- 0:00Speaker 1: Don't you latte sipping leeches?
- 0:01Speaker 2: Understand they've seen enough of these Hollywood super hunks. We
- 0:06Speaker 2: need a don't be unappealing loser and every man.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Can you help me out any change for a dollar? Oh?
- 0:14Speaker 3: I also need a dollar?
- 0:24Speaker 4: You are acceptable?
- 0:26Speaker 3: Ray? Do you want to see me naked?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Oh?
- 0:28Speaker 4: There's no nudity in this movie?
- 0:29Speaker 1: What movie?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Four Finger Discount?
- 0:32Speaker 1: Dude, Welcome to four Finger Discount where today we're gonna
- 0:50Speaker 1: be kicking off season twenty one of the show. We're
- 0:53Speaker 1: gonna be reviewing Homer and the Whopper.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I'm Dando and I am guy. Nice to be here
- 0:56Speaker 4: for season twenty one. Can you believe we've made it this?
- 1:00Speaker 1: I actually can't believe it. We've been doing this show
- 1:02Speaker 1: now for ten years. Fourth Finger Discounts have been on
- 1:04Speaker 1: the air for ten and a half years, season twenty
- 1:06Speaker 1: one of the show. I had no idea'd last this
- 1:08Speaker 1: long doing the show. And now we're getting incredible guest
- 1:11Speaker 1: stars coming on to review the episodes with us as well.
- 1:12Speaker 4: We really are. Yeah. Yes, we've had comedians, We've had
- 1:15Speaker 4: authors and that's it plenty.
- 1:19Speaker 1: We feel like comedians are the best guests for podcasts.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It's just it's their domain these days. I think podcasts
- 1:24Speaker 1: would know.
- 1:24Speaker 4: We say this, will all do respect to the author
- 1:26Speaker 4: that we had on No. No, We've had terrific guests
- 1:28Speaker 4: so far.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It works for a funny, it works for a placket
- 1:30Speaker 1: does podcasts as well. So you know that's correct.
- 1:32Speaker 4: He knows, he knows the drill.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Mellan Siegel. Yes, the ringer.
- 1:35Speaker 4: You've gone through your rolodex, you've gone through your folder,
- 1:37Speaker 4: and you've been hassling people. We've been sliding into dms
- 1:40Speaker 4: every day. I'm hustling every day, you're hustling. Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And the new format here at Fourth Finger Discount is
- 1:46Speaker 1: basically we're going to be as I just meet my
- 1:47Speaker 1: phone is. We're going to be doing season twenty one
- 1:51Speaker 1: as we usually do, and then we're going to be
- 1:53Speaker 1: getting either bi weekly at least once a month, but
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm thinking maybe bi weekly doing the classic reviews, but
- 1:58Speaker 1: with guests. And you would have known. Last week we
- 2:01Speaker 1: had Tom Wikimon, comedian Nina Oyama. She came on to
- 2:04Speaker 1: review scenes of the class struggle in Springfield. That's going
- 2:06Speaker 1: to be coming up in your feeds. We've got people
- 2:08Speaker 1: like Ed Cavalley coming on. Yes, I'm surprised. I want
- 2:11Speaker 1: to leak them all, but there's just some of the
- 2:12Speaker 1: names that are coming up on four figured this game.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Please don't leak. And also, is this just an excuse
- 2:17Speaker 4: not to talk about season twenty one?
- 2:18Speaker 1: No, it's not at all. It's I found honestly, it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: just the way it's going to work is that you
- 2:22Speaker 1: look at the stats and people are less interested in
- 2:25Speaker 1: listening to season twenty one reviews as are the classic ones.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And that just makes sense. We grew up in the
- 2:30Speaker 1: classic ones. We love the classic ones. But I just
- 2:32Speaker 1: want to something different, you know, as good as as
- 2:35Speaker 1: good as it's like you and I bantering with that chemistry,
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's like, let's get guests on. I want to hear
- 2:40Speaker 1: what other people think about the Simpsons as well.
- 2:41Speaker 4: The great thing is about science. The great thinking about
- 2:43Speaker 4: chemistry is the more elements you add, the more interesting
- 2:45Speaker 4: it becomes. Yeah, so that's true. That's true. Sorry, I'm
- 2:47Speaker 4: just checking my phone is on mute as well.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, is it? It was? It was okay cool? Yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 1: but yeah, as I said, we're here to review Homer
- 2:55Speaker 1: the Whopper. You were saying to me a couple of
- 2:57Speaker 1: days ago that you did not like this one, or
- 2:58Speaker 1: you actually messed me last night saying it is just shit.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It just me it was his shit, and I was like,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I don't think it was shit. I watched him bet
- 3:03Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was all right.
- 3:05Speaker 4: And everything's better when you're in bed.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, and then I rewatching it again today
- 3:09Speaker 1: taking my notes, and yeah, I thought it was fine.
- 3:11Speaker 1: There's for a season premiere. It did its job. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: like that, even though because this was written by Seth
- 3:17Speaker 1: Rogen and Evan Goldberg, exactly right, And I just thought
- 3:20Speaker 1: that I'm glad that even though he was a voice
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the episode, they didn't incorporate or set didn't incorporate
- 3:26Speaker 1: himself as a as a person into the episode, because
- 3:29Speaker 1: apparently they're massive fanboys that just recently made Super Bad.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Symptons were big fans are super Bad. He was working
- 3:34Speaker 1: on The Green Hornet at the time when he was
- 3:36Speaker 1: writing this episode, and he just thought, well, hey, Ricky
- 3:38Speaker 1: Gervais was able to write an episode and be in it,
- 3:40Speaker 1: maybe I can do so as well, which I think
- 3:42Speaker 1: is a little bit like a bit of a little bit.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yeah, they're like a movie that they probably watched Take
- 3:49Speaker 4: My Wife Please or whatever time episode was, Well, we
- 3:52Speaker 4: can certainly do better than this.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Well, I live by the motto of the worst I
- 3:56Speaker 1: can say is no. So I figured, if you've got
- 3:57Speaker 1: the opportunity to ask, and I just think this walking
- 3:59Speaker 1: on saying can I write an episode just seems like
- 4:01Speaker 1: not as Hey, can I be involved in some way?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Can I write an episode? Please?
- 4:05Speaker 4: It does help. If you are the writers of super Bad,
- 4:09Speaker 4: probably the best teen comedy of the twenty first century,
- 4:14Speaker 4: you reckon, Oh yeah, I'll stand by that.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Well, they don't make them anymore. That's the problem writers
- 4:19Speaker 1: these days. They have the opportunity to create the next one.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That is true, they still make them. They're a little
- 4:24Speaker 1: more under the radar, but not on the level is
- 4:26Speaker 1: super Bad, not as widely distributed and widely seene this
- 4:29Speaker 1: suddenly super Bad. But even putting that aside, Soper bad
- 4:33Speaker 1: really really good movie.
- 4:34Speaker 4: James L. Brooks thought so as well. I understand he
- 4:36Speaker 4: was a fan or he admired it. So he listened
- 4:40Speaker 4: to Seth and Evan. So yeah, by man is coming
- 4:43Speaker 4: to the writer's room throws some ideas around. See what happens?
- 4:46Speaker 4: What happened? They got to write an episode.
- 4:48Speaker 1: To episode several stories and they're like no, no, no, no, no,
- 4:50Speaker 1: this one they approved.
- 4:51Speaker 4: That's this one they approved of. And it's good that
- 4:54Speaker 4: you mentioned. Yes, Seth also voices a character in this.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I think one thing that the Sting wishes his performance
- 5:01Speaker 4: in this and their role in this from the aforementioned
- 5:04Speaker 4: Ricky devays is that when Ricky did his bit or
- 5:08Speaker 4: Mate did his guest appearance, he was basically David Brent.
- 5:11Speaker 4: He's just been the office. Yeah, there was no variation
- 5:14Speaker 4: or anything like that. Whereas you recognize Seth Rogan's voice
- 5:18Speaker 4: when you know the second year, it's very very distinctive.
- 5:20Speaker 4: But yeah, he's not doing the traditional Seth Rogan stuff.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I mean, this was very much in the phase of
- 5:25Speaker 4: or very much in the era of Pineapple Express. Yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 4: it's the time when Seth Rogan was what we traditionally
- 5:32Speaker 4: think of a Seth rogen kind of the getting high
- 5:36Speaker 4: manchild kind of deal.
- 5:38Speaker 1: That was just him from the get go. Right, Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 1: he's not really that anymore. No, he's very much a
- 5:43Speaker 1: power player in Hollywood. He's very much sort of a ya,
- 5:45Speaker 1: pivotal power player. But in this he's playing this personal trainer.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He's got Seth's traditional good comic timing, good comic delivery,
- 5:55Speaker 1: all that stuff. But yeah, he's not the No, No,
- 5:58Speaker 1: he's not. Yeah, replaying the character that he was best
- 6:02Speaker 1: known for. I think I really liked him in Knocked Up.
- 6:05Speaker 4: He's very good knocked Up.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, super relatable.
- 6:09Speaker 4: I've got a bit of time for Seth Rogen as
- 6:11Speaker 4: an actor and a creative person. He's done, yeah, roles
- 6:16Speaker 4: that are not comedic. I mean, he's in Steve Jobs,
- 6:19Speaker 4: the movie about the legendary founder of Apple or creator
- 6:23Speaker 4: of Apple products. He plays like Steve wisney Ack. And
- 6:25Speaker 4: that was a really good performance. I mean, and he's
- 6:26Speaker 4: up again. People like Kate Winslet, Michael Faspener, very good actor.
- 6:29Speaker 4: He's in The Fableman's, the Steven Spielberg movie, giving a
- 6:32Speaker 4: legitimately good dramatic performance. He's a solid dude, solid creative dude.
- 6:36Speaker 1: He's the man behind the upcoming reboot of Dark Wing
- 6:39Speaker 1: Duck Well.
- 6:40Speaker 4: He does like his popular culture stuff. I mean, I
- 6:42Speaker 4: think we were talking about this earlier. He rebooted Teenage
- 6:44Speaker 4: Mint Nindaturd.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Boy, did he Yeah, he's behind the Boys, He's behind Preacher.
- 6:49Speaker 4: He's got the show on Apple TV called the Studio.
- 6:51Speaker 4: That's very, very popular and attracted a lot of great
- 6:53Speaker 4: talent to it. Man, dude knows this stuff.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But this this episode here, Home of the Whopper. As
- 6:58Speaker 1: I say, I enjoyed it for the most part. I've
- 7:00Speaker 1: met it no secret on this podcast. And I'm not
- 7:01Speaker 1: the biggest superhero guy, you know. I've just never I
- 7:04Speaker 1: liked Batman Forever and Batman Returns and Batman was the
- 7:07Speaker 1: other Batman Robin. I like those movies. Yes, I've just
- 7:11Speaker 1: never been a big comic book guy superhero guy. And
- 7:13Speaker 1: then when they started making all these MCU films, it
- 7:15Speaker 1: was like I just could not give a shit. I
- 7:17Speaker 1: know they're huge, but I just don't give a shit. Right,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I'm glad that people are finally starting to have burnout
- 7:21Speaker 1: and we're moving on from superhero movies. This one here,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I've read that it was meant to be sort of
- 7:26Speaker 1: a parody of the way superhero movies have ruined in
- 7:28Speaker 1: Hollywood at that point in time, and I'm like, but
- 7:30Speaker 1: were they? Were they the biggest thing in the world. Well,
- 7:33Speaker 1: this is two thousand and nine, okay, So MCU was
- 7:37Speaker 1: just down together. It was two thousand and eight, wasn't
- 7:39Speaker 1: it Okay?
- 7:40Speaker 4: Well, you coming off two thousand and eight big year
- 7:42Speaker 4: in terms of like iman big hit, everyone loves our
- 7:45Speaker 4: DJs as that was a big one. But also that
- 7:48Speaker 4: year was Dark Knight, and everyone's kind of looking at
- 7:51Speaker 4: that as like, well, comic book movies, the net just
- 7:54Speaker 4: be kids in he moo it. Everyone's looking at what
- 7:57Speaker 4: this is a legitimately good movie. Dark Knight is pretty good.
- 8:00Speaker 4: It's pretty good movie. But I think, yeah, a lot
- 8:02Speaker 4: of people are looking at that being the pivot point
- 8:04Speaker 4: of like, yeah, you can actually make huge blockbuses that
- 8:08Speaker 4: are also artistically credible. It felt like a real seed
- 8:12Speaker 4: change in a lot of ways.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Call me in the minority. Christopher Nolan did more damage
- 8:17Speaker 1: to the superhero genre than anyone else in the history
- 8:19Speaker 1: of superhero films. Like everything has to be fucking sad
- 8:22Speaker 1: and gloomy because of Christopher Nolan. Great movies, but everyone
- 8:24Speaker 1: tried to copy it after that.
- 8:26Speaker 4: That's the thing. Yes, everyone's sort of jumping on the
- 8:27Speaker 4: bandwagon after that. I would say Zack Snyder has probably
- 8:30Speaker 4: caused more damage because he tried because Nolan did. That's
- 8:34Speaker 4: the thing. He did the same thing tonally, but he
- 8:36Speaker 4: didn't have the intelligence that Christopher Nolan had.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But if no one didn't do what he did. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: granted they were good, they were great films. Do I
- 8:42Speaker 1: ever want to revisit them? Probably not, But like they
- 8:44Speaker 1: were great at the time, he got Heath Legend, that
- 8:46Speaker 1: Oscar that he was looking for, it just ruined. It
- 8:49Speaker 1: ruined the genre for me. Granted the MCU didn't really
- 8:52Speaker 1: go down that path. It's more DC.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm inclined to say that the mc you may
- 8:57Speaker 4: have done more damage in terms of everyone. Everything has
- 9:00Speaker 4: to be connected. Yeah, yeah, you can't just have sort
- 9:03Speaker 4: of standalone movies.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Now I can get the true Yeah, I think that.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I think that's probably more damaged. And I'm all for
- 9:11Speaker 1: having sequels and that's continuing your story. They don't have
- 9:15Speaker 1: the Spider Man films be connected to the fucking other
- 9:18Speaker 1: films I am man.
- 9:19Speaker 4: And that's why it's sort of falling apart. Now, that
- 9:21Speaker 4: was lightning in a bottle. I mean, I'll give Kevin
- 9:24Speaker 4: Fagey's props and all the creative team who put all
- 9:27Speaker 4: that shit together and made it work the way I did.
- 9:30Speaker 4: They should have either stopped well, they shouldn't have stopped.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Completely the Seinfeld model though, Yeah, go out when you're
- 9:35Speaker 1: on top, try something different, take a break, to take
- 9:39Speaker 1: a break. We keep doing this film, but don't trying
- 9:41Speaker 1: and say, oh, we're still part of this is still
- 9:42Speaker 1: part of the MC is just the next name.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Just make it good, just reboot, just like start over.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Yeah, because if you'd ended it endgame, people would have gone, whoa, yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 4: what an ending. And now it's just gonna like everything's
- 9:55Speaker 4: tainted as a result. It's a shame. But yeah, as
- 9:59Speaker 4: you mentioned, even Seth Throgan was getting in on the game.
- 10:02Speaker 1: The Green Hornet.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Yeah, the Green Hornet was a character that had been
- 10:05Speaker 4: around for ages.
- 10:07Speaker 1: What is the Green Hornet.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Well, he's basically a knockoff Batman in terms of like
- 10:11Speaker 4: he I think Green hornets alter ego is like this
- 10:16Speaker 4: big city socialite type wants to fight crime. He's not
- 10:21Speaker 4: that well known. I don't know that much about his backstory,
- 10:24Speaker 4: but I know that he does have an Asian sidekick
- 10:26Speaker 4: who basically does a lot of the heavy lifting. There
- 10:30Speaker 4: was a TV series about the Green Hornet back in
- 10:32Speaker 4: the late sixties. The reason anyone talks about it is
- 10:36Speaker 4: because Bruce Lee played, is he really yeah, wow, okay,
- 10:39Speaker 4: your green Hornet.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You got Kato, and Kato is his sort of when
- 10:43Speaker 1: they're in their secret identities or whatever, he's kind of
- 10:47Speaker 1: like his man servant or his valet or something. But
- 10:48Speaker 1: he's also yeah, it's his martial arts kick very much.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Except yeah, I mean, I can't for the life of
- 10:55Speaker 1: me remember who played the green Hornet in the TV series.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But it was like, we don't give a fuck about
- 10:59Speaker 1: that guy. Look at this Bruce Lee character. Holy shite.
- 11:03Speaker 4: So but he was very much sorry.
- 11:06Speaker 1: He was similar to what he was going through because
- 11:07Speaker 1: they were telling him to lose weight for the film.
- 11:09Speaker 4: That'st thing. Yeah, Seth Rogan. That was generally regarded as, oh, yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 4: it'll smoke a jay and eed a cheezburger, and that's
- 11:17Speaker 4: what a guy who lives that kind of lifestyle looks like.
- 11:21Speaker 4: We can have that when you're you're gonna be the
- 11:23Speaker 4: green HUINNI don't know why I put that voice on,
- 11:25Speaker 4: but yeah, So they made him hit the gym and
- 11:28Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff. But they make everybody hit
- 11:31Speaker 4: the gym even though you don't really need to.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I disagree.
- 11:35Speaker 4: There was there were so many characters, so many superhero
- 11:38Speaker 4: characters who don't have to take their shirts up. I
- 11:40Speaker 4: want to run one particular instance by you. Are you
- 11:44Speaker 4: familiar with the MCU movie The Eternals or I haven't
- 11:47Speaker 4: watched you know what it is? Yeah? No, that's that's
- 11:52Speaker 4: This one had Summerhig Angelia and Jolie, Richard Madden from
- 11:56Speaker 4: Game of Thrones, and a comic actor nam Kamal Nanjiani.
- 11:59Speaker 4: He was the cover of Men's Health not long after
- 12:01Speaker 4: he was announced that he's in the Eternals looking fucking
- 12:05Speaker 4: jack but also just looking like I don't believe that's
- 12:08Speaker 4: I think you might have had a little pharmaceutical help
- 12:10Speaker 4: with that, and you've had a lot of people behind
- 12:11Speaker 4: the scenes say yeah, everyone gets roided up to do this.
- 12:15Speaker 4: He doesn't take your shirt off at any stage during
- 12:18Speaker 4: that During that thing, he doesn't need to be as
- 12:20Speaker 4: built as he is.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Does, but does he look built and strong even with
- 12:23Speaker 1: his shirt on though well he's.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Wearing he's not wearing anything that's form fitting or anything
- 12:28Speaker 4: like that. I mean you you can sort of tell
- 12:30Speaker 4: in his face that these jawel lines a little more pronounced,
- 12:32Speaker 4: and he's got cheap bones and things like that, but.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Does the hero that he's portraying in the comic.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Doesn't even really do anything like lift a planet or
- 12:40Speaker 4: even lift anything all that heavy.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I still ideas there's an image that's expected for superheroes,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and if you want to play that role, then you've
- 12:47Speaker 1: got to look. You gotta look. Oh certain, look, I'm
- 12:50Speaker 1: buying into that mantra.
- 12:52Speaker 4: I think in the cases of the let's talk about
- 12:54Speaker 4: the NCU. I think in the case of Chris Evans's
- 12:57Speaker 4: Captain America, of course in it, because yeah, he's a
- 13:00Speaker 4: ninety eight pound winkling or something. He comes, he takes
- 13:03Speaker 4: a super serum, comes out of the machine. Holy moly,
- 13:06Speaker 4: look at that. I mean, once an agent, Carter just
- 13:09Speaker 4: can't get a hands off him. And Thor's thought, so
- 13:12Speaker 4: Hamsworth has to look like it was already in pretty
- 13:14Speaker 4: good shape. But you know, I don't think Ruffalo hit
- 13:17Speaker 4: the gym all that much. RDJ was apparently it was
- 13:20Speaker 4: never a superhero. Bristband wasn't super hull. That's a good point. Yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 4: I think r DJ, you didn't really see him with
- 13:26Speaker 4: his shirt of all that much, but it was clear
- 13:28Speaker 4: that he'd been hitting the gym as well.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He didn't really look jacked, looked lent h.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, apparently Seth. They were like bulk up man.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, even though in The Green Horn, at the
- 13:42Speaker 4: best of my reaction, because I watched it once and
- 13:44Speaker 4: they've watched it again, appears in some well tailored suits,
- 13:47Speaker 4: but yeah, yeah, you don't have the sort of hero
- 13:49Speaker 4: shot of him sort of walking around with his shirt.
- 13:50Speaker 4: It was like, wow, Seth's got abs.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Anything with the green in it, I've never seen. I've
- 13:55Speaker 1: just heard it's terrible Greenhorn. I've heard it's not good,
- 13:57Speaker 1: the Green Lent, and I've heard it's horrific.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Green Land's not great.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Which I was disappointed for because I was a big
- 14:02Speaker 1: Ryan Reynolds fan when I was a kid, because I
- 14:04Speaker 1: love two guys again Pizza Play Smart and another. I
- 14:05Speaker 1: just just enjoyed his style of comedy. And then I
- 14:08Speaker 1: saw him as the green Land and I was like
- 14:10Speaker 1: superhero though, yeah, not buying. And then of course he
- 14:13Speaker 1: works for Deadpool, not because he comes across a superhero,
- 14:15Speaker 1: because he's a smart ass. Well that's the works.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Yeah. I haven't read any Deadpool comics, so I mean,
- 14:19Speaker 4: I don't know how close as Deadpool become more Ryan Reynolds.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Deadpool was a wise ass de wise Yeah, but
- 14:27Speaker 1: that brand as he tailored it more to the Ryan
- 14:30Speaker 1: Reynolds kind of smart and stick. Oh no, they are
- 14:34Speaker 1: a match made in heaven. They really were. Yeah, it
- 14:36Speaker 1: just starts the line. But yeah, but this best episode,
- 14:38Speaker 1: he is more focusing on Homer's forced he gets cast
- 14:41Speaker 1: as every man. A new superhero movie has just been created,
- 14:44Speaker 1: which was written by comic book guy. Yeah, he's been
- 14:46Speaker 1: written writing comics for all these years. He can'ts Homer
- 14:49Speaker 1: as the as leading role. I did like that.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Well, he wants an every man as everything as every.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Man, and it makes sense because you know, that's the
- 14:55Speaker 1: idea of it. He's meant to be an everything. But
- 14:56Speaker 1: the thing is in the comics, though, doesn't he He
- 14:58Speaker 1: looks fat and then he becomes every man. He's fit.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I don't think he is, That's the thing.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I mean, I thought that bank robbery scene was he No, no,
- 15:07Speaker 1: he was still He's still the same but the same. Okay, Yeah, he's.
- 15:10Speaker 4: In his every man costume, but still he's still around,
- 15:12Speaker 4: still around, Yeah okay, but and even when he touches
- 15:15Speaker 4: the Iron Man comic, because every Man's powers is he
- 15:17Speaker 4: touches the comic book and he can take on the
- 15:19Speaker 4: power of that of that comic books. So he touches
- 15:22Speaker 4: an Iron Man comic, he gets a suit of armor instantly,
- 15:26Speaker 4: but it's a fat suit of armor.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It actually was a good, believable way to get Homer
- 15:30Speaker 1: cast into the role of a superhero. Sure, because that
- 15:32Speaker 1: makes sense. He's every man, right, and comic book guy
- 15:34Speaker 1: is the one that cast him, you know, and hope
- 15:36Speaker 1: it was good at his role. He was good. He
- 15:38Speaker 1: had everything going for me. He had a guy who
- 15:39Speaker 1: was helping him lose weight, Marge fandim more attractive now,
- 15:42Speaker 1: which will touch on in a few moments as well.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Everything was going well for him, and I think it
- 15:46Speaker 1: was really relatable because what was his library? He says,
- 15:48Speaker 1: just swallowing my frustrations and disappointments.
- 15:51Speaker 4: We've all been there, Oh my goodness, yes, oh yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 4: we've all been comforted is it one time? Yeah? Comfort consumers? Yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Or we go on a diet and we lose some
- 15:59Speaker 1: weight and it's like you get tempted by the cheese
- 16:01Speaker 1: on the tables the party. You're like, just what's one
- 16:03Speaker 1: block going to do? And then you start you feel
- 16:05Speaker 1: and you're.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Like, the tiny cubes even has cheap days.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, So I just thought it was pretty relatable
- 16:11Speaker 1: in this Schwartzenegger exactly right. Yes, I thought he was. Yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 1: they did a good job of making a home to
- 16:17Speaker 1: come across as sympathetic. Yeah, and I'm glad they didn't
- 16:20Speaker 1: touch too much on the Marge story where she found
- 16:23Speaker 1: him more sexually appealing and whatnot, cause I just think
- 16:25Speaker 1: it made her come across quite that's the word superficial,
- 16:29Speaker 1: a little shallow. But you know, but that's believable as well,
- 16:31Speaker 1: because you just we're humans, man, we're animals, and if
- 16:35Speaker 1: your partner looks like that, of course he's gonna find
- 16:37Speaker 1: them more sexually attracted. Yeah, it's good though. Do you
- 16:41Speaker 1: think there was a story there where maybe Marge was
- 16:43Speaker 1: disappointed that he gained weight again and they cut it
- 16:45Speaker 1: because because she just got knocked out by the button
- 16:48Speaker 1: she goes. I think if you just gained a little
- 16:49Speaker 1: bit of weight and then he was just like bloot
- 16:51Speaker 1: wing win win, and that was it. We never see
- 16:53Speaker 1: Marge again.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I felt like there's like that story didn't get a
- 16:57Speaker 1: proper end.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I don't think it was all that well developed to
- 16:59Speaker 4: begin with, and all honestly, I mean, I don't think
- 17:01Speaker 4: they were playing I don't.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Think the whole ending was pretty rushed.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Really, oh goodness, I don't think Rogan and Goldberg that
- 17:06Speaker 4: seth Th and Evan were I think they were prioritizing
- 17:09Speaker 4: gags more than they were character development in a lot
- 17:12Speaker 4: of those situations. Certainly with the rest of the Simpsons family.
- 17:15Speaker 1: There definitely need to be more comic book guy as well,
- 17:17Speaker 1: because they showed him he's Hollywood now and he had
- 17:19Speaker 1: the camp orphan and whatnot, and it doesn't appear to
- 17:22Speaker 1: the end.
- 17:22Speaker 4: All that stuff. That felt kind of one note to
- 17:24Speaker 4: me him the orphan, all the all the comic book
- 17:28Speaker 4: guys stuff has gone Hollywood stuff. I didn't find it
- 17:31Speaker 4: all that insightful or insightfule.
- 17:33Speaker 1: What were they trying to say with this episode?
- 17:35Speaker 4: I have no idea. I mean, I look, I probably
- 17:37Speaker 4: get some idea. Well, we'll work it out as we
- 17:39Speaker 4: discuss it, but I don't know that. I just had
- 17:43Speaker 4: it like South Park did it better with Awesome when
- 17:45Speaker 4: they were talking about we can't we've got good ideas,
- 17:48Speaker 4: we're smoke people should be but really, you just want
- 17:50Speaker 4: to churn out two hundred Adams Sandler movies because you
- 17:53Speaker 4: know that's the thing that's going.
- 17:54Speaker 1: To make money. Well, there was one part here where
- 17:55Speaker 1: I thought it was just so forced and bland and shit.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Was when the executive calls his signing and guess what's
- 18:01Speaker 1: that comic book got? It's only the coolest comic book
- 18:04Speaker 1: in the world, Dad, And I was like, oh my god,
- 18:07Speaker 1: this is so lazy.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Well yeah, even before that, were they're talking about, oh, okay,
- 18:10Speaker 4: what can we make a big summer franchise movie out
- 18:12Speaker 4: of a garage door? Opener's car keys.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Should be a question?
- 18:16Speaker 4: Gone there we go?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it was car keys and or
- 18:19Speaker 1: something else.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I can't remember the others. I'm pretty sure I got
- 18:21Speaker 4: one car Keys was in there. I don't. I think
- 18:23Speaker 4: I got the other one wrong.
- 18:26Speaker 1: My favorite favorite moments in the episode.
- 18:28Speaker 4: This is not so much about the episode as more
- 18:30Speaker 4: an alternative life for Guy, but imagine running a comic
- 18:33Speaker 4: book store. And I liked the little montage of the
- 18:36Speaker 4: three comic book stores. I think one was called Odin's
- 18:38Speaker 4: Cave or something like that.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It's like I was Odins something.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Something of something. This isn't. Wasn't even when I was
- 18:44Speaker 4: growing up in Gelomba for a while there, but certainly
- 18:47Speaker 4: when I was a young teenager, you know, if you
- 18:49Speaker 4: wanted comic books, he had to had to go to Melbourne,
- 18:51Speaker 4: you know, and there was a shop, Minutetaur that had
- 18:53Speaker 4: that kind of thing. I remember the first time I
- 18:55Speaker 4: saw it, and.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It was in like it's pretty expensive now, oh, I'm.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Sure it is. The First time I saw it, that
- 19:00Speaker 4: was a tiny store in a little.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Arcade, so it wasn't down the escalator like it is now.
- 19:04Speaker 4: No, no, no, they had three different locations. I think
- 19:08Speaker 4: the first time I found it was almost by accident.
- 19:10Speaker 4: And I'm I'm recycling a line from when we spoke.
- 19:14Speaker 1: With Mania when I was the trading cards.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Yeah, but Discovery I felt like fucking Indian the Jones.
- 19:20Speaker 4: It was like, wait, everything I've ever wanted, Are you
- 19:24Speaker 4: telling me that it's just do with the gestos canic books? Yeah?
- 19:27Speaker 4: I was. It was wild. Then in my late teenage years,
- 19:32Speaker 4: Minotaur opened a store in Geelong.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I was like, really Geelong, Yeah it was.
- 19:36Speaker 4: It was in Marble.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Straight where I think there's like a place then, which
- 19:41Speaker 1: which part is very locals.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Between Rory and Little Mallopa in the middle. Yeah yeah, yeah, wow.
- 19:49Speaker 4: On the on the left hand side is you're heading
- 19:52Speaker 4: down to the water.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, so very much near where pop culture used
- 19:55Speaker 1: to be. Yeah yeah yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 4: And was it just where pop culture used to be? No, no,
- 19:59Speaker 4: it was about it was a two or three doors up.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Okay, it's all wow wow. You know, I have no
- 20:03Speaker 1: memories of that.
- 20:05Speaker 4: And I think it did okay for a couple of years,
- 20:07Speaker 4: but you know, Geelong didn't have a sort of geeky
- 20:09Speaker 4: enough population would do well now to sustain it. Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 4: But then there was another little store that opened up
- 20:15Speaker 4: that did comic books and sci fi you know, paperbacks
- 20:17Speaker 4: and all that kind of stuff. And it was near
- 20:18Speaker 4: where the Village cinema. It's almost on the corner.
- 20:21Speaker 1: You know, there's the Macas, I mean, the Italian like
- 20:24Speaker 1: tattooist place.
- 20:25Speaker 4: That it's misstaffers. Now. I think it's that's.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Like, yeah, you always talking about across the road that
- 20:30Speaker 1: you didn't It's like says Barber, but there's a lot
- 20:33Speaker 1: of old Italians in here just playing cards all right.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Used to be above that. That was great. I love that,
- 20:41Speaker 4: but but it was a tiny place, but it was
- 20:42Speaker 4: like wall to War with books and comic books and
- 20:45Speaker 4: just nerd a theme around. I'm like, this is what
- 20:48Speaker 4: I'd loved.
- 20:48Speaker 1: What a location too for like near the movies.
- 20:50Speaker 4: And absolutely I'd love to just have this. This is
- 20:54Speaker 4: the place I'd love to run. You know, I'd probably
- 20:56Speaker 4: sell like two books a day, two books a week,
- 20:59Speaker 4: like thank you love it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Even though one of my favorite moments was running the
- 21:02Speaker 1: comic book store. Customers, how I hate them?
- 21:06Speaker 4: That's the thing probably you wan to base.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Hit you just he's just trying to customers how I
- 21:11Speaker 1: hate them.
- 21:14Speaker 4: But I just like I liked a little bit with
- 21:16Speaker 4: just all these comic books, and you felt the affection
- 21:19Speaker 4: that I guess Rogan and Goldberg had for those kinds
- 21:22Speaker 4: of things. They seem like happy places, and the people
- 21:25Speaker 4: who ran them seem like.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We all know it is. We all have fond memories
- 21:29Speaker 1: of being there as a kid. So it just reminds
- 21:31Speaker 1: us of those that feeling, like you said, seeing being
- 21:34Speaker 1: Indiana Jones and discovering like the gem. Right, that's that's
- 21:37Speaker 1: that's the film that store brings back to you. So
- 21:39Speaker 1: that those stores though, that is they bring happiness. Absolutely
- 21:42Speaker 1: it's just it's just everything you want under one roof.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Speaking of happiness. This may be one of my favorite
- 21:47Speaker 1: Homer gags in a while, right the yo yo diet,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I've got yo yo heart doge man.
- 21:54Speaker 4: That's great. You don't get it, you don't, you don't
- 21:56Speaker 4: know what you mean.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Your heart man. I did not see that coming that.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I've never heard that joke before.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I've got to give yeah, I'll give seth And even
- 22:06Speaker 4: there problems like did some really good just traditional sitcom
- 22:10Speaker 4: gags right here? That was one of them. And something
- 22:12Speaker 4: else I liked was when Homer came into the audition.
- 22:14Speaker 4: It's like I need change for dollar, also need a.
- 22:18Speaker 1: That's classic.
- 22:19Speaker 4: That's classic.
- 22:20Speaker 1: So yeah, very much, yo dog man.
- 22:23Speaker 4: I thought this is a really good visual gag as well,
- 22:25Speaker 4: when Homer drinks the ancient but silence and the silent
- 22:31Speaker 4: puke expedience, the sound much better without the sound work
- 22:34Speaker 4: better without the sound. That was well done. I thought
- 22:35Speaker 4: that was great. There are other things that I like,
- 22:38Speaker 4: but I think I'm going to talk about them throughout
- 22:40Speaker 4: the My final.
- 22:41Speaker 1: One is just when Bart pokes the bear and just
- 22:45Speaker 1: coming book guys, rage over this spider Man, what do
- 22:49Speaker 1: you mean just I think I just find Coming Book
- 22:54Speaker 1: Guys so much more funny, and now the order I get,
- 22:56Speaker 1: It's just it's so relatable with him going to rest
- 22:58Speaker 1: on the unused whole can ends and left only because
- 23:01Speaker 1: they were a huge thing, was a big deal. When
- 23:04Speaker 1: two thousand and three came out, every kid had the Hohllecans. Absolutely, yeah, exactly.

- 23:34Speaker 3: Next question, you there eating the Beast?
- 23:37Speaker 1: All right, trivia time hit me with your first question
- 23:39Speaker 1: because you've taken my one of the.
- 23:41Speaker 4: I've got a few here. What is the subtitle for
- 23:45Speaker 4: Alvin and the Chipmunks three Getting Rabies correct? What is
- 23:48Speaker 4: episode seven of Star Wars The Apology?
- 23:50Speaker 1: The Apology? Yes, it was what two thousand and nine?
- 23:53Speaker 1: So little they know what a six years later we'd
- 23:56Speaker 1: have seven, you would have the apology. Yeah, yeah, the
- 24:00Speaker 1: apology was it? Yeah? I think that is the we
- 24:02Speaker 1: neat we still wait for that apology.
- 24:05Speaker 4: The first time that Homer is in character as every Man,
- 24:09Speaker 4: which villain? Has he just vanquished?
- 24:12Speaker 1: When you in character days just vanquished somebody?
- 24:14Speaker 4: Yeah, they've started filming the movie and it's it's.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Just because he's Captain America's patriotism and what Norman's boots? Yeah? Yeah, no,
- 24:23Speaker 1: what is it?
- 24:23Speaker 4: The character was called the Purple Pariah.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Purple Pariah. Okay. My next question for you is how
- 24:29Speaker 1: much is a mint condition first Spider Man, Well, amazing
- 24:33Speaker 1: Fantasy number fifteen, it goes.
- 24:35Speaker 4: For forty fourteen fourteen, okay for fourteen.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Maybe it's forty forty or fourteen either way.
- 24:41Speaker 4: How much was it initially though?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Twelve cents? Yeah?
- 24:45Speaker 4: What make is Krusty's fax machine?
- 24:48Speaker 1: Obeama something? Omega? Omega? No, it's Amiga Amiga Okay, I
- 24:53Speaker 1: think of Omega. And finally, for me, give me just
- 24:57Speaker 1: one of the usernames that comic book guys Afraid that

- 28:34Speaker 1: So the original air date of this episode Home of
- 28:37Speaker 1: the Whopper was September twenty seventh, two thousand and nine.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I have no idea what films come out in two
- 28:42Speaker 1: thousand and nine. That's just way past my misia. But
- 28:45Speaker 1: let's let's have a stab in the dart. Two thousand
- 28:47Speaker 1: and nine. We Plantpole expressed that's twenty and ten.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I think I believe.
- 28:50Speaker 1: So yeah, let's go two thousand and nine. The top
- 28:52Speaker 1: three films at the US box office when this episode aired.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Number three was Fame, Number two were Surrogates, No idea
- 28:58Speaker 1: what Surrogates is? And number one was Cleared with a
- 29:01Speaker 1: Chance of Meatballs. They made two of those films.
- 29:03Speaker 4: They did indeed, my kids, Oh that's right. They did
- 29:05Speaker 4: a remake of Fame. Are you aware of the movie Fame?
- 29:09Speaker 4: Do you know that? You know the site Fame? Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 4: you're going to Live Forever.
- 29:13Speaker 1: It was really good movie preverty much like Grease? Right,
- 29:15Speaker 1: wasn't it a play?
- 29:16Speaker 4: Now? It was nothing like Grease?
- 29:17Speaker 1: No, no, it's not. It was a play and they
- 29:19Speaker 1: turned into a film, is that right?
- 29:20Speaker 4: No, Fame was never a play. No, No, Fame was
- 29:22Speaker 4: always a movie. Think became a TV of hair. You
- 29:26Speaker 4: might be thinking of hair spray, but except that. Oh no, yeah,
- 29:29Speaker 4: hair was a play and then it became.
- 29:30Speaker 1: A movie of hair one word, yeah, correct, But fame,
- 29:34Speaker 1: Fame was a was a play.
- 29:36Speaker 4: But look it could have been turned on some stage.
- 29:38Speaker 4: But yeah, really good.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Movie, the originally Live Forever.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Yes, I have not seen the remake, and sorrygets is
- 29:45Speaker 4: a Bruce Willis movie, so I'm assuming you've seen it.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Then? Yes, you said all of his films now really, yes,
- 29:52Speaker 1: I thought you would have seen him. Not all of them.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Not all of them are good, but do you see
- 29:56Speaker 1: all of up to a certain time, and he just went.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Some good ones that I haven't seen.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I've seen some Bruce Biller's films when I'm watching it
- 30:03Speaker 1: going even you know this is shit and you don't
- 30:04Speaker 1: even trying.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but you know the story about that, Well yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 4: I mean are you talking about like the much later ones.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Last even like twenty ten era?
- 30:14Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I mean I think it's I'm not sure
- 30:17Speaker 4: when Bruce realized that he had this deteriorating kind of
- 30:22Speaker 4: mental condition.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Oh really, I thought it was only in the last
- 30:24Speaker 1: few years that happened.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I'm not sure exactly when he sort of twigged to it,
- 30:29Speaker 4: but yeah, I mean, the general consensus is I'm going
- 30:32Speaker 4: to make as much money as I can, doing as
- 30:33Speaker 4: little work as possible, doing using the resources.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I have for the kids or whatever.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Yeah, basically to build that MySpace time kind of well yeah, yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 4: because I mean so many of us, and myself included,
- 30:44Speaker 4: because Bruce has always been my number one guy. I
- 30:47Speaker 4: was like, what the fuck are you doing, man, Bruce Willis,
- 30:49Speaker 4: You're better than this shit. And when it started to
- 30:51Speaker 4: come as like, yeah, he might be sort of losing it,
- 30:57Speaker 4: and you know he's working really hard to you know,
- 30:59Speaker 4: just put it much way scratched again with fun asshole.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah not him me, He went yeah, yeah, he went
- 31:05Speaker 1: to hospice care.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Yes, apparently, yeah, I mean his his wife Emma apparently
- 31:11Speaker 4: just filmed like a documentary about the or did like
- 31:14Speaker 4: a long form interview for some American TV.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Film a documentary about him, cause you would't had no idea?
- 31:19Speaker 4: Was no, no, no, I think it was more about
- 31:22Speaker 4: caring with someone who has this kind of condition or
- 31:24Speaker 4: this kind of advanced dementia.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Let's not talk about Bruce. Was it's too He has
- 31:28Speaker 1: no idea? Is movie starting now? Does he?
- 31:29Speaker 4: Oh? God, no, Yeah, it's really sad.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Yeah it is sad.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, shout out to your man, Bruce. Shouted
- 31:35Speaker 4: to my man Bruce. Yeah, it's not bad, it's bad. Yeah.
- 31:37Speaker 1: What is the brief synopsis? The brief one sentence? What
- 31:40Speaker 1: it give us? The TV guide synopsis.
- 31:44Speaker 4: In the future, you can have a robot look alike
- 31:46Speaker 4: of yourself that you kind of control, and it's like
- 31:49Speaker 4: the best looking version of you.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Done. That's all I need, That's all you need, except
- 31:53Speaker 1: there's also a Murdo.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Alright.
- 31:58Speaker 1: So the episode was written by.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, writers of Super Bad, Pineapple Express, Yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 4: and a partner on many things like the TV series
- 32:07Speaker 4: The Boys Preacher, The Studio on Apple TV Plus yeap workers, hard.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Workers, directed by Lance Kramer.
- 32:15Speaker 4: I know him.
- 32:18Speaker 1: The chopboard gave the class Hamster isn't just sleeping The
- 32:21Speaker 1: coush gag. The Simpsons arrive at a subway station where
- 32:23Speaker 1: the subway doors open to reveal their living room. They
- 32:25Speaker 1: hop in and it takes off. We also get a
- 32:28Speaker 1: billboard gag.
- 32:29Speaker 4: That's correct. If I kill you, you don't pay.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah, doctor Nick, that's right correct.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Yes, I had a trivia question related to the couch gag?
- 32:37Speaker 4: What was the number Springfield?
- 32:39Speaker 1: What was that?
- 32:40Speaker 4: Numbers?
- 32:41Speaker 1: Twenty one Springfield one, nine, two three nine? All right?
- 32:45Speaker 1: So he kicks off at androids dungeon. Guys writing something
- 32:49Speaker 1: but we don't know what it is yet, and bar
- 32:51Speaker 1: and Milhouse looking through the window, and Bart says, watched
- 32:53Speaker 1: me make this loser lose it. He walks in and asks,
- 32:57Speaker 1: there's a true Spider Man before the movies, he was
- 32:59Speaker 1: a coming book. Oh goddess doesn't know how to handle
- 33:01Speaker 1: this question. It's like, oh, what is this? What did
- 33:03Speaker 1: he say? What's the exact words?
- 33:06Speaker 4: Is it staggering? Steve Ditko like that? Yeah. Stevid Gough,
- 33:09Speaker 4: a legendary comic book goddist excuse me.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I just heard it before Spider Man was a movie,
- 33:15Speaker 3: It was a comic book. Is that possible?
- 33:17Speaker 2: What did suffering Steve Ditko? How can you not know
- 33:23Speaker 2: that Spider Man first appeared in nineteen sixty two's classic
- 33:27Speaker 2: Amazing Fanta see number fifteen two.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Oh twelve cents? I'll take eight, what you idiot?
- 33:35Speaker 2: Mint condition copies are like forty thousand dollars each must
- 33:39Speaker 2: lie down on pile of unsold hookerns.
- 33:43Speaker 5: Small, small, small.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Then they find the comic that he was writing on
- 33:50Speaker 1: his bench, every Man, and they go, what's this. He's
- 33:52Speaker 1: not a hero from Marvel. They say, image of Wildstorm.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Now I'm doing a bit of a of course, you
- 33:58Speaker 4: will know Marvel and they say, Joe Whilstorm were kind
- 34:00Speaker 4: of like, yeah, pretenders to the throne or up and comers.
- 34:04Speaker 4: But funnily enough, Wildstorm actually published The Boys, which there
- 34:11Speaker 4: we go the unified theory a full finger discount.
- 34:18Speaker 1: But the comic book consists of avery Man and he
- 34:21Speaker 1: prevents a bank rob berud from taking place, doesn't he?
- 34:24Speaker 4: I didn't mind every Man. I thought it was like
- 34:26Speaker 4: a halfway decent concept.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You can never make this in real life because you'd
- 34:30Speaker 1: have to.
- 34:32Speaker 4: It'd be like the Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Or a
- 34:34Speaker 4: Space Jam a new edition? What's it called?
- 34:36Speaker 1: The new Era? The new Legacy, a new legacy? Get
- 34:38Speaker 1: this right, fucking Alliott? Like two days ago, no ship,
- 34:42Speaker 1: it's funny you brought that up. Can I watch Space Jams?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Like you're sure he has another number two things?
- 34:46Speaker 4: And I was like, no, you can't.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I was like really, because yeah, kids loved it and
- 34:50Speaker 1: like the kids talking about it at school because that
- 34:53Speaker 1: only just discovered it. I guess I think they put
- 34:55Speaker 1: on at school last week or something and they all
- 34:58Speaker 1: love it. Like look, it's got the Flintstone, he's got
- 35:00Speaker 1: Scoopy Dorm, it's got King Kong. And I'm like, you
- 35:02Speaker 1: know what, when you're a kid, that shit's cool. All
- 35:05Speaker 1: your favorite things in the one movie that would be
- 35:06Speaker 1: called if you're a.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Kid, you need to not you're going to fabricate content,
- 35:11Speaker 4: but you should film elliots say I want to want
- 35:13Speaker 4: Space Jam and your legacy, then you the frame of
- 35:17Speaker 4: Jordan's and I took that personally. Oh man, anyway, that'd
- 35:24Speaker 4: be kind of funny, all right, ah yeah, but yeah,
- 35:29Speaker 4: every man not bad. I mean, and I think you
- 35:32Speaker 4: can tell these guys like comic books. I mean, but
- 35:34Speaker 4: just by the virtue of the fact that the guy's
- 35:35Speaker 4: name is avery Man and he's like, but I'm also Everyman.
- 35:39Speaker 4: It's pretty clever.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, but yeah. So he prevents the bank robbery.
- 35:43Speaker 1: They're mocking him because he's overweight, he's fat, and he
- 35:45Speaker 1: can't do anything about it. He goes outside and every
- 35:47Speaker 1: Man gets his superpowers by absorbing the powers of every
- 35:49Speaker 1: codebook he touches, so it becomes Iman gets Iman's powers,
- 35:52Speaker 1: and the Robert says something of the lines of pop
- 35:55Speaker 1: Me and sing sing as Savor, which is the maximum
- 35:57Speaker 1: security prison in New York. Then he uses Pus sick
- 36:00Speaker 1: Man's powers to reach around and grab the other robber
- 36:02Speaker 1: who was getting away. The comic book guy yells at
- 36:04Speaker 1: them for reading his book, how do you do it?
- 36:06Speaker 1: But it's like, I actually really enjoyed this.
- 36:07Speaker 4: It's pretty good. By the way, Comic book guy, for
- 36:10Speaker 4: all his nerdiness, he's pretty cavalier with his artwork, leaving
- 36:13Speaker 4: it under like the pizza box I could just get
- 36:15Speaker 4: stained with like pizza grease.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's true, but I guess he never expected it's
- 36:18Speaker 1: to really be a thing. I guess, yeah, what's more important? Well, pizza.
- 36:24Speaker 1: So he says, I've never showed anybody due to the
- 36:26Speaker 1: potential of me being mocked by the online community, like
- 36:28Speaker 1: son of Son of Spock the Dark Knight and I
- 36:31Speaker 1: killed Kenny six four seven five. I just like that
- 36:33Speaker 1: because there would have been so many called I killed
- 36:34Speaker 1: Kenny's oh in that so maybe not two thousand and nine,
- 36:37Speaker 1: but in the late nineties for sure, or respect my
- 36:39Speaker 1: authoritar twenty five. Then they convince him to self publish
- 36:43Speaker 1: because he's written three hundred and thirty five issues already,
- 36:46Speaker 1: including the controversial to eighty nine Death of Marmaduke. Now
- 36:50Speaker 1: the kids are all at school, they're already I didn't
- 36:52Speaker 1: mind the soundtrack as well. They had music that was
- 36:54Speaker 1: specifically playing every time people were reading that every Man comic.
- 36:57Speaker 1: There's music playing. The kids think it's great. Who knew
- 36:59Speaker 1: a trouble person could be so creative? And cuts to
- 37:02Speaker 1: Nelson the water run deep and he's painting the teachers
- 37:04Speaker 1: on the wall and whatnot. Then we get the montage
- 37:06Speaker 1: of all the various stores that you were mentioned earlier,
- 37:08Speaker 1: Odin's Alley or whatever it was buying buying up a
- 37:11Speaker 1: storm and Matt groaning aim so rich, so rich?
- 37:14Speaker 4: Throw it actually was Matt groening according to the.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Yeah it was.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I didn't get though. So is he he's thrown into
- 37:20Speaker 1: a Bongo comics?
- 37:22Speaker 4: Yeah? When Bongo was? They that that was his?
- 37:25Speaker 1: That's Life in Hell right, that's the Bongo Comics pub
- 37:28Speaker 1: I don't think No, But.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Bongo was the bunny in Life is Hell?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Right?
- 37:32Speaker 4: Is that the character name?
- 37:34Speaker 1: Is it Bongo? Maybe? I just know that they publish
- 37:37Speaker 1: all the Simpsons comics. I just didn't get there because
- 37:39Speaker 1: he was so he was. Was it he was stealing them?
- 37:42Speaker 4: No? No, I thought it was they were his comics,
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yeah they were, but he was he was still publishing
- 37:48Speaker 4: as well.
- 37:48Speaker 1: So I thought he was somehow making money off.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Of when I watched the second time, because I initially
- 37:53Speaker 4: thought that as well. They were throwing every Man comics
- 37:56Speaker 4: into a trust store, except then he was pinching it
- 37:59Speaker 4: out of the truck, putting them in his own truck. No, not, okay, okay,
- 38:01Speaker 4: he was just getting his own comics and making money
- 38:03Speaker 4: from Bongo, making money from Bongo. So the Life and
- 38:06Speaker 4: Howl Rabbit, let's have a look some reason I think
- 38:08Speaker 4: it's Bongo, but I could so wrong.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I don't think it is. It's Bingo, but.
- 38:14Speaker 4: It's not that much difference between Bingo and Bonger. I know,
- 38:17Speaker 4: but it's two different names, right, guess Binky. We're both wrong?
- 38:21Speaker 1: But was it?
- 38:23Speaker 4: I was even more wrong?
- 38:24Speaker 1: Okay, But the Simpsons comics are great. I read some
- 38:28Speaker 1: of the Simpons comics and Alliant's just started reading them,
- 38:29Speaker 1: and it's like, these could have been genuine episodes, a
- 38:32Speaker 1: lot of these, you know, in an era of the
- 38:33Speaker 1: Simpsons where it felt like it was pretty half asked.
- 38:36Speaker 1: These could have been genuine, genuinely good stories, but they
- 38:39Speaker 1: didn't do it. So let's move on, shall we.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Let's not dwell on that.
- 38:43Speaker 1: But yes, but Matt Greeny's making all life money. And
- 38:45Speaker 1: then we get just like the astronauts of reading the
- 38:47Speaker 1: books and they're crashing in space and just everyone's everyone,
- 38:50Speaker 1: everyone loves every man. Then we have the executives at
- 38:53Speaker 1: a movie station not not join normous there it's one
- 38:56Speaker 1: week wonder, okay, and they're thinking of what's think of
- 39:00Speaker 1: the next big summer blockbus or something that's never been
- 39:02Speaker 1: in a movie before, but still feels like it has.
- 39:04Speaker 1: She says extension cords and car keys and whatnot, and
- 39:07Speaker 1: the sun walks in. What's that comic? It's just to
- 39:09Speaker 1: kill this one in the whole world? Did and just
- 39:12Speaker 1: like whatever? But I did love that. I've watched all
- 39:15Speaker 1: the DVDs in the band. And then he says, we're
- 39:18Speaker 1: going to buy the rights to it while Jinah was picked.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Did that three weeks ago?
- 39:21Speaker 4: Damn it? I did love that. What are his powers?
- 39:23Speaker 4: All of them? Yeah? I thought that was kind of funny.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Giant Normous execs are now at the store three weeks earlier,
- 39:28Speaker 1: and they're trying to convince comic book guy to give
- 39:30Speaker 1: them the rights to the film, and he says, actually,
- 39:33Speaker 1: the guys that did Stratigo with the red scout dated
- 39:36Speaker 1: a blue General. And then we get your man thrown
- 39:38Speaker 1: under the bus. Brett Ratner, that's correct, Yes, is Brent Brett.
- 39:42Speaker 1: So I thought we had Brett Ratner because he had
- 39:44Speaker 1: final cut. We were well aware he had final cut.
- 39:46Speaker 1: And he cracks his knuckles and cracked his hair as well.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Is that just a nerd? Because my knuckles crack all
- 39:51Speaker 1: the time if I'm sitting on the computer. What is it?
- 39:53Speaker 4: Could well be Look.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I used to hate the sound of my knuckles cracking,
- 39:56Speaker 1: but now I do it all the time.
- 39:57Speaker 4: There's bits in this that didn't really make a whole
- 39:59Speaker 4: lot of sense to It's like, and clearly you've thought
- 40:02Speaker 4: these are gags or these are bits, and I'm like,
- 40:05Speaker 4: are they? Yeah, I mean you're the knuckles thing, I guess,
- 40:07Speaker 4: but it's not that funny.
- 40:09Speaker 1: No, not really. So then this is where he says,
- 40:12Speaker 1: I don't want any money or women. All I want
- 40:14Speaker 1: to be is able to That was okay, I do
- 40:17Speaker 1: not create money nor women. I knew that it's impossible. Yes,
- 40:21Speaker 1: he wants to be able to cast everywhere. They say nope,
- 40:23Speaker 1: not going to happen. I repeat thank you, I repeat
- 40:26Speaker 1: thank you, and they finally agree thank you. And he says,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I'm so glad I played hardball, Hollywood. That's the closest
- 40:31Speaker 1: I've ever come to playing sport in my life. Another
- 40:33Speaker 1: a good lad, good gag.
- 40:34Speaker 4: You've got multiple tiers of gigs. Some I think work
- 40:37Speaker 4: really well, some are like that's not bad, and some
- 40:40Speaker 4: are like, eh, yeah, playing hardball. But Krusty is now
- 40:46Speaker 4: auditioning to be every man. But he's print amount of
- 40:50Speaker 4: ink so in his ink for an Omega brand fax machine,
- 40:52Speaker 4: not that he's even using the fax machine. Still in
- 40:53Speaker 4: two thousand and nine, very old school. But nah, not
- 40:55Speaker 4: getting the gig, but he already bought a boat with
- 40:57Speaker 4: the money they were going to pay him. Then he says,
- 40:59Speaker 4: come comedic book, guys, is I don't want a super hunk.
- 41:01Speaker 4: I want a fat loser. I want in every Man.
- 41:04Speaker 4: It's in the name. Plus Also, I think you can
- 41:07Speaker 4: tell Seth and Evan Simpson's fan just by using the
- 41:10Speaker 4: term super hunk. It's not really a term that gets
- 41:13Speaker 4: used outside. I mean, we all know what a big
- 41:15Speaker 4: fan of it I am. But I don't think I've
- 41:17Speaker 4: ever heard it used in magazines or newspapers or hunks sometimes,
- 41:23Speaker 4: but hung absolutely, but super yeah, yeah, that's.
- 41:26Speaker 1: A very It's like almost like a Marge, isn't it.
- 41:28Speaker 4: That's that's putting a hat on a hat. Yeah. So
- 41:31Speaker 4: for them to say I do not want some super hunk,
- 41:33Speaker 4: it's like that's a shout out.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Well, then goes Homer, then enters, do you have changed
- 41:37Speaker 1: for a dollar? Also a dollar? And then you are acceptable? Thanks?
- 41:41Speaker 1: You want to see me naked?
- 41:42Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no in this movie.
- 41:44Speaker 1: What movie we come back and out at the dinner
- 41:47Speaker 1: table and Homer asked how all their days went. Lisa
- 41:49Speaker 1: says she got into a national mass competition.
- 41:52Speaker 4: B yes, Marge, she's.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Or guess who've got the voted president of the garden club?
- 41:56Speaker 1: You cool? No our school that can go to? How
- 41:59Speaker 1: any way? Then Bart says that doctor says he's styroid
- 42:02Speaker 1: is not pumping out enough.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Well, too bad.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Maggie sucks like sucking out time for him, and he
- 42:06Speaker 1: reveals the every man comic attached to his chest with
- 42:08Speaker 1: this is Me pointed at it. The Simpsons family really
- 42:11Speaker 1: were a big part of this episode? Were they? No,
- 42:13Speaker 1: not at all. They just they just sort of skimmed through.
- 42:16Speaker 1: It felt like every scene had a Simpsons family member
- 42:19Speaker 1: was cut short, just acknowledging, just cramming them in.
- 42:23Speaker 4: He's got a family, don't forget.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Yeah, So now at ginormous pictures at the front, he said,
- 42:27Speaker 1: Star Wars episode seven, the Apology Alvin Chipmunks three getting rabies.
- 42:31Speaker 1: They have a problem. And I was like, I'll get
- 42:33Speaker 1: back to the oscars that took from the lobby. Do you
- 42:34Speaker 1: want the Golden Globe? Oh god no? And they showed
- 42:37Speaker 1: they said. They showed the pick of him to various people,
- 42:39Speaker 1: like a test audience, and none of them thought he
- 42:41Speaker 1: looked like a siper hero.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Oh where my brother and I showed this picture of
- 42:44Speaker 2: you to a cross section of typical moviegoers.
- 42:47Speaker 5: Not one thought you look like a superhero.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Several people stared at the sun, attempting to blind themselves.
- 42:53Speaker 5: Stared at the sun against every animal instinct they had.
- 42:56Speaker 1: We need you to slim down, muscle up, and become
- 42:59Speaker 1: the every man people want to be instead of the
- 43:01Speaker 1: one they actually are.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I don't know if I can. I mean, Yo, Yo Dieter,
- 43:05Speaker 3: Yo hot dog man, Yo peanuts. Why aren't you laughing?
- 43:10Speaker 3: Don't you know what yo means?
- 43:11Speaker 1: I just love the Yeah, yo heart dog man. That's
- 43:15Speaker 1: one of the best gags in a while. I really
- 43:17Speaker 1: like that. Actually, I genuinely laughed. And then what's Larle's
- 43:19Speaker 1: last name? My Lion McCarthy. I believe Lian McCarthy. Let's
- 43:23Speaker 1: just quick go to the he plays Lian McCarthy. That's correct,
- 43:27Speaker 1: you he arrives, he's going to be the guy who's
- 43:28Speaker 1: going to do what.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Well, He's gonna whip home in shape. But I forgot
- 43:31Speaker 4: the actual phrase they use. But he's the personal trainer.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I just like, say goodbye to the fat you says goodbye,
- 43:39Speaker 1: come with guy. He won't care whether I'm going to
- 43:41Speaker 1: be having him lose weight though now because he's too busy.
- 43:44Speaker 1: He's gone Hollywood and he cuts to him. He wants
- 43:45Speaker 1: to read a story to his adopted Cambodie in Orphan.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I didn't mind the nanny's bringing the story end with him, yes,
- 43:52Speaker 1: and he reads it to him. And remember the kid's name,
- 43:55Speaker 1: I don't. It was Prius Prius.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:57Speaker 1: It's funny, but it's also saying because they're definitely kids
- 43:59Speaker 1: in this situation, there's some Hollywood douchebags adopted kids, and
- 44:03Speaker 1: this I don't think this is meant to be mocking
- 44:05Speaker 1: Angel and Jolie because she's a great mother.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Apparently, if you're mocking anyone, it's more mea pharaoh, because
- 44:12Speaker 4: apparently she she like renamed her adopted kids like multiple times.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Oh that's not good. Not toys. Colly's gone through a
- 44:23Speaker 1: phase now where she's renaming all of her toys at
- 44:25Speaker 1: the moment, and then today she's like, I want to
- 44:28Speaker 1: call Nelly Nelly again.
- 44:30Speaker 4: I was like corn Nellie again, just say it exactly
- 44:33Speaker 4: like that.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I was just like, that's okay, I'm sure. I'm sure
- 44:35Speaker 1: Nelly would lie there. Do not think she wants to
- 44:37Speaker 1: be called Nelly? I'm like, yes, she probably does. Yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 1: I'm sorry, nellis respect those pronounces. This show is brought

- 45:11Speaker 1: Lyle is with Homer at the Simpsons house and he
- 45:14Speaker 1: asked him, like, why do you eat well, I'm swallowing
- 45:17Speaker 1: my frustrations and disappointments, and that's pretty much why we
- 45:19Speaker 1: eat a lot of the time, isn't it?
- 45:20Speaker 4: That is correct? Sometimes I was.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Sitting there watching TV at night and I'm going, I'm
- 45:24Speaker 1: gonna get to the pantry. I'm like, no, no, why
- 45:26Speaker 1: are you going to the pantry. You're not hungry? You're
- 45:29Speaker 1: just eating because you're bored. It's like, I'm just gonna
- 45:32Speaker 1: go to bed. Why am moving up? If you don't
- 45:35Speaker 1: need the fuel, you won't know what well I used
- 45:38Speaker 1: to do it. He says, you cope by cramming donuts
- 45:41Speaker 1: in your mouth when you're feeling sad and whatnot. And
- 45:42Speaker 1: then he says, here, it's because you don't always have
- 45:44Speaker 1: the time to beat. Did they masturbate there? Pretty sure
- 45:46Speaker 1: it's massurbated? Yeah, okay, reckon, they originally said masturbating they
- 45:51Speaker 1: I'm kind.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Of curious about that. I did a little research, and
- 45:53Speaker 4: I think everyone has a consensus that was masturbate. I
- 45:56Speaker 4: couldn't find anyone who said, yeah, I remember when it
- 45:59Speaker 4: actually end and they said that.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Yeah. So I forget South on the show South. If
- 46:02Speaker 1: you're listening, see the friend of the pod. I look
- 46:03Speaker 1: at the cameras on the fuck Man. We will accept evan, Yes, anybody, anybody,
- 46:11Speaker 1: anyone who knows the answer, will accept you to come
- 46:13Speaker 1: in and tell us what was the what was the
- 46:14Speaker 1: word there? And was it originally in and beeped out?
- 46:16Speaker 1: For what was censor ship?
- 46:17Speaker 4: The secret wound?
- 46:18Speaker 1: Yes, So he says, you need to lose weight fast.
- 46:20Speaker 1: So let's do it with the montage to either tiger.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Now it's a bit on the nose. I do it
- 46:24Speaker 1: to heroes. I didn't mind this, he's just heroes. This
- 46:27Speaker 1: montage scene is really exhausting, just walking around sad one touched. No,
- 46:31Speaker 1: we've had a ragtap little leg and turn him to
- 46:32Speaker 1: state state runners up. They don't win state runs up.
- 46:36Speaker 1: And then what funny modes of transportation he's just let's
- 46:39Speaker 1: just skip ahead a month that cust to him. He's
- 46:40Speaker 1: doing his ten thousands push up and fit and now
- 46:43Speaker 1: is much in shape. And this is where he gets
- 46:44Speaker 1: a phone call from Topay McGuire. And this was a
- 46:46Speaker 1: bit of a running gig where he would say one
- 46:48Speaker 1: thing to the to the client and then turned to
- 46:50Speaker 1: home and.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Not really real glad Hander, but death doesn't like his
- 46:54Speaker 4: actual he's on the phone.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I did a bit too much. I think, I think
- 46:56Speaker 1: a little bit. I feel a lot of it was
- 46:58Speaker 1: felt a bit eyes by Seth and they sort of
- 47:01Speaker 1: went with it.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Well I did. I've read some interview with Rogan. I
- 47:07Speaker 4: actually might have been on the Wikipedia paid So you're
- 47:09Speaker 4: talking about, oh yeah, one day I'm pitching a scrip
- 47:12Speaker 4: then you know, a couple of days later, I'm improvising
- 47:14Speaker 4: with Homer.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Simpson, So I'm guessing, yeah, a lot of this. I'm
- 47:17Speaker 1: thinking some of the nicknames that he came up with,
- 47:18Speaker 1: a constant sort of string of nicknames based on Homer.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that feels kind of home run and all. Yes,
- 47:24Speaker 4: a couple of things in this that I wanted to
- 47:26Speaker 4: want to discover. Well, first, well, if the rise in
- 47:28Speaker 4: Brown don't shower down, it's valid.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Point.
- 47:31Speaker 4: The whole thing about John Drolta and the Private Client
- 47:33Speaker 4: List may have something to do with a rumor that
- 47:35Speaker 4: was going around about JT and a certain messuse.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Oh really, Ah yeah.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Do your own googling for that one, folks.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I don't mind. Goodbye, bad bye. Then he tells him
- 47:48Speaker 1: to hit the poll, fire man up, strip it down.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Sexy heroic, sexy heroic, and they're filming the movie now,
- 47:53Speaker 1: and he used Captain America's patriotism to save the president.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I think it was, I think whatever, and Wonder Woman's
- 47:59Speaker 1: boobs to distract the gar at LISTA points there's a
- 48:01Speaker 1: few plot holes here, and he blames because there's so
- 48:03Speaker 1: many writers. So that feels like commentary on Hollywood. Where
- 48:06Speaker 1: oh absolutely, if you just allowed one guy or a
- 48:08Speaker 1: couple ofeople to write this movie, you've led us to
- 48:10Speaker 1: write this movie, it'd be fine. All you guys putting
- 48:12Speaker 1: your little two cents in. That's what's sucking it up.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Well, that's the thing. I mean. There's a lot of
- 48:16Speaker 4: talk about how, you know, the MCU sort of was
- 48:19Speaker 4: founded or you know, how it sort of got started,
- 48:22Speaker 4: and how they had this brains trust of people like
- 48:25Speaker 4: we want all these movies to connect together. We wanted,
- 48:28Speaker 4: you know, one character appear in this, another one to
- 48:29Speaker 4: appear in this, but it needs to be all one thing.
- 48:31Speaker 4: So they had like people working on that forever. Apparently
- 48:33Speaker 4: Joss Whedon was like one of the founding members of that. Okay,
- 48:37Speaker 4: and I think you need that at the beginning, But
- 48:40Speaker 4: then when it comes to actually writing the script, Yeah,
- 48:42Speaker 4: leaving the hands of like one or two capable people.
- 48:45Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, the reason that The Gardens the Galaxy
- 48:48Speaker 4: works so well is, yeah, you can really tell that
- 48:51Speaker 4: it's mostly James Gunn's work. I mean, even though there
- 48:53Speaker 4: was another script writer who wrote the initial script, I
- 48:56Speaker 4: think gun came in and kind of did a pass
- 48:58Speaker 4: on it, and you feel the individuality that more than
- 49:00Speaker 4: you do in a lot of other other sort of
- 49:02Speaker 4: superhero movies.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, next scene here is where Marge asked to
- 49:06Speaker 1: take your shirt off again, and she's there's less of
- 49:08Speaker 1: you to love, but I love you ever more, And
- 49:10Speaker 1: I thought, I'm not happy with where this is going.
- 49:13Speaker 1: He feels very like I understand it because you know
- 49:16Speaker 1: you would, right, but it still feels unlike March. I
- 49:19Speaker 1: feel it's be more of home. I should be posing
- 49:21Speaker 1: to March. March being like, yeah, that's great, but I
- 49:23Speaker 1: just love you for you true.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Or maybe not use the word love, maybe just have
- 49:27Speaker 4: a sort of get really kind of lusty, like you
- 49:29Speaker 4: know when when they had the episode where she went
- 49:32Speaker 4: to prison margin chains and have the contract visit and
- 49:35Speaker 4: just like, I mean, yeah, I have her driven more
- 49:38Speaker 4: by animal lust and kind of like there's more of
- 49:40Speaker 4: your love. It's like, well, so you don't love him
- 49:42Speaker 4: anymore if he's regular movie?
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah, But then she spooks herself by touching her other hand,
- 49:46Speaker 1: which she hugs him around. It's filming again, and this
- 49:49Speaker 1: time Homer throws the wrench into the helicopter. This is
- 49:52Speaker 1: another good like the Devil's Advocate I spell and ask
- 49:55Speaker 1: her I still take a bath and then home. Loves
- 50:00Speaker 1: that he's getting gigs for his friends Lenny and Carl
- 50:02Speaker 1: cars with his head in the shark, but he just paid.
- 50:04Speaker 1: He loves he's getting paid to do what he loves exactly.
- 50:07Speaker 4: I like that they mentioned I've got a closet full
- 50:09Speaker 4: of free sneakers.
- 50:09Speaker 1: And watches which you giveaways.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Yeah, when you're if you're new like me and you're
- 50:15Speaker 4: sort of looking at oh wonder what's going on, like
- 50:16Speaker 4: the film festival or whatever, and they always have like
- 50:20Speaker 4: brands will have things set up. It's like, hey, Edward Norton,
- 50:23Speaker 4: come on in and check it out. Hey, if you
- 50:25Speaker 4: want to pay a free Timberland boots, Hey, they're all yours.
- 50:27Speaker 4: But you know, maybe tag us in your insta picture
- 50:29Speaker 4: with are you wearing or something like that. All these
- 50:31Speaker 4: rich motherfuckers are just getting you know, getting free north
- 50:35Speaker 4: face or you know, oh you look at DiCaprio. I
- 50:38Speaker 4: was like, that's right.
- 50:39Speaker 1: The only watch I wear is Omega.
- 50:40Speaker 4: It's like you took that home and you probably got
- 50:44Speaker 4: paid pretty well for were you to do?
- 50:46Speaker 3: Homer, Homer Sapien, Can I have a word with you?
- 50:49Speaker 4: I know this is a bad time, but I'm leaving
- 50:51Speaker 4: for another gig.
- 50:52Speaker 3: It's that all this temporary job was to you a gig.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Don't take it personally, home team, But.
- 51:00Speaker 3: How will I keep from overeating? Just remember what I
- 51:04Speaker 3: taught you, but you taught me. The only people who
- 51:06Speaker 3: can stay sinner those who can afford five thousand dollars
- 51:08Speaker 3: a week nutritional consultants.
- 51:11Speaker 4: I have taught you. Well, this is something I want
- 51:13Speaker 4: to talk about this quickly a little while. But I'm
- 51:17Speaker 4: not a big viewer of Always Sonny in Philadelphia. But uh,
- 51:21Speaker 4: Rob Mcalanny now known as Rob Mack, he went changed
- 51:25Speaker 4: his name. He changed his name apparently yah, no one
- 51:26Speaker 4: could announce mamacallanny. I'll probably pronounced it incorrectly just then.
- 51:30Speaker 4: But his character went through a stage where he put
- 51:32Speaker 4: on a lot of weight and then dropped it all
- 51:34Speaker 4: and became quite jacked. And Rob actually did that. Never
- 51:38Speaker 4: was like, wow, that's incredible, And he put up an
- 51:41Speaker 4: Instagram post. I'm gonna read it abeta mere. Look, it's not
- 51:43Speaker 4: that hard. All we need to do is lift weight
- 51:46Speaker 4: six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, don't eat anything
- 51:48Speaker 4: after seven pm, don't eat any carbs, or any sugar
- 51:51Speaker 4: at all. In fact, just don't eat anything you like,
- 51:53Speaker 4: get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours
- 51:55Speaker 4: a night, run three miles a day, and have a
- 51:57Speaker 4: studio pay for the whole thing over a six to
- 51:58Speaker 4: seven month span where everyone is not doing this.
- 52:01Speaker 1: That's pretty much it.
- 52:02Speaker 4: That's pretty much it. Yeah. So yeah, that's what I
- 52:05Speaker 4: was thinking of when when they talk about my mental
- 52:08Speaker 4: Mainteain's like, oh, you know, just a little next like, no, no,
- 52:11Speaker 4: you have to live and he can do it. Oh,
- 52:13Speaker 4: you can do it, but it has to be your life.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it has one of those no.
- 52:19Speaker 4: I'd rather my life, and well, chuck with cookies and
- 52:22Speaker 4: a glass of whiskey, glass of whiskey.
- 52:24Speaker 1: I immediately starts sees cheese cubes like, well on one's
- 52:27Speaker 1: not gonna hurt, and then one stuck to the other. Well,
- 52:29Speaker 1: technically it still counts as one. And Nicola always uses
- 52:32Speaker 1: the gag of if it's you have like an ice
- 52:35Speaker 1: cream of strawberries, well technically it's fruit now. Oh yeah,
- 52:38Speaker 1: and then he says to himself after he eats the
- 52:40Speaker 1: cheese cubes, well it's bad, like to eating even amount
- 52:42Speaker 1: of cheese it's more starts filling his face and everyone's
- 52:44Speaker 1: looking at concerned. Don't look at me. You watch it.
- 52:49Speaker 1: We come back and they're filming the next part again,
- 52:50Speaker 1: but this time he's he's bursting out of his suit.
- 52:54Speaker 1: I didn't want to, I'm not every man camera, but
- 52:56Speaker 1: it burst out of his suit. And the guy's like,
- 52:58Speaker 1: our main star is fa we're over budget, and the
- 53:01Speaker 1: grass up aer Raptor has got a mind of its
- 53:02Speaker 1: own and eats Sir Ben Kingsley. That was bizarre.
- 53:05Speaker 4: That was weird. I'm not exactly sure why that was case,
- 53:08Speaker 4: although I did hear a very fun anecdote about Sir
- 53:11Speaker 4: Ben Kingsley recently, particularly when it came to the making
- 53:14Speaker 4: of Species. I don't think he was that big a
- 53:16Speaker 4: fan of being on the movie, but apparently he didn't
- 53:19Speaker 4: like anyone touching his chair. So his ghostar, the late
- 53:25Speaker 4: great Michael Madson, was always fucking with his chair.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Yeah that's a good story. But yeah, but.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Apparently Kingsley's be a bit of a sort of a
- 53:32Speaker 4: touchy character. I mean, I think someone referred to him
- 53:37Speaker 4: as not as Sir Ben at some day and he
- 53:39Speaker 4: got real he really arked up about it. I guess
- 53:41Speaker 4: if I was called sir guy like someone to do it?
- 53:43Speaker 4: He once in a while.
- 53:44Speaker 1: But Homer can't fit into his pjs anymore, and Marge
- 53:46Speaker 1: comes in expecting a sexy man. He pulled his weight
- 53:48Speaker 1: on one day apparently. Anyway, let's not first throw log,
- 53:51Speaker 1: you get the window for the sake of let's get
- 53:52Speaker 1: through this. She comes in expecting him to be thin,
- 53:54Speaker 1: but he's button bursts off and knocks her out, and
- 53:56Speaker 1: she says, I think he put on a little bit
- 53:57Speaker 1: of weight. Nag, nag, nag, And that's the end of
- 54:00Speaker 1: that story again called a story. Yeah, Homer goes to
- 54:04Speaker 1: the QUICKI Mart to try and make himself vomit. He
- 54:06Speaker 1: wants to go full boleemic so that he can lose
- 54:08Speaker 1: some weight, so he gives him some butteron milk from
- 54:10Speaker 1: nineteen sixty one when everyone was twisting again like they
- 54:13Speaker 1: did the previous summer, and he says, just make sure
- 54:15Speaker 1: you don't chew the chunks. But it's too late. Clean
- 54:17Speaker 1: up an aisles three to one and that exterior shot
- 54:20Speaker 1: were just the silence. It worked, It really did, really. Yeah,
- 54:22Speaker 1: Now we're filming the final bit and Homer, unfortunately just
- 54:25Speaker 1: can't get out of his trailer. He's meant to be Batman,
- 54:27Speaker 1: but not going to happen. A guy arrives. He says,
- 54:29Speaker 1: this film is an embarrassment. As the writer, I demand
- 54:32Speaker 1: to express my opinion. So again, this is very much
- 54:35Speaker 1: them trying to just complain. I guess that they. I
- 54:37Speaker 1: guess when I writing films, people chiming in a lot
- 54:40Speaker 1: of them have.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Their pure Yeah, it's sort of a lot of standing
- 54:42Speaker 4: Hollywood joke that. Yeah, the writer is the very low
- 54:46Speaker 4: person on the ladder.
- 54:48Speaker 1: They tried to He tries to give him the vulcan
- 54:50Speaker 1: death grip the security guard, but it gives him the
- 54:51Speaker 1: Hollywood ponytail. Yank throws him to a bin full of
- 54:53Speaker 1: former studio heads whose only sin was believing in George Clooney.
- 54:56Speaker 4: Correct. The security guard apparently voiced by a gentleman named
- 54:59Speaker 4: Kevin Michael Richardson, who's very big in the voice acting
- 55:03Speaker 4: the game. Yeah, tell us, tell us more.
- 55:06Speaker 1: He's now voices on Shimps's voice of doctor here. But
- 55:08Speaker 1: now where do you go? I had fun I learned
- 55:11Speaker 1: something to that. We're now at the tenant read that
- 55:16Speaker 1: far in the wikimedia back. We're now at the test screening,
- 55:22Speaker 1: and the lizard is there in the audience. He's also
- 55:24Speaker 1: in the film, and the guy says, I think we've
- 55:26Speaker 1: solved all the issues here with editing, except my problems
- 55:29Speaker 1: with the irs. How's that going, by the way, just
- 55:31Speaker 1: takes his head. Not really a gag. Maybe one of
- 55:35Speaker 1: them is having troubles with the iras. Could well be
- 55:37Speaker 1: I don't know who knows. No, he's up in trouble
- 55:38Speaker 1: with the taxman. Tell me is the guy that owns
- 55:40Speaker 1: Derrimitt Jim.
- 55:41Speaker 4: I did hear about this?
- 55:43Speaker 1: Millions of fourteen million dollars in tax dead or something.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, they're closing down. All the gyms are
- 55:47Speaker 1: closing Jesus.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Not good for Terramat, not good for the gym joke
- 55:52Speaker 1: he's out there. Not good for those who need to
- 55:53Speaker 1: shrip all the five thousand national nutritional consultants. Like, yes,
- 55:58Speaker 1: time for some protein. Do there have to be that voice?
- 56:02Speaker 4: Does it? Lifted directly from friendly Jordan? Sorry that protein
- 56:09Speaker 4: said that again? Then find for the protein boys. You're
- 56:21Speaker 4: already to cut that out.
- 56:24Speaker 1: One of the funniest things you've ever said and upset
- 56:28Speaker 1: a few funny things. Yeah, so he says they're watching
- 56:30Speaker 1: the film, and sometimes he's fat, sometimes he's not. The
- 56:32Speaker 1: editing's all screwed up, and then he's like, what's going
- 56:35Speaker 1: on here? Karl's annoyed. I think he says, who was
- 56:38Speaker 1: in charge of the continuity? And the what's that? Is
- 56:40Speaker 1: a continuity consulted? What are they called that position? That
- 56:43Speaker 1: woman who's in charge of the continuity turns and she says,
- 56:45Speaker 1: I trying to show the polaroids and now deffinitely looked
- 56:47Speaker 1: in there. He says, your job is to get their attention.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Nobody takes responsibility anymore. So then she said, I just
- 56:52Speaker 1: want to get back into the business after I have
- 56:53Speaker 1: my kids. And then most says, when they've got an
- 56:55Speaker 1: embarrassment for a.
- 56:56Speaker 4: Mother, I've written what why? Yeah? Yeah? Just this mean yeah,
- 57:01Speaker 4: I mean I don't know the actual title for someone
- 57:03Speaker 4: who deals with continuity, but yeah, it's a pretty big
- 57:07Speaker 4: deal in movies on the set absolutely? Yeah?
- 57:11Speaker 1: Is it? Are they trying to say here that audiences
- 57:14Speaker 1: blame the wrong person?
- 57:16Speaker 4: Could well be?
- 57:17Speaker 1: I mean for film faults.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Have you ever seen a film recently where it's kind
- 57:22Speaker 4: of like, oh, they filmed this scene here and they
- 57:25Speaker 4: had to come make six months later for reshirts or
- 57:26Speaker 4: something like that. It's really it's very obviously in Justice League,
- 57:29Speaker 4: where they just Wheden came into basically rework the film
- 57:33Speaker 4: after Zack Snyder had to step out.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Let's how The Simpsons was born. The original episode was
- 57:36Speaker 1: going to be someone chanted. At evening James R. Brooks
- 57:38Speaker 1: was like, now it's fucking not send this back and
- 57:41Speaker 1: fixed it.
- 57:42Speaker 4: But even like mission impossible, the final reckoning the bits
- 57:46Speaker 4: and that was like, I think Tom's got the same
- 57:48Speaker 4: haircut here, or you know, you're looking a little puffier
- 57:50Speaker 4: in this one as opposed to the previous.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Happens in sitcoms all the time.
- 57:53Speaker 4: Sure, oh well yeah. They alluded to it here with
- 57:56Speaker 4: your Homer sort of going wild at craft Services. I
- 57:58Speaker 4: think I forgot who mentioned this. It might have been
- 58:02Speaker 4: Spader talking about the Blacklist. How you know, you get
- 58:05Speaker 4: your second season, everyone's a little more confident, You're a
- 58:07Speaker 4: little bit more relaxed, and you start pecking away at
- 58:10Speaker 4: the at cad, at the snack table a little bit more.
- 58:13Speaker 4: I think, you see, I think Spader put on a
- 58:15Speaker 4: little bit of way between season one and season two.
- 58:18Speaker 4: Good for him, good on him, got that Blacklist money
- 58:21Speaker 4: Lord ten seasons. Nicola gave up after about season A
- 58:26Speaker 4: after about season six that Shark had been jumped. No,
- 58:30Speaker 4: it's just when the show has a running theme or
- 58:33Speaker 4: an arc where you're like, oh, who is the father
- 58:36Speaker 4: or whatever, and you find out who the father is
- 58:37Speaker 4: and you're like, I have no need to watch anymore.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I don't need three more seasons.
- 58:43Speaker 4: By the way, the title of the person who is
- 58:47Speaker 4: overseen continuity on a film shoot is called a script supervisor.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Is that what a script supervisor? Ah?
- 58:52Speaker 4: There we go responsible for according to AI Overview, thanks AI,
- 58:56Speaker 4: responsible for tracking and maintaining the visual and narrative continent.
- 59:00Speaker 4: Do you have a film or TV show so that
- 59:01Speaker 4: all the scenes can be edited together cohesive?
- 59:04Speaker 1: Okay? So Lyle then says, well, you went from every
- 59:07Speaker 1: Man to everywhere Man and he says, well's because you
- 59:09Speaker 1: left me and he's huge Levy four and he says
- 59:11Speaker 1: it's Turtle from Entourage and that's a throw back. No
- 59:13Speaker 1: one talks about Entourage anymore.
- 59:15Speaker 4: No, although Jeremy Piven was out here recently, was he
- 59:19Speaker 4: really doing a stand upset?
- 59:20Speaker 1: Well? He felt very ari gold this. He wasn't a manager.
- 59:24Speaker 1: The consultantly that Hollywood demeanor.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Yeah, luff and bravado about him. But it's a shame
- 59:30Speaker 4: because I mean, Pipen was a really good actor and
- 59:32Speaker 4: I think still is to some degree. But he's I
- 59:34Speaker 4: think he's sort of chasing the anti woke dollar because
- 59:37Speaker 4: he was up and the saye's talking about it. Man,
- 59:40Speaker 4: remember Entourage and you know you look at the post
- 59:42Speaker 4: of that and it's like five white dudes walking towards
- 59:45Speaker 4: You couldn't do that these days, Like.
- 59:48Speaker 1: We shouldn't do that these days.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Maybe you could, you know. I think you'd have to
- 59:52Speaker 4: be a little more sort of self aware about how
- 59:54Speaker 4: you did it. I came up with a really great
- 59:55Speaker 4: idea for an Entourage reboot, but I'll talk about that
- 59:57Speaker 4: another time.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: You've got a lot of ideas going. I really do
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: finish one of them. Yeah, it would be great. It's
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: very much me. I did mind. I didn't mind the
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: posters in the background here at the cinema. Other films
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: coming out, Welcome Back Potter, Yes, and Just Fat Suit
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: with Edie Murphy. Then he says he will train him
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: and then leave again and then return and train him again,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: and that's how he makes his money. And then he
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: mocks turtle out loud. Whatever, it's just that gag of speak.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: He's just so yeah, he's so trans full of shit,
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: fellow shit.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Then they say that the film, you know, didn't
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: do too well. The productive projection has even hung yourself
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: with the final reel. But they said, look, the film
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: will still be a success and you can direct a sequel.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: All you have to do, Collic book guy, is tell
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: your army of internet dweeps to go and see the movie.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: What what are they trying to get across here? Are
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: they trying to say that that the online response is
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: pivotal success.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Now, I'm not sure if this was for two thousand
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: and nine. Maybe we're sort of very much at the
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: tail end of online movie influences having a bit of
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: sway over the nerd audience, and particularly guys like Harry Knoles,
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: who was the big wig behind Ain't a Cool News,
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: which they allude to in just a little while. Yeah,
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: but I think that they were very much kind of
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: cooling and was like, yeah, guys like that and guys
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: at the various yeah fan sites, if you put the
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: good word about this, you know it'll get positive buzzer people. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: So yeah, it wouldn't be. Yeah, I think it's very
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: much talking about that.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: So he says, well, I sell my soul for Hollywood, Luca,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: or stay true to my lofty ideals.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Well, yeah, it gets direct every Man too, Rise of
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: the Revenge. I think Rise of the Revenge is actually
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: pretty good.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Rise of the Revenge not bad.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: I think that's kind of funny and kind of also cool.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: All you have to do is tell your army of
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Internet do weeeves to go see this movie?
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Sell my store for Hollywood Lucer, which stay true to
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: my lofty ideals. Every Man the motion picture is the
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: combination of a lifelong dream, and that was one of
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: the few who saw that dream realized on screen last night.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: There is one fault to find with this two hundred
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: million dollar production. It is that this is the worst
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: movie ever and Send and sip.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: Though legislation was passed to ensure every Man was never
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: seen on screens again, he remains in the hearts of
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: every man, woman and child, looking for justice or just
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: hoping to see bad people beidden up.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I'm so cold, No man, what the hell was this
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: little atroid?
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: It should have ended at the send and sip s
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: didn't sit that send him out.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: That's it.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: That's that's the that's the same. Didn't need that last bit.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I didn't get it, no do I anyway. But that
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: is the review of the Wapper, Homer and the Wappa,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: which is a plan on what is the plane? Well,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Burger King is known as the home of the Whoppa,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: the home of the Whappa?
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Is it?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Really? I just know if the burgers are better hungry jacks, Well,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: that's because we're Astralian. Ah, Okay, so don't know.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna double check that because I'm sounding very confident,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: but I could be completely wrong.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Okay. I know they tried to bring burger King here.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: They tried. They were thinking about, like, we'll bring but
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: we'll bring a couple of burger Kings here and it
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: eventually will turn all the hunger Jacks into burger Kings
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: and they won't even know the difference. And everyone's like, eh,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I don't really like this burger King. Hungry jacks taste better,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: and they're like, it's the same thing. I didn't mind
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: going to burger King though, because they used to wrap
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: their burgers up in gold foil. Felt special.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Yeah, the original Wendy's used to do that as well.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Really yeah, rapping for the shitty cardboard boxes now with
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: he goes cold within five minutes.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: That shit. Yeah. The home of the whopper is the
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: international fast food chene Burger King. There We Go, which
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: uses the Home of the Whopper as the well known
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: tagline for its signature Hamburger Come but that one BECAUSEDANA
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: didn't know about it?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Well I don't, But the burgers is a better Hunger.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Jacks A I go in the extra yard here. While
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Burger King is the originator of the whopper, It's Australians
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: franchise operates under the name Hungry Jacks and is also
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: considered home of the Whopper in Australia?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Is it though? It is the home with the wo
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: But what does ever say? The home of the wapper
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: in Australia Hungry Drags.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: Which, yeah, is a tagline that we will remember. I
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: know it's your second favorite after I don't care. I
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: love it.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Do you remember when the nineties when Hungry Jacks used
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to use hungry Oh yes and slow mobive the burger's
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: been eaten delicious? I love Hungry Jacks, I love the burgers,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: but if I'm having a choice, it's going to be
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: KFC chicken burgers. Don't know. Of course, you're a quarter
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: pounder man, right.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: Well, if I'm having a fast foot burger, yes, a
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: quarter poundery E tried a pounder. No, I think I
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: tried a half pounder.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: It was a quarter half pounder. Well that's two, yeah, two,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: So it's just a double double che double cord pounder,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: double cord panda. Yeah, a half pound of Thanks, like
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you need double quarter pound No half pounder, buddy, it
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: sounds tougher.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: Okay, Steve, Okay, Stephen Hawking. I didn't realize I was
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: dealing with the math gene. Isn't it.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: All right? Yeah? So home with the Whopper. It was
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: fine for a season from Yeah. I mean, they a
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: lot of good jokes in here. Just the story felt
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: a bit whatever. Yes, it felt rushed.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: The scaffolding was swaying, but the decorations were pretty good. Yeah,
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: I mean, as is often the case, when we go
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: through it beat by beat, line by line. Well, that's like,
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: may some not bad stuff in here.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I wonder if you could have turned this into like
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: a movie. Again, The answer is, this show is brought

- 1:05:47Speaker 1: What did you learn from this episode? I learned that
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: you could not turn this episode into a movie.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: You learned that pretty quickly and defendly.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: And I learned that the Burgers I let the Home
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: of the Whopper is Burger King.
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: There we go.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: You let that Kevin Marco Rigson is the with a
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: doctor Hibbert. I did?
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: Actually also yeah that, yeah, maybe don't believe in George Clooney,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: No watching ear and I'm watching him like, man, what
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: a dream.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Boat back there? Certainly home goodness, Yes, Holly Spokes. He
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: just has that smile. He doesn't smile smile, It just
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: sort of has a look. And you're like, even I'm
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: getting hard looking at him, Coloney, My god, how long
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: does he stayed for? Actually don't note sports, because then
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: I'll be able to tell when it's coming. But it's
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: not long, is it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: No?
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: I think he's I think he's stuck to his contract
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: for a while. Yeah, because everyone was Everyone thought he
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: was going to do a Caruso. You know what I mean,
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: he was going to do a David Caruso. I was like,
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: fuck you when my PD blew it time for David
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: Cruise to be a movie star, and it was like,
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: we don't like you in these movies, even though he's
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: not bad in those. How about see its high? How
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: about seeing something? I mean, then he did that for
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: like a dozen years. Now he's sitting on a beach
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: doing the tom isn't it. Yeah. But to the best
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: of my understanding, Clooney signed a contract for a certain
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: amount of years. And even though he became the breakhoad
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: start and was like, George, go do movies. Wow, everyone
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: loves you, he was like, no, signed a deal, gonna
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: stick with the deal. Yeah, well yeah, we'll work at
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: his best. I can, I can make movies and do
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: we are, but you know, signed a deal.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: And I'm sure all these coastars were like thank fuck.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, good show though, Oh yeah. In season two
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: at the moment, Yeah.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: From forward, your names will be.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: All right, it's time for the Guy Davis new Name.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Championship's back baby, episode one of season twenty one, Clean Slate.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Now your man is he's retired.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: His name is Jerry and he was yeah, and he's
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: not taking part of the new name. And Phil J.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Hawkins is like, you'll be back. I retired as well.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I went three in a row, buddy. There was there
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: was a bit of snack in the comment. No, it
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: was actual mutual respect chattered between the two of them.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, yeah, it was like Jordan's Jordan and Pippin. Yeah,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: reminiscent over old times. All right, So yeah, give me
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: your three to two one for Home of the Whopper.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: Okay, One point goes to Superhero size me.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: That would be Dave ram mc nelly.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Prett.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Now he's got one point. What on that, Dave pretzels Melli.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Well, first person, first person on the board.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Yeah, huh.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: Two points goes to fat Man return.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Now, wasn't there a fat Man begins?
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: It was, And I've got a reason why Joe's fat
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Man returns because Homan became very lean, very muscular. But
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: then I then a lot of cheese started nibbling on stuff,
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: and fat Man returned, Yeah, I like that.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: That's good.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: Props to the person who gave us Fatman.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Beginning that was Fatman begins with Philip Jay Hawkens. Philip
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Phil Hawkins. He's like ship but Phil, Phil, Phil, you
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: did pretty good. But I'm being a bit particult person.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Nathan Briggs took your idea and put a clock in it.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: His name is brig and he breees the guy that
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: won the world card last month, oh last season.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he's feeling himself on two points, showed away.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: He's on the while he's in the wild card draw already,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: I'm in, yes.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: All right. Three points goes to box office. Gross.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: That's a clever title.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: So bad. It is a clever car. It's a clever
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: I should have seen it well on clever card.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Kyl muldoon on the three points at the moment, So
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: three points Carl Maldoon, two points, Nathan Briggs and one
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: point Dave McNally.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: He's going to do an imitation of Nathan from South Park,
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: but I shouldn't because it's cultural.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Every time we say Nathan Briggs, his name. I'm gonna
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: do it, but not well, I better not.
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: You keep an eye on on our reels and Instagram
