Transcript
- 0:00Hi everyone. As you may have noticed, it's
- 0:01Monday. It's not a Thursday, it's not a
- 0:03usual podcast day for the More Carbs podcast, but you get a
- 0:06bonus episode this Monday, which is super exciting.
- 0:09So I am joined by Riley and Lily today for a very exciting
- 0:12announcement. We are so excited.
- 0:14We have been working on something for the last couple of
- 0:17months and we are so excited to share it with you in today's
- 0:21little bonus episode. Yeah, we're so excited to share
- 0:24this with you. It's been in the works, like
- 0:25Riley said, for a really long time, and I think it's just
- 0:29going to be the best step forward ever.
- 0:31So, Riley, do you want to tell us more about it?
- 0:33Yeah, so if y'all have been with us from the beginning, we have
- 0:37been doing eat more carbs since what, 2022?
- 0:40I think that's when you came on Jenna as a Co host and then
- 0:43before that Riley Beatty Sports Nutrition has been around since
- 0:47May of 2020. I first started the company when
- 0:50I was in college athletics. I thought I was going to lose my
- 0:52job. I was at UCLA at the time, you
- 0:54know kind of coming up with this business, building this
- 0:56business. I really found that my passion
- 0:59laid and like the entrepreneur renewal space and then
- 1:01specifically helping like female athletes and just athletes who
- 1:04are under fueled. I found that there was not a lot
- 1:06of resources out there for athletes who just weren't eating
- 1:09enough and were under fueled. And so many of these athletes
- 1:11were trying to do the right thing.
- 1:13They were trying to eat healthy. They were trying to have good
- 1:16nutritional habits to get better at sport and it was actually
- 1:19holding them back. This is something that I
- 1:21experienced as a college athlete Once Upon a time.
- 1:23And then you know, kind of jumping into the Dietetic space
- 1:26and becoming a professional, I was able to kind of take a step
- 1:30back and see how it hadn't just really affected me, but it was
- 1:33affecting so many different athletes.
- 1:35So I went full time in private practice with Riley Buddy Sports
- 1:38Nutrition in October of 2021, which is crazy that it's going
- 1:41to be 5 years in a couple of months.
- 1:44Over the past five years we've had a lot of changes with the
- 1:47business done and it came on full time in August of
- 1:5120/23/2022. Oh my gosh, was it 2023?
- 1:54Yes, because it'll be 3 years this August.
- 1:56Yeah, yes, and done. And I did our Dietetic
- 1:59internship together Once Upon a time.
- 2:01You know, she was the first person I had to hire to the
- 2:03company. We spent way too long in a
- 2:05closet together, which might come off kind of weird, but you
- 2:09know, we spent so many hours in a hospital and so many hours
- 2:12were spent like daydreaming of building like a private practice
- 2:15together. So she was obviously the first
- 2:17person that I had to bring on. And then Lily has been with us
- 2:19for so long, started off as an intern and then Foley came on as
- 2:23our third full time employee in September of last year, which is
- 2:28crazy. And through all the growth and
- 2:29development that we have had and all the connections that we have
- 2:32had with Y'all, we really decided that we were going to
- 2:34take Riley Baby Sports Nutrition in a different direction for
- 2:382026. So Riley Baby Sports Nutrition
- 2:41or RBSN is now Steady State Performance Nutrition and you
- 2:46are looking right now at Team Steady State.
- 2:49So we're super excited. We feel like this new brand and
- 2:52this new company that we're building really displays the
- 2:56fueling approach that we have as a team, right?
- 2:59Steady state nutrition is all about longevity and building a
- 3:03really strong feeling foundation that you can take with you for
- 3:06an extended period of time. So we have our period recovery
- 3:08program where we're building longevity and sustainable habits
- 3:11to get your period back to both optimize your health and
- 3:15maximize your performance. So we have that.
- 3:17We have some new changes, some new offers that we have for the
- 3:20period recovery program coming very, very soon.
- 3:23And then we also have our concierge nutrition services
- 3:26where we will support teens and athletes and for more general
- 3:30sports nutrition perspective. I am so incredibly proud to be a
- 3:33part of this team who has worked so hard to make sure that
- 3:36everything that we do from a change perspective is to better
- 3:39serve the athletes that we work with.
- 3:41Yeah. I think that this change is
- 3:42definitely in the right direction and it really focuses
- 3:45on athletes as a whole person and kind of that holistic
- 3:49approach to things like period recovery and sports nutrition
- 3:52that we always have done at Riley Beauty Sports Nutrition.
- 3:55But now with the Steady State rebrand, I really think that
- 3:59that name really encompasses what we're trying to do with our
- 4:01athletes. So y'all will continue to see
- 4:03some updates. If you are watching video or you
- 4:06have this up on your phone, you are seeing a new logo for eat
- 4:09more carbs, you're going to see new branding, you're going to
- 4:12see a new website and a new and improved period recovery
- 4:14program. But.
- 4:15We will still be here every Thursday as your Eat More Carbs
- 4:18podcast talking about sports nutrition for the girlies.
- 4:21As always, if you have any questions about this let us
- 4:24know. Otherwise we can't wait for you
- 4:25guys to see all of the new branding.
- 4:27Check out the new website which we will link everything in the
- 4:29podcast show notes for you guys. We're so excited to share this
- 4:32with all of you.
