- 0:10Speaker 2: Hey, what's happened? Everybody?
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome in to another edition of to check O Daily.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's Andrew de Checko here, Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds
- 0:18Speaker 1: dot Com. And this is Wednesday, which means it's the
- 0:21Speaker 1: first day that the Eagles return to the practice field.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Well, they had to walk through today.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But this kicks off a truncated week in anticipation of
- 0:30Speaker 1: Sunday afternoons one o'clock kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field with
- 0:34Speaker 1: the Las Vegas Raiders. And look, the Eagles have to
- 0:41Speaker 1: get back on the horse here. And when I look
- 0:44Speaker 1: at that twenty two to nineteen overtime loss on the
- 0:47Speaker 1: West Coast, to echo the words of running back Saquon
- 0:50Speaker 1: Barkley postgame from the visitors' locker room, so what now?
- 0:54Speaker 2: What?
- 0:55Speaker 1: And if that message is adopted by many on this
- 0:58Speaker 1: short week, it's a product the way in my estimation,
- 1:01Speaker 1: to approach the week. The abbreviated week in many ways
- 1:05Speaker 1: should be viewed as a positive for the Eagles, as
- 1:08Speaker 1: it doesn't allow much time to dwell on their shortcomings
- 1:11Speaker 1: from Monday night, but it also allows them to exert
- 1:14Speaker 1: their energy into Sunday's preparation. So as I mentioned the
- 1:18Speaker 1: Eagles had to walk through on Wednesday. I'll give you
- 1:20Speaker 1: that practice report in a moment. And Nick Sirianni also
- 1:24Speaker 1: spoke earlier in the afternoon, and I thought that he
- 1:27Speaker 1: offered some good perspective on numerous topics.
- 1:31Speaker 2: But let's get to the.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Practice report here, because because it was an estimation, it's
- 1:39Speaker 1: important to remember that well. Because it was a walkthrough,
- 1:42Speaker 1: it is an estimation, So not practicing today. Defensive tackle
- 1:46Speaker 1: Javen Carter's shoulders, tackle Lane Johnson, foot limited, guard Landon
- 1:50Speaker 1: Dickerson calf, full participant, linebacker Zach Bond hand and long
- 1:55Speaker 1: snapper Charlie Hewitt abdomen more on charge Hewet in a moment.
- 2:03Speaker 1: But I like to call this part the vibe check
- 2:05Speaker 1: because if you remember back to Saturday, before the Eagles
- 2:09Speaker 1: left for Los Angeles, Saquon Barkley said that he thought
- 2:14Speaker 1: that the vibes on the sideline on game days was
- 2:17Speaker 1: quote unquote awful, and he noticed that the practice that
- 2:21Speaker 1: the energy and practice walked through in meetings has been great,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but he did acknowledge that they need to now carry
- 2:27Speaker 1: that over to game day. And so I think he
- 2:32Speaker 1: is a valid point because the sideline demeanor is difficult
- 2:35Speaker 1: to gauge from the press box, certainly, but the TV
- 2:39Speaker 1: copies support this assertion. And you don't see the juice
- 2:43Speaker 1: and excitement from last season that was so prevalent and
- 2:47Speaker 1: it's now been pretty reserved. But as Barkley or most
- 2:50Speaker 1: Eagles offensive players will tell you, execution fuels emotion, which
- 2:54Speaker 1: is a phrase that is coined or made popular amongst
- 2:59Speaker 1: offensive players from Eagle's offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and
- 3:03Speaker 1: I wrote a story about how execution fuels emotion after
- 3:06Speaker 1: the game, based off of what Saquon bark We had
- 3:09Speaker 1: to say postgame at his locker at Sofi Stadium.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Hey, one thing that always scares me is the latest
- 3:14Speaker 3: financial scam. And with the holidays, it's all about finding
- 3:17Speaker 3: the perfect gift. But this time of the year, not
- 3:20Speaker 3: every deal is actually what it seems. You've got these
- 3:23Speaker 3: scammers getting more creative to trick people into sharing their
- 3:26Speaker 3: payment info through methods like fake shopping sites and giveaways.
- 3:30Speaker 3: You know they're too good to be true. Luckily, cash

- 3:46Speaker 3: instantly right in the app for extra control and peace
- 3:49Speaker 3: of mind. Gotta stay one step ahead of these scammers

- 4:27Speaker 1: But the execution hasn't been crisp this season offensively and
- 4:31Speaker 1: it likely contributes to that subdued energy that you probably
- 4:34Speaker 1: see and that individualized focus between drives. But for a
- 4:38Speaker 1: moment on Monday, Saquon provided a vintage splash play that
- 4:42Speaker 1: elicited emotion. But on Wednesday, Nick Sirianni offered his own
- 4:47Speaker 1: viewpoint on Barkley's energy assessment, and he said, I think
- 4:52Speaker 1: Sunday is about getting locked into what you're doing, not
- 4:54Speaker 1: that Monday Tuesday that is too. But everybody's in a
- 4:58Speaker 1: routine on the sideline, right, It's like that. It's like
- 5:00Speaker 1: the free throw shot. You want to go through your
- 5:03Speaker 1: same routine every single time in between series. Sometimes you're
- 5:06Speaker 1: focused on the routine and sometimes it's a result of, hey,
- 5:09Speaker 1: it's not going the way you want it to go.
- 5:12Speaker 1: There's a difference between being completely focused and locked in
- 5:15Speaker 1: when it's not going well. The vibe might not be
- 5:18Speaker 1: as high when it's not going well. I mean, I
- 5:20Speaker 1: think that's human nature, right, You're not going to be like, yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: we punted or whatever.
- 5:25Speaker 2: What we're focused on, locked in on is executing.
- 5:28Speaker 1: We're focused on trying to get them in the right
- 5:30Speaker 1: positions to succeed and go from there. I think you'll
- 5:33Speaker 1: see more vibe, I guess to say, because we're confident
- 5:36Speaker 1: as we start to execute and coach even better.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Speaking of vibes, you may have heard.
- 5:44Speaker 1: About the positivity bunny that was installed in the Eagles'
- 5:48Speaker 1: locker room on Saturday, and when we got in there
- 5:53Speaker 1: today Wednesday, that positivity budding was no longer there. But
- 5:58Speaker 1: it was meant to uplift guys, and I think it
- 6:02Speaker 1: was more so just a handful of guys, you know,
- 6:04Speaker 1: having a little fun, creating some smiles and making sure
- 6:07Speaker 1: that there was some levity there. Again, not as big
- 6:10Speaker 1: of a deal as what it was being made on
- 6:12Speaker 1: social media and whatnot. It's just in the marathon of
- 6:16Speaker 1: the season. There's no harm, no foul at doing something
- 6:19Speaker 1: like that, and that was just something that they were
- 6:22Speaker 1: a couple of the guys were having some fun with.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But as an update, it's no longer there in the
- 6:26Speaker 1: Eagles locker room.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher. And if you have a family

- 7:43Speaker 2: There's no saint like simply Safe.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I had a really good conversation with veteran cornerback of
- 7:49Speaker 1: Dori Jackson postgame at his locker after the Eagles lost.
- 7:55Speaker 2: To the Chargers.
- 7:57Speaker 1: But and I always enjoy my conversation with a dory
- 8:00Speaker 1: But just to outline this, this defense has been tremendous
- 8:06Speaker 1: this season. The Black Friday game against the Bears is
- 8:09Speaker 1: the outlier, sure, but there's been a lot of games
- 8:12Speaker 1: this season where they've won games for the Eagles, And
- 8:14Speaker 1: they played well enough on Monday Night to win that
- 8:18Speaker 1: game for the Eagles. Again, late in that game, when
- 8:22Speaker 1: you're playing as well as they are and you're on
- 8:24Speaker 1: the field as much as they are, you're gonna be
- 8:26Speaker 1: a little gas And I'm not making that. I'm not
- 8:28Speaker 1: saying that as an excuse by any means, but it's
- 8:31Speaker 1: the fact of the matter, and the credit justin Herbert
- 8:34Speaker 1: for who's not really known as a runner, but putting
- 8:36Speaker 1: the game in his hands and doing whatever it took
- 8:39Speaker 1: to win. And he probably cut the defense off guard
- 8:41Speaker 1: a little bit running the football, but he put them
- 8:43Speaker 1: in position to extend that game into overtime, and he
- 8:49Speaker 1: made plays in the extra period that I think deserve
- 8:53Speaker 1: to be mentioned. But what doesn't get brought up enough,
- 8:56Speaker 1: in my opinion, is that Adri Jackson has so lidified
- 9:00Speaker 1: that second cornerback spot.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And I think.
- 9:04Speaker 1: A lot of folks out there were a little overly
- 9:07Speaker 1: critical of Adri Jackson I didn't think that was fair. Sure,
- 9:11Speaker 1: the first couple of games, you can look at it
- 9:13Speaker 1: and say he gave up some catches and it seemed
- 9:16Speaker 1: like it was, you know, maybe that was gonna be
- 9:19Speaker 1: it got off to when I'm gonna start, We'll say that.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But A Dori Jackson has really stepped up, particularly over
- 9:24Speaker 1: the last three weeks, and provided solid play at that
- 9:28Speaker 1: cornerback spot. And I always enjoy talking to a Dory
- 9:32Speaker 1: one because he has such an interesting perspective and we
- 9:36Speaker 1: talk about things other than football. He's been around for
- 9:39Speaker 1: a while. He just has a really good understanding of
- 9:42Speaker 1: how to play the position. But he's very even keeled.
- 9:45Speaker 1: He doesn't get too high or too low. And perhaps
- 9:48Speaker 1: that comes with being a veteran and experiencing everything that
- 9:51Speaker 1: he has, whether it was with the Titans or the
- 9:53Speaker 1: Giants or now with the Eagles. But he's a steadying,
- 9:56Speaker 1: calming presence there at corner. And even despite all the
- 10:01Speaker 1: criticism and scrutiny that he was under, he just put
- 10:05Speaker 1: his head down and he worked.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 10:11Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 10:14Speaker 3: to your cannabis. Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 10:18Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 10:23Speaker 3: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 10:25Speaker 3: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Camped In Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their
- 10:33Speaker 3: staff makes sure you feel taken care of every time
- 10:37Speaker 3: you walk in. Plus, they carry only the best quality
- 10:40Speaker 3: cannabis at the fairest prices, so whether you're stocking up
- 10:44Speaker 3: for the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 10:48Speaker 3: you know you're getting the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 10:52Speaker 3: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 10:56Speaker 3: service members, and healthcare pros to carry top quality cannabis,
- 11:02Speaker 3: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 11:05Speaker 3: one and up.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I respect that tremendously, and I'm also just enamored with
- 11:12Speaker 1: his psyche and how he approaches that position, or at
- 11:15Speaker 1: least his role here in Philadelphia, because the Eagles at
- 11:18Speaker 1: every turn tried to find a way to replace him,
- 11:22Speaker 1: whether that was Keely Ringo, whether that was trading for
- 11:25Speaker 1: Jacoreyan Bennett in August, trading for JayR Alexander at the
- 11:29Speaker 1: trade deadline, and Adri has outlasted all of them. He's
- 11:33Speaker 1: the last man standing and there's a reason why Vic
- 11:36Speaker 1: Fangio referred to him as a survivor. But Dori Jackson
- 11:41Speaker 1: picked up his fifth career interception in the game against
- 11:44Speaker 1: the Chargers in a play that I think highlighted his
- 11:47Speaker 1: football savvy and I was really impressed with how he
- 11:52Speaker 1: was able to read that. And I have the quote
- 11:56Speaker 1: there because I actually asked him if he could walk
- 11:58Speaker 1: me through his interception, but it turns out that it
- 12:02Speaker 1: was Jalen Phillips, and you'll hear the quote, and Jalen
- 12:05Speaker 1: Phillips was the player who tipped the ball that allowed
- 12:08Speaker 1: him to make that play. But I want to go
- 12:13Speaker 1: back to there's just the calmness to a Doory that
- 12:16Speaker 1: I find to be admirable and even keeled approach and
- 12:19Speaker 1: taking everything in stride and focusing on controllable variables. And
- 12:23Speaker 1: he's also well versed in adaptability. I wrote a story
- 12:26Speaker 1: about him at fifteen years old, flying from Illinois to
- 12:32Speaker 1: California to chase a dream and how he couldn't thank
- 12:37Speaker 1: his parents enough for allowing him to go out there
- 12:39Speaker 1: and do that and go to Sarah High School junior
- 12:43Speaker 1: outa Sarah High School in California and give him more
- 12:47Speaker 1: opportunities and exposure in track where he was a standout,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and football, and that opened the door for him to
- 12:53Speaker 1: go to USC. So adaptability is something he's well versed
- 12:58Speaker 1: in perspective as well that I think played into him
- 13:02Speaker 1: embracing his opportunity with the Eagles.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm
- 13:07Speaker 3: not always in the mood to drink. And that's why
- 13:10Speaker 3: I looked for a great alternative and I found one.

- 14:35Speaker 1: This season, he's played an eleven games, seven starts, and
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know teams are avoiding and rightfully sell testing Quinna
- 14:43Speaker 1: Mitchell and Cooper de Gene. They seem to view a
- 14:46Speaker 1: Dori Jackson as a safer draw. Most teams will, but
- 14:49Speaker 1: the thirty year old has settled into his role and
- 14:53Speaker 1: he does a nice job of keeping things in front
- 14:55Speaker 1: of him, not letting anything go over his head and
- 14:57Speaker 1: making sure that he tackles on the perimeter to eliminate
- 14:59Speaker 1: your after the catch. Having a pretty significant pass rush
- 15:03Speaker 1: with Jalen Phillips and Nolan Smith returning and Jay looks
- 15:06Speaker 1: on playing lights out certainly helps alleviate some of the pressure.
- 15:10Speaker 1: But when there are plays to be made, Adori's made him.
- 15:14Speaker 1: He had two pass breakups I believe against the Chargers
- 15:17Speaker 1: and that interception, and that was in the second quarter actually,
- 15:23Speaker 1: and he stepped in front of tight end Ronde Gadsden
- 15:26Speaker 1: for that fifth career interception, And what he said to
- 15:28Speaker 1: me after the game was, I don't know who tipped
- 15:31Speaker 1: the ball, but whoever that was, they got a hand
- 15:32Speaker 1: on it. Shout out to them. That's really all. It
- 15:35Speaker 1: was just a great play by whoever the other defender was.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I just had a vision on the quarterback. It was
- 15:39Speaker 1: a two minute drill, just trying to see what they
- 15:42Speaker 1: wanted to do, just trying to say what they wanted
- 15:46Speaker 1: to and it's just so happened that once he was
- 15:50Speaker 1: throwing it to either Keenan Allen or the comeback to
- 15:52Speaker 1: the tight end, I was in position to break either
- 15:54Speaker 1: way to try to either make a tackle or to
- 15:56Speaker 1: try to get the interception on the comeback. But like
- 15:58Speaker 1: I said, whoever got the ball to get tipped in
- 16:01Speaker 1: the air to make it flow, I appreciate them a lot.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Today he told me is yeah, it was jaywhen Phillips.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But Nick Sirianni, when asked about Adorri Jackson what he
- 16:13Speaker 1: makes of his play, especially over the last few weeks,
- 16:15Speaker 1: he said, I think he's been doing some really good things. Obviously,
- 16:18Speaker 1: he had the big interception with the pressure that we
- 16:21Speaker 1: got right there, but was in a good position. I
- 16:24Speaker 1: think he's in a good position to make plays, willing
- 16:26Speaker 1: tackle or will to throw his body around to make tackles,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and so he's been doing a lot of good things.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I think last week the defense as a whole did
- 16:33Speaker 1: a really good job, and a Dory certainly was a
- 16:35Speaker 1: big part of that.
- 16:37Speaker 2: The Eagles also have a change at long snapper.
- 16:40Speaker 1: On Tuesday, they announced that they moved on from interim
- 16:43Speaker 1: long snapper cal Adamitas, who signed with the Eagles on
- 16:46Speaker 1: September thirtieth, and light of the core muscle injury sustained
- 16:49Speaker 1: to veteran long snapper Charlie Hewlett, Adam Ightus appeared in
- 16:54Speaker 1: nine games for the Eagles. He even registered a pair
- 16:56Speaker 1: of tackles in punk coverage in the team's Sunday night
- 17:00Speaker 1: went over the Lions and wasted little time establishing chemistry
- 17:03Speaker 1: with kicker Jake Elliott and punter Holder Braden Mann. But
- 17:06Speaker 1: a day later, Wednesday, unsurprisingly, the Eagles announced the opening
- 17:10Speaker 1: of Hewlett's twenty one day practice window. Charlie Hewlett is
- 17:13Speaker 1: thirty five years old. He signed the Eagles in free
- 17:15Speaker 1: agency following a ten year stint with the Cleveland Browns.
- 17:18Speaker 1: He missed some time early in training camp with a
- 17:20Speaker 1: neck injury, though the injury that landed Hewlett on injury
- 17:23Speaker 1: reserve was that core muscle injury. He served as the
- 17:26Speaker 1: team's longstapper for the first four games of the season
- 17:29Speaker 1: and will presumably return Sunday when the Eagles host the Raiders.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I saw Charlie in the locker room towards the latter
- 17:35Speaker 1: stages of our availability. Didn't get a chance to talk
- 17:38Speaker 1: to him, but I will try to either Thursday or Friday.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And finally, another rookie offensive lineman is shelved. So back
- 17:47Speaker 1: on November nineteenth, the Eagles opened the practice window for
- 17:49Speaker 1: rookie tackle Miles Hinton, who had a back injury, opening
- 17:53Speaker 1: up the potential for him to be bumped to the
- 17:55Speaker 1: fifty three man roster, but the practice window happened to
- 17:58Speaker 1: coincide with the foot injury to write tackle Lane Johnson.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But like guard center Willy Lampkin, who's twenty one day
- 18:04Speaker 1: window opened and closed earlier in November, I think it
- 18:07Speaker 1: was on Thanksgiving, Hinton's window expired Wednesday, will revert to
- 18:12Speaker 1: injury reserve for the remainder of the season, so the
- 18:15Speaker 1: next time we see him will be really in OTAs
- 18:19Speaker 1: and training camp.
- 18:20Speaker 2: But at least he got to practice for a few weeks.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Same thing with Willy Lampkin, that he has got to
- 18:24Speaker 1: see him on the practice field. So there's the update there,
- 18:26Speaker 1: because I'm sure some may have been curious as to
