- 0:03Speaker 1: Dog dog log u gog, she's sheen. I'm me no ma,
- 0:15Speaker 1: not my ny yo yo?
- 0:19Speaker 2: What is your child in Trada?
- 0:22Speaker 1: I am a cook, choky. What's going down before round?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Welcome to Like a Virgin, the show where we give
- 0:41Speaker 1: yesterday's pop culture today's takes. I'm Ra's domin, I'm Fran
- 0:44Speaker 1: Torodo and Fran. If I see your goddamn elf bar,
- 0:49Speaker 1: I'm going to piss all over your bed in our
- 0:52Speaker 1: fire Island house. You should, I mean, look, we at
- 0:56Speaker 1: Like a Virgin. And I did notice that you gave
- 0:58Speaker 1: yourself the only king bed in the house.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I gave myself the only king bed in the house,
- 1:02Speaker 3: you betcha. I've been doing a lot of labor to
- 1:05Speaker 3: earn that you have, and I think we are all
- 1:08Speaker 3: in agreement there. You are welcome to share the king
- 1:11Speaker 3: bed with me anytime you want, rose if you want
- 1:13Speaker 3: to come cuddles, so.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Maybe i'll maybe I'll sneak in there for a little
- 1:16Speaker 1: cuddle at some point.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm so well wait, I just have to say once again,
- 1:22Speaker 3: we at Loretta LLC do not endorse elf bars.
- 1:25Speaker 1: They are nasty and disgusting.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I'm throwing this one away and replacing it with the
- 1:28Speaker 3: three packs of camel crushes Rose will be bringing to
- 1:31Speaker 3: fire ifolate. Well, apparently camel crushes have been like outlawed
- 1:35Speaker 3: or something, which is great, but all can't buy them anymore.
- 1:38Speaker 3: But I'm pretty sure I can hunt down a pack
- 1:40Speaker 3: or two in at a bodega somewhere.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure.
- 1:43Speaker 3: They've been outlawed for that for a similar reason that
- 1:45Speaker 3: elf bars have been out lot, which is like you're
- 1:47Speaker 3: not allowed to have flavored nicotine available in certain stores
- 1:51Speaker 3: or places. I know that that was definitely specific to California,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but it sounds like New York is on that is
- 1:56Speaker 3: on that.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Also, something I've noticed is so since I moved back
- 2:00Speaker 1: to New York, I've been buying weed from the smoke
- 2:03Speaker 1: shops around me in Brooklyn because you know, like since decriminalization,
- 2:08Speaker 1: like you just like that has been a thing. And
- 2:12Speaker 1: last week, the week before before I went out of town,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I went to to smoke shops near me to try
- 2:18Speaker 1: to buy weed, and both of them didn't have it,
- 2:23Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, is like did something change?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Are they?
- 2:27Speaker 3: It's about going to a specific bodega. You have to
- 2:29Speaker 3: know a specific guy, a specific specific deal a specific.
- 2:34Speaker 1: These were my specific places. They always had they always
- 2:38Speaker 1: had weed, they had pre rolls, and now they don't. Well, no,
- 2:41Speaker 1: they know they had everything. They had pre rolls, gummies,
- 2:43Speaker 1: flower vabes, everything. That's kind of wow. So I guess
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to go back to like my old
- 2:51Speaker 1: delivery service, like drug dealers that I used to buy
- 2:54Speaker 1: weed from, which feels so like vintage.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Can I be a snob real quick? In the world
- 3:00Speaker 3: weed buying territory? I became a stoner in California. We
- 3:05Speaker 3: were spoiled, rotten baby. The weed over there is phenom on.
- 3:12Speaker 4: A different level.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I literally came back to New York trying to ditch
- 3:18Speaker 3: my weed habit, and New York made.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It so easy because the weed here is ship.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Compared to what I'm smoking in LA And that is
- 3:27Speaker 3: like on one level, it's like all the dealers, all
- 3:31Speaker 3: the places only have hybrids, and these hybrids are probably
- 3:35Speaker 3: the crumbles left over from whatever they're doing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They're making me feel groggy.
- 3:39Speaker 3: They're not giving any sort of lyft, they don't feel
- 3:42Speaker 3: like anything special or different, Like it's just not the same.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So if anybody all this to say, if you are
- 3:49Speaker 1: like a if you're like a boutique millennial weed business
- 3:52Speaker 1: and you want to send us something, yes, stuff please do.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Or if you are flying from LA and visiting New York,
- 3:58Speaker 3: you can please bring me. Oh please, I keep forgetting
- 4:02Speaker 3: that that I want to ask people coming in from
- 4:05Speaker 3: LA to do that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Actually, Laala is coming back here later this month. Oh
- 4:09Speaker 1: ask her to bring me some week. I make myself
- 4:10Speaker 1: a little mental notation that I'll absolutely forget because we
- 4:14Speaker 1: know that I have the memory of a calender, Goleander.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That's really funny, you know what I do remember, even
- 4:21Speaker 1: though it's now been a week since it came out,
- 4:24Speaker 1: was the most recent episode to us of and just
- 4:27Speaker 1: like that Virgins, I know that you're listening to this
- 4:30Speaker 1: on a Thursday and a new episode has already come out,
- 4:33Speaker 1: So this is very much old news at this point.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But this is just how our release schedule works. And
- 4:38Speaker 1: since our Patreon episode this week was the recording of
- 4:42Speaker 1: our live show, which you should definitely go listen to
- 4:44Speaker 1: patreon dot com slash like a Virgin, we thought that
- 4:49Speaker 1: we would move that and just like that discussion to
- 4:52Speaker 1: the main show just for this week and talk about
- 4:55Speaker 1: what we're thinking of the season so far, so I
- 4:58Speaker 1: don't know how you felt, but this third episode, I
- 5:02Speaker 1: thought it was fun. I thought like after the second
- 5:06Speaker 1: and third episode, I think were somewhat of a return
- 5:10Speaker 1: to form, ish of giving us a little bit more
- 5:15Speaker 1: sex and the City vibes. And also something that I
- 5:18Speaker 1: appreciated is a return to form of Carrie Bradshaw being
- 5:21Speaker 1: a horrible, annoying person.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yes, we love this, this is why we watch. I
- 5:25Speaker 3: think we forget that, this is why we watch sometimes.
- 5:28Speaker 3: And I honestly feel like, just as we said before,
- 5:33Speaker 3: like this season, especially like the kind of first moments
- 5:36Speaker 3: of the first episode of season two, but also just throughout,
- 5:39Speaker 3: they're definitely putting sex back into the city and I
- 5:41Speaker 3: appreciate that, which is why in episode three, this very prolonged,
- 5:48Speaker 3: belabored plotline about Carrie being able to read the chapter
- 5:52Speaker 3: of her memoir where Big dies is like, once again,
- 5:56Speaker 3: like I don't want to watch this, Sorry, I don't,
- 5:59Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I appreciate the writers
- 6:02Speaker 3: of the show. I appreciate what they're bringing to the show,
- 6:05Speaker 3: which is a story that is not really relevant to me,
- 6:07Speaker 3: and that's fine, and I'm sure this will be very
- 6:09Speaker 3: impactful for people who have had lovers and family members who.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Have died.
- 6:14Speaker 4: That said, Wow, you are heartless.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It's just not fun. It's so unfun.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And it's the same reason why the other three cast
- 6:22Speaker 3: members of the show, Seema, LTW and Nya Nya Nya,
- 6:29Speaker 3: who I fucking hates annoying.
- 6:31Speaker 1: She's annoying, she's so boring. Get her off the show.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm not watching that.
- 6:36Speaker 3: LTW is also extremely ancillary, Like she's fabulous, and Seema
- 6:41Speaker 3: is also fabulous, But when they are cogs in the
- 6:44Speaker 3: machine of the plot and they are like supporting the
- 6:47Speaker 3: other girls plot lines, like I am legitimately interested in that.
- 6:50Speaker 3: And I feel like it's almost problematic of me to
- 6:53Speaker 3: say that because these are the only characters of color
- 6:56Speaker 3: that are in support of the very white cast members
- 6:58Speaker 3: of the show.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But that's the original show.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Divas, Like, stop trying to spoon feed of something that
- 7:05Speaker 3: quite frankly, the writers don't are not qualified to write
- 7:10Speaker 3: on a lot of the time, Like it doesn't feel
- 7:14Speaker 3: like any sort of lived in experience for the average
- 7:18Speaker 3: sex and the city viewer. And I am not hearing
- 7:20Speaker 3: from any people who are along these kind of backgrounds
- 7:24Speaker 3: and Margins of these three characters that feel seen in
- 7:27Speaker 3: any way you know what I mean?
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I do know what you mean, and like, excuse
- 7:34Speaker 1: me for voicing this, but I don't really care about
- 7:36Speaker 1: that stuff. I care about the show being entertaining to
- 7:40Speaker 1: the show, the show being the show and it and
- 7:44Speaker 1: I disagree with you about the Carrie's grief plotline. I
- 7:48Speaker 1: actually thought that was pretty well done, and I mean
- 7:53Speaker 1: incredible acting from Sarah Jessca Parker was always like, knocks
- 7:57Speaker 1: it out of the ballpark on that. But I liked
- 8:00Speaker 1: that stuff as a vehicle to get us to something
- 8:03Speaker 1: that I've really been missing for a man, just like that,
- 8:06Speaker 1: which is Carrie being a shitty person. And this is
- 8:11Speaker 1: such a byproduct of this thing that has been talked about,
- 8:15Speaker 1: notably by Kennie Bushnell who wrote the original column that
- 8:18Speaker 1: the original show is based on, which is that the
- 8:22Speaker 1: Venn diagram of the characters and the actresses has become
- 8:25Speaker 1: a circle. And you can see this so much, especially
- 8:29Speaker 1: with Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker. And I think
- 8:32Speaker 1: with like with Cynthia Nixon, obviously, it's like about her
- 8:35Speaker 1: journey with her sexuality and her Queerness and with Sarah
- 8:38Speaker 1: Jessica Parker, it is really about sanitizing Carrie Bradshaw and
- 8:43Speaker 1: making her a much more toothless and less edgy character,
- 8:47Speaker 1: because Carrie was always a mess who made really bad decisions,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and so much of that has been sanded away to
- 8:54Speaker 1: make her a nicer person, which is not why I
- 8:57Speaker 1: watch the show. I want imperfect Carrie who made bad
- 9:01Speaker 1: decisions and smoked cigarettes. And so this episode where she
- 9:05Speaker 1: lies about having COVID to get out of doing a
- 9:09Speaker 1: professional thing and also then to get out of social engagements,
- 9:11Speaker 1: which relatable. I loved that because it felt like a
- 9:15Speaker 1: return was exactly Carrie would do. It was exactly something
- 9:19Speaker 1: Carrie would do, Yes, and I and and then it
- 9:22Speaker 1: led to her like her going shopping and buying all
- 9:24Speaker 1: those shoes, like it did I cut a glimpse of
- 9:28Speaker 1: the Carrie we know and love, and then you know,
- 9:32Speaker 1: it was just like, those moments are so brief, But
- 9:36Speaker 1: that's what keeps me watching, and I'm sure that's what
- 9:39Speaker 1: keeps a lot of people watching because as a whole,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and you know, I said last week, I'm trying to
- 9:45Speaker 1: be positive and like blah blah blah, But as a whole.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I just don't know what this show is because it's
- 9:53Speaker 1: not Sex and the City and I hate the City.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It's because it's learning how to edge into our fifties
- 10:01Speaker 1: in the city. I hate to always be referencing every outfit,
- 10:04Speaker 1: but like I do love them and they cover the
- 10:06Speaker 1: show really well. And something they've been saying a lot
- 10:09Speaker 1: recently is that, especially with all of the kid plot lines,
- 10:12Speaker 1: and just like that is really feeling like a rated
- 10:15Speaker 1: Our Modern Family, And.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Unfortunately that's very true.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and I wish the kids were just not part
- 10:25Speaker 1: of it, you know, I.
- 10:26Speaker 3: You know, Hm, Modern Family is like really insulting. I'm
- 10:31Speaker 3: not gonna lie, but I that's like really really like dirty.
- 10:35Speaker 3: That's a dirty word.
- 10:36Speaker 4: But it's a pretty act read it is.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And I will say really quickly, I wish there was
- 10:40Speaker 3: another comparison, But like, I actually don't mind a rated
- 10:44Speaker 3: Our Modern Family if the other three characters weren't so
- 10:51Speaker 3: distracting at times. And I also wouldn't mind it if
- 10:55Speaker 3: there was just more r The sex is not the forefront.
- 11:00Speaker 3: The fun and the Shenanigans and the hygiens is not
- 11:04Speaker 3: on the forefront as much, which.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Is why when we get it. It feels so delicious.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think that there's something really interesting and funny and
- 11:13Speaker 3: stupid about Chadeas and Miranda's kind of like, I think,
- 11:17Speaker 3: very realistic codependency, like when you first become queer and
- 11:23Speaker 3: you have your first like boyfriend girlfriend they friend like ooh, mama,
- 11:27Speaker 3: you attach and it's unhealthy, and like I think that
- 11:31Speaker 3: they're you know, there's a lot in that that I'm
- 11:33Speaker 3: actually like warming up to and see as like a
- 11:35Speaker 3: viable plot for the show, especially in comparison to the
- 11:39Speaker 3: really boring plots. It's just like there's so much time
- 11:42Speaker 3: taken away from our three girls to support three independent
- 11:48Speaker 3: plot lines that are so not the show, not because
- 11:54Speaker 3: the plot isn't but from the show, not because the
- 11:56Speaker 3: characters aren't for the show, but because they're not about Charlotte, Miranda,
- 12:02Speaker 3: and Carrie.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And they're certainly not about Charlotte, who again is the
- 12:06Speaker 1: most disrespected character on the show. And I'm like making
- 12:11Speaker 1: her lust after a teenager is just so bizarre, but
- 12:16Speaker 1: not even in a way where it's like actually transgressive.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm I'm just like so continuously upset by the by
- 12:26Speaker 1: making Charlotte so small when she is one of the
- 12:30Speaker 1: few people from the original series.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I will concede that if Charlotte follows through on lust
- 12:37Speaker 3: for or for this, like, is it a college student, No.
- 12:41Speaker 4: He's a high schooler, way seventeen. No, school with our daughter. Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 1: No, I thought it was like prep you will block that.
- 12:50Speaker 5: No.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I thought it was like prep school. Okay, prep school
- 12:54Speaker 3: is high school?
- 12:54Speaker 1: My god.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I thought like in prep school that they integrate with
- 12:58Speaker 3: like freshman or something. Whoa No, oh my god. Well, okay,
- 13:01Speaker 3: so that's really wrong. But also here's the thing. No, no,
- 13:05Speaker 3: but here's the thing though, it's so wrong that it's
- 13:07Speaker 3: right for me because Sex and the City and I'm
- 13:10Speaker 3: not endorsing pedophilia, but Sex and the.
- 13:12Speaker 1: City has always been wrong.
- 13:14Speaker 3: They love to go in the direction where it's like
- 13:17Speaker 3: this is a bad, bad and you know it and
- 13:19Speaker 3: I know it, and we're gonna do it anyways.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Like that to me is still Sex and the City.
- 13:23Speaker 1: That's like funny and stupid.
- 13:24Speaker 3: It's just kind of humiliating for Charlotte because it doesn't
- 13:29Speaker 3: need to be high schooler what. Yeah, And it's and
- 13:33Speaker 3: it's also so out of step with everything that's going
- 13:36Speaker 3: on in the rest of the show like you're gonna
- 13:38Speaker 3: give me Cha Pasa and all this fucking representation matters,
- 13:43Speaker 3: all this representation mattershit and then have Charlotte lusting over
- 13:46Speaker 3: a seventeen year old Like it's so that's what I
- 13:49Speaker 3: mean when I say, like I don't get what this
- 13:51Speaker 3: show is. Well to bring it to Shay to Chay,
- 13:54Speaker 3: to Shay to Shade all shake ula.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Shake cool ideas.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I really feel like now in season two, Chay has
- 14:04Speaker 3: kind of earned their spot as a bad partner, right,
- 14:09Speaker 3: Like there is always a kind of series regular, like
- 14:14Speaker 3: a kind of boyfriend or girlfriend that will like go
- 14:16Speaker 3: into the show for like three, four or five episodes
- 14:19Speaker 3: and then come out when it's dysfunctional. For me, Chay
- 14:22Speaker 3: has now been in too many episodes. But you know,
- 14:25Speaker 3: if Chay just started to be in this season, I
- 14:29Speaker 3: would I will happily allow and want to see how
- 14:32Speaker 3: this is seen out And I am excited for whatever
- 14:36Speaker 3: happens between them because it does feel interesting and real
- 14:40Speaker 3: and something that actually feels true to the show.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I don't know that I agree that Chay is a
- 14:44Speaker 1: bad partner. Well, I think the show. I think the
- 14:48Speaker 1: show wants us to think that Chay is asking these
- 14:51Speaker 1: like really ridiculous things of Miranda.
- 14:54Speaker 4: But I don't know that I agree.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Well, I don't think that Chay is asking Miranda for
- 15:01Speaker 3: some ridiculous things. I just think that Chay is very
- 15:04Speaker 3: clearly a player, and that in these in this moment
- 15:09Speaker 3: where they're now starting to have an actual relationship with
- 15:12Speaker 3: Miranda and learn how to have real intimacy in their life,
- 15:15Speaker 3: in their life and lives, they're not really in their.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Lives and they're live. They're alive, honey.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It really feels like Chay is like has earned their spot.
- 15:26Speaker 3: It's just like they're not compatible at all. Like Miranda's
- 15:29Speaker 3: needs and Chay's needs are not compatible periods. So I
- 15:33Speaker 3: don't see a future where they can work out, which
- 15:35Speaker 3: is why I'm excited to see how it all goes
- 15:37Speaker 3: to shit. I don't really love what I'm finding to
- 15:41Speaker 3: be genuine empathy for Chadas as a character, which feels
- 15:46Speaker 3: really hamphested and probably a product of sata Amira's involvement,
- 15:51Speaker 3: if I'm going to be honest, because the character was
- 15:54Speaker 3: not really well received in season one, and so now
- 15:55Speaker 3: they're trying to make this character more human and likable,
- 15:59Speaker 3: which is not working.
- 15:59Speaker 1: On me.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Sorry, it's warning that they're there. I'm happy that it's
- 16:06Speaker 3: it's better than the other three. Are you and I
- 16:09Speaker 3: as a podcast going to watch the Flash so we
- 16:13Speaker 3: can talk about it starring as.
- 16:15Speaker 4: No, I was not planning. I was not planning.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Do you have any desire to watch it just to
- 16:20Speaker 3: discuss just for the sake of discussing it, because.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Apparently I suppose, I suppose good or.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Something, and I think it's specifically something that you and
- 16:29Speaker 3: I would want to critique just because of the Azra
- 16:31Speaker 3: Miller of it all.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But I don't know. Yeah, yeah, I'm willing to see
- 16:35Speaker 1: it so that we can talk about it. I don't
- 16:38Speaker 1: know if it's worth the discussion, because what I've heard
- 16:42Speaker 1: is either people saying it's amazing, which feels like they
- 16:45Speaker 1: were paid to say that, or people saying it's suck.
- 16:49Speaker 1: It's like sucked to mid and that's kind of It
- 16:56Speaker 1: was also a huge box office flop, Oh it was.
- 17:00Speaker 1: That's kind of depressing, yes, but also it.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Was like it was the I think it made the
- 17:04Speaker 4: least money of any DC movie.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Okay, actually rejected, that's not depressing. I hope like DC
- 17:09Speaker 3: learns from this. Tyra voice learn from this anyways.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I will consider seeing it.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Speaking of things that aren't really worth discussion, you told
- 17:20Speaker 3: me that you are maybe going to watch The Bear.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I don't have any particular reason why I haven't watched
- 17:30Speaker 1: it besides just that like that when the first season
- 17:33Speaker 1: came out, like the premise was not super compelling to me,
- 17:37Speaker 1: so I just never watched it. But now as I'm
- 17:39Speaker 1: hearing more and more people talk about it, I and
- 17:41Speaker 1: you know, I love Io and that guy from Girls.
- 17:47Speaker 3: The guy from Girls is so my no spoiler, so
- 17:50Speaker 3: I've watched almost all of the second season. Now my
- 17:53Speaker 3: no spoiler kind of pitch to you is that the
- 17:57Speaker 3: guy from Girls, whatever his name is, is amazing and
- 18:01Speaker 3: gets this narrative arc that could only be built over
- 18:05Speaker 3: the course of two full seasons to get you to
- 18:08Speaker 3: a place with this character where you finally understand what
- 18:11Speaker 3: they're all about. It's so beautiful and such good TV.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Writing this show as a whole. The reason I said
- 18:18Speaker 3: it's like not really worth discussion discussing sometimes is because
- 18:21Speaker 3: the show is it's just like a good show, like
- 18:24Speaker 3: and sometimes the show that's like just good is like
- 18:26Speaker 3: not really interesting to talk about, especially when it's like
- 18:29Speaker 3: pretty much only about like heterosexual people in it in
- 18:32Speaker 3: an industry that we have nothing to do with.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But I could use the show that just like is
- 18:37Speaker 1: good that I can just kind of speed my way through.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I'm like, I am currently in the middle of.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Of binging a series. I'm in the middle of a rewatch.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I am rewatching queer as Folk the original.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Whoa wait, we need to do a Queers Folk episode
- 18:55Speaker 3: because I would love to rewatch that too.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I would. I mean, I've never seen it. I've never
- 18:58Speaker 1: seen it. You've never seen it.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Watch.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Yes, I've seen the first two episodes. Okay, so we'll
- 19:03Speaker 1: make that a project. You're gonna watch Queers Folks. I'm
- 19:05Speaker 1: rewatching it. I'm also finally going to watch the lay same.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I'm watching this to say all this to say, I
- 19:12Speaker 1: do want something like The Bear that I feel like
- 19:15Speaker 1: will be a quick watch. I it is a pretty
- 19:20Speaker 1: quick I have some I have.
- 19:21Speaker 4: Some free time this summer, you know, I need something
- 19:23Speaker 4: to do.
- 19:24Speaker 3: The show is amazing. I do not recommend a passive watch,
- 19:28Speaker 3: like don't look at your phone. It's like a really rewarding,
- 19:31Speaker 3: intentional watch.
- 19:32Speaker 1: IO is amazing.
- 19:34Speaker 4: You're saying that I am.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I am, I mean, I really am. I'm projected.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Are you practicing what you preach?
- 19:39Speaker 3: Those No, I'm projecting. IO is amazing. Jeremy ellen White
- 19:45Speaker 3: is so fine. He okay, wait, we need to bring
- 19:48Speaker 3: back our oscars. But what did we call it?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Suck on? He doesn't really do it for me? The
- 19:54Speaker 1: low dometer? Yeah, how many low? That's what we call it,
- 19:56Speaker 1: not suck suckometer. The the load ometer can can some
- 20:02Speaker 1: like enterprising virgin like create likemeter, like a micro site
- 20:07Speaker 1: with a load ometer or something like, you know, like that.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Would be so fun. That would be we would absolutely
- 20:14Speaker 3: post about that. You know, the loadometer is a very
- 20:17Speaker 3: strong for me. And I shook that you're not into it,
- 20:19Speaker 3: considering that he is pretty much a kind of he
- 20:25Speaker 3: is just kind of the poor man's Aaron Taylor Johnson. Yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 3: working class Aaron Taylor Johnson.
- 20:32Speaker 4: I'm not into it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: But speaking of loads, though, you know whose load I
- 20:35Speaker 1: need Harrison Ford's because I saw the new Indiana Jones
- 20:41Speaker 1: movie yesterday and he's years old, by the way, Yeah,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and I and I want to suck him dry until
- 20:49Speaker 1: he's the crypt keeper.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yes, I saw until he's the dried up Mummy at
- 20:54Speaker 3: the end of Temple of Doom.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 4: So here's the thing.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I don't really get that reference because I don't actually
- 20:59Speaker 1: know India Jones that well. Like I definitely am like
- 21:03Speaker 1: Haunted by the Snakes from childhood, but I have never
- 21:08Speaker 1: rewatched the movies as an adult, and I've probably only
- 21:12Speaker 1: seen one or two of them. I think I should
- 21:14Speaker 1: watch Raiders of the Lost Arc again. Maybe I'll do
- 21:18Speaker 1: that this week. That actually might be a good movie
- 21:21Speaker 1: to watch on Fire Island if it gets rainy at
- 21:23Speaker 1: some point. So, you know, but I think I was.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I felt fine going into this movie with very little
- 21:32Speaker 1: context because it's like Indiana Jones. He like has a
- 21:34Speaker 1: whip and doesn't like snakes and like likes adventures. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 1: that was all I needed to know. And then in
- 21:41Speaker 1: the first twenty minutes of the movie, it takes place
- 21:43Speaker 1: in like the original timeline of the series, like World
- 21:47Speaker 1: War two, and they see gi him to look young
- 21:50Speaker 1: and it's so effective. What and I needed his cock
- 21:56Speaker 1: and balls. I believe that.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I believe they did that for the last Ndiana Jones too,
- 22:01Speaker 3: if I'm not mistaken. This kind of cgi flashback, but
- 22:05Speaker 3: I don't really remember watching that movie, if I'm completely honest.
- 22:08Speaker 4: But in this one it looks like it looks real.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And I'm sure, I'm sure that's really helped by the
- 22:14Speaker 1: fact that like technology has progressed. And also we have
- 22:19Speaker 1: so much footage of young Harrison Ford, so it probably
- 22:22Speaker 1: made it easier. But he was so hot, and then
- 22:25Speaker 1: also he was hot when he was older too. When
- 22:27Speaker 1: they flash forward to his like current self, he the
- 22:32Speaker 1: first scene he's in, he shirtless, and I would lick
- 22:36Speaker 1: that white, gnarly hair off his chest. Well, on the lodometer,
- 22:41Speaker 1: who's scoring higher? Old Indiana Jones Are.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Young Indiana Jones? Yeng okay, I thought so, but you
- 22:47Speaker 3: can always surprise me.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got He's got a nice like eight loads
- 22:53Speaker 1: on the lotometer. I don't actually know the metrics of
- 22:56Speaker 1: how the lowdometer works.
- 22:57Speaker 3: We're going to figure it out, but that's not for
- 22:59Speaker 3: us to figure out. That's not our job. I think
- 23:01Speaker 3: it works. I think it works as needed. I haven't
- 23:04Speaker 3: used the AMC Stubs rewards membership in a while, so
- 23:07Speaker 3: Indiana Jones is exactly a movie I don't want to
- 23:10Speaker 3: pay for and therefore will be We'll go and see it.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But you you definitely should. I also, I hate to
- 23:16Speaker 1: tell you this, but I have a new film membership
- 23:20Speaker 1: service that is not AMC stubs, and it's not movie right,
- 23:25Speaker 1: you're not getting no. I I joined the Alamo Draft House.
- 23:30Speaker 1: That's good thing because I live so close to the
- 23:33Speaker 1: Alamo downtown Brooklyn, and because of that, I have seen
- 23:36Speaker 1: The Little Mermaid four times in theaters work Diva. That's
- 23:42Speaker 1: so many times. Rose.
- 23:43Speaker 3: We have so many times Rose. This episode very easily.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I feel like we say this all the time, but
- 23:51Speaker 3: this time like we mean it, mean it. This is
- 23:53Speaker 3: like a virgin hall of fame for us.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yes, so this has been a long time coming. It's
- 24:00Speaker 1: been a long time. On the Lonometer, we are finally
- 24:04Speaker 1: talking about Lady.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Gaga, which is why today's episode is probably extra long.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So you're gonna enjoy it. Okay, you're gonna send through it.
- 24:14Speaker 3: And it is that long on purpose.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's another sense. I am beyond repentense. Fame, hooker, prostitute
- 24:38Speaker 1: wench vomits our mind. But in the cultural sense, I
- 24:41Speaker 1: just speak in future tense, Judius. If me as a
- 24:44Speaker 1: fence to wear ear condom next time, what I want
- 24:48Speaker 1: to love you. Okay, what is it? Well, it's you
- 24:52Speaker 1: way from Jesus is my verse, and Judas is the demon.
- 24:59Speaker 4: A clear.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I cling to you.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Speaking those lyrics out loud is such a disorienting word, salad,
- 25:10Speaker 3: and I have to say here and now today in
- 25:13Speaker 3: our Gaga episode, it is an episode about first and
- 25:17Speaker 3: foremost slant rhymes. And this woman will stretch anything into
- 25:24Speaker 3: a rhyme if she needs to, and more often than not,
- 25:28Speaker 3: it's giving rhyme zone dot com.
- 25:30Speaker 1: You know what I mean. Yes, it's giving rhyme zone.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It's giving she only knows a certain amount of words
- 25:39Speaker 1: and it's not willing to learn anymore.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Well, I did tell you that when wait you saw
- 25:43Speaker 3: CHROMATICA two write the CHROMATICA ball, I did not see
- 25:46Speaker 3: the chromatical Okay, I did in our in my CHROMATICA
- 25:48Speaker 3: Ball recap, I did tell you that when Gaga does
- 25:51Speaker 3: her like intermittent like speaking moments, that she is giving
- 25:55Speaker 3: talk to text prediction.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I mean I think her brain is chat GPT.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think with the cocktail that she's on.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I remember vividly where I was the first time I
- 26:07Speaker 1: watched the Just Dance music video, which was my introduction
- 26:10Speaker 1: to Stephanie Germanada. And so it was when I was
- 26:16Speaker 1: a nanny for Do you know that I used to
- 26:19Speaker 1: be a nanny for Judy Gold. Have I talked about this.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yes, we have or not on the podcast now, But
- 26:23Speaker 3: I didn't. I didn't know that, and I remember you
- 26:24Speaker 3: telling me.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So famed Jewish lesbian comedian Judy Gold is the reason. Well, no,
- 26:29Speaker 1: she's not the reason why I was going to be
- 26:32Speaker 1: played a part in the story because she and her
- 26:35Speaker 1: ex wife lived in the same building. They had different
- 26:38Speaker 1: apartments in the same building. And one day, this is
- 26:41Speaker 1: very lesbian, one day the kids were in one apartment
- 26:44Speaker 1: and I really needed to get away from them, so
- 26:46Speaker 1: I went to the other apartment and and watched Just
- 26:50Speaker 1: Dance on my computer. And it was the first time
- 26:53Speaker 1: I had ever heard of this woman, Lady Gaga. Oh wow,
- 26:56Speaker 1: And you were doing it, ditching work, ditching work, leaving
- 26:59Speaker 1: children and endangering them. So I think that really makes sense.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I honestly, when you had started talking about Judy Gold
- 27:07Speaker 3: and you were like she, and I thought you were
- 27:08Speaker 3: gonna say Judy Gold discovered me, and I was like
- 27:12Speaker 3: work in a way, maybe the same way that Lady
- 27:15Speaker 3: Starlight discovered Lady Gaga.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Maybe wait, is that is that is Lady Starlight the
- 27:19Speaker 1: who's the one? Who's the girl? Oh? No, Lady Lady
- 27:22Speaker 1: morganas Lena Morgana.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Lena Morgana and Lady Starlight are two different mythological figures
- 27:28Speaker 3: in the history the historic retelling of Gaga's story.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Well there, they're both real people. But one of them's dead.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Well that I mean Lena Morgana remains to be seen.
- 27:37Speaker 3: We have not seen the remains. No, Lena Morgana is
- 27:40Speaker 3: confirmed dead. She fell off a roof. So Lena Morgana
- 27:43Speaker 3: is this? I can't believe this is how we're starting,
- 27:46Speaker 3: No talk about this is a perfect way to start
- 27:48Speaker 3: Lena Moore from the beginning, Lena Morgana was in the
- 27:52Speaker 3: same circle as Gaga when Gaga was starting out in
- 27:56Speaker 3: her career. You know the story she always tells about
- 27:58Speaker 3: how she used to drag her ass over to the
- 28:01Speaker 3: Bitter End with her keyboard to perform. Lena Morgana was
- 28:06Speaker 3: doing the same kind of thing as her. But from
- 28:09Speaker 3: all the accounts we have, Lena Morgana was the one
- 28:12Speaker 3: who was doing the cuckoo crazy costumes and stuff. But
- 28:17Speaker 3: she died falling off a roof and according to some people,
- 28:21Speaker 3: Gaga then sort of appropriated her esthetic and became the
- 28:27Speaker 3: figure we now know and maybe kilter and maybe kilter.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I'm I don't know if I actually have heard the
- 28:33Speaker 3: full tea that is kind of gaggy, but she did.
- 28:36Speaker 1: She definitely one killed her. There is like, there's no
- 28:40Speaker 1: I don't know, there's no really, there's a really iconic
- 28:45Speaker 1: I mean yeah, actually a lot of people on drugs
- 28:47Speaker 1: fall off roofs all the time. There's a really iconic
- 28:49Speaker 1: Ayisha erotica song about Lena Morgana that I do want
- 28:54Speaker 1: to play just a little bit of She murdered her
- 29:00Speaker 1: Drest in peace to Nina Morgana. Go to hell if
- 29:05Speaker 1: you did anything Gaga. All right, all right, all right,
- 29:08Speaker 1: all right, no, no, no way, you have to let
- 29:09Speaker 1: just listen to the end of the course of course
- 29:14Speaker 1: I do it. I don't know Lena Morgana had to go.
- 29:19Speaker 1: My name is Ganga? Incredible? Okay, Well, so.
- 29:23Speaker 3: What was you?
- 29:23Speaker 1: What was your like entree into the world of Gaga?
- 29:28Speaker 3: My entree I was in my kind of maybe junior
- 29:32Speaker 3: senior year of high school. I was dating my very
- 29:36Speaker 3: first boyfriend discovering that I'm into homosexuals.
- 29:44Speaker 1: And not men, just homosexuals kind of yeah, okay, not
- 29:49Speaker 1: gonna lie.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Unfortunately, that's somewhat somewhat true. Anyways, it's probably better than
- 29:54Speaker 3: being into straight men. I'm gonna oh yeah, I actually
- 29:57Speaker 3: am famously like kind of deterred and turned off by
- 30:00Speaker 3: straight dudes like a I can admire a straight guy
- 30:03Speaker 3: the way I could admire like a statue.
- 30:06Speaker 4: You don't at a museum.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You don't like porn where they're both straight men, No, like, no,
- 30:11Speaker 1: if I I only I am only into that, as
- 30:14Speaker 1: I've discussed in our porn episode. If it's like a
- 30:17Speaker 1: little if there's some power play Phoebe, Yeah no.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Not that that actually is not the narrative, but but
- 30:26Speaker 3: but you know, if there's consent between both parties and
- 30:30Speaker 3: they both are into power play. Anyways, I'm going back
- 30:33Speaker 3: to the story. Okay, I love the Rabbit Trail. Though
- 30:37Speaker 3: I was dating this guy who was had been out
- 30:39Speaker 3: longer than me. I had just come out, and he
- 30:43Speaker 3: was like.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I would. I'm not gonna say he's like he was
- 30:46Speaker 1: like out and proud, but everybody knew that he was gay.
- 30:48Speaker 1: He was making jokes about being gay.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I like it was he was the school fag. He
- 30:52Speaker 3: wasn't the school fag. He were No, he was in
- 30:56Speaker 3: a a toxic love quadrangle, gay love quadrangle that I
- 31:02Speaker 3: became enveloped in when I came out and the four
- 31:07Speaker 3: the four gays, who about right, and yes, yeah it is.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Literally I was just a little life, but like seventeen
- 31:15Speaker 3: year olds, seventeen year old gays being a littler life,
- 31:20Speaker 3: tiny life, a very small life, and okay, and.
- 31:36Speaker 1: It was in this toxic love quadrangle. None of this
- 31:38Speaker 1: I now, I'm just thinking of like a children's show
- 31:41Speaker 1: called a Littler Life. It's like The Stranger Things Kids.
- 31:46Speaker 3: It's like still really traumatic and they're all like dying
- 31:49Speaker 3: and like being sexually abusing. No, oh my god, it's
- 31:53Speaker 3: like the Babies drama, Anya would Okay, Okay, so none
- 32:04Speaker 3: of this information is relevant to the story, by the way,
- 32:06Speaker 3: love quadrangle. Anyways, he was more out and proud like
- 32:09Speaker 3: than me. And I'm just like at the I was,
- 32:12Speaker 3: as we all know on the show, living in a
- 32:13Speaker 3: cultural vacuum and not really in with the kids. I
- 32:17Speaker 3: was being like, hello, my fellow kids, kind of but
- 32:19Speaker 3: with actual my fellow kids and not being able to,
- 32:23Speaker 3: you know, tap into them. But you were wearing a pants, yes, yes,
- 32:26Speaker 3: And I remember being at a cast party and we
- 32:30Speaker 3: know the girls popped off at the cast party for
- 32:33Speaker 3: what show. I don't remember if Christy Dunlinger was there.
- 32:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna guess it was maybe The Hobbit or maybe
- 32:44Speaker 3: the Hobbit. Maybe the Hobbit.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, so Lord of the Rings was part
- 32:48Speaker 1: of your Gaga Awakens.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Maybe when we were at a cast party and someone
- 32:53Speaker 3: turned on poker Face, and I don't think it was
- 32:56Speaker 3: the first time I'd ever heard poker Face, but it
- 32:58Speaker 3: was definitely the first time ikes burienced poker Face. And
- 33:02Speaker 3: I remember my boyfriend knowing every single lyric and then
- 33:06Speaker 3: becoming something of the center of a dance circle moment.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I know he was white, by the way, and he
- 33:14Speaker 3: was probably wearing he was probably wearing blue plaid American
- 33:17Speaker 3: apparel shorts and a polo and like like leather slides,
- 33:26Speaker 3: nothing more.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Like canvas thong flip flops is what I was giving.
- 33:33Speaker 3: And he knew every single word and he was so
- 33:34Speaker 3: confident he was dancing exactly to poker Vace and he
- 33:37Speaker 3: was so embodied and so like into thought something.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Well, yeah, exactly, you thought he was doing something I did.
- 33:46Speaker 3: I did truly because like I didn't, I never experienced
- 33:49Speaker 3: Gaga phantom.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I didn't really know who Gaga was. I wasn't.
- 33:52Speaker 3: It was all out there, and I think the way
- 33:54Speaker 3: he channeled it and like the kind of self possession.
- 33:57Speaker 3: In that very moment, I was just like, oh, like
- 34:00Speaker 3: this woman is like and everyone was so buzzing. I
- 34:02Speaker 3: was like, what's going on?
- 34:04Speaker 1: And that was that Phoebe's losing her mind? Maybecause okay,
- 34:11Speaker 1: Phoebe was saying before we started recording, Phoebe was saying, like,
- 34:13Speaker 1: this is like Gaga is a religion, and this is
- 34:15Speaker 1: a great little transfertion like a religion, like a true
- 34:18Speaker 1: like cult. Yes, when I discovered Gaga, I became indoctrinated
- 34:25Speaker 1: so quickly. And I mean the early days of her career,
- 34:30Speaker 1: pre Bad Romance, which is the thing that really broke
- 34:35Speaker 1: her out and made her into the cultural juggernaut that
- 34:38Speaker 1: she had become.
- 34:40Speaker 5: I was.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Obsessed, like I consumed every possible thing I could about her.
- 34:47Speaker 1: It was the first time in my life that I
- 34:51Speaker 1: latched onto a diva in that way. I had never
- 34:54Speaker 1: experienced that before, And I do think the main reason,
- 34:59Speaker 1: besides the the fact that I was a gay weirdo,
- 35:01Speaker 1: is because I was a theater kid. And Gaga is
- 35:04Speaker 1: the patron saint of weird theater kid.
- 35:06Speaker 3: She is perhaps the most famous theater kid, the most
- 35:10Speaker 3: power the world's most powerful theater kid. That yeah, I mean,
- 35:15Speaker 3: who else I could only think of, like Kate Bush,
- 35:18Speaker 3: it's Gaga.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Gaga is a theater faggot. Well, I mean then Timore.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Were we talking about this recently? Is that when you
- 35:24Speaker 1: peel back the layers on a lot of famous people,
- 35:27Speaker 1: you discovered there just theater kid.
- 35:30Speaker 4: Yeah, not know.
- 35:31Speaker 3: But the thing about Gaga is that she is like
- 35:35Speaker 3: thea ta. She is giving what did you do to
- 35:38Speaker 3: die today? She is giving a nunciation like the way
- 35:43Speaker 3: that Gaga will put some diction on a song is
- 35:47Speaker 3: showing off the fact that.
- 35:49Speaker 1: She didn't go to Juilliard. Right, No, she went to
- 35:51Speaker 1: n Yu famously, right she I remember.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I think I remember a story that she almost went
- 35:57Speaker 3: to Juilliard and then decided to just you know, try
- 36:00Speaker 3: and make it in the street.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Maybe she said that. I don't know if she got
- 36:03Speaker 1: into Juilliard, but I don't remember a lot of people
- 36:05Speaker 1: almost went to Juliard.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, but I don't know. But she yeah,
- 36:11Speaker 3: she's giving theater. She's giving theater.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Kid.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yes, That's what I loved about her from the beginning
- 36:17Speaker 1: was that, you know, it was this whole she was
- 36:22Speaker 1: bringing taking pop music back to art. I mean, as
- 36:26Speaker 1: she would you know, later do very explicitly on art pop.
- 36:29Speaker 1: But in the beginning that first, I mean I played
- 36:33Speaker 1: the Fame to death. But then when the Fame Monster
- 36:39Speaker 1: came out, that's what radicalized me. Like I was, I
- 36:43Speaker 1: was into it before, and then the Fame Monster that's
- 36:48Speaker 1: when I became a convert. That's when I became a
- 36:52Speaker 1: supplicant at the altar.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Can you describe the what was added on with the
- 36:57Speaker 3: Fame Monster. Well, the Fame Monster is is like an
- 37:01Speaker 3: EP that she released that has oh it was an
- 37:04Speaker 3: EP and then they just mushed them together. Yes, but yes,
- 37:08Speaker 3: it's like retroactively they've been combined into one album. But
- 37:11Speaker 3: the Fame Monster was specifically that album where she was
- 37:14Speaker 3: where it had the Blonde Bob, it has bad romance
- 37:18Speaker 3: telephone Alejandro like, and that is what really broke her
- 37:23Speaker 3: out into the mainstream like Bad Romance. Like before that,
- 37:26Speaker 3: she was still a big pop cultural figure, but in
- 37:30Speaker 3: the way of like he he isn't she weird? And
- 37:34Speaker 3: then bad Romance is what it was her like global domination. Yes,
- 37:39Speaker 3: bad Romance was, and I think it has a lot
- 37:41Speaker 3: to do with her visual language and world that was
- 37:47Speaker 3: truly like first of its kind in a lot of ways.
- 37:50Speaker 3: A lot of people can can try and say, who
- 37:54Speaker 3: did Gaga before Gaga? But I really do feel like
- 37:57Speaker 3: Gaga is like a once in a generation, once in
- 37:59Speaker 3: a life time point of view, and I think that
- 38:03Speaker 3: bat Romance was that thing where it's like truly anointed,
- 38:07Speaker 3: like we need to now make you the most powerful
- 38:10Speaker 3: pop star in the world, and she.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Was, yeah, and you know she is. I think one
- 38:15Speaker 1: of the last pop stars who really put that much
- 38:19Speaker 1: effort into her visuals, into music videos specifically, because you
- 38:25Speaker 1: think about the early years of Gaga, all of her
- 38:29Speaker 1: huge songs are inextricably linked to either a really iconic
- 38:34Speaker 1: music video or a really iconic live performance or both,
- 38:38Speaker 1: like with Paparazzi that video was iconic, and also the
- 38:41Speaker 1: live performance of the VMA's like one of the great
- 38:44Speaker 1: live performances, possibly the greatest, No, maybe only edged out
- 38:50Speaker 1: by like Whitney Houston singing the Star Spangle banner or
- 38:54Speaker 1: Lady Gaga doing her Sound of Music suite at the Oscar.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I really love Beyonce's cochella performance. We don't need to
- 39:01Speaker 1: do that, We don't need to do that. Well, we're not.
- 39:03Speaker 3: The girls are not fighting today. Yeah, the girls are
- 39:05Speaker 3: not fighting. And also they have nothing to do with
- 39:07Speaker 3: each other, honestly, Like, That's what I'm saying is like
- 39:09Speaker 3: Gaga was truly in her own lane, and at the
- 39:14Speaker 3: time Katy Perry was still was like edging in right
- 39:17Speaker 3: and like and right like in terms of like pop
- 39:20Speaker 3: music at the time.
- 39:22Speaker 1: And then well and very much like pitted against each other,
- 39:27Speaker 1: like like applause versus roar, oh God moment in the
- 39:34Speaker 1: stand War Wait describe that. Well, they came out around
- 39:37Speaker 1: the same time, and they were kind of publicly battling
- 39:41Speaker 1: on Twitter. This and the better these are in the
- 39:44Speaker 1: days back when the girls used to fight on Twitter? Right, Well,
- 39:48Speaker 1: which was better? Roar applause? Applause is better? Applause is
- 39:52Speaker 1: a better song?
- 39:52Speaker 4: It is? It is.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I just I don't think I thought you would surprise me.
- 39:55Speaker 1: But yet Applause should not have been the lead single
- 39:58Speaker 1: off of Art Pop because because it's not, I don't
- 40:03Speaker 1: think it's a good representation of what that album is.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I think if Guy had been the lead single off
- 40:10Speaker 1: of Art Pop, art Pop would have handed out very differently.
- 40:34Speaker 1: What's your favorite Gaga album? Obviously? Oh no, not obviously,
- 40:40Speaker 1: it's Born this Way? Yes, that is the correct answer.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Oh wow, I thought you were gonna say The Fame
- 40:45Speaker 1: Well or The Fame Monster or whatever. The Fame I mean,
- 40:48Speaker 1: it's the correct answer that Born this Way is your
- 40:51Speaker 1: favorite album, and I do think it's her best. It
- 40:55Speaker 1: is her best album. I really the Fame Monster. Yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: and I agree, The Fame Monster is a very close
- 41:02Speaker 1: to number two for me, and on some days it
- 41:05Speaker 1: edges Born this Way out. But I do believe that
- 41:08Speaker 1: Born this Way is the most cohesive artistic product she's
- 41:16Speaker 1: ever made, and somewhat to her detriment, because I do
- 41:21Speaker 1: think that she was riding such a high off of
- 41:25Speaker 1: her breakout success that she made Born this Way and
- 41:29Speaker 1: did not really think about how it would be received,
- 41:33Speaker 1: and she leaned really hard into being kooky weirdo and
- 41:40Speaker 1: that worked out incredibly in terms of the creative output,
- 41:44Speaker 1: but it did somewhat I think alienate the people who
- 41:49Speaker 1: had latched onto her from Bad Romance. Interesting, and then
- 41:56Speaker 1: when art pop came out, that allowed those people who
- 41:59Speaker 1: had kind of moved to the fringes to then like
- 42:02Speaker 1: kind of fully check out.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Interesting. I've actually never heard it described that way, but
- 42:07Speaker 3: it does make perfect sense. I honestly, you're such a traditionalist.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I assumed you were going to say The Fame was
- 42:12Speaker 3: your favorite album.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:15Speaker 3: The thing about ar Pup and Joanne, which were like
- 42:18Speaker 3: her flop albums following flop quote unquote flop in quotations,
- 42:22Speaker 3: I would never call them that, but like albums that
- 42:25Speaker 3: came after Born this way, part of me almost feels
- 42:29Speaker 3: like those albums were also like Gaga wasn't thinking about
- 42:32Speaker 3: the audience to her detriment, you know, Like it doesn't
- 42:36Speaker 3: neither of those albums like who were those albums? For
- 42:40Speaker 3: a lot of art Pup is kind of amazing, and
- 42:42Speaker 3: I think a lot of arpup actually is tried and true.
- 42:45Speaker 3: O g Gaga, I'm a fucking weirdo, which is kind
- 42:47Speaker 3: of why I like it, But they do both those
- 42:49Speaker 3: albums didn't really feel like they were for her fans,
- 42:53Speaker 3: and so I was like, they must be for you.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I mean, the big problem with art pop was it's release.
- 43:00Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't want to rehash or relitigate it.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I actually wrote a story for Paper magazine a couple
- 43:06Speaker 1: of years ago called in Defense of art Pops. So
- 43:10Speaker 1: if you want a more articulate, like comprehensive breakdown of
- 43:18Speaker 1: why art pop actually is an incredible album and actually
- 43:22Speaker 1: was very commercially successful, then you can go read that.
- 43:26Speaker 1: But art pop is one of my favorites. Actually, I
- 43:30Speaker 1: guess we can do our Gaga album ranking or I'll
- 43:34Speaker 1: do the official like a Virgin Gaga album rank. I know,
- 43:39Speaker 1: but I want I want your input, Okay, okay, okay.
- 43:42Speaker 1: So we're saying number one is born this way? Okay, Yes,
- 43:47Speaker 1: number two the fame Monster, Yes, number three, yes art
- 43:53Speaker 1: pop mmm mmm okay. What would be number four? The fame?
- 44:03Speaker 3: Oh really, I disagree. I think the fame should go
- 44:08Speaker 3: above art pop, don't you think. I'm well, I'm okay
- 44:12Speaker 3: with that, and I'm I'm willing to move it there.
- 44:16Speaker 3: My brain would also put chromatica over art pop because
- 44:22Speaker 3: of the cohesion and because of the number of songs
- 44:25Speaker 3: I returned to versus the number of songs I returned
- 44:27Speaker 3: to on our pop. But I actually do see the
- 44:30Speaker 3: argument for our pop to be something that's stylistically more
- 44:33Speaker 3: out there.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I do think art pop and the Fame are not interchangeable,
- 44:39Speaker 1: but they're very close, interesting, and I think they kind
- 44:42Speaker 1: of It kind of depends on the gaga you're going for. Yeah,
- 44:47Speaker 1: it does, and it can kind of shift from day
- 44:49Speaker 1: to day. But so after those, then it would be
- 44:53Speaker 1: chromatica Adica. Then Cheek to Cheek Cheek to Cheek, which
- 44:58Speaker 1: is definitely better then the Star Is Born soundtrack. Oh
- 45:03Speaker 1: we're counting that, yeah, because she did produce things, so
- 45:06Speaker 1: she did it all. Sure, Yeah, and then Joanne dead Last.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I actually is the Stars Born No, no, no, chee
- 45:12Speaker 3: chek is better than Starsborne soundtrack?
- 45:14Speaker 1: One hundred percent. Wow, that is I signed off, signed,
- 45:16Speaker 1: co sign done. Yesh. I'm so happy that we agree
- 45:20Speaker 1: able to agree. Well, there's a little discreption, but like
- 45:24Speaker 1: we we agree. Okay, Well, do you want to talk
- 45:26Speaker 1: about favorite songs now? Should should we do favorite songs next?
- 45:29Speaker 3: Or should we do a top Okay, well, do you
- 45:32Speaker 3: have like a top five Gaga songs, Top ten Gaga
- 45:36Speaker 3: song I have top ten.
- 45:37Speaker 1: They're not in order, but these are just my top
- 45:40Speaker 1: ten and I can say I can say which one is,
- 45:43Speaker 1: like jokingly my favorite, and then which one is legitimately
- 45:46Speaker 1: my favorite, and.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Maybe give us like a not a not I know
- 45:50Speaker 3: you're not giving a ranking, but like there's a few
- 45:52Speaker 3: at the top. Yeah, I want to hear the ones
- 45:54Speaker 3: at the top. Okay, so legitimately my favorite. Lady got
- 46:00Speaker 3: song all the time, and this is not like the joke.
- 46:02Speaker 3: One that I say, which still is on the list
- 46:05Speaker 3: is Dance in the Dark.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Oh oh, okay okay. And then the one that I
- 46:12Speaker 1: kind of jokingly say is my favorite is a nothing else.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I can say nothing, but it still slaps. And I
- 46:19Speaker 1: love the music video where she's on the Vespa. It's
- 46:22Speaker 1: like iconic Gaga with the hairbo It's like the most
- 46:25Speaker 1: Italian X she's ever been.
- 46:28Speaker 3: It is I will say my top two as we
- 46:32Speaker 3: bop around, I will I would definitely say you and
- 46:38Speaker 3: I is probably I'm pretty gosh darn sure.
- 46:45Speaker 1: My favorite or second favorite. Muscle cars drove a truck
- 46:50Speaker 1: right through.
- 46:50Speaker 3: My heart and I really need you to hold space
- 46:57Speaker 3: for my other answer, for my other number one favorite, because.
- 47:01Speaker 1: You know I'm not gonna be happy about it.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Okay, my other favorite, which I would say easily can
- 47:09Speaker 3: be in the number one spot and I don't. And
- 47:12Speaker 3: when I say this, I don't think it's Lady Gaga's
- 47:16Speaker 3: best song, Like critically, it is a song that means
- 47:20Speaker 3: more to me than the rest of her discographield and
- 47:23Speaker 3: it is stupid love.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Oh my god, the face rend was just made like
- 47:29Speaker 1: I told her, like I was coming out to her as,
- 47:32Speaker 1: oh my god, you're having Oh my god, I'm so sorry.
- 47:35Speaker 1: She looks pained. Oh god, I'm not. I'm not mad.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I'm just disappointed that I don't know I actually write. Yes,
- 47:50Speaker 1: I can't describe it. I really don't.
- 47:53Speaker 3: And let me tell you. I decided this like like
- 47:57Speaker 3: within a few weeks of the song coming out. But
- 47:59Speaker 3: then I was like, you know, this is kind of
- 48:01Speaker 3: a crazy album. Maybe it won't really stick you put
- 48:05Speaker 3: I put it on like black, like just a few
- 48:07Speaker 3: days ago, and I was like, oh my got like
- 48:10Speaker 3: full body like and it just it brings me to
- 48:13Speaker 3: a specific point in.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Time, the pandemic. Yes it does.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I was living alone, I had literally no joy, no
- 48:21Speaker 3: friends in my life. I had nothing to do and
- 48:23Speaker 3: you missed that? Yes, no, and then no, it's like
- 48:27Speaker 3: and stupid love? Was this this like bright light from Heaven?
- 48:32Speaker 3: That just like a complete dopamine boost. And I know
- 48:36Speaker 3: it's like not like structurally her best song whatever, it
- 48:40Speaker 3: is one hundred percent my favorite song next to you
- 48:44Speaker 3: and I.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Okay, all right, well I thank you really did hold
- 48:48Speaker 1: space for that. Thank you? Thank you so the rest
- 48:50Speaker 1: of my top ten yes, yes, speechless. Also on my
- 48:54Speaker 1: top ten Summer Boy. Hmmm, I clicked into Summer Boy
- 48:58Speaker 1: because of you. I feel a lahah and you and
- 49:02Speaker 1: I okay, Papa Razzi, Oh you're reading these like nominations
- 49:07Speaker 1: that an awards.
- 49:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Fashion of His Love also a very slept on song.
- 49:14Speaker 1: We have really queened out together while listening.
- 49:17Speaker 3: To I will say Fashion of His Love is definitely
- 49:19Speaker 3: maybe my number two number three spot.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Venus Venus and Marry the Night, Marry the Night? Is
- 49:28Speaker 1: Mary the Night? On my top?
- 49:31Speaker 7: Is it?
- 49:33Speaker 1: The others on my top are telephone, government hooker for sure,
- 49:41Speaker 1: my god, government hooker is no on my list.
- 49:43Speaker 3: You can't no take backs, no takesies, bacsies, no takes
- 49:46Speaker 3: these baxies Roses shook.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Okay, Judas It's number eleven is Judas on yours? Did
- 49:52Speaker 1: you say that Judas is Judas is definitely on my
- 49:54Speaker 1: top fashion? Fashion?
- 49:59Speaker 3: I'm i wanna say and again, not because I think
- 50:02Speaker 3: it's like one of Gaga's best songs. I'm saying my
- 50:04Speaker 3: fate went top ten favor writ Gaga song.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You know she has two songs called fashion. What Yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 1: there's a song that is was like a a bonus
- 50:15Speaker 1: track on the Fame or maybe but it was used
- 50:18Speaker 1: in It's actually in an episode of Ugly Betty. It's
- 50:21Speaker 1: the episode Bad Amanda where they're where Betty and Amanda
- 50:25Speaker 1: are doing this the like digital story where they're trying
- 50:28Speaker 1: to like do stuff without spending money. Oh, I love
- 50:32Speaker 1: that episode. There's a Gaga song called fashion that goes
- 50:34Speaker 1: fashion put it all on May. Don't you want to
- 50:37Speaker 1: see these clothes on Spotify? Or is it like one
- 50:39Speaker 1: of those Erasis songs. It might not be on Spotify.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I actually think it's only on YouTube. What yeah?
- 50:45Speaker 2: Wait?
- 50:46Speaker 1: What where if there is there are there Gaga like
- 50:51Speaker 1: unrecorded songs? Yeah, like there's lots of them. Wait, can
- 50:53Speaker 1: you give me a little. Do you know it more
- 50:55Speaker 1: about that? I actually don't. I mean Brooklyn Knights is
- 50:58Speaker 1: the most famous one. I mean just Disco Heaven, Oh
- 51:02Speaker 1: my god, I've never heard what Disco Heaven is like
- 51:05Speaker 1: a B side. It is on the Fame Monster proper
- 51:07Speaker 1: and I love Disco Heaven. Yeah, there's a there's a
- 51:11Speaker 1: bunch of She doesn't have like as much unreleased music
- 51:15Speaker 1: assay Lona del Ray, but there there's a bit of
- 51:18Speaker 1: it out there.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Okay, wow, I mean I have heard Christmas Tree well
- 51:23Speaker 3: that is oh wait, that is on Spotify. Yeah, unfortunately,
- 51:27Speaker 3: are you finished with your I think Mary the Night
- 51:30Speaker 3: is also my top I don't know. I think that's
- 51:32Speaker 3: nine total, but that's all I have.
- 51:34Speaker 1: What's your favorite music video?
- 51:41Speaker 3: Hmmm, yeah, it's Telephone. It's Telephone. I'm trying to guess yours.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Is it?
- 51:53Speaker 1: I actually don't know. It's a Lejandro.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Oh, I was gonna because there's a Judas music video, right,
- 52:00Speaker 3: and I like I was thinking maybe Judas.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I knew it was going to be from like Fameer
- 52:04Speaker 1: Fame Monster. It's Alejandro. I think that is the hottest
- 52:09Speaker 1: she's ever looked. It's also the skinniest she's ever been
- 52:13Speaker 1: problematic in my part, but I love when she's like
- 52:16Speaker 1: riding the models. It's so sexy. I also met her
- 52:23Speaker 1: the day.
- 52:24Speaker 3: After the Alejandro video came out, Right, you've told this
- 52:27Speaker 3: story on the pod had a bar. Yeah, so it
- 52:30Speaker 3: is special, but it is the Gaga era, an aesthetic
- 52:34Speaker 3: that I just connect with the most. So Phoebe wants
- 52:59Speaker 3: to know, like when we felt the most connected to Gaga.
- 53:02Speaker 3: So I Gaga came out when I was a Gaga
- 53:06Speaker 3: like came on the scene when I was a sophomore
- 53:08Speaker 3: in college, and then my junior year of college, I
- 53:13Speaker 3: went back to Florida for like six months because of
- 53:17Speaker 3: like family stuff, and during that time, I felt so
- 53:20Speaker 3: disconnected from my friends and from New York City, and
- 53:23Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, I'm back in this
- 53:25Speaker 3: life that I never wanted to be back in. And
- 53:27Speaker 3: Gaga like got me through that in a very real way.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Like I was always watching YouTube videos of her in concert,
- 53:36Speaker 1: like listening to her music constantly, like wearing crazy like
- 53:42Speaker 1: inspired looks and.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Did you did you ever wear like pleasers or something?
- 53:47Speaker 3: I've worn pleasers before, but no, I mean in your
- 53:49Speaker 3: Gaga area. No, no, no, this was no, this was
- 53:52Speaker 3: pre like any kind of like gender fuckery at all.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Okay, how did you how did you give Gaga without gender?
- 54:00Speaker 1: It was like when she was wearing a lot of
- 54:01Speaker 1: biker jackets and like denims, you know Born this Way. Yeah,
- 54:06Speaker 1: so that's Joe Calrone, Joe calderone. Yes. And then when
- 54:11Speaker 1: I moved back to New York was right around the
- 54:14Speaker 1: time when Born this Way came out, and so it
- 54:16Speaker 1: was like, oh, these things are converging. And I was
- 54:22Speaker 1: living on the Lower East Side where she used to
- 54:25Speaker 1: hang out all the time, so I felt so connected
- 54:28Speaker 1: to her.
- 54:30Speaker 3: I feel I definitely I was living in Chicago at
- 54:33Speaker 3: the time. If I'm thinking about like my most connected
- 54:35Speaker 3: Gaga moment, I was living in Chicago. I was interning
- 54:42Speaker 3: somewhere in the city, or maybe I was still going
- 54:45Speaker 3: to school there. I'm not exactly sure, but I just
- 54:49Speaker 3: remember Born this Way coming out and and me on
- 54:54Speaker 3: first listen getting some of the songs and not getting
- 54:58Speaker 3: all of it, and then going on runs. I used
- 55:01Speaker 3: to like run every day, and going to runs, and
- 55:02Speaker 3: then by listening to the album all the way through
- 55:05Speaker 3: over and over again, I was like, oh my god,
- 55:07Speaker 3: I get it.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. I think that there's
- 55:10Speaker 1: something about her story and the kind of her story
- 55:17Speaker 1: that she's like a rich kid from the Upper West Side?
- 55:21Speaker 1: Is she yeah, Yeah, she's rich. I guess yeah.
- 55:25Speaker 3: And I feel I feel like for me, like the
- 55:27Speaker 3: story and the thing that has always through all my
- 55:31Speaker 3: throughout my life connected me to Gaga over and over
- 55:33Speaker 3: again is the way she started at dive bars, like
- 55:38Speaker 3: performing for nobody, like for twenty dollars or whatever, on
- 55:43Speaker 3: bad microphones, wearing crazy shit. And this quote wherein she
- 55:47Speaker 3: says something to the effect of, like, you know, before
- 55:51Speaker 3: I was famous, I would walk into any bar, any
- 55:55Speaker 3: post office, any restaurant and pretend like I was. I
- 55:58Speaker 3: would carry myself like a fucking star are until everyone
- 56:02Speaker 3: else caught up to that. And I so viscerally latched
- 56:06Speaker 3: onto that mentality. And I don't think I ever, you know,
- 56:11Speaker 3: lived and breathed that then, but I do.
- 56:13Speaker 1: I am kind of like that now you are, well,
- 56:16Speaker 1: I feel similarly like that is the I latched onto that,
- 56:19Speaker 1: But I think I latched onto a different version of that.
- 56:23Speaker 1: The thing that I've always seen about seeing of myself
- 56:28Speaker 1: in her is her naked, try hard ambition. Yes, like, yes,
- 56:34Speaker 1: is so relatable.
- 56:35Speaker 4: She is so.
- 56:38Speaker 1: She is so hungry, she cares and she is clearly yes,
- 56:42Speaker 1: she cares so much, and she is clearly someone who
- 56:47Speaker 1: was deeply uncool at one point in her life and
- 56:51Speaker 1: faked it until people thought she was cool. But she's
- 56:55Speaker 1: still fucking nerds. She's a musical theater kid. Yeah, yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 1: she is and musical.
- 57:00Speaker 3: That's honestly, like tryhard and theater kid are synonyms, like
- 57:06Speaker 3: they are like actually, like to be a theater kid is.
- 57:09Speaker 3: To be a tryhard is to care way too much
- 57:13Speaker 3: about something that has virtually no stakes. Gaga obviously has
- 57:17Speaker 3: really has stakes.
- 57:18Speaker 1: But yeah, that is another reason why the theater kid
- 57:20Speaker 1: thing is actually really not a joke, like she is
- 57:23Speaker 1: that Yeah, just look at the whole A star is
- 57:26Speaker 1: born erab She wasn't just being an actress. She was
- 57:31Speaker 1: performing an actress in a big Hollywood oscar bait movie.
- 57:38Speaker 1: She what, and the same way that when Joker comes out,
- 57:43Speaker 1: she will be performing a newer version of that. She
- 57:48Speaker 1: is always I mean, not as much these days, just
- 57:52Speaker 1: because she's like she's fucking tired. I guess at this
- 57:56Speaker 1: point she's puts used to put so much effort into
- 58:02Speaker 1: the behind the scenes of fame, because you know, the
- 58:05Speaker 1: beginning of her career was about cause playing being famous.
- 58:09Speaker 1: That's literally like the point of the fame she walks
- 58:12Speaker 1: in I'm a motherfucking star. Yeah, and that performance has
- 58:16Speaker 1: you know, either expanded or contracted or whatever throughout her career.
- 58:21Speaker 1: And now I'm just I mean, this is it's so
- 58:26Speaker 1: hard for me to talk about God without with thinking
- 58:29Speaker 1: about where she is now, where she's like laying down
- 58:33Speaker 1: on her couch doing spawn for her makeup line and
- 58:37Speaker 1: for pharmaceutical brands and the nerd tech and I mean
- 58:40Speaker 1: for years, I've been in this place with Gaga. And
- 58:43Speaker 1: you know, this is why I butt heads with other
- 58:47Speaker 1: little monsters and why I really don't consider myself part
- 58:50Speaker 1: of that because I no, I am a little just
- 58:53Speaker 1: not a part of the community. Yeah, well, littler monster,
- 58:59Speaker 1: I'm a big month her because I have never felt
- 59:03Speaker 1: about Gaga that being a fan of her means being
- 59:06Speaker 1: uncritical of her. And that's the problem I have with
- 59:09Speaker 1: a lot of little monsters and also with stand culture
- 59:12Speaker 1: in general. Is is the idea that loving someone means
- 59:17Speaker 1: that you accept and celebrate everything that that person does,
- 59:21Speaker 1: even when it's bad or lackluster or offensive or whatever.
- 59:26Speaker 1: With Gaga, it's like I love her so much that
- 59:28Speaker 1: I hold her to the standard that she set. And unfortunately,
- 59:33Speaker 1: because of so many things, because of the hip of
- 59:36Speaker 1: it all, and like you know, the chronic pain and all,
- 59:40Speaker 1: and like the relationships and you know, changing managers and
- 59:44Speaker 1: like all the stuff that she's been through. She just
- 59:46Speaker 1: is a very different artist than she used to be.
- 59:48Speaker 1: But I still hold her to that standard that she set,
- 59:52Speaker 1: and I don't think that's wrong to do.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I remember seeing Gaga, I mean, first of all, to
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: everything you said, like I do feel like digesting Gaga
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: now is It's just it's all she's doing.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Is giving us memes.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Like she's giving us great memes and great things to
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: joke about on Twitter. It's like Chromatica felt like such
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: a relief because there was legitimate art to celebrate in
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: that moment after a long kind of dry point, you
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I felt like Chromatica or for me, stupid Love specifically,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: was this.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Like finally we get a Gaga song that I can
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: like bop to again, because I didn't really love the cure.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: I didn't really like applause. I was not an art
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: pop diva. I was not a Joanne diva. I feel
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: like now retroactively, I've caught on more to our pop,
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: but at its release did not like it.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: But also chromatica. As much as it felt like our return,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: it also felt likewell or regression. Yeah, it felt like
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: this was probably the last album like that we might
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: get from her. Let's not try to aifess that baby.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Let's let's I do.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: But I would be fine with if she wants to,
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: like have a baby and get fat and do cheek
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: to cheek five six, seven and twelve.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: I'm okay with that.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I would love for her to do that. Actually, I
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: would like for her to do something as long as
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: she has like a human life. It doesn't feel like
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: she has like a human life. Like she like she's destroyed, Yes, destroyed,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: she was destroyed by her level, Like her tweet fame
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: is a prisoner whatever, like a stupid tweet, but like
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: she You can tell through all of the commentary and
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: all of the art that she specifically has made about fame,
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: which sometimes feels like cliche, archetypal bullshit about fame, really
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: is inside of her. She is so deeply traumatized by
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: the experience of being the biggest pop star in the world.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: And that sounds like a really stupid thing to like,
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: you know, say in defense for order to create sympathy
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: for her. But like we as humans actually are not
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: We are not physically we should not be physically able
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: to take on the amount of exposure that it is
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: when you are that level of famous, like psychologically it's
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: very bad for you. Yeah, And you can tell that
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: now that she's like sorry, like meded up, like she
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: has way way too many drugs in her body.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Now, I'm worried she's gonna Michael Jackson off this mortal
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: coil that is I'm so yes, that is exactly what
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: it's giving.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: It's something worries someome And I really hope that if
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: we get to this point where some of these signs
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: are like more explicit, that we don't do like what
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: happened to Brittany or what happened to like these other girls.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Like I want to protect Gaga. I care about her
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: a lot, and you know, maybe I should be more
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: charitable and think the sort of lackluster energy she's given
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: currently is her way of protecting herself. Probably, but I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: don't know. Just like the energy feels so misplaced, like
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: the House Labs of it, all the chromatica oreos, so
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: the weird fake boomerangs and.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Oh the boom ranks are so bad. The oreos are unforgivable.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: The House Labs, however, you have.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Some I did. I showed the other night. I was
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: wearing the new House Labs blush and the shade lavender blonde. Okay, Oh,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I love so happy I could die and I bought it.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: I bought that shade literally just because of the name,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: but it is actually a good. Wait wait, so happy
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I could die? Oh wait, it's it's so happy I
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: could die. The song the lyric, I love that lavender blonde.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Oh the color of the blush is the shade is
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: lavender blonde?
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Work?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Wait what else? So wait you I've seen you wear
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: a lip by House Labs. Yeah, the the lip crans
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: are fine. What's the is it like? Oh? The best?
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I think the best product they make is their lip oil.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: I think they're litil I heard. I think their lip
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: oil is the best lip oil on the market period.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I oh, better than Amy Coole. I haven't used their
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: lip oil. I always yet targeted instagrams for that ship
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: better than do your better than the Knicks, do your
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: ripoff better than the Fentie, which I think is a
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: close second.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: I know you don't have the wear foundation, but I've
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: also heard the House Lives Foundation is excellent.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Well, I've heard like various things. Some people say it's
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: really good, some people say it's really bad. Okay, good
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: to know. Also there there eye paints are are okay, Okay,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I'm now gonna go get me some blush. But it's
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: powder blush, not cream. But it's almost it's almost powder.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: It's almost a powder to cream formula.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Okay, and coming up are sponsored by House Lab segment.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: I wish she would have taken out out on our podcast.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: I would love for the whole house lap Speed.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: I know that I've met her before and I've seen
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: her several times. I don't ever want to have a
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: conversation with her. Yeah not again, I mean I did,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I want. I can't because I've had one really good
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: interaction with her at the time when she was the
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: most important to me, like her peak era, and it
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: was the best kind of interaction. She was like funny,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: she was a little mean, she was a little bitchy
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: and I was great, And I don't know that I
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: want to meet this Gaga now, even though I was
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: very pissed when I went on a press trip and
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: right you did right and did not get to meet
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Gaga because I wasn't one of the influencers who.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Was there, remember, Well, So that's how I feel about Share.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: I don't want Share to ruin share for me. Yeah, Gaga,
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: I would love to meet. However, I would never want
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: to meet her as a fan, like I would never
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: want the dynamic to be like, oh, I'm like walking
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: up to her in a public place or like something
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: like that. It would need to be like I'm friends
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: with one of her friends, or I'm working on something
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: that she's working on, or like something like that.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: And I feel that way.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: About a lot of kind of celebs that I could
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: maybe meet, because I don't I hate the conversational dynamic
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: of fan and not you know, and the notoriety person.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I mean, I do think the circumstances are really important
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: with her because she commits fully to the drag of
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: whatever she's doing at the moment. Yeah, so I'm sure
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: like if you met her, like I'm she probably doesn't
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: go out. But like, if you met her in more
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: casual circumstances exactly, she would be doing casual drag. If
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: you met her at like a house labs event, she
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: would be in business woman drag. If you met her
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: like at a meet and greet at a show, she
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: would be doing Gaga drag.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Gaga is a drag artist, but she's not performing womanhood.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: She's performing Gaga.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah she I yeah.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I feel that way about a lot of celebs, honestly.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I mean, I'll never meet Gaga probably, but like I do,
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: like if I see like a celeb, like at a
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: party or at a bar, or like if I'm or
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: at like a red carpet event or whatever, like, I
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: don't want to.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I don't want to walk out to them and.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Say hi, I'm blah blah blah, because I'd much rather
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: wait for a maybe possible, potential moment where our paths
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: intersect in an organic way where we feel more like peers.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: But sometimes you just got to go for it. No,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: because might not have another chance.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: No, never, I don't. That's the thing is, I don't
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: want to meet them. I don't want to eat It's
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: either I meet them in that context, or I don't
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: want to meet them at all because and that sounds
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: like kind of egoistical, but like, look, I've worked very hard,
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Like I'm in a lot of cool celebrity circles sometimes,
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: and yeah, I don't want to walk up and say hi,
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: I want to wait till i'm there peer.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: I'll never be Gaga's peer. You'll never be I'll never
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: be anything close to that. But you know, you'll just
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: be some fag. Yeah, I'll just be some fag. I
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: told you she didn't have a dick. Wait, wait, wait,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: we need to talk about that. Oh about how everyone
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: thought she was trans.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: Yes, yes, this is crazy. This is actually like like
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: a massive cultural massive cock. A massive yes, a massive
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: she cock, a massive cultural scandal, a massive she is
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: a massive shen take.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Off to the planet, to the planet. I it was a.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Massive cultural scandal that took over news cycles. I heard
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: about it as a kid and so like, and yet
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: it's like kind of like never, it kind of never happened.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: It's wild that that was such a thing. Like it
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: was not the same as when we all said Sierra
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: had a dick, or when we said Jamie Lee Curtis
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: had a dick, when Gaga had it, Sigourney Weaver that
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: we thought had to dick. No Jamie as well. Oh,
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Sigourney Weaver maybe has no.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: I'm just kidding.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: These are all rivers. But like when everyone was saying
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Goga has it, God, it was like what. And then
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: she in that interview with Anderson Cooper when he was like, so,
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: people say you have a dick and She's like, yeah,
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: which obviously like part of it is shocked that it
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: like something like that feels like shock value, great pr
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: and she's smart. She was on the cusp of fame.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: She was like, let me write it without saying transphobic shit.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: And he was like, so, do you have more to
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: say about it? And she was like what if I did, Like,
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: would it be so bad?
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Her early interviews are so so phenomenal, iconic, like around
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Born this Way, There's one where this woman asks her
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: what's the one thing in the world she wants to
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: the one experience of the world she wants to have
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: the most and she just goes, dah, yes, yes, yes,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: it's very you, it is very me.
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: All of her Honestly, interview, Gaga is the Gaga an
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: early interview. Gaga, thank you for that clarification is actually
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: the thing that I'll remember forever and why I'll always
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: love her.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: That's maybe the one circumstance in which I would want
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: to like interact with her now interview is if I
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: got to do like a proper like profile or like
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: on camera moment, because she would be in full drag
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: for that experience and I would get a really good
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: version of her. Yeah, because she I think the thing
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: now is that she keeps it so turned off all
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: the time, so that in the moments when she has
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: to turn it on, it can be at one hundred
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: thousand percent.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: Hmmm.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I love I mean I do love her and I
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: will I will always love her more than anyone else period.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I mean, he's my girl.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Gaga is your diva, Beyonce, she Gaga's my number two easily,
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: and they hold completely different spaces.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Gaga has made me cry so many times. The first
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: time I saw Starsborn, I sobbed my way through it,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: and I honestly was convinced it was going to win
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Best Picture of the Oscars. And then the second time
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: I saw it, I was like, Okay, no, I do
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: kind of want to rewatch it. It's been a while
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: since I saw it. I mean, it's a bad movie,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: but she's very compelling in it.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: She's amazing. I don't think it's a bad movie. I
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: think that the last third is bad, and I think
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: the rest of the movie is amazing. It's a movie
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: that feels.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: Like a movie.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: You're my boyfriend, I mean my husband. You're looking You're
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: so fucking ugly. You could never be my fucking dad.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: You never be my fucking dad.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: I'm moortown. You got your fucking body, fucking body, you're

- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Until next week. Bye me, and here's a special clip
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: from this week's Patreon episode, Become a Patron at patreon
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: dot com slash like a Virgin? Divas? Who are they?
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: What do they do? What do we do in relation
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: to them? Divas leave us with so many questions? Was
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: this written by chat GBT? Yeah? All of our banter
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: was written by chat GBT. Everything we say on the
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: podcast is written by chat GPT. But you know who
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: isn't written by a chat gpt? Who either of our
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: next guests. That's right, let's bring them out. Let's right,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: bring them out right now? Please welcome to the stage.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Hi Pluton and Joel Kim Booster.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Started.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. We're so tangled in wires and web cheer.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: It's like a polycule. Oh my god, we are a
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: polycule now. Oh yay, Happy pride, Happy Pride. I didn't
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: get to that chapter of polysecure yet, but are you
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: all ready to play a game?
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: I'll in full disclosure, I did smoke a joint before
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: getting here. Because oh we love that, because I don't
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: respect you.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: No, no, babe, babe, the feeling is absolutely mutual, Diva.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: But no, I'm really I'm ready.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: I feel free, I feel ready to talk.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Okay, great, because we're going to play a game of Diva,
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: which like does not have much to do with the
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: actual game, but it was a fun name, so it was.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Yeah. So we are going to ask producer Phoebe to
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: be the voice of God and ask us a series
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: of questions and we're going to answer honestly from the heart.
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: Okay, from the heart and the whole and the whole.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Hearts and wholes, the dichotomy. Yes, Okay, give us the
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: first question.
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: The first question is what diva do you want to
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: sing at your wedding? She will also sing in the
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: hotel room on your wedding night as you're making love,
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: and we'll be cooking you breakfast the next morning. This
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: is a multiple choice question.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: Okay, what are the choices?
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: The choices are A Megan Trainer, do you two trainers
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: make some noise?
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: You two trainers?
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: B Kelly Clarkson see Carrie Underwood. D Rita Aura or like.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Other Rita Aur is kind of the other of the
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: pop world. What do y'all think?
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: Okay, okay, my other would be I don't know why
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: this I came to be so quickly, and even though
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: she isn't a singer, she is a diva. But what's
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: in what's her name?
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Again?
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: From from.
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: Getting as I had half an ipay and feeling crazy,
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: she's bisexual and wait, Carroen, Carol Basket, Carol.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not realize she was a by icon.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, she's a BiCon.
- 1:17:29Speaker 7: My issue with this question and I will answer, but
- 1:17:31Speaker 7: like not to have oppositional defiance disorder, is that I
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: don't really know the catalog well enough from any of
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: those women, like as a transgender male bisexual entity. So
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: I will choose Megan Trainer because I would hope that
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: her plus one would be the little twunk from Spy Kids.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Who's your husband? Right? Yeah?
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: Who she poops next to? Yeah, that's my answer.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: First of all, I would like to apologize. I'm still
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: reeling from the fact that you said the word bisexual
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: and my first thought was Tila Tequila.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, to the bisexual community. I feel really bad about
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: that my other.
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: If my other would be I think somebody who encompasses
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: a lot of different vibes in that sizza.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I think I don't know if you can be such
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: a sad wedding night.
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I got Sexy One.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: It's a sexy one. I fucked that album all the time.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I definitely love fucking and says it's like
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I have pimples. It's really hot.
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: But I guess if I had to choose one of
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: those ladies, I'd be spending a lot of time with them.
- 1:18:45Speaker 5: And I do think Kelly Clarkson can hang.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I do think so Kelly Clarkson will be singing in
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: the hotel room.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: With you as you It's gonna be rough, and I.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: I will be.
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: I guess I I'm gonna have to do side behavior
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: the whole time because I just can't imagine Kelly seeing
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: anal I can.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: I think she's seen a lot of anal Actually, all.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: Right, Next question?
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: Next question, question is who would you trust to drive
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: you home from top surgery? Caitlyn Jenner or Chris Jenner.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Oh if the answer kind of OBVIU.
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: Okay, honestly, it's only hey. My answer is is site specific.
- 1:19:37Speaker 7: I live in New York City and so therefore it's Caitlin, Use,
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: I don't think aggressive driving. Yeah, I don't think that,
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: Chris Jenner. There's too many like like, I need someone
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: who's on uppers, not downers, you know what I mean?
- 1:19:53Speaker 7: And Chris is so fucking barred out all the time.
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: You can't drive you home from Midtown where I got
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: my top surgery, and like an escalade like we will die,
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: But didn't Kaitlyn kill someone in the car?
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Oh, your answer has been sealed. You can't take it back. Yeah,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I mean then it's definitely Caitlyn.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: The answer sands you know who.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Drove you home after your top surgery?
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: But yes, me plans, plants.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: You're like, I'm too high to process this question.
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: No, I think like I'm thinking about who would ask
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: the least annoying questions on the way home about what
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: it is to be someone? Would you know that of
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: trans experience? And I actually think Chris would be less annoying.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Than a solid answer, and she would already have plans
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: about how to monetize it.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Wait can I say a non secutor?
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: Of course, only because I had half of an I
- 1:20:56Speaker 7: p a yes, because we told her like Kelly Clarkson, anal.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Now I'm like Simon Cowell.
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: And thinking about how growing up we were all really
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: like mesmerized by his nipples. I want the Simon Cowell
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: peck implant, is what I'm saying.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Oh, okay, universal healthcare, thank you, and kay, we'll drive
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: you home.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: Next question, if you were in the Titanic submersible, heard
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: of it, what is the last diva anthem you'd stream
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: on Spotify before it imploded?
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: No choices, you have to come up from scratch.
- 1:21:40Speaker 7: Hey, let me start by saying that I thought all
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: of I thought submersible was an inside joke in a way.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: I didn't know it was actually a noun that we're
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: all calling it like instead of summarine, like the submersible.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: I was like, gay people are so.
- 1:21:55Speaker 7: Funny, but it is noun. Last diva anthem? Oh, definitely,
- 1:22:05Speaker 7: Britney spears. Wisom till the world ends? Oh it would
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: be till the world ends Britney spears. And that's a
- 1:22:14Speaker 7: gay guy answer.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: You're welcome. I honestly, my first song was married j Blanche.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I'm going down? Is that too obvious?
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: No?
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: It works.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: I feel like I already know your answer, Rose, which
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: would be the Nanny theme song. It would be the
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: yeah you know me so well.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Another question, Sorry, no, I know, Joel, listen, it's not funny.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: It's just my favorite song in the whole world.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: And that's Diana.
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: Ross's the boss, and in many ways it was the
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: boss's fault that that all happened in the first place.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: That's very true. Okay, next question.
- 1:22:52Speaker 6: If you were trapped in the woods like the Lesbians
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: and Yellow Jackets, which of these divas would you you
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: most want to cannibalize A Laana del Rey, the Florence
- 1:23:06Speaker 6: Welch see Lord de Gloria Stefan.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Gloria would be delicious exactly.
- 1:23:19Speaker 7: The answer has to be Lana because obviously it's like,
- 1:23:22Speaker 7: if we can just just safely assume that the human
- 1:23:25Speaker 7: flesh tastes like what the human was eating, I want
- 1:23:28Speaker 7: Lana flesh, you know, I want like parliaments, chili, cheese,
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: dog elf bar. Yeah, I want like combos like gas
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: station snacks.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: That would be good.
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: And then like Florence Welch, it would just be like
- 1:23:42Speaker 7: Spirulina and like Lilax.
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: Like well, and if there's somebody that you want a
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: round in the woods, it's Florence welch okay, like it
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: feels like a natural habitat for her. I think it's
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: got to be Lana because of the whole hopex boyfriend.
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: I feel like she probably internalized a lot of politics
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: and I don't want to be around it.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: I support that, and I do think she would taste delicious.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well, pussy tastes like whatever, Cherry Coler or whatever.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: So yeah, exactly, there's no way it tastes like cherry Colon. No,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: it really, I know experience it tastes like Cherry Cole.
- 1:24:21Speaker 7: I think it tastes it's I think her pussy is
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: like carbonated, like.
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: CrOx.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Okay, next question if sorry god.
- 1:24:33Speaker 6: Okay, if you were Lily rose Deep in the idol,
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: which pop star would you want to play? The cult leader?
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: Who fucks you?
- 1:24:42Speaker 6: There's only two choices.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Because we couldn't think of any male diva.
- 1:24:46Speaker 6: There's two Elton John or Rue Paul and and if
- 1:24:54Speaker 6: you can think of another male diva, please use this time.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: To share with us who that is.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: This is kind of a stretch, but I would like it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: Adam Lambert count.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: I actually say absolutely mono cultural in the moment, Adam Lambert.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: But I mean, I've never listened to this Tom Jones.
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: Count Can you imagine getting top and you're like, what's new,
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: pussy cat?
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Whoa?
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: Whoa?
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: He absolutely counts. So would you Jones? So would you
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: want to have sex with Bob Joan, Adam Lambert, Bob
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: the Bible College Founder? I obviously Adam Lambert, Rue Paul
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: or Elton John.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: I think Elton John of the two original ones, knows
- 1:25:51Speaker 7: how to have sex better.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I think that Rue Paul has sex like a clone simulation.
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: Yeah, where it's like he knows what it's like because
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: he lived through the seventies and the eighties.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: But now it's just like having sex with a really
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: sad mirage.
- 1:26:07Speaker 7: And we saw those pictures of Elison John on that boat,
- 1:26:10Speaker 7: you know what, He's in the jumpsuit and his little dick,
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: you know talking about he's in a romper, so he's.
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: A party it.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Okay, So that's where the show will take place on
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: the boat on the boat the Idle season two, Lost
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: at Sea, and the stays on during sex.
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: I think we can go to the next.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: Question, which is which diva should star in the next
- 1:26:34Speaker 6: remake of a star is born. The options are A.
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: Tyra Banks, B Kim Petres See Rosalia and de Gaga
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: again but in Drag as Joe Calderome.
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: Now we're cooking with fire.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: I can never quite twell where we stand with her,
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: But I do you think Rosalia? I saw her Coachella
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: said it was quite wonderful, and I think it would
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: be really interesting to see another white person.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Doing that role. The role so important, it is a
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: culturally white object.
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: I want Tyra Banks, but she plays both parts, yes,
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: because that's what That's what the rewriter right, because there's
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: no way I want her as Bradley Cooper and a's
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: Lady Gaga like, and that's what I want.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Final answer, Okay, where Galaxy Brain? I'm astream more. Yeah,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I think we are at our final question for me.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: More take it away, just one more?
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: All right, here's the last question. You have been cast
- 1:27:46Speaker 6: as a series regular in the next season of and
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: just like that, as one of the many rotating diversity
- 1:27:53Speaker 6: quota characters, filling in the place of Samantha Jones. What
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: is your character's name and profession?
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I've thought about this for a long time.
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: You auditioned for this.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: No, I think my character would be Lily's birth father,
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: a gay, a gay sperm bank dude, and of course
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: his name would be something.
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: Awful like Satchel Kim.
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: Cho Chang.
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, and I think he would you know, they're
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: they're trying to subtly replace all of them together. I
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: think he would sort of be the replacement for Stanford
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: in some ways, and they would be would really butt
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: heads with Anthony because Anthony would be like.
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: I think siss is a slur or something.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: You know it is, So I love that and I
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: can't wait to watch you on the show.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: Hi, you know.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so I have I have one And this
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: I was just spitballing. So my character would be called
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Amanda Chimalley, and I think she like works in marketing
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah.
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: I would be like Jay Diaza's like non binary sidekick,
- 1:29:16Speaker 7: and my name would be like Triangle, and they would
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: force me to get a side shave that matches Shay's.
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: And then I think we would just like do buddy
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: comedies where we like smoke.
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: Weed backwards or something.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: I would just be some kind of series regular and
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: x Y and me Chad AS's TV show, and I
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: feel like my name would probably be like Gabrielle, Garcia
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: Rodriguez or something.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Well, we'll see all of you on season three of them,
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: just like that, unless it gets canceled. And please give
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: a big run of applause to our amazing chandelists. Thank you,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: thank you so much. Oh my god, this is what
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Joel's gonna hear on his wedding night as he's making
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: the Sweet Tender Love so beautiful, say the EU in Judas.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: The You is better than the Beatles' entire discography. And
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: that's a fact. Government Hooker should have been played at
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: the inauguration and we haven't talked about that enough as
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: a society. Oh wait, these are all tweets. Fuck you Rose,
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: fuck you keep that Phoebe
