- 0:16Welcome to day four of the 30 day challenge to
- 0:21maintain your badassness. This piece is called
- 0:27badassness by default. I created this three years
- 0:31ago, almost to the day. Let's jump into this.
- 0:43So, today I'm going to talk about the art of
- 0:51meditation. I think it's only right that I talk
- 1:00about this because I said The number one way
- 1:07to get into your badassness state is to keep
- 1:12a good frame of mind. And meditation is one of
- 1:17the ways that can help you do that. Before we
- 1:25get into that, I am going to do something different
- 1:33today. I'm going to read the next questions to
- 1:47our survey. Got Badassness. in day one and a
- 1:56little bit yesterday so if you don't know what
- 1:58i'm talking about go back and listen to day one
- 2:03of the 30 day challenge so the next questions
- 2:08are how long have you been single just by yourself
- 2:17doing for you only no sex no interest in others
- 2:22no flirting etc nothing like totally single not
- 2:28thinking about getting into a relationship. Question
- 2:3211. Do you live alone? Question 12. Have you
- 2:39ever lived alone? You may be wondering why that
- 2:46question is on the survey, but that's a good
- 2:50reason. That's a good question. That will determine
- 2:54your fatassness level. Following up on that,
- 3:13I'm going to give you a recap of Dave... of your
- 3:25day one homework, okay? I mean, of your day,
- 3:36week one homework. This is day four, we have
- 3:40three more days until this week is over. Day
- 3:44one, focus on your mindset. Screenshot three
- 3:51wins, compliments, write down finished work,
- 3:58screenshot them, record them, visualize them,
- 4:03so you can go back and remind yourself of the
- 4:06work you completed. Day two, boundaries. Say
- 4:14one clean no to anybody without explanation.
- 4:18You don't have to explain why you can't or don't
- 4:23want to do something for somebody. Just say no.
- 4:27Usually we say, no, I have to pick up my kids
- 4:32from daycare. Or no, I have to go to the store
- 4:41afterwards or something. Just say no. Day three,
- 4:46mindset. Unfollow or delete three accounts that
- 4:53make you feel smaller We can go further than
- 4:59that. It doesn't have to be social media. It
- 5:03can be Block on the phone on the phone do not
- 5:09deserve at a certain hour every day day four
- 5:16mindset again Curiosity rep read one article
- 5:20that challenges your view Write down three points
- 5:24that you took away from that article day five
- 5:28Boundaries time budget time block tomorrow is
- 5:34a time block tomorrow's Monday Normally people
- 5:39hate Mondays or people dread Sundays because
- 5:45the next day they have to go to work to make
- 5:49your Monday even more bearable block out some
- 5:58time just for you, especially when you get off
- 6:04work because you want to Shake off all the negativity
- 6:13And just have a little bit time for yourself.
- 6:17It can even be effective before you go to work
- 6:19Yeah, I used to get to work early sit my car
- 6:24and meditate meditate I used to listen to affirmations
- 6:33because I was dealing with a boss That was disgusting
- 6:44day six voice check catch three self -critical
- 6:51lines That you say to yourself write them down
- 6:58and say them to your best friend or someone close
- 7:02to you. So you can see how negative you are talking
- 7:10to yourself. The only way to be a badass is to
- 7:14uplift yourself. You can't talk to yourself negative.
- 7:18You will never get anywhere emotionally or physically
- 7:21for that fact. Day 7. Reflect. Rest. Take out
- 7:2610 minutes of your time and write down what most
- 7:33Made you feel most complete this week or most
- 7:37like yourself Okay meditation the art of meditation
- 7:49the basics of meditation is How much time you
- 7:53spend connecting with your mind the more time
- 7:58you spend? alone Connecting with yourself will
- 8:03make you more aware of your thoughts connect
- 8:06with your present self and increase your intuition
- 8:15When you are in your focus state, you will be
- 8:19fully present in your mind's eye This brings
- 8:28me to the basic steps of meditation step one
- 8:32seek out a comfortable place to Relax this room
- 8:43or space must be free of distractions Just really
- 8:52sitting around puts you in a better state of
- 8:58mind people who are actively seeking a way to
- 9:10better their mind by meditation or more apt to
- 9:17have a clear path moving ahead. This space must
- 9:27have soothing music or no music or the movement
- 9:35of distracting objects from your place. You can't
- 9:41have pets in your room unless they are meditating.
- 9:44I've meditated with my dog before and she knows
- 9:49the procedure so she sits quiet. You can't have
- 9:55people just sitting around, moving around because
- 9:59you need that space for yourself. Step 2. Relax.
- 10:09If you have trouble clearing your mind of noise
- 10:13and things that have distracted you, take three
- 10:18deep breaths slowly. exhale close your eyes and
- 10:26visualize soft white clouds a waterfall or a
- 10:33river anything will enable you to calm your mind
- 10:46step three benefits you have to decide what benefits
- 11:01are advantages of meditation I can think of some
- 11:16peace of mind benefits to your health increase
- 11:20of emotional awareness, happiness, decreased
- 11:25stress, and a positive outlook for an exiling
- 11:34and prosperous life. You can shift from intense
- 11:45wave to a more subtle and relaxed state, connecting
- 11:51with the universe, returning to the state of
- 11:56consciousness. Some disadvantages of meditation
- 12:01are none. There are no negative effects to meditation
- 12:11because meditation will improve and enhance your
- 12:17being and surroundings. How should I breathe?
- 12:36You may ask. Should my eyes be closed? How can
- 12:48I regain focus if the focus is interrupted? Should
- 12:54I meditate in a group or solo? Which is more
- 12:58beneficial? What is the best time to update to
- 13:04meditate? If I'm a beginner, how can I start
- 13:09to meditate and clear my mind so I can have a
- 13:15successful session? You should be able to answer
- 13:32these questions because you know what the definition
- 13:38of meditation is. How should you breathe? Take
- 13:48a deep breath in and exhale slowly. Breathe regularly.
- 13:56Once you are relaxed, you can breathe regularly.
- 13:59Your eyes can be open or closed. It's your preference.
- 14:03Whichever way enables you to relax more or better.
- 14:10You can regain focus if it's interrupted by starting
- 14:14over. Take three deep breaths. Make sure your
- 14:19surroundings are not chaotic. Group meditation?
- 14:28Yeah, that's good. Single meditation? Yeah, that's
- 14:36good. It's up to you. Try both. and see which
- 14:39one benefits you most the best time of day to
- 14:43meditate that's for you to figure out mornings
- 14:49evenings during the day any time of day will
- 14:52work just as long as you can meditate successfully
- 14:59meditation for beginners start from number one
- 15:08and you will eventually become a pro at meditation
- 15:22that's all for today today's session is short
- 15:26It's Sunday and I know you guys are getting ready
- 15:31for work Monday tomorrow and I want to give you
- 15:41your time back. Before I go I want to leave you
- 15:47with the simple three -minute sea shore meditation.
