- Lucas: Hej, Luna! Velkommen tilbage til Learn Danish with Fexingo. I dag skal vi til restauranten igen, men denne gang lærer vi at spørge om anbefalinger og betale regningen. Luna: Oh, I love that! Last time we learned how to order food. This time we get to ask what's good and then pay. Super practical. Lucas: Exactly. And speaking of practical, if you find these episodes helpful and want to support us, you can buy us a coffee at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Even a couple of dollars a month helps keep these going. But now, back to Danish. Luna: Yeah, for sure. I've definitely gotten value from these, so it's nice to know how to give back. Okay, so what's our first phrase? Lucas: First, let's learn how to ask for a recommendation. You say: Hvad vil du anbefale? That means 'What do you recommend?' Lucas: Hvad vil du anbefale. Let's break it down: Hvad means 'what', vil du means 'do you want', anbefale means 'recommend'. Lucas: Hvad vil du anbefale? Luna: Hvad vil du anbefale? Lucas: Yes, that's great! Now imagine you're at a restaurant and the waiter comes. You can say: Hvad vil du anbefale? Luna: Hvad vil du anbefale? I can see myself using that. What's next? Lucas: After you eat, it's time to ask for the bill. You say: Regningen, tak. That means 'The check, please.' Lucas: Regningen, tak. Luna: Regningen, tak. Lucas: Good! Regningen is 'the bill', and tak is 'please' or 'thanks'. So you just say Regningen, tak. Luna: Regningen, tak. Easy! And if the food is good, I can say Det smager godt, right? Lucas: Yes! Det smager godt means 'It tastes good'. Let's practice that. Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: Perfect. And one more phrase: If you want to order a set menu, you can say Jeg vil gerne have en menu. That means 'I would like a menu.' Lucas: Jeg vil gerne have en menu. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have en menu. Lucas: Yes! So now let's put it all together. Imagine you're at a restaurant. The waiter comes, and you ask: Hvad vil du anbefale? Luna: Hvad vil du anbefale? Lucas: They recommend something, you order it. Then you eat and say: Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: Then at the end: Regningen, tak. Luna: Regningen, tak. Lucas: Excellent! Let's do a quick practice dialogue. I'll be the waiter, you be the customer. Hej, velkommen. Hvad kan jeg hjælpe med? Luna: Hej! Hvad vil du anbefale? Lucas: Jeg anbefaler dagens ret. Det er laks med kartofler. Luna: Okay, jeg vil gerne have dagens ret.... Det smager godt! Lucas: Godt! Noget andet? Luna: Nej tak. Regningen, tak. Lucas: Selvfølgelig. Vær så god. Lucas: Fantastisk, Luna! Du klarede det super godt. Luna: Tak! I really feel like I could use these phrases now. Let's go over them one more time? Lucas: Sure. First: Hvad vil du anbefale? Luna: Hvad vil du anbefale? Lucas: Next: Regningen, tak. Luna: Regningen, tak. Lucas: Then: Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: And finally: Jeg vil gerne have en menu. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have en menu. Lucas: Perfect. Practice these before your next trip to a Danish restaurant, and you'll be set. Thanks for joining us today on Learn Danish with Fexingo. See you next time! Luna: Farvel og tak!
