- 0:28What is going on, everybody?
- 0:30I just realized that opening I sound like Brian Friend doing commentary with a little golf voice.
- 0:36That's so funny.
- 0:38Yeah.
- 0:38How you feeling?
- 0:41I feel better.
- 0:41I'm moving around better.
- 0:44I feel less puffy.
- 0:48But there's this little bit of stuff hanging on.
- 0:51But it is so cold up here.
- 0:53So cold.
- 0:54It's disgusting here today.
- 0:56It's been like...
- 0:58Weird weather.
- 0:58It's like, it actually feels like summer, like the humidity today, like everything is sticky and damp.
- 1:05I don't know.
- 1:05We were just having a really weird, weird day.
- 1:08It's just bizarre.
- 1:10Cause normally this time of year, the weather's pretty good, but a little off this weekend.
- 1:14It stayed pretty nice up until Sunday.
- 1:16Sunday got a little messy.
- 1:19I, well, that was miserable, miserable trying to warm up for, I felt so bad for the athletes.
- 1:24Cause I'm out there.
- 1:25I felt bad for myself.
- 1:26I'm out there.
- 1:28warming up my athlete and it's freaking pouring out.
- 1:30So it definitely was not ideal.
- 1:33Anyways, this is not about Waterpalooza.
- 1:35This is recapping that.
- 1:38So I do want to know a little bit because you were there and it rained so much on the weekend and the, and I don't know how it worked for teens and age group stuff.
- 1:51Did your workouts get changed as much as the elite athletes?
- 1:55No, none of the workouts got changed because it really, the weather was only bad on Thursday and Sunday.
- 2:02Friday and Saturday were beautiful days, but Thursday it was rainy and Sunday was miserable.
- 2:10Sunday was, it was miserable.
- 2:12That last workout, thank God, the last workout for her was the one, it was like the bead rope and it was like dumbbells.
- 2:21but like she was literally warming up in the rain.
- 2:24It's pouring rain.
- 2:25And I'm, I'm standing there as the coach.
- 2:26I'm like, this is just wonderful.
- 2:28I'm just getting soaked right now.
- 2:31But it, it definitely was the elites definitely had it.
- 2:35They got to, they got to figure something out because if they're going to keep doing it this way, you know, like they obviously had a backup plan, but it just, I feel like they're going to need to utilize the,
- 2:49like like how they have the tina hills where they have the the overview or over thing why they don't have something like that they need to have all of the workouts with that option you know so um because that's the problem is there's just no way to protect you know from the weather so
- 3:09They did stop doing any of the workouts.
- 3:11Well, I guess not really.
- 3:12The only ones they really do out in front of Bayfront this year was the swim workout, you know, whereas they used to kind of use that as like the main stage because it looks really cool.
- 3:22But I think that they transitioned away from that and put everything in that main venue area.
- 3:26It's still a work in progress, but, you know, it is what it is.
- 3:29So it was good.
- 3:33I didn't mind the rain on Bayfront because everybody's wet generally anyway.
- 3:38So like it didn't really change anything for me, but man, Sunday was almost unwatchable for the teams at Flagler.
- 3:47Yeah.
- 3:47Like it just, it was chaotic.
- 3:50It was slippery.
- 3:51It just, it doesn't highlight the athlete.
- 3:55And I know the event organizers, there's really nothing you can do.
- 4:00Because the reason people come to Miami in January is for the sun and to be outside.
- 4:05So you don't want it to make it an indoor event or you lose the allure and the draw.
- 4:11So as much as I want to critique everything, I don't have a solution.
- 4:15Yeah.
- 4:17You know, it's unfair of me to critique because I don't envy their position at all.
- 4:24Yeah.
- 4:26We lost two off-season events due to weather this year.
- 4:29Rogue was terrible and Wadapalooza was terrible with the weather.
- 4:34I agree.
- 4:35I think that the only solution is they got to somehow figure out a way to utilize, like I said, the Tina Hills area with the stage.
- 4:47Um, it, it might be something along those lines of, you know, because it, it just doesn't make any sense.
- 4:55It just, it's, it's just going to be every year.
- 4:57We're gonna have a problem every year.
- 4:59There's a weather problem at Waterpool.
- 5:00This has probably been one of the worst ones though in a while.
- 5:04So last year it was cold this year.
- 5:06It wasn't cold.
- 5:07So yeah, last year, no rain, just cold.
- 5:10Yeah.
- 5:11Corey, to answer your question, yes, I would call it moist here today.
- 5:14That wonderful word.
- 5:16Yes, it is very much that.
- 5:18In fact, when I went to the gym earlier, I went to grab the rings and I'm like, why do these feel wet?
- 5:23Like it feels like somebody was wet on.
- 5:24It was literally humidity.
- 5:25It was bizarre.
- 5:26That's something we're having weird weather.
- 5:28Um, all right, so let's recap.
- 5:30So you did awesome.
- 5:32It looks like nutrition has been dialed in.
- 5:35You've updated your weight for me.
- 5:36So, um, you've been, you logged last week, despite being under the weather and you definitely are under eating a little bit, but I feel like that's likely just cause your appetite.
- 5:49Um, is that a fair statement?
- 5:52Yeah.
- 5:53Some days when I eat, I get queasy.
- 5:55Some days I don't.
- 5:57Yeah.
- 5:58I'm trying to look, thank goodness I logged.
- 6:00I'm trying to see similar things I'm eating on the days that I'm queasy.
- 6:05Like, is there something I'm eating that's forcing that to happen?
- 6:09Or is it just whatever I'm trying to push out of my body right now?
- 6:14Yeah.
- 6:17Like yesterday you had the soup.
- 6:18How'd that sit with you?
- 6:22soup.
- 6:23It was a creamy soup, so it actually did not go well.
- 6:27Yeah.
- 6:28I was going to say the dairy stuff is probably what's messing with you a little bit.
- 6:33Did you do anything over the weekend?
- 6:34Any date night or anything?
- 6:37Not really.
- 6:38Nope.
- 6:38Looks like maybe you ate out on Saturday.
- 6:42Maybe not.
- 6:43Steak sub maybe?
- 6:45No.
- 6:46We made that in.
- 6:47Nice.
- 6:48It looks good.
- 6:49Man, this looks like a good sub.
- 6:50He's got sub roll, Gouda cheese, steak, arugula, Granny Smith apples.
- 6:57Oh, that sounds really good.
- 6:59It was a HelloFresh meal.
- 7:01Oh, man.
- 7:02That sounds really good.
- 7:04It was the best sandwich I've ever had in my life.
- 7:08Yeah.
- 7:09That sounds really good.
- 7:10And we made it at home.
- 7:11And then dinnertime, you had tortellini.
- 7:13Is that what that was?
- 7:14Yeah.
- 7:15Man, you're eating some good stuff lately.
- 7:18Okay.
- 7:18So a couple of things here, um, just kind of going over nutritionally.
- 7:23I know that you're not feeling the best.
- 7:25Um, and I think that the next step is going to be getting, you know, like obviously overall health and stuff like that as well.
- 7:33Um,
- 7:34I think that your fiber count is something that we're going to need to start working on.
- 7:38And I do think that I know like, like last week you were sick.
- 7:42So I don't want to use last week as a telltale in terms of what we need to be changing.
- 7:47But a lot of your car products last week were more like white flower products and things like that.
- 7:53Assuming obviously that.
- 7:55you just aren't feeling that well.
- 7:56So I think that going into this week, something else is like looking at, Hey, all right, let's start to get back to eating like some high fiber carbs, the lavash breads, the sweet potatoes, things like that to kind of help increase your fiber intake, which is going to help with your gut, which is going to help with your immune system.
- 8:12So there's all a reason to these things, right?
- 8:15Weight loss journey, Scott is sitting at
- 8:19After a week of being sick, you're at 288.
- 8:20So that's good.
- 8:22We're down.
- 8:23It's a new low for you.
- 8:24How are you feeling about that?
- 8:27I can definitely see the difference in the mirror.
- 8:31I feel so much less puffy than I did over the holidays.
- 8:36Good.
- 8:37Not traveling, not, you know, just getting everything regulated.
- 8:42I feel way better that way.
- 8:44The other thing that we were looking for this week was photos, and I don't see photos.
- 8:49I did not get to those.
- 8:51No.
- 8:51Okay.
- 8:52So when are we going to get those?
- 8:54I will make a concerted effort to do that this week.
- 8:57I don't think a concerted effort.
- 8:59It's, it's, I'm going to do that.
- 9:00So what time do you wake up in the morning?
- 9:05Uh, seven 45.
- 9:07And then you start working eight.
- 9:09Yep.
- 9:10Okay.
- 9:10So I think that we need to do it on Saturday morning.
- 9:17Because that's when you're going to be off and not have to get up and go right to work.
- 9:23That's got to happen this weekend.
- 9:26Okay.
- 9:27You're dodging it.
- 9:29I know you are.
- 9:30Everybody dodges photos.
- 9:33But you are 289 and your last photos that I have for you.
- 9:37Sorry, 288.
- 9:38Sorry, 288.
- 9:40Well, I can talk about actually you are 289.
- 9:44I'll talk about that in a second.
- 9:45But 288.4.
- 9:48Um, and your last photos I have really solid photos were from January of 20, I'm sorry, August of 2021.
- 10:01I have decent photos of you from, uh, March of 2023, but the good ones are from January of 2021.
- 10:11So I know you are going to look dramatically different.
- 10:15And that is why I want to see them.
- 10:17So, and going forward, it's going to help us.
- 10:21289, 288 is, you know, where were you March of last year?
- 10:24Let's go ahead and take a look.
- 10:31March of last year, you were 314.
- 10:34So that's come quite a way.
- 10:45So I think that we should get those new photos for sure.
- 10:50Okay.
- 10:50All right.
- 10:51I'm trying to think about other things that we talked about last week while I was away.
- 10:55Cause I know that it was like super chaotic where I was at.
- 10:58That was hard.
- 10:59And it's funny because there was an athlete that was right next to me and I can't remember his name.
- 11:03And I was almost like, Oh, I should have like turned to him.
- 11:06Cause I forget his name.
- 11:07I'll remember when I look him up again, younger guy, but in the elite division, I think he was,
- 11:12I think he's a games athlete too.
- 11:13And I can't remember his name, but, uh, when I was back there podcasting with you, he was like right there to the left of me.
- 11:19But, uh, so yeah, so you're on the mend from sickness.
- 11:24I think that I would like to get you back up to eating at least your protein number this week.
- 11:29Um, I'm okay with your other numbers being a little bit lower.
- 11:33And I know that your foods kind of are probably still having a little bit of food aversions, I should say.
- 11:37Um,
- 11:40Are you just having a hard time getting in the right, getting in the protein because of your appetite and your foods, like the foods that are sitting well with you?
- 11:49So while I'm eating it, it's fine.
- 11:51It's like 20 minutes after.
- 11:53Yeah.
- 11:55And then I'm not hungry for the next meal.
- 11:57Got it.
- 11:59Okay.
- 12:00Breakfast.
- 12:01Let me see what you're doing for breakfast.
- 12:02Let me see if I can help anything.
- 12:03Because breakfast is normally where you can like front load protein.
- 12:09Um, I've been trying to add a lot of protein to breakfast.
- 12:11Yeah.
- 12:11Your breakfast is good.
- 12:1253 grams of protein, your breakfast and your lunch both look pretty good.
- 12:17Um, again, I do want to work on fiber a little bit, but still balanced.
- 12:23And we're not going to like, you know, force that this week with you not really feeling that well, but, um, it's really probably snack or before bed that you could really get something else in because your breakfast and your lunch, um,
- 12:36today look really good.
- 12:37And I'm assuming today though, honestly, Scott, today's probably going to be better because you didn't like yesterday, all you have is soup for lunch.
- 12:44So I think that today you're going to be back on track with your protein because you're already at a hundred grams of protein before dinnertime.
- 12:53So I, I really pushed it today to, to get some protein in.
- 12:59How have you been working out still or not really?
- 13:01Cause you're not, not feeling the best.
- 13:03Yeah, even I cranked up the propane heater in my garage, but still had to wear a full coat and gloves to be able to lift a barbell because it was that cold.
- 13:15What's the weather there right now?
- 13:16What's the temperature?
- 13:17So over the weekend, I think it was like 16 with a wind chill of three.
- 13:25That's crazy.
- 13:26Annie Giddens, you know her, Annie.
- 13:29She was down in Waterpalooza and she's now a client of, she was working with my other coach, but now she's my coach or my client.
- 13:36She texted me that it's negative seven where she was going back to.
- 13:40Oh.
- 13:42i think she's minnesota right oh thank you no thank you but not like that at all so yeah we're supposed to have this all week yeah it's um it's it's awful like just letting just going out with my dog is like my dog doesn't even want to be out yeah
- 14:00Yeah, I don't do well in the winter.
- 14:01I remember when I lived up in New England, I used to hate when I coached in the morning at the 5 a.m., which was every day.
- 14:06And it was like snowing.
- 14:08And I thank God my car had an automatic starter because I would just start it while I was in the house because it is brutal.
- 14:14But yeah.
- 14:15Yeah, my dog looks up at me and goes, you sure I can't just poop on the floor?
- 14:19Yeah, I'm sure.
- 14:21And I'm sure there's probably times where you're like, you should just poop on the floor.
- 14:23I'll clean it up.
- 14:24I'm just kidding.
- 14:25But yeah.
- 14:26So, okay.
- 14:27So this week, obviously you're kind of on the mend.
- 14:30I think that photos are what we need to do and then focus on getting in more protein.
- 14:36And then, yeah, I think the next step is honestly just getting you eating a little bit more complex carbohydrates.
- 14:41But like I said, I'm not judging this week because...
- 14:44you've been sick, you know, like you haven't been feeling your best.
- 14:48So honestly, like you're just trying to probably eat whatever feels good and tastes good to you.
- 14:52So, but that will be the next thing is getting that fiber number up, which was something that we were going to work on last summer when you first started going to see wild health, but it was like too much at once.
- 15:01You're like too much at once.
- 15:03Let's just focus on one thing at a time, but I think it's time to address that as well.
- 15:07Okay.
- 15:07So, um, what do you got going on this week?
- 15:14So my daughter just moved into a house in Pittsburgh.
- 15:18Um, so we may go visit her if the weather allows, if not, it'll be the weekend after.
- 15:24Gotcha.
- 15:26That's awesome.
- 15:26Congrats.
- 15:28Anything going on with your podcast?
- 15:32No?
- 15:32Can I just kind of easy there?
- 15:34No, just basic week.
- 15:35I do have some calls out for some special guests over the next couple weeks, but we'll see.
- 15:41Okay.
- 15:42And how are your stress levels with work and podcasts and everything?
- 15:46It seems like you're in a very good place right now with all that.
- 15:53My job has a new project for me, so that isn't ideal, but
- 16:01At least I'm getting paid every two weeks.
- 16:06But everything else is good.
- 16:09Just chilling.
- 16:10Yeah.
- 16:12I feel like I don't know why I'm a little worried about you.
- 16:14No?
- 16:17You're in a good spot?
- 16:19Yeah, just...
- 16:21Yeah.
- 16:23Okay.
- 16:23I just want to feel better.
- 16:25Yeah.
- 16:25That's probably what it is.
- 16:26You're probably just under the weather.
- 16:28So I love Corey.
- 16:30I'm not a special guest, Scott.
- 16:32So I'm just special.
- 16:33That's hilarious.
- 16:35So this week, I think our focus is...
- 16:37Guys, this is the part of the journey that people don't realize.
- 16:41It's the boring work.
- 16:43You're sick, not a whole bunch going on, nothing really exciting.
- 16:47I feel like this week is all about you getting back from being sick.
- 16:51I will say this, super proud of you for logging the entire time.
- 16:55Because in the past, whenever you're sick, you don't.
- 16:59You don't, that's been an excuse for you not to log in the past.
- 17:04So that just shows that you're like in a driven place and you're ready to, uh,
- 17:08obviously finish this off strong.
- 17:10In fact, you know, what's funny is I had a call yesterday with a listener who reached out to me for coaching.
- 17:15She listened to your podcast.
- 17:17She listened to our podcast.
- 17:18And then she found my podcast or our podcast.
- 17:20And she said, what really made me want to get on the call with you was when you were talking to Scott about this being the last year that he ever has to lose weight.
- 17:31And like ever has to worry about his weight and like finishing it off.
- 17:34And she's like, that really resonated with me because I've struggled with my weight for so long.
- 17:39And I just don't even know what that would feel like to not have to be worried about losing weight.
- 17:43And I'm excited for you for that this season, for sure.
- 17:46So, yeah, that caught me off guard as well.
- 17:50Um, cause I don't, I, the last 30 years of my life, it's been a constant fight.
- 18:00And we're going to put a nail in the coffin this year.
- 18:02It's done.
- 18:04So I'm excited for that, for sure.
- 18:06I think if anything I could do to help you this week, I'm thinking maybe if you need more help with changing out some carbs is really the only thing I'm going to suggest.
- 18:15But I think you know a couple of swaps to make.
- 18:17And I think once you get back to your routine food, it typically ends up working itself out.
- 18:21But I'm here if you do need anything like that this week.
- 18:26Yeah.
- 18:27Yep.
- 18:28I...
- 18:30I was afraid.
- 18:30So just one thing like Dave's Killer Bread is awesome and I love it.
- 18:35I thought that was irritating my stomach because of all of the nuts and seeds in it.
- 18:43And so I was trying to back off that to see if that would help.
- 18:46That apparently is not it.
- 18:47Yeah.
- 18:50There's another bread that I use that I really like because you could have more of it.
- 18:56Like one slice of this bread has only eight or nine carbs.
- 19:00So like it's way less carbs for the, and it's Sarah Lee makes it.
- 19:06It's called Delightfuls, I think.
- 19:09And it's like a 45 calorie per slice bread.
- 19:11And that's what I use in the morning for my French toast.
- 19:13There's that one and nature's own makes one.
- 19:16They call it quote unquote keto, but it's just a lower carb bread and they both taste really good.
- 19:20So either of those, and they're both high fiber.
- 19:23So yeah.
- 19:25Yeah.
- 19:27So.
- 19:28Okay.
- 19:30Uneventful show, but I'm hoping that next week we have some photos, which is going to be more eventful.
- 19:37Okay.
- 19:38Yeah.
- 19:38Alrighty.
- 19:39And I'm going to remind you on Saturday.
- 19:42Okay.
- 19:42And you know, I'm up early before you're up.
- 19:46Yeah.
- 19:50All right.
- 19:50Well, sounds good.
- 19:52Well, to everybody in the comments, thanks for being here as always.
- 19:55You guys are awesome.
- 19:57And we will see everybody next week on, hopefully my meeting doesn't run over these people in this meeting.
- 20:05They do not understand the concept of time.
- 20:09Yeah.
- 20:10You start a meeting from three to four.
- 20:12It should end before four.
- 20:14This one never ends before four.
- 20:16It's awful.
- 20:19So with that, I just had to get that off my chest.
- 20:21I feel you.
- 20:22With that, we will catch everybody next time on the Clydesdale Media Weight Loss Journey.
- 20:28Bye guys.
