Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Matt Poole Pops The Question In Palm Cove
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Matt Paul
- 0:12Speaker 1: pops the question in Palm Cove, Sky Wheatley's public falling
- 0:16Speaker 1: out with her business partner, Tammy Hembrough throws shade at
- 0:20Speaker 1: her baby daddies and Simone Anderson's very close relationship with
- 0:24Speaker 1: her mother-in-law. But first, there's already trouble in paradise between
- 0:28Speaker 1: Veruca Salt and her new husband. I mean, I can't
- 0:32Speaker 1: say I'm completely shocked about this update. The pair got
- 0:36Speaker 1: married after knowing each other for 14 days in Vegas.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So I felt like it was only a matter of
- 0:40Speaker 1: time before we started seeing cracks in this relationship. Well,
- 0:43Speaker 1: he's so new that as followers, we don't even know
- 0:46Speaker 1: his name. He goes by the handle Digi Premium. So
- 0:49Speaker 1: we are going to refer to him as Digi when
- 0:51Speaker 1: we talk about him. Poor guy. I think he just
- 0:53Speaker 1: needs to put his name out there for once and
- 0:54Speaker 1: for all so we know what to call him. Well,
- 0:57Speaker 1: a lot of people must have gone on to follow
- 0:59Speaker 1: him because people have been sending in the fact that
- 1:01Speaker 1: he is making a plea to Veruca's followers to pass
- 1:05Speaker 1: on a message to her. So it turns out that
- 1:07Speaker 1: Veruca has already blocked him. So he wrote on his
- 1:10Speaker 1: Instagram stories, y'all tell Veruca, unblock me and I'm sorry,
- 1:14Speaker 1: with two sad faces and a broken heart emoji. He added,
- 1:17Speaker 1: go comment on her posts. So it sounds like he's
- 1:20Speaker 1: done something. Aside from the fact that this would obviously
- 1:23Speaker 1: be upsetting for Veruca, the silver lining is this is
- 1:26Speaker 1: fantastic TikTok content for her. I mean, all of the
- 1:29Speaker 1: videos of her talking about her wedding have gone completely viral.
- 1:33Speaker 1: They have millions of views and everyone was saying, oh
- 1:35Speaker 1: my gosh, we can't wait for you To drop the
- 1:38Speaker 1: story of when it all goes tits up. Well, it
- 1:40Speaker 1: kind of makes Tammy Hempel and Matt Zukowski's marriage not
- 1:43Speaker 1: look so bad. I mean, they were together for at least, what,
- 1:45Speaker 1: four or five months? I think it was seven in
- 1:47Speaker 1: the end. That seems to be the magical number. Wasn't
- 1:49Speaker 1: that how long Olivia Rogers and Justin McKeon were together for?
- 1:52Speaker 1: I think people probably think, okay, if I make it
- 1:53Speaker 1: to six months, it doesn't look as bad if I
- 1:55Speaker 1: call things off. God, that's a sad milestone to be
- 1:58Speaker 1: holding out to hit. I just hope that whatever has happened,
- 2:02Speaker 1: Veruca tells us very shortly. She will. I think this
- 2:04Speaker 1: will be an evolving story, which we'll be keeping our
- 2:07Speaker 1: listeners across.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Hi, guys.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm Matt Poole, former Ironman champion. Former Ironman Matt Poole
- 2:15Speaker 1: has popped the question to Annalise Oatway whilst on a
- 2:18Speaker 1: family vacation to Palm Cove. Matt got down on one
- 2:21Speaker 1: knee on a palm line beach alongside their six-month-old son, Parker,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and his three-year-old daughter, Posy, who he shares with his ex-fiancée,
- 2:29Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough. God, those pool jeans are strong. Posy and
- 2:32Speaker 1: Parker literally look like twins. They are so adorable. They are,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and I think it's a really nice touch that he
- 2:39Speaker 1: proposed in front of their two kids, not to compare engagements,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but he actually did the same thing when he proposed
- 2:45Speaker 1: to Tammy Hembrough. So that took place on a boat,
- 2:48Speaker 1: and he had her two kids, Wolf and Saskia, there.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And I think Wolf held up a little sign. They
- 2:52Speaker 1: both did, actually. If you want to be really specific, Now,
- 2:55Speaker 1: they shared the announcement on Instagram and Matt wrote, let's
- 2:58Speaker 1: plan a wedding, Mrs.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Paul.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I found that interesting because obviously he put up the
- 3:03Speaker 1: post and it was one of those collaborative posts, but
- 3:07Speaker 1: it seemed like he was very much driving the social
- 3:09Speaker 1: media around it. Well, probably because he's got the bigger following.
- 3:12Speaker 1: For those who don't know, Annalise actually works as a
- 3:15Speaker 1: nurse and she subsequently has got a bit of a
- 3:18Speaker 1: following off the back of Matt Paul and his connection
- 3:21Speaker 1: with Tammy Hembrough, I suppose, essentially. I mean, To be fair,
- 3:24Speaker 1: in Matt Paul's own right, he is an Ironman, but
- 3:27Speaker 1: I think he's had a lot more eyes on him
- 3:28Speaker 1: since his connection with Tammy. Now, we've got to get
- 3:31Speaker 1: into the ring because it was quite a unique looking ring.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It was made by Jeweler Son Del Dol, which is
- 3:38Speaker 1: a Bastoke studio in New South Wales. I am going
- 3:42Speaker 1: to do my best to describe this ring. I'm not 100%
- 3:45Speaker 1: sure what the actual stone is. It looks like a diamond. Well,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I wasn't sure. I thought maybe it could have been
- 3:51Speaker 1: a different stone. Whatever it is, it is the shape
- 3:53Speaker 1: of a pear and it's flipped on the side and
- 3:55Speaker 1: it is then surrounded by a chunky gold band. It's
- 3:59Speaker 1: difficult not to talk about this ring without comparing it
- 4:02Speaker 1: to the one Matt gave Tammy Hembrough. And I feel
- 4:04Speaker 1: bad comparing them. But I mean, when you do propose
- 4:08Speaker 1: to Australia's biggest influencer, that moment is going to be
- 4:11Speaker 1: burnt in a lot of people's minds. And all I
- 4:13Speaker 1: could think about was, oh, I preferred Tammy's ring. Like
- 4:17Speaker 1: she had this beautiful, massive oval diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's like my dream engagement ring. I think, yeah, the
- 4:25Speaker 1: unfortunate thing is her engagement ring from Matt Paul was
- 4:28Speaker 1: probably one of my favorite influencer rings ever. That being said,
- 4:32Speaker 1: this ring that he created for Annalise was very sentimental
- 4:36Speaker 1: and I think that it was her dream ring. Now,
- 4:39Speaker 1: underneath the post, the jeweler congratulated the couple and said
- 4:42Speaker 1: that it was an honor to craft her ring. And
- 4:45Speaker 1: Matt replied reiterating that it was Annalise's dream ring and
- 4:48Speaker 1: that inside the ring are both Posey and Parker's birthstones,
- 4:52Speaker 1: which is a very special touch. And I think it's
- 4:54Speaker 1: particularly sweet to see the relationship that Annalise has with Posey. Obviously,
- 4:58Speaker 1: she sees her as her own daughter. Now, the ring
- 5:01Speaker 1: divided opinions on social media. One person went as far
- 5:06Speaker 1: as to say it was a complete disappointment, which I
- 5:08Speaker 1: thought was pretty harsh. Like, just... Have your thoughts privately,
- 5:13Speaker 1: but you don't have to voice them on the post. Yeah, well,
- 5:15Speaker 1: one of Annalisa's friends weighed in in the comment section
- 5:18Speaker 1: and they revealed that, as you said, Kate, Annalisa's actually
- 5:21Speaker 1: a nurse and because the ring is super flat, it
- 5:23Speaker 1: means that she can wear it during her shifts. She
- 5:26Speaker 1: also added that Matt obviously took that into consideration when
- 5:29Speaker 1: he got it custom made for her. I mean, that
- 5:31Speaker 1: makes a lot of sense because you see these women
- 5:33Speaker 1: like Molly May and Tammy Hembrough walking around with these
- 5:36Speaker 1: absolute massive rocks on their fingers. And I always think, how...
- 5:40Speaker 1: practical really is that. I mean, I often take off
- 5:44Speaker 1: my jewelry. I think I just get like a sensory
- 5:46Speaker 1: overload of having jewelry on. I actually remember my hairdresser
- 5:49Speaker 1: saying to me, don't get a ring that has diamonds
- 5:51Speaker 1: around the band because you're just going to get poo
- 5:53Speaker 1: stuck on it when you have a child from changing nappies.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I actually did opt for a wedding band with diamonds
- 5:58Speaker 1: around it, but I actually haven't fallen into that problem yet.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Both my wedding band and engagement ring have that style
- 6:04Speaker 1: of diamonds around the band and I haven't had any issues,
- 6:06Speaker 1: but again, I often don't wear them when I'm changing nappies. Now,
- 6:10Speaker 1: as you would expect, the comment section absolutely blew up
- 6:13Speaker 1: under Matt Paul's post with a lot of well wishes.
- 6:16Speaker 1: The most notable was Tammy Hembrough's ex-husband, Matt Sikowsky, who wrote, Congratulations, guys.
- 6:22Speaker 1: So happy for you both. Now, Matt Paul actually responded
- 6:26Speaker 1: to this comment writing, Thanks, mate. So what about Tammy?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Because there's been a lot of speculation that there's bad
- 6:31Speaker 1: blood between them. No, so I searched his likes. She
- 6:35Speaker 1: did not like the post. To my knowledge, she has
- 6:38Speaker 1: not commented on it. I cannot see a comment from her.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And this has sparked further speculation that there is growing
- 6:45Speaker 1: bad blood between Tammy and Matt because he was caught
- 6:48Speaker 1: out liking a parody video, which mocked Tammy for filming
- 6:51Speaker 1: herself crying following her divorce. I definitely think something is
- 6:56Speaker 1: going on there. We're going to dive a little bit
- 6:58Speaker 1: deeper into that later in this episode. Now, another interesting
- 7:02Speaker 1: element of this proposal that I want to finish on
- 7:04Speaker 1: is The fact that this took place on what appeared
- 7:08Speaker 1: to be a paid trip to Port Douglas and Palm Cove,
- 7:11Speaker 1: or at least a gifted trip, because in the lead
- 7:14Speaker 1: up to this proposal, Matt was posting all about his stay. Now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: he tagged his resort, which surprisingly wasn't actually my favourite
- 7:22Speaker 1: place on earth, the Grand Mirage Sheraton, which we've seen
- 7:25Speaker 1: a lot of influencers recently staying at. Maybe he didn't
- 7:28Speaker 1: want to propose there because Tammy's other ex and baby daddy,
- 7:32Speaker 1: Rhys Hawkins, proposed to his wife, former wife, now London,
- 7:38Speaker 1: go in there. So maybe he's like, I've got to
- 7:40Speaker 1: do it somewhere else. Did they actually ever get married
- 7:41Speaker 1: or were they just fiancés? Well, it was around COVID
- 7:45Speaker 1: and all of a sudden Rhys started referring to London
- 7:48Speaker 1: as his wife. Oh, that's right. And there was a
- 7:50Speaker 1: bit of speculation that they got married in a small
- 7:53Speaker 1: ceremony and were going to do a big thing later on,
- 7:55Speaker 1: but then that never happened. They broke up. Okay. Well,
- 7:59Speaker 1: For anyone who stays in Port Douglas, the place that
- 8:01Speaker 1: Matt and Annalise were actually staying is the Pullman. It
- 8:04Speaker 1: looks like a much more family-friendly resort. Now, he tagged
- 8:08Speaker 1: them in the post. I'm not actually sure if they
- 8:09Speaker 1: gave him a trip for free because there was no
- 8:11Speaker 1: sort of paid partnership tools being used. But he did
- 8:15Speaker 1: appear to have a paid partnership with a rental car
- 8:17Speaker 1: company over there. So I wonder... How stoked those companies
- 8:22Speaker 1: would have been that he ended up popping the question
- 8:25Speaker 1: over there? Because can you imagine the engagement on his
- 8:27Speaker 1: page right now? Yes, win-win for everyone, really.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Okay, I am here to spill the tea.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Sky Wheatley and her business partner, Tori Jeong, appear to
- 8:38Speaker 1: have rekindled their friendship. The former besties who run Good
- 8:41Speaker 1: People Apparel dramatically unfollowed each other last month. Now, the
- 8:45Speaker 1: timing of this bust up was particularly tough for Sky
- 8:48Speaker 1: because she had just announced her breakup with her baby daddy,
- 8:51Speaker 1: Lockie Waugh. She actually ended up backtracking a couple of
- 8:55Speaker 1: weeks later, though, saying that she and Lockie plan to
- 8:58Speaker 1: work through things when they're not so busy with their
- 9:00Speaker 1: house renovations. And she explained on a podcast that one
- 9:04Speaker 1: of the reasons for this backflip was because she was
- 9:07Speaker 1: in the midst of a friendship breakdown and couldn't mentally
- 9:10Speaker 1: go through both at the same time. Now, fast forward
- 9:12Speaker 1: a couple of weeks and Sky and Tori have refollowed
- 9:15Speaker 1: each other. Now, the refollow comes at an interesting time
- 9:19Speaker 1: because Tori has just announced to her 42,000 followers on
- 9:23Speaker 1: TikTok that she's split from her partner of 10 years.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So she announced that she's officially single and said that
- 9:30Speaker 1: things have been up and down with her partner since March. Now,
- 9:33Speaker 1: Tori has four kids. three of which she shares with
- 9:36Speaker 1: this partner. And she said that she has been caring
- 9:38Speaker 1: for her kids 99% of the time while her partner,
- 9:42Speaker 1: who is a FIFO worker, is away. And she admitted
- 9:45Speaker 1: that his job is half the reason for the split
- 9:48Speaker 1: because he is so absent and she always feels alone.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It's quite interesting because similar to Sky and Lockie, Tori
- 9:55Speaker 1: said that she is still living in the same house
- 9:57Speaker 1: as her ex as they figure out what they're going
- 9:59Speaker 1: to do. Well, I suppose that's when he's there. Yeah. Well,
- 10:02Speaker 1: she said that she's been living out of a suitcase.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So when he does come back from work. she goes
- 10:06Speaker 1: and stays with a friend. I think this situation in
- 10:08Speaker 1: the early days of a breakup when kids are involved
- 10:12Speaker 1: is probably quite common. It's just not something that we
- 10:14Speaker 1: hear a lot of people talk about. Yeah. Well, I
- 10:17Speaker 1: really feel for Tori because she said that she's shit
- 10:19Speaker 1: scared about what she's going to do financially because she
- 10:22Speaker 1: is primary carer of her four kids. And the only
- 10:25Speaker 1: really money that she has coming in is through her
- 10:27Speaker 1: small business, which she owns with Sky. So, you know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: maybe this is also why they've had to get over
- 10:34Speaker 1: their fight and become friends so they can try and
- 10:36Speaker 1: make as much money from this business as they can.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Or it might have been the catalyst for the fight
- 10:40Speaker 1: because when you own a business, if someone is personally
- 10:44Speaker 1: going through financial stress, they're going to be obviously wanting
- 10:47Speaker 1: to crack down and try and make the business as
- 10:50Speaker 1: successful as possible. Whereas Sky appears to also have a
- 10:53Speaker 1: lot on her plate with their renovations and everything that's
- 10:55Speaker 1: going on with Lockie. Well, I just think it's quite
- 10:57Speaker 1: clear that Sky and Tori have reconnected over the fact
- 11:00Speaker 1: that they now find themselves in the same situation with
- 11:03Speaker 1: their relationships. They've both split with their long-term partners who
- 11:06Speaker 1: they share kids with. It would be very tough and
- 11:08Speaker 1: it would be helpful to have someone going through the
- 11:11Speaker 1: same thing. Now, underneath Tori's announcement, a follower wrote, you
- 11:15Speaker 1: and Sky can move in together. Now, another follower responded
- 11:19Speaker 1: under that comment saying, I don't think that they're friends anymore.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I saw somewhere. And Tori responded saying, Sky and I
- 11:25Speaker 1: are fine, guys. As much as it sounds like a
- 11:28Speaker 1: great idea to move in with your best friend, considering
- 11:31Speaker 1: their friendship is sort of touch and go at the moment,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I don't think it's a good idea that they join
- 11:36Speaker 1: forces at this stage.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Learn from my cock ups for surgery pecking and only
- 11:40Speaker 3: peck the essentials.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Simone Anderson has shared the results of a recent breast
- 11:45Speaker 1: augmentation surgery. Posting to her 430,000 followers, the New Zealand
- 11:51Speaker 1: influencer shared a carousel of faceless images of her new boobs.
- 11:55Speaker 1: This popped up on my news feed and it gave
- 11:57Speaker 1: me quite a jump scare. I was not expecting it
- 12:01Speaker 1: that day. Well, she did abide by Instagram's rules. So
- 12:04Speaker 1: her nipples were covered with surgical tape. I want to
- 12:07Speaker 1: put that out there. Now, for those who aren't across
- 12:09Speaker 1: Simone's content, she gained a massive following after documenting her
- 12:13Speaker 1: weight loss journey. and her subsequent skin revision and removal surgery.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So alongside the images of her boobs, the 34-year-old wrote,
- 12:22Speaker 1: Holy tits, I can't believe they're mine. I never thought
- 12:25Speaker 1: my figure could look like this after losing nearly 100 kilograms.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I realized almost nine and a half years ago after
- 12:32Speaker 1: my first mummy makeover that my loose skin couldn't be
- 12:35Speaker 1: fully addressed in one go, something no amount of exercise
- 12:39Speaker 1: or training would have been able to fix. I wanted
- 12:42Speaker 1: to wait until I was done having children and had
- 12:44Speaker 1: built some strength back before undergoing such a massive surgery again.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And let me tell you, it was so worth the wait.
- 12:52Speaker 1: She finished the post by outlining the size of the
- 12:55Speaker 1: breast implants and also a snippet of what her husband
- 12:59Speaker 1: Trent texted her. So he said that it was the
- 13:02Speaker 1: best money he's ever spent and he hasn't even seen
- 13:05Speaker 1: them in real life yet. I don't know if we
- 13:07Speaker 1: needed that added there. I don't want to hear that.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I don't really like that or the use of the
- 13:12Speaker 1: word mummy makeover. In saying that, I think it is
- 13:15Speaker 1: good that she's being transparent about the surgeries that she's
- 13:18Speaker 1: had following this dramatic weight loss, because there would be
- 13:21Speaker 1: a lot of people that may be in her position
- 13:24Speaker 1: and be thinking, oh, why has my skin not bounced back?
- 13:26Speaker 1: So I'm glad that she's saying, oh, well, you know,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I've had to do all of these things in order
- 13:29Speaker 1: to look like this. However, calling it a mummy makeover
- 13:32Speaker 1: is It's like, well, that infers that all mums after
- 13:36Speaker 1: having kids need this type of surgery. Yeah, I don't
- 13:38Speaker 1: really like the term mummy makeover because I feel like
- 13:41Speaker 1: there's almost this connotation that you have to fix yourself
- 13:43Speaker 1: after having a child. Yeah, it definitely plays into bounce
- 13:46Speaker 1: back culture in this sense of you have to revert
- 13:49Speaker 1: yourself back to what you were like before, be that
- 13:52Speaker 1: getting a new haircut or makeup or surgery. Now, Simone
- 13:56Speaker 1: must have really read my mind because when I saw
- 13:59Speaker 1: these photos go up on Instagram. I thought, oh God,
- 14:02Speaker 1: what do the people that know her think? Like, what
- 14:03Speaker 1: does her mother-in-law think? And she said, am I worried
- 14:06Speaker 1: about my mother-in-law seeing my boobies online? She was one
- 14:10Speaker 1: of the first people I sent a photo of them to.
- 14:12Speaker 1: So no, lol. How do you feel about that? If
- 14:15Speaker 1: you were getting breast implants, would you feel comfortable to
- 14:18Speaker 1: send your mother-in-law a photo of them? I think the
- 14:21Speaker 1: scenario is a little bit more layered because it was
- 14:23Speaker 1: reconstructive surgery after this dramatic weight loss. It wasn't just like, oh,
- 14:28Speaker 1: I want bigger boobs. It was sort of restoring what
- 14:32Speaker 1: her body was like before she put on the weight
- 14:34Speaker 1: and had the excess skin. Still, I don't know if
- 14:37Speaker 1: I'd be sending a photo to my mother-in-law. I could
- 14:39Speaker 1: more see sending you guys a photo, but I'd still
- 14:42Speaker 1: find that weird. I mean, a couple of my friends
- 14:44Speaker 1: have got breast implants and one friend was open to
- 14:47Speaker 1: sending me a Snapchat of what they looked like. And
- 14:50Speaker 1: I think it's perhaps because they're new and they don't
- 14:52Speaker 1: quite feel like yours yet. I mean, it just depends
- 14:54Speaker 1: how open you are about sharing photos of your body.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I think the weird thing is the whole mother-in-law thing.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It seems a bit taboo to show your mother-in-law your
- 15:03Speaker 1: new boobs. Particularly when your husband's sending you these texts,
- 15:06Speaker 1: ogling them and being like, best money I've ever spent.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Like all good love stories, it started on a box.
- 15:14Speaker 1: There were love hearts sort of popping in the sky.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I think I suddenly slipped off my chair. It came
- 15:19Speaker 1: out of nowhere. You were just upright and then suddenly
- 15:21Speaker 1: you were not.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Suddenly I was off.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Olivia Rogers has revealed she's moving in with her boyfriend
- 15:27Speaker 1: of two years, Hugo Brakey. The former Miss Universe Australia
- 15:31Speaker 1: winner said she's excited for this next chapter and referred
- 15:35Speaker 1: to the business consultant as the love of her life, Kate.
- 15:38Speaker 1: When we spoke about these two a couple of weeks ago,
- 15:41Speaker 1: we said we were on engagement watch. I think that
- 15:43Speaker 1: has just intensified. I am predicting an engagement in the
- 15:47Speaker 1: next couple of weeks. I want to see Olivia in
- 15:49Speaker 1: her bridal era again. And I'm sure there's a lot
- 15:51Speaker 1: of brands who would also like to see her in
- 15:53Speaker 1: that because when she was getting married, I literally wanted
- 15:57Speaker 1: everything she had. I mean, I didn't quite have the
- 15:59Speaker 1: budget to replicate what she had, but... Yeah, even though
- 16:02Speaker 1: the wedding didn't work, I used it as a little
- 16:04Speaker 1: bit of wedding inspo myself. In this post, Olivia seemed
- 16:08Speaker 1: quite emotional about the fact that she was leaving this
- 16:10Speaker 1: apartment because it had become her safe haven after her
- 16:13Speaker 1: divorce because she quickly had to sell the home that
- 16:17Speaker 1: she shared with her ex-husband, Justin McKeon, after their split.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And she actually documented the whole thing, which was quite
- 16:22Speaker 1: interesting at the time. So she wrote, I moved in
- 16:24Speaker 1: here three years ago during one of the hardest chapters
- 16:27Speaker 1: of my life. going through a divorce and trying to
- 16:29Speaker 1: find my feet on my own. This little apartment became
- 16:32Speaker 1: my safe place where I healed, rebuilt and found myself again.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Now I'm leaving to move in with the love of
- 16:38Speaker 1: my life. Forever grateful for the chapter I had in
- 16:41Speaker 1: this place and beyond excited for the next one. Is
- 16:44Speaker 1: it wrong that I'm really nosy to see what Hugo's
- 16:46Speaker 1: house or apartment looks like? Why am I imagining something
- 16:49Speaker 1: quite luxe? Well, why is it necessarily that she's moving
- 16:52Speaker 1: into his place? Like maybe they've got one together. Yeah,
- 16:54Speaker 1: that's a good point. For some reason, I just assumed
- 16:56Speaker 1: that she was shacking up with him in his old place. See,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I think that they're probably going to get a place
- 17:00Speaker 1: together because it's always awkward moving into someone's house or
- 17:03Speaker 1: apartment when they've had it by themselves for quite a
- 17:06Speaker 1: number of years. It feels like their space, whereas you
- 17:08Speaker 1: want a space that's yours. Well, actually, reflecting on the
- 17:11Speaker 1: interview that she did with Hugo a couple of weeks
- 17:13Speaker 1: ago on her old podcast, she said that he lived
- 17:16Speaker 1: with a roommate who, didn't they nickname him Spike from
- 17:20Speaker 1: Notting Hill? Yeah, because they were comparing their relationship to
- 17:23Speaker 1: that of Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in that movie,
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know, the celebrity and the lowly bookshop owner.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Like, I'm not trying to like call anyone out, but Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 2: it's just I feel like I've always had to sort
- 17:37Speaker 2: of do everything. Like, yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough has thrown shade at her baby daddies, declaring
- 17:44Speaker 1: she has always felt like a single mum. Appearing on
- 17:47Speaker 1: the debut episode of her sister Emily's podcast, Tammy didn't
- 17:51Speaker 1: hold back when asked about the struggles of motherhood, Kate. Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 1: I don't think her former fiancé Matt Paul will be
- 17:57Speaker 1: too pleased. Rhys Hawkins either, but I think he's used
- 18:01Speaker 1: to being called out about his parenting since moving to Bali.
- 18:04Speaker 1: But it's a different case for Matt Paul because he's
- 18:07Speaker 1: always gotten a bit of a good guy edit. Often
- 18:09Speaker 1: I think it's in contrast to Reese. Yeah, well, to
- 18:12Speaker 1: be fair to Matt, he does have split custody of
- 18:14Speaker 1: their daughter Posey and he very much appears to be
- 18:17Speaker 1: in her life. He posts a lot of content about her.
- 18:19Speaker 1: That makes a big difference. And from the outside looking in,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it seemed like the two were on pretty good terms.
- 18:25Speaker 1: That was until Tammy announced her divorce from Matt Sikowsky
- 18:29Speaker 1: and cracks started appearing. Because it seems like Matt Paul
- 18:33Speaker 1: has sided with Matt Sikowsky. There's been a few Instagram
- 18:36Speaker 1: comments alluding to it, not to mention Matt and his
- 18:39Speaker 1: partner Annalise liking that parody video that you touched on
- 18:43Speaker 1: earlier in this podcast. Yeah, the two Matts budding relationship
- 18:47Speaker 1: seems really odd to me. It's kind of like they
- 18:49Speaker 1: both caught up to bitch about their ex. That's sort
- 18:51Speaker 1: of the vibes of what's going on here. Now, Tammy's
- 18:54Speaker 1: tone towards Matt has definitely changed publicly. While discussing the
- 18:59Speaker 1: challenges of motherhood on this podcast, Tammy revealed that she
- 19:03Speaker 1: always felt like a single mom, even when she was
- 19:06Speaker 1: in a relationship with her kids' fathers. Let's have a
- 19:09Speaker 1: listen to what she said. I still bring Rosie to
- 19:12Speaker 1: the office with me.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I feel like even in like my like past relationships,
- 19:18Speaker 2: I've sort of always felt like a single mom. Like
- 19:21Speaker 2: I feel like I never really had a partner that
- 19:26Speaker 2: I felt actually helped me in that sense as like
- 19:30Speaker 2: you know, like a co-parent.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Now she went on to say that she wasn't trying
- 19:34Speaker 1: to call anyone out, but she feels like she's always
- 19:37Speaker 1: had to do everything. I felt so sorry for her
- 19:40Speaker 1: when I heard this, because I just can't even comprehend
- 19:44Speaker 1: one being a mom at that age. Like she was
- 19:46Speaker 1: only 19 when she had her first child and having
- 19:49Speaker 1: to navigate all of these breakups and holding it together
- 19:53Speaker 1: for these young kids. It's just incredible what she's gone through.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Well, Amy actually revealed after Tammy's breakup, presumably with Reese Hawkins,
- 20:01Speaker 1: that she moved in with her to help with a
- 20:03Speaker 1: young Wolf and Saskia. The other interesting part of this
- 20:06Speaker 1: episode was when they discussed whether they would let their
- 20:09Speaker 1: kids have social media or not. Emily seemed more passionate
- 20:13Speaker 1: than the others about it. She said that she loves
- 20:15Speaker 1: the new social media ban that's coming into effect for
- 20:18Speaker 1: kids under 16 and that under no circumstance would she
- 20:22Speaker 1: allow her kids to have it. You know, when someone's
- 20:23Speaker 1: really passionate about something, it felt like Amy and Tammy
- 20:26Speaker 1: couldn't really disagree. So they said, yeah, they wouldn't let
- 20:28Speaker 1: their kids have social media, which I was kind of thinking, well,
- 20:31Speaker 1: what's the difference? Because you put them on your own
- 20:33Speaker 1: social media platforms. Well, it was weird because Tammy said
- 20:36Speaker 1: that she wouldn't, but then she admitted that Wolf actually
- 20:39Speaker 1: wants to start up his own YouTube channel. Let's have
- 20:41Speaker 1: a listen to what she said.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Wolf is like begging me to start a YouTube channel.
- 20:49Speaker 3: He'd actually be really good.
- 20:49Speaker 2: And I'm like low-key, I want to just be like, yeah, sure.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Like play with toys on there?
- 20:53Speaker 2: I don't even know.
- 20:54Speaker 1: They film me with their iPad.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I swear he like has a YouTube channel that he's
- 20:58Speaker 2: like secretly uploading.
- 21:00Speaker 1: What's his username?
- 21:01Speaker 2: Do you know? No, he definitely does not actually have one.
- 21:04Speaker 2: But he does just like vlog on his iPad around
- 21:08Speaker 2: the house. Like not anywhere. Low-key, he would actually be
- 21:12Speaker 2: really good.
- 21:13Speaker 1: He actually would. Because he's such a character. Do we
- 21:16Speaker 1: reckon he does have a secret YouTube channel somewhere? Because
- 21:19Speaker 1: if he does, I'm sure a lot of media publications
- 21:21Speaker 1: would love to get their hands on the content he's
- 21:23Speaker 1: putting out there about his mum. Oh, I mean, us included.
- 21:26Speaker 1: We would very much like to see that content. It
- 21:29Speaker 1: was pretty funny because Tammy and Emily said that their
- 21:31Speaker 1: kids love watching their vlogs. I mean, I remember growing
- 21:35Speaker 1: up and loving watching old family videos. I suppose it's
- 21:37Speaker 1: the same thing, except millions of people don't see it. Well,
- 21:40Speaker 1: Sarah's Day said her son, Fox, loves watching his own
- 21:44Speaker 1: birth vlog. So it'd be pretty cool. It would be
- 21:46Speaker 1: really cool. I mean, just not everyone seeing it. Like
- 21:49Speaker 1: if your parents back in the day actually filmed all
- 21:51Speaker 1: the lead up to your birth, if you could watch
- 21:53Speaker 1: that privately, it would be great. But I don't think
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'd want it out there for everyone to see. What
- 21:57Speaker 1: did you think about this first episode of Emily's podcast? Look,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I don't want to be mean, but I think the
- 22:04Speaker 1: two questions that we covered really saved the whole episode
- 22:07Speaker 1: because it was a bit of a snoresville otherwise. I
- 22:09Speaker 1: just felt like Nova gave Emily a bunch of really
- 22:12Speaker 1: basic motherhood questions and they were trying to be really
- 22:14Speaker 1: PC about it all. See, I actually quite enjoyed it
- 22:17Speaker 1: because I don't normally hear Tammy and her sisters talking
- 22:21Speaker 1: about motherhood. And at the moment, it's a bit of
- 22:23Speaker 1: my Roman empire. I love hearing about how people, particularly
- 22:27Speaker 1: people in the public eye and people who run their
- 22:29Speaker 1: own businesses are coping having children. So I kind of
- 22:34Speaker 1: related to it as much as I could. I just
- 22:37Speaker 1: found it a little bit boring. I mean, I have
- 22:39Speaker 1: heard Tammy interviewed quite a lot. I just didn't feel
- 22:42Speaker 1: like they gave heaps. Like I think that they warmed up,
- 22:45Speaker 1: but I'm looking forward to part two because I think
- 22:48Speaker 1: there's going to be room for redemption. It sounds like
- 22:50Speaker 1: it's going to be a lot more interesting because Emily
- 22:52Speaker 1: said they're going to go deep on topics they haven't
- 22:54Speaker 1: discussed online before, including heartbreak, grieving and loss. So I'm
- 22:59Speaker 1: expecting big things.
- 23:00Speaker 3: But in all honesty, I have been struggling.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Saffron Barker has admitted her move to Dubai has put
- 23:07Speaker 1: pressure on her relationship with her boyfriend, Josh Milne. The
- 23:11Speaker 1: couple made the move from the UK to Dubai just
- 23:13Speaker 1: eight months into their relationship. Now, for some background, Josh
- 23:17Speaker 1: is a 23-year-old Scottish model who lived in Dubai during
- 23:21Speaker 1: his teenage years. When he and Saffron first got together,
- 23:25Speaker 1: he moved so quickly into her mansion in Brighton. Everyone
- 23:28Speaker 1: was like getting whiplash from the whole thing. And he
- 23:31Speaker 1: seemed to really integrate himself into her life with her family. Yeah.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I was like, Saffron's mum, Wendy, is going to love
- 23:38Speaker 1: him because he is all about Saffron and their family.
- 23:41Speaker 1: It's quite clear that's what they've been looking for because
- 23:44Speaker 1: Saffron is the type of person who on her podcast
- 23:47Speaker 1: spoke about how the fact that if you're a girl,
- 23:50Speaker 1: your boyfriend should come and spend Christmas day with you
- 23:53Speaker 1: and your family. They shouldn't agree with her. No, I
- 23:55Speaker 1: think that you have to see both families. Oh, I'm
- 23:58Speaker 1: just joking. I mean, as you say, though, Kate, Saffron
- 24:01Speaker 1: is incredibly family orientated. She has built this mega mansion
- 24:06Speaker 1: at Brighton, which is just down the road from her parents.
- 24:08Speaker 1: She also lives very close to her two brothers and
- 24:11Speaker 1: their partners who also live in the same suburb. In fact,
- 24:15Speaker 1: her sister-in-law recently just moved back to Brighton because they
- 24:19Speaker 1: started a business together, so a pajama brand. So she
- 24:22Speaker 1: would have been absolutely spewing to find out that Saffron
- 24:24Speaker 1: was moving to the Middle East. Yeah, so this move
- 24:27Speaker 1: really shocked everyone, including her followers. Saffron has always spoken
- 24:31Speaker 1: about wanting to pursue an acting career, which meant she
- 24:33Speaker 1: would live part-time in LA and part-time in the UK.
- 24:37Speaker 1: But she never mentioned the prospect of moving to the
- 24:40Speaker 1: Middle East. And when Saffron announced the move to her followers,
- 24:44Speaker 1: she explained that Josh had had to slot himself into
- 24:47Speaker 1: her life and move into her house. And it was
- 24:49Speaker 1: time for them to move somewhere where they were on
- 24:52Speaker 1: more of an even playing field. However, it became quite
- 24:55Speaker 1: apparent early on that moving to Dubai was actually Josh's dream.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Because as you touched on, Kate, he lived there as
- 25:01Speaker 1: a teenager. And we later found out in Saffron's vlogs
- 25:05Speaker 1: that his dad actually still lives there, as well as
- 25:07Speaker 1: a lot of his friends from childhood who they've subsequently
- 25:10Speaker 1: been hanging out with. So it doesn't really seem to
- 25:12Speaker 1: be this even playing field. It seems like Saffron is
- 25:15Speaker 1: now having to slot herself into his life, which seems
- 25:17Speaker 1: quite established in Dubai. Yeah, and it seems like it's
- 25:20Speaker 1: starting to cause a bit of friction because in Saffron's
- 25:22Speaker 1: recent YouTube video, she opened up about how she was
- 25:25Speaker 1: coping with the move. So she titled the video, I
- 25:28Speaker 1: have been struggling lately. Let's take a listen to some
- 25:31Speaker 1: of what she said.
- 25:32Speaker 3: But in all honesty, I have been struggling because I just,
- 25:37Speaker 3: somebody who honestly can't survive without routine. Like I have
- 25:42Speaker 3: to have a routine and I have to be productive
- 25:44Speaker 3: and I have to be doing things. And if I'm not,
- 25:46Speaker 3: that's just really stressful. It sounds ridiculous. But even like
- 25:50Speaker 3: when I go and do like things that you should
- 25:52Speaker 3: just enjoy and be in the moment, all I'm constantly
- 25:54Speaker 3: doing is thinking about the next thing. And I think
- 25:56Speaker 3: that's something I definitely do need to work on. You know,
- 25:58Speaker 3: if Josh and I are on holiday and we're laying
- 26:00Speaker 3: around the beach, all I'm thinking about is how I
- 26:02Speaker 3: want to be working. which I know it's like a
- 26:04Speaker 3: little bit weird because my mind just honestly doesn't switch
- 26:07Speaker 3: off and I definitely do need to learn to teach
- 26:10Speaker 3: myself that and learn to have balance. But yeah, where,
- 26:13Speaker 3: We just haven't had like furniture and we've been moving around.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Even though we've been in this place now for maybe
- 26:20Speaker 3: over a month, we've had like people come and stay
- 26:22Speaker 3: with us and I've been traveling a lot and it's
- 26:24Speaker 3: still just, we still just haven't like got ourselves into
- 26:26Speaker 3: a routine. And let me tell you, we're not there.
- 26:28Speaker 3: We are so far from it. And it's definitely been
- 26:30Speaker 3: putting like way more pressure on our relationship as well because,
- 26:34Speaker 3: you know, like, neither of us have really been living
- 26:36Speaker 3: like a reality if that makes sense because we've kind
- 26:39Speaker 3: of just been like here there and everywhere and although
- 26:42Speaker 3: moving to Dubai is probably one of the easiest places
- 26:44Speaker 3: you can move to it's still obviously a long process
- 26:47Speaker 3: and there's lots you've got to do and you know
- 26:49Speaker 3: finding your feet and stuff like that and just meeting
- 26:52Speaker 3: new people and not having your family and friends here
- 26:54Speaker 3: like it just yeah it's just a whole different.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Experience I was really surprised to hear her admit the
- 27:00Speaker 1: toll that this move has actually put on their relationship
- 27:03Speaker 1: in saying that it's not surprising at all. Even if
- 27:07Speaker 1: you have the strongest relationship, if you are living in
- 27:10Speaker 1: a different country with one person you've only known for
- 27:13Speaker 1: a couple of months and you're in this young relationship,
- 27:17Speaker 1: there are always going to be arguments. You don't have
- 27:19Speaker 1: any outside source to speak to or complain or vent to.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I found it interesting that she referenced that they're not currently,
- 27:26Speaker 1: you know, living a normal life, like living the reality
- 27:29Speaker 1: that most people do and that's a problem. Because you
- 27:32Speaker 1: would think for a lot of couples that if you
- 27:36Speaker 1: got to go traveling all the time and you got
- 27:38Speaker 1: to party and eat whatever you want and have family
- 27:42Speaker 1: staying over and friends staying over, that that would be
- 27:44Speaker 1: like a honeymoon period for most couples. But she's saying
- 27:47Speaker 1: that she's craving the stability that they used to have
- 27:50Speaker 1: at Brighton. But to me, what she's craving is having
- 27:53Speaker 1: her family there. I also think it has a lot
- 27:55Speaker 1: to do with her career, though, because she has been
- 27:58Speaker 1: incredibly career focused ever since she started her channel as
- 28:01Speaker 1: a teenager. And as we touched on in the past
- 28:04Speaker 1: couple of years, she has set herself some pretty lofty
- 28:06Speaker 1: goals when it comes to acting. And it seems like
- 28:09Speaker 1: this move to Dubai has meant that she hasn't been
- 28:12Speaker 1: able to focus on it. And maybe there's a bit
- 28:14Speaker 1: of resentment creeping in. It seems like this move to
- 28:17Speaker 1: Dubai is all about Josh and what he wants to
- 28:19Speaker 1: do and maybe some modeling opportunities around there. I also
- 28:24Speaker 1: think for her, she's very into fitness and she said
- 28:27Speaker 1: that she's finding that they are falling into bad habits.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So her boyfriend, Josh, doesn't like to get up early
- 28:33Speaker 1: in the morning, whereas she likes to do a lot
- 28:34Speaker 1: of early morning exercise classes. I mean, when you move
- 28:37Speaker 1: in with someone, you truly find out their bad habits
- 28:40Speaker 1: and maybe the fact that you're potentially not on the
- 28:42Speaker 1: same page. Now, some of Saffron's followers weighed in on
- 28:45Speaker 1: the comment section of the YouTube One user wrote, I
- 28:48Speaker 1: feel you are so out of your comfort zone in Dubai.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Sometimes that's not a bad thing, but I can't help
- 28:53Speaker 1: think you need to go back to the UK. I'm
- 28:55Speaker 1: worried about Saffron. She is one of my favorite influencers
- 28:58Speaker 1: and I couldn't help but feel like she just looked
- 29:00Speaker 1: really sad in her YouTube video. There was this sadness
- 29:04Speaker 1: in her eyes that I haven't seen before. Is it
- 29:06Speaker 1: a bit of a cry for help or sort of
- 29:09Speaker 1: dropping hints that she will be moving back soon to
- 29:11Speaker 1: the UK? The sad thing is I actually really like
- 29:14Speaker 1: her and Josh together as a couple. They complement each
- 29:16Speaker 1: other really well. I think it's just clear that they're
- 29:18Speaker 1: both very young and potentially just a bit selfish. I
- 29:22Speaker 1: think anyone's selfish at that age. Yeah, but do we
- 29:25Speaker 1: think that she's going to be back in the UK
- 29:26Speaker 1: long term soon? I don't know. I really don't know.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'd like to see her move back and then move
- 29:32Speaker 1: back together, but it just seems like they're in a
- 29:34Speaker 1: bit of a struggle at the moment. Well, that is
- 29:36Speaker 1: where we're going to leave things today. If you do
- 29:39Speaker 1: enjoy the podcast, we drop a subscriber-only episode, which is
- 29:42Speaker 1: basically an extension of this show, every Thursday. All the
- 29:46Speaker 1: details to sign up are in our show notes. It's
- 29:48Speaker 1: just $ 5. 99 a month for an extra episode every week.
- 29:51Speaker 1: This episode was recorded on the traditional land of the
- 29:54Speaker 1: Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to
- 29:56Speaker 1: elders past and present.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So you
