  Speaker 1: to reach their hearts and minds and be able to

  Speaker 1: apply these verses to their lives. In the Lord Jesus

  Speaker 1: Christ's name I pray. Amen. Amen. So we're going to

  Speaker 1: be in Mark chapter 2, covering verse 1 through 15.

  Speaker 1: jump into it. And it's titled, Jesus Helps a Man
• 0:49
  Speaker 1: Who Cannot Walk. Verse 1. Several days after that, Jesus
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: returned to Capernaum. People heard the news that he had
• 1:00
  Speaker 1: come back to his home. Many people came into the house.
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: The house was so full that there was no room.
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: Even outside the door, Jesus was teaching people about the
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: good news. Before he could even get into the building
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: to do the miracles, he was teaching So crowded, couldn't
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: even get in. So four men came. They were carrying
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: another man on a mat. The man could not move
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: his legs. They could not reach Jesus because of the crowd.
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: So they made a hole in the roof above the
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: place where Jesus was. They helped the man to go
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: down through the hole. So he was still lying on
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: his mat. Verse 5, Jesus saw the man. and his friends,
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: and he knew that they believed in him. So he
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: said to the man who could not walk, my friend,
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: I forgive you for your sins. But some teachers of
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: God's law were sitting there. They thought about the words
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: that Jesus had spoken to the man. Being in awe
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: when you are being of encouragement to others, of course,
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: it's looking different to people that Have jealousy issues. Or
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: they don't get that kind of attention. Or they think
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: it's fake. But everybody's going to have their opinion. You know. But.
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: Jesus was just so calm. And. He saw. The people
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: bringing his friend to them. To him. To heal him.
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: Just having that belief. I mean it's like. That's half
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: of it. You know, that's how God works. You know,
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: and it's verse 6. But some teachers of God's law
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: were sitting there. They thought about, and we said this,
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: this was verse 7. They thought this man, Jesus, should
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: not have said that. He is speaking as if he
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: is God. He said he was the Son of God.
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: Only God can forgive people for their sins. Well, the
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: Son of God can as well. Verse 8. Immediately, Jesus
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: knew his spirit, what the teachers were thinking. He said
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: to them, You should not think these things. I said
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: to this man who cannot walk, I forgive you for
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: your sins. Instead, I could have said to him, Stand up,
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: pick up your mat and walk. Which of those is
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: easier for me to say? But I want you to
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: know this. I, the son of man, have authority on
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: earth to forgive people for their sins. Then he said
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: to the man, who could not walk, I am saying
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: to you, stand up, pick up your mat, and go home.
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: Immediately the man stood up, he picked up his mat,
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: and he walked out of the house. Everyone watched him
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: do this. The people were very surprised. They praised God,
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: and they said, God is great. We have never seen
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: anything like this before. So when Jesus came, and doing
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: all these miracles, which there could be a whole book
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: about all the miracles, This is just eyewitnesses... That didn't
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: see everything else that Jesus seen. Just like we all
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: have a story, right? So when somebody else... You have
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: 11 different point of views. You know... And then you
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: have the Old Testament. We have the New Covenant. Thank
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: God that He sent Jesus to make it a little
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: easier for us. And... Having the Holy Spirit as... Not
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: only just a gift... Like a lot of us use
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: it for. But also a guider. A healer. The list
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: goes on. So let's go a little deeper though into this.

  Speaker 1: Jesus chose Levi to be his disciple. Jesus went to
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: the shore of Lake Galilee again. A large crowd came
• 5:10
  Speaker 1: to him. And he taught them. Verse 14. While Jesus
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: was walking along. He saw a man called Levi. The
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: son of Alpha Heresia. Levi's job was to take taxes
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: from people. He was sitting in his office. Jesus said
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: to him, come with me and be my disciple. Levi
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: stood up and he went with Jesus. Then Jesus went
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: to eat a meal at Levi's house. That's why all
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: of us gather and we eat, right? Let me go
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: a little deeper. Many people followed Jesus and they ate
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: there with him and with his disciples. Many of these
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: were bad people and also evil. Men who took taxes.
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: We're all bad people. We all fall short of God's standards.
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: None of us are Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God.

  Speaker 1: Believing in the Son of God. Having that Holy Spirit
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: through the relationship with Jesus is no better feeling. Take
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: it from somebody that has 37 years on this life
• 6:12
  Speaker 1: that has seen enough. And the good, the bad of all.
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: And This way is better. And. When Jesus chooses you.
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: Doesn't matter how far away. You try to get. The
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit is always there. When you accept Jesus Christ
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: as your Lord and Savior. From that point forward. There
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: is a spirit that walks with you and in you. And.
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: Doesn't mean that it's. Like an invisible coat. No. But it's.
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: Deeper than a lot of people may think. And. I
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: want to keep it brief on this. Because we're talking about.
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: Jesus helps a man who cannot walk. How many of us.
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: Can't really walk. Without having pains. But Jesus can heal.

  Speaker 1: But you got to stay consistent with. Not only just
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: reading the Bible. But talking to him. Like you talk
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: to the people on your phone. He wants to hear
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: from you. And the good, the bad, the horrible times.
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: And I just know this from experience. And I know
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: that there's people that are listening. And we just covered
• 7:39
  Speaker 1: one through 15. And it was so smooth. And that's
• 7:46
  Speaker 1: why the Ember Show is going to be getting a
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: little More. Time. On the episodes. So it will go
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: from 15 to 30. And gradually you know 45. But
• 7:59
  Speaker 1: that's no time soon. But. I want to. Take this

  Speaker 1: We might go to 1 to 20. But we start

  Speaker 1: at 1. We go to 15 or 20. And we're

  Speaker 1: going to go do a part 2. Where it's 16

  Speaker 1: to 30. It's just keeping it very simple. And not
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: going too far into the verses as well. So it's
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: really breaking it down to where we're going to apply
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: it to our lives. And having the Holy Spirit be
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: the guide. Amen. So... I love this gospel because my
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: name is Mark, and I've always gotten kind of a,
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: I've always kind of gotten a rap like, oh, that's
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: a Bible name. Little did they know I was a rebel.
• 9:04
  Speaker 1: I definitely grew up with a father that smoked weed
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: in the house, and I grew up going to bars.
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: I grew up seeing, you know, my dad smoke, or,
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: not a whole lot, but, I mean, I've just seen
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: a lot of drinking, and going, to places where, you know,
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: someone of my age shouldn't, and, seeing my dad be
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: okay with it, you know, and me going along with it, is,
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: a bond, time that we've had, but it was also
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: something that, caused friction later on, and, and, in our relationship,
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: going as, he went, stage four lung cancer five years ago,
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: he passed. And that, I definitely didn't grieve correctly. You know?
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: but I can say now after five and a half
• 10:03
  Speaker 1: almost six years and being in a program for two
• 10:09
  Speaker 1: two years and three months as of right now and
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: it's been very beneficial I'm still carrying you know the
• 10:20
  Speaker 1: The crazy characteristics. I'm still a work in progress. Everyone
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: thinks that you just ask God to just take things
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: away and it doesn't work that way. You have to
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: put the work in. And that's getting in the Bible.
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: That's also getting around like-minded people that believe in God.
• 10:38
  Speaker 1: That not necessarily just preach it all the time. There's
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: other things and activities that can be done. And there's
• 10:44
  Speaker 1: other things that you can do to glorify God by
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: becoming You know, one with the community and being able
• 10:52
  Speaker 1: to volunteer. These are things I didn't think about when
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: I was drinking for 20 years. And being a believer
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: for 20 years. So now being a follower, this is
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: like no joke. I mean, you can put me under
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: the telescope. And I'll be honest about my recovery as well.
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: You know, I definitely want to let everyone know that's
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: listening to this episode that I adore Jesus because... I
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: want to be just like Jesus. But I can only
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: get a quarter of Jesus. All of us cannot even
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: come close. But the best part about it is, it's
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: not a competition. He loves us all in our own
• 11:43
  Speaker 1: uniquely made ways. And He knows our purposes. Jesus not
• 11:53
  Speaker 1: only did a miracle. Back then. He's still doing miracles today.
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: I got 303. I just seen this angel number. And
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: I am a walking testimony. Because. Yeah. The spirit definitely
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: led me. And I'm so grateful that I made it. Because.
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: There were some days I didn't. I didn't feel the
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: presence of God. I didn't feel warm. I didn't feel loved.
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: I felt alone. I felt cold. I felt ashamed. I
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: felt all these different things and to find somebody that
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: took me for who I was at where I was
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: at getting closer to that two year mark and then
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: for it to go where it's at today after, you know,
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: multiple months and planning and just never being able to
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: get along with each other consistently. And I have to,
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: you know, take accountability. I am definitely a sucker for
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: love and I don't mind letting the woman that I
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: love know that I love her. and saying it and
• 13:22
  Speaker 1: not only saying it but being in action throughout the
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: day you know and the things I would say to
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: God about her thanking him after a conversation on the
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: phone or a text message or I see a picture
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: of her now I have to you know realize that
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: the no contact is going to be beneficial because It's
• 13:50
  Speaker 1: going to take time to heal. I just know that
• 13:52
  Speaker 1: I can't see anything pop up. And it won't. I
• 13:56
  Speaker 1: love her to death though. I believe that we are soulmates.
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: And we need to be together. But maybe it's just
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: not our time. I got one minute. I want to
• 14:05

  Speaker 1: relationship issue you go through. As long as you love yourself.

  Speaker 1: And you love God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I'm

  Speaker 1: than okay. Give it a try. Give Jesus a try.

  Speaker 1: that's really walking with Christ like I am, I pray
