- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, I got a lot to get to today. We'll
- 0:10Speaker 2: get to President Trump Iran, We'll get to Jerome Powell.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We'll get to Minnesota. We'll get to uh, we'll get
- 0:16Speaker 2: to Bruce Blakeman big inauguration yesterday for his second term.
- 0:20Speaker 2: We'll get to a mom Donnie Hokeel and a whole
- 0:23Speaker 2: lot more coming up. So, hey, I just declared this
- 0:27Speaker 2: Jerome Powell thing. Powell, he's the one that announced it.
- 0:32Speaker 2: He's the one that held the press conference that the
- 0:34Speaker 2: Trumpetminster is trying to indict him, and it's clearly law
- 0:39Speaker 2: fair and that sort of stuff. Well, uh, Trump adminstrass
- 0:44Speaker 2: not making clear nobody was indicting him. The Justice Department
- 0:48Speaker 2: had been asking him for information about what could possibly
- 0:52Speaker 2: be a crime or just gross negligence. You know, they
- 0:56Speaker 2: were rebuilding the FED building should cost about eight hundred thousand.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Instead they spent like three billion where they held it.
- 1:04Speaker 2: All that money go Justice Department. And he testified it
- 1:07Speaker 2: in front of Congress about it. But there were questions
- 1:10Speaker 2: brought up by his testimony. So the Justice Department sending
- 1:13Speaker 2: him letters asking him for clarification, asking him for information
- 1:17Speaker 2: and he refused to respond. He never responded to anything.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So finally they sent something that said, you know, you
- 1:24Speaker 2: have to respond to us. You can't just not answer,
- 1:27Speaker 2: otherwise we'd have to seek some legal remedy. That's all
- 1:30Speaker 2: they said. And then I guess he decided to get
- 1:33Speaker 2: ahead of it. And he's the one that held a
- 1:35Speaker 2: big press conference over the weekend announcing the Justice Department
- 1:38Speaker 2: is trying to indict him, and it's law fare, and
- 1:41Speaker 2: it's unusual for Powell to hold any kind of press
- 1:44Speaker 2: conference like that, But he got all dressed up and
- 1:46Speaker 2: put on his best classes and held this press conference.
- 1:49Speaker 2: He was trying to get ahead of the whole thing.
- 1:51Speaker 2: If you're trying to get ahead of it, that implies
- 1:54Speaker 2: you think it could be a problem. But apparently the
- 1:57Speaker 2: Justice Department making clear nobody was in nobody was doing it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: They were simply trying to get him to answer the
- 2:03Speaker 2: questions they had about the over spending on the building.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Here's Powell, the threat of criminal charges is a consequence
- 2:11Speaker 1: of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our
- 2:14Speaker 1: best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than
- 2:17Speaker 1: following the preferences of the president.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, now, there's no truth to that. He's just lying,
- 2:22Speaker 2: but he's he knows the politics right now. Fake news
- 2:27Speaker 2: will go after Trump. So if you allege something against Trump,
- 2:31Speaker 2: fake news will back you up. We'll play it up.
- 2:34Speaker 2: But the fact is nobody was threatening to indict him.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Nothing like that was happening. They just simply kept asking
- 2:40Speaker 2: him for information over and over again, and he refused
- 2:43Speaker 2: to respond to the Justice Department, and finally in one
- 2:45Speaker 2: of those letters, thinking if you just keep refusing, we'll
- 2:47Speaker 2: have to take some sort of legal remedy. Nobody said
- 2:50Speaker 2: indictment or anything like that. He is The top economists
- 2:55Speaker 2: in the world agree, he's the worst FED chairman in decades,
- 2:59Speaker 2: the worst FED chairman, just horrible.
- 3:02Speaker 3: His Caroline Levitt, the President has every right to criticize
- 3:05Speaker 3: the FED chair He is a First Amendment right, just
- 3:08Speaker 3: like all of you do. And one thing for sure,
- 3:10Speaker 3: the President's made it quite clear is Jerome Powell is
- 3:13Speaker 3: that at his job. As for whether or not Jerome
- 3:15Speaker 3: Powell is a criminal, that's an answer the Department of
- 3:18Speaker 3: Justice is going to have to find out.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Now it could be not a criminal, it could
- 3:21Speaker 2: be the ridiculous overspending doesn't mean he stole the money.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It could just mean he's the most incredibly incompetent, bumbling
- 3:30Speaker 2: idiot in the world and that's how he let the
- 3:33Speaker 2: cost get way out of control on that FED building.
- 3:37Speaker 2: But just the worst, absolute worst FED chairman. Now a
- 3:41Speaker 2: lot of people think, well, why even bother with him?
- 3:44Speaker 2: He's gone in two three months. Anyway, he has to
- 3:46Speaker 2: step down now. Part of the problem is when he
- 3:48Speaker 2: steps down his FED chairman, he can remain on the
- 3:51Speaker 2: FED board, have a vote, have a lot of influence.
- 3:53Speaker 2: That's unusual. Usually when a FED chairman leaves, he leaves
- 3:57Speaker 2: the board as well. They don't know what Powell will do,
- 4:00Speaker 2: he said, ordinary sort of a guy. But I think
- 4:03Speaker 2: they're trying to pressure him to make sure that he
- 4:05Speaker 2: not only steps down as FED chairman, but leaves the
- 4:08Speaker 2: board as well. So now, by the way, Elizabeth Warren
- 4:14Speaker 2: made a speech yesterday about the economy, a big economic speech.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I don't know who looks to Elizabeth Warren for economic speeches,
- 4:23Speaker 2: but she did it and was not bad. Wasn't bad.
- 4:28Speaker 2: In fact, after the speech, President Trump called her to
- 4:32Speaker 2: tell her that he really liked her speech. He was
- 4:36Speaker 2: very impressed with it. They had a nice conversation. Now
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know they're not going to suddenly become great friends.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And who knows why he did it. Maybe you know
- 4:44Speaker 2: he likes to call his worst enemy, or maybe he
- 4:48Speaker 2: thinks by having a nice phone conversation, whether it screws
- 4:51Speaker 2: her up even more with the Democrats. That could be
- 4:53Speaker 2: the reason too. But she got a lot. She was
- 4:58Speaker 2: supposed to get a lot of attention from this speech.
- 5:00Speaker 2: She's supposed to be on Rachel Maddow and Jen Psaki.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But she's not that important anymore in democratic world. They've
- 5:06Speaker 2: kind of lost interest in her. They think of her
- 5:09Speaker 2: as the past, not the future. So after this big speech,
- 5:13Speaker 2: in this big move yesterday, what did she get on?
- 5:17Speaker 2: Like the worst thing you can get on at MSNBC,
- 5:19Speaker 2: like Lawrence O'Donnell at ten o'clock. But here's Warren yesterday.
- 5:23Speaker 4: We are not short on good ideas and to win,
- 5:28Speaker 4: every Democrat should be proposing concrete plans for lowering costs.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Sourah, mom.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Donnie came from nowhere and took down a political dynasty.
- 5:41Speaker 4: How he ran a campaign tightly focused on the cost
- 5:45Speaker 4: of living, with easy to understand the platform, free buses,
- 5:50Speaker 4: freeze the rent, and deliver no cost childcare.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Very easy to understand. Doesn't make any sense, but it's
- 5:57Speaker 2: also impossible, but very easy to understand. What political dynasty
- 6:01Speaker 2: did he take down? Eric Adams? That was a dynasty.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The guy couldn't even run for re election. He had
- 6:07Speaker 2: to drop out. And again, had Cuomo Andrew Cuomo not
- 6:12Speaker 2: shown up, the whole thing would have been different. Remember
- 6:14Speaker 2: when Cuomo first showed up, it was to scare Eric
- 6:18Speaker 2: Adams out of the Democratic primary, and it worked. He
- 6:22Speaker 2: scared him out of the Democratic primary, convinced him that
- 6:24Speaker 2: he had so much money and so much backing Adams,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and had Adam stayed in, culomos the world's worst debater.
- 6:32Speaker 2: He got slaughtered in both debates by Mom Donny. Had
- 6:35Speaker 2: Adam stayed in. He's not the most articulate kind in
- 6:38Speaker 2: the world, but he's colorful, he's charming. He probably would
- 6:41Speaker 2: have done better against Mom Donnie and probably would have
- 6:43Speaker 2: had the Democratic nomination. But Cuomo loses the Democratic nomination,
- 6:49Speaker 2: He loses, Democrats reject him. He then stays in the
- 6:53Speaker 2: race as a third party candidate, and it was the
- 6:57Speaker 2: weirdest situation I've ever seen. Kurtis is a major party candidate.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Curtis is the Republican candidate, and people are telling them,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you have to drop out, you have to drop Why
- 7:06Speaker 2: would the major party candidate have to drop out for
- 7:09Speaker 2: a guy on some third party? Nobody knows. It didn't
- 7:12Speaker 2: make any sense. Hey, Minnesota is going to sue I
- 7:16Speaker 2: guess the Trump administration for what. I don't know. Let's see,
- 7:22Speaker 2: this is crazy Mayor Fry. He's their mom, Donnie here.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Donald Trump should know as long as federal agents are
- 7:31Speaker 6: in our city acting unconstitutionally against our neighbors, we will
- 7:35Speaker 6: continue to push back with everything we've got.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Now, what is he talking about? What's unconstitutional? Law enforcement?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Enforcing actual laws that are on the books. I don't
- 7:46Speaker 2: think that's unconstitutional. You're allowed to actually enforce the law. Hey.
- 7:50Speaker 2: By the way, federal law supersedes local law. You can
- 7:53Speaker 2: make all your sanctuary city crazy laws, but federal law
- 7:56Speaker 2: Trump's local law. And every legal scholar, the Alan Dershowitz's
- 8:03Speaker 2: our best legal scholars state this lawsuit has absolutely no
- 8:07Speaker 2: chance of going anywhere. Here's that crazy Attorney General Keith Ellison,
- 8:13Speaker 2: who should resign immediately. Eighteen billion was stolen in the
- 8:17Speaker 2: Somali fraud scheme eighteen billion. You know how much that
- 8:21Speaker 2: is for one state? Eighteen billion goes missing, and this
- 8:24Speaker 2: guy didn't even notice. Didn't even notice. I mean, you
- 8:27Speaker 2: should be embarrassed. As in the Attorney general step down.
- 8:29Speaker 7: The deployment of thousands of armed mass DHS agents to
- 8:33Speaker 7: Minnesota has done our state serious harm. This is, in essence,
- 8:39Speaker 7: a federal invasion of the Twin Cities and Minnesota, and
- 8:42Speaker 7: it must stop.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Okay, well, that's what democrats, that's what they do. Hysteria,
- 8:48Speaker 2: hyperbolic nonsense.
- 8:49Speaker 7: We allege that the obvious targeting of Minnesota, for our diversity,
- 8:54Speaker 7: for our democracy, and our differences of opinion with the
- 8:59Speaker 7: federal government is a violation of the Constitution and of
- 9:03Speaker 7: federal law.
- 9:04Speaker 2: It sounds great, you just yell all these things, but
- 9:07Speaker 2: I mean, it doesn't make any sense. It has no
- 9:09Speaker 2: chance in a courtroom. Federal law says you arrest the illegals,
- 9:12Speaker 2: and you pick them up, and you take them out
- 9:14Speaker 2: and get rid of them and take them out of
- 9:15Speaker 2: the country. So it's this is ellison. I guess it's
- 9:19Speaker 2: the guy behind the lawsuit. And again it has absolutely
- 9:22Speaker 2: no chance of doing anything in a courtroom. But these
- 9:27Speaker 2: lunatics think it's good for them politically, so they'll keep
- 9:30Speaker 2: pursuing it. This the woman Renee Good who was shot.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Renee Good. Apparently at the Golden Globe Awards, all the
- 9:41Speaker 2: celebrities were wearing Renee Good pins on their lapel. You know,
- 9:46Speaker 2: it's a big thing with these celebrities. At an award
- 9:48Speaker 2: shore you always have to have a pin. You remember,
- 9:50Speaker 2: it was the AIDS pin, it was the breast cancer pin,
- 9:52Speaker 2: it was this pin, which is fine, but the Renee
- 9:55Speaker 2: Good pin. I mean, basically a crazy lunatic. And again,
- 10:02Speaker 2: who do you know that would I mean, if a
- 10:05Speaker 2: cop pulled you over, wouldn't you just be nice, polite, cooperate.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I mean, maybe I might know somebody who'd give the
- 10:12Speaker 2: cop a hard time, who'd argue with the cop or
- 10:15Speaker 2: yell at it. I might know somebody will do that.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But who do you know, like Renee Good? Who do
- 10:19Speaker 2: you know that if there was a caravan of law
- 10:22Speaker 2: enforcement moving up the street, would drive in front of them,
- 10:25Speaker 2: turn a car sideways, box them in, block them in.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I mean, when cops see that happen, the car pulls
- 10:32Speaker 2: up in front, turned sideways, boxes them in. That's usually
- 10:36Speaker 2: a sign of an ambush coming. That's like drug car
- 10:39Speaker 2: tells do that to wipe out a witness being transported.
- 10:42Speaker 2: But who do you know that would have the nerve
- 10:45Speaker 2: to do that. You got to be absolutely nuts to
- 10:48Speaker 2: do something like that. Though, Hey, yesterday was the second
- 10:52Speaker 2: inauguration of Bruce Blakeman. He's the Nassau County executive. Nassau
- 10:56Speaker 2: County for the last four years under Bruce Blakeman came
- 11:01Speaker 2: the safest crime statistic wise, safest county in America, most
- 11:05Speaker 2: successful economically, every other measure county in America. He's going
- 11:10Speaker 2: to run for governor later this year. He's got a
- 11:12Speaker 2: good chance, I think. I mean I would vote from
- 11:14Speaker 2: brit for governor. Being a county executive basically that's being
- 11:19Speaker 2: a governor. You're the governor of Nassau County. And it's
- 11:21Speaker 2: not a little county. Nassau County is a major county,
- 11:24Speaker 2: three million people there. It's bigger than some states, one
- 11:28Speaker 2: of the biggest, biggest counties in New York and the
- 11:31Speaker 2: makeup of it demographically and all of that down party
- 11:35Speaker 2: lines resembles New York States. So the fact that he
- 11:38Speaker 2: won big there twice means he's got a real good
- 11:41Speaker 2: shot in New York. The inauguration yesterday phenomenal. He got
- 11:47Speaker 2: I would say, ten standing ovations. He brought in Donald
- 11:50Speaker 2: Trump's favorite singers, two great, great singers, Mary Milburn and
- 11:56Speaker 2: Christopher Macio. Those are the two you always sing, the
- 11:59Speaker 2: very beautiful voices. Singing at mari A Lago, A big,
- 12:03Speaker 2: big ceremony yesterday, a dinner afterwards. Mia Posto, great restaurant,
- 12:08Speaker 2: owned by some nice people. A lot of famous faces there,
- 12:12Speaker 2: major political figures, people in the business community. Our friend
- 12:16Speaker 2: Sid Rosenberg was there. I was there. I came in
- 12:22Speaker 2: four years ago. Actually I was the MC of the thing,
- 12:23Speaker 2: but this year they didn't have an MC like that,
- 12:26Speaker 2: so I came in. I didn't know where to sit,
- 12:28Speaker 2: so I said to the woman, is there in an
- 12:29Speaker 2: assigned seat? She goes, let me look at the list. Oh,
- 12:33Speaker 2: you're on the dais.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Wow.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I felt really honored. I mean, I'm the dais next
- 12:37Speaker 2: to Bruce Blakeman. But then I thought, uh, oh, I
- 12:41Speaker 2: mean it's an honor, but the whole audience is looking
- 12:43Speaker 2: at you. You can't look at your phone. You got to
- 12:44Speaker 2: pay attention to all the speeches. You can't do anything
- 12:48Speaker 2: you have to, but it would turn out to be
- 12:50Speaker 2: a great, great ceremony, and people love Bruce Blakeman definitely. Actually,
- 12:55Speaker 2: if you want to help him, go to Bruce Blakeman
- 12:57Speaker 2: for New York dot Com. You want to volunteer, donate
- 13:00Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman from New York dot Com. He's gonna run
- 13:03Speaker 2: against Kathy Hokel and he's much more qualified than Kathy Hokele. Now,
- 13:08Speaker 2: Kathy Hokel is about to make her State of the
- 13:12Speaker 2: State speech, and it's interesting. Blakeman is a like kind
- 13:17Speaker 2: of a middle of the road common sense I mean,
- 13:19Speaker 2: he's a Republican, but a real common sense Republican, approaches
- 13:24Speaker 2: everything like a businessman. Hokeel tends to. She's like Cuomo.
- 13:29Speaker 2: She'll go to the left, and if she needs to,
- 13:32Speaker 2: she'll go to the very far left. Remember people thought
- 13:36Speaker 2: Cuomo was some sort of moderate. He went so far
- 13:38Speaker 2: to the left with his no bail, no jail, closed
- 13:41Speaker 2: the prisons, let everybody out, all his craziness. Don't be
- 13:44Speaker 2: surprised if she does the same thing she thinks right now.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Her thinking is she's gonna have to have Mom Donnie
- 13:50Speaker 2: support and all the Mom Donnie people behind her. Half
- 13:53Speaker 2: the votes from New York State are in the City
- 13:56Speaker 2: of New York, so she's gonna need mom Donnie. So
- 13:58Speaker 2: a lot of people think she'll go no in the
- 14:00Speaker 2: State of the States speech way far to the left,
- 14:04Speaker 2: and that she's probably going to announce all sorts of
- 14:06Speaker 2: anti ice sort of stuff and just sound like a
- 14:10Speaker 2: left wing kook. So expect that. Hey, speaking of which
- 14:14Speaker 2: Democrats are going to start, you'll see this develop. They're
- 14:17Speaker 2: going to start their defund ice movement in Congress, trying
- 14:21Speaker 2: to officially defund ice. It's not what American citizens want.
- 14:27Speaker 2: They like ice, they like law enforcement, they don't want
- 14:30Speaker 2: to defund it. But you know, Democrats, it started years
- 14:34Speaker 2: ago with defund the police. It's evolved into in recent times,
- 14:38Speaker 2: run them over with your car. If they go back
- 14:40Speaker 2: to just defund all right, that's not so bad. Now.
- 14:46Speaker 2: The President in Detroit, Michigan today, he's going to make
- 14:49Speaker 2: a big economic speech. There's a big Economic Club of
- 14:53Speaker 2: New York. That speech is a very important one. Every year,
- 14:56Speaker 2: believe it or not, there's an Economic Club of Detroit
- 14:59Speaker 2: and Represident goes there to speak. It's considered a very
- 15:02Speaker 2: very important event. And President heading there as we speak,
- 15:07Speaker 2: he'll make a big speech there. He'll tour the Ford Plant.
- 15:11Speaker 2: So we'll see, we'll talk about we'll get to Iran
- 15:14Speaker 2: coming up, we'll get to.
- 15:17Speaker 9: Oh.
- 15:18Speaker 2: One more thing. If you have a Metro card, you know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: they don't use him anymore. Metro card. You know it
- 15:24Speaker 2: used to be tokens, then switched to the Metro card.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Now you can just use your phone. Just hold your
- 15:29Speaker 2: phone up to the turnstile and you're in. If you
- 15:34Speaker 2: have a Metro card, do not throw it away. I
- 15:38Speaker 2: don't know why, but Metro cards are becoming very valuable
- 15:42Speaker 2: as collector's items on the reseller market. Some are going
- 15:45Speaker 2: for up to thirty five hundred dollars. I guess it's
- 15:48Speaker 2: just a piece of history. But there's a whole bunch
- 15:53Speaker 2: of them on I guess eBay and all sorts of places.
- 15:57Speaker 2: A twenty twenty five card going for thirty five hundred.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Even just the worst listings they're going for one hundred dollars.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Do not throw away your Metro card. Keep it. Go
- 16:08Speaker 2: online and see what you can sell it for. Hey,
- 16:11Speaker 2: if you have an original iPod or the first iPhone
- 16:16Speaker 2: from the first year, I think I still have one somewhere.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I've looked online on the ebaying places. Some of those
- 16:22Speaker 2: original iPhones are selling for like twenty thousand, eighty thousand,
- 16:27Speaker 2: the original iPod. I think it is going for like
- 16:28Speaker 2: a million dollars. Anyway, we'll take some calls next. Eight
- 16:31Speaker 2: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the
- 16:34Speaker 2: number eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten.
- 16:39Speaker 2: The Mark Simone Show continues on sevent tenor hey, let's
- 16:49Speaker 2: take some calls. Let's go to Chris in Manhattan. Chris,
- 16:52Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 16:53Speaker 8: I'm good? Thanks mart?
- 16:54Speaker 9: How are you doing it?
- 16:55Speaker 8: You have a cold or a flu or you.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Don't know yet? Right? Do I sound stuffed up? You
- 17:00Speaker 2: do allergies? I think, Oh, well, I hope you feel better.
- 17:04Speaker 8: Look up?
- 17:05Speaker 2: Huh I feel fine?
- 17:07Speaker 8: Oh okay, okay, Well I hope your allergies go away.
- 17:10Speaker 8: Then listen, I have a question that has absolutely nothing
- 17:13Speaker 8: to do with you, and maybe you like to remain
- 17:16Speaker 8: a mystery because it's intriguing. But when you go on vacation,
- 17:20Speaker 8: what kind of places do you go to? Not where
- 17:22Speaker 8: you're going to go next, but like, what do you
- 17:24Speaker 8: do for enjoyment when you're not when you're on vacation
- 17:27Speaker 8: for two weeks.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Actually, I don't enjoy it that much. I used to
- 17:32Speaker 2: like to go to Florida, but you can't go there
- 17:34Speaker 2: now because it's all people from New York. It's the
- 17:36Speaker 2: same people you see in New York, only now they're
- 17:38Speaker 2: in shorts. It's just it doesn't work out.
- 17:41Speaker 8: So basically, you like the warm weather in the winter.
- 17:44Speaker 8: You know, you don't go skiing. You know, you never
- 17:46Speaker 8: say anything about what you do, except you talk about
- 17:48Speaker 8: restaurants that you go to, which is fine because I'm listening,
- 17:51Speaker 8: But you know, I was just wondering. Anyway, I think
- 17:53Speaker 8: you have the best show on the radio. There's no butt,
- 17:56Speaker 8: there's no nothing.
- 17:57Speaker 2: All right, thanks, anybody goes skiing has got to be
- 18:00Speaker 2: Can you imagine a ski trip? Can you imagine paying
- 18:03Speaker 2: to go somewhere where it's colder than where you are?
- 18:06Speaker 2: You imagine paying to go somewhere where there's a foot
- 18:08Speaker 2: of snow? I mean, who would? But there are people
- 18:10Speaker 2: that love it. Let's go to Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy,
- 18:13Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 18:15Speaker 8: Hi?
- 18:15Speaker 5: Happy New Year? All to talk. Reporting from the DOJ
- 18:21Speaker 5: of the US Attorney's Office of the Southern District of
- 18:24Speaker 5: New York that I've been hearing all these years. Imagine
- 18:27Speaker 5: my amazement when I got a correspondence from them and
- 18:29Speaker 5: it was real. It's not a scam, but I wanted
- 18:32Speaker 5: to know if you knew about this story. Apparently I'm
- 18:34Speaker 5: a victim. This is a big New York City story
- 18:38Speaker 5: about Modest Needs charity that I belonged to, and it
- 18:43Speaker 5: was a strictly New York City based charity and the
- 18:47Speaker 5: founder of it, doctor Keith Taylor, apparently took all of
- 18:51Speaker 5: our money and misused it and stole it over all
- 18:55Speaker 5: these years of giving it. Have you ever heard of
- 18:57Speaker 5: the Modest Needs?
- 18:59Speaker 2: You got a letter and this was alleged by the
- 19:02Speaker 2: US attorney.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Oh, they were it's a criminal case. They found him guilty.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Apparently they are looking for I guess I don't know
- 19:09Speaker 5: if they're looking for impact statements. But I'm a victim,
- 19:12Speaker 5: so they have to notify me that he was I
- 19:14Speaker 5: guess cutting a deal or whatever. But it's huge, like
- 19:17Speaker 5: it might be.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Very careful when you give money to a charity. A
- 19:20Speaker 2: lot of them are not legitimate.
- 19:22Speaker 5: I know that it was such a good charity I thought, and.
- 19:24Speaker 2: It was only you got to really check them out.
- 19:27Speaker 2: You got to go to it. There's all kinds of
- 19:28Speaker 2: places you can check out a charity.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Have you never really heard of Modest Needs? It was
- 19:32Speaker 5: based only in New York City. Gosh, but you know everything. Mark.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Don't get money to charity unless you really thoroughly check
- 19:41Speaker 2: it out. I'm on the board of the Police Athletic League,
- 19:43Speaker 2: the New York City one, not the other ones. New
- 19:46Speaker 2: York City one. One of the finest charities. You can
- 19:48Speaker 2: be sure all the money goes the right place. Salvation
- 19:51Speaker 2: Army is one of the great charities. Very good. There's
- 19:54Speaker 2: a lot of good ones. Don't give to those bad ones.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Let's go to Paul in Beth Page. Paul, how you do?
- 20:02Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark. I was listening to the radio. Guys
- 20:05Speaker 8: had a little skin about some council person or someone
- 20:08Speaker 8: who works with the New York City Council got arrested
- 20:11Speaker 8: out in Long Island by ice.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Do you know anything wrong about that?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Well, I know there was somebody arrested by ice in
- 20:19Speaker 2: Long Island and they're saying that the Democrats are saying
- 20:24Speaker 2: this person has absolutely no criminal anything. There's no reason
- 20:27Speaker 2: for him to be maybe here illegal, but no reason
- 20:29Speaker 2: to arrest him, and then Tom Holman is saying they
- 20:31Speaker 2: did have a former arrest, a prior arrest for the guy.
- 20:35Speaker 2: But we'll wait and see. I usually find if you
- 20:37Speaker 2: trust Tom Holman, you'll come out. Okay, let's go to
- 20:42Speaker 2: John and Norwalk. John, how you doing very well?
- 20:45Speaker 8: Thank you?
- 20:45Speaker 9: Mark? And there's a you know, we really miss sharing
- 20:48Speaker 9: Michael Goodwin halt he comes back soon.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah, we hope to get him back soon.
- 20:51Speaker 9: He's just not yeah feeling So this is sort of silly.
- 20:53Speaker 9: But why don't they just hold a plebiscite in Minnesota
- 20:56Speaker 9: and let tampalm Tim decide whether they wanted hitting federal
- 20:59Speaker 9: or not.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Just clo, what do you want to hold in Minnesota?
- 21:02Speaker 9: A pleber site of vote?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh, you can't just save vote, he said, plebish site.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Now I got to go get a dictionary. We all
- 21:09Speaker 2: got to look this up to see what the hell up?
- 21:11Speaker 2: What the hell is a clever site? I can't just
- 21:14Speaker 2: say a vote.
- 21:15Speaker 9: Well, I'm trying to be cool.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I don't think it's the let's just say vote, although
- 21:19Speaker 2: I could so you could do that. I could try
- 21:21Speaker 2: that out on people. I just say I'm looking to
- 21:24Speaker 2: have a pleba site and then everybody looks at you
- 21:26Speaker 2: like you're either very smart or your nuts pleba site. Anyway,
- 21:30Speaker 2: thanks for Colin. Let's go to David in New Jersey. David,
- 21:34Speaker 2: how you doing. Hey, good morning Mark.
- 21:37Speaker 10: I have a solution for the nurses shike. Yeah, saying
- 21:41Speaker 10: that the cost of living so high in New York
- 21:44Speaker 10: they need more pay I think that everyone should just
- 21:46Speaker 10: take a break for six months, and Mamdanie's going to
- 21:49Speaker 10: bring all the cost of living down.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Everyone's gonna be.
- 21:51Speaker 10: Saving two three thousand dollars a month.
- 21:53Speaker 8: Problem solved.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Well, actually, uh, President Trump is bringing the cost of
- 21:58Speaker 2: living down. The big beautiful bill Fine kicks in this month,
- 22:01Speaker 2: and you'll start to see more money in your paycheck,
- 22:03Speaker 2: less taxes. Nurses strikes a big deal. It's a lot.
- 22:06Speaker 2: It's fifteen thousand people out on strike, and mom Donnie
- 22:10Speaker 2: out there on the picket line with him. I don't know,
- 22:14Speaker 2: it's one thing to support them. I don't know if
- 22:16Speaker 2: you're supposed to be out there picketing with him, Mom
- 22:17Speaker 2: Donnie on the picket line.
- 22:18Speaker 4: These executives are not having difficulty making ends meet, but
- 22:22Speaker 4: for too many.
- 22:23Speaker 2: You get into it. In the next hour, He's yelling
- 22:25Speaker 2: and screaming about the hospital executives and how much money
- 22:28Speaker 2: they make. Anyway, we'll get to that coming up. But
- 22:31Speaker 2: when coming up next, we'll talk to Bill O'Reilly. Lots
- 22:34Speaker 2: of discuss with him in just a moment on seven
- 22:37Speaker 2: to ten wor give WR Obre said on the iHeartRadio
- 22:42Speaker 2: app to hear Mark.
- 22:43Speaker 10: Simone and all the WR hosts.
- 22:46Speaker 2: In an instead.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Well, Bill O'Reilly the number one TV anchor for decades
- 22:55Speaker 2: and the number one best selling nonfiction author on Earth.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Just get his latest book, Confronting Evil. It's excellent. Also,
- 23:03Speaker 2: you can get the TV show, the column everything at
- 23:05Speaker 2: billoreilly dot com and make sure he watch his YouTube channel.
- 23:09Speaker 2: A lot of great stuff there, Bill O'Reilly, How you doing?
- 23:13Speaker 8: You know I'm hanging top very busy because every day
- 23:17Speaker 8: is another major story, right.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it's just getting you know, I understood the
- 23:25Speaker 2: Democrats getting so crazy they want to defund the police,
- 23:28Speaker 2: the idea that now they want to just run them
- 23:29Speaker 2: over with their car, and where is this all going
- 23:31Speaker 2: to end?
- 23:33Speaker 9: Well?
- 23:33Speaker 8: I wrote a column on Bill O'Reilly dot com called Rebellion,
- 23:37Speaker 8: and it's way beyond descent or protests. Now, so you
- 23:44Speaker 8: got ten states in the Union that basically are saying
- 23:47Speaker 8: we're not going to obey federal law, not going to
- 23:50Speaker 8: do it. And now it's up to the Trump administration
- 23:55Speaker 8: to confront those states. So the last time has happened
- 24:01Speaker 8: in this kind of a vivid way, it was eighteen
- 24:04Speaker 8: thirty three. Simon, you were just a baby, all right.
- 24:08Speaker 8: Eighteen thirty three, South Carolina said to President Andrew Jackson,
- 24:14Speaker 8: we're not going to obey the tariffs that you've imposed
- 24:18Speaker 8: on Great Britain. So when they ships sail into Charleston,
- 24:24Speaker 8: we're not charging them any money to unload their gear
- 24:27Speaker 8: because that raised this price for people in South Carolina.
- 24:31Speaker 8: So blank you, Andrew Jackson, Okay, this is exactly the
- 24:36Speaker 8: same thing. It's happening right now. And then Jackson started
- 24:40Speaker 8: around and said, Okay, if you don't obey it, we're
- 24:45Speaker 8: gonna have federal governman's gonna march in and take this
- 24:47Speaker 8: state over. There's not gonna be anymore South Carolina. It's
- 24:52Speaker 8: gonna be Washington, d C. South. So they quickly came
- 24:56Speaker 8: to an arrangement. Now, maybe one out of ten million
- 25:03Speaker 8: Americans know that. But this has happened before, and right
- 25:10Speaker 8: now President Trump has a decision to make it looks
- 25:13Speaker 8: like he's just going to ignore people in Minnesota, Oregon, California.
- 25:19Speaker 8: He's going to ignore them and do exactly what he
- 25:22Speaker 8: wants to do.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but this, you know, we had a generation that
- 25:29Speaker 2: came out of colleges and schools, all indoctrinated, crazy left wing.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But now looks we've got the most spoiled people in
- 25:36Speaker 2: the world that think they can do anything to law enforce.
- 25:39Speaker 8: That is absolutely a correct statement. Simon just made. These
- 25:43Speaker 8: people on both the far left and the far right.
- 25:47Speaker 8: The difference is the far right doesn't have any organizational power.
- 25:53Speaker 8: So you've got krups, you know, running around with the
- 25:55Speaker 8: Nazi armbands in the middle of Idaho wherever they are,
- 25:59Speaker 8: but they don't have any way to affect our society.
- 26:04Speaker 8: The far left es is very well organized and funded,
- 26:09Speaker 8: and these groups that you see protesting almost every single
- 26:13Speaker 8: time I've been organized through social media. People are told
- 26:18Speaker 8: to go to a certain place, the handed signs that
- 26:21Speaker 8: are preprinted, pre made, and they're told to do And
- 26:26Speaker 8: that's what happened in Minnesota. This woman who was killed,
- 26:32Speaker 8: Miss good she was in that crew in getting directions
- 26:38Speaker 8: on how to disrupt ice investigations, and foolishly she went
- 26:47Speaker 8: out there and tried to do just that with her vehicle.
- 26:51Speaker 8: There wasn't some woman who just came out and said, Oh,
- 26:54Speaker 8: I don't like this immigration crackdown and I'm going to
- 26:57Speaker 8: do this on my own. That was not that. That
- 27:01Speaker 8: is a very well organized play. And New York City
- 27:05Speaker 8: has got probably the most sophisticated far left messaging system
- 27:09Speaker 8: in the world because this city there are a lot
- 27:13Speaker 8: of communists and socialists and anarchists here, a lot of them.
- 27:18Speaker 8: And that's why Mandanni is mayor.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but where's this end? It just seems to escalate.
- 27:26Speaker 2: It used to be defund the police. Now it's run
- 27:28Speaker 2: them over. What's next? Where's this going?
- 27:31Speaker 8: Well, it's not going to go anywhere. I think it'll
- 27:35Speaker 8: be intensified because the Justice Department has to understand that
- 27:40Speaker 8: when you're in a confrontation where life and death might occur,
- 27:44Speaker 8: then you have to de escalate if you can. And
- 27:48Speaker 8: in Minnesota, and this is every police department, including NYPD,
- 27:53Speaker 8: has this in their manual that if its life or
- 27:56Speaker 8: death and there's another way out for the police for
- 28:00Speaker 8: the authorities, you've got to explore that way. So let
- 28:04Speaker 8: me give you a specific example. The woman was breaking
- 28:07Speaker 8: the law. She's committing a felony by blocking ice in Minnesota.
- 28:13Speaker 8: And not only that, she was arrogant to boot. And
- 28:16Speaker 8: that's why these guys got so upset. Number One, they
- 28:20Speaker 8: should not have gotten so upset. They should not have
- 28:24Speaker 8: used the F word and screaming. And no, that's how
- 28:27Speaker 8: you do it. You don't stand in front of a
- 28:30Speaker 8: vehicle because you know that vehicle might come at you.
- 28:33Speaker 8: And the agent was standing in front of the vehicle.
- 28:37Speaker 8: So whether that's poorly trained or I can't second guess
- 28:41Speaker 8: the police, but in a police training situation, they'd be
- 28:46Speaker 8: told don't stand in front of the vehicle. And then
- 28:48Speaker 8: once you unholster your weapon, that escalates everything. And so
- 28:56Speaker 8: you don't do that unless you absolutely have to do it.
- 29:00Speaker 8: See what I'm talking about. Yeah, there isn't There isn't
- 29:04Speaker 8: a court in the country that would convict this ice agent.
- 29:07Speaker 8: I don't believe there's one, even in Minnesota or Oregon,
- 29:10Speaker 8: these crazy states, because there is a reasonable doubt. And
- 29:15Speaker 8: if you look at the video when you slow it down,
- 29:18Speaker 8: this guy had a split second to make a decision.
- 29:21Speaker 8: And I'm sure he felt he was in jeopardy. I'm
- 29:23Speaker 8: one hundred percent sure of that. But he did take
- 29:30Speaker 8: the weapon out and he stood in front of the truck.
- 29:33Speaker 8: And I believe those two should be trained. People should
- 29:37Speaker 8: see that, law enforcement people and say, you know, there's
- 29:40Speaker 8: another way.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. Alan Dershowitz said, if he had a
- 29:46Speaker 2: student who described that as murder, he would flunk him
- 29:50Speaker 2: in the class. You would just flunk.
- 29:52Speaker 8: That's defamation. And that's what that idiot Steve Kerr, the
- 29:57Speaker 8: coach of the Golden State Warriors, said, And he's just
- 30:01Speaker 8: an idiot. I mean, this guy sits there with this
- 30:04Speaker 8: arrogant look, like, come on, Steve, come on debate me.
- 30:09Speaker 8: How long does it think that Steve would last one
- 30:12Speaker 8: on one with me some more? How long? That's okay?
- 30:16Speaker 8: So when you're a commitment, when you're accusing somebody a murder,
- 30:19Speaker 8: and you know this wasn't a premeditated murder, all right,
- 30:25Speaker 8: they wanted to get the woman off the street, but
- 30:29Speaker 8: as they should have. But there comes a point where
- 30:33Speaker 8: you have to decide what's the best tactic here. We
- 30:37Speaker 8: don't want anybody dead. If there's another woman shot dead
- 30:40Speaker 8: in this country by Ice agents that's going to turn
- 30:44Speaker 8: against the Trump administration. The people will turn. Don't want that,
- 30:51Speaker 8: just like Kent State during Vietnam, the four people shot
- 30:55Speaker 8: by the National Guard on the university campus. Americans want
- 31:00Speaker 8: is a law enforced. I believe that Trump will prevail
- 31:04Speaker 8: on this, that most Americans are behind him, because it
- 31:09Speaker 8: wouldn't have been elected if they weren't. But there's got
- 31:13Speaker 8: to be a methodical way to go about it, not
- 31:16Speaker 8: a chaotic way.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yeah. But these these states, these cities, these Mandanni's locals
- 31:24Speaker 2: mayor fright, they're never going to back down. It's always
- 31:26Speaker 2: going to be chaos caused by them.
- 31:30Speaker 8: That's true. There's no doubt that the Minnesota people incited
- 31:35Speaker 8: that woman to go out on it and block those
- 31:39Speaker 8: Ice agents. There's no question. Now Mandanni himself, he's a
- 31:43Speaker 8: little shrewder than that. What I'm picking up from him
- 31:48Speaker 8: is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that he's
- 31:52Speaker 8: not saying to the people. Let me give you a
- 31:54Speaker 8: very vivid example. What he wants to do is to
- 31:59Speaker 8: drive landlords out of New York City. He wants them
- 32:05Speaker 8: to sell their buildings or to walk away from their
- 32:08Speaker 8: buildings in some cases. And how he's accomplishing that is
- 32:12Speaker 8: to slap so many regulations on landlords they're going to
- 32:16Speaker 8: be impossible to make a profit. And then he wants
- 32:20Speaker 8: the city to then buy or sees in some areas
- 32:27Speaker 8: all the housing. That's what Man Donnie wants, but he
- 32:32Speaker 8: won't tell you that. But behind the scenes, if you're
- 32:35Speaker 8: a landlord, and I know one of my friends owns
- 32:38Speaker 8: a lot of buildings, it's almost impossible for these guys
- 32:42Speaker 8: to function now in a business sense because there's so
- 32:45Speaker 8: many city regulations on it. And what that's going to
- 32:48Speaker 8: lead to is slums. Who's going to fix the buildings
- 32:51Speaker 8: if you're heating those out, or if something happens, who's
- 32:54Speaker 8: going to come in and fix the landslord? Landlord's not
- 32:56Speaker 8: going to do it. Who's going to do it? Man Donnie. Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 8: So that's the kind of stuff that this guy is doing,
- 33:05Speaker 8: and that New Yorkers don't even know. They have no
- 33:09Speaker 8: idea that this guy wants the city to run pretty
- 33:14Speaker 8: much everything. Wants to take out individual capitalism and replace
- 33:20Speaker 8: it with what he calls collectivism.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Which is always disaster every time it's tried, and it
- 33:28Speaker 2: has happened.
- 33:28Speaker 8: One country in the history of mankind that is prospered
- 33:33Speaker 8: under collectivism, not one. Well, these people don't care about that.
- 33:37Speaker 8: It's all about power for them. That's what it's about.
- 33:40Speaker 2: We're at a time but great stuff. If you want
- 33:42Speaker 2: to see more, read more, go to Bill O'Reilly dot com.
