  SPEAKER_00: They assume that if you bloom, it means you happen to get planted in a good garden, and somebody chose to water you.

  SPEAKER_00: They see success as something that's totally out of your control, and the best you can hope for is that somebody takes pity on you and gives you a shot.

  SPEAKER_00: You can choose to bloom wherever you're planted.

  SPEAKER_00: Today we all have access to the same resources.

  SPEAKER_00: There's so much great free content on YouTube, podcasts, blogs, and inexpensive books that you can basically get the equivalent of a master's level education practically for free.

  SPEAKER_00: So it's not so much about the opportunities you have, instead, it's what you do with those opportunities.

  SPEAKER_00: And today we all have more opportunities as writers than at any other time in history.

  SPEAKER_00: In the 2008 movie The Dark Knight, which is one of the best movies ever made, by the way, the Gotham District Attorney Harvey Dent carries a two-headed coin as a symbol of his freedom to make the best of any situation.

  SPEAKER_00: Well, the truth is you don't have to wait to get planted in a different garden.

  SPEAKER_00: You don't need to wait for somebody else to pour into you.

  SPEAKER_00: You can make your own luck.

  SPEAKER_00: And you can do that by blooming right where you're planted.

  SPEAKER_00: You can invest in yourself and take advantage of all the resources right there at your fingertips.
