- 0:00SPEAKER_01: The next thing Jesus said after that is it's finished.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: And so it was a simple imitation of saying, hey, I did what needed to be done so you can come to the Father, so you can be fully satisfied.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: So all the other things that you're trying to satisfy your life with, all of your other desires, they can be met in me.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Hey, welcome everybody again to the Extra Mile Podcast.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: My name is Steve Husky, Lead Pastor, and we are back with Pastor Austin Young.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Just gonna have a conversation, man.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Just came out of a an amazing Easter weekend.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Um, man, saw incredible things happen at our Good Friday service, and obviously the day of the history of all humanity, and that's the celebration of the resurrection of Christ.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: And so had a packed house, lots of life change.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: And uh I don't know, what'd you think about the weekend?
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, it was great.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I love um, I don't know, I'm getting more and more into like more liturgical calendar and all that stuff.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So like having a Good Friday service, I love it.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I love setting aside an opportunity to um sit in kind of the darkness and the heaviness of the cross, and then Easter Sunday can be more of the celebration of the resurrection and and it also gives you the ability to tackle both of those instances and not have to always combine them.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Because I think sometimes you get into that struggle of like it's Easter weekend, I got to talk about the cross and the resurrection equally.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: And it's like when you dedicate that one service, you can really talk about the sacrifice, and then you can really talk about the victory and the you know.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: So I appreciated that about the weekend.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: That's one of my favorite things about Easter, is both sides of that story.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: I had a just a light conversation with a group of friends on Saturday.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: You know, we celebrate Good Friday, which again it wasn't good for Jesus because he was crucified, good for us.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: And then the celebration of the resurrection, but s the silence of Saturday, you know, to think about the disciples and you know, obviously they already doubted because they abandoned Jesus, in spite of seeing his miracles and listening to his teachings.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: You know, they thought he was dead.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: But the silence of Saturday of, you know, we tend to have an idea of what was happening with Jesus, but the reality was God was silent.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: There's moments in our life when God is silent.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: So for me, I was I spent a lot of time on Saturday just thinking, man, there's there's moments God's silent, but he's still working.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: He still has a plan and still has a victory for us.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: We can be patient and trust.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: So we had a conversation on Friday that I want to lean into.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Um and we started talking about being thirsty.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but not but here's the good news.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: It came back.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I didn't realize it, but they brought it back.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: But back in 1994, um, the advertising slogan for Sprite was obey your thirst.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I know I remember it.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Um I grew up in the 90s.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you remember it, but I found out they just relaunched it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I didn't realize it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I'm not really a Sprite fan.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Actually, I thought it was Mountain Dew and it's Sprite.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: So obey your thirst.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Um it's funny.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: LeBron had Sprite as a a sponsor for a long time, Obey Your Thirst.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm picturing LeBron in a commercial doing obey your thirst.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna have to check that out because that's the same.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I feel like you're gonna need to YouTube all those commercials to like support him.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: I'm a slight fan, just hometown.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: But you know, it's really it's a it's a cultural message, obey your thirst.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, Sprite wants to sell Sprite and wants you to obey your thirst and drink their Sprite so they can make money.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: But this is really a message of life, you know, that the culture wants us to live by, that really our spiritual enemy wants, hey, like just whatever you're thirsty for, whatever you're like just man, just go with the flow, just follow your thirst, follow your desires.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, I don't I don't know.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I don't think that's always a good idea to just go with the flow and you know, eat whatever we're hungry for and obey our thirst.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And I like that is the trap because Sprite, specifically to stay in the metaphor, it does make it a thirst-quenching soda, but it always makes you dehydrated still, because it's still pop.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: There was a time, so this is uh off topic.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: You can't say pop, real quick.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, sorry.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: We're from the north.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: But we're from the north.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: We're both from the Midwest.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So uh soda.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Uh Cola.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Um so during I played soccer, and so during the summer, during soccer practices, I always didn't drink soda.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: I was like, I won't drink soda during soccer season.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: It was like a small thing.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I tried to stay healthy.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: But I would always go to Sonic like four times a week and get a cherry limeade.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And after two years of doing this, someone finally told me that cherry limeades were made with Sprite, and I realized I've been breaking my commitment for years because it doesn't really seem like a soda.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And so it tries to trick you.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And digging into that metaphor more, I think there are so many things that were like, this actually does like like fill that, but I'm like, I'm not saying no to the bad stuff.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Like I'm only obeying thirst, like in this, in this category.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I'm not, I'm not drinking Dr.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's a soda.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: But I'm like, you know, it's a limeade, it's it's not a big deal.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: But it's like you're still obeying a craving instead of just drinking water and electrolytes, like you know you're supposed to, like you know what's actually going to quench it, but you're like, but this one tastes a little better, and it still kind of quenches it.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And I think that's kind of another way to look at the way a lot of us Christians do, because most of us Christians aren't egregiously sinning and these things we know are terrible.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: We find loopholes of things that are adjacent and find ways to obey our thirst in moderation or in control.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And that's kind of what I think of, because that's my experience with Sprite.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, I just got to go a step further.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you heard, but Gatorade, you know, I mean, that was announced for years in sports.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Like that's what you drink when you are thirsty.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And I think it was the sodium.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: There was so much sodium in it that it actually made you more thirsty, which you know, you have to realize Gatorade knew that.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: They knew that they're selling it, yeah, exactly.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: But again, it goes back to the world we live in, our lives.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Um, there's things we're thirsty for, and I think God has given us some desires, some cravings, some hunger, some God has given us some thirst.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: We're all thirsty.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, we look at the garden, God again, he's given us the thirst to for water, hunger, intimacy, friendship, purpose, you know, success, all those things come from God.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: But we have a way of having some other thirsts that we shouldn't satisfy.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, to to lust and to, you know, want to sleep with people we're not married with and to want to chase success at the cost of our integrity or ethics.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: And so thirst is a real thing that all of us have.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Thirst isn't a bad thing.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Um, just sometimes what we choose to satisfy that thirst with is what gets us off the rails.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, so again, this isn't just a this isn't a campaign slogan.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: This isn't a, you know, we're not trying to sell drinks, we're trying to talk about what does it mean to follow Jesus, and it's obeying the right thirst.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: And I think that was helpful as on Good Friday, that was really a lot of what you spoke about.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And I liked the connection that you made to the idea of like a soul thirst.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: And so I'd kind of like you to talk about that a little bit more because you even went into more detail about like, you know, we were created to be contributors and to work.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: We were created for intimacy.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: All those desires are good, holy thirsts that God put in us, but they can become unhealthy thirsts or they can become controlling.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: So can you kind of give people a little recap of maybe that angle of that soul thirst and when those thirsts get out of bounds or get out of control?
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, again, because God created in us, the again, the best description is just a thirst, a desire.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Um but the challenge is again, sometimes we we make trade-offs.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: We again, man, to think of my wife.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: I have a lifelong covenant with her.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: And there's lots of men, lots of women who trade off a lifelong covenant for a one-night stand.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: And so they see this person, they work with this person, they bump into this person they used to date, and man, they're they get into fantasy mode and they get into I would I wonder what it'd be like to be with them.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: And they give into that thirst, that unhealthy, really ungodly thirst, and they trade off one thirst for another, one that hurts them instead of one helping them.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: And so there are soul thirsts in us, things that God has put innately on the inside of us.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Again, intimacy.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: But how do you fulfill intimacy?
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, people do it healthy ways, people do it in unhealthy ways.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Food, like God, we need food to live.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Um, but are you gonna have something that's healthy?
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Like, are you gonna have chicken and broccoli?
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Not that you have to have that, but if you're eating five guys' burgers and fries every night, you know, you're compromising your health.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And so again, the thirst is from God, but how do we satisfy that thirst?
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: And so the way I said it was we all have a cursed thirst.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: You know, so it's not just a thirst, but because of the fall where all of us have been impacted by sin, those saddest those desires have gotten twisted.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And um, I think we'll find we're probably in the most challenging seasons of our life when we're following the wrong thirst or satisfying it the wrong way.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: And I I I really find that helpful because I also think that helps make a transition with the story of the cross, which, you know, I'm I I could be complicit in this because I help teach children, you know, the good news.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: And you're trying to make it something they can grasp, you're like, hey, God wants you to be with him forever in heaven.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And so ask Jesus into your heart, and then you get to be with him in heaven forever.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: You don't have to go to hell.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Like we're trying to convey this, and then sometimes I think that if we don't um help grow on that, we even become adults that go, hey, the cross is about my eternity.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: And so you're going, well, what does that do for my thirst?
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And I think that's the connection that I loved that you made with this idea of thirst is thirst is a a human-earth experience.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: So if if Jesus came to redeem that cursed thirst, what does that look like in our daily life?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: What is that thirst satisfaction?
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: How does that dynamic work tomorrow?
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: So again, it's it's a play on words, but you know, I you know, it's getting us back to our first thirst.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Our first thirst is really uh relationship with the God who made us, who created us to be in relationship with Him.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, Pastor Osiman, you're so right.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: There's unfortunately so many people who, when they talk about God's promises and what it means to really experience, it's gonna be one day in heaven, like one day when we get there, everything's gonna be perfect.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: And we live in a fallen world, so everything's not gonna be perfect now, but you can have a satisfying, fulfilling relationship with God right now.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: And the way Jesus said it was seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then all those other things, all the other desires, all the other satisfactions that you are um passions you have are gonna be satisfied in Jesus, but it's gotta start with knowing we can be in a life-giving relationship with our Creator now because of Jesus.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: Um so we don't have to wait till we get to heaven.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: God can satisfy your desires right now today.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I I I love that it came down to that main point, the first thirst.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: And it's kind of there's this foundational thing that needs to be met.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: And that's really what Jesus died for was to quench that first thirst of getting back to the relationship that God created us for.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: And then from there, it's a process to work through the temptations of the cursed thirsts.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: I feel I'm gonna say it wrong.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to say it too much, not to say it too many times.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: But that idea of going, hey, like then there's a tension and there's a growth and there's a healing and there's a process, but like if you lose sight of that first thing that's supposed to get quenched, you're going to look to all of those other things to quench it if you're not having water.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Like this happens to me.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: I know I've seen on the internet, so it's like a thing, but like anytime my wife is like, Oh, I don't feel good, or like, oh, I have a headache, or oh, I'm like, I don't know, my stomach.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: I'm like, how much water have you drank?
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: And the answer every time is two iced coffees.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: And I was like, that's not water.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: You need water.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm always like, and she gets annoyed, she goes, Don't even tell me to drink water.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Like, I know I didn't drink enough water.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, well, that that's kind of what that is.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: That first thirst.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: It's like, well, if you didn't do water, what are we having a conversation about?
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: And it's like, if you didn't go to God and ask him to satisfy that deepest need, what are we even talking about?
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know if I can fix your marriage if you're not willing to go to God first to figure out the root of why this is even a problem for you and why this is even a temptation, it's because there's something so much deeper, and it is that first thirst.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, for you to say that, I mean, I, you know, I find in my own life sometimes that whatever the desire is, you know, to be a good leader, to, you know, be a good husband, to whatever, excel in something, I find myself relying on my own strength or trying to figure out my own way and relying on my thirst satisfied by me first rather than going to God.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And so again, I'm saying we're using the phrases, you know, first thirst and cursed thirst.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: The biblical term for that is, you know, the lust of our flesh and um, you know, so the things of the spirit and the things of the flesh, which the Bible says, man, they wrestle back and forth.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: And it all comes back to are you connected to Christ?
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Because He's the only one who can satisfy.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: That's what he told the woman at the well.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: He said, Hey, you drink from the water from this well, you're just gonna keep getting thirsty.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: If you drink from the wells of this world, you're just gonna keep you can sleep with as many people as you want, you can make as much money as you want, you can earn as many degrees as you want, and you're still gonna be thirsty until you take a drink of living water, until you come back to the first thirst.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: You're just gonna keep getting thirsty.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Um and I, you know, so it's not just a challenge for unsaved people, for believers, we need to keep coming back to Christ, the only one who can really satisfy us.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And I think I think facing the reality of Jesus' work on the cross quenches that first thirst.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: It helps us to be in right relationship with God.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: And then you kind of went into that, and I'd like you to go into it a little bit more about that tension.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Because I think often they'll look at somebody and be like, Well, yeah, Pastor Steve's not cheating on his wife, and you're like, But I have other temptations, you know, like sure I'm not having the same, but there's always a tension.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter how long you've been following Jesus, it doesn't matter how much progress the Holy Spirit's made on your heart, there are different temptations and different things.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: So how can how can we be encouraged and aware of that tension, that back and forth between the lustful desire of the flesh and the desires of the spirit?
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Because you talked about that a little bit on Friday, but I'd like you to talk about it more.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's I mean, it starts with, you know, Jesus, he said seven things on the cross, and the Bible records these in the gospels, and they might seem weird or irrelevant, but they're important, especially in the order that he tells them.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: And um we get to several of the last ones, and one of the things he says is, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: So on the cross, the eternal Son of God felt being forsaken by his heavenly father.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: So God the Son was separated from God the Father.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: That's a whole ontological conversation, it's big, but that's what Jesus expressed.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Because he experienced our separation.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Well, we're separated because of our sin.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: He was always connected for all eternity to the Father in the Trinity.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: But because he took on our sin, that's what separated us from the Father.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: He has separated God's Son from the Father.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: And so that's when he went on and said, You know what?
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I thirst.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: So his thirst was an expression of separation.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: And so I would say for everybody watching this, that probably some of the thing you're looking to satisfy or the desire you're looking to fulfill, it's because you're looking everywhere but Christ.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: And um so he experienced our separation so we could experience his connection.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: And I said it this way, he experienced our um our thirst, he experienced our you know, um, lack of desire, so we could experience his his satisfaction.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, I would say for anybody watching this that if you find yourself trying to be fulfilled in something other than God, or at least starting there, he's the first thirst.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: You're never gonna be satisfied.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: And you can, no matter who you are.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Jesus went to the cross for you and he died for you, he experienced your thirst so you could experience his satisfaction.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: And so the next thing Jesus said after that is it's finished.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: And so it was a simple imitation of saying, Hey, I did what needed to be done so you can come to the Father, so you can be fully satisfied.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So all the other things that you're trying to satisfy your life with, all of your other desires, they can be met in me.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: And but I don't think we can drink, you know, just one time we gotta we have to keep coming back to the Father and acknowledging that's the place where we find fulfillment and satisfaction.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: And I don't always do it right, and sometimes I go and drink from other wells, but it's the reminder that Jesus did it all on Good Friday, and his exclamation point was Resurrection Sunday.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: And so there is a well available, there's water available, there's spiritual drink available to satisfy us if we want it.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: It's found in Jesus.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: That's our first thirst.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: And and that I think is the whole tension of it is going, okay, which one am I gonna drink of today?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Because they're both they're both thirsty.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: There's the thirst that I know deep down, like I know deep down if I have eggs for breakfast, it will satisfy me more than if I have a cinnamon roll.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: But cinnamon rolls are so much better than eggs.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: So it's like Especially a hot one.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Have you had the ones at Cracker Barrel?
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: They're actually pretty solid.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Um so you have this tension of like, and cinnamon rolls aren't necessarily always evil, like, but I often let cinnamon rolls win.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: So like, how do you even go?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: I know what it is that is gonna satisfy that first thirst, but I also know that there are other healthy thirsts in me, but if they get priority, it can create some kind of imbalance in in your life.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: You know, man, there's a there's a great story.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: It's an old illustration.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Lots of people maybe have heard it.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Um this is a story of a young kid who's wrestling with anger.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: He's had a bad day at school, he comes home and his grandfather's there, and his grandfather asked me, Hey, what's going on?
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: He's like, Man, I'm just so angry at this kid and frustrated, and you know, I'm not sure what to do with it.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: And his grandfather said, He said, You know, I can relate.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: He said, I have two wolves on the inside of me.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And his grandson said, What do you mean?
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: He said, I have a dark wolf that is wants frustration and anger and lust and impatience.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: He said, But I have this other wolf, the white wolf.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: And the white wolf is all about humility and joy and peace and love.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And I have those two fighting on the inside of me.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: And the grandson said, Well, you know, grandfather, which wolf wins the fight?
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: And he said, Whichever one I feed.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: And so I think once we recognize that our our thirst is satisfied in God, we go back to our first thirst.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Again, we're gonna experience some thirsts that are unhealthy, some desires that are gonna distract us, some passions that are gonna pull us away from Christ.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: And we're always gonna wrestle with those.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: That's part of our human journey.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: But recognizing, man, if we'll continue to turn to God, turn to his word, spend time with him in prayer, feed our relationship with God, that's that's we're gonna get fully satisfied.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: So you're never gonna overcome the fight here.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Jesus overcame it, so we're ultimately victorious.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: And um just from my hey, so I would say to everybody, hey, uh, you know, quench your thirst, fulfill your desires, but do it in Jesus first, you know.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Um don't do it Sprite's way, do it Jesus' way.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for real.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: So I I love that.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Whatever, whatever you feed is what's gonna get stronger.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: And I think that's that's the choice we have to wake up and and make every day.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: And that's yeah, that's helpful.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: So, you know, God's saying the same thing as the world saying, obey your thirst, it's just which one are you gonna obey?
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna obey Jesus because he's the one who can satisfy.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: All right, well, hey, thanks for leaning in.
