- 0:14It's time for Bantor with the Boys.
- 0:19What's up everybody?
- 0:31Welcome back to Bantor with the Boys.
- 0:33As always I have Mr. Smelty with me here today.
- 0:36How you doing?
- 0:37How you feeling?
- 0:38Feeling pretty nice.
- 0:40Just another Tuesday of a generic week for me.
- 0:44But yeah, just ready to talk some more NFL like always.
- 0:48Absolutely brother.
- 0:49Couldn't be here today without Mr. Kevin behind the X's and the O's.
- 0:53We always do appreciate you brother.
- 0:55And before we get into the meat and potatoes here, as always people, like, comment, subscribe.
- 1:00We want all the followers, all the listens we can get.
- 1:04But we did have week 11 come and go Mr. Smelty.
- 1:06Pretty good week of football.
- 1:08Not a lot of huge surprises.
- 1:10Not a, well a couple of big disappointments in terms of some injuries that we will touch
- 1:13on.
- 1:14But let's get it started.
- 1:15We're going to start the slate here with my Packers hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.
- 1:22The Packers were actually a three point underdog in this game.
- 1:26And my Packers came out and won.
- 1:2823-20.
- 1:29It was a pretty good game throughout.
- 1:31You know, not too terribly overly exciting.
- 1:33There wasn't a lot of big wow plays.
- 1:37Nothing of that sort.
- 1:38You know, the Packers offense did seem to come alive a little bit.
- 1:41But the Chargers I would say more lost this game than the Packers necessarily won it.
- 1:45You know, they should have had a touchdown on the final drive.
- 1:47The final essentially, you know, what ended up being one of the final plays for the Chargers
- 1:50on offense with Quinton Johnson dropping that pass that, you know, might not necessarily
- 1:56been a touchdown, but would have been, you know, getting them down the field and gave
- 1:59them a better shot than they did end up having.
- 2:01Were you able to catch this game at all?
- 2:04I saw a little bit of it of course since it is the Packers for whatever reason.
- 2:08As much as I do absolutely hate the green and gold, I do follow them weirdly enough
- 2:14and keep up on them.
- 2:15I appreciate their history.
- 2:17So yeah, I did watch a little bit of this game.
- 2:21Like, yeah, kind of like you said, nothing really jumped out or was glaring for me personally.
- 2:27One thing that was a little concerning and we'll touch on it later, though, Aaron Jones
- 2:31leaving the game.
- 2:34When did he leave the game?
- 2:35Do you remember what like what quarter that was?
- 2:37I can't remember exactly, but I want to say it was the third.
- 2:40Because OK, if it was the third, let's say it was.
- 2:43I don't know.
- 2:44But four carries for Aaron Jones again, that seems kind of low.
- 2:48I mean, he had left a little bit earlier or maybe he was feeling it a little earlier.
- 2:52So they shut him down a little earlier before he was officially like out.
- 2:56But I mean, I feel like.
- 3:00I mean, as a team, Green Bay still ran for one hundred and two yards.
- 3:02But I feel like that Russian game is still not there yet.
- 3:06And I think that's only going to help their offense.
- 3:08Yeah.
- 3:09So it was actually the second quarter, the second quarter.
- 3:11I just looked it up as we went out.
- 3:13Yeah.
- 3:14And you know, you're right.
- 3:15We had 28 carries.
- 3:17That's nice to see.
- 3:18Love still threw the ball 40 times, which is a little bit more than I would like.
- 3:21However, he did complete 27 of them, you know, not a terrible completion percentage, especially
- 3:26with his recent trends.
- 3:28Right.
- 3:29And what I what I saw from love that game is again, the ability to be able to get outside
- 3:35the pocket and still create plays.
- 3:37You're still seeing flashes of that.
- 3:39I mean, I think we still obviously need to see more.
- 3:42He did enough to win this game.
- 3:44But kind of like you said, I think it was more or less the Chargers lost this game.
- 3:48Forty attempts for love.
- 3:49I mean, that's a lot.
- 3:50But I don't know.
- 3:51I think they just really got to somehow get that Russian game going a little more.
- 3:55Yeah.
- 3:56I mean, it also didn't help that not only did we lose Aaron Jones, we lost A.J.
- 3:59Dillon and we did also lose the third string, Emmanuel Wilson for a little bit there.
- 4:03So actually, I'm sorry, A.J.
- 4:04Dillon did not go down, but we lost Emmanuel Wilson, who is similar to that Aaron Jones
- 4:08type back that gives him a little bit of that scat back ability where A.J.
- 4:12Dillon is obviously a downhill runner.
- 4:14So I mean, but you look at Dillon, 14 carries for 29 yards.
- 4:17That's been pretty on par with how the season has gone.
- 4:20And you know, love through for three hundred and twenty two yards.
- 4:24So he had a good game, you know, 108.5 quarterback rating.
- 4:28Didn't make any mistakes.
- 4:29He did have two fumbles, but it wasn't, you know, he was he was under pressure quite a
- 4:35bit in the game and only getting sacked three times.
- 4:39That kind of surprises me a little bit with how ferocious that D line is for the Chargers.
- 4:43However, they did lose Joey Bosa, which we'll touch on later.
- 4:46Yeah.
- 4:47But to me, I mean, like I said, I mean, Herbert didn't have a game that would necessarily
- 4:51wow you to tuds and 260.
- 4:54But the Packers cannot stop the run.
- 4:57You look at even Justin Herbert, that he was just getting outside of the pocket and, you
- 5:00know, he had 73 rushes on 88 on eight carries.
- 5:03Yeah.
- 5:04He had three yards on eight carries.
- 5:05They were not ready for Herbie to to run the rocket at all.
- 5:09I mean, every time he escaped the pocket, they did not collapse down on him at all.
- 5:13I mean, they just let him.
- 5:14I wonder what his average was because he nine point one yards per carry.
- 5:18Was it OK?
- 5:19Because it seemed like he always had green in front of him.
- 5:22Every time he was looking to run, he had the green in front of them.
- 5:25They just didn't close down on him fast enough.
- 5:28But I actually I actually have a packer question for you.
- 5:31I'm going to butcher his name, guaranteed, but who is this?
- 5:35Don Tavian Wicks.
- 5:36Is that how I say his name?
- 5:38Don Tavian.
- 5:39Good job is Don Tavian Wicks.
- 5:40He was that cat, dude.
- 5:42I haven't heard of him before.
- 5:45I don't know.
- 5:46Who is that?
- 5:47What do we expect from him?
- 5:49I've been pretty impressed with him.
- 5:50So I actually saw a report.
- 5:53It was I believe last week going into last week that he was the actual according to pro
- 5:59football focus with whatever minimum steps that he was actually it was creating the most
- 6:03separation out of any receiver in the NFL.
- 6:05He's a fifth round pick.
- 6:06He's a rookie this year.
- 6:07So he's a rookie this year.
- 6:10Where?
- 6:11You know, college, Virginia.
- 6:12Did you say college?
- 6:13College.
- 6:14We went to Virginia.
- 6:15Oh, I thought you said like, where is he from?
- 6:16And I thought your answer is just college.
- 6:17I mean, that's fair.
- 6:18No, but but to be honest with you, I mean, I was going to touch on that as well.
- 6:27It's I've been really impressed with him, to be honest with you.
- 6:29You know, it's as a rookie, you're not going to come in and know the offense right away
- 6:32to get those early season targets and looks.
- 6:34But he's kind of come on the last couple of games and had some big plays, you know, and
- 6:39it's he's impressed.
- 6:42He's creating the separation that Christian Watson is not.
- 6:45And I just I think we need to get him more involved.
- 6:47You look at our two rookie receivers this year, Dantavion Wicks and then Jaden Reed.
- 6:51Oh, you know, they've been they've been pretty damn good for rookie receivers for the Packers.
- 6:57And I think Wicks needs more opportunity.
- 6:59I think he kind of proved that in this game a little bit more.
- 7:02And I mean, at the end of the day, PFF has a stat for everything, but you can't argue
- 7:06creating separation.
- 7:07Well, no doubt.
- 7:08And then when you have three receptions for 91 yards, you're creating separation, obviously,
- 7:15in order to create some more of that yak, if you will, the yards after catch.
- 7:20But who is the who is that Tucker Kraft?
- 7:24Is that another tight end for you guys?
- 7:26Yeah, OK, that was one of the two rookies we drafted this year.
- 7:28OK, yeah.
- 7:29Well, I mean, what I like seeing is, you know, I see here Tucker Kraft with two targets.
- 7:33I mean, he caught both those balls Musgrave with another six targets.
- 7:37I mean, I like that we're starting to see Jordan Love start to find his tight ends a
- 7:40little more.
- 7:41And like I said, I could I could be wrong.
- 7:43You know, maybe that's not the case as the season's gone on.
- 7:46But this game, it really felt like he's really starting to find those tight ends.
- 7:49And I mean, I think that's a great thing.
- 7:51I mean, they're your third down first, you know, chain mover guys.
- 7:55You know what I mean?
- 7:56Them and like slot guys.
- 7:57But your tight ends, you got you got to be able to get that relationship with them.
- 8:00Yeah, most certainly.
- 8:01You know, and they weren't involved in the early portion of the year.
- 8:04It's our two best tight ends coming into the year.
- 8:07Two rookies that we drafted in, and I believe is the second round from Musgrave in the fifth
- 8:11round for Kraft.
- 8:13And fun fact about Taylor Kraft.
- 8:15Sorry, Tucker Kraft.
- 8:17She was actually David Bakhtiari's partner in the Busting with the Boys Beer Olympics
- 8:20this year.
- 8:21So that's where I kind of learned about him.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:24But I mean, not only that, it's Jordan Love seems like he's seen the field more.
- 8:28You look at the he completed a ball to 10 different receivers this game, which is quite
- 8:32impressive with somebody that, you know, hasn't really been that productive going through
- 8:37and looking at his reads.
- 8:38He seemed he is like looking for that tight end, looking for that dump down where he's
- 8:42not just forcing the ball in the spots he shouldn't be forcing to the ball.
- 8:46And I think that's the biggest improvement I've seen in his game the last two weeks.
- 8:49And he's looked pretty damn good the last two.
- 8:51Yeah, no doubt.
- 8:52And I mean, this game, he kind of looked like the guy on the other side of the ball, Justin
- 8:55Herbert.
- 8:56I mean, Herbert's been kind of, you know, figuring it out as the years gone as the as
- 9:01she's a wheeze as the season has gone on.
- 9:05Herbert has been kind of figuring it out, getting more on a roll.
- 9:08But this game from Herbert and I mean, the Chargers as a whole, the word mediocre comes
- 9:13to mind.
- 9:14And we'll talk about that word a little bit later.
- 9:16But I mean, the Chargers got to be the most mediocre team in the league.
- 9:19I mean, they're they're so they're almost they're so comfortable being in every single
- 9:24game, but it's literally a coin flip if they're going to pull it off or not.
- 9:27Yeah, to me, the biggest word that comes to mind is disappointment.
- 9:30You look at the expectations they had come into this year.
- 9:32It's not a personnel lack of at this point.
- 9:36They have foundational pieces at every single step of both the defense and the offense.
- 9:42I just don't think Brandon Staley is a head coach in the NFL.
- 9:45But that part, 100 percent, because my expectation of the Chargers is to challenge Casey.
- 9:51I don't think you're going to beat out Casey for the division, but you should be challenging
- 9:55them 100 percent.
- 9:58I yeah, I agree with you.
- 10:01Some of the almost not to use my own word, but some of the bonehead moves by by their
- 10:06coach this season has just been unacceptable.
- 10:08Yeah, most certainly, most certainly.
- 10:10And it's just I think this is Staley's last go at it just because I mean, like I said,
- 10:15they have foundational pieces across the board.
- 10:17We're ashamed.
- 10:18We're Sean Slater on the offensive line.
- 10:19You got a foundational talent or foundational like a general almost.
- 10:24I would.
- 10:25It's on the verge of arguing generational talent that behind center.
- 10:28You have Keenan Allen on the outside on defense.
- 10:30You got Mac and Bosa and then you got Derwin James in the secondary.
- 10:34Like what what more like foundation do you need than that?
- 10:38And they just can't seem to put it together.
- 10:40Yeah, they definitely have the right guys in the right places.
- 10:43I think it's got to be a coaching thing at this point with the Chargers.
- 10:47And it just they seem like they're out coached in every single game.
- 10:50It's not just one here or there.
- 10:52It's they're out coached in every single game.
- 10:54And when they do pull off a victory, that's the players given a shit.
- 10:58Like we're not losing another game this week or what have you.
- 11:01So I don't know.
- 11:03That's all I really have to say about the Chargers at this point.
- 11:07They just they got to get their shit together.
- 11:10Yeah.
- 11:11The last thing I just want to touch on in this game is how impressed I am with Carrington
- 11:14Valentine is a cornerback for the Packers drafted in the seventh round this year out
- 11:19of Kentucky.
- 11:20He's kind of he's taken that role of Rasul Douglas's spot now that he's in Buffalo.
- 11:24And then Nixon's been our slot corner.
- 11:26He's been very, very impressive to me.
- 11:28He's not going to jump off the stat sheet, but he had three past deflections this game.
- 11:32And if you look.
- 11:33So so he started this week, then he's been he started the last couple of weeks and he
- 11:36was starting when Jair was hurt.
- 11:37Oh, he was coming in.
- 11:39But I've been pretty impressed with this cat.
- 11:41OK.
- 11:42Yeah.
- 11:43Especially when you have Jair on the other side.
- 11:44So they're not going to target Jair that much.
- 11:45So he's getting, you know, sure, sure.
- 11:47He's getting the ball thrown at him.
- 11:48They're going to test them.
- 11:49Right.
- 11:50They know.
- 11:51So yeah, I was I was I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen on tape for on the field
- 11:54from him.
- 11:55But enough about the Packers Chargers.
- 11:56Packers got the dub for those keeping track at home.
- 11:59Both Smelty and I picked the Chargers to not only win that game last week, but to cover
- 12:03that three point spread.
- 12:05And obviously that did not happen.
- 12:06So that's what I get for rooting against my Packers.
- 12:09Let's jump on to the next game.
- 12:10Your Vikings had a thriller on Sunday night with the resurgent Denver Broncos.
- 12:16You almost had a smell.
- 12:17See, you almost had it.
- 12:18It shouldn't have been a thriller, though.
- 12:20That's the problem.
- 12:21That's the problem I have with it.
- 12:23The Broncos did not play well enough to win that game.
- 12:26It just fell into their pocket, in my opinion.
- 12:29Now, Dobbs looked a little more pedestrian than the past or not this week, which I kind
- 12:35of expected.
- 12:36Right.
- 12:37Again, that first game outdoors with the new team still learning the plays guaranteed.
- 12:42Guys have all summer to learn the plays.
- 12:44My boys had days, now weeks, but he's getting there.
- 12:48It's a process.
- 12:49Right.
- 12:50But to say I'm not disappointed would be a lie.
- 12:54I mean, they the Vikes really needed to pull this game off, especially with Detroit beating
- 12:58the Bears to say in that division race, if you dare call it, I guess I wouldn't really
- 13:04call it that right now.
- 13:06The Vikes are more eyeing up a wild card, I would say at this point as Detroit's running
- 13:10away with it.
- 13:11However, they do got to play Detroit twice.
- 13:13I think those games are going to be hella fun.
- 13:16But looking at this game again, you see the difference that Dobbs can make with his legs.
- 13:22You see it's only eight carries and 21 yards, but those 21 yards were very needed at crucial
- 13:28times.
- 13:29And that's again, something that Kirk Cousins will not give the Vikings.
- 13:32So again, it's just interesting to see that actually in the lineup for the first time
- 13:36since I guess Tavares Jackson.
- 13:39But even looking before that, like Dante Culpepper, you know, a true quarterback that can actually
- 13:45make plays with his legs.
- 13:46So but now let me talk to you about the guys that are actually supposed to and expected
- 13:51to make plays with their legs.
- 13:53Minnesota's running backs.
- 13:54There's still a weird situation here.
- 13:57OK.
- 13:58Alexander Madison has proved to us time and time again this season.
- 14:00He's not the guy.
- 14:01Yes, he had 18 carries, 81 yards, led the team in rushing.
- 14:05Sweet.
- 14:06But you have Ty Chandler sitting at 10 carries for 73 yards.
- 14:11That average is much different.
- 14:12Now the one thing on that is Chandler did have that one long of 31.
- 14:16But in that same sentence, he offers that big playability where Madison does not or
- 14:21has proven or shown this year that he does not.
- 14:23So and again, I'm kind of ready where I was with Akers and obviously we know Akers is
- 14:29done for the season.
- 14:30But kind of let Chandler be that more speed back, that lightning back that you like to
- 14:35call and let Madison be that thunder.
- 14:38You know what I mean?
- 14:39They keep trying to use Madison as that number one every down back right now.
- 14:43And Chandler just seems to come in when Madison needs to be spilled.
- 14:48And I just I think it's I'm ready to see somebody else back there to start the game.
- 14:54I love Madison.
- 14:55I think he's a good human being.
- 14:57I think he can still be something in this league.
- 14:59But I think he needs to get back to that one to a little more consistently first one to
- 15:06speaking like, you know, using two running backs more consistently like when Dalvin was
- 15:10here.
- 15:11But you know, as far as receiving goes, you saw Hawkinson again getting involved in the
- 15:15offense like we expected.
- 15:18Josh Oliver, tight end number two, also with four receptions that game coming up with actually
- 15:23a couple big plays.
- 15:26And then Addison, of course, another thing to see from Dobbs, similar to love, you know,
- 15:32able to find those tight ends.
- 15:34But obviously, he's got to just find whoever the hell is open right now with no JJ.
- 15:38Yeah, for sure.
- 15:39I mean, the story of the game in the in my opinion here was that there's no reason the
- 15:43Vikings should have lost this game.
- 15:45They had more total or team yards than 90 more team yards in the Broncos.
- 15:50They were winning this game going into the fourth quarter.
- 15:53You know, to me, I am guilty of falling asleep towards the end of the third quarter didn't
- 15:57catch the fourth quarter in this one.
- 15:59Dad life.
- 16:00But I just I did not expect to wake up and see that the Broncos won this game.
- 16:05The Vikings had this game the whole time.
- 16:07They did.
- 16:08And honestly, it's it's missed opportunities in the red zone for the Vikings, honestly,
- 16:11settling for the field goals, having to settle for the field goals.
- 16:16And then also, I believe this was the final drive of the game.
- 16:19The Vikings trying to get down into field goal range to even have the opportunity to
- 16:22win Dobbs.
- 16:26It was it was basically, you know, ball snap.
- 16:28Dobbs looked to his right.
- 16:30Hawkinson's out there and Simmons had Hawkinson's number all game anyway.
- 16:36But Simmons jumps the route.
- 16:38Dex Hawkinson, no catch.
- 16:40And then, you know, we we run the ball.
- 16:43So now it's like and get, I don't know, a couple yards.
- 16:45So now it's like third and six, whatever, something like that.
- 16:48We decided to throw that same ball to Hawkinson again.
- 16:51And Simmons does the exact it was the exact same play.
- 16:55Like we're trying to force the ball now to Hawkinson with no JJ on the field.
- 17:01Why I don't know what the hell is going on with that.
- 17:02I would assume Addison was locked up for most of this game with certain.
- 17:06Yeah, I mean, pastor Tain's an absolute monster of a corner.
- 17:10And that's the thing about this Broncos team is like the you're not you can't rule them
- 17:13out just because of how good their defense is.
- 17:16And the other story of the game was three turnovers.
- 17:19You know, you're not really you're not going to win a lot of games in the NFL with a negative
- 17:22three turnover margin in a game.
- 17:25So it's, you know, the the hit on Dobbs from Kareem Jackson, you can argue, is that a penalty
- 17:30or not?
- 17:32He's a running back on that play.
- 17:34He's not a quarterback.
- 17:35I don't think he I don't know.
- 17:37I mean, Kareem Jackson has a history.
- 17:39That's the one thing that makes you really question it.
- 17:41But to me, that that's a football play like you're not going to get the fumble right there.
- 17:45He also led with the crown.
- 17:47That's that's the part that's the main issue, I believe.
- 17:50Do I think that, you know, changes the course of the game?
- 17:52No.
- 17:53Do I think that every game should be on one call?
- 17:56No.
- 17:57You should still play better enough before or after that.
- 17:59But I agree like that could be a factor.
- 18:01Yeah.
- 18:02And I mean, to be honest with you, that whole crown of the helmet thing, it's like I am
- 18:06all for player safety in the NFL, but when we're looking at targeting and leading with
- 18:10the crown of the helmet and all these fines, these NFL running backs are getting right
- 18:14now.
- 18:15I mean, that's how foundationally how you're taught to play football and you're having
- 18:17to reteach that.
- 18:19But to me, the prime example of it is in college football this last week and you had the Boston
- 18:24College defender literally almost swan dive in the air, lead with his head and smoke the
- 18:28receiver in the head.
- 18:30One hundred percent targeting that needs to be eliminated from the NFL.
- 18:33But when Kareem Jackson is leading with the crown of his helmet, yes, did not make head
- 18:37contact with Dobbs, he hit him in the chest.
- 18:39Yeah, it was clear chest, which seems clean.
- 18:42Which is the best way to really cause a fumble in that situation.
- 18:45You're taught to put your head on the ball.
- 18:47Yeah.
- 18:48So to me, it's a modern day NFL.
- 18:49You know, you can't really complain about it too much because that's the direction the
- 18:53NFL is going.
- 18:54We're going to get to this later with the bonehead move of the week and we'll talk a
- 18:56lot about it more in depth.
- 18:58But it's just missed opportunities.
- 19:01Yeah, you say that, but you look at the Broncos, they were one for five with converting red
- 19:05zone opportunities.
- 19:06You know, the Vikings were two for two for four.
- 19:10So you know, not great.
- 19:11You want to confer more than 50 percent of your red zone opportunities.
- 19:14But it's just it's the it's the time timeliness of it, though, when they're missing on these
- 19:20red zone opportunities.
- 19:21Sure.
- 19:22In the clutch or whatever you may call it, the immeasurable time.
- 19:25You know what I mean?
- 19:26And I mean, I guess you can say on the Denver side of the ball, Russell Wilson did enough
- 19:29to get the job done.
- 19:30He didn't look amazing, but he he didn't look bad, actually.
- 19:34He played pretty well for most of the game.
- 19:37Twenty seven for thirty five should win you a good amount of games.
- 19:40You know, throwing for 260, that doesn't scream off the charts at you.
- 19:44But the Broncos had no resemblance of a run game in this game.
- 19:47You know, 15 attempts for 46 yards.
- 19:49The Vikings locked them down in that regard.
- 19:51Now are the Broncos a top tier run team in the NFL?
- 19:54No.
- 19:55But it was up to Russ and Russ is back, man.
- 19:59He's not making those decisions like he was last year.
- 20:01He's not trying to force the ball.
- 20:03He's showing some of that escape ability that he used to once have his deep ball doesn't
- 20:07that moon ball doesn't quite look the same now.
- 20:10But, you know, he's he's putting you in a position to at least win the game and he's
- 20:14not costing you the game like he was last year.
- 20:17So now what's what's the realistic status of Denver for the rest of the season?
- 20:21Like their outlook, you know, can they challenge for an outside wild card spot?
- 20:25I mean, they've won that's four in a row now.
- 20:28I think that defense is going to get you a chance at the playoffs.
- 20:31They need more production out of the run game and they need those receivers to step up a
- 20:35little bit more.
- 20:36Like I said, I don't think Wilson's going to put you in a position to really lose the
- 20:39game.
- 20:40They're also have the benefit of having a pretty weak AFC West.
- 20:43The Raiders aren't anything we've already talking on the talk talked about the Chargers.
- 20:47Chiefs are going to be the chiefs.
- 20:48You know, they they're still going to be great.
- 20:50They don't have, you know, a wildly hard schedule.
- 20:53So I I think they could they could sneak into the wild card spot.
- 20:56It's just the AFC is just so tough right now.
- 20:58It's just so tough right now.
- 20:59Yeah, no doubt.
- 21:00I would agree right there with your with the receiver play.
- 21:03And I mean, you did kind of see it a little bit, you know, in this game.
- 21:07Sutton with the one handed grab late in the game, got the tutty as well.
- 21:11Jerry Judy ran some great routes on Sunday night.
- 21:15So I mean, we'll see.
- 21:17I think I think they could challenge for an outside shot, but they got to they got to
- 21:21keep it going.
- 21:22Like you said, I think they kind of got to ride that defense.
- 21:25And then if Russell Wilson can be, you know, a sliver of himself, they might be all right.
- 21:30I agree.
- 21:31I agree.
- 21:32I think the Broncos could I don't know if they're necessarily going to say they're going
- 21:34to make some noise come playoff time.
- 21:36No, I feel like one and done.
- 21:38I feel like one and done.
- 21:39But who knows?
- 21:40Yeah, most certainly.
- 21:41Most certainly.
- 21:42Well, let's move on.
- 21:43For the record, I had Denver actually covering that spread.
- 21:49Smelty had the Vikings winning that game.
- 21:51Sorry, we had them not necessarily winning, but covering.
- 21:54So they did lose by one.
- 21:55So they did cover that spread.
- 21:57So as it stands right now, we are I'm down.
- 22:00Smelty, you are up one at four, two.
- 22:03I am over two so far on the slate.
- 22:04But let's move on.
- 22:05We have the Bengals traveling to Baltimore, taking on the Ravens.
- 22:10The Ravens were indeed a three and a half point favorite in this game.
- 22:12I chose the Ravens to cover that spread.
- 22:14You thought the Bengals weren't necessarily going to win, but we're going to cover that
- 22:17story of the game.
- 22:18Smelty will get right into it.
- 22:20Joe Burrow tore a ligament in his hand.
- 22:23He's out for the year, man.
- 22:24Yeah, I mean, that's unfortunate.
- 22:26And in a very competitive division right now, that almost solidifies the Bengals as being
- 22:32out of that race.
- 22:34You just hate to see it.
- 22:35And we've seen it so many times this season already, which is super weird.
- 22:38A lot of superstars going down.
- 22:41And that just like I said, I can't say it enough.
- 22:44It just sucks to see, you know.
- 22:46So who came in?
- 22:47Jake Browning was it?
- 22:48Jake Browning.
- 22:49So Jake Browning.
- 22:51Maybe not Joey B. But I will say he didn't look that bad.
- 22:58Obviously your play calling is going to change with any quarterback that goes in there after
- 23:02Joe Burrow.
- 23:03He's not going to be able to do Joe Burrow shit.
- 23:05So but what he did, what he did show me, though, is he showed me some decent pocket presence,
- 23:10right?
- 23:11Just seeing how he could feel the pressure around him stepping up, getting out, whatever
- 23:15he had to do.
- 23:16He did show some of that.
- 23:18And you could see him going through his reads.
- 23:22I don't know.
- 23:23I'm curious to see how he plays after a week of practice as the starter.
- 23:28If they decide they're going to go with him as a starter.
- 23:30I'd imagine they are.
- 23:31Yeah, they most certainly are.
- 23:33He's a second year player out of Washington.
- 23:35So you can't expect too much from him, especially without a week of practice.
- 23:39He was forcing the ball to Jamarra a little bit too much, in my opinion.
- 23:42But in the same sentence, what are you going to do?
- 23:44They have one of a top four receiver in the NFL, unquestionably a top four receiver in
- 23:48the NFL.
- 23:49Like throw the ball at him.
- 23:50But you look at Jamarra, two catches, 12 yards on seven targets.
- 23:54Like the Ravens locked him down pretty good.
- 23:56They really did.
- 23:57But yeah, I was quite impressed with Browning, how he came in.
- 23:59He showed some poise.
- 24:00He didn't seem like the stage was too big.
- 24:01Now, I mean, the game got out of hand pretty quick in this one.
- 24:05So he got to take everything with a grain of salt.
- 24:08Baltimore just capitalized on it.
- 24:10That's all that was.
- 24:11That's what I mean.
- 24:12It's going to be a week in practice, knowing you're starting and, you know, with with those
- 24:17receivers.
- 24:18I'm just curious to see if it's any different.
- 24:20Yeah, most certainly.
- 24:21Most certainly.
- 24:22I am.
- 24:23I'm excited to see what he kind of does as well, because they have all the pieces again.
- 24:27But then you switch over to the other side of the ball here.
- 24:28The Ravens also suffered a big loss with Mark Andrews going down.
- 24:32Didn't seem to really slow him down in this game, you know, with the running game coming
- 24:35back alive.
- 24:36One hundred and fifty seven yards total with Gus Edwards kind of showing what he does this
- 24:39year with those two touchdowns.
- 24:41And then Lamar kind of looked back to form in the pocket and passing as well.
- 24:45You know, he's 16 for 26, 264 and two tuds.
- 24:48So all the speculation or whatever, he's always going to get that because he's Lamar and everybody
- 24:54views him as a running quarterback.
- 24:55But he's proven time and time again that he is a good quarterback in the NFL and can throw
- 24:59the ball.
- 25:01Everybody's going to throw a dud once in a while.
- 25:02A hundred percent.
- 25:03And I mean, that stat line, right?
- 25:0616 for 26, 264, two tuds.
- 25:08I mean, it's not anything amazing, but if you watch the game and watch him throw the
- 25:14ball, man, did Lamar look comfortable in the pocket straight up.
- 25:18He has looked more comfortable every single week to me.
- 25:21Yeah, he really has.
- 25:22He really has.
- 25:23I mean, I don't think really much more needs to be said about this one.
- 25:27You know, like I said, the Ravens won pretty handily.
- 25:29OBJ 116 on four receptions.
- 25:33Yeah, he had that 51 yarder that that was huge.
- 25:37I love to see it, brother.
- 25:38I've always been an OBJ fan.
- 25:39I love it.
- 25:40I love it.
- 25:41And then and then you got then you got his buddy Zay Flowers, man.
- 25:45Zay Flowers is so fricking dangerous in the open field.
- 25:49That was just the last thing I wanted to say.
- 25:51I think they threw just a slant or something short, right?
- 25:54But then he made the play with his feet.
- 25:55Kind of reminds me of Stefan Diggs a little bit.
- 25:57But like just how shifty he is in the open field.
- 26:01And I hate using shifty because I used it a shit ton last week.
- 26:04But he is, dude.
- 26:05He's got the fastest feet to me in the NFL.
- 26:08Just how he can stop on a dime.
- 26:10Boom, boom.
- 26:11You know what I mean?
- 26:12Like he's just and of course, listener, you're not going to know what I mean.
- 26:14But like, you know, his cuts, just everything.
- 26:17He's so fast.
- 26:18He has the fastest feet in the NFL to me.
- 26:20Yeah, straight up.
- 26:21I don't know if I'd give him that crown over Devante yet.
- 26:25Over Devante Adams?
- 26:26Yeah.
- 26:27Zay Flowers?
- 26:28Yes.
- 26:29You wild.
- 26:30Yes.
- 26:31Sorry.
- 26:32Yes.
- 26:33Wild.
- 26:34Dude, I'm telling you, bro.
- 26:35I love to see it.
- 26:36I'm curious if Zay can if he can build on that or if that's what we're going to get,
- 26:41if it gets any better than that, you know, because if it doesn't get any better than
- 26:45that, then I would say obviously Devante.
- 26:48But as far as like I'm talking like foot speed, dude, like as far as making guys miss in the
- 26:53open field because of how fast you can move your lower body, like start, stop any anything,
- 26:58dude, I'm telling you, Zay Flowers is it, bro.
- 27:01I still don't know if I'll go with that, man.
- 27:04Devante Adams.
- 27:05Now, if I had to pick a receiver, Devante Adams.
- 27:07Well, yeah, I know.
- 27:08I know you're not saying he's about to.
- 27:09I know you're not getting there.
- 27:10And he's an elite route runner.
- 27:12I'm talking strictly in terms of footwork, right?
- 27:14Fast feet.
- 27:15Chad Johnson cried watching Devante Adams releases, bro.
- 27:20Are we talking current Devante Adams or younger Devante Adams?
- 27:23You either last three or four years, his footwork hasn't dropped off.
- 27:26His quarterback play has.
- 27:27Well, yeah, we know that.
- 27:28Yeah, no, no, no.
- 27:29We know that for sure.
- 27:31I don't know.
- 27:32Just keep an eye on Zay Flowers, bro.
- 27:33No, I was I was actually really hopeful that he would have made it to the Packers in the
- 27:37first year, that the Packers would have drafted him last year.
- 27:40They had the opportunity getting Van Ness, but I was I really, really, really liked Zay
- 27:44Flowers coming out.
- 27:46I like this to Von Diggs comp.
- 27:48That was my comp going into the draft this year.
- 27:50He reminds me a lot of digs, not a huge big bodied receiver, but the shiftiness, the going
- 27:54up and getting the ball.
- 27:56You know, I'm not saying his footwork is an elite.
- 27:58He has great footwork.
- 28:00It's just it's hard for me to put anybody in any realm of footwork above Devante at
- 28:04this point.
- 28:06But there is slight bias with my Packer fandom with Devante as well with that.
- 28:10Right.
- 28:11And I'm not saying Devante ain't elite because he is.
- 28:12I already know that.
- 28:13I've seen it my whole life.
- 28:15Watch a damn football, unfortunately.
- 28:17Yeah, but I was I'm a big Zay Flowers guy.
- 28:20I think they need to get him more involved in the game plan.
- 28:23You know, whether it even just be like an end around that shovel pass.
- 28:26And you've seen that this game, they tried it on one or two plays.
- 28:29Now, it didn't go for hella yards, but they definitely tried that.
- 28:33Yeah.
- 28:34And I like that.
- 28:35You know, even if it just like a bubble screen, just just get the ball in his hands and see
- 28:37what he can do.
- 28:38Yep.
- 28:39Get that guy in open space.
- 28:40All right, let's move on.
- 28:41We had another AFC North matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to the Cleveland
- 28:46Browns, taking on the dog pound.
- 28:49Going into this game, the Browns were four point favorites.
- 28:53No Deshaun Watson for the Browns in this one.
- 28:56We had some pretty big news coming out of the Steelers camp post NFL weekend now.
- 29:01But the Browns ended up winning this game 13 to 10, kind of stopping the Steelers little
- 29:06run of a little bit of success.
- 29:08I really shouldn't be winning games.
- 29:11Let's call it what it is.
- 29:12Dorian Thompson Robinson didn't look great.
- 29:15Can't expect too much out of him.
- 29:17You know, he didn't really put him in a position to lose the game.
- 29:20But I mean, it was a dogfight the whole way.
- 29:22You expected it to be a defensive battle with two kind of underperforming offenses.
- 29:27I mean, I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't really watch much of this game.
- 29:31It's not a game that jumps off the sheet and says, hey, I'm excited to watch that.
- 29:34You're not going to really see any big plays.
- 29:36You know, Jaylen Warren did have that monster of a run, which thank you, I needed that in
- 29:40fantasy.
- 29:42Really did.
- 29:43Well, oh, sorry.
- 29:44And I mean, look at Jaylen Warren these past few weeks, though, his improvement over the
- 29:49past few weeks.
- 29:51Holy shit, where did he come from?
- 29:53You know what I mean?
- 29:54He just kind of emerged now and now is isn't even starting over Naji Harris now.
- 29:58Didn't he get the start this week?
- 30:00I can't remember, but I thought they said that, like, he will be starting going forward.
- 30:04Yeah, yeah.
- 30:05Tomlin came out during the week last week and said that Jaylen Warren will be the starter.
- 30:08Now the funny thing about that or the interesting about that is Naji still did have three more
- 30:12carries than him.
- 30:13You know, so if you take out that 74 yard run, he had eight carries for 55 yards, 59
- 30:19yards.
- 30:20You know, that doesn't scream off the page for you, but that's still pretty damn good.
- 30:24Still better than Naji.
- 30:25Eight carries for 59.
- 30:27I would still take over 12 for 35.
- 30:29Absolutely, absolutely.
- 30:31And you know, like I said, I mean, this this game, there's nothing really about this game
- 30:34that excited me.
- 30:36So that's not as much talk about the game because I totally agree with you.
- 30:40But now let's talk about Cleveland's legit.
- 30:42I mean, both of these teams, do they even have a legitimate chance to challenge for
- 30:46the division?
- 30:47Cleveland, I could have said maybe with Deshaun.
- 30:50I don't know.
- 30:51I don't think DTR is going to get you what you're looking for this season.
- 30:56But I mean, what are what are both teams chances do you think to actually make a run in the
- 31:01division?
- 31:02I think the Steelers are a 500 team.
- 31:04I could see him finishing nine and seven, you know, that which isn't going to get you
- 31:06a wild card spot in the in the AFC.
- 31:10Cleveland, their defense is just so damn good where I could see the Browns squeaking into
- 31:16a wild card spot, especially if they lean heavy on that run game.
- 31:20Now they didn't really perform too well in the run game this week with 29 carries for
- 31:2396 yards, three point three yard average.
- 31:26Doesn't doesn't scream greatness to you.
- 31:28But again, you know, Steelers defense that front seven just frickin nasty.
- 31:33But I don't know.
- 31:35I mean, the Steelers firing Matt Canada.
- 31:37That's the big news that happened today, actually.
- 31:40I think that's long overdue.
- 31:42But I don't think it fixes the offense.
- 31:44You can't fix an offense 12 or 11 weeks into the year.
- 31:48The offense isn't going to change.
- 31:49Yeah, there's going to be different play caller, but it's the same fundamental offense, which
- 31:53maybe they just need that that change of scenery and a little bit of green with some fresh
- 31:57play calling.
- 31:58But I don't know.
- 32:00I don't think either team is going to do anything in the playoffs, but I could see the Browns
- 32:04squeaking into a wild card spot.
- 32:05They're not going to contend with the Ravens.
- 32:07No, no.
- 32:08So I agree.
- 32:10I think it's too late kind of for the Matt Canada thing.
- 32:12I think it needed to happen, but I think it's too late for this season to really do anything
- 32:16with or change too much.
- 32:18But as far as the Browns go, I think you kind of hit that on the head as far as rushing
- 32:22goes.
- 32:23The rushing attack hasn't been bad these past few weeks.
- 32:26So I think if they can get that up and they can just get DTR to just I mean, 43 attempts
- 32:31is fucking wild.
- 32:33I think they need to tone that back a little bit and just get them some easier throws,
- 32:38man.
- 32:39Get them some easier throws.
- 32:40Get some confidence under them.
- 32:41Get Kareem Hunt and Jerome Ford going and see what happens with that.
- 32:46I think you're right.
- 32:47I think Cleveland could challenge for a wild card spot.
- 32:49I don't think they could walk into MT&T Bank Stadium or whatever, whatever the hell it's
- 32:55called for Baltimore and win a game.
- 32:57I don't think so.
- 32:59And with them looking so good right now, they're probably going to win the division.
- 33:02But in the Bengals situation, Cleveland does have a path for a wild card spot if they want
- 33:07it.
- 33:08Yeah, they most certainly do.
- 33:09You see, North, two weeks ago was great division.
- 33:12You got Deshaun Watson, you got Joe Burrow, and then you lose two of the three best quarterbacks
- 33:18in the division.
- 33:20And Ravens lose Mark Andrews.
- 33:23It's just injuries as a whole, man.
- 33:25But yeah, that division.
- 33:26The Sears are the only team that haven't encountered a serious injury yet.
- 33:29But isn't that crazy now how those injuries that you just mentioned have now kind of changed
- 33:33the way the division could look because of that?
- 33:35Absolutely.
- 33:36It completely changes the landscape of that division.
- 33:38It really does.
- 33:39It's like the league's just full of mediocre players if they make such a difference.
- 33:44That's funny.
- 33:45That's funny.
- 33:46All right, well, let's get on to our game of the week.
- 33:48We had a Super Bowl rematch.
- 33:50Philadelphia traveling down to Arrowhead and taking on the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 33:55What a hell of a game, Smelty.
- 33:57What a hell of a game.
- 33:58The Chiefs were favored by three going into this game.
- 34:01Both Smelty and I had the Chiefs covering that three and winning this game.
- 34:06That did not happen.
- 34:08We had the Eagles pulling it off 21-17.
- 34:12Tell me a little bit about that game, man.
- 34:13Yeah, I mean, let's be honest.
- 34:15This is everything we wanted.
- 34:17I mean, this is the game of the year to this point.
- 34:20Also better at the boys game of the week.
- 34:22But I mean, this is exactly the type of game you're looking for for a Super Bowl rematch,
- 34:27maybe a Super Bowl preview even.
- 34:31But late in the game, I really saw the Chiefs pulling out with this one.
- 34:34I really thought the Eagles had no chance, but they really just kept grinding, I guess
- 34:40you could say, chipping away at the Chiefs, wearing down their defense.
- 34:44I think the Chiefs defense played outstanding this game, but the Eagles just kept wearing
- 34:50them down, wearing them down, wearing them down in that second half.
- 34:53And finally they broke.
- 34:54They did, man.
- 34:55The Eagles not allowing any second half points is the story of the game.
- 34:59It looks like going into the half, the Chiefs were up 17-7.
- 35:02The Chiefs were in control of the game.
- 35:05Pat Mahomes doing Pat Mahomes things.
- 35:07That first touchdown pass was one thing of a beauty.
- 35:10And you're not very many NFL quarterbacks from making that throw.
- 35:13They had all of the run game in the first half.
- 35:16The Chiefs first half rushing was the most rushing yards the Eagles have allowed the
- 35:20entire year.
- 35:22And I believe that number was around 120, 122.
- 35:26They let up 40 yards in the second half.
- 35:28If that number is correct, I could be wrong.
- 35:31They had no points and essentially shut Mahomes down.
- 35:33Mahomes game, he threw for 4.1 yards per average.
- 35:38It doesn't scream off the sheets by any means.
- 35:40And had a 71.6 quarterback rating.
- 35:42But okay, but 4.1 yards per average, right?
- 35:45If you look at it this way, now you're not passing every down, right?
- 35:4943 attempts, you're passing a lot, but you're not passing every down.
- 35:534.3 yards, okay, you do that three times.
- 35:56That's a first down.
- 35:57The thing that astounds me though is like the just giving up on the run game.
- 36:01This is looking at strictly just averages, but they average 5.6 yards per rush.
- 36:05You can't win very many games averaging more yards per rush than you are averaging per
- 36:10pass in today's NFL with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback.
- 36:14True, true, yeah, okay, I'll give you that.
- 36:17Mahomes average being who he is should be greater, for sure.
- 36:21I'll give you that.
- 36:22But it's not like Kansas City didn't have any rushing game at all.
- 36:25Now in the second half they pretty much didn't.
- 36:27But in that first half they had it going on.
- 36:30So did the Chiefs just get conservative or did the Eagles make that many changes going
- 36:36into the second half that they finally showed us what we've been kind of asking for on this
- 36:43pod the last two weeks?
- 36:44Like, show us something, Eagles, to show us that you're real.
- 36:49And that second half, that defense straight up showed me that they should be beating the
- 36:54San Francisco 49ers in that NFC Championship game.
- 36:57I would 100% agree.
- 36:58That Eagles defense, I had a lot of questions going into this week.
- 37:04The thing about it is...
- 37:05We have every week, that's what I mean.
- 37:06Exactly.
- 37:07And they showed that they can clamp down when they need to, didn't have a good showing in
- 37:11the first half, they made the necessary adjustments.
- 37:14And to me the biggest thing with the Eagles is just the lack of consistency.
- 37:21And even Jalen Hurtskine in his post-game interview came out and said, we have yet to
- 37:25play a full game of football this year and we've lost one game.
- 37:29That's kind of fucking scary.
- 37:31No shit.
- 37:32But you're also thinking like, if you have yet to play a whole game of football and you've
- 37:36only lost one game, then they're close.
- 37:41Imagine if they do play a full game of football.
- 37:43They're straight, dude.
- 37:45I don't...
- 37:46The thing about the Eagles is, going into this week, the last couple of weeks, first
- 37:50half of the season is, the only real weakness I would say they had was their secondary.
- 37:57That seemed to have been corrected.
- 37:58You held Bill Holmes to 177 yards.
- 38:01And your boy Bayard got a pick.
- 38:03He did.
- 38:04In the end zone.
- 38:05Wasn't it in the end zone?
- 38:06It was in the red zone, I know for sure.
- 38:07I don't know if it was necessarily the end zone.
- 38:08Yeah, it was the end zone.
- 38:09It was the end zone, yep.
- 38:10Yeah.
- 38:11So that's already paying off.
- 38:12They shut down Travis Kelsey for the most part, seven targets, or nine targets, seven
- 38:16receptions.
- 38:17Two big drops.
- 38:18But he only had 44 yards.
- 38:20Yes, the drops were...
- 38:21The Achilles heel for Travis this game, and you just don't see it.
- 38:24And the fumble too, which it just...
- 38:26He's a clutch player.
- 38:27He straight up is a clutch player.
- 38:29And those plays, the drops, which, okay, he dropped the ball in third down and then caught
- 38:33the ball on fourth down for the first down late in the game.
- 38:36But the drops and the fumble, it's just uncharacteristic for him, I would say.
- 38:40We don't really see that in crunch time.
- 38:42He's usually the guy like, oh great, Kelsey's getting the ball.
- 38:47They're just trying to run this game away, you know?
- 38:49Yeah, the fumble is the thing that just blew my mind the most.
- 38:53He's never been known for that.
- 38:55He's a very, very...
- 38:56The thing with Kelsey is he's targeted a lot.
- 38:58He gets a lot of receptions, but he takes care of his body.
- 39:01You know what I mean?
- 39:02And when I say that, not necessarily off the field, but he's not going in lowering that
- 39:05shoulder trying to get the extra two yards.
- 39:07Now, if it's a short yard of situation that anybody in the NFL is going to, but he avoids
- 39:11context pretty good.
- 39:12He protects his body when he gets hit.
- 39:14He doesn't try to just gung-ho force it like that.
- 39:18So for him to have that fumble was just very, very surprising to me.
- 39:21And I mean, not to throw this in there.
- 39:23It has nothing to do with the fumble, but I mean, with Kelsey's TD, that game now, he's
- 39:28allegedly tied for fifth for most TDs by a tight end in league history.
- 39:33From what I see, I think he's actually by himself in fifth, passing Jason Whitten now.
- 39:40So he's well on his way to being the greatest tight end of all time.
- 39:44Is he going to catch Rob Ginkowski?
- 39:45I have no idea because he was crazy with Brady and they're the top tandem quarterback tight
- 39:51end team to ever do it.
- 39:52But now Mahomes and Kelsey actually just tied Breeze and Jimmy Graham for the third best
- 39:57combo ever to do it.
- 39:59So he's obviously his safety blanket, you know, and that's exactly who he went to in
- 40:05crunch time.
- 40:06And you saw it and he's always there for him, for Mahomes I'm talking about.
- 40:10Kelsey's always there for him.
- 40:12And then, yeah, just that fumble, man, just, I don't know, really uncharacteristic.
- 40:17And if you look at those two drops, he had seven receptions on nine targets.
- 40:20Those two drops are the other two targets.
- 40:22So the ball was in his hands every single time he got targeted.
- 40:24What do you expect with Mahomes?
- 40:26Yeah, but dude, it's just so weird, man.
- 40:28Under what was it?
- 40:29Under four minutes left in the game probably at that point, maybe under three.
- 40:32Like it was literally, I don't know, I just keep saying the same thing over and over again.
- 40:36I know I do and it's probably annoying as shit, but I'm just that flabbergasted at it.
- 40:40No, most certainly, most certainly.
- 40:42But the game delivered.
- 40:43You know, it's exactly what you want.
- 40:45Sunday night or sorry, Monday night game.
- 40:46You don't get a lot of those great Monday night games anymore for whatever reason.
- 40:50You know, they have the pretty good matchups, but you just don't get that classic Monday
- 40:54night football.
- 40:55John Madden, Al Michaels, you know, gritty game that you just always used to see and
- 41:00it used to be an absolute spectacle.
- 41:02Those are Sunday night games now.
- 41:03True, true.
- 41:04But this had that feeling to it to me.
- 41:06No, it did.
- 41:07Yeah.
- 41:08Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 41:09It had that feeling to it to me.
- 41:12And I mean, I don't know.
- 41:14For me, the play of the game that sealed it is that, OK, actually, I'm curious what your
- 41:19opinion is on this.
- 41:20Did MVS straight up drop that ball?
- 41:22Hundred percent.
- 41:23That's what I think, too.
- 41:24Yeah, everybody.
- 41:25You know, Mahomes took it on himself.
- 41:27Mahomes is like, oh, I overthrew him, you know, as humble Mahomes does.
- 41:30As any great leader would do.
- 41:32Exactly, exactly.
- 41:33And he's always been like that.
- 41:34That's one thing I can respect on Mahomes.
- 41:36People hate on him and that's fine.
- 41:37I don't know how you can.
- 41:38I honestly don't know how you can hate on the guy.
- 41:40He does everything you want off the field.
- 41:42He's a family man.
- 41:43He does gives back to the community like he said he's going to go down as the greatest
- 41:47quarterback of all time when it's all said and done.
- 41:49I'm not going to give him that right now because it's hard to give an active player that role.
- 41:53That's just my personal opinion on the matter.
- 41:54I like that statement.
- 41:56That's why I couldn't label Brady.
- 41:57I like that statement.
- 41:58Yeah.
- 41:59That's why I couldn't label Brady as the goat when he was still actively playing.
- 42:01Now, as soon as he retired, he's greatest of all time.
- 42:04Yeah.
- 42:05OK.
- 42:06When LeBron LeTire's probably going to be the greatest of all time.
- 42:07Now, that's a whole other story.
- 42:09Thank you.
- 42:10Yes, that's a whole other story.
- 42:11Right now, he's not.
- 42:13But it's to go back to the Mahomes Kelsey, I just don't think Kelsey has that much good
- 42:18football left him at 34 years old.
- 42:20You think this is Kelsey's last ride?
- 42:22Absolutely not.
- 42:23I think he's going to be a very productive tight end in the NFL, but very productive
- 42:28isn't what we expect out of Travis Kelsey.
- 42:30You're talking about a guy who's consistently in the top five receiving yards in the entire
- 42:34league the last five or seven years.
- 42:37So that drop off would still be great productive.
- 42:39He's still going to be a top three to four tight end in the NFL.
- 42:42Ever?
- 42:43But he's unquestionable.
- 42:44No, I'm just meaning like in the next year or two.
- 42:45Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:46When it's all said and done, yes.
- 42:47But you're saying he's going to start declining.
- 42:50Is that what you're saying is what we saw as maybe the start of the decline?
- 42:53I'm not saying that is all.
- 42:54I'm not saying that at all because he hasn't shown that this year.
- 42:57But he's also come out and said that he's never contemplated retirement as much as he
- 43:01has the last couple of years.
- 43:02At the end of the day, he has two rings.
- 43:05He doesn't necessarily have anything else left to prove.
- 43:08No, besides going down as the greatest, which is a driving force and motivator for everybody.
- 43:13But in my opinion, he's already a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 43:16Yeah, yeah.
- 43:17I mean, he's he's dynamic.
- 43:18The only reason he's not the greatest tight end of his generation is because he played
- 43:21at the same time as Gronk.
- 43:24That's the the Peyton Manning, Tom Brady argument applies the same thing.
- 43:27Sure.
- 43:28Yeah, fair.
- 43:29Drew Brees with Peyton Manning and Tom Brady applies the same thing.
- 43:31Yeah.
- 43:32So it's it's you know, that's not in his favor, but he's hands down the best time in the NFL
- 43:38or me.
- 43:39And it's not even remotely close to a number two.
- 43:40No, I would say George Kittle is number two right now with Andrews going down.
- 43:44But that's a steep drop off to me where you look at the number one receiver, in my opinion,
- 43:48is still Devante Adams versus number two being J.J.
- 43:51Devante or J.J.
- 43:52Tyree, Kill or even Jamar Chase.
- 43:53There's not a big gap between those four receivers.
- 43:56I like your number.
- 43:57Yeah, OK, I see what you're saying.
- 43:58I'm not saying those are one through four.
- 44:00I'm just saying those are the top four receivers in the NFL.
- 44:03Yeah, no, I agree.
- 44:05I think there's a steep drop off from Kelsey to Kittle.
- 44:07And I would agree.
- 44:08I'd put Kittle at two, followed by Andrews, actually.
- 44:11But that difference between Kittle and Andrews is a lot smaller than Kelsey to Kittle.
- 44:15Well, I think we can both agree from the outcome of this game that the Eagles are the best
- 44:19team in the NFL.
- 44:24They won the game, but it does a debate for another time.
- 44:27I think right now today, they're there.
- 44:30Oh, man, that's a debate.
- 44:31They're pretty good.
- 44:32Eagles pretty good.
- 44:33All right.
- 44:34Well, we can we can debate that another time.
- 44:36But let's move on from the week 11 slate just for those keeping track.
- 44:41Smelsey was two for five on games this week predicting against the spread.
- 44:45I was also two for five.
- 44:47So we are actually going to get a recap of where we're at for the year going into next
- 44:51week.
- 44:52It just takes a little bit of time to put that together.
- 44:53We didn't quite have that going into this week.
- 44:55We do apologize, but we will have a running total going forward every week just to kind
- 44:59of let the viewers at home know kind of where we're at with.
- 45:01And so, you know who to comment on our Facebook page or whatever and talk shit about.
- 45:06It's fine.
- 45:07It's fine.
- 45:08Exactly.
- 45:09All right, man.
- 45:10Let's get into tent talk, sir.
- 45:11We had some injuries this week to the biggest injury that we all do.
- 45:17We already kind of spoke on briefly.
- 45:19Joey Burrow tearing a ligament in his throwing wrist.
- 45:22He has done for the year.
- 45:24That video of him trying to throw the ball on the sideline, man, that that hurt to watch.
- 45:28And again, it's just your top superstar players getting injured again.
- 45:31It just it just sucks to see.
- 45:34Even if you're an opponent of that team, like you want to beat them at their best so you
- 45:37can claim yourself the best that day or what?
- 45:40You know what I mean?
- 45:41It's a mentality, but it's just like you want to beat somebody at their best.
- 45:44And now the Bengals are starting at their best and they won't be this season.
- 45:47Yeah.
- 45:48And they were really starting to kind of turn the season around.
- 45:49I would have loved to see a healthy Bengals team take on that Ravens team last week.
- 45:53That would have been a hell of a game as we expected.
- 45:56But some more AFC North news.
- 45:58This wasn't news going into the slate, but after recorded the last podcast, Sean Watson
- 46:03was put on season and injury or season and season ending IR to repair a fracture he had
- 46:09in his throwing shoulder.
- 46:11We've already spoken on that quite a bit with with what we expect out of DTR with recapping
- 46:16that game.
- 46:17But, you know, big loss to the Browns.
- 46:18Yeah, no doubt.
- 46:19I mean, they really DTR has really got to, you know, dial in at practice this week and
- 46:24just see if they can.
- 46:25They got to get that rushing game going and see if they can sneak into a playoff spot.
- 46:28Yeah, it's the season's not over by by far and by any means with them.
- 46:32Especially at what?
- 46:33Seven and three.
- 46:34They are.
- 46:35I believe the Browns are now after that win.
- 46:36Yeah, seven and three.
- 46:37Seven and three.
- 46:38Yep.
- 46:39I mean, they're right there.
- 46:40So they just got to see see how far DTR can take them.
- 46:44Yeah, most certainly.
- 46:45Most certainly.
- 46:46Let's shift our focus over to NFC West.
- 46:48The San Francisco 49ers had a big blow to their defense.
- 46:52Talanoa, who Fanga came on the season last year as a second year player, kind of jumped
- 46:56off the stat sheet, made a name for herself.
- 46:59Torn ACL, another one down for the year.
- 47:03Straight up.
- 47:04You like saying his name, don't you?
- 47:05I do, man.
- 47:06I do.
- 47:07No, but just another big loss and another loss to a really good defense.
- 47:15I'm curious, do you know who they replaced with him for the game?
- 47:19I don't.
- 47:20I don't.
- 47:21I'm sure we'll hear the name here.
- 47:22I'm not going to lie to you, Smeltzi.
- 47:24I can name Tardevius Ward and that's the only other secondary player I know on the Niners.
- 47:28That's fair.
- 47:29Like, well, that's what I mean, though, then.
- 47:31You're right.
- 47:32Like, we have no idea.
- 47:33So it'll be curious to see if teams really attack that going forward.
- 47:38The crazy thing about that is it's going to be hard to do that with the Niners front seven,
- 47:41man.
- 47:42Chase Young on the other side of Nick Boasa looks fucking scary.
- 47:45Nasty.
- 47:46Speaking of Boasa, his brother went out in the Packer game.
- 47:48He was pretty emotional in the game.
- 47:52He's headed to the IR with a foot sprain.
- 47:54It's not considered to be season ending, but with how the Chargers are doing, if he's out
- 47:57for the next four weeks, I don't see them in playoff contention to even put him back
- 48:01on the field.
- 48:02Yeah, no, I mean, they really need him.
- 48:03Like you said, I mean, if they go three and one in those four games, yeah, bring him back.
- 48:08But if they go one and four or even two and two, you really have to consider your playoff
- 48:12chances and maybe you just shut him down for the rest of the season.
- 48:15I mean, you're invested a lot in him.
- 48:18Why put him out there if he's not if he's coming fresh off injury, even if he's 100
- 48:23percent?
- 48:24Do you really take that risk?
- 48:25I like that take.
- 48:26That's it.
- 48:27I mean, something to think about.
- 48:28To me, it's not necessarily I don't know if the record really matters until they are
- 48:32mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
- 48:35That to me is the deciding factor.
- 48:36So if they still had a one in a million chance saying there's a chance.
- 48:40So let me rephrase that a realistic math.
- 48:43OK, you know, if like if these seven teams have to win and these two teams have to tie,
- 48:48like that, then it's like, you know, a realistic chance, I guess more than mathematically
- 48:52eliminated.
- 48:53Fair enough.
- 48:54Then we're going to move over to my Packers.
- 48:55Aaron Jones, as we spoke earlier about, went down in the second quarter.
- 48:59He was emotional on the field.
- 49:00He feared he tore his ACL immediately.
- 49:04It ended up only being a sprained MCL.
- 49:06So it's not a huge injury.
- 49:07He's considered week to week this week or week to week at this point with him coming
- 49:11off a short week and playing on Thanksgiving.
- 49:13He's not expected to play this week, but we could very well see him back next week with
- 49:17that.
- 49:18That in quotations, many by.
- 49:19Yeah, thank God and not another torn ACL.
- 49:22Just way too many of them.
- 49:23But trust me, you know, when you tear that shit, you hear that pop, I'll tell you right
- 49:27now.
- 49:28But it just sucks, man.
- 49:30Like at least at least it's only a sprain of the MCL.
- 49:33Right.
- 49:34And that offense really needs an Aaron Jones right now.
- 49:38A healthy Aaron Jones right now.
- 49:40And who do they play this week?
- 49:41The Lions?
- 49:42AJ Dillon, my man.
- 49:44You better be ready to run.
- 49:46Yeah.
- 49:47And so for Dylan was hurt too, wasn't he?
- 49:49No, Dylan didn't get hurt.
- 49:50The third tree, Emmanuel Wilson got hurt.
- 49:51So Dylan was the only back.
- 49:52Dylan's the only healthy back on the roster.
- 49:54Well, he's going to have to be a bowling ball this week.
- 49:56He's good at being a bowling ball.
- 49:57He just don't go hitting you pins.
- 49:58Well, you got to go down the lane too.
- 49:59Yeah, you don't go down the lane.
- 50:00You got to go north to south, not east to west.
- 50:03To those listeners at home, as we spoke on last week, I'm a proud new owner of an Aaron
- 50:07Jones jersey just because of the poor performance last week.
- 50:09I did not wear it this week, so I am not the reason for those keeping track.
- 50:13But you did buy a new jersey for those keeping track of Tyler's jerseys.
- 50:17I did.
- 50:18I did.
- 50:19My white away Romeo Dobbs jersey came today.
- 50:23I have that Aaron Jones home jersey, so I wanted to get an away jersey.
- 50:25What color is the Aaron Rodgers jersey you got?
- 50:27Aaron Rodgers is a home jersey too.
- 50:29So do you trust yourself wearing white?
- 50:31I do.
- 50:32Oh, shit, I do not, dude.
- 50:34I could not.
- 50:35I could not buy a white jersey, bro.
- 50:36Like I could if I'm sitting at home.
- 50:39But even then, dude, if I'm eating, I'm taking that shit off.
- 50:41Yeah, I'm going to drop some shit on it.
- 50:43It is what it is.
- 50:44It's not in a washing machine.
- 50:45Little bit of bleach can't get out.
- 50:46You know what I'm saying?
- 50:47Or those like the the the the war scars for you.
- 50:51Yeah, yeah.
- 50:52Damn, that's that ketchup stain from 1987.
- 50:55Damn it.
- 50:56But yeah, I'm one of those weird guys where the Packers are playing away.
- 51:00I want to wear an away jersey.
- 51:01The Packers are playing home.
- 51:02I want to wear a home jersey.
- 51:03I also have a white hat and a green hat, so it's the same regard.
- 51:05So I'm not a huge superstitious guy.
- 51:08I mean, it doesn't sound like that.
- 51:09Yeah, what I said.
- 51:11But yeah, that's that's that's kind of my game plan.
- 51:14So for the funny thing about that as well, it's we got my daughter who's 14 months, a
- 51:19Packers little cheerleader outfit.
- 51:21We have every game that we have put her in it.
- 51:23They have one.
- 51:25And it sounds like she's wearing the rest of the season.
- 51:28No, because I don't want them to win.
- 51:30We have no reason.
- 51:32No, I'm only kidding with that.
- 51:34I want to see some progression out of this offense.
- 51:36You know, I mean, yeah, I would like to see a top tier pick, but I don't think we're
- 51:39a bad enough team to deserve a top five pick.
- 51:42And I mean, the difference between here between 12 and 17.
- 51:45Yeah.
- 51:46So it's it's I like the progression that I'm seeing, you know, and I like these young
- 51:48pieces on defense that are showing.
- 51:51But back to the 10 talk here, Kenneth Walker for the Seahawks went down with a non-contact
- 51:55oblique injury.
- 51:57Pete Carroll came out and said yesterday, being Monday, that they don't consider it
- 52:00to be him to be an I.R. candidate at this time.
- 52:03But he did acknowledge that the team does need to learn more about the running backs
- 52:06injury before determining how much time he might miss.
- 52:09Hmm.
- 52:10Yeah.
- 52:11So that sounds like a real definition of day to day situation.
- 52:14Oh, yeah.
- 52:15It's coach talk for you 100 percent.
- 52:16He's not going to give the other team any advantage in knowing what he's going to be.
- 52:19But as you had mentioned off air here, Zach Chardonnay has actually looked pretty good
- 52:23spelling him.
- 52:24So I don't think there's a huge loss right there.
- 52:26No need to rush him if he's not 100 percent.
- 52:29Before we get to one of our new segments that is only new because we're putting a name on
- 52:32it, we've talked about it every week this week, this podcast here.
- 52:36We're going to get to some surprising news out of the Indy Cap.
- 52:39Shaquille Leonard was released today.
- 52:42He was, you know, a former three time All-Pro.
- 52:45He was a defensive rookie of the year.
- 52:47He has a lot of talent.
- 52:48He's been had the injury bug as of late and he's kind of worked himself out of that Indianapolis
- 52:52rotation with the Indy being as young as they are.
- 52:55I could see why they want to see that young talent.
- 52:57I mean, I like that they released him versus, you know, give it trading him earlier in the
- 53:01year, giving him a chance to kind of see who he wants to go play for, put himself on a
- 53:05contender, assuming he clears waivers, which I don't know if he will.
- 53:10Oh, you don't know if he will.
- 53:12I don't know.
- 53:14Because if you get picked up on waivers, you got to pick up his contract, too.
- 53:18Right.
- 53:19Yep.
- 53:20Yeah.
- 53:21And it's for a team that's, you know, a middle linebacker, an off ball linebacker away, you
- 53:26know, with that foundational piece, a team like, say, the Buffalo Bills with Matt Milano
- 53:30going down.
- 53:31I can see the Bills picking up, not taking the chance of him, not clearing waivers.
- 53:36You know, I can't really think of another like top tier team that's in need of that
- 53:39because he's not a middle linebacker.
- 53:41He's an off ball outside linebacker.
- 53:43You know, he's not going to offer much in terms of rushing the passer.
- 53:47It's to be honest with you, I haven't really watched much of him in recent years because
- 53:50he has battled with so many injuries.
- 53:52But when he was, you know, his first three years in the league, even five years, he just
- 53:57was always on the ball.
- 53:59That guy was just a ball hawk as a linebacker.
- 54:02I mean, that's why he's three time All-Pro, first team All-Pro, one of those years being
- 54:06his rookie year where he was defensive rookie of the year as well.
- 54:09So it's just somebody will take a chance on him.
- 54:12And I kind of like it.
- 54:14He's kind of more like a middle risk, high reward type of guy, maybe.
- 54:19And I say middle risk because of those injuries.
- 54:22You don't know how many games he's going to play for you.
- 54:24The Vikings signed Marcus Davenport this year and he's played two frickin' games and he
- 54:28was allegedly healthy.
- 54:30The Vikings also signed Michael Pierce the year before.
- 54:32Same bullshit.
- 54:33Sorry to go on a tangent about the Vikings again.
- 54:36But he's kind of that middle risk only because of the injuries, the two back surgeries and
- 54:41I think 2022 or whatever.
- 54:43You know, I think somebody's willing to take that risk for the chance that he goes back
- 54:47to that first team All-Pro form.
- 54:49And you mentioned his playing time.
- 54:50I mean, when you're not getting consistent playing time, it's hard to get into that form
- 54:55as like these football players, football players say around the world.
- 54:59You know, you get into a form, right?
- 55:01And he kind of can't get into a good form if he's not playing.
- 55:05So I guess we'll just see if, not see if somebody takes a risk, we'll see who takes that risk.
- 55:12Yeah, the other thing that's not in his favor is the days of a 4-3 off defense are not long
- 55:18gone.
- 55:19Going away.
- 55:20They're going away.
- 55:21So, you know, what does he offer as a 3-4 inside backer?
- 55:25I don't know.
- 55:26That's actually an interesting take because he's uber athletic.
- 55:29You know, he's slowed down in the last couple of years with the injuries, but I'm excited
- 55:33to see who he goes to and what kind of difference he can make.
- 55:37You know, let's look at another team.
- 55:39Dallas Cowboys losing Leighton Randorash.
- 55:40Oh yeah, Leighton did play outside, didn't he?
- 55:44He did.
- 55:45And that's a 4-3 defense.
- 55:46Yeah.
- 55:47That's a thought I didn't think about.
- 55:49That would be interesting.
- 55:50And that'd be somebody that'd be willing to pick up whatever contract it may be.
- 55:54Absolutely.
- 55:55They're in window mode.
- 55:56I mean, it's, it's their Super Bowl or bust right now with how young their core is and
- 55:58they have to capitalize on it.
- 56:00So I could, and it's Jerry Jones.
- 56:01He's not afraid to make a move.
- 56:02That's what I mean.
- 56:03They're, they're willing to spend and their window, I would say is closing.
- 56:07They're in it right now.
- 56:08I think the Cowboys are good enough to make a run.
- 56:10Do I think they're good enough to beat the 49ers or the Eagles?
- 56:13I think that'd be a great game, but no.
- 56:17But I don't know.
- 56:18Yeah.
- 56:19I didn't think about the Cowboys' landing spot.
- 56:21Yeah, that's, it's interesting.
- 56:22I'm excited to see what he does with, with, you know, I hope he does rejuvenate his career
- 56:26and get back into his All-Pro form.
- 56:28Let's go to our last topic here for our tent talk.
- 56:32We have the Rogers watch.
- 56:35We have some new news.
- 56:37This motherfucker is jogging on.
- 56:39It's not a treadmill.
- 56:40It's that new age treadmill.
- 56:41I don't know what the hell they're called, but this guy is jogging, targeting to practice
- 56:46by his birthday, which is December 3rd.
- 56:49Allegedly.
- 56:50Flying fuck.
- 56:51Allegedly.
- 56:52I, oh my God.
- 56:55I mean, I don't, I don't even, an Achilles and you to come back that quick at a game
- 57:00that's so physical, dude.
- 57:02I mean, you have to know that you're good to go.
- 57:06I that's real tough, man.
- 57:09I mean, how long is the typical Achilles?
- 57:11Like, what was he slated?
- 57:12I know originally, right?
- 57:14Seasons over.
- 57:15Boom.
- 57:16That's it.
- 57:17And you don't see players.
- 57:18You look at the NBA.
- 57:19You don't see players come back same season.
- 57:20Remember Achilles?
- 57:21I know it was the first game.
- 57:22I know it was what?
- 57:23Eight, five minutes into the first game, eight seconds, something, some stupid quick place
- 57:27for plays into the season.
- 57:28Not even four plays.
- 57:29It was the first play.
- 57:31Was it really the first?
- 57:32The Jets first offensive position.
- 57:33Either way, first, first drive of the season.
- 57:36So I guess you could see how he could return.
- 57:39But is it worth it to the Jets to have that?
- 57:41That's a big thing.
- 57:42The the the quickest recovery from an Achilles in the NFL is Cam Akers when he toured in
- 57:47the with the Rams and ended up playing in the Super Bowl that same the year the Rams
- 57:51went to the Super Bowl.
- 57:52But that was his first game back was the Super Bowl.
- 57:54Yeah.
- 57:55See, there's all sorts of because there's a break.
- 57:57There's a two week break between the last game.
- 58:00Well, that's what I do.
- 58:01Whatever the fuck.
- 58:02Right.
- 58:03So to answer your initial question, jogging is a 12 week recovery.
- 58:08Like that's what it's supposed to be slated as is about 12 weeks, which is four months.
- 58:12Now you look at it.
- 58:13We're 11 weeks since that injury, 10 weeks since the injury.
- 58:17So he's but he's ahead of schedule.
- 58:18He's just slightly ahead of schedule.
- 58:20But OK, so then so then you do look at it if you're the Jets.
- 58:23Do you let him play if he says I'm good?
- 58:26Medical staff says he's good to go.
- 58:28Do you let him play to get more familiar with their offense and their players for now?
- 58:33For next season?
- 58:34Or do you just shut him down?
- 58:36100 percent.
- 58:37The same thing goes with like I had mentioned with Joey Bosa.
- 58:40It's to this one.
- 58:41It is 100 percent because this is Roger's mindset is when they are mathematically eliminated
- 58:47from the playoffs because last year when he got hurt last year and the Packers were still
- 58:51in it, he wouldn't have played week 17 against the Lions if they were mathematically eliminated.
- 58:55He would have given the reins and see what the young core had with Jordan Love.
- 58:59So I think the same thing applies here because the Jets are a quarterback away from being
- 59:03an elite team in the end.
- 59:04No, 100 percent.
- 59:05And we know that.
- 59:06And that's what they went and did.
- 59:08They got the guy to take them to the Super Bowl, in my opinion, 100 percent.
- 59:12I was super stoked, actually, to finally be able to watch Rogers not as a Packer and be
- 59:17like, yo, yes, he's elite without like.
- 59:21Wow, I was going to say something ridiculously inappropriate.
- 59:25I'm glad I didn't.
- 59:26Without like, I don't know.
- 59:29I don't know.
- 59:30It's just it was going to be nice to see him play at a high level for a different team
- 59:33straight up.
- 59:34And I figured that he would take the Jets to the Super Bowl because the offense is close.
- 59:38The defense is there, in my opinion.
- 59:41But I don't know.
- 59:42I'm with you, man.
- 59:43I wanted to see the Jets.
- 59:44I want to see Rogers win in our win in our Super Bowl just because of how the Packers
- 59:49treated him and their their inability or their unwillingness to put talent around him, especially
- 59:54on the offensive side of the ball.
- 59:55I was really happy to see him go somewhere where they showed they wanted them.
- 1:00:00They built the team around him.
- 1:00:02And I was really excited.
- 1:00:03You know, I mean, I have no I don't hold any gripe against Rogers for wanting out.
- 1:00:08I really don't.
- 1:00:11Enough about the play of week 11.
- 1:00:15We have one of my favorite segments, your bonehead move of the week brought to you by
- 1:00:20Smelty.
- 1:00:21Yeah.
- 1:00:22And I mean, this is this is going to be a guy that you probably don't expect to hear
- 1:00:25anymore, especially in bonehead move of the week.
- 1:00:27A lot of people are going to want to punch me in the face.
- 1:00:30And that is OK.
- 1:00:31You can't do it through the screen.
- 1:00:33So Tom Brady came out with an interesting interview or something.
- 1:00:37I don't know how this came about, whatever.
- 1:00:39There's a number of articles about it.
- 1:00:41Tom Brady pretty much came out and said that NFL play has a lot of mediocrity.
- 1:00:46And I think that's a bunch of bullshit straight up.
- 1:00:48I think the NFL is full of a lot of talented players.
- 1:00:52I don't think anybody's necessarily OK with being mediocre unless you're the L.A. Chargers.
- 1:00:58And I don't know.
- 1:00:59I just think that statement alone is a bunch of BS.
- 1:01:01Now, he said a bunch of other shit that we're going to talk about that I actually do agree
- 1:01:05with.
- 1:01:06But the NFL play, let's just talk about that first.
- 1:01:10NFL play has a lot of mediocrity.
- 1:01:14What is your opinion on that?
- 1:01:15Oh, I don't think we can just.
- 1:01:16It's very vague statement, right?
- 1:01:18Well, that's because he followed it up with his reasons.
- 1:01:20And his biggest reason or one of the biggest reasons, he said, was the lack of coaching.
- 1:01:25He said the coaching has gone down and the coaching is very mediocre.
- 1:01:28And that's going to be a relay to the play on the field.
- 1:01:32I don't know if I can disagree with him.
- 1:01:33You know, if I were to just blanket Lee here, the mediocrity of the NFL without hearing
- 1:01:37his reason behind it.
- 1:01:39And as he sat down, he had an interview with Stephen A. Smith, actually, is what it was.
- 1:01:42Is that what it was?
- 1:01:43OK, yeah.
- 1:01:44So I don't know if I can necessarily disagree with him.
- 1:01:47I mean, you look at quarterback play this year.
- 1:01:50There's a lot of quarterbacks hovering around that 50, 60 percent completion mark.
- 1:01:54There's a lot that are dead right now, too, for the season.
- 1:01:57A lot of quarterbacks, high end quarterbacks that are done for the season.
- 1:02:01Yeah.
- 1:02:02And that's also a part of what what Brady's pinpoint was, was he said that the development
- 1:02:05of players has hit an all.
- 1:02:07He didn't say an all time low, but he said that the coaches don't have that developmental
- 1:02:10play anymore.
- 1:02:11And I think the largest reason behind that is because these coaches are no longer head
- 1:02:15coaches.
- 1:02:16They're the play caller for offensive defense.
- 1:02:18So they have an agenda besides coaching the team.
- 1:02:20You look at one of the most successful coaches in the NFL right now, Mike Tomlin.
- 1:02:24He don't call offensive defense.
- 1:02:25He's the head coach of the football team and puts people in positions to make those calls.
- 1:02:29Now, he didn't make a great decision in Matt Canada, as we have learned as of late.
- 1:02:33But you look at and Brady's always going to like default this to Bill Belichick, as he
- 1:02:40should the greatest, the greatest coach of all time.
- 1:02:42You can make an argument, the greatest GM of all time.
- 1:02:45Right.
- 1:02:46And that's traditional football building of the players.
- 1:02:49They're not going to go out and sign that big name pre agent.
- 1:02:51Yeah, they did bring in the Randy Moss.
- 1:02:52They did bring in the Daryl Rivas for a couple of years, but they always drafted great and
- 1:02:57develop the players that they have.
- 1:02:58You don't really see that in the NFL much anymore.
- 1:03:01No, and you don't.
- 1:03:03As far as the development piece goes, you'll see it occasionally.
- 1:03:06Right.
- 1:03:07Like Patrick my homes, he was a nobody when he got drafted.
- 1:03:09Yes, he went to Texas Tech.
- 1:03:10Yes, people in the state of Texas knew who he was.
- 1:03:12The first round drive.
- 1:03:13But like not a nobody, but still he wasn't the top quarterback in the draft that year.
- 1:03:18Nobody was really talking about him becoming who he is now.
- 1:03:21He was an example of somebody that was developed in the NFL system.
- 1:03:26And to that point, who has been his head coach?
- 1:03:30One of the OG traditional old school coaches in Andy Reid.
- 1:03:33Now he has he has evolved with the game, but his foundational pieces, the foundation of
- 1:03:38his coaching hasn't changed.
- 1:03:40He just evolved with the offensive prowess.
- 1:03:41OK, so let's take a look at Jalen Hurts, then.
- 1:03:45Does he is he just a baller?
- 1:03:47He just came in and he's a baller and like he doesn't he didn't necessarily he's developing.
- 1:03:51Obviously, you see it every week.
- 1:03:54But did he just come in and you know, he was just a player right out of the gate, like
- 1:03:59he didn't necessarily need the development or that that big time coach to develop him
- 1:04:04because that his coaches are necessarily an old school coach like like Andy Reid.
- 1:04:08Right.
- 1:04:09I would disagree.
- 1:04:10He's a new age coach, but he has the old school mentality and the old school mindset behind
- 1:04:14it.
- 1:04:15Yeah, because he preaches that dog mentality.
- 1:04:17You know, it's you can go on and on about that.
- 1:04:19He builds his team in the trenches.
- 1:04:21How many teams are building in the trenches nowadays?
- 1:04:23Well, right.
- 1:04:24And that's exactly where you need to start.
- 1:04:26That's where games are won or lost is straight up in the trenches.
- 1:04:29We all know that.
- 1:04:30OK, so let's look at other quarterbacks that were projected to be stars to a needed Mike
- 1:04:36McDaniels before he could really do anything.
- 1:04:38Trevor Lawrence hasn't shown greatness.
- 1:04:40He was expected to be the next big thing.
- 1:04:42He was a straight up bust his first year.
- 1:04:44However, he let's let's however, since Urban Meyer left, let's put the he was he was a
- 1:04:51straight up fucking bust his first year.
- 1:04:54But since then, he started finally taking those steps.
- 1:04:57Now it took him.
- 1:04:58What is this year for?
- 1:04:59I think three.
- 1:05:00It took him till now to finally look decent.
- 1:05:03And now he's still losing big games.
- 1:05:05And that's a whole nother conversation.
- 1:05:07So let's let's keep going around those young, those young stud quarterbacks that were coming
- 1:05:11out.
- 1:05:12Justin Herbert is a stud.
- 1:05:13He doesn't have it.
- 1:05:14He doesn't have that foundation.
- 1:05:15He needs a coach.
- 1:05:16No, he needs a coach.
- 1:05:17Staley is a good example.
- 1:05:19Staley, I believe it's how it's said.
- 1:05:20He's a perfect example of like a new age coach that's not going to fucking work.
- 1:05:26And and not to talk about the Vikings again, but like I like KOC, but I'm still determining
- 1:05:31like he's definitely a players coach.
- 1:05:33Right.
- 1:05:34So is he more of a player manager than a coach?
- 1:05:37Because those are two different things to me.
- 1:05:41You know, you're you almost seem like you have to babysit guys now.
- 1:05:45So let's look at the top tier teams in the NFL.
- 1:05:47Let's start with the Eagles because they're, in my opinion, the best team in the NFL.
- 1:05:50Sirianni is not a play caller.
- 1:05:51Jonathan Gannon was running the defense last year.
- 1:05:54Shane Steichen was running the offense, got the head coaching gig at the Colts.
- 1:05:58Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid is the play caller.
- 1:06:00The Ravens.
- 1:06:01Don Harrow ain't calling offensive or defensive plays.
- 1:06:05San Fran.
- 1:06:06Yes, Kyle Shanahan is the play caller, but I think San Fran is more a product of Shanahan
- 1:06:10system than any quarterback that's going to play for him.
- 1:06:13They don't need an elite quarterback to be successful.
- 1:06:15And then, you know, the other top tier teams.
- 1:06:17I mean, do we really have any more top tier teams?
- 1:06:21You know, like top tier, but who else?
- 1:06:23Who else are you going to mention?
- 1:06:24Yeah, I mean, the Cowboys.
- 1:06:26McCarthy's back, calling plays this year with Kellen Moore leaving.
- 1:06:30And it's just I back to the Brady point.
- 1:06:33Do I think that the talent in the NFL is mediocre?
- 1:06:36No.
- 1:06:37And that's not necessarily what he was saying, I guess.
- 1:06:39Maybe I made it portrayed it that way.
- 1:06:41But the play like I just I don't think it's got meteorocity written on it.
- 1:06:46I don't.
- 1:06:47But I again, some of the shit he ends up saying, I do agree with, which I'll touch on.
- 1:06:51But yeah, and I think that's the foundation of it is like, why is he saying that?
- 1:06:55And the points he made after that make all of the sense in the world.
- 1:06:59So so again, he says he ends up stating that like college teams are just teams right now.
- 1:07:05They're not programs like they were.
- 1:07:07So they're not getting teams or players as ready for the NFL as they were before.
- 1:07:11Now, there's still a couple that are definitely programs, pretty much the entire SEC college.
- 1:07:17Football as a whole is an absolute business since the NIL became a thing at the transfer
- 1:07:21portal like you.
- 1:07:22I don't think college football will ever be the same because of not only NIL, but because
- 1:07:26of the transfer port.
- 1:07:28Both of those are massive factors in that it's hard to create some sort of program continuing.
- 1:07:35I'm not even going to say the word, but it's hard to make create a program when when your
- 1:07:41top guy could just be like, you know what?
- 1:07:42I'm not feeling it.
- 1:07:43I'm out.
- 1:07:44I'm going to UCLA or whatever.
- 1:07:46You know, that's the thing.
- 1:07:47You get a quarterback that's a five star recruit who needs to sit one year because they have
- 1:07:50a senior quarterback who can't who's led the team to success the last two, three years
- 1:07:53and doesn't want to sit because they know they can go to somewhere else and be the quarterback
- 1:07:57then or that they might not have the best success.
- 1:08:00But it's and to me, that's the biggest issue in terms of like the play.
- 1:08:04It's the the the personalities of where the world is with the social media aspect of it.
- 1:08:10If one player if a player gets unhappy one time goes on a Twitter rant, says whatever,
- 1:08:14you look at Najee Harris and his post in his interview after the Steelers game, you know,
- 1:08:18like that's the kind of shit you didn't see 10, 15 years ago when Brady was playing and
- 1:08:22where he's coming from.
- 1:08:24And it's just like the whining aspect of it.
- 1:08:27It's are you fully committed to your team in the game of football trying to be the best
- 1:08:30that you can be at your craft?
- 1:08:32No.
- 1:08:33And Brady's sorry, I didn't want to cut you off.
- 1:08:36But Brady also played for Bill Belichick where that wasn't allowed or not a thing.
- 1:08:39So he'd never seen that goes down to Tampa plays under Bruce Arians.
- 1:08:43Not allowed.
- 1:08:44It's not a thing.
- 1:08:45Well, and it's funny you bring up social media because I think that's a massive factor in
- 1:08:50everything that Brady's saying.
- 1:08:52I think there are still absolutely guys over the years that had similar mentalities as
- 1:08:57these guys.
- 1:08:58100 percent.
- 1:08:59It just wasn't being captured because there was no social media.
- 1:09:02There wasn't fucking 30 cameras at a football game.
- 1:09:06You know what I mean?
- 1:09:07It just didn't exist.
- 1:09:08So I think a lot of this stuff is being captured now.
- 1:09:11And then, you know, it just explodes every week.
- 1:09:15There's a new story of whatever.
- 1:09:16Hence Bonehead move of the week.
- 1:09:18But I get what Brady's saying.
- 1:09:22I do.
- 1:09:23I just think that the play as a whole is still at a high level.
- 1:09:28But as far as like his explaining of it, I get it.
- 1:09:32And again, I did look at what he said and explained.
- 1:09:34I didn't just pull this out of my ass.
- 1:09:37And there is one quote that goes along with that coaching, right?
- 1:09:40He said, quote, You hear coaches complaining about their own player being tackled and not
- 1:09:44necessarily why don't they talk to their players about how to protect themselves?
- 1:09:49That that statement, I 100 percent agree with 100 percent that that one hit home as well
- 1:09:55as he's saying with the way that the football rules have changed in terms of defenseless
- 1:10:00or receiver, where if he played and he literally said this, where if he played against Ray
- 1:10:03Lewis, he would not throw the ball over the way.
- 1:10:06Lewis, Ronnie Lott, some some other guys play against Ronnie Lott.
- 1:10:09But it was Ray Lewis.
- 1:10:10I thought I didn't know it was just guys he played against on that.
- 1:10:13But I know, I know.
- 1:10:14So what he was saying, though, is like he said when he played against Ray Lewis, he
- 1:10:18didn't throw the ball over the middle because he knew Ray Lewis would tear the head off
- 1:10:22of his receiver and he couldn't afford to lose one of his receivers.
- 1:10:25So you don't got to worry about that anymore unless you're playing Kareem Jackson.
- 1:10:28Oh, Rodney Harrison, my bad.
- 1:10:30And he did actually he did actually mention Ronnie Lott, my bad.
- 1:10:33He did mention he mentioned Ronnie Lott.
- 1:10:34He just like what the quote I was meaning was he was specifically saying that when he
- 1:10:38was speaking of those, he was saying that that's that old school football that they'll
- 1:10:41take you out.
- 1:10:42And then he spoke specifically about not throwing the ball over the middle against Ray Lewis
- 1:10:48because he didn't want to put his receiver in a position where he's going to get hurt.
- 1:10:52So I actually I listened to I watched the Rodgers on McAfee today and then Rodgers actually
- 1:10:57talked about it after.
- 1:10:58And he almost wholeheartedly agreed with Brady, where he was just like, you know, when he
- 1:11:03first started playing the football and he actually compared it against the Lions between
- 1:11:07like 08 to 2014, where the Lions never really had a great defense, but he knew that he was
- 1:11:12going to get his ass beat every single game.
- 1:11:15And if you look at one of those rule changes, Rodgers is the cause of one of those rule
- 1:11:19changes when Anthony Bar sack them and came down on him and broke his collarbone.
- 1:11:22Yeah, Rodgers and Rodgers immediately said after that, that that was not a dirty hit.
- 1:11:27It was Rodgers fault for holding onto the ball too long and not being able to brace
- 1:11:30himself for the fall.
- 1:11:32Sure, sure.
- 1:11:33Well, and that's just it.
- 1:11:34Like and then Brady also mentioned every like Ray Lewis hit would have been a penalty.
- 1:11:38You know what I mean?
- 1:11:39So that's what he said.
- 1:11:40And then he brought up Ronnie lot, Ronnie Harrison, Ray Lewis.
- 1:11:42And he said every single tackle they made would be a fine on a penalty in the NFL nowadays.
- 1:11:46And that is so and that and that part.
- 1:11:48I agree with him 100 percent.
- 1:11:50And that sucks because it has changed the game.
- 1:11:52It changes how NFL players play the game.
- 1:11:55It changes how coaches coach the game because they have to change.
- 1:11:59You have to change with the rules.
- 1:12:02And you know, he's just pointing that out.
- 1:12:04And I get it.
- 1:12:05I do.
- 1:12:06But I think the play is still a high level.
- 1:12:08I think it's still at a high level, like because it is the highest of the high levels that
- 1:12:12you can just get.
- 1:12:13I just don't like meteorocity being thrown around with the level of play with the NFL.
- 1:12:18I don't because like I mean, that's the highest you can possibly do it.
- 1:12:21Has the game changed since he's played?
- 1:12:23Yes, of course.
- 1:12:24Right.
- 1:12:25He's one of the reasons for a rule change to isn't either reason for quarterbacks not
- 1:12:29being sacked underneath the knee or whatever, which I totally think that's a good thing.
- 1:12:33What Joe Theismann broke his leg, Alex Smith, all that shit.
- 1:12:36Yeah, see that that to me, that rule like you eliminate.
- 1:12:39I don't think you should go in and dive at a quarterback's knees.
- 1:12:44But if you're pushed down by the offensive lineman and you have to wrap up, you can only
- 1:12:47wrap up around the knees.
- 1:12:49That's not so much you can do.
- 1:12:50That's not a penalty.
- 1:12:51That's playing the game.
- 1:12:52But it's like someone coming in and just diving straight at your knees like that.
- 1:12:56That's that's not I don't agree with that.
- 1:12:58And that's what you're seeing more of in the secondary now, which I believe is going to
- 1:13:01lead to a lot more soft tissue injuries.
- 1:13:03And it's just and and I don't have a fix.
- 1:13:07You know, I'm not going to say go back to the old days and let these guys head hunt
- 1:13:09because we have to protect the players to a certain degree.
- 1:13:12And that's the thing.
- 1:13:14It's like there's so much debate and conversation about this area.
- 1:13:18But there's just there's no there's no right answer, in my opinion.
- 1:13:21You know, there's always going to be something that that should be allowed.
- 1:13:24Shouldn't be allowed.
- 1:13:25Do I think that they are protecting the players too much at this point?
- 1:13:29I do.
- 1:13:30You're taking out a lot of the physicality of football.
- 1:13:32One of my favorite things to do is put on an array or a Ray Lewis highlight tape and
- 1:13:38watch them just fucking demolish people over the middle.
- 1:13:40Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:41No, he was nasty for sure.
- 1:13:42I mean, like like Brady said, all those hits would probably be penalties nowadays.
- 1:13:46All the blind side stuff would be a penalty nowadays.
- 1:13:49So again, the blind side stuff I can get behind, too, because like a lot of times, I had a
- 1:13:54blind side hit that like you could really mess somebody up.
- 1:13:57That's what I'm saying.
- 1:13:58I'm OK with taking that out of the league, especially because you were seeing it where
- 1:14:01players were just being dirty, a player is not even in contention to make his name.
- 1:14:04You're taking out Berset, Berfet, Vontez, Berfet.
- 1:14:08Yeah, dude, he was one of the best at that.
- 1:14:10But I'm not going to lie, though, with that whole thing happened when Juju fucking nailed
- 1:14:14him and stood over it.
- 1:14:15Oh, dude, I love that.
- 1:14:16So proud.
- 1:14:17I love that.
- 1:14:18I know.
- 1:14:19Did you get suspended for that?
- 1:14:20I can't remember.
- 1:14:21I'm sure he played a game or something.
- 1:14:22But I love that.
- 1:14:23You have to guarantee you have that.
- 1:14:24I felt most of it.
- 1:14:25I felt love that shit.
- 1:14:26Oh, yeah, dude.
- 1:14:28That made me so happy.
- 1:14:29But again, as a whole, not like the biggest bonehead play of the week.
- 1:14:33But I thought it was definitely worth talking about.
- 1:14:35And we could probably still talk about it.
- 1:14:37Yeah, most certainly.
- 1:14:38We could do a whole episode on just just that itself.
- 1:14:40But let's move on to the week 12 slate.
- 1:14:43We're going to start this week off being a holiday week.
- 1:14:45We have Thanksgiving quickly approaching the Packers and the Lions.
- 1:14:50Lions are always going to plan Thanksgiving.
- 1:14:52Packers tend to usually are one of those games that they do play or one of those teams that
- 1:14:56they do play.
- 1:14:57We have the Lions favored by seven in this game.
- 1:15:01I'll start us off and I think the Packers are going to cover that seven.
- 1:15:03I think the Lions win this game.
- 1:15:05But the power I've seen in the Packers offense the last two weeks, I don't know if it's replicable.
- 1:15:09I don't know if they can continue it, but they have shown they can at least for one
- 1:15:12week.
- 1:15:13And the Packers defense is playing pretty damn good right now.
- 1:15:16So I I'm scared shitless to see what Jamar Gibbs Gibbs and David Montgomery are going
- 1:15:21to do.
- 1:15:22But I think the Packers are going to keep this one close.
- 1:15:24And I think this this should be more of a three to five point spread.
- 1:15:28Yeah, I have the Lions winning and the Packers not covering that straight up.
- 1:15:33I think the Lions win by two, three scores.
- 1:15:36I think I don't think it's going to be close.
- 1:15:38It's in Detroit, right?
- 1:15:39Is it always in Detroit?
- 1:15:40Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:43So I dude.
- 1:15:44No, no way.
- 1:15:45Lions all day.
- 1:15:47Best running back to win the league.
- 1:15:49We've talked about it before.
- 1:15:51Jared Goff is money right now.
- 1:15:53Yeah, Lions take that for sure.
- 1:15:57We will agree to disagree on that one.
- 1:15:59That's all we do.
- 1:16:00That's all we do.
- 1:16:01That makes it interesting.
- 1:16:03So your Vikings are hosting the Chicago Bears on Monday night football.
- 1:16:07Vikings are a three point favorite in that one.
- 1:16:08What do you got?
- 1:16:09Yeah, I mean, I'll be at that game, so I'll probably get sub in the game at QB and I'm
- 1:16:13going to lead us to a victory.
- 1:16:15I say the Vikings take the dub.
- 1:16:18Maybe I give a little halftime update or something like, hey, yeah.
- 1:16:22And we suck real bad and, you know, see what happens next week.
- 1:16:27I'm in agreement with you.
- 1:16:28The Bears are just a just terrible football team at this point.
- 1:16:31So I don't see them being able to really do much.
- 1:16:34And I think Josh Dobbs is going to bounce back.
- 1:16:36Now it's the week to do it because the Bears defense is shredded cheese.
- 1:16:39But I think I'm agree with you.
- 1:16:40I think the Vikings are going to cover that three points, especially at home on Monday
- 1:16:43night.
- 1:16:44It's going to be rocking.
- 1:16:45It is.
- 1:16:46It is.
- 1:16:47So that leads us to an NFC West face off here.
- 1:16:50We have the San Francisco 49ers traveling up to Seattle, taking on the Seahawks.
- 1:16:55The Seahawks are a seven point underdog in this game, and it is the first game we are
- 1:17:00ever having on Black Friday.
- 1:17:03First game ever?
- 1:17:04First game ever on Black Friday.
- 1:17:05Is this like a weird Amazon Prime game too?
- 1:17:07It is.
- 1:17:08Of course.
- 1:17:09Of course it is.
- 1:17:12I don't know why that geeked me out so bad.
- 1:17:15Yeah, I think the 49ers are too much right now.
- 1:17:18I think they've started to find their stride.
- 1:17:20Do the Seahawks cover?
- 1:17:24Yeah.
- 1:17:25Yeah.
- 1:17:26I think it's close.
- 1:17:29I'm with you.
- 1:17:30I don't think this is going to be a close game.
- 1:17:31What I saw of the 49ers last week, Brock Purdy having a perfect passer rating.
- 1:17:34I mean, they played the Bucks.
- 1:17:36They're not a great team by any way, shape or form, but I think the 49ers are back and
- 1:17:40the Seahawks with Gino being banged up with Kenneth Walker might not be able to go.
- 1:17:45True.
- 1:17:46I just don't see 49ers not winning this game by seven.
- 1:17:50CMC is healthy, right?
- 1:17:51CMC is healthy.
- 1:17:52Deebo healthy?
- 1:17:53Deebo's back.
- 1:17:54Oh dude.
- 1:17:55Yeah, they're going to dog walk the Seahawks.
- 1:17:57Is it in Seattle?
- 1:17:58I want to change your pick.
- 1:17:59It's in Seattle.
- 1:18:00Yeah, let me change it.
- 1:18:01I think Niners just straight up whooped their ass.
- 1:18:04Yeah, I don't see this game being close to be honest with you.
- 1:18:07It's the defense for me.
- 1:18:08Seriously, every week for the Niners, it's the defense for me that makes a difference.
- 1:18:12We know Purdy's good enough to win games, but I think it's that defense that truly will
- 1:18:17make the difference.
- 1:18:18Well, we're in agreement on that one.
- 1:18:20Next we have our game of the week.
- 1:18:22The Buffalo Bills traveling to the city of brotherly love, taking on the Eagles.
- 1:18:28Eagles are a three point favorite in this game.
- 1:18:30What are your thoughts, brother?
- 1:18:31I know where I'm going.
- 1:18:32I'm going Eagles.
- 1:18:34It's yeah, I mean, it's not even close here either.
- 1:18:37Honestly, the Bills seem to be sputtering hard right now and they cannot seem to figure
- 1:18:41it out.
- 1:18:42I think the and we just saw what the Eagles defense did in the second half in that KC
- 1:18:46game.
- 1:18:47I think if that defense shows up from the start of the game, it's a wrap.
- 1:18:51I'm going to disagree with you on this one.
- 1:18:52I think the Bills came out last week.
- 1:18:53They look good.
- 1:18:54That offense looked like they was rejuvenated.
- 1:18:57You know, they didn't play a top tier team by any way, shape or form, but they just look
- 1:19:03like they might have had it back.
- 1:19:04I mean, they dog walk the Jets.
- 1:19:06The Jets are a shit show, but I like what I saw out of the Bills last week.
- 1:19:10I'm still not 100 percent sold on the Eagles.
- 1:19:12I want to see a little bit more against another good team.
- 1:19:15And I think the Bills, they might not win this game.
- 1:19:17I like the three point spread.
- 1:19:19I think that's pretty fair.
- 1:19:20But I see this as a, you know, one or two point game with the Bills either coming out
- 1:19:24on top or covering that spread.
- 1:19:27So at least we have two games we disagree on so far.
- 1:19:30We're going to finish up this slate with an AFC South battle.
- 1:19:33The Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the rejuvenated CJ Stroud led Houston Texans.
- 1:19:39Jaguars go down as only a one and a half point favorite.
- 1:19:42That's a little bit closer than I expected on this game, a little bit too close for my
- 1:19:45liking.
- 1:19:46But I'm going to start us off here and I think the Texans are going to win this game.
- 1:19:49I don't even need the one and a half points.
- 1:19:51I would go Texans money line on this one.
- 1:19:53Yeah, I mean, this game is almost game of the week for me, to be honest, like game of
- 1:19:57the week, plan B, you know what I mean?
- 1:20:00But the Jaguars have to win this game.
- 1:20:02If they mean with the AFC North Slate coming up, they have to win this game.
- 1:20:06But I'm agreeing with you.
- 1:20:08I don't think they do.
- 1:20:09I think the CJ Stroud is too hot right now.
- 1:20:12I think the Texans could win by almost two scores straight up.
- 1:20:18I think the Texans, I think are they in a playoff spot right now in the wild card?
- 1:20:22No, I know they're outside looking in, though.
- 1:20:24They're in quote unquote in the hunt.
- 1:20:26I think they can actually make a play for a playoff spot.
- 1:20:29And I'm sorry, the Texans are.
- 1:20:30They're currently the sixth seed.
- 1:20:32Are they?
- 1:20:33Are they?
- 1:20:34OK, and this is in Houston, right?
- 1:20:36This is in Houston.
- 1:20:37Oh, they're going to come alive there.
- 1:20:38This is a game they have to win.
- 1:20:40Both teams need this game bad.
- 1:20:42That's going to be a good game.
- 1:20:43But I think Texans take it.
- 1:20:44I agree with you, man.
- 1:20:46Like I said, I mean, I don't need the money on this one.
- 1:20:48I don't need to spread on this one.
- 1:20:49I think the Texans win this game.
- 1:20:50CJ Stroud is playing absolutely unbelievable right now.
- 1:20:53Tank Dell is coming on super strong.
- 1:20:56Nico Collins been a little bit banged up.
- 1:20:57Hadn't really done what he did the first half of the year.
- 1:20:59But I'm not sold on this Jaguars team.
- 1:21:02I'm really not.
- 1:21:03I'm telling you, they need this game.
- 1:21:04They do.
- 1:21:05They play Texans and then the Titans and then it's the gauntlet of the AFC North right now.
- 1:21:11So they really have to prove it to themselves.
- 1:21:12They really need to win these next two games before they even get to those three.
- 1:21:17Yeah, man.
- 1:21:18It's Texans, Bengals, Browns, Ravens.
- 1:21:20Now Bengals, Browns, a little bit different landscape now that the quarterbacks are out.
- 1:21:24But again, this is a must win game then.
- 1:21:25It is.
- 1:21:26It is.
- 1:21:27I mean, even if you look at so the Jaguars won the first game earlier this year in week
- 1:21:31two.
- 1:21:33But this is going to in my opinion, this is going to show how the AFC South is going to
- 1:21:36go this year.
- 1:21:37If the Texans win this game without looking at divisional records, without digging too
- 1:21:41deep, they're going to have be tied for the lead in that first in first in the AFC South.
- 1:21:46Even not just this season.
- 1:21:48I think this is a preview of the AFC South looking at the future.
- 1:21:52The only thing I would add to that is the Colts with Anthony Richardson coming back
- 1:21:56next year.
- 1:21:57No, AFC South as a whole, I think is actually getting way better.
- 1:22:00The future is bright.
- 1:22:01I think it could be interesting.
