- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five withst stalking parts
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they all went whizz. So, yeah, it's too bad,
- 0:11Speaker 1: But what did you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five whistles.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I hate that sports, I hate it parts.
- 0:23Speaker 3: We have a playoff one too, What do you mean
- 0:26Speaker 3: remember how he did a bunch of different ones talking playoffs.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we should just go back to the
- 0:32Speaker 1: football one. Mike.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Okay, I just hate it so much. It's like a
- 0:36Speaker 4: pig or something like. It's like a weird animal.
- 0:39Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Thank you?
- 0:40Speaker 4: Uh?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Coming up, we got LeVar Arrington.
- 0:42Speaker 4: He's a former NFL All Pro linebacker, works at Fox
- 0:45Speaker 4: Sports Radio. He was the second overall pick in the
- 0:48Speaker 4: year two thousand. We talk about who the quarterback was
- 0:52Speaker 4: he hated playing against the most. He compares this certain
- 0:55Speaker 4: quarterback to a cyborg, which I thought was pretty funny.
- 0:58Speaker 4: But LaVar Arrington, we talking about draft and ask when
- 1:01Speaker 4: you feel rich first time? And you know it is
- 1:05Speaker 4: what it is? He went where he went? All right,
- 1:07Speaker 4: let's start the show. All right, there's your whistle and
- 1:10Speaker 4: we'll get to LeVar Arrington right after the tittle tattle.
- 1:13Speaker 4: So let's go with the Tittletotle first his name ever,
- 1:18Speaker 4: the Tittle Tattle.
- 1:23Speaker 3: With another NFL draft in the books, Where do you
- 1:26Speaker 3: think would be the best host city if you're to
- 1:28Speaker 3: attend a draft.
- 1:29Speaker 4: When it was in Nashville, it was so legit. There
- 1:31Speaker 4: were more people at this draft here in this town
- 1:33Speaker 4: than any of the draft they've ever had. I mean
- 1:35Speaker 4: it was wild. I mean all a Broadway. It was bonkers.
- 1:39Speaker 4: And I thought Kant City looked pretty good too. They
- 1:41Speaker 4: had a lot of people there, and I think because
- 1:43Speaker 4: there's not a lot to do in Kansas City as
- 1:46Speaker 4: compared to Los Angeles, New York, even Vegas, I think
- 1:53Speaker 4: the people showed up and it was really great representation.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Vegas be cool though too. I mean, I know they
- 1:59Speaker 1: go to Vegas maybe last year. Yeah, four, I'm gonna
- 2:02Speaker 1: go to Nashville.
- 2:03Speaker 4: But if we're gonna have to go cities that we're
- 2:05Speaker 4: not living in or they haven't had, I think it
- 2:08Speaker 4: would be cool to have an NFL draft and like
- 2:12Speaker 4: San Diego, weather's good.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Everybody likes to be there.
- 2:16Speaker 4: You can do a lot of outdoor like festivities that'd
- 2:20Speaker 4: be cool.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That'd be great. Or just pick a really small.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Town in a rural area and be like Wexico, Nebraska, Like.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That would be awesome.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Then the whole the whole town is like this is crazy,
- 2:31Speaker 4: we can't believe it's here, and you have like the
- 2:33Speaker 4: mayor of announce it like that will be legit. Mountain Pine,
- 2:35Speaker 4: Arkansas would freak the grab out. That would be awesome.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I think Nashville is the best draft I've ever seen,
- 2:40Speaker 4: and not because I live here and worked at for ABC,
- 2:43Speaker 4: but just because there was just so many people there
- 2:45Speaker 4: and I was just amazing that people were dressed up
- 2:47Speaker 4: like it's just people reading a card. People were dressed
- 2:49Speaker 4: up in full regelia for the New York Giants. Yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 4: it's pretty crazy.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Next question, after Curry's historic seven game or game seven
- 2:56Speaker 3: to fifty point performance, what's the most memorable single game
- 2:59Speaker 3: performance you've.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I was thinking about this as far as I don't know.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I've convinced myself that I watched Michael Jordan's flu game.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I've convinced myself that I was watching it live. Now
- 3:14Speaker 4: I might have been nineteen ninety seven Game five.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I feel like I was.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But you know, after you see something so many times
- 3:22Speaker 4: over and over again, you start to feel like maybe
- 3:23Speaker 4: I watched that live.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I don't know if I did.
- 3:26Speaker 4: If you asked me to put money on it, I
- 3:27Speaker 4: would say I did, but I would say that's probably
- 3:30Speaker 4: the most memorable game, just because the announcers were making
- 3:33Speaker 4: so much of it, and now the legend of it
- 3:35Speaker 4: has I mean, the Last Dance, A big part of
- 3:39Speaker 4: that is about that.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I feel like I've seen it, and I for sure
- 3:41Speaker 3: didn't watch it live. If I did, it was six,
- 3:43Speaker 3: so I was like, I don't remember this. It scored
- 3:44Speaker 3: thirty eight points in game five. But hasn't it come
- 3:46Speaker 3: out now that it's like bad pizza?
- 3:48Speaker 1: I think so? Didn't they talk about that in the
- 3:50Speaker 1: Last Dance? Yeah, like a group of guys delivered it.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like all weird and so it really
- 3:55Speaker 4: wasn't the flu, but it's the flu because they just
- 3:57Speaker 4: thought it was the flu that day, so it's.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Lived on regardless. He was sick.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all sweaty and clammy and like he still
- 4:06Speaker 4: was able to rock it. But I'd probably go that.
- 4:08Speaker 4: And I do think I was seventeenth, so I would
- 4:10Speaker 4: have watched that game, but I I don't remember. I
- 4:14Speaker 4: remember Jordan I was watching the game when he had
- 4:16Speaker 4: to step back against the Jazz or I may have
- 4:19Speaker 4: just seen that one so many times. I don't know
- 4:21Speaker 4: what I've seen. What I have it at this point,
- 4:22Speaker 4: that's crazy. I did look up some of the best
- 4:26Speaker 4: single game performances. There was a game Jerry Rice had
- 4:29Speaker 4: eleven catches and two hundred and fifteen yards in the
- 4:32Speaker 4: Super Bowl against the Bengals. Now I remember the Bengals lose.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I was so sad because I was a Bengals fan.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I know I watched the game. I don't remember this
- 4:39Speaker 4: about Jerry Rice because twenty three, I must have been young. Young.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I was the biggest Boomerasison fan because he was a
- 4:45Speaker 4: left handed quarterback, and that's what I was up until
- 4:47Speaker 4: like eighth grade, until I started to play wide receiver.
- 4:51Speaker 4: But I remember watching being so sad. But I do
- 4:53Speaker 4: not remember that stat line. But I'm gonna go the
- 4:55Speaker 4: Flu game because I watched it for sure. Maybe probably
- 5:01Speaker 4: not a right.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Next, Well, let's say we did in honor of two
- 5:04Speaker 3: all time greats with Steph and Lebron set the face off.
- 5:07Speaker 3: What's a playoff matchup you wish happened but never did
- 5:10Speaker 3: between two players or two teams.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I mean, Lebron and Kobe would have been cool. You know,
- 5:15Speaker 4: when I think about matchups, I always liked the Brady
- 5:18Speaker 4: Peyton Manning matchup, even though they always played in the
- 5:20Speaker 4: AFC Championship.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Mostly like that was a really cool.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I don't even know about rivalry, but it was just
- 5:27Speaker 4: a really cool matchup that I did like to see. Now,
- 5:30Speaker 4: Jordan and Kobe played each other, for sure, I know
- 5:35Speaker 4: they played each other at some point.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I've seen tape of it. Unless it didn't really happen.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know about the play oh, playoffs,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I'm saying each other. Yeah, yeah, sure played against each other.
- 5:48Speaker 4: H yeah, yeah, yeah, but probably Lebron and Kobe. I mean,
- 5:52Speaker 4: Brady and Breeze never played in the playoffs against each other.
- 5:56Speaker 4: But man, Steph, Steph is just a killer. I know
- 6:00Speaker 4: we're not talking about Game seven right now. Probably get
- 6:03Speaker 4: to it later, but Steph was just a killer. But
- 6:05Speaker 4: I'm gonna go. Lebron and Kobe probably playoff all right.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Next one.
- 6:09Speaker 3: After a major, major disappointment from the Bruins, setting an
- 6:12Speaker 3: all time record with wins in the regular season and
- 6:14Speaker 3: letting down round one, they lost last night.
- 6:16Speaker 1: What was the most memorable letdown.
- 6:18Speaker 4: For a team when the Patriots didn't win the Super
- 6:21Speaker 4: Bowl after one undefeated. That's letdown, probably more for you
- 6:25Speaker 4: than me.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It still hurts.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah, But would you rather than lost earlier, like in
- 6:31Speaker 4: the playoffs? Would you have rather than been eliminated earlier
- 6:34Speaker 4: than to make it to the super Bowl and lose
- 6:35Speaker 4: being undefeated?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Absolutely not, Like this one for the Bruins is more disappointing.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Maybe it's a living in the now moment, but the
- 6:42Speaker 3: Patriots at least went to the Super Bowl.
- 6:44Speaker 1: What about the Yankees? They were at three to zero.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It was beautiful. I was on the Red Sox. Beautiful.
- 6:49Speaker 1: That's a good one. See you get you lost one,
- 6:50Speaker 1: you got one.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, Boston's in all of these hey, winning or losing.
- 6:56Speaker 5: Wow.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yeah, So I'm gonna go that page season was pretty big.
- 7:01Speaker 4: And then because I think that was the only time
- 7:03Speaker 4: that had ever happened, was being down three to zero
- 7:07Speaker 4: and the Red Sox come back and went all four
- 7:09Speaker 4: games in a row.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. All right, that's a tittle tittle, thank you,
- 7:13Speaker 1: his name.
- 7:14Speaker 5: After works the tittletown.
- 7:20Speaker 4: All Right, We're gonna go over and talk with NFL.
- 7:22Speaker 4: All pro Penn State legend LeVar Arrington. He was the
- 7:25Speaker 4: number two overall pick back in two thousand by Washington.
- 7:28Speaker 4: He won the Buckets Award at Penn State. Now in
- 7:30Speaker 4: the College Football Hall of Fame. Who was drafted at
- 7:33Speaker 4: one Kevin.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It was his own teammate, defensive end Courtney Brown went
- 7:37Speaker 3: to the brownsland.
- 7:40Speaker 4: For two reasons. That is ironic and weird. One Brown
- 7:44Speaker 4: to Brown in two I don't even I mean he
- 7:47Speaker 4: went number one. I don't even remember him, do you?
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh?
- 7:50Speaker 1: No, he and he only played five seasons.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm not gonna act like I know
- 7:53Speaker 4: who he is. I don't remember him.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I don't even know the name.
- 7:56Speaker 4: You can find LeVar on Twitter at LeVar Arrington. Checkout
- 7:59Speaker 4: on his work. He's got his podcast network called Up
- 8:01Speaker 4: on Game. They have close to fifteen shows on the
- 8:03Speaker 4: network and he's got a new show with Plexico Buris
- 8:05Speaker 4: and TJ.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Who's Manjada? I say that right, Yeah, Who's Manjada?
- 8:10Speaker 5: Who's Majada?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Whatever?
- 8:12Speaker 4: Chad Johnson and Who's Manzada? Were awesome? I said it
- 8:14Speaker 4: there here you go, Dang, Carson Palmer, Yeah, yeah, man
- 8:20Speaker 4: Cedric Benson, Yeah, Cedric Benson from Texas anyway, from Tech.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I like that Bengals team. That's a good Bengals team.
- 8:25Speaker 2: All right?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Here he is, LeVar Arrington, Hey, Lvar, what's happening?
- 8:29Speaker 2: What's going on? Boss? Hey?
- 8:30Speaker 1: I appreciate you being here. Were you covering the draft
- 8:33Speaker 1: all weekend?
- 8:34Speaker 2: Just day one? First round? You know?
- 8:36Speaker 4: When I watched the draft, my wife doesn't understand why
- 8:39Speaker 4: I will sit there for three hours and watch round
- 8:41Speaker 4: one when it's only like thirty picks. He's like, what
- 8:43Speaker 4: are you watching? Watching a man walk up there with
- 8:45Speaker 4: a card and read somebody's name. Labary, Can you tell
- 8:47Speaker 4: me why it's so interesting to watch the draft? Because
- 8:50Speaker 4: I'm I'm in. I mean, I was in and you
- 8:53Speaker 4: couldn't peel me away from it.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I mean, I gotta be honest. I tend to say
- 8:56Speaker 2: with your wife a little.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Bit, Bobby, But I will say this, I think the
- 9:03Speaker 6: intrigue and the excitement of guys who had worked hard
- 9:08Speaker 6: to achieve and accomplish at a level where they're actually
- 9:13Speaker 6: able to reap the.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Benefit of it. It's not very often that you see
- 9:18Speaker 2: someone who works to get to a point of where
- 9:21Speaker 2: they get paid for what they do. And it gets
- 9:24Speaker 2: announced on national television, right, everybody in the world gets
- 9:27Speaker 2: to see you get hired by your new employer. So
- 9:32Speaker 2: I think the storylines of every single guy is unique
- 9:37Speaker 2: and specific to them. And so if that's what you're into,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I mean I always say football, and well, football really
- 9:45Speaker 2: is like the greatest reality TV show going from day one.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess too.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I was into just figuring out where the quarterbacks were
- 9:53Speaker 4: going to go because we knew Bryce s Young was
- 9:56Speaker 4: going to go one and we felt we did. And
- 9:58Speaker 4: then it was with the Texans even take a cour
- 10:00Speaker 4: And then it was where with Stroud fall if they didn't,
- 10:03Speaker 4: where with Levis? Where would Anthony Richardson end up? Will
- 10:07Speaker 4: maybe the quarterback?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Intrigued with what had me so much this year? And so.
- 10:13Speaker 4: A lot's been made of Bryce's height and weight and
- 10:16Speaker 4: kind of mostly the weight and you know, all the
- 10:19Speaker 4: punishment he's going to take, Like, what would you tell
- 10:21Speaker 4: him if you had a few minutes to sit with
- 10:23Speaker 4: him about what's going to happen this year?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Well, I mean the game has changed. So, I mean
- 10:29Speaker 2: the reason why height and weight has mattered so much
- 10:32Speaker 2: is the pure physicality and the brutality of football. You know,
- 10:37Speaker 2: that's kind of been minimized. Guys aren't getting slammed around
- 10:41Speaker 2: the way that they used to. I mean, we saw
- 10:42Speaker 2: two it get slammed around a little bit a couple guys,
- 10:45Speaker 2: but you know, for the most part, you can avoid
- 10:48Speaker 2: a lot of contact that is really debilitating to you
- 10:53Speaker 2: as as a player and as a quarterback. The rules
- 10:55Speaker 2: are are really put in place to protect you from
- 10:58Speaker 2: being hurt. So now you're running an offense. The offensive
- 11:04Speaker 2: schemes these days are they're called RPO offenses, Bobby, and
- 11:09Speaker 2: the RPO is basically you line the quarterback maybe five
- 11:14Speaker 2: six seven yards away from from the center, and you're
- 11:19Speaker 2: snapping the ball almost like a shotgun, and it's a rerun.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It's a rerun type of deal. So not to get
- 11:25Speaker 2: too deep into the football weeds, but you're able to
- 11:28Speaker 2: look at the defense, see how the defense is playing
- 11:31Speaker 2: you as an offense, and if it looks like they're
- 11:34Speaker 2: playing pass, you hand the ball off and let the
- 11:36Speaker 2: running back run. If they look like they're playing the run,
- 11:39Speaker 2: then you fake the handoff and you create a little
- 11:42Speaker 2: bit of space and you throw the read option for
- 11:46Speaker 2: the past. So being tall doesn't really matter anymore because
- 11:50Speaker 2: you're not standing under center. If I'm five to ten
- 11:52Speaker 2: and I'm standing under a guy that's six foot four,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and then my guards are six foot five and my
- 11:58Speaker 2: tackles are six foot six, that's a that's a bunch
- 12:01Speaker 2: of mountains in front of you, of some trees you
- 12:03Speaker 2: can't see. But if you're five six yards seven yards
- 12:07Speaker 2: off the ball and you're dropping three or four yards
- 12:09Speaker 2: off of that, it really doesn't matter how tall you are, honestly,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and to be quite frank, it doesn't matter how much
- 12:15Speaker 2: you weigh either, just you have enough time to get
- 12:17Speaker 2: rid of the ball and throw the ball away before
- 12:20Speaker 2: you're getting hit by guys from the defense.
- 12:22Speaker 4: As far as our pos go, very familiar, because I'm
- 12:25Speaker 4: quite the Madden player, LeVar, that's right all the time,
- 12:28Speaker 4: that's right, option, that's it. I'm maddening, that's right. So okay,
- 12:33Speaker 4: let me throw this at you. Being a former linebacker,
- 12:36Speaker 4: would it be advantageous to a small quarterback because the
- 12:40Speaker 4: linebacker maybe can't see him as well?
- 12:41Speaker 2: Well?
- 12:42Speaker 4: Worried about the quarterback not being able to see over
- 12:44Speaker 4: the line.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But what about the other way?
- 12:46Speaker 4: What about the linebackers trying to find that small quarterback.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Is there anything to that?
- 12:51Speaker 2: I think the Reeds still remain the same. I think
- 12:54Speaker 2: you've studied the tendencies of a team. As a linebacker,
- 12:58Speaker 2: we have keys, so I read through the center, the guard,
- 13:03Speaker 2: to the backs, and the quarterback. So whatever those guards
- 13:06Speaker 2: are doing, if you see a guard pull back, then
- 13:11Speaker 2: you're ultimately going to you're going to get a read
- 13:15Speaker 2: that that basically takes you to the ball or it's
- 13:20Speaker 2: going to be a pass. All right. If if a
- 13:22Speaker 2: lineman pulls back and doesn't go forward or to the side, uh,
- 13:27Speaker 2: you're you're you're having a situation where it's probably going
- 13:31Speaker 2: to be a pass. If they go side or come forward.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's either a quick pass or it's a run. It's
- 13:40Speaker 2: either a quarterback keeper, or it's a handoff of some sort,
- 13:45Speaker 2: or it's a screenplay. It's going to be quick. The
- 13:48Speaker 2: ball is going to come out quick. So as a linebacker,
- 13:51Speaker 2: our keys still remain the same in terms of how
- 13:54Speaker 2: we read the offense.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Were there ever such obvious tells by watching tape that
- 14:00Speaker 4: you knew even before the play started because they didn't
- 14:03Speaker 4: self scout themselves, and you're like, oh, for sure, I
- 14:06Speaker 4: know this play I've seen at seventy Was it ever
- 14:08Speaker 4: that easy? Where you just go, well, he's lined up
- 14:10Speaker 4: here and this direction, go get it.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Have you ever watched my college highlights.
- 14:15Speaker 1: At Penn Stay.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I've seen like a YouTube greatest hits, But that doesn't
- 14:18Speaker 4: count because it's like you were. You were a man
- 14:21Speaker 4: amongst boys that look like they're more so than you're
- 14:23Speaker 4: predicting plays.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's that's that's that's film study. That's film study. When
- 14:27Speaker 2: you're when you're leaping over lines and and hurdling, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 2: guys that are trying to block you, that's because you've
- 14:34Speaker 2: studied them so much and you found that tendency and
- 14:38Speaker 2: you've locked in on a tendency. If a guy drops
- 14:40Speaker 2: his head his shoulders following, that means he's trying to
- 14:44Speaker 2: chop block you. So you could leap frauding. You know,
- 14:46Speaker 2: you make yourself look really good on stuff that you
- 14:48Speaker 2: do and look look real cool on the film and
- 14:51Speaker 2: the footage that goes to like all of the sports outlets,
- 14:53Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Bobby. So Yet you absolutely
- 14:58Speaker 2: can study not only what the team's personality is as
- 15:02Speaker 2: to what they do and downs and distances, but you
- 15:04Speaker 2: can also study the players themselves specifically in terms of
- 15:09Speaker 2: what it is that they're going to do. So absolutely,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and that's both sides. You got a self scout defensively
- 15:16Speaker 2: by position, you got to do it offensively as well.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm assuming that Bryce Young and c J.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Stroud starts when the season starts, both for Carolina and
- 15:25Speaker 4: for the Texans. As far as Will Levis goes, obviously,
- 15:30Speaker 4: which is where we are in Tennessee, we got a
- 15:32Speaker 4: quarterback that's got one year left on his deal and
- 15:35Speaker 4: Anthony Richson going to the Colts. Do you think Anthony
- 15:38Speaker 4: Richardson starts right away in Indianapolis?
- 15:43Speaker 1: But who else do they have?
- 15:45Speaker 2: I would assume that if Anthony Richardson can learn the
- 15:51Speaker 2: offense and can acclimate and integrate into the locker room
- 15:56Speaker 2: quickly enough that he will have an opportunity to be
- 15:59Speaker 2: a starter for the Colts. As for Will Levis, I mean,
- 16:04Speaker 2: you got to believe he might be the steal of
- 16:06Speaker 2: the draft the way he slid and fell down so far.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And it's interesting because you guys took Malik Willis last year,
- 16:15Speaker 2: so you draft a pretty good quarterback from Liberty last year,
- 16:19Speaker 2: you get Will Levis this year and you got Ryan
- 16:21Speaker 2: Tannanhill that has one more year, you'd assume it's still
- 16:25Speaker 2: Tannehill's job. But I would not be surprised if, under
- 16:30Speaker 2: the circumstances that Will Levis speeds up the process for
- 16:35Speaker 2: him to actually be able to challenge for the starting
- 16:38Speaker 2: job as well. In Tennessee.
- 16:39Speaker 4: What do you make of the reports coming out that
- 16:42Speaker 4: Will Levis bombed his interviews with teams?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Like exactly, how exactly can you bomb an interview?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, you hear mixed things there. There was
- 16:52Speaker 2: I guess the reports that a lot of people weren't
- 16:53Speaker 2: in love with Will Levis coming out of the interviews
- 16:57Speaker 2: and different things like that. Why that is? You know,
- 17:00Speaker 2: I don't know. I really don't. I would find it
- 17:04Speaker 2: very difficult to turn somebody off in an interview, right, Like,
- 17:08Speaker 2: at this point, you've done everything you've needed to do,
- 17:11Speaker 2: You're being invited to come spend time. What exactly are
- 17:15Speaker 2: you going to say and do? Like? Are you passing
- 17:18Speaker 2: gas while you're there? It's real funky? Like did you
- 17:22Speaker 2: not brush your teeth? Do you have a whole bunch
- 17:24Speaker 2: of food stuck in your gums? Like I'm trying to
- 17:27Speaker 2: think of what would be the things that would be
- 17:29Speaker 2: so offensive in a football arena. By the way, we're
- 17:32Speaker 2: not talking politics, you know what I mean. We're not
- 17:34Speaker 2: in the oval office and you're talking about trying to
- 17:37Speaker 2: be the you know, the person that aid and the
- 17:40Speaker 2: assistant to the president or something like that. We're talking
- 17:42Speaker 2: about being a football player. I'm not one hundred percent
- 17:47Speaker 2: certain with all of the things that go along with
- 17:51Speaker 2: football and the etiquettes that are or lack thereof. I'm
- 17:55Speaker 2: not one hundred percent sure how you turn people off
- 17:59Speaker 2: in an interview other than just being purely ignorant in
- 18:03Speaker 2: how it is you go about your business. And I
- 18:05Speaker 2: know Will Levis personally, he's not the ignorant type of dude.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Like he's not going in there, he's not being you know, uh,
- 18:13Speaker 2: totally disregarding, you know what what the scenario is that's
- 18:18Speaker 2: in front of him. So I don't know what that
- 18:21Speaker 2: report means. I don't know what he had to have
- 18:23Speaker 2: done for that to be the way he was perceived.
- 18:27Speaker 2: But I did hear those same reports like people weren't
- 18:30Speaker 2: in love with them when when they had their their
- 18:32Speaker 2: interviews with them.
- 18:33Speaker 4: You were talking about John Robinson and how you compared
- 18:36Speaker 4: to thermist Thermat Thomas from Buffalo.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Why is that? What's the similarities there?
- 18:41Speaker 2: You know, I just think the way they're built, the
- 18:44Speaker 2: way the way they move, Like Therman Thomas was a very,
- 18:49Speaker 2: very smooth but a very squatty running back. Even Barry
- 18:55Speaker 2: Sanders like right, And they both came out of Oklahoma State.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I mean, so they're both big twelve, big twelve schools
- 19:03Speaker 2: that we're talking about. But Vijon just has that type
- 19:05Speaker 2: of movement where to me, it's squatty, but it's quick,
- 19:11Speaker 2: it's decisive, it's on balance, and and he's very versatile,
- 19:17Speaker 2: great vision, his change of direction ability is phenomenal. And
- 19:23Speaker 2: just watching them, he just look like a young Thurman Thomas,
- 19:26Speaker 2: you know. And I'm a I'm a I'm a football geek,
- 19:28Speaker 2: I'm a fan of the history of the game. So
- 19:31Speaker 2: a lot of times I really take pride and being
- 19:34Speaker 2: able to kind of relate what new talent looks like
- 19:38Speaker 2: in comparison to older talent. And so Thurman goes back
- 19:41Speaker 2: a little ways back into the nineties and even into
- 19:44Speaker 2: the late eighties. But I just saw that as as
- 19:48Speaker 2: definitely maybe an appropriate comparison to the type of game
- 19:52Speaker 2: that Jon has.
- 19:53Speaker 1: You were drafted second overall on year two thousand. How
- 19:56Speaker 1: long it tis?
- 19:56Speaker 2: That's special, MATC. Yeah, special, it's very special.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's very cool.
- 20:01Speaker 2: How long time you that's what I got. That's that's
- 20:02Speaker 2: why I got that nice little, uh, you know, stairwell
- 20:05Speaker 2: casing right there. You see that?
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I felt that.
- 20:07Speaker 4: You know, you got a lot of money when you
- 20:09Speaker 4: got a casing on a stairwell, not just a rail, you.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Know, like a design like that. How long until you
- 20:15Speaker 1: get a paycheck?
- 20:16Speaker 4: What you mean when you get drafted like here, he
- 20:19Speaker 4: is the number two overall pick at the time.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You gotta sign. Well, see that's the thing. You got
- 20:23Speaker 2: to be signed. So you're drafted and they said that
- 20:26Speaker 2: they they are taking you, but you still got to
- 20:29Speaker 2: get a contract done. When you go number one, you
- 20:32Speaker 2: go number two, you can get started on that process immediately.
- 20:34Speaker 2: That could actually happen before they even call your name.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Sometimes it drags out and they call guys holdouts, but
- 20:41Speaker 2: you really, in theory and by definition, you can't really
- 20:44Speaker 2: be a holdout because you haven't been officially hired. Right,
- 20:47Speaker 2: you got to sign the paperwork. You guys got to
- 20:50Speaker 2: agree to the deal. And now you become an employee
- 20:52Speaker 2: of the team. So sometimes it gets done quick, sometimes
- 20:55Speaker 2: it doesn't. I mean now with the slidding of contract
- 21:00Speaker 2: coming into the league, it's pretty easy, like you're not
- 21:03Speaker 2: you're not going to have guys holding out. There's there's
- 21:07Speaker 2: like a few things that you have to talk through
- 21:10Speaker 2: in terms of guarantees and options and stuff like that,
- 21:12Speaker 2: but pretty much the contract is pretty much the contract
- 21:15Speaker 2: for rookies coming into the draft, which it was a
- 21:18Speaker 2: little different in two thousand when I came in, we
- 21:20Speaker 2: we actually negotiated a deal and you could actually get
- 21:24Speaker 2: a really really favorable and big deal before having ever
- 21:28Speaker 2: played a down of football in the league. So it
- 21:31Speaker 2: depends you could get it as early as the night
- 21:34Speaker 2: before the draft, before they call your name. If you're
- 21:36Speaker 2: the number one guy, you could have your deal done
- 21:39Speaker 2: before you they even call your name, or it could
- 21:42Speaker 2: go well into camp before you get a deal done.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But how long until you felt like you were rich?
- 21:47Speaker 2: I was never poor though, yeah, but rich.
- 21:49Speaker 4: And poor and not poor two different things. You don't
- 21:52Speaker 4: you don't get a casing like.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That wealthy I'll say, okay, go ahead.
- 21:55Speaker 2: When did I feel wealthy? Probably I don't know. I
- 22:01Speaker 2: don't think I've ever felt wealthy. I don't think i've ever.
- 22:04Speaker 1: First first time. I'm feeling pretty good, you're.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Feeling I felt. I felt good. You know, I'll tell
- 22:11Speaker 2: you I probably only looked at three or four texts
- 22:15Speaker 2: in my entire career. Man Like, I just I made
- 22:19Speaker 2: sure my money was was in in the proper places,
- 22:23Speaker 2: but I just never was. It never was big to
- 22:26Speaker 2: me to obsess over it, you know. I felt like,
- 22:30Speaker 2: you did it for so long to get to where
- 22:32Speaker 2: you can make that that type of you know, that
- 22:35Speaker 2: type of wage doing what it is that you love
- 22:38Speaker 2: to do. So once I made it, I kind of
- 22:40Speaker 2: felt like if I got too deep into that aspect
- 22:42Speaker 2: of it, I might lose the essence of who I was.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So I still stayed hungry, like I had never even
- 22:48Speaker 2: accomplished or achieved anything, you know, to begin with. I mean,
- 22:52Speaker 2: I did walk into a Ferrari dealership with a pair
- 22:54Speaker 2: of like graggedy shorts on and a torn up practiced
- 22:58Speaker 2: T shirt and some flip flops and mess around with
- 23:02Speaker 2: a salesperson, and they wanted to kick me out and
- 23:05Speaker 2: have me remove from the premises. And I did end
- 23:08Speaker 2: up buying a three sixty Medina right there on the
- 23:11Speaker 2: spot from from the actual another salesperson who came out
- 23:16Speaker 2: and was actually very cordial and kind to me. I did.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I did flex a few times. I definitely flex, but
- 23:26Speaker 2: I just wasn't obsessed by it. So I don't know
- 23:28Speaker 2: that I ever felt like I was like, Oh, you
- 23:31Speaker 2: made it, and oh you're rich and stuff like that.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I've just always kind of been on to the next.
- 23:36Speaker 2: It's like just trying to keep accomplishing. And that might
- 23:39Speaker 2: be a corny answer, but Bobby, I'm just telling you,
- 23:42Speaker 2: I'm still like that to this day. That's why I'm
- 23:44Speaker 2: on this phone call interview with you, right because I'm
- 23:46Speaker 2: with iHeart, I'm with Fox Sports Radio. I just continue
- 23:49Speaker 2: to just kind of keep building what it is that
- 23:52Speaker 2: I do. Just stay hungry, humbling, hungry.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I was listening to Calhart's podcast and I heard up
- 23:57Speaker 4: On Game come on the promo you guys do for
- 23:59Speaker 4: up On and it's you and who's Manzada and Plexico
- 24:04Speaker 4: and yeah. I was like, dang, that is like a
- 24:06Speaker 4: legit group of guys here talking about Yeah, so I
- 24:09Speaker 4: appreciate how did you three come together to do this show?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Well? I was an evil scientist. You know, receivers are
- 24:17Speaker 2: the most touched special individuals that you'll ever meet that
- 24:22Speaker 2: that play football. So they're very they're very uh interesting,
- 24:27Speaker 2: we'll say, and how they view the world around them.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And TJ and Plexico even in particular, more specifically, are
- 24:35Speaker 2: very touched and very special. Uh. TJ has such a strong,
- 24:40Speaker 2: pronounced underdog boulder on his shoulder type of approach, and
- 24:45Speaker 2: Plexico is just real smooth and just very very laid back,
- 24:51Speaker 2: unassuming but yet very opinionated type of dude. And I
- 24:56Speaker 2: just like being the one that kind of facilitates the
- 24:58Speaker 2: discussions as a linebacker. I like to create and instigate
- 25:03Speaker 2: like we did in the locker rooms and sit back
- 25:06Speaker 2: and see what color the wall is going to be.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Once you throw something out there and you get it started,
- 25:10Speaker 2: you get it popping, then you start to realize that,
- 25:13Speaker 2: you know, you hear a lot of cool things being
- 25:16Speaker 2: tossed around in terms of what it would sound like
- 25:19Speaker 2: if you were sitting in the locker room listening to
- 25:21Speaker 2: a conversation take place.
- 25:23Speaker 4: You guys can check out Levar's podcast network. It's also
- 25:25Speaker 4: called up on Game of close to fifteen shows you

- 25:31Speaker 4: the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Final question, LeVar, who was the.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Quarterback that you hated being lined up across from because
- 25:40Speaker 4: he was also reading you as much as you were
- 25:41Speaker 4: reading him, if not more.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Quarterback that I didn't like the most, that I hated
- 25:46Speaker 2: the most.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And not personally.
- 25:49Speaker 4: But you knew you also couldn't fall into your tendencies
- 25:52Speaker 4: because if he sees you do this, he's going to
- 25:55Speaker 4: be exactly where you're going.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Peyton Manning, dopest quarterback ever. To me, what separated his
- 26:03Speaker 2: acute simple? He just it was he was like a
- 26:08Speaker 2: cyborg half man, half machine man, half half computer half
- 26:12Speaker 2: like artificial intelligence, like a cyborg type dude, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 2: and you could tell he was analyzed. Dear, do that
- 26:22Speaker 2: just read alert like like real, real computer like man
- 26:27Speaker 2: like Peyton Manning was the dude.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Listen, you guys, go subscribe to up on Game and
- 26:32Speaker 4: you can see all the shows. Check out the show
- 26:35Speaker 4: up on Game and then also you know, two pros

- 26:49Speaker 2: I appreciate you having me on that.
- 26:51Speaker 1: LeVar. Good to talk to you, buddy. Hopefully I'll see
- 26:52Speaker 1: you soon.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Sounds good. Man, appreciate you all right, all.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Right, thanks to LeVar Arrington.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys, be sure to check out his podcast
- 27:00Speaker 4: and check out his whole podcast network there quickly. NBA
- 27:02Speaker 4: playoff recap The Nuggets beat the Suns when twenty five
- 27:05Speaker 4: one oh seven to go up one to zero in
- 27:06Speaker 4: the series. I mean, Katie had a game twenty nine points,
- 27:11Speaker 4: fourteen rebounds, but it's like he played almost forty minutes.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Booker played forty minutes. I mean, I don't know after
- 27:21Speaker 4: watching a lot of that game that the Suns are
- 27:23Speaker 4: gonna be able to play as effective. When those two
- 27:26Speaker 4: guys are playing the they look tired. What do I know?
- 27:29Speaker 4: Maybe I already know they're tired, so I just think
- 27:31Speaker 4: they're tired. So they look tired, but they look tired,
- 27:34Speaker 4: so we'll see what's up. I mean, I'd still take
- 27:38Speaker 4: the Suns, but if they lose another on when they
- 27:40Speaker 4: go down two.
- 27:41Speaker 1: That's gonna be tough.
- 27:43Speaker 4: He beat the Knicks one wait, one oh one despite
- 27:45Speaker 4: Butler's laid injury.
- 27:46Speaker 1: He did he come back in though, Yeah, he felt
- 27:48Speaker 1: like he came back in the game. He never even left.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Shot his reet does in the stat that makes sense.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Then, yeah, okay, because they were like he's but then
- 27:54Speaker 4: they said Butler's injured. So I turned it on and
- 27:57Speaker 4: he was in I said, because I saw him wiped
- 27:59Speaker 4: out on the flot. This is what it was. He
- 28:01Speaker 4: was on the floor. ESPN posted a thing where he's
- 28:03Speaker 4: like laying there. I don't even know what happened, and
- 28:05Speaker 4: it's like Butler injured. But then I turned it back
- 28:07Speaker 4: on and he was still in the game.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he never even left.
- 28:10Speaker 4: He had twenty five points, eleven rebounds. They call Himhimmi Butler.
- 28:15Speaker 4: I like that, man. I feel like the Heat could
- 28:18Speaker 4: have beat.
- 28:18Speaker 1: The Knicks anyway. But they're close.
- 28:21Speaker 4: They're gonna have to play the winner of that Boston
- 28:23Speaker 4: and Philadelphia series over there.
- 28:26Speaker 1: But I mean, can the Heat do it?
- 28:29Speaker 2: Scared?
- 28:29Speaker 1: Can the Heat do it? I don't think they can,
- 28:31Speaker 1: But can the Heat do it?
- 28:32Speaker 4: We'll talk about Steph Carey's fifty point game, which Steph
- 28:36Speaker 4: had to do it all. And I watched probably seventy
- 28:40Speaker 4: five percent of this game, and they were resting Steph early,
- 28:43Speaker 4: I think because they knew that Steph had to do
- 28:45Speaker 4: it all. But he also shot almost forty times, and
- 28:49Speaker 4: that is very Unsteph characteristic because he just isn't He's
- 28:57Speaker 4: gonna be far more efficient than that. But he shot
- 28:59Speaker 4: twenty fourth three from the field, seven for eighteen from threes,
- 29:03Speaker 4: and six assists, fifty points. Crazy, he mean, he won
- 29:05Speaker 4: the game. Step won the game for them. He was
- 29:07Speaker 4: unbelieving they relied on Steph. Unbelievable. I watched him shoot
- 29:11Speaker 4: shots that I'm still amazed that he makes, even after
- 29:14Speaker 4: seeing him his whole career, make them right, like you scoot.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Dang that one where he hit Jordan Poole.
- 29:23Speaker 3: He ran into him and like somehow it still stayed
- 29:25Speaker 3: up and then did a floater and You're like, dude, what.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it's crazy. So they went out face the Lakers,
- 29:30Speaker 4: like who do you pull for?
- 29:31Speaker 1: Here? Come on? I pulled for the Lakers, Warriors.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I like the Warriors a lot, but I'm gonna pull
- 29:36Speaker 4: for the Lakers because I said they could actually make
- 29:38Speaker 4: the championship, and Kevin laughed at me.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So I said, second round. So here we go. This
- 29:41Speaker 1: is it. I like that if Lebron wins this.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I think if he wins one more, you got to
- 29:47Speaker 4: start giving him more credit as the best of all time,
- 29:50Speaker 4: or at least all those people that shut him down immediately,
- 29:52Speaker 4: because he's a point leader. He's got more playoff wins
- 29:55Speaker 4: than anybody, but he may be tied with somebody like
- 29:58Speaker 4: series wins everything but rings. It's Lebron another ring, another
- 30:06Speaker 4: ring with the point title, and you're not gonna tell
- 30:08Speaker 4: me Lebron's the best ever. Twenty twenty three NFL Draft,
- 30:12Speaker 4: I made some notes. I know Kevin did a deal.
- 30:15Speaker 4: You guys can check it out. It was five minutes
- 30:17Speaker 4: from right after the draft where we talked about it.
- 30:18Speaker 4: But here's the notes that I had. I heard that
- 30:21Speaker 4: Levice's draft interviews did not go well, and that's why
- 30:23Speaker 4: I moved back. Heard that from a couple of people,
- 30:25Speaker 4: not just stuff that I read. We talked to LeVar
- 30:27Speaker 4: Arrington about that a little bit, as you heard, but
- 30:30Speaker 4: I don't know what it could have been either. I mean,
- 30:31Speaker 4: what do you do show up late. That's about the
- 30:33Speaker 4: only way you make or you're too arrogant.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Yeah, but you also want you you want your quarterback
- 30:39Speaker 4: to kind of be full of himself in like a
- 30:41Speaker 4: healthy way. You want to have so much confidence that
- 30:44Speaker 4: it starts to border on cocky. Like Joe Burrows like,
- 30:47Speaker 4: that's the dude. We wouln't want to hang out with them.
- 30:49Speaker 4: I don't think, but that's what you want out of
- 30:51Speaker 4: your quarterback. I lost a lot of money on Richardson
- 30:55Speaker 4: because I bet it. I text Kevin immediately.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like four, it's so stupid.
- 31:02Speaker 1: As soon as Droud went You're like, oh no, so stupid.
- 31:06Speaker 4: The Cowboys we have a clip of this where one
- 31:09Speaker 4: of the scouts for the Cowboys got to draft his
- 31:12Speaker 4: own son, the running back from Kansas State.
- 31:14Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. I'll play this for you. Here you go, Hey, buddy, Hey.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It's going good. This is day. My phone wasn't working.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Look at here, man, you want to come to work
- 31:23Speaker 2: with me next week?
- 31:25Speaker 1: I that's pretty awesome. So cool.
- 31:31Speaker 4: It doesn't mean it's gonna make it or make the team,
- 31:34Speaker 4: but it's got a decent chance to.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Was it a fourth or fifth round pick fourth I believe.
- 31:39Speaker 4: I feel like if you're drafted in the first four rounds,
- 31:42Speaker 4: you got a really good shot to make the team.
- 31:44Speaker 4: But here you go Deuce Vaughan running back for Kansas
- 31:48Speaker 4: State pick two hundred and twelve.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Oh, sixth round. Oh yeah, you got tough.
- 31:52Speaker 4: It's gonna be a tough, tough run to make the team.
- 31:54Speaker 4: It's a sixth round pick. But that's pretty cool. I
- 31:57Speaker 4: like that clip though. I sent it to Mike on
- 31:59Speaker 4: Instagram with the little paper airplane. I was like, save this,
- 32:01Speaker 4: we need to do this for her on the show.
- 32:03Speaker 4: They're going to release the schedule May eleventh for the NFL,
- 32:05Speaker 4: which is pretty exciting. Joelle embiid likely doubtful for Game
- 32:09Speaker 4: one versus the Celtics. How does that make you feel
- 32:11Speaker 4: Celtics fan.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Great more confident? I wasn't.
- 32:14Speaker 3: I mean, even when we play him he goes off.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I'm really not worried about the Sixers that much. But
- 32:18Speaker 3: with him out, it's.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Like, you're not worried about the Sixers.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I know.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I just we've played them so well, we matched up
- 32:24Speaker 3: against them so well.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I'd be worried. I'll be word every game for here
- 32:29Speaker 1: on out.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I'm worried, of course I'm worried, But I just think
- 32:32Speaker 3: the Celtics so confident against sixers, and they match up
- 32:35Speaker 3: so well against them that I think they'll win in six.
- 32:38Speaker 4: And be dealing with his sprain to el cell in
- 32:40Speaker 4: his right need that he's suffered in Game three, first
- 32:42Speaker 4: round versus the Nets. I also feel like em Beat's
- 32:45Speaker 4: always hurt. There's always something. But I guess when you're
- 32:50Speaker 4: that tall, that big, that athletic odds are, there's just
- 32:55Speaker 4: more body to get hurt.
- 32:56Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. He falls a lot. You
- 32:58Speaker 1: ever notice that a lot? A lot.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Yeah, Dylan Brooks find twenty five thousand bucks for not
- 33:02Speaker 4: talking to media. He's also a free agent. Yeah, he
- 33:06Speaker 4: just didn't embrace the villain roll. You just gotta stick
- 33:09Speaker 4: with it because people hate you or love you anyway,
- 33:12Speaker 4: and then you kind of petered.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Out, like I don't talk, I don't know.
- 33:18Speaker 4: You gotta stay keep trolling, even if you lose, keep
- 33:22Speaker 4: trolling because eventually you're gonna be back on top in
- 33:23Speaker 4: some way, and you'd be like I told you, just
- 33:25Speaker 4: hold on long enough, you keep walking to the right
- 33:27Speaker 4: long enough, you'll end up in California. Just keep going
- 33:30Speaker 4: east because eventually you become all the way back around.
- 33:33Speaker 4: But Dylan Brooks find twenty five thousand bucks for not
- 33:35Speaker 4: talking to the media. And again, I mean he struggled.
- 33:38Speaker 4: After that one game, he struggled the entire rest of
- 33:41Speaker 4: the series. He struggled, shooting thirty one percent from the
- 33:44Speaker 4: floor and twenty four percent from three point range. Again,
- 33:47Speaker 4: He'll be an unrestricted free agent in the off season.
- 33:50Speaker 4: Arch Manning has declined all in IL deals, which is
- 33:54Speaker 4: pretty cool. And listen, you can hit me with Will's
- 33:56Speaker 4: parents are rich, okay, but he's still probably like to
- 33:58Speaker 4: make his own money and have some cool deal. So
- 34:00Speaker 4: the fact that he's turned them all down, that's pretty cool. Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 4: I think that says a lot about him. According to
- 34:05Speaker 4: Steve Sarkizi, and Manning has opted against signing any deals
- 34:08Speaker 4: because he's not the team starting quarterback. Manning is the
- 34:12Speaker 4: third ranked student athlete on the on three Sports nil
- 34:16Speaker 4: evaluation list. His evaluation is three point two million dollars.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Like when they did the evaluation on him. Dang, he
- 34:23Speaker 4: doesn't need the money, I get it, but still he
- 34:26Speaker 4: can make his own money for the first time ever.
- 34:29Speaker 4: He's not doing it until he's the starter. I saw
- 34:31Speaker 4: some guys giving him a hard time because he didn't
- 34:33Speaker 4: look great in the spring game.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Okay, but he was seventeen. Yeah, I'm like, come on,
- 34:37Speaker 1: he's still supposed to be in high school. Like he
- 34:39Speaker 1: left high school early.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Yeah, get out of here. What were you doing at seventeen?
- 34:44Speaker 3: I'm man, it's on the golf course.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I'm just saying. Oh, I'm telling you, not that exactly.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Lamar Jackson's deal happened, thank god, because we have to
- 34:54Speaker 4: talk about it all the time. But Lamar Jackson InCD
- 34:56Speaker 4: the two hundred and sixty million dollars deal. But it's
- 34:58Speaker 4: one hundred and eighty five million Guaran tied. He doesn't
- 35:01Speaker 4: need an il Dells anymore.
- 35:02Speaker 1: He's good too. He's all caught up in money.
- 35:04Speaker 4: He's a start, right yeah, yeah for now until he
- 35:08Speaker 4: gets hurt again partially way through the next season.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Can we get a Eddie clip out the Cowboys? There? Mike,
- 35:14Speaker 1: go ahead, what do you want? I don't care. Hey,
- 35:17Speaker 1: this is our year. Thanks Eddie. I appreciate that. I
- 35:24Speaker 1: don't notice say to that. Give me another one? Wow?
- 35:27Speaker 2: How about them?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Cowboy is? So the Cowboys added a tight end.
- 35:33Speaker 4: You know, they did not draft an offensive lineman of
- 35:35Speaker 4: the fifth round, and that was kind of what everyone
- 35:37Speaker 4: thought they would load up on. So I'm not sure
- 35:40Speaker 4: Eddie feels about it. I feel like the Cowboys were
- 35:42Speaker 4: one of the teams I expect a little more from. However,
- 35:46Speaker 4: the kid from Michigan when he was drafted. You saw
- 35:49Speaker 4: were you watching? I think it was like maybe ESPN
- 35:53Speaker 4: two and they had the room full of people. The
- 35:57Speaker 4: Cowboys linebacker was in the room.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Late in No, Michael Parsons, Yes, yes, that was like
- 36:02Speaker 3: a bleacher report thing.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I think, Oh that wasn't my TV. Yeah, okay, all
- 36:05Speaker 1: I did was see the clips of it.
- 36:06Speaker 4: So Michael Parsons was like, I told you, I texted
- 36:08Speaker 4: the coach we need to draft him, and he was
- 36:10Speaker 4: going crazy. That's pretty cool. Yeah, that's pretty cool. So Cowboys,
- 36:14Speaker 4: I'm sorry, do you have a sad one? Let's see,
- 36:17Speaker 4: did you leave us to a sad one?
- 36:19Speaker 1: Hey?
- 36:19Speaker 2: You do?
- 36:19Speaker 1: That was a tough Hey, that was a tough week,
- 36:21Speaker 1: tough week, tough matchup. We'll get him next week, though,
- 36:23Speaker 1: get him next week, next week's draft.
- 36:25Speaker 4: Yes, the Eagles crushed Will Levis slid slid, slid, but I.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Think he ended up in a great place.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I think if he went to the Titans at eleven,
- 36:36Speaker 4: which I think was their pick, I think that had
- 36:39Speaker 4: been great. But he ended up with the Titans at
- 36:41Speaker 4: second pick of the second round, So I think he's
- 36:44Speaker 4: still in a very fortunate place for him to actually
- 36:46Speaker 4: have a shot to play significant downs and minutes this.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Year, but for next year.
- 36:53Speaker 4: I think will Levis was a big winner, even though
- 36:55Speaker 4: he was a big loser day one. I mean not
- 36:59Speaker 4: a big loser, but like a big loser for saying
- 37:00Speaker 4: winners and losers from the draft.
- 37:01Speaker 1: That sucks. It's embarrassing, so embursing. It's embarrassing.
- 37:04Speaker 4: You're sitting there thinking you're gonna be a top five,
- 37:06Speaker 4: top six, top seven pick, and all of a sudden
- 37:08Speaker 4: top ten, okay, top fifty, oh crap. And then you
- 37:11Speaker 4: look at the board and you see everybody coming up
- 37:13Speaker 4: and they don't need a quarterback, and so you're waiting
- 37:15Speaker 4: for somebody to trade in, but nobody does.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Couldn't believe it.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Yeah, he opted not to come back for day two.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Kind of a quitter, come back, come back, Will Levis.
- 37:26Speaker 4: You sat there off for day one at least go
- 37:28Speaker 4: day two. Sit in the room, let him call your name,
- 37:30Speaker 4: walk out there, show you have some resolve.
- 37:33Speaker 3: You think he got right on the first flight out,
- 37:35Speaker 3: say get me out of Kansas City.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I don't know if he left or not. I would
- 37:38Speaker 1: assume right I saw it.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Well, there's footge who's out of house when he got drafted,
- 37:42Speaker 3: so probably back home.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I would have stayed, though.
- 37:44Speaker 4: I'd have stayed and showed those coaches who said I
- 37:46Speaker 4: didn't have good interviews I'm here.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it sucked for Will Levis, but then I think
- 37:50Speaker 4: he ended up in a really fortunate place. The dad
- 37:53Speaker 4: who slapped his son's girlfriend's butt, that was hilarious. I
- 37:57Speaker 4: think twice forget they're filming that.
- 38:04Speaker 1: And then the Tennessee quarterback hooker going third round to
- 38:09Speaker 1: the Lions.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I like that.
- 38:10Speaker 4: It's interesting that he fell all the way to the
- 38:12Speaker 4: third round. People were like, he's gonna be at the
- 38:14Speaker 4: backside of the first round.
- 38:15Speaker 1: There was not a run. He did not go.
- 38:18Speaker 4: He ended up in the third round, and yeah, he'll
- 38:20Speaker 4: get to play behind golf and he'll not be in
- 38:21Speaker 4: a rush to bounce back, to feel like he needs
- 38:23Speaker 4: to bounce back. Golf's their guy and maybe he gets
- 38:27Speaker 4: to play a little bit. There are two running backs
- 38:29Speaker 4: draft in the top twelve picks right because Detroit also
- 38:32Speaker 4: took the Alabama running back, but Bijon to Atlanta early,
- 38:35Speaker 4: way earlier than I thought. Initially they had Bejon going
- 38:38Speaker 4: to like twenty three. I saw some Cowboys speculation that
- 38:41Speaker 4: he'd kind of sit and wait and the Cowboys would
- 38:45Speaker 4: take him at whatever pick they were.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Nope, Atlanta jumped early on them.
- 38:49Speaker 4: So my thing though, is we really don't know who
- 38:52Speaker 4: wins or loses the draft until five, ten years down
- 38:55Speaker 4: the road. It's fun to just go, well, the Eagles
- 38:58Speaker 4: had a great draft and they got Andre Swift in
- 39:00Speaker 4: the trade, so they are the big winners. We don't
- 39:03Speaker 4: know what's gonna happen based on the data that we
- 39:05Speaker 4: have of that night. Philadelphia did awesome. I mean, Witherspoon
- 39:09Speaker 4: going to Seattle Man, that's gonna be good. I feel
- 39:13Speaker 4: like that's gonna be really good. The Texans getting c J.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Stroud and Will Anderson and trading up quick. I was
- 39:20Speaker 4: stunned by that trade.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I'm sitting there watching and I'm like, c J.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Strod, dang it, I guess that means Richardson's not, you know,
- 39:27Speaker 4: gonna go quickly now. And then like the Texans have
- 39:30Speaker 4: traded up, and I was like, oh, good mail blocked
- 39:32Speaker 4: this richards and move. But it was the Cardinals pick
- 39:34Speaker 4: at three and then they they take Will Anderson Junior
- 39:38Speaker 4: from Alabama.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Two cornerstone guys. Yeah, back to back offense and defense.
- 39:43Speaker 3: So I'm predicting now Texan super Bowl champs.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Okay, I'm not predicting that at all. All Right, pretty
- 39:49Speaker 4: good sports weekend, I would say, you, yeah, I love it.
- 39:52Speaker 1: The Bruins losing. That sucks for you. That was brutal.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I was just watching it kind of like you watch
- 39:58Speaker 4: a natural disaster on the other side of the world.
- 40:00Speaker 4: You feel bad for everybody, but doesn't feelose to you
- 40:01Speaker 4: because I don't watch hockey.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I think that's a very good way to.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Put it, because he's like, you'll see something like a tsunami.
- 40:07Speaker 4: You know, I don't even know what I've never been
- 40:08Speaker 4: in a tsunami, and I feel bad for I feel
- 40:10Speaker 4: really bad for them, and I'm like, man, I can't
- 40:12Speaker 4: amat but I don't understand the tsunami part of it,
- 40:14Speaker 4: and it's so far away from me that It really
- 40:16Speaker 4: just feels like it's something on TV. Yeah, it's like
- 40:20Speaker 4: watching the brew I don't even know nothing about hockey,
- 40:23Speaker 4: but I felt bad for you. I felt bad for
- 40:25Speaker 4: Boston fans, felt bad for the guy who listens to
- 40:27Speaker 4: our show, who plays for the Bruins.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Up a box of Brewins stuff. He did, Yeah, to
- 40:32Speaker 1: who there's one here? To who?
- 40:35Speaker 2: To you?
- 40:36Speaker 7: Yeah, show to the show or to me, Well you
- 40:39Speaker 7: asked for it? I did, yeah, you said, if any listener, Oh,
- 40:43Speaker 7: but not from him. No, from their like sports, but
- 40:48Speaker 7: not from a listener who went out and bought it. No,
- 40:50Speaker 7: it's from their sports like a sports department there.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Yeah, like their their sports shop at the facility. That's
- 40:56Speaker 3: legit at the garden.
- 40:57Speaker 4: I didn't make up a fan quick enough. Make sure
- 41:00Speaker 4: we're going to do a baby Ruins for Life. Do
- 41:03Speaker 4: you guys have a.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Saying go Bees?
- 41:06Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 41:06Speaker 1: I got me, Yeah, I go Bees. The bees are buzzing.
- 41:10Speaker 1: All right, that's it, We're done. Let's go.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Final thoughts. My final thought I'll start is about Reid.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Reid got us to golf clubs, got a man, get
- 41:20Speaker 4: his irons. But by the way, Kevin and I go
- 41:22Speaker 4: on Friday, right, yeah, Thursday, Yeah, Friday, Friday.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm going to do you know that? Yeah, that was
- 41:27Speaker 1: actually my final thought. I was gonna ask you some questions. Okay,
- 41:30Speaker 1: you can uh.
- 41:31Speaker 4: But Reed got his clubs fitted and he bought them
- 41:33Speaker 4: and he was whacking them on Instagram. Even one of
- 41:36Speaker 4: our bosses, like Red, plays golf, and I was like, yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 4: I used to play golf in high school. And I
- 41:40Speaker 4: gave Read a hard time because you got like thirty
- 41:42Speaker 4: over a couple of weeks ago. I played terrible this week,
- 41:44Speaker 4: and I was like, I should never say anything to Read.
- 41:46Speaker 4: But then I got a message that goes read. It
- 41:49Speaker 4: just finished around plus four, and I was like, dang,
- 41:53Speaker 4: Read must have got some magic golf clubs. And I said, Read,
- 41:57Speaker 4: you went plus four and he could easily lied while
- 42:00Speaker 4: we were playing to scramble and rain the whole time.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it was a two man scramble at that.
- 42:06Speaker 1: That's so pretty good.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Though it rained and it hailed on us.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Your clubs. Do you feel like they've made a difference.
- 42:13Speaker 5: I just feel a lot more comfortable.
- 42:14Speaker 8: I'm standing up a lot straighter, and it still takes
- 42:18Speaker 8: a minute to get used to it. I wasn't hitting
- 42:20Speaker 8: it as solid as I wanted it to. But they
- 42:22Speaker 8: were going straight, so I'll take it.
- 42:24Speaker 4: My final thought was about Read playing golf and me
- 42:25Speaker 4: wishing I would have made fun of shoot thirty over
- 42:27Speaker 4: because I.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Shot really, really, really bad.
- 42:29Speaker 5: When did you play that round the day after I
- 42:31Speaker 5: played with you?
- 42:32Speaker 1: Okay, we went on Saturday. You guys played, Yeah, yeah,
- 42:35Speaker 1: it was yesterday.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it was on Sunday.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Because I was like, what is this rain and all
- 42:39Speaker 1: this stuff? How did Reid playing good? How did you play?
- 42:42Speaker 3: I actually played decent. It was a rough start but
- 42:45Speaker 3: got a lot better.
- 42:46Speaker 1: It was fun.
- 42:47Speaker 5: Yeah, that was good. I was.
- 42:49Speaker 8: I was really shocked at how well Kevin Kevin performed
- 42:51Speaker 8: out there.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Nice thanks coach.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Well.
- 42:53Speaker 4: My final thought I should have made fun of Read
- 42:55Speaker 4: because I played a horrible and I have to play
- 42:56Speaker 4: golf with our CFO on Wednesday. Who's flying in for
- 42:58Speaker 4: New York play golf? Yeah, we're going to a club
- 43:02Speaker 4: here in town. I'm not a member of it, but
- 43:04Speaker 4: it's me our CFO, Jake Owen, and somebody else, and
- 43:10Speaker 4: I just don't want to be I just want to
- 43:12Speaker 4: humiliate myself because there are days I go out there
- 43:14Speaker 4: and I just can't the ball. There are days I
- 43:16Speaker 4: go out and I played really good. I can shoot
- 43:17Speaker 4: like a eighty three eighty four. I'm like, dang, I'm on.
- 43:20Speaker 4: There are days where I go and it's I don't
- 43:23Speaker 4: even know what my arms are doing. They don't even
- 43:26Speaker 4: do what I want them to do, and I'm just
- 43:27Speaker 4: like flaring balls off all the time, and I'm just embarrassed.
- 43:29Speaker 1: So I'm hoping that doesn't happen.
- 43:30Speaker 8: Raid your final thoughts, Uh, Well, my final thought was,
- 43:33Speaker 8: it's just gonna be that I played with Kevin for
- 43:35Speaker 8: the first time on the course, and I was really
- 43:37Speaker 8: shocked at how well he played.
- 43:39Speaker 1: So nice.
- 43:40Speaker 3: I'm excited for That's what I was gonna say. Yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 3: this is without my own clubs, and I don't even
- 43:46Speaker 3: have a pitching wedge.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I'm using nine for everything. It's gonna be fun. He's
- 43:49Speaker 1: got literal woods.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Now he was bending down like I used to.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Like that's just because he's not an athlete.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Whoa whoa Kevin final thought, Yeah, I was just gonna
- 43:58Speaker 3: ask you. We haven't really talked about it. I don't
- 43:59Speaker 3: know if we can say it. Well, Friday, like it's
- 44:01Speaker 3: the week I'm excited. I can't wait, you sup muchally
- 44:03Speaker 3: have to play in the other day or we where
- 44:04Speaker 3: are we going? And we'll set.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Up you were going to.
- 44:09Speaker 4: We're going to a club where this guy work. He
- 44:13Speaker 4: moves around, travels around, but he does a lot of
- 44:15Speaker 4: his fitting at the specific club.
- 44:16Speaker 1: So we're gonna go down to this club and you.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Get in like a driving range or a shed or wherever,
- 44:22Speaker 4: and you just hit balls, hit balls, hit balls, hit ball,
- 44:23Speaker 4: hit balls, and he's like, try this, try that, try this,
- 44:25Speaker 4: what about this?
- 44:25Speaker 1: D da da da da da dah. And so.
- 44:29Speaker 4: It takes a while, and you know, he said, hey,
- 44:31Speaker 4: you should come to and I'm like, oh, I don't
- 44:33Speaker 4: want to go. Just watch Kevin hit balls. He goes,
- 44:34Speaker 4: no need to fit you for a putter. We never
- 44:36Speaker 4: did that, and I was like, you fit for a putter.
- 44:39Speaker 4: He's like yeah, I said, all right, I'll be there,
- 44:41Speaker 4: so we'll go and then I'll leave, probably before you
- 44:43Speaker 4: really get going, because I always get embarrassed to if
- 44:46Speaker 4: I can't if I'm hitting terribly. And he's like, try
- 44:47Speaker 4: this club. Yeah, I don't want you watching me all time,
- 44:50Speaker 4: right right right, that's all We'll do.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Awesome. I can't wait.
- 44:53Speaker 5: Am I going as well?
- 44:54Speaker 1: Shout out to Cobra Yes, yeah, because you're filming him. Cool.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Yeah, So all right, that's what's up. Thank you guys,
- 44:59Speaker 4: have a great We weren't going to come on today
- 45:02Speaker 4: and do this show. However, there was such a mask
- 45:03Speaker 4: sports weekend we thought we would. Are there commercials in
