- 0:33everybody welcome to lunch
- 0:35with the Clydesdale we are
- 0:36back and better than ever
- 0:38my apologies last week was
- 0:40a little rough uh leading a
- 0:42project working some
- 0:43overtime really kind of
- 0:45took out a lot of my energy
- 0:47last week and that uh that
- 0:49became kind of the uh
- 0:53where my my head was last
- 0:55week and so didn't have a
- 0:56lot of time for lunch so
- 0:57we're back to doing lunch
- 0:58this week can't wait to
- 1:00talk to you all about a lot
- 1:01of things what's going on
- 1:02lex aaron frazier what's
- 1:04for lunch um I actually
- 1:05have some buffalo chicken
- 1:07uh that I have waiting for
- 1:08me upstairs as soon as this
- 1:10is over and I will be
- 1:11digging into that um yeah
- 1:15prep that over the weekend
- 1:17so have some of that I will
- 1:18do a lot of that this weekend
- 1:24Lex asks, how's the day going?
- 1:26Do you have to go back into
- 1:26the office anytime soon?
- 1:28Well,
- 1:28the executive order is that all state
- 1:31employees have to be back
- 1:33by March seventeenth.
- 1:35That is not realistic.
- 1:40It has to go through our
- 1:41Department of
- 1:42Administrative Services
- 1:44because buildings were
- 1:45eliminated for cost savings
- 1:46measures and then they have
- 1:48to kind of decide
- 1:50how many each agency has to
- 1:52send back by that March seventeenth.
- 1:56And then can we afford new
- 1:58buildings or not?
- 2:00At the time of the last biennium budget,
- 2:02which is a two year budget
- 2:04here in the state of Ohio,
- 2:05they did not have money for
- 2:06more office space.
- 2:09So we're just kind of waiting and seeing.
- 2:12And the final list for who
- 2:14comes back March
- 2:14seventeenth will be out on
- 2:15the twenty eighth of February.
- 2:18So I've got ten days to wait and see,
- 2:23and then we'll see what
- 2:24happens from there.
- 2:26I'm hoping I don't have to go back to work,
- 2:28but I'm trying not to be mad if I do.
- 2:34I'll just figure out a way to do things.
- 2:39But I do my job.
- 2:39I meet my deadlines.
- 2:41I put out good work and I
- 2:43can do that in the office
- 2:44or out of the office.
- 2:46But it is like I've never
- 2:49missed a deadline with my boss.
- 2:51So it's a little frustrating.
- 2:55And actually at home,
- 2:56I get more done personally
- 2:58because when you're in the office,
- 3:00people stop by your desk all day long.
- 3:02and interrupt me.
- 3:03And I am better if I can
- 3:05just get into a flow state
- 3:06and just kind of go from
- 3:08beginning to end and work
- 3:10through my projects.
- 3:12And when I'm in an office,
- 3:14that never happens.
- 3:16I'm interrupted twenty times
- 3:18a day in the middle of my stuff.
- 3:21So I really enjoyed the time at home.
- 3:23I'm hoping I get to continue that.
- 3:26But
- 3:27I've wasted too much energy
- 3:29on worrying about it.
- 3:30And, um, I'll just, whatever comes, comes.
- 3:36Um, I agree.
- 3:39If you're getting your work done,
- 3:40shouldn't matter where it's done.
- 3:43Completely agree.
- 3:46So, um,
- 3:49So yeah, but other than that,
- 3:50it's super cold here in Ohio today.
- 3:54As soon as this is done and
- 3:56I eat some lunch, my wife, Julie,
- 3:59has to go to PT.
- 4:01So I dug out half of my
- 4:04driveway over the weekend,
- 4:06and now I have to do the
- 4:07other half to get her out
- 4:09for PT and make sure she
- 4:10can get there with her cane.
- 4:15But I actually tweaked my
- 4:16back shoveling snow this weekend.
- 4:18So I'm trying to do it smart
- 4:20in a smart manner.
- 4:25I was if I was shoveling
- 4:28snow and I was hunched over
- 4:30and just go into town like boom, boom,
- 4:33boom.
- 4:34And then I hit this wet
- 4:35patch that was super packed
- 4:37and super heavy.
- 4:38And I went to throw it and
- 4:39felt the tweak right down my back.
- 4:42So yesterday I stretched all day,
- 4:45put some heat and ice on it.
- 4:48Um, and today I feel much, much better,
- 4:50but I don't want to go out
- 4:51and then face the same thing today.
- 4:53So I'm trying to figure out
- 4:54a way to do it.
- 4:55Um, my cohost Amy from the round table,
- 4:58they just bought an electric shovel.
- 5:00Um,
- 5:00and she said it was such a huge
- 5:02investment.
- 5:02It's like a little mini
- 5:03snowblower on the top of, on,
- 5:07on your shovel to kind of
- 5:08throw snow as you're moving.
- 5:11Um,
- 5:11Um,
- 5:12and that's really where it happens for
- 5:13me is throwing the snow,
- 5:15like in you're twisting and
- 5:17you're doing things that
- 5:18you're not normally doing,
- 5:19like in the gym or you're
- 5:21not set like you are in the gym.
- 5:23And that is, yeah.
- 5:26And my back is my back sucks anyway.
- 5:28So, uh,
- 5:30should have been more careful when
- 5:31I got to the street and the new,
- 5:34the snow would probably be
- 5:34more wet down there.
- 5:36Uh, but just trying to get things done.
- 5:39Right.
- 5:43Last night,
- 5:44it got into negative
- 5:44temperatures here in Ohio,
- 5:46and I think that they're
- 5:47calling for some more of
- 5:48that through the day.
- 5:53For tonight, it is bitterly cold.
- 5:55And Lex, no.
- 5:58The walks get definitely
- 5:59minimal when it's this cold.
- 6:02But Walter will not poop
- 6:04unless he's on a walk.
- 6:06So I've got to do at least
- 6:07many walks with him a
- 6:08couple times a day because
- 6:09he is a two-a-day pooper.
- 6:12We have that down now.
- 6:15But yeah,
- 6:18they've become more minimal and
- 6:19not everybody is shoveling
- 6:21their sidewalk here.
- 6:22So it is really hard to get
- 6:26around the neighborhood.
- 6:27The roads are ice right now.
- 6:29So I can't even like go down
- 6:30to the street level to walk him at all.
- 6:35It's tough.
- 6:37So.
- 6:39Yeah,
- 6:39all of you people bragging that it's
- 6:41AD and sunny in Florida and
- 6:44a sixty five and sunny
- 6:46wherever Aaron Frazier is
- 6:47that that just is ridiculous.
- 6:54Alex,
- 6:55my dogs won't pee unless on a walk to
- 6:57they train us for their preferences.
- 6:59They sure do.
- 7:01Yeah.
- 7:05And I'm sure it's warm in Cali too.
- 7:07It is.
- 7:07Yes.
- 7:09It is so bitterly cold.
- 7:10It's cold in this podcast center.
- 7:12My basement has one tiny
- 7:14little vent and it is not enough.
- 7:17Um, at some point I need to throw on the,
- 7:20uh, uh, the electric heater,
- 7:25man is just awful down here.
- 7:28Uh,
- 7:28Jody Lynn is all ice up in the Northeast.
- 7:32So dangerous.
- 7:34Yeah.
- 7:35Our street is all ice right now.
- 7:39So, um, yeah,
- 7:41I'm like long sleeve in it today.
- 7:44Uh, just trying to get through,
- 7:47just trying to get through the cold.
- 7:50So, um,
- 7:53So yeah,
- 7:53so that's kind of how the day's
- 7:54going so far.
- 7:57Got a lot of work done this morning.
- 8:01Yeah, ACR, I am totally with you.
- 8:03It's freezing and I'm so over winter.
- 8:06Yeah,
- 8:06Punxsutawney Phil is definitely on my
- 8:09list.
- 8:11Seeing his shadow and giving
- 8:12us six more weeks of winter was an awful,
- 8:16awful gift from him this year.
- 8:18Although I am glad here in Columbus,
- 8:20we've got not a ton of snow.
- 8:23It's just been cold.
- 8:25So cold.
- 8:26Like I have barely had to
- 8:28shovel this year.
- 8:30And that's why it's like,
- 8:33do I buy the electric
- 8:34shovel and then have it and
- 8:36then probably buy it and
- 8:37not get another snow?
- 8:39Or if I don't buy it,
- 8:41we'll get six more snows.
- 8:43So that's how it works, right?
- 8:47You know,
- 8:47you buy gas and the price drops tomorrow.
- 8:50That's how it always happens for me.
- 8:53Can't ever get the right prediction.
- 8:57So the first thing I just
- 8:59wanted to chat about is I
- 9:04watched this video yesterday.
- 9:07It's from the Buttery Bros.
- 9:09It is, I woke up during heart surgery.
- 9:14And I'm not here to get into
- 9:15a political conversation about this show,
- 9:19but what it did for me is
- 9:22what I found out is Marston
- 9:24Sawyer went through AFib just like I did.
- 9:30And they walk through what
- 9:32happened to him during that
- 9:35process and the steps they
- 9:37took with medication.
- 9:39And eventually he had a heart ablation,
- 9:43which for me is the next
- 9:45step if the medication doesn't work.
- 9:49So I am in the let's see if
- 9:51the medicine works stage.
- 9:53Marston went through that
- 9:55what seems to be like a year ago.
- 9:58where they put him on
- 9:59medication to see if that worked.
- 10:00Uh,
- 10:02and then when he went to have the hair
- 10:04transplant surgery, uh,
- 10:06his heartbeat was all over the place.
- 10:09They almost did not perform
- 10:10the surgery because of that.
- 10:12And then when he got back,
- 10:13he went back to his cardiologist, uh,
- 10:16and they determined that his, um,
- 10:20arrhythmia or atribule fibrillation,
- 10:24a fib, uh, was back, uh,
- 10:27And they were going to need
- 10:28to take steps to correct that.
- 10:32What was really cool about it is one,
- 10:34for the first time,
- 10:36I didn't feel alone in this
- 10:38process because he questioned that, like,
- 10:41I do all these workouts.
- 10:42I do all this.
- 10:43I eat right.
- 10:44I do all these things.
- 10:46And yet this is still happening to me.
- 10:49Why is this happening?
- 10:51And I've had those same
- 10:51questions go through my head.
- 10:54Um,
- 10:57why did this happen to me at
- 11:01one of my most healthy
- 11:02moments in my life?
- 11:03So the other thing was,
- 11:07is I had the option at the
- 11:08cardiologist last time to
- 11:10try the medicine or go for the ablation.
- 11:14And I chose the medicine,
- 11:16but now I got to see what
- 11:18the ablation is and how it works.
- 11:21And they walked through those steps.
- 11:25And almost gave you like a
- 11:26worst case scenario because
- 11:28they had to wake up Marston
- 11:30in the middle of the
- 11:30surgery because they
- 11:32couldn't find his regular
- 11:34heartbeat to be able to
- 11:37burn the sensors to get
- 11:40everything back in regular sinus rhythm.
- 11:45And so they had to wake him up.
- 11:47And then when they woke him up,
- 11:48they found it and said, hey, we found it.
- 11:51Can we go ahead with the procedure?
- 11:53And they did it while he was awake.
- 11:56And he kind of described
- 11:58what that felt like.
- 11:59And, um,
- 12:02and so while it wasn't optimal and
- 12:04it wasn't what I would want,
- 12:06it is something that is
- 12:07doable in a worst case scenario.
- 12:12Hopefully if that had does
- 12:13happen to me and I have to have it,
- 12:15that I won't have to be
- 12:16woken up during the surgery.
- 12:19But, um,
- 12:21But yeah,
- 12:22it was really cool seeing someone
- 12:24else in the space that I
- 12:27live and work in go through
- 12:30the exact same thing that I
- 12:32have gone through for the last year plus.
- 12:37According to him,
- 12:37this has been something
- 12:38he's been dealing with
- 12:39since probably twenty twenty one.
- 12:44And that's just from his
- 12:45data that they kind of figure that out.
- 12:49But the sensations he was
- 12:52feeling prior to it being
- 12:54discovered are the same
- 12:55things I felt prior to mine
- 12:58being discovered and so on.
- 13:00So it's really cool that I
- 13:04got to see that personally,
- 13:05just selfishly.
- 13:07It made me feel much more at ease.
- 13:11And I think they did a
- 13:12really good job with the video overall.
- 13:15Yeah.
- 13:17There's going to be some
- 13:19politicalness in this video
- 13:20if you choose to watch it.
- 13:22I'll just prep you for that.
- 13:23I didn't want to get into
- 13:24that today because it's
- 13:25more about how I connected
- 13:27with the story that I
- 13:28wanted to talk about today.
- 13:32And everything else is more
- 13:33speculation than fact.
- 13:36And so I just want to leave it at that.
- 13:41So if you choose to,
- 13:44if you're curious about what AFib is,
- 13:46it's a great documentary to
- 13:48kind of go through that.
- 13:49And it's nineteen minutes long.
- 13:51It's a quick one and one of the better.
- 13:56one of the better buttery
- 13:57bros videos I've seen in
- 13:58the last few months years
- 14:01um I thought it was really
- 14:02well done um and applaud
- 14:04them for uh sharing all
- 14:07this information and for
- 14:08marston to be so vulnerable
- 14:10uh to share that so uh
- 14:14really excited he did that
- 14:17while I'm promoting other things, um,
- 14:20I also,
- 14:21this is something we've talked
- 14:22about on our Sunday night show,
- 14:25which if you did not see
- 14:26the Sunday night show,
- 14:28you need to go watch this week.
- 14:29What a great conversation.
- 14:30So we had,
- 14:31we had on there a very open
- 14:33dialogue about the open,
- 14:35about why you should,
- 14:37why people are or people,
- 14:39why people aren't doing it
- 14:41and being open to all
- 14:43possibilities in that.
- 14:45Um,
- 14:47think it was a great great
- 14:48discussion and we also got
- 14:50a perspective from carolyn
- 14:52about when she did an open
- 14:54announcement uh with
- 14:55carolyn reason tebow uh
- 14:57back in the day and what
- 14:59that was like um which is
- 15:02awesome so you should it's
- 15:03a great episode you should
- 15:04check it out it's one of
- 15:05the best ones we did we
- 15:06actually do a rundown every
- 15:08week we didn't even make it
- 15:09halfway through the rundown
- 15:11because the conversation was
- 15:13so good this week,
- 15:14and we just kind of dove
- 15:15into all of that.
- 15:17So please go check out that
- 15:19Sunday night show.
- 15:23The other thing I wanted to
- 15:25talk about is we've been
- 15:26talking about on that show the new –
- 15:30uh, the new CrossFit podcast, uh,
- 15:34hosted by Denise Thomas.
- 15:36Um,
- 15:37last week she had Nicole Carol on
- 15:41talking about, um,
- 15:42CrossFit in general and her
- 15:44new role and what she
- 15:46thinks needs improved in
- 15:47CrossFit and how she thinks
- 15:49that CrossFit lost its way
- 15:50for a little bit.
- 15:52Um, and it was a great episode this week.
- 15:56She has, uh, Chuck Carswell on.
- 16:00I got to meet Chuck way back
- 16:02in my volunteer days.
- 16:04He was the head judge at one
- 16:06of the events that I was judging at.
- 16:08What a great guy.
- 16:09Super awesome.
- 16:11Super nice to everybody.
- 16:14Just an amazing, amazing guy.
- 16:18And he has actually taught
- 16:20more CrossFit seminars than
- 16:26any other person in the
- 16:27history of CrossFit.
- 16:30So he is the most
- 16:31experienced seminar staff
- 16:33member that they have.
- 16:35And they're really talking
- 16:36about his history and how he
- 16:38I've only gotten,
- 16:38you can see where the red line is.
- 16:40That is where I've gotten to
- 16:42in the podcast so far.
- 16:44And it's really about his
- 16:45history and how he finds
- 16:46CrossFit and why he started
- 16:49to believe that it was the
- 16:50most effective way to gain fitness.
- 16:55But it's really interesting
- 16:57because Denise is forcing
- 16:59him to use his own words to describe why.
- 17:03And I love that.
- 17:04I love that it's,
- 17:06You know,
- 17:06because us in the space know all
- 17:10of the definitions, right?
- 17:13Where when he's using his own words,
- 17:15someone that may not be
- 17:16from the CrossFit space is
- 17:18now learning more about what CrossFit is.
- 17:23And I love the way that
- 17:24she's doing that and
- 17:25approaching that with him.
- 17:27And I think it's very
- 17:28effective if you're trying
- 17:30to reach people outside the space.
- 17:34Um, and you know, the way YouTube is today,
- 17:36you can share little snippets of things.
- 17:39I think that's going to be a
- 17:40truly effective if that's
- 17:42the path that they continue to go down.
- 17:45So if you haven't seen this,
- 17:46make sure to go out and check this out.
- 17:48We'll probably talk about it
- 17:49more on our regular big shows.
- 17:52Um, but yeah,
- 17:53I'm just telling you it's good.
- 17:56Check it out.
- 17:59And we've talked about the
- 18:01Nicole Carroll one,
- 18:02and that one is fabulous.
- 18:03Go check that one out as well.
- 18:07So now for a little bit of fun stuff.
- 18:12I was really busy over the weekend,
- 18:14and we had the Sunday night
- 18:15show that went right over SNL Fifty.
- 18:20We talked about it briefly
- 18:21on the Sunday night show
- 18:23about the SNL-Fifty, but I was a huge,
- 18:26huge Saturday Night Live fan growing up.
- 18:30I told the story of when I
- 18:32was a bouncer at a bar,
- 18:34we used to record Saturday
- 18:35Night Live on VHS tape.
- 18:38set the old V VCR.
- 18:41And when we were done with our shift,
- 18:43we would come up to my apartment,
- 18:45grab a few beers,
- 18:46sit down and watch Saturday
- 18:47Night Live just to kind of
- 18:49unwind after our shifts on
- 18:50a Saturday night.
- 18:55it has been one of my favorite things, uh,
- 18:57in my life that I have watched in,
- 18:59in garnered.
- 19:00Uh,
- 19:00and I even told the story Sunday night
- 19:02as well that, um,
- 19:04I have dressed as three
- 19:06different characters from
- 19:08Saturday night live for
- 19:09Halloween over my adult life.
- 19:13And so I was so excited to
- 19:16see the show and yesterday, um,
- 19:22Yesterday I caught up on everything.
- 19:26I watched the Friday night concert.
- 19:28I watched the special they
- 19:30did on Sunday night.
- 19:32It was fabulous.
- 19:35I thought they did an amazing job.
- 19:39ACR says, did you watch the prison one?
- 19:42I forget the name of the bit.
- 19:43I did.
- 19:46And the reason, I watched everything.
- 19:48So the answer first is I've
- 19:50watched everything.
- 19:52But Eddie Murphy, to me,
- 19:53is the greatest cast member
- 19:55to ever come out of Saturday Night Live.
- 19:57He started there as a writer
- 19:59at the age of like seventeen.
- 20:01worked his way up to get on
- 20:03screen and then became like
- 20:06the eighties blockbuster
- 20:09icon throughout the
- 20:11nineteen eighties with
- 20:13Beverly Hills cop with
- 20:15coming to America trading
- 20:17places forty eight hours.
- 20:21He just is amazing.
- 20:23And, yes, the prison won ACR.
- 20:27He was in it, which is great.
- 20:30And what was great is it was
- 20:31so funny with him and Kenan
- 20:33trying to scare these guys straight.
- 20:36And then when Will Ferrell
- 20:37comes out and is such a
- 20:40complete divergent
- 20:42character from what is there,
- 20:44then the roof comes off the joint.
- 20:47And watching Eddie try to
- 20:48keep a straight face when
- 20:50Will Ferrell comes out was...
- 20:53was amazing.
- 20:53And Keenan never keeps a straight face.
- 20:55So that was awesome.
- 21:01I also, speaking of Eddie,
- 21:05when they did black
- 21:06jeopardy and he did his
- 21:09Tracy Morgan impersonation
- 21:11right next to Tracy Morgan, that's,
- 21:17that's the stuff, uh,
- 21:18of legends right there.
- 21:20Um,
- 21:22He was so good doing that
- 21:23Tracy Morgan impersonation,
- 21:26and it was so well done.
- 21:32What I truly loved about the
- 21:33show is that it didn't just
- 21:35rehash old bits.
- 21:38It took this amazing
- 21:40legendary cast and used
- 21:42them in newly created and
- 21:46newly updated shows.
- 21:51sketches right so it's not
- 21:53just the same old stuff we
- 21:55had a couple that came back
- 21:56a little bit here and there
- 21:58but for the most part they
- 21:59were all fresh and new um
- 22:04and so that's what I really
- 22:05loved um kate mckinnon did
- 22:07her abducted by aliens
- 22:09character which was brought
- 22:10back um but for the most part
- 22:17debbie downer was brought
- 22:18back um but that was at the
- 22:21concert so the concert
- 22:24brought more people back
- 22:25from what they actually did
- 22:27where the special actually
- 22:29was all fresh stuff um now
- 22:32black jeopardy has been
- 22:33done before but this was a
- 22:35whole new cast uh for that
- 22:37other than keenan as the
- 22:38host yeah I thought it was
- 22:41I thought it was an amazing job
- 22:43And Anna Gasteyer was
- 22:45probably the star of the show.
- 22:47She appeared in so many things,
- 22:50and she is amazing.
- 22:52Her Martha Stewart has
- 22:53always been one of my favorite characters,
- 22:56which she reprised at the
- 22:57concert to introduce Snoop Dogg,
- 22:59which was hilarious.
- 23:03Yeah, the concert was good, too.
- 23:05If you love music and all kinds of music,
- 23:09the concert on Friday night was amazing.
- 23:12share blew my mind um snoop
- 23:16dogg was amazing they did a
- 23:19uh nirvana reunion with
- 23:21post malone as the lead
- 23:22singer which was fabulous
- 23:26and most of this stuff you
- 23:27can actually find in clip
- 23:28version on youtube now
- 23:31But my wife and I sat down,
- 23:33really just binge through
- 23:34the whole Saturday Night
- 23:35Live weekend yesterday in
- 23:38our holiday day off because
- 23:41it was so cold here and snowy.
- 23:44So we just decided to kind of chill.
- 23:48But highly recommend it.
- 23:50It was so cool to see all the old stuff,
- 23:53the old faces, the nostalgia.
- 23:57Amazing.
- 23:57If you ever were a Saturday Night Live fan,
- 23:59you should check that stuff out.
- 24:04And the last thing that I'm
- 24:06going to talk about today,
- 24:08as we're kind of getting
- 24:08back into the groove here,
- 24:13Yeah, Jody asked,
- 24:14are they old skits or new ones?
- 24:15They were both,
- 24:16but I like that they kept
- 24:18it pretty fresh.
- 24:21It wasn't just a straight
- 24:22rehash of anything.
- 24:26They really wrote new stuff
- 24:29and let the cast be the
- 24:33stars rather than the bit.
- 24:38And that's kind of what ACR
- 24:40says here with both, so...
- 24:43uh last thing I'm gonna say
- 24:44is uh if you ever watch
- 24:47stuff where charlie and I
- 24:48are on here we talk about
- 24:50wrestling a little bit and
- 24:51I've wanted to get back
- 24:52into wrestling but I it's
- 24:55really hard every time I
- 24:56tune in I don't really know
- 24:57the new characters so it's
- 25:06hard for me to follow the
- 25:07storylines but I found this
- 25:11interesting show
- 25:13Hold on while I cough.
- 25:23I found this new show.
- 25:23I'm going to share my screen.
- 25:32And it's called WWE LFG.
- 25:37And LFG means Legends and
- 25:38Future... Something.
- 25:44But what it is,
- 25:48is it's basically a
- 25:49competition and it's on A&E.
- 25:52You can watch it online on their website.
- 25:56And...
- 25:58It's four WWE legends
- 26:01coaching and drafting like
- 26:03a team of two men and two
- 26:05women each to compete
- 26:07against each other to be
- 26:08crowned the next WWE LFG champion.
- 26:13And the winner, one woman,
- 26:14one man will get a contract
- 26:18for NXT with the WWE.
- 26:20So I'm gonna attempt to play a short clip.
- 26:24hopefully not get copyright
- 26:27dinged but um this is one
- 26:29of the contestants and he
- 26:31has to do an on-air promo
- 26:34and then he gets feedback
- 26:36from the legends on his
- 26:39promo so I may stop it
- 26:42periodically to hopefully
- 26:44not get the the ding as the
- 26:47undertaker this friday
- 26:48that's a big toe that's a
- 26:49big man but with that said
- 26:52There's new blood out in these waters.
- 26:57So yeah,
- 26:58you can tell that this guy is not
- 27:00seasoned in doing the promo.
- 27:04But he's making his attempt
- 27:05in front of these legends,
- 27:07including The Undertaker,
- 27:09Bubba Ray Dudley, Mickey,
- 27:15I can't remember last name,
- 27:16and then Booker T. So he finishes up.
- 27:19I'm a shark.
- 27:21And I'm ready to show you that.
- 27:24I don't feel like you believed it.
- 27:27You didn't believe it.
- 27:28You didn't believe that.
- 27:29Okay.
- 27:30So Undertaker and Booker T are like,
- 27:32you didn't even believe
- 27:33what you were saying.
- 27:37And then Bubba Ray comes in
- 27:38with the hammer.
- 27:39Believe your own bull.
- 27:43Otherwise, I won't.
- 27:45We won't.
- 27:46They won't.
- 27:47Yes, sir.
- 27:47Bubba.
- 27:50So it's interesting.
- 27:51They, they do in ring stuff.
- 27:53They do the promo stuff and
- 27:54they get feedback from these coaches.
- 27:57They haven't even drafted
- 27:58the players yet on, on episode one.
- 28:01And it's already been pretty
- 28:03full of drama.
- 28:04There's some interesting
- 28:05characters that are trying
- 28:07to get a contract.
- 28:08Um,
- 28:11And I really, really enjoyed it.
- 28:14It kind of takes me back
- 28:15with the legends to my days
- 28:19when I was younger and
- 28:20watched a lot of wrestling.
- 28:22But I also thought, like,
- 28:25what if CrossFit did this?
- 28:29What if CrossFit said,
- 28:33and let's take hypothetically...
- 28:38Underdogs Athletics says,
- 28:40I'm going to bring in ten
- 28:43potential CrossFit Games athletes,
- 28:46and we're going to have a
- 28:48show where I work them out,
- 28:51we do competitions,
- 28:52and then people get
- 28:53eliminated every week.
- 28:55And whoever wins that show
- 28:58gets a one-year contract
- 29:00with Underdogs to be
- 29:01coached by them through the
- 29:03upcoming CrossFit Games season.
- 29:08how much fun would that be I
- 29:15think it's it's those kinds
- 29:18of ideas that we need to
- 29:20come up with uh to bring
- 29:23people to crossfit that
- 29:25aren't normally here like I
- 29:28have not watched wrestling
- 29:30in ten years probably
- 29:33And I'm watching this show,
- 29:34and I'm loving the drama,
- 29:36and I'm loving the feedback.
- 29:38And they just gave me a
- 29:39taste of some legends to bring me back.
- 29:43If CrossFit did this,
- 29:45and you had Justin Kotler giving feedback,
- 29:48and then you bring in a
- 29:50Sarah Sigmundsdottir to help coach,
- 29:52or you bring in an Alex
- 29:53Kazan to give feedback,
- 29:55or they bring in Carrie
- 29:57Pierce back to give
- 29:59feedback and talk about different things.
- 30:03I would tune in for that
- 30:06every single week to see that drama.
- 30:11And whenever you're putting
- 30:12yourself on the line to get
- 30:13that like one year contract,
- 30:15I think that then emotions
- 30:18come rise to the surface.
- 30:20And then naturally you get that drama of,
- 30:23am I going to make it or am I not?
- 30:28Yeah, the WWE has this.
- 30:30You have to be an athlete
- 30:31and an actor at the same time.
- 30:33You do.
- 30:34And that lends itself to
- 30:37this type of a show.
- 30:39But the voice does it with singing, right?
- 30:45American Idol's done it for years.
- 30:48Hell, The Bachelor does it with love.
- 30:50Why couldn't you do it with
- 30:53a potential CrossFit Games athlete?
- 30:58And who knows,
- 30:59maybe it's a way to find
- 31:04hidden talent out there in
- 31:05the world that maybe
- 31:07they're really athletic or
- 31:09they're really good at something,
- 31:10but they just need refined
- 31:12in a couple areas.
- 31:14It's a way for a coach to
- 31:15kind of like dig through
- 31:16the rubble and kind of figure out what,
- 31:22is there someone out there
- 31:23that maybe you could coach like that?
- 31:29Andrew, I'm not saying CrossFit HQ.
- 31:36I'm saying like if I'm
- 31:38underdogs or if I'm TTT or
- 31:40if I'm HWPO or proven or do
- 31:45my own little thing,
- 31:46do my own show to recruit
- 31:48someone to be a member of
- 31:50my training camp.
- 31:56And you as a coach are
- 31:57picking the best athlete
- 31:59that you want to move on,
- 32:01that you want to coach for the next year,
- 32:03that you think has the
- 32:04potential to be successful.
- 32:06I'm not trying to cheapen anything.
- 32:08I'm trying to, like,
- 32:11bring eyeballs to the game
- 32:13in a format that people are
- 32:15used to watching these days.
- 32:18You know,
- 32:18we can't run out the same type of
- 32:21documentary that we have for years.
- 32:24We need to do something new.
- 32:28I think something like that
- 32:31would draw eyeballs to the
- 32:32sport at the very least.
- 32:34I think it's worth a shot.
- 32:39Um, and if done well, could, could lead to,
- 32:43even if you get a couple of seasons of it,
- 32:44a people watching it, it's,
- 32:46it's a way to discover new talent.
- 32:48It's a way to get the names
- 32:50of these lesser known athletes out there.
- 32:54Um,
- 32:58I don't know.
- 32:59I think I came up with a pretty cool idea.
- 33:02But even if it's not that,
- 33:04maybe something else.
- 33:05I just keep looking around
- 33:06and I see all these shows
- 33:08where we're like narrowing
- 33:09down this field to one
- 33:11person who gets all of this.
- 33:14Why can't we do that in the
- 33:15CrossFit space at not an HQ level,
- 33:18but at a training camp level?
- 33:20And you get to work with
- 33:21that training camp for the upcoming year.
- 33:25And let's see how successful you are.
- 33:32Just a thought.
- 33:34A couple pennies of my thought out there.
- 33:44Speaking of underdogs and Justin Cutler,
- 33:47he will be on our airwaves
- 33:49on Thursday at three p.m.
- 33:52Eastern time.
- 33:54And we'll ask him what
- 33:56happened with Ricky.
- 33:58We will see what's going on
- 33:59with Alex Kazan, Sarah Sigmund's daughter,
- 34:02and what his underdogs camp
- 34:06looks like at the current time.
- 34:09Because everything changes
- 34:10so much in the offseason.
- 34:12And then we're going to talk
- 34:13to him about...
- 34:14The multiple seasons and
- 34:16what's an approach a coach
- 34:17would take with all that now?
- 34:20How do you train an athlete
- 34:22for the WFP and the
- 34:26CrossFit game season if
- 34:28your athlete's doing both?
- 34:31And that's an if.
- 34:31I know Alex Kazan signed with the WFP.
- 34:36I don't know if she's doing
- 34:39the Open or not.
- 34:44And he's also had
- 34:45affiliations with the PFAA.
- 34:47I have some questions for him there.
- 34:50So I think it's going to be
- 34:53an interesting conversation.
- 34:55So make sure to check that out.
- 34:57Justin Kotler with us Thursday afternoon,
- 35:00three p.m.
- 35:01Eastern time, noon Pacific.
- 35:05Other than that, I'm going to let you go.
- 35:09I got to get back to work with that.
- 35:15Time to get back to work, you hooligans.
- 35:17Lunchtime is over.
- 35:20See you guys tomorrow.
- 35:21Peace out.
