- 0:00As part of Ferrari Fridays, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace
- 0:04will be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live
- 0:07and breathe the Ferrari brand.
- 0:09Topics range from road cars to racing, drivers to owners, as well
- 0:13as auctions, private sales, and trends in the collector market.
- 0:31Hello everyone, and I'm back.
- 0:34So I've been a couple weeks, but hey, I'm back.
- 0:37I was doing a little traveling and today's episode is what we are
- 0:40going to talk about in my travels.
- 0:43I was down at Amelia Island.
- 0:46For one, went to the concourse.
- 0:48Two, went to a bunch of auctions.
- 0:50Um, so we're going to kind of discuss the auctions.
- 0:53We're going to discuss the concourse itself.
- 0:55Hagerty has, uh, taken over.
- 0:58So, you know, obviously they're kind of gaining some ground.
- 1:01But, you know, there's a few other events they got going on.
- 1:05I just appreciate everybody listening and like I said, Hey, you know, share
- 1:09this, put it out there in the world.
- 1:10We have to try and spread the word and let's try and grow this as much as we can.
- 1:14And, uh, we got some exciting stuff coming up.
- 1:16Uh, I don't know if any of you have gone on to the website,
- 1:20the Ferrari marketplace.
- 1:21com or if you go to exotic car marketplace.
- 1:24com, uh, we have some exciting things coming up.
- 1:27We're partnering up with a few other entities.
- 1:30I do a bunch of stuff with and we're going to kind of create this big,
- 1:36I want to say conglomerate, but big media type company that, you know,
- 1:39parent company oversee everything.
- 1:41We're going to kind of combine all this stuff and help everybody out.
- 1:44We're going to try and create more content, more articles, um, you know,
- 1:48have a lot more fun with this and see what we can do with everything.
- 1:51Uh, and from exotics to classics to garage style, you know, people,
- 1:56you know, that's big thing.
- 1:57It's happening now is, you know, people, I mean, people always have, you
- 2:02know, personalized their home garage, but you know, the big thing now is
- 2:06everyone's purchasing these garage condos or getting these, you know, garage
- 2:11condos at these private racetracks.
- 2:13And if you're the 1 percent or 1 percent or whatever that can
- 2:16afford to do that, God bless you.
- 2:18Uh, some of these ones, I mean, they're doing some fantastic stuff and
- 2:22these, uh, private tracks and whatnot are popping up all over the country.
- 2:26Um, I don't know if it's all over the world, I don't know about
- 2:28over in Europe and whatnot, but.
- 2:30I'm sure they are too, but I know over here in the States,
- 2:32there's a bunch popping up here in the next couple of years.
- 2:35There's gonna be quite a few opening up.
- 2:36Uh, I know there's the one down in Columbus, Ohio, um, the Resolute,
- 2:40uh, down in Tennessee itself.
- 2:42There's actually two.
- 2:42Uh, there's a really nice one.
- 2:44If you go down to our website, you'll see it's Flat Rock, uh, Motor Club.
- 2:48They have a, that's gonna be an outstanding facility.
- 2:50Uh, there's one down in Florida.
- 2:53Uh, I believe it's just outside Ocala, something like that.
- 2:56Uh, a good friend of mine, uh, Mike Pipitone is kind of, uh.
- 3:00Helping out there heading up some sales and marketing for them.
- 3:03So check that one out.
- 3:04I'll have you know more info I can get I will pass it along to everybody.
- 3:08So but anyway, let's dive into this So my travels they started on Tuesday of
- 3:15Amelia Island week weekend or whatever I call it So on Tuesday, I traveled down
- 3:21to Atlanta very early in the morning I got one caught one of the first flights
- 3:26here out of Cleveland and got down there and I actually met up with my good
- 3:31friend Mike, uh, he lives in the Atlanta area and we went and checked out the
- 3:36Porsche Experience Center down there.
- 3:38So I, something I highly recommend, now I will say this, there's an awesome
- 3:43restaurant that overlooks the test track or track or however you want to call it,
- 3:47uh, the food I had, I had this salad with this chicken breast on it and the chicken
- 3:51breast basically was like shoe leather.
- 3:53Um, I don't know if the cook was having or the chef was having an off day with mine.
- 3:57Uh, food or what, but from what I've told, you know, the other stuff's pretty good.
- 4:02If you get a big heap of portions of it, uh, the wiener schnitzel or
- 4:07the chicken schnitzel or whatever the heck it's called, um, I highly
- 4:10recommend and you get a big, huge ass piece of meat on your plate.
- 4:16Um, but I will say this, it is not cheap to eat there, uh, for two
- 4:21people, especially if you're having a couple of cocktails or you have
- 4:24one beer each or something like that.
- 4:26With tip and everything you're gonna be pushing probably if you get main meals
- 4:30close to probably 80 to 100 bucks You know with including tip so I mean it is
- 4:35not cheap, but you can't beat the view so anyways They have some really cool things.
- 4:41You know it's not like There's not anything crazy.
- 4:43It's not like this massive museum.
- 4:45Um, but what they have is they have the heritage centers.
- 4:48I definitely recommend.
- 4:49Hey, when you go there, it's, it's free to go.
- 4:52It doesn't cost anything.
- 4:53Um, I don't forget to set up an appointment or what, um,
- 4:57you know, to schedule to go through there and do everything.
- 4:59Um, but you can just do the tour and walk around and they have,
- 5:04they have this really cool wall.
- 5:05It's got all from the beginning to current day.
- 5:09Of all these, like, uh, what say one 18 scale models, one 14 scale models
- 5:14of all the race cars and cars, uh, that Porsche is built throughout the years.
- 5:18So basically starting from the first one all the way to the most recent one.
- 5:22Uh, so I have this big wall.
- 5:23What's on there?
- 5:24If you check out my YouTube channel, uh, I got it.
- 5:27Some great video from being there.
- 5:29Uh, but so you go in that they have a cool gift shop.
- 5:32Now if they, one thing they have and I, why I didn't test it out.
- 5:35I don't know.
- 5:35I just.
- 5:36We were going there and I was waiting on Mike and I told him, I
- 5:39said, Hey, you got to come back and check it out, but he didn't do it.
- 5:41But they have this awesome simulator room that has got, I think it's like
- 5:45six or seven simulators that you can test out and try out different
- 5:50tracks, everything like that.
- 5:51You can race against your buddy or just, you know, race against yourself,
- 5:53try and set, you know, best time against, against ones that have
- 5:56already, people have already gone.
- 5:58So, um, I want to say it was like 50 for like 30 minutes or for 45 minutes.
- 6:03It was a good deal actually for what you got to do, um, you got to spend a lot of
- 6:07time doing it so actually it wasn't that bad price to do it, um, but for whatever
- 6:12reason it's kind of, I didn't go back and do it, why I don't know, but hey,
- 6:15that's just me, so, but, you can test it out, they have a cool little gift shop,
- 6:19again, stuff's not cheap, uh, they got some really cool merchandise, uh, it's
- 6:24not a lot, it's not a big gift shop, you know, it's not like you're gonna have
- 6:27like Porsche overload, uh, but they have some really cool stuff, but again, hey,
- 6:30the stuff is not cheap, You'd always hit on the sale, hit up the sales rack.
- 6:34They have some stuff that's usually on sale.
- 6:36Uh, they had some like cool shirt stuff like for like, you know, 30, 40 bucks.
- 6:39So it wasn't too bad, but, uh, majority of the stuff was you're closer to
- 6:42a hundred, starting adding that.
- 6:46So jackets, shirts, t-shirts, button down shirts, polo shirts, everything like that.
- 6:50So now the one thing I was kind of surprised is they did not
- 6:54have that many newer model cars.
- 6:56You know, the 20, 23 miles on the floor.
- 6:57They had a couple, uh, but they normally, they have more, but I don't
- 7:01know if they're just in a transition or what, but they were lacking.
- 7:04New model cars on the floor area where you come walking in at so I was a
- 7:09little bit surprised by that now They also have this really cool interactive
- 7:13wall That kind of goes through the history and stuff you pull some off
- 7:16pictures videos stuff like that.
- 7:18That was really really neat They have this really cool sculpture up in the
- 7:22air like you stand underneath it.
- 7:23You look up.
- 7:23It's a kind of a cutout So it's really neat stuff But again, the one cool thing
- 7:29was the heritage centers where they got all the cool old cars older cars race
- 7:34cars, you know 959, um, yeah, 917, um, 904, 908, um, which I remember off the
- 7:42top of my head some of the stuff they had a 959, um, older 911s, 911 RS, um,
- 7:49they had a Carrera GT, you know, so they had some really, really cool stuff, but
- 7:53again, not massive, you know, not like they had hundreds of cars there, you
- 7:56know, I think they had maybe 20 cars, 15 to 20 cars in total, but, you know,
- 8:01significant stuff, and they all had kind of displayed very nice, everything like
- 8:04that, so it's really neat to check out.
- 8:06But I mean, the thing you're going there to do, and again, it's, again, on the
- 8:10cheap side, but hey, it's an experience.
- 8:12I just didn't have time to do it that day.
- 8:14As you go take a car on test track.
- 8:16Now they have various different levels of cars you can try out.
- 8:21Uh, and so the price varies.
- 8:22It starts, I 300 and you actually get a lot of time.
- 8:25You get like 45 minutes or something like that, or over an hour.
- 8:28Um, if not, maybe a little bit longer.
- 8:30So, I mean, you get your values with money worth and you can just
- 8:33do as many as lap as you want.
- 8:35So it's just timeline.
- 8:36So, you know, they have the.
- 8:37The one track going, you know, on the outside and they have like a
- 8:40skid pad, um, they have the other one where it kind of kicks you
- 8:43sideways, you know, the wet track.
- 8:45So they have really, really cool stuff.
- 8:47And, like I said, you can do everything from, you know, a Boxer or a Cayman
- 8:51all the way up to, uh, a GT3.
- 8:55So, I mean, it goes all the way up, the Turbo S.
- 8:57So, I mean, you can have a lot of fun and do it.
- 8:59So, now they also, it's opening up April 1st, so it's coming up.
- 9:05Uh, they actually expanded the track, basically doubled the size of the track.
- 9:10So now, I don't know if that means they're going to double the amount of spaces that
- 9:16are open that you can go and do this.
- 9:18Now, because when I was there, it seemed like you could probably just walk in and
- 9:21just, you know, get, you know, hey, can I do some driving and you can go do it.
- 9:25Now, normally I say, hey, you got to call ahead, set up your time, make a
- 9:28register, you know, register for it and everything like that, make a reservation.
- 9:31And so, I don't know, because from looking at it.
- 9:33I wouldn't say it was identical, but it was pretty close to, it was very, very
- 9:38similar to what the current track offers.
- 9:42Now the design and the layout, they have a cool carousel turn
- 9:45that mimics the Nurburgring carousel, which is really neat.
- 9:49Um, and it's got more undulations and more heights and stuff like that to it.
- 9:54So it's really, really neat track.
- 9:56Um, so I, again, I don't know if they'll let you do it where you can,
- 9:59Hey, you can do the long course where it takes you, you know, it'd be.
- 10:02Couple miles long or you know, hey, they're just split in half where they
- 10:05can have they can double them out of people They're out on the track doing it.
- 10:09So again, it's all about that So but anyways, I know one kind of just
- 10:14a side I know we're talking about Porsche's a Ferrari podcast, but I'm
- 10:17just telling you about my jet ventures down a million I so we checked it out
- 10:21and did that so that was a lot of fun.
- 10:23It was cool We kind of you know hung out there for the day, but then from
- 10:26there we went to check out one of these cool There's a lot of cool little
- 10:30dealers down there to land it because obviously it lands a massive market I
- 10:33mean Land is big, so if you've ever been to Atlanta and tried to drive around
- 10:37Atlanta, it takes you a long time to get anywhere because it's pretty massive.
- 10:41I mean, it's spread way out, so I mean, it's pretty damn big.
- 10:44Uh, and they have a lot of construction going on, so it kind of takes
- 10:46you a little bit to get anywhere.
- 10:47But anyways, we went to check out this other dealer, uh, and kind of, let's say
- 10:51a, kind of like I say a boutique dealer.
- 10:53Because, you know, you go in, um, there's Miller Motor Cars, um,
- 10:57And you go, you walk through and it's appointment only to go in.
- 11:00So fortunately Mike, you know, knows people there.
- 11:03So we're able to just kind of go in and call the head.
- 11:05Um, so yeah, it's not like you just walk in off the street and just,
- 11:08Hey, I want to look at some cars.
- 11:09Anyway, so you walk in and show them four there.
- 11:11I mean, they got, I think, six cars on the floor there, maybe only five.
- 11:16Um, so they had a Testarossa 308, um, or 328.
- 11:21Um, so they, you know, and an old Model T, which is a really cool car.
- 11:24Uh, they had their old Model T racer.
- 11:27But like I said, they didn't have much of a thing, but then they had a massive, you
- 11:29know, uh, shop, you know, doing service work and from what my understanding is,
- 11:34it's something they just really started expanding into is doing the service work
- 11:39due to the fact is, hey, you know, the demands there, hey, and there's, you
- 11:42make a lot of money doing service work.
- 11:44And if you got the guys that know what they're doing, it's a great thing
- 11:47to get into to service those cars.
- 11:49So, I mean, you can charge, you know, you charge a hundred some dollars an
- 11:51hour just to labor and then you got your parts and everything like that.
- 11:54So, but the cool thing was is, You know, out back, they had a lot more
- 11:58cars that they had available for sale, but the owner had his own private
- 12:04vault, as he called it, collection in his barn out back, garage, whatever
- 12:07you want to call it, where he had a whole ton of cars back in there.
- 12:10Um, now these are all ones that I want to say not bought on speculation, but bought
- 12:16under the, you know, guys that, hey, because they will, they'll go up in value.
- 12:20I mean, because the majority of them are Ferraris.
- 12:22Um, had Testarossas, had some Vital TRs.
- 12:25Uh, but he has some nice Porsches in there too.
- 12:28Older Porsche, new Porsche, Acura NSX.
- 12:30Um, you know, he had a lot, a lot of cool stuff that, yeah,
- 12:34they're going to go up in value.
- 12:35So it's more kind of an investment thing.
- 12:36And as the kid that was still walking us around said, Hey, the guy's, the guy's
- 12:39got some kids headed off to college soon.
- 12:41Right there's your college paying for your college education.
- 12:43So, but again, you know, hey, you get a special client.
- 12:46They're looking for something.
- 12:47You have it in stock.
- 12:48It's right there.
- 12:48It's kind of an off market, private sale thing.
- 12:51You don't put it out there.
- 12:51You don't advertise much.
- 12:53Again, these guys don't put all their cars out.
- 12:55And that's something you're going to find for all you people out there shopping
- 12:58around and it's kind of one of the things, you know, a lot of these boutique
- 13:03dealers and that do not advertise all the cars that they have available for sale.
- 13:08And that's where someone like myself comes in.
- 13:10And what I do with finding these off market cars is I know these people,
- 13:13I know these dealers, so I can give them a ring and they'll, if I ask
- 13:17for something specific or I say, Hey, you know, what do you got good?
- 13:19That's kind of off market.
- 13:20I got a client.
- 13:21They'll let me know.
- 13:22Now, it ain't just Joe Schmo calls up there and goes, Oh, no,
- 13:24we don't have anything like that.
- 13:25No, everything's on the website.
- 13:26Blah, blah.
- 13:27So it's kind of, you know, it's a close knit network of individuals that, Hey,
- 13:33you know, we're looking out for the client and we want to make the client happy.
- 13:36But the fact is, you know, Hey, you bring more clients, sell more cars.
- 13:40Hey, everyone makes more money.
- 13:41So it's kind of like a rub my back, rub your back type deal.
- 13:44But anyways, so anyways, that wrapped up the first day.
- 13:47Then Tuesday morning was the big, we went over to Merit Partners.
- 13:51Now, I don't know how many of you guys, you know, watch on, you
- 13:54know, Shmee150 on YouTube, old Tim.
- 13:57He was actually there a few weeks ago, did a nice video on it, but, uh, I know
- 14:00the guy's there for a little while, so I wanted to go there and meet these
- 14:04guys and just check out the facility.
- 14:05Again, they're another one where they have a very small amount of
- 14:08cars on their website compared to what they actually have in inventory.
- 14:11Now, where they're located, you would not know that that's where it was there.
- 14:15You would drive by it.
- 14:16A thousand times not realize that there's an exotic car dealership tucked
- 14:19away back in this industrial corner, uh, where all these buildings are at.
- 14:23You have no clue.
- 14:24I mean, it's, they have a small sign, but it's not like they got all these cars
- 14:28parked out front or anything like that.
- 14:29You'd have no idea.
- 14:30It's behind the gate.
- 14:30You got to get buzzed in.
- 14:32So you go in and they just spent, God, he told me, it was like, you know,
- 14:36excess of a million dollars in regards to, uh, remodeling and refurbishing
- 14:41this building that they're in.
- 14:43And it's.
- 14:44Gorgeous inside and you know, they still had a few little touch up
- 14:47things here to do, but they had to put it into one bar top and everything
- 14:50like that, but absolutely gorgeous.
- 14:52You know, it's gonna be perfect.
- 14:53I, I, from my point and what I would do if I was always saying, you
- 14:56know, have events there, you know, whatnot, you know, bring people in,
- 14:59you know, do kind of stuff like that.
- 15:00It's gonna be perfect for it.
- 15:02But as soon as you walk in, they had an F 50.
- 15:04You had a couple of Carrera GTs, a Ford GT, a new Ford GT, the newer one.
- 15:08Um, you know, and just some absolute beautiful stuff.
- 15:10But again, you go out into, I want to say the warehouse, but where they have A
- 15:15little majority of other cars because they also not only the cars that they have for
- 15:19available for sale that they own They also do consignment So they just they have a
- 15:24plethora of cars available and I mean some very very very unique Very rare stuff.
- 15:31So if you're looking for something unique and rare Give me a call and I'll
- 15:36hook you guys I'll hook you up with the guys at merit and I'll help you
- 15:39guys out I said they had some really really cool stuff and very rare stuff.
- 15:45So I highly recommend if you're looking for something unique,
- 15:48something rare, get a hold of me.
- 15:49I'll get you hooked up with the guys at Merritt and, um, get
- 15:53you guys, get you taken care of.
- 15:54So that was really cool meeting those guys.
- 15:57So then on Wednesday afternoon, since I was in Atlanta and Jacksonville, it was
- 16:02only a little over a five hour drive away.
- 16:04I was like, well, screw it.
- 16:05No, I'm just going to drive there.
- 16:06Why, why fly?
- 16:07I didn't want to deal with the hassle of the airport because
- 16:08Atlanta airport's a nightmare.
- 16:10I was a flight through there and at the end of this podcast when I
- 16:13left it was a fucking nightmare.
- 16:14Pardon my French, but.
- 16:16Um, so I had read it, actually, I don't know if anyone's, you know,
- 16:19heard of Sixt, S I X T, car rental.
- 16:23Fantastic.
- 16:25If you're at a, uh, a major city that has Sixt as a car rental company, use them.
- 16:30They have nice, yeah, BMWs, Mercedes, uh, I mean, they got nice cars and
- 16:35they're very, very reasonably priced.
- 16:37I was going to rent a 5 Series, but I had got, I got in about 4 hours earlier
- 16:42than I was supposed to be and the car that I was supposed to have, you know,
- 16:45wasn't back yet or ready or whatnot.
- 16:46So.
- 16:47The kind lady behind the desk said, well, I got a seven series and you
- 16:50know, it's supposed to be about another 30 something dollars a day, but
- 16:52I'll only charge you $20 more a day.
- 16:54And I was like, all right, so what's my total?
- 16:56Basically for that Tuesday, all the way to the following Monday, which was basically
- 17:02seven days, cost me $782 for a BMW seven series, unlimited miles, everything.
- 17:08So it worked out perfect.
- 17:09And what's better than a seven series to go on a nice little road trip from Ja uh,
- 17:13Atlanta down to Jacksonville and back.
- 17:15So.
- 17:16Wednesday afternoon, I hopped in.
- 17:17Now, unfortunately, traffic was a little bit kind of crap on the way out, but
- 17:22for some reason, I could not get the phone and everything to sync up to work
- 17:26right, so I could talk hands free to the phone while I was driving, so I kept
- 17:30getting a couple phone calls, important phone calls, so I kept having to pull
- 17:33over, turn off the car, and then make my phone call, and talk, and then get
- 17:39back on and go on the road, so five hour driving, I'm taking almost seven
- 17:42hours, and I had to keep stopping.
- 17:43Now, the one was, you know, a very important one, but there's a funny one,
- 17:46because At one point, I just pulled off, got off on an off ramp and just as I got
- 17:51to, you know, halfway off the off ramp, I was going down, I, I just pulled off
- 17:54to the end of where the guard rail's at, you know, so it was nice, out of the way,
- 17:57so one of the AAA guys, like, within five minutes was up behind me, puts a sign,
- 18:00whatever, I'm trying to wave him, hey, no, I'm, I'm good, I'm just on a phone call,
- 18:03so then I had to get going and I had to go drive, you know, around the thing, so
- 18:07it was kind of, it was kind of humorous, I felt bad for the guy, didn't know he
- 18:11thought he was going to come and help me and everything like that, but anyways,
- 18:13so I got down to Jacksonville, I got in a day early, so I was able to rummage up
- 18:18a hotel room, actually on Amelia Island.
- 18:21It wasn't bad, it was only 130 for the one night.
- 18:23And, you know, if you drove past it, you would think it was some shit box motel.
- 18:28You know, um, it was a decent size, but it was one of those, you know,
- 18:31your, your, uh, entry to your room is outside, so it's a two story job.
- 18:37One of those, you know, motel six type situations, or red roof inn or something
- 18:40like that, I guess you would call it.
- 18:42Um, but they, I tell you what, it was completely redone and kudos.
- 18:46My one good friend, Andrew, you know, he's the one that said, Hey, there's still
- 18:48rooms available on Amelia actually itself.
- 18:51So, um, I went and checked out now.
- 18:53And the funny thing was, is they had rooms available for the whole weekend.
- 18:56And, but the problem was, is on Friday, they jumped up to almost 400 a night.
- 19:02Now, what's the person behind the desk saying?
- 19:04Look, you have rooms here.
- 19:06Why not?
- 19:07Just give me the room for the 140.
- 19:08I'll take it.
- 19:09So it's all the way through till Monday.
- 19:11I mean until Sunday because I got I had to drive back up Sunday night
- 19:13back to Atlanta, but no, no You know, there's a Concord Square this weekend.
- 19:17Well, no shit Sherlock.
- 19:18That's what I'm in town for So my guy fine no money compared to some money.
- 19:23I don't know.
- 19:24I take some money over no money So hey, then the room sets are empty.
- 19:28No skin off my back So I end up staying, you know out by the Jacksonville Airport
- 19:31because it's only It's about 25 30 minutes from, you know, Jacksonville over to
- 19:35Amelia Island to get to where the stuff's at, you know, because of traffic and
- 19:38I don't know if I've ever been to it.
- 19:40You know, once you get onto the island itself, there's a lot of two lane
- 19:42stuff, so, and, you know, there's a lot of traffic going on, so it
- 19:44takes a little bit to get anywhere.
- 19:46So, anyways, so, but it was really cool because, you know, I got to,
- 19:50uh, you know, I got up early, uh, on Thursday morning, went and watched the
- 19:56sunrise, everything like that, and, you know, just kind of relaxed and
- 19:59chilled and went to the first auction.
- 20:01Now, I went to the Gooding Auction, you know, did the preview and everything
- 20:04like that, because it really didn't start until 3 o'clock that day on Thursday,
- 20:06but they had all the preview stuff, but I got there right at 9 when it opened
- 20:10up, so basically there was nobody there.
- 20:13I think there was maybe 15 of us walking around, checking all the
- 20:16cars, so it was really, really cool.
- 20:18Now, here's the stupid thing.
- 20:20So, I go in, I paid to get in, it was 40 to get in.
- 20:23Now, I have my GoPro with me, because obviously it's a little
- 20:26more, you know, easier to handle, have it on the handle, you know,
- 20:29go around and do it to shoot video.
- 20:31Well Since I didn't have a media pass, I got asked to not film with the GoPro.
- 20:38And now here's, here's the stupid part.
- 20:40Oh, you can use your phone though.
- 20:41Use your phone.
- 20:41All you want is shoot video.
- 20:42But I just, we can't have you using your GoPro.
- 20:44You know, you're looking professional like that.
- 20:46If you don't have media credentials, I'm like, whatever.
- 20:49I'm like, does that make sense to you?
- 20:52I mean, it's one half of one or the other.
- 20:54Either I'm filming with my phone or the GoPro.
- 20:56There's no difference.
- 20:57So I find, so I broke out my handle for my phone, mounted on that, and just
- 21:01used my phone to do everything Then.
- 21:03So I shot all the video on my phone.
- 21:04So I was like, fine, you know, don't use my phone to do it.
- 21:07So now here's a cool thing.
- 21:09They had some really nice stuff this year at Goody.
- 21:11Now they're, you know, they're David and his crew.
- 21:14They curate quite a nice selection of cars, but this year they did very,
- 21:20very well in regards to, I guess you'd say the selections they had,
- 21:24you know, normally you have kind of a lot of, you know, leaning towards one
- 21:28genre or something like that and you know, in years past, it's like they
- 21:31had a lot of like more pre war stuff.
- 21:34Uh, like Duesenbergs, Packards, that kind of stuff.
- 21:36Now, this year, they had like one Duesenberg, they
- 21:39had, I think, two Packards.
- 21:41Um, they didn't have that much old pre war stuff.
- 21:44Everything else was, you know, from your, uh, 50s on up.
- 21:48They had some 40s stuff like that, but basically everything was, I
- 21:51would say, newer, post war stuff.
- 21:54But, man, they had some awesome stuff.
- 21:56They had one of my all time favorite cars, a 500E.
- 22:00I mean, I absolutely love those cars.
- 22:01One of these days, I'm gonna have one of those.
- 22:03I mean, they're just They're getting priced ridiculous.
- 22:05I mean, I should have bought one five, six years ago.
- 22:06They were about 40, 50 grand, because now they're about 80,
- 22:0890 grand, depending on miles.
- 22:10Trying to find one with low miles.
- 22:12I just got offered one.
- 22:13I'd love if I had the money.
- 22:15If I have one, it's got 47, 000 miles on it.
- 22:18It's a 94, so it's an E500.
- 22:21It's the one I want.
- 22:22It's been the last year for it.
- 22:23Anyone that knows what that car is, you know, it's a collaboration
- 22:27with Porsche, um, and Mercedes.
- 22:31It was kind of, you know, you want to have the sports sedan, but it
- 22:33kind of helped out Porsche in a way financially, um, kind of giving that
- 22:38project games, a nice influx of cash, but this, those cars are phenomenal.
- 22:42I mean, they're just great.
- 22:43I mean, talk about a sleeper.
- 22:45I mean, granted back then, but you know, in the mid early nineties,
- 22:49322 horsepower was a lot, especially at a sedan like that from Mercedes.
- 22:53So, I mean, still, but this day to day, 320 horses, it's not nothing to sneeze at.
- 22:57So that car get up and go, but that's a little cruise.
- 23:00At, you know, 90, 100 miles an hour, no sweat.
- 23:03I mean, that thing is a grand, one of these days, I'm going to have one.
- 23:06So, some things come to fruition in the coming months here with
- 23:09some deals I'm working on.
- 23:10I'm buying one, after I get my Ferrari though.
- 23:15I'm on that hunt for that 430 manual.
- 23:16So, anyways.
- 23:18So, but here's the interesting thing though.
- 23:19Going through, they had a nice selection of, you know, obviously awesome cars.
- 23:22They had an awesome, cool selection of motorcycles too.
- 23:25You know, not a lot.
- 23:26I think they had like 15 motorcycles, 20 motorcycles maybe.
- 23:29Um, they had some gorgeous Ducatis.
- 23:32Um, But it's funny because a, a buddy of mine, Paul Jason, uh, he's
- 23:36kind of a big time motorcycle guy, motorcycle broker over in the UK.
- 23:40I actually had taken some photos and sent it to him and he was actually, later,
- 23:44he was actually on the phone bidding and one of the bikes came across and I
- 23:48had sent it to him when it came over.
- 23:49Oh yeah, that was me actually on the phone bidding.
- 23:50I thought that was you.
- 23:51So I was kind of humorous.
- 23:53Here's the interesting thing.
- 23:54I was checking out the estimates, you know, they, they give you a range,
- 23:57you know, if you've ever gone to an auction, you know, they have their
- 24:00estimated range, you know, they have the low end, high end thing and all
- 24:03right, this car will sell between, you know, 250 to 350, 000, you know, they,
- 24:08they kind of put an estimate to it.
- 24:10Um, so people can have a general idea what they think it might be
- 24:13going for, uh, to give them an idea.
- 24:15But here's the crazy thing.
- 24:17I would say not every single auction item, car that went across, you A majority
- 24:25and I mean majority, I'm talking 90%, maybe even a little bit more than that
- 24:29all went for below the low estimate.
- 24:33So I don't know if that's a sign of market adjustment or just what's
- 24:38going on because of the economy.
- 24:40But this is kind of, this is at all the auctions.
- 24:44Now some of them, a couple of them did a little better in regards to,
- 24:48you know, hitting that, you know, high estimate or going above it.
- 24:51But those are for some very special and very unique, very
- 24:54rare cars, very desirable cars.
- 24:56So it's like, hey, that's understandable.
- 24:58But in a majority of these auctions, all these cars were going for below the low
- 25:04estimate and not just by a little bit.
- 25:06A lot of them are pretty significant.
- 25:08There was a, a 355 GTS Brunetta that it had the, uh, their price
- 25:16estimated price range on it was, I think it was 220 to 250.
- 25:20Uh, something like that or 180 to 225, something like that.
- 25:23But anyways, it only had 22, 000 miles or 27, 000 miles, gorgeous
- 25:28silver with this tan interior.
- 25:30You don't see that often, but silver with tan and I, I, I'm not a fan of
- 25:33light colored interior tan, but this thing looks sharp in that color combo.
- 25:37Uh, a six speed manual, 150 grand.
- 25:39So all in, you're about 168, 000 with your fees and everything.
- 25:43That was a steal.
- 25:44And another one at another auction, same thing.
- 25:47It went for around the same price, way below the low estimate.
- 25:50So people were getting deals at the auctions down at Amelia Island.
- 25:55So, I mean, if you had a pocketbook and you had, you know, deep pockets, it was a
- 25:58time to do some buying and to sit on some of these cars, you know, and come back
- 26:03with them, you know, bring them to market, I don't know, a year or two, I don't
- 26:07know, anyways, you know, down the road.
- 26:09I mean, that's one of the situations where, so I had a boatload of money or I
- 26:12had won the lotto or something like that.
- 26:14I was one of that, one of that lucky bastards that won like the billion dollars
- 26:16or whatever and walked in 700 million.
- 26:18God, I would have had a hay day down there this year.
- 26:20I mean, they had some awesome stuff.
- 26:22Um, you know, you had your obligatory, you know, F50s, F40s, um, you know, 280 GTOs.
- 26:28But they had some Bugatti EB110SSs there.
- 26:32They were stunning, absolutely stunning.
- 26:33Um, but they had some just gorgeous, gorgeous stuff and very neat stuff.
- 26:37And then the, um, Broad Arrow had a fantastic, another one of my
- 26:41favorite cars, the RS200 Evolution.
- 26:45Now you get, you know, the standard RS 200, I believe it had 260, 280
- 26:50horsepower, something like that.
- 26:52You know, they had to homologate X amount of cars, but they did 24, 26 Evo cars that
- 26:59were basically the ones they used for the Group B rallying that would have been, but
- 27:03these things pushed out 700 horsepower.
- 27:06This is a tiny little car, and I don't know, maybe if you're Ken Block fans.
- 27:11Uh, he had one that he absolutely loved, you know, I rest his soul.
- 27:16That was such a sad tragedy that he passed.
- 27:18But anyways, uh, that's another one of my all time favorite cars.
- 27:21Uh, another one, an F40.
- 27:23So, um, my goal, kind of as a side note, cause I said I'm trying to
- 27:28get more content, do these podcasts more frequently, but also I'm
- 27:31trying to grow my YouTube channel.
- 27:33Now the YouTube channel, the general one is Garage 65.
- 27:38Now you spell 65 S I X T Y and the number 5.
- 27:42So if you look up at Garage 65, you'll find all my content.
- 27:45Now I do have some of the ones broken down where I'm going to post to it
- 27:48just as Ferrari or just the Porsche Marketplace or the Ferrari Marketplace.
- 27:52Uh, we're trying to expand more, but then again, you know, like what
- 27:54we're doing with our media company.
- 27:57We're going to have these garage tours.
- 27:58We have a lot of things we're going to be doing that are
- 27:59going to be super, super cool.
- 28:02Keep informed keep in tune and hey, you know, we're gonna have a newsletter coming
- 28:05out that you can sign up for it It kind of keeps you up to date what's going on
- 28:08because we're gonna also be doing like events stuff like that So we've got a lot
- 28:11a lot of cool stuff that we're getting in the works here Hopefully by mid and summer
- 28:15we'll start having some of these and then for 2024 We're really kind of start
- 28:19rolling out with a lot of cool stuff.
- 28:21So stay tuned a lot of cool stuff coming But anyways back to the auction
- 28:26Now, like I was saying before, there was some really, really cool stuff.
- 28:30You know, you could have gotten some great deals on some, you know,
- 28:33very, very nice cars, you know, uh, very, very well maintained.
- 28:36Now I am not a big fan of people are buying cars as auction.
- 28:42Cause here's my pet peeve is.
- 28:47You can have all the information you want, you can do your research on
- 28:49the car, you got the VIN, everything like that, but you're basically
- 28:52only getting the description that the auction house is giving you.
- 28:55You can't get in the car, unless you know one of the people and they're very
- 28:59kind and say, oh yeah, go ahead, you can't start it, you can't drive it.
- 29:03So basically you're going on the word of the auction house and the current
- 29:07owner telling the auction house, hey, yeah, the car's great, oh, it's
- 29:11got all the stuff, blah, blah, blah.
- 29:13You know, so you have to really scrutinize the car.
- 29:17As it just sits there, so I mean, the only time you hear it run is when they
- 29:21drive up to the auction block and normally then it's so far away, you can't hear
- 29:24it, so there's no way of knowing, so to me, I don't think it's a great way
- 29:30to go about buying and plus, the other aspect of it is the fees you have to
- 29:34pay, now some years ago, they used to crack you on both sides, the buyer and
- 29:41the seller had to pay fees on top of what it costs to put your car in it.
- 29:45So it was like the buyer, I mean, the seller was having to pay like 10
- 29:4912 percent of whatever the selling price was, then the buyer was
- 29:53paying like 15 to 18 percent fees.
- 29:56So they were cracking basically almost 25 to 30 percent on top of what the selling
- 30:01price was that would go on top of fees.
- 30:03So imagine that.
- 30:04So if you bought a million dollar car, it's for easy numbers, you were having to
- 30:09pay another 250, 000 just in fucking fees.
- 30:14I mean, that is obscene.
- 30:15I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I just don't get it now with the advent because
- 30:19of COVID came around and all these online auction houses came online.
- 30:23Obviously, BAT was the forerunner of this, you know, they broke the barriers.
- 30:28So you have all these other ones that have come out now.
- 30:31But you know, they broke it down to okay, like BAT is 5, 000 maximum.
- 30:36That's what your cap is.
- 30:37And you know, you have to, you know, pay X amount of dollars.
- 30:41I think it's 100 bucks.
- 30:42They might be free now because I know cars and bids.
- 30:45It's free to post what not and if there's is a four and a half percent cap You know
- 30:51the max we pay but the maximum pays 4, 500, but you'll pay up to 4, 500 It's
- 30:56four and a half percent of what the selling price is So Doug DeMuro's put
- 31:00together a great thing over there now But you have so many other ones out there
- 31:03that are following that pattern or that business model is We're only going to cap
- 31:09you at a maximum of four to five grand.
- 31:11That's it And your fees, you know, up to that are, you know, four and a half,
- 31:16five percent, you know, so, hey, 100, 000 car, hey, you're capped 4, 500 bucks.
- 31:22So, I mean, it's fantastic.
- 31:24So, I think these auction houses realize, hey, you know, we're going
- 31:27to have to cut our fees and do it.
- 31:29You know, they're trying to say, oh, it's the atmosphere, oh, this, we have the
- 31:32selection of cars, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 31:34Well, you know what?
- 31:35I don't buy that.
- 31:37You know, that's just not me.
- 31:38I just, I'm not going to pay.
- 31:40An extra, you know, 20, 30, 40, whatever it may be in fees, just
- 31:44because of the ambience, you know, that's your, you put that together.
- 31:47I can go find these cars somewhere else.
- 31:49I don't need to come out and cap it here.
- 31:51No.
- 31:52Now, the one thing is these auctions usually kind of sometimes do is kind
- 31:55of set market rates and everything.
- 31:58You'll have clients and deal with them.
- 31:59They'll be like, well, that car just sold for X at, um, Amelia at a, at XYZ auction.
- 32:04And, um, and why are you asking so much more?
- 32:07Well, it's like, okay, well that car there, which wasn't disclosed, what
- 32:10not, had been an accident or what not.
- 32:11You know, again, not knowing the whole story.
- 32:14And this is an uneducated consumer, not doing their homework and
- 32:17not, you know, believing in what something is and not just listening.
- 32:20They just talk.
- 32:22You know, they don't know the full story behind what that car, why it's sold for,
- 32:26what it's sold for, why you're selling your car, what it's for, you know, so
- 32:30it's just, it's sometimes like pulling teeth and these people just don't get
- 32:33it, you know, so it can be really, really fricking annoying sometimes with, it's
- 32:37an uneducated consumer and You know, it's just, it's just very, very annoying.
- 32:42But anyways, back to the options.
- 32:44So, as I stated, there's a lot of these cars, a good portion of these
- 32:47cars, we're going for below estimates.
- 32:49So, I mean, again, it was some really nice stuff and it was
- 32:52just kind of a head scratcher.
- 32:53I said, man, some people are getting some great deals and we're
- 32:55going home with some great cars.
- 32:56And that was the thing is, normally when you have your low estimates
- 32:59and that stuff, that's usually about where the reserves at.
- 33:02So these reserves that these owners had in these cars were very, very low.
- 33:07Because these cars were selling.
- 33:08They were hammered.
- 33:09And which was absolutely crazy.
- 33:11That was the other baffling thing was they had super low reserves on these cars.
- 33:16Normally, you know, the reserves up there by the low estimate.
- 33:18So if it's not even getting a little less, but I had a car ain't
- 33:20moving, but people didn't either.
- 33:22They needed them cast.
- 33:24They needed the room.
- 33:24They don't want to take the car back home or what, but these cars were selling.
- 33:28So the transport companies were having a heyday.
- 33:30That's for sure.
- 33:31So, and there's another one that make out either way.
- 33:33Cause Hey, the car didn't sell.
- 33:34They got to take it back home.
- 33:35Hey, they're double dipping.
- 33:37So, but I mean, if you've never been to Amelia, I highly suggest you go.
- 33:41The auctions are really, really cool.
- 33:42Yeah, it costs a little bit to get in, but it's really neat because
- 33:44you kind of get up close to the car.
- 33:46Now, let's talk about the concourse itself.
- 33:50Now, on Friday, they had the Porsche Works Reunion.
- 33:54It's a Porsche event, you know, and this year is the 75 years of 9 11, so kind of
- 33:57last year was Ferrari's total 75 years.
- 34:01You know, um, the 9 11 was 75 years of, however it is, anyways, of course, I don't
- 34:07know, anyways, it wasn't their anniversary years, I could be mistaken, I don't know,
- 34:10anyways, this is onward and upward, right, but anyways, so it was kind of cool, not
- 34:16very big, but it seemed to be there was more, better action over in the car park
- 34:21where people were parking, you know, all the Porsches were, you know, all the
- 34:23Porsche Club members were parking than actual cars that were out on the lawn.
- 34:27They had some neat stuff, you know, uh, very interesting stuff, and luckily, we
- 34:31were able to get in for free, cause, you The event is free to get in but it's 40
- 34:36to park so there you go So it's it's kind of a joke like so basically it's 40 to
- 34:41get in But anyways, we were able to snag a free parking to get him for free as a
- 34:45volunteer So it pays to know people right?
- 34:48So we got in checked out.
- 34:49There's some really cool stuff there.
- 34:51Obviously all Porsches Some really neat stuff some cool booths set up,
- 34:55you know for buying some I guess trinkets and memorabilia and stuff
- 34:58like that They had a really cool one.
- 35:00We could buy that scale models, you know from Here's the real small stuff
- 35:05all the way up to some bigger stuff, uh, which is really, really neat.
- 35:08Then Saturday, uh, they put on and if you buy your ticket for Sunday, it
- 35:14gets you into Saturday's event also.
- 35:16So you might as well just buy it because if you go on Sunday, buy it.
- 35:18So, but Sunday's tickets, it's 175 and it's gone up dramatically in price,
- 35:23especially since Harry took it over because now they're about making money.
- 35:26Now, when Bill Warner was running that, It wasn't about, I mean, yeah, they needed
- 35:29to make money cause, but it was more about making the money to put the donations
- 35:32to the charities they were supporting.
- 35:34So they're, they dumped a lot back in and I've had some great
- 35:37conversations with Bill and uh, he always tells me you're nuts.
- 35:40If you ever want to put that kind of course, I'll pay him the ass.
- 35:43But I, he had told me, I mean, it was like eight, nine years before
- 35:46he even could like kind of pay himself anything out of it for all
- 35:49his work and effort and doing it.
- 35:51So, I mean, it took a long time.
- 35:52They started that, what, 95, I think it was 96, something
- 35:55like that in the mid nineties.
- 35:56So it really has been going on.
- 35:58All that long, I guess you could say I compared to Pebble and stuff like that.
- 36:02But anyways, so Saturday they have the Radwood event, which is, as everyone
- 36:07probably knows, is, you know, your 80's cars, uh, from my genre, when
- 36:11I, you know, was in my youth driving my cars, you know, when I was 16 in
- 36:151986, you know, I had my Fiero GT.
- 36:18Well, I started with the Mazda GLC, then I went to a Fiero GT, I love
- 36:22that Fiero, I think it was so cool.
- 36:23Then I had a Mustang GT, so, um.
- 36:26I connect well with that stuff.
- 36:27They have some really cool stuff.
- 36:29It's stuff that you know back from your youth that you see that kind of stirs up
- 36:32old memories and everything like that.
- 36:34So they have that set up and then you go over to the actual show field
- 36:39where the concourse takes place.
- 36:40You know, that's where they have a lot of the, I guess you'd say, nicer
- 36:43stuff for the Radwood type stuff.
- 36:44But they have other things set up that are, you know,
- 36:48oriented towards that genre.
- 36:50Uh, they call it Cars and Community.
- 36:52So it's kind of bring whatever, you know, what you drove and, and I,
- 36:57I'm not sure how you register that, but you, you come in, you know,
- 37:00you park your car, check it out.
- 37:01So it's not no judge or anything goes down, but just walk around.
- 37:04And there's a lot of people for that because obviously if you're going
- 37:07Sunday, you're going to that Saturday because your ticket got you in.
- 37:09But now if you just want to go Saturday, which actually is not too bad.
- 37:13You just go Saturday because you, you can see a lot of stuff that, you
- 37:17know, they really don't have to worry about seeing on Sunday, but anyway,
- 37:19it's only 35 going on Saturday.
- 37:21So if you just go Saturday.
- 37:23You're fine.
- 37:23You don't really need to go on Sunday.
- 37:24It's all, you know, all personal preference.
- 37:27But, uh, they had some really cool stuff up, you know, which was neat.
- 37:30You know, they had, um, the cars from Jeff Gordon set up.
- 37:33Um, you know, Ed Bullen was there with his stuff.
- 37:36And, uh, the guys, you know, Tavarish was there.
- 37:38Uh, so was, uh, Mr.
- 37:40Tyler Hoover was there.
- 37:41You know, they had brought some stuff.
- 37:43Uh, what was really cool back over in the one corner they had, on Saturday
- 37:46they had five 9 5 9's lined up because it was kind of a separate class.
- 37:50Now Sunday they had seven 9 5 9's parked there, which That's a rare day itself,
- 37:54seeing 7959s parked all over the place.
- 37:58Now then you go around, you know, um, Saturday.
- 38:01Again, a lot of cool stuff, a lot of neat booths set up.
- 38:03You know, it's a lot more casual.
- 38:04You know, t shirts, shorts, kind of thing.
- 38:06Now Sunday, obviously, is the Concourse event itself.
- 38:09Now that's when it gets really packed.
- 38:11Um, and obviously you kind of want to dress nice.
- 38:13And now it gets pretty warm, so you kind of got to dress.
- 38:16But like, I just wore a short t shirt, but I wore some nice pants.
- 38:18You know, got to, got to look to roll.
- 38:20Uh, got to meet Jeff Gordon, which was really cool.
- 38:22Talked to him, you know, uh, briefly.
- 38:24Brought up our Freerback project.
- 38:26Uh, talk to him real quick.
- 38:27Super nice guy.
- 38:28Super nice guy.
- 38:29Very approachable.
- 38:29So if you ever get the opportunity, he'll chat you up.
- 38:31He's a super cool guy.
- 38:33Um, so anyways, go into there, you know, you check out.
- 38:36This is now where they have the judging goes on.
- 38:38They have all the, you know, classes broken down in regards to what cars
- 38:42are which group, everything like that.
- 38:43So they get all judged by their class, you know, their car
- 38:46itself, but then in that class.
- 38:47Um, gorgeous Ferraris.
- 38:49Oh my god, they have some gorgeous, gorgeous Ferraris.
- 38:52Um, some really cool stuff and they had some old, old stuff.
- 38:56There was a 59 Pininfarina, uh, Cabriolet.
- 38:59Uh, there was a 195 Inter or was it a 212 MM?
- 39:04Um, I'm trying to remember off the top of my head.
- 39:06Check out my videos on YouTube channel, Grab65.
- 39:09You'll see all the stuff in there.
- 39:10Um, they had some gorgeous, gorgeous Ferraris set up.
- 39:13Um, absolute outstanding.
- 39:15They had, you know, Porsche had a really nice set up with a lot of their cars.
- 39:18They had a lot of cool Porsche race cars, uh, going across the years.
- 39:22So it's a really, and again, what's nice is you can get right up on these cars.
- 39:26These things aren't like behind velvet ropes or anything like that.
- 39:29You know, check.
- 39:30It's really, really cool.
- 39:31So, but I mean, you get there, you know, does it pay, you
- 39:36know, they have an early entry.
- 39:37It starts at 930, but you can get in for an extra 50 bucks,
- 39:41get in at 830 early entry.
- 39:43They limit it.
- 39:43But if you see how many people do the early entry, I don't even know it's worth
- 39:47it because it's pretty busy as it is then.
- 39:49So, but anyway, I didn't do it.
- 39:51I would have read nine 30, but.
- 39:53I need to drive back Atlanta.
- 39:54So I put it down to the right one o'clock.
- 39:56I was leaving and I'll honestly from 9 30 to about noon, 12 30.
- 40:01I I've seen everything.
- 40:02I walked around, checked out what I think, did all my videos, talked
- 40:05to, I needed to talk to, you know, and you know, got everything done.
- 40:08So, I mean, the judging and stuff like doesn't have until later in the afternoon.
- 40:12So, I mean, it goes late into the day.
- 40:14So, I mean, it can be for a long day, you know, but Hey, we're staying there.
- 40:16God bless you.
- 40:18I had to get back to Atlanta because I had an early, early flight,
- 40:21uh, in the morning on Monday.
- 40:23So, I needed to get to the airport early, uh, and thank God I did
- 40:26because TSA was an absolute nightmare.
- 40:29It took me over an hour to go through TSA, and luckily I got there early, got
- 40:32an early flight, and got home in time.
- 40:34But anyways, so, but the big thing is, like I was kind of talking about,
- 40:37you know, this is the second year that Hagerty has owned the event.
- 40:40Now, last year going, you know, you kind of see a big difference
- 40:43in regards to the quality of cars, the amount of cars they had there.
- 40:46And again, this year too.
- 40:48They don't seem to get the amount of cars that Bill was getting.
- 40:53Because here's the thing, Bill Warner did not charge you to
- 40:56have your car in the event.
- 40:58Didn't charge you.
- 40:59Haggard is charging you to bring your car and have it in the event.
- 41:03So, there's a big change there, so that's why a lot of people said screw that.
- 41:06And, and it ain't, it ain't cheap.
- 41:07I'm not exactly sure, but, normal concourse, you're talking 150, 200 bucks.
- 41:11I think they charge five to six hundred dollars, maybe something like that.
- 41:13And I could be wrong, so if I am wrong, shoot me an email, correct me, you
- 41:16know, I haven't really looked into it.
- 41:18But it ain't cheap.
- 41:19So they're charging people down to have their cars in the show.
- 41:22So there's a big change right there So but you notice the big difference is there's
- 41:27a lot less cars there and I won't say by half But pretty close to half the amount
- 41:31of cars that um now the qualities there.
- 41:35That's for sure I mean, there's no doubt about that but it's just you don't have
- 41:39the same amount of cars as you go around look and You know, again, they're,
- 41:43they're, they get kind of heavy with the pre war stuff, and those cars were
- 41:47absolutely gorgeous, don't get me wrong, the craftsmanship and watching what the
- 41:50hell those things, I mean, absolutely beautiful cars, brilliant craftsmanship,
- 41:54you know, you get up and look at these cars, I mean, it's unbelievable what they
- 41:57did back then with just hand tools, doing everything by hand, you know, they didn't
- 42:02have, you know, all this stuff that they have this day and age, everything was done
- 42:05by hand, so absolutely stunning stuff.
- 42:08So, but I mean it's getting there.
- 42:10It's going to take them some time, you know, a few more years I think they'll
- 42:12get in the groove But I think they're gonna have to tweak a few things to
- 42:16bring back the amount of quality and quality of cars They got some work to do.
- 42:22But hey, you know, they're getting you know, they're doing all right
- 42:24They you know, they've acquired a few other events around the country.
- 42:26So they're getting a lot of practice.
- 42:28That's for sure So but anyways, the one other thing I did not mention I
- 42:33forgot to mention because Saturday morning we were gonna go early, but it
- 42:37was raining So we said, well, we were going to go to the Brumos collection.
- 42:41So we did that first and said, now, if you're ever in Jacksonville,
- 42:44I highly recommend, go to the Brumos collection and check it out.
- 42:48Absolutely phenomenal facility.
- 42:52Dan Davis, the owner, he, you know, he owned Brumos Porsche in the dealership.
- 42:55He sold them a few years back.
- 42:57He kept the Brumos name.
- 42:59He kept all the vintage race cars and all that, and stuff like that.
- 43:01He has a lot of them.
- 43:03Uh, so he built this gorgeous facility.
- 43:06And, uh, it's kind of They took off a reminiscent of the Ford
- 43:10plant that was in Jacksonville.
- 43:11Super cool.
- 43:12Exposed brick.
- 43:13It's a gorgeous facility.
- 43:14If you're in Jacksonville, please go.
- 43:17In a lot, a good two to three hours to go through it.
- 43:20Super nice people to walk you around with.
- 43:21Kind of go over everything, but nice interactive displays.
- 43:25I mean, it's super cool.
- 43:26Definitely, definitely go to the Brunel's Collection when
- 43:29you're down in Jacksonville.
- 43:31Anyways, that's a wrap it up.
- 43:33I know this was kind of a thing about talking about everything.
- 43:35Seemed to kind of, you know, talk about some Porsche, talk about
- 43:37some Ferrari, stuff like that.
- 43:38But this is more about, hey, just what I did over in the meal guy weekend.
- 43:41Talk a little bit about the auctions, uh, and that kind of stuff.
- 43:44So, you know, kind of a mismatch.
- 43:46Hey, this is kind of actually one of the longest episodes I've done.
- 43:49I wasn't sure I was going to even get 10 minutes out of this, but look at that.
- 43:51It's almost 45 minutes long.
- 43:53Hey, so if you got stuck in traffic, this is a good one to listen to, right?
- 43:56But anyways.
- 43:57Again, I really appreciate everybody listening and doing the downloads.
- 44:01Um, you know, we're getting up there, we're creeping up there.
- 44:03You know, um, we're getting there.
- 44:05So I really, really appreciate it.
- 44:06So spread the word, put it out there.
- 44:08Again, check out the websites.
- 44:10TheFerrariMarketplace.
- 44:11com, ExoticCarMarketplace.
- 44:12com We've got a lot of new content coming.

- 44:16So, um, sign up.
- 44:18I can't sign you up for the newsletter, but it's coming.
- 44:20So once we get that kind of up and going, just keep an eye on it.
- 44:24Check out the YouTube channel, uh, Garage 65.
- 44:27Very simple because it kind of just covers everything.
- 44:29Now I got the subset ones for the Ferrari Marketplace, the Porsche Marketplace.
- 44:32Where those will be, you know, brand specific.
- 44:36I can get that out.
- 44:37But Garage 65, we're going to do a lot of cool stuff.
- 44:39I want to go check out museums.
- 44:41We're going to check out fabricators.
- 44:43check out a bunch of stuff and just have some fun with it.
- 44:45And here's our goal with all this.
- 44:48Now we're going to acquire cars and whatnot to drive and have some fun with.
- 44:51Go to Cars Coffee and kind of do, have those interact with it.
- 44:54But and also what we're going to do is to help support.
- 44:57I'm a big advocate for Make A Wish I'm a wish granted Make A Wish
- 45:00and also a huge animal advocate.
- 45:02I volunteered a few animal shelters So we're going to try and coordinate and
- 45:06help do we can with the cars to help these, you know May help Make A Wish help
- 45:11these children, you know, get what they want help them out But also help these
- 45:13animal shelters and find these, you know, these beautiful animals are forever home
- 45:17So we're gonna try and make this, you know beneficial to everybody involved.
- 45:21So try and raise money, but Our big goal, we want to buy an F40, because
- 45:27what we want to do with this F40 is we're going to drive it, we're
- 45:29going to drive the shit out of it.
- 45:31We're going to take people for drives, we're going to go all over the place,
- 45:33we're going to take these kids from Make A Wish, take them for rides.
- 45:36So we're going to do a lot with this car, so if you can, please like and
- 45:40subscribe, pass this around, because the more we can get, we can generate
- 45:43the revenue, we can get up there, we can get this F40, and go and have a lot
- 45:46of fun with it, and just have everyone else enjoy it, and do everything we can
- 45:51to not only Help these kids, you know, have some fun with it or, you know, uh,
- 45:54go into probably, you know, the worst times of their lives, you know, battling
- 45:58these diseases they have, but also help raise money for these animal shelters
- 46:02and find these animals are new forever.
- 46:05Again, I really, really appreciate everybody listening.
