- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, it is our last break of the day.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's been a good day. Thank you all for listening.
- 0:06Speaker 1: As always. Hey, Steve, we had a call earlier and
- 0:10Speaker 1: it was a caller named Mark. Let's pay replay the call.
- 0:13Speaker 1: He wanted some advice about doing the right thing here
- 0:16Speaker 1: you go.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, man, what's up Steve Man? You know what date? Mark? Man?
- 0:22Speaker 2: You know, how was your calling to? Let you know,
- 0:25Speaker 2: bro that you know I am a thirty seven year
- 0:28Speaker 2: old you know, father and all that mother, you know,
- 0:31Speaker 2: all that good stuff. Man, you feel you man. But
- 0:34Speaker 2: the reason why you know, I was calling because I
- 0:36Speaker 2: just want to ask you, man, like, how do I
- 0:40Speaker 2: stay over the goods that stay down for the good job?
- 0:44Speaker 3: Man?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Because you know, like I try and I try. You know,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm going to do the working day. I'm trying to,
- 0:50Speaker 2: you know, you know, just be a good all around person.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But but it's like that's not get me to the
- 0:56Speaker 2: point where I need to be financially and mentally man,
- 1:00Speaker 2: for real, man, you know, like as soon as I
- 1:02Speaker 2: go do something, you know, something bad or something you
- 1:05Speaker 2: know I don't supposed to be doing, then it felt
- 1:08Speaker 2: like I get right to where you know, well, I
- 1:10Speaker 2: get that closer to where where I need to be. Man.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But you know, I don't want to keep doing it
- 1:15Speaker 2: like that because I know the room and everything, man,
- 1:18Speaker 2: and I don't want to go back to the good
- 1:19Speaker 2: intention day. But I just want to know about how
- 1:21Speaker 2: do I stay down for the good side, man, because
- 1:25Speaker 2: it's just man, it ain't. It ain't working for me, man,
- 1:28Speaker 2: it ain't. Man. I don't know if you probably live
- 1:30Speaker 2: a life out of live because I'm I know you
- 1:32Speaker 2: said you've been through some things, but I but I
- 1:35Speaker 2: you know, I'm out there, man, But you know, just
- 1:38Speaker 2: let me know something. O Gee, please if you get
- 1:40Speaker 2: this man, Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 3: See, like this call really touched me, man, it really did.
- 1:46Speaker 3: So these are my clothes remarks because you know, guys
- 1:50Speaker 3: like that man, thirty seven year old, ain't got no
- 1:52Speaker 3: real positive male role model in their life. Man, I
- 1:56Speaker 3: get it. I get a lot of calls like this man,
- 1:58Speaker 3: from people saying, hey, Steve, can you talk to this guy?
- 2:01Speaker 3: So Mark, I appreciate you reaching out to me man,
- 2:06Speaker 3: showing me that level of respect. So I'm taking this
- 2:08Speaker 3: call really seriously. I tried addressing it early in the show,
- 2:12Speaker 3: but I wanted to take more time with it, he says.
- 2:18Speaker 3: He describes himself as a thirty year old father, a
- 2:23Speaker 3: thirty seven year old father, you know, and all that
- 2:27Speaker 3: good stuff, and he trying to stay down, but he
- 2:32Speaker 3: having a hard time. How do you stay down for
- 2:37Speaker 3: the good side was his exact quote. How do you
- 2:40Speaker 3: stay down for the good side? See? Because what happens,
- 2:45Speaker 3: Mark is temptation is in everybody's life. There's not a
- 2:49Speaker 3: single person that survives temptation. The only person ever been
- 2:55Speaker 3: on the face of this earth that survived temptation holy
- 3:00Speaker 3: was Jesus Christ. There was none before or after him.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Period.
- 3:05Speaker 3: That's it. So you have to understand, man, that this
- 3:09Speaker 3: is a part of the life. Because you have positive
- 3:13Speaker 3: and negative, you have good and evil. You got God
- 3:16Speaker 3: on one shoulder talking in your ear. You got the
- 3:18Speaker 3: devil on the other side talking in your ear. And
- 3:22Speaker 3: the devil's job is to rob you of your destiny.
- 3:27Speaker 3: God wants you to do the right thing, and you
- 3:30Speaker 3: say you because you said you want to try to
- 3:33Speaker 3: do the right thing, because you want to be a
- 3:34Speaker 3: good man and all that. How do you stay down
- 3:38Speaker 3: when it seems so easy to revert back to what
- 3:42Speaker 3: you can do, Like if you go do something wrong,
- 3:44Speaker 3: it seems to get you the quicker than doing the
- 3:47Speaker 3: right thing. Okay, so that's the difference between slanging and
- 3:51Speaker 3: working the job. Now, I got slang in this fast money.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But everything come with consequences. And that's what the devil
- 4:00Speaker 3: don't want to tell you all he all up and
- 4:02Speaker 3: you see, the devil's job is to rob you of
- 4:04Speaker 3: your destiny. So why you slinging man? Look how we
- 4:07Speaker 3: got that quick money. But remind yourself of what you
- 4:11Speaker 3: already know. You said you don't want to go back
- 4:14Speaker 3: to the penitentiary, but the devil want you back in
- 4:17Speaker 3: the penitentiary. A lot of stuff happened like that man
- 4:22Speaker 3: to rob you of your destiny. Your destiny right now,
- 4:25Speaker 3: Mark is to be a good father. So right now,
- 4:28Speaker 3: what I'm going to suggest to you is you need
- 4:31Speaker 3: to find the right form of motivation. See what keeps
- 4:36Speaker 3: me straight, Mark, is because i'dne made it more than me.
- 4:40Speaker 3: What keep Tommy straight is Tommy that made it more
- 4:43Speaker 3: than him. What keeps Junior straight is he hadn't made
- 4:47Speaker 3: it about more than him. See, if it's about me,
- 4:50Speaker 3: I'd have done a lot of stuff sideways. If it
- 4:54Speaker 3: was just about me. But it ain't bout me no more,
- 4:58Speaker 3: your father, Mark, You got some people counting on you,
- 5:03Speaker 3: depending on you. I recently spoke at a penitentiary in
- 5:08Speaker 3: Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. These men in there were heartbroken because
- 5:14Speaker 3: they can't be the father to their child that they
- 5:17Speaker 3: know they child need. And a lot of them said,
- 5:20Speaker 3: the reason I'm here today was because I didn't have
- 5:22Speaker 3: no father in my life helping me with some of
- 5:24Speaker 3: these decisions. You got to look at your new motivation, Mark,
- 5:29Speaker 3: It ain't about just you if you go back to prison.
- 5:34Speaker 3: What happens to your child, what happens to your family,
- 5:38Speaker 3: What you put your mother through, your grandmother through, What
- 5:41Speaker 3: you gonna send that child through? When when on school day,
- 5:45Speaker 3: Daddy's day or daddy daughter dadd's what they don't get
- 5:49Speaker 3: to take theirs because you locked up. If most of
- 5:54Speaker 3: these men that's locked up today had the right had
- 5:56Speaker 3: to had the right motivation, a lot of them would
- 6:00Speaker 3: be locked up today. Ask God to keep showing you
- 6:04Speaker 3: the way. Ask God to strengthen you. Keep working that job.
- 6:08Speaker 3: It's hard to work a job, man, yeah it is,
- 6:11Speaker 3: but it's way harder to go to prison. I'd rather
- 6:15Speaker 3: have a job at a drive through window. To be
- 6:19Speaker 3: standing there looking out a window that's six inches high.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Come on, man, stay the course. Mark, talk to God.
- 6:27Speaker 3: He would love to hear from you today. Talk to
- 6:29Speaker 3: God like you sent that message in to meet God.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Help me hanging that dog. Please don't go back, y'all
- 6:37Speaker 3: have a great day today. Talk to God today. He
- 6:39Speaker 3: would absolutely love.
