was a really really fun trio of episodes. There was a lot going on,

and it's like, really it feels every time that I think we can't

add more into it, that then there's another handful of characters we haven't seen

in a minute. And I love that this, like the first of these

three episodes, is just even more chaos, because that really does just sum

it up. I sort of wonder and I don't see anybody in the chat

But I am really wondering about if there was ever a time during writing this

series when Oda thought, okay, this is a rap, Like was there

there were a point where it seemed like we were going to reach the end

of the series and he was feeling like, I need to start really pulling

out all the stops because this is like my final hurrah. I don't know

if that ever happened. You know, it's certainly possible that this is the

kind of thing that there has been understood from day one. Just rate this

till you're dead. But then there's things, you know, it makes me

think of like TV shows and stuff where there have been times where rewatching Bones.

Recently, there's a season and I can't remember if it's like eleven or

ten, but there is a season that ends in such a way that I

think the show fully expected, like the writers expected they weren't getting renewed.

And so everything wraps in that fina with Bones, like leaving the Jeffersonian and

Booth deciding to retire from the FBI, and Angela and Hodgens deciding that they're

going to move to Paris, and everybody's like reaching these sort of conclusions of

their stories where they're going into a major transition to something new, and that's

the season finale, and then you start the next one and they just undo

all of that and walk it back really quickly in a way that's almost comical

because it's so like hap slap dash. And I'm not at all like saying

that this feels slapdash. What I'm saying is the fact that we are pulling

out all the stops and bringing in so many characters we've seen before into this

giant reunion feels very like series finale to me. And this just may be

the kind of thing that feels series finale because of the way I'm used to

consuming content and that I don't read manga, I don't often watch anime,

and I don't understand that maybe this is like a trope that comes up a

lot where we have we have to bring everybody together for a whole thing.

It's just that the show so far has never had an instance that I can

recall this huge where everybody is like all here. We have had run ins

with people that we have seen before, but it's not it hasn't felt like,

oh, this is everybody we've ever seen before. So I'm just curious

about that. But all right, Let's begin with the start of episode four

arriving at the place. So this, uh just to you know, remind

everybody where we were at the last point. We are still on level five,

and by we, I mean like Loofy and Iva and Bunclay and I

think still like Crocodile, and I'm trying to think there was another I can't

remember the name of, like the orange and white guy. But yeah,

I think they're all level five and they're trying to get They're still in the

process of getting to level four. And mister three and Buggy I believe are

in level two if I'm not mistaken. They're still hiding out under that weird

like wax shelter that they were staying away from the beasts that were saying pundus.

But yeah, they are hearing announcement. They aren't able to hear the

words. They are just able to like tell that somebody is over the loud

speaker and demanding that basically everybody muster in this other area because they see all

of the Bulgogian stuff like heading in one direction, and uh, it's kind

of funny because they decide that they're going to play up this moment in such

a way that it feels this is actually a pretty fun joke. But I'm

not entirely sure that this is being done as a joke. So what we

get is like Mister three and Buggy commiserating over what a huge relief it is

to finally break out of this place that they have been trapped in, and

by that they mean like the shelter. They don't mean the prison. Although

the prison is in a great sense what they are referencing, it just doesn't

really feel like that's what they mean here. And they recount everything that they

have been through, including all of the stuff that like we have just seen

in very recent previous episodes. And it is extremely funny because there have been
7:25
episodes of like, you know, sitcoms and stuff that I've watched where they

do this sort of as a joke. They will do a montage as if

it was something that happened years ago and they need to remind us of things

that happened earlier in that same episode. And that's a joke that I always

really really like, but I don't think that's the joke that's being made here.

I feel like the joke, like it's just meant to be taken at

face value because we're playing for time and these too. We throw this in

when we're trying to draw things out a little bit, and I may not

be correct about that, but it just has it smacks to me of playing

for time. At the same time, not mad about it, because as

I have said, these two are low key my favorite part of this arc

right now. And sometimes when I say so and so are my favorite part,

that's an indictment of the rest of the arc, you know, Because

what I'm saying is my favorite. It's pretty good, but it's not amazing.

This is my favorite part of an arc that has been more or less

solid gold from start to finish. So this is a pretty big compliment,

I feel, you know. And I just love them, like mister three

being like since when do wolves dig underground? And then the noxious clouds of

poison, and just each of them counting in really strained, tortured tones the

things that they have been put through. They're both like weeping and crying talking

about how this is a dream come true. It is so extreme, it

is hilarious. So they finally bust out here and this true three makes a

series of keys out of wax and they let everybody out of their prisons.

This is huge. I did not see this coming. I fully thought what

we are going to get would be the two of them maybe tossing some keys

and being like, do what you need to do, maybe waving over their

shoulders and being like, hey, buckos, thanks for your help, sorry

to see you, like you know, sorry to say we're never gonna see

you again, by e. And instead they actually look out for their guys,

like fairly solidly. And I love this that Hannibal is seeing all of

this over the Uh the surveillance snails and it's like, everybody, get your

butts over there now. So he calls down to these guards, are you

doing anything crucial? And he says we were heading down to level four as

ordered, and Hannibal says, make a full inspection of level two instead,

And the guard turns around and he looks at this like big open area and

is like, uh, here are you are you? Are you sure?

And I really did feel the dread in this. So Buggy and mister three

are over here and are like fucking pumped. They're both talking about how close

they are. I'd wager straw Hat and mister two are dead by now,

either that or they're gonna live out the rest of their days in this hell.

And Buggy, well, that's a sad thought, but at least we

saved our own asses. So at this point, the two of them just

stroll right on by the guards who are watching and thinking like, oh,
11:13
we spotted them, but they do not comprehend the level of escape that has
11:18
happened. They finally take a step back and look up and they realize that
11:24
everybody is out of their cells, and Buggy is just like, all right,
11:31
guys, time to bust loose, and we see them all coming out
11:35
of their doors and the poor guards just yelling, hey, so, uh,
11:41
we don't know how, but we need the bulgory back because they all
11:46
have escaped, and Hannybull's like, how many of them? And He's like,
11:50
all all of them have. So I love the way that it's animated
11:56
too. It's like you don't see individual guys, see a sort of like

white cloud with the occasional black stripe or hand or head sticking out of it,

just like as a mass heading in the direction of these guards, and

that's the same thing that we get on level four when we see Iva.

Iva's head is sticking out above the fray and then he like uses the hormone

on himself to make his head even bigger, which was truly so funny to

me. I really really found this hilarious. Like, and at one point

somebody says that he's got a bloated head, and he's like, it's not

bloated, it's it's the such and such because and he names like the spell

he uses for it. And yeah, Hannibal at this point is starting to

really really lose his shit, Like he had been playing so hard to be

head warden and was thinking, Oh, I'll just drop this all in my

fearless leader's lap and it'll look for him. But that's fine because then I

get to step into his place. And instead it's like later on, the

fact that his boss saves his ass is has won him over forever. But

for right now, he's sweating and panicking and they are looking out across like

the walkway of level four, and everybody is looking like, what the fuck

is this? What is coming at us? And it's just wonderful. I

love Lufy's reaction to seeing Bonclay, and bon Clay like turns into a sort

of carousel for a moment, like he's spinning in place. But the carousel
13:45
effect is, you know what I mean, Like it's very weird looking.

And then we have mister one jumping into the fray way and totally forgotten that

we hitting aged him. But he is somewhat boring. It's a shame.

And Lufy's like, I feel like I know who you are, but I

don't know from where. And Bonclay is like, oh, yeah, you

know, your swordsman friend went down and actually took this guy out in Alabasta,

which that is embarrassing, but there it is. But yeah, Lufy

does not recall this at all. So yeah, the guys on level two

continually are yelling, we need backup. Come on, vice warden, give

us an order. What are you doing? We need something, give us
14:35
guidance, and everybody is claiming that they need men more than the others.

So oh yeah, here it is. Face growth synthesis is what Iva does.

And his face is this becomes the size of like a blimp basically,

and I had I was sort of like, what is the point of this

exactly. I thought maybe it was just to be able to see over everybody's

heads and direct them, but then he uses his blink attack and I was

like, oh, right, So he makes his head big enough that he

can just wink and knock all of these dudes over, which is awesome and

I love. One of the guards is yelling about the attackers and saying they're

vicious and super weird. Delightful. Getting to see all of these dudes in

like garter belts and corsets and stuff fighting is so wonderful. This is just

delightful from fucking top to bottom, y'all. I am living with this whole

scene. So yeah, And as they're running, Eva's face makes up like

most of the background of the scene. This would be a really good like

desktop image. I really really love this. So we cut to the where

they are getting word from impelled down about the mass breakup and how the entire

prison has been shut down, and this dude who's in charge of ACE is

telling him that monkey de Loofy is the one that's uh responsible for the whole

thing. I'm not entirely sure if it's just to be like, oh,

your brother's in trouble, and he wants to torment him. He says something

like he tells him this and then just says, enjoy the view while you

still can. And I was like, I, why do I feel like

telling him? This isn't really like there's a point to it. But anyway,

he says, uh, let's see. Oh I'm sorry, guys.

There's a moment where there's like a sentence that seems like it's sort of unfinished.

He says, once you're shackled to that platform, I promise you this,

and then it like kind of weirdly cuts away, and we see a

bunch of different views of like the sunrise and everything. Ace is looking up

and there's like almost a look of like clouds that are on fire, and

only you I'm not sure if that's his name. He says, you'll never

see the sun again, as Ace is like zeroing in on the sun.

And so I'm thinking, is it that he is the like firefist. Is

that giving him some kind of ability to like summon the flames of the sun.

Is that what's happening here? Like I couldn't quite understand what I was

supposed to be getting from this scene because he says this, Ace is staring

up into the clouds. We get like multiple shots of different types of clouds.

We go back to Ace, who's staring. He closes his eyes and

I'm thinking something about to happen, but then myst just sort of descends over

the ships and that's the end of that scene. So I don't know what

I'm taking from this. Meanwhile, the other Marines that are speaking to the

Admiral are talking about or to Sengoku, They're like, yeah, we really

need to execute Ace as soon as we can, because time isn't exactly on

our side. There's this mass breakout. We just received word of a navy

ship arriving at impelled Down without any clearance, and Sengoku is like what and

he says, I know, sir, but what are the chances it's him?

So this is really funny because all anybody ever says is how tight the

security of every place his? And then their security is a joke? Like
18:56
it's just very bad. So we back up and we see all of these

figures departing, uh, disembarking off a ship, and this guy says,

I want you to conduct a search of the ship that they arrived on.

YadA, YadA, YadA. We didn't request any enforcements. We're in the

midst of an emergency, so we can't assure your safety and you can't come

in. You have to come back, and we have to notify headquarters.

And we hear Teach saying, you guys are just going to have to lighten

up because we're gonna do what we're gonna do. And this guy is like,

no, no, no, we're gonna get in trouble. And then

all of a sudden, you see this cloud that like comes up from underneath

him and basically de materializes him. It de materializes the gate that's like holding
19:52
them out of the building, and we see the guards just disappearing into this.

And I'll be on it, y'all. I don't fully remember what teaches

power is. I feel like it's shadow, but I can't totally recall,

and I don't want to look it up because I'm afraid that I'm going to
20:12
run into spoilers on him since we haven't seen that much of him. My

suspicion is we're going to get a lot more that I could definitely be spoiled

on. But anyway, these guys pull up, so we've got Teach and

like all these other characters that we have seen before that I don't remember their

names at all. Got the guy on the back of the horse who looks

like he's dying, and the horse is dying. We've got the guy with

the long musket and the cloak. We've got the guy covered in stars who's
20:47
got a sort of mime look to him, but he can fly and has
20:52
wings. And then we've got the like wrestler type. And yeah, they

basically just stroll the fuck on in there. There is no everybody is so

distracted, you know that the whole place they they're already dealing with such a

crisis and they don't know that it is about to get so so much worse.

So let's see, Captain, there's not a single crew, remember left

alive on the ship Blackbeard came in on and these guys turn and like point

their weapons and are like, don't take another step. And I was just

like, did you not see what happened to the other guys? I feel

like maybe you just want to leave this alone. Teach says liberation and sends

this creepy cloud out along with pieces of the gate that he had taken apart,

and just drops them into the crowd. It's just it seems like very

very little effort, and all of these other guards who are on the inside

kind of like they're listening through the gate, and they seem very what's the
22:15
word demoralized by how easy this was. Blackbeard sucked them in and spit them

back out the darkness. I don't think we can stop them, so he

keeps them in a space inside. Is that how his power works? I

wish there was somebody in the chat right now. Yeah, here's this guy

saying, the darkness it swallowed me up. Pole. So the darkness goes

under the gate and is beginning to like swallow up more crew members or I

guess just guards on the inside. And then we cut to Hannibal, who

is really really losing his shit. He's literally curled up in a ball crying.

And the thing that you would think is like he realizes that he and

all of his people are going to die because they are being overthrown. But

the thing that he actually is like grieving here is that he is destined to
23:18
be the vice Warden for all eternity, that he's never going to be able

to like make it further, which all of his men have to be sort

of sir, we do not have time for your breakdown right now. Let's

get it going here. We have got to start handling shit. And he's

thinking, how do I even deal with this mess? Like what am I

supposed to do? And he spots these crackers and it's just like, maybe

it's time for a snack break. And can I just say I have never

felt more called out in my entire life, this little bit of pcrastination truly,

I mean this is this is like me every day just being well,

I could deal with the thing I could, you know, just do what

I know I need to do, or in my panicked state, I could

just go back to eating and avoiding. And all of his men are just

like, we have got to focus here, and he just yells, oh,

you be vice Warden? And then all of a sudden here comes Warden Magellan

and he is explaining that he is handling things on Let's see which floor is

he on? Right now? I'm on level two and I've just taken care

of these fools. This floor is clear, and Hannibal is like, wait

what and we see Migelan standing there and all of these dudes are just laid

out in a huge purple pool of poison. I've he has blocked off all

exits and he has filled the place with poison gas and is like, if
25:22
a poison hasn't stopped them already, it will soon enough. And it turns

out that the crowd that is behind him. I was thinking, like everybody

has been completely killed, but there is like the blockage has kept our friends
25:41
and by our friends, I mean mister three and uh Buggy, they have
25:47
been like sectioned out in another area. So the main spot where they could
25:53
escape to the first floor is the spot where he completely annihilated everybody, which

is a really brutal I mean, I get it, it's the most expedient
26:10
way to handle this, but it's really funny considering the fact that, like
26:14
the other warden, they put in prison for crimes against humanity, and Magellan
26:18
has basically just like killed one hundred men. And let's see, he's talking
26:26
to a Handibal and Hannibal says, what do you mean It's something you didn't
26:30
want to do, and Magellan says, against better judgment, I decided to
26:36
release shear you to deal with them, and Hannibal just yells, are you
26:41
insane? And Magellan says, possibly, but we can't ask Navy HQ for

reinforcements, which is the main thing. I don't know if he means we

can't ask because it looks bad. We can't ask because it's impossible to get

any more from them, like that's just a non starter. We can't ask

because there is the possibility that like they can't get through. I don't know.

I think it's just a like they can't know about this situation, but

I'm not positive. And he says, and as for you, put all

of your efforts into getting Level four under control. I'll be heading down there

soon enough. And this is when Hannibal is like, oh my god,

this guy saved my ass. I love you, Warden, and he just

literally begins to do like a Saturday night fever, singing I love the Warden,

that sort of dance move. It was so so stupid, you guys,

Oh my god. So we go back to Iva, who is literally

just plowing and I mean that in the most literal term, plowing his way

through all of the men that are like blocking this bridge, and the whole

like scene here is so surreal because we've got so many people in such particularly

strange outfits. We've got all the guards who are the ones that are inside

are in different outfits from the ones that are outside. The inside ones have
28:33
that like odd sort of cowl over their heads. We've got the bizarre powers
28:40
of Iva and how giant his head is. We've got the fire glowing from
28:45
below them because you know they're so far down. There is just so much
28:52
odd shit going on in this scene. We cut to shear you being let

out of his cell, and I don't know what I'm supposed to think happens

here, but he gets released and starts smoking a cigar, and he's on

the speaker with I think Magellan, if I'm not mistaken, and he says

like, you're not just gonna use me and then throw me back in the

cell, right, Magellan. And there's like a really long pause and Magellan

just says, well, this is your one chance. Consider it a deferred

sentence. And sure he's like, all right, fine, but I'm thinking

I just have to assume. Sure, he's like, I'll just kill you

and we'll be done. It'll be fine. So he gets handed his sword

and it's got a really odd scabbard to it, and Magellan hangs up and

sure you pulls his sword and says, oh, my lovely sword, it's

been too long. And he pulls it out, and this red light pulses

out of it, and all of the guards begin to like sweat and whimper,

and then the camera pulls back, so to speak, and you just

see this wind with a bright red background, and all these guys get sort

of blown past, like, and a huge zigzag comes down as if to
30:41
suggest pulling it out of its scabbard only has caused a massive slice in reality.

For lack of a better way of saying this, which we know like

we had, we are aware that this power is right. We have seen

like Mihawk do this sort of thing. We have even seen Zoro kind of

do something like this as well, but their swords didn't glow. It felt

much more like they were doing something with like a power that exists in the
31:18
air and they were focusing it. And there's something about this glowing that makes

it seem like the sword itself is magic. And I don't know if I'm

misreading that, but I couldn't tell. Like Shiryo just says something like,

oh, I sort of, you know, let myself get out of control

there for a second. But it's not really explained, like did he kill

those guys or did they just get knocked aside or what. I just didn't

really get what it was I was supposed to think had happened. Do you

know what I'm saying? I have to assume that they're not actually dead,

because he says sorry, But I don't know that you could just be saying

sorry to a dead body like I am somebody who would probably do that.

So Lemiko to Iva, who is saying, listen up, boys and girls,

this is a nice appetizer, but we need chaos on every floor of

this hell hole. We need to divide the enemy forces. So we are

going to be letting everybody out and we are going to just completely reakh havoc.

And it's pretty fun. I enjoy so much the what's the word I

want? The like unrestrained havoc that is happening here and the blue Gory which

are running around. This guy is like puts his mouth on his trident or
32:47
whatever it is and plays it like it's a flute. It's a bizarre thing,

and it seems like he's directing the Blue Gory by doing this, so

they're like, I suppose, massing a more intense attack than they normally do.

But it's still nothing really, because Iva is able to shoot them all

backwards with a wink. Yet again, I love Iva so much, so

this is amazing. I love this so much. We have Sadie showing up

and I can't I think, correct me if I'm wrong. I think the

voice actress for Sadie is the same one that does Lufy. I don't.

I haven't looked into this, but there are a couple of points where she's

shouting and I thought for a second it was Loofy and got really confused.

I like when I looked away from the screen and then I would look up
33:52
and I'd be like, wait, no, that was her. So it
33:55
just like, you know, it kept being a thing. But she is

so confident in her demon guards. And then they also get shut down,

and the people who show up they identify themselves to Lufy as new Commas six

forces, and I love Lufy's eyes lighting up and saying these guys look tough,

and Iva says, these babies have a bone to pick with you jailers,

and it's just you're responsible for us, some of us dying and impel
34:34
down. If I recall, they have a particular distaste for the Demon Guards

as well as their saucy commander and a certain shrimpy demon chief Guard. And

what we then get is Iva transforming into a woman to fight Sadie. Which

it's such an inch thing, you guys, anytime that you have got a

show like this with a by far majority male cast, anytime that you throw
35:14
a woman into the mix and we have to get in a fight with her.

But we can't exactly like, let this woman be just like thrown around

by fucking dudes. We have to find a way for people to fight her
35:35
that won't be like offensive or upsetting. And I understand that impulse, and

I don't feel like this is a bad call, because yeah, it's hard

to be like, let me root on one of the characters that I'm supposed

to like as he kicks the shit out of a woman, like even if
35:55
she is a bad guy, depending on how it's portrayed, it can be

kind of ugly to watch. So I, by no means am trying to

say that this is a stupid impulse. But it's just an interesting thing to

see how they handle it, because sometimes all of a sudden, a woman

that we haven't seen before ever just materializes out of the ether to fight them,

and sometimes the woman gets taken out in another way where nobody winds up
36:23
even having to go hand to hand with her at all. And this is

like a method that one Piece has used before, where we'll have somebody sort

of become a woman and they will be able to lay and they're a shape
36:39
shifter, or they're able to do like who knows what. And this is

it's even more funny for me with it being Iva, because Iva is like
36:55
transforming himself using his weird ringe finger powers. So it's just a strange thing

with the way that his abilities work that he still has to like inject himself

and I find that so creepy. I don't know. Meanwhile, the other

prisoners are all working on these like demon animals, and they have them wrapped

up in chains and it's looking pretty good for a minute, but then they

all just break those chains in one shot and send these dudes literally like running

try for that. Well, it's a weird, like what happens is the

wax seems to go away. It's like the punch. I'm trying to watch

the way that this works. So he says, release wax, wax and

candlelock go. So they pull down the wax wall and he's going to punch

through it with his fist, and I was sort of like, I don't

get why you would take the wax wall away. I feel like you keep

the wax wall and then you punch that and maybe that pushes the poison out

of place. But that is not the way they do it, and I

think they should have. So this obviously results in his hand getting like wedged
