- 0:36Speaker 1: First thoughts of the game are.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The game is always fun.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It is, it is, is it not, it is a fun game.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's nerve wrecking game.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I don't really.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Sometimes I don't it's the Super Bowl, it's the Super Bowl it's the Super Bowl.
- 0:58Speaker 2: As an FSU or Miami hardcore fan, we get a Super Bowl Right Every year because we get FSU versus Miami and this game delivered yet again.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it did it always does.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It did.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It did.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It was a.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It was hard.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I've got multiple complaints and all kinds of crap about this game Let it rip man.
- 1:26Speaker 2: But the game was super enjoyable.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I love this game.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I love this game every year, and you know, even though I don't believe you so you would rather have this game than Miami blow for state out, but that's what you said, um.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I enjoyed this game more than I enjoyed the 52 to 10 Miami win a handful of years ago.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I enjoyed this game more.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Well, it was a hard fought game, man.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It was a hard fight.
- 1:57Speaker 1: It was a total Total yards yeah, total yards.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Can I deport?
- 2:02Speaker 2: Can I deport Cristobal?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Ah, I don't know if it's because I.
- 2:07Speaker 1: What did you not like about his?
- 2:10Speaker 1: I am.
- 2:10Speaker 2: John with every, every single aspect of this coaching staff.
- 2:16Speaker 1: What about it that you?
- 2:17Speaker 2: didn't like.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Man Um Cristobal called a lot of times where he did not call timeouts at the end of the first half.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah, almost like you can roll those timeouts.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Oh wait, no you can't, it's not well, you can't, you can't roll them over, you can't roll those minutes over.
- 2:46Speaker 2: He doesn't know.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Well, florida State was able to come out with the victory.
- 2:52Speaker 1: There was a touch they were up by two scores.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Then a big play by Miami in the passing game, in a really terrible angle by Kevin Knowles the safety just just completed a dime.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I mean it was a great throw.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But it was a great throw, but it was.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It was a definitely missed.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It was more of a worst angle.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean then he dove out of the way.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's like what are you doing?
- 3:15Speaker 1: You're the defender, you go break it up, but that changed the game.
- 3:20Speaker 2: It started.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that made it a close game and it came down to the last possession.
- 3:25Speaker 1: The um, emery Williams, extended the drive with a fourth and two was hurt on the play.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Um, then it's a TVD entered the game and the Disney moment where he could lead the team down.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, tvd, all over the place with an intercept.
- 3:44Speaker 2: TVD everywhere, man.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, it was like two girls one cup with DVD.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Well, um, but you know, you kind of thought it, you knew it was going to be like this.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Just throw out the records and you know, if you look at it, miami gave it loss away earlier and so if you six and three could should be seven and two, you know, and that's not terrible.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And they came to play today, they did, they came to play on the lot, they came to play up front.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Uh, they completely dominated the second quarter.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But in the total yards department it was a 335.
- 4:20Speaker 1: They outgained the Seminoles 335 to 322, um with 130 lines of scrimmage.
- 4:28Speaker 2: The biggest.
- 4:28Speaker 2: The biggest thing I noticed was Miami was way better on the lines of scrimmage.
- 4:35Speaker 1: They seemed to have an advantage there at times in the game, but that other times in the game yes, but they were also well blocked.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The playmakers dude like I.
- 4:45Speaker 2: All of Cray Benson's big plays started with Miami shutting him down in the backfield and him breaking like three or four tackles and then popping it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you don't have the state has the playmakers.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Florida state has the playmakers that Miami doesn't have.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I wouldn't.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yes, yes, miami has to they had to do that.
- 5:08Speaker 2: They had to play that style at home.
- 5:10Speaker 1: They had to play that style of game.
- 5:12Speaker 1: They had a freshman quarterback.
- 5:14Speaker 2: That's the difference between the two teams.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Florida state has the playmaker.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Well you can see, miami doesn't have well, you could see the difference that those two receivers are in Florida state they take, then that's what you need.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You got to have that.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Those guys in today's game, you got championship aspirations without both of those guys and Johnny Wilson was there in the first half.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Like I said, johnny Wilson, pissed me off so much he had a couple of drops the streper had a few drops, but there was the, the defense the defense, the defenses came to play.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Both teams struggled on third down.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Both teams were inefficient.
- 5:54Speaker 1: On third down, Miami four to 16.
- 5:56Speaker 1: On third down Florida state.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It felt like a nineties.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It felt like a nineties football game.
- 6:01Speaker 1: It did it.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Four 13 on third down Miami, one or two on third down Florida state.
- 6:06Speaker 1: What did not attempt a third down?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Fourth down?
- 6:10Speaker 1: A question will call.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Maybe going for the onsite, and I didn't agree with it at the time.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Well executed onside, good play by the Miami guy getting up there and getting it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I don't like the call in a tie game.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I am with the.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I mean at home you don't.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And Miami ended up just getting.
- 6:28Speaker 1: They had to get just one first down and then the guy with the big leg was able to get the field goal.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Gave him three points.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Boreg Alice is one hell of a character.
- 6:36Speaker 1: And I hate he is, he is and I hate talking about officiating.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I hate, I hate it.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I hate it but the officiating was.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It sucks, it was one of the worst.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I will say this shot out One of my.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I loved I could.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's why I enjoy Sean McDonough when he's broadcasting games.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I wasn't able to be able to game today, because he called it out.
- 6:58Speaker 1: He does.
- 6:58Speaker 1: He's very dry about it, but him and also at at halftime, Greg McElroy.
- 7:06Speaker 2: well, half town breakdown broke it down, he was there.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah what they was running, yet it was a safety.
- 7:12Speaker 1: There's no argument there and like that's what replays for and they Sean McDonough was saying that they went over there and they they requested to have an explanation from the replay booth as to why it was a safety and why did they maintain the call in the field.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And the replay booth responded that they were going to come over there and visit them in the booth to talk about it.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But they didn't.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And then later in the game, the same thing.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Well, there was another Play where there wasn't a flag thrown in, but it looked to me like a clear, targeting call.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Regardless, the replay booth in particular had two, I think, easy layup type of calls and just and when you have the broadcast booth resending requests as to why, like wanting explanations.
- 8:01Speaker 2: That's inexcusable.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is, it's like when you got the drunk guy at the couch, like telling you what's going on.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I mean it's, it's aggravating.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I mean, dude, I was fricking nine beers in, nine beers in man, that safety, and I was one eye in it and I'm like, all right, well, if I'm one eye in it and I mean he is way behind the Goal line, that's clearly a safety.
- 8:28Speaker 2: And then in the third quarter, that other awful call that went in Miami's benefit.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, like I'm not that smart, I'm not the smartest guy in the world, and even I can see this stuff.
- 8:48Speaker 2: The the the, the officiating and the FSU Miami game was an absolute dumpster fire.
- 8:56Speaker 2: It's not what cost Miami the game and Also that game was fun as hell, hmm.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, it was a fun game.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It was a fun game.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Keon Coleman made his impact on.
- 9:12Speaker 1: The game was shut out in the first half, but he had a big punt return and then he had all that pump return, was sick.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he had the big touchdown catch contested in the end zone.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that was fun.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Return.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Was sick that he had.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Emory Williams on the day.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Eight of 23, 175 yards to touchdowns.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Gutsy performance from the north Florida Kid from Milton Florida.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Milton, baby, yeah, tvd came in.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Grays to an interception on the ground.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Cheney 12 carries, 85 yards.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Fletcher had 16 carries, 47 yards.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So they were able to do a little bit, but the big guy, the big star, was Jacobi George five catches, 153 yards and two touchdowns.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That's.
- 10:04Speaker 1: And then Kobe young had two for 29.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And I don't see Underutilized, I don't even see, not one.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Not one.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Catch by Restrepo not one.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Well, he had at least three drops.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yeah but, that was, that's that's I Mean it on a guy.
- 10:27Speaker 2: You keep dropping the ball.
- 10:29Speaker 2: If you keep dropping the ball, I'm not gonna feed it to you anymore.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and all Restrepo did was drop from the first, from the first third down in the game.
- 10:39Speaker 1: The new quarterback, obviously, but that was a, that was a that's big.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Kobe young was underutilized.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he got going at the at the end of a.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Little bit, but yeah.
- 10:53Speaker 1: He's a big guy.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Sometimes you just got to keep throwing the ball.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Green for Florida States been playing well you know, all season Florida State there was a, there was a, miami had a drive in the second quarter and they were tough on the ground.
- 11:10Speaker 1: But I thought both defenses played really hard and kind of you know other than some big Like an old-school game yeah.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I think that there was.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It was hard to officiate this game.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Clearly there was miss calls all over the field.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I can't.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I would have loved to watch this game, like on HBO or something where you could hear all the talking.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You would have had like ear muff.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I feel like feel like both defenses controlled this game.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, which is?
- 11:40Speaker 2: a fun, which is a fun thing that we don't get to see?
- 11:44Speaker 1: yeah, yeah, it is, that's two games in a row.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Floor state has not scored 30 points after it wasn't.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It wasn't bad, offense it was good defense yeah.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Well, and that's what's fun.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's six and four for Miami, 10 and 0 for the Knowles.
- 12:02Speaker 1: They have North Alabama next week and then the gay Congratulations.
- 12:07Speaker 2: you talk suckers, yeah big way the gators beat the gators, we'll get back.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It's always it's always tougher in the series, for the home team Seems like beat the gators.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Oh, I have to say for you, for you know, fans, that's gonna be a battle gators battle in the swamp and we're gonna look forward to that game coming up.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I've got your back.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I've got your back.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I know gators beat the gators, but uh.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Miami.
- 12:33Speaker 1: They'll finish the season in a in the ACC play.
- 12:38Speaker 2: We'll finish this season in the in the Recycling Ben.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I mean well, I'll play the ball, though it's football, it's basketball.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Louisville.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Nigel pack, you got baby.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we had they open her floor state with the big opening night win man.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I love me some Leonard Hamilton and some FSU hoops.
- 13:00Speaker 1: We're gonna definitely talk a bunch about basketball.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Hey all y'all get ready for my.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Well, justin man, I appreciate you coming on.

- 13:39Speaker 1: Well, we got to get on out of here.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I think that's the rivalry week.
- 13:49Speaker 1: The nose three in a row.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Jordan Travis comes.
- 13:55Speaker 1: The only quarterback in official history to beat Miami three straight years Just adds on to that legacy.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You know the Keon Coleman was shut down at the end of first half.
- 14:17Speaker 1: He had no catches but he made his impact in this game.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Touchdown in the huge fun return.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But what was Knowles doing on that safety play given up that touchdown of George?
- 14:31Speaker 1: What I found Was a good throw, but man the same.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It could have been interception or an incomplete.
- 14:38Speaker 1: You're taking the correct angle on that play.
- 14:42Speaker 1: That was really bad.
- 14:43Speaker 1: We're going to get Jimmy Reno.
- 14:47Speaker 1: We're gonna ask him.
- 14:48Speaker 1: We got a football Monday coming up next week.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I've got a bunch of NFL games to watch.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I Don't really have a shot of the Latin jug.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I think I'm out of contention, but I'll still Play it out.
- 15:02Speaker 1: That's always fun.
- 15:05Speaker 1: We got a lot more.
- 15:07Speaker 1: We're gonna look back at this game again.
- 15:08Speaker 1: It was a rivalry game in ugly, defensive, dominated game.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But Johnny Wilson had a few drops, but he was there in the first half.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Keon Coleman showed up in the second half and you need those guys to win these big games and the man that ACC officials.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Just some terrible calls on both sides.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Non-calls there was a non call against Legal contact on Keon Coleman.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You can call it pass interference if you will, but that would have Prevented a big play down the field Completely.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Grab his jersey, mad me.
- 15:50Speaker 1: It missed that.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I think Jordan Travis clearly had a safety on that play and then that was clear target.
- 15:58Speaker 1: But they just dropped the ball all night long and nothing's.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Sean McGunn is still waiting for an explanation, but we're gonna watch.
- 16:05Speaker 1: We'll watch it again and we're gonna react to all the games coming up this Monday and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida sports network.
