Latest / Sidekick's What Just Shipped / HubSpot Breeze in global search: summaries before you open | Shipped Jun 2026
Transcript
- 0:00Dana (AI host): You type a contact's name, and before you even open the record, Breeze has a summary and a next step waiting.
- 0:06Rob (AI host): That's HubSpot's global search since June, and since August it covers deals and companies too.
- 0:12Dana (AI host): Today, what changed, who gets it, the three facts that matter, and what to try on Monday.
- 0:20Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies.
- 0:24Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI.
- 0:26Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you.
- 0:35Dana (AI host): Full transparency, Rob and I are AI hosts, and nobody has ever handed us a pipeline.
- 0:40Rob (AI host): I'm leading the research today.
- 0:42Rob (AI host): Dana is playing a RevOps lead who wants reps to actually use Breeze.
- 0:46Dana (AI host): So, the change in one sentence.
- 0:48Rob (AI host): HubSpot's June product updates post says Breeze now appears in global search results for contacts, with a summary and suggested next actions based on the top result.
- 0:58Rob (AI host): Then HubSpot's August post added deals and companies, with the same summary and suggested actions for the top result.
- 1:05Dana (AI host): And which accounts have it?
- 1:06Rob (AI host): The June post says all hubs and tiers. No seat upgrade to chase.
- 1:11Rob (AI host): And it rides on a search bar that already covers a lot.
- 1:14Rob (AI host): The help page lists CRM records, activities, blog posts, website pages, marketing emails, segments, dashboards, workflows, and campaigns.
- 1:25Dana (AI host): Walk me through it like I'm a rep between calls.
- 1:27Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help page says click the search bar in the top left and start typing.
- 1:32Rob (AI host): Or press Command K on a Mac, Control K on Windows.
- 1:36Rob (AI host): Based on the available context for the top search result, Breeze may generate a short summary and show suggested actions.
- 1:43Rob (AI host): Click a suggested action, or click Ask Breeze, and Breeze Assistant opens with a pre-filled prompt.
- 1:49Dana (AI host): What kind of suggestions?
- 1:51Rob (AI host): Our research gives examples like reviewing recent activity, preparing for an upcoming meeting, or drafting a reply.
- 1:58Rob (AI host): And there's a second way in.
- 1:59Rob (AI host): Hover over a record in the results, and the help page says a preview pane opens, with Call, Email, and Add note buttons, plus a Breeze Assistant button that summarizes the record.
- 2:10Dana (AI host): So two doors. The suggestion under the top result, or the preview pane.
- 2:15Rob (AI host): That's how we read the help page, yes.
- 2:17Dana (AI host): Why put it in search?
- 2:19Rob (AI host): Our write-up describes the old routine.
- 2:21Rob (AI host): Search, click in, wait for the record, scroll the activity, read the notes, then decide.
- 2:28Rob (AI host): Four or five steps, just to remember where you left off.
- 2:31Rob (AI host): It also calls this a nudge.
- 2:34Rob (AI host): People skip AI tools when they're heads-down, so HubSpot put Breeze where reps already search dozens of times a day.
- 2:41Dana (AI host): Okay. Give me the facts that matter. Just three.
- 2:44Rob (AI host): First, it's about the top result.
- 2:46Rob (AI host): The summary is built for the top search result, not every row in the list.
- 2:51Rob (AI host): Second, what makes something the top result.
- 2:54Rob (AI host): The help page says global search returns at most one hundred results for records.
- 2:59Rob (AI host): And for companies, the ones that rise to the top are the ones you clicked most in global search over the last sixty days.
- 3:07Dana (AI host): Huh. So for companies, my own clicking habits shape what Breeze summarizes.
- 3:11Rob (AI host): Per the help page, yes. Third, it says may.
- 3:16Rob (AI host): Our write-up says thin records with limited activity may not trigger a summary at all.
- 3:22Dana (AI host): So the reps with the emptiest records get the least help.
- 3:25Rob (AI host): Pretty much. Better logging means better summaries.
- 3:28Dana (AI host): So it's there for every account, but it's only as good as the habits behind it.
- 3:32Rob (AI host): Right. That's the whole story in one line, really.
- 3:38George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies.
- 3:41George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission.
- 3:45George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): A smarter search box can't help a team that never got set up to log its work.
- 3:50George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Our HubSpot onboarding configures your portal and trains each role on the tools they'll use every day, with recordings for future hires.
- 3:59George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Then we check in thirty days after go-live to see what stuck.
- 4:02George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Ask about HubSpot onboarding at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
- 4:09Dana (AI host): Okay, Rob. Before the Monday plan, what couldn't we confirm?
- 4:13Rob (AI host): Three things, all in one place. First, what counts as enough context. HubSpot doesn't document it.
- 4:20Rob (AI host): Our write-up suggests logged calls, emails, meeting notes, and accurate lifecycle stages.
- 4:25Rob (AI host): Second, cost and control.
- 4:28Rob (AI host): HubSpot's August post says some Breeze features need Breeze AI credits, but not which ones.
- 4:33Rob (AI host): We found no number for this feature, and the help page doesn't say whether an admin can turn it off.
- 4:39Rob (AI host): Third, phones. Our write-up says web app only as of June.
- 4:43Rob (AI host): HubSpot's August post combined Breeze and global search into one entry point on Android, but doesn't say whether these summaries show there.
- 4:51Dana (AI host): So we test it ourselves, and we don't promise the team anything we haven't seen.
- 4:56Rob (AI host): That's our read. Your portal has the final word.
- 4:59Dana (AI host): Here's my Monday plan, as the RevOps lead.
- 5:01Dana (AI host): First, pick five contacts your reps will call this week, plus one deal and one company.
- 5:06Dana (AI host): Search each one and note what gets a summary.
- 5:09Dana (AI host): Second, for the ones that don't, check what's missing. Logged calls, notes, emails.
- 5:14Dana (AI host): Fix the logging habit, not just the one record.
- 5:17Rob (AI host): Third, teach the shortcut. Command K or Control K, then type the name.
- 5:23Rob (AI host): Make search the first move before every call.
- 5:26Dana (AI host): Fourth, try it on your phone, and write down what you see.
- 5:30Dana (AI host): That answers our open question for your team.
- 5:32Rob (AI host): And last, our write-up says review what Breeze produces and edit it before you act.
- 5:38Rob (AI host): The suggestion is a starting point, not a script.
- 5:42Dana (AI host): Who should see the demo first?
- 5:43Rob (AI host): Our write-up names reps running high-volume outreach, account executives prepping for calls, and service reps juggling open tickets.
- 5:52Rob (AI host): It also names RevOps leads and admins who want more Breeze use without forcing a training session.
- 5:58Dana (AI host): That's my role today. And I'd still run the training. Ten minutes, five contacts, one shortcut.
- 6:04Rob (AI host): So, in short.
- 6:06Rob (AI host): Search the name, read the summary, pick a next step, and check it before you send.
- 6:11Dana (AI host): Our sources are linked in the episode notes, along with our full research at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
- 6:17Rob (AI host): That's this one from Sidekick's What Just Shipped.
- 6:20Dana (AI host): Start with the search bar, and log the call after.
