Meanwhile, President Trump has welcomed the release of American citizen Dena Karari, calling it a “gesture of goodwill” by Tehran. Karari, who had been barred from leaving Iran since late 2024 after being accused of espionage, is now on her way back to the United States, according to her lawyer.
