- 1:07Speaker 1: I guess from a musical background. So my mom and
- 1:09Speaker 1: dad they both did music. They were in the band together.
- 1:13Speaker 1: My father was He was in a group called Silver
- 1:17Speaker 1: Platinum along with Michael Sterling who did Lovers and Friends
- 1:20Speaker 1: record and all those records and stuff like that. So
- 1:22Speaker 1: I've just been around, you know, music my whole life.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Your dad a singer, he plays the keys and he's
- 1:28Speaker 1: a songwriter. He's a composer. My mom she's a singer.
- 1:31Speaker 4: How long?
- 1:32Speaker 1: How long have you been singing? Since I was nine?
- 1:34Speaker 3: When did you know? When did you know? Like, oh damn,
- 1:37Speaker 3: I could actually sing when I was nine? So, like
- 1:39Speaker 3: what happened? Do you remember, like did you just start staying?
- 1:43Speaker 1: The first song I started singing was I would never
- 1:45Speaker 1: lie by immature. I was just like trying to be
- 1:47Speaker 1: like immature. And then my uncle heard me in the shower.
- 1:51Speaker 1: He was like, yo, I had me sing for my mom.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Then they put me in the talent show. I won
- 1:57Speaker 1: first place, and ever since then, I've been a singer.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Did your dad started forming you guys together with you
- 2:02Speaker 1: and your brother?
- 2:02Speaker 4: Nah?
- 2:03Speaker 1: Nah? My my dad wasn't pretty much in a picture
- 2:05Speaker 1: like that, you know, okay, but you know we were
- 2:08Speaker 1: still from time to time. Now, was your name always pleasure? P?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Nah?
- 2:11Speaker 4: No? No?
- 2:12Speaker 1: So what was your first So my first artist name
- 2:15Speaker 1: was pretty Boy. So if you ever listen to ground
- 2:17Speaker 1: on Me, you'll hear Baby Blue say pretty Ricky, pretty
- 2:20Speaker 1: boy doing pretty good things. I was pretty boy back then.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And then I was like, nah, man, we gotta do
- 2:25Speaker 1: something different. Your voice give for women pleasure, you know
- 2:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So you know what, let's start there.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And then guys called me peace, so it's pleasure and
- 2:32Speaker 1: Pete who said that? Just ladies and you know everybody.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It was like a group decisions, gotcha?
- 2:38Speaker 5: So back up? Okay, so you said you were not
- 2:41Speaker 5: doing music, and you know you grew up in that.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Where did pretty Ricky come? Did you grow up with
- 2:47Speaker 5: those guys?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Or oh no, no not so along my journey, I
- 2:53Speaker 1: was bad as a you know, juvenile, so I went
- 2:57Speaker 1: to a juvenile prison. I wrote a lot of songs
- 3:01Speaker 1: in there, like Shorty, would you be mine Field? The
- 3:05Speaker 1: rush Age Ain't nothing but a number of stuff like that.
- 3:08Speaker 1: When I got out, I was looking for a you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: for for a label, and I was shopping my stuff everywhere.
- 3:17Speaker 1: People kind of like knew the songs when I was
- 3:19Speaker 1: in school and stuff like that. I would, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 1: hand out my demos and stuff like that. And I
- 3:24Speaker 1: ran into their father and he had a record label,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and I was like, the father, who's father Baby Blue Spectacular? Yeah?
- 3:30Speaker 1: They father his name Blue Blue Star. It's not an
- 3:33Speaker 1: album name. After So ran into them out of talent
- 3:36Speaker 1: show and it was like, yo, man, you gotta come
- 3:39Speaker 1: to the studio, whatever the case will be. Went to
- 3:41Speaker 1: the studio and the first song we recorded was grind
- 3:44Speaker 1: on Me. And ever since then, I was in the group.
- 3:46Speaker 5: When is Slickham come in the group? Was he already
- 3:47Speaker 5: in the group?
- 3:48Speaker 1: It was already a group called the Mavericks. Okay, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: then you came.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Okay, so Pretty Ricky and the Mavericks. So where did
- 3:53Speaker 5: pretty Ricky come from? Did you bring that to the table?
- 3:56Speaker 1: So Pretty Ricky was, well, okay, he's a he's like
- 4:00Speaker 1: our older brother. His name is well he was pretty
- 4:04Speaker 1: Ricky and him and him and the father got into it.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It was like, I put too much money in the name.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You know what, We're gonna name the whole group Pretty
- 4:10Speaker 1: Ricky so that people think that there's one person, but
- 4:13Speaker 1: then when they find out it's a different, you know, individual,
- 4:16Speaker 1: they become more interested in Did you like that? Did
- 4:19Speaker 1: y'all agree with that?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it was cool with so grind on Me was
- 4:22Speaker 4: the first record that y'all recorded together.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Let me tell you some Blue Star classic album Like, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 5: I agree. You said you wrote shorty would You be Mine?
- 4:33Speaker 5: Classic song?
- 4:34Speaker 1: He wrote, I wrote all those.
- 4:36Speaker 5: So wrote all the songs. How was that process? Did
- 4:39Speaker 5: you have them then you came in with that?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Or well some songs I had already and some songs
- 4:44Speaker 1: we just kind of.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Wrote on the spot, you know, and I wonder why
- 4:48Speaker 4: they signed you and will be in the room or.
- 4:51Speaker 1: We just feed off each other.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Static Major like that? Yeah, Static Major is a heavy hitter.
- 4:57Speaker 5: What was a heavy heavy hitter you know, responsible for
- 4:59Speaker 5: like like you know the rock, the boats, Aliyah's sound
- 5:04Speaker 5: very you know with that album. You got that nostalgia
- 5:08Speaker 5: with that. That was classic album. I love that album.
- 5:10Speaker 1: At first, it was like baby Blue and me recorded
- 5:14Speaker 1: like for a week. It took us to record ground
- 5:16Speaker 1: on Me because it was just he was he was
- 5:18Speaker 1: the engineer and it was just me and him like
- 5:21Speaker 1: Batman and Robin and there, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And then once we got signed, and that's when everybody
- 5:25Speaker 1: else came up. Pretty much before we got signed. We
- 5:28Speaker 1: pretty much had a lot of the songs already done
- 5:31Speaker 1: and completed.
- 5:32Speaker 3: When the album came out, did you guys believe that
- 5:35Speaker 3: it was going to be received as well as it
- 5:38Speaker 3: as it did?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we already knew it. Y'all new y'all was gonna
- 5:41Speaker 1: be stars. We was already running, like we would do
- 5:43Speaker 1: performances and stuff like that. We was already running from
- 5:46Speaker 1: girls and they'll come beating on our windows, and you know,
- 5:49Speaker 1: like we kind of seen the transition, you know, So
- 5:52Speaker 1: y'all was like local stars already. Pretty much.
- 5:55Speaker 3: It was a lot of videos of guys doing the
- 5:56Speaker 3: little dances and humping the ground and humping the beds.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Now, that was guys music at that time.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You had to be two K.
- 6:03Speaker 5: But when Pretty Ricky came, you guys were young, and
- 6:06Speaker 5: you guys were talking about, you know, the kind of content.
- 6:09Speaker 5: You guys were.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Talking talking about sex.
- 6:11Speaker 5: And being the only I didn't hear too many like
- 6:14Speaker 5: young artists doing that, like you had B two K.
- 6:17Speaker 5: But they were like teetering the line.
- 6:19Speaker 1: They were very buttoned up. That's what we did at home,
- 6:21Speaker 1: Like what is that? What else is that to do?
- 6:23Speaker 1: What do you do in high school? And because some
- 6:25Speaker 1: people used to find it. That's the movies. You go
- 6:30Speaker 1: you take a girl to the beach or something like,
- 6:32Speaker 1: you know, just whatever. It's just like, that's what we did.
- 6:35Speaker 6: We'll be right by. Stay tuned with more of The
- 6:37Speaker 6: Baller Alert Show. You're listening to a special edition of
- 6:44Speaker 6: The Baller Alert.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Show with up is your man Pleasure Pete and you
- 6:47Speaker 1: would now tune into the ball Alert Show. But then
- 6:49Speaker 1: Pleasure p started making solo records. Well, we was a
- 6:53Speaker 1: group and everything was going good. In the middle of
- 6:57Speaker 1: let me see the middle of I want to say,
- 7:00Speaker 1: the Late Night Special album, that's another classic. That's when
- 7:04Speaker 1: things got a little. Egos started flying and amongst each other,
- 7:08Speaker 1: people taking credit for other people work, and it was
- 7:11Speaker 1: a lot going on. And I just wanted my money man,
- 7:15Speaker 1: to be honest. I was like, you know, I stepped
- 7:17Speaker 1: to their father and I say, yo, man, I want
- 7:19Speaker 1: to separate my money because we would be so busy
- 7:21Speaker 1: on the road. We don't have time to spend, no money, nothing.
- 7:24Speaker 1: But when you get home, it's like you got to
- 7:26Speaker 1: stay in the house. You can't do this, you can't
- 7:27Speaker 1: do that. It's controlling controller and controller. I'm a grown
- 7:31Speaker 1: man from the streets. I got a kid on my
- 7:32Speaker 1: own at the time, I got family to to take
- 7:35Speaker 1: care of. So I said, I want to separate my
- 7:37Speaker 1: money and I want my own place. And he said,
- 7:41Speaker 1: you ain't got no money. I said what I said, say, yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you ain't got no money. That get costs for this that.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So they gave me an itemized list of because we
- 7:49Speaker 1: all lived in one house. So if this was a cup,
- 7:52Speaker 1: he charged me one hundred dollars for this, This was
- 7:54Speaker 1: a fork, two hundred dollars for that. It was itemized.
- 7:57Speaker 1: This was some bulls show. It was on some Don
- 7:59Speaker 1: Cheetah type some bullshit.
- 8:02Speaker 5: In a house in Miami.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, the same house you're seeing on Cribs.
- 8:05Speaker 1: If you ever seen Cribs, remember I remember the same house.
- 8:08Speaker 1: What was your reply to that? When he was itemizing everything,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I know you got you frustrated? Yeah, I was hot.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I was like, well damn well. You know then we
- 8:16Speaker 1: had signed the contract because he was like, you know, boy, Atlantic,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I need you all to sign this man because you know,
- 8:21Speaker 1: we just that's that's the that's the old genius. Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: because I'll trust him. Yeah, he a street nigga. You know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: we never you know, he gave us the opportunity he
- 8:30Speaker 1: want to put up the money. To this day, I
- 8:31Speaker 1: still think him for that, but he you know, he
- 8:34Speaker 1: was wrong.
- 8:35Speaker 5: How long was the contract? How long was it?
- 8:38Speaker 1: I think it was like five albums or something like that.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Album that's that standard that was kind of standing back
- 8:42Speaker 4: in the five album.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But the what the unfair part was? You know, he
- 8:47Speaker 1: was a part of our records, you know, like I said,
- 8:49Speaker 1: so let's say four of us wrote the record. He's
- 8:53Speaker 1: number five on the record. You know, five on the record,
- 8:55Speaker 1: so you know, because he put his money up. And
- 8:57Speaker 1: then you know, he owned half of the publishing. So
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, It's like, damn, they own
- 9:03Speaker 1: half the master. Then this, you know what I'm saying.
- 9:05Speaker 4: And then then it's four of y'all in this of
- 9:07Speaker 4: us already, so now it's five y'all. Y'all got to
- 9:10Speaker 4: split the money five different ways. We didn't get to
- 9:12Speaker 4: split none. He took one hundred percent of everything and
- 9:15Speaker 4: then pay y'all. No, we ain't never get paid. I
- 9:17Speaker 4: ain't never get paid from him.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So wait you wait, so it never got paid? Nah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: we aint know no better, bro, get get a B
- 9:25Speaker 1: in my check, he sign the back. What make sure
- 9:28Speaker 1: y'all wanty straight? What make sure y'all you know all
- 9:30Speaker 1: your y'all's gonna blow it?
- 9:31Speaker 5: How old were you guys?
- 9:33Speaker 1: I was in my early twenties. I was like twenty.
- 9:37Speaker 5: But you guys were living a life that was different
- 9:41Speaker 5: from where you came from. So is that why you
- 9:43Speaker 5: guys did not question anything?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yes, So they lived in the suburbs I come, you
- 9:46Speaker 1: know hood, you know what I'm saying. So he wanted
- 9:50Speaker 1: all of us. His excuse was he wanted all of
- 9:52Speaker 1: us death so that if we get a call and
- 9:53Speaker 1: gotta do something, we gotta go get one from over here.
- 9:56Speaker 1: So we just kind of it was like a frat
- 9:58Speaker 1: house almost, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:00Speaker 5: So when you got this information in the itemized list,
- 10:03Speaker 5: kind of like when you woke up a little bit,
- 10:05Speaker 5: kind of like ice Cube did in n WA.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I was ice Cube, did you.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Go back and tell your other group members?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yes? I did. I did. I had a conversation with them,
- 10:12Speaker 1: but they couldn't as they followed, so they couldn't understand
- 10:16Speaker 1: it at the time. So it's a tension between us
- 10:21Speaker 1: and then at that time I was doing records with like,
- 10:24Speaker 1: I had a lot of street records, so I had
- 10:27Speaker 1: to get you up with plies. That's my favor. When
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yo Gotti I had released Prostitute, Wayne wanted to sign me.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So I was around wayning them all the time, and
- 10:36Speaker 1: I just kind of just stayed on the road. Did Jeroons.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I put that out and that became Top twenty, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: you know, I did that independently, and then from then on.
- 10:46Speaker 5: It was just like at this point there's has to
- 10:49Speaker 5: be tensions in the era. When you going back to
- 10:52Speaker 5: these guys and telling them what you've learned, they're not
- 10:54Speaker 5: believing you or they're they're so you know, they're very
- 10:57Speaker 5: protective over their father. What what happens next? Like how
- 11:01Speaker 5: do you get out of this?
- 11:02Speaker 1: I listen, I didn't even know what was going to
- 11:04Speaker 1: happen next. I ain't, you know. But my the type
- 11:06Speaker 1: of person if I'm unhappy about something, why would anybody
- 11:09Speaker 1: leave something successful? What I'm saying, like, come on, bro,
- 11:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So after that it was
- 11:15Speaker 1: just like you know what, bro, Like we stopped talking
- 11:18Speaker 1: really and I went my way, so you just left
- 11:23Speaker 1: they went, So I didn't want to be solo. I said.
- 11:25Speaker 1: All I said to them is, you know, I sat
- 11:28Speaker 1: down with Baby Blue in the studio and I said, bro,
- 11:30Speaker 1: I ain't leaving the group. I just want my own
- 11:32Speaker 1: place because we're around each other tenty four seven, Like
- 11:36Speaker 1: I'm even my own space as kid, Yeah, growing up,
- 11:40Speaker 1: growing up. Yeah, I don't want to run train some
- 11:43Speaker 1: girls no more. I want my Oh. I don't want
- 11:45Speaker 1: to slick. I don't want to I'm nothing's enough right now,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 11:54Speaker 4: What all.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I was gonna say, it had to be a life
- 11:57Speaker 3: for you because you had a lot of success with them,
- 11:59Speaker 3: but you had a lot of success on your feature game.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Your future game was crazy. Yeah, the crazy thing about
- 12:06Speaker 1: it he was turning down the features. So, like, let's say,
- 12:08Speaker 1: bird Man got me on a song called Bossy right,
- 12:11Speaker 1: it was only on his album, and he said one
- 12:14Speaker 1: hundred and fifty grand if you're gonna pay it, you're
- 12:16Speaker 1: gonna pay it. Not I gonna make him say no,
- 12:18Speaker 1: And that was would you get the money though for
- 12:20Speaker 1: the feature? No? Man, that's even sad.
- 12:23Speaker 4: So he so he was kind of like suppressing, like
- 12:26Speaker 4: your career, Yeah.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Sending let us to radio stations tell him not to
- 12:31Speaker 1: play my songs because because I'm signed to them.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Like, oh, kind of, that's what I was gonna say.
- 12:36Speaker 5: It couldn't you couldn't just leave.
- 12:38Speaker 1: No, Oh, I had to go through a whole litigation.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And this was like death row. It was. It was
- 12:43Speaker 1: like death from minus the ass whooping because ain't nobody
- 12:45Speaker 1: wouldn't nobody put their hands on me?
- 12:47Speaker 5: But how did you get away? Like because you couldn't
- 12:51Speaker 5: just leave?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Oh? So I ran into Brian McKinney. He's a football player.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He had just you know, signed like a seventy million
- 12:57Speaker 1: dollar deal with the Vikings. Play he play from? He
- 13:00Speaker 1: puts Miami Hurricane. Yeah, we played from yep. So we
- 13:02Speaker 1: started a record label called Swagger Entertainment. So I told
- 13:05Speaker 1: him what I was going through, and he was like, okay,
- 13:08Speaker 1: seventy thousand, let's get the lawyer if he popping whatever
- 13:11Speaker 1: you need. It was just like whatever I needed. So
- 13:13Speaker 1: he bought you out of your contract? Yeah he did. Damn.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Okay, so you get out your deal and yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 1: We go through this litigation and all this kind of stuff,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and they were now going around saying, yeah, he signed
- 13:26Speaker 1: to us, so whatever he makes and I'm like, bro,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I put this record out top twenty, and you know
- 13:31Speaker 1: I did all the work myself. So boyfriend number two,
- 13:35Speaker 1: what are you talking about? You did you room? This
- 13:37Speaker 1: is okay? So then it's like he was with him
- 13:42Speaker 1: to settle, you know, settle out of the suit. I
- 13:46Speaker 1: was like getting so much money at the time. I
- 13:48Speaker 1: was like, you know what, if it wasn't for him,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I wouldn't be here. So you know what, he go
- 13:53Speaker 1: five hundred thousand, you go, gave me five hundred thousand,
- 13:57Speaker 1: you go your way, I go out. So I started
- 13:59Speaker 1: off a million dollar debt with my first album just
- 14:02Speaker 1: off of the recording, giving him that you know what
- 14:05Speaker 1: I'm saying, and now everything that comes with it, marketing
- 14:07Speaker 1: and promotions and stuff like that. You know.
- 14:10Speaker 4: So so that your football home and he sent them
- 14:13Speaker 4: that money or was that with the net.
- 14:15Speaker 1: That came from the label? Came from the label? Once
- 14:17Speaker 1: you know, he agreed to settlement, it was part of
- 14:20Speaker 1: the settlement.
- 14:20Speaker 3: But now you're in the whole million dollars. Yeah, so
- 14:24Speaker 3: now you got to really get to get back in.
- 14:26Speaker 3: So now I did you wrong? It is out?
- 14:29Speaker 1: When does boyfriend number two come out?
- 14:31Speaker 6: Right?
- 14:31Speaker 4: After that that, so boyfriend number two comes out and
- 14:35Speaker 4: Scott rockets number one and I know and I know
- 14:38Speaker 4: He's like, damn now, so now how how the past is?
- 14:43Speaker 1: They put out their record right, and then the next
- 14:46Speaker 1: six months I put out my record, So they got
- 14:48Speaker 1: their time to put out their record right. And during
- 14:53Speaker 1: the process of us uh you know, doing the litigation thing,
- 14:59Speaker 1: you know, they ended up well he will the dad
- 15:02Speaker 1: what is it called? He tried to uh depose to
- 15:06Speaker 1: see all of Atlantic records after they gave him all
- 15:09Speaker 1: this money to do. He was winning, Like I, Bro,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I couldn't even like one day, bro, I swould have
- 15:14Speaker 1: got we were we was doing, we was doing. We're
- 15:20Speaker 1: supposed to go to London and y'all I'm like, bro,
- 15:23Speaker 1: my rent do? It's like it's round this time, my
- 15:26Speaker 1: rent do? I gotta you know, pay my rent. He
- 15:28Speaker 1: never gave me the money from the shows that we
- 15:31Speaker 1: did or whatever the case may be. I need my money.
- 15:33Speaker 1: He ain't give me the money, so I ain't making
- 15:35Speaker 1: the flight. So that the label calls, hey, why didn't
- 15:39Speaker 1: you make the flight? And I told him why. They
- 15:41Speaker 1: say how much your rent is? I say, twelve hundred dollars.
- 15:45Speaker 1: That's all. Come on, you're platinum, you play you got
- 15:51Speaker 1: a platinum group. Now platinum we arguing on like when
- 15:54Speaker 1: you really look at it, bro, like our ridiculous? Is that? Bro?
- 15:58Speaker 4: So the label not even knowing what really going up
- 16:00Speaker 4: when they find out, they're like this man, this man
- 16:03Speaker 4: off his ship.
- 16:05Speaker 1: He said twelve.
- 16:07Speaker 3: I know you mentally got to be frustrated because my
- 16:10Speaker 3: nigga ego.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And stuff like that was just starting to change everybody.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's when I learned everybody candle handle fame and start
- 16:18Speaker 1: because y'all superstars at this point right where then were
- 16:21Speaker 1: supposed to be arguing recognition everywhere. You did everything we're
- 16:24Speaker 1: supposed to do, made the right songs, did the right performances,
- 16:26Speaker 1: did the interviews, you know for cities in one day.
- 16:29Speaker 1: We did everything that were supposed to do. Brother to
- 16:31Speaker 1: what that was to me, that would that would be
- 16:34Speaker 1: my only issue. But outside of that, he's not a
- 16:38Speaker 1: bad guy. He was just you know, everybody makes mistakes,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and he was making his transition into you know, when
- 16:46Speaker 1: does Pleasure Piece start making money and when are you
- 16:48Speaker 1: in the green? I'm already making money at at digit
- 16:53Speaker 1: Wrung and stuff like that because I'm hot in the streets,
- 16:56Speaker 1: so I would just Yo, I'm on every show with
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yo Gotti Live. I'm the only R and B singer
- 17:02Speaker 1: on these tours and stuff like that. So that's what
- 17:04Speaker 1: made them like like the label, you know, back me,
- 17:07Speaker 1: like oh, so they put out they record, it flopped,
- 17:12Speaker 1: and then my record came out and it was like
- 17:14Speaker 1: a competition. I wasn't in competition with nobody, but people
- 17:18Speaker 1: was in competition with me.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Because then they replace you.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just about to say that.
- 17:22Speaker 4: I think that was the big confusion, and I think
- 17:24Speaker 4: that's what really costs you know, they records are kind
- 17:28Speaker 4: of not do well because it was like a random guy.
- 17:31Speaker 5: It was to replacement. Yeah, yeah, it was. But what
- 17:34Speaker 5: they couldn't replace was your songwriting.
- 17:36Speaker 1: My sound, Yeah, because the group was about the sound
- 17:40Speaker 1: and the group was about the kind of songs. So
- 17:42Speaker 1: when they dropped that album, you can see the difference
- 17:44Speaker 1: between the two and them when I come out with
- 17:46Speaker 1: my album, you can see the difference between you listen,
- 17:49Speaker 1: you can hear the difference between who did what. And
- 17:54Speaker 1: I think we was all confused as fans when we
- 17:56Speaker 1: was watching one O six in part and then this
- 17:58Speaker 1: random guy comes out saying, get in the group, Like, man,
- 18:01Speaker 1: who the hell is this? Man? If you do this,
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know, if you notice you watch one of six
- 18:05Speaker 1: in park at the you know during the I wouldn't
- 18:08Speaker 1: be saying nothing. I'll just be quiet. I just you know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: it'd be something like, you know, something happened before, like before,
- 18:15Speaker 1: so I just don't even want to be there, but
- 18:17Speaker 1: I was there.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I respect the way that you handle your business because
- 18:21Speaker 5: you know how great, good and creative that you are,
- 18:25Speaker 5: but you like just kind of like let people who
- 18:27Speaker 5: want to act out do that, but you go handle
- 18:30Speaker 5: your business like it's not. It's kind of like a
- 18:31Speaker 5: jay Z type of thing, like people around him want
- 18:35Speaker 5: that shine and he just let him do it. But
- 18:37Speaker 5: then he goes and does like a big deal. Now,
- 18:40Speaker 5: speaking of big deals, what was the deal with uh
- 18:43Speaker 5: that you had got when you went to the label
- 18:46Speaker 5: when it was just you and your label? Was that
- 18:48Speaker 5: What was that deal? Like did they get fifty percent
- 18:50Speaker 5: of your publishing or no?
- 18:51Speaker 1: You know what I did to deal with Wanna Chapel,
- 18:53Speaker 1: So a matter of fact, it was it was a
- 18:56Speaker 1: continuation kind of deal from what he did. You know, Okay,
- 19:00Speaker 1: and it was. It was you know, it was a
- 19:02Speaker 1: regular publishing deal. But I wrote songs like Lollipop and
- 19:06Speaker 1: other songs like you know, wild ones for Florider and
- 19:09Speaker 1: a lot of people don't know you wrote Lollipop other
- 19:11Speaker 1: songs like that. That kind of saved me too.
- 19:14Speaker 5: How did you get that? It was your relationship with
- 19:16Speaker 5: Static got you that? Mean?
- 19:19Speaker 1: Static was working on my album. Lollipop was actually my
- 19:22Speaker 1: record first, you know, me and Static wrote it together.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Came from you know, one of uh one of them
- 19:30Speaker 1: nights at the club, messing around in the studio and
- 19:33Speaker 1: stuff like that, and then we recorded it. But I
- 19:36Speaker 1: just I just didn't feel it fit. Same beat for
- 19:39Speaker 1: the album, yeah, same same beat.
- 19:41Speaker 4: So y'all went to the studio list said she want
- 19:43Speaker 4: to lick me like a lollipop.
- 19:46Speaker 5: So you wrote the whole song or just a hook.
- 19:49Speaker 1: There's certain elements of the song that's that that that
- 19:52Speaker 1: I wrote that's still in there, But Wayne, I obviously
- 19:54Speaker 1: did what it needed to.
- 19:55Speaker 3: You know, is your vocals on there, like miss show
- 19:58Speaker 3: do you want to fuzz?
- 20:00Speaker 1: That's all Static Static on that part.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Why do artists not want people to know that they
- 20:05Speaker 4: have songwriters?
- 20:06Speaker 1: Because people be fucking with us, bro, like you will
- 20:08Speaker 1: be fire like. Bro. The more the more I stopped
- 20:10Speaker 1: the way, the more peaceful my life is. Bro. I
- 20:13Speaker 1: swear to God, he would just be doing stupid stuff
- 20:16Speaker 1: out of nowhere, just fucking with it for no reason though.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I just I don't want to be bothered. You know
- 20:22Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Just leave me alone.
- 20:24Speaker 5: And that's what I meant staying out the way. You
- 20:26Speaker 5: just do your business and stay out that way.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Shit, I don't need to brag. My bank account will
- 20:31Speaker 1: tell me what it is, but the people around me
- 20:34Speaker 1: that those are the people that I love and care about.
- 20:36Speaker 1: So I'm I'm I'm happy with that, Bro. I don't
- 20:39Speaker 1: need no flowers from everybody else.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Well you got your flowers of that versus though, because
- 20:43Speaker 3: I feel like that was your moment to shine. That
- 20:45Speaker 3: was the moment, like you already had your moments. I
- 20:48Speaker 3: feel like people respect you and respect your craft. You
- 20:51Speaker 3: are legend to me. Uh But I felt like when
- 20:53Speaker 3: I watched that versus. I don't really watched it because
- 20:55Speaker 3: Sammy's my guy and I'm a fan of yours, but
- 20:58Speaker 3: I really we have we had one element that went
- 21:02Speaker 3: a little left, but you were really shining that night.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Things.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Bro, what happened to rs VP?
- 21:09Speaker 1: Nothing? We're still working.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought y'all was coming out with an album videos.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It was, and to Sammy dropped the tour and the
- 21:16Speaker 1: damn uh uh. You know he dropped the tour in
- 21:20Speaker 1: the album and a single out of nowhere, So we
- 21:23Speaker 1: kind of just pushed it back a little longer. So
- 21:25Speaker 1: now so now I'm dropping my you know single now
- 21:30Speaker 1: called you know what I'm saying, and dropped you know
- 21:33Speaker 1: this tour. I'm on tour Mario or Neo starting September
- 21:36Speaker 1: the night. Now that's gonna be crazy, you know, Champagne
- 21:39Speaker 1: and roll this tour. That's a big deal. After that,
- 21:42Speaker 1: maybe we can get back to what we additionally started
- 21:44Speaker 1: to do.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Now. So w y'all doing everything out a spike because
- 21:47Speaker 4: Sammy dropped it and now you're like.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Okay, you want to do this. I'm about to go
- 21:50Speaker 1: on my own tour now.
- 21:52Speaker 6: Nah.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Actually no, And I'm gonna tell you the craziest thing
- 21:54Speaker 1: that happened. So like maybe what a week or two ago,
- 21:59Speaker 1: I was in the house sleep matter of fact, I
- 22:01Speaker 1: was a matter of fact, I went to strokers. I
- 22:03Speaker 1: was a Stroker by the way, Yeah, Strip Club. I
- 22:07Speaker 1: was at Strokers and we were celebrating John silver birthday.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So new Yo's there, everybody there in his room and
- 22:14Speaker 1: it's like, Yo, what you got coming up? Said man,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I'm just about to drop this new stuff in whatever whatever, all,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you a car, got it? I got
- 22:20Speaker 1: something for you, you know what I'm saying. So then I
- 22:24Speaker 1: go home, I go to sleep, and I wake up
- 22:27Speaker 1: to a fire alarm going up. So I look around
- 22:30Speaker 1: and smoke everywhere, smoke everywhere. So I jump up, I
- 22:33Speaker 1: want the fuck, what the fuck? Looking for my phone,
- 22:35Speaker 1: grab my phone and I run out of my room
- 22:38Speaker 1: and I look and it's coming from down like downstairs.
- 22:42Speaker 1: So I run out of the you know, run out
- 22:44Speaker 1: of the house, go to the back. The whole basement
- 22:47Speaker 1: is on fire. I'm like, wow, I call nine one.
- 22:50Speaker 1: That is an uncontrollable fire. Call nine one one. Ambulance
- 22:54Speaker 1: everybody come, you know. And as soon as I plug
- 22:58Speaker 1: my phone up and get in the car, water ambulance.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Everybody there. Yo, you want to do this tour? That's
- 23:04Speaker 1: what we got. And I just booked the torches like that,
- 23:09Speaker 1: So it wasn't not a Spikee. It's just when you do.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I don't know that. I don't know.
- 23:13Speaker 5: God just I don't know who started the fire.
- 23:17Speaker 1: It was. It wasn't nobody that started fighting because I
- 23:20Speaker 1: was the only person home. But it was like an
- 23:22Speaker 1: electrical problem. It was like a very very hot that
- 23:26Speaker 1: day and something just everyone good, let outside, just call
- 23:30Speaker 1: on fire.
- 23:30Speaker 5: It's very random.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Is your house okay? Now, I don't know. I haven't
- 23:35Speaker 1: been there.
- 23:36Speaker 6: We'll be right back with more of the Baller Alert Show.
- 23:42Speaker 6: You're listening to a special edition of the Baller Alert Show.
- 23:45Speaker 1: What Up is your Man? Pleasure? Pete? And you were
- 23:47Speaker 1: now tuned into the ball Alert Show.
- 23:49Speaker 3: So when ray J was hitting them notes, man, what
- 23:52Speaker 3: were you doing and how were you feeling?
- 23:54Speaker 1: I was backing them up. That's my brother, man, he
- 23:57Speaker 1: was backing them up. You had to kind of way.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I mean, I did say what I said. I said
- 24:02Speaker 1: the ungratefulness when he you know, was like it was
- 24:06Speaker 1: this in our help.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Yeah, you was a little aggressive during that battle too.
- 24:09Speaker 1: For me. You wanted to fight? No, I did. For me.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It's like they want R and B guys to be
- 24:17Speaker 1: a certain kind of way, but I'm not that I'm
- 24:18Speaker 1: just me.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I can tell that you was from South I could
- 24:21Speaker 3: tell that you was from the streets. How you was
- 24:23Speaker 3: conducting yourself doing uh the.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Football or basketball. It's a battle like it ain't we
- 24:29Speaker 1: coming to We come in to just be nice and me.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You got all the other little R and B people
- 24:36Speaker 1: commenting at the end, like, Bro, I don't speak on
- 24:38Speaker 1: nobody business like that, jog. You know what I'm saying, y'all, y'all,
- 24:43Speaker 1: donna lower your tone, dog and and tighten up, because
- 24:46Speaker 1: I tighten you up if I see you. You understand what
- 24:48Speaker 1: I'm saying. I thought you was. I thought you was
- 24:50Speaker 1: finn though. I felt like that, but then I'm like,
- 24:52Speaker 1: you know what, Bro, that's that's this new age thing.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I don't really speak on everybody shit. You know what
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'm saying, I don't do it. Yeah, that is the
- 24:58Speaker 1: new I was nervous for you, Bro, I thought you
- 25:00Speaker 1: was gonna get active on niggas trying. Yeah, they be
- 25:02Speaker 1: trying to, like I don't know, they be trying to
- 25:04Speaker 1: like this and be little and sneak this. And that's
- 25:07Speaker 1: that's one thing I hate about the like the business
- 25:09Speaker 1: like it's like you got a problem with me. That's
- 25:11Speaker 1: addressing you know what I'm saying. However you want to
- 25:13Speaker 1: dress it, that's just but they go behind your back
- 25:15Speaker 1: and sneaky bit ship.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Well, that's address you and fallon. Are you guys together?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Would you posted a picture with it? I can't post
- 25:25Speaker 1: a picture. But you said I was very intimate. I ain't.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I said, I want, I need more of you every moment. Yeah, okay,
- 25:32Speaker 1: I wanted you to say it.
- 25:34Speaker 5: What does that mean? Was that a lyric from your
- 25:36Speaker 5: new song Somewhere in the Distance.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yes, so she's in your video music video. It's a song.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Oh so you are galaxy.
- 25:45Speaker 4: He's your he's your lead in the song. Hashtag galaxy Galaxy.
- 25:50Speaker 4: You know I got I got a bunch of calls
- 25:51Speaker 4: about that too.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'm good at marketing, man, I'm very good at it.
- 25:54Speaker 4: You you definitely are, because there's a lot of people
- 25:56Speaker 4: calling me.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I think a lot of people sold into it. They've
- 25:59Speaker 1: been to It was a lyric and the new song
- 26:02Speaker 1: got it it said it said hashtag galaxy. She pushed it.
- 26:06Speaker 1: She supposed to say hashtag galaxy. I was stuck at
- 26:09Speaker 1: the picture. I didn't read all the way through.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Yeah, then she was on the show and she said
- 26:12Speaker 4: she had a new boyfriend. So everybody was a boxer.
- 26:15Speaker 5: He said he was a boxer, and he's a boxer.
- 26:17Speaker 1: You felt like she was lying. Yeah, yeah, I definitely
- 26:19Speaker 1: feel box do you I can fight, but on box
- 26:23Speaker 1: you're not an actor, right, no, no.
- 26:30Speaker 5: So it's safe to say that just to clear any
- 26:32Speaker 5: room or you and Fallon are not together as a no.
- 26:36Speaker 1: No no no no no. But somebody said they sing you know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. Yes, you may have seen me out
- 26:41Speaker 1: with it. That's like after the video shoot, we celebrating
- 26:43Speaker 1: having a good time. We're friends. Now it's looking like that.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I look like y'all got good chemistry. Though people think
- 26:48Speaker 1: we look good together, but you know me and her
- 26:51Speaker 1: went out together. We look good together two people, but
- 26:54Speaker 1: we can't have a drink after this facts. You know,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I got such your pleasure pe though. See that's a
- 27:00Speaker 1: that's a perception. But it's a couple of people that
- 27:02Speaker 1: were Martis Marcus coopbacks.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Wait, did any exis call you after you know that
- 27:07Speaker 4: picture of you founding with every lout of people called me? Man,
- 27:10Speaker 4: you you'd be surprised, like how people how people like
- 27:13Speaker 4: I won't tell you how they feel.
- 27:15Speaker 1: But when some ship go down they called you. It
- 27:18Speaker 1: shows you. Damn, what the fuck is this? Why what?
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's just a picture? Right? You could have called me
- 27:25Speaker 1: and yeah, everybody was calling me. I'm like, what the
- 27:29Speaker 1: hell I got to do with the picture? Bro? And
- 27:31Speaker 1: then and then, and in the fact, they was bashing her,
- 27:33Speaker 1: bro and saying all kind of stuff like this is
- 27:36Speaker 1: just crazy over a picture of a music video. And
- 27:40Speaker 1: then you got jailing under the fucking comments man, with
- 27:43Speaker 1: with this, with the laughing. What this got to do
- 27:45Speaker 1: with you? When I paid her for music? I paid
- 27:47Speaker 1: on my heart on money. What you tying yourself into
- 27:49Speaker 1: this fock? But they had none to do with you, bro,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and I and I think I think they know. And
- 27:55Speaker 1: you know, he knew it was a music video. Why
- 27:56Speaker 1: that man participating in the thin he was?
- 28:00Speaker 4: I think, you know, sometimes people getting their feelings tender.
- 28:03Speaker 5: He just wanted to let you know of obviously.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Man, you're running from show.
- 28:08Speaker 5: What did he say to you in person?
- 28:10Speaker 1: Huh?
- 28:10Speaker 5: What do you say to you?
- 28:11Speaker 1: I mean, what can't he say to me in person?
- 28:14Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? I just you know, I
- 28:17Speaker 1: just told him, man, it's a music video. He was like,
- 28:19Speaker 1: you ain't get my premis. I gotta get your a
- 28:21Speaker 1: mission to hire her for a music video. That money
- 28:25Speaker 1: put food in your daughter mouth. Look at it like that.
- 28:29Speaker 1: That's a good way to put it. But when usher
- 28:31Speaker 1: get Kicky Palmer for a video, they don't make a
- 28:33Speaker 1: big spectacle. I guess people care that much. You know
- 28:35Speaker 1: what I'm saying. They don't make it. They don't think
- 28:37Speaker 1: he fucking Kiky Palmer. I don't know.
- 28:40Speaker 5: He's been through a lot with Fallon, so he just probably,
- 28:43Speaker 5: you know, sensitive about seeing you guys together. He wanted
- 28:46Speaker 5: to so called check you.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Nah, I ain't nobody checking me about nothing. I'm growing
- 28:51Speaker 1: as man and it's nothing to check. It's just like
- 28:55Speaker 1: if you're an insecure man, you're an insecure man. That's
- 28:57Speaker 1: between you and your I wasn't in your bedroom. I
- 29:00Speaker 1: don't live with y'all. I wasn't part of your arguments.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I ain't got nothing to do with anything other than
- 29:05Speaker 1: here go the money for a music video. Hey, this
- 29:08Speaker 1: is my new single. Thanks for being a part of
- 29:09Speaker 1: my new single. Hey, that's how drinks? That's what? If
- 29:13Speaker 1: I see you out see some shots or something like that.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That's about it.
- 29:16Speaker 4: So it was nothing. It's just the Internet just kind
- 29:18Speaker 4: of blew that picture. Just a picture and the lyric
- 29:23Speaker 4: from from a song.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Let's talk about the record Galaxy.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Can we talk about it?
- 29:26Speaker 5: Where did the concept of that come from?
- 29:28Speaker 1: Well? Galaxy music is just a different sound of music
- 29:32Speaker 1: that I'm doing. And it's like music to where it's
- 29:37Speaker 1: not as raunchy, but it's just sexy. It's something to

- 33:23Speaker 4: I just I just you know.
- 33:24Speaker 1: What I like to see about the touring is people
- 33:26Speaker 1: still come out and and see us and stuff like that.
- 33:29Speaker 1: But the time away and all of that is like
- 33:32Speaker 1: after you get a certain agg It's like, man, I

- 34:11Speaker 1: little bullshit that came along with it, ain't got to
- 34:14Speaker 1: deal with it no more. You know. Of course, I
- 34:16Speaker 1: want a better experience if I do have another kid.
- 34:20Speaker 1: But I wanted to be with the right person, and
- 34:21Speaker 1: I would definitely want to be married, and I would
- 34:24Speaker 1: definitely have to tone my life down to where I
- 34:27Speaker 1: want to be able to take my kids to and
- 34:29Speaker 1: from school and you know, just be more of a
- 34:31Speaker 1: family man. You know, that's like a you know, a
- 34:34Speaker 1: different kind of transition.
- 34:36Speaker 5: But is that a goal of yours?
- 34:38Speaker 1: Maybe one day. I don't want to. I don't want
- 34:41Speaker 1: to speak too much on it because right now, you know,
- 34:44Speaker 1: you see what's going on out here.
