- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, we're gonna do a show without Daniel.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Daniel is not with us today. People. Yes, ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:06Speaker 1: welcome to the program. We are Daniel less, which is different. Yeah,
- 0:11Speaker 1: how do we feel about it thus far? That's far? Hi,
- 0:14Speaker 1: Joel hid Joel, Joel got a mask on. Some of
- 0:17Speaker 1: y'all don't notice. None of you know this actually because
- 0:20Speaker 1: you can't see us. Joel has a mask on because
- 0:22Speaker 1: sums up with her Internet. Yeah, and she also has
- 0:25Speaker 1: a furrowed brow. She has a very stressed, furrowed brow
- 0:28Speaker 1: face today, Joel. When I logged into the when I
- 0:31Speaker 1: logged into the zoom, Joel looked at me and said, oh,
- 0:34Speaker 1: what a day. Yeah, Joel's having a moment. And it
- 0:37Speaker 1: all seems to me. Joel. Correct me if I'm wrong.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's it stems from having Internet problems that are stressing
- 0:43Speaker 1: you out. Sorry, Dan, I'm not being here is very
- 0:46Speaker 1: stressful because you're doing a great job so far. Thank you.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I really appreciate that vote of comorn. Give her some affirmation, Joel.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You'reel telling it so far, Joel, You're crushing it. Everybody's
- 0:58Speaker 1: talking about it, Zach's talking about it. Acts talking about
- 1:00Speaker 1: how you're doing. Yeah, you're doing great. You know, we
- 1:03Speaker 1: just had a should we tell them the very exciting
- 1:06Speaker 1: meeting we just had. Should we should we? Should we
- 1:07Speaker 1: talk about it? Yeah? Sure, let's get it out there.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We're talking about some exciting stuff about bringing a live
- 1:15Speaker 1: version of the show to your phone, to your laptop,
- 1:20Speaker 1: to your Howl TV, to your home. Because we can't tour,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we thought, well, why don't we virtually tour and we'll
- 1:30Speaker 1: do a live show with video and you can see
- 1:34Speaker 1: Donald in his closet, you can see me in my office.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You can also interact with all of us too. You
- 1:42Speaker 1: can interact with Joel, You can interact with Danel. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 1: it's like rott. You can write comments, we can do
- 1:48Speaker 1: like quizzes. We can do. We want you to tell
- 1:51Speaker 1: us what you want us to do, So tell us.
- 1:54Speaker 1: We're trying to we're trying to put the plan together,
- 1:56Speaker 1: like what would you guys want from a live show
- 1:59Speaker 1: experience because we want to cater it to wa throwing
- 2:03Speaker 1: a suggestion. Yeah, okay, So they sent me one of
- 2:07Speaker 1: these to watch to see, like, what is it like
- 2:08Speaker 1: behind the scenes? I want to producer did anything And
- 2:10Speaker 1: it's really effing cool to like watch the fans get
- 2:13Speaker 1: to interacted directly, and like, like, I know a lot
- 2:16Speaker 1: of you guys talk about how you talk to us
- 2:18Speaker 1: while you're doing it, like while you're listening to the pod,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and that's kind of fun, but like, now you're actually
- 2:22Speaker 1: talking to us and creating this conversation. So the one
- 2:24Speaker 1: I watched, they did a drinking game with their fans.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Oh god, I thought was a lot of fun. You know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm getting heart burned already just thinking about it. I'm
- 2:35Speaker 1: getting heartburning all that I want to speak for an
- 2:37Speaker 1: hour and a half with I will probably embarrass myself.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I will say something really bad things a drinking game
- 2:42Speaker 1: to the fans. We don't have to be doing the drink,
- 2:44Speaker 1: we don't have to drink. I love that. I love
- 2:46Speaker 1: that they Probably the fans might get mad at us, though,
- 2:49Speaker 1: like wait, hold up, y'all think y'all too good to do.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Like with somebody's boys, you would drink and you're like,
- 2:54Speaker 1: oh no, I'm not drinking, no, thank you. You ever
- 2:56Speaker 1: noticed how the person kind of gets upset, like wait,
- 2:58Speaker 1: hold on, I just bought you a drink. Drinking you
- 3:02Speaker 1: could be you could be like I don't drink. I don't,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I don't, I don't. I don't drink Boots. I don't
- 3:06Speaker 1: think you shit, you drink that shit. I don't think
- 3:08Speaker 1: you and I should be drinking during the podcast. I
- 3:10Speaker 1: think that's only gonna lead to a less articulate version
- 3:15Speaker 1: of the show. I'm absolutely positive if we drink during
- 3:19Speaker 1: the podcast, there will be some click bait and buzzworthy
- 3:24Speaker 1: news because we can't edit it. We'll be doing you know,
- 3:27Speaker 1: we we we occasionally, as you know from listening, cut
- 3:30Speaker 1: out stuff for him like no, no, no, you can't
- 3:32Speaker 1: say that, or Donald says that to me, or we
- 3:35Speaker 1: just go I don't like the way that sounds. Now
- 3:37Speaker 1: the live show, you'll be getting us raw uncut, just
- 3:42Speaker 1: like Donald UNCUTT Yeah, raw and uncut, just like I
- 3:45Speaker 1: just like me. That's what my wife. That's how my
- 3:48Speaker 1: wife be getting it raw and uncut. You guys, you're
- 3:53Speaker 1: gonna get it just like Casey Cobb gets it raw
- 3:56Speaker 1: and uncut and GIRTHI oh, tell us, tell us tell
- 4:06Speaker 1: me and Donald and Joel on our on our social media.
- 4:10Speaker 1: How you what you want it? What you want to hear? Like?
- 4:13Speaker 1: What would make you join? Oh man? Right? I think
- 4:18Speaker 1: we sold it already. It's already raw and uncut, so
- 4:22Speaker 1: let's know. But I just want they can hit us
- 4:24Speaker 1: up on our socials. Hit up, Joel, hit us up,
- 4:28Speaker 1: hit us up. I'm on, I'm on my Twitter break,
- 4:30Speaker 1: So hit me up on Instagram and let me know.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Let Donald know, let Joell know, let Daniel know. What
- 4:37Speaker 1: would you want from a live show? Like what would
- 4:39Speaker 1: be cool? And we'll do it. Yeah, think about the
- 4:42Speaker 1: caller that gets to come on that live show. That's
- 4:44Speaker 1: gonna be Joel, You'll have to really get a good one.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Maybe we take more than one caller. Yeah, maybe we
- 4:49Speaker 1: have a special guest. Maybe I don't know. Maybe this
- 4:52Speaker 1: is what you know. Maybe I don't know that. What
- 4:54Speaker 1: if you do an hour and a half two hours show,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I think one caller is plenty of time, do you
- 4:59Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like I I feel like a
- 5:00Speaker 1: special guest like related to the show, like one of
- 5:03Speaker 1: the actors, or that would be different, like if you
- 5:05Speaker 1: have Scott Foley or somebody come on. But but the
- 5:08Speaker 1: caller thing, I think one is good. But I don't know.
- 5:10Speaker 1: We can debate. They'll see. Let's see what the let's
- 5:12Speaker 1: see what the fans thing. We want you guys to
- 5:15Speaker 1: feel like this is your show. Yeah, you design it,
- 5:18Speaker 1: You design it, so tell us what you want, Joel.
- 5:21Speaker 1: What else was good with the with the pilot example,
- 5:24Speaker 1: they showed you that people did. Yeah. What I really
- 5:27Speaker 1: liked was the girls were unfiltered. I apologize you hear
- 5:32Speaker 1: my puppy yelping in the back wrap to apologize for
- 5:34Speaker 1: a puppy, Joel. So yeah, so the girls are like
- 5:38Speaker 1: very unfiltered and like Cannon, I'm oh my gosh. The
- 5:41Speaker 1: best part was the fans through an after party. So
- 5:43Speaker 1: when it was done and the girls hopped off, all
- 5:45Speaker 1: the fans went to a new Zoom call to continue
- 5:48Speaker 1: and meet up and connect and I was like, wow,
- 5:50Speaker 1: what a great opportunity for like community building and connecting.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And they were all pretty buzzed the chat with any indication.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I wonder how many people would join, Like if we
- 6:00Speaker 1: do this right, and you do it globally, like everyone's
- 6:04Speaker 1: invited now obviously if we do it here in North America,
- 6:07Speaker 1: we'll be doing it probably six in La nine on
- 6:09Speaker 1: the East coast. So some people who are asleep, if
- 6:14Speaker 1: they don't choose to stay up, I don't know why
- 6:16Speaker 1: you wouldn't, but they they'll be able to watch it
- 6:18Speaker 1: like delayed in the morning, right the next day. I believe.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But but, but but I wonder how many of you
- 6:23Speaker 1: would actually watch it live. It would be fascinating to
- 6:26Speaker 1: think about how many people would be there. I want
- 6:27Speaker 1: to records. Shoot, we don't want to set it. We
- 6:31Speaker 1: don't want to set our We don't want to set
- 6:34Speaker 1: our bar too high in our heads. But what's the
- 6:39Speaker 1: in in London? What's the name of that spot? You're
- 6:44Speaker 1: gonna have to be more specific. The big stadium. Remember
- 6:47Speaker 1: we sat we two the two stadium. Yeah, I talk him.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We was gonna play O two man, let's play let's
- 6:54Speaker 1: go for two. Let's go for that O two. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: don't know. I mean my guess is we would be
- 6:59Speaker 1: like maybe five thousand people. Joel, what do you think? Yeah,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I think that sounds about right now. First one's guests,
- 7:07Speaker 1: five people, five thousand, five people. I think that five
- 7:14Speaker 1: thousand is the first is the number that comes to
- 7:17Speaker 1: my head. That's realistic. I don't know that. I don't
- 7:20Speaker 1: know it's safe to me, but I think I think
- 7:23Speaker 1: we can do at least five. I'll say that we'll
- 7:25Speaker 1: aim we'll aim for five thousand of you to tune in,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and we should do We're gonna have to do things
- 7:30Speaker 1: that are special, though, Donald, We're gonna but I don't
- 7:33Speaker 1: want to change our venue. I think the fans are
- 7:35Speaker 1: gonna want to see you in your closet with your
- 7:36Speaker 1: wife's clothes behind you, Me in my office, Joel, with
- 7:40Speaker 1: her pup, her adorable puppy, yapping. We don't want to
- 7:43Speaker 1: We don't want to change anything. They're gonna want to
- 7:46Speaker 1: see Daniel by his you know, work bench. Well, they'll
- 7:49Speaker 1: notice that Daniel is in four K whereas we are
- 7:52Speaker 1: not because Dane has his fancy webcam. Right, although maybe
- 7:56Speaker 1: we should get fancy webcam. We should step it up
- 7:59Speaker 1: and not we should step it out, Joel. Don't you
- 8:01Speaker 1: think if we're gonna broadcast this to the earth, we
- 8:04Speaker 1: might want to do it better than we can? About that? Yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 1: I mean I already have the I already have the rig, Donald,
- 8:12Speaker 1: But we could just get you one. I'm gonna put
- 8:14Speaker 1: on a suit. Yes, maybe we could watch you. We
- 8:18Speaker 1: could watch you get dressed in your own closet. No
- 8:21Speaker 1: no, no no, no, no no no, will you show? Will
- 8:23Speaker 1: you show? Ariola? I gotta show him something, right, we
- 8:27Speaker 1: should do incentives like if six thousand people join, you
- 8:30Speaker 1: will see melted Hershe's kisses. Oh yeah, I want to
- 8:36Speaker 1: turn this into a own fans. Yeah, it's only fans.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But no, Joel, not like bad in fans like wayte
- 8:42Speaker 1: uff only fans. No, no, no, I'll show We could
- 8:45Speaker 1: play we could play. No, we can't play shafter for
- 8:49Speaker 1: ten If ten thousand people tune in, we could play shafterballs. No,
- 8:53Speaker 1: We're not gonna play shafter ball. Just ask you. You
- 8:57Speaker 1: know you will show her she's this is nipples. If
- 9:01Speaker 1: ten thousand people tune and, I will show her they's
- 9:04Speaker 1: kiss his nipples. Is that what you're telling me? Yes?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Are you all? Well? I'm just saying, you know, we're
- 9:10Speaker 1: saying here like, let's see what the people want. And
- 9:12Speaker 1: I can't help but answer. What would I want? Should
- 9:18Speaker 1: we talk about your friend on on Mandalorian getting the acts?
- 9:24Speaker 1: First of all, what how dare you what? I don't
- 9:30Speaker 1: know this woman, Like, I'm just saying, I'm just saying,
- 9:34Speaker 1: it's your favorite show in the world. It's a very
- 9:38Speaker 1: current event. Uh. That in jand Division got me on
- 9:42Speaker 1: lock right now, I'm gonna keep you on it. Division,
- 9:46Speaker 1: but I but I am caught up. Other than the
- 9:48Speaker 1: most current episode. It's really it's such a good show.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It's really really well made, and it's such a clever concept.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And uh, I don't know anything about these two characters.
- 9:58Speaker 1: They they're they're a couple in the Marvel universe outside
- 10:02Speaker 1: of the show. Uh yeah, there are also two of
- 10:06Speaker 1: the more powerful Avengers too, So it's like, that's what's
- 10:11Speaker 1: really cool about it is that they have two of
- 10:13Speaker 1: the most powerful characters in the Avengers pretty much living
- 10:18Speaker 1: simple lives. That's so cool, dude, when you really think
- 10:22Speaker 1: about it, like trying to trying to live a simple life.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And she's a witch. Yeah, she's more than that. She's
- 10:29Speaker 1: more than that. She's she's well she in the comics.
- 10:34Speaker 1: She's a mutant. She her and her brother are both
- 10:36Speaker 1: at the Charles Xavier School and everything like that. But anyway,
- 10:41Speaker 1: it's very well done. And I don't know, do you
- 10:44Speaker 1: not want to talk about what's her name? No, we
- 10:46Speaker 1: could talk about it. Good Karin, never come back too long.
- 10:51Speaker 1: We don't like you. You You were an awful person. Oh
- 10:56Speaker 1: I'm glad she's gone. I have to say, uh, you know,
- 11:01Speaker 1: The only thing I'll say about it. I'm not on Twitter,
- 11:03Speaker 1: so I didn't see it right now, so I didn't
- 11:04Speaker 1: see any of the controversy. But I read about it. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I read it, and I just think for the most part,
- 11:11Speaker 1: a good rule is to not use Nazis and Jews
- 11:16Speaker 1: in any analogies. If you if I can give you
- 11:20Speaker 1: one steadfast social media rule, stay away from the Holocaust
- 11:24Speaker 1: as a as a means of making a political point.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I agree with simple steadfast. That's like and that's like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: that's like, don't go blackface. Yeah yeah, yeah, don't go
- 11:40Speaker 1: black faced on Halloween. And don't say just like the
- 11:43Speaker 1: Jews and the Holocaust. People don't really like that. And
- 11:46Speaker 1: the other thing I'll say is the people that get
- 11:47Speaker 1: all mad about, you know, Disney canceling or is is
- 11:53Speaker 1: that you know, you don't you can say whatever you
- 11:56Speaker 1: want on Earth. You just you can't say whatever you
- 11:59Speaker 1: want and be a the employee. You can't say, right,
- 12:01Speaker 1: you can't say whatever you want at your job. That's
- 12:03Speaker 1: bull crap. That's you can't say whatever you want. To Listen,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I know this firsthand. I'm gonna tell and and and
- 12:10Speaker 1: and and I think every everybody will learn this lesson eventually.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Your opinions are your opinions, yes, but in the workspace,
- 12:20Speaker 1: your opinions will affect other people, and your opinion if
- 12:26Speaker 1: it affects people the wrong way, we'll get you fired.
- 12:28Speaker 1: That's just how it goes. Yeah, and you'll listen. You
- 12:31Speaker 1: can have whatever opinion you want. And yes, you have
- 12:33Speaker 1: free speech as a human being. But your employer can say,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I don't fucking like you making a Holocaust t anology.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Look at that puppy. Oh my goodness, So look at
- 12:47Speaker 1: those puppy kisses. You're getting cute anyway, So you know.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Also social media, you know, be careful what you say.
- 12:59Speaker 1: There's a book I had called so you've been publicly shamed,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and I recommend that it's really interesting, and it's it's
- 13:05Speaker 1: all about these people who you know, they they did
- 13:08Speaker 1: one stupid tweet or one stupid thing. You know, we
- 13:11Speaker 1: all fucking do shit we regret, of course, it's part
- 13:14Speaker 1: of being human. And and and and the story chronicles how
- 13:19Speaker 1: people's lives were totally dismantled and changed and affected by
- 13:25Speaker 1: the one fucking thing they did in a split second.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And it often focuses on social media. This book well,
- 13:32Speaker 1: that's where that's where we all wind up getting in trouble.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I find I find us on social media. Yeah, you
- 13:38Speaker 1: don't know, you're pretty well, you're not on Twitter really anymore.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And you and you and you're pretty conservative in terms
- 13:44Speaker 1: of but there's anything outlandish on your ship. I've posted
- 13:48Speaker 1: things a couple of times and have taken it down
- 13:50Speaker 1: because of the way fans interacted in the comments section.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Like the last thing I want to ever do. You know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: First of all, if I feel something is right, I'm
- 14:02Speaker 1: gonna speak my mind. That's just how it is social media.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that. But the last thing I want
- 14:11Speaker 1: is to cause divisiveness and cause uh, you know, a fight.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And so when I see things on social media and
- 14:20Speaker 1: people are going at each other like I, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 1: with the hatred and saying the evil things to each other,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I tend to be like, all right, maybe this wasn't
- 14:28Speaker 1: the post that, this wasn't what I meant to. I
- 14:31Speaker 1: didn't mean for that when I posted this, So I
- 14:33Speaker 1: might take that down, you know what I mean, if
- 14:35Speaker 1: it's thought But I want to I want to. I
- 14:37Speaker 1: definitely want to post things that are thought provoking, Like
- 14:41Speaker 1: me swinging a golf club. No, you're pretty tame. You know.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I got very into politics on Twitter. I get really
- 14:49Speaker 1: rallied up by it. But you know, I don't know
- 14:52Speaker 1: for better or for worse. I felt like a speaking
- 14:54Speaker 1: my mind. Should we count in on? We haven't even
- 14:57Speaker 1: counted in you about? We made about data around here
- 15:15Speaker 1: a yata around Welcome everybody, episode dude, I thought this
- 15:27Speaker 1: was your episode. I got so nervous. Episode four oh six.
- 15:31Speaker 1: This is where this This was a very interesting episode
- 15:34Speaker 1: because John Ridder was supposed to come back for this episode.
- 15:37Speaker 1: That's right, everybody, this is the episode that John Ridder
- 15:40Speaker 1: was supposed to come on. We It aired October twelfth,
- 15:44Speaker 1: two thousand and four. Scrubs. Wicky doesn't say when it
- 15:48Speaker 1: was shot, but you can know when it was shot
- 15:51Speaker 1: because it John Ritter died the weekend before he was
- 15:55Speaker 1: supposed to come back, and the writers had to scrambled
- 16:00Speaker 1: two rewrite the episode for Tom Kavanaugh, Right, Donald, Yeah, absolutely,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I don't know what were you this is? I want
- 16:12Speaker 1: you know that I have goose bumps all over my
- 16:13Speaker 1: body right now, just to tell you how I still
- 16:17Speaker 1: have a visceral reaction to John Ridder's death. It was
- 16:19Speaker 1: so upsetting and so shocking, and we had we were
- 16:24Speaker 1: so thrilled because, you know, Donald and I grew up
- 16:27Speaker 1: on Three's Company. We grew up loving this guy, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: so did Bill and so did a lot of the writers.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And he came on our show to play my dad
- 16:34Speaker 1: and it was so thrilling, and I was just so
- 16:37Speaker 1: star struck by him. And then he fucking died out
- 16:41Speaker 1: of the blue with a with a with something that
- 16:44Speaker 1: couldn't even It's like a Scrubs episode, something you couldn't
- 16:46Speaker 1: even scanned for. Yeah, I remember, I I I remember
- 16:54Speaker 1: being like, how are I gotta pull this off? How?
- 16:56Speaker 1: What do we we gotta? What do we do? How
- 16:58Speaker 1: do you? How do we do this? How do you?
- 17:00Speaker 1: You know what I mean? And then I remember thinking
- 17:01Speaker 1: about his kids, you know what I mean, and the
- 17:04Speaker 1: people that were working with him at the time, Like,
- 17:08Speaker 1: you know, it was just so sudden and U and
- 17:14Speaker 1: I feel like we honored him well you know, uh
- 17:18Speaker 1: in in this episode. It really does show. I mean,
- 17:23Speaker 1: this was this is one of those episodes where after
- 17:25Speaker 1: watching it, I was kind of I was a little
- 17:27Speaker 1: depressed after the episode, maybe because of the content and
- 17:31Speaker 1: what was going on. It didn't feel. You know, getting
- 17:35Speaker 1: over lost is is is is very difficult, and uh,
- 17:41Speaker 1: you're lucky if you have your friends around you to
- 17:43Speaker 1: support you and stuff. And at the end of this,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you know, JD has his brother and Cox, but for
- 17:50Speaker 1: some reason, I don't know why, it just didn't feel.
- 17:54Speaker 1: That didn't feel. And you know, Cox having to give
- 17:57Speaker 1: Dan the the speech to get his act together so
- 18:02Speaker 1: he could be there for his brother and everything like that,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and then at the end, then watching uh TV with
- 18:09Speaker 1: with red winged shirts on and drinking beer and finally
- 18:13Speaker 1: JD gets the opportunity to talk and you know, remember
- 18:17Speaker 1: his father. I felt like at that moment it needed
- 18:21Speaker 1: to be more than that. It just, you know, I
- 18:23Speaker 1: felt like the song is I can't do this all
- 18:25Speaker 1: on my own. At that point, it felt like JD
- 18:28Speaker 1: needed to be surrounded by just more than just Cox.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And did you feel are you are you tiptoeing around
- 18:32Speaker 1: the fact that you think that Turks should have been there?
- 18:34Speaker 1: I think Turks should have been there. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And I wonder why. I wonder why Turk wasn't there.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. I think because he has
- 18:42Speaker 1: diabetes I don't know diabetes prevented him from being in.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. This is a no
- 18:49Speaker 1: diabetes people grief for him. You cannot come in. You
- 18:53Speaker 1: have diabetes? Are you grieving? Yes? Diabetes? Sorry, no, not allowed.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I gotta tell you a little story. Bill and I
- 19:02Speaker 1: went to John Ridder's memorial service. They had, I believe
- 19:07Speaker 1: they had a private funeral for the immediate family, and
- 19:09Speaker 1: then because there were so many John was very beloved
- 19:13Speaker 1: in this community. I mean, people just love him, and
- 19:16Speaker 1: so they they had to fill a giant theater for
- 19:20Speaker 1: the memorial and Bill and I went and it was
- 19:24Speaker 1: in a huge space, and Billy Bob Thornton spoke because
- 19:31Speaker 1: he was very close with John and they had done
- 19:34Speaker 1: sling Blade together. I don't know if you remember Billy
- 19:36Speaker 1: Billy Bob. Billybob's first movie, of course was sling Blade,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and then John Ridder was in it and he was
- 19:41Speaker 1: playing so against type and so different and it was
- 19:43Speaker 1: like it was really cool moment for him, I'm sure
- 19:45Speaker 1: in his career because people were like, holy shit, look
- 19:47Speaker 1: at John Ritter in this little indie like totally bringing
- 19:50Speaker 1: it in a new, different way. And anyway, So the
- 19:55Speaker 1: ceremony goes on and people speak, and it's very emotional
- 19:58Speaker 1: and as as as you'd imagine, and at a certain point,
- 20:03Speaker 1: his wife or someone I forgot who it was, got
- 20:06Speaker 1: up and said, look, as you all know, John loved USC,
- 20:12Speaker 1: and he loved USC football more than anything, and he
- 20:17Speaker 1: also wouldn't want this to be too maudlin. He would
- 20:22Speaker 1: want it to be more of a celebration. So without
- 20:25Speaker 1: further ado, the USC marching band, and the entire USC
- 20:31Speaker 1: marching band comes blasting down all of the aisles loud, loud, loud,
- 20:38Speaker 1: like screaming to the heavens, and it was so emotional
- 20:42Speaker 1: and so moving. And then as people filed out, they
- 20:47Speaker 1: created a tunnel and you walked through, I mean, horn
- 20:50Speaker 1: players and drummers playing at full volume, and it was
- 20:54Speaker 1: just I was so fucking moving. It was the most
- 20:57Speaker 1: moving thing that I've ever seen. It a fewer and
- 21:02Speaker 1: I actually tried to put a version of it in
- 21:05Speaker 1: my film, which I was here and we shot it.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I ended up cutting it because it felt like it's
- 21:10Speaker 1: weird that it happened in real life, But when I
- 21:12Speaker 1: shot it and put it into a movie, it felt
- 21:14Speaker 1: too surreal and like women that ever happen. But I'm
- 21:17Speaker 1: telling you this really beautiful, surreal moment happened, and we
- 21:22Speaker 1: do like there's something like that in the next season
- 21:24Speaker 1: of Scrubs. Also, when Carla is about to deliver the baby,
- 21:28Speaker 1: Turk has the I believe we got the USC Marching
- 21:32Speaker 1: band to come and play drums. If we did, it's
- 21:35Speaker 1: because Bill and I were both in That's funny, actually
- 21:37Speaker 1: you say that, because it shows that both Bill and
- 21:39Speaker 1: I were like, this is so incredible. I'm swiping away
- 21:42Speaker 1: the tears and I'm totally gonna put this in something
- 21:44Speaker 1: one day. Remember we go through the drive through with
- 21:48Speaker 1: the band and everything like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I do remember that. I'll tell you one thing I
- 21:53Speaker 1: don't remember. I want to ask, what's that I have
- 21:56Speaker 1: no recollection of going into full kabuki Japanese makeup. I didn't,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and I just said a pick. I took it still
- 22:02Speaker 1: from this episode and I sent it to my brother
- 22:04Speaker 1: because you know, like you, he enjoys God's lettuce and
- 22:08Speaker 1: I thought he's gonna laugh at this, and he was
- 22:10Speaker 1: cracking up and he said, you have no memory of
- 22:13Speaker 1: doing that. He goes, how could you not remember? Dressing
- 22:16Speaker 1: like that. I it was. It was when I was
- 22:19Speaker 1: at seventeen years ago. You know, it all blends together
- 22:22Speaker 1: a little bit. I have no memory of either a
- 22:24Speaker 1: all that makeup that costume or doing that or doing
- 22:27Speaker 1: the actual I literally had a moment where I was like, well,
- 22:30Speaker 1: it must be me, right, I mean, who else is
- 22:32Speaker 1: doing that? But I have no memory of it. We're
- 22:38Speaker 1: not going to do it a recap today. I didn't
- 22:41Speaker 1: put it together. Man, I'm freaking my kids got out
- 22:44Speaker 1: of school early. I can do a quick like no, no,
- 22:47Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, dude, I gotta tell you. And
- 22:49Speaker 1: this is from the bottom of my heart. I'm not
- 22:50Speaker 1: just saying this. People love when you fucking took this
- 22:55Speaker 1: to the next level and all of a sudden we
- 22:57Speaker 1: got Dane. I'm gonna talk to you about Danel for
- 22:58Speaker 1: a second because he isn't here, but you gotta understand.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But you gotta understand where he's coming from and what
- 23:04Speaker 1: he let me explain to the audience on our group chat.
- 23:06Speaker 1: We have a group chat now because Joel. Finally, I'm
- 23:09Speaker 1: watching my girlfriend jog in our yard and she's so cute.
- 23:13Speaker 1: All right, I'm back what Yeah, I'm still on the stage.
- 23:21Speaker 1: It's forever. Like my wife, I'm in the closet and
- 23:24Speaker 1: the showers right there, and sometimes she'll take a shower
- 23:26Speaker 1: while I'm recording and I'll just be sitting there like
- 23:29Speaker 1: I'll be like, oh, she's showering. Oh that's good. And
- 23:32Speaker 1: you guys are gonna go a long time. So Daniel,
- 23:35Speaker 1: we had a group chat. We have a group chat
- 23:36Speaker 1: now because Joel got an iPhone and the text hone
- 23:38Speaker 1: go green. So we're finally all in a group chat,
- 23:41Speaker 1: and and we're talking all about how fucking awesome Donald's
- 23:45Speaker 1: raps are. And my all my Instagram is all about
- 23:48Speaker 1: Donald's fucking raps and Daniel's beat, and I'm like, oh
- 23:52Speaker 1: my god, you guys really gotta start. You brought it,
- 23:53Speaker 1: you gotta. Daniel's like, I can't do that every week
- 23:55Speaker 1: the beats take too much time, or every episode of
- 23:57Speaker 1: the baste too much time. I'm like, well, just lay
- 23:59Speaker 1: down the track. Then He's like, no, I have to
- 24:02Speaker 1: like tweak it and do it and fix it. It's
- 24:05Speaker 1: because I don't ride, I don't wrap the same I
- 24:07Speaker 1: don't wrap the same way every time. It's too What
- 24:09Speaker 1: if you had a click track so you kept in rhythm.
- 24:13Speaker 1: But that's not what the problem is. It's that he
- 24:15Speaker 1: would still have to switch the beat. You want the
- 24:17Speaker 1: person to ride the beat, you know what I mean.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You want the beat to be this. And so what
- 24:23Speaker 1: he did is he took what I did and then
- 24:25Speaker 1: made it so that I'm on the beat and it's
- 24:28Speaker 1: like a wave you want to ride the way, all right.
- 24:30Speaker 1: What Daniel's saying is it's too much work to do
- 24:32Speaker 1: it every episode for him, it's a lot of it's
- 24:36Speaker 1: a lot of tracks. And then he'd be throwing away
- 24:38Speaker 1: tracks on me a hack rapper, you know what I mean.
- 24:40Speaker 1: So it's like, well, I mean, I mean, all right,
- 24:43Speaker 1: let's look at the Devil's Advocate version. All right, I'm Daniel,
- 24:45Speaker 1: I'm a DJ. I fucking love making beats. Why not
- 24:49Speaker 1: have why not blast to the world my Daniel beats?
- 24:54Speaker 1: It would have been funny, if you see, this is
- 24:56Speaker 1: what the problem. It would have been funny. It would
- 24:58Speaker 1: have been if Danil would have just did something simple
- 25:01Speaker 1: like oh, you want me to do a beat, and
- 25:02Speaker 1: just said boom, boom batom, nothing and then just doing
- 25:08Speaker 1: did a little little little bit. If that's all he did,
- 25:11Speaker 1: If he went straight up rizzle on it. He could
- 25:12Speaker 1: go rizzle on. Rizza got some of the dope st Beetzaba.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Oh man, we gotta keep it one hundred though. Man.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But the Rizza had the same cadence of his drugs.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Boom boom, bat boom whatever. I forget what it was.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I forget what the what the cadence was. But the
- 25:26Speaker 1: Rizza had the same cadience on every song pretty much
- 25:29Speaker 1: with his drums, So I guess it could work. I
- 25:32Speaker 1: liked your last cadence, that one. What did you say
- 25:34Speaker 1: it was? You said it was Adam's Family esque or something.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That was the first one was Adams. Oh how did
- 25:40Speaker 1: you describe the second one? The second one? I don't know.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know how to describe the
- 25:46Speaker 1: second one. Anyway, it was good, dude. I just think
- 25:49Speaker 1: I'm just thinking I sound like my my stepmother and
- 25:51Speaker 1: my my late father. Whenever I would do anything, they'd
- 25:54Speaker 1: be like, you should do that. I will do all right,
- 25:57Speaker 1: so check this out, like I'd be like, I'd be
- 25:59Speaker 1: like what they like. When I was in when I
- 26:00Speaker 1: was in the Broadway show, The Broadway Musical, they were like,
- 26:03Speaker 1: you should release an album of old standards. I'm not
- 26:07Speaker 1: going to release an albums old. They were like, it's
- 26:10Speaker 1: you're such a good singer. People would love it. And
- 26:14Speaker 1: I feel like my stepmother elained to you. Right now.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm like, Donald, you need to put out a rap album. Oops, listen, Okay,
- 26:23Speaker 1: this is what I'm gonna do. This is nickname. Her
- 26:25Speaker 1: nickname is Poopsie. Everybody, this is what, this is what,
- 26:27Speaker 1: this is what I'll do. I'll promise this for your
- 26:30Speaker 1: episode which is coming up. Yeah, I'll write the rap
- 26:32Speaker 1: for that one. I need all of you audience to
- 26:34Speaker 1: be prepared for the episode we've we've talked about. It's
- 26:37Speaker 1: called My Last Chance. It's four oh eight guest stars
- 26:41Speaker 1: Molly Shannon, Heather Graham. When Molly announces that she's moving
- 26:49Speaker 1: away to pursue another job opportunity, JD sees her leaving
- 26:53Speaker 1: party as his last chance to get close to her
- 26:56Speaker 1: slash have sex. Unfortunately, Elliott isn't so key on the
- 27:00Speaker 1: pair getting together. I ain't remember if Molly and JD
- 27:05Speaker 1: ever got together, and I'm seeing by reading this sheet
- 27:09Speaker 1: that we never do. Yeah, you never do, but you guys,
- 27:13Speaker 1: I know you make fun of me for that episode,
- 27:15Speaker 1: but it's coming up and it's really good. All right,
- 27:17Speaker 1: let's talk about the show. No recap today, guys, we
- 27:20Speaker 1: don't have Daniel and Donald didn't find the I got
- 27:24Speaker 1: a little so I could tell you a little something.
- 27:25Speaker 1: This show was. This show was very It was very
- 27:32Speaker 1: difficult to do a recap one because it touches on
- 27:36Speaker 1: having to give you my emotion of feeling on loss
- 27:40Speaker 1: and it's not something I was prepared for or so
- 27:43Speaker 1: you're really affected by it. Yeah, and it's not that
- 27:46Speaker 1: this is the best episode you could tell that this
- 27:48Speaker 1: would scramble together. I really want to know. I want
- 27:50Speaker 1: to ask Bill, really, to be honest with you, what
- 27:53Speaker 1: was the original episode going to be about? You know, Oh,
- 27:56Speaker 1: that's a good one. Why don't you formally do an
- 27:57Speaker 1: ask Bill? I mean, the guy's dying to be on
- 27:59Speaker 1: the show more we know now? Well? Bill, you know,
- 28:02Speaker 1: I know you. You said you don't want to do
- 28:03Speaker 1: the ask Bill. Maybe you could turn this into the
- 28:06Speaker 1: ask Interrupting Bill segment where I ask you a question
- 28:10Speaker 1: and then you interrupt me because you already know the answer.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And what I'm going to ask you? What was the
- 28:15Speaker 1: original plot to this episode? Hey? Donald? He Zach, I
- 28:19Speaker 1: was just randomly sitting here thinking about how this show
- 28:23Speaker 1: has such great merch and swag and nobody sent me
- 28:27Speaker 1: any of it. Whatever. That's not a huge issue either way,
- 28:31Speaker 1: my cake. This episode always makes me sad because and Donald,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you asked, I can't even remember what the original story was.
- 28:40Speaker 1: All I can tell you was that John Ritter was
- 28:44Speaker 1: showing up Monday to start work, and you know, we
- 28:49Speaker 1: heard about his passing that Saturday night before Monday, and
- 28:57Speaker 1: you know, we're able to do the other storylines and
- 28:59Speaker 1: just through that story out, and I think it was
- 29:01Speaker 1: kind of a you know, trite but funny storyline that
- 29:04Speaker 1: you were dealing with. JD was dealing with his dad
- 29:06Speaker 1: instead of dealing with Turk's diabetes, and and we instead
- 29:09Speaker 1: called up Tom Kavanaugh and he was able to make
- 29:12Speaker 1: it work of getting out there and shooting all that
- 29:15Speaker 1: stuff late in the week. And you know, it was
- 29:19Speaker 1: really weird experience because we did an episode about JD's
- 29:22Speaker 1: dad dying and kind of processed John Ritter, who we
- 29:27Speaker 1: all loved, not only you know, as a as a
- 29:30Speaker 1: performer and character, but as a guy. Uh, you know,
- 29:33Speaker 1: kind of processed his passing simultaneously with doing a show
- 29:36Speaker 1: about it was a really weird experience. And uh, I
- 29:40Speaker 1: always think back about how much I loved watching that
- 29:42Speaker 1: guy work and how lucky we are to have gotten
- 29:45Speaker 1: to work with him. That's it, miss you guys. Why
- 29:49Speaker 1: do you think he introduced the idea that Turk has diabetes?
- 29:55Speaker 1: I think because of Stegman. Mark Stegman was a writer
- 29:59Speaker 1: on is a wright was a writer on Scrubs, and
- 30:02Speaker 1: he got diabetes, and they said that they were gonna,
- 30:07Speaker 1: uh if I remember correctly, they were gonna base Turk's
- 30:10Speaker 1: diabetes off of his experience, I see, because he was
- 30:15Speaker 1: sort of a young guy who got type two diabetes
- 30:17Speaker 1: and came out of nowhere. And like r Let's also,
- 30:21Speaker 1: it's interesting to give a doctor a malady so they
- 30:23Speaker 1: can you can you can go into all these you know,
- 30:27Speaker 1: stories about what it's like to be a doctor who
- 30:29Speaker 1: needs to be treated. It's very interesting that Turk and
- 30:32Speaker 1: Carla don't take it as I mean it's They obviously
- 30:35Speaker 1: take it seriously, but they're very nonchalant about it. Uh.
- 30:40Speaker 1: And he's not as uh like I know, if I
- 30:44Speaker 1: if somebody the doctor told me I had type two
- 30:46Speaker 1: diabetes right now in the dramatic shift in life for me,
- 30:52Speaker 1: and and and my the worry and am I gotta die?
- 30:56Speaker 1: All of that stuff. Turk is so and Carla, they're
- 30:58Speaker 1: so at ease about all of it. It was really
- 31:01Speaker 1: interesting to watch them. You know, type two, Type two
- 31:04Speaker 1: is way easier to deal with than type one. Right, Right,
- 31:08Speaker 1: you can exercise, there's ways that you can make it
- 31:10Speaker 1: to You don't have to do the you don't have
- 31:12Speaker 1: to do the shots. Right. What about your brain? We
- 31:15Speaker 1: see inside? This is a really this is the first
- 31:17Speaker 1: time there's ever been a fantasy within a fantasy within
- 31:19Speaker 1: a fantasy. We keep coming out of the audience keeps
- 31:24Speaker 1: thinking you're out of the fantasy, but it's still going.
- 31:26Speaker 1: When when you first go into Turk's brain brain, I
- 31:33Speaker 1: have a fantasy that I'm in Turk's brain, and in
- 31:36Speaker 1: Turk's brain is Judy and Heather in lingerie and they're
- 31:40Speaker 1: gearing up to make out. Now, what's funny is that
- 31:44Speaker 1: there's posters on the wall. It was a Sanford and
- 31:46Speaker 1: Sun's poster, and what's the other poster? There was some
- 31:51Speaker 1: rap maybe it was run DMC or something. I don't know.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. But I just was
- 31:55Speaker 1: laughing at the production design of your brain. Not only
- 31:58Speaker 1: that all when are esbians in my brain? Yeah, and
- 32:03Speaker 1: even even Molly is like, you're not gay, and She's like,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I am in here. So then we pop out and
- 32:12Speaker 1: I think Molly wants to make out of me, and
- 32:14Speaker 1: then we pop out of that fantasy and you want
- 32:17Speaker 1: to make out of me. And I'm going I don't
- 32:19Speaker 1: have gay jungle fever, but I do, Donald, I totally
- 32:25Speaker 1: do you totally down with the swirl? You are totally
- 32:28Speaker 1: down to swirl? Down to swirl? What does that mean
- 32:31Speaker 1: when you swirl chocolate and vanilla? Well, I'm down to swirl.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm very down to swirl. Are you down to swirl? Gay?
- 32:42Speaker 1: I don't think that's the thing. Donald, Oh no, I don't.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I don't have gay swirld Well, I thought about it
- 32:50Speaker 1: and I come to the conclusion that I don't have
- 32:52Speaker 1: gay swirl. Okay yo, When his pride? When his pride?
- 33:04Speaker 1: When it is pride? Dude, I don't know. Just something
- 33:08Speaker 1: overcame over me the other day. I was like, when
- 33:10Speaker 1: is pride? It's always in the summer, because there's always
- 33:12Speaker 1: this big naughty parade in Manhattan. This year's Pride is
- 33:15Speaker 1: gonna be off. The chase canceled. No one's doing fucking pride.
- 33:19Speaker 1: It is gonna be Zoom Pride. Dudeoom, It's gonna be dude.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'll participate in Zoom Pride. I will participating Zoom Pride.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? I wanted I've always wanted to
- 33:30Speaker 1: go to the parade down going to the Manhattanbury. Oh,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I've never going to West Hollywood, but I used to.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Is good. I used to always go to the New
- 33:39Speaker 1: York Parade because it was just the craziest people watching
- 33:42Speaker 1: you've ever seen. And it was so fun and everybody's
- 33:45Speaker 1: having a good time, and it's amazing. The world opens
- 33:49Speaker 1: back up. You gotta go to New York City Pride.
- 33:51Speaker 1: It's incredible. Yes, when I lived at Chicago, the parade
- 33:54Speaker 1: route went right by my apartment. It was perfection. You
- 33:58Speaker 1: can't beat that. It just seems like so much fun, man,
- 34:01Speaker 1: it just seems like so much fun. Everyone becomes a
- 34:04Speaker 1: go go dancer, no rules, all right. The janitor's nuts, dude,
- 34:10Speaker 1: I get. I get the reason for the crane. We
- 34:12Speaker 1: should go to break. You want to go to break Break.
- 34:15Speaker 1: We should go to we can get a break. We're
- 34:16Speaker 1: going to break. We'll be right back with the Donald
- 34:19Speaker 1: Fazon and the Zach Brath and Joe Money and we're back,
- 34:30Speaker 1: and we're back, and we're you know what song I've
- 34:33Speaker 1: been singing all weeks since I saw you, guys? What song?
- 34:37Speaker 1: Small face, pretty face with a big pang. We got
- 34:40Speaker 1: so many like requests for you to release that. I know.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Everyone listen, I promise you when we do the live show,
- 34:46Speaker 1: I will do the dance small face, pretty waste with
- 34:49Speaker 1: a big pang. But why? The next line is like,
- 34:53Speaker 1: why are you hating on me? Girl? You're my mama's age.
- 34:59Speaker 1: I can't get that fucking saw you out of my head? Smallway,
- 35:02Speaker 1: It's pretty fast. Should we talk about the janitor and
- 35:06Speaker 1: how the janitor is diabolical? He's diabolical by buddy. He's
- 35:11Speaker 1: one of the few episodes I learned on Scrubs Wiki
- 35:13Speaker 1: where the janitor is not tormenting me, it's tormenting Kelso. Instead.
- 35:19Speaker 1: The janitor, it seems, has taken the day off from
- 35:22Speaker 1: ruining my character's life because my dad died. Yeah, so
- 35:28Speaker 1: he's decided to focus his ire on Kelso, which is hilarious. Yes,
- 35:35Speaker 1: some of the although the end where he's hanging up
- 35:39Speaker 1: over his head before you know, when he when the
- 35:43Speaker 1: car he comes back and the cards back and now
- 35:46Speaker 1: he's above him. He can totally see the shadow going
- 35:49Speaker 1: over kids. I'm pretty good Kelso would have to do
- 35:51Speaker 1: is look up and be like, come on, man, it's
- 35:53Speaker 1: a heightened reality. Donald. The janitor builds a livable sand castle,
- 35:58Speaker 1: like where's where's kids? Like this kid's kid's not wearing
- 36:01Speaker 1: a baseball cap? Donald? Do you remember when you stuffed
- 36:05Speaker 1: me into a backpack? Wasn't it wasn't a fantasy? Do
- 36:10Speaker 1: you remember that a knapsack? Yes? And it was not
- 36:17Speaker 1: a fantast I do remember that. Yes. So it's a
- 36:24Speaker 1: heightened reality. But it is very funny, and I think
- 36:26Speaker 1: you could just rationalize that doctor Kelsey has really poor
- 36:29Speaker 1: peripheral vision and he only sees right right in front
- 36:32Speaker 1: of him. That's it. But you know, it's hilarious with
- 36:35Speaker 1: Sam Lloyd with his hair popping up that when it
- 36:37Speaker 1: popped up after this win win. Uh, how did they
- 36:40Speaker 1: do that? That looks great? That effect that was amazing.
- 36:44Speaker 1: How did they do that effect? I don't know, but
- 36:46Speaker 1: I laughed so hard at that I laughed so and
- 36:48Speaker 1: I remember when we remember I remember that scene. I remember.
- 36:52Speaker 1: This is one of the few episodes that I remember, uh,
- 36:55Speaker 1: not very well, but I remember. I remembered that his
- 36:58Speaker 1: hair was gonna do that, and when it happened again,
- 37:00Speaker 1: I still laugh so hard. It was so funny, and
- 37:02Speaker 1: they did a really funny like effect of it. Pop
- 37:04Speaker 1: when when the janitor swings on the crane into office
- 37:09Speaker 1: and grabs Sam, I think, what a wacky fucking episode.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I wonder you're right how much of it it was
- 37:19Speaker 1: just like had to be scrapped and rewritten for Tom.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I mean, obviously I know that had to be done,
- 37:26Speaker 1: but I wonder if, like certain things like this storyline,
- 37:29Speaker 1: we were untouched because it was fine, right, We're gonna
- 37:33Speaker 1: find out from ask Bill. I don't know. All I
- 37:36Speaker 1: know is that was that made me laugh so hard.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I think that's the biggest laugh of the show that
- 37:41Speaker 1: moment right there. And then kudos kudos to Tom Kabanova
- 37:46Speaker 1: coming in and sitting in a bathtub for a day,
- 37:50Speaker 1: and you know what I mean, that was great stuff.
- 37:52Speaker 1: It's such a weird way to mourn. By the way,
- 37:53Speaker 1: fans really loved this at this beat at least, I know.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of people talk about Dan in
- 37:58Speaker 1: the tub, and it is the more bizarre, most bizarre
- 38:02Speaker 1: way to grieve I've ever seen. I'm just gonna sit
- 38:04Speaker 1: in a tub for a few days and grieve and
- 38:07Speaker 1: just piss in the tub. It's so gross the tub,
- 38:09Speaker 1: He plunges, This is fucking nasty. He uses his plunger
- 38:14Speaker 1: to grab a beer out of the toilet because JD's
- 38:17Speaker 1: made him a makeshift cooler, and then he drops the
- 38:21Speaker 1: plunger into the toilet with himself. Do you ever think
- 38:25Speaker 1: about both plungers and toilet brushes, how like you use
- 38:29Speaker 1: them right, and of course they have like doodoo particles
- 38:33Speaker 1: on them, come man, But then you just put it
- 38:35Speaker 1: right next to the toilet. Yeah, yes, and Dan lets
- 38:39Speaker 1: Dan lets that fall into the tub that he's in.
- 38:42Speaker 1: So gross, dude, Yeah, his whole the whole tub sequence
- 38:48Speaker 1: itself was kind of gross. Him drinking the beer and
- 38:50Speaker 1: being like backwash, Yeah, just gross. And then and then
- 38:54Speaker 1: and then Cox being like, I'm pretty sure there's more
- 38:57Speaker 1: pea than water in that bathtub. He goes, Yes, the
- 39:00Speaker 1: ratio has shifted. I believe that. I believe the ratio
- 39:04Speaker 1: has shifted that way. What about Chuck Woolory Now, Chuck
- 39:08Speaker 1: Woolory in the in the intervening years, has gone full
- 39:11Speaker 1: mega mega trumper. I don't know if you know that.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I did not know that Chuck Woolery is speaking of
- 39:18Speaker 1: people that are very outspoken on social media see one
- 39:22Speaker 1: of them? Yes, yes, that's right. He was the one
- 39:25Speaker 1: that said that freaking which McCall had infiltrated the people
- 39:29Speaker 1: at the Capitol, right, didn't he say that? I don't
- 39:32Speaker 1: know what he said, but I know that he probably
- 39:35Speaker 1: won't be cast on the Mandalorian anytime. But politics aside,
- 39:41Speaker 1: do you remember the love Love Connection? These kids these
- 39:44Speaker 1: days don't know the fucking love connection. They should bring
- 39:47Speaker 1: that ship back. He hosted the Love Connection? But did
- 39:51Speaker 1: he host the Newlywed Game? Also? No, No, he was
- 39:54Speaker 1: Remember his catchphrase was we'll be back in two and two,
- 39:57Speaker 1: and as a kid, I didn't know what that meant.
- 39:59Speaker 1: But it meant four commercials, right, two minutes, two seconds,
- 40:03Speaker 1: which was four commercials? Did you know that? No? What
- 40:06Speaker 1: did you think he meant when he's like, we'll be
- 40:08Speaker 1: back in two and two, Mike, we'll be back into
- 40:11Speaker 1: I don't know what the that's what he meant. He meant, Okay, everybody,
- 40:14Speaker 1: we'll be back in two and two. That was his catchphrase,
- 40:16Speaker 1: which meant four commercials. I don't know what the two
- 40:18Speaker 1: seconds were like the buffer, I don't know. That's what
- 40:22Speaker 1: I thought. That's what I thought he meant. I thought
- 40:24Speaker 1: he meant two minutes in two seconds. Yeah, that's what
- 40:26Speaker 1: I thought anyway. So Love Connection, for those of you
- 40:30Speaker 1: who are too young to know, was a show where
- 40:32Speaker 1: they would they would present you as the as the
- 40:36Speaker 1: person who's on the show with three potential dates, and
- 40:41Speaker 1: then the audience would vote which person you should go
- 40:44Speaker 1: out with. No, he didn't you have to vote. I
- 40:46Speaker 1: think you voted. I think no, the audience voted. We
- 40:49Speaker 1: I thought it was Bachelor number one. Such a time, No,
- 40:51Speaker 1: you're communed the dating game. That's the day Love Connection was.
- 40:57Speaker 1: They had videos. This is like, obviously it goes without
- 40:59Speaker 1: saying it before the right I remember the Love Connection now.
- 41:06Speaker 1: I think that's the theme. And they would go out
- 41:10Speaker 1: on dates and then they'd come back and talk about
- 41:12Speaker 1: the dates, right, and they would argue, which was obviously
- 41:15Speaker 1: the best when they would get in fights over what
- 41:17Speaker 1: the date was like, and then if you like the person,
- 41:20Speaker 1: they'd be like, now, if you'd like to go out again,
- 41:23Speaker 1: we'll pay for it. Like that was the prize was
- 41:25Speaker 1: so stingy. It was like, you're gonna buy us fucking dinner?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Like thanks, But I guess the prize was you had
- 41:30Speaker 1: you gained love right? No, but I remember they would
- 41:33Speaker 1: be toad when they would argue the whole show, and
- 41:36Speaker 1: then they'd be like, if you'd like to go out
- 41:37Speaker 1: for dinner, we'll pay for it, and the and the
- 41:39Speaker 1: girl would be like, I mean, I guess we could
- 41:41Speaker 1: go out again for lobster. Sure. Yeah. Man, I don't
- 41:49Speaker 1: know about the Love Connection. I do think it would
- 41:52Speaker 1: be a great concept. Now, I don't know why. If
- 41:54Speaker 1: you're a producer, I'm willing to host the new Love Connection.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Really and there it is, and there it is. I
- 42:02Speaker 1: expect The Love Connection to be on ABC next season.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But I want to do the thing that you did
- 42:06Speaker 1: Donald when you did your game show. I don't want
- 42:07Speaker 1: to to be a part of my regular life. I
- 42:09Speaker 1: want to show up for like a weekend and bang
- 42:11Speaker 1: out like a hundred of them. You don't want to
- 42:13Speaker 1: do that, dude, I'm gonna tell you right now. I
- 42:16Speaker 1: literally did something, well, not literally, I did something very
- 42:20Speaker 1: similar to that. I know you hosted a game show,
- 42:22Speaker 1: and how many did you bang out in like two days?
- 42:24Speaker 1: In eight days we banged out something like forty fifty episodes?
- 42:29Speaker 1: Or did you lose your mind? Yeah, man, I got dude,
- 42:32Speaker 1: it's not it's not there. I do not recommend it
- 42:35Speaker 1: to anyone, whether you're a writer on the show, whether
- 42:38Speaker 1: you're a producer on said show, whether you're the host,
- 42:42Speaker 1: whether you're the stage manager, whether you're the costume. I don't.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I do not recommend it. It's a lot of work
- 42:50Speaker 1: in very little time. I lost my voice. You watch
- 42:55Speaker 1: people eat fight each other because there's there's no way
- 42:58Speaker 1: it can go smooth. You're trying to you know, a
- 43:01Speaker 1: shit ton of shows. You lose your mind a bit. Yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 1: I don't recommend. By the way, when we first were
- 43:06Speaker 1: talking about doing this podcast, a fella we were talking
- 43:10Speaker 1: to said you can do three, you can do like
- 43:13Speaker 1: nine in a weekend. You can do Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
- 43:15Speaker 1: three a day. And we were like, we were like,
- 43:18Speaker 1: that doesn't sound fun at all, Like that sounds like
- 43:20Speaker 1: work as opposed to like catching up with your friend, right,
- 43:23Speaker 1: I and I and I was glad that Donald agree
- 43:26Speaker 1: with me, like we should. We don't want to be
- 43:28Speaker 1: like exhausted doing this, it'll feel like a job, like
- 43:30Speaker 1: let's do it naturally and and and not bank them
- 43:34Speaker 1: like like that, because doing nine in a weekend, by
- 43:38Speaker 1: the time you got to the third one, you'd be like, oh, another, right,
- 43:42Speaker 1: what are we going to talk about? Right, I'm glad
- 43:45Speaker 1: that we didn't do that. I'm very happy. I'm happy
- 43:47Speaker 1: we didn't do that too. I will say this though,
- 43:50Speaker 1: when you do it that, when you do when doing
- 43:54Speaker 1: the game show and doing that many episodes, by the
- 43:57Speaker 1: time I got to the last two days, we were flying,
- 44:00Speaker 1: and it would just seemed like we were, you know,
- 44:02Speaker 1: just zipping through show after show after show after show
- 44:04Speaker 1: after show after show. But the first two days it's
- 44:08Speaker 1: an experiment, like I was also doing a pilot one
- 44:12Speaker 1: season at the same time, and so I was coming in,
- 44:15Speaker 1: you know, after working until three o'clock in the morning,
- 44:18Speaker 1: going to work at you know, six am on the
- 44:21Speaker 1: set to do the game show, and then having to
- 44:23Speaker 1: muster up all of this energy and stuff. It sounds
- 44:26Speaker 1: like you were burning the candle at both ends. Donald,
- 44:29Speaker 1: is that what they say that means is that. What
- 44:31Speaker 1: that means is what happens when it gets to the middle.
- 44:34Speaker 1: What happens when the candle gets to the middle, you die? Right,
- 44:37Speaker 1: That's it. It's a rape. It's a rap. The candle
- 44:40Speaker 1: is no more, the wick is no more. You are dead.
- 44:44Speaker 1: It's a rap. There's no there's not even a place
- 44:48Speaker 1: to collect the wax. There's nothing. Well. Listen, when I
- 44:51Speaker 1: host The New Love Connection next season on ABC, coming
- 44:56Speaker 1: this fall on ABC, I really want you to come
- 44:59Speaker 1: on and be my guest host sometimes, Yeah, no problem.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Will you be like, you know, Ellen has the DJ guy?
- 45:09Speaker 1: Oh gosh, by the way, that guy is that the
- 45:16Speaker 1: fella that's a sick dancer whose wife is a sick dancer.
- 45:19Speaker 1: And I always send you their videos? Yes, they Oh
- 45:23Speaker 1: my god, I always send Donald these videos. Let's let's
- 45:25Speaker 1: just put it into contact. Zach sends me these videos
- 45:28Speaker 1: and says, you and your wife should do this. We've
- 45:32Speaker 1: seen these two dances. Well, first of all, they're obviously
- 45:34Speaker 1: professional dancers, and they're insane and they're so fun. Will
- 45:37Speaker 1: you find out his name? Joel? I wanted to shout
- 45:39Speaker 1: out because I don't even follow them, to be honest,
- 45:42Speaker 1: but there it comes up on my feed and I
- 45:45Speaker 1: they are the cutest couple and they're both insane dancers
- 45:48Speaker 1: and they're dancing together, and I always forward them to Donald.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I'm like you in case you gotta do this, and
- 45:53Speaker 1: he's like, Casey can't dance, case you cannot dance, but
- 45:57Speaker 1: you can dance like that. They're killing it. I can.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I can dance a little. And they have these faces on.
- 46:03Speaker 1: You know, it's so funny when dancers make this face
- 46:05Speaker 1: that's like I could be doing this shit in my sleep,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, this is easy to me. Yeah, I
- 46:11Speaker 1: think if you're a dancer, the coolest thing you can do.
- 46:14Speaker 1: There's two things. There's two parts of it. You act
- 46:16Speaker 1: like right before the dance start, you act like you're
- 46:18Speaker 1: not even like you're just like adjusting your clothes, you're
- 46:21Speaker 1: not even trying to dance and like something you haven't
- 46:23Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden you pop into it.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Then the ship's amazing, right and then all right, sorry,
- 46:30Speaker 1: Joel got it from me. Stephen Boss's his name. His
- 46:32Speaker 1: wife is Alison Hulker. So watch them on Instagram. It's incredible.
- 46:36Speaker 1: And so they don't they both do that like, oh,
- 46:37Speaker 1: they're just adjusting their clothes. Oh honey, how was your Oh?
- 46:40Speaker 1: Oh shit? They jump in the fucking clear graph, and
- 46:45Speaker 1: then the whole time they have these look on their
- 46:47Speaker 1: faces like this isn't ship, Like this is like I
- 46:50Speaker 1: could be fucking drinking coffee when I'm doing this. If
- 46:53Speaker 1: it was me dancing, it would be horrible because I'm
- 46:56Speaker 1: making faces like you see the spit coming out of
- 46:58Speaker 1: my mouth. I'm breathing it so hard, my cheeks get big.
- 47:05Speaker 1: You know what I mean. I'm just telling you, can
- 47:07Speaker 1: you teach Casey one simple dance so we know the audience?
- 47:11Speaker 1: Can my daughter? My daughter tried to teach her mother
- 47:15Speaker 1: how to dance, and then she felt Wilder felt like
- 47:23Speaker 1: she didn't want to disrespect her mom by saying, Mommy,
- 47:26Speaker 1: you can't dance and you don't need to do what
- 47:28Speaker 1: you're doing is not So she's trying every which way
- 47:30Speaker 1: to be like, we don't need to do this anymore.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Let's do something else, because she didn't want to tell
- 47:36Speaker 1: her mom that her mom couldn't dance. Oh that's sweet though,
- 47:39Speaker 1: that she had such compassion at a young age like that,
- 47:43Speaker 1: I know but it still hurt Casey's feelings. Oh, because
- 47:49Speaker 1: Casey dreams of being like when she was younger, she
- 47:53Speaker 1: wanted to be the pop singer slash faking on the stage.
- 47:56Speaker 1: She's got the body for it these days. Donald M. Sorry, Sorry,
- 48:02Speaker 1: I went off something I went to do. J alright, Sorry,
- 48:12Speaker 1: I'm back. I'm back. No, no oh, oh, he's going
- 48:17Speaker 1: now he's gonna make me. I don't know what he's
- 48:19Speaker 1: gonna do. He's gonna obviously get Casey and he's gonna say, Zacht,
- 48:21Speaker 1: tell Casey that you think she's hot, but thank you,
- 48:26Speaker 1: or stop talking about me on your She loves to go.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Pull Casey onto the show, Zach. The fans love it too,
- 48:34Speaker 1: theyright fans. Alright, fans here come. I'm sure he's getting her.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Had a lot of sun dresses in that closet too.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I look at all those sun dresses. It's a very
- 48:45Speaker 1: hippie and Sluis and I like it. Yeah, very good
- 48:47Speaker 1: for Los Angeles. Tell her what you told me, Zach. Oh, boy,
- 48:53Speaker 1: anxiety when y'all call me, Well, he's now he's trying
- 48:55Speaker 1: to embarrass me because I said you were hot. Well,
- 48:58Speaker 1: I love that. We were talking about do you ever
- 49:04Speaker 1: watch them that woman Alison Hulker and Stephen Boss dance
- 49:08Speaker 1: on or a couple. He's the guy who's on Ellen
- 49:10Speaker 1: and there are a couple and they dance on Instagram together.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I've sent you their videos and been like, you and
- 49:15Speaker 1: Donald need to dance like this. And Donald said, well,
- 49:18Speaker 1: Casey's not necessarily the best dancer. And then he said, well,
- 49:24Speaker 1: back in the day, she wanted to be a pop star,
- 49:26Speaker 1: so don't tell her that or something like that. And
- 49:28Speaker 1: I said, she's got the body for it. And then
- 49:32Speaker 1: I got quiet because I was thinking about how fly
- 49:34Speaker 1: you look. And then things got awkward, but not as
- 49:36Speaker 1: awkward as this moment. Okay, for first of all, First
- 49:40Speaker 1: of all, Zach, you can say I'm hot every single day.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Thank you look amazing. Thank you. First of all, I've
- 49:48Speaker 1: never wanted to be a pop star. Yeah, tell me
- 49:52Speaker 1: in your yard and sing loud as it can be.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I said, it's a damn shame that I can't sing,
- 49:59Speaker 1: because I would kill it, right. I would, Yes, I would, Joel,
- 50:05Speaker 1: I'm serious because I watched these people and I think
- 50:07Speaker 1: they complain. Oh, I just don't want to go out
- 50:10Speaker 1: there do this. I would live my best life if
- 50:13Speaker 1: I could carry a tube. I just want you to
- 50:17Speaker 1: know that you're my fitness inspo right now. Every time
- 50:19Speaker 1: I click on of the Peloton, I think of like,
- 50:22Speaker 1: give me that casey body, give me that casey body.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that Peloton is my life savior. I
- 50:27Speaker 1: need to I fell off. Like you told me, they're
- 50:31Speaker 1: making a treadmill version. You told me that. I didn't
- 50:34Speaker 1: even know that. I googled they have a treadmill. But
- 50:37Speaker 1: they're coming out with a new treadmill that has support,
- 50:39Speaker 1: it has more support, and that's the one. Oh. I
- 50:41Speaker 1: didn't know they had a treadmill version of a running
- 50:44Speaker 1: version of Peloton until you. Yeah, I think, but I will.
- 50:47Speaker 1: You'll never know because the wait list is out the ass. Oh,
- 50:50Speaker 1: we'll never go on. Well, we have a connection here
- 50:51Speaker 1: because now they are our sponsors, so maybe we can
- 50:53Speaker 1: pull some strings, Joel, I need that trouble. Yeah, well
- 50:57Speaker 1: we'll show, we'll show. All right, we gotta go talking
- 51:00Speaker 1: about your hot body. Get out of here, you, Zach,
- 51:04Speaker 1: I love you. Oh god, Juelle, can I have that
- 51:07Speaker 1: as a sound bite please, By the way, that's gonna
- 51:11Speaker 1: be Daniel, Daniel, I know you're not here, but you're
- 51:13Speaker 1: gonna listen. I need that sample for my pad. That's
- 51:18Speaker 1: gonna be one of my samples. She just said, Zach,
- 51:19Speaker 1: I love you. That's gonna be one of my samples.
- 51:22Speaker 1: But it's like a sister no, but I'm gonna put it.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna hit well, I don't know for my brain.
- 51:27Speaker 1: It's not a sister things. Dude, What is going on here?
- 51:30Speaker 1: What's going on here? What we've been? We? We are we?
- 51:36Speaker 1: You are getting weird all of a sudden. I'm sorry,
- 51:38Speaker 1: I've tooking it too far. I flew too close to
- 51:39Speaker 1: the sun. Ja Jad is wearing a Tompkins Square Park
- 51:45Speaker 1: T shirt. I just want to point out that that's
- 51:46Speaker 1: in Alphabet City. So this is the second episode in
- 51:49Speaker 1: a row where JD is giving nods to the East
- 51:53Speaker 1: Village of Manhattan. For some reason, I didn't pick up
- 51:56Speaker 1: on that. But yes, okay, now this is something that's
- 52:01Speaker 1: sort of brushed over. But Cox punches j D in
- 52:03Speaker 1: the face. Yeah, yeah, it felt a little bit much. Yeah.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Cox is coming from a great place, and he really
- 52:11Speaker 1: is stepping up for JD and trying to take all
- 52:15Speaker 1: of his patients for him. And you know, make it
- 52:17Speaker 1: so the guy has a day off and has the
- 52:19Speaker 1: correct amount of time or the enough time to grieve.
- 52:25Speaker 1: The problem was that is that he was doing it
- 52:27Speaker 1: for himself and not necessarily for JD. He felt like
- 52:30Speaker 1: he was doing something good for a friend, but it
- 52:33Speaker 1: was making him feel better. It was making him feel good.
- 52:38Speaker 1: That's where the problem was, and so I don't think
- 52:40Speaker 1: he really recovered that quickly from someone, especially your mentor
- 52:43Speaker 1: punching you in the face. I mean, they don't show
- 52:44Speaker 1: it on camera. This is like an off camera thing
- 52:48Speaker 1: comes down and goes. I punched him in the face,
- 52:50Speaker 1: and then you see j D and he's got a
- 52:51Speaker 1: bloody nose, and we're all just like, all of a sudden,
- 52:53Speaker 1: everyone's just bouncing back like, oh, that never happened. My
- 52:56Speaker 1: boss didn't punch me in the face to get a
- 52:58Speaker 1: bloody nose or anything. But this is also the episode
- 53:00Speaker 1: where tears Ted's hair pops up like a cartoon and no,
- 53:04Speaker 1: but I'm saying that's a heightened reality situation. Your boss
- 53:08Speaker 1: punching in the face is a pretty crazy experience in life,
- 53:12Speaker 1: but most people don't have. I think this is one
- 53:14Speaker 1: of those episodes where I think this is one of
- 53:16Speaker 1: the damn my boss to punch me in the face. Shit,
- 53:18Speaker 1: I'm making me some money. Punch me, motherfucker. I dare
- 53:22Speaker 1: you to give me that money. Please be the best.
- 53:25Speaker 1: That would be the best day ever. Like, you're just
- 53:27Speaker 1: hanging out at work and Kevin Figgy walks in and
- 53:30Speaker 1: punches you in the face. Right if you wanted to
- 53:33Speaker 1: marble people you like, you just made my life. Thank you. No,
- 53:39Speaker 1: Jeff Jeff Bezels punches you in the face, please right right,
- 53:43Speaker 1: You're you're you're at You're at freaking Amazon, and he
- 53:47Speaker 1: was he walking in taking a tour and he sees you,
- 53:49Speaker 1: just walks up and punches you in the face. You're like,
- 53:52Speaker 1: thank you. By the way, if you're Jeff Bezos, you're
- 53:54Speaker 1: probably probably being sued every hour, so you probably can't
- 53:58Speaker 1: look like your life is so limited because everyone's just
- 54:01Speaker 1: like trying to find a reason to sue you. Right
- 54:05Speaker 1: that that was the funniest thing ever that Dave Chappelle
- 54:08Speaker 1: sketch where he gets Oprah pregnant as she calls him up.
- 54:14Speaker 1: As she goes Dave, he goes, yeah, Oprah, what's up?
- 54:18Speaker 1: She goes, I'm pregnant? He goes like he's celebrating, trying
- 54:24Speaker 1: to not so she can't hear it. And then he goes,
- 54:27Speaker 1: and then he goes, and then he goes, is it mine?
- 54:30Speaker 1: And she goes, it's yours, and he getn't even happy.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Now I'm imagine that. I imagine that's what it'd be like.
- 54:42Speaker 1: If Jeff Bezol just came up and punched you in
- 54:44Speaker 1: the face. You'd be so happy. You'd be so happy,
- 54:48Speaker 1: like Dave Chappelle was happy for a one night stand
- 54:50Speaker 1: with Oprah. I'd be so happy if if Jeff Bezol
- 54:54Speaker 1: just punched me in the face, because that means I'm billionaire.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I'm a billionaire. It'd be so rich. I get it. Okay,
- 55:01Speaker 1: I'm watching The Tiger speaking of rich people in babies,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I'm watching the Tiger documentary. Now, the Tiger King. No,
- 55:09Speaker 1: the Tiger Woods documentary. I'm on a sports documentary. Kick
- 55:14Speaker 1: it's a good dance. The Tiger Woods Documentary is a
- 55:17Speaker 1: good one. You remember, Uka Tell? Yeah, I know Rachel.
- 55:20Speaker 1: You could tell. She was a party planner and and
- 55:23Speaker 1: and uh and VIP host and uh and she threw us,
- 55:28Speaker 1: threw me one of my birthday parties in Vegas. No,
- 55:31Speaker 1: that was in Manhattan. What was the one in Vegas
- 55:33Speaker 1: that we went to that she threw the part she
- 55:35Speaker 1: was she's I mean, we only she was super cool.
- 55:38Speaker 1: We only I mean, I have nothing but great things
- 55:40Speaker 1: to say about Rachel. She was so But all of
- 55:43Speaker 1: a sudden, there she isn't the documentary and she sits down.
- 55:46Speaker 1: She's like, all right, what do you want me to say?
- 55:48Speaker 1: That was good? That was good. But I haven't gotten
- 55:51Speaker 1: to the I haven't gotten to the nitty gritty of
- 55:53Speaker 1: of of of their their their love connection, if you will.
- 55:58Speaker 1: But but it's well, it's it's fascinating. Oh my god.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I really didn't know. And you're gonna laugh at me,
- 56:03Speaker 1: but I knew he was great. I had no idea
- 56:06Speaker 1: he was as good as he was. He's like Lebron James.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Lebron James was appointed the chosen one at a very
- 56:14Speaker 1: very very very very young age. And usually when you
- 56:17Speaker 1: do that, the person doesn't pan out. The chosen one
- 56:21Speaker 1: doesn't pan out in every aspect of even in the movies,
- 56:25Speaker 1: the chosen one doesn't pan out. Tiger and Lebron did
- 56:30Speaker 1: from the gate. They were they were you were gonna
- 56:33Speaker 1: be great at this sport. You are going to you
- 56:36Speaker 1: are going to not only be great, you are going
- 56:39Speaker 1: to change the sport. And both of them did. Yeah,
- 56:43Speaker 1: but I mean Tiger's hitting shots. I didn't even know
- 56:45Speaker 1: human beings could. I mean, I know, it's the same
- 56:47Speaker 1: thing with Jordan, it's the same thing with all that.
- 56:49Speaker 1: But again from from someone who's nothing about sports. They
- 56:52Speaker 1: just showed in one episode in part two, he has
- 56:54Speaker 1: to hit this chip shot that's like in it's like
- 56:59Speaker 1: the worst position. It's not on the green, it's like
- 57:02Speaker 1: he has to use his sand wedge or whatever it is,
- 57:05Speaker 1: and he chips it up and it fucking bounces once
- 57:08Speaker 1: and goes in. And it was like, I didn't know
- 57:10Speaker 1: human being could do that. I mean, not to mention
- 57:12Speaker 1: the fucking random hole in ones he gets from teeing off. Right,
- 57:16Speaker 1: he's an amazing it's a it's a there's another level.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And what's crazy now is that golf is filled with
- 57:22Speaker 1: a bunch of people who were inspired by him, and
- 57:25Speaker 1: so you have all of these young kids. When I
- 57:28Speaker 1: was growing up, I didn't watch golf, you know what
- 57:31Speaker 1: I mean. And when if you did watch golf and
- 57:33Speaker 1: it was on, it was a bunch of old people
- 57:35Speaker 1: playing like a bunch of really old people playing. Now
- 57:38Speaker 1: golf has eighteen years like his kids playing golf, and
- 57:41Speaker 1: they're not just hitting the ball like it's it's so
- 57:44Speaker 1: exciting because they're not hitting the ball like a couple
- 57:46Speaker 1: of hundred yards. They're hitting the ball like three hundred
- 57:49Speaker 1: and fifty to four hundred yards. Now, there's this dude
- 57:52Speaker 1: named to Shambo, who I'm sorry, man, I think this
- 57:55Speaker 1: dude is. He is the biggest man I've ever seen
- 57:59Speaker 1: play golf ever in his Like I don't mean chubby,
- 58:02Speaker 1: I mean he took some creatine and some freaking aminos
- 58:05Speaker 1: and then just lifted a bunch of weight and now
- 58:07Speaker 1: he's bombing the ball so far, and so golf has
- 58:10Speaker 1: now become so much fun. Was the first person to
- 58:14Speaker 1: Tiger was the first Like nobody knew he looked like that.
- 58:17Speaker 1: You know, nobody knew he looked like that until that
- 58:20Speaker 1: Vanity Fair article came out after the scandal happened, you
- 58:23Speaker 1: know what I mean. No, I remember I remember Casey
- 58:25Speaker 1: seeing that thing and being like, holy shit, I didn't
- 58:27Speaker 1: know he looked like that. Like nobody knew Tiger looked
- 58:30Speaker 1: like that. Under there you knew he was he was
- 58:32Speaker 1: working out, but nobody knew he looked like that dude.
- 58:35Speaker 1: At one point, Tiger was for real, for real, like
- 58:39Speaker 1: this is gonna sound weird, but like Apex Predator on tour,
- 58:42Speaker 1: like he was the king of the tour when it
- 58:45Speaker 1: came to everybody, like all of it, even the greats,
- 58:48Speaker 1: bowed down to him. And then off the off the
- 58:51Speaker 1: field also he was like this stud that. Nope, you
- 58:54Speaker 1: couldn't and you wouldn't fat You couldn't believe it because
- 58:56Speaker 1: it was like this nerdy dude who played golf and
- 58:58Speaker 1: you didn't look at golfers that way. And Tiger was
- 59:01Speaker 1: doing things that you know, all these other professional athletes
- 59:05Speaker 1: were doing. It was his story is like and it's
- 59:09Speaker 1: what took him down. It's it's one of the most
- 59:11Speaker 1: phenomenal stories ever. And then his rise back and now
- 59:14Speaker 1: you watch his son play and his son is just
- 59:16Speaker 1: like him. It's like, did Tiger come back? I don't
- 59:20Speaker 1: really know anything about Did I know he had a
- 59:22Speaker 1: I know he had to come back, but did he
- 59:24Speaker 1: has he come back at a really good level. He
- 59:27Speaker 1: was winning a lot and then he got injured and
- 59:30Speaker 1: the injuries took him away from the game for a
- 59:32Speaker 1: really long time, and then he had the d u
- 59:35Speaker 1: I and then he had the pill thing, and uh,
- 59:39Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, I'm only in part two
- 59:41Speaker 1: of The Doctors. Okay, Well anyway, anyway, all these things happen,
- 59:44Speaker 1: and then after that he's bounced back and he's won
- 59:46Speaker 1: a major again. He'd want Yeah, he's he's he's I
- 59:51Speaker 1: root for Tiger all the time because you know, it's
- 59:54Speaker 1: very rare that in a sport like golf. Uh, you
- 59:59Speaker 1: see any brown skin, you know, there's still still there's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: not a lot of black golfers still to this day.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Him Harold Varnard the third. There may be a couple
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: of more Jason Days Brown, there may be a couple
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: of more. I'm sure I'm forgetting some people. What's the
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: farthest you can drive? So the furthest I've ever driven
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: is three hundred and sixteen yards, which is on tour,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: which is a little bit under average, Like these guys
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: average three football fields. Yeah, that's far, it seems to me.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: It is. It's very far. But these guys are driving
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: like three fifty three carrying like three twenty like you
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like just spin. I have a
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: question that came up for me in the documentary. So
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: if you're trying to drive far and then you have
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: to go left because that's where the green is. Are
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: they putting some sort of spin on it that it
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: goes and then starts to turn. How does that work?
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: So the golf club is like a pink paw and
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: paddle almost. Oh, you can put spin on it, you
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: can write, but it it's it comes from different angles.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: So if you wanted to go if you wanted to
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: go right, you come at the ball from you know,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: it's like a The best way to do it is
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: like when we play tennis and you want to slice
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: or you want top. It's how you it's how you
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: hit the ball. From which angle you hit the ball
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: causes this type of spin. So some people are able
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: to make it hit hit the hit the Great Donald
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: loves this. Donald gets bored playing tennis and so then
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: he starts doing trick shots and he does these crazy
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: spins where like, I mean, no one can fucking hit it.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: It like does the wackiest ship. But if you're playing
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: I'm playing Wednesday, do you want to come where with
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: with Chris? Where with time at his house time. I
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: don't know a way. I do know one PM, I think,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: so you're playing right after case I must be Do
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: you want to come? I'll come through if I if
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I can get a babysitter, that's if that's if Kai
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: is back. Okay, all right? So Joelle, Oh my god,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I wish the fans could see when we do the
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: live show. Joe, you're gonna have to bring this puppy.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: There is the cutest puppy you've ever seen that Joelle
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: has adopted and rescued. All right, listen, everybody, we got
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: a fan call. We'll be right back after these fine words,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: and right back and we're back. Who do we have today? What?
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: What fun adventures will we get in? What part of
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: the world will we be going to? Let's go to
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: the fan caller and find out what part of the
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: world will this caller take us to? We just never know. Wayne?
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Are you here? Col thunderous applause? Dan when you hear this?
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Hi Wayne? How are you? I am good? How are
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: you guys? Welcome to the program. We're very honored that
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: you're joining us. Where are you calling from? I'm calling
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: from a little city called Selma in California, right outside
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: the outskirts of Fresno. Okay, don't. I don't even know
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: where friends Noo is. Where is Fredsno, I've heard of it.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: You've got to go north north oh Central Valley. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: so just up north from past Bakersfield, probably about three
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: hours away from La Okay. And I sense that you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: like dogs, basketball and Star Wars. That is true. Yes,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I'm a huge Lakers fan. Okay. So anytime Shaye was
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: on the program, I loved hearing his take on just
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: basketball as a whole. Oh my god, Shay. We forgot
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: about Shay, Joel. We got a book Shame for season four.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I didn't forget about Shay. Well, I didn't forget about Shay.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: But we we usually the first thing when we start
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: a new season is we call shamee like, which one
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: you want to do? We haven't done that, m all right,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Sorry buddy, Thank you, Wayne, Sorry sorry Wayne. You reminded
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: me we have to call Shay. Not a problem at all.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: And I do have a dog. He is hiding behind
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: me now. He's a Corgy Australian Shepherd mix. Wow. Those
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: are both cool breeds. Yeah, and Jedi, you love return
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: of the Jedi, it seems, I do, yes, is that
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: your favorite of all the movies? I would actually say
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: it's tied with Empire strikes Back. I have a soft
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: spot for Return of the Jedi because of how just
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: this nostalgia, like that was really the first one I
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: saw growing up. I actually skipped a New Hope and
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Empire strikes Back. Saw that one first, didn't really get it,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: and then went around and watched the other one. So
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: you did the Donald treatment. I gotta tell you a
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: funny story, Wayne. I was on some Reddit thread last
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: night reading. There was some Reddit thread that was like
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: what are fans theories that you actually believe? And there's like,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you know, zillion of them. But I was screenshotting the
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Star Wars ones because I thought, oh, I'll send it
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: to Joelle and Donald, my two mega Star Wars fans,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: and I'll and I'll show them something they might not know.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: And Donald's like in the chat, like I know that one. Yeah,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I've heard that. Yeah, I don't agree with that one. Yeah,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I've heard that one. Like like, bro, I'm just trying
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: to do a service and send you some shit I
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: found on Reddit, but you're sending me like easy ones,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: like the reason why Luke Skywalker's lightsabers green is because
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: he's using Qui Gon's crystal. But that was obvious, man,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: he got it from Obi Wan's hut. Like these things
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: are obvious. I don't even know by the way I
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: scanned it, and I was like, I don't know who
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: the fuck any of these people are, Like Quiet, I
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: don't know who Qui Gon is. You know who Liam
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Neeson is? You know you know who Liam Neeson's you
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: love them the name of you know who Quato is? Yeah,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Quato from Dude Quarto. I wonder I'd like to see
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: a movie with Otto and Qui got both dead? Both listen?
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: All right, Wayne, do you have a question for us?
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I do. I have a few questions. So the first
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: one to run through is are there any movies or
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: TV shows that both you and Donald wish you could
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: have started in together or could do a US spinoff of? Like,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: for example, I thought it'd be hilarious to see as
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Zach Brath and Donald Faizon version of a stoner comedy
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: like Harold and Kumar. They crushed out. I don't know
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: if we could do Harold, and we don't want we
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: could do a stoner comedy, but I don't think we
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: could do hald and Kumar. The first answer that comes
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: to my mind is Spies Like Us, Oh, because I
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: love the the the conceit of two guys weighing over
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: their heads being put into like Russia or wherever it is.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: And I love that movie as a kid, and it
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: doesn't have to be exactly that movie, or doesn't even
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: have to have the title Spies Like Us. But I've
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: always said that Donald and Bill are actually like I
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: would love to do like the rough premise of that
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: you know, we're underlings, you know. I believe that they
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: were both like just like you know, cubicle guys at
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: the CIA or something, and for x y Z reasons
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: they get called upon to go be undercover spies in
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: the field. And I love that movie, and so I
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: think Donald and I would be hilarious as you know,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: sort of cubicle level CIA agents that are just doing
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: some bullshit and then for X y Z reasons we
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: get called upon to go like be the undercover spies.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I would love that. I think there was this movie
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: that Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal did back in a
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: day called Running Scared and that's one, and the bad
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: guy in it played Bail Organa in Star Wars. And
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Zach did a movie, I mean, I play with him
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: in Central Park. His name is Jimmy Smits. And they
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: did a movie called Running Scared back in the day,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: which is, in my opinion, it's Zach and I all
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: over again. I'd be Gregory Hines and I've never seen
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: if you get the chance to check it out. Of course,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: there are a lot of There are a lot of
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: really good actors. And Joe Joey pap isn't it pamp
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: How do you say his last name Papaloni? How you
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Pantalonas or Pantalona? No, that's the pants. How do you
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: see Joey? I know what I do. They call him
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Joey Pants. I forgot how to say his last name,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Joey pants. He's hilarious. Yeah, Joey Pants is in it
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: like he's goonies too. Yeah. Remember I've worked with him before. Also,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: But Pantaliano, Pantantaliano. Yeah, Joey Pantaliano's in it like it's
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: a Pantalonas. I know, crazy, I know. Anyway you think
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: of White Knights, I wish we could do White Knights,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: another great movie. Say you say say it together. If
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: you haven't seen White Knights and you're listening to this,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: what the fuck are you doing? That's the way it
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: should be. As we go down that lonesome highway, it
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: seems the hardest thing to do is to find the friend,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: the two boom, that helping hand, who understands that? Tell Collins, no,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: that's Lina Richie. When you seem lost your way, you
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: got someone to say, don't show you still, Colins, say
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: you there is Isn't there a song? Don't lose my number? No?
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I think it's you called you found the room in
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: your hotel. You have no right to ask me how
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: you you have to speak to me? So I love
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: that song. That song is fire something man find myself
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: looking in your eyes? Yeah, Wayne's like, what the fun?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Just as question? Wait? Wayne, Wayne promised me you'll watch
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: White Knights. I am, I have actually had the tap
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: up and I'm gonna rent no way, Watton, Wayne running
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: scared scared Wayne, Wayne, you can watch both. It'll be
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: It'll be a Gregory Hines fucking uh, it'll be a
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Gregory Hines Knight. Gregory Hindes Knight at your house. I'm
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: gonna ashle. I'm gonna watch that with my wife when
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: she gets back from work today. White Scared. I don't
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: know if White Knights. I don't know if White Knights
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: holds up. But I don't remember. Oh yeah, dude, come on,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I remember loving it. Didn't they both get No, didn't
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: they movie get nominated or something like that. It's about defecting.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: It's about defecting. Yeah, it's about Parish Mukoff. By the way,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Parish Mukoff, who wasn't a professional actor, he was just
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: a genius ballet dancer, acts his face off. It is that,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Am I right? Joel? Is that Phil Collins song in
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the movie Never Live? It was called Separate Lives? Yeah?
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I need you. I need you, audience members, to not
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: only crank Separate Lives after this show, but then I
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: need you to watch White Knights. Wayne's gonna do it.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I'm absolutely gonna do it right now. But I'm on
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: here right now. No, we're not all glad you're here.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: We were if we were allowed to play music, I'd
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: be cranking that ship right now. I want a Golden
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Globe for Best Original Score. There you go. I think
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: that Separate Lives and the song Donald's the Lana Richie
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: song were were original for the movie. That might be
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: crazy talk? Could? I think you're right though? Wayne? Do
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: you have another question? All right? Wayne? But god you
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: got Wayne? You inspired me indirectly. I'm gonna have a
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Phil Collins fest today. I'm like computer, right, that's the
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: best type? You know, which one? Superman? Where are you now?
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Bet at bed words? And all of the time waitin
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: oh oh, it was fun. I don't know what happened
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: to Fill Collins, but I miss him. He was wasn't
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: he on Jimmy Fallon recently? I don't know, but his
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: daughter is coming and he made a resurgence a little
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: bit because of the two kids that were like reacting
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: to that. Did you see him do the skid on Saturday?
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: And I laughed this week? Very funny, very funny? All right,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: didn't see all right? Sorry? Wait, what's your next question?
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Next question for both of you guys, even Joel of course,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: feel free to uh bring in what do you think?
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: But what do you guys think? Are like the top
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: three most important or influential movies of all time without
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: including Star Wars Donald because we right there. But I mean, okay,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: shit man, damn well, I had to take a little
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: bit harder on you. I got I got a couple
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: of them. Well, Jaws. Jaws comes to my mind because
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Jaws they credit with creating the summer blockbuster. Jaws was
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: such a phenomenon that it launched the idea of a
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: giant summer blockbuster. That's first thing that came to my
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: mind when you asked the question. I think Do the
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Right Thing was one of those movies that changed a
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: lot of you know what I mean, And we're still
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: dealing with a lot of the things that happened in
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: that movie today with police brutality, uh, you know, a
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: disconnect with the inner city between law enforcement and stuff.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Also racism and how it's how it's shown, you know,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: how a white man can move into an all black
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: neighborhood and thrive in a neighborhood and make money off
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: of a community and then feel like the communities beneath him. Also,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean, it's like, it's it's it's
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: such a it's such a telling tale that is going
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: on in America right now. So Do the Right Thing
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: is definitely one of those movies that after I saw it,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I was like, not only did it change, it changed,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: it changed how I looked at movies also because now
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I wanted to see more brown faces and in movies
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: like that was the first time where I really recognized,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Wait a second, I'm not represented enough in theater and
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: right and as I understand it, Spike Lee was one
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: of the first to make a political film about the
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: black experience. Right. No, there's been a bunch of them.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: There's there's been a bunch of them before that. Uh,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: you know guests who's coming to dinner as a political No?
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: I mean, I just mean from black. I don't know.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: I might just be regurgitating something that was said in
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Malcolm and Marie. Have you guys watched that yet? No?
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Not yet, No, but I'm looking forward to it. It's
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: really interesting. I recommend it. Come here. Do you want
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to come and say? Hi? Yeah, we have a visitor.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Hey Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, don't ever say I don't introduce
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: you to fancy. Hello. This is Florence Pugh and that's
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: that's Wayne. How are you doing? I am doing really well, Florence.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I just want to say I loved you in fighting
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: with my family, no way. Yeah, actually a huge wrestling nerd.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: And I love that movie. I love your portrayal of Page.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: It was so thank you so much. I really that's
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: that's really kind of you. I loved doing that film
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: so much. I also loved pretending to be a wrestler
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: for about two months. It was wicked. Can you still
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: do some of those moves? Yeah, she'll Wayne in some
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: of the moons. Magine. She just fucking snapped my neck, Matine.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Just put you to sleep. She was she can beat
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: the shit out of me, by the way, and I'm
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: always like, stop fucking attacking me. And she's always doing
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: these wrestling moves. She not only has the wrestling side,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: but now she's got the black widow side. The shit
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: out of me, Wayne. Yeah, I can't wait for that
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: movie too. It's going to be so exciting. All right,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you all the spoilers. Wayne. Here we
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: go about to say Castle all of a sudden, having
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: repels from the ceiling night out of nowhere, propels of
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: the building and punches me in the face. Yeah, how
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: did you get into my house? He's everywhere they're listening. No,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: we're not telling you any secrets. However, yes, I do
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: have a special set of skills without having like name
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Nason now that I've acquired over the fighting films and
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: they're great, right, you enjoy them, They're awesome. Well, no,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: I love fighting with my family. I'm not just saying
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: that because the skis. Oh, I do like it. I
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: think it's great that you're a badass. But she but
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: it is a bit emasculating for me because I she
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: like pins me and like giggles and I'm like trying
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: to get out of and I'm like, no, no, seriously,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: you got the best. And she's just sitting there fucking giggling,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: and I'm like pinned to the floor. I've been tapping
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: out for a while now. I've been tapping out. Yeah. No,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: We'll be fighting and he'll be like, I'm letting you win,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, really, is that why you're underneath?
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: She's so strong. Way, the worst thing you could ever
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: say is I'm letting you win, never because then it
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: gets worse, because then like it just pisses us off. No,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I'm just sitting there like, no, seriously, let me up.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: There's a little bit of fear in the laughter there's
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: a little bit like, no, I'm trying. I'm trying to
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: do that laugh like you probably used to do with
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: your siblings. Really, now, okay, let's let's stop now. Is
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: the other one that he says is he goes, why
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: are you so strong? It's regretted teeth. It's amazing how
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: strong you are. You're lucky. I'm not really trying. How
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: is everyone quickly? Everybody's good? Daniels. You you have any puppy? Yes, Joel,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: show her the puppy. Please, she's wake her asses. Don't
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: wake like down, don't wake her up. Did you just
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: say wake her ass up? Yeah, she's a puppy. They
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: need to wake him up. Woke up, We'll waken There's
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: too many courts. I'll send you some picks flow, no worries.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: I'm so happy that you've you've posted a puppy though.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: That's very She adopted from art the same place, LaBelle Foundation.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: If you're in Los Angeles and you need a puppy,
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: look at the LaBelle Founding. We should do a puppy
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: play date. Oh my god, yes, please she needs to Wayne.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: I'm sorry not giving Wayne any attention. Perfect get to
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: new people. It's exciting. I know, we're so we're so
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: stuck in quarantine. Wayne, It's it's just exciting for Florence
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: to talk to a stranger. I'm like, Wayne, you want
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: to come around on some day, Florence, this is a
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: stranger over. He lives close enough to come over. Wayne,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: You're not invited over. Okay, it's literally pushing me out
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: the room now, fee love me bye. All Right, you
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: got both some cameos today, audience. You got Casey Cobb
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: and the Florence Pew. All right, Wayne, it's time for
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Selma California's favorite segment. It's time too fix your life?
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: All right, sir? How can we fix your life today? Uh? So,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: this is kind of a question for Donald and I
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: know you probably get these all the time, and I
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: listened and heard you get these all the time. But
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: it's kids related. My wife and I are looking to
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: start trying for kids soon, doing research and just like
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: I don't really know what to expect. So my question was,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: what are saying things I should be aware of for
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: the first year, and like, how do I strive to
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: be a good father? Oh, have you guys started having
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: sex yet? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, of course, have you started
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: having sex to have kids? We are kind of starting that.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I think her family might be listening to this. I
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: don't want to say yes, and I think they know
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: how the whole thing. You guys are husband and wife. Dude. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: So look here's the thing. Here's the thing. The best
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: part is about to happen right now, and that's making
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: the baby. That's the best. That's as good as it
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: ever gets. This is this is this is this is
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: the one time in your relationship where you are going
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: to have, let's make a baby sex and it's the
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: best because it's all the time. It might be two
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: three times a day. You don't know. You might get
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: shocked because you gotta you gotta put a baby in her.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Enjoy that moment. Okay, now, what are something? What are something?
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: That's that part? Now? What are He's asking him sincere question,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: which is like, well, how do you prepare to be
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: a good father? When there's no preparation for being a
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: good father? You just will be you. It's in your
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: it's in your it's in your dinner DNA. I never
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: heard it called. Do you understand it's up in you?
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: In you? You you know what I mean, you know
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: how to uh. You you love your wife right absolutely
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: when you look at your baby, you're going to see
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: your wife and yourself and you can't help but love.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: It's just it's what it just it just happens, and
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you're not going to be prepared, but you'll always come through.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: One thing I know, Wayne, is that just from from
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: friends and family, is that you do have to be
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: prepared that the baby is gonna just only want mom
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: in the beginning, right Donald, Well, yeah, that's a possibility. Also,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: you're gonna have a lot of hers. You're gonna have
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: a lot to do though, so but most of that
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: isn't most of that supporting her like the baby doesn't.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: The first the first year, the first year, you are
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: the support You are a part of the support group
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: and you are uh And it's not it's not by choice.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: The baby really doesn't want anything to do with you.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Don't take it personally. You're the soux chef, you know
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: what I mean. It just hasn't, you know what I mean.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: But then but then there's a lot of work, that's it.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: And it's a lot of fun, don't get it. You know,
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: we talk and we Joe can we and we and
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: we make it seem like it's a doomed thing, but
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: that I think parent We do that as parents too.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: It's the same way their characters on Scrubs talked about
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: the hospital and dealt with death. We're like that parents
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: who like that with their kids. You think you'll you'll
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: paint it as the worst picture ever, but really you're
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: having a great time. So all of these people that
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: are out there, you know, pooh pooing on the idea
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: of having kids, or it seems like they're doing that,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: they're not. They're just it's a stick, you know what
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: I mean. It's like that. You know, my wife and
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: I have this thing that we do when we get
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: around other couples where we fall into a stick. That's
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: what all parents do when they talk about their kids.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: It's a stick that they're making up saying how horrible
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: their kids are, when really they love their children one
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: hundred They love their kids more than anything. So you
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: don't have to worry about that. You will step up
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: and you will. You will be the father that you
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: want to be. It's in you. You have it. The
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: force is strong with you and time. I mean, that's
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: the the biggest thing that seems to me you can
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: you can commit is giving your time in the first
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: year to your wife and being her support staff and partner.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: And then as they get older Donald to correct me
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: if I'm wrong, it seems to me that the thing
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: they want most is your attention and your time. Yeah,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: that's a lot of it's a lot of that, And
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: it's okay if you can't give it all the time. Also,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: you know what I mean. You know, not everybody has
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: time for you, you know, so you don't have to
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: have all the time in the world for your kids.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: But yeah, the majority of your time is spent nurturing
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: and teaching and you know, enjoying. So experience it. And
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: and and I promise you, where you think you are
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: going to fail, you'll probably succeed at the highest levels.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: It's the things that are unexpected that catch you off guard.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: Looking forward to it, Yeah, well I'm excited for you.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: And please let us know how it goes. And you're welcome.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: You're welcome. You're welcome. You're welcome. They want quick thing,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: real quick. You could say whatever anything. You can say
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: anything you want, as long as it's not an analogy
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: about being a Republican is like being in the Holocaust.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: I cannot believe. Gina said that, Oh well. The reason
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: why I asked Joel, it's if I could be on
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: this episode was because my Cake actually has a very
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: special place in my heart right now. I lost my
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: father last year on March second, and it was just
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: before COVID. We managed to have a celebration of life
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: before all the lockdowns happen and everything like that. And
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: my wife Nancy absolutely amazing person, her family, my family,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: everybody was amazing. But there's that period of time I'm
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: when my father passed that I was just like feeling
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: in a funk. I didn't know how to react. Should
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: I be really emotional? Sometimes I felt almost like blank.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: I don't know how to really describe. I just felt
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: like I was zonked out. I wasn't one hundred percent there.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: And then it hit me at certain points here and
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: there and my Cake. I started watching Scrubs over again
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: right when your podcast started coming out. I was rewatching
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: it with everybody, and I would, you know, I would
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: kind of just spinge it through and I would always
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: get to my Cake, and my Cake is just such
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: a beautiful episode with you know, John Ritter not being
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: there here anymore, and Zach your portrayal where all of
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: a sudden everything hits you was just so I could
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: feel that moment in my life and everybody being supportive
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: and everything, and I knew really had to say it.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Besides just it was such a huge part of me
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: being able to start laughing again. You know, the podcast
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: was doing everything to help me start laughing smiling again.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: I'm not gonna, you know, say anything or not going
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: to downplay how important my wife and her family and
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: my family were for this, but you guys were also
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: huge for it. I wouldn't say it's life changing. I
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: would say it's more life healing for me. And I
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: just want to thank you guys so much for this
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: past year of wonderful podcasts, wonderful content. I love it
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: when you guys go over an hour and a half
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: because it's I can feel the warmth in your camaraderie
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: and everything. And I just wanted to thank you guys
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: so much because it's been so big for me. And Wayne,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: Thank you, Wayne, thank you. That's very sweet of you. Wayne.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you Wayne. You make me feel good
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: by saying by saying thanks, Yeah, I'm sorry, and I'm
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: sorry it's a it's a you. We're a healing I'm
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: sorry that we're a healing mechanism, but I'm also happy
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: that we can help you heal. Man. Uh it's uh
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I you know, you know this episode messes with me too,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: uh in in a lot of ways. Uh. As a
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: matter of fact, I even I even tried to get
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: out of recording the day after watching the episode. That's
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: why you were trying to get out of it? Yeah, man,
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: it just felt like it felt it just you know,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: I don't know, man, it there are a lot of
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: things that are going on in life right now when
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: and a lot of people are losing loved ones, and
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: a lot of it's coming unexpectedly, you know, and people
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: aren't given the chance to say goodbye. And you know,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: watching this episode, you know I've lost I've lost family
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: members to COVID, I've lost you know, friends to COVID.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: And this this one kind of it affected me. It
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: made it, you know, it made me. It depressed me
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: a little. And you know, it's an interesting thing about
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: this episode is that you when else is an actor
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: ever playing something that's fictional but is real in that
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: John had just died that week, and I think we're
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: all we like the stupor you mentioned, which anyone who's
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: lost someone close to them can relate to. It's like,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: you're not you're not you're not really ready for grief
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: yet you're just kind of like walking around in a cloud.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: And we then went into this episode about grief and
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: losing someone with with with the with the chills still
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: in our bones from holy shit John died. So I
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: think we were able to give it something special and
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: I'm really glad it resonated with you. I do feel it,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: as we've talked about even before you came on the show.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: The episode itself is a bit scattered and and and
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: odd in places because Bill literally had to scramble and
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: rewrite the whole episode like on a Sunday night. Yeah,
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: and it showed like like the B and C stories
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: were really funny and everything like that, but a story
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: was where mostly emotion was and it kind of, I mean,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: it felt a little bit jumbled, but at the same time,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: it's just life is jumble like that sometimes. So it
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: just felt like it just felt it didn't feel like
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: it was rushed. It felt like it was really well
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: written considering the circumstances and life is chaos like that,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: so it resonated with me with that, Well, I'm so
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: happy that you're that you have people around you. I'm
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: so glad we could help, but also that you're You're
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: so blessed to have a wife you love and a
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: support system because getting through these times, particularly death, I've
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: had so much in my life of late, and not
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: to circle it all back to Scrubs, but I guess
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: that's why we're here. It really is about the people
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: around you and not not being able to do it
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: all on your own. And if Donald and I and
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Joel played even a microscopic part in you feeling better,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: we're very, very very honored. Thank you absolutely, since Daniel's
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: not here, will say you honor us in his in
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: his honor. Yes, now you guys are you guys are
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: amazing and I look forward to more and I'm just
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: a huge fan. I'm so thankful for everything you guys do. Well,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: thank you? Are you watching one division? Oh my gosh,
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: I haven't watched the recent episode. I'm I I'm gonna
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: probably watch that little related tonight when my wife comes.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Enjoy it. Man, I can't wait watch I'm gonna we're
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: gonna watch that, uh that that new one too, because
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: we watch. Have you guys watched Framing Brittany. Yeah, that's
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: also the list. I just saw some of the news
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: that came out there was like, basically, nothing happens unless
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: you do a documentary for it. I'm gonna tell you
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: something right now. You can see it. Just look at
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: her eyes from the beginning to the end. That's all
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna say. Just all right, no spoilers, no spoilers.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: I don't want to know anything about it. All right,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: that's the show, Wayne, you can stay on. I think
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: we've we've said everything right Donaldton. The only thing I
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: didn't understand is why are we wearing hockey jersey's watching
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: a football game. I don't know. I don't understand. That
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: was very confusing that. I also want to shout out
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: Tom Kavanaugh on a great pret fall he does in
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: the bathroom where you can only see his face and
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: part of his body, and he literally looks like he
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: squeezes in between camera and a wall to make that
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: pret fall work. Shout out Tom Kavanaugh on a great
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: pret Tom nice fall. So I think that the hockey team.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: Johnny was friends with one of the hockey players. He
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: likes the Detroit Red Wings. Yeah, I think he really
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: likes the Detroit Red Wings because he was friends. Johnny
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: had like hockey player friends. I think one of his
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: friends was on the team. Bill would tell us who
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: it is, but I don't know who it is. And
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: I'm assuming we're watching college football because that's all they
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: could license. I'm assuming that shit looked like that shit
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: looked like freaking flag football. I'm gonna keep it one.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: Maybe we couldn't even maybe we couldn't even license college football,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: but I just didn't. It was a bit incongruous, if
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: you will, and I intongruous. How do you say that, Wayne,
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: You're smart, incongruous or incongruous incongruous? I think, thank you.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna say one last thing. I think
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Turk should have been there at the end. I think, yes,
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: Donald didn't like the Turk wasn't there, and I agree,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: and I agree. We Wayne before he came out, and
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: I said, why do you think he wasn't there? And
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: he said, because he has diabetes. I don't. We made
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: a strict rule the only the only thing I asked
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: for my friend hang out to help me with my
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: grief is no one with diabetes two in the room.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: All right, everybody, we'll be back on Thursday. Sorry, I
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: had to thank Thursday with a new show. Don't forget
