• 0:01
Speaker 1: Good Friday morning. Nice to have you with us on
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Verdict with Center Ted Cruz and if you are listening
• 0:06
Speaker 1: right now, we are giving you a update of where
• 0:08
Speaker 1: we are and what's happening. So Center, I'm in Jerusalem
• 0:11
Speaker 1: right now. I am going to be flying back to
• 0:14
Speaker 1: the Estatus Ainos in several hours. This is all happening
• 0:19
Speaker 1: while the government shutdown is being negotiated as we're recording this.
• 0:24
Speaker 1: And so what we decide to do is let you
• 0:26
Speaker 1: know the audience that hey, we're seeing some movement on
• 0:29
Speaker 1: the government shutdown. And then when as soon as I
• 0:32
Speaker 1: land on Friday back in America, flying back in time,
• 0:35
Speaker 1: we're going to get together and give you an update
• 0:37
Speaker 1: on where we are on the actual government shutdown. But
• 0:40
Speaker 1: for people that are listening right now, let's timestamp to
• 0:43
Speaker 1: this center. Say know when we're doing this, this is
• 0:45
Speaker 1: I'm in Thursday, are you? And Wednesday?
• 0:48
Speaker 2: Right now, I'm in Wednesday. That's the in the future.
• 0:51
Speaker 1: I am finally smarter than you. Let's just make that
• 0:54
Speaker 1: moment clear. I know more than you, Senator, for the
• 0:56
Speaker 1: first time ever. This feels very good.
• 0:58
Speaker 2: You know, like Socrates, the one thing I know is
• 1:00
Speaker 2: how little I know so I'm happy to concede that,
• 1:03
Speaker 2: my friend. So it is right now eleven twenty two
• 1:06
Speaker 2: pm Wednesday, DC time, and at this point we were
• 1:09
Speaker 2: actually sitting down to record Friday's podcast because Ben is
• 1:13
Speaker 2: going to be on an airplane all day tomorrow when
• 1:15
Speaker 2: we would actually normally record it. And we realize the problem,
• 1:19
Speaker 2: which is the government is shutdown right now and we
• 1:21
Speaker 2: don't know if and when the government is going to open. Now.
• 1:24
Speaker 2: I'll tell you, as of lunch today, Republican leadership in
• 1:28
Speaker 2: the Senate thought there was a very good chance Senate
• 1:31
Speaker 2: Democrats would open the government in the next twenty four
• 1:34
Speaker 2: or forty eight hours. It takes. We've got to get
• 1:37
Speaker 2: at least seven Democrats agreeing enough is enough. Let this
• 1:41
Speaker 2: never ending, the longest shutdown in history end. But as
• 1:44
Speaker 2: I sit here Wednesday night, I don't know if that
• 1:46
Speaker 2: will happen. I told Ben, look, we'll know probably sometime Thursday.
• 1:50
Speaker 2: There's a chance the government opens on Thursday. It's Wednesday night.
• 1:54
  Speaker 2: I don't know if that's going to happen. There's a
• 1:56
Speaker 2: chance the government opens on Friday. And there's a chance
• 2:00
Speaker 2: if you have the sort of left lane extreme and
• 2:02
Speaker 2: the Democrats subject that the government opens on Saturday. They
• 2:05
Speaker 2: can delay the vote until Saturday to reopen the government.
• 2:09
Speaker 2: There's also a chance that Democrats look at the election
• 2:12
Speaker 2: results from Tuesday night they say, the crazies are resurgent.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: To hell with it, let's keep it shut down even longer.
• 2:19
Speaker 2: So we could be facing a government shutdown that extends
• 2:21
Speaker 2: into next week rather than have a show where if
• 2:24
Speaker 2: the government has just opened up and Ben and I
• 2:27
Speaker 2: are not talking about it, you guys would think, what
• 2:29
Speaker 2: the heck is wrong with these people? How are you
• 2:30
Speaker 2: not discussing that obvious news. We're going to give you
• 2:34
Speaker 2: this little teaser. Ben will be on an airplane, so
• 2:37
Speaker 2: I can't record the show while he's on an airplane.
• 2:40
Speaker 2: He will land mid morning Friday. We will record it
• 2:43
Speaker 2: on Friday. We will put the show out later on Friday,
• 2:46
Speaker 2: and hopefully then we will know. My hope is that
• 2:49
Speaker 2: the Friday show will begin. Hallelujah, hallelujah. The government is
• 2:53
Speaker 2: open again. The Democrats have surrendered. I don't know if
• 2:56
Speaker 2: that will happen, but sure would be a good result.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: It would be great. I have one question that people
• 3:00
Speaker 1: are gonna go nuts. If I don't ask you, you
• 3:02
Speaker 1: said we need seven Democrats on TV. We've been hearing
• 3:06
Speaker 1: the number six. Why did you say the number seven?
• 3:09
Speaker 1: Democrats need to pass this so they understand the logistics.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: So we actually need eight.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: We need fifty. Okay, so we need eight.
• 3:15
Speaker 2: So explain, they're fifty three Republicans. To open the government,
• 3:18
Speaker 2: you need sixty votes. Fifty three plus seven is sixty. However,
• 3:22
Speaker 2: Rand Paul is voting with the Democrats over and over
• 3:25
Speaker 2: and over again to keep the government shut down. So
• 3:27
Speaker 2: if you assume Rand is a no, and he almost
• 3:29
Speaker 2: surely is, then we have fifty two Republicans and we
• 3:32
Speaker 2: got to have eight Democrats. That's the math. We may
• 3:35
Speaker 2: end up with ten or twelve Democrats, but we need
• 3:37
Speaker 2: a minimum of eight. If we don't have eight, the
• 3:39
Speaker 2: government stays shut down.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: So there's the math for you. So look, check back here.
• 3:43
Speaker 1: We will be back with a episode when I land.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: We get together and hopefully we have good news that
• 3:49
Speaker 1: the crazies and the Democratic Party have decided that the
• 3:51
Speaker 1: United States government should be open. And we'll keep you
• 3:54
Speaker 1: up down that say, well, prayer for a long flight
• 3:56
Speaker 1: across the pond, as they say, I'll be travels from Jerusalem.
• 4:00
Speaker 1: Thank you, sir, and we'll see you back here. If
• 4:02
Speaker 1: you're listening, just keep looking for updates. We'll put it
• 4:04
Speaker 1: out also on X as soon as the episode goes live,
• 4:07
Speaker 1: Center Cruz will put on X I will as well
• 4:08
Speaker 1: on social media, so you guys know. But check back
• 4:10
Speaker 1: this afternoon and we'll see you then.
