Latest / Film Curious / Streaming Spotlight: No Hard Feelings - Why We Miss These Kinds of Comedies & Crave More of Them
Transcript
- 0:00We don't get a lot of these types of films anymore, I don't think.
- 0:03It's a straight comedy that has a lot of heart to it though.
- 0:06In a similar way to like romantic comedy, where like,
- 0:09there's that conversation of there's not as many of those anymore.
- 0:13And like when we were younger,
- 0:14like how just how many there were, there were so solid.
- 0:16But yeah, you're right.
- 0:18I think that that is probably a big part of why I enjoyed it so much.
- 0:21Is it because it did remind me of those really solid comedies that we had
- 0:25when we were younger?
- 0:26And I think that there is part of me that kind of craves
- 0:29that.
- 0:45Hello and welcome to film curious.
- 0:46Today I'm joined by a.
- 0:48New guest to the pod, but she will be a regular coming on here
- 0:52hopefully for me a bunch.
- 0:54She is my best friend.
- 0:56So I mean, there you go. That's that's why she's really.
- 0:59No no no, she's she's she's really on this show.
- 1:02Besides that, I love talking with her and I talk easily with her
- 1:06is because she is a writer and a professor.
- 1:11So she is much smarter than me
- 1:14when it comes to eloquently stating her thoughts.
- 1:18She's going to shake her head.
- 1:20But no, it's true.
- 1:21She's much better at expressing kind of an a literary
- 1:26way, storytelling, and I kind of bumble around it.
- 1:30And sometimes I hit eloquent, but Nicole hits it most of the time.
- 1:34So welcome, Nicole. How are you?
- 1:36I'm I'm excited.
- 1:39I missed doing a podcast with you.
- 1:41And I do love talking to you.
- 1:43So excited to be here.
- 1:45Oh, well, thanks for coming on. Yeah.
- 1:46And Nicole mentioned we had done a podcast
- 1:49in in the past, the Barca lounger and we would cover shows.
- 1:54And then we did the Barca Lounger Limited and we covered limited series.
- 1:57But then I do I do miss that.
- 1:59Miss those days.
- 2:00That was a fun podcast. But that was about four years ago now.
- 2:03So it was wild.
- 2:05Yeah okay. You
- 2:08yeah.
- 2:09Don't ever add the dates to things because.
- 2:11Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:12But you know we're back.
- 2:14And so I'm excited to be doing film.
- 2:16And this movie is something that I was actually really interested in
- 2:20watching at the time that it had come out.
- 2:22And I don't mean to like throw Ryan, my partner, under the bus here,
- 2:26but he was like absolutely had no interest in seeing this film.
- 2:30It was not going to happen for me.
- 2:32I don't think I was going to watch this movie
- 2:34unless I had like a night, you know, alone
- 2:37that I really was looking for some junk food type movies to watch.
- 2:42But Nicole actually had
- 2:44I remember when you had seen it, I think you mentioned to me
- 2:46that it was actually pretty good, and so I finally got around to watching it.
- 2:50It is about three years ago
- 2:51now, so this is no hard feelings with Jennifer Lawrence.
- 2:56And I finally got around to watching it, and I was so pleasantly
- 3:01surprised by how much I enjoyed this film
- 3:05that I felt the need to mention it and to talk about it.
- 3:08I think it's on Hulu is what I watched it on.
- 3:11So you can go out and catch that.
- 3:13You don't have to go out.
- 3:14You can put out to put on your TV,
- 3:18download it on your iPad on the next flight you have or something,
- 3:22and give it a watch, because it's very enjoyable.
- 3:26And it's no by no means a this great, prestigious film,
- 3:31you know, like but it reminded me of kind of like the really solid comedies
- 3:36that we would have growing up in like the, the from like 2005 to 2010.
- 3:41I feel like we had like a lot of really funny comedies.
- 3:44So if you don't know about No Hard Feelings, you didn't
- 3:47see it come up or see a trailer when it was coming out.
- 3:51It's written and directed by Jean stepped up.
- 3:54I'm going to pronounce the name wrong, apparently Jean stuff Nikki
- 3:58and co-writer John Phillips, and then directed by Jean.
- 4:02The basis of this movie is Jennifer Lawrence.
- 4:05Character is on the brink of losing her home, and she finds an intriguing job
- 4:09listing from these helicopter parents who's looking for someone
- 4:13to bring their introverted 19 year old son out of his shell before college.
- 4:18She has one summer to
- 4:19make him a man or die trying, which is the line from the synopsis.
- 4:23I guess it's like the tagline, but she's basically hired to date him
- 4:29and potentially potentially sleep with him.
- 4:32The parents are not.
- 4:34Don't rule that out when they hire her, which is another little crazy thing.
- 4:39And also small note do you know how easy it is
- 4:43to make these things not so weird if you just make the younger person
- 4:46in the movie like of age.
- 4:49Like, do you know how it's a slight detail,
- 4:52but like, not as weird if he's 19
- 4:55and not 17, it's that easy. Like
- 5:00we like, come on, let's let's just make this normal, that like,
- 5:03we make people adults if they're especially if they're going
- 5:06to be interacting with people like ten years older than them,
- 5:10there's some real crazy slapstick comedy and no hard feelings that, like,
- 5:15I don't, is like wildly out of control and like, I don't appreciate.
- 5:20But like,
- 5:22aside from those outrageous scenes,
- 5:26I thought that, like, Jennifer Lawrence actually had a great performance.
- 5:31I mean, she always has great performances,
- 5:33and that's actually why I was interested in the movie in the first place.
- 5:36Not that the trailers looked amazing to me, but just that I was like,
- 5:40I love seeing Jennifer Lawrence in films.
- 5:43Why not?
- 5:43You know, and I think she played this really well.
- 5:48I was impressed by her delivery of this character,
- 5:53how she interacted with her costar Andrew Barth Feldman.
- 5:58I mean, he did a great job, too.
- 5:59He was very cute.
- 6:02But I thought they had they interacted well together.
- 6:05They played off really well together. And I like that.
- 6:08This story, you know, they don't they don't fall for each other.
- 6:12How could they?
- 6:13They're so two totally different characters.
- 6:15She's like a, you know, a 35 year old woman or a 32 year
- 6:19old woman, however older.
- 6:20She's Felicity and he's a 19 year old.
- 6:22And like he looks at and you can tell that like she doesn't
- 6:26have an interest in him sexually or as a as someone to actually date.
- 6:31But I think it was a really good foil for these two to be vulnerable.
- 6:35You know, like two characters who one sheltered
- 6:39and shy, which is what is this?
- 6:43What's what's the character's actual name? Percy.
- 6:45And she's a foil to him.
- 6:46But I guess this is this kind of classic, like,
- 6:50you think that the old one is going to teach the young one, right?
- 6:53But really it's, you know,
- 6:55the young one teaches the old one a lot to, a lot more to.
- 6:59And so like, that's a foil for Jennifer Lawrence's character
- 7:03to Maddy to open up and be vulnerable to.
- 7:07Like, I think that that that was a really sweet times where he kind of
- 7:12he's helping her kind of grapple with, like the loss of her mother
- 7:15and the potential loss of her home and all her issues with vulnerability.
- 7:19You know, it was a great watch.
- 7:22Yeah, I was very pleasantly surprised.
- 7:24I think we had similar experiences because
- 7:28it made me
- 7:29think about when we watched 21 Jump Street.
- 7:32Actually.
- 7:33Because I don't know how long ago that was, but you and I, like we were
- 7:38we went and we picked up a movie at like,
- 7:40what was that called like letterbox red, red box.
- 7:43Was it red?
- 7:44I think. You know. So funny.
- 7:47Hold on to your thought.
- 7:48Don't get rid of it. Hold on to your thought.
- 7:50This movie came up a couple of weeks ago with Pete
- 7:54when we were talking about Project Hail Mary and and Phil Lord and Chris
- 7:58Miller, who did Project Hail Mary, but they also did the Jump streets.
- 8:02And so. Anyway and we.
- 8:04Went to continue, but we both were like, yeah, we like the Jump Street movies.
- 8:09I do well because I
- 8:10remember we went and we picked it up and we didn't have high expectations.
- 8:14I think we were both just like there was nothing really that we wanted to see more.
- 8:18And then we both like loved it.
- 8:21It was, you know, we didn't expect to be like laughing that hard.
- 8:25And it was just so it was
- 8:26so it was a lot more than we thought that it was going to be.
- 8:30And I had a similar experience with this.
- 8:32I watched it when I was visiting a mutual friend that we have named Kobe.
- 8:38I was visiting, and she said to because I was like, oh, I don't know, you know?
- 8:42And she was like, no, I already watched it and it's so good.
- 8:44And I was like, all right. And I. Was.
- 8:48I thought, like, maybe I would laugh, but I was I had a similar thought to where
- 8:52I think while I was watching it, I was appreciating the subtlety
- 8:56in some of the performances and like, yeah, you're right, some of it's not.
- 9:00A lot of people like jumping on cars and like the, you know,
- 9:03the physical comedy
- 9:06is maybe not my favorite thing about it, but the way that she played that role
- 9:11and then also just some of the choices in the story of like, how they
- 9:15come together and how
- 9:17they help each other kind of grow up in certain ways.
- 9:21You know, that he needs to grow up, but she also needs to like,
- 9:25grow up in terms of she's stuck that she is very much like
- 9:28attached to where she's from and the house and this idea of her mom and like,
- 9:34not moving forward in her life
- 9:36and that there's just like so many times in the movie where it does
- 9:40it is very aware and it I think it makes, you know, constantly.
- 9:45Yeah. Like, this is not a romance.
- 9:47Like, this is not but this is a story about like it's a very weird, random way
- 9:52that these two people that maybe never would have met are drawn together,
- 9:56and they're both better for it by the end of it.
- 9:59And that she, over the course of the movie to that both of them realize
- 10:04he sees the goodness in her and she sees like the genuine goodness in him.
- 10:07And that's also maybe something
- 10:08that she's not used to experiencing with the romantic relationships
- 10:13that she pursues, you know, or that she's actually active in.
- 10:17But that too, that there was never any moment
- 10:20in the movie where I was like, worried about art.
- 10:24They going to make this romantic?
- 10:26Actually, you know, like, I, I really appreciated that.
- 10:29I was not concerned.
- 10:30I think that I wasn't, you know, right, that the movie took us
- 10:33so many opportunities or like the one time where eventually, you know,
- 10:39like they kind of try to have sex doesn't work out.
- 10:42You know, it's like from the from the beginning of the scene, like it's
- 10:46not a romantic scene.
- 10:48Like it very much is like he just is inexperienced
- 10:52and he's upset too, because he's found out that she's
- 10:55dating him because of his parent.
- 10:56And like, it's a whole thing.
- 10:58So, you know, I think even just that scene to
- 11:02you see, like in her face, in his face, like she's also super uncomfortable
- 11:07that they're both just kind of like, this is not, you know,
- 11:11there's no way that this was ever going to be that kind of a relationship.
- 11:15The fact that, you know, when she first
- 11:18is trying to kind of maybe seduce him, that he thinks that she's kidnaping him.
- 11:23That was just that was.
- 11:26Because I also thinks that it shows
- 11:29like the that the Maddie character.
- 11:33Yeah, she's Jennifer Lawrence, she's gorgeous.
- 11:35Like she's drop dead gorgeous, you know, like,
- 11:38who wouldn't fall for her when she walks in. Yeah.
- 11:41The the the adoption center when she, they for the characters
- 11:45first meet but like she's so
- 11:48she is convincing in that like she has no game.
- 11:52Yeah. Like that that like Maddie.
- 11:55Like you do believe that like Jennifer Lawrence has no game, you know?
- 11:58Like she doesn't know what she's doing either. Yeah.
- 12:00She's just like, I don't know, I put this dress on.
- 12:02I know how to look hot, but, like, I really am not my skills with seduction.
- 12:06Like, really don't go further than that.
- 12:08Or like.
- 12:09And that she's just so that the character is herself
- 12:13and that she's got no planning and that like that moment too.
- 12:18I remember where like they go skinny dipping and I think some kids, like,
- 12:22take their clothes and she's completely naked and starts,
- 12:25I guess, like beating the shit from when I remember, she says.
- 12:28And he's like terrified, you know?
- 12:30Like he's just like, I don't want to then go someplace with you, like,
- 12:34have any kind of like, you know, like he's scared because she's
- 12:37just so intense and just even the fact of that too, though,
- 12:41but like the way that the nudity does work in the scene, that it is so funny
- 12:46because she's so uninhibited and just doesn't care at all.
- 12:49And it's just like piss,
- 12:51you know, she's like, I'm just going to beat these kids up.
- 12:54But I, I think I was expecting especially like watching the trailers
- 12:59or if you even just told me the idea of the movie,
- 13:03that I had an expectation for what it would be.
- 13:06And I'm always really happy when a movie does surprise me
- 13:10and it strikes me too, is like the type of movie that
- 13:14the same storyline in someone else's hands would have been
- 13:16the movie that I thought it would be and I wouldn't have liked.
- 13:20So I, I just appreciated there were so many choices that they made
- 13:25where I think they were very careful to not go where you expected it to go
- 13:30and that both of them.
- 13:31But yeah, especially Jennifer Lawrence, that she's just so
- 13:35she makes the character so likable and so charming,
- 13:38even while she's being kind of awful or just like a complete mess.
- 13:43Meredith. Yes,
- 13:44I like the party scene where she walks in and they're like, whose mom is this?
- 13:50And she
- 13:53I also I'm like, man, we're watching this.
- 13:56I'm like, we're at an age now where, you know, I relate to
- 14:00Jennifer Lawrence a lot more, where she gets all pissed off
- 14:03at them about like what they're recording on social media
- 14:06and she tries to make, like, a homophobic joke,
- 14:11I guess, or a gay joke that would be like the norm
- 14:14for our generation in high school or whatever, you know?
- 14:17Not cool. Never cool.
- 14:18But like, she makes this joke and I'm like the kids at the party,
- 14:23like, call her out for it and like, are recording her saying it
- 14:26and being like this.
- 14:27This woman just was homophobic. And she's like, what? No.
- 14:30I just I'm just trying to say that you suck like.
- 14:34Well, that too though, again, I feel like it kept bringing me back
- 14:38to 21 Jump Street, because that's similar thing in the opening where like,
- 14:41they go back to school and say, like he does, try me.
- 14:45And I think that he does use it in a derogatory steroid
- 14:49somebody and or he's like, did you push him down because he's gay?
- 14:52And he's like, what? No.
- 14:54Like I, you know, or just like that, it's
- 14:57it's funny or it's cool to like, not care about school and not be smart.
- 15:01And you just very quickly realize like, no,
- 15:04like generate like this is not how the kids are now.
- 15:07Like, you were very much out of me, but that yeah, you feel for her
- 15:12and I guess it, it is depending on like how old you are watching this movie.
- 15:16But her being that specific age that were very many moments
- 15:21and especially even just like the fact that she is
- 15:24stuck, that she is kind of a mess,
- 15:27you know, that she doesn't have it together and that there are a lot of ways
- 15:31he's very young and very inexperienced, but there are certain things
- 15:34where it seems like he is more emotionally mature than her.
- 15:38He realizes something about her life that she does not realize.
- 15:42Yeah, where he is legitimately trying to date her.
- 15:45You know, that's another little adorable aspect of this film.
- 15:48Is he's legitimately.
- 15:51Like trying to ask her about herself and who she is.
- 15:54And he.
- 15:56Was like, why would I want to sleep with you?
- 15:57I don't know, like, I want to. Get to know you.
- 16:00And she's just kind of like, what do we need to know?
- 16:02Like, just just chug the alcohol and have fun.
- 16:06He's definitely a really nice fold into, like, her
- 16:10emotionally caring about things or like being a little bit more introspective,
- 16:14but I was just really lovely.
- 16:17I have to mention the supporting cast because they were great.
- 16:20I mean, you have Matthew Broderick
- 16:23as his father and Laura Benanti as a mother.
- 16:27They were great. They were just a great little.
- 16:29They didn't have many, many scenes, but when they were there, I remember just
- 16:34cackling, cracking up their interactions with Jennifer Lawrence.
- 16:38Also the way Jennifer Lawrence interacts with them and her quick responses,
- 16:43her delivery, just like her meeting her comedic timing is very good.
- 16:47In those scenes with the back and forth with the parents and then,
- 16:52oh my God, I'm looking at this cast list right now,
- 16:54and I forgot that his son pops up as a realtor.
- 17:01Oh, God.
- 17:02I totally forgot about that.
- 17:04But then she's got her ex-boyfriend who took her car in the very beginning,
- 17:08and he's kind of recurs a little bit throughout the film.
- 17:12Why do I always have such. A hard time?
- 17:13I just want to call him Desi from girls every time.
- 17:16I know he's been on the bear now,
- 17:17I know he's been in a bunch of things and like, yeah.
- 17:20Yvonne Moss Bachrach am I saying his name right?
- 17:24Do you know how to say. His name?
- 17:25I don't to where I would bet you so.
- 17:30Moss Bacharach I don't know, somebody can say that.
- 17:33I totally butchered that.
- 17:35And then I want to highlight who played the couple that were her best friends.
- 17:40Scott MacArthur.
- 17:41He. I actually just saw him in Running Point recently, like most recently.
- 17:45Have you watched that show with Kate Hudson in it?
- 17:48Surprisingly good.
- 17:49Another it's enjoyable again.
- 17:51Another like surprisingly enjoyable show.
- 17:53He plays a brother in Running Point, but he plays the best
- 17:57friend's husband and then I recognize it from.
- 18:00Oh, here we go. Natalie Morales.
- 18:02Yeah, she plays the best friend
- 18:05of Jennifer Lawrence, and I just think they were hilarious.
- 18:09They were great.
- 18:09It was a small supporting cast and maybe not like the biggest stars
- 18:15in the supporting roles, but they did their jobs so superbly.
- 18:20Yeah, they really did elevate the story
- 18:25I felt or added to the supplemented the comedy.
- 18:28But like, they weren't extreme, you know, and you know,
- 18:32if I,
- 18:32if I have one critique, the big slapstick physical comedy
- 18:38moments, some of them were like some of them cracked me up, right.
- 18:42Like are getting pepper sprayed by him.
- 18:45He said she's.
- 18:46A kidnaping. Kidnap him.
- 18:49Also she's she's like, how can you get kidnaped
- 18:51your 19.
- 18:55And like that.
- 18:56That was hilarious.
- 18:58But there were other times where I was like
- 19:01towards the end, the one in the ending, I was like, this is ridiculous.
- 19:04Like, this is the car ones, like the driving
- 19:07with people on cars running joke like that was a little bit ridiculous.
- 19:11So like maybe, maybe that would be my my one critique.
- 19:16But you know what?
- 19:17Like at the end of the day, it is a comedy, right?
- 19:20So I'm not I'm not asking this for this film to be a dramedy.
- 19:22That would be asking it to be something that it's not, you know?
- 19:26And so I think it does the job really well.
- 19:31And it's a, I don't know how it performed at the box office.
- 19:37I don't think very well.
- 19:40Let me look it up real quick,
- 19:41but I think a lot of people might have been okay, so
- 19:4687 million worldwide
- 19:50and it's reported production budget of 45 million.
- 19:55So I mean, yeah, I guess it's a
- 19:56it's a solid performance.
- 19:59But yeah, I don't, I don't know, it's just I wanted to make to bring it to light
- 20:04just because if you thought that maybe it wasn't like if you're more like
- 20:09snobby film watcher like me, sometimes I think it's worth it.
- 20:14I think, like, if you live for a good time and it's not like junk food at all,
- 20:19like, I think it's like a legitimately well-done comedy.
- 20:22We don't get a lot of these types of films anymore.
- 20:26I don't think
- 20:27it's just it's a straight comedy that has a lot of heart to it, though.
- 20:31Yeah.
- 20:31It it until you said that, I mean, in a similar way
- 20:36to like romantic comedy where like there's that conversation of
- 20:40there's not as many of those anymore.
- 20:42And like when we were younger and like how just how many there were,
- 20:45there were so solid. But yeah, you're right.
- 20:48I think that that is probably a big part of why enjoyed it so much.
- 20:51Is it because it didn't remind me
- 20:53of those really solid comedies that we had when we were younger,
- 20:56that were coming out continually, you know, like we had a lot of them.
- 21:00And I think that there is part of me that kind of craves that
- 21:05and that maybe like, yeah, like there are certain movies,
- 21:09not that I'm very high proportion with my movies, but like, you know,
- 21:14there are certain things that are going to peak my interest
- 21:15and that I'll look out for and, and like seek out to go see this movie.
- 21:20I think that maybe there were many people that probably like me,
- 21:24like, saw that and they were like, oh, I don't know, like,
- 21:27I think I know what it's going to be like.
- 21:28I don't have to see it.
- 21:30But I definitely I agree, I think it's worth your time, and I'm really glad that
- 21:34I did end up watching it and that I had somebody that was like, no, it's good.
- 21:38No, you should actually watch the movie.
- 21:40I think that part of it too, that I didn't expect it to be.
- 21:44It did have heart. It was very charming.
- 21:47It has really two like a great musical moment
- 21:51that also I wasn't expecting, even though I know he is.
- 21:56Andrew birth felt like he is a Broadway guy.
- 21:59He has played like Evan Hansen before, like he,
- 22:02you know, like I know that he's okay.
- 22:04Well, that explains it. I was like, I had I.
- 22:07Had Jennifer Lawrence reaction where I was like, Holy.
- 22:09Hell yeah. And that you wouldn't if you don't know that to like.
- 22:12And it just he also just as a physically as a person he's not like imposing
- 22:17in that way where you would think and the choice of song to.
- 22:20Yes I think it's man eater. Right.
- 22:22And it's the way that he does it too.
- 22:24But it is such a wonderful moment in the movie,
- 22:27and you really are there with her where you're like, oh, okay.
- 22:30And you like see him in a new way.
- 22:32And it's also just like it's very emotional and very strong.
- 22:37And that in that scene two comes through really well.
- 22:40What you were saying before too, where he's so genuine
- 22:43about it, like he really wants to.
- 22:47I'm thinking now that term caught you watch the corner like he's
- 22:52he's really trying to get to know her and like show her a nice time.
- 22:55And like when he's singing,
- 22:57it's like you could feel the passion and the emotion and what he's saying.
- 23:01And you can see to that, like in that scene that she changes.
- 23:04Like there's a clear shift in how she's like viewing him.
- 23:08But even that too, again, like,
- 23:09I knew he was a singer, but I didn't think that was going to happen in this movie.
- 23:13You know, like they're going to have that moment.
- 23:16And it wasn't
- 23:18it didn't feel out of place to me where there are other movies sometimes where
- 23:22all of a sudden I'm like, I don't know why we're singing all of a sudden.
- 23:25But it worked.
- 23:26It worked for me really well in this movie. For sure.
- 23:29But yeah, so I have to thank you because you're the one who told me.
- 23:32Yeah, no, it's good.
- 23:34Like, yeah, I like this because otherwise I,
- 23:36I mean, eventually I was gonna watch it, like I was going to get the I, you know, I
- 23:41hit moments where I'm like, I just need a comedy and I need something
- 23:44that just feel good, like straight, feel good, and, you know.
- 23:48Yeah.
- 23:48I was growing up in the age of the rom com.
- 23:51I would say we kind of grew up in the golden age of rom com.
- 23:54I miss them, I do miss them, even though I wouldn't say
- 23:57this is romantic per se, but under the guise of a romantic comedy.
- 24:01And yeah, I just I just miss those, those kinds of movies.
- 24:04So I guess I'm a sucker for them, which I'm
- 24:06I always eventually end up watching them.
- 24:08But I'm glad that this wasn't like, this is only three years later.
- 24:12I didn't I didn't have to wait ten years to
- 24:14because I don't think I would ever have watched it.
- 24:16Then, you know,
- 24:16when you hit a certain point in time,
- 24:17it's like either it's a classic or it's forgotten or it's a cult classic,
- 24:21but I don't know if this one's going to fall into any of them.
- 24:24And maybe that's why I felt the need to talk about it,
- 24:26because I'm like, I don't want it to be forgotten.
- 24:28I don't, I like I think that this is a great, great movie,
- 24:33and I think this is a great performance by Jennifer Lawrence.
- 24:36Like, I she gets knocked a lot
- 24:39just because of her popularity
- 24:42and then her not popularity or whatever.
- 24:45But like the fact of the matter is, like
- 24:48this woman has had act and really well, and she can handle comedy
- 24:52and she can handle a dramatic moment
- 24:55so fluidly she can, you know,
- 24:58I think that's a part of what works really well, well, for this movie,
- 25:02because I think even how she handles, you know, the change of her
- 25:05being a mess to a crap, like I'm trying to seduce a 19 year old and like you can,
- 25:10you can see on the expressions on her face that she's like, oh, this isn't right.
- 25:14I don't feel good about this.
- 25:15And so I think that that really helps helps the character.
- 25:19Right.
- 25:19So yeah.
- 25:20Overall solid movie.
- 25:22Yeah. So thanks for listening.
- 25:23And we'll definitely if I catch another movie that I loved,
- 25:29I was surprised about that on streaming that maybe came out a few years ago.
- 25:34I think it's great to bring it to people's attention.
- 25:36So just look out for those.
- 25:38I know we're all, like,
- 25:39trendy all the time that we need to be on the latest and greatest release.
- 25:43And like, that's what matters to algorithms.
- 25:46But I'm hoping that some of these little older film reviews that we do
- 25:51break through keep on listening, and hopefully
- 25:54you watch a few of the movies that we start to talk about,
- 25:57and you're actually like, yeah, that was worth my time.
- 26:00And not like, I hated that.
- 26:02I had one person once that told me that my review of Game Night
- 26:05was too good, that like then she went and watched it and she did not like if.
- 26:09You let.
- 26:10Her as well as I wrote about game night, which I don't agree with, I think
- 26:14game night is brilliant. So I don't agree with that.
- 26:16That reaction.
- 26:17I thought I gave a really good
- 26:19recommendation for a comedy movie as Game Night.
- 26:21You've seen that, right?
- 26:22Solid movie.
- 26:23Yeah. So anyway, I don't know.
- 26:25Apparently I made it out to be like brilliant.
- 26:27And it is so like that.
- 26:29That was a great recommendation.
- 26:31I stand by
- 26:32it and you should watch Game Night if you can.
- 26:35And you have it.
- 26:36And I hope that a lot of people agree with me.
- 26:40Anyway, thanks so much for listening.
- 26:42Thanks, Nicole for joining and we'll see you soon. Bye.
