- 0:00Speaker 1: So last month, on the episode of Bonus Round, I
- 0:03Speaker 1: was not feeling well. Uh, and this month Matt is
- 0:10Speaker 1: not feeling well. Yeah, and so hopefully next month's episode
- 0:16Speaker 1: we will both be well right as rain, Right as rain.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm just hoping you don't. You don't in a one
- 0:25Speaker 1: month's time get me sick again. Yeah, it's weird how
- 0:28Speaker 1: it's on this delay. You'd think, you know, living together,
- 0:32Speaker 1: we would get each other's illnesses immediately.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, right, But that's not how this has happened, is Yeah,
- 0:38Speaker 2: and this show only releases once a month, so we
- 0:41Speaker 2: know it's been a month. Uh huh is that strange?
- 0:45Speaker 1: My god? Have we been thinking each other's getting each
- 0:48Speaker 1: other sick? When really the world's the problem.
- 0:51Speaker 2: The world's always the problem. We should have known, we
- 0:54Speaker 2: should have stop fighting each other like we have been
- 0:57Speaker 2: for these last fourteen seconds.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yes, I love it unity at last.
- 1:04Speaker 2: No, I'm feeling okay, I sound worse than I feel. Yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 2: that makes sense. So my head's probably going to be
- 1:12Speaker 2: a bit scrambled on account of like cold and flu medicine.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I got a bit of a sore throat, and I
- 1:18Speaker 2: hope it doesn't sound too terrible or do it. Do
- 1:20Speaker 2: it sound like when people are sick and it's a
- 1:22Speaker 2: bit sexier not?
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh yeah, okay, yeah, i'd say yes, and I'm
- 1:28Speaker 1: the one whose opinion counts on that.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, So apologies. If this isn't a pleasant voice to
- 1:35Speaker 2: listen to, it's good not. Everyone else doesn't have to
- 1:38Speaker 2: think that, though, yes they do, they really don't.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to practice being a.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Bully, bullying me by everyone's got to think you're so
- 1:50Speaker 2: goddamn sexy. Yeah, like all bullies, due, Yeah, all bullies
- 1:55Speaker 2: come up to you and go, hey, you know what
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna do. I'm going to make everyone around us
- 1:59Speaker 2: think you're the sexy person ever. I'm such a great bully, you.
- 2:03Speaker 1: See why I need practice. Not very good at it yet.

- 3:30Speaker 1: to things that we're doing, such as our live show
- 3:32Speaker 1: at the Peak Improv Theater. May the twenty fourth.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yes, May the twenty fourth be with you. It's gonna
- 3:40Speaker 2: be Star Wars themed because you know what, twenty twenty
- 3:42Speaker 2: five is known for, the absolute peak cultural zenith of
- 3:46Speaker 2: Star Wars. It's never been more popular, it's never been better.
- 3:50Speaker 1: The Star Wars has never been higher quality than twenty
- 3:53Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Now, it's gonna be a great chance to roast it
- 3:58Speaker 2: and to celebrate the silliness of it in our first
- 4:02Speaker 2: live show with a live audience.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Ooh, that's going to be so good because I love
- 4:09Speaker 1: hearing people laugh and making each other laugh when we're
- 4:12Speaker 1: recording the episodes, So every episode to me is a
- 4:15Speaker 1: live episode.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah. That's why I'm feeling kind of chill about the
- 4:19Speaker 2: whole thing, because it's going to be the thing we've
- 4:21Speaker 2: done for the last four years. Yes, we're so practiced
- 4:25Speaker 2: at it, Yes, and so we just get to share
- 4:28Speaker 2: that with some people at the Peak Improv Theater. Luckily
- 4:32Speaker 2: many people, Hopefully many people. Two people will definitely be
- 4:36Speaker 2: sharing it with other than yourself and Jason, who will
- 4:40Speaker 2: also be there as our team captains. Yes, we can
- 4:43Speaker 2: announce that we've got two very top local comedians on
- 4:48Speaker 2: the lineup for our May the twenty fourth show. We
- 4:51Speaker 2: have stand up comedian Casey Fras and improviser and Tune
- 4:56Speaker 2: Titan musical improviser Julia Bosi.
- 5:00Speaker 1: They are so funny and they're just so fun to
- 5:02Speaker 1: be around. People at the Peak Improv Theater know them
- 5:05Speaker 1: because they are regularly doing shows there. But I'm so
- 5:08Speaker 1: excited for people who listen to Gateleapers to get to
- 5:11Speaker 1: hear the hilariousness that is them.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm I find them so funny. I'm so thrilled
- 5:18Speaker 2: they said yes because they're just two of the funniest
- 5:22Speaker 2: people in the city. And they said yes to appearing
- 5:24Speaker 2: on our panel for a Star Wars episode in twenty
- 5:27Speaker 2: twenty five. So good luck to them.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And you know who else needs some good luck us
- 5:35Speaker 1: because no one has sent in anything for the mail
- 5:38Speaker 1: bag this week.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Ah, this month, this month. That makes it worse. That
- 5:42Speaker 2: makes it worse.
- 5:43Speaker 1: God. As a result, though, I have taken a look
- 5:46Speaker 1: at our patreon. Oh nice, and there's a few comments
- 5:49Speaker 1: on the Patreon that I wanted to share because they
- 5:52Speaker 1: made me happy.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Oh hell yeah, thanks for commenting on the patreon guys.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yes, it brings me such joy. Kristin f on The
- 6:01Speaker 1: Street Fighter press Play said, such a fun episode. This
- 6:05Speaker 1: is one of my husband's favorite movies. I'm more of
- 6:09Speaker 1: a Mortal Kombat goal myself. Great quiz at the end,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and I liked the interesting trivia facts. Excellent job. Agreed,
- 6:17Speaker 1: excellent job. Yeah, thank you, Kristin. That was a good episode.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I loved that episode of press Play. Yes, they did
- 6:26Speaker 1: a great job. I'm loving the games at the end. Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: as well. You can find a talking about a thing
- 6:32Speaker 1: podcast anywhere. But the comedy that they bring in the games, that's.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Here, baby, that's Gateleapers, you know that's gate Leapers. Yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 2: that's what we're doing. That's what Drew and Jason are
- 6:42Speaker 2: doing every month with press Play. If you've not started
- 6:45Speaker 2: listening to them yet, because you're like, oh, I'll wait
- 6:47Speaker 2: for a few episodes to pile up and then i'll
- 6:51Speaker 2: binge them. I think now's a good time to catch
- 6:53Speaker 2: up on those press Play episodes. Yeah, get in early,
- 6:57Speaker 2: get in early.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Yeah, get in on the ground floor at this great opportunity.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And then in four years time there'll be the press
- 7:04Speaker 2: Play live show.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Gosh, you're gonna want to be there.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 2: We're promoting for things that are happening in four years
- 7:11Speaker 2: time now, a full Olympic cycle away.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Worth it for this podcast. Worth it. Kristen also complimented
- 7:20Speaker 1: Jason and my stand up sets.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I posted both Audra and Jason's first stand
- 7:27Speaker 2: up sets onto the Patreon. I don't think you'll find
- 7:30Speaker 2: better first time stand up sets. It's it's wild. They're
- 7:33Speaker 2: both so good.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I've read a couple of books on stand up comedy,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and they said that the worst thing that you can
- 7:39Speaker 1: do is have a good first set. And in that case,
- 7:45Speaker 1: Jason and I have both royally fucked up because they went, well.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Are you doing an open mike tomorrow night?
- 7:53Speaker 1: You're doing an open mic tomorrow night? Absolutely past will
- 8:00Speaker 1: see how it goes.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Oh, it'll be It'll be amazing. I mean, it might
- 8:04Speaker 2: not be as good as an incredibly friendly and supportive
- 8:08Speaker 2: comedy theater.
- 8:09Speaker 1: There's no way it will be. But I need to
- 8:13Speaker 1: be put in a different comfort zone. It's it's not
- 8:17Speaker 1: shark tank, shark tank, lions Den, lions Den. Yes, thrown
- 8:22Speaker 1: to the wolves.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the phrase we got there, get in there
- 8:26Speaker 2: with a bunch of scary animals.
- 8:28Speaker 1: God, wolves are so cute. I'm so glad that they're
- 8:30Speaker 1: nowhere near me because I God, i'd want to pet it.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Danger pet.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yes, such a risky babe. We also got a comment
- 8:40Speaker 1: from William m on the Twin Peaks Pandemonium that we
- 8:44Speaker 1: ended with twin points.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's brilliant. It was one of our tie episodes.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I love I love a thematic tie. Yes, and twin
- 8:55Speaker 1: points absolutely made it into a thematic tie.
- 9:00Speaker 2: A little bit disappointed on our panel for no one's
- 9:03Speaker 2: saying that at the time, but thank you William M
- 9:05Speaker 2: for saying that.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yes, I'll be keeping an eye out more in the
- 9:10Speaker 1: future for fun jokes relating to the points at the end.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you have inspired me. Yeah, see, you're funnier than
- 9:18Speaker 2: our panel.
- 9:20Speaker 1: No, don't tell me.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah sorry. Confidence for the open.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Mind and Justin Dodberg, says Justin Dodberg himself, the Legend says,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I am loving these Matt versus Odra segments. Me too.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Well, look, I was loving them the first month, but
- 9:40Speaker 2: I'm currently down a point. It's two one to order overall,
- 9:45Speaker 2: so I'm loving them less.
- 9:48Speaker 1: So Justin is going to be in agreement with whichever
- 9:51Speaker 1: one of us is winning the most of them.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yes, so at least one of us will always be
- 9:56Speaker 2: agreeing with Justin as it should be.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you all for commenting on our patreon
- 10:02Speaker 1: and for just being on there with us.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's really awesome. As you know, the Patreon is
- 10:08Speaker 2: a better place to be because then no ads.
- 10:11Speaker 1: No ads, no ads, And honestly, since they're smart ads,
- 10:16Speaker 1: it's both the thing of being marketed at and being like,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I know what you'd like.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like it's a.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Weird mirror up to yourself in a way that I
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't want. No, just come over to the.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Patreon where the only mirror will hold up to you
- 10:31Speaker 2: is one of those wacky mirrors that changes the shape.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Of you in like a really fun but like ooh,
- 10:36Speaker 1: we yeah, do I hate this? Do I love it?
- 10:39Speaker 1: It does make me laugh?
- 10:41Speaker 2: That's most of our reviews.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I'm never coming up with a new name for this
- 10:47Speaker 1: next segment of the lily Pad of Irrelevancy.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I don't believe we haven't topped it.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't think even if there is something that technically
- 10:55Speaker 1: is better, it isn't to me.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Well, you know, Gateleapers at gmail dot com send in
- 11:02Speaker 2: your muses for order to read out. But also, is
- 11:05Speaker 2: there a better name for this segment than the lily
- 11:08Speaker 2: than the lily Pad of irrelevancy.
- 11:10Speaker 1: There's so few things that are like hosting duties that
- 11:14Speaker 1: I can read better than you because you have so
- 11:16Speaker 1: much practice, But lily Pad of irrelevancy.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I can barely say it.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Ooh rolls off the tongue for me.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And with a cold, it's just like.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Oh you sound like a little frog.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Well it's perfect, that's thematic. See the branding makes sense.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It does. So what do you have for us on
- 11:35Speaker 1: the lily pad of irrelevancy?
- 11:36Speaker 2: Well, this month on the lily Pad of irrelevancy, I
- 11:41Speaker 2: can say it. We'll look back at the last two
- 11:44Speaker 2: Fandemonium episodes that I wrote and that we recorded, and
- 11:48Speaker 2: that we performed and that you listened to. So first up,
- 11:52Speaker 2: we're going to go back a few weeks to the
- 11:54Speaker 2: Dangan Rompa episode Dang what a ramp ah yep. I
- 11:59Speaker 2: mad some attempt at that joke during the record and
- 12:02Speaker 2: it went just as well. I think yours was better. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 2: that was such a blast. Thank you once again to
- 12:09Speaker 2: the Ultra Hope girls and of course to Aaron Randolph
- 12:13Speaker 2: for being part of that fantastic line up. Such a
- 12:15Speaker 2: fun episode. I didn't really have anything else to do
- 12:19Speaker 2: with Dangan Rompat specifically kind of. It was a crash
- 12:24Speaker 2: course for me in two weeks learning everything about it.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Oh there's a lot, and it all went into the episode,
- 12:30Speaker 2: everything that I did learn. But we did play a
- 12:33Speaker 2: very fun game of fan fickle in that one.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I love our games, including fan fiction because it's such
- 12:41Speaker 1: a fun area of most fandoms. Yeah, where you can
- 12:45Speaker 1: just play in that space where there's some really really
- 12:48Speaker 1: good stuff and there's some very peculiar stuff.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Oh for sure, such strange stuff as we saw with
- 12:56Speaker 2: the extracts in that episode, real genuine fan.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Fix Uh huh, ball Monacuma.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Ball Monicicuma, crush me under your ball? What singular yep,
- 13:08Speaker 2: because he's all one big ball. I guess. Guess What
- 13:11Speaker 2: a beautiful space, What a fantastic area of the internet. Yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 2: so it was the fanfic that was the highlight for me.
- 13:19Speaker 2: We could probably do an hour on the history of
- 13:22Speaker 2: fan fiction if that's what I'm inspired by, but I don't.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We don't have the time. Who wants to hear that
- 13:29Speaker 2: I do?
- 13:29Speaker 1: But I understand, I understand exactly.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So look, we'll touch on some modern origins a little bit,
- 13:38Speaker 2: like a tiny, little fun pop culture history thing, and
- 13:41Speaker 2: then I'll just define a bunch of fan fiction terms. Well,
- 13:45Speaker 2: because that's a bit more snappy.
- 13:46Speaker 4: You know.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that is good.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So odrum. My question for you is guess which fandom
- 13:53Speaker 2: popularized fanfic as we know it today.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think I know this, Okay, I don't know how
- 14:00Speaker 1: I know this, Yes, I do the Internet. I've been
- 14:05Speaker 1: in spaces on the Internet. I think it was Star Trek.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It was Star Trek. Yeah, you've been in spaces and
- 14:11Speaker 2: you've been in space.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Took the enterprise, Yeah, very into all
- 14:20Speaker 1: areas of the fanfic universe. I was sure there was
- 14:25Speaker 1: other words that I could drop from that opening words. No,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I don't remember them.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You said universe. That was probably a word in there.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Score.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, fanfic as we know it now, where it's like fans.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I mean, this is going to sound like a really
- 14:40Speaker 2: simplistic breakdown, but fans writing fiction.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Hmmm, that's what that stands for.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, just in case you know. Yeah, So, fanfic as
- 14:50Speaker 2: we know it was popularized and defined by the Star
- 14:52Speaker 2: Trek fandom and its fanzines ooh yeah, published throughout the
- 14:58Speaker 2: sixties and seventies.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Oh gosh, I've been thinking about zines lately.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Every generation thinks about zines.
- 15:09Speaker 1: The amount of like little zines I made as a child,
- 15:13Speaker 1: as like craft.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Projects, same oh, bring it back, bring it, bring it back.
- 15:20Speaker 2: These are these fanzines. They were mostly like just diy,
- 15:23Speaker 2: like produced at home, like screen printing that kind of thing.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I don't want to say printing press, but the modern
- 15:29Speaker 2: version of a printing press.
- 15:31Speaker 1: What was the Bible but Utenberg's zine.
- 15:37Speaker 2: That is a very good history joke.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Thank you. I have an open mic tonight.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 2: They were produced at home by fans and essentially mailed
- 15:48Speaker 2: to other fans where like mailing lists would be collected
- 15:52Speaker 2: at like sci fi conventions, where also the zines would
- 15:56Speaker 2: be distributed, and usually it was just like a small
- 16:01Speaker 2: cost to cover the production. No one really looked to
- 16:05Speaker 2: profit from these scenes. Kind of like how podcasts are
- 16:10Speaker 2: in the fan space today. I would say, like most
- 16:13Speaker 2: fan podcasts that I know, unless they're backed up by
- 16:17Speaker 2: some huge media conglomerate, are kind of just looking to
- 16:21Speaker 2: break even to keep the thing aflow and provide the
- 16:24Speaker 2: fan service of community. A beautiful thing, A beautiful thing.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And unlike other aspects of fandom, women women.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Women what unlike other aspects of fandom.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Women women, that pretty much applies to most fandoms. Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 2: women with the primary authors of fan fiction. And it's
- 16:47Speaker 2: gone a little more balanced in the Internet age. But
- 16:51Speaker 2: back for the Star Trek fan fiction in nineteen seventy
- 16:55Speaker 2: eighty three, percent of Star Trek fan fiction authors were female,
- 17:00Speaker 2: and it was ninety percent by seventy three. A utopia,
- 17:05Speaker 2: I mean yeah. The prevailing academic theory is that fan
- 17:09Speaker 2: fiction is popular with women because the language of film
- 17:12Speaker 2: and TV is still entrenched in the male gaze in
- 17:16Speaker 2: ways that you don't even think about. Women do to
- 17:21Speaker 2: get the you don't even think, you don't think about,
- 17:26Speaker 2: so to get the kinds of stories and character development
- 17:29Speaker 2: and themes that you want from the same characters, it's
- 17:32Speaker 2: much easier to write fanfic than try to enter an
- 17:35Speaker 2: industry that already isn't very friendly towards you to begin with,
- 17:40Speaker 2: especially in the sixties and seventies. Mm hmm.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And when you can be a part of those communities,
- 17:46Speaker 1: those fan communities with it like building other people up
- 17:50Speaker 1: in these spaces. Yeah, absolutely would.
- 17:53Speaker 2: You would you so would so. If you think back
- 17:56Speaker 2: to our Dangan Rumpa episode the do you remember Dangan
- 17:59Speaker 2: Rumper six nine the thick with Luigi?
- 18:03Speaker 1: Oh? Yes, yes, oh yes I do? How could I forget?
- 18:07Speaker 2: In that episode I mentioned that that particular thick is
- 18:11Speaker 2: known as a crack thick. Yes, do you know what
- 18:14Speaker 2: a crackfick is?
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm sure there is a better description of this, but sure,
- 18:19Speaker 1: uh crazy for crazy's sake?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much exactly that. They're intentionally comedic, ridiculous and
- 18:27Speaker 2: universe breaking fix They purposefully play in the realm of
- 18:31Speaker 2: non canon. They're often the result of like a challenge
- 18:35Speaker 2: made from one Thick writer to another, of like, oh,
- 18:37Speaker 2: wouldn't it be funny if Luigi was in Dangan Romper
- 18:41Speaker 2: and maybe throw a Peka Chew and Beter Griffin in
- 18:43Speaker 2: there as well. And the name crack Thick it literally
- 18:49Speaker 2: comes from people posting on forums that, look, you must
- 18:52Speaker 2: have been on crack when you wrote this. Yeah, yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 2: are you high on crack? What's par Rappa the rapper
- 18:59Speaker 2: doing here?
- 19:00Speaker 1: What's happening? You must be doing a drug?
- 19:04Speaker 2: Have you been snorting crack? Why is Spiro at Hogwarts
- 19:09Speaker 2: because he wants to be He can fly, he is
- 19:11Speaker 2: a dragon. Let him Hagrid would take good care of him,
- 19:15Speaker 2: he would. Another type of VIC that we regularly mention
- 19:19Speaker 2: on the podcast is slash fiction slashvic. Yes, are you
- 19:23Speaker 2: familiar with slashviik ouldra Oh.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Of course I am, of course I'm familiar.
- 19:30Speaker 2: For the benefit of our listeners who may not be
- 19:32Speaker 2: so educated. Would you like to give a quick definition
- 19:35Speaker 2: of slash fiction.
- 19:36Speaker 1: My understanding from my adventures on the internet is the
- 19:43Speaker 1: name of a character slash another character, and they are
- 19:46Speaker 1: typically romantic entanglements. Yes, we're included within the fiction.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Pretty much that, but with the extra layer of their
- 19:55Speaker 2: pretty much always same sex characters in these relationships. I
- 20:00Speaker 2: think it's just known as like shipping when it's sort
- 20:04Speaker 2: of like characters that have hegemonically been presented as a
- 20:10Speaker 2: heterosexual couple and therefore they're together on screen anyway.
- 20:13Speaker 1: M Oh, yeah, that could happen yea within the heteronormative
- 20:18Speaker 1: space that this.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Is exactly like all I can think of is lost,
- 20:23Speaker 2: but it would be like Jack x Kate or Kate
- 20:29Speaker 2: x Sayer, whereas we're looking more at Kirk slash Spock,
- 20:34Speaker 2: which was the original slash fik and where the name
- 20:37Speaker 2: originates from. Ah And similar to why women are often
- 20:41Speaker 2: fanfic authors and especially historically, slash fiction is also a
- 20:45Speaker 2: way to explore your favorite world, but through a queer
- 20:48Speaker 2: lens instead of that previously mentioned hegemonic something that most
- 20:52Speaker 2: people don't even think about, but it can mean a
- 20:55Speaker 2: lot in terms of being able to access a story
- 20:58Speaker 2: is tell of very similar Keep the tone, keep the vibe,
- 21:02Speaker 2: but switch the lens, switch the perspective. And then the
- 21:06Speaker 2: final type of thick I'm gonna define is probably the
- 21:09Speaker 2: most wholesome kind of fanfic. It's called fluff thick or
- 21:14Speaker 2: just fluff. Oh yes, this kind of thick is plot light,
- 21:20Speaker 2: more like seeing your favorite characters in Slice of life,
- 21:23Speaker 2: everyday situations with very little drama.
- 21:27Speaker 1: The fluff that I have read has typically been like
- 21:32Speaker 1: found family or like like a wholesome date. Yeah, then
- 21:38Speaker 1: they go and they eat ice cream and then everyone
- 21:41Speaker 1: has a lovely.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Time, whereas the slash fick would be like they go
- 21:45Speaker 2: and they eat ass and cream and cream yeah, which
- 21:50Speaker 2: I shouldn't be saying that during the fluff.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Thick section because ye, get that out of here.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Is generally free of romantic entanglements, unless it's like a
- 22:00Speaker 2: little little soft thing or like companionship maybe. And the
- 22:05Speaker 2: rise in popularity of the cozy genre, like cozy fiction,
- 22:09Speaker 2: is very much in line with what has been in
- 22:11Speaker 2: fanfic for the last like thirty forty years, and I
- 22:15Speaker 2: guess it's because the world is becoming more hectic and
- 22:19Speaker 2: story wise, we keep on insisting on doing the hero's
- 22:21Speaker 2: journey in Western civilization, we keep finding Catharsis with it. Why,
- 22:27Speaker 2: I don't know. But with that, I get the appeal
- 22:30Speaker 2: of fluffick, I get the appeal of cozy fiction.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Of just just a hug. Yeah, like I want to
- 22:36Speaker 1: if you want it or not, if you don't.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Or not if you don't. Yeah, Like you want to
- 22:41Speaker 2: escape to a fantasy world, but you don't want the
- 22:45Speaker 2: stress and drama of narrative.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Because there's so much all the time.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And if that's what's happening in the real world, do
- 22:53Speaker 2: you really want that in your fiction?
- 22:55Speaker 1: If you can't find that calm and that lack of
- 22:59Speaker 1: things happen and your brain just needs a little bit
- 23:02Speaker 1: of time, a little respite, a fluff could really do that.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, go get some fluff, Go get some fluff, Go
- 23:09Speaker 2: get fluffed. Yeah, go fluff yourself. And last week's Pandemonium
- 23:15Speaker 2: was double O seven James Bond, I'm gonna get you, Bond.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You'll never take the queen.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Uh, mister Bond, I am a fresh slice of s
- 23:27Speaker 2: just for you.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Hello, mister Bond, I am another fresh slice of ass.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But I'm secretly a double agent.
- 23:37Speaker 2: The two genres of women in Bond fiction. Yeah, it
- 23:41Speaker 2: was kind of hard to ignore the masculinity of it
- 23:44Speaker 2: all when looking at old Bond clips. I'm aware that
- 23:49Speaker 2: I have a relatively deconstructed approach to things, but because
- 23:54Speaker 2: of that, Bond is borderline drag to me at this point.
- 23:59Speaker 2: A specially those classic films like the Sean Connery The
- 24:03Speaker 2: Roger More.
- 24:04Speaker 1: There is such an element of like performative bravado.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it's so hyper masculine that it becomes camp.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I was thinking camp, but I'm like, do what, Yeah
- 24:16Speaker 1: I do? Yeah, yeah, I mean, like the swirl of
- 24:20Speaker 1: the drink and the.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Cigar exactly, the Clinton Special. Yeah. It Basically every Bond
- 24:28Speaker 2: film has a fast car, of course, hot girl, absolutely,
- 24:33Speaker 2: suave tucks, indubitably latest gadgets, couldn't do without them, and
- 24:39Speaker 2: a confident drink order, something no man in the history
- 24:42Speaker 2: of men has ever been able to do.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Can I get it to Jack and Cope?
- 24:47Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 24:48Speaker 1: No, that's fine, No, that's fine if you don't have Jack.
- 24:50Speaker 2: That's literally everyone who listens to this podcast feels seen.
- 24:55Speaker 2: It's I mean, it's basically in every Bond film, it's
- 24:58Speaker 2: a list of all the thing that have been marketed
- 25:01Speaker 2: towards men for the last seventy years, And there's obviously
- 25:05Speaker 2: a bit of that involved in the sense that a
- 25:07Speaker 2: lot of like role X's as like a little gadgety thing,
- 25:11Speaker 2: or certain types of high end cars often get paired
- 25:15Speaker 2: with James Bond movies to like sell to the same
- 25:19Speaker 2: kind of audience. It makes sense synergistics or sergistic So
- 25:25Speaker 2: that's why a lot of these things that I just
- 25:27Speaker 2: listed form the identity of what masculinity is in the
- 25:32Speaker 2: modern age, at least from a commercial perspective. But to me,
- 25:36Speaker 2: it's basically a parody at this point. Hence why like
- 25:39Speaker 2: a Bond coded drag king would be pretty awesome. Oh, like,
- 25:43Speaker 2: there's a lot to play with there, I feel.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Could I pull that off?
- 25:48Speaker 2: Ooh, you'd have to work on your English accent?
- 25:51Speaker 4: Is that?
- 25:51Speaker 2: How would be crucial?
- 25:52Speaker 1: I think I'd have to work on my English accent
- 25:55Speaker 1: because I don't think essex essex bond, essex Bond. I
- 26:01Speaker 1: don't think that's gonna track now love they I love
- 26:07Speaker 1: Shaken not starred, drink any drink you want a porn
- 26:11Speaker 1: star Martine Shaken not stare.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I see why they've not done it.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's bad, it's not good. And with my incredible
- 26:22Speaker 1: essex accent, oh if I couldn't pull it off, there's
- 26:25Speaker 1: a reason it doesn't exist.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I see it. But just because these things
- 26:30Speaker 2: seem like a bit of a parody at this point,
- 26:33Speaker 2: almost like I've got a fast car, I got it's
- 26:37Speaker 2: I'm a man. If you happen to align with with that,
- 26:42Speaker 2: and that's your like, your presentation of masculinity as an individual,
- 26:47Speaker 2: that's not a bad thing. You should like what you like,
- 26:49Speaker 2: You should be who you want to be, and if
- 26:50Speaker 2: that's how your identity lines up, then great. It's the
- 26:54Speaker 2: branding of our age for a reason, right, like mm hmmm.
- 26:59Speaker 2: On the right person, masculinity plus fastcar, hot partner, suave TuS,
- 27:05Speaker 2: newest gadget, and a confident drink order. But I don't
- 27:07Speaker 2: believe they'd be able to achieve that. It's a great
- 27:10Speaker 2: luck on the right person. It's a great luck on
- 27:13Speaker 2: the right person. Chef's kiss chefs, and you know what
- 27:17Speaker 2: a lot of chefs, it's good on them, uh huh.
- 27:21Speaker 2: And if you do like all of those things to
- 27:23Speaker 2: the absolute maximum, it does mean you're easily susceptible to
- 27:28Speaker 2: subliminal social coding. But all that really means is your
- 27:32Speaker 2: basic And if basic is the worst thing I'm calling
- 27:36Speaker 2: you right now, then you must be doing pretty good.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You must be a pretty great person if that's the
- 27:41Speaker 2: worst thing that some goddamn hipster on a podcast is
- 27:44Speaker 2: calling you.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and as someone who does like a pumpkin spice latte.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Welcome, Welcome to the basic world. Welcome to gendered basic.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Birds of a feather, fluff together and you've louffed. Now
- 28:04Speaker 1: that's about enough. Unity. Oh, we're gonna fluff against one
- 28:10Speaker 1: each one another.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Fluff off you, fluff off, Go fluff yourself.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Get the fluff out of here. Fluff you. I'm doing v's.
- 28:18Speaker 1: You can't see, No, they can't see fluff. Let's play
- 28:24Speaker 1: a game. You find out who has to fluff.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Off Matt versus Audra.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Watch out for my villain Era.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Don't mess with the games Master, Captain power up. I'm
- 28:35Speaker 2: going to score all the points.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Passing knowledge was enough.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to your doom.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I just hope we have a lot of fun.
- 28:44Speaker 2: And ignore this sentence. If you're a goddamn loser, you're
- 28:48Speaker 2: going down.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I want to fight. Welcome back Aaron Randolph of gate
- 28:57Speaker 1: Leapers and BFY tw Hello, Hello, Aaron.

- 29:27Speaker 3: Aaron Randolph, and the person speaking has been in this
- 29:29Speaker 3: locale for the entire duration the game. We're playing a
- 29:35Speaker 3: game that's so good. We spun it off unchanged from
- 29:38Speaker 3: the unchanged spinoff that had been spun off unchanged.
- 29:43Speaker 2: A very good.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I am going to have our players perform some improvisational
- 29:50Speaker 3: prompts they have never seen before. Isn't that right? Players?
- 29:57Speaker 2: It's so true, and I preempted the fallmat point I've
- 30:00Speaker 2: seen one hundred times.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I won't know if I have seen these particular create
- 30:05Speaker 1: numerous sound prompts until they appear.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Well, thank you.
- 30:10Speaker 1: My ignorance is inherent in the process.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Brenna Lee Mulligan. So yeah, let's
- 30:20Speaker 3: have some fun. We're going to get straight into it.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I am going to make Audre go first, because Audrey
- 30:24Speaker 3: is currently winning. That is fair, all right, So Audre,
- 30:28Speaker 3: here is your prompt a speech accepting an award for
- 30:32Speaker 3: coping with rapid onset extreme anxiety.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Thank you so much for this experience. I've really grown
- 30:41Speaker 1: a lot over the course of Oh my god, has
- 30:46Speaker 1: it only been six months? Jesus Christ, it's felt like
- 30:49Speaker 1: an eternity. Oh yep and ooh all of you are here.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And God, if it was only people I didn't know,
- 31:00Speaker 1: that'd be fine. But it's all the people I respect
- 31:04Speaker 1: most in my life and that I'm gonna have to
- 31:05Speaker 1: see tomorrow. That's not helping. I didn't know you were here.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh God, anybody gonna play me off, I'll hit.
- 31:23Speaker 3: My fake buzzer. Okay, that was excellent? Is five points
- 31:31Speaker 3: a good enough amount of points? Is that good? Is
- 31:34Speaker 3: that okay? Is that okay?
- 31:35Speaker 5: Okay?
- 31:35Speaker 1: If that's okay with you? Oh?
- 31:36Speaker 3: Is that okay with you? Though? Is my concern?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:39Speaker 1: Anyway, I'm fine.
- 31:40Speaker 3: If you're fine, well done, well done, and we're gonna
- 31:45Speaker 3: move on to Matt. It's time for your first promise.
- 31:47Speaker 3: If you are ready, sir, I am all right a
- 31:51Speaker 3: nighting ceremony where King Charles can't stop hinting how relentlessly
- 31:55Speaker 3: horny he is.
- 31:58Speaker 2: It's so good to be gathered to him amongst the
- 32:01Speaker 2: the finest young gentleman of our land. Yes, oh, now,
- 32:06Speaker 2: if you just get down on your knees, yes, it is.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It is tradition. We've been doing this for millennia.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I just told her a pillow.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Well, you know what, you might be down there for
- 32:19Speaker 2: a while, so we will get you a pillow. Now,
- 32:23Speaker 2: grasp my rod. Yes, it's a big it's a big rod.
- 32:31Speaker 2: It came from my mother gave me.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I'm going to cut you off there.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Oh my god. That felt.
- 32:41Speaker 3: I honestly didn't know how much worse it could get.
- 32:44Speaker 3: And then my mother gave me it is okay, all right,
- 32:50Speaker 3: Uh yeah, that's just a royal amount of points for you, sir,
- 32:56Speaker 3: Well done, Yes, Andre, if you're ready for your second
- 33:00Speaker 3: I am a Dungeons and Dragons player using the game
- 33:03Speaker 3: to overcome a ridiculous childhood hang up.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Like, I sent you my backstory about what my mom
- 33:09Speaker 1: would say in this situation, and I just I don't
- 33:14Speaker 1: know if like her offering for like me to cook
- 33:18Speaker 1: the mule harvest dinner. I don't know if you'd necessarily
- 33:22Speaker 1: like offer it to me that willingly. I think she might.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I might have to fight my mom to let me
- 33:29Speaker 1: like do at least anything on the mule the Yule
- 33:32Speaker 1: harvest dinner, like just like I just want to like
- 33:34Speaker 1: decorate like one pie. And I feel like she might
- 33:37Speaker 1: have like a kind of a problem with that, and
- 33:39Speaker 1: I can be like, forget you, mom, I can make
- 33:42Speaker 1: I can make a pumpkin pie just like I mean
- 33:44Speaker 1: a uh a gourd a gourd pie. I can make
- 33:49Speaker 1: a gourd pie just as good as you can. I
- 33:52Speaker 1: think I just think that that's how she would react. Yees,
- 33:57Speaker 1: So if you could just roll for initiative.
- 34:01Speaker 3: The perfect button, Thank you. I don't even need to
- 34:04Speaker 3: cut you off. It was a genius all right, well done,
- 34:10Speaker 3: A a therapeutic amount of points for you. I feel
- 34:16Speaker 3: well done. Well, thank you, and onto Matt's second prompt.
- 34:21Speaker 3: You're ready, sir, I am ready. Matthew McConaughey defends himself
- 34:25Speaker 3: from a murder charge.
- 34:28Speaker 2: All right, all right, all right, let's take a look
- 34:31Speaker 2: at the jury here. See who we've got, all right, Yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 2: I think you know you know who I am you've
- 34:38Speaker 2: seen my movies. I'm losing this voice over.
- 34:43Speaker 1: It was a tentative impression.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Alright, start with you know what, Matthew mccada hay has
- 34:50Speaker 2: got a cold, right, let me let me get in
- 34:54Speaker 2: some of that. Let me say, as I'm stood here
- 34:57Speaker 2: on the witness stand that uh you know, I'm too
- 35:00Speaker 2: sex to have committed this, sir.
- 35:04Speaker 1: She did die of a heart attack, Yeah, because I
- 35:07Speaker 1: broke her.
- 35:07Speaker 3: God damn, I'm gonna cut you off there. Uh you you.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I struggled with that one, but I thought you played
- 35:18Speaker 3: with it well. Absolutely genius. A truly detected amount of
- 35:23Speaker 3: points for you, sir. Mmm, well done.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Nice?
- 35:25Speaker 3: All right, Odra, It's time for your third prompt. Jennifer
- 35:29Speaker 3: Coolidge meets her evil twin, Kennifer Jewelidge.
- 35:34Speaker 1: So, thank you for meeting me here today. My psychic
- 35:39Speaker 1: said that I just needed to reach out to this
- 35:43Speaker 1: email address, and you responded. It was incredible. Well, I
- 35:49Speaker 1: just received this EMO from someone and I just my
- 35:53Speaker 1: like spiritual healer told me that I should respond to
- 35:56Speaker 1: new energies coming out in the universe to meet me,
- 36:01Speaker 1: and I just felt like this was it. I don't
- 36:04Speaker 1: know how to get back into this accent unless I
- 36:06Speaker 1: say the word dog.
- 36:10Speaker 4: What.
- 36:11Speaker 1: I'm so happy that you brought your dog. It's it's
- 36:16Speaker 1: so my My dog doesn't have anyone to play with
- 36:18Speaker 1: typically when I'm own my spiritual journeys. Oh my god,
- 36:23Speaker 1: it's got big teeth. Is that that is that dog
- 36:27Speaker 1: at Hellhound? That dog at Hellhound? Yeah, you didn't see that.
- 36:32Speaker 1: My email address was evil dot Kennefer Jewlidge escape dot com.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I felt like I was going to meet someone who
- 36:41Speaker 1: was like on my level and who was going to
- 36:44Speaker 1: understand the situation that I live.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Oh, I'm just brilliant, beautiful. I'm gonna cut you off there. Oh.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I love that she didn't bother to read the email address.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yeah, why would She's She's Jennifer Coolidge.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I delighted in in every moment of that. A mighty wind.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Amount of points for you. Amount of points still literally
- 37:19Speaker 3: one of the funniest things I've ever seen. All Right, Matt,
- 37:23Speaker 3: your third prompt sir.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Yeah, gotta follow that.
- 37:27Speaker 3: The Highlander three blooper reel from the day Sean Connery
- 37:30Speaker 3: couldn't stop giggle farting.
- 37:39Speaker 4: I apologize for the shmell. I'm not sure true scotchman.
- 37:45Speaker 4: What a giggle, fart ish. But I know for sure
- 37:48Speaker 4: that my kiltish blowing in the wind. Short to speaking,
- 37:52Speaker 4: I'm got a rising nationalist passion coming up through my
- 37:57Speaker 4: stomach down from my bowels. And if you, if you
- 38:02Speaker 4: make me laugh one more time, I shweedt of God,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna blow my British perfect.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Perfect, cut it printed. We're good. Oh it's a wrap everybody.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Uh, I just realized that I interpret Highlander is brave hot.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Mel Gibson was there on high.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Well, yeah, he was hired for Highlander three because of
- 38:28Speaker 3: course he was. He was, he was popular back then. Anyway,
- 38:35Speaker 3: what can I do that doesn't bring up his enjoyment
- 38:37Speaker 3: of hitting women? Nothing? I guess double o seven amount
- 38:43Speaker 3: of points. I guess at.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Double o seven amount of points.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, then we'll go with that. Audre. This
- 38:49Speaker 3: is your last prompt in round one. Okay, I feel
- 38:53Speaker 3: a little sad, but here we go. Oudra Stevenson enters
- 38:58Speaker 3: her super villain era.
- 39:02Speaker 1: So I've learned how to email like a white man.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I think it's time that we just that. I email
- 39:09Speaker 1: a contractor to bulldoze the highest building in my town
- 39:13Speaker 1: and erect an even bigger building with my name on it.
- 39:19Speaker 3: There you go.
- 39:19Speaker 1: The toilets are going to be made of gold. I'm
- 39:22Speaker 1: just gonna plate my name in front of it, and
- 39:26Speaker 1: everyone's gonna be like, Wow, what a big penis Auger Stevenson. Wow,
- 39:32Speaker 1: that they really know their stuff and we should elect
- 39:37Speaker 1: them president of the United States of America.
- 39:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna cut you off.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Wow.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Oh man, I should have known you'd go that direction.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I just I didn't know.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I didn't see it. But it was well done, Absolutely
- 39:57Speaker 3: well done. Sixte Pennsylvania Avenue amount of points for you whoa.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Absolutely well big amount of points.
- 40:05Speaker 3: It really is none bigger. I'm gonna stop doing. I'm
- 40:09Speaker 3: gonna stop doing that impression. Yeah, Matt, your final prompt
- 40:14Speaker 3: in round one. Yes, without any help from the players,
- 40:18Speaker 3: an episode of Pandemonium gets completely away from that.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Okay, yep, okay, my Google drive is just frozen. Okay,
- 40:28Speaker 2: let me just reset this here. I can't. I can't
- 40:30Speaker 2: actually do this without reading the laptop.
- 40:32Speaker 3: In front of me.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I'm tune it for four years. You think i'd know
- 40:36Speaker 2: it by now?
- 40:36Speaker 3: Here? We go?
- 40:37Speaker 2: Okay, it's up now great, Okay, so we're gonna play
- 40:40Speaker 2: a game of which fat is it? Is it django
- 40:44Speaker 2: or Boba fat? Or is it the secret third option?
- 40:48Speaker 2: Jimmy Fat?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Okay, Buffet in Paradise, am I am?
- 40:54Speaker 3: I right?
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yeah, when we do the Jimmy Buffett episode, Well yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 2: that would be a great line. The bood document's gone again.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Okay, it's okay. It's like you could just make it up.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I didn't read the I didn't read the show notes beforehand, anyway.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Okay, well, oh okay, I think that was a fought.
- 41:12Speaker 2: I just check.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna cut it off there, thank you.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I didn't know where to go from ship.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Oh my god. I love that you started with technical
- 41:26Speaker 3: difficulties and then and then Odor completely ignored the whole
- 41:29Speaker 3: without any help from the players and decided to help anyway.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Sorry, I think purely because her husband was struggling, fake
- 41:38Speaker 2: struggling in front of hers.
- 41:39Speaker 3: That's fair. It's fair. Listen. You gotta be willing to
- 41:41Speaker 3: jump in. It's always helpful in improv, in.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Life, the field, you know everything. Always jump in.
- 41:51Speaker 3: A quick fire round. Amount of points for you, Matt,
- 41:55Speaker 3: very well done, great, good right, Well that was the
- 41:58Speaker 3: end of round one and before we determine who is
- 42:03Speaker 3: gonna go home with the coveted not golden ear, but
- 42:07Speaker 3: instead the silver tongue. Doctors and legal have both required
- 42:14Speaker 3: me to say that do not put it anywhere near
- 42:16Speaker 3: any orifices. Not only will the silver tarnish, but your
- 42:22Speaker 3: hospital bills will be extensive. So anyway, let's move on
- 42:27Speaker 3: to round number two, where our players are going to
- 42:29Speaker 3: hold hands and jump into the abyss together. Audra Matt,
- 42:37Speaker 3: your first prompt of round two. These am radio hosts
- 42:41Speaker 3: are definitely sleeping together.
- 42:44Speaker 2: All right. It's Jeff and VICKI in the morning. It's
- 42:47Speaker 2: drive time. It's fun time. You've got your coffee, You've
- 42:50Speaker 2: got your Starbucks. You're ready for a great day ahead.
- 42:52Speaker 2: How about that, Vicky?
- 42:53Speaker 1: You would know a fun time, wouldn't You got your
- 42:57Speaker 1: coffee order this morning?
- 42:59Speaker 2: Oh yeah? Like it hot? Yes, you do?
- 43:03Speaker 1: You love it? Steaming hot oat milk latte, oat milk latte.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got talking about there.
- 43:10Speaker 2: You got to stay in shape these days. The amount
- 43:13Speaker 2: of time people close to be as seen by naked buddy.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Are you are keeping it tight? I mean, I wouldn't
- 43:21Speaker 1: really know, but from what I can tell, you are
- 43:24Speaker 1: absolutely keeping it tight as tight as the traffic in
- 43:27Speaker 1: the downtown area.
- 43:29Speaker 2: So tight, you know what, VICKI yes see you talk
- 43:34Speaker 2: into that microphone. It's really reminding me of.
- 43:37Speaker 1: S Is it reminding you that we have four more
- 43:42Speaker 1: episodes this week? Every single morning you can hear us
- 43:46Speaker 1: on whatever whatever the fuck name he said.
- 43:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna Oh man, I like doing that voice, but
- 43:58Speaker 2: I hate it that guy.
- 44:00Speaker 3: It was everything I wanted and more. Oh that was
- 44:05Speaker 3: so good. A five point fifty am in the in
- 44:10Speaker 3: the in the morning radio amount of points for you too,
- 44:13Speaker 3: that was just genius. Uh, weld stopped, well known, brilliant.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Start to move on to your second prompt of round two.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Dracula fucks up the whole routine.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Can I come into your house? This is not tread something?
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, Dracula, that's obviously you. I'm not gonna like
- 44:33Speaker 2: why would I let you in?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Sorry? I was practicing an accent and I thought I
- 44:38Speaker 1: thought that it was gonna like add to the ambiance,
- 44:40Speaker 1: but it really didn't work.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Wait, so you know not Dracula, No I am, I am.
- 44:44Speaker 1: It's just there's all this whole facade that comes with
- 44:47Speaker 1: being Dracula.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I know, I get it. It's what can be stressful.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I understand it's.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I don't even have a boss, but for some reason
- 44:55Speaker 1: that's like I'm just hard on myself and like I'm
- 44:58Speaker 1: just gonna I'm just gonna sit to do you and
- 45:00Speaker 1: sitting down with me. Yeah, bravo, bravo.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I from from minute one when I wrote this prompt,
- 45:15Speaker 3: I was hoping Audre was gonna jump in and play Dracula,
- 45:18Speaker 3: and I.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Got I was, I was ready to do it, and
- 45:22Speaker 2: I was so pleasantly surprised that it was genius.
- 45:26Speaker 3: It was genius.
- 45:28Speaker 6: I love Blue or Cover Immediately, I am oh, I
- 45:38Speaker 6: should have been more guileful of whoops.
- 45:42Speaker 3: I love that. That's fantastic. Uh all right, players, Well,
- 45:47Speaker 3: it feels like it's over too soon, but the last
- 45:50Speaker 3: prompt of our game is here. Uh and I hope,
- 45:55Speaker 3: oh please let this piece goes. I think it's gonna
- 45:57Speaker 3: be an as Mr couple having a bad breakup on
- 46:02Speaker 3: a live stream sh.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Just out of my life every Friday night, even though
- 46:14Speaker 1: you promised, you promised to take me to dinner.
- 46:21Speaker 5: Divorce settlement, settlement and.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Some paper sounds this is you're not leaving a note.
- 46:34Speaker 5: If you think you're taking the fucking dog. You can
- 46:38Speaker 5: guess again.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Emotional, cheating, emotional, it's all about the plot.
- 46:57Speaker 5: Just brushing my.
- 47:01Speaker 1: It's brunette, not like that blonde slut.
- 47:07Speaker 2: In the land.
- 47:09Speaker 5: You'll never see me again.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Oh man, that was so much fun. That was a
- 47:20Speaker 2: very good.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Problem was oh my gosh, I didn't even lean into
- 47:23Speaker 1: the fact that it was a live stream.
- 47:29Speaker 3: It's all good. Well, now I have to make a decision,
- 47:37Speaker 3: and I don't know which way I'm gonna go. You
- 47:39Speaker 3: were both brilliant, but just because just a little step
- 47:45Speaker 3: further in making bolder choices, I feel I have to
- 47:49Speaker 3: give this one to Audre.
- 47:51Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 47:52Speaker 3: I mean, you were both genius. I loved all of it.
- 47:55Speaker 3: I'm so glad we did this. I don't think I
- 47:59Speaker 3: like both hard and a long time.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Oh god, those prompts were so good.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Well, that is gonna be it for the premiere episode
- 48:09Speaker 3: of Create Numerous Sounds, and I hope you enjoyed it.
- 48:15Speaker 3: And Sam Reich, please don't sue.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Yeah, please don't say nobally in this segment, we've been
- 48:22Speaker 2: doing a game show from the nineties or something, so
- 48:24Speaker 2: we don't worry about being sued.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Normally, when we don't want to get sued, we'd say, allegedly,
- 48:30Speaker 1: so allegedly make some sounds, create numerous sound damn it.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I am such a huge fan of theirs and everything
- 48:39Speaker 3: they do over there, Like would a shout out be appropriate?
- 48:42Speaker 3: Or would that be a bad idea?
- 48:45Speaker 1: Oh?
- 48:45Speaker 2: Look, if you'll not subscribe to drop out, what you're doing?
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah, what are you doing with your life? Honestly, get
- 48:50Speaker 3: on Dropout. It is the best, the single best use
- 48:54Speaker 3: of six dollars a month that I can think you honestly,
- 48:58Speaker 3: it's so great.
- 49:00Speaker 2: It's a professional version of what they said a man.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well, entertainment value.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Genes, absolute, absolute hilarious stuff that they do over there.
- 49:11Speaker 3: And I'm so excited for season seven of Game Changers.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 49:16Speaker 3: So in any event, thank you so much for playing
- 49:19Speaker 3: with me. Guys.
- 49:20Speaker 2: This was a lot of thank you, Aaron.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Thank you so much for putting together such a fun game.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Something different. We've done nothing but like trivia for the
- 49:30Speaker 3: past two so I figured why not mix it up?
- 49:32Speaker 2: That's true, and I felt through mixing it up, I'd
- 49:35Speaker 2: maybe get to get back in the game a little bit.
- 49:37Speaker 2: But it's it's three one to hold.
- 49:39Speaker 1: I'm not gonna feel guilty.
- 49:43Speaker 2: You shouldn't to be fair.
- 49:44Speaker 3: To be fair, Matt, you were slightly handicapped, but I'm
- 49:48Speaker 3: sorry you're not feeling well, but you still gave a
- 49:51Speaker 3: hack of a performance, buddy, And I really enjoyed. I
- 49:54Speaker 3: really enjoyed all of it that was. That was amazing,
- 49:58Speaker 3: and part of me wishes we could do this every month.
- 50:00Speaker 3: But next time I'll find something even more crazy and
- 50:04Speaker 3: fun to do, and we'll do it. And I'm so
- 50:07Speaker 3: looking forward to it.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Same. Yeah, can't wait to see the play that is switched. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:17Speaker 2: that work.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it works. Find out next book. Thank you so much, Aaron,
- 50:24Speaker 1: and anyone listening check out bfy t W if you
- 50:27Speaker 1: love games.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Oh and of course, Raka and the Inevitability of Life. Yes, yes,
- 50:32Speaker 2: it's out now.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Oh it's such a bad host.
- 50:35Speaker 3: No you're not worry about it, don't worry about it.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Rica and the Inevitability of Life dropped March fifteenth.
- 50:42Speaker 3: You can buy it on Amazon, Burns and Noble and
- 50:44Speaker 3: anywhere you find books that are great because hopefully, hopefully
- 50:48Speaker 3: you'll think the same of Rica when you check it out.
- 50:51Speaker 3: But that's going to be it for me.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Absolutely, that was so much fun.
- 51:01Speaker 1: That was such a fun game.
- 51:03Speaker 2: That was another dream come true.
- 51:05Speaker 6: Uh huh.
- 51:06Speaker 1: We've been meaning to do more scenes together. Yeah, and
- 51:09Speaker 1: so it was so fun because normally in classes, because
- 51:13Speaker 1: we were together all the time, we try to do
- 51:15Speaker 1: as many scenes with other people as possible.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't tend to do a ton of scenes together.
- 51:20Speaker 1: But this was so much fun to just be like, no,
- 51:22Speaker 1: the rule is that I'm going for it.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Yeah you didn't obviously didn't see it on the audio version,
- 51:29Speaker 2: but for round two of that Ordro and I.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Just held hand held hair.
- 51:33Speaker 2: We realized that for the first time in this format
- 51:35Speaker 2: point we could work as a team. Yes, but you
- 51:38Speaker 2: know what, we're not a team anymore. No, And I
- 51:41Speaker 2: don't like that I'm losing three one. I'm the one.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Oh all that fun, all that fun, and it just means.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Not I I can tell you're genuinely bothered.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm furious, formatively furious.
- 52:01Speaker 1: So next month's episodes, we've got Firefly.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Yes, that's such a fun that we just recorded that one.
- 52:08Speaker 2: That was amazing. Such a cult fandom that is infamous
- 52:12Speaker 2: throughout fandom culture and history. Is it was canceled too soon.
- 52:16Speaker 2: It was canceled after one season, but with such a
- 52:19Speaker 2: core fan base that supports it.
- 52:21Speaker 1: And it's such a fun thing to see, Like, like
- 52:24Speaker 1: you said, such a cult fandom with such an intense
- 52:27Speaker 1: bace for something that was canceled too soon. Yeah, so
- 52:32Speaker 1: so so little in the grand scheme of how much
- 52:36Speaker 1: there could have been.
- 52:37Speaker 2: And it's silly sci fi. It's space cowboys, it's it's
- 52:40Speaker 2: a lot of fun for sure.
- 52:42Speaker 1: And we have SNL as well.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Yes, later in the months, three weeks from now. I
- 52:48Speaker 2: sometimes get confused about the schedule.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Its time.
- 52:51Speaker 2: We'll be revisiting fifty years of pop culture, fifty years
- 52:56Speaker 2: of celebrity guest hosts and music acts and sketch whchiz
- 53:01Speaker 2: by looking into the SNL fandom live from Colorado.
- 53:06Speaker 1: It's pandemonium.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Yep, that's gonna be my opening line in the sty
- 53:11Speaker 2: Sorry to spoil that, but if you listen to this
- 53:14Speaker 2: and then listen to that episode, oh, you'll be in
- 53:17Speaker 2: on the joke. Yeah, if you're listening chronologically, you'll be
- 53:21Speaker 2: in on the joke.
