Let Me First Say Farewell
Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:61-62)
This week is much like last, in that this person said, “let me first…” all in a way to find an excuse to linger in their old life before turning to follow Jesus. We’ve all seen people in our lives do this kind of thing, whether in relation to salvation or not – they want to have their party years before growing up and taking responsibility, they want to “live their best life”…
