- 0:21Speaker 2: To him in his own language.
- 0:24Speaker 3: This was like that one week where we had what
- 0:26Speaker 3: do we have? We had jelly or jam? No cream
- 0:30Speaker 3: cheese pop into the chap We're like, who's this cream
- 0:33Speaker 3: cheese person? And then we got into a line of
- 0:38Speaker 3: drawn out thing about is cream cheese actual cheese? And
- 0:40Speaker 3: how does it work?
- 0:41Speaker 4: But anyway, I don't think I was there.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Well, what's going on? Everybody? I am the one, the only,
- 0:50Speaker 3: the w o okay I e We're one misfit short
- 0:53Speaker 3: of a happy meal. But we got one back. So
- 0:56Speaker 3: does that make us complete and whole again? I'm not sure,
- 1:00Speaker 3: but we'll find out today. We got one and only
- 1:02Speaker 3: the big z Hey.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Hey, another week of altered corner.
- 1:07Speaker 5: We got Cole Hello, my Hello, breather.
- 1:11Speaker 3: In, we got Zach, how's it going? And finally he
- 1:16Speaker 3: came out of his closet, tucked put his moon boots away.
- 1:21Speaker 3: We got hello, Hello. Do you know what moon boots are?
- 1:25Speaker 3: Next to?
- 1:26Speaker 5: No?
- 1:27Speaker 6: I have no idea what those are.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We'll have to wait till can explain it to him.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah, boy, are you in for a treat. But going through,
- 1:36Speaker 3: We're gonna start out with unique of the Week. This
- 1:40Speaker 3: Unique of the Week brought to you by I feel
- 1:42Speaker 3: like this would be a sponsored segment.
- 1:44Speaker 4: No, I don't know. Maybe maybe it's sponsored by.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Sponsor the guards Uh sponsored by We will find a
- 1:54Speaker 3: sponsor for Unique of the Week. But this week's unique
- 1:57Speaker 3: is a unique Shanlong. I wonder if I can. I'm
- 2:02Speaker 3: gonna try to put these pictures somewhere. I don't know
- 2:04Speaker 3: if we could put these of the show notes or
- 2:06Speaker 3: somewhere to put them. I'm gonna assume maybe we can
- 2:09Speaker 3: make a section on Altered the.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Definitely put them up on our new Patreon sites that
- 2:17Speaker 4: we're going to have soon that.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We could do. We could put the Unique of the
- 2:20Speaker 3: Week up there kind of and maybe you guys could
- 2:22Speaker 3: share some of your uniques with us, get to get
- 2:25Speaker 3: some thoughts and opinions. But he is a character Dragon
- 2:28Speaker 3: Deity five from hand five from reserves six five to five.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I have tough one. When I gain one or more
- 2:37Speaker 3: boosts if you control one or more landmarks, draw card
- 2:42Speaker 3: and then his quick action is the next character you
- 2:45Speaker 3: play this turn game one boost.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I mean, we've seen it before. Drawing is so important
- 2:53Speaker 2: in this game.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Good in my short time here, I don't even think
- 3:01Speaker 3: I have enough games to put into. I think I'm
- 3:04Speaker 3: like one or two games shy of being able to
- 3:06Speaker 3: change my avatar.
- 3:08Speaker 4: So eighteen games, good dad? I mean I played ten
- 3:11Speaker 4: after I just prepared for the segment today.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Maybe maybe I will gain that privilege once. Uh, as
- 3:19Speaker 3: we are going through this show, you never know.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yeah, oh well that's interesting.
- 3:25Speaker 3: So you and Sheep could do it for years. I
- 3:28Speaker 3: can do it for I should.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Not play key Ford will doing dark on Scorer? I
- 3:33Speaker 4: watched Dan play for.
- 3:37Speaker 2: While watching Scorer.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Well, if I might be watching games, if.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Dan can do it, I can do it. Maybe will?
- 3:44Speaker 2: He also just.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Grumped once every ten minutes and didn't say.
- 3:48Speaker 3: We had to poke him everywhere and again to make
- 3:50Speaker 3: sure he was still breathing.
- 3:51Speaker 7: So let's get perinitely not in the middle of a
- 3:55Speaker 7: game right now, Yeah, definitely not.
- 3:58Speaker 3: So do we want the perspective of this?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Shouldn't you introduce the like our new little cast member that.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The first time I just I just introduced him.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It wasn't really much of an introduction though, Yeah, and then.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I asked him if you knew what moon Boots was.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Dexter will be here. Dexter is in charge of the
- 4:23Speaker 3: Why I suck it altered? Is that why you're Is
- 4:25Speaker 3: that why they're poking fun at you?
- 4:26Speaker 6: You're the nube I mean I am when I do
- 4:29Speaker 6: suck it altered the most.
- 4:30Speaker 7: Probably now Wookie was referring to himself, I was referring
- 4:34Speaker 7: the new player.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Yeah, so what's your perspective of this card? So that
- 4:39Speaker 4: you are the least gamified altered?
- 4:42Speaker 3: So the first thing that stands out to me now,
- 4:44Speaker 3: I don't know what the normal shen long is. I forget,
- 4:47Speaker 3: right off the top of my nugget, I haven't memorized
- 4:49Speaker 3: every card of.
- 4:50Speaker 4: This real big lots of man.
- 4:53Speaker 3: He's real big, but he's expensive. And I know through
- 4:57Speaker 3: my magic time that real big and expensive don't always
- 5:02Speaker 3: mean real good.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Now, what I.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Have been told is Bravos is the green of altered.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So they have a little ramp, right, they're able to
- 5:14Speaker 3: get some Oh there they are. Uh, they're able to
- 5:17Speaker 3: get a little bit of a little bit more mana
- 5:21Speaker 3: orbs into play quicker? Why what what? What what are
- 5:27Speaker 3: we doing here? Where are we moving things? I can't
- 5:28Speaker 3: see them.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I wasn't moving anything. No, I brought them in. Z
- 5:35Speaker 2: is moving them?
- 5:35Speaker 3: So it doesn't, so, and I am told that boost
- 5:39Speaker 3: for Bravos is also a very common thing. Yes, So
- 5:45Speaker 3: my next question then becomes, well, I've spent on my
- 5:48Speaker 3: mana ORBS, like where am I getting this extra boost from?
- 5:52Speaker 3: And after playing Fenn that it doesn't seem like that
- 5:56Speaker 3: might be really an issue. So you're going to be
- 5:59Speaker 3: drawing some cards and if you have your landmark, so
- 6:03Speaker 3: that seems pretty I mean, car draw is really really
- 6:07Speaker 3: really really really really really really really really important, like
- 6:13Speaker 3: card draw and reserves. I have never played a game
- 6:16Speaker 3: where card draw is so yeah, it's so scarce so.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Right, like it's it's game winning good in a lot
- 6:28Speaker 4: of cases, it's almost like.
- 6:31Speaker 3: You could have a very bad card and if it
- 6:33Speaker 3: says draw a card, it's almost a must run, right. So,
- 6:42Speaker 3: and for gaming boost and drawing cards, it seems pretty good.
- 6:49Speaker 3: The quick action maybe maybe not. I'm not the quick act.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think I ever actually gives you a
- 7:00Speaker 4: really good I'm not going to talk about it much
- 7:02Speaker 4: this in my Bravo segment today, but there is a
- 7:05Speaker 4: common one drop in Bravos that has a quick action
- 7:09Speaker 4: itself that says the next character you just discard it
- 7:13Speaker 4: from reserve and the next character you play gains a boost,
- 7:16Speaker 4: which means for even at five, it would then come
- 7:19Speaker 4: and boosted from the assume and you would immediately draw card.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And then if you had a Bastion, you would get
- 7:26Speaker 6: another boost.
- 7:27Speaker 8: And if you had the.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Is such a drawing card.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even I didn't even realize. It's every
- 7:36Speaker 2: single time. It's getting every single time. Wow.
- 7:40Speaker 4: And like helping Hand is a one drop from hand
- 7:43Speaker 4: as a spell to from reserve. Like, there's a lot
- 7:46Speaker 4: of ways in Bravos that trigger this guy. And it
- 7:50Speaker 4: would be if you got three uniques like this we're
- 7:53Speaker 4: talking about like uniques, and if it exists on this
- 7:56Speaker 4: one card, that means it exists in other iterations on
- 7:58Speaker 4: other shinlongs obviously and other cards as well. So you
- 8:02Speaker 4: could chase three uniques like this, run three of them
- 8:05Speaker 4: in your deck, and go all like all out the Serra.
- 8:09Speaker 4: It would be a very very strong use case to
- 8:11Speaker 4: run the zero immediately.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just fantastic.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It does seem late in the game, no five.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Can be turned three. Everyone hits five turn three?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, okay, yeah, okay, fair enough.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but if they if it is turned two, they're
- 8:41Speaker 2: not going to be able to get a boost.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah, now you're not gonna want to do it like
- 8:44Speaker 4: you're gonna want this to be your turn four, turn five,
- 8:47Speaker 4: turn six, play to set up for the kill on
- 8:49Speaker 4: turn seven or eight or nine. Like this. It's a
- 8:52Speaker 4: setup card. Yeah, I mean it's also a big.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Body, big stats, big stats.
- 8:59Speaker 4: There's a lot of options here, and like I said,
- 9:01Speaker 4: like the big part about it is if you have
- 9:03Speaker 4: one of it's a weird slot because you're probably still
- 9:06Speaker 4: not running at that point. But if you have three
- 9:09Speaker 4: cards like this guy, you're definitely going Basira and you're
- 9:13Speaker 4: gonna have like Ismer level draw power in.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Your deck and draw good I've learned. I've learned that
- 9:20Speaker 3: is the one I've learned ever so quickly.
- 9:25Speaker 8: Tough is also very very good to have.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Especially even even even one because of how big man
- 9:31Speaker 4: it is.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, so I liked that it's good card.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I was. I was gonna say it's on the upper
- 9:40Speaker 3: end of decent. I've seen better, but I've also seen worse.
- 9:43Speaker 4: As far as Bravos goes, this is a beast. Okay,
- 9:47Speaker 4: this is gold to your Bravos. I know, we talked
- 9:50Speaker 4: a lot about other cards in them. They were orders,
- 9:52Speaker 4: and we'd spoiled our audience a little bit with some
- 9:54Speaker 4: of the ordists standard, but standards for other houses will
- 9:58Speaker 4: quite a bit lower.
- 10:01Speaker 2: You've said before, the prophets is always harding on the card,
- 10:04Speaker 2: heavy cards in hand and stuff, and the fact that
- 10:06Speaker 2: this gives you draw every single time it gets a
- 10:08Speaker 2: boost like you're gonna be sitting out a lot of
- 10:11Speaker 2: cards eventually.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And cards give you options, and options give you a
- 10:17Speaker 3: path to victory. That's what I've always been taught. So
- 10:24Speaker 3: that's the unique of the week with your nube, Wookie.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Thanks Wookie, not a problem.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Let's move on to why suck it altered? Dexter.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Yeah, So, I mean I suck it altered for a
- 10:36Speaker 6: lot of reasons. But one game that I played a
- 10:39Speaker 6: bit ago a wau versus and a fauness deck, I
- 10:44Speaker 6: had the option to sabotage either a helping hand or
- 10:47Speaker 6: a mage dancer, and I chose to sabotage their helping hand.
- 10:52Speaker 6: And then they just kept playing that mage dancer with
- 10:55Speaker 6: other helping hands and getting a whole bunch of booths,
- 10:58Speaker 6: and they just overwhelmed me with character. So, I mean
- 11:01Speaker 6: that was a mistake for multiple reasons. But one big
- 11:04Speaker 6: thing with the Fawnas is that it needs characters in
- 11:07Speaker 6: order to get its ability to work when you play
- 11:10Speaker 6: spells to give dudes boosts. So if I had just
- 11:13Speaker 6: sabotaged that character, then it wouldn't have had that character
- 11:18Speaker 6: to get as many boosts, and he wouldn't he wouldn't
- 11:21Speaker 6: have been as fast. So sometimes like looking at your
- 11:25Speaker 6: opponent's game plan instead of just specific cards and disrupting
- 11:29Speaker 6: their overall game plan is a lot more useful.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Well, a lot of that's knowing your opposing heroes and
- 11:35Speaker 4: it doesn't have to play other heroes every once in
- 11:37Speaker 4: a while to actually understand that a little bit better.
- 11:40Speaker 4: And because I watched that game, and that was my
- 11:42Speaker 4: comment to you, right, like, I was like to kill
- 11:45Speaker 4: the guy because I play a fun ess. I played
- 11:47Speaker 4: all of the heroes quite a bit. Unless they suck,
- 11:50Speaker 4: I have not played them. But uh, like, a Faunas
- 11:54Speaker 4: is a great hero. He's a fantastic he's fun to play.
- 11:57Speaker 4: But like, one of the weaknesses that you have to
- 12:00Speaker 4: endure as in a Faunas player is that you have
- 12:03Speaker 4: to run lots of spells a Faunas decks have like
- 12:06Speaker 4: nineteen to twenty one spells in them, yeah, which means
- 12:09Speaker 4: you don't actually have that many characters. So if you
- 12:13Speaker 4: can strategically hold like control their characters, you can put
- 12:18Speaker 4: them in a scenario where they literally can only fight
- 12:20Speaker 4: for one lane if any, because they don't like they
- 12:24Speaker 4: have their spells because that is what they have to have,
- 12:27Speaker 4: like they have to have them in their deck in quantity,
- 12:29Speaker 4: or they literally can't spell sling without them, yep, which
- 12:33Speaker 4: means they just don't have a lot of characters. So
- 12:35Speaker 4: if you have a chance to sabotage and you're looking
- 12:37Speaker 4: at a spell or a dude, it doesn't even if
- 12:41Speaker 4: even if that dude is tooth Fairy and you're looking
- 12:43Speaker 4: at two man at land in a one one one
- 12:45Speaker 4: and you're like, well, that's not gonna do anything anymore.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Kill the tooth Fairy yep, because it's going to grow,
- 12:51Speaker 4: because it's not going to be a one one one
- 12:53Speaker 4: by the time they played their fifth magic Training or whatever.
- 12:59Speaker 6: And I mean it's the same for other decks like Bravos,
- 13:02Speaker 6: Like if you're playing Muna into Bravos, your rare daughter,
- 13:05Speaker 6: which is Normally a great card is awful against Bravos,
- 13:09Speaker 6: just because giving Bravos any card draw is awful, So
- 13:12Speaker 6: you want to look at it different at all.
- 13:16Speaker 2: He's catching up. He's actually got week one and week
- 13:22Speaker 2: two to cover, so he just covered week two. Can
- 13:24Speaker 2: you go back one more and tell us why you tall?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Oh?
- 13:27Speaker 2: I almost said it. Oh that was close.
- 13:34Speaker 4: I'm just it's gonna happen to me. I'm the one
- 13:36Speaker 4: that started the segment, So.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Why I suck an altern moment?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Here you go?
- 13:42Speaker 3: You ready for fifty of them? Well, now we got
- 13:46Speaker 3: a week three moment from the New Right. And literally
- 13:49Speaker 3: I sat on this podcast and was it Ogre? Was
- 13:52Speaker 3: it Coal who gave us the long winded explanation of
- 13:57Speaker 3: why you should when you when you come to the
- 14:00Speaker 3: realization that you are not doing anything but paddling upstream
- 14:04Speaker 3: but still going backwards, maybe stop and don't do it
- 14:09Speaker 3: no more and save your resources for another turn.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 3: And I literally sat here and I listened here to that.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I literally sat here and I listened to that, and
- 14:18Speaker 3: I said, went, huh, this is actually some great advice.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And then you went and then.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You're playing in some games and you you have come
- 14:26Speaker 3: to the realization I don't think I can win this.
- 14:29Speaker 2: So you just keep throwing good money after bad and.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Then you go ha yolo, and you're like, maybe I
- 14:35Speaker 3: can because in your head you're always like I can
- 14:39Speaker 3: totally do this. And then you realize you're playing against
- 14:45Speaker 3: Wauru and you're like, hey, no, what the what And
- 14:48Speaker 3: you look back all of fourteen and a half seconds
- 14:51Speaker 3: and you go, what did I just do? I knew
- 14:54Speaker 3: I was dead to rights on this turn, Why did
- 14:56Speaker 3: I continue doing that? So sometimes you have to listen
- 14:59Speaker 3: to the other half of your head and go, you're
- 15:02Speaker 3: a dumbass. Just sit back and click pass.
- 15:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I feel like I won a match in organized
- 15:11Speaker 7: play last night, specifically because the person was a little
- 15:16Speaker 7: bit newer of a player, and when you're new you
- 15:19Speaker 7: kind of want to do everything and use all your abilities.
- 15:23Speaker 5: And they were playing Novenka, which.
- 15:27Speaker 8: Were the more seasoned players will know.
- 15:29Speaker 7: Exactly how you can risk more than you need to,
- 15:33Speaker 7: especially if it's not important.
- 15:35Speaker 5: And every day. Yeah, he he.
- 15:41Speaker 7: Got really really lucky most of the time, but it
- 15:44Speaker 7: was the one or two times where it didn't work
- 15:47Speaker 7: out where he didn't even need to roll and it backfired,
- 15:52Speaker 7: but it was a it was a good deck, especially
- 15:54Speaker 7: for someone who was just you know, their second or
- 15:57Speaker 7: or third week of playing.
- 15:58Speaker 5: It was a really good Navenka deck.
- 16:00Speaker 4: But it'll take your word for it.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Well, I mean, you know, you know what deck I play,
- 16:07Speaker 7: so I know, I know, but it was it was good.
- 16:09Speaker 7: H He'd shout out to that random guy in THEFW
- 16:14Speaker 7: he put together good Navenka deck.
- 16:16Speaker 3: There's something about risking it for the biscuit where you're like, yep, yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you'll never see me running that hero.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's there's just there's it's exhilarating. I don't know,
- 16:28Speaker 3: like I that is a great fun deck. I think
- 16:31Speaker 3: that is you can definitely one hundred percent like if
- 16:35Speaker 3: you are quote unquote dicking around. That's like if there
- 16:40Speaker 3: was is there a multiplayer in in technically yes, technically yes,
- 16:48Speaker 3: I don't like that. Don't like that technically yes, and.
- 16:51Speaker 6: Four player with like some weird X shaped adventure track.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I think because if the if there ever was like
- 16:58Speaker 3: a like very s uber casual, like, that's the deck
- 17:02Speaker 3: to run, like I don't know, like where you could
- 17:07Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe play your cards for your opponent
- 17:09Speaker 3: and cast them on theirs, or maybe like the person
- 17:12Speaker 3: to your left to screw the person to your right.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 17:16Speaker 7: Yeah, it's humually done more for fun at like conventions
- 17:20Speaker 7: and stuff. But there's a there's a two v two
- 17:22Speaker 7: mode and the rules exist out there. But I mean
- 17:27Speaker 7: speak like referencing, you know, dicking around. This is like
- 17:31Speaker 7: balls in the wind because he did not have the
- 17:35Speaker 7: permanent that gives you an extra die, so it was
- 17:38Speaker 7: one die the entire like best of three. So that's
- 17:43Speaker 7: even that's even more risky.
- 17:45Speaker 3: It's the outposts that does that, doesn't it.
- 17:47Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like buying twenty scratchers a week at the
- 17:53Speaker 7: gas station.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Listen. I watch people do it all day, every.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Day, same thing.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I'll wait for looking to come back to this.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but he said, listen, listen. I work in a
- 18:08Speaker 3: pond store, right I have. I have watched fortunes won
- 18:14Speaker 3: and lost in the matter of a week from gambling.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I don't gamble, I don't get I actually don't gamble
- 18:24Speaker 3: at all. I don't buy scratchers, I don't buy a
- 18:25Speaker 3: lotto tickets. I don't go to the casino like I
- 18:29Speaker 3: just I don't gamble. But boy, howdy. I have watched
- 18:32Speaker 3: somebody come into my spore store drop twenty k in
- 18:36Speaker 3: a heartbeat, and then next week need to bring it
- 18:39Speaker 3: back because they gave it all back to Pottawatamie or
- 18:42Speaker 3: And not only did are they returning stuff, they're now
- 18:44Speaker 3: also pawning their own jewelry so they can get more
- 18:47Speaker 3: money to go to PoTA watam which is our our local.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I guess local is a weird term our our casino
- 18:55Speaker 3: that's in the area.
- 18:57Speaker 8: So this sounds fun to say.
- 19:01Speaker 3: It's the it's the local tribe. So if any of
- 19:08Speaker 3: you are wondering, is the local tribe for for millewake.
- 19:14Speaker 3: So everybody sucks it altered except for Z because he's
- 19:19Speaker 3: the I suck.
- 19:19Speaker 4: I sucked plenty at all, and I'm not because he.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I am currently not ranked number one. So that's all
- 19:27Speaker 4: Pluka right now all the way.
- 19:31Speaker 5: It's he's still number one.
- 19:32Speaker 1: We haven't.
- 19:34Speaker 4: It is still a.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Pluka by a by a long Wayeah.
- 19:39Speaker 4: He's shut up there a bit.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Last week he was only eight points ahead. He shot
- 19:45Speaker 3: up some more.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah he's almost one hundred. Ye oh yeah, he's at
- 19:50Speaker 2: two thousand and one and the next player is at
- 19:51Speaker 2: nineteen twenty eight eighty seven.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I'm roking for Pluka.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I ain't go no, like yeah, it's like America then
- 20:01Speaker 4: a bunch of not America. So Goldluka, let's go.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I've never met Pluca. I've talked to him once. Rootin
- 20:09Speaker 3: for you?
- 20:10Speaker 4: Yeah all right? An all right? That is me. So
- 20:15Speaker 4: we're gonna really get into today. It's gonna be a
- 20:16Speaker 4: little bit more of a segment today than last week.
- 20:20Speaker 4: So the first thing we're going to talk about with
- 20:23Speaker 4: decks construction is the bones of the deck, and that
- 20:26Speaker 4: is going to be referring to your twenty one comments
- 20:29Speaker 4: and your fifteen rares. So it's great as the uniques
- 20:31Speaker 4: are and as impactful as they can be for some
- 20:33Speaker 4: houses factions like You're still going to have thirty six
- 20:38Speaker 4: of your thirty nine cards that are not gold, So
- 20:41Speaker 4: that means it's super important, more than any other game
- 20:44Speaker 4: that I've ever played, to identify your common and rare
- 20:49Speaker 4: slots that are going to be your staples to build around.
- 20:53Speaker 4: And today I did a poll. I left it up
- 20:55Speaker 4: for like four or five hours that was actually like
- 20:58Speaker 4: pretty split. I think we had twelve maybe eleven, and
- 21:02Speaker 4: it was three for Bravos and then two to two
- 21:04Speaker 4: and then like no one wanted to talk about ortists again.
- 21:06Speaker 4: So we're gonna keep it in theme. Today We're gonna
- 21:09Speaker 4: go Bravos along with Shin long earlier, and I'm gonna
- 21:14Speaker 4: break down the stars. I'm not gonna go through all
- 21:16Speaker 4: with all the cars, do you can look them up.
- 21:19Speaker 4: And then again, are cast is not centered on like
- 21:21Speaker 4: new new newbies. We have plenty of people that are
- 21:25Speaker 4: different variants of skills, but we're expecting people to kind
- 21:27Speaker 4: of know what the cards are. Initially, I'm just highlighting
- 21:30Speaker 4: the stars for the commons in the and the rares
- 21:33Speaker 4: and then kind of give you a little what I
- 21:36Speaker 4: did after I I didn't did this analysis, all right,
- 21:39Speaker 4: So first for Bravos, you gotta know some important things here.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Wookie references being green from the magic, the gathering analog,
- 21:48Speaker 4: you know, comparison. Basically, you're you're fielding value guys like
- 21:53Speaker 4: that is what you're doing in Bravos. It doesn't matter
- 21:56Speaker 4: what hear you choose. You were trying to win the
- 21:58Speaker 4: game by placing larger numbers on your tracks versus their tracks.
- 22:03Speaker 4: The whole time, you're not doing anything else other than
- 22:05Speaker 4: the fancy other than that, and you're generally trying to
- 22:08Speaker 4: achieve I want to push a lane every turn. Sometimes,
- 22:13Speaker 4: of course you want to double push if you can,
- 22:16Speaker 4: but you're never wanting to be defensive, where some heroes
- 22:19Speaker 4: kind of want to do that sometimes, especially at different
- 22:21Speaker 4: intervals of the game, that is not Bravos. You always
- 22:24Speaker 4: want to move on a track. So if that in mind,
- 22:28Speaker 4: here is what I'm having as the common Stars at
- 22:31Speaker 4: the common slot. I think I have how many lists here,
- 22:39Speaker 4: I'm going to give you eight. Seven are going to
- 22:41Speaker 4: be the one that I'm using now on the deck
- 22:44Speaker 4: that I kind of I'll talk about at the end.
- 22:46Speaker 4: But my comments stars a Bravos very basic as the
- 22:49Speaker 4: Bravos Pathfinder. He's a two drop from both puts numbers
- 22:54Speaker 4: on the board. Most importantly, he has a water sat
- 22:58Speaker 4: at three, which is often a weakness with Bravos. Then
- 23:01Speaker 4: I'm going to red another very basic two drop has seasoned.
- 23:06Speaker 4: It's two to two for two. Very solid card in general,
- 23:11Speaker 4: can get can potentially go wild even at common helping
- 23:15Speaker 4: hand the cross of my Bravos journey, I've had it
- 23:20Speaker 4: in and out of decks. I now consider it a
- 23:23Speaker 4: hard Staple. In every deck that I run with Bravos,
- 23:26Speaker 4: I will have three. They will always be at common.
- 23:28Speaker 4: They will never leave my line up having a one drop. Again,
- 23:33Speaker 4: I'm leaning towards I talked about it last week. I'm
- 23:35Speaker 4: leaning hard into Kojo. So this is assuming you have
- 23:39Speaker 4: Kojo along with the fire Dog in all cases. As
- 23:42Speaker 4: far as me considering these the common stars, there are
- 23:45Speaker 4: some use cases for a different hero. Basira is decent.
- 23:49Speaker 4: If the rears of the uniques, like we talked about earlier,
- 23:52Speaker 4: you have three of them. That's the only time I
- 23:54Speaker 4: would ever evensider running Basira right now because Kojo you
- 23:58Speaker 4: kind of do neat bodies on the word because of
- 24:00Speaker 4: the weak control works in this game, and he helps.
- 24:02Speaker 4: The fire Dog helps with that and helping. So the
- 24:06Speaker 4: helping hand is one of the reason why I was
- 24:07Speaker 4: staple you every other turn. You always have an extra
- 24:10Speaker 4: body there. Control is important. That'll be a whole nother
- 24:13Speaker 4: deck constructing thing. So I have Intimidation and man Eruption
- 24:17Speaker 4: as my common stars. I put three of each in
- 24:20Speaker 4: every Bravos deck I make. You just have to have
- 24:23Speaker 4: eruption most importantly. Right now, both of these can hit
- 24:26Speaker 4: Robin hood that's big man eruption will kill the damn
- 24:31Speaker 4: dragons that TJA likes to play on you, and then
- 24:35Speaker 4: they lose. Just hold it like just as soon as
- 24:38Speaker 4: they drop it. Pay the six if you need to,
- 24:41Speaker 4: depending on how many plants they have, and then they
- 24:43Speaker 4: just lose. I one of the ones that has gone
- 24:47Speaker 4: in and out of my rotation until I finally found
- 24:49Speaker 4: the value in it is the Bravos Vanguard. He makes
- 24:54Speaker 4: people lose fleeting, which helps your cycle, which means your
- 24:57Speaker 4: people aren't going away as often. And then the Haven
- 25:02Speaker 4: Warrior is my last addition to this common Stars list.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I mean, I'll kind of talk about how he got
- 25:08Speaker 4: here at the end, and then I have a dual threat,
- 25:12Speaker 4: which is a commons, a commons and a rare star,
- 25:15Speaker 4: and that's Tiny Gin. If you have room for him.
- 25:20Speaker 4: I like him att rare because he's a one drop
- 25:22Speaker 4: there a lot, but he's also really good at the
- 25:27Speaker 4: common level because his power goes up his cost goes
- 25:30Speaker 4: up to But Tiny Gin, in my opinion all around,
- 25:33Speaker 4: is just a great card. I would never have a
- 25:36Speaker 4: Bravo stick that did not have three of them. Whether
- 25:38Speaker 4: he's a rare or common, really depends on what you're
- 25:41Speaker 4: trying to do exactly, but in this current build he
- 25:44Speaker 4: would be the eighth common out and the others would
- 25:47Speaker 4: have seven. It's really important in Bravos more than most
- 25:52Speaker 4: decks that I think you do force the hard number
- 25:55Speaker 4: of threes of everything, because getting cards is huge in Bravos,
- 26:00Speaker 4: Like it is very hard to win a game if
- 26:03Speaker 4: you get two card starved, and that is very easy
- 26:07Speaker 4: to happen to you. So a big part of what
- 26:10Speaker 4: the commons are bringing here is the Bravos helps your
- 26:14Speaker 4: people not be fleeting, like their guys not be fleeting.
- 26:18Speaker 4: You're helping hand helps them not be fleeting as well.
- 26:20Speaker 4: That helps that part of what's going on, and you're
- 26:24Speaker 4: gonna see more of that in the rares, which is
- 26:27Speaker 4: why the Rare Stars are pretty much all Rare Stars
- 26:29Speaker 4: when we get down to it. On my Rare Stars side,
- 26:34Speaker 4: I have tiny gin is there. I love one dropped
- 26:39Speaker 4: on the play. It gives you more options on the
- 26:41Speaker 4: first six in your hand and just jingenal more things
- 26:44Speaker 4: later in the game. Another the Rare Star I have
- 26:48Speaker 4: or to Spy. My favorite thing about this is not
- 26:52Speaker 4: only is it sabotage, it's good to have some sabotage
- 26:54Speaker 4: in every deck, especially against certain heroes like Ismir Devalle.
- 27:00Speaker 4: They play from the backside the reserve for war Despy.
- 27:03Speaker 4: It's only two, which in my opinion makes it way
- 27:07Speaker 4: better than the Haven bouncer, which I don't have. There
- 27:10Speaker 4: is an argument to have them in here, and then
- 27:13Speaker 4: one of the cards that I've probably gone on the
- 27:17Speaker 4: a long trail to get here, but because of being
- 27:20Speaker 4: so card starved physical training, I run three of and
- 27:24Speaker 4: all my brothers at rare because basically you're what you
- 27:28Speaker 4: need to conceptualize it, especially because you have the fire
- 27:30Speaker 4: Dog every other turn. You always have a dude to
- 27:32Speaker 4: start off there because it starts at two two too,
- 27:34Speaker 4: so for three manna, you can make that dog a
- 27:37Speaker 4: five five five and draw a card and it's not
- 27:42Speaker 4: a fleeting spell, so it goes to your reserve, so
- 27:45Speaker 4: you can do that again. Sometimes I've even made the
- 27:48Speaker 4: fire Dog in eight a eight and then I call
- 27:51Speaker 4: them Clifford's sure you might not get that reference. I
- 27:56Speaker 4: got that reference all right, because you just have a
- 28:00Speaker 4: big red dog at eight to eight and you've drawn
- 28:06Speaker 4: two cards, so like that is there, and then I
- 28:09Speaker 4: am on the board that I've hard pivoted into every
- 28:13Speaker 4: red deck should have three rare Bravos Bashians. I occasionally
- 28:19Speaker 4: see people running the common being able to get the
- 28:23Speaker 4: resupply trigger, especially on a turn one able to in
- 28:26Speaker 4: my cases, on turn one, I can drop Rare Tiny
- 28:30Speaker 4: Gin and Haven Bastian and hey, if you're on the play,
- 28:34Speaker 4: you might even have your dog out there. Like Those
- 28:36Speaker 4: starting turns accelerate my game so much, especially because of
- 28:41Speaker 4: the resupply trigger because car draw is the most important
- 28:44Speaker 4: thing for Bravos by a lot, so being able to
- 28:50Speaker 4: have just the three extra resupply triggers in your deck
- 28:53Speaker 4: somewhere from those Bashians, I think edges it out versus
- 28:56Speaker 4: the common slot in every case that I've seen, and
- 29:00Speaker 4: then I have a Normally my fifth rare staple would
- 29:05Speaker 4: have been Mighty Gen, and through this process of crunting
- 29:08Speaker 4: the numbers, I have the Saga of the Mighty Gin.
- 29:11Speaker 4: I loved that card when I first saw it and
- 29:13Speaker 4: played it because it doesn't actually have a draw on there.
- 29:17Speaker 4: But in gameplay I had to get the five rears
- 29:20Speaker 4: that I have here, well, I had the fifth one,
- 29:24Speaker 4: but to get the four of them that are here already,
- 29:28Speaker 4: I had him here, but then I had to cycle
- 29:30Speaker 4: him out because I wanted the axiom Salvager, because the
- 29:34Speaker 4: Salvager is another one drop from hand, which is important
- 29:37Speaker 4: to just gameplay. Most people understand that having one drop
- 29:40Speaker 4: creatures from and is kind of like a big deal
- 29:42Speaker 4: right now. Being able to play a one minuta have
- 29:45Speaker 4: a dude in the field and then force your opponent
- 29:48Speaker 4: to act to it gives you time to set up
- 29:51Speaker 4: to what you're actually going to do that lane, and
- 29:52Speaker 4: if it's a guy, it's even better. And furthermore, it
- 29:56Speaker 4: resupplies from reserve at two, which another half hard doll
- 30:00Speaker 4: feeding into your bastions is absolutely huge. So the Salvager
- 30:05Speaker 4: pushed my gin because he was now my fifth triple
- 30:09Speaker 4: rare to common, which I was using for as a
- 30:13Speaker 4: little bit of a manor ramp there. But then the
- 30:16Speaker 4: more games I played with this exact build, I started
- 30:20Speaker 4: to see that I wasn't actually ramping the gin. I
- 30:22Speaker 4: was actually literally just choosing him for mana because with
- 30:26Speaker 4: the Salvager, with the three physical trainings, the three salvagers,
- 30:30Speaker 4: the three bastions, and the helping hands to make sure
- 30:34Speaker 4: my people weren't fleeting and Furthermore, the vanguards of make
- 30:37Speaker 4: sure that my people weren't fleeting when they come back.
- 30:40Speaker 4: I was having enough cards, so I didn't actually need
- 30:43Speaker 4: the Gin for what its original purpose was. So ultimately
- 30:48Speaker 4: the Haven Warrior edged out the Mighty Gin to be
- 30:52Speaker 4: that slot. So from the start of my Bravos experience
- 30:56Speaker 4: of Mighty Gen being one of my favorite cards through
- 30:59Speaker 4: all of this, you know grinding games is now he's
- 31:04Speaker 4: still a good card. He's just not in my my
- 31:07Speaker 4: star list any longer. So it's a sad day for
- 31:10Speaker 4: the Mighty Gen, great day for the Tiny Gin. I
- 31:13Speaker 4: have them at Rare. I think I will always try
- 31:15Speaker 4: to force that because it's just really good to have
- 31:17Speaker 4: that starting and that way. Then I'm not going to
- 31:21Speaker 4: explain to them, but I have. I have a dud
- 31:23Speaker 4: list bad Bravos cards. In most cases, in my opinion,
- 31:30Speaker 4: Achilles Atlas Haven Trainee, hey H Cua, Milan Kai Bara
- 31:38Speaker 4: Shen Long soon will call the common they're out of faction.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Bad ones are aja Asmodius Mind Apotheosis is one of
- 31:47Speaker 4: the worst cards in this game, and another super dud
- 31:53Speaker 4: only at Rare is mana channeling like those are one
- 31:57Speaker 4: really really bad cards. So when I was done with
- 32:04Speaker 4: all of some, I know some of the ones of
- 32:06Speaker 4: the cast were paying attention to my like shenanigans throughout
- 32:08Speaker 4: the day, I looked at my own Kojo deck and
- 32:11Speaker 4: I was like, well, this doesn't really match this list.
- 32:16Speaker 4: So I was like, well, maybe I should tweak it.
- 32:19Speaker 4: So I tweaked up this exactly, the seven comments and
- 32:23Speaker 4: the five rayars, and I played ten games appropriation for
- 32:27Speaker 4: the show. Everything in one of them was an arena,
- 32:29Speaker 4: mostly against elites, and I went nine and one. I
- 32:32Speaker 4: was like, hey, I probably could have actually done this
- 32:34Speaker 4: process a long time ago, but I did. I did
- 32:37Speaker 4: have a pretty good day. My alternate, I think, is
- 32:41Speaker 4: now ranked two fifty, so that's cool. Yeah, that was
- 32:46Speaker 4: a lot of me. So what are y'all thinking of
- 32:47Speaker 4: some of the things. I know most of y'all have
- 32:49Speaker 4: not played Bravos, but thoughts here.
- 32:52Speaker 6: I feel like your deck needs more removal overall, almost inhabitation.
- 32:59Speaker 6: The sabotage and then the manner of eruption doesn't seem
- 33:02Speaker 6: like enough.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I feel like there's there are only nine more.
- 33:05Speaker 6: Sabotage might help.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I just don't like a tanuki or tooth fairy people
- 33:13Speaker 4: do tend to run bouncer, but the value loss to
- 33:17Speaker 4: me versus pushing is is rough. Yeah, like I I
- 33:23Speaker 4: in my ten games, I will only think I ran
- 33:27Speaker 4: into one Waru. I did win. My lonely loss was
- 33:31Speaker 4: the Turbo who saw all three of their bastions by
- 33:34Speaker 4: turn two. It was a little salty about that. It's
- 33:40Speaker 4: very happy.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll have to double check again. But I I
- 33:46Speaker 5: made a Basierra deck.
- 33:49Speaker 6: Uh.
- 33:49Speaker 7: It does really well early, but then it just can't
- 33:53Speaker 7: keep up cards.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and I don't.
- 33:57Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure I'm gonna double check. I don't have
- 34:02Speaker 7: any Havens there there, that's yep. And I don't have
- 34:08Speaker 7: enough Mighty Jins either, So that's the one.
- 34:11Speaker 4: That eventually phased out for me. And I guess I
- 34:14Speaker 4: didn't say this was a good to the card haven
- 34:16Speaker 4: Bravos Bashit at Rare, in my opinion, is the only
- 34:20Speaker 4: true superstar card I have out of all of these
- 34:25Speaker 4: twelve staples. I would never play Bravos deck without three
- 34:30Speaker 4: of those at rare.
- 34:33Speaker 7: Yeah, and I would like to make a Kojo deck,
- 34:35Speaker 7: but I have zero of the rare.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. The Rare is also coincidentally one of the
- 34:43Speaker 4: higher value cards on the market. As far as cards go,
- 34:46Speaker 4: I don't think it's nearly as much as the one
- 34:48Speaker 4: that is in Turbo, the flip card, because Turbo just
- 34:52Speaker 4: doesn't work without that card.
- 34:54Speaker 8: And I think the last people were talking about it
- 34:56Speaker 8: is most expensive.
- 35:00Speaker 5: The fire Dog.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, number one, that's a cat.
- 35:04Speaker 2: You know, went through that.
- 35:07Speaker 3: We went through this. Yeah, that's definitely a cat, not
- 35:09Speaker 3: a dog.
- 35:10Speaker 5: It is a cheetah.
- 35:13Speaker 2: It's a dog.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Last week, Lookie, good to see you.
- 35:18Speaker 3: We we looked up the l I heard it last
- 35:21Speaker 3: week and I was like, you know what, I don't
- 35:23Speaker 3: remember the art enough to weigh in one way or
- 35:26Speaker 3: the other. And I'm sitting here and I'm like, it's
- 35:28Speaker 3: definitely a cat.
- 35:30Speaker 2: If you look at the if you look at the
- 35:32Speaker 2: promo card, it is very clearly a cheetah. But that
- 35:36Speaker 2: has not stopped Zee from referring to the dog.
- 35:38Speaker 4: I will concede that it is a cheetah named fighter Dog. Okay,
- 35:44Speaker 4: that's its name, guys, named fire Dog. That's his nickname.
- 35:50Speaker 4: You have to really know it to know that. You
- 35:53Speaker 4: just need a better relationship. I have a question for you.
- 35:56Speaker 2: So you you've I know you've picked up the commons,
- 35:58Speaker 2: you picked up the right rares, what kind of uniques
- 36:01Speaker 2: would you fit into this deck? Then? Like, what the
- 36:03Speaker 2: kind of abilities are you looking for?
- 36:05Speaker 4: It actually does get quite interesting because like the uniques
- 36:09Speaker 4: in this game can shape a deck. But let's say
- 36:12Speaker 4: I don't want to redesign this because like if I
- 36:15Speaker 4: had three of those shinlong Esh creatures, I would almost
- 36:20Speaker 4: run this exact deck and with me, I would probably
- 36:25Speaker 4: fit flip out the Bravos pathfinders with Sharon's because they
- 36:29Speaker 4: can do something else to potentially hit your guy right,
- 36:33Speaker 4: But that might be the only thing I would change
- 36:35Speaker 4: and then just search for that type of unique. But
- 36:37Speaker 4: if I just wanted to really really double down on
- 36:40Speaker 4: what this deck is really good at the two, the
- 36:45Speaker 4: main thing that would be the most valuable would be
- 36:49Speaker 4: pump that is not named Aja, like mana ramp that
- 36:52Speaker 4: is not named Aja that would be a really really
- 36:55Speaker 4: good thing. Like like I was like, basically I lost
- 36:58Speaker 4: the Mighty Gin here in this lineup right, it doesn't
- 37:00Speaker 4: exist in what I'm using. If I got three Mighty
- 37:04Speaker 4: Gins that had a maximum minute cost of no matter
- 37:07Speaker 4: where they're from, of four that had the ip I
- 37:12Speaker 4: can ramp and draw if I don't leave, like it
- 37:15Speaker 4: would have to literally literally be identical to the rare.
- 37:20Speaker 4: That would be the perfect edition at unique to this deck.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Like if I could literally just take three Mighty Gins
- 37:26Speaker 4: that did exactly what the rare does, it would be
- 37:30Speaker 4: amazing in here. I think that would be the biggest
- 37:33Speaker 4: unique that I think I could legitimately find in the
- 37:35Speaker 4: wild for like not a lot of money. Like that
- 37:39Speaker 4: is where I would go with the way it is
- 37:41Speaker 4: built up right now. There are some insane things out
- 37:45Speaker 4: there though, so if I was like talking about super
- 37:48Speaker 4: insane wants, it would just basically be anything that is
- 37:53Speaker 4: super cheap that just draws cards. Like if I could
- 37:56Speaker 4: get a two or three that drew a card on
- 37:59Speaker 4: an arrow, that would be literally the perfect card for
- 38:02Speaker 4: this deck.
- 38:03Speaker 6: As how well would the deck look different if it
- 38:09Speaker 6: was a Bassira? And why do you think that Basira
- 38:13Speaker 6: isn't really competitive right now?
- 38:16Speaker 4: Just the way that creature control works for right now
- 38:18Speaker 4: is because no matter what, you're generally hitting the same
- 38:22Speaker 4: numbers with either hero just with Kojo, you were doing
- 38:27Speaker 4: it with one one more character every other turn than
- 38:31Speaker 4: you're than you are with Basira. You are literally feeling
- 38:35Speaker 4: the one less character in play every other turn of
- 38:39Speaker 4: the game for almost identical net stats across the course
- 38:44Speaker 4: of the same game.
- 38:46Speaker 5: Yeah, think about Bassira.
- 38:47Speaker 7: It's basically, uh a, not as good as Festa.
- 38:55Speaker 6: I've been running Bassira is with a whole bunch of
- 38:58Speaker 6: seasoned dudes and you keep replaying them with helping hands.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but you just mentioned, like I think my A
- 39:05Speaker 4: level of control is fine, but you said it was
- 39:07Speaker 4: light if I'm running. If you're saying there's most ex
- 39:11Speaker 4: have more than this. They are already, by your own
- 39:15Speaker 4: like suggestion, way better at crushing Basira than this than
- 39:19Speaker 4: a Kojo, because other than one card in this whole
- 39:22Speaker 4: damn game, control spells just hit one thing unless they
- 39:28Speaker 4: are running Kraken's Wrath or whatever it's called Wrath of
- 39:32Speaker 4: the Krack in the.
- 39:33Speaker 6: There's another seven cost one two.
- 39:36Speaker 4: No one runs that, but people actually do run the
- 39:39Speaker 4: kracking thing.
- 39:39Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, people are on the Crack and Wrath.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's and there's only two factions that can
- 39:43Speaker 4: even run that. One of them does not run it.
- 39:45Speaker 4: So it's really just ismir Ismir is the only one
- 39:49Speaker 4: that is more effective against the Kojo than the Bsira
- 39:52Speaker 4: and everyone else is just great against Basira based on
- 39:55Speaker 4: the way they design their control from go.
- 40:02Speaker 3: So what did you learn? I mean, we obviously know
- 40:06Speaker 3: kind of where the meta is headed. How did it
- 40:10Speaker 3: stack up? Metawise is something that just hasn't been discovered
- 40:16Speaker 3: yet because the game is so new, or do you
- 40:19Speaker 3: feel like it's still not quite stacking?
- 40:25Speaker 1: I mean.
- 40:27Speaker 4: From my nine and one experience recently, I note that's
- 40:29Speaker 4: actually really small and somewhat inconsequential data set because I
- 40:35Speaker 4: don't know, Like I I did beat some people I
- 40:37Speaker 4: knew that were in events in that in that set,
- 40:40Speaker 4: I bet I beat a pretty really a pretty good
- 40:43Speaker 4: fin that's been placing pretty well in some of the
- 40:45Speaker 4: locals recent like my last game. Actually I thought I
- 40:47Speaker 4: was gonna lose and I paid with them. I was like, well,
- 40:49Speaker 4: I'm about to get crushed.
- 40:50Speaker 2: I was like, nope.
- 40:50Speaker 4: I took it, Like I play all of these top decks.
- 40:55Speaker 4: I felt really good about this. I think I said
- 40:58Speaker 4: this about a couple of decks. If robin Hood wasn't
- 41:01Speaker 4: a bureaucrat, I think I would actually be pretty comfortable
- 41:04Speaker 4: with running it as a potential candidate going into a
- 41:08Speaker 4: big event.
- 41:10Speaker 7: I think we'll talk about it a little later. But
- 41:13Speaker 7: Kojo hit ninth in.
- 41:18Speaker 8: The first big tournament in the US, So I mean,
- 41:21Speaker 8: ninth isn't terrible when you're going up against twice as
- 41:26Speaker 8: many warriors and fens as Kojo's.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Well, And I think some of the some of my
- 41:34Speaker 4: gameplay approved with Kojo a lot over time. There was
- 41:37Speaker 4: one match where I drew intimidate, and I guess this
- 41:43Speaker 4: goes to like what you're saying dexter about, like the
- 41:46Speaker 4: number of control you have to be very purposeful for
- 41:49Speaker 4: when you use the control that you have with this build.
- 41:51Speaker 4: The bill is meant to be aggressive on the board
- 41:54Speaker 4: and use its control only when it's absolutely necessary, but
- 41:57Speaker 4: you do need to know when you actually have to
- 41:59Speaker 4: have it there. But there's one game I've paired up
- 42:02Speaker 4: to ents of funess. I recognized the name of the player,
- 42:04Speaker 4: so I knew I was in like I'm in a
- 42:06Speaker 4: battle here in my first six cards, it was like
- 42:09Speaker 4: a bunch of dudes in one intimidation. I chose to
- 42:13Speaker 4: take a less optimal start of that game and held
- 42:18Speaker 4: the intimidation from turn one all the way till the
- 42:23Speaker 4: end of the game, where I was able to intimidate
- 42:25Speaker 4: two of his dudes off of the board and then
- 42:29Speaker 4: double push for the win. Whereas if I had not
- 42:32Speaker 4: held those both of them, like the one card I
- 42:34Speaker 4: had at the beginning and the one that I got later,
- 42:37Speaker 4: I would have been able, like not able to get
- 42:40Speaker 4: one of the lanes, and then we would have both
- 42:41Speaker 4: been like next to each other, and then I know
- 42:43Speaker 4: he had small stuff. There's just guarantee that they have it.
- 42:46Speaker 4: They draw too many cards not to have it. So
- 42:50Speaker 4: had I not done the hold from the start of
- 42:52Speaker 4: the game, I would have lost that game. Because I
- 42:55Speaker 4: have played I play a funess a lot myself, so
- 42:57Speaker 4: I know their weakness. Their weakness is at the end
- 43:00Speaker 4: of this game, they are going to land a dude,
- 43:03Speaker 4: They're gonna make them hit twelve twelve by casting a
- 43:05Speaker 4: billion spells potentially on both sides, which is what he
- 43:08Speaker 4: did because he played two category and whatever, and they
- 43:12Speaker 4: were both like one was the sevens all the way
- 43:14Speaker 4: down when was eight's all the way down, And I
- 43:16Speaker 4: intimidated both of them straight off the board to close
- 43:22Speaker 4: that out. So like I think playing a lot of
- 43:27Speaker 4: heroes has helped, like just get better with like the
- 43:31Speaker 4: ones you have, but you definitely need to hold the
- 43:33Speaker 4: tools that you have for when they actually matter.
- 43:38Speaker 3: All right, if you want more deck construction tips, I
- 43:40Speaker 3: think this is a good time to pimp our Patreon.
- 43:44Speaker 3: You guys can head over to and if patreon dot
- 43:47Speaker 3: com forward slash altered corner, maybe posting some articles, some
- 43:52Speaker 3: more audio stuff over there. As he wants to, we
- 43:56Speaker 3: can post some more stuff over there. This is the
- 44:00Speaker 3: kind of stuff he'll be going through for all the
- 44:02Speaker 3: other factions.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we're gonna do one more like this,
- 44:06Speaker 4: which I'll do a poll here in the week on
- 44:09Speaker 4: the in the discord to see which one you all
- 44:11Speaker 4: want to hear, and then the other four factions. This
- 44:13Speaker 4: is to take a little longer as far as the
- 44:15Speaker 4: casting goes are going to be in in the Patreon
- 44:18Speaker 4: for those that have it. You also have some other
- 44:21Speaker 4: cool features and if we get enough Patreons, we're gonna
- 44:24Speaker 4: do a bi monthly. I don't know if that's why.
- 44:26Speaker 4: I would say that. Whatever means every other month by
- 44:29Speaker 4: monthly tournament for people and they can win a box.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Once we get to I think I put thirty two
- 44:34Speaker 4: people in there, so if we're going to get up
- 44:36Speaker 4: to thirty two every other month will throw you a
- 44:39Speaker 4: invite only tournament and the winner will get their own
- 44:41Speaker 4: display of retail altered.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Alrighty, let's head over to Metalliance with Zach. He's going
- 44:51Speaker 3: to tell you all about robin Hood and why you
- 44:53Speaker 3: should be banned.
- 44:54Speaker 4: No, I don't think that's what he's coming at to me.
- 44:57Speaker 2: That no, no, no, no, it's the question is when
- 45:01Speaker 2: to play robin Hood. That's That's what I'm gonna talk about.
- 45:03Speaker 3: When robin Hood got.
- 45:05Speaker 2: No, No, not that, not this time. Maybe that'll be
- 45:09Speaker 2: a maybe that'll be another future week's Metatague. Yeah, we'll see.
- 45:14Speaker 2: All right, So this week we're gonna be so last
- 45:17Speaker 2: week we talked about Bountifle Metal and or this attorney
- 45:20Speaker 2: starting off with war Round Mac because the first turn.
- 45:24Speaker 2: So now we're gonna talk into day two or beyond. Ideally,
- 45:29Speaker 2: you you know when to play robin Hood, And the
- 45:32Speaker 2: shorter answer is always right, you always want to play
- 45:34Speaker 2: robin Hood, but when exactly do you want to play it?
- 45:39Speaker 2: And there's a couple of different scenarios that I'll talk
- 45:42Speaker 2: with me about and that have I have come across
- 45:44Speaker 2: my own play. Ideally, turn to day two, you're on
- 45:50Speaker 2: the play, meaning that it is going to be your turn.
- 45:53Speaker 2: You're playing the card first, right, you're gonna drop your
- 45:56Speaker 2: robin hood. That would potentially mess up your opponents, you know,
- 46:00Speaker 2: relatively what they had figured out that they were going
- 46:02Speaker 2: to be playing. And then they also kind of assume
- 46:03Speaker 2: that too. Right, if it's turned to day two, four
- 46:06Speaker 2: man to turn WARU, you have to be concerned that
- 46:09Speaker 2: they're going to have robin hood, especially on the play,
- 46:11Speaker 2: because it's going to make all their cards cost one more.
- 46:14Speaker 2: And I'm talking about their rare robin hood here. There
- 46:18Speaker 2: are some other intricacies to this that I've come across
- 46:24Speaker 2: as far as like even if you're not on the play,
- 46:28Speaker 2: so like day three, Day four, day five, depending on
- 46:32Speaker 2: your opponent. Right, And again, this is what we've been
- 46:34Speaker 2: kind of mentioning throughout the cast this time, is knowing
- 46:38Speaker 2: your opponent, knowing what your opponent is bringing to the table,
- 46:41Speaker 2: knowing what they need and all that. The other day,
- 46:44Speaker 2: I was playing against a traced deck Turbo trace, and
- 46:50Speaker 2: they played I think it was a six or seven
- 46:52Speaker 2: man of turn. I don't really recall, but they played
- 46:55Speaker 2: a one cost card that first turn, and I had
- 46:59Speaker 2: robin and hand. I immediately took the turn to play
- 47:04Speaker 2: Robin to make the rest of their turn that much
- 47:07Speaker 2: more expensive, right, And it did win me that day.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I did end up losing the game because this that
- 47:15Speaker 2: the traced I only saw the one Robin, and by
- 47:20Speaker 2: the end of the turn the opponent had drawn more
- 47:22Speaker 2: cards than I did as a war room bag player,
- 47:25Speaker 2: which was like baffling to me. It was very, very concerned.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I think he ended up having like twelve cards left
- 47:31Speaker 2: in his deck and I had fourteen, So we went
- 47:33Speaker 2: through a lot of cards. So back to robin.
- 47:39Speaker 5: It.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Ideally you do want to put it on the play, right,
- 47:43Speaker 2: that is the most opportunity to play it, because then
- 47:45Speaker 2: again it taxes your whole poems turn. You're going to
- 47:48Speaker 2: put it to sleep. There's other potential ways to keep
- 47:50Speaker 2: Robin hood of a sleeping on the board. I already
- 47:53Speaker 2: talked about trace a finest with another one, right, or
- 47:56Speaker 2: even if someone is playing as Akisha right after, you
- 48:00Speaker 2: effect likely going to see that. But that's what you
- 48:04Speaker 2: want to see, right, They pass it over to you
- 48:06Speaker 2: and there you go. Taxes taxes with plenty of fundus
- 48:09Speaker 2: we've talked about they're looking to play a billion spells.
- 48:12Speaker 2: They're looking to play very cheap cards to undercut everything.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Robin is going to make it more expensive, which again,
- 48:19Speaker 2: even off the play could think make things more expensive.
- 48:23Speaker 2: That's what I found in my experience. I don't know
- 48:26Speaker 2: if either any of you guys have any differing thoughts
- 48:30Speaker 2: on that, but that is kind of where I'm thinking
- 48:33Speaker 2: about when when to play Robin. Ideally, in a.
- 48:38Speaker 7: Turn, my thoughts are never ever playing. I am willing
- 48:45Speaker 7: to give away all.
- 48:46Speaker 8: Of my oldest cards to whoever wants them.
- 48:50Speaker 4: Goodness the Fawnness is an interesting matchup I think when
- 48:55Speaker 4: you're when you're talking about the metal line of playing Robinhood,
- 48:58Speaker 4: because like you're not guaranteed to see more right, kind
- 49:03Speaker 4: of like what I was talking about. Like literally, it's
- 49:05Speaker 4: the same matchup I was facing a Fawnas and a
- 49:08Speaker 4: Fawnas's power is their in game again, their in game
- 49:11Speaker 4: is actually really shorter than most other players because they
- 49:13Speaker 4: just need to get to next to each other. Every
- 49:16Speaker 4: is Mere player from now to the end of time
- 49:19Speaker 4: is going to have at least one small step in
- 49:22Speaker 4: their deck, probably two. Some crazies out there even have three,
- 49:27Speaker 4: especially Akishas, because they do the thing the gimmick. But
- 49:33Speaker 4: as far as the robin Hood play against a fawnas,
- 49:37Speaker 4: I don't know, Like like your scenario was, like if
- 49:41Speaker 4: it's day one, they're going first day two, you're on
- 49:44Speaker 4: the play first with for MANA, I don't actually know
- 49:49Speaker 4: if it is correct to drop Robinhood at that time,
- 49:55Speaker 4: because the idea it's like a you know, exponential value
- 50:05Speaker 4: curve that exists in the funness, like they are going
- 50:08Speaker 4: to get to like every turn they're building their their
- 50:10Speaker 4: little engine that they do to speuseling and their turn too.
- 50:15Speaker 4: Isn't that remarkable in almost all cases, even with the
- 50:18Speaker 4: crazy uniques that they have, and there are some, they
- 50:21Speaker 4: don't actually do that much turn too, because they return
- 50:24Speaker 4: a spell, they draw some cards. That's what their uniques
- 50:26Speaker 4: can do.
- 50:28Speaker 3: And.
- 50:30Speaker 4: Playing your Robinhood doesn't actually slow that down in a
- 50:35Speaker 4: measurable way. So I think if I'm second to act
- 50:42Speaker 4: and I start the game with robin Hood, the time
- 50:46Speaker 4: you play it is your day four, even if you
- 50:54Speaker 4: started the game with it, I think that is the answer.
- 50:56Speaker 4: As far as like metaplay.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I could see that, especially that means you have.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Two more days to draw your second one in addition,
- 51:04Speaker 4: and even if you don't.
- 51:08Speaker 2: You still have that pocket one.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Well, my point is, like, let's say in the scenario
- 51:12Speaker 4: that you don't draw your second robin hood, oh yeah,
- 51:15Speaker 4: because you have the pocket one. But they could probably
- 51:17Speaker 4: deal with that some kind of way. If you don't
- 51:21Speaker 4: draw your second one, that means they would have gotten
- 51:23Speaker 4: all of their turn three, turn four value. Well, they
- 51:28Speaker 4: would have gotten all of their turn five and turn
- 51:30Speaker 4: six value even without assuming they didn't answer it or whatever.
- 51:34Speaker 4: No matter what I think, playing it on turn for
- 51:40Speaker 4: it either forces them to like basically skip that turn
- 51:43Speaker 4: by addressing it with like a banish, because off you
- 51:46Speaker 4: go won't work. So generally they're coming at you with banish,
- 51:51Speaker 4: and that means they're skipping their turn four, which is
- 51:54Speaker 4: a better slot for you to skip because you could
- 51:56Speaker 4: at least play another bureaucrat that costs to that same
- 51:59Speaker 4: turn and not be forced into a turn where you
- 52:01Speaker 4: don't have a bureau.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Crep mm hm, you know, yeah, I think that. I
- 52:06Speaker 2: think the day two is it Again, It's always dependent
- 52:09Speaker 2: on the opponent, right.
- 52:10Speaker 4: Like, yeah, but I think that might be the only
- 52:12Speaker 4: hero where I would do that, because they not all
- 52:15Speaker 4: the other heroes like Ramp at that specific time.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Yeah, because they're going to be building throughout.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Yeah, because if it's trace you definitely play it turned
- 52:25Speaker 4: two because that actually stops them from hitting their exponential curve.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Which again in that game against trace it, I saw
- 52:33Speaker 2: the robin relatively late. I think it was like day
- 52:36Speaker 2: three or four, and by that point it was already
- 52:38Speaker 2: two hanes out and game over.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Any possimbly play him against just the funness. I think
- 52:46Speaker 4: day four is the drop time and if you're off
- 52:50Speaker 4: cycle or whatever, day five, right, like, I think that
- 52:54Speaker 4: is that's where you're at as far as playing against them.
- 52:56Speaker 4: And I know this so well because I play with
- 53:00Speaker 4: honest and I want it to be so good and
- 53:02Speaker 4: I feel every one of these losses in a personal way.
- 53:08Speaker 2: And is it usually Robin hood that's that's causing the problems?
- 53:14Speaker 4: Actually no, Like I generally they don't do this. There
- 53:17Speaker 4: are people that if they've done this to me, they
- 53:19Speaker 4: would have auto beat me. So that's cool. Everyone knows that. Now,
- 53:25Speaker 4: just stop saying these things. Uh, most of the time
- 53:29Speaker 4: right now, I think my biggest issue with a fondness
- 53:33Speaker 4: is when I run into other speed decks like Turbo,
- 53:37Speaker 4: Like if Turbo lands there bashing on turn one or
- 53:39Speaker 4: turn two like that is very hard for me to
- 53:42Speaker 4: deal with because even if I banishing gait it, that's
- 53:45Speaker 4: four for two, Like that's that sucks. Like it's a
- 53:50Speaker 4: hard hard pill to to and you have to do it,
- 53:53Speaker 4: like I have to play banishing gate on it because
- 53:56Speaker 4: their value is too high for that card.
- 54:00Speaker 2: So are you going to be covered? Why a second
- 54:02Speaker 2: keyboards next week that you give away your secrets of
- 54:04Speaker 2: how to beat?
- 54:07Speaker 3: Oh my god, I did it?
- 54:11Speaker 4: That?
- 54:13Speaker 2: It is so it is so ingrained.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Where are some counters the robin hood? Like we talked
- 54:21Speaker 3: about we talked about fan like, how do I what
- 54:25Speaker 3: are Maybe that's a subject for next week. What's the countermeatter?
- 54:28Speaker 3: Right now? Looking at what are the decks we're trying
- 54:31Speaker 3: to get around this? There's gotta be.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Everyone's email equo in play?
- 54:42Speaker 2: In play, I would say the biggest workaround is for
- 54:46Speaker 2: at least that I've seen, is sabotage.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:49Speaker 2: You wait for him to go to the reserve, and
- 54:51Speaker 2: you try to burn it as quickly as you can.
- 54:53Speaker 2: That is typically how my robins have gone away before
- 54:57Speaker 2: I could get maximum value out of them.
- 55:00Speaker 7: One of the other better ways is cloth cocoon. It's
- 55:05Speaker 7: so expensive, so the decks that usually.
- 55:08Speaker 4: It's that's at least four for four, A lot of
- 55:10Speaker 4: people are paying more than four.
- 55:12Speaker 7: Yeah, so because I mean, you know, if you're against
- 55:14Speaker 7: a Waru, they're going to sleep Robin yep, or if
- 55:19Speaker 7: it comes from reserve, it's going to be fleeting, or
- 55:21Speaker 7: if for some wild reason it gets anchored, it's you know,
- 55:25Speaker 7: a prime target for a cloth cocoon.
- 55:27Speaker 4: No, absolutely, if you're playing Lira or Amona, you better
- 55:31Speaker 4: have three cloth cocoons in your deck. Spoiler alert for
- 55:34Speaker 4: the future, those will be on the superstar lists because
- 55:39Speaker 4: right now, Waru is king, and there is no better
- 55:43Speaker 4: card to have in your deck than cloth cocoon, whether
- 55:46Speaker 4: it's robinhood or not. Like, it will kill the sleeper,
- 55:49Speaker 4: And if you can get them to start a tournam
- 55:51Speaker 4: without a bureaucrat, that's about as best you can hope
- 55:54Speaker 4: for against those decks, as long as possible, as.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Long as that goes how this want gives it again,
- 56:04Speaker 3: we can cover this on a different day. Because I
- 56:06Speaker 3: was like, who's the king of removal right now? Like, what,
- 56:08Speaker 3: who's who's got the most of it.
- 56:10Speaker 7: Artis, which is Warrew and Siggy no like technically is
- 56:17Speaker 7: the but I just feel like I don't get removed
- 56:21Speaker 7: as much by anyone but ortis.
- 56:24Speaker 4: That's because of the mills. Right now, they're just running
- 56:28Speaker 4: to spouseling. You need to run ones and twos and
- 56:31Speaker 4: that is not removal. But they do have more removal
- 56:34Speaker 4: cards than any other house.
- 56:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I would.
- 56:40Speaker 7: I would say, I wish that the next sections that
- 56:44Speaker 7: we're gonna go over would show what takes down a
- 56:48Speaker 7: war but they just kind of reinforce that there is
- 56:52Speaker 7: nothing that takes down a warrior.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Yet a bad card draws. That's what's been taking me down.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Remove Robinhood from the bureaucracy hand disruption. I don't know
- 57:05Speaker 4: that there's there's one card in the game that does that,
- 57:08Speaker 4: and it's not good. It sucks, and it's even less
- 57:12Speaker 4: useful against Warrio because Warhoo draws better than any other faction.
- 57:16Speaker 3: It's said, ah, Blue, Well, it's check into the marketplace, Zee,
- 57:21Speaker 3: what can I buy all right? Starter box for and
- 57:25Speaker 3: a retail box for.
- 57:26Speaker 4: As we were going through the Metal Line, I did
- 57:29Speaker 4: the Googles. I have it right here. I just searched
- 57:32Speaker 4: this minutes ago if you were in the market for
- 57:35Speaker 4: a retail box, so no gold packs in that, but
- 57:39Speaker 4: gives you lots of rares and some unichs like four
- 57:42Speaker 4: and a half a box. Looks like you can get
- 57:44Speaker 4: one for eighty four to ninety nine. Still it is
- 57:47Speaker 4: a fantastic price. That is like forty percent below MSRP,
- 57:53Speaker 4: and that is looks like gamers Guild in Arizona. And
- 57:56Speaker 4: if you scrolling around I see some other prices for
- 57:59Speaker 4: the retails, it looks like it's going from eighty five
- 58:02Speaker 4: that I just set up to one twenty. So that's
- 58:04Speaker 4: where we're at. And then the forty kickstarter versions, which
- 58:11Speaker 4: I feel like these have got to be running out soon.
- 58:13Speaker 4: They're pretty much gone over in Europe. But here in
- 58:16Speaker 4: the States, gamers Field still has the lowest price here too.
- 58:21Speaker 4: They were at two ten they are now at one,
- 58:25Speaker 4: and you can get the god packs there. You could
- 58:28Speaker 4: pack pop gold and get ten uniques from one of
- 58:31Speaker 4: those bad Boy packs.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Pretty good price, that's real good. Yeah, buy me some
- 58:39Speaker 2: kicks off their retail of two five like that. Yeah,
- 58:42Speaker 2: it's good price.
- 58:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it's more, it's less than I spent on the
- 58:47Speaker 8: one I was able.
- 58:48Speaker 4: To Yeah, no, it's some so yeah, there is still
- 58:53Speaker 4: a really good prices on product right now. Europe is
- 58:57Speaker 4: having a hell of a time getting stuff. People are
- 59:00Speaker 4: like trying to get it shipped to them, which is
- 59:01Speaker 4: a fortune and take forever. So if things are selling
- 59:06Speaker 4: for two hundred and twenty euros for Kickstarter over there,
- 59:09Speaker 4: I have no idea about the retail, but I think
- 59:11Speaker 4: it's probably like one forty euro so it's quite a
- 59:16Speaker 4: bit more over there where they are sold out.
- 59:20Speaker 3: That's our marketplace, all righty Cole, tell me about they're
- 59:23Speaker 3: in there.
- 59:25Speaker 5: They're in there.
- 59:26Speaker 7: It's because there are a lot of events, so they
- 59:30Speaker 7: are listed for events of course, first and foremost, I'm
- 59:36Speaker 7: going to tell you to join the discord because we
- 59:39Speaker 7: keep them all nice and pinned in each metro for Texas.
- 59:44Speaker 7: But of course we do not want to leave those
- 59:48Speaker 7: out that cannot make it to their store. And while
- 59:52Speaker 7: we cannot give you adventure pass levels, we have a
- 59:57Speaker 7: lot of good prizes going on in different online events.
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: So we're gonna dive into it a little deeper in
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: some next section here.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: But we did finish.
- 1:00:11Speaker 8: Ace Tuesday recently.
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: Luca still reigns the champion with Waru in first place
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: and a newcomer Keelon Guy in second place, also on Waru.
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: Right after that another online tournament A Wall on Wednesdays,
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: Keelan Guy took first with Waru and second was Maddox
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: with what do you what do you guys think? Then
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: it was second place for Maddix also playing mariw.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: So our event literally the day before it was the
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: same match in the semifinals it was Keilon versus Maddox
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: and one and went on to become second to Pluca.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: So they literally just had a rematch in the finals
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: the very next day.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: Yep, and I think in a Wall Pluca tried a
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: new deck out and did not make it in the top.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: Was it was it not a Waru deck?
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: It is?
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: It is a deck.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: It was just different, don't I don't know anything further
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: than that. Keelan Guy has some coverage of the events,
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: I think on his YouTube, so you can also look
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: for that. I wanted to make sure and shout out
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: any new events or organized play opportunities that are popping
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: up in Texas.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: So printed people.
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: In San Antonio has started a new weekly event. I
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: believe Saturday is supposed to be the usual day.
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: So for more information, join our discord or look.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: For printed people in San Antonio.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: I did want to ask Dexter about Bedrock. We don't
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: have a weekly setup yet, so no information on that.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: But you played in what kind of event last week
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: at Bedrock?
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: So I think it was was that last week might
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: have been last week. They just did a draft there
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: and to learn to play. So we had eight people,
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: I believe, and I think three or four of them
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: had never even played the game before, so they got
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: introduced to it. The people there like it. There is
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: like a change of management at the store right now,
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: so they're having to figure out what they're going to
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: do with all organized play and stuff. But they should
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: be doing a monthly event down there whatever. It'll probably
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: rotate between constructed and draft or sealed. I have no
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: idea to actually be able to get their hands on Oppax, though,
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: we'll see.
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: Yeah, it shouldn't It shouldn't be too hard if they
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: sign up for a store account and then it's just
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: based on how much product they order for the story
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: as far as I know, yep. So that is all
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: of your local kind of more small events, but still
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: lots of good prizing or opportunities for op PAX if.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: You are able to play in person.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: And then since we last talked, there was the first
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: big tournament in the US, which we will dive a
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: little deeper into. We do have some analytics from our
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: ACE tournament collected for.
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: Two weeks now. While it's not.
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: Any different than you would imagine, I feel like.
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: We are starting to see the meta slowly start to diversify.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: What do you guys think?
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Am I just helpful?
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: I mean this pie has got a decent section of
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: all of them were obviously they can't see this, but like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: I mean, here we are a breakdown. The highest percentage
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: is sixteen percent at SIGI and War was thirteen percent,
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: and there's two others that are at eleven with Kojo
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: and Finn, Like that's that's pretty good, and then the
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: rest are like seven nine percent. Like there's a lot
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: of variety in our event, which I'm super happy to see.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: We've had a lot of.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: People play in the event. How many I don't know
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: how many people we had Tuesday. I guess I could
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: do this thing. No, not really, huh.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: We we fill up every time and we cap it
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: on at sixty four.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: It's yeah, we had thirty seven play last week, and
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: then the week before that we had thirty eight. So yeah,
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: like that is you know, I think in total that's
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: roughly due to the number that weren't in the first one,
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: like forty five unique players playing a pretty brought a
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: rate of heroes, So we're seeing a lot of stuff enter. Yes,
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: has won both events and even the top two of
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: both events, but we are still seeing a lot of
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: people entering with a lot of different heroes. Did Zach
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: kojo on Tuesday? Let's go all right, fired dog?
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: Did someone just notice an error because I just watched
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: the graph changes we're sitting here talking I did not?
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: Or did someone accidentally elbow?
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: The last week's data was a little bit skewed because
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: of the filter, and I'll have to fix that. I'm
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: on data. God, that that was not That is not
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: a self flacreamed title. That was that was coal. That's
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: called me that.
- 1:05:47Speaker 7: So I I like to see the hero breakdown now
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: and it's kind of evening out a little bit. The
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: top eight is still you know, very art is heavy.
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: I've said for the past couple of weeks I think
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: Traced is the dark horse, so I hope we see
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: some really really good decks in that area. If not
- 1:06:12Speaker 7: fenn Ben, you know, it's always been our obvious second
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: place runner.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Kojo Tuesday, let's go.
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: I mean, I believe it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: We don't have the information for it here because it
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: was I think ninth place. But at the Gamers Guild
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: Arizona tournament, from what I've heard, there was a Kojo
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: that hit ninth place. So I will just run really
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: quickly through the breakdown of Gamers Guild Arizona as a whole,
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: then we can kind of see how we feel about that.
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: So Waru had thirteen players. Five of those were in
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: the top eight, and one of them was the winner,
- 1:06:59Speaker 7: which goes out to Trickster ten or Fen. Three of
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: those made it into the top eight, so if you're
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: doing math, the top eight was five Waru.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: And three Fen. There were six Cojo.
- 1:07:12Speaker 8: Players, six SIGGI, six Tasia, Free, Traced, two.
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: Subash, one of Funnest, one crazy person on Astadi so
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: someone on our June for some reason, one gambler on Novenka,
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: one of Kesha, and one person who just likes to have.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: Fun on Arak and then one of Asira.
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: That is the breakdown of gamerscaled Arizona.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: So how close was that to the twenty twenty four
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: that they had in France.
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: I was gonna ask, do we want to dive into
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: how limited that number is or do we just want
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: to go over the.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: Meta of it?
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: All right?
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: I mean Arizona, Like, yeah, I think that right there,
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: it's not easy to get to. Flights were not cheap,
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: and no one wants to go there. Sorry if you
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: are from there.
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I think all of us are kind of on
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: the same page where we don't see it as a
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: bad sign and.
- 1:08:15Speaker 8: Are like, oh no, the game is dead here.
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: I think it's it's super easy to travel across countries
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: in Europe there, what's it called public transit is usually better,
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: usually cheaper. And then yeah, like you said, Phoenix is
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: not really a really big travel hub.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: Well the big thing is not a hub, right, so
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: they get there even for us we're there neighbors, the
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: flight would and it is a flight that is really
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: really far from Houston. Is not cheap. It's just not
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: a cheap place to get to. It is not somewhere
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: you're getting discount tickets. It's not Vegas. Like, if this
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: was Vegas, they probably would have done in twenty eight
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: just because it's easy to get there. There's things to
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: do other than that. If you suck out like it's
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: a thing like even Dallas probably would have hit high
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: eighties or whatever because it's an international hub, it's regionally
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: drivable by more people like that, that kind of thing
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: could happen. I think we could probably hit sixty something
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: here in Houston almost with just the people here.
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: I think if they were offering the same things that
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: they were and it was somewhere in Texas one of
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: the big metros, I think we could have filled it up.
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: This is semi spoiler. My plane ticket to get to
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: packs which is in Philadelphia.
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: Was cheaper than it would have been to fly to Phoenix.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: So it's just the sow tickets work. I mean, it
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: just is Yep, it's I.
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: Am in the camp of It was just a product
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: of where it was. And also the game's been out
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: for a month and people seem to forget that very often.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: But those are the events.
- 1:09:56Speaker 8: That is the meta breakdown of basically all of them.
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: Next week sight seeing if the trend of shaking it
- 1:10:04Speaker 8: up slowly but surely continues or not.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: Well. I do think one of the most interesting things
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: from the meta there was that we early on I
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: think maybe week when we said it, like the American
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: meta almost pretty much goes there's your top meta players,
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: it's just the bulk, and then there's the anti meta,
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: and then there's a bunch of people just having fun.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: So I think we kind of start already starting to
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: see this With the GG event, there were thirteen Waru
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: players i e. The top meta. There were ten Finn
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: players i e. The anti meta, because a lot of
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: people are using Fen with festival and stuff like that
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: to get around the way it works. And that was
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: the top eight. Five Warro, three Fen. There's your top eight.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: There's six Sigi players, which was tied for the second most.
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: And I'm gonna put that as the people that think
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Ciggy still the meta, that are stuck back in the
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: starter days. Sorry guys, it's not happening. Things just aren't
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: working out. Then you have six Tasia. Those are the
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: people that just like to have fun even though they
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: don't win games. It's someone knows how that feels. Yeah,
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: And then you got my boys six Cojo and uh
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: I just really want to go to work and who
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: knows how well I'm actually going to do in reality
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: on Tuesday. Bravos is really fun to play, so like
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: that I think is sadly in the coach in the
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: Taja boat with like we're just here to have fun
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: because Taj, like think Mouda and Bravos are two really
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: fun factions to engage with. It is really fun in
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: Bravos to land big dudes and a giant red dog.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: In Taja, it is really cool to have things sit
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: on the board and casually grow over time. Like those
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: are fun and neat mechanics to see happen in play,
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: especially on the rare games that you win. But I
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: really like.
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: The games I have to play to play Tasia. While
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: it doesn't always work out, a lot of the time
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: I'm thinking what can I put out there to start
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: to scare them so they get rid of that, and
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: then I put out my Hydra or you know, an
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: Atlis or or.
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: You have to lure out the thing before you play
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: what you really.
- 1:12:20Speaker 7: And even though I think a Faunas is a better Basira,
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: I still like Asira a lot because I like Bravos
- 1:12:28Speaker 7: and also awesome hero art.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: So yeah. The two things that actually surprise me legitimately
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: on this list is that Traces and a Funas are
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: so low. There were only three Traces, there's only one Afaunas.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: Both of those heroes legitimately fire really hot and they
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: only really suffer against Suaru. So for that to be
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: only one and three is really weird to me. I
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: think that could just literally be playing in the States,
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Everyone's going to be playing Warrow. I can't run these
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: two heroes into Warrow. And that's kind of where it
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: feels like when you're playing them, especially Trace. Trace sucks
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: hard versus Warrow.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: All right, well, number one still a cat and number
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: two I think that's gonna do it for us this week.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Fire dog, fire cat, kitty, fire cat dog.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: It's named a fire dog.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: By whom me. Well yeah, but okay, you're just gonna
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: keep calling a fire dog, So are all like, fine.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Zy, that's its name. If you don't know that, you
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: don't know it very well.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: There was one thing that I feel.
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: Like I'm bad at remembering.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: Each week.
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: I go in always being like I need to mention this,
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: and then when it comes to I forget it. Agent
- 1:14:01Speaker 7: the event at agis this week, you guys are doing
- 1:14:05Speaker 7: a draft correct which is in Houston. And also shout
