- 0:18Speaker 3: It was nice.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It felt good, It was really nice. It was it
- 0:21Speaker 2: was nice.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Should we have to read this out again?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, listen. This is the whole season's over.
- 0:25Speaker 3: But it's not gonna mean we're gonna stop rooting for

- 0:50Speaker 4: The Chevy Silverado had a number, it'd be seventy seven.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Seventy seven. There was a video that our boy Jack
- 0:59Speaker 3: McPherson made for me. Jack, let's give Jack a reno
- 1:01Speaker 3: pause that was.
- 1:03Speaker 5: This is this isn't about me today.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Well, thank you Jack.
- 1:06Speaker 3: That's very Let's give Taylor that's very humble.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Thank you guys.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I do appreciate watching. Make sure you subscribed all that
- 1:12Speaker 1: fun stuff. Taylor the nine year run in Tennessee. Yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 1: as officially comed, come, came, came, come to a coming, came,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I finished coming.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Uh you just got the news like an hour or
- 1:30Speaker 4: two ago.
- 1:31Speaker 6: Yeah, but I mean, well it happened an hour or two.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It happened an hour.
- 1:36Speaker 3: How long have you known? We've known that it's gonna
- 1:39Speaker 3: happen this week since Cabo. Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah, And which way, that was a nice moment we
- 1:44Speaker 4: shared it.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That was a nice one.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That was like, got some good tears. How you feeling
- 1:49Speaker 2: right now?
- 1:50Speaker 3: A little uncomfortable because we're on the bus and all
- 1:53Speaker 3: the boys are back here, and you don't want to like, uh,
- 1:57Speaker 3: I don't know. I guess I don't want to get emotion.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But I was like, I mean yesterday when I when
- 2:03Speaker 3: it was I was supposed to get cut Friday and
- 2:05Speaker 3: then and then I got moved to today. So when
- 2:07Speaker 3: I found out yesterday that was happening. I was I
- 2:09Speaker 3: was really upset and I was sad, and then I
- 2:13Speaker 3: had a conversation with my wife last night, and today
- 2:16Speaker 3: I woke up happy. Like there's a lot of things
- 2:21Speaker 3: in the last three years that I wish I could change.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I wish I didn't have an ACL, I wish there
- 2:24Speaker 3: wasn't a PD and all that stuff. But at the
- 2:27Speaker 3: end of it, like, I'm extremely proud of the career
- 2:30Speaker 3: that I've have with the Titans, and I am extremely
- 2:33Speaker 3: grateful for being a part of the Tennessee Titans for
- 2:35Speaker 3: as long as I have and being in being able
- 2:38Speaker 3: to be a part of the Titans when the Titans
- 2:40Speaker 3: were shit that the stadium was a quarter full, and
- 2:42Speaker 3: we're two and fourteen, and now you know, we're getting
- 2:45Speaker 3: We're getting there, We're getting we're getting full, but not
- 2:47Speaker 3: quite one hundred percent in full. And the Titans are
- 2:50Speaker 3: in a much better position than when I first got there.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So I'm extremely proud and and to be honest, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: feel I feel free really in a weird way.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I went, uh, why do.
- 3:03Speaker 3: You think you feel free? Like, what do you think?
- 3:05Speaker 1: First?
- 3:05Speaker 3: Through my life, I haven't had the I haven't had
- 3:07Speaker 3: my name tied to anything besides the bus, but like
- 3:11Speaker 3: there is not an expectation on me to play football
- 3:16Speaker 3: or to be ready to play football, or if if
- 3:19Speaker 3: it was, you know, being a catch of shadows being
- 3:21Speaker 3: ready for that football season or Chaparo High School or
- 3:23Speaker 3: Michigan and now and then the Tennessee Titans. Like there's
- 3:27Speaker 3: even when we were in Cabo, there was a piece
- 3:30Speaker 3: of me and it's like should I be doing something?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Should I be? And then when I walked out of
- 3:34Speaker 3: the building today, like hello to everybody, talk to all
- 3:37Speaker 3: the guys that I've been around for a long time.
- 3:39Speaker 3: There's a lot of guys that have been in the
- 3:40Speaker 3: building for a long time and I've gotten to know
- 3:42Speaker 3: really well. And after those good byes, I kind of
- 3:44Speaker 3: walked down and I was like, this is it's a
- 3:46Speaker 3: refreshing feeling in a weird in a weird way, like
- 3:49Speaker 3: the morning process has happened since I got hurt week
- 3:53Speaker 3: two of the season, because when I had to go
- 3:57Speaker 3: get sergery, I went to Rabel's office and I said,
- 3:58Speaker 3: I know I'm gonna get cut.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Understand, Like that is how this is going to work.
- 4:02Speaker 3: So that the morning process has been since the fall,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and now that it's happened. I I really just thought
- 4:08Speaker 3: like they were gonna put me down, They're gonna shoot
- 4:10Speaker 3: me or something, and it was gonna be over. But really,
- 4:13Speaker 3: like I walked in there and Rabel and I were
- 4:15Speaker 3: talking about Jen and her foot when she they first
- 4:18Speaker 3: came to Tennessee and and then Ran came in and
- 4:22Speaker 3: shook his hand and kind of just sat there for saying,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I go, so, how does this go? And I like,
- 4:27Speaker 3: do you guys put it? Like kill me right? What's
- 4:29Speaker 3: the deal? And they're just like they're like, yeah, we
- 4:32Speaker 3: just gotta you know, you know, we're releasing you and
- 4:34Speaker 3: blah bla blah. And I was like, yeah, I know,
- 4:36Speaker 3: so is that it? And then that was kind of
- 4:39Speaker 3: at the end of the conversation. It was there was
- 4:42Speaker 3: a question of whether or not I, you know, they
- 4:44Speaker 3: would not have to go into all the conversation. But
- 4:47Speaker 3: the answer is I got cut and now I just
- 4:51Speaker 3: got to figure out what to do. Do you know
- 4:53Speaker 3: what you want to do right now? I want to
- 4:56Speaker 3: get my knee healthy. That's what I want to do
- 4:58Speaker 3: because man, ever, instead first surgery, I've had a lot
- 5:01Speaker 3: of it's been a frustrating experience. So I want to
- 5:04Speaker 3: get that thing back to neutral, recharge the batteries, yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 3: and figure out where we're at. I would assume the
- 5:10Speaker 3: phone will be buzzing for the agent.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I mean yeah, literally, it's the transaction doesn't happen until
- 5:15Speaker 1: what like three pm.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Three pm today, So by three pm tomorrow I should Oh,
- 5:19Speaker 3: I guess.
- 5:20Speaker 4: I'm sure you'll be fielding about thirty one other calls.
- 5:24Speaker 3: No, maybe thirty two, No, thirty thirty. You know, forty
- 5:28Speaker 3: nine ers they got themselves a left tackle. Yeah, forty
- 5:31Speaker 3: nine ers got themselves a stud.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But I'm sure everybody you know, you'll be a hot commodity.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You'll be a hot little talk.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Taylor and I were last night.
- 5:37Speaker 3: We have pulled up all thirty two teams and I
- 5:39Speaker 3: was like, no, no, yes, no, maybe like kind of
- 5:44Speaker 3: going throughout the teams were a few yeses.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Top three Yeah, because we.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Remember we've talked about it before in the pod.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, my top three's changed?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Has it?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah? Does this still include me? Yes? I'm just kidding.
- 5:54Speaker 3: This isn't about me.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, what's the three?
- 6:00Speaker 3: I want to stay close to Tennessee. I want to
- 6:02Speaker 3: be in like the same region Atlanta. So Jacksonville, Indianapolis
- 6:07Speaker 3: or Houston.
- 6:09Speaker 4: You want to stay in the division, you want to stay.
- 6:11Speaker 3: In the choices, That's where I want to go.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So nothing but love for Tennessee. Yeah, there's that, dude.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I got some pringles on this shoulder right now, Dude, Jacksonville,
- 6:22Speaker 3: what's up? Did you guys seem like you've been playing
- 6:23Speaker 3: pretty well?
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:24Speaker 3: No, I don't want to go well, those are the
- 6:26Speaker 3: three teams that are for sure knows.
- 6:27Speaker 4: That for sure knows I hang on now.
- 6:31Speaker 3: No, I would not go play for an AFC South
- 6:33Speaker 3: team three.
- 6:34Speaker 4: For sixty No, twenty million year?
- 6:37Speaker 2: What are we talking about, dude.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Bro, I'll make that on the bus.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm good, okay, Yeah, there must be something I'm not
- 6:43Speaker 1: seeing then, Yeah, you didn't see.
- 6:45Speaker 2: No, you didn't hear.
- 6:46Speaker 6: About Jevy the most great? Yeah, determined, reliable. Are you
- 6:52Speaker 6: going to say a few.
- 6:54Speaker 3: No, I'm not going to say no, no, no, I'm not
- 6:55Speaker 3: gonna say now.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Get year off.
- 6:58Speaker 7: I don't want to.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I don't want the b before I'll tell the boys.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I don't want to tell these these tears.
- 7:03Speaker 8: I'm sorry, I can't everything, but what I'm saying is
- 7:06Speaker 8: we've told team.
- 7:07Speaker 3: And I'll say yes or now because I don't want
- 7:09Speaker 3: to Atlanta. No, because Jake Matthews is there. I respect
- 7:15Speaker 3: Jake Matthews. I think his contracts come to an end.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yes, Atlanta, man, let's just play around here.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of to these teams without left tackles. Dealers.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna do a whole thing with Jersey Jerry.
- 7:36Speaker 9: But Eagles no, oh yes, yes, no, oh azy, No,
- 7:48Speaker 9: stay to seem like yes, the Saints so potential winners.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I know the Bengals need a left tackle. Bengals. I
- 7:58Speaker 3: know the Bengals need to left tackle. I know the
- 8:01Speaker 3: Bengals need to left tackle. I'll put some wait on
- 8:04Speaker 3: for the boys. A little thing's bouncing in there. Those
- 8:11Speaker 3: are that's a good it's a good amount of team.
- 8:12Speaker 3: But I don't want to turn this into like where
- 8:14Speaker 3: am I going to go play next? Like, let's give
- 8:16Speaker 3: fucking leave that to me. Let's the body.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah you can do that. Let the body get cold
- 8:20Speaker 2: with the Titans.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Fans first, dude, But it was it's been an amazing
- 8:23Speaker 3: nine years and I do appreciate you guys so much.
- 8:25Speaker 3: It's been what.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Were some of the What are some of the fondest
- 8:28Speaker 1: memories outside of finding your best friend.
- 8:33Speaker 3: The Pro Bowls that in twenty nineteen twenty nineteen playoff run,
- 8:44Speaker 3: everything was going right, dude. Like it truly was flow
- 8:47Speaker 3: state like group, flow state group too, Like, yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Everybody was just like everyone when we.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Had it back after we didn't even make the playoffs
- 8:55Speaker 1: and you had all the boys, like everybody basically came
- 8:57Speaker 1: over every day down in the basement in nad and.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah and stuff.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, boys, like all the hogs were getting ready, like, oh,
- 9:04Speaker 1: we gotta you know, we gotta get Derek because you
- 9:06Speaker 1: guys are rolling like the running game was just yeah, it.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Was fucking going crazy, bro. Now we are really we
- 9:10Speaker 3: really believed we were gonna beat Kansas City every single
- 9:13Speaker 3: time we played them. It was so weird because they
- 9:15Speaker 3: were so good. Yeah, but we always like beat them,
- 9:18Speaker 3: except for like that game last year year before. Yeah no,
- 9:24Speaker 3: but it seemed like that playing Jacksonville at home, Derek
- 9:28Speaker 3: would always go for like two thirty, like Derek's ninety
- 9:31Speaker 3: nine yard run just like us. We called that too,
- 9:33Speaker 3: Like we literally sat there in the huddle and a
- 9:36Speaker 3: QB sneak checked with thirteen duo is the play. It's
- 9:40Speaker 3: a gap scheme play and he checked it. But before
- 9:45Speaker 3: the playoff, I do what if we go for ninety
- 9:47Speaker 3: nine yards in one play? And then Derek fucking did
- 9:49Speaker 3: It was like the coolest thing ever. Yeah, it was
- 9:52Speaker 3: so sick. So I don't know if it was awesome
- 9:55Speaker 3: being around the boys. We had the best locker room.
- 9:57Speaker 3: We had. We had the best O line locker room
- 10:00Speaker 3: in the league. And I've only been in one place,
- 10:02Speaker 3: but people would leave and come back. People would leave
- 10:05Speaker 3: and call us be like, damn, you guys really have
- 10:07Speaker 3: the best room. Guys would come here and I've been
- 10:10Speaker 3: at five other rooms and it's not like this, Like
- 10:13Speaker 3: that was awesome, And I think, I mean I might
- 10:16Speaker 3: be wrong, but I think they're cutting Ben Jones today too,
- 10:19Speaker 3: So that locker rooms ton.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely got you established offensive line.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah you still got Ruse and Corey and Dylan. Those
- 10:27Speaker 3: guys are gonna do a good job of like keeping
- 10:30Speaker 3: the vibes of the room together and stuff like that.
- 10:31Speaker 3: But yeah, it's just different. It seems like the Titans
- 10:35Speaker 3: are gonna be uh in a unique position, especially the
- 10:40Speaker 3: off the line category. To find out what's gonna happen.
- 10:42Speaker 1: There, figure got to spend some money and draft and
- 10:45Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah see what about Uh what about the fans? What
- 10:50Speaker 3: about them? In years with the fans?
- 10:51Speaker 2: What about them?
- 10:52Speaker 3: No, the fans are I mean.
- 10:54Speaker 8: Mostly ups outside of the boo Yeah yeah, no, no, no,
- 10:58Speaker 8: I would say like it's a it's an over normally
- 11:00Speaker 8: positive like things have been.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Like I'm not always gonna be everyone's cup of tea.
- 11:04Speaker 9: Like I.
- 11:04Speaker 3: People want the offensive tackle that's going to just be
- 11:06Speaker 3: seen not heard type vibes, and I respect that one
- 11:09Speaker 3: hundred percent, but like it. Uh, I think I've said
- 11:12Speaker 3: this a whole bunch of I don't think I could
- 11:13Speaker 3: have gone to any other franchise and had the success
- 11:17Speaker 3: on the field because how I was able to be
- 11:19Speaker 3: on and off the field to allow just a loot
- 11:22Speaker 3: of me, allow me to be myself.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And I think Tennessee let me have that.
- 11:24Speaker 3: So definitely feel like it was just open arms the
- 11:28Speaker 3: entire time, and it was absolutely incredible. I loved I
- 11:31Speaker 3: loved every bit of being a part of this franchise.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And you know, guys leave like when you came from
- 11:36Speaker 3: the Redskins and racked on Hey, I didn't like that here,
- 11:39Speaker 3: Like it's not it's not a big media franchise, it's
- 11:42Speaker 3: not you know, the city isn't like overwhelmed with Titan pride,
- 11:48Speaker 3: but like it's grown every single year. And that's like
- 11:50Speaker 3: it was really cool to be a part of because
- 11:52Speaker 3: it was non existent when I first got here, and
- 11:55Speaker 3: you know, you feel like you're part of you were
- 11:56Speaker 3: a part of that in some sort of way, like
- 11:58Speaker 3: you feel like you were up of making that happen
- 12:01Speaker 3: and like bringing like the kind of vibe that the
- 12:03Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans representing that Like I feel like I was
- 12:06Speaker 3: a big piece in that. And so I'm I'm extremely grateful,
- 12:10Speaker 3: extremely but and in a weird way, like I feel
- 12:15Speaker 3: really happy right now. I'm just happy that I was
- 12:18Speaker 3: in a relationship and I'm I left that relationship better
- 12:22Speaker 3: than the way I found it, And that is I
- 12:25Speaker 3: think the most important thing is that I put something.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I was brought somewhere to do a task, and I
- 12:31Speaker 3: did my task well enough to where to help change
- 12:33Speaker 3: your franchise.
- 12:34Speaker 2: And that is something that I'm extremely proud of.
- 12:36Speaker 4: You should be man. Nine years on one team.
- 12:39Speaker 3: That's that's cool. That's really cool.
- 12:41Speaker 8: I mean it's like the one percent of the one
- 12:42Speaker 8: percent of the way, so I remember we were. It's
- 12:49Speaker 8: just crazy. It's it's wild.
- 12:51Speaker 3: And to think about playing for another team like it
- 12:54Speaker 3: looked he's exciting. Like I've said, like I only want
- 12:56Speaker 3: to play for one team and stuff like that. But
- 12:57Speaker 3: like the if I still have the juice and I
- 13:00Speaker 3: can get my kne to feel the way I think
- 13:02Speaker 3: it should, where I feel confident enough to go play football,
- 13:06Speaker 3: then if then I have no issue going to play
- 13:08Speaker 3: somewhere else. What a you saying that now?
- 13:10Speaker 1: What new awareness do you feel like you have and
- 13:12Speaker 1: being able to say that now because probably a year ago,
- 13:14Speaker 1: I know when I listened to that the radio segment
- 13:17Speaker 1: that was taken very well by everybody, and everybody's like,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know, loyal to the soil, I want to play
- 13:20Speaker 1: for one jr Or one color and all that kind
- 13:23Speaker 1: of stuff. What new awareness do you think you found
- 13:25Speaker 1: to make you say like I'm excited to play for
- 13:26Speaker 1: somebody else or like getting the knee, you know, YEA, having.
- 13:31Speaker 3: The opportunity to play for somebody else is what I'm
- 13:33Speaker 3: most excited for, Like seeing who else out there wants
- 13:35Speaker 3: me and respects my game and well enough to call
- 13:38Speaker 3: and say this is what we'll pay you to play
- 13:40Speaker 3: a position that we've seen your product and we know
- 13:43Speaker 3: you're good at. And so that's a that's a great feeling, uh,
- 13:46Speaker 3: the loyal Like I'm still loyal. I'm still like if
- 13:48Speaker 3: I let's say, I do go play somewhere else, cut
- 13:50Speaker 3: you open, it's two tone blue. Yeah that's what it is. Yeah,
- 13:53Speaker 3: I'm looking type of guy. So like that has not
- 13:57Speaker 3: changed at all. It is just one of those things
- 13:59Speaker 3: where the relationship is over and I could, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 3: I could go and sulk and be upset and just
- 14:07Speaker 3: call it quits, or I can call it quits and
- 14:10Speaker 3: be happy, or I can go play and be happy.
- 14:12Speaker 3: But like, though, though that first option is not an
- 14:14Speaker 3: option for me. I don't I don't want to sit
- 14:17Speaker 3: there and dwell and dwell and worry and and and
- 14:20Speaker 3: think like all the whole the whole world's ending. And
- 14:22Speaker 3: the reality is there's gonna be multiple teams out there
- 14:24Speaker 3: that want my services. Yeah, and I'm good enough to
- 14:27Speaker 3: do that. So that's like that's an awesome feeling.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Should be you know, It's like it's weird because just Tennessee,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I know I know, like I'm sitting here, it's like
- 14:38Speaker 1: sinking in a little bit more.
- 14:39Speaker 4: I'm like, damn, Like it's fucking like what a run.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I know because we were sitting there in Cabo when
- 14:43Speaker 3: we were talking about it and how it was like
- 14:46Speaker 3: we're just trying to figure out how I feel, because
- 14:48Speaker 3: I would tell you like I'm sad, but I'm also
- 14:51Speaker 3: like not as sad as I thought i'd be, like
- 14:53Speaker 3: all these other things, and it's like, yeah, I'm bummed
- 14:55Speaker 3: out it's over, but like I've mourned it and it's
- 14:59Speaker 3: just it's just done. And so like instead of like
- 15:03Speaker 3: it's the cliche line of like smile because it happened,
- 15:05Speaker 3: don't cry because it's a vert type thing. Yeah, and
- 15:08Speaker 3: so like it's I'm super I'm extremely grateful, extremely grateful.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It's like the analogy too, like when change happens, like
- 15:15Speaker 1: anxiety builds and you've done this and know where it is.
- 15:17Speaker 1: It's like, you know, the analogy of the lights being
- 15:19Speaker 1: off and you're trying to find your way boys and
- 15:20Speaker 1: lights come on. You see everything that happen. You're like, Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: it's not near as bad as I was thinking it's
- 15:24Speaker 1: going to.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Be right, Like this is allowed me to zoom out
- 15:28Speaker 3: even further, Like when you get hurt, like you're able
- 15:30Speaker 3: to zoom out and kind of see the team more
- 15:33Speaker 3: as a whole, except for like your own of an
- 15:35Speaker 3: individual self or if you're even able to the whole
- 15:37Speaker 3: the whole entire group you're playing with. When you get hurt,
- 15:40Speaker 3: you can see the whole team. And now I can
- 15:41Speaker 3: see kind of everything's just more clear. And I never
- 15:47Speaker 3: once was like, oh no, the Titans loved me so much,
- 15:49Speaker 3: they're not going to cut me, like we understood. We've
- 15:51Speaker 3: understood that for a long long time. But you can't
- 15:53Speaker 3: love the franchise because the franchise is going to fuck
- 15:55Speaker 3: you eventually. Yeah, I can't. Right, that's for the game, obviously,
- 15:59Speaker 3: that's for the But I always, I will always love
- 16:03Speaker 3: the Satsty Titan franchise, and I always I could be
- 16:05Speaker 3: so grateful. But I don't know. I don't know if
- 16:09Speaker 3: I'm in a play or not. I just know that
- 16:11Speaker 3: I'm excited to see the opportunities I would have if
- 16:13Speaker 3: I were to play healthy and get money healthy. But yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 3: other than that, I don't know, if you guys, if
- 16:18Speaker 3: you guys have any questions.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna Garrett a being being like, you know.
- 16:22Speaker 7: Titan guys, Titans like one of the boys about a decade.
- 16:26Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, I feel like I've known Taylor for
- 16:29Speaker 10: a decade, but I've only known him for like three years,
- 16:32Speaker 10: and I think it's cool to see someone who's progressed
- 16:35Speaker 10: our franchise in like such a positive direction.
- 16:38Speaker 5: The first two years Taylor was here.
- 16:40Speaker 10: We won a total of five games, and before that
- 16:43Speaker 10: it wasn't much better.
- 16:44Speaker 5: I mean, the best we could get was maybe an
- 16:46Speaker 5: eight and.
- 16:46Speaker 10: Eight season, and at that point in our lives, we
- 16:48Speaker 10: were content with eight and eight. You and a handful
- 16:53Speaker 10: of others and coaches alike, took this franchise from being
- 16:56Speaker 10: a low level market team with not much promise to
- 17:00Speaker 10: being a notworthy Sunday night Monday night football team, a
- 17:04Speaker 10: team that people wanted to see that they gathered around.
- 17:08Speaker 10: We were kind of like the underdog, but we had
- 17:09Speaker 10: something to prove. It's just crazy that over the last
- 17:14Speaker 10: nine years you've been here. Like I said, it's like
- 17:16Speaker 10: I knew you for so much longer before I actually
- 17:19Speaker 10: knew you. Then to get to know you as like
- 17:21Speaker 10: a friend and like a boss, and like even like
- 17:24Speaker 10: a mentor. It's it's been an honor because people for
- 17:28Speaker 10: so long like had the wrong idea about you.
- 17:31Speaker 5: I feel like and you.
- 17:33Speaker 10: Gave off that that energy first the first few years.
- 17:37Speaker 10: But like, I'll die on the hill against anybody you know,
- 17:40Speaker 10: defending you because you're like one of the best guys.
- 17:42Speaker 4: I know.
- 17:43Speaker 10: You've taken the city to new heights. You made the
- 17:46Speaker 10: O line position cool, and that's a fact. I hope
- 17:50Speaker 10: that I see nothing but overwhelmingly positive stuff on socials
- 17:54Speaker 10: and in life. I've already gotten a handful of text
- 17:56Speaker 10: My brother in law wants to congratulate you too. I
- 17:59Speaker 10: know you've never maybe met him once. You've made an
- 18:02Speaker 10: impact on the city. Truly, they will take a long
- 18:05Speaker 10: long time to replace. And I'm super proud of like
- 18:09Speaker 10: where you've gone and what's to come, whether it's football
- 18:12Speaker 10: or something else. But it's truly been a pleasure seeing
- 18:16Speaker 10: you as a fan and then growing to be a
- 18:18Speaker 10: close friend.
- 18:19Speaker 5: So thank you man, it's been.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Thank you Jack.
- 18:28Speaker 11: I can't follow that a lot of those same emotions
- 18:31Speaker 11: for sure. Again, just like I don't even know how
- 18:35Speaker 11: old I was like when we first drafted you, and
- 18:37Speaker 11: then now it's just like it was like a weird
- 18:40Speaker 11: full circle thing of yeah, rooting for you, working with you, friendships,
- 18:44Speaker 11: and it's just like, I don't know, it's cool. I've
- 18:47Speaker 11: never gotten to like see a friend hit a point
- 18:50Speaker 11: like this in their career where it's like, uh, I
- 18:53Speaker 11: don't know, like you get to say like you did it,
- 18:55Speaker 11: like you fucking reached your goal, like you did it.
- 18:57Speaker 11: It's fucking awesome to see from like an inside circle.
- 19:01Speaker 11: So just yeah, like proud of you, dude.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Appreciate that. Yeah, super nice. Can we get a moment
- 19:07Speaker 3: of silence?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Tailowan? Are you leave?
- 19:08Speaker 4: The greatest left tackle in Titans history?
- 19:15Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Is uh? Is Taylor dead?
- 19:23Speaker 9: No?
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I'm back, dude, I'm fucking back again.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I'm back. We get more alive than ever. We get
- 19:30Speaker 2: to bring back all right, Taylor?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, no, dude, please don't do that. Please don't do
- 19:37Speaker 3: that again. They got it away, think got it faded
- 19:41Speaker 3: away for a little bit, alright, Tayloran. So, I mean,
- 19:46Speaker 3: I I would love to sit here and just basking
- 19:48Speaker 3: my greatness for then another twenty five minutes. But I
- 19:51Speaker 3: feel like, thank you so much, Jack Garrett, all the
- 19:55Speaker 3: boys back there that have supported. I know you guys
- 19:57Speaker 3: didn't grow up Titans fans, but it was really cool
- 19:58Speaker 3: hearing from the two of you. I've already given you
- 20:01Speaker 3: the flyers you deserve. I've already given those're my best friend.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We're the boys, man a universal shout out, no fore
- 20:09Speaker 1: shout out this for this episode.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Taylor Lawan, all right, fair enough, god tear shout out?
- 20:15Speaker 10: Man?
- 20:15Speaker 3: Thanks? Boys? Are we doing a shout out? No free
- 20:19Speaker 3: shout out before the Max Homa podcast tear talk?
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think we need to figure out a tear talk.
- 20:28Speaker 7: Hey, best Tai moments, Yeah, let's get We'll let Taylor
- 20:37Speaker 7: go first, and that way we can get all of
- 20:38Speaker 7: ours stepperly so he can't play off.
- 20:42Speaker 12: My favorite moments of me. Let me give you your favorite
- 20:46Speaker 12: moments of my career, your career as a Titan. All right,
- 20:53Speaker 12: let me think about this.
- 20:56Speaker 2: For sure. All right, break it is just bust.
- 21:14Speaker 5: It's whatever you wanted to be.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I feel like if it's not, it's a good cycle.
- 21:29Speaker 6: You guys actually like, I'm dead favorite tailor of the
- 21:32Speaker 6: one moment.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Story about yeah yeah, that was a force moment for her.
- 21:44Speaker 4: These are gonna be around him being tight and yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we we did that part.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Man.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Hap the other time I found a picture.
- 21:57Speaker 4: I haven't heard and you saw her in the same
- 22:00Speaker 4: the Yeah.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the first jelly Roll podcast. Fair, this is
- 22:13Speaker 3: all right? Tier three would be, oh, you're doing it?
- 22:18Speaker 3: I mean, I guess, so I'm just gonna do mine
- 22:20Speaker 3: so I can get it over with. I don't want
- 22:21Speaker 3: to do mine, all right.
- 22:22Speaker 1: The tier talk this week is favorite Taylor Lewan Tennessee
- 22:26Speaker 1: Titan moments to start it off, will be the man himself,
- 22:31Speaker 1: Taylor Lewan.
- 22:34Speaker 3: All right, My Tier three is going to be Derek's
- 22:36Speaker 3: ninety nine yard run.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Nah, all right? Yeah?
- 22:39Speaker 3: Tier three, yeah, that would be nine year run, Tier
- 22:43Speaker 3: two Pro Bowls, and then Tier three or Tier one
- 22:51Speaker 3: would be Derek's two thousand yard season.
- 22:55Speaker 4: All right, off your knees for Derek. Hey, listen one
- 22:59Speaker 4: of them, coach brother.
- 23:05Speaker 3: No, I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Are you guys ready?
- 23:12Speaker 11: I'd say for me, Tier three is gonna be when
- 23:15Speaker 11: you got Richard Sherman's face. That just was kind of
- 23:19Speaker 11: like a tone setter, and it kind of told everybody like,
- 23:23Speaker 11: you know, don't fuck with Taylor type thing, which I
- 23:26Speaker 11: always appreciate that here Two is gonna be Derek's ninety
- 23:31Speaker 11: nine just because I hearing you say they y'all call
- 23:35Speaker 11: it that. That's a cool moment for you personally. And
- 23:38Speaker 11: then one is gonna be you flipping off the skycam.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Damn Yeah, that's a goe.
- 23:49Speaker 10: My honorable mention, which might not be on par but
- 23:55Speaker 10: it was when we went to Pensacola and for anyone
- 23:57Speaker 10: who doesn't know that, that was when you tore your
- 23:59Speaker 10: first c CL but me and Gary.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Went down there for the week with you all.
- 24:03Speaker 10: I feel like that was the first time we like
- 24:05Speaker 10: all really started kicking it and it was like boss
- 24:08Speaker 10: friend so shout out in Scola. Three probably Richard Sherman,
- 24:14Speaker 10: especially because back then with Mariota, he was kind of
- 24:18Speaker 10: our golden boy and you stood out for him. That
- 24:20Speaker 10: was that was epic skycam to really showed who you were,
- 24:25Speaker 10: didn't give a fuck, but it was funny. Number one's
- 24:28Speaker 10: gotta be Josh Norman. It was to me, not only
- 24:33Speaker 10: for your personal brand, but one of the most iconic
- 24:36Speaker 10: Titans moments in the last twenty years. When I watch
- 24:40Speaker 10: it on that video, it gets me so high because
- 24:42Speaker 10: you're so nonchalant, you throw the arrow and he comes
- 24:45Speaker 10: over trying to like throw hands and you just turn
- 24:47Speaker 10: around and he's still trying to jab at you and
- 24:50Speaker 10: you're just kind of walking off like sorry, And then
- 24:54Speaker 10: he ended up getting got again by Derek.
- 24:56Speaker 5: I think the next season that would be my my
- 25:00Speaker 5: top three.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Just Josh Sam, we're just taking strays, got it again in.
- 25:04Speaker 3: The next er. Yeah, he's on the bills, all right.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I think Williams the last one to go.
- 25:10Speaker 2: No, you guys gotta go.
- 25:16Speaker 13: My Tier three is probably gonna be Josh Norman for sure.
- 25:20Speaker 13: That that moment. The first time I started working for
- 25:22Speaker 13: the podcast, I remember googling for YouTube in your name
- 25:25Speaker 13: and that clip just came up and I was just
- 25:27Speaker 13: watching over. I was like, oh damn, this is crazy.
- 25:29Speaker 13: So that would be Tier three for me. Tier two
- 25:32Speaker 13: would be the skycam the flip off. I just thought
- 25:35Speaker 13: that was an epic moment. I don't think anybody has
- 25:37Speaker 13: even remotely come close to doing something like that. And
- 25:40Speaker 13: then Tier one would be watching YouTube play against each
- 25:43Speaker 13: other live and uh, that brief interaction y'all had on
- 25:47Speaker 13: the Bowl.
- 25:48Speaker 3: So the NFL busting Bowl, Yeah yeah, Raiders, Raiders.
- 25:55Speaker 14: So I'm obviously not as big I haven't been around
- 25:58Speaker 14: as long as all these guys have, but my Tier
- 26:00Speaker 14: three would probably be that that that NFL Films clip
- 26:05Speaker 14: of you talking of Rabel and what's the game plan there?
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's my tier three.
- 26:16Speaker 14: Tier two is the Josh Norman and tier one, uh
- 26:19Speaker 14: is when you were going round to the refs, point
- 26:21Speaker 14: at you ruined it, You.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Ruined its party going last.
- 26:26Speaker 3: What was your Tier two? Just okay here?
- 26:30Speaker 2: Three for me probably Miami when he got knocked out.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Fuck zer.
- 26:41Speaker 15: Three is probably the Richard Sherman, Tier two Josh Norman,
- 26:45Speaker 15: and tier one is.
- 26:46Speaker 2: The the refs.
- 26:47Speaker 15: The ref clip is like something that's going to be
- 26:49Speaker 15: posted forever because nobody will probably ever do it again,
- 26:52Speaker 15: and like it takes, I don't know, it's like special
- 26:56Speaker 15: to have something that can live forever, and that's one
- 26:58Speaker 15: of them.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I'm glad that most game clip. Oh Josh, fuck, I
- 27:08Speaker 3: thought Will was gonna do all the times I got.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Hurt, I know, in low key, always wanting to do
- 27:12Speaker 1: a funny one by being in Miami when you got
- 27:15Speaker 1: knocked out and you know you were crying, Just come
- 27:19Speaker 1: over here, sorry you were there.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Yeah, m hmm.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Longest game in NFL history.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of like some stuff that might
- 27:30Speaker 1: not be out there as much, but it's like it's
- 27:33Speaker 1: tough to top all.
- 27:34Speaker 3: The account of Billy Buddies. Yeah, account of Billy Buddies
- 27:40Speaker 3: that's in the Times facility.
- 27:42Speaker 1: That's a good point. Yeah, he's a really good point.
- 27:47Speaker 1: All your boys in the locker room to think I
- 27:51Speaker 1: have to think like about all those things. My honorable mention,
- 28:06Speaker 1: what do you.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Got Ah, that's true.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, My honorable mention is, uh, when you were Santa Claus.
- 28:25Speaker 3: And I was playing the Hypeman music.
- 28:26Speaker 4: With the lose yourself, like when you're talking about milk
- 28:29Speaker 4: or some.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Milk cookies, all my milk, dude, Yeah, my.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Tier three, My Tier three yugging off the catfish? Does
- 28:45Speaker 1: that does that count? Do we get the count yugging
- 28:48Speaker 1: off the catfish? I think that's another one that'll that'll
- 28:50Speaker 1: be like yeah, yeah, yeah, something that'll always be at
- 28:54Speaker 1: anytime the prints are going to the playoffs. So you
- 28:55Speaker 1: talk about the catfish like that video will always be played.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Tier two accounta bill of Buddies.
- 29:04Speaker 3: That was awesome.
- 29:04Speaker 1: You were like, uh, that was the first time you
- 29:06Speaker 1: heard We had probably both heard of account of Billy Buddy.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Maybe maybe not.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I think that's where account of Billy Buddy started.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of tough because now that's like a
- 29:16Speaker 1: personal thing and then like it's like one is what
- 29:19Speaker 1: us meeting and growing together over our love for podcasting time.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But my tier one is you on the sideline cheering
- 29:26Speaker 1: me on as I'm covering a kickoff. Yeah, man, that
- 29:33Speaker 1: list is tough because I love the middle finger.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I love Uh.
- 29:39Speaker 1: My tier two will be this, actually what I say,
- 29:42Speaker 1: account a Bilby take the accounta Bilbuddy off. My tier
- 29:44Speaker 1: two is you playing the violin for Jalen Ramsey. I
- 29:46Speaker 1: thought Jalen flopping and then you thinking on your feet
- 29:50Speaker 1: hitting the violin, solid move, unreal And then yeah, my
- 29:54Speaker 1: tier one, I'm gonna hold true with that. You cheered
- 29:57Speaker 1: me on on the sideline as I'm covering kickoffs. I
- 30:02Speaker 1: know the touchdowns A good one.
- 30:04Speaker 2: What did I say? Three?
- 30:05Speaker 4: Was chugging the catfish? Honorable mention.
- 30:08Speaker 2: You got some good.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Moments, man, you got some good ones out there, good moments.
- 30:12Speaker 3: That was cool. Which what are you talking about? Oh no,
- 30:25Speaker 3: I didn't know what to do. I had to put
- 30:26Speaker 3: my arms up.
- 30:27Speaker 2: That was before we started, I was like, I was like,
- 30:28Speaker 2: I a disk.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Kept doing the from Miami, like you know, getting knocked
- 30:33Speaker 1: out of Miami the first time you tore your CeAl
- 30:36Speaker 1: and you're just laying there helplessly. Then you're like getting
- 30:38Speaker 1: knocked out in the Bills game. Or is that when
- 30:40Speaker 1: you went off on the stretcher. Yeah you say.
- 30:43Speaker 2: That, like you just do those.
- 30:46Speaker 4: You had a lot of fucking moments, bro, Yeah it
- 30:50Speaker 4: was cool.
- 30:51Speaker 1: A lot of creators out there can go a lot
- 30:52Speaker 1: of ways direction with like Taylor Lewan Tennessee Titan highlights. Yeah, yeah, Jack,
- 31:02Speaker 1: you gotta get that one, the five minute one.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Up for like, uh his highlight.
- 31:09Speaker 1: You know how dudes have their highlights on YouTube? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 1: like how people get the highlights.
- 31:14Speaker 10: I need to make it into a vertical I mean,
- 31:17Speaker 10: not vertical, horizontal.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Right now, this is a good tear talk. I don't
- 31:23Speaker 3: know how you felt about it.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I think it's it's it's it's nice, even though might
- 31:27Speaker 1: feel uncomfortable.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I know you're not listening right now.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm listening.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Like everybody just talking about you and your flowers and
- 31:34Speaker 1: all this stuff.
- 31:35Speaker 4: But it's well deserved. Like nine years bro, like you
- 31:37Speaker 4: deserve all of it.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I'm Appycire, you deserve all the praise, all the good words, everything,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and it does. It's like it's surreal that your time
- 31:45Speaker 1: in Tennessee has come to an end.
- 31:47Speaker 3: It's just fucking just wild. Yeah, it's bound to happen
- 31:50Speaker 3: eventually to anybody. Yeah, it's just one of those we
- 31:53Speaker 3: talk about it. The things you wish is you could
- 31:55Speaker 3: just rewrite the last few years. Yeah, but it has
- 31:58Speaker 3: been awesome. It has been a great run. Can you
- 32:01Speaker 3: up all the moments last for ever?
- 32:02Speaker 1: It's like twenty nineteen season, the team, the camaraderie, you
- 32:05Speaker 1: hope that continues to go. But even like you know,
- 32:09Speaker 1: the Chiefs winning and having the parade the next day,
- 32:11Speaker 1: they still got to go in and be like man
- 32:13Speaker 1: ell of a year.
- 32:14Speaker 3: We get to look back on fondly.
- 32:15Speaker 1: But it's like every every fucking great thing, no matter what,
- 32:18Speaker 1: has to come doing in the Patriots, the Patriots and
- 32:22Speaker 1: you know you guys kind of ended that.
- 32:25Speaker 4: I'm meant to go somewhere else. Yeah, yeah, should we
- 32:29Speaker 4: talk about Max MoMA, anything else?
- 32:32Speaker 2: Anything else?
- 32:32Speaker 3: We're missing Max Homer? No, you're ready to get out
- 32:36Speaker 3: of there. No, it's been it's been amazing. I really
- 32:38Speaker 3: do appreciate so much. And there's gonna be times where speridment. Man,
- 32:41Speaker 3: I wish I just let them talk more. But I
- 32:43Speaker 3: feel like you guys have said such incredible things and
- 32:46Speaker 3: it's been a it's been amazing. It really has been incredible,
- 32:48Speaker 3: and I'm super grateful.
- 32:49Speaker 1: So it's almost like, what do we do now once
- 32:52Speaker 1: when you retire one day? Yeah, running back, but it's
- 32:58Speaker 1: crazy you get to have like all these kinds of
- 33:01Speaker 1: conversations based around like one team for nine years.
- 33:04Speaker 3: That's cool. Yeah, yeah, Max Oma, we can we can pivot. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 3: outstanding individual right got second place this past weekend had
- 33:15Speaker 3: him on the bus and at the super Bowl. But
- 33:19Speaker 3: the day before that he was on part of My
- 33:21Speaker 3: Take and Big Cat was saying he's a bit of
- 33:23Speaker 3: a podcast for he.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Did he did, that's branding.
- 33:27Speaker 3: That's branding. Yes, he makes.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Golf, Like I don't watch golf, but I feel like
- 33:35Speaker 1: I follow it more now just because Max is in
- 33:37Speaker 1: it ten days since he's been on. Yeah, he has
- 33:39Speaker 1: fun on social media like he had he like he
- 33:42Speaker 1: knows how to make jokes like he does all like
- 33:45Speaker 1: I don't know, he makes that shift seem.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Cool to Yeah, Max, this is one thing on social
- 33:48Speaker 3: media where he he rates people's swings and just absolutely
- 33:52Speaker 3: murders them. It's the funniest shit in the world.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Max is hilarious.
- 33:56Speaker 3: He was great to have on the podcast. I honestly
- 33:58Speaker 3: that we get such a blur. I forget what we
- 33:59Speaker 3: talked about.
- 34:00Speaker 2: He was he was delivering some juice.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he was delivering some juice.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Growing up in the game of golf and talking about
- 34:07Speaker 1: how you make it, you know, for the younger generations
- 34:10Speaker 1: because he's talked about being at the like clubs and
- 34:12Speaker 1: stuff like that, and some of the older generation people
- 34:14Speaker 1: don't want to have the patience for like the younger
- 34:16Speaker 1: kids who are there.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Trying to learn.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yeah, what do I keep looking at Garrett because I'm
- 34:20Speaker 1: you know, I know Garrett Garrett is like our golf
- 34:22Speaker 1: analyst on this podcast, and uh, I felt Garrett would
- 34:26Speaker 1: remember some of this stuff too, But that week was
- 34:28Speaker 1: very much a blur with everybody who was coming on.
- 34:31Speaker 11: He talked a lot about y'all asked him like getting
- 34:33Speaker 11: into the game, like who was pivotal for him. He
- 34:36Speaker 11: talked about tiger Woods obviously kind of like making golf
- 34:38Speaker 11: cool and then yeah, talked about waste management and how
- 34:42Speaker 11: he thinks it's important for EGA in general just to
- 34:46Speaker 11: get fans in it. He will ask him if golf
- 34:51Speaker 11: was a real sport. Yea, yeah, he played into that
- 34:55Speaker 11: answer really well.
- 34:56Speaker 2: He didn't play I think he just answered the question.
- 34:59Speaker 11: Yay, yeah, huh, very good answer, like fuck, no, it
- 35:04Speaker 11: didn't piss.
- 35:05Speaker 2: It was more of like a start off Garrett the room.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Garrett left the room.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Do you remember that. Yeah, we didn't see him the
- 35:11Speaker 3: rest of the day. He had to show back to
- 35:12Speaker 3: the next day.
- 35:12Speaker 2: And then in the driving range. Yeah, yeah, but no,
- 35:16Speaker 2: Max was sweet. Yeah, tough, tough l this past weekend,
- 35:21Speaker 2: but put a lot of passion on the course. Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 11: His post game or post round stuff is special. It
- 35:28Speaker 11: just shows like I don't know how hard golf is
- 35:30Speaker 11: and yeah, committed here bro.
- 35:32Speaker 3: He just yeah, he's authentic, authentic. He's got a good
- 35:35Speaker 3: mindset to the way he was talking how he used
- 35:36Speaker 3: to be compared to now his caddy shout at his
- 35:40Speaker 3: fucking caddy, dude, him being there, being able to bitch
- 35:43Speaker 3: him out, telling him story, telling us stories about how
- 35:46Speaker 3: he was in the course losing his mind and his
- 35:47Speaker 3: Caddy basically called him a little pussy and then fucking
- 35:49Speaker 3: they went out, went out and won. It's just awesome, dude,
- 35:52Speaker 3: it's his best friend. That's fucking rad. Yeah.
- 35:54Speaker 1: They stuck the other whole time. Yeah, and the biggest
- 35:57Speaker 1: takeaway golf. He did say golf is not a real sport.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I would have waited to let them see that on
- 36:03Speaker 3: the episode. But I think that's yeah, but that's for
- 36:09Speaker 3: you guys to decide it's golf a real sport or not.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Max Holmo says it's not. What do you think? What
- 36:15Speaker 3: do you think? Is it a real sport? Yeah? Uh,
- 36:18Speaker 3: you know, it's like a leisurely hobby that's me make
- 36:22Speaker 3: a lot of money doing. Yeah, you know, I don't
- 36:25Speaker 3: like golf. Golf people that have made it.
- 36:28Speaker 4: But you're gonna have to get out of that box.
- 36:30Speaker 1: You just digging in and uh, you know.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Brother, who's got time? Who's got time for three hours
- 36:37Speaker 3: just spending a course?
- 36:38Speaker 2: You do? No?
- 36:39Speaker 7: No, brother, Yeah no, dude started banging on the on
- 36:46Speaker 7: the door.
- 36:50Speaker 3: That fucking video.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Oh man. Yeah, but you did they hate on golf.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's one of those things
- 36:56Speaker 1: you've leaned in on so hard you gotta you stick
- 36:58Speaker 1: with it.
- 36:59Speaker 3: But it's like, I don't know, it gets such undeserved
- 37:01Speaker 3: hay bit. I'll go do golf. I want to do
- 37:03Speaker 3: a standbager with the boys that uh spit and chick litz.
- 37:05Speaker 3: I want to do all that. It'll be fun all golf.
- 37:08Speaker 3: I'll try it. I'm not gonna like it. You're gonna
- 37:12Speaker 3: like it.
- 37:12Speaker 11: Golf has a lot of things that you enjoy, though.
- 37:15Speaker 11: What's that Garrett, camaraderie, the boys being outside drinking.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I don't like drinking. Ope? Can I we're gonna go
- 37:26Speaker 3: tarps off?
- 37:27Speaker 2: Absolutely, you can't go.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I mean maybe in a couple.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Spots you can go tarps off. Last group of the day.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Yeah. The thing I don't like is the goddamn collared shirts.
- 37:37Speaker 3: You don't have the slacks, you don't have to.
- 37:42Speaker 2: You look good.
- 37:44Speaker 3: I don't want to do that, dude. Anyway, this is
- 37:47Speaker 3: not about we're getting back to me. I don't know
- 37:49Speaker 3: how I fucking diok that again, dude, do that again.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I think you guys have enjoyed it, enjoyed this intro,
- 37:57Speaker 3: and this is a reminder to you that from now
- 37:59Speaker 3: on and till we say we're gonna stop.
- 38:01Speaker 2: We're doing two.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Days, two weeks, two weeks, two pods a week, releasing
- 38:05Speaker 3: on Tuesday, releasing on Thursday. And drink our whistle pig whiskey,
- 38:10Speaker 3: whistle whiskey. Yeah, it's warming up. You know what that means.
- 38:13Speaker 3: That means the whiskey's gonna change it a little bit.
- 38:15Speaker 3: It's gonna go with you. It's gonna ebbs and flow
- 38:17Speaker 3: for seasons. Boys, cool down. You guys have a good one.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Subscribe rate five stars. Please blast this thing, blast the comments,
- 38:26Speaker 3: Tell a friend, Tell ten friends now, because hey, we
- 38:29Speaker 3: don't got money coming in from the NFL anymore. We
- 38:31Speaker 3: got we need this more than ever. So for the
- 38:34Speaker 3: love of God, please tell a friend and subscribe to
- 38:37Speaker 3: this fucking podcast. I love you, big hugs, tiny kisses. Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 3: we were talking about Rob Moujie, my high school buddy.
- 38:43Speaker 2: He now legend.
- 38:45Speaker 3: He's been mentioned on this podcast several time. Incredible guy.
- 38:48Speaker 3: You know Rob, He's in the Gulf world. But we're
- 38:51Speaker 3: talking about, uh, the sectomies. Yeah, so let's let's let's
- 38:54Speaker 3: get over that real quick. How many kids do you have?
- 38:56Speaker 3: You have one kid?
- 38:58Speaker 2: How many more kids do you want?
- 39:00Speaker 3: Damn?
- 39:01Speaker 2: No more? Than one more.
- 39:02Speaker 16: Really yeah, I'm not, I think, but I think it's
- 39:05Speaker 16: a product of like I grew up in a two
- 39:06Speaker 16: kid household, and that my wife she was cool with
- 39:10Speaker 16: three because she grew up in a three kid household,
- 39:14Speaker 16: but now she's pretty much on two. I could do
- 39:16Speaker 16: just one, I think. But I'm also in like the
- 39:19Speaker 16: three and a half I mean, you're in the three
- 39:21Speaker 16: and a half month grind right now, where it's like
- 39:24Speaker 16: it's just getting a little less hard, so I can
- 39:27Speaker 16: see like the light at like, oh this is really fun.
- 39:29Speaker 16: But so many people I feel like the day you
- 39:31Speaker 16: have your kid, you're like it's a gray stay of
- 39:33Speaker 16: your life, Like everything's just like gravy from here. And
- 39:36Speaker 16: it's like, I think you guys forgot about how hard
- 39:38Speaker 16: the month is where you don't sleep like at all,
- 39:41Speaker 16: like not like like if you got an hour you're like,
- 39:44Speaker 16: oh man, I feel so good, and it's like you
- 39:46Speaker 16: I think people forget. But now that you get that
- 39:48Speaker 16: over that three month hump, I could see having a
- 39:50Speaker 16: second one, but right away people are like.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Oh man, like you know how many you gonna have?
- 39:54Speaker 2: I'm like one one. I'm cool, Like this is impossible.
- 39:58Speaker 2: There's a uh.
- 39:59Speaker 4: You know.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Any Sandberg is a comedian and he was on a
- 40:01Speaker 3: like a late talk show one time and he was
- 40:03Speaker 3: talking about having a kid and as like your your
- 40:05Speaker 3: wife is pregnant. One's like, it's a blessing. It's gonna
- 40:08Speaker 3: be the greatest day of your life. And then once
- 40:09Speaker 3: the kids born, everyone's like welcome to hell. Like they
- 40:11Speaker 3: just trick you into like also getting into hell. That
- 40:13Speaker 3: dude that first six months, I mean, Willi's coming up,
- 40:16Speaker 3: his daughter's about to be a year.
- 40:17Speaker 2: I got a five year old and already, yeah, I
- 40:20Speaker 2: went you were like in my boat for you almost months.
- 40:25Speaker 3: You get to that six month mark really like the
- 40:28Speaker 3: first six months is like keep just keep it alive,
- 40:31Speaker 3: like you gotta feed it, poop it, make sure it's
- 40:34Speaker 3: like breathing at all times. And then like once you
- 40:36Speaker 3: get to six months, that's when like the personality really
- 40:38Speaker 3: starts to show. You get the smiles when you walk
- 40:40Speaker 3: in the door type thing. But I got a five
- 40:42Speaker 3: year old and it's like full blown, like it's my
- 40:45Speaker 3: little buddy.
- 40:45Speaker 2: We're ripping it.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we have conversations. She's in a pokemon like it's
- 40:49Speaker 3: like a nice little it's a cool deal.
- 40:50Speaker 16: Yeah, because that's like intro like having similar interests. You
- 40:54Speaker 16: do have the pooping thing aligned. I do like to poop.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you are that wi me.
- 40:59Speaker 16: But I'm saying he all so likes it, like that's
- 41:01Speaker 16: our similarity, Like that's our link right now. But the
- 41:04Speaker 16: problem is is, like you know, he has someone wipe
- 41:07Speaker 16: his own ass for him, and I still have to
- 41:09Speaker 16: I have to do both of those things.
- 41:10Speaker 2: So that's where we're kind of misaligned.
- 41:12Speaker 16: Is I feel like it's like a it's like for him,
- 41:15Speaker 16: it's just straight up forty Yeah, I have to work
- 41:19Speaker 16: a little bit.
- 41:20Speaker 14: You know.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so he hasn't reciproc but you gotta get
- 41:24Speaker 3: him another I want to know.
- 41:28Speaker 16: But like when you're in the beginning of it, man,
- 41:29Speaker 16: that's just like the hardest thing to to think about
- 41:33Speaker 16: because you're just like, man, what I'm already marty in it.
- 41:38Speaker 16: It's just as hard as I could possibly imagine. Then
- 41:40Speaker 16: we travel so much, man, it's just like we just
- 41:43Speaker 16: did our first lights what was that three weeks ago?
- 41:48Speaker 16: And every time I, like we do anything, I'm like,
- 41:50Speaker 16: how do people do this with two fucking kids? So
- 41:53Speaker 16: it's like I have the backpack with the stroller on.
- 41:56Speaker 16: You know that you carry it like the satchel, and
- 41:57Speaker 16: I mean lacy. My wife was saying, I almost ran
- 42:00Speaker 16: into like one hundred people, and I'm like, well, that's
- 42:01Speaker 16: just their problem at this point because I'm overwhelmed, so
- 42:04Speaker 16: I can't imagine too. But obviously you get to that point,
- 42:06Speaker 16: I'm sure where it's like that it makes more sense
- 42:09Speaker 16: than it seems reasonable at this point in time.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I right now, it's almost like you know you're about
- 42:14Speaker 1: to take off. You can get in the bottle, you
- 42:15Speaker 1: can kind of like, yeah, I have him on the carrier,
- 42:17Speaker 1: but now that rue is like ten months, Like I
- 42:20Speaker 1: be honest, she was hell like if we're if we're
- 42:23Speaker 1: coming out of training camp, she's getting cut flying down
- 42:27Speaker 1: to Austin and flying over to Asy. Now flying to
- 42:29Speaker 1: as he wasn't as bad. We got her to sleep
- 42:31Speaker 1: down in the seat, but like they're just want to
- 42:33Speaker 1: move and do everything else like travel. It's like a
- 42:36Speaker 1: few hour flight.
- 42:37Speaker 16: I'm glad he's still immobile because I was not a
- 42:41Speaker 16: fool player.
- 42:42Speaker 2: I'm not ready to chase something around.
- 42:43Speaker 16: I walk, Yeah, I can walk fast, but I don't
- 42:46Speaker 16: I don't jog a whole whole lot of time. So
- 42:49Speaker 16: I'm a little scared for when I I can't find
- 42:51Speaker 16: him and he's just running away shitting and pissing and screaming.
- 42:55Speaker 16: I'm cool with him in one place. I know when
- 42:57Speaker 16: he screams, now, I know exactly where he is. Yeah,
- 42:59Speaker 16: scared for the days where he's gonna be like like
- 43:02Speaker 16: Ron was telling me yesterday, he's like, you know, they
- 43:03Speaker 16: have to obviously, like his kid is a little over
- 43:06Speaker 16: a year. I think two years, maybe get two years,
- 43:08Speaker 16: and he uh, you know, he's like he's like he's
- 43:11Speaker 16: trying to climb out of the crib, and I'm just like,
- 43:13Speaker 16: that's the scariest I know. My kid's gonna be right
- 43:16Speaker 16: where I left him at all times, so I can.
- 43:18Speaker 2: I'm cool with that.
- 43:19Speaker 3: It's a grind, dude, It's an absolute grind to have
- 43:21Speaker 3: a kid. But I think he got going for you
- 43:23Speaker 3: is I mean, the boy made some bags. Yeah a
- 43:26Speaker 3: few weeks ago. That's a nice little deal right there.
- 43:30Speaker 3: You keep doing that and no more south last Yeah, yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 3: a nice little plane. Just go ahead, and hey, you
- 43:35Speaker 3: can cry and run around wherever you want.
- 43:37Speaker 16: We did do that all the way home from from
- 43:39Speaker 16: San Diego, and it was really nice, Like it was
- 43:42Speaker 16: really relaxing. I will say, though, to all the parents
- 43:45Speaker 16: out there who don't fly as often as I do
- 43:48Speaker 16: and they feel bad when their kid like screams on
- 43:51Speaker 16: a plane.
- 43:52Speaker 2: I've been on as many planes as I think like.
- 43:56Speaker 16: Anybody really has, and at some point I got over
- 44:00Speaker 16: it's like they make noise canceling headphones.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Now, yes, bro, that's all you gotta do. Brought that
- 44:04Speaker 2: up yesterday.
- 44:06Speaker 16: It's a kid like they're gonna scream. I mean maybe
- 44:09Speaker 16: when I was like twenty twenty one years old, I
- 44:10Speaker 16: was a god. It's annoying. I got the kid behind me,
- 44:12Speaker 16: but it's like they got noise can slandfles. I even
- 44:14Speaker 16: thought like if I if I was just making crazy,
- 44:16Speaker 16: crazy money, I'll just buy everybody noise canceling headphones.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Just bring bringing back Bay guys.
- 44:24Speaker 2: You get a headphone. Yeah here you guys go. No
- 44:26Speaker 2: complaining now though, Like I'm good, you're good.
- 44:29Speaker 1: It seems natural though, like I was like it would
- 44:31Speaker 1: be internally in my head, I'm like, man, this kid
- 44:33Speaker 1: quiet down. But now that you're a parent, you're like,
- 44:35Speaker 1: you know the parents going the parents are about way
- 44:38Speaker 1: worse than you are because there are parents who are like, man,
- 44:41Speaker 1: you want to cue down because you know how everybody
- 44:43Speaker 1: else might feel because you were once there at one.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Yeah, not like actually looking like like people who looking
- 44:48Speaker 4: give like faces.
- 44:49Speaker 2: It's like, yo, fuck you. If you have the face
- 44:51Speaker 2: you can go fuck yeah. Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 3: If it's like an older woman, it's always the older
- 44:54Speaker 3: woman that kind of looks like, what do you what
- 44:56Speaker 3: are you doing? Say? Man, you're sitting in the middle
- 44:58Speaker 3: seat in Southwest you had to see you thirty. It
- 45:00Speaker 3: was gonna be a tough flight for your.
- 45:01Speaker 16: Regardless disconnect, I do believe this. There's a disconnect because
- 45:05Speaker 16: it is more expensive. It's public transportation. It's just a
- 45:09Speaker 16: bus in the air. If I was on a bus
- 45:11Speaker 16: and someone was screaming, I've been on bus. I lived
- 45:13Speaker 16: in Berkeley for four years. I'm a bus where people
- 45:15Speaker 16: are taking pisses in the aisle and it's like you
- 45:19Speaker 16: just didn't even bat an eye. You go on the
- 45:21Speaker 16: bar and there's just a homeless dude lives there. It
- 45:23Speaker 16: smells it terrible, but you're like, yeah, this public transportation.
- 45:26Speaker 16: But for some reason, when you're up in the clouds,
- 45:28Speaker 16: people to expect everybody to, you know, wear like a
- 45:30Speaker 16: suit and tie and just read.
- 45:32Speaker 2: But like you're kind of like it really is.
- 45:35Speaker 3: I want to know why people are pissing in the
- 45:36Speaker 3: middle of the aisle of a bus.
- 45:37Speaker 4: You know, he said he grow up the California. You
- 45:39Speaker 4: got homeless people.
- 45:39Speaker 2: He's got a big homeless population. You see a lot
- 45:42Speaker 2: of shit, And I mean that quite literally.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Well, like California is El Dorado for the homeless community.
- 45:48Speaker 3: That is, that is a place you really need to
- 45:49Speaker 3: get gotta everywhere's the ocean. Yeah, people in Minnesota that
- 45:54Speaker 3: are homeless are like, have you heard about this place
- 45:55Speaker 3: on California? We could get there. The flyers like yeah
- 45:59Speaker 3: that photo. Okay, some day I'm gonna head west for
- 46:02Speaker 3: three years.
- 46:02Speaker 2: You'll never do it, almost due to Minnesota. Last time
- 46:04Speaker 2: I was there, and that guy's brave. MANX. It gets
- 46:06Speaker 2: fucking cool. It's fucking cold in Minnesota.
- 46:08Speaker 16: California. I mean, like if I was I would just
- 46:10Speaker 16: live in San Diego and it would be great. Yeah,
- 46:13Speaker 16: I mean that'd be awesome.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want, you can stumble over to Mexico
- 46:15Speaker 2: real quick. But a PJ. You saw a couple of
- 46:18Speaker 2: nice shows coming back.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Want of entertainment down there in southern California a lot
- 46:22Speaker 3: of entertainment. What do you live in San Diego now.
- 46:24Speaker 2: No, I'm here.
- 46:25Speaker 16: I'm twenty minutes from here, but I I grew up
- 46:27Speaker 16: in Los Angeles. But we've been here four years now.
- 46:32Speaker 16: You a Paradise Valley guy, I'm Arcadia.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, nice.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Arcadia is the south of Paradise Valley money val Paradise.
- 46:41Speaker 3: It's like Vallee. Arcadia is like it's like the nicest
- 46:44Speaker 3: area of Arizona.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:45Speaker 16: I grew up in Cave Creek, no way. Yeah, so
- 46:48Speaker 16: we just moved Arcadia. We were living up by like
- 46:50Speaker 16: where TPC is. We were living by like Kierlin.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Yeah for a while. But uh, Arkadie feels kind of
- 46:55Speaker 2: like California. Like you guys have those kind of vibes.
- 46:58Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Like road drive down a neighborhood in urad it'll be
- 47:00Speaker 3: like lush.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 16: Yeah, it's cool. It's a cool set up for for Arizona.
- 47:04Speaker 16: It's different, but yeah it is. It has been funny
- 47:07Speaker 16: living down there because like there is a I'm not
- 47:12Speaker 16: forty tody guy, but but our forty twenty people down there.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Yeah you go, he just got a little north. But
- 47:18Speaker 3: I know that Cave Creek. It's more salt of the earth.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I believe that.
- 47:22Speaker 16: But I just get my wife and I can't do they.
- 47:26Speaker 16: I haven't fallen in love with the cactus yet.
- 47:29Speaker 2: That's a beautiful thing better.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I think that's fair.
- 47:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I know you take take a lot of pride
- 47:33Speaker 4: in the cacti.
- 47:34Speaker 16: Yeah, it's kind of like all we got we got
- 47:37Speaker 16: out here that they can differentiate. But the cacti, which
- 47:41Speaker 16: I'm just like, it's just a cactus.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Yeah, there's lots of it's the ChIL. I think interesting
- 47:45Speaker 3: is how long you've heard about jumping toil?
- 47:47Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 47:48Speaker 2: Oh hey, fuck him up right now. Yeah, we'll blame
- 47:51Speaker 2: them a the what is this called jumping? Jumping?
- 47:55Speaker 3: They're like basically like the defense mechanism. Defense mechanism of
- 47:59Speaker 3: ach is if you get close to it, it'll literally
- 48:02Speaker 3: lean into you and then get you so it'll get
- 48:04Speaker 3: you away from it. And it's one of those things
- 48:06Speaker 3: like if you like touch it, it breaks off real easily,
- 48:08Speaker 3: so it'll be like all over your hands and arms
- 48:10Speaker 3: and stuff like that. And they're like they like they
- 48:12Speaker 3: look like big bushes and you can just like stacks
- 48:15Speaker 3: of just prickles everywhere.
- 48:17Speaker 16: My buddy put his foot over one once it was
- 48:19Speaker 16: on the ground. He put his foot over it, kind
- 48:21Speaker 16: of screwing around like oh, I'm gonna step on it.
- 48:23Speaker 2: And yeah, but holy fuck, yeah, Like what's the point
- 48:27Speaker 2: of those things? You know what I mean?
- 48:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what kind of value are they adding? I'm
- 48:33Speaker 4: sure they do.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Like I'm sure somebody somebody's out there pissed off right now,
- 48:36Speaker 1: Like how does will fucking not know?
- 48:38Speaker 3: No, I mean I think the choice is like only
- 48:41Speaker 3: here here in like New Mexico. Yeah, Like it's kind
- 48:44Speaker 3: of like a it's a rare thing.
- 48:45Speaker 4: It's interesting how long cactuses can live.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a fun thing too, Warlski, like two hundred
- 48:51Speaker 3: years old. It's wild. But that's what this is not,
- 48:54Speaker 3: what this podcast is not about. You are so you're
- 48:58Speaker 3: at the way you're doing the waste management. Obviously you
- 49:01Speaker 3: gotta be to come out. We're thinking about we're thinking
- 49:03Speaker 3: about Saturday right now.
- 49:05Speaker 2: We're thinking about Saturday.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Good day. Yeah, and then so how does like waste
- 49:09Speaker 3: management to me? Growing up here? Last year?
- 49:11Speaker 2: What's that he hit one?
- 49:12Speaker 3: Last year?
- 49:13Speaker 2: You got it? You got one last year? Didn't you
- 49:16Speaker 2: hold one?
- 49:16Speaker 3: Yeah? No, that was sim right, that's crazy, that's that's
- 49:19Speaker 3: just that's just us not doing our homework, cause I legit.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I was sitting with Will there being like, damn, did
- 49:23Speaker 2: he really get a hole in one?
- 49:25Speaker 3: But that like, how does the waste management how is
- 49:28Speaker 3: it different from things like Augusta and like other places,
- 49:30Speaker 3: because it seems like it literally is out of like
- 49:32Speaker 3: Happy Gil.
- 49:33Speaker 16: No, it's as yeah, it really is. Shooter McGavin would
- 49:35Speaker 16: struggle here. So that's how I put in context. They
- 49:39Speaker 16: don't tell you exactly how many people come through the gates,
- 49:41Speaker 16: but I I know roughly so on a on a
- 49:44Speaker 16: given even a good, good golf tournament day, like I
- 49:47Speaker 16: would say Farmers Insurance two weeks ago, final round probably had.
- 49:52Speaker 2: That's where he made his bags.
- 49:53Speaker 16: Twenty five thirty thousand people, Yeah, which feels like a
- 49:56Speaker 16: lot at a golf tournament its spread out with it
- 49:58Speaker 16: feels like a lot Saturday at the waste management this
- 50:01Speaker 16: week we'll probably have two hundred and fifty thousand people.
- 50:03Speaker 2: It's like the top five six sporting event in a day.
- 50:07Speaker 2: And it's all week.
- 50:08Speaker 16: I mean yesterday, Yesterday's Monday. It's the first day of
- 50:10Speaker 16: the course is open to practice or sorry for the fans.
- 50:13Speaker 16: But typically even some of the events don't even open,
- 50:16Speaker 16: and you know, you'll trickle in, like a few people
- 50:18Speaker 16: on me some Monday people have jobs. I mean, yesterday
- 50:21Speaker 16: was still chaos. I mean it's so many people. So
- 50:23Speaker 16: it's different. But my story that explains it. We call
- 50:26Speaker 16: it all the golfers call it a party that a
- 50:28Speaker 16: golf tournament broke out at. So it's like if we
- 50:31Speaker 16: were here drinking, then all of a sudden, you're like,
- 50:32Speaker 16: you know, you want to go mess around on that
- 50:34Speaker 16: putting green, and like that's that's like the scale. So
- 50:36Speaker 16: my first year ever playing at I t off on
- 50:40Speaker 16: Thursday off the back nine and sixteen's you know right
- 50:44Speaker 16: where like everyone filters in through ten, they walk past ten,
- 50:47Speaker 16: past eleven and filter into sixteen.
- 50:50Speaker 2: And I walk off the tee.
- 50:51Speaker 16: I got, you know, on my golf clothes on spikes on,
- 50:53Speaker 16: looking like a professional golfer.
- 50:54Speaker 2: I got my caddy carrying the clubs, looking like a caddy.
- 50:57Speaker 16: And there's a huge line of people and there's these
- 50:59Speaker 16: two tract of women in front of me, and I say,
- 51:01Speaker 16: excuse me, and they're on like heels and dresses and
- 51:03Speaker 16: all this shit and and they like look at me
- 51:06Speaker 16: and look back away. I was like, I was like,
- 51:09Speaker 16: excuse me, like I'm trying to get through to the fairway,
- 51:12Speaker 16: and she gave me like the I have a boyfriend, look.
- 51:17Speaker 2: No, And I was like, what the fuck are we doing?
- 51:19Speaker 16: Like I'm working, like you're here because there's a golf room,
- 51:23Speaker 16: but most of the people don't even like that's not
- 51:26Speaker 16: even part of it, like that's not the vibe. I mean,
- 51:28Speaker 16: they have clubs like I have my buddy. I don't
- 51:31Speaker 16: know if you guys know the you know he's just
- 51:32Speaker 16: Mike now, but Mike's stud.
- 51:34Speaker 2: And all those we are, Yeah, he's one of the
- 51:37Speaker 2: he's been times.
- 51:38Speaker 16: They rolled through last year, him Blue and all the boys,
- 51:41Speaker 16: and I got them passes a thing called the Greenskeeper.
- 51:44Speaker 16: It's left of eighteen, and it's like I've never been.
- 51:46Speaker 16: I've never got this, like see anything. But it's kind
- 51:47Speaker 16: of like a day club, like outdoor day club. And
- 51:50Speaker 16: he's like, hey, I'm gonna come out. Uh And I
- 51:52Speaker 16: was like, okay, I got you guys these wristbands and he'said, no,
- 51:55Speaker 16: we want to.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Play watch you play golf.
- 51:56Speaker 16: I said, okay, but I was like let you know,
- 51:57Speaker 16: like it's really fun like every day, but Saturday, like
- 52:01Speaker 16: don't feel obligated.
- 52:02Speaker 2: To come watch me play, like get in there.
- 52:04Speaker 16: So I text him after I was like, hey man, sorry,
- 52:06Speaker 16: like I didn't say high, like there's just a lot
- 52:08Speaker 16: of people out there.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 52:08Speaker 16: He goes, he's like I think he text me two
- 52:11Speaker 16: days later because he was like, never even left the
- 52:13Speaker 16: greens Keeper, like it was just too much fun because
- 52:16Speaker 16: it's just like beer gardens, Like people don't even know
- 52:17Speaker 16: there's golf going on sixteen, you know, but you're there
- 52:20Speaker 16: just to boo and get really drunk. And it's different
- 52:24Speaker 16: from anything ever, because every other golf tournament is it's
- 52:28Speaker 16: the golf tournament's the priority in this case, like that
- 52:32Speaker 16: is the alcohol is the priorities.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's likely that it's crazy, it's insane. How do
- 52:38Speaker 2: you get go ahead? Bub, I'm just.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Gonna say how you feel about everyone's starting to throw
- 52:42Speaker 1: all that alcohol onto the So I like the green
- 52:45Speaker 1: like how it was like chaos.
- 52:46Speaker 2: It was a little much. So basically they had to
- 52:48Speaker 2: change it this year.
- 52:50Speaker 16: I'm not gonna go out here and say it's like
- 52:51Speaker 16: life and dead dangerous, but I mean people are chucking
- 52:53Speaker 16: you know, hands at you that are full of beer
- 52:57Speaker 16: and like, you know, cold, My buddy Cold got hit
- 52:58Speaker 16: with one last year and he's like, didn't feel good.
- 53:01Speaker 2: I don't mind it. It's it's crazy. I like this.
- 53:04Speaker 16: This is good for golf. I don't think every week,
- 53:06Speaker 16: but it's good for golf. But they are putting cups
- 53:08Speaker 16: in solo cups this year, so if you do chuck
- 53:09Speaker 16: them at least like we're not gonna get beaned.
- 53:12Speaker 2: But I don't know, I like it. It's fun. It's
- 53:14Speaker 2: it's it's chaos. It's crazy.
- 53:17Speaker 16: It's like we golf is such like an older, older
- 53:21Speaker 16: person's sport that like making it younger and all this
- 53:24Speaker 16: and that whatever.
- 53:24Speaker 2: The only problem with last year that we got a
- 53:26Speaker 2: little of that.
- 53:28Speaker 16: They're starting to do it for anything, like they crave
- 53:30Speaker 16: it's like you craved reason the chaos. And they're like
- 53:33Speaker 16: they're like, man, if he if he makes this thirty footer,
- 53:35Speaker 16: we're gonna throw it and then they'll miss and he's
- 53:37Speaker 16: like he taps it in though we'll throw it too.
- 53:40Speaker 16: It's like okay, or you know, like make it make
- 53:43Speaker 16: like for the home one like go nuts for a bunker. Shot,
- 53:46Speaker 16: you make go nuts, long pup, go nuts. It did
- 53:48Speaker 16: feel like last year was kind of like anything we
- 53:49Speaker 16: can possibly make happen and make worth it, we're gonna
- 53:53Speaker 16: do it.
- 53:54Speaker 2: But it's cool, man, it's a it's rare.
- 53:56Speaker 16: I have my favorite funniest stories from this event, and
- 53:59Speaker 16: last year was up there with the most humanizing and
- 54:01Speaker 16: also kind of funny thing ever. But I was in
- 54:04Speaker 16: a late group on Saturday, I think, and we get
- 54:07Speaker 16: to fifteen, I'm making like a little charge and uh,
- 54:11Speaker 16: I don't know why the people who set the tournament
- 54:13Speaker 16: up did this. But there's a ported body like on
- 54:15Speaker 16: the tee and it is really close to a lot
- 54:17Speaker 16: of people, and you know, obviously they're quite noisy, and.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I had a healthy stream that day. So I hop
- 54:22Speaker 2: in there and everyone watches me go in there, and
- 54:24Speaker 2: I could.
- 54:24Speaker 16: Hear people, like, you know, chanting as I'm like in
- 54:28Speaker 16: the bathroom, and it's like really uncomfortable, and I get
- 54:32Speaker 16: out and I just get like, I mean, they're already standing,
- 54:34Speaker 16: but it's still like a standing ovation like a roar
- 54:37Speaker 16: happens as I leave this bathroom. I look at Joe
- 54:39Speaker 16: and I'm like, dude, I don't even feel like a
- 54:40Speaker 16: fucking person anymore for a pass like they got, I
- 54:43Speaker 16: didn't have to take a shit because like that, it
- 54:45Speaker 16: just doesn't have been a tough one in there.
- 54:48Speaker 2: So you have that, I've had my favorite heckles have
- 54:51Speaker 2: been at this one. Uh. So it's a great event.
- 54:54Speaker 2: It's just, uh, it's very different.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Is it a when you're looking at like your first
- 54:59Speaker 3: couple of times doing the waste management, is there like
- 55:01Speaker 3: a level of fomo that you had at any point?
- 55:03Speaker 3: Being like these people are having every incredible time every year.
- 55:07Speaker 3: I remember, like I don't know about you, but like
- 55:08Speaker 3: being on the buses going to like college foot blun
- 55:10Speaker 3: steing all these all these people tail getting are like, damn, I've.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Never been to a tailgat. I got to do all
- 55:15Speaker 2: the tail getting. Yeah, so we roll reverse. It is hard, man.
- 55:19Speaker 16: I guess like last year I got, I got all
- 55:21Speaker 16: these friends in town. Uh and like one night, you know,
- 55:26Speaker 16: like I again invited to go to dinner with like
- 55:29Speaker 16: Golf who I'm buddies with and Yelich and all like
- 55:32Speaker 16: just like my favorite like coolest athlete friends who we
- 55:34Speaker 16: keep up with each other, but I never get to
- 55:36Speaker 16: see them because they're busy when when when I'm not
- 55:39Speaker 16: busy and I'm busy when they're busy, and they're like, man,
- 55:40Speaker 16: we're going out to Bottle Blond a night. You know,
- 55:43Speaker 16: I know it's probably hard, but you want to come.
- 55:45Speaker 16: And I'm just like fuck you, yeah, like I want
- 55:48Speaker 16: to know. But and then they're like, no, you're not coming.
- 55:50Speaker 16: I'm like, I know, but like you just all the
- 55:52Speaker 16: parties are this week and it's so much fun and
- 55:54Speaker 16: everyone's out and watching people like just drink while we're
- 55:59Speaker 16: all golfing just seem like truly having the time of
- 56:01Speaker 16: their lives. Well, I'm just like wrestling between making bogies,
- 56:04Speaker 16: birdies and pars. It's just like it's just not nearly
- 56:07Speaker 16: as fun.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Yeah, changing diapers.
- 56:10Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 56:10Speaker 16: Now this week's super Bowl week. Yeah, now it's super Bowl.
- 56:13Speaker 16: It makes every year it's just crazier. But I don't know, man,
- 56:17Speaker 16: I have fomo every year at this event. But there
- 56:21Speaker 16: have been times like my favorite, like like last year's Saturday,
- 56:25Speaker 16: my last like five holes is my like one of
- 56:27Speaker 16: my favorite things that's happened to me. And golf just
- 56:29Speaker 16: because when you do perform in front of those people,
- 56:32Speaker 16: you guys would would get this more We don't get
- 56:34Speaker 16: this very often, but it's like the rush of it is, well,
- 56:37Speaker 16: you know, it's worth not drinking the beersh But yeah,
- 56:41Speaker 16: there's still times where I'm like, god, dang, it looks pretty,
- 56:43Speaker 16: you know. If I get it on like a little
- 56:45Speaker 16: bogie run, I'm like, I could just be out there
- 56:46Speaker 16: right now, like, yeah, well I got full acts, I
- 56:49Speaker 16: got this little credential gets me everywhere.
- 56:51Speaker 2: I could be doing all the coolest stuff. But I
- 56:53Speaker 2: don't know. It's a it's a good trade off.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Here's a question how important in the scheme of day
- 56:59Speaker 1: rankings and all that is the waste management. That's what
- 57:02Speaker 1: I'm thinking, is this, why not become the golfer it's
- 57:06Speaker 1: drinking while you're playing.
- 57:07Speaker 3: John Daly, Oh he does that. He smokes cigarettes and drinks.
- 57:14Speaker 3: He's the fine because you're not allowed to drink.
- 57:17Speaker 2: We're not allowed to. Yeah, maybe that'll be a rule
- 57:20Speaker 2: we could knock down.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Just for this tournament.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Just like when you go to Augusta.
- 57:26Speaker 3: I've never been, but it's like the hot dogs are
- 57:28Speaker 3: still the same prices the day they open.
- 57:30Speaker 2: They have like this message.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah, like on like presidents and like senators can like
- 57:35Speaker 3: golf on this place other than pro golfers, Like why
- 57:37Speaker 3: not make the waste management like the ultimate like fuck
- 57:41Speaker 3: you to golf in a way that like takes this
- 57:43Speaker 3: these younger generations and it's like, oh, we want to
- 57:46Speaker 3: do this ship.
- 57:46Speaker 2: This is awesome, not a terrible. Yeah, we could have
- 57:49Speaker 2: a one innovator.
- 57:52Speaker 4: While playing golf.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, you guys, watch the Wire. I've not
- 57:55Speaker 2: seen a lot of.
- 57:57Speaker 3: There's so many shows out there now that are amazing,
- 57:59Speaker 3: Like The Last of Us is now a thing that
- 58:01Speaker 3: everyone's watching. Wow.
- 58:04Speaker 16: But they have a thing called Hamsterdam where like in Baltimore,
- 58:07Speaker 16: they made like you could do drugs in this one
- 58:09Speaker 16: square mile. You could do whatever you wanted. There was
- 58:11Speaker 16: no rules, and like that's what this event should be.
- 58:14Speaker 16: It's like, yeah, the one place where like we'll turn
- 58:16Speaker 16: a blind eye to this.
- 58:17Speaker 2: That's perfect.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Captioning Maxholma thinks heroin should be allowed.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, no drugs. You brought that up. What's
- 58:25Speaker 2: one rule you would change in golf? Man? Big Cat.
- 58:31Speaker 16: Big Cat did say something on part of my take once.
- 58:34Speaker 16: I don't know if you guys ever heard that one,
- 58:35Speaker 16: but where he said that you should be allowed to
- 58:38Speaker 16: fight one Fanny year in like any sport, and I
- 58:42Speaker 16: was like last year at the PGA in Oklahoma, I
- 58:47Speaker 16: was telling Joe my Caddy about that rule because there's
- 58:50Speaker 16: this fucking guy that was just wearing me out for
- 58:53Speaker 16: like six holes in a row. He's clearly just walking
- 58:55Speaker 16: with us, and I was just like do I was like,
- 58:58Speaker 16: that's the fucking guy, Like that's my But you have
- 59:00Speaker 16: to be smart about it because I'm not like a
- 59:02Speaker 16: super large man. I'd pick a small guy and I
- 59:05Speaker 16: just go to town. And I think I think that
- 59:07Speaker 16: would be that would be a good one. Obviously pretty
- 59:09Speaker 16: pretty unrealistic, unrealistic rule change, but definitely something if we
- 59:13Speaker 16: thought of.
- 59:13Speaker 2: I do think that. I do think that like live
- 59:17Speaker 2: towards doing it like shorts. I don't mind, like you
- 59:19Speaker 2: could wear shorts.
- 59:20Speaker 16: It makes it seem like at least a little less dorky,
- 59:24Speaker 16: although some people got like very white legs.
- 59:28Speaker 2: But I don't know the real one is.
- 59:31Speaker 16: I guess the real one I would do is like
- 59:33Speaker 16: range finders, the lasers you shoot the pin distance wise,
- 59:36Speaker 16: I would use because if everyone has one, I don't
- 59:38Speaker 16: see the advantage of it, so it's like, might as
- 59:40Speaker 16: well do it it'll speed things up to an extent,
- 59:43Speaker 16: it makes things easier on everybody.
- 59:45Speaker 2: That one seems pretty basic, but we'll see.
- 59:48Speaker 9: Is it.
- 59:48Speaker 2: So speaking of like fighting guys, is there.
- 59:52Speaker 3: A golfer that you would, given the opportunity, would maybe
- 59:56Speaker 3: throw hands with.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I mean, I get yeah, I mean it could be anybody,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: somebody on the front of your mind. You can say them,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: you don't have to say him. Who do you think
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: you could take in the tour? I could take, Like
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I could take a lot of I was, I was.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I'm blessed.
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: My dad was a boxer growing up, so he taught
- 1:00:19Speaker 16: me at a box So I'm a very unassuming like
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: I know I could at least. I'm also not scared
- 1:00:23Speaker 16: to get my ass beat like that at some point. Yeah,
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: like like like we fought, obviously, you guys are all
- 1:00:29Speaker 16: gonna kick my ass, Like I'm cool with that, but
- 1:00:31Speaker 16: like I'd rather.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Do that than like run, So I'm gonna at least
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: stand in there and take a few.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean think that there's a lot of
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: guys on tour. I would I would.
- 1:00:41Speaker 16: I would like my chance against But it's not like
- 1:00:43Speaker 16: I dislike that many people or really anybody enough to
- 1:00:46Speaker 16: just be like, I'm just gonna bite them. But I
- 1:00:49Speaker 16: mean there's times when you're pissed off and it's kind
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: of just any When you make like four buggies in
- 1:00:53Speaker 16: a row.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: It's kind of just anybody. Yeah, anybody's I'm ready right now.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Dad always had this joke.
- 1:00:58Speaker 16: I wore a or this ugly assed pink shirt when
- 1:01:02Speaker 16: I was a junior golfer and this guy we were
- 1:01:04Speaker 16: leaving the course. I paid so bad, I'm so mad,
- 1:01:07Speaker 16: steaming in the front seat. I'm probably fifteen sixteen, and
- 1:01:10Speaker 16: this guy cuts off my dad. He's usually like a
- 1:01:13Speaker 16: little more of the hot head than me, and I
- 1:01:15Speaker 16: start yelling at the car the guy in front.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: My dad goes. My dad goes, if you want to
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: get out, you can get out.
- 1:01:22Speaker 16: And he was like, could you imagine, like on the news,
- 1:01:25Speaker 16: like like golfer and pink shirt just beats the hell
- 1:01:28Speaker 16: out of some road raged driver.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, this probably wasn't gonna go
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: that way. I probably, you know, end up flat on
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: my back.
- 1:01:35Speaker 16: But we have no I've always been scared of a
- 1:01:39Speaker 16: golfer actually fighting another golfer because like we just had
- 1:01:42Speaker 16: a tee throwing incident a year a week ago in Dubai,
- 1:01:47Speaker 16: we have Rory McElroy and Patrick Reed. Patrick Greed like
- 1:01:51Speaker 16: flicked a tee towards Rory and it was a humongous story,
- 1:01:55Speaker 16: which is pretty sad. And I'm really nervous that if
- 1:01:59Speaker 16: we ever anybody did get in a real altercation, we
- 1:02:03Speaker 16: just never make things look cool, and we can't make
- 1:02:07Speaker 16: fighting look cool. Like there's just no way since two
- 1:02:09Speaker 16: golfers are actually gonna have like a real fistfight that
- 1:02:11Speaker 16: you're like, oh wow, you know it's gonna be like,
- 1:02:13Speaker 16: oh boy, you know, like, oh that was a bad
- 1:02:17Speaker 16: look for all of us. So I hope we view
- 1:02:19Speaker 16: you know, it would bring viewers, it would cringe and
- 1:02:22Speaker 16: like kind of be like, okay, you know, I didn't
- 1:02:24Speaker 16: need to see that. So I feel like it's good
- 1:02:26Speaker 16: that most of us are are smart enough not to
- 1:02:29Speaker 16: ever really even get into a hold me back situation.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: We we avoid it at all costs.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Is there an internal rivalry that you have that your
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: opponent doesn't even know he's.
- 1:02:40Speaker 16: A part of multiple but not in a I don't
- 1:02:45Speaker 16: like them, why just want to beat him? Way uh
- 1:02:50Speaker 16: Man Tom Kim uh and he has the same thing.
- 1:02:53Speaker 16: I know he does because his Caddy is one of
- 1:02:55Speaker 16: my best friends. I know he has the same thing.
- 1:02:56Speaker 16: But we played singles at Presidents CuPy.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: This that part is suce. He's twenty, I'm thirty two.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Hold on, hold on one second, yes, sir, I.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Don't well, Oh, so are you gonna abide by the
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: what you're being told?
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Hey, Dave, gonna meet you.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: We're doing We're well in lying brother, No, Ron, We're
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: just trying to do our part.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Because we're doing we're doing you know why we're doing it.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: And we've got people coming up being like, you can't talk,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: But do you know why we're doing this down here?
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Because we're doing the rundown right yesterday? You have to
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: So all I'm saying is we're trying to fuck We're
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: trying to do this.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: You're allowed to talk, I think, I mean, yeah, maybe
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: your house.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: That's why I said, though I came in and like
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: the Boston guy says, no one can.
- 1:03:46Speaker 10: Talk up there.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: So what you said?
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: What was your reaction was the air and asked permission
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: to talk? Okay, all right, thanks. I hope your shows
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: go well up there.
- 1:03:56Speaker 14: Day you.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Never know what you're gonna get with him.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: When he made the comment, I was thinking about it too,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: and he was like, when you're fifty three, fifty fourth roster,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: you're gonna be early to the meeting. It's like when
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: you're the owner, you can show up whenever you want to.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: But it's like, yeah, if you want to want to
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: run a pisspoor organization.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Yeah, lead from the front, he says, found up.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Lead from the front, from the front, Like that's culture,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: Like we know there's a heart out here at ten
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: fifteen and he wants to come take three minutes of
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: our time. That's hey, though, I tell you what the
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: day folks are the boys he does funck with Like
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: that's he's the dad. He's the dad that's never gonna
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: say I love you. But like the more he makes
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: fun of you, like he cares. Yeah, yeah, he cares,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: and that's that's important.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: I feel like during the thing, what'd you ask does
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: he love you?
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: You think, oh, yeah, you love us? Yes?
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: I think so. I mean I think we're probably yeah,
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: top five favorite people.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Don't think he'll ever say it, and I think he'll always, like,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: you know, make those faces.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Like he's go, yeah, I mean I like you guys,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: these you're fine. I mean, you should doing great job.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: He has worked for me, and he'll just say something
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: that like wouldn't make him seem like he's the boss,
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: and then we.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Just that one pat on the back. You're like, oh, yeah, yeah,
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: he doesn't. I think he's not a whole lot of paths.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: He hangs with Silvana and they'll like look at some
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: more kind of stuff and they kind of chuckle.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Again.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he'll be laying in bed and just kind of
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: but he'll never say you see this. Yeah, he'll never
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: say that those guys are stupid, and they'll just kind
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: of keep scrolling.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: I'm Kim, yeah, Kim. So yeah, he's twenty, I'm thirty two.
- 1:05:15Speaker 16: Uh, he's a future or he already is Superstar Wars
- 1:05:19Speaker 16: the Future, just like World Beater.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Uh talent.
- 1:05:22Speaker 16: And I think part of it is that I'm just
- 1:05:24Speaker 16: jealous that it took me so long to figure it out,
- 1:05:28Speaker 16: and he's you know, can't even legally drink and he's
- 1:05:31Speaker 16: just whooping up on all of us.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: That's probably part of it.
- 1:05:34Speaker 16: A lot of it is this Caddy and I you know,
- 1:05:36Speaker 16: I have to see him all the time, so I
- 1:05:37Speaker 16: want to. I don't know, it's like it's like a
- 1:05:40Speaker 16: motivating thing. So I definitely, you know, check in how
- 1:05:43Speaker 16: he's doing in tournaments, and I hope that I win
- 1:05:46Speaker 16: more tournaments than he does, uh until I retire much
- 1:05:50Speaker 16: earlier than he will. But it's also an embarrassing one.
- 1:05:53Speaker 16: Like I said, you want a rival that's like your age,
- 1:05:55Speaker 16: and this kid is like he's truly a child. So
- 1:06:00Speaker 16: I was doing at twenty first, what he was doing
- 1:06:01Speaker 16: at twenty is just so drastically different. It's outrageous. But
- 1:06:04Speaker 16: he's he's definitely hot on my list right now. And
- 1:06:07Speaker 16: he's also taking me to dinner next week. He's taking
- 1:06:08Speaker 16: me to a Korean barbecue next week in La So
- 1:06:11Speaker 16: I'm als. We're also really good friends, I think closer. Yeah,
- 1:06:15Speaker 16: so I'm staying it. Yeah, but he might food poisoning.
- 1:06:17Speaker 16: I'm not really sure.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I don't know where his rivalry in this stands, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: I know I know he feels similarly. Is here this week,
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: he's here this week? Yeah?
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Anything, that's when?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Does it?
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: It starts Thursday? Right, That's the first day that everything start.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: And do you get paired up with him?
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: A lot or now I've been paired up with him.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: Uh maybe this is where the other part.
- 1:06:34Speaker 16: I got paired up with him in Vegas this year
- 1:06:36Speaker 16: and then he won the golf tournament didn't make a
- 1:06:38Speaker 16: bogie for all seventy two holes, which is.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: Just like not a real thing. Yeah, so he did that, man,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: he's so.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Yeah yeah is uh you you brought up caddies a
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: couple of times, like, I don't know golf. I probably
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: swung a club ten times in my entire life.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: I'm awful.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: But what is like, how important is a caddie through
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: the process of the weekend for you, like sizing things
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: up for yourself?
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: For me is what do they do? In general? Just
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: like give me the basic one on one on what caddy.
- 1:07:04Speaker 16: Does their bones is carry the clubs, clean the clubs
- 1:07:08Speaker 16: and get like numbers and kind of do like strategy
- 1:07:11Speaker 16: type stuff. Mine is different. I I've always valued caddies
- 1:07:15Speaker 16: some guys, you know, everyone wants something different. Some people
- 1:07:17Speaker 16: want like some people want like a psychologist kind of
- 1:07:20Speaker 16: out there a friend out there where they want somebody
- 1:07:22Speaker 16: who's just really good at like you know, getting waters,
- 1:07:24Speaker 16: you know, just like a almost like an assistant. Mine
- 1:07:28Speaker 16: I've been lucky. Mine is one of my best friends.
- 1:07:30Speaker 16: I've known him since I was six. He was a
- 1:07:33Speaker 16: great golfer. It still is a good golfer, but he
- 1:07:35Speaker 16: played pro golfer a little bit.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Back in the day. And so I kind of get
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: I'm lucky. I get I get a really like really good.
- 1:07:42Speaker 16: Caddies, great at all the strategy, all the picking what
- 1:07:45Speaker 16: club to hit.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: He's great at all that.
- 1:07:47Speaker 16: But he's also like someone I enjoy walking around with
- 1:07:50Speaker 16: because we're we're together more than I'm with, you know,
- 1:07:52Speaker 16: my wife. Really over the last like six years, we
- 1:07:56Speaker 16: spend so much time together. So I need to like
- 1:07:59Speaker 16: like that person because if I if I start to
- 1:08:01Speaker 16: get resentful of being around somebody that much, it would
- 1:08:05Speaker 16: be hard to do my job. But so I I
- 1:08:08Speaker 16: kind of get like the full uh, the full package
- 1:08:11Speaker 16: with mine. So it's like I said, everyone's different. Like
- 1:08:16Speaker 16: I had a caddy one time filling for Joe. He
- 1:08:18Speaker 16: was gone for a week, and and every time he
- 1:08:20Speaker 16: had me water like he'd have like the top almost off.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: So I didn't have to open the top.
- 1:08:25Speaker 16: I'm like nice though, yeah, but I'm like, I'm so
- 1:08:27Speaker 16: good at that, I could do that you know, I
- 1:08:29Speaker 16: don't need help with that.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: I need help, Like is it seven or eight iron?
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: I don't. So it's just like everybody.
- 1:08:35Speaker 16: But clearly at some point somebody told him like that
- 1:08:38Speaker 16: was a thing, which is also sad and crazy to me.
- 1:08:41Speaker 16: But uh, I don't know some people. Everyone everyone's different,
- 1:08:44Speaker 16: I guess, But I like I like having a friend
- 1:08:46Speaker 16: out there that like enjoy the winds together and then
- 1:08:50Speaker 16: the losses we can like discuss and and I have
- 1:08:53Speaker 16: a lot of faith and trust in what he'll suggest
- 1:08:55Speaker 16: that we should do better.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Have you ever blew a gasket on him?
- 1:08:58Speaker 14: Uh?
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: It's actually funny. He's yelled at me more than I
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: yelled at him.
- 1:09:01Speaker 16: It's kind of my running running joke about how like
- 1:09:04Speaker 16: last year, last year, maybe it's two years ago. At
- 1:09:07Speaker 16: Pebble Beach Sunday, I got off to a great start
- 1:09:11Speaker 16: and on the fifth hole, I hit in a bunker
- 1:09:14Speaker 16: and I had a fuck line and made double bogie.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: And then the next hole, I.
- 1:09:16Speaker 16: Hit in the bunker and got a fuck lie and
- 1:09:18Speaker 16: I hit a really good shot and got a terrible bounce.
- 1:09:21Speaker 16: I had like twenty feet and I like kind of
- 1:09:23Speaker 16: bitched and moaned about it and That's why I like
- 1:09:25Speaker 16: joke because I always tell myself if I'm being a bitch,
- 1:09:27Speaker 16: you tell me I'm being a bitch, and I'll stop.
- 1:09:28Speaker 16: Like he's older than me, like I was like, you know,
- 1:09:30Speaker 16: you're kind of big brother here. I'll listen to you. Yeah,
- 1:09:33Speaker 16: and and but I kind of like bitched and moaned
- 1:09:35Speaker 16: to him about like I was like, what a fucking bounce,
- 1:09:37Speaker 16: you know, like so fucking bad. And he snapped on
- 1:09:40Speaker 16: me and he goes, you know, I don't even remember
- 1:09:42Speaker 16: what he said.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: He yelled at me. Looked him like Jesus Christ, like
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: in front of the people, I'm good God a bitch. Yeah.
- 1:09:49Speaker 16: Basically he was like he's like quick complaining he had
- 1:09:52Speaker 16: a great fucking shot. It's like not that big a
- 1:09:53Speaker 16: deal whatever. So I'm like okay, and I walked over
- 1:09:55Speaker 16: and I unfortunately I made the putt, which was like
- 1:09:57Speaker 16: maybe part of him just scaring the life out of me.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: And he comes over to me like this is why
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: I'm our relationship. I love it so much. He comes
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: over and he goes, dude, I'm so sorry, but I
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: want to rake that bunker on five. My back went out,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: and I'm like, I'm kind of on tilt right now.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, he goes, I'm really sorry about that.
- 1:10:11Speaker 16: But I've only really yeah, I've only really gotten mad
- 1:10:14Speaker 16: at him, like a couple of times, so like he
- 1:10:18Speaker 16: I don't think I've ever yelled at him, but yeah,
- 1:10:22Speaker 16: it's it's fun when he is wrong. And there's been
- 1:10:24Speaker 16: a couple of times where like he catches, he catches
- 1:10:27Speaker 16: when I could I know he's wrong and I go
- 1:10:29Speaker 16: to say something and he's like got his head downe
- 1:10:30Speaker 16: He's like, sorry, sorry, sorry, my bad, sorry, sorry sorry,
- 1:10:32Speaker 16: because he knows, like I don't air him out. Everyone's
- 1:10:35Speaker 16: trying their best. It's impossible. I mean, he's guessing what
- 1:10:38Speaker 16: you know, educated guess and what we should be doing.
- 1:10:41Speaker 16: So when he's wrong, it's not like I'm like whatever.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: But every once in a while, like one time, you know,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: I'm telling him it's six and it's five and he
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: says five and I'm saying six and it's five and
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: I had five and it goes over the green.
- 1:10:52Speaker 16: It's fucked, And like that's when I can at least
- 1:10:54Speaker 16: at least look at him and be like, you know,
- 1:10:57Speaker 16: I was right, And sometimes that's all I need.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: But I don't yell.
- 1:11:02Speaker 16: You hear some guys blow up and they are some
- 1:11:04Speaker 16: funny fucking stories, but uh, man, I just don't have
- 1:11:07Speaker 16: that in me.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Where are you at in the argument of golf being
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: a sport or not?
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Man, I'm like very middle like I don't it's active.
- 1:11:23Speaker 16: Uh it does warm my heart when like my friends
- 1:11:25Speaker 16: who are real athletes, like the no argument athlete, when
- 1:11:29Speaker 16: they go play golf and then they tell me next
- 1:11:31Speaker 16: day like their back hurts and their shoulders are hurting.
- 1:11:33Speaker 16: I'm like, see, shit's fucking but yeah, it's it's probably not.
- 1:11:39Speaker 16: I think if we had to carry our on clubs,
- 1:11:40Speaker 16: I would consider it a sport.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: But it's just it's just it. Yeah, we're tiptoe in
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: the line.
- 1:11:46Speaker 16: We're we're definitely like people bat dog cheerleading and say
- 1:11:50Speaker 16: that's not a sport and they did a way more
- 1:11:52Speaker 16: athletic than we are. So like if they're not even
- 1:11:55Speaker 16: if they're not even getting approved, then like we shouldn't
- 1:11:58Speaker 16: be approved fully yet.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: But we're gaining on it.
- 1:12:01Speaker 16: But I wouldn't like you guys are like there's a
- 1:12:07Speaker 16: humongous difference between like football and baseball and basketball and
- 1:12:12Speaker 16: then like golf like this is noticeable. Just the eye
- 1:12:14Speaker 16: tests would tell you that, Like, we're not doing a
- 1:12:16Speaker 16: whole lot, but it is active.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: It's harder than you think.
- 1:12:21Speaker 16: But yeah, it's definitely not not rigging rigorous enough to
- 1:12:25Speaker 16: consider like a full blown sport.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: But we're in the sport family.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: We're just the way you handled that outrageous question was
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: extremely graceful, like.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Could have easily taken.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Right now.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it.
- 1:12:44Speaker 16: Man.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: You heard a lot of bunch of scoffs in the
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: back when you.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: Said that, because they all were thinking that it's not
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: When did you decide like they're when we were like,
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: this is this is for me what I'm gonna be
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: fantastic in.
- 1:12:56Speaker 16: A real sports Uh? So I played uh you know,
- 1:12:59Speaker 16: like football, basket well and golf. Those were like my
- 1:13:02Speaker 16: three like loves grown up receiver?
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:13:04Speaker 16: Were you a slot receiver? So I was gonna be
- 1:13:06Speaker 16: the great white Hope. I was a nasty corner.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's a boy from Iowa out there trying
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: to live the dream.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Right now. You see that that unicorn, we have to
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: protect it.
- 1:13:16Speaker 16: So uh but yeah, so I was like damn uh,
- 1:13:19Speaker 16: I was like eleven so It's not like I thought
- 1:13:21Speaker 16: of that at all, But uh, I think who was
- 1:13:24Speaker 16: a seahorn back in the day.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Yeah he was, so I mimicked my game after him.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: Yeah I was.
- 1:13:31Speaker 16: I was all right, I I I'm fast, like that's
- 1:13:33Speaker 16: kind of my thing. Never was a big guy, but
- 1:13:35Speaker 16: I can. I can fly around a little bit. And uh,
- 1:13:39Speaker 16: I like saying that because you can't prove that I can't.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: So h looks like you can. Probably it looks like
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: you can run around a little bit, though, Yeah, but
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: you're never gonna.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: See it when you're like at a Part five or
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: something like that. Get a good sprint to your ball,
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: kind of show everybody what's what.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: That would be funny if you like hit it a
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: little bit.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Like yack down there, dude, that would be awesome. That'd
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: be incredible.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Ye.
- 1:14:02Speaker 16: I was like eleven, and my dad kind of astutely said, hey, man,
- 1:14:06Speaker 16: if you want to be a professional athlete, like you
- 1:14:09Speaker 16: need to pick one, like this is your time, Like
- 1:14:11Speaker 16: you need to treat it like a job.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: And he goes, I think you should only be doing one.
- 1:14:15Speaker 16: And I sat there and looked in the mirror and
- 1:14:16Speaker 16: I'm like, I'm five foot two, can't really jump. I
- 1:14:21Speaker 16: think I'm fast, but I've met a lot of guys faster,
- 1:14:24Speaker 16: and I was like, I think golf's the way to
- 1:14:26Speaker 16: do it.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: So it wasn't like I thought that I was baby
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: better at golf, but I felt like it might fit
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: me better.
- 1:14:31Speaker 16: It didn't get hit, nobody had to hit me, and yeah,
- 1:14:34Speaker 16: so then it was like from eleven on, I quit
- 1:14:36Speaker 16: everything else and started going on the golf course six
- 1:14:40Speaker 16: days a week.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: My parents would drop me off and bang balls.
- 1:14:43Speaker 16: I didn't know I was gonna make it, make it
- 1:14:46Speaker 16: for a while, but I've always said, man, for anybody
- 1:14:48Speaker 16: who's ever made it, and probably anything, but especially sports,
- 1:14:52Speaker 16: you need like the perfect amount of delusion because if
- 1:14:55Speaker 16: when you tell a kid, like I remember, I had
- 1:14:57Speaker 16: teachers be like, what do you want to do in
- 1:14:58Speaker 16: your grow up? My mom be on the PJA tour
- 1:15:00Speaker 16: and they'd be like, okay, but if that doesn't work out,
- 1:15:01Speaker 16: what are you gonna do?
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, why the fuck would that not work out?
- 1:15:04Speaker 16: Like I work at this as hard as you work
- 1:15:05Speaker 16: at your job, like it's gonna work, but like, looking
- 1:15:08Speaker 16: back on it now is like a thirty two year
- 1:15:09Speaker 16: old dude It's like the fact that a kid I
- 1:15:12Speaker 16: was just like, yeah, of course I'm gonna make it.
- 1:15:13Speaker 16: Here is like you have to be a bit crazy,
- 1:15:16Speaker 16: but like you have to have enough of that realism
- 1:15:20Speaker 16: and awareness to know that like it's gonna be really hard,
- 1:15:24Speaker 16: but and you have to change things, not like I'm
- 1:15:26Speaker 16: just gonna wake up and just make it. But also
- 1:15:28Speaker 16: you have to have enough delusion to ac anytime anybody
- 1:15:31Speaker 16: everybody ever said hell man, you know that's that's crazy,
- 1:15:34Speaker 16: Like you might need a backup plan. I could look
- 1:15:36Speaker 16: at you and be like, no, like that's that's not
- 1:15:39Speaker 16: how you make it. You don't make it with the
- 1:15:40Speaker 16: backup plan. So it's kind of fun. But I was
- 1:15:43Speaker 16: thankful my dad did that when I was young, because
- 1:15:46Speaker 16: you do. In my opinion, you need to unless you're
- 1:15:48Speaker 16: one of those freak you know, Bo Jackson type people,
- 1:15:50Speaker 16: like you need to focus on one thing because there's
- 1:15:53Speaker 16: so many people that are working at it and that
- 1:15:55Speaker 16: are great at it that like you can't be wasting time.
- 1:15:58Speaker 16: I couldn't be wasting time trying to, you know, figure
- 1:16:00Speaker 16: out if I was going to blow up the guy
- 1:16:02Speaker 16: in the flat or not.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Like that's just that, don't been waste my time.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: So you guys seem like you're more the the family style,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: that is, pick do one sport when you're growing up.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: I want, I want, because I know you probably are
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: aware of those arguments.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I like golf. It could be likef you might have
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: to put in that type of.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Golf of those sports, and hockey is one of those sports.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: I gets. I grew up at thirteen in hockey. You
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: can't do anything else, Like you gotta go do this.
- 1:16:25Speaker 16: If I want my kid, if he decides to play sports,
- 1:16:27Speaker 16: I want him to play all of them because I
- 1:16:28Speaker 16: do think it makes you a well rounded human. Like
- 1:16:30Speaker 16: I think that there are golfers who have grown up
- 1:16:33Speaker 16: and only played golf, and I think that they they
- 1:16:35Speaker 16: only play yeah, and I don't think that's a good
- 1:16:37Speaker 16: thing personality wise. Is great for their their their game,
- 1:16:40Speaker 16: but like I don't think that's yeah, that's what it
- 1:16:42Speaker 16: does feel like that it's like they take some of
- 1:16:44Speaker 16: themselves very seriously and it's like our biggest most popular
- 1:16:48Speaker 16: golf tournament is just a party that's Scottsdale.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: So it's like we're not we're low on the totem pole.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: We're growing. Tiger put us, everybody on the map.
- 1:16:58Speaker 16: He changed the change the landscape of golf forever for
- 1:17:00Speaker 16: all the professionals. But at the end of the day,
- 1:17:03Speaker 16: I do think that it's important to play a lot
- 1:17:05Speaker 16: of sports just to get I also think it helps
- 1:17:07Speaker 16: with your hand to eye. I think all those things
- 1:17:10Speaker 16: are important to growth. But yeah, I mean, it's golf
- 1:17:14Speaker 16: is different. It is it will always be a slower, older,
- 1:17:18Speaker 16: older person sport just because it's not taxing on the body.
- 1:17:21Speaker 16: It's the thing that all you know, so many athletes
- 1:17:23Speaker 16: and so many super athletes decide to like play after
- 1:17:26Speaker 16: because it's you know, I was on a phone call
- 1:17:28Speaker 16: with Larry Fitzgerald yesterday and he is obsessed with golf.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: You've never met so many more obsessed with golf. And
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: this dude is a no, no doubt or Hall.
- 1:17:35Speaker 16: Of famer probably, I mean, he should be in the
- 1:17:38Speaker 16: conversation for best of all time. And this dude just
- 1:17:41Speaker 16: wants to like, he's asking me questions about how do
- 1:17:43Speaker 16: I get better at golf? Because that's the thing is
- 1:17:45Speaker 16: it doesn't beat him up anymore.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: It's a passion. It is hard.
- 1:17:48Speaker 16: But I think that his personality and his outlook towards
- 1:17:51Speaker 16: the game is benefited from the fact that he played
- 1:17:54Speaker 16: other things growing up. And I think that's why people
- 1:17:56Speaker 16: love Larry and golf now because he doesn't take himself
- 1:17:59Speaker 16: seriously because he's humbled by the game of golf. But
- 1:18:01Speaker 16: we all also respect him because he's a legitimate freak
- 1:18:04Speaker 16: of nature.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: When you keep saying that golf is always gonna be
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: an older man's sport, how do you like, in what
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: ways can we make the younger generation appreciate golf more? So,
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: I'll give you Like for example, like when I'm in
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: high school, me and all my buddies never thought about
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: golf at all. As soon does everyone graduated college. All
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: of a sudden, all my boys are picking up clubs
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: and doing whatever, and like this is great for business,
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: This is great for that. Like how do you start
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: leaking into the high school like that? You know the
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: younger age is that they start picking up the clubs
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: more so it needs.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: To be more accessible. So golf course I grew up
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: on is par sixty one.
- 1:18:39Speaker 16: So most golf course Part seventy two public golf course
- 1:18:41Speaker 16: had a par three course, nine holes, the longest holes
- 1:18:43Speaker 16: one hundred and fifty yards, and it was owned by
- 1:18:45Speaker 16: a company called American Golf, and they had a deal
- 1:18:49Speaker 16: at least in all the ones that they owned around
- 1:18:52Speaker 16: where I grew up that you know, if you were
- 1:18:55Speaker 16: under like twelve eleven or somewhere like that, you could
- 1:18:58Speaker 16: play the part three course for one dollar all day
- 1:19:02Speaker 16: and then you've played the big one for like sixteen dollars.
- 1:19:06Speaker 16: And as golf is boomed because of the pandemic golf
- 1:19:10Speaker 16: blew up across the country, golf course are getting more expensive.
- 1:19:14Speaker 16: And that's okay, it's a business, but like let the
- 1:19:16Speaker 16: kids play, like, get him out there, get him out playing,
- 1:19:19Speaker 16: get him out. The deals on hitting balls like bang
- 1:19:21Speaker 16: the balls is let's just say it's eight dollars a bucket,
- 1:19:23Speaker 16: make it three so that they don't have to go
- 1:19:25Speaker 16: beg their parents for twenty dollars and you know, like
- 1:19:28Speaker 16: make them feel like it's it's okay.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: And also it will I.
- 1:19:32Speaker 16: Don't know if this one will ever change, but the
- 1:19:33Speaker 16: adults need to get that are at the golf course
- 1:19:36Speaker 16: need to clean up their act and stop kind of
- 1:19:39Speaker 16: ho humming. Uh oh man, I'm playing with a kid today.
- 1:19:42Speaker 16: It's like my dad would always say that, and he
- 1:19:44Speaker 16: liked it because I was, you know, a good player
- 1:19:46Speaker 16: as a young young kid. But he would say, you know,
- 1:19:48Speaker 16: we get paired with another another two dudes that you
- 1:19:50Speaker 16: obviously don't know, us strangers, and he would he'd say
- 1:19:53Speaker 16: he always loved it because they'd roll their eyes to
- 1:19:54Speaker 16: their friend, like, oh god, we got to play with
- 1:19:56Speaker 16: this kid today. And my dad would make me play fast,
- 1:19:58Speaker 16: like if I if it took me too long to
- 1:19:59Speaker 16: get off box, he would just have me play up
- 1:20:01Speaker 16: where his drive was.
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: But like by the end of the day, these guys like,
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: oh my god, this kid's so good.
- 1:20:05Speaker 16: But it's like, don't you like judged me before, you
- 1:20:08Speaker 16: Like the point is to get in, like get people
- 1:20:09Speaker 16: into this game so that the pros are doing.
- 1:20:12Speaker 13: Uh.
- 1:20:13Speaker 16: I think a good job I have, Like I know,
- 1:20:15Speaker 16: Patrick Can'tley hosts three golf tournaments on the court.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: On the tournaments.
- 1:20:19Speaker 16: We grew up playing in Southern California in the SCPGA
- 1:20:23Speaker 16: Southern California Professional Golf Association. So then I'm doing my
- 1:20:26Speaker 16: first one in two weeks, and I think that helps
- 1:20:28Speaker 16: a little bit, kind of giving kids that look up
- 1:20:31Speaker 16: to you know, maybe you know, even if they aren't
- 1:20:33Speaker 16: into golf, but they have to watch it because their
- 1:20:35Speaker 16: dad makes them here and there and they say, hey,
- 1:20:37Speaker 16: you know so and so is hosting a golf tournament.
- 1:20:39Speaker 16: I want to play in that one day. Maybe that
- 1:20:41Speaker 16: could be an avenue. But I just think accessibility and
- 1:20:44Speaker 16: these adults need to chill. Like if a kid's being
- 1:20:47Speaker 16: loud at the golf course, you don't need to reprimand them,
- 1:20:49Speaker 16: like go just say, hey, you know, we're a little
- 1:20:51Speaker 16: quieter here to respect thing, but like, don't make it
- 1:20:54Speaker 16: where I have to walk on eggshells because I felt
- 1:20:57Speaker 16: like that as a kid a lot. And fortunately my
- 1:20:59Speaker 16: dad didn't make me double down and feel that. He's like, hey,
- 1:21:02Speaker 16: you know, kind of like screw them. Do your thing,
- 1:21:04Speaker 16: but be respectful. But he said in a nicer way.
- 1:21:06Speaker 16: But there's just like this stuff, it can be stuffy,
- 1:21:10Speaker 16: and that just turns kids off. The kid's attention spans
- 1:21:13Speaker 16: are doore. That's why football so like it's like America's sport,
- 1:21:17Speaker 16: and it's so fun to watch because it's like quick,
- 1:21:20Speaker 16: quick hitting.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Highlights like highlights in golf.
- 1:21:23Speaker 16: Like you, they're slow and they're not as riveting, but
- 1:21:26Speaker 16: if you ever played the game, you'd be like, fuck,
- 1:21:28Speaker 16: that's amazing. You know, but it's just like it's it's
- 1:21:31Speaker 16: not like right off the top of your head that
- 1:21:33Speaker 16: it would be like so clearly fun. So I hope
- 1:21:36Speaker 16: that I hope that as things go on, like kids
- 1:21:38Speaker 16: will start to feel more welcome to come out to
- 1:21:41Speaker 16: the course because I tell I tell all the people
- 1:21:43Speaker 16: who are just even my friends as you reference there
- 1:21:45Speaker 16: to get out of college and like, man, I want
- 1:21:46Speaker 16: to play golf. I don't embarrass myself. I'm like, I'm like,
- 1:21:49Speaker 16: who are you worried is going to embarrass you? And
- 1:21:52Speaker 16: they'll be like, oh, you know, there was this guy
- 1:21:53Speaker 16: that was playing the other day. I said, we'll just
- 1:21:55Speaker 16: picture this. If I come out, I'll beat the shit
- 1:21:57Speaker 16: out of that guy at golf, like he'd be embarrassed
- 1:21:59Speaker 16: to play with me. I don't give a shit, So like,
- 1:22:01Speaker 16: you go play, just go have fun, do your thing.
- 1:22:03Speaker 16: Don't like that's the problem. There's like this weird there's
- 1:22:06Speaker 16: a weird thing in golf that I'm hoping slowly gets
- 1:22:10Speaker 16: torn down a bit.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: But is that a weird thing You're kind of implying,
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: is that they get uppity vibe? Think it is? But
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: I just think, like, okay, So if I go play.
- 1:22:19Speaker 16: If I went and played football with you guys, obviously
- 1:22:21Speaker 16: I would look like an actual like a draft, like
- 1:22:23Speaker 16: a baby giraffe out there, like I wouldn't know what
- 1:22:25Speaker 16: to do. A baby catch a few I'd maybe trip
- 1:22:28Speaker 16: a few times. I'd look like an idiot. But I
- 1:22:29Speaker 16: feel like the nature of that sport, like the intuition
- 1:22:35Speaker 16: isn't just to immediately like make fun of that person.
- 1:22:37Speaker 16: It's like, you know, it's just like, oh, it's fun.
- 1:22:40Speaker 16: It's a backyard game, you know, But golf doesn't feel
- 1:22:42Speaker 16: like a backyard game at least and how it was
- 1:22:44Speaker 16: made it was a gentleman's sport.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: It's a gentleman's game, but it's like it is it
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: should be a kid's game.
- 1:22:50Speaker 16: Shit, We're whacking a fucking golf ball through the air
- 1:22:53Speaker 16: and everyone sucks at it like I suck at it sometimes,
- 1:22:56Speaker 16: like it's so hard. So I just think that there
- 1:22:59Speaker 16: is an uppitting to it that like as you get
- 1:23:01Speaker 16: better and you have to pay to play. So I
- 1:23:04Speaker 16: guess maybe part of is kind of like going back
- 1:23:05Speaker 16: to the public transportation, the sky thing. Oh I'm paying
- 1:23:08Speaker 16: three hundred dollars for a flight. I don't want this
- 1:23:10Speaker 16: baby crying behind me. It's like, well, tough shit. Like
- 1:23:13Speaker 16: there's a kid out here gonna learn and he just
- 1:23:15Speaker 16: wants to get better at the same game you want
- 1:23:17Speaker 16: to get better at. Like let him like, let him
- 1:23:19Speaker 16: have a chance, let her have a chance, and just
- 1:23:21Speaker 16: see what happens and make it fun and make it enjoyable.
- 1:23:23Speaker 16: There's something weird about Maybe it's just the price point
- 1:23:26Speaker 16: of it that I think people feel entitled to, like
- 1:23:28Speaker 16: this is my day and I want it to go
- 1:23:30Speaker 16: exactly how I think it should go, and it just
- 1:23:33Speaker 16: drives me nuts. I'm glad I grew up at the
- 1:23:35Speaker 16: golf course I grew up at, because it was not
- 1:23:37Speaker 16: like that nearly as much. It was a men's club.
- 1:23:41Speaker 16: All the boys have beers. I would sit there and
- 1:23:43Speaker 16: wait for my dad to finish. I'd hit balls, get
- 1:23:46Speaker 16: a soda, and we would go home. And it was
- 1:23:48Speaker 16: very like everyone can play, no one's getting strokes, Go
- 1:23:51Speaker 16: prove yourself, and that's how you grow up and learn.
- 1:23:53Speaker 16: But golf in general just doesn't seem like it's gotten
- 1:23:57Speaker 16: over that hump fully yet, but I think it will.
- 1:23:59Speaker 16: I think Tiger made an enormous impact on that because
- 1:24:01Speaker 16: he made kids feel cool to play golf, at least
- 1:24:04Speaker 16: for me. When someone's like, oh, you play golf as dorky,
- 1:24:06Speaker 16: I'm like, go watch this fucking guy play golf.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Because it is not dorky is it's exciting and it's cool.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: I think what Netflix is doing too with that, Yeah,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: like the formula one, yeah, formula, but them doing it
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: with the golf and everything else. I think that's going
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: also for you, like giving you your flowers. To me,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: it's like the way you are your personality on social media,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: you do make it seem like you have an edginess
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: a looseness about you to where you make the golfing
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: fun like good day, bad day. You're still gonna whether
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: it's you need to show up on social media or not,
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: Like you make it seem like, oh, he's he doesn't
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: take it so serious, even though you are a pro
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: at your craft. Clearly, if anybody's listening to this, it
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: seems like you've been all in on this thing for
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: a while. But I like admire from Afar your ability
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: to play good or play bad and talk about it
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: in a way that's like relatable to people.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: I feel like people take a liking to you. Thank you. Yeah,
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: I guess, I guess I I'd put it is. I don't.
- 1:25:01Speaker 16: I take what I do very serious. I don't take
- 1:25:03Speaker 16: myself very serious. And I hope that kids and fans
- 1:25:06Speaker 16: of golf grasp that like concept, because like, I want
- 1:25:12Speaker 16: to be everybody every time I play, but I also
- 1:25:15Speaker 16: know that if I don't, it's not everyone's problem that
- 1:25:18Speaker 16: I didn't.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, mine, And like I said, I want golf to flourish.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: And I love this game and it is it has
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: a lot of benefits to it for you know, business
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: and honestly just joy. And so it's like at some
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: point it's it's fun and we're playing golf in a field. Man,
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: It's it's awesome. But there's just little little walls we
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: got to knock down. Netflix. That's a great point.
- 1:25:43Speaker 16: They'll do a great job of showcasing, at least for
- 1:25:46Speaker 16: kids to be able to see in a real TV
- 1:25:48Speaker 16: show like, oh shit, maybe I want to try that
- 1:25:51Speaker 16: and like then get out and do it because it
- 1:25:52Speaker 16: is weird man, like every like you said, every single
- 1:25:55Speaker 16: one of my friends right after college like fuck man,
- 1:25:57Speaker 16: Like I want to learn how to play golf, which
- 1:25:58Speaker 16: I do, and I'm like, god, dang, she would have
- 1:26:00Speaker 16: said this we're fifteen, because I would have had a
- 1:26:02Speaker 16: lot more friends.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: I know it's it's ten twenty right now. We know
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: you got to go. But the last thing we'll ask
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: is you seem like your mindset is just like really
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: just well done. Like you seem like you've really put
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: things into perspective, understanding that just because I lost doesn't
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: mean it's everybody else's issue, enjoying whether you win or
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: lose in the way you projected to everybody else. Like
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: how is that, Like, is your mindset always been that
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: way or did you have to navigate through the ups
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: and downs of golf to really find the calm that
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: you're dealing with right now?
- 1:26:32Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean even the like it goes ebbs and flows.
- 1:26:35Speaker 16: Some days I can act like an asshole. I try
- 1:26:37Speaker 16: to keep it to myself, but like if you're you know,
- 1:26:40Speaker 16: you know, Joe, my wife Lacy, like they would know
- 1:26:43Speaker 16: when I'm being kind of a dick about it.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: But I guess.
- 1:26:48Speaker 16: A lesson I learned, Like I've always thought of myself
- 1:26:50Speaker 16: as a respectful person. And I remember I had a
- 1:26:53Speaker 16: really bad attitude for a while, like through college, and
- 1:26:56Speaker 16: I can't remember it if exactly what happened, But it
- 1:26:59Speaker 16: was one day where I think someone like almost point
- 1:27:02Speaker 16: out to me, like when if there's two other people
- 1:27:04Speaker 16: at least playing with us every day, and if I'm
- 1:27:06Speaker 16: being an asshole out there, that person has to deal
- 1:27:09Speaker 16: with me and I'm ruining their day, And I'm like, oh,
- 1:27:11Speaker 16: that's not what I mean to do, Like I'm just
- 1:27:12Speaker 16: trying to ruin my own day. Yeah, So, like I
- 1:27:15Speaker 16: guess that's kind of when. I also have a bad
- 1:27:17Speaker 16: attitude in my own head now, but I try my best.
- 1:27:19Speaker 16: Like some people will be like, oh man, you're so
- 1:27:21Speaker 16: calm and your attitude so good. It's like some days
- 1:27:23Speaker 16: it's not very good. I just don't want people to
- 1:27:25Speaker 16: see that anymore because it's embarrassing and it's and it's rude.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: Like it's rude to the other guys out there.
- 1:27:31Speaker 16: That I play against, who are also trying to do
- 1:27:33Speaker 16: the same shit I am if they got to deal
- 1:27:35Speaker 16: with some little sour puss, you know, stomping their feet
- 1:27:38Speaker 16: and stuff.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: But no, it's it's everything's that ebb and flow.
- 1:27:41Speaker 16: But I think as I've I've gotten older, I've just
- 1:27:45Speaker 16: realized that you're gonna have good weeks you're gonna have
- 1:27:46Speaker 16: bad weeks, and at the end of the day, you
- 1:27:49Speaker 16: know the the journey is is that that's that's the
- 1:27:54Speaker 16: fun part. The winds come, the winds go, things, things things.
- 1:27:58Speaker 16: You have bad weeks, you know where it feels like
- 1:28:01Speaker 16: the end of the world, But like the fun part
- 1:28:02Speaker 16: is just getting basing that forever. And I think as
- 1:28:06Speaker 16: I've gotten older and appreciated that, I've appreciated some of
- 1:28:08Speaker 16: the bad days more because it's like, all right, this
- 1:28:10Speaker 16: is the day I'm going to learn. When you win,
- 1:28:12Speaker 16: you learn a little bit, but you when you fail,
- 1:28:14Speaker 16: you learn quite a bit. And before I would kind
- 1:28:17Speaker 16: of back myself away from that and be like, God,
- 1:28:20Speaker 16: sucks doing this, But knowing that you're not gonna win
- 1:28:22Speaker 16: every golf tournament, it's kind of you can appreciate the
- 1:28:25Speaker 16: weeks where you have to grind and dig it out
- 1:28:27Speaker 16: a little bit and turn you know, nothing into something.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: So but it's all been a learning curve.
- 1:28:33Speaker 16: I mean, if you ask my friends when I was
- 1:28:34Speaker 16: sixteen to twenty, they probably thought it was the biggest
- 1:28:37Speaker 16: toolbag in the world playing golf.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: But I've been trying to get a better hit that brother.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: It's been an absolute pleasure having you on this show
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: and thank you guys.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: You guys are the best PreK heel. Yeah.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: Man, it's been fun watching social media. For those of
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: you subscribe, unsubscribed, resubscribe. Our favorite golfer of all time,
