- 0:21So I was looking at this plan I had laid out for the new video series and I mean I
- 0:26had every single detail scheduled down to the actual hour.
- 0:31It, it, it was perfect.
- 0:34And then the first filming day, the venue completely flooded.
- 0:38Like water everywhere.
- 0:40Just a total mess.
- 0:42And my first reaction was just this heavy, sinking feeling of failure
- 0:50because the reality did not match the picture in my head.
- 0:54Oh man, the flooded venue.
- 0:56That is a classic.
- 0:58It reminds me of what psychologists call the planning fallacy.
- 1:03Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky wrote about how we naturally underestimate the time
- 1:08and the complications of basically everything we plan.
- 1:12We create this clean, straight line in our minds, but life is just never a straight
- 1:17line, is it?
- 1:18No, not at all.
- 1:21And when we hit that curve, sometimes we crash because we are so attached to that
- 1:26specific picture instead of the actual purpose behind it.
- 1:31We think, okay, if it does not happen exactly this way, then it is ruined.
- 1:37But that is where the mental block happens.
- 1:40Exactly.
- 1:41And that is why I keep coming back to the song "Swerve."
- 1:45If you listen to how that track is built, it does not just stay in one steady
- 1:50groove.
- 1:50It has these sharp, driving dynamic shifts.
- 1:54The rhythm literally forces you to pivot, to adjust your posture,
- 1:58to move with the change rather than resisting it.
- 2:01It is like sonic training for your brain to stop freezing when things go sideways.
- 2:07Yes, exactly.
- 2:09The music has this physical momentum to it.
- 2:12It tells you that a shift in direction is not the end of the road.
- 2:16It is just a different turn.
- 2:18It is about building that agility so that when the roadblock appears,
- 2:22you do not just park there and cry.
- 2:25You swerve.
- 2:26Right.
- 2:27So how do we actually do that in real life without just getting overwhelmed by the
- 2:32disappointment?
- 2:34We need what I call a Pivot Audit.
- 2:37Instead of asking why did this happen to me, which just keeps you looping in
- 2:41frustration, you have to ask a better question.
- 2:45What does this detour now make possible that the original plan did not?
- 2:50Oh, I love that shift.
- 2:52It completely changes the energy from passive victim to active creator.
- 2:58When my venue flooded, it actually forced us to shoot outdoors,
- 3:02and the natural lighting turned out ten times better than the artificial studio
- 3:06lights would have been anyway.
- 3:08See?
- 3:09That is a perfect swerve.
- 3:11So let us give everyone three practical action steps to make this mindset a daily
- 3:16habit.
- 3:18First, you need to establish a twenty four minute pivot window.
- 3:22Give yourself a strict limit to feel the frustration, to vent to yourself,
- 3:27to be annoyed, but once those twenty four minutes are up, you commit to closing the
- 3:32door on the disappointment and looking forward.
- 3:35Yes, we need that time to process, but we cannot let it turn into a permanent
- 3:40residence.
- 3:42Then step two is to run a swerve audit.
- 3:46Grab a piece of paper and write down three unexpected options or alternatives that
- 3:51were created specifically because of this disruption.
- 3:54Force your brain to find the hidden opportunities in the new landscape.
- 3:58And finally, step three is to set a micro action anchor.
- 4:03Put on a high tempo, motivating track like "Swerve" to change your physical energy,
- 4:08and commit to just one immediate five minute action that builds new momentum.
- 4:13It does not have to be huge.
- 4:15Just write one email, make one phone call, or search for one new option.
- 4:21Just move.
- 4:22It is all about reclaiming that momentum.
- 4:26When you take action, even a tiny one, you prove to yourself that you are still in
- 4:31control of your journey, even if the road looks different than you expected.
- 4:35Remember, a disappointment is never the final word unless you let it stop your
- 4:40progress.
- 4:42Every time you choose to swerve, you are actively choosing growth over defeat.
- 4:47That is so true.
- 4:50So the next time a plan falls apart or an obstacle gets in your way,
- 4:55do not let it shake your belief in where you are going.
- 4:59Take your twenty four minute pivot window, run your swerve audit,
- 5:04put on a powerful track like "Swerve" to shift your energy,
- 5:08and take that first micro step.
- 5:11You have everything inside you to turn any detour into your greatest breakthrough.
- 5:17Yes, you really do.
- 5:19Your journey is far from over, and the best chapters of your story might be waiting
- 5:24on the exact detour you did not plan for.
