- 0:00Hi raccoon, hiy Hi Delia. It's the Fat Raccoons and we're gonna talk
- 0:18some trash to you. Yeah. Do you even get that reference? No,
- 0:22well you mean the hey, hey, that's fat Albert, thank you.
- 0:25Yeah, I know that. That's the song from My Dome. That
- 0:28was the song. Oh I didn't know the song. Oh my gosh.
- 0:31Yeah. So we're the fat Raccoons. We are fat. We're here to
- 0:35talk some trash to these raccoons. Yeah. We are gathered here today in
- 0:40the year of Lar twenty twenty three to talk about the Sister Wives because they're
- 0:44traveling around again. They're going to Boston. They're looking at Colladron. Oh
- 0:49my god. They're on a panel discussing the very important topic of polygamy.
- 0:56They're religious celestial marriage, baby, Yeah, it's not just about being married
- 1:00on the planet. Yeah, on the Earth's and the celestial kingdom. You're
- 1:04up in heaven with Jesus Christ themselves, with your celestial planet. Jesus.
- 1:10I don't know if Jesus is there. Yeah. No, they like have
- 1:11a whole planet for Jesus. Wait, Jesus has his own planet, yeah,
- 1:15or like God has his own planet or some shit like that. Okay,
- 1:18wait, so you die, Yeah, you go to heaven and if
- 1:22you're the man, you get your own planet based on the number of wives
- 1:25you have or something, right, allegedly, so you get your own tricked
- 1:27out planet with everything you want, which is probably more hoes. Oh,
- 1:32totally, lots of homes. Yeah, do whatever you want. The wives
- 1:36you married on Earth get to go up to this planet too. They don't
- 1:40have any ownership though, of course, they don't have their own palace,
- 1:44they don't have their own hose. Yeah, they're still your hoe. I
- 1:47would imagine. Maybe they're an exalted ho. Yeah, slightly deified ho.
- 1:52Yeah, they're more exalted than if you were in a monogamous marriage. And
- 1:56so you get to move into the celestial bourbon neighborhood of Jesus. Yeah.
- 2:02So it's not like you're living with Jesus on the same planet, or that
- 2:06Jesus is living in your heart. Jesus is like two doors down on his
- 2:09own planet of course, with his own hose. I don't want to be
- 2:13blossoms. Maybe he does, he's Jesus, and so can you go and
- 2:17visit Jesus planet? I don't think so. Really, Yeah, like you're
- 2:21all in, just like the celestial Kingdom of Heaven. Stay on your fucking
- 2:25planet. I gave you everything, I sacrifice everything for you. I would
- 2:30clusified on across. Yeah, let me have my planet all you Mormons,
- 2:35Yes, stay on your planets. Yeah, with all your wives and your
- 2:38homes and stuff. Yeah. So okay, celestial kingdom. Yeah, not
- 2:42weird if you're a dude. That's kicking a Mormon dude. I mean,
- 2:47yeah, of course they would be. Of course they would. Still don't
- 2:52get why the wives would be, though they try to talk about it here,
- 2:55just as it's an article of their faith and it was written into their
- 3:00faith by Joseph Smith, because it wasn't Jesus. Jesus was not talking about
- 3:05having multiple wives, but I guess Joseph Smith did. And because Joseph Smith
- 3:09did, that is an article of their faith. And that is why the
- 3:13women are okay to have just one man, but multiple wives. But never
- 3:16would they ever consider having multiple husbands because Joseph Smith never said they could.
- 3:22Well, and wouldn't that be exhausting though, like fucking Janelle even says like
- 3:27that would be too much work. I feel like that would be ridiculous.
- 3:30To have too many husbands. Like all these husbands, I'm going to compare
- 3:32and contrast whether I would like to share one man that I really love with
- 3:37four bitches or for me to have that man plus other men and not have
- 3:43to share. I gotta be honest with you. I'd give them multiple men.
- 3:46Oh my god. Yes, they'd be working on my house, working
- 3:50on my car. They'd all be working the lay financially supporting me. I
- 3:53could do whatever the fuck I wanted to see. That would be lit.
- 3:55Yeah, Oh that would be baller if I did have a bunch of men
- 4:00in just provide him for me so I don't have to do nothing and it's
- 4:01just one womb. Oh yeah, just you having the children that you want
- 4:05to have. So you're never going to have twenty one children. I don't
- 4:08think that's true. And you can only have a couple of kids maybe,
- 4:12but yeah, four dudes financially supporting you so that you can take cruises,
- 4:15you can go on trips, you can go. That would be a great
- 4:18ingle partying girl. Come up whatever. Yeah, you should tell your husband,
- 4:23hey, let's get a brother husband that would not go over to give
- 4:28him any sugar. You wouldn't have to give him the cookie. Oh the
- 4:30new men, Yeah, you wouldn't have to. God, well, what
- 4:33would incentivize them to There are men that stuff. Maybe he wants to just
- 4:41put your hair or something and pay my hair. Yeah, just just um
- 4:45adore me. Yeah, I mean I can see it, just fat.
- 4:47I feel like it's realistic. Actually, I mean yeah, that I wouldn't
- 4:49have to give him the cookie. I wouldn't have to really do anything,
- 4:53but they would have to have jobs and support me and my current husband.
- 4:56Yeah, just because they adore me. Of course. I feel like if
- 4:59you get a do with a foot fetish, where like you're just like putting
- 5:02your feet on him and he doesn't, he just gets off on that.
- 5:06I feel like your husband. I feel like I could sit down right now.
- 5:10Yeah, I could maybe go into a meditation and see something like a
- 5:14white salamander, and I could like begin to download an entire religion where I
- 5:19get to be the center of it, to have multiple husbands supporting me,
- 5:24and then also right in some additional scriptures for my bitches. Yea, so
- 5:28y'all can have some multiple men to supporting you. Sounds like a great religious
- 5:31movement. Let's start it right, now sounds about as arbitrary, is what
- 5:34happened with Joseph Smith. I don't mean to be a hater. I don't
- 5:38know if we've got Mormons out there listening, but and I I'm just saying,
- 5:42I feel like Mormonism when you get into it and you look at what's
- 5:46really being taught white salamanders and whatnot, colb and whatnot, I feel like
- 5:53it's not stud I mean, what's separating that from scientology? Right, That's
- 5:59what I'm saying. And this episode, they kept referring to themselves as Christians,
- 6:01and I was looking at you. I'm like, they're not Christians,
- 6:03and You're like, yeah, they are. They believe in Jesus. I'm
- 6:05just a different kind of Christian, a special flavor of Christian. There's many
- 6:11Christians, but Christianity is really fucking crazy too. All religions are. I
- 6:15mean really, if you look it down and the nitty gritty of them all,
- 6:18yes, they all have some weird stuff in Yeah. I mean it's
- 6:20not like Mormons are more crazy. It's that all of religion is crazy.
- 6:26And in my opinion, if I may just philosophize for a moment, I
- 6:30feel like all religion is just man's attempt to approximate via mythology, their connection
- 6:38to the divine, and because that divine is ineffable and really unknowable to be
- 6:43human. Like, we can't tell you what God looks like, right,
- 6:46We can't say that. We can make stories, though, but what we
- 6:48think he ought to look like, what she ought to look like. And
- 6:50then we can pass those stories down as law. And we can also ring
- 6:55those stories so that the white male gets the predominant benefit of that religion.
- 7:00And we can also set up different kinds of ruled and regulations to keep people
- 7:02subjugated through fear, especially women, especially women. I was watching something recently
- 7:09where they were talking about the nature of man, and it's funny because for
- 7:13most of my life I have believed that man is inherently good, like human
- 7:21inherently good. Like if there's somebody who sees you suffering on the side of
- 7:27the road, like the story of the good Samaritan, right, that person
- 7:30is more than likely to stop and help you. Like I've always had that
- 7:33view of the world. But then when you see some of the stuff happening
- 7:36in the world, like there was this Toronto subway incident where this guy is
- 7:42fighting with another guy on the subway. The guy starts straight up stabbing him.
- 7:47The guy gets up and runs through the subway. So he's running through
- 7:50all of these different train cars and people are just getting out of the way.
- 7:54Wow, nobody is doing anything. And the guy gets stabbed multiple times.
- 7:58And I'm like Jesus Christ, if I was there, I would probably
- 8:01feel like I would need to do something me too, even though I'm a
- 8:05tiny little woman that is not very struck, right, I would feel the
- 8:09need to do something. I feel like that's instinctive. And that's why I've
- 8:13always thought, well, if that's my instinct, it must be everybody's instinct.
- 8:16But I actually think, I actually think that that's not true. I
- 8:20think that I'm not sure everybody's by nature good. I don't think by nature
- 8:26everybody's good. And I mean especially now in these day and ages, when
- 8:30we have just like fear and propaganda, just like shove down our throats constantly
- 8:33the internet. Try to do something, Yeah, you get blamed for trying
- 8:37to do something exactly. Yeah, so I help somebody. We live in
- 8:41upside down world right now, so it's a little bit different. People are
- 8:43scared yea, to do the right thing. Yeah, but it's just I
- 8:48think the nature of man not to like get too crazy raccoons. I just
- 8:50think is the nature of man to like create systems to glorify themselves, yeah,
- 8:56talk of themselves, and then to subjugate others. And I think Mormonism
- 9:00is a sham, dude. I think Mormonism is a sham. Yeah,
- 9:03especially this polygamist branch that they're in right now that tells them that this is
- 9:07a good thing to be in. And I mean, I guess there's benefits,
- 9:11Like I guess there's benefits for the sister wives for childcare and stuff like
- 9:15that. And if the man is providing for you, then hey, shit,
- 9:18yeah, but Cody's not working. He's not at all. So it's
- 9:22like it's just Jannelle, it's just Janelle and the TLC checks, it's just
- 9:26the family pot that they're benefiting from. Yeah. Maybe in some plural marriages
- 9:31we have the man working and providing for all of the women and the women
- 9:35are sharing with healthcare and taking care of the men, and maybe that works.
- 9:39But I just don't really see how this is fair spiritually, financially and
- 9:43physically for women and I'm like, you go to great lengths to try and
- 9:48justify it. Oh for sure. Well, in the show My Five Wives
- 9:50on Discovery Plus, that guy provides for all five of his wives, right,
- 9:54Like none of them do anything. He just provides all of the money
- 9:58pretty much. But they have like a different system where they all have like
- 10:01like kind of like a hotel like house where each one has their own like
- 10:05little sweet and everything, but it's one giant fucking house that they all live
- 10:09in together, right, contrast to the Browns that are all in their own
- 10:13separate houses and luxury Las Vegas. Right, And haven't there been people in
- 10:18polygamy who have spoken out and said Cody's not doing it right? Yea,
- 10:22like he's not being fair, like he's not actually practicing polygamy in the right
- 10:26way. Well, yeah, and for the right reasons because he got into
- 10:30it late in life too, because of his dad, because his dad wanted
- 10:33to bang Janelle's mom. And okay, sidebar, what so how old is
- 10:39his dad at this time? Because so Cody's twenty years old, he's often
- 10:43his mission. So his dad's went forty or fifty, Yeah, Janelle's mom's
- 10:46forty or fifties. So she's not like some hot beautiful you were hot in
- 10:50your forties, apple bottomed jeans with the boots. Maybe she was. Maybe
- 10:54she was. We saw her later though, didn't we up at the ranch?
- 10:56Yeah, but like forty years later, she's older but is hemily compelled
- 11:01by lust. I think so he's not compelled by his faith. He wants.
- 11:05You think he just wants to bang Janelle's mom. I think so.
- 11:09Back then, Yeah, I think that's why he converted. He wanted because
- 11:13he had some kind of like sensual sexy love affair with Janelle's mom, and
- 11:18he wanted to like justify the cheating. Sancho was a dash Mormon style.
- 11:24I like to me, it's like when you convert so late in life,
- 11:26in your fifties or whatever, it's probably for the faith. I don't know,
- 11:31because I don't know. I don't I don't think it was for the
- 11:35faith. And then I think when Cody saw his dad doing that, and
- 11:37his dad was like, yeah, that's kind of a sweet deal, Cody's
- 11:39like, shit, Okay, I'm on convert too, thanks. Daddy put
- 11:43these women to work, and I'm sure Cody did it also to get his
- 11:46daddy's approval because I think his dad don't mind. He always needs the bro's
- 11:50approval. Oh my god, we're getting ahead of ourselves. We got to
- 11:52our formal disclaimer, which is we suck. Phrice in particular has no class
- 11:58or coup. I'm very vulgar. I'm just I'm a truth teller. You

- 14:24reality TV cringe now searchable in the app. Yeah, all right, let's
- 14:26get into this episode of Sister Wives season three, episode nine, entitled college
- 14:33Bound Browns. The Browns are heading over to Boston, honey, because if
- 14:39you recall a couple of episodes, to go to three episodes ago, we
- 14:41had that mousey little girl, Danielle Yes travel from Harvard, I guess to
- 14:46come visit the Browns and try to experience polygamy. Yeah, and get to
- 14:50know them more. That's right. She invited them back to her university to
- 14:56do some kind of a panel discussion. And here we are about to travel
- 15:00to Boston. We're taking the four oldest children. We're also going to get
- 15:03a tour of a couple of colleges, so big stuff in the plans.
- 15:07I mean, I get why the kids had to go with them, you
- 15:11know, because they were going to answer some more questions from the perspective of
- 15:13the kids. But the whole college touring thing, I'm like, these kids
- 15:18aren't going to go to these utter but like I, nobody can get into
- 15:22Harvard, nobody can get in toughs. Like it's like, why are you
- 15:26touring these colleges. I never even went in toward universities, Like I went
- 15:30to college and when I got my associate's degree, but I don't I never
- 15:33went to like tour or anything at the time that I was in Hawaii,
- 15:37which was moons and moons and moons ago. Like the big thing in Hawaii
- 15:41isn't like where you went to college. It's where you went to high school.
- 15:45Really, and so the yeah, the way we communicated with each other
- 15:46when we met is like where'd you grad from? Like school did you go
- 15:50to? But we didn't mean your college, I mean your high school.
- 15:52So that was the big deal. And nobody really ever was that I knew
- 15:56of encouraged to go to college. I certainly wasn't. I wasn't expected to
- 16:02go to college. Therefore I did not go to college. It was not
- 16:04a big emphasis really, not even for any but nobody you knew, like
- 16:10went to college. Is there even a there's a college in Hawaii. University
- 16:12of Hawaii. Is that the only one. They used to be called the
- 16:15Rainbows, which you would love, but then it was associated with the lazo
- 16:21and the gaze and everything, and so they changed it to the Warriors.
- 16:23That's lame. Yeah, they couldn't stick with the Bows, which was better.
- 16:27Wow. Yeah, there's a university there, but there just wasn't a
- 16:30huge academic um mindset. Huh. But you're so smart though. I know
- 16:36that's because there's a past life that activated within me or something I swart of
- 16:40God. I I sort of got because like when I was eighteen and nineteen,
- 16:44and if you had met me, then, first of all, you
- 16:45would not have recognized me, because when I'm so much older. Yeah,
- 16:49And second I was illiterate sounding Really I spoke in such broken English that I
- 17:00mean you would not as a howly person, as a person from the mainland,
- 17:03if you will, you would not have understood me. I was one
- 17:07hundred percent local what I was born and raised there. My grandfather is from
- 17:11there, so like I was a part of that culture, and so I
- 17:15had to go out of my way to learn how to speak. And something
- 17:18happened. It was weird. I started reading books, of course, you
- 17:21know, in my teens, but between the years eighteen and twenty, something
- 17:25happened with my brain. And I don't think it was just reading romance novels
- 17:29when I was reading, but I just started noticing. I would know words
- 17:34and they would be multisyllabic, so not just one, but like words that
- 17:40I had never consciously thought of would appear in my brain ball and I would
- 17:44use them in a sentence and I would be correct. I'd go back and
- 17:48look at in the dictionary, like what the fuck was that word? And
- 17:49it was correct. I swear to god, I was accessing like I hit
- 17:53some I'm going crazy, I hit some fucking vibration in my life. Wow,
- 17:57where I access this grid of consciousness and all of a sudden, I
- 18:00knew words and I was more intelligent. I wasn't BookSmart or anything like that,
- 18:04but I had this knowledge that I had never accessed before. That's cool.
- 18:11In my twenties and my thirties, squirrel, I mean I would sit
- 18:14down with therapists and analysts because I was fucked up. Yeah, almost all
- 18:17of them would say to me, you have an astounding vocabulary. I mean,
- 18:19you really do. And when I met you and met everybody else in
- 18:25your family and everything, I was surprised by all the words you guys know,
- 18:27because I feel like I'm illiterate when I talk. I don't know big
- 18:32words. I don't know vocabulary very well. Like I'm good, I'm street
- 18:36smart. I'm kind of book smart in terms of science and math and stuff.
- 18:38I was always good at that shit. But when it came to like
- 18:41english and reading, I don't read. I don't know big words. That's
- 18:45not true. Everything that follows I am defines who you are, So you
- 18:48need to change how you language. Girls. Listen, I know you're preaching
- 18:52to meet, you're preaching book I know, but I'm just saying, very
- 18:55intelligent. You guys know a lot of big words. Though you know a
- 18:59lot of big words. I do. But I'm telling you right now,
- 19:00I'm operating at forty percent of what I was in my twenties and thirties.
- 19:03Well, it's still on. God. I just was very, very intelligent,
- 19:08and it was very effortless for me. And so now at my like
- 19:12older age, Oh, I just want to find the right pill, the
- 19:15right exercise, the right way of eating, so I can unlock the way
- 19:18that I used to think and I used to speak. Man, how did
- 19:22we get here? I don't know, but I mean to make a correlation.
- 19:26The Browns in comparison are dumb. Well, Logan's gotten some good he
- 19:37does. He's wholesome, and he dreams of going to someplace like Harvard,
- 19:41but he knows he's going to end up community college, which, by the
- 19:45way, you should do anyway, you should do a community college. That's
- 19:48what I did. I do my associates degree and debt free. Do not
- 19:52be taking out loans, Oh my god. No, some people are taking
- 19:56out loans for like fifty thousand dollars seven five thousand dollars a year to go
- 20:02to college for a liberal arts degree. Literally never going to be able to
- 20:06you. My sister went to college fifteen years ago and is still paying off
- 20:11her undergraduate degree. She only got a degree in history, and she flunked
- 20:15one of the years because she was drunk partying in France for a year.
- 20:19And she's got like eighty thousand dollars in debt still that she's still fucking paying
- 20:25off. I'm like, dude, you can't declare that debt in bankruptcy.
- 20:29You can defer it from time to time, but you're going to have to
- 20:30pay that debt for the rest of your life. I wonder what happens if
- 20:33you die? Do they what do they do? They'll take it out of
- 20:36your estate if you have one. I think they do. I don't know
- 20:38that they can pass it on in your family. I believe that against a
- 20:41lot, but that shit follows you for the rest of your life for what
- 20:44For what kind of a degree? I think people should be learning the trades.
- 20:48I agree we need more people in the trades. So Logan, though,
- 20:52understands that they just don't have the money. Yeah, and also Tufts
- 20:56and Harvard is very far away from the family, and so he's going to
- 21:00probably end up going to a community college. And we know Hunter went to
- 21:03the Air Force Academy, Yeah, which is awesome, badass. But most
- 21:07of those kids, and even Janelle's talking about it, like most of these
- 21:10kids are, They're gonna have to figure it out. Because I had to
- 21:11figure it out. I had to work. I had to get extra jobs.
- 21:15I had to get scholarships. And if I couldn't do that, then
- 21:18I couldn't go to school based. I mean, nothing in life is free.
- 21:22You kind of have to work for your shit. Yeah, looking at
- 21:25you, Delea, I'm just kidding. Oh we're about to fight? Are
- 21:30we about to do? We're about to fight? No, But like my
- 21:33second husband, because of course I've been married a million times. My second
- 21:36husband had some older kids when I married him. Yeah, they ended up
- 21:38going to college, but he paid their entire four year degree, both of
- 21:42them. That's wild. So they got to graduate with no debt. His
- 21:48eldest child went right into an internship at like an oil company, started making
- 21:53big money. So it's just like some people have a lot of privilege.
- 21:56I think most people do not. I've had a lot of opportunity to go
- 22:02back and go to college, but I'm just not interested. I'm not either.
- 22:06I wanted to go back to school after I got my associates degree.
- 22:07I was going to take a year off because I was like, oh God,
- 22:11I'm so tired of this shit. And I never went back. And
- 22:14that was like seven years ago. I got my Associates and I'm like,
- 22:17I don't think I'm even interested in getting a degree in anything, because AI
- 22:21is just going to replace everything probably, to be honest, AI can't replace
- 22:25your passion. It can't replace creativity. And when I've been the most success
- 22:30it's when I've started my own business. Yeah, I've indulged my passion.
- 22:33I talked about and taught what I love, and when I did that,
- 22:37people always came to me. Honey, I believe the manifestation in this way,
- 22:41and I made lots and lots of money. So that's how I think
- 22:44we should train up our youth to be entrepreneurs, to know how to balance
- 22:48a checkbook, to learn a trade. If you want to go to school,
- 22:52learn a fucking trade and be useful, be a productive citizen in this
- 22:55world. Certainly get an education. I think that's wonderful. But for a
- 22:59purpose for use Yeah, not dance studies, snow, not just a mass
- 23:03knowledge, And like what are you going to do with that knowledge? Though?
- 23:04Exactly how are you going to use it? Right? It's just gonna
- 23:07rode away in your brain because like half the ship that I learned in college,
- 23:11I'm like, I don't even remember or care about because it wasn't relevant
- 23:15to real life. I was surprised actually listening to the Browns here in this
- 23:18episode, because they really did seem to put an emphasis on wanting their kids
- 23:22to get that education. Yeah, and I can understand it because none of
- 23:27the adults have gone to college, so none of them got to have that
- 23:32experience, and so they look highly on college. And that's how I grew
- 23:34up too, Like nobody and my family went to college. Nobody even graduated
- 23:40high school in my family. So I was always pushed go to college,
- 23:44be a fucking doctor or some shit, or a neuroscientist or whatever. I
- 23:47had crazy goals when I was like nineteen, I wanted to be a neuroscientist.
- 23:52And then I was like, oh, I don't have to go to
- 23:52school, and that I didn't want to do that, right, But that's
- 23:59the mentality when you grew up with parents who never went to school. But
- 24:02did your parents go to college? My father went to the University of Oregon.
- 24:07Oh hey, yeah, he went to the University of Oregon and he
- 24:10dropped out one semester from graduation. He studied archaeology and he actually went on
- 24:15some archaeological digs. But that's another thing like, well, what are you
- 24:18going to do with that, dad? I mean, really, what you
- 24:19do with that dad? But he didn't finish college. Wow, my mom
- 24:23did not go to university. No, And neither of them ever talked to
- 24:26me about it, Like they never started saying, hey, you want to
- 24:30start thinking about colleges, we want to look at scholarships, you want to
- 24:33look at extracurriculars. Like, none of those conversations happened at interesting we just
- 24:37went to the beach. Wow. It was always shoved down my throat.
- 24:41Wow. Okay, yeah, it was always like an expectation that I had
- 24:45to go to college and be super smart and great at it. Well you
- 24:48are. You are super smart. Thanks, you know, irrespective of what
- 24:52you just said about yourself, which I want to just challenge you to just
- 24:55start rewarding your sentences. Yeah, it's affirmative and validating because that is what
- 24:59you will become. But I do want to talk about the Browns again,
- 25:03because they make it to Boston. Yeah, they check into what looks like
- 25:07a double tree. It's one of those weird Odell's, like a big flowers
- 25:10open part and those plants hanging from each of the levels. And I don't
- 25:15know if that's a double tree, but I don't. Didn't we stay at
- 25:18a place like that when we were in Phoenix, Yeah, you totally did.
- 25:22I didn't like it at all, No you did. It had a
- 25:23huge, fucking like aquatic fucking plants everywhere in the middle of the middle,
- 25:30and you're like, this is booty I am, so you are like,
- 25:34get me to the Four Seasons. Anyway, So they check into the hotel
- 25:40and they're all on the same floor, and Cody's making kind of a big
- 25:44production about getting his own key from each room because he has to be able
- 25:48to walk in and mingle with his wife because I'm their husband. I get
- 25:52to, Yeah, I get to. And I wondered what room he slept
- 25:55in? Yeah, I wonder, do you. Yeah, we'll try and
- 25:59put your fa I was gonna say, try and put your fakes like it
- 26:02was Christine, but it wasn't. Ended up over there with rob and she's
- 26:07heavy with child. I mean, she needs a man to protect her and
- 26:10take her everywhere. So well, and the other three wives brought a child,
- 26:14so each one of them had to share a room with their child.
- 26:18So of course naturally he got to stab probably I'm not sure. Next,
- 26:25they meet up with Danielle and some of her college students. They take him
- 26:30out to dinner at some weird fire and ice restaurant play in Boston, some
- 26:34fusion restaurant probably. They start having conversations and the kids are asking some questions.
- 26:41And what I found interesting actually before we even got to Boston or to
- 26:45this dinner, was Cody kind of preoccupied with being judged and worried about what
- 26:52people were going to say to them. And they kind of were making up
- 26:56the story about what the audience was going to ask and think of them before
- 27:00they even got there, which kind of lends itself to their pre victimization of
- 27:04themselves before they ever encounter an experience. Yeah, they were already on the
- 27:10defense. And Cody was like super worried about being called out for being a
- 27:14misogynist and a terrible person and why would you subjugate your wives and children to
- 27:19be like this, And it's like, calm down, buddy, Yeah,
- 27:22Like it's not like Utah. Like I understand that you might have some fear
- 27:27with the Utah Mormans because they do not like polygamists there and it's illegal there,
- 27:32So I get it. But it's Boston, right, I mean there's
- 27:36people there with like piercings and craziness and super diverse. It's super diverse,
- 27:41So it doesn't it's not that big of a deal. I think he's probably
- 27:45worried most of all about the Warren Jeff's thing, because, as we discussed
- 27:48last week, this is in the cultural zeitgeist. Everybody knows about it.
- 27:53And I guess at the time of this filming when they go to Boston,
- 27:57Warren Jeffs has just been convicted. Yeah, so he's going to jail,
- 28:02and so Cody understands that he's going to be loosely associated or heavily associated with
- 28:07Warren Jeffs. And again, I say for good reason. I'm not saying
- 28:11they're abusive at all, but they gets the fruit from the poisonous tree.
- 28:15Right, this is and you say in this episode, this is a tenet
- 28:18of your faith that has ultimately been bastardized and distorted ending up with Warren Jeffs.
- 28:26But you're related to them, Yeah, I mean that's your weird,
- 28:27fucking perverted uncle. They're part of your religion, whether you like to admit
- 28:32it or not. I know you're aub I know you're different than a filthy
- 28:34yes, but it's still the same thing. Yeah, And I'm sure he's
- 28:37concerned people are going to ask about Warren Jeffs because it's in their consciousness.
- 28:41Yeah, and he's going to have to explain it away. And you can
- 28:44see when they're on the panel. I hate to skip ahead, but I'm
- 28:47doing it anyway. When they're on the panel, like Robin really gets emotional
- 28:51and starts crying about Warren Jeffs and she thinks he should rotten hell, or
- 28:55as the Britney Cartwright from Vounder Rule says, rotten Hey, all should rotten
- 29:00high because of all the abuse he's done to women, children and men.
- 29:06But like they're going out of their way in a dramatic way to separate themselves.
- 29:10Super dramatic. But I mean there's a chord you cannot break if you
- 29:14ask me, of course. But I mean Cody is a narcissistic type of
- 29:18person, so it's all about his image and how he is perceived by the
- 29:22general public. I mean, you could see his smile on that panel,
- 29:26like he was kind of love and the fame he was love and seeing his
- 29:30photo on there. Oh yeah, he loves it. He's bathing in it
- 29:33before they even get to the panel. Christine's like, I'm just envisioning they're
- 29:37all going to be a bunch of feminists, I know, and they're just
- 29:42why we as women would make these choices. But I'm like, I think
- 29:45a real feminist would be okay with you making an autonomous choice for yourself,
- 29:52using your own agency. Like, if you really love it, then I
- 29:55think another feminist will love it for you. They might think this isn't the
- 29:59greatest example, sure for other women and young girls, but like, I
- 30:03still think you have the right to do it. But she maybe obviously doesn't
- 30:07like feminists. Yeah, she's triggered by that, well, because I mean
- 30:11I feel like a lot of feminists would look at this kind of situation and
- 30:15be like, well, this is upholding the patriarchy and everything. I mean,
- 30:18it kinda is a little bit. I mean, it's at the subject
- 30:21of a man, like the man is the only one that gets to benefit
- 30:25from multiple wives. Like, yeah, the wives benefit kind of, but
- 30:29they still have They're the ones that have to deal with the jealousy. They're
- 30:30the ones that have to deal with the insecurity. They're the ones that have
- 30:33to share the husband, right, so the husband's not really sacrificing anything.
- 30:37Well, Cody's not. I don't think Cody's benefiting. But I mean it's
- 30:41like the feminists who call out sex workers and strippers and say you're devaluing women,
- 30:48And I'm like, well, no, they're doing what they want to
- 30:48do if they really want to do it, unless they are doing it because
- 30:52they're oppressed into doing it, of course. But anyway, so Christine's worried
- 30:55about feminists. Everybody's worried about the judgment. When they go out to dinner
- 31:00at the fire and Ice place, there's a lot of different kinds of questions.
- 31:03Somebody asks them what they think about alternative lifestyles because they have the Browns
- 31:08have an alternative lifestyle, So how do they feel about, for example,
- 31:14gay and homosexual relationships and or something like polyandry, which is one woman and
- 31:19multiple men. Yeah, and I mean essentially all of the wives and Cody
- 31:26just say, well, whatever our kids choose to do, or whatever anyone
- 31:30chooses to do, who are we to judge? Which I thought it was
- 31:33a pretty based take at least, because you know, Christine said it from
- 31:37the perspective of, like why would we judge anybody else's lifestyle if it's harmless
- 31:44when we are the ones that are also facing judgment for how we live our
- 31:48lifestyle, Like, we're obviously not a normal monogamous, straight relationship. It's
- 31:53a little bit different, so we shouldn't judge. I'm like, oh,
- 31:56that's cool. Yeah, But Cody did kind of go out of his way
- 32:00to say, you know, there are relationships and lifestyles that don't match up
- 32:04with my religion that I don't necessarily agree with, but I'm always going to
- 32:07respect your right to have that relationship. So I'm thinking that means gay.
- 32:12Yeah, I'm thinking that means homosexual. And I'm thinking that means polyandry because
- 32:15when he's on the panel later, somebody asks the question that is inevitable,
- 32:20which is, well, how do you feel about one woman having multiple husbands?
- 32:24And this idea continues to really fucking offend him. It does, Yeah,
- 32:30And I wonder why it offends him because that would mean that his wives.
- 32:35Maybe I'm speaking from a religious perspective of like, maybe his wives would
- 32:39be unpure because they are. A wife would be unpure because she's sharing herself
- 32:45with multiple men, as opposed to the man who's supposed to spread their seed.
- 32:47Right, We've talked about that before on this pod, Like that's the
- 32:52religious connotation, is that men are supposed to spread their seed and the women
- 32:55are supposed to raise the babies and stay at home. But I want or
- 33:00why it offends him. Maybe because he's a little bitch baby, maybe,
- 33:02but I think he has to imagine it. Maybe so he has to imagine
- 33:07his own wives in a predicament where they're sharing their body with other men.
- 33:12And I just feel like it shines such a distinct light on his hypocrisy and
- 33:16of course the hypocrisy of his religion that they won't allow the women to have
- 33:21the same type of arrangement. There's really no excuse for that other than what
- 33:25they always fall back on, which is, well, it's a tenet of
- 33:28our faith, and Joseph Smith didn't say that we could, and so we
- 33:31don't we do what Joseph Smith said that we have to do. Right.
- 33:35Well, I mean that would make sense if Cody doesn't like to imagine it,
- 33:38because if we fast forward to season seventeen when he's talking about Christine leaving
- 33:43him and how his biggest qualm with that is her leaving to Utah or something
- 33:47and getting with another man and like having another relationship with another man. And
- 33:52then we see posts on Instagram of Christine flaunting her new relationship with her big
- 33:58dick husband or fiance David. Maybe Cody's like super insecure about that, even
- 34:04though he doesn't want to touch Christine, even though he doesn't want to have
- 34:07that relationship with some of these wives, right, but he wants to possess
- 34:10a first refusal, like he wants the rights to it. He just doesn't
- 34:14want to access those rights or use those rights. It's that probably, but
- 34:20I think he was. He also said in season seventeen that he didn't want
- 34:23another man coming in and taking his money, Yeah, which isn't his money.
- 34:28It's not as much as his wives money predominantly. I mean, the
- 34:31majority of that money belongs to the wives. Yeah, and he's worried about
- 34:35another man coming in and getting part of that. Yeah, So that's that's
- 34:38what made him think that too, I think, right. Yeah, probably,
- 34:42So back at the dinner, somebody asked the kids whether they would consider
- 34:47also going into polygamy, and this is where Leon says, yes, Yeah,
- 34:53Leon's just like I envisioned that for my life, and that's what I'm
- 34:58going to do. I go, oh, man, the stark difference.
- 35:00I know, it's so funny to watch that. And now, yeah,
- 35:05the crazy change. And then I think it was Aspen who said, Mmm,
- 35:08I don't think so. I'll figure it out. But I'm only sixteen.
- 35:13I don't think so. I don't know if I want that. But
- 35:15Aspen has referenced a couple of times that she doesn't want to do it because
- 35:19of the level of difficulty. Yeah, because of how hard it actually is.
- 35:22And again I think this is because she witnesses firsthand Christine really having to
- 35:28struggle in her marriage to Cody, and she knows as the eldest what Christine
- 35:32has had to go through, especially the jealousy, yeah, the neglect,
- 35:36which is only going to get worse in the seasons to come, So Aspen
- 35:39knows it. Do you think the difficulties that Aspen is referring to are about
- 35:44the difficulties with Robin and not the difficulties of all of the time that she's
- 35:49been alive, like with her mom being a plural marriage, because Christine,
- 35:52up until Robin came in to the family, has always said they've had a
- 35:57blissful, great marriage, and she was the last wife. She loved being
- 36:00the last wife. It was great. And now that Robin's in the picture,
- 36:05Like, is that the difficulties? I don't think so, because in
- 36:07later seasons we learn that Christine and Mary had a lot of problems. Janelle
- 36:13and Mary had a lot of problems. I think there were pre existing issues
- 36:16with the matriarchs, and that would probably regard time or money or access and
- 36:24kind of just trying to figure it out. So I don't think it's been
- 36:27bliss well, no, I think that Aspen again, being the eldest,
- 36:30has probably seen all of that. That's what I think. I don't know,
- 36:34though, what do I know. I wasn't there, I mean true,
- 36:36all right, after this dinner, we get to the next day and
- 36:38the family is going to the Plymouth Plantation, which is a seventeenth century colonial
- 36:45village where everybody is role playing people who lived in a village like that,
- 36:50and the village itself is true to seventeenth century and how they lived back in
- 36:53the day, and everybody thought this was interesting. What did you think about
- 36:58this? I mean, it was kind of boring. It was kind of
- 37:00interesting in terms of like the history and stuff like it would be kind of
- 37:04cool to see like a replica of it. But then when I heard that
- 37:06there's like people role playing like these Pilgrims and stuff, I'm like, oh,
- 37:10that's gringe. In my opinion, it's kind of grangey. But then
- 37:15they're like going around and like talking to these various play actors and stuff,
- 37:19and Cody is talking about how Joseph Smith, their prophet, has ties to
- 37:28the Pilgrims, Elizabeth how specifically, Yeah, someone named Elizabeth Howland who was
- 37:31Joseph Smith's great great grandmother. Yes, And so Cody being Cody, is
- 37:38like, oh, my religion has root, it has ancient roots, it
- 37:43has roots to I'm like, okay, not really modern actually, I mean
- 37:49very modern actually. And so they're trying to find the play actor that's Elizabeth
- 37:53Howland in this Plymouth village village or something, and they do and she's role
- 38:00playing, and he has a spirit that comes over him. He understands this
- 38:07is just an actress playing a role, and this actress probably really doesn't even
- 38:10know her own connection or the person's own connection to Joseph Smith, but Cody
- 38:19does, and he just feels like he's walking. What he says, I
- 38:21feel like I'm walking on holy ground, Like he gets a picture with this
- 38:24actress. It's so weird. Yeah, he feels like he's actually standing next
- 38:29to a living ancestor of Mormonism. And he's just like overtaken. What was
- 38:35this fake? Like was his whole reaction to this fake? Because I'm in
- 38:38I can understand feeling like it's on sacred ground if you were like actually in
- 38:43a place that was there in the seventeenth century. But like, this is
- 38:47all replicas. This is all fake stuff. These buildings are built. Are
- 38:52you sure, likeness, Yes, that's what they said. They weren't like
- 38:55from there that. Yeah, so it's like not really real. I think
- 39:01it's real for him, Like I think he's having a sentimental moment where he's
- 39:06meeting a character that's supposed to be this very important person in his religion or
- 39:10connected to the most important person in his religion. So I mean, I
- 39:14guess he's feeling emotional about it. He's a very sensitive person. Yeah,
- 39:16he's weird, very emotional person. But that character, Elizabeth Holland's character was
- 39:22with another woman and she's talking about the clothing that the brown should be wearing
- 39:29to be keeping the seventeenth century, something about wearing something all the head to
- 39:34protect the brain, to protect the brain, and Cody makes a comment saying
- 39:38something like, yeah, I'm pretty slow to anger because you know, I
- 39:43have this big family. Christine's like, yes, he has four wives,
- 39:46this is our family. And then the character says something like, oh,
- 39:51so you're not Christian in a Puritanical way, which is what a Puritan would
- 39:55think, of course, and then Christine's like, well, no, actually,
- 39:59we are Christian. She gets triggered. She totally gets triggered. She
- 40:01gets flippant, like what Janelle and Cody said on the couch, and so
- 40:07they're all talking to her like, Christine, you kind of came off a
- 40:08little hard, right, I mean to this play actor who's playing a Puritan
- 40:14point of view. Right. She's like, well, I was offended by
- 40:16that because we are Christians, okay. And this is when I was asking
- 40:21it. I was like, are they Christians? Right? And I say
- 40:23they are Christians. They believes Christ of latter Day saying Jesus Christ. Yeah,
- 40:29I mean, but are they Christians like Jehovah's witnesses or Christians because they
- 40:35believe Jovah's witnesses believe in Jesus Christ, did they? I don't know nothing
- 40:38eut those Yes, they believe in Jesus Christ. I mean Christians, like
- 40:43evangelical Christians don't consider Catholics to be Christians. That's true. Yeah, so,
- 40:47I mean, like all the Christians don't acknowledge the other Christians, but
- 40:51they're all under the banner of Christianity. So yes, I think she's right.
- 40:53They're Christians. They're just not the same kind of Christian as maybe most
- 40:58Christians, like the mainstream maybe, but there's so many Mormons on the planet.
- 41:01Jesus, maryan Joseph, who's to say for real? I think Joseph
- 41:06Smith taught that Jesus came to America really, yes, like came all the
- 41:12way yeah, like and like talked to the Native Americans then called Indians.
- 41:16Yeah how did he travel? I'll look, I'm talking out of my ass.
- 41:19You better talk, you better ask ethel and come back next week.
- 41:23I believe the Mormons believe that Jesus Christos came to America and spoke to the
- 41:32Native Americans, maybe even gave them some good scriptures and stuff. I think
- 41:37also that they believe there were elephants in North America. But then I told
- 41:43my husband that and he's like, I think there were so now I'm getting
- 41:45crazy, but maybe something but that there were packagerms and stuff in North America
- 41:52along with Jesus Christ Our Lord and save here. Oh my god. Wow,
- 41:58there's a lot of kookie cookie things in these religions, Beatrice. I
- 42:02love it. I mean, I think it's fast. I love learning about
- 42:06all of this stuff. Yeah, because there's so many synchronicities and all in
- 42:08some of them. But then there's so many crazy things, like with scientology,
- 42:13how can you believe that with your whole body and your butt? Did
- 42:17you hear Leah Remini Remini talking about when she finally got to the highest level
- 42:22in scientology where she gets to learn what it's all about. Yes, And
- 42:25they bring the book into the room and it's all the sacred ceremony. They
- 42:30open up the scientology book and she reads it and she's like, are you
- 42:32fucking kidding me? It's all a bunch of like gobbledegook, the zeno of
- 42:37it all, like I'm infested with alien parasites wild Thetan's I think they're called.
- 42:46And she like, read the science fiction because he was a science fiction
- 42:51writer. Yes, read the science fiction of it all. And she's like,
- 42:53oh my god, I've been in this religion for decades. I've paid
- 42:58all of this money because the more you advance in the religion, the more
- 43:01you pay. Yeah, and this is what this shit is. It's a
- 43:05cult. Heads up, that's what all the shit is. Oh, it's
- 43:07all dumb like that. It's all crazy. And I believe in God,
- 43:10yeah, And I would say I'm a spiritual person, but I can tell
- 43:14you, after many moons on the planet that the more I know about God
- 43:21or the divine, the less I know anything. Yeah, the less I
- 43:24could ever tell anybody with authority what it is. Right, I couldn't tell
- 43:28you anything. Yeah, take some mushrooms and find out for yourself, baby
- 43:30facts. There you go. All right, after the Plymouth Village, which
- 43:35was weird, we go to the college tour and the kids get to say
- 43:39Tufts and halved and had packed the cat have it yead And we have the
- 43:45discussion about college and whether we're going to go and the kids, the kids
- 43:51understand they don't have the privilege that most kids do, and so they're going
- 43:53to have to make it work. They're gonna have to pull themselves up by
- 43:57their own bootstraps to get to call. And again, I wonder where did
- 44:01Logan go to college and did he graduate and what does he do? Didn't
- 44:05you go to college and Utah? I'm feeling he's planning to go to un
- 44:09LVS. So maybe he did for a while and then he went back.
- 44:14I'm not sure. I thought he ended up back in Utah, but I
- 44:15think he makes good money. And now because he's like private on social media
- 44:21and everything, like you don't know nothing really, yeah, like he doesn't
- 44:23approve anybody or he's like super quiet. Well, if there's a raccoon out
- 44:28there that knows what's up with Logan, just like the general stuff, I'm
- 44:31curious to see what he does. I know he's married, yeah, damn
- 44:35us on Instagram and let us know. I want to know what's going on
- 44:37all. Right, after we do the little tour of Harvard and whatnot,
- 44:44we get to the panel discussion. Yes, a lot of people coming out
- 44:47to see these sister wives. There were a lot of people there. Well,
- 44:51this is the third season that it's on TLC, so probably a lot
- 44:54of people have heard about the Browns. Yeah, and they're coming to listen
- 44:59to the Browns. And again, Cody's a little afraid of the judgment and
- 45:02what's going to be asked, and ahead of time, Robin's yapping on about,
- 45:07well, my sexuality is not up for discussion, as if anybody was
- 45:10going to ask about that. Nobody was going to ask about that at all.
- 45:14It's very sacred to us and it's disrespectful to ask us that. And
- 45:19I'm like, well, if you're going to be on a panel, you
- 45:22need to be prepared. Four wives who are married too, I e fucking
- 45:25one guy. I mean, people are going to be curious about stuff.
- 45:28They're going to ask you some risky questions maybe, And I wonder if they
- 45:31did and TLC just edited some of those out. I wonder if Cody was
- 45:35curating some of these questions that were allowed, because if he's been doing this
- 45:40on the tell Alls in season seventeen and everything, I wonder if him and
- 45:45maybe Robin we're curating some of this shit that was being able to be filmed.
- 45:51Like I'm sure TLC filmed everything. Yeah, but Cody looked at the
- 45:54film and was like, oh, don't that one. I got video approval.
- 45:59I wonder at it out. I don't know, just my speculation of
- 46:01the questions were pretty benign and definitely very fair. The first question was,
- 46:07oh, actually, before we get to the questions, we get to Cody's
- 46:10introduction where he talks about plural celestial marriage. Yes, as we discussed,
- 46:15and he talks about how Mormonism came into being as a result of Joseph Smith
- 46:20and a white salamander. Well, he didn't mention that salman, but I'm
- 46:22gonna have to keep reminding y'all, y jaws. Joseph Smith got the revelation
- 46:27from a Saliman that happened in the nineteen thirties. And when that was thirties,
- 46:31excuse me, eighteen thirties. And when that was created, plural marriage,
- 46:36a celestial plural marriage was a tenant of this religion yep. And then
- 46:40in the eighteen nineties, Utah said no polygamy because we want to become a
- 46:45state. Yep. Although they still practice polygamy, it wasn't until nineteen ten
- 46:50when the religion itself said no more of this, and that's when the factions
- 46:53were created, one of which I would assume is aub Yes. Although I
- 46:58don't know. If aub goes all the way back to ten, I think
- 47:00they'd go back into like the nineteen thirties or some shit like that. It's
- 47:05old right, well, old right, And so there were factions that were
- 47:08created that believed that. No. Joseph Smith said, polygamy is our divine
- 47:15tenant, and so we're going to continue to do that even though you've renounced
- 47:17it. Yeah. So he gives that introduction, which was very interesting,
- 47:22but you and I, being the fat raccoons that we are, had already
- 47:24ate that trash and talked about it. We knew about Yeah. And so
- 47:32somebody asked the question about education for their kids and also what they want for
- 47:39their kids in terms of them carrying on the Mormon faith. Yeah, and
- 47:45they kind of just talked about it in the same way that they talked about
- 47:50it at the fire and nice dinner, which is that you know, we
- 47:52give our kids the choice. We don't. We obviously know that this lifestyle
- 47:57that we live we were called to live, and so that's our faith,
- 48:00that's our purpose in this life, but we don't want to put that on
- 48:04our kids. I think Christine was the main one that was saying this,
- 48:07So like, we've always made it clear that they can choose how they want
- 48:09to live. Obviously, they know that we love plural marriage, we advocate
- 48:14for it. But if they don't want to do it, then they don't
- 48:15want to do it. That's okay. I think that's a pretty balanced perspective.
- 48:21I am glad that the Browns did raise their kids that way. Yes,
- 48:23Like they just gave them the option to choose, and you know that
- 48:28they really did because you hear the children saying I don't want it. Ye
- 48:32hear Leon saying I do want it. Yeah, Like they have their own
- 48:36minds about things, and you know that that's supported by the parents, which
- 48:38is very good. Yeah. The next question that is asked is essentially Cody,
- 48:43like how do you do it? Like how are you able to handle
- 48:45four wives? Because most men would never be able to do that. And
- 48:51that's when Janelle says something like Cody is often in the doghouse. Yeah,
- 48:54he's often in trouble. But she also says it's just part of their faith
- 49:00to overcome the hardships, particularly of jealousy and like time away and feeling like
- 49:07neglected and all of those struggles that the women go through. That's a part
- 49:13of their faith to overcome, and in doing so, it's pleasing to God,
- 49:16I imagine. So it's like, again, only the women have to
- 49:20struggled in I mean, I guess the men struggle because they have to be
- 49:23in hiding and they can't be open about their faith. But I'm just like,
- 49:28so it's just the women, right, I mean, where's the struggle
- 49:30for the men? Right? How is it harder for the men? I
- 49:32mean, I guess he does have to please for women, I guess,
- 49:36and so I guess that would be difficult, But it just seems so much
- 49:38harder on the women and so much more career. This is where did you
- 49:44catch? This is where Robin then takes the microphone and says that all of
- 49:47the wives have to support the other wives. If they don't, they are
- 49:52failing in their faith. Yeah, And I'm just like, okay, fast
- 49:55forward, bitch, fast. If you're not supporting your wife, if you're
- 50:00not supporting her marriage to your husband, you're failing in your faith. Ye,
- 50:05So then explain Season twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen says explain, now,
- 50:10explain all of it, honestly, because she doesn't support any of them.
- 50:15She's just as roping it around, like she's trying to manipulate all of them
- 50:20into accepting her. But she doesn't support any of them. You know,
- 50:22she's talking shit about him. You know, she's like just putting little worms
- 50:27and code easier to try and make him hate his wives. I think it
- 50:30probably is starting as early as now. I think she's probably being way more
- 50:36subtle. We've discussed how we think she's doesn't like Christine, yeah, and
- 50:40that goes all the way back to the wedding dress shopping and Christine getting upset
- 50:45and calling them out. Yea. But I also think she's playing Mary.
- 50:49She's totally manipulating Mary. Janelle is somebody she probably can't manipulate because Janellsie is
- 50:53right through her. Yeah. But from the very beginning, she hasn't been
- 50:57very supportive of these wives. And even she's like, well, oh where
- 51:00do I put my bills? Just right on the kitchen table, Tell me
- 51:04how you're supporting these wives. She doesn't support them at all. And even
- 51:07in this episode, there was a little snippet when they were all on the
- 51:10couch and it was before the panel and Cody was asking the wives if they
- 51:15were all like nervous about him saying anything or saying the wrong thing on the
- 51:20panel, and Janelle and Christine said, yeah, we're a little nervous about
- 51:23how you might talk or like how you might be presented and everything. But
- 51:28Robin and Mary didn't object. And Janelle said, yeah, see, these
- 51:31two were the good wives, and we're the ones that are always like defiant,
- 51:37were the bad ones. So there's already a divide going on right now
- 51:40where Mary and Robin are the most obedient and the most compliant, and Janelle
- 51:46and Christine aren't. Yep, another question came up about polygamy and how they
- 51:55handle the fact that people tend to get angry about this alternative lifestyle, and
- 52:00that's when they start to talk about how the Browns are actually a great example
- 52:05of real polygamy. This is a happy, functioning family. We get along,
- 52:09our children are happy, they're going to be educated. You know,
- 52:13we love one another. We're just like you. Yeah. But then they
- 52:16draw the comparison to Warren Jeff's who again is being convicted. And this is
- 52:22where Robin is sitting at the end of the panel, and she starts making
- 52:24it all about herself, and she starts crying and she wishes he would rotten.
- 52:29Hio, I hope he rots, and Hi, I mean I do
- 52:32too. He's a piece of ship obviously, but it's just Robin with the
- 52:37flare of dramatics and like, why do you got to cry all the fight
- 52:39time? Right, it's so annoying. She's doing her level best to separate
- 52:45them from Warren Jeff's. You know, I just wish they kind of would
- 52:49have the conversation though, I know, right, I mean, yeah,
- 52:52I wish they wouldn't be hyperbolic, and I wish they wouldn't be dramatic.
- 52:57I wish they would say, you know what, this is how this type
- 53:00of a fundamentalist faction happens. Yes, you know, they have their own
- 53:05community, they are unregulated by law enforce, and this is how these abuses
- 53:10can happen. We are the antithesis of this, We are the contrast of
- 53:15this. This is how it works well, and this is why it doesn't.
- 53:17It's like you don't have to get all emotions right something that legitimately exists
- 53:23in your community, as if it doesn't, as if it's such an aberration.
- 53:27Exactly. It's like with Catholic saying that Catholic priests are all great and
- 53:30they don't do anything. But it's like there's going to be bad people,
- 53:34and every single fucking religion there's bad people in the world. It's your religion,
- 53:37and your faith is not immune to corruption and to evil. So I
- 53:44don't know why you can't just have that honest conversation of like, this is
- 53:46what they believe, we don't believe any of it. Like they kind of
- 53:50touched on it and they're like, well, we don't believe in child broods
- 53:52and we don't believe in abusing kids and women. It's like, well,
- 53:55duh, obviously you don't. It's just maybe talk about why Warren Jeff's FLDS
- 54:01bullshit. It was even created in the first pow it rose to power.
- 54:06Yeah, how it happened? Did I ever tell you? Then? I
- 54:08went to Utah, Jesus it must have been like two thousand and four,
- 54:13and their friends in Utah was visiting somebody in Kannab and I was driving up
- 54:20towards Salt Lake City and I went through this town called Colorado City, and
- 54:27the people there at the time, I think it was called Colorado City.
- 54:30I might be getting my cities mixed up. But the people at the time
- 54:31were dressed like that. Really, Yes, they were dressed with the matronly
- 54:37gowns. They had the funky hair. And I remember we were just pulling
- 54:40in for some gas and people were looking at us. And also the men
- 54:45were armed, which I mean, I'm in Texas, men are armed.
- 54:46But I was just like the way people were was like, what are you
- 54:52doing in my town? Get the fuck out of my town. It was
- 54:54the most unwelcome vibe I had ever felt in my whole life. I think
- 55:00it was Colorado City, but again I might be getting that mixed up.
- 55:04Wow. Yeah, I was just like, oh, I gotta get me
- 55:07out of here. I mean, that's kind of how Warren Jeff's town was
- 55:09and their commune was. They had a specific town and they ran it all
- 55:14and run everything like the gas stations, of schools, everything in there,
- 55:17and nobody was really allowed in it. And it was a small, obscure
- 55:21little town I think in like northern Arizona or some shit like that in Arizona.
- 55:24Yeah, it was a yourtathern Arizona or southern Utah. Like they were
- 55:28kind of getting like pushed out, you know, because they were evil.
- 55:30But something to that fect I'll look it up. Really you could really really
- 55:35feel it wasn't there a show on like TLC a long time ago, like
- 55:39I don't know, five to ten years ago, where they were talking to
- 55:43these girls that were involved in fundamentalist Mormonism and they were trying to get them
- 55:47out. Yeah, And there was this one girl who was in a little
- 55:51city like that and they were trying to break her out, like she had
- 55:53to climb a wall, yeah and run away. Do you remember that?
- 55:55Yes, I do remember that. And that was similar to the Warren Jeff's
- 56:00stuff because people were not allowed to leave, like especially the women and children
- 56:02were not allowed to leave. And there was one I think girl in the
- 56:07Jeff's cult that like escaped and she tried to like get other girls to come
- 56:14with her. And so she would like sneak in and the dead of night
- 56:15to try and kidnap some of these other girls that didn't believe, but she
- 56:21wanted to get them out of there. It's fucked up, And as soon
- 56:23as you leave, you have to go to some sort of a halfway house
- 56:25because first and foremost you don't have a proper education, you don't know how
- 56:30to live in the world, like you're some kind of a Platha side how
- 56:32to live in the world, and so you have to like figure out how
- 56:37to get a job, and you have hopefully people that can help you to
- 56:39do that. But yeah, it's like it was really terrible. God,
- 56:45it's really terrible. And I hope that's not still going on, but you
- 56:46know what, I kind of have a feeling that it is. It probably
- 56:50is. It probably is. In hiding Warren Jeff's is gone and his particular
- 56:53community is gone. Doesn't mean that these folks have stopped doing that. Of
- 56:57course, there's evil people everywhere. There's people are going to be doing awful
- 57:00things to other people. It's gross. It's super gross. So back to
- 57:05the Browns and Boston on the panel, somebody stands up and asks the kids
- 57:09about whether they're happy that they got out of Utah. Yeah, and that
- 57:15they're in Vegas now and that they've gotten away from I guess the issue of
- 57:20the law or whatever. Yeah, And I think it was like Maddie who
- 57:22spoke up and she's like, well, I don't really like Las Vegas at
- 57:27all. We all want to go back to Utah. And all the kids
- 57:29reflected that sentiment of like, leaving Utah was terrible, it was traumatic,
- 57:34it was heartbreaking, but we all want to go back there someday, and
- 57:37we want to get back there however we can. So I mean, I
- 57:43mean, the kids seemed other than Leon. The kids seemed sad and distressed.
- 57:49I mean, also, Aspen wants to stay in Las Vegas. But
- 57:52everyone kind of said that they miss Utah and that you know, it's a
- 57:57bummer in Las Vegas. And this is where the parents are kind of like
- 58:00feeling conspicuous because Okay, our kids are kind of talking about how unhappy they
- 58:02are. And this is where Robin kind of says something like, I was
- 58:06cringing when they were talking about it, because the audience is going to conflate
- 58:12their faith with Las Vegas. Yeah, as if them being unhappy in Las
- 58:15Vegas means they're unhappy in the faith, but that's not what's really bothering them.
- 58:21So she was just she was concerned that they were speaking up. Yeah,
- 58:25and Jane even said the same thing. She's like, I don't want
- 58:28them to take that out of context, because yeah, they're unhappy about being
- 58:31in Vegas, but they have a lot of things that they are happy about
- 58:35and it's like, okay, but like, don't diminish your kids unhappiness is
- 58:37they're being vulnerable, they're being real, they're being honest about how they feel.
- 58:42And none of them wanted to go to fucking Vegas, not in the
- 58:45way that you guys did anyway, exact flying by night and you're stupid fucked
- 58:50a flat tire caravan and can't tell any of their friends or there anybody else
- 58:53that they're leaving right with three days. Notice the way you handled it was
- 58:58atrocious. Yeah, begs the question like, what are you doing to take
- 59:00care of these kids? I mean, obviously they have issues. Hunter has
- 59:04been the one who has been demonstrating it the most. He's been struggling,
- 59:07But all the kids are struggling, and you're putting them on a panel and
- 59:09so allowing them to answer truthfully is the least that you can do to help
- 59:15them to express themselves. Right, But Robin saying she was cringing, I'm
- 59:19like, okay, because you're taking it personal. Well. Abuse hides in
- 59:21the darkness. Baby dysfunction hides in the darkness, and they want to present
- 59:28as well as they possibly can as this polygamous family that's doing the damn thing.
- 59:34But meanwhile, we know, now we have the advantage of living in
- 59:37twenty twenty three, looking back at twenty eleven, we know now that it
- 59:39was never okay, nope, never, It was really never good. It
- 59:44was just a facade so they could continue to have seasons and continue to talk
- 59:47about their righteous activism for polygamy. Yeah, because he goes on to like
- 59:54want to pass laws, and he goes on to even talk about maybe being
- 59:57a politician. I know, so ridiculous, but really, your your life
- 1:00:02is falling apart because Cody, you want to be monogamous, and you only
- 1:00:05want to be with Robin. From the moment you met Robin, you've only
- 1:00:07wanted to be with Robin exactly, and you destroyed your family because of it,
- 1:00:12because you couldn't be honest with yourself and your family that you met your
- 1:00:16soul. Nate, well, Beatrice, the other wives handed him to Robin,
- 1:00:22the plotter. I treat him like he's my best customer. I guess
- 1:00:29Janelle stopped doing that shit, I guess, and Christine stopped doing that shit.
- 1:00:31I think Mary would do this day still do that shit. Oh yeah,
- 1:00:35she just doesn't have the opportunity to know because he didn't want her to
- 1:00:37begin with. Nope, he did not go sell your send your banana picks
- 1:00:43to whatever. I wanted to find a real man, I keep saying,
- 1:00:45because you know, I got those Google alerts. Yeah, I got those
- 1:00:49Google alerts for the sister Wives, and most of the alerts I just disregard.
- 1:00:52But I see like alert after alert about how Christine, Janelle, and
- 1:00:57Mary are all losing weight. Yeah, and how Mary has lost a lot
- 1:01:00of way to haven't seen, and also how many filters she uses on her
- 1:01:04video and filters. People are getting upset about it, but I'm like,
- 1:01:07she's fifty three letter live. It's fine. I mean whatever, If she
- 1:01:09wants to project herself as an avatar, let her do that. Yeah,
- 1:01:14she's been through enough shit. She'd have some time to figure herself out.
- 1:01:17But also she's talking in the press about starting to think about dating again.
- 1:01:22Good. First she has to trust herself. Oh my, gonna trust myself
- 1:01:27and what it is that I want for me, but then me too.
- 1:01:31I want her to be happy. I want her cookie to be eight.
- 1:01:34I want her to go her cookie. She deserves it, you know,
- 1:01:39think his sideburns they were bugging you this episode. They were so prominent.
- 1:01:47Well, they're like they're super like edged and dagged and like slanted, and
- 1:01:52they're kind of I mean, he's always trying to do something with his hair.
- 1:01:55He always wants to look so hot with that fucking half goatee down there,
- 1:02:00little soul piece surf bro. Do you think Christine's getting her cookie at?
- 1:02:04No? What? No? Yeah? I think pleasure deserved. And
- 1:02:15you think they're having premarital sex. Oh for sure. Oh, I'm sure
- 1:02:19they're hooking up and it's so sensual and so freaky dicky six. Good for
- 1:02:22you, Christine. I love that for her. Get your back blown out.
- 1:02:25Yes. Now we need Janelle and Mary to get signed. No,
- 1:02:29I don't know that Janelle has ever lived. I know. I know Mary
- 1:02:31has not ever lived because Cody was her first husband. Yeah, but Janelle
- 1:02:37was actually married before Cody. She was so maybe. I don't know what
- 1:02:39that relationship was, like, I didn't read the book or she even addressed
- 1:02:43it. But Janelle needs a good solid man. She loved a wyoming cowboy.
- 1:02:49Are eating me? Are you kidding me? At? Cowboy wranglers,
- 1:02:54belt buckle hat with the ranch. Oh my god, girl Pantage, so
- 1:03:02we want it's on the vision Board and the dumpster Reality TV cringe dumpster.
- 1:03:08Yes, we love these women sort of, you know, I mean the
- 1:03:12one the ones that got away. I'd like Mary, actually, I always
- 1:03:15have liked Mary. You've talked so much shit about Mary, though, I'm
- 1:03:19gonna continue to do it. But like, I see a spark within her.
- 1:03:22Yeah, like, and I want her. I want her to be
- 1:03:28real. That's what I'm saying. She's still fronten on Mac Street in these
- 1:03:31in these seasons, and she does throughout the entire series, like she's still
- 1:03:35putting on a fucking show. I know it's so she doesn't tell the truth,
- 1:03:39but I think, like, I feel like she's got depth. I
- 1:03:42think that she could. I think she could do if she met somebody on
- 1:03:46a Harley Davidson motorcycle, they gave her a matching leather jackman or a woman,
- 1:03:51and they could just yes, a man or woman, properably a woman.
- 1:03:53I think that'd be great, and they could just ride off to Sturgis
- 1:03:57in the sunset. It'd be fantastic. Yes, we want that for her.
- 1:04:00I want that for her so bad. What do you want for Cody
- 1:04:02and Robin. Nothing. Nothing. I think they're going to be alone together.
- 1:04:08I think that Robin there is a chance she could leave because the money's
- 1:04:14drying up. I think there's a chance. I just can't imagine that being
- 1:04:19a happy wedded union. No, I can't imagine. I mean, I
- 1:04:24guess they were recently seen out at a farmer's market or something, so they're
- 1:04:27out and about together. They have a life, But I just can't imagine
- 1:04:31what that marriage is like with all of the children, the adult children having
- 1:04:36left them, I know, don't get to do holidays with them. We
- 1:04:41don't even think Robin was at the most recent graduation of Savannah. I guess,
- 1:04:45right, yeah, probably not. Like I just don't even know what
- 1:04:47that's I don't even know what they're doing. I don't know. And like,
- 1:04:49judging by Robin and how she looks, she looks so different nowadays than
- 1:04:55she does in these earlier seasons. She must wait recently. Yeah, and
- 1:04:59that's great, Like she still looks fucking miserable. That still looks meme you
- 1:05:03posted on the Instagram that was so fucked up and beautiful. It was like
- 1:05:13Robin's face all distorted in her hair, just full on Poodle Out Little That
- 1:05:19was so good. That was really funny. It is currently on Instagram Reality
- 1:05:24TV Grine. If you want to see somebody's projection of what so Robin might
- 1:05:29begin to look like in the future or something, Yeah, in an alternate
- 1:05:32universe, what Robin looks like now? Yeah? But think she just it's
- 1:05:36you think her happiness is being expressed through her looks. Yeah, I just
- 1:05:41can't imagine. She looks like the way that she looks to me looks like
- 1:05:46she's miserable, Like she's just trying to put on this facade to like try
- 1:05:50and be happy with herself in her life. But like, I just can't
- 1:05:54imagine that you're really this happy with a man that now you're stuck with and
- 1:06:00you have no more income. You're stuck in a big old flagstaff house with
- 1:06:03a shitload of debt from the land that the wives gave back to you guys
- 1:06:10partially the said off. Now, no, they have eight dollars in that
- 1:06:15land. I feel like it's all paid off. I don't know, you
- 1:06:18have to do your deep dive. I'll have to look. But when I
- 1:06:21looked and did that deep dive a few months ago, and the flagstaff County
- 1:06:25records. Three of those plots were not paid off. Well two of them
- 1:06:29now are. So maybe there's one that's outstanding. Maybe it's Mary's. I'm
- 1:06:31not she's the most expensive one. Yeah, but we'll still. I can't
- 1:06:34imagine that they're happy. Yeah, I don't know. I just want the
- 1:06:38og wives to be happy. Me too, and that is our dream for
- 1:06:42sister wives. Well, this was a good it was it's okay episode.
- 1:06:45It was longer, it was a little longer, but I was like,
- 1:06:48ah, give me more. That's kind of how these seasons are gonna go,
- 1:06:51Girl, give me more. They're gonna be kind of boring sometimes.
- 1:06:56Okay, Well, what you don't give me, I'm gonna make up in
- 1:06:59my head the speaking on my podcast, Like it's true. You're just warning
- 1:07:02you. If you're not giving it to me, I'm gonna figure it out
- 1:07:04for myself, my own imagination. Okay, all right, Well, is
