Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, fake doctors, fans, and welcome to Daniel's Rap recap Show,
- 0:05Speaker 1: where I wrap a recap of the entire series thus far. Now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm not gonna do that. Could you imagine that'd be ridiculous? Anyway, Hi, everybody,
- 0:12Speaker 1: it's your friend d J Daniel and um, I'm here
- 0:15Speaker 1: to tell you a little bit about some of the
- 0:18Speaker 1: music that has been made for the show or used
- 0:21Speaker 1: for the show to accompany the very talent to Donald
- 0:24Speaker 1: Phazon's dip into the world of wrapping recap shakoor if
- 0:29Speaker 1: you will, as one great friend and fan of the
- 0:32Speaker 1: show has dubbed him. Uh, the way this is gonna
- 0:35Speaker 1: work is, I'm going to tell you a little bit
- 0:37Speaker 1: about myself, a little history of the you know, of
- 0:39Speaker 1: my music making and how I, you know, got into
- 0:43Speaker 1: doing this, and then we're going to go through all
- 0:45Speaker 1: of the beats that have been used for the show
- 0:48Speaker 1: and how they came about. Um, and so let's get
- 0:53Speaker 1: right into it. We made a nurses before working at
- 1:19Speaker 1: my Heart, I was a touring DJ and musician with
- 1:22Speaker 1: my best friend Ian. We were a group called Gladiator
- 1:25Speaker 1: and we made electronic music and we were, you know,
- 1:27Speaker 1: so lucky to play electronic music shows and you know, raves, festivals,
- 1:32Speaker 1: all that stuff all over the world. After that time
- 1:35Speaker 1: of my life, I was again so lucky to move
- 1:38Speaker 1: into the world of podcasting and start working at then
- 1:42Speaker 1: How Stuff Works and now I heart Radio. And even
- 1:45Speaker 1: though I was out of the world of electronic music,
- 1:47Speaker 1: I still had a love for making music, making beats.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I still did it occasionally, and I still had a
- 1:54Speaker 1: lot of music left in the library to use and
- 1:57Speaker 1: to you know, just kind of hang onto and sometimes
- 2:00Speaker 1: I used it for a little highlight reels for my
- 2:02Speaker 1: stream or whatever. But really I just had a bunch
- 2:05Speaker 1: of music lying around that I, you know, had had
- 2:07Speaker 1: no intention of using for anything else. So, as you're
- 2:11Speaker 1: all familiar, Donald does the recaps at the beginning of
- 2:15Speaker 1: the episode. They've been a little bit absent recently because
- 2:18Speaker 1: as you can tell, we use them for special occasions
- 2:20Speaker 1: when he really wants to wrap, etcetera. But early on
- 2:23Speaker 1: in the show he would write them down, have it
- 2:26Speaker 1: nice and rehearsed and ready to go to really hit
- 2:28Speaker 1: that thirty second mark. So later on there was one
- 2:31Speaker 1: episode where Donald wasn't exactly totally prepared, which is fine.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Everybody's busy we'll have lives to lead. And he said,
- 2:38Speaker 1: or rather Zack said, so you're going to a free
- 2:40Speaker 1: for free something. Well, you know what, I'll just let
- 2:43Speaker 1: you hear it. Let's get into the recap, all right, listen,
- 2:47Speaker 1: let's get into your non written recap. Are you gonna
- 2:49Speaker 1: like are you gonna like? Free? Free flow it? What
- 2:52Speaker 1: do you call that? When you when you? When you are?
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I'm gonna do it off the top a go ahead,
- 2:58Speaker 1: go ahead, pep pep pep pep pep pep pep pe.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Dr Cox and Dr Kelso are like an old married couple.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Tower reads back, and she's looking prettier and prettier. Right,
- 3:15Speaker 1: did I say it right? Those eyes are so blue.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Carlos freaking out about the wedding. J B wants what
- 3:21Speaker 1: he can't have. Victory could be snatched from you at
- 3:26Speaker 1: the last moment. It's very interested. The grass is also
- 3:31Speaker 1: always greener on the other side. This was That's what
- 3:35Speaker 1: this episode was about. This episode was about what's on
- 3:39Speaker 1: the other side, and you everybody has fomo but when
- 3:43Speaker 1: you get it finally, at the end of the day,
- 3:46Speaker 1: the grass isn't greener. If anything, it's maybe a little
- 3:50Speaker 1: less green. Or if not worse, be happy with what
- 3:54Speaker 1: you got people you like who you get what you get,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and you don't get upset. That's how it goes, all right, Well,
- 4:00Speaker 1: listen on behalf of all of our listeners. I think
- 4:02Speaker 1: it's better when you pre write them and plan them
- 4:04Speaker 1: out a little bit. I had shipped to do. I'm
- 4:07Speaker 1: sorry people had my kids had to eat today. So yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 1: even though Donald kind of prompted me with his butt,
- 4:14Speaker 1: I wasn't you know, that wasn't a beat. That was
- 4:17Speaker 1: just him, you know, making the sounds of what he
- 4:19Speaker 1: what a beat intro kind of sounds like. But I
- 4:21Speaker 1: laid a beat under it. And that beat is called
- 4:23Speaker 1: Team Supreme Beat. It's a beat that I made a
- 4:25Speaker 1: long time ago as part of a remix contest for
- 4:28Speaker 1: a for a music collective called Team Supreme. The thing
- 4:44Speaker 1: about the Team Supreme collective or the Team Supreme you
- 4:47Speaker 1: know beat competition, is that like you have to make
- 4:50Speaker 1: them really quickly, and I'm kind of a slow producer.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So I missed the deadline to make that beat, but
- 4:54Speaker 1: I still ended up finishing it out and it just
- 4:56Speaker 1: sits in my library. And so it was one of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the ones that I like to just like throw around.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's a nice kind of chill beat, and yeah, I
- 5:02Speaker 1: threw it on top and it really seemed to work.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It works so much, as a matter of fact, that
- 5:07Speaker 1: Donald did the same exact thing two episodes later. All right,
- 5:11Speaker 1: here comes Donald's recab. I hope that I hope on
- 5:15Speaker 1: behalf of everyone that he chose to pre write it
- 5:19Speaker 1: this time. Now it's freestyle again, Like I like the beat.
- 5:23Speaker 1: The beat was fire first of all. Yeah, the beat
- 5:25Speaker 1: was good. Daniel. I was, oh god, I was worried.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I saw like one positive instant. I was like, now
- 5:35Speaker 1: he's never gonna write it again. He's gonna rely on
- 5:38Speaker 1: Daniel's beat. Let's go all right, dropped the beat. Daniel,
- 5:41Speaker 1: Turk and Carla finally reached their wedding to day. Jordan
- 5:45Speaker 1: and Cox have the house to themselves. If you're married
- 5:49Speaker 1: with kids, you know exactly how special that is. J
- 5:52Speaker 1: d and Elliott are beefing. And is it Danny or
- 5:55Speaker 1: Doug or Danny and Ted or is it Danny and Sean.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I don't know, but Danny get around like Tupac. Marriage
- 6:05Speaker 1: is a beautiful thing when you get it right. Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 1: good work. That was funny. That was a good one. Donald,
- 6:15Speaker 1: A nice beat, Daniel, thank you. So that beat is
- 6:18Speaker 1: called DIGERI Dang and it's made out of a sample
- 6:20Speaker 1: pack from a good friend of mine named Crabbins. That's
- 6:23Speaker 1: his artist name, and uh, the same sample pack actually
- 6:27Speaker 1: that if you're familiar with the show the disury Do
- 6:29Speaker 1: sample from any time we do a fix your Life
- 6:32Speaker 1: with a little digury Do at the end, it's the
- 6:34Speaker 1: same sample pack. So yeah, I just made a beat
- 6:36Speaker 1: out of that, out of this this dis Reid sample
- 6:39Speaker 1: that I really liked, and as it was, you know,
- 6:42Speaker 1: pretty hard, pretty pretty knocking. Definitely a lot of more
- 6:45Speaker 1: slapping drums on there, a lot of skinny high hats,
- 6:47Speaker 1: stuff that just like you know, adds a lot of
- 6:49Speaker 1: rhythm to what is more or less just a single
- 6:52Speaker 1: note kind of groove. That be was a lot of
- 7:07Speaker 1: fun and another one that I've been holding onto for
- 7:09Speaker 1: a long time. The thing about these beats is that
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know, they're ultimately pretty simple, and so they never
- 7:15Speaker 1: really had a place as like a whole entire song.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You know, their their their ideas, their concepts, and you know,
- 7:22Speaker 1: either you give them to you know, performers, rappers, singers
- 7:25Speaker 1: anybody who would want to work on the beat um
- 7:28Speaker 1: but otherwise, you know, if they're not going to be
- 7:30Speaker 1: complete songs in their own they just you know, they
- 7:32Speaker 1: sit in the library and uh a little little insight
- 7:35Speaker 1: into the whole production process. So this is the last
- 7:38Speaker 1: time that Donald freestyled without actually rapping. And this next
- 7:42Speaker 1: beat is called how do y'all? Another situation where I
- 7:46Speaker 1: found a sample that I really liked, this time from
- 7:48Speaker 1: an artist named Kashmir k s h m r uh.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And they have just an awesome sample back of original
- 7:53Speaker 1: composed sounds and samples and loops and stuff like that.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And this was a really super twangy guitar sample that
- 8:00Speaker 1: really spoke to me, and was also kind of a
- 8:02Speaker 1: genre that I hadn't really worked with before. I was
- 8:05Speaker 1: so used to working with very like, you know, metallic
- 8:08Speaker 1: samples and other synth kind of things, and hadn't really
- 8:11Speaker 1: worked with a really twangy guitar. It has kind of
- 8:13Speaker 1: a southern or rather country feel to it, and I
- 8:16Speaker 1: really wanted to do something with that. I still ended
- 8:18Speaker 1: up making it pretty hip hoppy, but hip hoppy Jesus
- 8:21Speaker 1: listen to me. Still, it still sounds pretty hard, and
- 8:24Speaker 1: I really like this beat. Here, let's listen to a
- 8:26Speaker 1: little bit of the original sample before I played the recap.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So that's kind of the original sample. It's just you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's it's a guitar loop. It's just you know, playing simple.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But I cut it up. I I trusted a little
- 8:53Speaker 1: bit to some pitching. You can hear that later on
- 8:55Speaker 1: in the beat. And again, unprompted, Donald does a freestyle
- 9:34Speaker 1: recap and I threw the beat under it and here
- 9:36Speaker 1: that is alright. Sorry, sorry for the one hour prologue.
- 9:40Speaker 1: It's time to talk about the television show Scrubs. Donald,
- 9:46Speaker 1: are you ready with your recap? Ready? Let me set
- 9:51Speaker 1: my timer, because everyone wants to know and go. Carla
- 9:56Speaker 1: has competition in the advice department. Cox needs to win.
- 10:01Speaker 1: J D and Elliott seemed to be on the relationship.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Man and Molly Clock played by Heather Graham, could be
- 10:07Speaker 1: its own investigative medical comedy with the cast of Scrubs
- 10:12Speaker 1: as a supporting element. Being competitive is one of the
- 10:15Speaker 1: most resourceful human assets in light. It can fuel a
- 10:19Speaker 1: person to greatness. Some people go too far, some people
- 10:22Speaker 1: have a problem. Life isn't the competition, But I often
- 10:26Speaker 1: find I'm most effective and successful, and I compete in
- 10:29Speaker 1: its game. M in it's game. Nice forty seconds graph guy.
- 10:34Speaker 1: All right, well those were all of the pre composed
- 10:38Speaker 1: beasts before Donald, you know, got real original and started
- 10:41Speaker 1: writing raps. But before we get to those, we're gonna
- 10:44Speaker 1: take a quick break and we're bad. We're back. I
- 10:53Speaker 1: always wanted to do that, all right, So now we're
- 10:56Speaker 1: onto the originals when I actually started making beats for Donald. Now,
- 11:00Speaker 1: this conversation you're about to hear is pretty much completely fresh.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Donald starts off the conversation by saying, uh, Daniel, I
- 11:07Speaker 1: want this beat to be a little different, and Zach
- 11:08Speaker 1: jumps to my defense immediately. Is a good friend he is.
- 11:11Speaker 1: But it ends up, you know, really working out. Donald,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you know again, completely unprompted or or without any warning,
- 11:18Speaker 1: just raps for us. And we're all completely blown away
- 11:22Speaker 1: by that. And you hear my little explanation of, like,
- 11:24Speaker 1: you know, how I've been making the beats in the past,
- 11:26Speaker 1: so this some of this information might you know, be
- 11:28Speaker 1: redundant to y'all, but uh then I explained how I'm
- 11:31Speaker 1: going to make a new beat, and that's what you
- 11:33Speaker 1: hear right there. But that was me truly hearing that
- 11:35Speaker 1: rap for the first time. Obviously, what you're hearing is
- 11:39Speaker 1: the beat with the rap on top of it. But
- 11:41Speaker 1: Donald just like rapped for us straight away. We're sitting
- 11:44Speaker 1: there in silence with our jaws on the floor, like what,
- 11:47Speaker 1: oh my god, Man's really did it? So um, it
- 11:50Speaker 1: was a really fun opportunity to, you know, pick up
- 11:53Speaker 1: the sticks again and make a fresh beat. And this
- 11:55Speaker 1: is the This was the first fresh beat I had
- 11:57Speaker 1: made and probably four or five of years literally, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: I had to take them quite a bit of a
- 12:02Speaker 1: break from producing music, and this was the first Batimate
- 12:05Speaker 1: in four to five years. So enjoy, Daniel. I feel
- 12:08Speaker 1: like this beat. It might be a little uh whoa,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I feel like this one. I feel like this beat
- 12:16Speaker 1: might be a little Adams family ish. You'll understand what
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'm saying. When we're done, you're rather you want him
- 12:21Speaker 1: to change, hold on, you want to go the beat?
- 12:23Speaker 1: Here we go if you don't need to stop watch.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But the last beat was fuego. They're always thank you
- 12:32Speaker 1: are ready and go yo, Carla lose his rowdy and
- 12:36Speaker 1: janetor have to squirrel Army Turk. Streams of coming true,
- 12:39Speaker 1: and Elliott fights with Molly j D doesn't want to
- 12:43Speaker 1: hurt nobody that Todd has superherring. He enters and it's comedy.
- 12:48Speaker 1: The talk shide is so powerful and useful. If you're
- 12:51Speaker 1: fearing beer can save a life, that's crazy, right, like
- 12:54Speaker 1: what you're hearing Big Doctor's real friends, d J, Daniel, Joel, Monique, dB.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That's the red cap plasterer turned your key. God, here
- 13:07Speaker 1: we go, he's got your Hamilton bag. Dude, dude, that's
- 13:12Speaker 1: the best one you've ever done. I look like, look,
- 13:14Speaker 1: I got goose bumps. That's the best one you've ever done.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And you hit thirty two seconds. I'm not even thirty.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I was trying to get dirty, dude, was I have
- 13:24Speaker 1: so many What led you to take it so much? Marajuana?
- 13:31Speaker 1: You're in my day so much in my day today,
- 13:39Speaker 1: all kay? So you're crediting Ganja for that, because I
- 13:42Speaker 1: would have. I was sitting in my house watching my
- 13:46Speaker 1: kids and I was bored. Okay, So they were doing
- 13:51Speaker 1: their zoom and I was like, I'm gonna write this
- 13:53Speaker 1: down so like a rap song. It was accompanying. But
- 13:57Speaker 1: but but you always are high when you write these
- 13:59Speaker 1: and this one was particularly great. I don't know what happened.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Something got into me today, I feel like something got
- 14:07Speaker 1: in you gotta you gotta make sure the beat is
- 14:11Speaker 1: worthy of that I was. I was just going to
- 14:13Speaker 1: say a little peek behind the curtain. All the beats
- 14:15Speaker 1: that I've played you are like you know, beats that
- 14:16Speaker 1: I've made over the past, like four or five years
- 14:18Speaker 1: whatever that was pulled from the bank, and just like
- 14:20Speaker 1: you know, little bits here and there. This is gonna be. Oh,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you might do any an original, well, they've all been original,
- 14:27Speaker 1: might do one just completely fresh? This is this is this,
- 14:32Speaker 1: this will be this will be in. This is gonna
- 14:34Speaker 1: be a This's gonna be a brand new one for you. God,
- 14:39Speaker 1: that was a banger. Honestly, that that beat is really
- 14:41Speaker 1: reminiscent of the kind of like hip hop beats that
- 14:43Speaker 1: I that I very much started making these like you know,
- 14:46Speaker 1: seventy b pm, just like very straightforward like hip hop
- 14:51Speaker 1: be It's kind of like, you know, real stank face
- 14:53Speaker 1: like head nodding kind of music. Lots of fun, all right,
- 14:57Speaker 1: So onto the next one, to the next, on to
- 15:01Speaker 1: the next, to the next, and the next one. I
- 15:04Speaker 1: feel like we really got into our stride. Donald was
- 15:07Speaker 1: really comfortable rapping. Everybody was ready for what was going
- 15:10Speaker 1: to come. I was really ready for what was coming
- 15:11Speaker 1: down the pipeline. And I think this was probably my
- 15:16Speaker 1: favorite meeting of our minds. This might be my favorite
- 15:18Speaker 1: beat of the ones that we made together. Donald's flow
- 15:21Speaker 1: is just so in the pocket. He had a great
- 15:24Speaker 1: I mean everything about it. The writing was perfect, and
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think personally the beat is pretty hard. Some of
- 15:29Speaker 1: the cleanest drums that I did for this. UM. I
- 15:32Speaker 1: love the sample. Um. The kind of pan flute sounds
- 15:35Speaker 1: really nice. And yeah, it was just a really really
- 15:39Speaker 1: fun beat to make. So enjoy all right, Well, listen, Bill.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You might not have heard the last episode, but Donald
- 15:44Speaker 1: did a rap version of the of the summary of
- 15:47Speaker 1: the show that was so amazing that it's all everyone's
- 15:49Speaker 1: talking about. And Daniel made a really really cool beat
- 15:52Speaker 1: to it. Really yeah, it was really good, really good,
- 15:59Speaker 1: so pure, so um. Much like um a showrunner who
- 16:03Speaker 1: has to make his second season really really good after
- 16:07Speaker 1: everyone loves the first, Donald now has to keep his
- 16:10Speaker 1: second dope rap as good as the first. Are you ready, Donald, man?
- 16:14Speaker 1: That's high pressure. High pressure. He gave me to Kathleen
- 16:17Speaker 1: Kennedy jump off like I gotta, I said, picture, you're
- 16:20Speaker 1: Kathleen Kennedy trying to make make another one. All right,
- 16:23Speaker 1: here you go, ready, you got this? Hit it? Daniel? Hey, Yo,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know how the song goes. I can't do this
- 16:34Speaker 1: on my own. Well, j D passes the mike and
- 16:37Speaker 1: Elliott sets the tone, keeping it. Really, she's more together
- 16:41Speaker 1: then I thought. And Terry and j D h the
- 16:43Speaker 1: cute it because they bought to tape recorder. Call the
- 16:47Speaker 1: made tape order and ends all games like it was
- 16:50Speaker 1: the fourth call. The bridges get burnt, lessons get learned.
- 16:54Speaker 1: For what it's worth. Dad can't command is in ternedific.
- 16:57Speaker 1: It's not for Papa Smurf, Tella pills on the show.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Let's all dives in Yo, here we go. If you
- 17:02Speaker 1: don't already, it's time to act like you know, I
- 17:05Speaker 1: hope like Tony the Tigers and show, we'll be great. Yo.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Bill hit him with that. Here's some stories about show
- 17:15Speaker 1: we made about a bunch of docs and nurses. And
- 17:19Speaker 1: Janitor said, he's a stories. So YadA around here? Are
- 17:29Speaker 1: YadA around here? M That was incredible. Donald, You've really
- 17:38Speaker 1: raised the bar groovy slapping smacker. Really enjoyed that one,
- 17:43Speaker 1: all right. So this next one, I really felt like
- 17:45Speaker 1: Donald got kind of in his like little John east
- 17:48Speaker 1: Side Boys Yin Yang Twins bag and just like threw down.
- 17:53Speaker 1: So I knew I had to match that, and I
- 17:56Speaker 1: kind of want I feel like this beat is kind
- 17:58Speaker 1: of a mix of the first beat the I made
- 18:00Speaker 1: for him and the second beat, and this is like,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you know, a kind of like a culmination of those
- 18:04Speaker 1: two sounds. Uh, It's a little bit faster than the
- 18:07Speaker 1: first beat. It has the same kind of horns as
- 18:09Speaker 1: the first beat, though it's basically like the speed of
- 18:11Speaker 1: the second beat the horns of the first beat. But
- 18:14Speaker 1: really like basically, the more practice that I got making
- 18:17Speaker 1: music again, the more plussed up these beats gotten, the
- 18:20Speaker 1: more you know, more exciting they really were. And and
- 18:23Speaker 1: basically I just think I just did a better job
- 18:25Speaker 1: each time, Like each progressive beat afterwards was like I
- 18:27Speaker 1: remember a lot more of my old techniques. I remembered
- 18:30Speaker 1: a lot more of like what I really loved about
- 18:32Speaker 1: making music again, and I just you know, I feel
- 18:35Speaker 1: like I was really in the groove. And um, this one,
- 18:38Speaker 1: this one's a big old banger so um enjoy. I'll
- 18:42Speaker 1: be knocking my head right there along with you. We
- 18:45Speaker 1: have so much to talk about, all right right, let
- 18:46Speaker 1: me just rehearsed this real quick and then we could
- 18:48Speaker 1: get into we have to what if the one that
- 18:50Speaker 1: you rehearse is magical? Then we don't have recorded? And
- 18:53Speaker 1: then I got recorded and we got it all right,
- 18:56Speaker 1: all right, here we go. J D was like, cannot
- 19:01Speaker 1: freaky frequent Molly to Elliott, who was hard pressed, but
- 19:04Speaker 1: probably when I thinking that knew he had no chance
- 19:07Speaker 1: in hell, so she sent him on the quest. Feel
- 19:09Speaker 1: me watch he fails. This episode was directed Buzzy visit
- 19:12Speaker 1: at the gardens. They came out, so he was starting
- 19:14Speaker 1: to sist. Della Bill was like, I don't want the
- 19:16Speaker 1: boy to visit. I'll let him to wreck Pete. Their
- 19:19Speaker 1: reason back lick crazy shots improvised what you Got treat
- 19:23Speaker 1: by aka Yo. That's kind of hot topic. Got a
- 19:26Speaker 1: chuck a lot so Ja based Dr Cox Mom Shannon
- 19:28Speaker 1: Molly put side all well received by the popular list
- 19:32Speaker 1: because like prim Z, b was an optimist. I'm rocking
- 19:36Speaker 1: like a lodge. You want serpent and he's like a
- 19:39Speaker 1: restaurant you can just called the face off. That's the recap,
- 19:41Speaker 1: but it wouldn't be complete without shot now d J
- 19:44Speaker 1: Daniel and Joel Monique. Yeah, dude, I feel like it's
- 19:52Speaker 1: my birthday and he gave me the best president you've
- 19:54Speaker 1: ever given. Yo. I hope that you can put this together. Oh,
- 19:59Speaker 1: don't you worry about a thing? That was hard? What
- 20:02Speaker 1: was the metrodome said to beats per minute? How happy
- 20:09Speaker 1: you made your beat maker? Don't you worry about the thing?
- 20:13Speaker 1: Slapper banger, smasher, radio smash. Anyway, that was a lot
- 20:17Speaker 1: of fun. And before we get to the next beat,
- 20:20Speaker 1: which is really exciting, has a fun has an interesting
- 20:22Speaker 1: story behind it. We are going to take a quick break.
- 20:24Speaker 1: We'll be right back and we are back once again.
- 20:33Speaker 1: So back once again with the renegame Master Default Amager
- 20:36Speaker 1: for power to the people anyway. But the next beat,
- 20:38Speaker 1: this was probably my greatest challenge working with Donald because
- 20:43Speaker 1: it was the rap that had the most unique meter
- 20:46Speaker 1: um Donald wrapped in a kind of waltz style of
- 20:49Speaker 1: three four think like you know a limerick or you know,
- 20:52Speaker 1: happy birthday for that matter, but happy birthday that you
- 20:54Speaker 1: don't really get the vibe of it, but instead of
- 20:56Speaker 1: it being just four on the floor of one two
- 20:59Speaker 1: three four or one two three four. His rapping was
- 21:03Speaker 1: more in counts of three one two three, one two three.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But that, but that that, or but that that butt
- 21:12Speaker 1: that that the butt that that that, and making a
- 21:16Speaker 1: beat at that meter is a little bit tough because
- 21:18Speaker 1: the way the flow works, it makes it sound more like,
- 21:21Speaker 1: you know, you're rocking back and forth, then you really
- 21:23Speaker 1: are knocking your head. It's more like um dumb, dumb dum.
- 21:29Speaker 1: And finding something that really matches that style that's also
- 21:32Speaker 1: like a knock and hip hop beat can be kind
- 21:34Speaker 1: of tough. So I've really played around with a lot
- 21:36Speaker 1: of ideas. I I knocked my head against the wall,
- 21:40Speaker 1: as they say, as I was trying to come up
- 21:42Speaker 1: with a really cool beat to to match Donald's just
- 21:44Speaker 1: unique flow, I mean, and the writing was great once again,
- 21:47Speaker 1: like you know, he really knocked it out of the
- 21:49Speaker 1: park with all of these raps and everything he wrote
- 21:51Speaker 1: was just spectacular, and so I really wanted to match
- 21:54Speaker 1: that energy, even though he was giving me a more
- 21:56Speaker 1: unique meter and something different to work with. Um And
- 22:00Speaker 1: then I remembered one of my favorite kind of freaky
- 22:03Speaker 1: songs that's in three four, and that would be Pink Elephants.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Pink Elephants from Dumbo is also a waltz, and so
- 22:11Speaker 1: or Dundundu wanted, they wanted, they wanted, they wanted, they wanted.
- 22:20Speaker 1: So I thought that would be a great a great
- 22:24Speaker 1: piece to sample and work around. And you know, again,
- 22:27Speaker 1: this was definitely one of the greater challenges of making
- 22:30Speaker 1: a beat for Donald because it's not standard. It's a
- 22:33Speaker 1: very unstandard meter for a rap song. If you're familiar
- 22:35Speaker 1: with artists like Andre Nicotina, that's where you hear it
- 22:38Speaker 1: the most. You might be thinking of people like the
- 22:40Speaker 1: Megos who were like doing the triplet style to put uh.
- 22:44Speaker 1: But the thing is the beats are still in four
- 22:48Speaker 1: four because most of their meter is still very standard,
- 22:51Speaker 1: but they have these moments of rapping and triple uh say,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and that can work. But if the entire thing is
- 22:59Speaker 1: in three for, you don't have that standard for for
- 23:02Speaker 1: to hold onto. It just makes it If the beat
- 23:06Speaker 1: was to sound just a straight forward for all the
- 23:08Speaker 1: way across, it would really feel like it's not matching
- 23:11Speaker 1: Donald's rap. So I wanted to do my best to
- 23:13Speaker 1: match it all the way across. And that's when I've
- 23:18Speaker 1: found pink elephants and uh yeah, I think it turned
- 23:23Speaker 1: out all right, so together we'll enjoy it. Please check
- 23:27Speaker 1: it out, all right you ready? Donald, Here we go
- 23:30Speaker 1: j D and they got beef thanks to Julie and
- 23:33Speaker 1: mug A Lee. I wish it was beat like the
- 23:35Speaker 1: Face because we all sing along. Yeah, you know the
- 23:38Speaker 1: theme song, Elliot's sick of bullshit. They tested her at
- 23:41Speaker 1: work like a quiz. She becomes a boy because her
- 23:44Speaker 1: patients a dick. Thanks are so say ish. Georgie's pep
- 23:47Speaker 1: talk was a refreshing shift to get to sex. Allie
- 23:50Speaker 1: leap in the end on your favorite of Kanya. You
- 23:52Speaker 1: know we stake friends rose before hose, but love always wins.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I learned all of this watching Wanda Vision Joel Monique.
- 23:58Speaker 1: The recap is complete. Don't beat for this beat you
- 24:01Speaker 1: what free? DJ Daniel hear me, I see how you
- 24:03Speaker 1: do respect to all of you. Listen this too. Now
- 24:06Speaker 1: back to this show. I was almost so late after one, two, three,
- 24:09Speaker 1: four comes here's some stories about show we made about
- 24:15Speaker 1: a bunch of docs and nurses and said, he's the
- 24:19Speaker 1: stories around here around here, m that's amazing, So are
- 24:38Speaker 1: amazing dude, in your next life, you need to be
- 24:42Speaker 1: a rapper. Love that one. Um, You're talented. You're very
- 24:45Speaker 1: talented rapper, Daniel. I hope that you're beat can can
- 24:48Speaker 1: match the awesome he will, he will crush that dude
- 24:51Speaker 1: if he that. The thing is it's at one fifteen
- 24:55Speaker 1: beats per minute, so the beat could be like something
- 24:58Speaker 1: freaky with that. You know what I like? What do
- 25:01Speaker 1: you want him to do slower? I want him to
- 25:03Speaker 1: do whatever he want, whatever he's feeling, man, whatever you're feeling.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And there you have a pink elephants, ladies and gentlemen.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Shout out Dumbo for the sample. Dumbo on the beat
- 25:12Speaker 1: as it were. Okay, well we've come to the end
- 25:16Speaker 1: of our little adventure. It's been so fun talking with
- 25:19Speaker 1: you all. I mean, I'm sitting here talking to myself
- 25:21Speaker 1: in my office, scary, it's lonely. I'm just kidding. But
- 25:25Speaker 1: it's been fun to take you all on a journey
- 25:28Speaker 1: of you know, where these beats came from, what the
- 25:30Speaker 1: process was like. Uh, if you have any questions, I
- 25:32Speaker 1: would love to, you know, talk about this process more,
- 25:35Speaker 1: or if you are interested in seeing some of the
- 25:37Speaker 1: samples live or talking about some of the production processes.
- 25:40Speaker 1: You can catch me on my stream on Wednesdays and
- 25:42Speaker 1: Sundays a Twitch, dot tv slash DJ Underscore Daniel and Yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I invite to you know, talk about music stuff more
- 25:49Speaker 1: because it's really a lot of fun. But we're down
- 25:51Speaker 1: to the last original beat for the show. And guess
- 25:55Speaker 1: what it was for? I think you all know that's right,
- 25:57Speaker 1: the live show? Where what did we sample the theme
- 26:01Speaker 1: song itself? Donald and I talked about that a little bit.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We were like, how are we gonna like really like
- 26:05Speaker 1: we gotta we gotta really spruce it up for the
- 26:07Speaker 1: live show? Why don't we sample the theme song? And
- 26:10Speaker 1: then boom made ourselves a nice little beat out of
- 26:13Speaker 1: the theme song. Donald wrote an incredible rap once again,
- 26:16Speaker 1: and we had you know, podcast magic as they say,
- 26:20Speaker 1: all right, well, since we're going on this last song,
- 26:23Speaker 1: thank you so much for listening. Thank you for taking
- 26:25Speaker 1: time out of your day to hear me wax poetic

- 26:31Speaker 1: show and it's been awesome to see Donald just right
- 26:34Speaker 1: incredible rhymes for the show. Just you know, man is
- 26:37Speaker 1: super talented. I mean a Zach said earlier in another life,
- 26:40Speaker 1: you need to be a rapper. Well, I think in
- 26:42Speaker 1: this life, Donald is achieving those achieving those goals. Anyway,
