- 3:10Yeah, be a friend, tell a friend. So speaking
- 3:13of friends, we found out that there is a letter
- 3:17given to someone. I was given a cease and desist
- 3:34to not be able to use the band name anymore.
- 3:39So, Chad Taylor and Frank Mesey and Gene Long.
- 3:44We've seen a lot on the places as well. So, it's
- 3:47really cool to see that. We kind of had a feeling
- 3:50it was going to happen. We had heard some rumblings
- 3:52in the community, the close -knit community we
- 3:55have. Finally came to fruition. So it's really
- 3:58cool. It's a big win for the true life fans that
- 4:01know that he said ed K and the tributes so Well
- 4:12knowing him he probably will try so we'll probably
- 4:14find out pretty soon so It's uh, it's good Hopefully,
- 4:21I don't know. I don't know what it means for
- 4:22the guys rest of the guys going out and touring
- 4:24but Yeah, I'm still getting my wits about me,
- 4:32so pardon. But we wanted to talk about that real
- 4:36quick. And we also wanted to talk about the actor
- 4:40that we lost last week, Robert Duvall. We watched
- 4:46Godfather a ton. And he's so good in it. At least.
- 4:51As long as it's on HBO or Showtime or wherever
- 4:54they're playing it. It usually is. Usually we're
- 4:56doing stuff too, which is great. We'll just put
- 4:57it on and clean and do work and stuff like that.
- 5:00That's funny. You could be in another room and
- 5:02just hear a little snippet of it and know what
- 5:05movie it is. And know where it's at. Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:08Love it. And he's also in your favorite movie.
- 5:12Gone In 60 Seconds. And yeah, so he was 93? 95.
- 5:1895. Yeah. So, yeah, not bad. And as far as I
- 5:22know, he, I don't know what it was last few years,
- 5:24but, you know, not too recently he was still
- 5:27doing stuff. Did you do the series alone? Some
- 5:31dove. He did that, right? Yeah, I think so. I
- 5:33never watched it, but it's supposed to be really
- 5:36good. Yeah. There's a lot of actors I think that
- 5:39were in that. So, and was he in apocalypse now?
- 5:42Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Coppola. So, yeah, absolutely.
- 5:48Very good actor. Seemed like a really good dude.
- 5:52Well, we had Jerry Garcia on the guitarist for,
- 5:55oh, I'm sorry, no, just the actor and producer.
- 5:59I'm kidding. That is his favorite. Ben and Jerry's
- 6:02though, or Ben's or Jerry's. Anyway, yeah, we
- 6:05had him on it. He said he was just great. So
- 6:07he was really, really nice. Didn't treat anyone
- 6:09different than everyone else. Really good dude.
- 6:12So it was nice hearing that. And he was a professional
- 6:15tango dancer that I don't think a lot of people
- 6:17knew. Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty cool. That's
- 6:20cool. I still feel like I'm not coming through
- 6:23as much as I should. Okay. I guess I'm better
- 6:26now. I've been trying all these different locations
- 6:31with my mic. I also turned your headphones down
- 6:35from last week. Okay. Cool. So I could always
- 6:38turn those up if you want also, if that helps.
- 6:40And then we touched on James Van Der Beek also,
- 6:45right? We might have on the podcast we're on
- 6:49I don't know if we did on ours Yeah ours because
- 6:52we so we did miss a week. I hated doing it I
- 6:56didn't even put an episode in during that time.
- 6:57I just thinking more people would watch the other
- 7:00ones and Because for one we switched our distributor
- 7:04Mm -hmm. So this will be our first one with the
- 7:07new distributor. I really like it. It's it's
- 7:09very Aesthetically pleasing Because you do all
- 7:14that and everything. Yeah, so it looks really
- 7:17nice I like how it's formatted and I even it
- 7:20was even pretty easy to just go back and I took
- 7:23the seasons out and just kept it as the episodes
- 7:26And it gave me a chance to do that and it was
- 7:29it was really quick It looks nice. Yeah, it was
- 7:33through j -ro. He told us to check it out. So
- 7:35I started researching it and Decided to switch
- 7:38them. They made it really easy To switch over
- 7:42and we're getting they said a six months free
- 7:44thing and then we'll figure it out from there
- 7:45after the six months However, which which package
- 7:47we're doing or whatever But I really like it
- 7:50and I'll look into the ads a little bit more.
- 7:53What's wrong? It just says I'm a migrant And
- 8:02So yeah, we looked into it and I switched it
- 8:04over and they've been really cool about it emailing
- 8:06and stuff They said hey, you know, you have an
- 8:07existing one and I knew better than to put a
- 8:11new podcast on there I needed to just leave it
- 8:13alone. And so it was pretty seamless as far as
- 8:16I know it's all done and So we'll be doing a
- 8:19this episode this next week And then we'll we're
- 8:22gonna have a guest on we're doing us on Saturday
- 8:24We're gonna have a guest on tomorrow and that
- 8:26will be the week after so this will put us two
- 8:28weeks out, which is cool But yeah, we didn't
- 8:32talk about James Vanderbeek. So really sucks
- 8:35because just before Christmas I do were really
- 8:39excited. Yeah, I was so super excited. I found
- 8:41out that Here I found out that he was going to
- 8:47do signed Moxen jerseys moxen jerseys. They were
- 8:52$80 with the signature 60 without and Which we
- 9:01were sitting there going, who buys the one without
- 9:02it? It's the asshole that was just buying the
- 9:04one for 60 without the signature. And there hadn't
- 9:08been a lot of updates on James at the time. So
- 9:12I thought, OK, they have to be custom ordered
- 9:15or ordered and then shipped him signed and then
- 9:18shipped from there. And that fingers crossed,
- 9:22we'll get it. And I guess at the time they were
- 9:26ordered, the company knew. that his health wasn't
- 9:29great, but they were holding out for... I'd heard
- 9:34things that he was getting better. Yeah, which
- 9:37happens a lot with cancer. I can attest to that
- 9:40with my mom. There are times that you seem like
- 9:43you're getting better just before the end, but
- 9:46they held out hope that he would be well enough
- 9:49to sign them all and get them out. Unfortunately,
- 9:52he passed, so we will still get the jersey without
- 9:57the signature. which sucks because we had all
- 9:59these plans to frame it yeah we're gonna get
- 10:01like custom framed and everything there's really
- 10:03cool stuff in there because we have a really
- 10:05big wall where our tv is in the living room and
- 10:08it's just lacking something so we thought this
- 10:10will be it this will be our our focal point but
- 10:14unfortunately we're just getting the jersey and
- 10:17he passed which sucks i'm not worried about the
- 10:20jersey as much as that just sucks that he was
- 10:22as young as he was 53 yeah yeah six kids Wife
- 10:27yeah, yeah a lot of people stepped up for his
- 10:31go fund me. There's a lot of controversy with
- 10:34it because The Texas ranch that they were living
- 10:37on he purchased it just three weeks before he
- 10:41died or purchased And people are saying if he
- 10:46had money to purchase this ranch. Why does the
- 10:48family need money? Why don't they just sell the
- 10:51ranch and downsize and what people didn't know
- 10:54is that it was Through his name, but a trust
- 10:59of friends helped him to secure it so that She
- 11:04had a place for her and the kids when he was
- 11:07gone just to kind of have to themselves. Yeah,
- 11:10and yeah, and people don't people don't realize
- 11:14the cost of medical expenses especially when
- 11:19sir when they ditched you like they did with
- 11:21him. So you didn't have this sad card and all
- 11:24that, right? So he had no coverage. So it was
- 11:26all out of pocket expense. I mean, we learned
- 11:29just from the kid doing her follow -up from the
- 11:34mold exposure and everything, thinking that she
- 11:36could have possibly have cancer. And just the
- 11:40initial exam was $384 because they said she hadn't
- 11:45met her insurance deductible. And then the blood
- 11:48tests alone, were going to be like 800 bucks
- 11:51near a thousand dollars and and that doesn't
- 11:54even include any kind of treatment that the doctor
- 11:57yeah that's just to get the test yeah so yeah
- 12:00um people going through that and then ultimately
- 12:05losing that person that those costs are devastating
- 12:08yeah and then another actor not so well known
- 12:12because he i don't think he did a lot of movies
- 12:15he did a lot of tv his name's eric dane he just
- 12:18passed yesterday, I think. And he was only like
- 12:2352. But ALS just takes you down to nothing. That
- 12:28sucks. And same thing, if he wasn't working,
- 12:32so no insurance. Grenache, stop looking. So yeah,
- 12:37we've been losing actors left and right. Yeah.
- 12:40I mean, it's it's gonna happen anyway, just like
- 12:44musicians the next 10 years. It's you know, Everyone
- 12:48like music as we know it as we grew up for you
- 12:52know, 50 years Yeah So it's gonna happen so we'll
- 12:58be probably having some episodes of just like
- 13:01I mean there's there's a couple really big ones
- 13:03that are still with us that gonna Suck when that
- 13:06happens. But meanwhile, I think Clint Eastwood's
- 13:10plan is to outlive everyone because I think he's
- 13:15103, 105? Really? I'm not 100 % positive, but
- 13:21I think he's over 100. I don't know if he is
- 13:25100 yet. Is Dick Van Dyke still alive? Yes, he
- 13:30is. I know he's 100. Oh, that's cool. Oh, Grenache
- 13:35baby, come on. Grenache is going crazy right
- 13:38now. Oh, I take that back. Clint Eastwood is
- 13:4195. Okay, so same age as... Robert Duvall. Yeah.
- 13:47I didn't think he was 100 yet. I know Dick Van
- 13:48Dyke is and then yeah. Bob Newhart we just lost
- 13:54right and he was he hit the 100 mark didn't he?
- 13:56I think so. Isn't Feeny getting up there too?
- 13:58Feeny's getting up there too. Yeah. He still
- 14:01has this what's about him. He's I think he was
- 14:03just on like the Boy Meets World podcast over
- 14:05recently. Yeah. On Meets World. Yeah that's it.
- 14:08Oh and I lost my oldest brother too. Oh yeah.
- 14:11But he was only 75. that sucks yeah all right
- 14:15i'm sorry 70 77 yeah i have siblings that old
- 14:22yeah okay all right well anyway off of that we
- 14:28will uh start our actual themed episode so which
- 14:32all that gave me time to kind of get my wits
- 14:34about me and clear my throat a little bit grosh
- 14:36baby you're hitting the microphone so this one
- 14:39we Aptly titled cursed movies actor feuds on
- 14:43set and I have Robert do all I had just as a
- 14:46note but So did you want to go first Okay, so
- 14:52I'm doing actor feuds on set first. My first
- 14:55one is Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron the Fury
- 14:58Road feud Mad Max series. Yeah, I was when they
- 15:03like brought it back in the 2000s they had a
- 15:07lot of Fuse whatever just from I guess Theron's
- 15:14very Meticulous on set I guess It's always on
- 15:20time on time. Yeah always ready to go and I guess
- 15:23Tom Hardy was the opposite he would show up Late,
- 15:27I think one of them said he was like three hours
- 15:28late on one of them and Yeah, just it came down
- 15:35to work ethics and just the environment I guess
- 15:38It was just a crazy environment. It says that
- 15:42Theron was a former dancer and disciplined and
- 15:44punctual, and Hardy was more of a method oriented
- 15:48and frequently tardy. And when I read that, I
- 15:51was like, oh, tardy Hardy. Let me make that comment.
- 15:54Yeah, I saw that the other day. And I was like,
- 15:55oh, that's funny. That's probably too easy. That
- 15:58was probably his nickname on set. Probably. And
- 16:01probably gave him a complex, and maybe he's better
- 16:04now. Yeah, it says he arrived three hours late
- 16:08to a morning call leading Theron to angrily swear
- 16:10at him and call for a fine That's a lot that's
- 16:15a long time on a set it is because when you're
- 16:17going 16 hours anyway that puts it at 19 hours
- 16:20Think of it that way if that's what they're doing
- 16:23and she's Darren had felt so threatened and unsafe
- 16:28that she requested a female producer to be on
- 16:31set. So Denise Denavi was assigned to mediate
- 16:35attention, which that's crazy. I don't think
- 16:39I've ever heard of someone requesting to bring
- 16:41a female on set just for that. I wonder what
- 16:44she felt threatened by. I don't know. It wouldn't
- 16:47go much into detail about that. A director said
- 16:51that The real -life friction mirrored the journey
- 16:54of their characters and kind of helped with the
- 16:59tension I guess but and then I guess they finally
- 17:03reconciled. It says that Hardy admitted he was
- 17:07in over his head and Darren needed a more experienced
- 17:10partner than he was at the time and she ignores
- 17:13they were both in survival mode and has expressed
- 17:15deep respect for Hardy's talent noting that the
- 17:17the end of the shoot on civil terms and his piece
- 17:20offering Hardy gave Theron a self -portrait painting
- 17:23with an inscription that signaled their hard
- 17:25one respect and say self -portrait of who though
- 17:29him or her yeah so there's quite a few in Hollywood
- 17:38that I know of and one of them that my last one
- 17:41which I'll probably be the last of everything
- 17:44I do is probably the most My first one is the
- 17:50Omen and I did not realize how many issues there
- 17:54was. Oh, so you're doing the Cursed movie. Oh,
- 17:57I'm sorry Oh, you can the feud. I'm sorry. You're
- 18:01good Mine's all over the place too. This is kind
- 18:05of last minute. It's been busy. It has been very
- 18:07busy. Okay my feud and I Totally had forgotten
- 18:12this because it is still currently going on and
- 18:16it's Blake Lively versus Justin Baldoni now Blake
- 18:20Lively is Ryan Reynolds wife she was in that
- 18:26movie with Ben Affleck Was it where they're they're
- 18:33in Boston, I think they were robbing things yards
- 18:41district it'll come to me yes there's something
- 18:44justin baldoni i had never heard of him prior
- 18:47to this but i guess he's done a lot of tv the
- 18:51town the town that was it um so blake lively
- 18:55and justin baldoni have a current major legal
- 18:58battle going on since filming it ends with us
- 19:02in 2024 now it ends with us i've read the book
- 19:07i've read the the second book also that is titled
- 19:10It Begins With Us. And from what I read, okay,
- 19:15from what I read the book, Blake Lively wanted
- 19:18to shift the meaning of the book, like the turnaround,
- 19:25and she wanted to film it in a different way.
- 19:27It involves child abuse, abuse from a partner,
- 19:34and reconciliation, and she kind of wanted to
- 19:38romanticize the abuse part, which makes absolutely
- 19:42no sense. Lawsuits are like alleging sexual harassment
- 19:47bullying and a smear campaign Tensions began
- 19:50during production when both stars had different
- 19:53versions of the movie Blake rewrote parts of
- 19:56the script several times and Blake accused Justin
- 20:00and his production company of creating a hostile
- 20:02work environment and Executing a retaliatory
- 20:06campaign against her. So I guess during like
- 20:10press junkets they went out and she talked up
- 20:13the movie about how she kind of took over and
- 20:16rewrote things and made it the way she wanted.
- 20:19And he went out and he didn't do much for press
- 20:24junkets because he wasn't happy and product.
- 20:28She said that he engaged in disturbing and unprofessional
- 20:32behaviors such as entering her trailer while
- 20:35she was breastfeeding her baby. And then on the
- 20:39flip side other people said that she had requested
- 20:41him to come to her trailer while she was doing
- 20:44that to rewrite scenes so there's all the he
- 20:48said she said she said she said she said yeah
- 20:51um she said he improvised physical intimacy while
- 20:56shooting scenes on the flip side he said that
- 21:00she was the one that um Brought in kissing scenes
- 21:05at inappropriate times and without even telling
- 21:08him prior just as they were filming she initiated
- 21:11them She was upset when he asked how much she
- 21:16weighed due to scene where he had to lift her
- 21:18off the ground his retaliation for his his excuse
- 21:23for that I guess not retaliation his excuse for
- 21:26that was that he had a bad back I don't know
- 21:28if there was prior surgery involved, but he had
- 21:31to know how much she weighed to lift her up.
- 21:34She thought that was inappropriate. She cried
- 21:36to her husband. And then she said that he didn't
- 21:42promote her well enough at the press junkets.
- 21:44And then he countersued her for $400 million.
- 21:48And this is still. going on in court. It's against
- 21:53her and Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds called him
- 21:57to their home and physically... You sent them
- 22:02to my home? Yeah, physically threatened him.
- 22:06And then Blake started taking in all of her famous
- 22:11friends to... Threaten Justin thinking that if
- 22:16she has all these powerful friends, he'll back
- 22:18off. She brought Taylor Swift into the lawsuit
- 22:21and apparently Taylor Swift doesn't want to be
- 22:25her friend anymore because she said that she
- 22:27didn't want to be involved in it She had nothing
- 22:30to do with the movie. She hadn't even seen the
- 22:33end Filming, you know the end with it when they
- 22:37show it to like Casting crew and family and stuff.
- 22:39She had never even seen the movie not defending
- 22:42Taylor Swift, but I get it She's like why are
- 22:44you dragging me into this? But it was a money
- 22:47thing and a power thing. She brought in other
- 22:49high -profile celebrities Like Hugh Jackman and
- 22:53Emily Blunt to verify that she was a nice person,
- 22:57which that is irrelevant You have to do that
- 22:59exactly if you're not a nice person. Yeah Basically
- 23:02she didn't like his script version and didn't
- 23:04like the changes that he made and since he isn't
- 23:07as well known as her she thought she could just
- 23:09push him around and they still have a huge battle
- 23:12going on and it sucks because this movie was
- 23:17supposed to really promote him into the movie
- 23:19scene and you know getting him out of TV and
- 23:24the book was great. I will say the book was great
- 23:28and if she's She wanted to film it as, like,
- 23:33romanticizing abuse. I don't get that. I don't
- 23:37get that. Because the book was really, really
- 23:39raw. Yeah. It's fine. Yeah, it's funny. People
- 23:44romanticize, you know, serial killers, like the
- 23:46Ed Gein thing we tried getting through. Right.
- 23:48Like, why are we making him to be, like, making
- 23:51excuses for what he did? Yeah, he's a really
- 23:53nice, soft -spoken guy. Did it sound like that
- 23:56at all? It didn't sound like that at all, yeah.
- 23:58Didn't do it? Yeah, I don't know why... Charlie
- 24:00Hoonam took the character in that. Did someone
- 24:02let him do it? Yeah. Shitty director, probably.
- 24:05Just let him do it. Let him do it. Don't, yeah.
- 24:08We would have watched it otherwise. Yeah, I could
- 24:11do it. And I get it. He has an accent because
- 24:15I think he's either British or Australian. I
- 24:19get covering up the accent, but I don't get the
- 24:23soft voice. Yeah, I don't know. It's weird. Anybody
- 24:27that's still alive and familiar with the case
- 24:29said he was never like that. No, he didn't like
- 24:31that at all. It's crazy. All right. All right.
- 24:35I will start with a cursed movie. A cursed movie?
- 24:39Yep. My first is The Poltergeist Curse. Yeah.
- 24:44And it's most enduring. It has some urban legends
- 24:48with it and stuff too, but there is some tragedy,
- 24:51early deaths of four cast members as well. And
- 24:55what's going on with my headphones? Okay. There
- 25:00we go. And maybe it's cursed. Maybe it is cursed.
- 25:04So the source of the curse is that the production
- 25:07invited malevolent spirits by using real human
- 25:09skeletons as props during the iconic swimming
- 25:12pool scene. Special effects artists reportedly
- 25:16used real remains because they were cheaper than
- 25:19manufactured. Isn't that crazy? Yeah, that's
- 25:20crazy. Plastic ones. And the lead actress Jo
- 25:24Beth Williams only discovered she had been swimming
- 25:26with actual human remains years later When she
- 25:29encountered a member of the crew? Well, I mean,
- 25:32I don't think they would want to tell them because
- 25:33they wouldn't do it They would tear they would
- 25:36terrify you and yeah haunted by that for years.
- 25:39Yeah and So the key tragedies are Dominique done
- 25:44Dana Freeling just five months after the film's
- 25:47release the 22 year old actress was murdered
- 25:49by her abusive ex -boyfriend in her driveway
- 25:54The face of the franchise died at age 12 in 1988,
- 25:58four months before Poltergeist 3 was released.
- 26:01Her death was caused by cardiac arrest and septic
- 26:04shock resulting from a misdiagnosed genital bowel
- 26:09obstruction. See that in her face as she got
- 26:15older because she started getting really puffy.
- 26:18I don't know how they misdiagnosed that. This
- 26:23one has to do with some character in Poltergeist
- 26:252, died of stomach cancer at age 60 in 1985 shortly
- 26:28after completing his role, but before the film's
- 26:31release and that was Julian Beck. Will Sampson,
- 26:35Taylor the Shaman in Poltergeist 2, a real -life
- 26:38Creek medicine man who reportedly performed an
- 26:40exorcism on the set to rid of bad spirits. He
- 26:43died a year later in 1987 following a heart -lung
- 26:45transplant. and then some more incidents onset
- 26:50accident during the first film young actor oliver
- 26:52robbins was nearly strangled when the mechanical
- 26:55clown toy malfunctioned during his scene still
- 26:57steven spielberg had to intervene to save him
- 27:00and this is a more of a coincidence thing which
- 27:03i don't believe in coincidences but any scene
- 27:05from the first movie uh Super Bowl 12 poster
- 27:08is visible in Robbie's room Heather O 'Rourke
- 27:10died the day after that specific Super Bowl took
- 27:13place in 1988 in the same city San Diego where
- 27:16the game was played wow and there's a fire did
- 27:20they have a future Super Bowl poster um you know
- 27:26like we get we can see the Super Bowl Like the
- 27:30picture with the Roman numerals on it like the
- 27:32year before or two years before it comes out
- 27:33It's just something like that just hanging on
- 27:35the wall didn't have like the teams or anything
- 27:36because I wouldn't know that Yeah, and then the
- 27:42last one I have is set fire a major fire broke
- 27:46out on the set of poultice three destroying a
- 27:48Parking garage set and injuring several crew
- 27:50members So it sounds like it continued throughout
- 27:54the sequels as well. So yeah So I have the omen
- 28:01we start this over again since this was almost
- 28:05my first Segment the omen I and I I never knew
- 28:12until now all the crazy things that happen on
- 28:14that I don't know how I didn't know all this
- 28:16because I love that movie One month before filming
- 28:20Gregory Peck's son committed suicide. So he had
- 28:23already committed to the film And then just one
- 28:26month before they started he killed himself.
- 28:28So two commits, huh? As Gregory Peck flew from
- 28:33the studio to the filming location, his plane
- 28:37was struck by lightning. Another one. Then the
- 28:42executive producer Mark Neufeld's plane was also
- 28:46struck by lightning. The hotel that Neufeld and
- 28:49his wife stayed at was bombed by the Irish Republic
- 28:53Army. The crew had a small plane to do some aerial
- 28:57shots, but at the last moment the plane was given
- 29:00to another client. That plane crashed during
- 29:03takeoff and killed the entire crew on board.
- 29:07Everybody on board died. Yeah. And while filming
- 29:11the zoo sequence, the boy playing Damien got
- 29:14the bad boon so riled up that an animal handler
- 29:17was called in to help. So Yeah, do you remember
- 29:23the filming of that? That part in the zoo? They're
- 29:27all going crazy. I had no idea that was all caused
- 29:29by the little boy. So they called the animal
- 29:33handler. The Antichrist. Yeah, they called the
- 29:35animal handler in and the next day he was mauled
- 29:38by a tiger and killed. Crazy. The creepiest curse
- 29:42of the movie happened to special effects supervisor
- 29:45John Richardson. His big FX sequence was when
- 29:49a character is decapitated with a sheet of glass.
- 29:53If, if you remember that part also. We don't
- 29:56watch it that long ago. While filming his next
- 29:59movie in the Netherlands, he and his assistant
- 30:02were involved in a car crash and the assistant
- 30:06was decapitated by auto glass. It's rumored.
- 30:11flip my age. It's rumored that the accident happened
- 30:15near a road sign that said Omen, O -M -M -E -N
- 30:19in the Netherlands, 66 .6 kilometers away. And
- 30:25that's weird. It's really weird. The initial
- 30:27idea for the movie came from an advertising exec
- 30:30that told producer Harvey Bernard that a movie
- 30:33about the Antichrist would be really cool to
- 30:36make, but shouldn't be made because the devil
- 30:39wouldn't want it to be made. Crazy. I kind of
- 30:45want to rewatch it or reread it. I love that
- 30:49movie. My next first movie is The Crow and I
- 30:56have to say 1994 because they remade it for some
- 30:58reason. Don't know why. It's primarily linked
- 31:01to the tragic death of its star Brandon Lee.
- 31:04and a series of eerie mishaps that plagued the
- 31:06production. Many fans and historians connect
- 31:09these events to the Lee family curse following
- 31:11the equally mysterious death of his father, Bruce
- 31:14Lee, two decades earlier. Which I think the rumor
- 31:18is, or what makes the most sense is he took something
- 31:22for a headache and never woke up from it, I think
- 31:24is the most... The one that they said was probably
- 31:28the biggest cause of it was he didn't take stuff
- 31:31like that and probably just had a... adverse
- 31:34effect to him soon. But the death of Brandon
- 31:37Lee on March 31st, 1993, with only eight days
- 31:41of filming left. He was fatally shot during a
- 31:44scene where his character, Eric Draven, is killed
- 31:46by a gang. The technical failure in a previous
- 31:51scene used dummy rounds, real bullets with no
- 31:54gunpowder. A lead bullet tip from one of these
- 31:56rounds became lodged in the barrel of the .44
- 31:58Magnum revolver. For the death scene, the gun
- 32:01was loaded with blanks, which yeah contain open
- 32:04uh been proud of an object when actor michael
- 32:06massey fired the force of the blank propelled
- 32:09the lodge bullet tip into lee's abdomen he died
- 32:13after six hours of emergency surgery at the age
- 32:16of 28 just 17 days before he planned a wedding
- 32:20with eliza hutton the film was completed using
- 32:23body doubles including uh future john witt director
- 32:26chad stahelski god too early and early cgi and
- 32:34um luckily most of the final scenes were were
- 32:39done which is great because we have a majority
- 32:41of the movie with him in it that you can see
- 32:44and if you want to dive more into like the scenes
- 32:47that he wasn't in um there's all that on there
- 32:49as well um that's then while his was the most
- 32:53famous the set was notorious for other dangerous
- 32:55incidents uh massive hurricane or storm destroyed
- 33:00several exterior sets early on production. There
- 33:03were worker injuries. A carpenter suffered severe
- 33:06burns after his crane hit live power lines and
- 33:10equipment malfunction. A crew member excellently
- 33:12drove a screwdriver through their hand and a
- 33:14disgruntled employee reportedly drove a car into
- 33:16the production's back lot. And the Lee family
- 33:20connection is the legend of the curse often points
- 33:23to the bizarre parallels between Brandon and
- 33:24Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee died at age 32 and 73, also
- 33:28during the production of a film, Enter the Dragon
- 33:30and Game of Death, under debated medical circumstances.
- 33:34In Bruce Lee's final unfinished film, Game of
- 33:36Death, his character is accidentally shot by
- 33:38a real bullet on a movie set, the exact tragedy
- 33:41that claimed Brandon Lee after his life years
- 33:43earlier. I was reading that as I knew you were
- 33:47going to do that one. Uh, but I was reading along
- 33:50with it and apparently this curse spans like
- 33:55generations of their family. And it, it didn't
- 33:58really say where it supposedly came from or anything,
- 34:02but that's, that's crazy. Yeah. I guess recently,
- 34:06um, they just did the forever stamp for Bruce
- 34:09Lee, which is cool. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah.
- 34:12I have to get some for work. So on a brighter
- 34:13note. That'd be cool. Our room is so cold. It's
- 34:18making my nose run. I don't know if it's warmer
- 34:21on this side or sitting on the other side of
- 34:23the room, because that one was closer to the
- 34:25window, so I don't know. For sure. It's definitely
- 34:27chilly in here. I'm still waking up. Oh yeah,
- 34:30me too. Should probably take another half an
- 34:32hour or so before we did this, but apologies.
- 34:35It is what it is. At least it's an episode. I
- 34:37hated not doing an episode. Yeah. My second and
- 34:41final cursed film is a movie that no one's even
- 34:44heard of because it was never made. It was so
- 34:47cursed and the movie is called a toque This film
- 34:52was never made because it was so cursed plotline.
- 34:54The story is about an Inuit poet who travels
- 34:58to Toronto Yeah, who travels to Toronto and has
- 35:02several fish out of water experiences. So not
- 35:05it wasn't even a horror movie. So Inuits are
- 35:08um from Alaska I believe they're like an Indian
- 35:11tribe yeah like Eskimo yeah yeah um the first
- 35:16man up for the role John Belushi who then died
- 35:20of an overdose so then they passed the script
- 35:24along to Sam Kenison who then died in a car accident
- 35:28ow ow ow after that the script was passed on
- 35:33to John Candy who died from a heart attack Still
- 35:37not convinced that the story was cursed, they
- 35:40sent it on to Chris Farley, who died of an overdose.
- 35:45But before he died of an overdose, he sent the
- 35:48script over to Phil Hartman, thinking he would
- 35:51be interested in it also. Phil Hartman was killed
- 35:55by his wife. And I think, yeah, that's all I
- 36:01have on it. After that, they decided they would
- 36:04never make the movie. How crazy is that? Everybody
- 36:08connected to it died. Did you make that on it?
- 36:14No, I was gonna make a joke, but it would have
- 36:17been dark. Go ahead, make a dark joke. No, I
- 36:20was wondering if Phil Hartman gave it to his
- 36:22wife to read over, and she's like, don't do this
- 36:25movie. And he's like, no, I'm doing this movie.
- 36:27And she killed him because he was gonna do it.
- 36:29And then killed herself because it was cursed.
- 36:31Yeah. That's kind of funny. Actually, okay. Okay.
- 36:35All right. I was I wanted to do it in real time
- 36:38Probably would have been funnier. It probably
- 36:39would have been yeah. I don't know. I love Phil
- 36:42Hartman I although I wish all those all of them.
- 36:44Yeah, it sucks Yeah, I mean the John Belushi
- 36:47one that was gonna happen. Anyway, Chris Farley
- 36:49probably too, but Phil Hartman one that sucks
- 36:52now Sam Kinnison Was he drunk driving or was
- 36:56he hit by it was hit? That was the irony I think
- 37:00of it He was like really sober then. I think
- 37:05he was a year in even, maybe at that point. And
- 37:07yeah, he got killed by, I believe a drunk driver.
- 37:10So, yeah. Her right now. You're being a good
- 37:18girl. Showing her what she's supposed to do.
- 37:20Back to you, Justin. Thanks, Andrea. I thought
- 37:25about it too. All right, so my next one is probably
- 37:30the most infamous of the cursed movies cursed
- 37:34movies the Wizard of Oz And there's some toxic
- 37:39conditions urban legends Supernatural stuff Some
- 37:46things that after this movie was made they changed
- 37:48the practices of how they can do things The first
- 37:52one is probably like one of the worst and this
- 37:55is the poisoned tin man So the original Tin Man
- 37:59buddy Epson was hospitalized in critical condition
- 38:02after inhaling aluminum powder used in his makeup.
- 38:05He spent two weeks in an oxygen tent and suffered
- 38:07lifelong respiratory issues. His replacement
- 38:10Jack Haley also suffered a severe eye infection
- 38:12from the redesigned makeup paste. Burning Witch,
- 38:23Margaret Hamilton, the Wicked Witch, suffered
- 38:25second and third degree burns to her face and
- 38:28hands with a trapdoor malfunction during a fiery
- 38:30exit scene. Her green makeup, which contained
- 38:33toxic copper, had to be removed with rubbing
- 38:35alcohol while her nerves were exposed to prevent
- 38:37permanent disfigurement. Oh, God. Aspesto Snow,
- 38:43which didn't we hear about that? Was this on
- 38:44Jeopardy? Yes, it was. Because I said potato
- 38:49flakes. Yeah, no, it was asbestos. The magical
- 38:52snow and the poppy field scene was actually 100
- 38:55% pure crystallite asbestos The cast including
- 38:59Judy Garland spent hours inhaling the carcinogenic
- 39:03fibers my god, I'm usually really good at these
- 39:07Birds is hard. Oh my god, and I'm just having
- 39:10coffee. This is supposed to be helping the Exploding
- 39:14broomstick Hamilton stunt double Betty Danko
- 39:16was severely injured when a pipe designed to
- 39:19emit smoke from her broomstick exploded She suffered
- 39:22a deep leg gash and internal damage that required
- 39:24a hysterectomy. Oh my god. And I did, I never
- 39:30heard this. And then there's the treatment of
- 39:32Judy Garland. Studio executives placed 16 year
- 39:35old Garland on a strict diet of black coffee
- 39:37and cigarettes and provided pills, amphetamines
- 39:40to keep her awake and sleeping pills to help
- 39:42her rest. There's some debunked urban legends.
- 39:47Then again, I've heard Some of this is true as
- 39:50well and they probably say it's debunked because
- 39:51they don't want any more heat on this. The Hanging
- 39:54Munchkin. A persistent rumor claims a munchkin
- 39:56actor committed suicide on set and is visible
- 39:59in the background as the trio follows the yellow
- 40:01brick road. Historians have debunked this identifying
- 40:04the movie shadow as a large bird likely a crane
- 40:06or emu borrowed from the LA Zoo. An emu in a
- 40:11tree? the munchkin misbehavior while reports
- 40:21of rowdy behavior by some actors playing munchkins
- 40:23exist claims of organized sexual harassment toward
- 40:26garland have been contested by historians is
- 40:29exaggerated or false even if exaggerated that
- 40:33means there's something right and what weren't
- 40:36the munchkins like treated horribly also um I
- 40:40I heard it was a little bit but what's that other
- 40:42movie freaks where they were treated really bad
- 40:44freaks freaks was weird too I'm not sure on that
- 40:48one. I think some of them were in that as well.
- 40:51Yeah. Um, Oh my God. I couldn't imagine having
- 40:54an accident so severe that I needed a hysterectomy.
- 40:58That's just wild. Yeah. He's crazy. All right.
- 41:03What do you got? Okay. So, um, I'm back to the
- 41:07feuds, few eds, few eds. Um, and I only have
- 41:11the one left. Um, and it's tippy Hedren versus
- 41:15Alfred Hitchcock. Tippie alleged severe sexual
- 41:19harassment, obsession, and professional sabotage.
- 41:24Hitchcock discovered Hedren in 1961 when she
- 41:27was a model, and he signed her to a five -year
- 41:29contract, grooming her to be a Hitchcock blondie.
- 41:33And that's weird. That's how the movie industry
- 41:39was ran. long ago where if someone was discovered
- 41:43they were instantly signed to so many movies
- 41:47yeah it's crazy and i don't think they do that
- 41:50anymore at all i think every actor has control
- 41:52of um it depends i mean unless it's like a franchise
- 41:57movie yeah exactly um well like ralph machio
- 42:01when he did karate kid um they they had told
- 42:06him like you know there was something in the
- 42:08contract i think that said if there's sequels
- 42:10you have to be this contract binds you to stop
- 42:15anything else you're working on and do the sequel
- 42:16and stuff like that I believe so that's why he
- 42:19did one two and then why he did the performance
- 42:21he did in three because he just didn't want to
- 42:23do that anymore which he was unhappy with and
- 42:26I think now he really regrets being like that
- 42:29because there's so many great trilogies out there
- 42:33and honestly the third one is the worst one but
- 42:36in my opinion I think it's the best one for the
- 42:38villains For sure. Yeah. I mean, the Cobra Kai
- 42:42series wouldn't have gone as long as it did if
- 42:43it wasn't for the third one, but he wasn't great
- 42:47in it. And you can just tell. But yeah, so I
- 42:49think that was one of those. Yeah. So Hitchcock
- 42:53became obsessed and controlling with Tippi. At
- 42:57one point, he forced himself on her in a limo
- 43:00and demanded that she touch him. Touch him there.
- 43:07And Hitchcock forced her to shoot the attic scene
- 43:10in the birds where she was attacked by birds
- 43:13for five days. He was locked in the room. Yes.
- 43:17And she was told that they were going to be mechanical
- 43:20birds. They weren't. They were real birds. And
- 43:24it left her physically injured and psychologically
- 43:28traumatized because That whole scene, she's getting
- 43:32attacked by birds. They're pecking at her arms,
- 43:34her feet, her face. They were scratching her.
- 43:38And those screams are all real. And he insisted
- 43:43that no one on set touch her or disturbed her
- 43:49or not manipulated, but monopolized her time.
- 43:54And he grew insanely jealous over any male attention
- 43:58on her. After she rejected his advances, he installed
- 44:04a door from his office to her dressing room so
- 44:06he could walk in on her whenever he wanted to.
- 44:10After shooting her last movie with him, Marnie,
- 44:15he refused to let her out of her contract and
- 44:19prevented her from working with other directors.
- 44:22And just to take it one step further, to traumatize
- 44:26her. He gifted six -year -old Melanie Griffith
- 44:29a wax figure of her mother in a coffin. That's
- 44:34how twisted he was. And what is she doing these
- 44:37days? Melanie Griffith? No. Tippy Hedren? She
- 44:42runs a big cat sanctuary in California. What
- 44:46do cats not like or what do they like to eat?
- 44:49Birds. Yep. That'll tell you everything you need
- 44:51to know right there. All right. My last feud
- 44:58on set is probably my favorite. Awesome. Richard
- 45:02Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw and Jaws. You can see
- 45:07this in the movie. Oh, yeah. The times where
- 45:09he's like, I can't take this abuse much longer
- 45:12is totally just him being done working with Robert
- 45:16Shaw. So the onset friction, Shaw was a classically
- 45:21trained hard drinking Old pro who often viewed
- 45:24the younger talkative dry fist as a young punk
- 45:27needed to be taken down a notch I could start
- 45:30no Uh, there's the firehose incident one of their
- 45:33most ugly confrontations occurred after dry fished
- 45:35through sha's drink overboard in an attempt to
- 45:38help him stay sober Which will not help either.
- 45:41No one did that to me. I'd kill him. Yeah No,
- 45:43i'm just kidding sha retaliated by spraying dry
- 45:45fist in the face with a firehose while he was
- 45:47acting Oh that had to hurt so bad Spielberg often
- 45:53acted as a mediator, though he later admitted
- 45:55the real -life tension between the actors added
- 45:57a layer of raw, authentic energy to their characters,
- 46:00Quint and Hoopa. Hoopa! Which I think makes the
- 46:04movie, especially that the shark wasn't seen
- 46:07so much and that was great too, but just their
- 46:10friction and Roy Scheider kind of you could tell
- 46:16was uncomfortable in some moments too with it.
- 46:21I think that's one another reason the movie's
- 46:24so great is because of that. Mutual respect and
- 46:29legacy and admiring greatness despite their bickering
- 46:32Dreyfus has repeatedly stated he was blown away
- 46:35by Shaw's performance especially the USS Indianapolis
- 46:38monologue. That's one of the best scenes in any
- 46:42movie in movie history. That explanation. I love
- 46:46the part where, you know, Dreyfus has actually
- 46:49given him shit or Hooper's given him shit before
- 46:51he starts telling the story or whatever. And
- 46:53he's like, then he says that it was the Indianapolis
- 46:56and you see Dreyfus just go, you were on the
- 46:58Indianapolis and just the whole thing. It's just
- 47:01such a great scene. How he ends it, how many
- 47:04were in the water and how many can hump. I'm
- 47:07saying, yeah, I will never use a life preserver.
- 47:12You know, he'd rather have just sunk and whatever.
- 47:15dealt with it. In recent years, Dreyfus has downplayed
- 47:19the feud label, describing it as more of a competitive
- 47:22love -hate dynamic where they challenge each
- 47:24other to be better. And there's a Broadway play
- 47:29co -written by and starring Robert Shaw's son
- 47:31Ian Shaw depicts the legendary tension on the
- 47:34set of Jaws. Dreyfus expressed that he was hurt
- 47:36by his portrayal in the play, maintaining that
- 47:41the severity of their conflict was exaggerated.
- 47:46And I went a little bit deeper with this and
- 47:48found key improvising character -driven moments.
- 47:52The mocking mimicry. During an intense exchange
- 47:55on the Orca Dry Fist, used a mocking pirate voice,
- 47:59Aye, aye, sir, aye, Jim Boy. And AWC Phil's impression
- 48:03to vent his characters and his own frustration
- 48:05with Shaw's constant belittling, which I just
- 48:08spoke of, where he's like, I can't take this
- 48:10abuse much longer. That was another one. The
- 48:13knot tying challenge, Shaw's quint frequently
- 48:17pushed city hands Hooper to prove himself and
- 48:19once seen, Quint forces Hooper to tie a knot.
- 48:22Dreyfus' character threw the rope back in Shaw's
- 48:24face in a show of defiance that reflected their
- 48:26off -camera dynamic. The monologue of the Indianapolis,
- 48:31while not strictly improvised on the spot, Shaw,
- 48:34a published playwright, Completely rewrote the
- 48:36speech overnight to make it leaner and more haunting
- 48:39and the genuine on Dreyfus's face during that
- 48:42Final take was a real reaction to Shaw's masterful
- 48:44performance. It's it probably makes the movie.
- 48:46Oh, it does. Absolutely The Mary Lee ad -lib,
- 48:51which is the broken heart Mary Lee while on the
- 48:55dock a spontaneous addition meant to needle chief
- 48:58Brody's wife and establish quince abrasive persona
- 49:01and the physical provocation. Shaw often tried
- 49:04to go Dreyfus into dangerous physical stunts,
- 49:07like jumping off the orca's mast. When Dreyfus
- 49:10refused, the resulting glares and tensions were
- 49:12often captured on film as authentic character
- 49:15mistrust. And yeah, that's all I have for...
- 49:19And you know, Richard Dreyfus is hard to... Work
- 49:24with I know I was I was expecting to find more
- 49:27about him and a couple others Did you come across
- 49:31any of his family? Uh -uh issues his kids won't
- 49:35even talk to him. Oh, really? They said he was
- 49:38he was a horrible father and yeah, they yeah,
- 49:41they they're feuding with him currently They
- 49:44won't even speak with them. Yeah, I guess he's
- 49:46just a really difficult person But I thought
- 49:50I would find because I started diving in like
- 49:52director actors and stuff to us like you did
- 49:54with Hitchcock and Hedren And I was expecting
- 49:57to find like stuff with Val Kilmer and all that.
- 49:59It's it's crazy There was not much on there and
- 50:01everyone says that I that was just I'm being
- 50:05a perfectionist and They said he was always great
- 50:08with the other actors Tom Cruise has nothing
- 50:09but great things to say about him on Top Gun
- 50:12And yeah, so I was expecting to find a lot more
- 50:16of that I found other stuff but And we could
- 50:19have covered the outsiders because the director...
- 50:27Oh my God. Coppola? Trying to... No, I've had
- 50:30a loss for words. Francis Ford Coppola? No, he
- 50:32purposely... That's what I was trying to get.
- 50:34He purposely... Separated the Stoshas and the
- 50:38outsiders. Or the greasers. The greasers had
- 50:41to stay in a basement during filming. That's
- 50:44crazy. purposely did that that's why like see
- 50:49thomas howell and rob low and ralph machio and
- 50:53all them are still good friends because of it
- 50:55actually so whereas rip patrick um who was the
- 51:01main social what was his name he is he still
- 51:03with us and the main section uh that's off the
- 51:09top i can't really zane was one wasn't he no
- 51:11no i thought he was who were all the socias Diane
- 51:17Lane. She was kind of in the middle. It's the
- 51:20female. Yeah. So shh. Keep talking. I'll look
- 51:25it up. Okay. Oh, did you want to talk about the
- 51:28Jennifer Grey, Patrick Swayze thing since we
- 51:31probably won't touch on it, but. Yeah. And it
- 51:34was hard to find specifics on them, but they
- 51:38didn't get along. Leif Garrett. Leif Garrett,
- 51:43that's right. Who else? Oh, that Darren Dalton.
- 51:47Yeah. Tom Waits. Oh, that's right. Yeah. What
- 51:51a cast. Do you ever listen to any of his music?
- 51:55I don't know if I know any of his music. But
- 51:57isn't Matt always talking about him? Yeah. Okay.
- 51:59Yeah. I do it just because Matt suggested and
- 52:01Matt's usually pretty good. Yeah. What a fucking
- 52:03cast. Oh my God. Yeah. See Thomas Hell, Matt
- 52:07Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe,
- 52:09Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise. Glenwith Row, Diane
- 52:12Lane, god. Leif Garrett. Murderers Row. No, I
- 52:16mean, how many of them still have careers? Yeah,
- 52:20not Leif Garrett. No. Well, I heard he was very,
- 52:23very, very difficult. So, Emilio Estevez, I think,
- 52:27is doing more directing, but. I think so. And
- 52:29C. Thomas Howell, I believe, too. Dylan doing
- 52:31these days. I think he's still doing, I think
- 52:34he's going to be in something big coming up,
- 52:36actually. Oh, he's playing Rocky's dad, or Sylvester
- 52:40Stallone's dad in that documentary thing, whatever,
- 52:44where I am Rocky or something, I think it's called.
- 52:47Yeah, I think he's going to play his dad. That's
- 52:49what I think I just recently read. Let's see.
- 52:51You know, I had just clicked on it. So let's
- 52:54find out. I finally saw an article about Pat
- 53:00McAfee that he's going to be on Tulsa King and
- 53:04that Ari Gold, I think is it what's to make him
- 53:12the next Sylvester Stallone? Yeah, that'd be
- 53:14so awesome I can't wait to see him in it. I just
- 53:18think it's hilarious that all those people were
- 53:20like you can't believe it You he didn't take
- 53:22that four million dollar contract He was offered
- 53:24him just retired and like he's gonna in four
- 53:26or five years. He's not gonna be anything He's
- 53:30don't shit on someone cuz now he's got two middle
- 53:34fingers pointed right back at you going. Oh,
- 53:36yeah What do you think about that? Saved college
- 53:38game day. He's great in wrestling, which I'm
- 53:42still waiting for him to come back to that and
- 53:43do his six month stent. Yeah. Yeah. And now he's
- 53:49going to be in a TV hit TV show. I'm excited
- 53:52about that. I can't wait to see it. Good for
- 53:54him. Yeah, absolutely. Hunter. Just a good guy
- 53:58that just hit it big. Yeah. I mean. There's so
- 54:05many rumors about how charitable him and his
- 54:07wife are that people have no idea and yet Well,
- 54:11he's essentially self -made like he had no help
- 54:14doing what he's doing now his parents weren't
- 54:16well, it was just himself Yeah Well, I mean just
- 54:18the show after after it football like he pretty
- 54:21much invested what he made in football to what
- 54:23he's doing now Yeah, and there's there's no chance.
- 54:26He didn't know if it was gonna be successful.
- 54:27He was just him And then everyone just started
- 54:30wanting to be on his show and the way he talks
- 54:32and you know Just let's everyone else be themselves
- 54:35on it, too. He is You know and people harassed
- 54:39he has online all the time. Yeah telling her
- 54:42he's a bad husband a bad father and Bad because
- 54:46they know Exactly. Yeah, cuz they're jealous.
- 54:49Yeah, and it's and she struggled so much with
- 54:52infertility and You just, you don't need all
- 54:56that stress on top of everything else when they
- 54:59just, they just want to have a family and be
- 55:03just regular people. They just happen to be famous.
- 55:06Yeah. And there's so many people that just are
- 55:11against that, but anybody can make it. You just
- 55:15have to want it and you have to execute it. Yeah.
- 55:18Just like when we lived in San Luis Obispo, so
- 55:22many people hated Alex Madonna. but didn't know
- 55:25in the background he was paying for hospital
- 55:28bills for sick children and doing so many other
- 55:32good things that people didn't know about. But
- 55:34people hated him because he had money, you know?
- 55:37Just jealous. Especially with the people that
- 55:40did it on their own, for the most part. Because
- 55:43they're like, well, how come I can't have that?
- 55:45Why can't you? That's your problem. Just like
- 55:48the two Pauls, like I have no prob. I don't even
- 55:52say I get what people have. white people hate
- 55:54them they're just they're jealous because they
- 55:57were they did they were early on in the youtube
- 56:01thing and just stuck with it and you know if
- 56:07you hate them then why does he have millions
- 56:09and millions of views on things and all that
- 56:10then who's watching these if all these people
- 56:12hate him exactly you're watching you're watching
- 56:14it so go fuck yourself don't watch it then yeah
- 56:17yeah yeah if i don't like something i don't watch
- 56:19it you know i guess what i'd change the channel
- 56:23or i i'd stop watching the video or you don't
- 56:25read it yeah whatever yeah so i don't need to
- 56:29go i'm gonna watch it because i hate this guy
- 56:31i'm gonna waste waste my time yeah i'm gonna
- 56:35waste the one thing i cannot get back my time
- 56:37by watching something i hate and despise and
- 56:39i'm jealous of and then make horrible comment.
- 56:42Yeah. Yeah. I'll show them. Yeah, I'll show them.
- 56:44Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, he's doing a frog splash
- 56:47off the top ropes. I'll show him. Yeah. Yeah.
- 56:50Okay. And again, I'm so excited about the Gina
- 56:53Carano run the rally. And that being put on by
- 56:57Jake Paul by his company. Yeah. That's awesome.
- 57:00And Jake Paul's fiance just won gold medal in
- 57:04the Olympics. And she broke a record. So they're
- 57:06gonna get married now. Yep. Because that was
- 57:09that was stipulation on the um that she was gonna
- 57:12call american follow her dreams and he wasn't
- 57:15gonna stand in her way and then once she's once
- 57:17gold and does what she wants to do then she's
- 57:19they're gonna get married and i think she's gonna
- 57:20come move out here do something out here yeah
- 57:23so good for them yeah i mean i could see her
- 57:26doing like a um a training like having training
- 57:30facility and getting the next crop of olympians
- 57:32in there or something you know something like
- 57:34that and yeah i guess uh jake just had uh another
- 57:39surgery on his jaw. Oh, geez. He said it's because
- 57:43he wasn't supposed to be like talking and doing
- 57:45things during this time. And he's like, oops.
- 57:48Well, yeah. And he flew out to watch Ahuta in
- 57:51her Olympic run, too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And he
- 57:54cried in the stands when she won. He bawled like
- 57:56a baby. But we've seen from the TV show. He's
- 58:00very emotional. He's more of the crier. Yeah.
- 58:03Yeah. Yeah. So hey, good for him. It's cool.
- 58:05So hate him all you want. But You know what?
- 58:08You're just jealous. That's all it is. It's jealousy.
- 58:10It's because, well, he didn't come from money
- 58:12and this and that and he made themselves and
- 58:14why can't I do that? So do it. We're doing this.
- 58:20We know our numbers and stuff like that, but
- 58:22we're always just trying to get better and better
- 58:23and eventually we'll hit our stride and we're
- 58:26just going to keep working at it. Working at
- 58:28it and working at it until we get to the level
- 58:32we want to get to. and we have fun we have fun
- 58:34doing it anyway any any guests we've had like
- 58:37they're just so much fun like i those are my
- 58:40my favorite episodes when we have guests on just
- 58:42because we're learning something new and having
- 58:45fun with it and you know just it's making making
- 58:49me better as a conversationalist i would not
- 58:53today not today you know what though if we had
- 58:56a guest on for some reason been on yeah i just
- 59:00yeah we haven't done this in a couple weeks and
- 59:02we've had a lot going on and february it's just
- 59:06been oh my god next week's not going to be much
- 59:09better than oh i know because we have the pouring
- 59:13on thursday and then well then tomorrow we have
- 59:16a guest song which that'll be fun which will
- 59:18be nice because we'll have to do one next week
- 59:19yeah um and then you have the pouring and then
- 59:23we have to get ready for the event saturday for
- 59:25the wrestling event because apparently the last
- 59:28one was a big hit for my birthday and people
- 59:30like oh this that was fun it was more fun than
- 59:32i thought it was fun like yeah we just hang out
- 59:34have drinks this one's more regular time so Um,
- 59:39and this one will actually cook more because
- 59:41it's in chicago. So yeah, we're not doing something
- 59:44crazy a lot of it We can just open it up pretty
- 59:47much and present it correctly and we're good.
- 59:49Uh, but yeah, we're cooking a little actually
- 59:51might even be cooking less Because last time
- 59:54we cooked five pizzas. So like Yeah, that was
- 59:57quite a bit of time. This one's just some hot
- 59:59dogs. Yeah, but I did promise karen a cheesecake.
- 1:00:02So that's all I can't bake. I'm a terrible baker.
