- 1:42Speaker 2: morning show if you're just tuning in for the first
- 1:44Speaker 2: time and you don't know anything about me i understand
- 1:47Speaker 2: that i i guess i'm the official fill-in host i
- 1:49Speaker 2: think i've been filling in for wayne for the last
- 1:51Speaker 2: six or seven years every time wayne's been off I've
- 1:55Speaker 2: been sitting in this seat. So I do a show
- 1:57Speaker 2: from Connecticut every single day. And I do fill in
- 2:01Speaker 2: for a couple other national hosts, which is always a
- 2:03Speaker 2: lot of fun. Wayne's show is always the most fun
- 2:06Speaker 2: as I think we're reaching just so many great people
- 2:08Speaker 2: across the country. But it's interesting. Today I had a,
- 2:11Speaker 2: just out of nowhere, I decided to throw out a
- 2:15Speaker 2: topic and it exploded. And the topic was, you know,
- 2:19Speaker 2: something that had to do with what Donald Trump has
- 2:22Speaker 2: done here recently, which was the burning or the outlawing,
- 2:26Speaker 2: if you will, or the executive order outlawing the burning
- 2:29Speaker 2: of the American flag. Now, I stand before you. I'm
- 2:34Speaker 2: not a politician. I'm a defender of the sacred flame
- 2:41Speaker 2: that lights our republic. I am a defender of free speech.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So in a world where governments are Around the globe.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Dissent with an iron fist. Where voices are crushed under
- 2:58Speaker 2: the weight of authoritarian control. America.
- 3:02Speaker 1: America.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I just got finished sending an email to somebody. America
- 3:06Speaker 2: has always held something incredibly unique. Something invincible. The First Amendment.
- 3:20Speaker 2: It's not just words on a parchment. It's the bedrock
- 3:24Speaker 2: of democracy. It's the bedrock of our republic. The most
- 3:27Speaker 2: important element of our society above all else is the
- 3:33Speaker 2: right of free speech. It's the guardian of truth, the
- 3:37Speaker 2: enabler of progress, and the ultimate check on tyranny. Without
- 3:42Speaker 2: free speech, we, ladies and gentlemen, we lose it all.
- 3:46Speaker 2: We lose everything. our ability to challenge power, to expose corruption,
- 3:52Speaker 2: to unite over a common cause, and yes, to express
- 3:57Speaker 2: our deepest disagreements. It's what holds us together. Free speech
- 4:04Speaker 2: is the oxygen of liberty. If you stifle it, the
- 4:08Speaker 2: entire body politic suffocates. And again, just a couple of
- 4:14Speaker 2: days ago, on August 25th, President Trump signed an executive
- 4:18Speaker 2: order directing the Department of Justice to vigorously prosecute those
- 4:23Speaker 2: who desecrate the American flag, specifically by burning it, under
- 4:29Speaker 2: the guise of preventing incitement or other crimes. Again, let
- 4:35Speaker 2: me make sure you understand. I hate the idea of
- 4:40Speaker 2: burning the flag. I think it's reprehensible. I think it's disgusting.
- 4:45Speaker 2: The thought of it makes me want to throw up.
- 4:48Speaker 2: The idea that somebody might kneel during the national anthem,
- 4:51Speaker 2: the same thing makes you want to throw up. But
- 4:56Speaker 2: this order instructs Pam Bondi to pursue cases where flag
- 5:00Speaker 2: burning allegedly violates laws against violence, property damage, disorderly conduct.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It's again, it's a slippery slope. It's a slippery slope.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And Trump himself in the Oval Office said that if
- 5:12Speaker 2: you If you burn the flag, you're going to get
- 5:14Speaker 2: a year in jail. No early access, nothing. So again, please,
- 5:19Speaker 2: if you're just tuning in, I disdain the idea of
- 5:23Speaker 2: burning the flag. It's profoundly disrespectful. It's a spit in
- 5:32Speaker 2: the face of every single patriot who has bled for
- 5:35Speaker 2: this nation. Their blood is on that flag. I mean,
- 5:38Speaker 2: you think about the heroes of Iwo Jima who, Raise
- 5:41Speaker 2: that flag, those Marines. And that's just a historic, amazing
- 5:45Speaker 2: moment in our history. D-Day, same idea, the flags waving.
- 5:50Speaker 2: The brave souls, but they didn't die for a piece
- 5:54Speaker 2: of cloth, although that piece of cloth means something. They
- 5:57Speaker 2: died for the ideals. It represents liberty, justice, and the
- 6:01Speaker 2: right to self-determination. And when someone sets a flag ablaze,
- 6:08Speaker 2: They mock those who sacrifice it. And we all should
- 6:10Speaker 2: be furious. We should be furious about it. We should
- 6:14Speaker 2: feel betrayed, disrespected. It's a desecration of those who have fallen.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I find it gut-wrenching, offensive to the core. It's an
- 6:22Speaker 2: ingratitude and it should boil America's blood. It boils mine.
- 6:28Speaker 2: But I would rather see a thousand flags waving proudly
- 6:34Speaker 2: than one in flames. I think we're all there Yet
- 6:39Speaker 2: the uncomfortable truth is free speech demands that we tolerate
- 6:48Speaker 2: the ones that we despise the most. I've come on
- 6:52Speaker 2: this show again for six, seven years, more than that,
- 6:55Speaker 2: I think now. And it's been the thing that I've
- 6:58Speaker 2: talked about more than anything else. I would rather live
- 7:01Speaker 2: in a country where people have unbridled abilities to burn
- 7:06Speaker 2: flags than And as their right, rather than have a
- 7:10Speaker 2: government decide what is too provocative for somebody to say
- 7:15Speaker 2: or what they can't do. Because I think the alternative is, again,
- 7:20Speaker 2: a very slippery slope. And this executive order is a
- 7:25Speaker 2: dangerous executive order. I'm sorry to say. And I know
- 7:27Speaker 2: Trump listens to this show. I know he does. And
- 7:30Speaker 2: I know you're doing it. I know you're doing it
- 7:32Speaker 2: out of patriotism. And I know it because I feel
- 7:35Speaker 2: the same way. I feel furious when you see somebody
- 7:38Speaker 2: do that. In particular, I feel furious when someone from
- 7:41Speaker 2: another country does it. And that's a little bit different
- 7:46Speaker 2: for me. That's a subtlety within the law that I'd
- 7:48Speaker 2: be willing to swallow hard on because I think those
- 7:51Speaker 2: who are here illegally don't and shouldn't. They do, but
- 7:55Speaker 2: they shouldn't possess the same rights that we do. They
- 7:58Speaker 2: don't possess all the same rights, but I think you
- 8:00Speaker 2: get my point. But You look at the bedrock of
- 8:11Speaker 2: what we are in that free speech. Even Justice Scalia
- 8:15Speaker 2: joined the majority later saying if he were king, he
- 8:19Speaker 2: would not allow people to go around burning the American flag. However,
- 8:24Speaker 2: we're in America. We have a First Amendment. So it's
- 8:28Speaker 2: important that we protect that right of freedom. And that
- 8:34Speaker 2: Tuesday executive order prosecution of the American flag that is burned.
- 8:39Speaker 2: It represents a bold step. I mean, it's, it is,
- 8:41Speaker 2: it's a symbol. It's a symbol for us that has
- 8:43Speaker 2: endured for 250 years. It's the embodiment of American freedom.
- 8:46Speaker 2: It's the identity. It's the strength that we all have.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And again, I'm not saying this is an easy one.
- 8:54Speaker 2: This is not an easy one. I it's amazing to
- 8:56Speaker 2: me because like I said, on the onset of this,
- 8:59Speaker 2: in the discussions that we had today, I would say
- 9:03Speaker 2: of the, if I got a hundred emails from, on
- 9:06Speaker 2: this topic within the first couple hours after the show,
- 9:09Speaker 2: I would say 95 of them were, you shouldn't be
- 9:14Speaker 2: able to burn the flag. And it's not, I don't
- 9:18Speaker 2: think you should. It's not that I don't, I want
- 9:21Speaker 2: you to burn the flag. Of course not. As I
- 9:24Speaker 2: said already, this is a, it's, it's a terrible disrespect
- 9:29Speaker 2: of America. But if you start down that road, what's next?
- 9:37Speaker 2: We all love the police. You're not going to allow
- 9:40Speaker 2: somebody to burn a police flag or a firefighter's flag.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Or what about an army flag or a marine flag
- 9:46Speaker 2: or a Navy flag or a hat or a shirt
- 9:50Speaker 2: that says Navy on it? Where does it stop? I
- 9:54Speaker 2: know it's a symbol of freedom and I know it's
- 9:56Speaker 2: vitally important. And I know Trump and Bondi in this
- 9:59Speaker 2: case have you know, sort of spelled out specifics in
- 10:03Speaker 2: this and are targeting illegals. I get that. But I'm
- 10:10Speaker 2: looking at the broad picture of this. I'm looking at
- 10:12Speaker 2: what it does to us as a nation, freedom-wise, free speech-wise.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I don't think you want to go down this road. Now,
- 10:24Speaker 2: our founding fathers would not have been happy with this.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I don't think there's any question about this. The architects
- 10:30Speaker 2: of American liberty, I mean, they didn't directly look into
- 10:34Speaker 2: this because there were really no reasons to do that
- 10:37Speaker 2: as we really didn't adopt the modern flag until 1777.
- 10:42Speaker 2: It wasn't even fully developed as a national symbol until
- 10:46Speaker 2: the Revolutionary War era. But the point, would they have
- 10:49Speaker 2: been disgusted? Of course they would have been disgusted. But
- 10:53Speaker 2: I think in this case, our fearless leader, I don't, like,
- 10:57Speaker 2: maybe if you're not an American citizen, you can't burn
- 11:01Speaker 2: the flag. I probably could live with that. But I
- 11:04Speaker 2: think when you start heading down the road, that is, well,
- 11:10Speaker 2: might as well say slippery, to say the least. You're
- 11:14Speaker 2: opening up an ugly can of worms. And I know
- 11:18Speaker 2: you're doing it, Mr. President, out of pure patriotism. All right.
- 11:21Speaker 2: My name is Lee Elsey, Voice of Freedom. You can
- 11:23Speaker 2: email me, leelseyradio at gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you.
- 11:26Speaker 2: The Gateway Pundit, where you can find us. Untamed Nation,
- 11:29Speaker 2: where you can find us. Root for America, where you
- 11:31Speaker 2: can find us. All the great radio stations. We'll be
- 11:33Speaker 2: right back. Don't go anywhere. A lot to get to tonight.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Stick around, everybody.
- 11:50Speaker 1: All right, a special treat for you.
- 11:51Speaker 5: I want to introduce you to a real hero of
- 11:54Speaker 5: the American energy industry, a legend, Mark Bruner, founder and
- 11:57Speaker 5: CEO of Lost Soldier Oil and Gas in the United States.
- 12:01Speaker 5: Lost Soldier is the last major BCGA, Basin Centered Gas Accumulation.
- 12:08Speaker 1: This is code for a monster field.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Where gas or oil is in a basin, which makes
- 12:13Speaker 5: the drilling and production much easier. Mark, you're a legend
- 12:17Speaker 5: in the oil industry and the gas industry.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Tell us about your track record.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Well, I'm a second-generation oil and gas guy. My father,
- 12:25Speaker 6: in the early 1950s, started a company called Techstar. It
- 12:28Speaker 6: later became Texas Oil and Gas.
- 12:31Speaker 4: When it sold out to U.S.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Steel, it was the largest independent in the world. Delhi
- 12:35Speaker 6: Pipelines was the largest gas distribution system in the United States.
- 12:39Speaker 6: When it sold out to U.S. Steel, I worked with
- 12:42Speaker 6: him for four years. I've been in the oil and
- 12:43Speaker 6: gas business ever since. You would probably know me better
- 12:47Speaker 6: as the chairman of Ultra Petroleum, and I Ultra had
- 12:52Speaker 6: a pretty good track record, which you're very familiar with,
- 12:55Speaker 6: I think.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Well, I think a $ 10, 000 investor in Ultra turned it
- 12:59Speaker 5: into $ 13 million. Is that correct? In the nine-year run
- 13:03Speaker 5: of your publicly traded company?
- 13:05Speaker 4: Yeah, at the high, that's true.
- 13:07Speaker 1: $ 10, 000 turned into $ 13 million.
- 13:09Speaker 5: That means $ 100, 000 turned into $ 130 million.
- 13:11Speaker 1: That's an incredible track record.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Now tell me why this deal, Lost Soldier, this project
- 13:17Speaker 5: is so I hear about projects and deals all the time.
- 13:21Speaker 1: What makes this one special, Mark?
- 13:24Speaker 6: What's special about this is all the other basins in
- 13:26Speaker 6: the United States have been drilled. We've known for 50
- 13:29Speaker 6: years what they are. This one could not be drilled
- 13:32Speaker 6: because there was a uranium mine out here. Until it
- 13:34Speaker 6: was reclamated three years ago, no one could drill it.
- 13:38Speaker 6: This is surrounded by large oil and gas fields with
- 13:41Speaker 6: billions of dollars of infrastructure that at this point.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Is 85% empty.
- 13:46Speaker 6: So we made this discovery. We are the only operator
- 13:49Speaker 6: in this field. And right now we can see that
- 13:53Speaker 6: we've got enough room for 500 horizontal wells out here
- 13:56Speaker 6: with what we've drilled so far. Very exciting. It's the
- 13:59Speaker 6: new basin in the United States. And as far as
- 14:03Speaker 6: I'm concerned, this is an order of magnitude bigger than
- 14:06Speaker 6: Ultra Petroleum, the one that I did.
- 14:08Speaker 5: All right, the website is lostsoldier.com. Pretty simple stuff, lostsoldier.com.
- 14:15Speaker 5: The project, 40,000 acres, took 40 years to piece together.
- 14:19Speaker 5: It's called Lost Soldier Oil and Gas LLC. That's the company,
- 14:22Speaker 5: that's the project, but the website.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Lost Soldier dot com.
- 14:27Speaker 5: If you're an accredited investor, Mark wants to hear from you.
- 14:29Speaker 5: If you want to hear more information, check it out.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Fill out the form and you get to Lost Soldier.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Mark and his people will get back to you as
- 14:35Speaker 5: CFO and let you know all the details you need
- 14:38Speaker 5: to know.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Lost Soldier dot com. Thanks, Mark, for being with us today.
- 14:43Speaker 6: Thank you, Wayne.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Good to see you again.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Welcome back, everyone. Warzone is the name of the show.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Wayne Allen Root, he's off tonight. He's off until Wednesday
- 15:08Speaker 2: of next week. I think he's getting some sun, so
- 15:10Speaker 2: next time he comes back, he'll have that blistering suntan
- 15:14Speaker 2: looking like a Hollywoodite, I guess. Anyway, this segment is
- 15:17Speaker 2: being brought to you by Energized Health. Now, you heard
- 15:21Speaker 2: Wayne talk about how Energized Health has changed his life.
- 15:24Speaker 2: He lost 25 pounds of fat, including the dangerous inner
- 15:27Speaker 2: body visceral fat. He gained 10 pounds of muscle. and
- 15:30Speaker 2: intercellular hydration. He did it in 88 days. That's less
- 15:34Speaker 2: than three months, guys. Now, over four years later, he
- 15:37Speaker 2: says he feels the best he has in his entire life,
- 15:41Speaker 2: and he gives Energized Health the entire credit for all
- 15:44Speaker 2: of it. It's not a traditional weight loss program. It's
- 15:46Speaker 2: better than that. This program is simple, easy, healthy, all
- 15:50Speaker 2: based on a foundation of the life game changers, extra
- 15:53Speaker 2: and intercellular hydration. Here's your chance to be like Wayne,
- 15:57Speaker 2: Energized Health, Can change your life and supercharge your health
- 16:00Speaker 2: just like it did for my pal Wayne. Right now,
- 16:03Speaker 2: Energized Health is offering the WAR 40% off action discount.
- 16:07Speaker 2: 40% off. Just say WAR. Go to energizedhealth.com. That's energizedhealth.com.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Today.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 16:16Speaker 4: All right.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I talk a lot about crime. I'm going to talk
- 16:18Speaker 2: about crime again. Maybe in a little while. Trump's approval
- 16:21Speaker 2: ratings up five points in the past month. That's a
- 16:24Speaker 2: pretty good deal. So Trump is making some positive inroads
- 16:30Speaker 2: with some folks who maybe weren't all that big fans
- 16:33Speaker 2: of him. Maybe a month ago, two months ago, three
- 16:36Speaker 2: months ago, gas is down. Prices seemingly are down. It
- 16:39Speaker 2: seems like, you know, here's the thing about Trump. It's
- 16:42Speaker 2: like every day there's something else every day. There is
- 16:46Speaker 2: something else that this guy in this administration is doing.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's really remarkable. Things that you don't even think about.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I'm not sure if I talked about this. I mean,
- 16:54Speaker 2: think about a week ago, they were talking about painting
- 16:58Speaker 2: the wall black so that it would make it hotter
- 17:02Speaker 2: for the migrants who are trying to cross illegally, making
- 17:06Speaker 2: it more uncomfortable. Who thinks of that?
- 17:09Speaker 4: Brilliant.
- 17:09Speaker 2: But there's always something going on. behind the wheels, and
- 17:13Speaker 2: they're always trying to figure out a way, I think,
- 17:15Speaker 2: to make America better. Now, a lot of folks don't
- 17:17Speaker 2: agree with that. A lot of folks can't stand the
- 17:20Speaker 2: orange man. A lot of folks can't stand his policies.
- 17:22Speaker 2: A lot of folks can't deal with some of that stuff. But,
- 17:25Speaker 2: you know, I want to play you. I want you
- 17:29Speaker 2: to hear. Let me make sure I have it right
- 17:30Speaker 2: in front of me. I want you to hear. what
- 17:33Speaker 2: the stupidity sounds like, if you don't mind. I hope
- 17:35Speaker 2: you guys can hear this. This is not Germany. That's
- 17:38Speaker 2: the SS and the Gestapo.
- 17:41Speaker 1: This is the United States of America.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Unmask yourselves. That's Congressman Larson here in Connecticut. And so
- 17:49Speaker 2: in Connecticut, there's been some ICE raids and agents going
- 17:53Speaker 2: after some people and they got the masks on so
- 17:56Speaker 2: they can protect their identity and our every single person
- 17:59Speaker 2: in the state of Connecticut's a liberal and every single
- 18:02Speaker 2: person in the state of Connecticut's a Democrat. I'm talking
- 18:04Speaker 2: about the politicians. It's been that way since I think 2006.
- 18:06Speaker 2: So every Congress person, every Senator has since 2006 has
- 18:10Speaker 2: been a Dem and Larson is, he's been around since
- 18:17Speaker 2: there's been dirt, but you know, he's fired up because
- 18:20Speaker 2: the ICE agents don't want to take their masks off
- 18:22Speaker 2: because they don't want people coming to their homes and
- 18:25Speaker 2: and violently attacking them. This is different. They have to
- 18:29Speaker 2: keep the anonymity as best they can because there's violent
- 18:32Speaker 2: people that they're going after. So I just wanted to
- 18:35Speaker 2: play that because I just wasn't sure if you knew
- 18:37Speaker 2: exactly what stupidity sounds like. Here's something interesting that I
- 18:42Speaker 2: wanted to share with you. Rape crimes. That's not a
- 18:46Speaker 2: very fun subject, but rape crimes over in Europe. So
- 18:50Speaker 2: in the year 2000 in England, they reported 8,593 rapes.
- 18:57Speaker 2: In Germany, 8,133 rapes. In France, 7,500 rapes. That was
- 19:03Speaker 2: in year 2000. Now you know about the mass migration
- 19:07Speaker 2: of Muslims to both England, Germany, and France. And in Poland,
- 19:12Speaker 2: Poland has stopped the Muslim invasion. They don't let Muslims in.
- 19:17Speaker 2: In Poland in 2000, there were 2,399 rapes. Now, Pay attention.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Like I said, that was the year 2000. In 2023,
- 19:23Speaker 2: there were 68,000 rapes in England. That's 60,000 more rapes
- 19:26Speaker 2: in the same time frame. In Germany, there were 39,000 rapes.
- 19:30Speaker 2: That's 31,000 more rapes. In France, 42,400 rapes in the
- 19:32Speaker 2: year 2023. And in Poland, rapes went down. I've warned
- 19:34Speaker 2: you guys about this mass migration and the refugiation rapes
- 19:40Speaker 2: in the year 2023 and in poland rapes went down
- 19:46Speaker 2: i've warned you guys about this mass migration and the
- 19:49Speaker 2: refusal to assimilate and the way two cultures collide and
- 19:54Speaker 2: can't and will never ever be able to coexist i
- 19:58Speaker 2: just wanted to share those few topics with you to
- 20:03Speaker 2: get your wheels spinning What we are going to do
- 20:06Speaker 2: next is we are going to tackle economics.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Economics with my good pal Hans Despain from the University, well,
- 20:14Speaker 2: UMass Amherst. He's a brilliant economist. He's a teacher, a professor,
- 20:20Speaker 2: and all that great stuff. We've chatted with him before
- 20:22Speaker 2: in the past, so we're going to do it again
- 20:24Speaker 2: the next half hour. We'll talk about the economics of
- 20:26Speaker 2: Trump and America and the world with my friend Hans Despain.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Stick around for that, everybody.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Hi, it's Wayne Allyn Root for Vertical Research Advisory.
- 20:48Speaker 1: For more than 30 years, Kip Perridge has been a
- 20:49Speaker 1: leader in the.

- 20:54Speaker 5: millions of dollars for great American companies. In 2003, Kip
- 20:58Speaker 5: founded the VRA, his global investment and economic newsletter. His

- 22:05Speaker 2: All right, everybody, welcome back to Warzone. My name is
- 22:07Speaker 2: Lee Elsey filling in for Wayne Allen Root. Please email me,
- 22:10Speaker 2: leelseyradio at gmail.com. Love to hear what you have to
- 22:13Speaker 2: say about some of the things that we talk about.
- 22:15Speaker 2: You can watch what's going on at thegatewaypundit.com, one of
- 22:19Speaker 2: the most heavily trafficked conservative websites in the entire country. Untamednation.com
- 22:24Speaker 2: has us up there as well. Of course, you can
- 22:26Speaker 2: always go to Root's website, rootforamerica.com, and watch and listen
- 22:31Speaker 2: wherever you may be. We are just very excited have
- 22:35Speaker 2: you along for the ride. One of our good friends,
- 22:37Speaker 2: one of my good pals, and a great friend to
- 22:40Speaker 2: my morning show here in Connecticut. I've had him on many, many,
- 22:43Speaker 2: many times here in the last couple of years. He
- 22:45Speaker 2: is an expert in all things economics. He's a professor.
- 22:48Speaker 2: He is a lecturer. He is a writer, all of that,
- 22:52Speaker 2: you know, balled into one. His name is Hans Despain,
- 22:56Speaker 2: and he joins us right now. Hans, how are you tonight?
- 22:58Speaker 2: I appreciate you carving out some time for us.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Hey, Lee, how are you? Nice to see you.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I'm doing good, buddy. Listen, I got to throw a
- 23:07Speaker 2: curveball at you right away, and maybe we'll get ourselves
- 23:09Speaker 2: in trouble. Last time you were on the show to
- 23:13Speaker 2: talk about economics with me, we wound up talking about
- 23:16Speaker 2: faith for about 40 minutes. So I wanted to ask you, though,
- 23:21Speaker 2: I opened the show. I don't know if you were
- 23:23Speaker 2: watching when we opened the show today, but I took
- 23:26Speaker 2: a position. on the burning of the flag, flag burning.
- 23:30Speaker 2: And I wanted to get your opinion on that because, uh,
- 23:33Speaker 2: overwhelmingly the listeners feel one way. And I was just
- 23:36Speaker 2: curious how you felt.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I was unable to tune in, but I was listening
- 23:42Speaker 4: to your morning show when your brother was on. So, uh, no,
- 23:46Speaker 4: I got a preview that, uh, that's what you're going
- 23:49Speaker 4: to lead in tonight with. Um, Look, I would say
- 23:54Speaker 4: I agree with your brother, and I'm sure that there's
- 23:58Speaker 4: lots of listeners, viewers out there that have not, you know,
- 24:01Speaker 4: don't know what your brother's view was. But, you know,
- 24:04Speaker 4: it's a First Amendment right. And, you know, I think
- 24:09Speaker 4: that should be protected. And at the same time, I
- 24:14Speaker 4: think what ends up happening, which was not said, at
- 24:16Speaker 4: least on this morning's show, you can fill me in
- 24:18Speaker 4: on what was said tonight. But you burn a flag,
- 24:24Speaker 4: and that's like putting a swastika on your shirt. It's
- 24:31Speaker 4: not going to go well. So I don't know that
- 24:34Speaker 4: you need a whole lot of laws to outlaw it.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Unless there's a really good case for being in opposition
- 24:47Speaker 4: to something that's going on domestically, Burning of the flag
- 24:51Speaker 4: is always going to be a condemnation of the person
- 24:54Speaker 4: that does that action.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Actually, surprise, surprise, Hans. I agree with that. I mean,
- 25:02Speaker 2: I'm torn by it because I think it's a horrible thing.
- 25:06Speaker 2: to do. I think it, but I think what you
- 25:09Speaker 2: had said is really well articulated and that it actually,
- 25:13Speaker 2: you know, it puts a bullseye and I don't necessarily
- 25:15Speaker 2: mean a bullseye in the bullseye sense, but it puts
- 25:17Speaker 2: a bullseye in somebody's back saying, you're, you're not one
- 25:19Speaker 2: of me. I don't, I don't want to do business
- 25:21Speaker 2: with you. I don't want to be your friend. I
- 25:22Speaker 2: don't want to know you if you're burning something that
- 25:25Speaker 2: I treasure. And I, and I feel like is, is
- 25:28Speaker 2: part of my life and very patriotic.
- 25:30Speaker 4: So I'm, I'm, I'm often opposed to a lot of
- 25:34Speaker 4: economic policy that goes on, right? Whatever that may be. So,
- 25:39Speaker 4: you know, this will be a little bit of a segue.
- 25:43Speaker 4: We can stay on the topic, though. But, you know,
- 25:46Speaker 4: I've been somebody that has believed since the 1990s when
- 25:50Speaker 4: I was in graduate school that we need targeted tariffs.
- 25:55Speaker 4: And so when Trump came in and implemented that, you know,
- 25:59Speaker 4: I supported it. But going back to the 1990s, I,
- 26:03Speaker 4: you know, to be critical of U.S. foreign economic policy
- 26:09Speaker 4: is a perfectly fine position to take. But if I
- 26:14Speaker 4: go and I burn a flag to bring attention to it,
- 26:17Speaker 4: I think I lose the argument. So I, you know,
- 26:21Speaker 4: I think that it should be protected. But having laws,
- 26:27Speaker 4: as you and your brother talked about this morning, as
- 26:29Speaker 4: your brother articulated, right, it's authoritarian. And I don't think
- 26:34Speaker 4: you need it. I don't think you need to take
- 26:36Speaker 4: that step.
- 26:38Speaker 2: You know, it's funny. That's my thought. No, and again,
- 26:43Speaker 2: I agree with that. And it hurts me to agree
- 26:45Speaker 2: with that because anybody can get up, I think, and
- 26:49Speaker 2: yell and scream in this case and say it's not
- 26:52Speaker 2: patriotic and pound your fist on the table and take
- 26:55Speaker 2: that stance and have that position. And I get it, right?
- 26:58Speaker 2: And I actually think that's probably what the president is doing.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I don't think he's doing this out of any malice
- 27:03Speaker 2: or anger. I think, well, anger, yes, but I don't
- 27:05Speaker 2: think he's, I think he's doing it because he thinks
- 27:07Speaker 2: it's not patriotic. And I think he's trying to be
- 27:09Speaker 2: patriotic in this case. I don't think he's trying to
- 27:11Speaker 2: be anything else. But what we have, Hans, that everybody
- 27:14Speaker 2: else around the world doesn't have, is we have this
- 27:17Speaker 2: ability to speak our mind at all times, right? As
- 27:19Speaker 2: long as you're not inciting a riot, et cetera. And
- 27:22Speaker 2: that makes us different than anywhere else. And I think
- 27:24Speaker 2: we have to hold on to that.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Well, look, I'll say of Trump, you know, he has
- 27:31Speaker 4: a very good pulse of where the country is at.
- 27:35Speaker 4: You know, he is quite masterful at it. And I
- 27:40Speaker 4: think he knows that on this issue, 80% of the country,
- 27:45Speaker 4: I think, is going to be on the side that
- 27:48Speaker 4: you shouldn't burn a flag. You know, it's for the
- 27:51Speaker 4: same reasons I say you lose the argument as soon
- 27:54Speaker 4: as you do it, probably 95% of the time Um,
- 27:59Speaker 4: so I, I think that's what Trump's up to with it.
- 28:03Speaker 4: And now whether or not anybody would go to prison, um,
- 28:07Speaker 4: you know, there's all kinds of, uh, doubts that that's
- 28:11Speaker 4: actually what would happen.
- 28:12Speaker 1: All right.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Fair enough.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I just wanted to get your opinion on that. And again,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I'm not necessarily trying to start a fight with anybody
- 28:21Speaker 2: out there because I think Everything that is coming at me,
- 28:24Speaker 2: at least through social media and emails, it's born out of, again, true.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I think these people are true patriots. I just think,
- 28:29Speaker 2: you know, their protection of the flag in this case.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You know, as I said, what if I burned a
- 28:35Speaker 2: shirt with a flag on it or a hat that
- 28:37Speaker 2: was a Navy hat or a hat that was a
- 28:38Speaker 2: Marine hat? Where are we stopping this? At what point
- 28:41Speaker 2: in time do we stop it? Is it just the flag?
- 28:44Speaker 2: Is it just the American flag? What about the police flag?
- 28:46Speaker 2: What about a firefighter flag? What about an honor and
- 28:49Speaker 2: remember flag for our veterans who have fallen? Like, where
- 28:52Speaker 2: are we drawing that line?
- 28:56Speaker 4: Well, that's exactly right. And it's, you know, it just
- 28:59Speaker 4: reveals something very unique about human beings that we have,
- 29:04Speaker 4: you know, symbolic capacities that as far as we know,
- 29:10Speaker 4: animals don't have at all. We can react to, you know,
- 29:14Speaker 4: a flag is just fabric, you know, but it means something.
- 29:20Speaker 2: It does.
- 29:22Speaker 4: That meaning is important, you know.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so I agree with that.
- 29:26Speaker 4: So that's an important thing to take in.
- 29:27Speaker 2: All right, well, I know we're a little bit into this,
- 29:32Speaker 2: and we can shift gears and see what we can
- 29:34Speaker 2: get through. I hope you can stick around with us
- 29:36Speaker 2: as long as you possibly can. Hans Despain is our guest, economic. lecturer. Again,
- 29:41Speaker 2: UMass Amherst is where he is currently at, and they're
- 29:45Speaker 2: lucky to have him. So I know I threw this
- 29:47Speaker 2: at you real quick. The U.S. economy expanded by 3.3%
- 29:51Speaker 2: in the second quarter, a growth that I guess it's
- 29:55Speaker 2: even stronger than they originally thought. What's your thoughts on this?
- 30:02Speaker 4: It's remarkable. Anybody that listens to your morning show knows
- 30:09Speaker 4: that although I thought we needed targeted tariffs, I've been
- 30:13Speaker 4: critical of sort of these universal tariffs that Trump imposed
- 30:17Speaker 4: in April. And by the way, the tariffs really haven't
- 30:20Speaker 4: gone into effect until about the last few weeks. I'm
- 30:28Speaker 4: a little suspicious on what the Trump universal tariffs will
- 30:33Speaker 4: mean for the US economy and the global economy. This
- 30:42Speaker 4: GDP data is absolutely remarkable. It would not have captured
- 30:50Speaker 4: any of the tariffs going into effect, but there is sentiment.
- 30:55Speaker 4: And so people will act on anticipation of the tariffs,
- 30:59Speaker 4: and it doesn't seem to have effect affected the economy
- 31:03Speaker 4: in a negative way. The caveat here, Lee, is very important.
- 31:08Speaker 4: If you scrutinize the data, if you remember your macro
- 31:14Speaker 4: 101 or whatever it was numbered when you took it
- 31:17Speaker 4: in college, consumption spending, investment spending, government spending, and then
- 31:24Speaker 4: imports and exports, international sector. The primary reason that we
- 31:29Speaker 4: saw the GDP numbers go up is because of imports
- 31:34Speaker 4: going down. They're a negative in that equation. So imports
- 31:38Speaker 4: went down, even though the tariffs haven't been in full
- 31:42Speaker 4: effect in that second quarter. And so there hasn't been
- 31:46Speaker 4: any sort of remarkably good news domestically except for their
- 31:50Speaker 4: imports going down. And I will say, Let me be
- 31:55Speaker 4: a little bit more accurate than that. Consumption spending went up.
- 32:00Speaker 4: So this is a little bit strange because consumer sentiment
- 32:04Speaker 4: is very, very low right now. So they're kind of
- 32:07Speaker 4: moving in opposite directions there. So that's good news for
- 32:10Speaker 4: the Trump economy. The consumption spending actually went up. Investment
- 32:14Speaker 4: spending went down significantly. Let me rephrase it. It went down...
- 32:24Speaker 4: in a way that is concerning. And government spending is flat.
- 32:31Speaker 4: So I hope that makes a little bit of sense.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Consumption spending up, import spending down a lot, which is
- 32:36Speaker 4: a negative, so it raises it. Investment spending went down.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Hans Despain is with us. Music is playing, Hans. You
- 32:44Speaker 2: can stick around, I hope, for another segment, at least.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Sure.
- 32:48Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Great.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Hans Despain is with us. He has nothing to sell.
- 32:52Speaker 2: He has no website for you to go to. He's
- 32:54Speaker 2: just Han because he loves America, loves the economy. He
- 32:59Speaker 2: loves talking about all this stuff. And we love having him.
- 33:03Speaker 2: So we appreciate that. By the way, watch on the
- 33:05Speaker 2: Gateway Pundit, UntamedNation.com, RootForAmerica.com as well. All the great radio

- 33:14Speaker 2: and I am on it, and you're on it. Don't leave.
- 33:16Speaker 2: We'll come right back. More with Hans Despain when we return.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Stick around.

- 36:39Speaker 2: All right, here we go. War zone in effect. One
- 36:42Speaker 2: coast to another. Our good pal Hans Despain, economics lecturer
- 36:45Speaker 2: over at UMass Amherst, is with us. And before we
- 36:48Speaker 2: get to the nitty gritty of the finances of some
- 36:51Speaker 2: of this stuff, I want to get your opinion. Should
- 36:53Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey demand a prenup, Hans? You think that's a
- 36:57Speaker 2: good idea?
- 37:00Speaker 3: No, yes.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Holy moly. Yeah, so this is what Lee does to
- 37:05Speaker 4: me on his morning show. He throws me these curveballs,
- 37:08Speaker 4: and I'm a little more comfortable. But, yes, he definitely, definitely.
- 37:14Speaker 4: He should get a prenup that he gets the money
- 37:17Speaker 4: if it doesn't work out well.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. I think he's got to try
- 37:21Speaker 2: to get some of that cash.
- 37:23Speaker 4: All right.
- 37:24Speaker 2: You wanted to hit a few more points with tariffs,
- 37:28Speaker 2: my friend, before we run out of time?
- 37:30Speaker 4: Sure, yeah. Well, look, they are still in development. The
- 37:38Speaker 4: main point that I have made about the tariffs is
- 37:40Speaker 4: the Trump administration, in my interpretation, you can disagree with this,
- 37:45Speaker 4: has been political. It's not entirely clear to me with
- 37:50Speaker 4: what they're up to with it, except for they want
- 37:54Speaker 4: to establish a new institutional order on the global economy.
- 38:01Speaker 4: And I think we have to be open-minded about that.
- 38:05Speaker 4: The longer they're in place, I'm worried that it will
- 38:09Speaker 4: be a negative impact. I think what the Trump administration
- 38:11Speaker 4: needs to keep in mind is whether or not the
- 38:16Speaker 4: disadvantage in the U.S. that put Trump into office are
- 38:21Speaker 4: being benefited by the current action.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Hans Despain is with us.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 38:27Speaker 6: Okay.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I didn't mean to cut you off. Sorry. No, no,
- 38:33Speaker 2: I didn't mean to cut you off. Did you have
- 38:34Speaker 2: anything else to add to the tariffs? Okay. I ran
- 38:38Speaker 2: across this. I just wanted to get your opinion on this.
- 38:40Speaker 2: It's not tariffs, but it had the countries with the
- 38:43Speaker 2: highest wealth per person in 2025. And Switzerland leads in
- 38:48Speaker 2: average with a wealth of $ 687, 000 per person, but ranks
- 38:53Speaker 2: fourth in median wealth, where the United States is second
- 38:56Speaker 2: in average wealth, $ 621K, but only 15th in median wealth. 124,000.
- 39:00Speaker 2: What does that tell you?
- 39:07Speaker 4: Well, it tells you when you differentiate average and median,
- 39:15Speaker 4: what that difference is picking up in the second in
- 39:19Speaker 4: average and then drops to 16th in median. For those
- 39:23Speaker 4: of us that don't know exactly what that means, median
- 39:26Speaker 4: is you look at the people right in the middle
- 39:29Speaker 4: and and half are above that amount, half are below
- 39:33Speaker 4: that amount. So it tells you there's a large degree
- 39:36Speaker 4: of inequality in the United States. And I think all
- 39:41Speaker 4: administrations need to be very mindful. As I talked on
- 39:44Speaker 4: your show on a regular basis, Biden's administration, Kamala Harris
- 39:49Speaker 4: as a candidate, was spectacularly unmindful of that. So they
- 39:55Speaker 4: could not process why Americans thought the economy sucked when
- 40:01Speaker 4: inflation was down, unemployment was very low, GDP was growing.
- 40:07Speaker 4: it was because the majority of Americans weren't participating in that.
- 40:11Speaker 4: So the Trump administration needs to be very mindful of that,
- 40:14Speaker 4: or they're going to pay very similar costs that the
- 40:17Speaker 4: Biden administration rightfully paid.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Okay. I got one more for you before the music
- 40:22Speaker 2: starts playing. I thought this is interesting because we have
- 40:24Speaker 2: talked about this before in the past, but U.S. consumers
- 40:27Speaker 2: with the highest credit scores, Hans, are beginning to fall
- 40:31Speaker 2: behind in debt repayments that, according to a credit scoring
- 40:35Speaker 2: company and 109 percent, I guess, the 109 percent increase
- 40:39Speaker 2: of people not paying their debt. These are the people
- 40:42Speaker 2: with the best credit scores. What does that say to you?
- 40:47Speaker 4: Well, it says a lot. Let me say, I think
- 40:51Speaker 4: Trump is making a mistake and he's going to lose
- 40:53Speaker 4: in the court when he starts trying to fire people
- 40:55Speaker 4: in the Fed, whether it be Lisa Cook or Jerome Powell.
- 40:59Speaker 4: I know that wasn't your comment or question. But the
- 41:03Speaker 4: truth of the matter is, those high interest rates hurt
- 41:08Speaker 4: the regular, typical Americans that aren't millionaires or more. And
- 41:14Speaker 4: so we're going to see the distressed loan repayment spike
- 41:22Speaker 4: going forward. So this is why Trump wants to see
- 41:26Speaker 4: those interest rates come down. I totally understand why the
- 41:30Speaker 4: Fed is resisting that, but that's a really serious battle
- 41:34Speaker 4: that they're having between Treasury or the executive branch in
- 41:39Speaker 4: the Federal Reserve. And I'm agnostic on who's right or wrong.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I'll make some comments, but both are in hot water
- 41:48Speaker 4: right now, in my opinion.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Have you seen the credit cards? that people are running
- 41:52Speaker 2: up the credit card debt, has that come down at all?
- 41:55Speaker 2: I know that was a huge problem under Biden. I
- 41:57Speaker 2: don't know, under Trump, has it gone in the other
- 41:59Speaker 2: direction at all?
- 42:00Speaker 4: All time record high in, yeah, all time record high
- 42:04Speaker 4: in credit card debt during the Biden administration. Interest rates
- 42:10Speaker 4: went from 12% in 2019 under Trump up to more
- 42:15Speaker 4: than double, 25% was the average interest rate when Biden
- 42:19Speaker 4: left office. That was a disaster. That's what's put Americans
- 42:23Speaker 4: in serious financial distress. It's not the only loans, but
- 42:27Speaker 4: the credit card debt is a significant increase. Right.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Hans, you're the best. Unfortunately, I got to go. I'm
- 42:32Speaker 2: out of time, but let's do it again soon. We'll
