- 0:16Speaker 1: Well with the Jason kind of honestly here Brad Sexstman
- 0:18Speaker 1: and John Osier. A bye week to the Jaguars last week,
- 0:21Speaker 1: but now back in the full swing of things as
- 0:23Speaker 1: they prepare to take on the Las Vegas.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Raiders this week on Sunday.
- 0:26Speaker 1: So we're gonna start with some of our big things
- 0:28Speaker 1: today before you midweek here brought to you by g
- 0:30Speaker 1: EJ Government Employees Health Association Benefit for federal employees and retirees.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Big thing Number one is staying on schedule.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Liam Cohen talked earlier this week when he looked back
- 0:39Speaker 1: at the tape and some of the things he wanted
- 0:40Speaker 1: to see going forward.
- 0:41Speaker 3: This was his reflection on the offense, especially offensively, are
- 0:46Speaker 3: on schedule, usually good things have occurred, and when you're
- 0:49Speaker 3: off schedule, it's tough seletting. And we've got a couple,
- 0:53Speaker 3: you know, different tweaks of how we want to try
- 0:56Speaker 3: to get guys the ball and get the again our
- 0:59Speaker 3: best players the ball in space, and how to stay
- 1:03Speaker 3: a little bit better ahead of the chains and executing
- 1:06Speaker 3: first and second down a little bit better so that
- 1:09Speaker 3: third downs are a little bit more manageable.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Brian, thing's never going to go completely as planned. But
- 1:15Speaker 1: it would be nice if they could stay on schedule
- 1:17Speaker 1: at least with the early downs early in the game,
- 1:19Speaker 1: get the offense rolling a little bit.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Listen on schedule as the schedule turns to November, when
- 1:24Speaker 4: the contenders start to emerge and the pretenders fall away, Kyle,
- 1:28Speaker 4: you know the last two games there's seven.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Of thirty one on third down.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Listen drop passes, you know, negative plays on first down,
- 1:37Speaker 4: penalties have all conspired to put them in situations that
- 1:40Speaker 4: they couldn't readily overcome, John, and so they have fallen
- 1:43Speaker 4: off schedule. The running game has not been consistent, they
- 1:46Speaker 4: haven't protected the quarterback.
- 1:47Speaker 5: We've been through all of this.
- 1:49Speaker 4: They've had two weeks now to get ready to go
- 1:51Speaker 4: play a Raiders team, and they desperately need to get
- 1:53Speaker 4: to a position. And I think they get there John
- 1:56Speaker 4: by running the ball well on first down.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Yeah, and well, you don't want and we all felt it.
- 2:01Speaker 6: Most people who are watching this felt it. First play
- 2:04Speaker 6: against the Rams three yard sack and oh they talked
- 2:08Speaker 6: about all this all week and then here was again.
- 2:12Speaker 6: So on Sunday, the last thing you want is a
- 2:16Speaker 6: second and twelve on the first drive, because you just
- 2:19Speaker 6: feel like that's going again. It's got to be some
- 2:21Speaker 6: second and seven, third and two. Get it going. It's
- 2:24Speaker 6: what it was early in the season. This all sounds
- 2:27Speaker 6: so simple. It's about execution and you have to play
- 2:31Speaker 6: better to get there.
- 2:32Speaker 7: So we know the formula.
- 2:34Speaker 6: It's a matter of if the Jaguars can be consistent
- 2:37Speaker 6: and prepared enough to go get it done.
- 2:39Speaker 7: Make it happen.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Our second big thing today is going to be getting home.
- 2:43Speaker 1: When Liam Cohen looked at the defense, he said, a
- 2:45Speaker 1: lot of it is going to be about getting after
- 2:47Speaker 1: it with the pass.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Rush, pass rush and coverage in terms of limiting explosives,
- 2:53Speaker 3: but also getting home a little bit more as well.
- 2:56Speaker 3: So you look at all those things and so much
- 2:59Speaker 3: of it goes into it. These guys did a lot
- 3:01Speaker 3: of work as a staff from a report and communicating
- 3:05Speaker 3: that now to the players, and some of those things
- 3:07Speaker 3: that you want to end up getting maybe tweaked. But
- 3:10Speaker 3: we're not going to go and reinvent.
- 3:11Speaker 2: The wheel, John, not reinventing the wheel.
- 3:14Speaker 1: We're talking about a lot of similar things, but also
- 3:17Speaker 1: executing to the degree that it's helpful to their team. Obviously,
- 3:21Speaker 1: we've seen some of the pass rushers near the quarterback,
- 3:23Speaker 1: but getting sacks, getting to the quarterback and helping themselves out.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Yeah, there's been a lot of because we've been breaking
- 3:30Speaker 6: down two losses that are tough, there's been a lot of.
- 3:35Speaker 7: Focus on the problems.
- 3:37Speaker 6: I do think they have a chance to start getting
- 3:38Speaker 6: the quarterback because overall they have not fallen off in
- 3:43Speaker 6: stopping the run. So I do think they can keep
- 3:45Speaker 6: other teams in bad down and distance, get in situations
- 3:50Speaker 6: Brian to rush the passer, and then at that point
- 3:53Speaker 6: it is about getting home.
- 3:55Speaker 5: You know.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Josh Heinzellen Treyvon Walker.
- 3:57Speaker 6: To me are still the best two players in this
- 3:59Speaker 6: defense that they can get Trayvon where you can use
- 4:01Speaker 6: the hand. I think there's hope in this area because
- 4:05Speaker 6: I don't think they're as far off from getting legitimate
- 4:09Speaker 6: disruption on defense as maybe people think.
- 4:12Speaker 4: What we felt like it was a really aggressive attacking front.
- 4:16Speaker 4: They had fourteen takeaways, right, and then Trayvon Walker's out
- 4:20Speaker 4: of the game in San Francisco, misses Kansas City, and
- 4:23Speaker 4: the last two weeks playing with that club, he hasn't
- 4:25Speaker 4: been nearly the same. And it's fair to say that
- 4:27Speaker 4: without Trayvon Walker, in the lineup. The defense hasn't looked
- 4:30Speaker 4: anything like it was early on. They've got to win
- 4:34Speaker 4: on early downs and set up those pass rushing situations. Really, John,
- 4:38Speaker 4: I mean, if Trayvon Walker is as good as we
- 4:40Speaker 4: think he is, and he's got any use of that hand,
- 4:43Speaker 4: it should free up somewhere along the line for someone
- 4:47Speaker 4: to win. Oh and by the way, we talk about
- 4:48Speaker 4: the pass rush, we almost exclusively talk about forty one
- 4:51Speaker 4: and forty four, but it would be helpful if you
- 4:53Speaker 4: know ninety one and ninety four and fifty two and
- 4:56Speaker 4: the guys in the middle of the line are able
- 4:58Speaker 4: to get some push and pressure. I mean, Eric Armersad
- 5:02Speaker 4: was a ten set guy at one point in his career.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Could he get five? Could he get six this season?
- 5:06Speaker 4: That would help a lot.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Leads the team right now, So we'll see what they
- 5:10Speaker 1: can do in the second half of the season. Our
- 5:11Speaker 1: final big thing today is going to be more on
- 5:13Speaker 1: his plate. We've talked a ton about it. We finally
- 5:15Speaker 1: saw kind of a breakout game from Travis Hunter on
- 5:17Speaker 1: offense against the Rams, some of that in garbage time,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but still seeing he's able to make those big plays.
- 5:22Speaker 1: William Cohen talked about putting a little bit more on
- 5:24Speaker 1: his plate as time goes on.
- 5:26Speaker 3: You look at the end of the last game against
- 5:29Speaker 3: the Rams with he and Trevor building on a connection
- 5:32Speaker 3: and making some plays towards the end of the game.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Obviously it was a lot out of reach at the time,
- 5:37Speaker 3: but you're still seeing competitive throws and catches in live action,
- 5:43Speaker 3: which is something we've needed. So you know, you definitely
- 5:47Speaker 3: look at how much more can he handle, how much
- 5:51Speaker 3: more can we put him in a position to be
- 5:54Speaker 3: successful on both offense and defense, and what does that
- 5:57Speaker 3: look like. So it definitely gave us an oppertate tunity
- 6:00Speaker 3: as a staff to look at how we can continue
- 6:04Speaker 3: to use him.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Brian. We know we're gonna see more of Travis Hunter
- 6:07Speaker 1: on offense now, and it feels like they're getting to
- 6:09Speaker 1: that point where they've got to get him more involved
- 6:11Speaker 1: in different positions as a wide receiver. We've seen what
- 6:15Speaker 1: he does in the slot, but he's got that big playability.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what would make this a lot easier
- 6:18Speaker 4: if Brian Thomas Junior could get started. If Brian Thomas
- 6:21Speaker 4: Junior holds on to a few of those passes and
- 6:23Speaker 4: draws some of the attention away defense has been able
- 6:27Speaker 4: to focus on Travis Hunter because they haven't had to
- 6:29Speaker 4: worry as much about Brian Thomas. If you can get
- 6:32Speaker 4: Brian Thomas Junior started, boy, can you have a much
- 6:35Speaker 4: broader usage plan for Travis Hunter. And of course if
- 6:40Speaker 4: the offense is humming and you're not relying on him
- 6:42Speaker 4: because he's got to play on offense, then you can
- 6:44Speaker 4: get him on the defensive side a little bit more
- 6:46Speaker 4: and we know what he's capable of doing on that
- 6:49Speaker 4: side of the ball. I think getting seven going would
- 6:52Speaker 4: have a lot to do, John with getting twelve into rhythm.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Yeah, it's really tough because seven hasn't been getting going.
- 7:00Speaker 7: Couple of games.
- 7:00Speaker 6: You thought Brenton Strange huge part of this, and he
- 7:03Speaker 6: hasn't been there. Uh, Adami Brown hasn't quite I don't
- 7:07Speaker 6: think Ben as consistent as they hope in terms of
- 7:09Speaker 6: a deep threat. So now you have three things that
- 7:12Speaker 6: aren't quite what you thought. I think Travis Hunter is
- 7:16Speaker 6: going to be a huge focal point moving forward. I'm
- 7:19Speaker 6: very curious as to how that's going to look if
- 7:21Speaker 6: that's the case, because he's your most dynamic, dangerous player.
- 7:26Speaker 7: Ready, How ready is he for that role.
- 7:28Speaker 6: How much does he know the offense to be able
- 7:30Speaker 6: to be the core?
- 7:32Speaker 7: Can you handle that?
- 7:33Speaker 6: He's he's uber talented and it's going to be a
- 7:36Speaker 6: fascinating storyline to me and in these last ten games.
- 7:40Speaker 1: All right, stay with here on jag Zam. Coming up
- 7:42Speaker 1: after the break, we'll.
- 7:42Speaker 8: Do a little this or that as we look forward
- 7:44Speaker 8: to the game against the Raiders.
- 7:54Speaker 1: JAG's fans, you want to customize Dagwars furniture for your home,
- 7:56Speaker 1: check out zipchare dot com arouse all the customizable options.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Zip chair is from.
- 8:00Speaker 6: Fans, this this.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We're gonna play a little of this or that. It
- 8:08Speaker 1: was bye week, so we're gonna see if there's any
- 8:10Speaker 1: big changes coming up. I for one, am curious if
- 8:14Speaker 1: they might change some of the starters on the offensive line.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Is now the time do you think they will or
- 8:20Speaker 1: do you think they're sick of.
- 8:21Speaker 2: What they have?
- 8:21Speaker 5: Well?
- 8:22Speaker 2: I think now like a good time to see if
- 8:23Speaker 2: whyaett Mylam can play.
- 8:24Speaker 4: You know, he was a guy that they were really
- 8:26Speaker 4: excited about on draft day and really liked what they
- 8:29Speaker 4: saw from him as they put him into the lineup
- 8:32Speaker 4: during training camp before he had the knee injury. He's
- 8:34Speaker 4: very strong, he is the future, so why not see
- 8:38Speaker 4: if he isn't a guy who can give you something
- 8:40Speaker 4: at right guard. I think Ezra Cleveland played pretty well
- 8:44Speaker 4: at left guard, and Patrick McCarry had three penalties last
- 8:47Speaker 4: week against the other Rams, So if I was gonna
- 8:49Speaker 4: make a change, I would get Whitet Milam on the field.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 6: I don't know if they automatically do it yet, but
- 8:57Speaker 6: I think that is something that will happen at some
- 8:59Speaker 6: point point during the season, because, like you said, Ryan,
- 9:03Speaker 6: he's going to be the starter. It's not like you're
- 9:06Speaker 6: trying to plug in a guy that you don't know
- 9:08Speaker 6: what his future is. So I see that happening at
- 9:13Speaker 6: some point this season. Wouldn't surprise me. If it was
- 9:14Speaker 6: this week or the very least. You might see a share,
- 9:18Speaker 6: which they sometimes do to bring a guy along very much.
- 9:21Speaker 7: At the ready.
- 9:22Speaker 6: I don't think you change anything else because I don't
- 9:24Speaker 6: think you want to have an entire system of moving
- 9:27Speaker 6: brothers in front of Trevor Lawrence.
- 9:28Speaker 7: But that makes sense.
- 9:29Speaker 4: But there were a couple of guys that you heard
- 9:31Speaker 4: their names mentioned during training camp as being rookies who
- 9:35Speaker 4: could start. I would try to turn here. Obviously Caleb Bramshaw,
- 9:38Speaker 4: but he got hurt. Mylam hasn't been in because he
- 9:40Speaker 4: got hurt.
- 9:40Speaker 5: So it just.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Seems to make sense that you're looking at that list
- 9:43Speaker 4: again and saying, these were the guys that we thought
- 9:45Speaker 4: were our core players.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Let's see what we get him in.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Also, with the deadline approaching for the trade deadline, we've
- 9:52Speaker 1: seen obviously James Gladstone not afraid to make moves in season.
- 9:55Speaker 1: He's already made a couple handful of them, and I'm
- 9:57Speaker 1: sure he's making calls and whatnot. Do we think that
- 10:00Speaker 1: there will be a deadline move for the Jags or
- 10:02Speaker 1: do you think they're going to stand up.
- 10:04Speaker 6: I don't think they're going to be scared of it, meaning,
- 10:08Speaker 6: you know, some Wys just don't want to do.
- 10:10Speaker 7: That because the draft cap you're giving up.
- 10:12Speaker 6: I think if it's there and it's somebody they think
- 10:15Speaker 6: will help them, they wouldn't hesitate to do it. I
- 10:18Speaker 6: could see it on the defensive interior. I've got a
- 10:21Speaker 6: lot of questions about wide receiver. I don't know who
- 10:25Speaker 6: you pull out of the lineup to insert a wide
- 10:30Speaker 6: receiver that you would acquire, and I could see tight
- 10:34Speaker 6: end if there was somebody out there. Again, it made sense.
- 10:40Speaker 6: Those are gonna be three positions. I would not be
- 10:43Speaker 6: surprised about you.
- 10:43Speaker 2: You'd love to see help and safety as well.
- 10:45Speaker 5: But it has to fit, right.
- 10:47Speaker 4: I mean, you have to be bringing a guy in
- 10:49Speaker 4: who isn't going to bury your cap in the next
- 10:52Speaker 4: two or three years. I mean they unloaded Tyson Campbell's
- 10:55Speaker 4: contract and in the process they got Greg news Tom
- 10:58Speaker 4: who's on a one year deal.
- 11:00Speaker 2: So it's not a long term strap to your cap.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Caleb Branshaw is going to be the long term guy
- 11:06Speaker 4: there at some point next year, and so you don't
- 11:08Speaker 4: want to bring someone in his cap and his salary
- 11:12Speaker 4: structure creates a problem. So I think you're not just
- 11:15Speaker 4: looking at positions, but you've got to find great value
- 11:18Speaker 4: someone that fits what you want to do with your cap.
- 11:20Speaker 1: They have to be available to be trading four as well.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So we'll see the Raiders game on Sunday, this team
- 11:26Speaker 1: heads the Las Vegas. It's four or five games are
- 11:29Speaker 1: going to be away from here coming up on the schedule.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So I know we overuse this phrase a lot, but
- 11:34Speaker 1: is it a must win for the team?
- 11:35Speaker 2: I use a big game.
- 11:38Speaker 4: No, I don't know that it's a must win, although
- 11:40Speaker 4: I mean I could certainly make the case for it
- 11:41Speaker 4: because you need to get some traction back. But it's
- 11:44Speaker 4: a really big game because John, after the Raiders, you've
- 11:48Speaker 4: got the Texans, right, and the Texans have won three
- 11:50Speaker 4: of four and they're rising now. And then you've got
- 11:52Speaker 4: the Chargers and they're power at five and three in
- 11:55Speaker 4: the AFC, So you can't afford.
- 11:57Speaker 5: To lose ground.
- 11:58Speaker 2: You've got to turn the trajector.
- 12:00Speaker 5: On this thing.
- 12:01Speaker 4: So while it's not a must win in terms of
- 12:03Speaker 4: your overall season, it sure feels like a really damn
- 12:05Speaker 4: important game for this football team.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not a must win because if they lose
- 12:10Speaker 6: and they win nine and you're thirteen and four, Sure,
- 12:14Speaker 6: But I agree with Brian, it's really big because I
- 12:19Speaker 6: think as players, there's adversity and they very much wanted
- 12:27Speaker 6: to win against Seattle On in LA. But you can
- 12:30Speaker 6: also easily tell yourself those are two really good teams
- 12:33Speaker 6: that might be playing in the NFC Championship Game. They're
- 12:36Speaker 6: that level of good. The Raiders, they're two and five
- 12:39Speaker 6: and they're not out of it. They're not any quit
- 12:42Speaker 6: On the season mode. But anybody would say on paper,
- 12:45Speaker 6: they're a team you ought to beat. You lose that one.
- 12:49Speaker 6: Liam's not going to lose the locker room, but you
- 12:52Speaker 6: might doubt yourself a little bit. Can we do it
- 12:55Speaker 6: right now? I think this team right now believes it
- 12:58Speaker 6: can do it right now. If you lose to the
- 13:01Speaker 6: Raiders and you're four and foury Brian said, a tough
- 13:03Speaker 6: schedule coming up, it does sort of deliver a gut
- 13:06Speaker 6: punch of hey, maybe you're not as good as.
- 13:08Speaker 7: You thought you were. I think they are right, but
- 13:10Speaker 7: that's what it would tell then, well.
- 13:11Speaker 4: This is one you better win then. I mean, just
- 13:13Speaker 4: sobering thought here. Bruck Bauers is one of the best
- 13:15Speaker 4: young tight ends in the game. He hasn't been playing,
- 13:17Speaker 4: he's supposed to be back this week. And Max Crosby's
- 13:20Speaker 4: one of the best pass rushers in the game. So
- 13:22Speaker 4: and they're coming off of a thirty one to nothing
- 13:24Speaker 4: thrashing at the hands of the Chiefs and their bye week,
- 13:27Speaker 4: so they're going to be They're going to be licking
- 13:30Speaker 4: their wounds too. I mean, you're not going in there
- 13:31Speaker 4: to get somebody who's not ready to play.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Yeah, until decemb I'm a big believer if you're playing
- 13:37Speaker 6: teams in December January, when they're mailing it, this is
- 13:39Speaker 6: still a first year coach and nobody, I'm sure nobody
- 13:45Speaker 6: out there thinks there's gonna be a one and done.
- 13:47Speaker 7: You're still trying to.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Play for this guy, so this is not a you know,
- 13:51Speaker 6: the Raiders will not be mailing it in yet.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Very important game from both teams clearly coming up, we'll
- 13:57Speaker 1: talk a little bit more on jag xam about what's
- 13:59Speaker 1: been going on in the AFC South exam brotty by
- 14:10Speaker 1: dream Finderslves. For twelve years, dream finderselves have been proud
- 14:13Speaker 1: to call themselves the official home builder of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Visit dreamfindersmes dot com for all of the available inventory
- 14:19Speaker 1: and go Jags welcome back in. We're gonna keep tabs
- 14:24Speaker 1: on the AFC South as we always do here on Wednesday,
- 14:26Speaker 1: because we want you guys to know what's going on
- 14:28Speaker 1: and breaking news. The Colts are still really, really good.
- 14:31Speaker 1: They got to win over the Titans, who are not
- 14:33Speaker 1: very good and John is the division a runaway at
- 14:37Speaker 1: this point. I know we still have a bunch of
- 14:38Speaker 1: divisional games but it's not.
- 14:40Speaker 6: A runaway, but it's certainly at the point where you
- 14:44Speaker 6: look at the Colts and even when they have tough
- 14:46Speaker 6: schedule coming up, but even when they play that tough schedule,
- 14:49Speaker 6: they're playing so well, they're gonna get some of those
- 14:52Speaker 6: and they what's scary about them is they look like
- 14:55Speaker 6: a team right now that when they're supposed to win,
- 14:58Speaker 6: they handle it, and they don't with themselves in dicey situations.
- 15:03Speaker 6: So look, they're two and a half games up on
- 15:05Speaker 6: the Jacks with ten to play. That seems like a lot,
- 15:09Speaker 6: but it means the Jaguars can't drop for him anymore.
- 15:12Speaker 7: I mean, they've got to start.
- 15:14Speaker 5: It makes the Raiders game that much more.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 6: I mean, like we were talking before the show, Ryan
- 15:18Speaker 6: that they still have two games to reel them in
- 15:21Speaker 6: in December. Yeah, but way the Colts are playing, you
- 15:24Speaker 6: got to stay where you can reel them in.
- 15:26Speaker 7: And you can't assume you're gonna bet him twice.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Listen, it's tough. No, no there listening. They're seven to one.
- 15:31Speaker 2: They're one of the best two or three teams in
- 15:32Speaker 2: the league.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Ky the running the ball so well, it's just taking
- 15:35Speaker 4: all the pressure off Daniel Jones, who never handled it
- 15:38Speaker 4: that well during his time with the New York Giants,
- 15:40Speaker 4: but he's playing so well because Jonathan Taylor is a
- 15:44Speaker 4: great running back. Their schedule does get tough. They have
- 15:47Speaker 4: to go to Kansas City, They've got the Steelers, They've
- 15:49Speaker 4: got Seattle and San Francisco and the Texans twice, as
- 15:53Speaker 4: well as the Jaguars twice.
- 15:54Speaker 5: So it does get dicey.
- 15:57Speaker 4: You have a chance if you can stay within a
- 15:59Speaker 4: game or two them to be able to reel.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Them back in the head to head matchups.
- 16:03Speaker 4: But you can't go loose to the Raiders and all
- 16:06Speaker 4: of a sudden think, well we're still in this thing.
- 16:08Speaker 4: You lose to the Raiders, now you're hoping for you're
- 16:11Speaker 4: hoping for wild card.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I think when I look at the Colts schedule, They're
- 16:16Speaker 1: beginning schedule is similar to the end of our schedule.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Games that you have the ability to go win those games.
- 16:21Speaker 1: They clearly took care of business on their first half
- 16:23Speaker 1: of their schedules. Now the Jaguars have to do that
- 16:25Speaker 1: in the back half of.
- 16:25Speaker 4: The Although they should have beaten the Rams in LA
- 16:28Speaker 4: and they did beat the Broncos already, those are two
- 16:30Speaker 4: quality wins.
- 16:31Speaker 7: So are Chargers bad too? So they're they're legit.
- 16:35Speaker 6: I'm not saying this team can't get legit enough to
- 16:37Speaker 6: catch them, but don't think they're just going to automatically.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Fall back to you.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Listen, we hope that this is not We've been talking
- 16:43Speaker 4: about this not being the same Jaguars team. We know
- 16:45Speaker 4: that's not the same Colts team that we've seen.
- 16:47Speaker 5: In recent years.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And now the Texans are kind of getting back to
- 16:51Speaker 1: what they do well as well. We saw them get
- 16:53Speaker 1: a win over the forty nine ers. Brian we were
- 16:56Speaker 1: talking earlier, just kind of seeing that offense.
- 16:59Speaker 2: CJ.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Stroud kind of got a little bit more comfortable. It
- 17:01Speaker 1: didn't have his normal target and Nico Collins, but spread
- 17:03Speaker 1: the football around, right.
- 17:04Speaker 5: You know, they just kind of ham an eggit. The
- 17:06Speaker 5: other day.
- 17:07Speaker 4: They had three or four receivers with more than fifty
- 17:09Speaker 4: yards receiving. They had two backs with over fifty yards rushing.
- 17:12Speaker 4: They ran for one to fifty seven total against San Francisco.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I mean the numbers.
- 17:16Speaker 4: The quarterback was thirty of thirty nine for three hundred
- 17:19Speaker 4: and eighteen yards and two touchdowns.
- 17:20Speaker 5: But when you watched.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Them, they throws like that. You're like, yeah, that's the CJ.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Stroud that we've seen that is very.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Difficult to defend. So I get it.
- 17:28Speaker 2: This is not a San Francisco team.
- 17:29Speaker 4: You know, without Nick Bosa and without Fred Warner, they're
- 17:32Speaker 4: not that great San Francisco team. But the Texans took
- 17:36Speaker 4: care of them, and they looked to me John winners
- 17:38Speaker 4: of three of their last four, like a team that's
- 17:40Speaker 4: starting to get their legs underneath them after an owen
- 17:43Speaker 4: three start.
- 17:44Speaker 6: Yeah, I did wonder after Warner got hurt how long
- 17:48Speaker 6: San Francisco would be able to continue to start to
- 17:51Speaker 6: piece it together. And I think the way the Texans won,
- 17:54Speaker 6: which was fairly controlling it may have had a little.
- 17:58Speaker 7: Something to do with that.
- 17:59Speaker 6: As soon as I say that, I thought, when they
- 18:02Speaker 6: beat the Texans here, even though the Texans went oh
- 18:04Speaker 6: and three, the Texans are gonna figure out a way
- 18:08Speaker 6: to be around nine or ten. They're good enough, and
- 18:10Speaker 6: they're a proud franchise. They play with heart. So I
- 18:15Speaker 6: still say that early victory over the Texans is gonna
- 18:17Speaker 6: being a huge for the Jag and a couple of
- 18:19Speaker 6: weeks it's gonna be a tough get to sweep this
- 18:22Speaker 6: team the way they play well and their defense.
- 18:24Speaker 5: With their defense, we talk so much about CJ.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Stroud at Ego Collins, but that defense is so very aggressive.
- 18:31Speaker 4: And with the outside I mean Will Anderson was a
- 18:34Speaker 4: factor in the ball game here and the Neil Hunter
- 18:36Speaker 4: is an excellent outside rusher. And remember the game here,
- 18:40Speaker 4: you didn't have Stingley on the field for most of
- 18:42Speaker 4: the game.
- 18:42Speaker 5: He got hurt.
- 18:43Speaker 4: When he's on the field, that changes the dynamic completely.
- 18:46Speaker 4: So their defense is gonna help them stay in the race.
- 18:49Speaker 4: It's gonna be a hell of a race in the
- 18:51Speaker 4: AFC South with the Colts and I think the Texans
- 18:53Speaker 4: coming in. If the Jaguars can get their legs back
- 18:55Speaker 4: underneath them, it'll be a lot of fun. People will
- 18:57Speaker 4: look at the difference the division different than they have
- 19:01Speaker 4: in recent years.
- 19:01Speaker 2: You'll have three teams that will be interesting.
- 19:05Speaker 6: And that's why the game on Sunday for the jag
- 19:07Speaker 6: is so important. You want five and three going into
- 19:10Speaker 6: Houston so that you don't feel like it's sliding and
- 19:14Speaker 6: you know, yeah, and you don't want that to feel
- 19:16Speaker 6: like a must win game because if it'll feel more
- 19:19Speaker 6: like it, so it won't be but going to that
- 19:21Speaker 6: four and four, it's gonna feel like a must win.
- 19:25Speaker 7: Good stuff.
- 19:25Speaker 1: We like the competition for sure.
- 19:27Speaker 7: We'll keep an eye on things.

- 20:31Speaker 4: how you involved him more.
- 20:33Speaker 6: And I'll have Foyer Leukant on the ozone podcast, looking
- 20:36Speaker 6: forward to that veteran guy who I think can put
- 20:39Speaker 6: in perspective just where they're at with this season.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Checking in with Travis etn Obviously a great start to
- 20:43Speaker 1: the season. Want to get back to the running game
