Speaker 1: Let me begin by congratulating the team at NASA and
• 0:04
Speaker 1: our brave astronauts on the successful launch of Artivists too.
• 0:09
Speaker 1: It was quite something. It would be traveling further than
• 0:11
Speaker 1: any manned rocket has ever flown and will very substantially
• 0:15
Speaker 1: pass the Moon, go around it, and come back home
• 0:19
Speaker 1: from a distance that has never been done before. It's amazing.
• 0:23
Speaker 1: They are on the way, and God bless them, these
• 0:26
  Speaker 1: brave people.
• 0:28
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:31
Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on
• 0:33
Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. We've got one big story
• 0:36
Speaker 3: for you, and that is President Trump addressing the nation
• 0:39
Speaker 3: in prime time talking about where we are when it
• 0:43
Speaker 3: comes to the war in Iran, what happens next, and
• 0:47
Speaker 3: what are his demands so that we can move on
• 0:49
Speaker 3: past this with those in charge in Iran. I've got
• 0:53
Speaker 3: it all for you and the highlights of what the
• 0:55
Speaker 3: President said. It's a forty seven Morning Update and it
• 0:58
Speaker 3: starts right now. Number one, President Trump addressed the nation
• 1:03
Speaker 3: in prime time giving an update on Operation Epic Fury
• 1:07
Speaker 3: and where things stand after thirty one days of fighting.
• 1:10
Speaker 3: The bottom line was pretty clear, according to the President
• 1:13
Speaker 3: the latest operation, well, it is a mission that is
• 1:16
Speaker 3: not just working, it's dominating. From the very beginning, the
• 1:20
Speaker 3: objectives of Operation Epic Fury we're clearly defined, and now
• 1:24
Speaker 3: more than a month into the conflict, officials say those
• 1:27
Speaker 3: objectives are being executed with overwhelming force and potentially nearing
• 1:32
Speaker 3: completion within weeks not months. So let me break down
• 1:36
Speaker 3: exactly what that means. The first objective the President talked
• 1:40
Speaker 3: about was this to destroy a RAN's missile threat. Now,
• 1:43
Speaker 3: this was priority number one, taking out the regimes ballistic
• 1:47
Speaker 3: missiles and crippling their ability to produce them. So far,
• 1:50
Speaker 3: the results are staggering. Ballistic missile attacks down ninety percent,
• 1:56
Speaker 3: Drone attacks also down ninety percent. The US military has
• 2:01
Speaker 3: now struck more than eleven thousand targets inside of Iran.
• 2:05
Speaker 3: At the same time, American forces have established overwhelming air dominance,
• 2:11
Speaker 3: flying deeper into Iranian territory and launching coordinated strike packages
• 2:16
Speaker 3: literally every hour, and perhaps most importantly, over sixty six
• 2:21
Speaker 3: percent of Iran's missiles, drones, and naval production facilities have
• 2:27
Speaker 3: already been damaged or completely destroyed. The second objective was
• 2:32
Speaker 3: to eliminate Iran's Navy, and again the numbers whether hard
• 2:36
Speaker 3: to ignore. More than one hundred and fifty Iranian vessels
• 2:39
Speaker 3: have been destroyed or sunk, including over forty four mine layers.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: In fact, the Iranian Navy has now been assessed as
• 2:47
Speaker 3: being what is described as combat ineffective, with roughly ninety
• 2:52
Speaker 3: two percent of its largest ships completely wiped out. At
• 2:57
Speaker 3: this point, Iran has effectively lost the ability to project
• 3:00
Speaker 3: naval power in the region. There are currently no Iranian
• 3:04
Speaker 3: vessels operating in major regional waterways. Military officials say this
• 3:09
Speaker 3: is the largest elimination of a navy in a three
• 3:12
Speaker 3: week period since World War II, and a key focus
• 3:16
Speaker 3: remained securing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most
• 3:19
Speaker 3: critical energy choke points in the world. The third objective
• 3:23
Speaker 3: was to neutralize Iran's terrace proxies. Groups back by Iran,
• 3:29
Speaker 3: long known for destabilizing the region, are now described as
• 3:33
Speaker 3: barely putting up resistance. That's a major shift in the
• 3:37
Speaker 3: balance of power. And the fourth objective, and this is
• 3:40
Speaker 3: the big one, ensure Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.
• 3:45
Speaker 3: President Trump made it clear on this point and has
• 3:48
Speaker 3: for decades, reiterating it over and over again. In the
• 3:51
Speaker 3: last thirty days, Iran will never be allowed to obtain
• 3:55
Speaker 3: a nuclear weapon. Now, as for what comes next, this
• 3:58
Speaker 3: is where things got even more interesting, as the President
• 4:02
Speaker 3: started to lay out why his doctrine is very different
• 4:04
Speaker 3: from what we've seen in the past. You start out
• 4:07
Speaker 3: talking about Barack Obama giving Iran one point seven billion
• 4:12
  Speaker 3: in cash.
• 4:13
Speaker 1: And then very importantly, I terminated Barack Hussein Obama is
• 4:17
Speaker 1: a rand nuclear deal, a disaster. Obama gave them one
• 4:21
Speaker 1: point seven billion dollars in cash, green green cash, took
• 4:26
Speaker 1: it out of banks from Virginia, DC and Maryland. All
• 4:31
Speaker 1: the cash they had, flew it by aeroplanes in an
• 4:34
Speaker 1: attempt to buy their respect and loyalty. But it didn't work.
• 4:38
Speaker 1: They laughed at our president and went on with their
• 4:41
Speaker 1: mission to have a nuclear bomb. His Ran deal would
• 4:45
Speaker 1: have led to a colossal arsenal, massive nuclear weapons for Iran,
• 4:49
Speaker 1: and they would have had them years ago, and they
• 4:52
Speaker 1: would have used them. Would have been a different world.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: There would have been no Middle East and no Israel
• 4:58
Speaker 1: right now, in my opinion, the opinion of a lot
• 5:00
Speaker 1: of great experts, had I not terminated that terrible deal,
• 5:05
Speaker 1: I was so honored to do it. I was so
• 5:07
Speaker 1: proud to do it. It was so bad right from the beginning. Essentially,
• 5:10
Speaker 1: I did what no other president was willing to do.
• 5:14
Speaker 1: They made mistakes, and I am correcting them.
• 5:18
Speaker 3: The President talking about correcting those major mistakes that were
• 5:21
Speaker 3: made by past leaders who knew there was a threat
• 5:25
Speaker 3: but refused to act. The President also praised the US
• 5:28
Speaker 3: Armed Forces, saying this.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: As I stated in my announcement of Operation Epic Fury,
• 5:35
Speaker 1: our objectives are very simple and clear. We are systematically
• 5:40
Speaker 1: dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America or project power
• 5:44
Speaker 1: outside of their borders. That means eliminating Iran's navy, which
• 5:49
Speaker 1: is now absolutely destroyed, hurting their air force and their
• 5:55
Speaker 1: missile program at levels never seen before, and annihilating their
• 6:00
Speaker 1: defense industrial base. We've done all of it. Their navy
• 6:03
Speaker 1: is gone, their air force is gone, their missiles are
• 6:06
Speaker 1: just about used up or beaten. Taken together, these actions
• 6:10
Speaker 1: will cripple Iran military, crush their ability to support terrorist proxies,
• 6:15
Speaker 1: and deny them the ability to build a nuclear bomb.
• 6:19
Speaker 1: Our armed forces have been extraordinary. There's never been anything
• 6:24
Speaker 1: like it militarily. Everyone is talking about it, and tonight
• 6:28
Speaker 1: I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are
• 6:33
Speaker 1: nearing completion. As we celebrate this progress, we think especially
• 6:38
Speaker 1: of the thirteen American warriors who have laid down their
• 6:41
Speaker 1: lives in this fight to prevent our children from ever
• 6:45
Speaker 1: having to face a nuclear Iran.
• 6:48
Speaker 3: Clearly, President Trump understands that the message he has to
• 6:52
Speaker 3: explain to not only the US but to the world
• 6:54
Speaker 3: is that it's unacceptable for rand to ever get a
• 6:56
Speaker 3: nuclear weapon. There also is another part of this story, though,
• 7:00
Speaker 3: that's extremely important, and that is the strait of hormos
• 7:04
Speaker 3: and what will happen next. With the President saying this
• 7:08
Speaker 3: not only to every American but also to other countries
• 7:11
Speaker 3: around the world, including our allies.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: The countries of the world that do receive oil through
• 7:18
Speaker 1: the hormone strait must take care of that passage. They
• 7:21
Speaker 1: must cherish it. They must grab it and cherish it.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: They can do it easily. We will be helpful, but
• 7:29
Speaker 1: they should take the lead in protecting the oil that
• 7:31
Speaker 1: they so desperately depend on. So to those countries that
• 7:35
Speaker 1: can't get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved
• 7:39
Speaker 1: in the decapitation of our n we had to do
• 7:41
Speaker 1: it ourselves. I have a suggestion. Number one, buy oil
• 7:45
Speaker 1: from the United States of America. We have plenty, We
• 7:48
Speaker 1: have so much. And number two, build up some delayed courage.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: Should have done it before, should have done it with us,
• 7:55
Speaker 1: as we asked. Go to the strait and just take it,
• 7:59
Speaker 1: protect it, use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: The hard part is done, so it should be easy.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: And in any event, when this conflict is over, the
• 8:11
Speaker 1: strait will open up naturally. It'll just open up naturally.
• 8:15
Speaker 1: They're going to want to be able to sell oil
• 8:17
Speaker 1: because that's all they have to try and rebuild. It
• 8:20
Speaker 1: will resume the flowing, and the gas prices will rapidly
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: come back down.
• 8:26
Speaker 3: President Trump also said that the US is prepared economically
• 8:31
Speaker 3: to confront the effects of Iran's terror attacks on the
• 8:34
Speaker 3: Strait of Hormuz on the oil takers. And this is
• 8:37
Speaker 3: what the President said, you can expect.
• 8:39
Speaker 1: Many Americans have been concerned to see the recent rise
• 8:43
Speaker 1: in gasoline prices here at home. This short term increase
• 8:47
Speaker 1: has been entirely the result of the Iranian regime launching
• 8:51
Speaker 1: de range terror attacks against commercial oil tankers and neighboring
• 8:55
Speaker 1: countries that have nothing to do with the conflict. This
• 8:59
Speaker 1: is yet more proof that Iran can never be trusted
• 9:03
Speaker 1: with nuclear weapons. They will use them, and they will
• 9:05
Speaker 1: use them quickly. It would lead to decades of extortion,
• 9:10
Speaker 1: economic pain, and instability worse than we can ever imagine.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: The United States has never been better prepared economically to
• 9:19
Speaker 1: confront this threat. You all know that now.
• 9:22
Speaker 3: The President also wanted to make it very clear to
• 9:25
Speaker 3: everyone that was watching, that would include the bad guys
• 9:28
Speaker 3: in Iran, that America is not done. This also is
• 9:32
Speaker 3: very similar to the wording that we've seen used by Israel.
• 9:36
Speaker 3: They're not done yet either. One thing does seem to
• 9:39
Speaker 3: be clear. We are going to wrap this up within weeks,
• 9:43
Speaker 3: not months, And as the President closed things out, this
• 9:46
Speaker 3: is what he had to say to the world.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: Yet if during this period of time no deal is made,
• 9:51
Speaker 1: we have our eyes on key targets. If there is
• 9:55
Speaker 1: no deal, we are going to hit each and every
• 9:57
Speaker 1: one of their electric generating very hard, and probably simultaneously.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: We have not hit their oil, even though that's the
• 10:06
Speaker 1: easiest target of all because it would not give them
• 10:09
Speaker 1: even a small chance of survival or rebuilding. But we
• 10:14
Speaker 1: could hit it and it would be gone. And there's
• 10:17
Speaker 1: not a thing they could do about it. They have
• 10:20
Speaker 1: no anti aircraft equipment, Their radar is one hundred percent annihilated.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: We are unstoppable as a military force. The nuclear sites
• 10:31
Speaker 1: that we obliterated with the B two bombers have been
• 10:34
Speaker 1: hit so hard that it would take months to get
• 10:37
Speaker 1: near the nuclear dust, and we have it under intense
• 10:41
Speaker 1: satellite surveillance and control. If we see them make a move,
• 10:46
Speaker 1: even a move for it, will hit them with missiles
• 10:50
Speaker 1: very hard. Again, we have all the cards, they have none.
• 10:53
Speaker 1: It's very important that we keep this conflict in perspective.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: So there you have it in the United States of America,
• 11:01
Speaker 3: laying it out thirty one days in Operation Epic Fury.
• 11:06
Speaker 3: It's abundantly clear. Despite some in the media pretending otherwise,
• 11:09
Speaker 3: this has been a resounding military triumph. The objectives are
• 11:13
Speaker 3: clear as well from the start, and the President says
• 11:16
Speaker 3: we're executing it with overwhelming force. We expect to wrap
• 11:20
Speaker 3: it up in a matter of weeks, not months, and
• 11:24
Speaker 3: that is exactly what the President wanted you to hear
• 11:27
Speaker 3: from the White House.
