Latest / FPL Pod / S8 Ep16: FPL Pod: Best Arsenal players to pick
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: A busy European week, but still an FPL pod packed
- 0:03Speaker 1: with Premier League chat. We debate Arsenal and is Rice
- 0:06Speaker 1: really a better option than Soccer? Plus, we discuss value
- 0:09Speaker 1: in the field, and for once, Jews has already made
- 0:11Speaker 1: his transfers. Welcome back to this week's FPL pod, where
- 0:19Speaker 1: natural order has been restored. Sam joking, but I took
- 0:26Speaker 1: a lot of heat on last week's pods that all
- 0:28Speaker 1: I wanted to do was just have a slightly better
- 0:30Speaker 1: game week. I mean, admissively, Jews had a better game
- 0:33Speaker 1: week than all of us, which seems to be scarily
- 0:35Speaker 1: common at the moment. Yep, but I'm a bit happier
- 0:38Speaker 1: this week.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:39Speaker 1: By the way, everyon Kelly smm's a be san Bonfield,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Sam over to you.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I do know. I had a bit
- 0:45Speaker 3: of a.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Shocker, but that's what happens when you go against the
- 0:48Speaker 4: obvious captain, because you try and do something a bit
- 0:51Speaker 4: different and it doesn't pay off. Like Jewels or I'm
- 0:53Speaker 4: sure have something to say about his captaincy later, I
- 0:56Speaker 4: went for Soccer, who had to massive opportunities, two big chances,
- 1:02Speaker 4: doesn't score either of them, and as soon as he blanked.
- 1:04Speaker 4: I was like, well, that's my game week done. Regardless
- 1:07Speaker 4: of what happens across the rest of the team, it's
- 1:09Speaker 4: done at this point because as soon as you have
- 1:11Speaker 4: the captaincy fail, and then not long into the Manchester
- 1:14Speaker 4: City game on Sunday, of course Harland scores and I'm like, right, well,
- 1:17Speaker 4: that is really going to be a difficult a difficult week.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I also undernad all.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Week about what to do about Rinders and Caido and
- 1:25Speaker 4: which one of them to play, and of course in
- 1:27Speaker 4: the end went for.
- 1:28Speaker 3: The wrong one.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And the PEPs comments before the game, I was thinking, well,
- 1:31Speaker 4: maybe just leave Rinders on the bench and I'll get
- 1:33Speaker 4: Kido's ten points come off of it. But no, that
- 1:36Speaker 4: wasn't to be. Came off for a one point cameo.
- 1:38Speaker 4: So difficult week ended up on fifty seven. It actually
- 1:42Speaker 4: wasn't as terrible as Red Arrow as I feared it
- 1:44Speaker 4: might be. I think on Sunday when Manchester City were playing,
- 1:47Speaker 4: I was like, this is going to be a massive
- 1:48Speaker 4: Red Arrow.
- 1:49Speaker 3: It wasn't that bad. In the end, It's put me.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Off captain in anyone other than Harlan for the rest
- 1:54Speaker 4: of the season, though I'll be honest.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen a fair few people saying that. Actually
- 1:57Speaker 1: that in the form he's in and the goals he's scoring.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But Juels, you you so nearly beat all the Harland captains.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Didn't you?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Fair play?
- 2:05Speaker 1: You did go bold? You said you do. Gabrielle, I
- 2:07Speaker 1: was on the final score with your friend Naden. It
- 2:10Speaker 1: was funny because when he got the assist, I said, now,
- 2:13Speaker 1: Nadan was watching that game, and I said, because I'm
- 2:15Speaker 1: obviously watching four games we had thirty four cup ties,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'm not watching everything. And I said, who was that header?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Who got the assist? And he was like sleep, oh, no, Gabrielle.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And then he just opened my head in my hands.
- 2:24Speaker 1: He's like what And I was like, I think Joe's
- 2:26Speaker 1: captained him. And then we went to the next reporter.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I was like, I just need to check and you did,
- 2:30Speaker 1: and I mean fair play it Like as Sam said,
- 2:34Speaker 1: then it is so bold and so brave to go
- 2:35Speaker 1: against him. But he probably was that what he was.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Wasn't he the second best captain option?
- 2:39Speaker 5: Yeah, and if he doesn't get that yellow car fourth
- 2:44Speaker 5: minute for the home ball, then it's actually better than Harlan.
- 2:49Speaker 5: He would have gone fourteen. Instead, we'd have gone two
- 2:52Speaker 5: more points instead of the.
- 2:54Speaker 4: It would have actually been four more points because he
- 2:56Speaker 4: lost a bonus point on the back of you.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Yes, well completely, so it would have it could have
- 3:01Speaker 5: been much better. The thing I would say, though, as
- 3:04Speaker 5: good as it was, and we explained you know last
- 3:06Speaker 5: week's show that it was, it would have been a
- 3:09Speaker 5: good captain because of how good he is and said,
- 3:11Speaker 5: this is how strong defensively Arson, and there was there
- 3:14Speaker 5: was high probability they would.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Not concede a good against against Burnley.
- 3:19Speaker 5: How stressed I was on somebody, I would really advise
- 3:26Speaker 5: anyone to just not do anybody else but Harland because
- 3:30Speaker 5: as we were saying in our group chat with producing
- 3:32Speaker 5: Jesse and everybody, yeah, Grabria good. I was super happy
- 3:36Speaker 5: with his points tylely and everything as a captain. But
- 3:39Speaker 5: then I was just like, please Harland, don't score more
- 3:42Speaker 5: than two. And then literally Harlan could have had four
- 3:46Speaker 5: in the first time alone. So the levels of stress
- 3:49Speaker 5: was just not worth it. So just people, just captain
- 3:53Speaker 5: halland and your heart will thank you.
- 3:55Speaker 1: A good week over will for you that otherwise Joel's
- 3:57Speaker 1: eighty two points, I got seventy five Sam and she said,
- 3:59Speaker 1: got fifty seven. Jules, you had minto you had you
- 4:03Speaker 1: had a good week again, didn't you have that school show?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Minte with nine good gehe with ten Gabriel who
- 4:10Speaker 5: said twelve times two Matta's called was good. My My
- 4:16Speaker 5: big regret again a bit like last week, was Casido
- 4:18Speaker 5: on the bench and I don't know already as well,
- 4:21Speaker 5: but already I don't I don't think I would have
- 4:23Speaker 5: started Cacido. I thought Semnu against City is bored because
- 4:29Speaker 5: I was not sure how much Bournemouth would do with
- 4:31Speaker 5: the board. Really and Semineo, as we said last week
- 4:35Speaker 5: on last week, sure hasn't been in great.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Form either, and I regret a little.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Bit now I havn't played instead so I would play
- 4:41Speaker 5: cas because now I think between this week and last week,
- 4:44Speaker 5: I've missed out twenty one points from him or something
- 4:48Speaker 5: like that. So you're going to be in the team
- 4:49Speaker 5: this weekend.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think I'm regretting the oh ends I
- 4:52Speaker 1: is worth that extra point nine million or whatever it was.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Clearly at the.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Moment he is not. Okay. Then let's check in with
- 4:59Speaker 1: the top of the FPL Pod Mini League, Barry Roberts's
- 5:02Speaker 1: top Now his team is Barry's Believers, ninety one points
- 5:05Speaker 1: for him, so he moved up seven places. He actually
- 5:08Speaker 1: sold Mickey van Dervem, which was something that Sam discussed
- 5:11Speaker 1: that she was thinking about on the pod last week.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Well but you regretting that bit. Barry though didn't return
- 5:16Speaker 1: last week. What a goal in midweek he got an
- 5:18Speaker 1: additional four points by selling him though he also had
- 5:20Speaker 1: returns from Raya Kukurea, gabrielle Gahee, Pedro Matteta and Harland
- 5:24Speaker 1: Prosper Melusa climb from fifth to second with eighty five points.
- 5:29Speaker 1: They did rinders to Minta and that one certainly paid off.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It's actually so tight at the top of that league.
- 5:33Speaker 1: By the way, it was fifteen points separating the top ten.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So we'll keep you posted on how that goes. X
- 5:39Speaker 1: Y six xpl is your code. Now we're going to
- 5:42Speaker 1: talk about Arsenal in just a moment. They've been in
- 5:44Speaker 1: Champions League action this week and lots of teams have.
- 5:47Speaker 1: In fact, so je was before we come on to
- 5:49Speaker 1: Arsenal and the Premier League. Can you give us your
- 5:51Speaker 1: legendary That's what Sam's put in the script. European Midweek
- 5:57Speaker 1: round up.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Yeah, so let's start with Liverpool because it was the
- 6:00Speaker 5: biggest game really against from Madrid Unfield, second clean sheet
- 6:03Speaker 5: in a row, much better balance. McAllister's scoring that was
- 6:06Speaker 5: really good, so ran the show and they were good
- 6:09Speaker 5: on said pieces even if they only scored one goal.
- 6:11Speaker 5: They were very good on said pieces again. Arsenal very
- 6:14Speaker 5: solid Weslavia Prague. They only considered one shot on target
- 6:18Speaker 5: in the whole nineteen minutes. Two goals for Mickel Marino
- 6:21Speaker 5: who will be the number nine in the coming weeks
- 6:23Speaker 5: because your Keres is interested only against Sunderland on Saturday,
- 6:26Speaker 5: Saka with a penalty and Mac Damond record breaker for
- 6:30Speaker 5: the youngest ever player to play in the Champions League
- 6:33Speaker 5: Spurs and Mickey Messi vonder ven Sam's lover and best
- 6:38Speaker 5: friend and anything you want. Incredible goal obviously Brandon Johnson
- 6:41Speaker 5: despite the red card all the bet PALLINYA pretty good
- 6:43Speaker 5: afternoon against the team that I think I could have.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Played for in Copenhagen.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Chelsea not so good, but drove a Cara bag when
- 6:51Speaker 5: they were not good at to Jared had to had
- 6:53Speaker 5: a nightmare. Good bye, gana show and Stevao a city
- 6:58Speaker 5: just routing win against Dortmund another good for Holland obviously
- 7:02Speaker 5: and two for food On two very nicegorers to keep
- 7:04Speaker 5: in mind before the big lash against Liverpool on Sunday
- 7:07Speaker 5: and then finding a Newcastle.
- 7:09Speaker 2: A proper header by Dan Byrne.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Over all good performance from then Joylington scoring again, but
- 7:15Speaker 5: it's not much from fort Mare if you own him.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Voltemado is proving to be very frustrating, isn't he Okay?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Then let's move on. It was brilliant as always that
- 7:24Speaker 1: round up Jels. Don't worry. There you go, there's a compliment.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Let's talk about Arsenal. As you said, then another big
- 7:29Speaker 1: win in the Champions League in midweek. We've said it
- 7:32Speaker 1: for weeks now. You have to own three Arsenal players
- 7:35Speaker 1: and it feels like the defense is the way to go.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But just wanted to take a look at the ownership
- 7:39Speaker 1: of some of the Arsenal players and discuss who the
- 7:42Speaker 1: best three are because I wonder if maybe we're changing
- 7:44Speaker 1: our mind on some of them. So the most heavily
- 7:46Speaker 1: owned player is Gabrielle, the second most owned player is
- 7:50Speaker 1: David Raya, then this is Timber and then it is soccer,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and then we kind of go down into the teams
- 7:56Speaker 1: in terms of ownership, and it's a little bit more
- 7:58Speaker 1: spread around. Some people have got Califuri, then Rice Eza
- 8:02Speaker 1: they're the most popularis a few people have got Saliba
- 8:04Speaker 1: as well, So yeah, it's kind of spread Oh and
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yokra is actually Yukares is pretty highly owned. I forgot
- 8:09Speaker 1: about him, but it is. I think now, Sam, it's
- 8:12Speaker 1: about getting your three Arsenal players. But it's when you
- 8:15Speaker 1: look at the combinations of Arsenal players that's where if
- 8:18Speaker 1: you're look into climb rank, you almost have to get
- 8:19Speaker 1: the right combo, don't you.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think you know, last season we didn't
- 8:23Speaker 4: see this quite so much. But if you remember the
- 8:25Speaker 4: season before, we spent a long time talking about how
- 8:28Speaker 4: owning one Arsenal defender wasn't enough because if you've picked
- 8:32Speaker 4: Timber as your one arsenal defender or Kalifuri or Saliba,
- 8:36Speaker 4: they don't ever seem to keep up with Gabrielle. So
- 8:39Speaker 4: if you've got Gabrielle, you're starting you know, it's starting
- 8:42Speaker 4: off well each week, but the reality is that everyone's
- 8:44Speaker 4: got one of them. So those six points are kind
- 8:48Speaker 4: of irrelevant unless they do something more than keep a
- 8:50Speaker 4: clean sheet. So you have to kind of double up
- 8:53Speaker 4: on them now because it's the only way to make
- 8:55Speaker 4: them work for you in terms of overall rank game
- 8:57Speaker 4: because you're just not seeing it otherwise. So for me,
- 9:01Speaker 4: the decision to go for the double arsenal defense on
- 9:04Speaker 4: wild card definitely feels like a really good one, And
- 9:08Speaker 4: I think going for two defenders rather than a defender
- 9:12Speaker 4: and the goalkeeper feels better because of the potential ceiling
- 9:15Speaker 4: being higher for the defenders with the upside of defensive
- 9:19Speaker 4: contributions and bonus points that are more likely to come
- 9:21Speaker 4: as a result of them, and also attacking returns, whereas
- 9:24Speaker 4: Raya does really feel like he's getting six every week
- 9:27Speaker 4: because you know, as Joe said, actually you only can
- 9:30Speaker 4: seed one shot on target again in midweek, so there's
- 9:32Speaker 4: not really an opportunity for save points for him. But yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 4: I think it's looking at effective ownership that becomes really
- 9:39Speaker 4: important over the coming weeks and just making sure that
- 9:41Speaker 4: you are putting your team in the best position possible
- 9:44Speaker 4: to gain green arrows, and just one arsenal defender won't
- 9:47Speaker 4: get you a green arrow anymore.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Is three defenders a good.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Strategy, Jewels, I don't like it personally.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Cleaning.
- 9:58Speaker 5: You just imagine if at some point they will consider goal.
- 10:01Speaker 5: It's inevitable. They can't stay like this to the.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Whole to the whole season.
- 10:05Speaker 5: And putting three, like putting all your arsenal eggs in
- 10:09Speaker 5: the same basket, is just when you've got all the
- 10:12Speaker 5: good options.
- 10:13Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 10:13Speaker 5: If really the three as because you have you've got
- 10:16Speaker 5: basically and Kells you mentioned them pretty much all. You've
- 10:19Speaker 5: got nine players to choose from, so three out of nine.
- 10:22Speaker 5: You know, if you want to add all the guys
- 10:24Speaker 5: when he comes back, that would make ten. But for now,
- 10:27Speaker 5: even if you count your caress without your caress now
- 10:29Speaker 5: who's injured, it's actually eight. So three out of very
- 10:32Speaker 5: three out of nine. Let's said that your caress hopefully
- 10:35Speaker 5: is not not out for too long, so you just
- 10:38Speaker 5: have to pick three. And I just think if you
- 10:41Speaker 5: really add only three defenders because they're outstanding players, where Gabriel.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Saliba and Timber, then it'd be easier.
- 10:46Speaker 5: I just think if you can go for a rise
- 10:49Speaker 5: of for Soaka or even for Ez, I think I
- 10:52Speaker 5: think you should more than having Timber Saliba and Gabrielle,
- 10:55Speaker 5: just because at some point.
- 10:56Speaker 2: They will concede and those three players will.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Go from you know, would just get you the two points,
- 11:02Speaker 5: whereas in the same game then they might concede, wi's
- 11:05Speaker 5: my score or give you an assist or something like that,
- 11:07Speaker 5: And I just think, I don't know two already two.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I'm so I'm a bit tech you about two defenders
- 11:12Speaker 5: of the same team in your team, but three, I
- 11:14Speaker 5: think is one too many.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Sam.
- 11:18Speaker 4: I mean, I normally agree with you on this, Like
- 11:19Speaker 4: I don't like the defensive double ups usually because the
- 11:23Speaker 4: clean sheeps upset me when they go. It's really annoying
- 11:25Speaker 4: because you go from like thinking it's going to be
- 11:27Speaker 4: twelve points here at least, and then it's down to
- 11:29Speaker 4: four and that feels really difficult. So I normally would
- 11:32Speaker 4: agree with you, But I think the Arsenal defense is
- 11:34Speaker 4: different because they are so solid, and yes, in the
- 11:36Speaker 4: coming weeks, maybe there's the odd game here or there
- 11:38Speaker 4: where they can seede one, but with the way that
- 11:40Speaker 4: Gabrielle and Timber are playing with defensive contributions with attacking potential,
- 11:44Speaker 4: I think they're unlikely to just get two, even if
- 11:46Speaker 4: they can Seede because of the potential upside that they
- 11:49Speaker 4: both have.
- 11:50Speaker 3: And then I think, you know, you look at the.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Rest of the defenses in the league and they aren't
- 11:56Speaker 4: anywhere near as solid as what Arsenals are. When you
- 12:00Speaker 4: look at the top scoring defenders in the game, and
- 12:04Speaker 4: of the top twelve players in the game for points
- 12:07Speaker 4: at the minutes, seven of them are defenders, eight if
- 12:09Speaker 4: you include the goalkeeper who's in there, and three of
- 12:11Speaker 4: those seven defenders are Arsenal ones. So it tells you
- 12:15Speaker 4: how good the Arsenal defense has been. And you know,
- 12:20Speaker 4: then you compare it with their points per start average.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Gabrielle's averaging eight points per start at the minute, that
- 12:25Speaker 4: is significantly more than any of the midfielders Timbers at
- 12:30Speaker 4: seven point three, Kalafuries at six. The best defend, sorry,
- 12:34Speaker 4: the best midfielder in the game right now is se Meno,
- 12:36Speaker 4: who's averaging seven point five points per start, and actually
- 12:39Speaker 4: that average keeps getting lower and lower every week because
- 12:41Speaker 4: he hasn't returned for a while. After that's Declan Rice
- 12:45Speaker 4: who's at six point nine, and then it's Lerma at
- 12:47Speaker 4: six point five points per match. So when you're thinking
- 12:49Speaker 4: about how to invest these defenders are cheaper than the
- 12:54Speaker 4: midfielders on the most part, and they're more consistent in
- 12:57Speaker 4: terms of their points per start.
- 12:59Speaker 3: So I don't know. Like I have.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Timber and Gabrielle and I'm very happy with them too.
- 13:04Speaker 4: I have soccer as well. I've got some itchy trigger
- 13:08Speaker 4: fingers about him. I might potentially because he's expensive and
- 13:13Speaker 4: there's cheaper options at Arsenal who you.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Know, maybe are better.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Okay, So I'm going to be honest. On Saturday, like
- 13:20Speaker 1: I said, I was on Final Score and we got
- 13:22Speaker 1: Declan Rice live into the program straight after, and I
- 13:27Speaker 1: and my last question to him was, Declan, I've got
- 13:29Speaker 1: Bocuyosaka in my fantasy team. Should I be bringing in
- 13:32Speaker 1: you instead? Because you're about four million cheaper. It's not
- 13:35Speaker 1: quite four million, is it? And he laughed and he said, oh,
- 13:38Speaker 1: the problem is I might stop scoring goals now at
- 13:40Speaker 1: the moment you bring me. And we were all joking,
- 13:43Speaker 1: but I'm not saying that is a transfer to do.
- 13:45Speaker 3: But what is he?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Is he six point six now? Sam? He Declan Rice
- 13:49Speaker 1: is yeah, six point six million.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:52Speaker 1: There is something if you've got a third Arsenal spodules.
- 13:54Speaker 1: There is something to me saying Declan Rice is brilliant
- 13:57Speaker 1: value for money.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I agree.
- 13:58Speaker 5: That's why I've just done you to the movie Declan Rice.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah then copying me, aren't you?
- 14:06Speaker 5: I did it before you even said it. But I
- 14:08Speaker 5: agree with with you. I mean, there's one thing about
- 14:11Speaker 5: Decline Rice. I think he's got He's got sixty three
- 14:13Speaker 5: points already this season, which is incredible. And if you
- 14:16Speaker 5: look at the starts, you've got sixty two points of
- 14:20Speaker 5: a just below three x g n x A combined.
- 14:25Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know where those points have come from,
- 14:27Speaker 5: and I don't want to like go into this habit roles.
- 14:31Speaker 1: He's also getting points for a clean sheep, yeah, yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and gets it collects deaf cone as well, doesn't he
- 14:36Speaker 1: He's got ten.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Well, yeah, but that's incredible the guy. You know, if
- 14:41Speaker 5: you score I don't know already five he's only got.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Two goal is it? Two goals?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Three assists? I think he's got off my head.
- 14:47Speaker 4: He's got six six attacking returns, six death com points,
- 14:50Speaker 4: ten bonus points and pints per much average that promise.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I just think, and then you can redistribute that money,
- 15:00Speaker 5: you know, whenever you want on whoever you want really
- 15:02Speaker 5: to upgrade, maybe your fifth midefielder and get somebody better,
- 15:07Speaker 5: somebody who has great fixtures coming up, or I don't know,
- 15:09Speaker 5: anything like that.
- 15:10Speaker 2: So Socca was a bit disappointed.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Some mentioned the two chances that he missed against Berley,
- 15:15Speaker 5: where I thought at his best, really.
- 15:18Speaker 2: He would have scored them.
- 15:19Speaker 5: He's got two goals and zero assists in eight Promi
- 15:22Speaker 5: League matches so far. This is seven of them starting.
- 15:25Speaker 5: This is not you know, we've used because it's because
- 15:27Speaker 5: he's world class. We used to excellence really from him.
- 15:31Speaker 5: But if you think about it, he's had a bit
- 15:32Speaker 5: of injury at the start of the season.
- 15:34Speaker 2: He's missing all the guard.
- 15:35Speaker 5: The team has evolved a little bit tactically in the
- 15:37Speaker 5: sense that before a lot of the patterns of players
- 15:40Speaker 5: we're going on to that right hand side, timber or
- 15:42Speaker 5: the guard and Socca all of that. Now it's more
- 15:46Speaker 5: of a four to three one than the fourth to
- 15:48Speaker 5: three that we were used to for the last few years,
- 15:50Speaker 5: where you're ten, whether that's or Janieri or you know,
- 15:53Speaker 5: whoever he's been playing.
- 15:54Speaker 2: There is more central.
- 15:56Speaker 5: The ball doesn't go as much or suddenly not as
- 15:58Speaker 5: quickly to succer on the right Haan side. So his
- 16:01Speaker 5: game is a little bit different and that's why maybe
- 16:04Speaker 5: he's not as effective in a way then we used
- 16:08Speaker 5: to in past season. So I thought, let's do it.
- 16:10Speaker 5: I guarantee you. That's like I was going to scratch
- 16:13Speaker 5: obviously and not that can rise. But I just thought
- 16:16Speaker 5: it was too good, too tempting to to not do.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So I did it.
- 16:20Speaker 1: With the way your season's going, Joels, to be honest,
- 16:22Speaker 1: he'll probably get a hat trick. Now it's not soccer,
- 16:25Speaker 1: I mean right, I mean right, I still get a
- 16:27Speaker 1: hat trick because it feels like everything you touch this
- 16:29Speaker 1: season is kind of turning to go Sam your thoughts
- 16:32Speaker 1: on on that move, I.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Thought, yeah, it's something I'm thinking about for sure. I
- 16:37Speaker 4: think that the thing for me is that, and we'll
- 16:39Speaker 4: talk about midfielders later. But the midfielder is like usually
- 16:42Speaker 4: it's that kind of like reassuringly expensive.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Thing, isn't it.
- 16:45Speaker 4: It's like, oh, I'll go Kob Parmer because he's expensive.
- 16:47Speaker 4: I'll go Bruno Fernandez because he's expensive. To guarantee, don't
- 16:51Speaker 4: we like a guarantee point? So if I spend X amount,
- 16:54Speaker 4: of money on a premium player. They are guaranteed to
- 16:57Speaker 4: bring me points. That's that's kind of how it feels
- 17:00Speaker 4: in your head if I go for the cheaper option
- 17:02Speaker 4: or it's a big risk, like whereas actually this season,
- 17:05Speaker 4: you look at the Chelsea team, it's not Cole Palmer, right,
- 17:09Speaker 4: he's injured at the moment, but it's not Cole Palmer
- 17:11Speaker 4: that's performing Manchester United. It's also not Bruno Fernandez, who's
- 17:14Speaker 4: their top scoring player. You look at Arsenal and it's
- 17:17Speaker 4: not Soccer. The exception is is Harlan of course, but
- 17:21Speaker 4: you know he's the exception to.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Every rule right now.
- 17:23Speaker 4: So when you when you consider that over the course
- 17:26Speaker 4: of the season, you can do so much more with
- 17:30Speaker 4: your budget if you are prepared to take some risks.
- 17:33Speaker 4: And what we're seeing from the numbers actually is that
- 17:36Speaker 4: Deck and Rice isn't a risk in comparison to owning Soccer. Yes,
- 17:39Speaker 4: over the you know, the next few weeks, I'll be
- 17:42Speaker 4: very surprised if Soccer doesn't return points for his FBL
- 17:45Speaker 4: managers in the coming weeks. But for the price that
- 17:49Speaker 4: you have to pay, Deck and Rice will probably return
- 17:53Speaker 4: just as many points per million pound that you've spent,
- 17:56Speaker 4: and if that means that you're able to go for
- 17:59Speaker 4: a better and the defense is all important right now, right,
- 18:02Speaker 4: So if you can go from having three cheap options
- 18:06Speaker 4: or most FPR managers the minutes and to have the
- 18:08Speaker 4: double up of four point zero defenders.
- 18:11Speaker 3: So if you can move Goodmunson.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Or Alderat or Rodin up to Muna's because you save
- 18:17Speaker 4: money from soccer to Rice, that's not just then a
- 18:22Speaker 4: conversation about soccer versus Rice. It's a conversation about soccer
- 18:25Speaker 4: and a very cheap defender versus Rice and a very
- 18:29Speaker 4: good defender. And that's the difference. So you kind of
- 18:34Speaker 4: have to try and avoid looking at this in isolation.
- 18:36Speaker 4: It's just it's not just soccer versus Rice. It's the
- 18:39Speaker 4: difference that that extra budget makes across the reci of
- 18:41Speaker 4: your team.
- 18:42Speaker 1: What about your careers then, Jules, because he's been a
- 18:47Speaker 1: frustrating by I think he's owned by still around twenty
- 18:49Speaker 1: percent of the game, he's been frustrating for owners, would
- 18:52Speaker 1: you hold at this point, we.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Don't really know exactly how long you'll be up for.
- 18:59Speaker 5: I think the hope suddenly is that he will miss
- 19:02Speaker 5: the SOUNDLN game. We know that, but then it's in
- 19:05Speaker 5: the international break. He's not gonna go with Sweden, so
- 19:09Speaker 5: potentially coming back after that is obviously the game against
- 19:13Speaker 5: Tottenham and the North London Darby. Then they've got Bayern
- 19:15Speaker 5: Munich in the Champions League two. They will play Chelsea away,
- 19:19Speaker 5: I think as well. So there's big games coming up
- 19:22Speaker 5: and if it can be fit for that and just
- 19:24Speaker 5: missed the Sounderland game, I think you can keep him
- 19:27Speaker 5: because his form as I think he was good thing
- 19:31Speaker 5: in the South of the season, but in terms of
- 19:32Speaker 5: returns to the goal that isqulled obviously Apparie he'd scored
- 19:36Speaker 5: in the Champions League a few a week or so
- 19:40Speaker 5: ten days before that, so it's there and it works
- 19:44Speaker 5: so hard for the team.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I know working hard.
- 19:46Speaker 5: For your team doesn't bring you points in FBL, but
- 19:49Speaker 5: I think he's very important and getting more and more
- 19:52Speaker 5: important for this team, so I would keep him. If
- 19:55Speaker 5: art Attack can confirm at some point that he might
- 19:57Speaker 5: just miss a couple of weeks which means the and
- 20:00Speaker 5: then it's international break anyway, and he will be back
- 20:04Speaker 5: after that, then I think, yeah, I think you should
- 20:06Speaker 5: be a kid.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, then let's move on to midfielders, because we've
- 20:10Speaker 1: already had part of this conversation, I think when discussing
- 20:13Speaker 1: whether we should move Saker to Rice, but the midfielders
- 20:17Speaker 1: in general. I sent a couple of text to a
- 20:18Speaker 1: couple of friends at the weekend somewhere I just said,
- 20:20Speaker 1: midfielders are really starting to annoy me.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Now, yeah, that's so fushy.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I look at my five every week and I go,
- 20:27Speaker 4: you should do really well, and then I come out
- 20:29Speaker 4: of it and they've got one point here, two points there.
- 20:32Speaker 1: If they're like three points, I'm excited, which all.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Do you know what Kell's Actually It reminds me because
- 20:38Speaker 4: Lee played Josh King this week and at the end
- 20:40Speaker 4: of the game he.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Went, oh, he's only got three.
- 20:42Speaker 4: And I was like, I'll guarantee you that at the
- 20:44Speaker 4: end of this game week you won't be saying, oh,
- 20:46Speaker 4: he's only got three.
- 20:47Speaker 3: He'll be pleased about the three.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Roll forward the end of the week and he came
- 20:51Speaker 4: over to me and he went, you were so right,
- 20:53Speaker 4: I'm so pleased with the three. I was like, you see,
- 20:55Speaker 4: I told you that there's something about the midfielders this year.
- 20:58Speaker 4: They just aren't setting the world on fire, particularly the
- 21:02Speaker 4: expensive ones. The cheap ones they look great because they
- 21:06Speaker 4: getting the defensive contribution points, and then you've got players
- 21:10Speaker 4: like Kaisedo who just will not stop getting attack in returns.
- 21:13Speaker 4: So those cheap options lovely, but the expensive ones they
- 21:18Speaker 4: just feel like a real source of disappointment. And even
- 21:20Speaker 4: the ones that at the beginning of this season that
- 21:22Speaker 4: we were kind of guaranteeing points out of, like Semeno,
- 21:27Speaker 4: since creepy Junia has been playing alongside him and being selfish,
- 21:31Speaker 4: which is what we all like in FPL right, selfish players.
- 21:33Speaker 4: So creepy Gina has been great, but Semenos numbers just
- 21:37Speaker 4: have just died, and yeah, it's really frustrating.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah some stats for you. Then, of the top fifteen
- 21:43Speaker 1: players in the game, only four of them are midfielders,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and even more interestingly, they are Semeno, Rice Kaido, and Bomono.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I know that Semnu is up to eight point one million,
- 21:53Speaker 1: but he started the season at seven million, which is
- 21:55Speaker 1: a crazy price rise. So three of the four mids
- 21:58Speaker 1: in the top fifteen points scots or started the season
- 22:01Speaker 1: priced under seven million or seven million. Even in Buomo
- 22:05Speaker 1: was eight million, So none of these are premium players.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So Jules, is that obviously you've already done it. You've
- 22:10Speaker 1: gone from a premium to a kind of mid mid
- 22:12Speaker 1: price cheaper midfielder this week. Is that the way we
- 22:15Speaker 1: should be doing shifting all our money around, because I
- 22:17Speaker 1: guess we do now need the Harland and maybe the
- 22:20Speaker 1: more expensive defenders.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I agree completely.
- 22:23Speaker 5: I mean, if you look at the top nine midfielders
- 22:25Speaker 5: so far in the game, five of them are defensive midfielders,
- 22:29Speaker 5: and this case he Theo, Rice gravenbers Check and even
- 22:33Speaker 5: even Joe Pallina, So you know, at some point, I
- 22:37Speaker 5: think def cons has changed, certainly the narrative and the
- 22:41Speaker 5: dynamic completely, and we've said that pretty much through the season.
- 22:44Speaker 5: But it's true, combined with the fact that your superstar
- 22:48Speaker 5: midfielders you just explained I not performing like they should,
- 22:53Speaker 5: whether it's Saka or Bruno Fernandez and Corparma is injured,
- 22:56Speaker 5: but all those kind of guys that usually guarantee you
- 22:58Speaker 5: points because not just the expensive but also they are
- 23:01Speaker 5: the best players in their position in the league, really
- 23:04Speaker 5: some of them even in the world. That's that's why
- 23:07Speaker 5: you have to be a bit smarter maybe or just
- 23:10Speaker 5: go with your feeling. Just don't think about the price
- 23:14Speaker 5: or the pedigree or the name of the guy.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Maybe go more with.
- 23:17Speaker 5: The fixtures too, And I know, I know we often
- 23:20Speaker 5: say look at the starts, but also look at the
- 23:22Speaker 5: fixture very important.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Even if the.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Premier League I think this season is maybe a bit
- 23:26Speaker 5: more unpredictable than past seasons.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It's still it's still you know, your guy.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Has more chances against the wicked team to do well
- 23:35Speaker 5: than against much the City House or Liverpool obviously, so
- 23:38Speaker 5: all of that has to come in consideration. And there
- 23:40Speaker 5: are other good options that a A. The superstars, your
- 23:43Speaker 5: NDI for example, and players like that.
- 23:46Speaker 2: But the best right now your defensive midfielders.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah. And even when you look at that first page
- 23:52Speaker 1: of that top scoring midfielders, if you go on the
- 23:54Speaker 1: Fantasy Premier League website, with the exception of Salah, he's tied.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Faith everyone is priced between five point one and eight
- 24:01Speaker 1: point four million. The average price if you remove Sala
- 24:03Speaker 1: for those fourteen midfielders is six point four million. By
- 24:06Speaker 1: the way, Sam has done this mass and these status
- 24:08Speaker 1: these are incredible. It kind of just is backing up
- 24:10Speaker 1: everything that we're saying. And I just think we're all
- 24:14Speaker 1: kind of blinded sam by what we've done in the past,
- 24:17Speaker 1: And it's.
- 24:17Speaker 4: So hard not to be kels because in the past
- 24:20Speaker 4: we would do all of these things and we behave
- 24:21Speaker 4: in a certain way. And so when you then start
- 24:24Speaker 4: looking at your team, and particularly because there's been a
- 24:26Speaker 4: load of cheap options this year, you have a bit
- 24:29Speaker 4: more budget that you can spend around, So it feels
- 24:32Speaker 4: really hard to act in a different way. But we're
- 24:35Speaker 4: seeing we should be acting in a different way across
- 24:36Speaker 4: the pitch this year because we've got the difference with
- 24:39Speaker 4: the defenders that we should be going to and the
- 24:41Speaker 4: ones that we invest in, the center backs rather than
- 24:44Speaker 4: the wing backs for example, or the fallbacks. So you know,
- 24:48Speaker 4: I think in FBI generally this year we have to
- 24:50Speaker 4: behave slightly differently and it feels counterintuitive. Like a few
- 24:54Speaker 4: weeks ago when I bought in Cado, everyone was like,
- 24:57Speaker 4: you're mad, why are you bringing in Casado? Spend a
- 24:59Speaker 4: bit more money, getting so, spend a bit more money,
- 25:00Speaker 4: get netto, spend a bit more money, get like and
- 25:02Speaker 4: it was all of these because you have the money
- 25:04Speaker 4: to do it, and it just felt like I said,
- 25:06Speaker 4: there was a good option. So yeah, I do think
- 25:08Speaker 4: we have to learn a lesson that is maybe at
- 25:11Speaker 4: the moment and it just means it will always be
- 25:13Speaker 4: this way, but right now I think we do have
- 25:14Speaker 4: to behave slightly differently and change the way that we
- 25:17Speaker 4: think about our investments.
- 25:18Speaker 5: And you know, the good thing as well is that
- 25:20Speaker 5: in past season maybe not so much so earliness, but
- 25:23Speaker 5: later on we all have pretty much the same midfielders
- 25:27Speaker 5: because you you know, the ones that we're scoring and
- 25:30Speaker 5: et cetera, et cetera. Now it's very different because you
- 25:33Speaker 5: need to go for the ones you feel like going
- 25:36Speaker 5: to get you the most spots. Maybe not the big stars,
- 25:39Speaker 5: not the big names. Look at all the different options
- 25:42Speaker 5: that you have. The prices are very interesting because, as
- 25:45Speaker 5: we've been saying, you can then redistribute the money for
- 25:47Speaker 5: another position somebody else, and that's really good compared to
- 25:52Speaker 5: in the end having the similar profiles or similar name.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Who are the best midfielders in the game then at
- 25:58Speaker 1: the moments and what would the premium we probably anti
- 26:01Speaker 1: premium midfield b like as in the best midfielders.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Rice probably Rice and Kaisdo will be the first two
- 26:08Speaker 4: that And how weird is it that they're the first
- 26:10Speaker 4: two names that I've pulled by the way, and Bombo
- 26:12Speaker 4: probably is in that in that conversation.
- 26:16Speaker 3: So menu is an interesting one because yeah, what are
- 26:19Speaker 3: we doing about him now?
- 26:21Speaker 4: So every week I say I think I might sell him,
- 26:25Speaker 4: and then he blanks again and I go, oh, I
- 26:26Speaker 4: should have sold him.
- 26:28Speaker 3: But then Evan.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Nilsen came back on during this game, and I do
- 26:31Speaker 4: think whenever Nilsen comes back it will make some meno bess.
- 26:35Speaker 3: So I think I'm going to hold him for a
- 26:37Speaker 3: little bit longer.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Plus again, his ownership is heavy and he's not expensive,
- 26:41Speaker 4: so it's not like it's not like holding a cold
- 26:44Speaker 4: palmer all those seasons ago when it was like taking
- 26:46Speaker 4: up all that budget in your team. So I think
- 26:49Speaker 4: I would still keep him. And then it's just a
- 26:52Speaker 4: kind of straight choice really between who you fancy as
- 26:54Speaker 4: a bit of a punt over the coming weeks, depending
- 26:57Speaker 4: upon what's happening where then die. He's been looking really
- 27:00Speaker 4: as an option Liverpool. I keep looking at Liverpool. The
- 27:04Speaker 4: fixtures from game week twelve are absolutely delightful for Liverpool.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Salah's returned in the last two but I'm still not
- 27:12Speaker 4: feeling hugely impressed by him. But then you've got graven Birch,
- 27:16Speaker 4: you've got some bos Lie cheaper options, You've got gag Po.
- 27:21Speaker 4: So I think I would be inclined to go for
- 27:23Speaker 4: one of those as the as a Liverpool midfielder as well.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Joe's what are you thinking about midfielders?
- 27:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, I agree with some. I think NDI
- 27:32Speaker 5: is tempting, one because I think he's very good, and
- 27:38Speaker 5: two because I think it looks like everything I've balanced
- 27:40Speaker 5: a little bit on.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Where the body's going.
- 27:42Speaker 5: It used to be to grill He used to go
- 27:44Speaker 5: to Grillish very quickly, straight away every ball for Gritish
- 27:47Speaker 5: on that left hand side. And and nice a bit
- 27:51Speaker 5: more shared with nj I too. The goalie scored against
- 27:53Speaker 5: Suanderland was beautiful too. But then he's going to go
- 27:56Speaker 5: to Afghan as well, and that will arrive very quickly.
- 27:59Speaker 5: By the way, in a month time they're gone.
- 28:03Speaker 3: But we will get our five transfers.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah we will.
- 28:05Speaker 5: But still so you can have him for now. But
- 28:07Speaker 5: if you're trying to plan, or if you like the
- 28:09Speaker 5: Everton fixtures.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Also you have Tom Jeles.
- 28:12Speaker 1: If you want him, you have to be so sure
- 28:13Speaker 1: that he's going to be worth the return in the
- 28:15Speaker 1: next few weeks because he's a transfer that you're going
- 28:17Speaker 1: to have to make, isn't it. So it's like you
- 28:18Speaker 1: have to really want him almost I.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Think, yeah, no, I agree, and and then again I
- 28:23Speaker 5: think play the fixtures play like look at the Chelsea field.
- 28:26Speaker 5: The next two for Chelsea. Okay you can't, you don't know,
- 28:30Speaker 5: but really should be a banker. So go if you
- 28:34Speaker 5: want for gad show for ends of a loving it.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Should be a banker. Will it something like that?
- 28:41Speaker 5: I know, I know, get get maybe one of the
- 28:44Speaker 5: Chelsea wingers or attacking players for the next two and
- 28:48Speaker 5: then move them on to a Liverpool one because like
- 28:50Speaker 5: some said, pictures are great or even form because you
- 28:54Speaker 5: have to have Spurs this weekend and anyone goes to
- 28:56Speaker 5: Spurs and win.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Really, let's be honest.
- 28:58Speaker 3: We know now wow, shots fired.
- 29:01Speaker 5: But but after that the fixtures are better. Are good
- 29:06Speaker 5: as well for United so but maybe for the midfielders.
- 29:11Speaker 5: There's a there's a good idea.
- 29:12Speaker 2: To play the fixtures more than anything else.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Right now, it depends what kind of manage you, well,
- 29:16Speaker 1: doesn't it in terms of praying the fixtures, But it
- 29:18Speaker 1: raises a valid point. Sam doesn't it absolutely, because I
- 29:20Speaker 1: think you know, and the fixtures it's a weird one
- 29:23Speaker 1: this season because actually anyone can be anyone.
- 29:25Speaker 4: That's why the league is so up and down like
- 29:27Speaker 4: it is. That's why we're seeing Sundon so high up
- 29:30Speaker 4: in the table. It's why it doesn't necessarily shock us
- 29:33Speaker 4: when Forrests suddenly come back and draw against United at
- 29:36Speaker 4: the weekend. So the fixtures, as you know, the fixtures
- 29:40Speaker 4: are the thing that I like to look at the most.
- 29:43Speaker 4: I love to look at the runs of fixtures and
- 29:45Speaker 4: between now and a game week nineteen and game week
- 29:48Speaker 4: nineteen is always the end point for me because of
- 29:50Speaker 4: the changes for the second set of chips and all
- 29:52Speaker 4: of that. So I'm really focused in on that period
- 29:54Speaker 4: of time. United a top of the ticker when you
- 29:56Speaker 4: sort it by difficulty, so you have to consider them
- 29:58Speaker 4: and you have to look at their assets. Liverpool was
- 30:01Speaker 4: second despite a difficult start to the season in terms
- 30:04Speaker 4: of performances and results. In the last few weeks they're
- 30:07Speaker 4: up there and after the Manchester City game, you know, Forest,
- 30:10Speaker 4: west Ham, Sundon and Leeds brightened like they are a
- 30:13Speaker 4: delightful set of fixtures and I think you have to
- 30:15Speaker 4: be their palace are in there as well. We didn't
- 30:17Speaker 4: mention Ishmelas are properly yeah either, like everyone moved from
- 30:22Speaker 4: jil Pedro to Matteta and that kind of wiped its
- 30:24Speaker 4: face last week. But Ishmaelasa definitely feels like a player
- 30:28Speaker 4: that we shouldn't sleep on. And I know you went
- 30:29Speaker 4: there on your World cardcales and I know that are
- 30:31Speaker 4: still I know, and I know it's a little disappointing
- 30:35Speaker 4: so far, but I genuinely think that in the next
- 30:38Speaker 4: few weeks, with the fixtures that they have, the points
- 30:41Speaker 4: should absolutely roll in for you with him. So, yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 4: the fixtures are really important and I definitely think it's
- 30:49Speaker 4: something you should consider when you're you're buying. But I
- 30:51Speaker 4: also don't think that we should let afkon rule our
- 30:54Speaker 4: heads because sometimes the thought of not the thought of
- 30:57Speaker 4: having a player that's going to leave in three four
- 30:59Speaker 4: five six weeks means you don't invest and then you
- 31:01Speaker 4: miss out on three four, five six weeks of potentially
- 31:04Speaker 4: huge points returns. So just have a plan for them
- 31:07Speaker 4: if you are going to go for an f com player,
- 31:09Speaker 4: because you will get those transfers as long as you
- 31:11Speaker 4: use your time and your transfers wise it over the
- 31:13Speaker 4: coming week. So yeah, for me, fixtures are all important.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I brought in granwit Zacha on my wild card. I
- 31:19Speaker 1: benched him last week because I'm so lily and I'm
- 31:23Speaker 1: silly because he was at home. But five point one million.
- 31:27Speaker 1: If we're going to talk about value for money, that
- 31:29Speaker 1: is it isn't it jells. If you haven't got much money,
- 31:32Speaker 1: you should be bringing him in as a as a
- 31:33Speaker 1: fifth midfielder that you can actually play.
- 31:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and he's on set pieces, has a great shot.
- 31:40Speaker 5: We know that he's a leader. He could get deaf
- 31:43Speaker 5: cons as well, and so they're doing great. I wish
- 31:47Speaker 5: you could get points in FBL for your leadership because
- 31:50Speaker 5: he would get.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Maximum points every weekend because he he ran.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I love some of the manager, but check out runs
- 31:57Speaker 5: these dressing women run this team in an incredible way.
- 32:00Speaker 5: One of the smartest signings I've seen in a very
- 32:02Speaker 5: long time from a Premier league club.
- 32:04Speaker 2: So I can really agree with you, Kaz to be fair.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Anything to add or do you not want to add?
- 32:09Speaker 1: Because you know I brot him in on my worldcord.
- 32:12Speaker 4: No, And I think the thing is Cal's like we've
- 32:15Speaker 4: been speaking a lot over recent weeks about owning or
- 32:19Speaker 4: playing four defenders, and there is even a conversation around
- 32:22Speaker 4: playing five defenders at the minute. So having a player
- 32:25Speaker 4: like Shaka is perfect for that because the fixers aren't
- 32:29Speaker 4: kind like they're not kind over the next few weeks.
- 32:32Speaker 4: But that doesn't necessarily matter because it's going to be
- 32:34Speaker 4: on your bench most weeks, and in the weeks when
- 32:36Speaker 4: you do need him or you want to play him,
- 32:38Speaker 4: you can. But he is the perfect He's the perfect
- 32:42Speaker 4: foil for going big at the back in terms of
- 32:44Speaker 4: playing the four defenders because you're not wasting money on
- 32:48Speaker 4: your midfield that you don't have to do. So I
- 32:50Speaker 4: think he's very sensible.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Also, I've still got my bench boost too, so that
- 32:53Speaker 1: was part of the thinking of bringing him in because
- 32:55Speaker 1: I was like, and it is very easy to say,
- 32:57Speaker 1: because two of the four players on my bench word Bournemouth.
- 33:00Speaker 1: But last week I did. If Bournemuth hadn't got Man
- 33:02Speaker 1: City last week, I would have played my bench boost.
- 33:04Speaker 3: But I just I'm not going to play it.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Well, it was going to be last week and then
- 33:08Speaker 1: I bottled it. But I don't know. I need to,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I need I need to rethink about it. I quite
- 33:12Speaker 1: like my team at the moment, though I'm saving my
- 33:14Speaker 1: transfers at the moment because I don't really It goes
- 33:17Speaker 1: back to the whole world Calchare. I had a first
- 33:18Speaker 1: week disappointing. Last week was better. I'm holding my transfers
- 33:21Speaker 1: at the moment because I might bolster my bench a
- 33:23Speaker 1: little bit. And then Semnio is a bit of a
- 33:25Speaker 1: problem at the moment in the in the midfield every
- 33:28Speaker 1: week I'm not looking at it. I'm like, I don't
- 33:29Speaker 1: I don't love my midfielders. If my midfielders were returning
- 33:32Speaker 1: a bit more so, yeah, I don't know. Come back
- 33:34Speaker 1: to me next week on that one. Because i haven't
- 33:35Speaker 1: got an answer to you right now. I'll ask you
- 33:37Speaker 1: again next week. Just keep asking me into one week.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I'll go this week.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Yeah, just before we move on, I saw, as I've
- 33:43Speaker 5: just said, I did Rice for Suka. I think I'm
- 33:47Speaker 5: going to bring Netal for Josh King because to go
- 33:50Speaker 5: back to my son's points about the money exactly now,
- 33:53Speaker 5: I had Josh King and I was very happy. He's
- 33:54Speaker 5: a lovely, tidy, super talented, promising kid.
- 33:58Speaker 2: But it doesn't bring me anything.
- 34:00Speaker 5: I mean I know it was three points this weekend,
- 34:02Speaker 5: which is more than some menu for example, but still
- 34:05Speaker 5: and now I can do that and Netto for the
- 34:07Speaker 5: next two games. And Chelsea and Nettle didn't play midweek
- 34:10Speaker 5: at Cowaby because Mariska changed everybody again and played the
- 34:14Speaker 5: beat team until he was too one down and then
- 34:17Speaker 5: had to had to bring on the big guns. But
- 34:19Speaker 5: Netto had a nice rest and then he can be
- 34:22Speaker 5: ready for Wars at home some Bridge at the weekend,
- 34:26Speaker 5: so Neto for that, and then in two game weeks
- 34:30Speaker 5: when Chelsea's fixtures start to get tougher, then I moved
- 34:33Speaker 5: Netto to Liverpool or United Midfield.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Smart we normally at the end of the pod, but
- 34:39Speaker 1: there we are moving on. I will go We're going
- 34:41Speaker 1: to work backwards here and go back to differentialw of
- 34:43Speaker 1: the week from transfers. Last week, while it was disaster
- 34:46Speaker 1: once again, it didn't even play. So somehow it was
- 34:52Speaker 1: by default you won because you went with this store.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And at least he got two points, I.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Mean trip he got in a city in the Champions League.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Some does that count for you in your spreadsheets?
- 35:02Speaker 4: It was so annoying, is that I s when I
- 35:04Speaker 4: saw him like in the Champions League. I was like,
- 35:06Speaker 4: you're joking me that you've you've picked up your assists here.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Absolutely the biggest trolling ever by Newcastle.
- 35:13Speaker 3: That was Yeah, that was very annoyed. But never mind
- 35:16Speaker 3: gone Joe was he get.
- 35:16Speaker 1: To go first?
- 35:17Speaker 2: So I go with Petron Netto.
- 35:18Speaker 5: I know I talked about him already, owing by six
- 35:22Speaker 5: percent of the managers he would have got to seven
- 35:24Speaker 5: point one million, so again.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Not too bad for a midfielder. Wolves at home.
- 35:31Speaker 5: He should have returned really against Spurs. I mean, sorry,
- 35:35Speaker 5: Sam Chessea should have scored five goals easily.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I'm not arguing with you last weekends.
- 35:41Speaker 5: But he did really well against Sunderland Forest in the
- 35:43Speaker 5: two previous games.
- 35:44Speaker 2: He's on top form.
- 35:45Speaker 5: The fact that Mareska doesn't even want to play him
- 35:48Speaker 5: in the Champions League in midwek because he wants to
- 35:50Speaker 5: keep him fresh for the weekend. I think he's also
- 35:52Speaker 5: a good omen in a way because there's a lot
- 35:55Speaker 5: of competition for wing this positions. That Vo did well
- 35:58Speaker 5: in the Champions League with his goal overall, but that
- 36:01Speaker 5: position on the Rahan side is for Neto and yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 5: I think he's he's.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Been very good this season so far So Neta fo.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes a lot of sense, Sam.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I really wanted to pick Jared Boone this week given
- 36:13Speaker 4: to the Bernie defensive records. But but George Bowl of
- 36:18Speaker 4: how many times you can pick, well, we do. We're
- 36:20Speaker 4: not allowed to pick him more than one, So I
- 36:22Speaker 4: have yes, and Jors and I have both picked Jared
- 36:25Speaker 4: Bone because apparently we both love him. So I'm not
- 36:28Speaker 4: going there. Instead, I am going for Morgan Gibbs White.
- 36:31Speaker 4: He's going to cost you seven point three million, He's
- 36:33Speaker 4: only owned by three percent of the game. We're starting
- 36:35Speaker 4: to see some green shoots of recovery at Forest now
- 36:37Speaker 4: winning nicking cheet in European DICE's first game. Fought back
- 36:41Speaker 4: from one nil down last weekend against United secure draw.
- 36:45Speaker 4: They faced the Leeds side, who have conceded twelve goals
- 36:47Speaker 4: on the road this season. Only Bernie have conceded more
- 36:50Speaker 4: goals than they have away from home with fifteen. Gibbs
- 36:53Speaker 4: White is tied first for attacking returns at Forest this season,
- 36:56Speaker 4: or it's only with two, but nonetheless he is, you know,
- 36:59Speaker 4: one of their most attacking assets. He's created eleven chances
- 37:02Speaker 4: for his teammates and he's had six shots from set
- 37:05Speaker 4: pieces and that's the second best in the forest team.
- 37:07Speaker 4: So I'm going to go for Gibbs why and see
- 37:11Speaker 4: how forests get on. But I think we're starting to
- 37:13Speaker 4: see a better forest side and one that we should
- 37:17Speaker 4: start to just keep on our radar again.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Okay, moving on to transfers, Sam, You're going to have
- 37:22Speaker 1: to fill this section because Jewel has already done it.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Just planning and vision, you know, So I'm just.
- 37:30Speaker 1: You never before report. So it's quite weird.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I got organized this week.
- 37:37Speaker 3: It's unusual for you.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I actually.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I don't know what I'm going to do this week.
- 37:42Speaker 4: So part of me is thinking about moving Sokker to
- 37:46Speaker 4: Rice to free up some money, because that money would
- 37:49Speaker 4: then allow me to move I'm going to say something
- 37:52Speaker 4: I never thought i'd say, to move Mickey van Devan
- 37:55Speaker 4: to a Yeah, I know, I know, even after last week.
- 38:02Speaker 3: It's difficult, isn't it.
- 38:04Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm thinking about that because it would allow
- 38:06Speaker 4: me to move the Palace defense. I need to have
- 38:09Speaker 4: an investment there because it's hurting me every single week
- 38:12Speaker 4: and I can just go Mickey van deven straight across
- 38:15Speaker 4: to Richard's and that doesn't make sense I've got you
- 38:18Speaker 4: know that financially as well as you know, just as
- 38:21Speaker 4: a straight transfer, and it means I don't have to
- 38:23Speaker 4: sell soccer. But I would prefer to have a gay
- 38:26Speaker 4: He or a Laquir or even better Amouna's and so
- 38:29Speaker 4: by doing the Rice move that would allow me to
- 38:31Speaker 4: do that. And in fact, if I do the Rice move,
- 38:33Speaker 4: it also means I don't have to sell Mickey van Derven.
- 38:36Speaker 4: I can keep Mickey Vanderven and I can sell Goodmunsin instead.
- 38:38Speaker 4: So but I have only got two transfers and I
- 38:41Speaker 4: would like to not use them both because obviously over
- 38:44Speaker 4: the international break that we have coming up, it's nice
- 38:46Speaker 4: to have a couple of transfers just to make sure
- 38:48Speaker 4: that everyone comes back. Okay, And I am also pondering
- 38:52Speaker 4: on I was pondering on Voldemarden back to Jel Pedro
- 38:55Speaker 4: because after the weekend I was so frustrated with Voltemada's
- 38:58Speaker 4: performance and also then second half benching. So yeah, very disappointing.
- 39:04Speaker 4: So I'm not really sure yet what I'm doing.
- 39:07Speaker 1: But three Pedro, is that a real possibility.
- 39:10Speaker 4: For the next two weeks. I think it's a possibility. Yeah,
- 39:12Speaker 4: The fixtures the fixtures, would you do it?
- 39:15Speaker 5: Jells?
- 39:17Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:18Speaker 5: I like vote him either, But then I've watched him
- 39:20Speaker 5: in the Champions League on Wednesday night and I'm like,
- 39:24Speaker 5: we don't have the time to go deep into the
- 39:26Speaker 5: I think they misusing him or they're not using him
- 39:29Speaker 5: like they should and you cast on. So I feel
- 39:31Speaker 5: a little bit for him, And in terms of us
- 39:34Speaker 5: an FBL To be fair, I don't I think I
- 39:37Speaker 5: benched him this week because I don't think it's going
- 39:39Speaker 5: to return. I think it needs more time. So yeah,
- 39:42Speaker 5: I can see why people maybe don't want to keep him.
- 39:44Speaker 5: And if you don't want to keep him again, play
- 39:46Speaker 5: the fixtures and job pedro against Wolves?
- 39:51Speaker 2: Yeah? Why not?
- 39:52Speaker 1: Yeah? It does make sense on some levels, I suppose,
- 39:54Speaker 1: but it just feels like the frustration that we've had
- 39:56Speaker 1: all season with him. I just can't bear myself to
- 39:58Speaker 1: go through that once again. I'd rather go through it
- 40:00Speaker 1: with a new player in Baltimoda. And what about Captain
- 40:02Speaker 1: C Then are we just going Harland Harland Harland every week?
- 40:05Speaker 2: Now?
- 40:05Speaker 3: Sam?
- 40:06Speaker 1: Or Sam you must be after your frustrating a week
- 40:08Speaker 1: last week.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Honestly, I'm so frustrated because this week is not the
- 40:15Speaker 4: week to captain Harland. Is it like it's difficult fixture
- 40:18Speaker 4: against Liverpool's side who are in a bit of a resurgence.
- 40:21Speaker 4: The last couple of results have been good, couple of
- 40:23Speaker 4: performances have been good, but honestly, the feeling last weekend
- 40:29Speaker 4: of captain somebody who I think it would have been
- 40:31Speaker 4: different had I captain somebody who returned. I think I
- 40:34Speaker 4: would have been more willing to go against him again
- 40:36Speaker 4: because even if you'd lost a couple of points like
- 40:39Speaker 4: Jeors did, it doesn't feel like the end of the
- 40:40Speaker 4: world to be a couple of points down, But it
- 40:43Speaker 4: really does feel like the end of the world when
- 40:46Speaker 4: you're captain Blanks. And so because of that, it has
- 40:50Speaker 4: made me really wary of going different and thinking outside
- 40:53Speaker 4: the box with the captain c. So despite the fact
- 40:56Speaker 4: that I would like to go elsewhere this week, I
- 40:59Speaker 4: am going to be really boring and just go back
- 41:01Speaker 4: to Harlan because the fear and the impact on my
- 41:04Speaker 4: rank is.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Just too huge. So yeah, Harlan, it is.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yep, same for me, and I'm going to roll my
- 41:10Speaker 1: transfers again because I'm really boring. Okay, then it's a
- 41:13Speaker 1: Saturday morning deadline this weekend at eleven am, ninety minutes
- 41:16Speaker 1: before the lunchtime kickoff, which is between Spurs and Manchester United.
- 41:19Speaker 1: The Fancy Show will also be available for you to
- 41:21Speaker 1: watch on the Premier League website and app. That's on Friday.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Sam's in the studio with me off the bench. We'll
- 41:26Speaker 1: be back on Monday as in Lee talking through all
- 41:28Speaker 1: the key talking points from Game Week eleven. Have a
- 41:30Speaker 1: great game week, guys, and we'll see you next week.
