- Mike: What is up, Eagles fans? We're back. Week two. ⁓ we well last week we started with everybody, didn't we? And then we randomly started to lose heads, but now we we just started with heads lost. No Paul, no Jamal. Paul might make an appearance. I think he has some storm issues. ⁓ not his own technical issues, just issues with the weather at this point. ⁓ but Joe's here. What's up, sir? Risi: Yeah. Joe: Yeah. pretty good this week. ⁓ you guys have seen what the Rams have done in the offseason, right? Like what they're doing. Like people are like, ⁓ they're building a raw championship roster. They're just keep this in perspective. They are not building a roster. They're doing experiments because they've lost four years in a row to Jalen Hurts. So at this point, they're just throwing shit at the wall. ⁓ let's bring back Aaron Donald who hasn't played for two years. ⁓ that makes them so we don't even know what's gonna happen. So Mike: Yeah, w Risi: ⁓ yeah. Mike: Yeah, a player Yeah, like they're really excited about Aaron Donald and what's in being on the same fucking line together. Joe: Yeah, we don't know we don't know if that guy that guy could be cooked. He's like thirty six, you know? Mike: Yeah, like I I think everybody kinda ⁓ not that everybody thought like he should've retired when he retired, but everybody like, I get it. He's probably due. Joe: Yeah. Yeah. So keep it up. Nice try. Maybe maybe it'll work out for you this year, but I think that the the Jalen Hirsch has just got your guys' number. So Mike: Do we we play them again this year too, don't we? Aren't Joe: I think I think we play them like every year. Risi: Mm-hmm. I don't think there yeah. Is there ever been a year we don't play them at this point? We got them we we got them week four. Mike: ⁓ I I feel like we play them all Is that what it is, week four? Joe: Yeah. Does he make the playoffs? Yeah. It's they're both playoff teams so they're always gonna like kinda play each other, so Mike: Yeah. We've played them I think every regular season since Carson Wentz first got here. Joe: This year we go out there though, I think. We're in LA this year. Are they here again? Yeah, that's two years in a row. 'Cause last year we beat a member on the Jordan Davis field return in the field goal block for a touchdown. That big moment. Risi: No it's in ⁓ it's at the link, yeah. It's it's at home. Mike: It's home. Risi: ⁓ yeah. Mike: Yeah, that was our early in the year. Wait, when we play them week four? Didn't we play them week four last year? Did you look at it last year's schedule? You look at that last we played them and I'm did Eagles schedule twenty twenty five. We played them like week four last year too, didn't we? Risi: No no no no no. Pull it up now. It's week four. Joe: Aww Chris. Well week yeah, I think so. Week five is the Jacksonville game in London though. Week three. Risi: Actually it was week three latest. It was week three. Yeah. Mike: Week three last year? Yeah, it was week three. That's crazy. All right. Joe: Early in the year. So keep trying, guys. Mike: What w we don't wanna put LA in cold weather? Is that what we're doing? We don't wanna f Risi: Well, all right, o over under now, it does Aaron Donald make it to week four? Mike: ⁓ he makes it for sure. I'll take the over on that. I I I have no doubt in his health. It's just how productive is he gonna be. Joe: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Risi: I don't know though. Like, has there been many guys have been out for two years coming back and then been effective? Like the NFL's a different kind of animal. Like you gotta that game shape to get back into it. What's it, BG came back, right? And he only played a couple snaps per game and that was Joe: No. No. Mike: But BG came back after missing half a season. Like it wasn't even a full year, right? Risi: That's what I yeah. I mean two years is no, no, it was yeah, it was the next year. So I don't know about that. That's gonna be tough for them. Joe: Yeah, I you know, physically I think Aaron Donald people describe him as kinda like an Adonis. So he's yeah, he's a physical freak. So I don't doubt that. But just Risi: Yeah, he's a freak, yeah. Mike: I have no clue why that happened. I hit a button on my mouse by accident and that just happened. Joe: I don't know. I thought maybe that was the word of the week, Adonis. Mike: Well we should I don't know how to stop it. Risi: It's a great word, 'cause it's still going. Joe: No, it's not gonna stop. Mike: Alright, I figured out what I did. The mouse, one of the mouse buttons the thumb buttons of my mouse is assigned to number one and number two. So and that's I didn't realize that, but that's one too. ⁓ Chris is here. You guys heard him. Chris, how was your week? How was your trip? You went to Chris went to Scotland. First ⁓ first your first ⁓ trip overseas, right? Joe: ⁓ Risi: ⁓ it was in Scotland ⁓ It was. It was quite the experience. Went for ⁓ the tattoo in in Edinburgh. ⁓ saw a couple birds fans, a couple ⁓ go birds ⁓ when I was around. It was great. And then my trip home took a couple extra days to get home, but I'm here. ⁓ I'm tired. I've been up since I don't I don't I don't even know when I've been up so but I'm I'm ready to go. I have no weather storms issues here. I'm locked in. And ⁓ Mike: I hear a little thunder over here. I'm not far from you, but ⁓ it doesn't sound horrible. Joe's got some lightning in the background, we just gotta Risi: Nah, it'll be all right. Joe: Yeah, we've got thunderstorms going right here. Pretty good. Risi: Yeah, you've had some wicked ones. Mike: ⁓ all right, training camps over, boys. Preseason is finished. The 53 man roster is set. ⁓ we're now in regular season mode. We have a game in 18 days. Is that where we're at? 12 days. Twelve days. Jesus. It's ⁓ yeah, not this weekend. The following week of when's the first NFL game? Do we play Thursday night? Do we have a game? Not this Thursday, next Thursday. Okay, next week, Thursday is our first game. ⁓ our first game coming up is September 13th, 425 at the link against Risi: Twelve days. Joe: Yeah, something less than twelve days, yeah. Thursday night, yeah. Yeah, next week Thursday. Risi: This guy. Mike: The commanders. ⁓ hoping to see everybody there. Hope to see everybody at the tailgate before that too as well. ⁓ not necessarily sure where we're gonna be ⁓ this year for the tailgate. We might be at N eight, we might be at C six. It's not decided yet. We'll figure that out ⁓ within the next couple of days. ⁓ but with that, let's get on to our first story. ⁓ the fifty-three man roster is set. Howie Roseman, because we know that's who s you know makes this ⁓ roster, he kept four quarterbacks. Biggest headline from Cut Down Week is the quarterback room. Philadelphia kept Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Andy Dalton, and the rookie Cole Payton on the initial 53 roster. ⁓ Roseman said the Eagles did not want to risk losing Peyton and emphasized how much value the organization placed on quarterback death. Because remember, we used to be a quarterback factory. It is unusual roster construction, but this franchise knows better than most how quickly the backup quarterback can become one of the most important players on the team. Another positive with this though, how he specifically praised the growth of the young interior offensive line. Drew Kendall, Willie Lampkin, and Micah Morris all made the rosters and apparently earned real trust from the coaching staff. So I guess the first question I have to you guys is do you like keeping four quarterbacks? Risi: Hold on. Just to tie back to Howie Roseman real quick. Did you see the Madden ⁓ Howie Roseman ⁓ what do you call it? They have like a Howie Roseman Eagles GM. Is that what it is? It's an achievement. Eagles GM strategy. So like, am I happy with the four quarterbacks in Howie we trust? I am thrilled on any decision he makes. He's got his own strategy inside of Madden. Mike: It's an achievement. It's an achievement. Yeah. Yeah, hold on. Joe: Ha ha ha. Mike: So here, sorry. Madden twenty seven has a new feature in GM Meg call GM mode called the Eagles GM Strategy. The Eagles GM strategy in in in Madden is ⁓ plus fifteen percent bonus, minus five percent salary, plus one void year. Classic front load, rich on signing day, cap cleaner later, contract-minded DNA loves it. Demanding DNA likes dislikes the salary cut. So this is how you Joe: So Correct. Mike: Interact with the players, you can pick like what kind of mindset you want to have going towards it. And if you go with the Eagle strategy, you're giving a lot of bonus, you're giving less salary, and you're usually being able to avoid one year. So what they're saying is if the player ⁓ is contract minded, they'll love it. If it demands if they if it's about salary overall, the player will dislike it. Joe: Yeah. Guaranteed money. Mike: Yeah. Yeah. Risi: Yeah, so with Joe: So back to the question about keeping four quarterbacks. I here's here's the thing with this. Like quarterback factory, these guys, like I he wants to trade at least one of these guys for some picks. That's getting harder and harder to do in the NFL right now, just because starters don't play in the preseason. So none of them ever get hurt. Because all your big time starts like starters do play, but they're starters that it doesn't matter if they get hurt or not, pretty much. It's like they're not, are they really even starters, franchise quarterbacks anyway? If a team has a franchise quarterback, they are not playing in preseason anymore. Look across the league. How many franchise quarterbacks played meaningful time in preseason this year? It's like none of them. Mike: None. There was there was a lot of like ⁓ I mean, ⁓ there's a lot of meaningful players that didn't play any time during this preseason. Joe: Right. That's kind of how it's going. Like none of our starters, like any of our skill position guys, our starting offensive linemen, like none of those guys played a minute. Yeah. Mike: No, just our just our seconds. Like ⁓ yeah, ⁓ yeah, we had nobody. ⁓ Joe: And if, you know, Seattle Seahawks lose their backup quarterback, Geno Smith's gonna be their starter, what are they gonna give you for like Andy Dalton or like Tanner McKee? You know, like a fifth round pick, sixth round pick. You know, I don't know if it's worth it. I know all these assets and he likes to take late round picks and bundle them to move up and to do other things on draft day. But I think this is gonna eventually this is gonna get harder every year for him because everybody knows what he's doing and Risi: Six round. Yep. Joe: These quarterbacks I I have a feeling these guys are gonna sit there and some of them are just gonna get released. Because I I don't know how you keep four quarterbacks on on fifty-three minute. I just don't know how you do it. Mike: He's gotta be hoping that, like you said, one of them is able to be traded. I ⁓ there d there's no way. We've never kept this many quarterbacks. We Joe: Yeah, yeah. You know, they wanna bring back Zach Ertz. So what happens if Zach Ertz they re sign him? Who are they gonna who are they gonna move on from? Another position player that they're light in or yeah, yeah, he's a free agent. Mike: He's a f he's a free agent right now, right? He's nowhere. Risi: Nowhere. Mike: Yeah, I I well but but even with that, who's who's QB two? We don't even know. Joe: So it's Risi: That is true. There is no QB two, but I'll it's I mean, I guess it would have to be Tanner still at this point. I can't Mike: Is it with the amount that they played ⁓ the the Red Rocket? Joe: No, I think it's Andy Dalton. Yeah. Risi: You really think it's Andy Daldo? Mike: I kind of think it is too. That's why you played Tanner the whole third or third preseason game. Andy when Andy went was was Dawn did Dawn even play? Did he play the first quarter? Did he play the first quarter and that was it? So the Get just tells you that he's your selection for number two, which kinda which ⁓ Yeah. Experience, right? Joe: Yeah. It's him. He's got Risi: Yeah, shopping them around. Joe: The third preseason game? Yeah, I think he did. He played the first quarter. Yeah. Not like he's earned it or anything. He hasn't really earned it. It's just from experience, pretty much, is is what they're going with, I think, with this guy. You know, hopefully if he's gotta play two or three games this year, 'cause ⁓ knock on wood, Jalen Hurts, you know, gets a knock or whatever. I mean, hopefully he can split two games, win one, lose one. You know, hopefully he doesn't throw a bunch of interceptions. He's gonna just be asked to go in and manage a game. You know, so and I think he can handle that. And I think Taryn McKee can handle that too, but Mike: Yeah. Joe: based on the money what they paid him. Not that they rolled up the Brinks truck or anything for this guy, but he's making significantly more than like Tanner McKee is. So I think he's the guy. Mike: But what does this what does this say about their thoughts on Peyton? Like do they like like they're are they went out of their way to keep him, so do they think he's gonna be more? Joe: Well, they Yeah, they do. They're very high on him. If they're keeping him as the fourth quarterback on a roster and not letting him hit waivers 'cause they think somebody's gonna claim them, yeah, he they think very highly of ⁓ If anything, it'll be one of those other two guys. If they have to release somebody, like, ⁓ shit, we need a long snapper because when they when they set the fifty three man, they didn't have a long snapper on the on the roster either. They're gonna need one of those before week one. Risi: Yes. Yeah, it's Joe: So if they get up again it'll be McKee or or Dalton that winds up getting cut. It won't be ⁓ Cole Payton. Mike: No, I I agree with that. It's not gonna be cold. Like if you went out of your way to p keep ⁓ and put ⁓ as your fourth, you're not gonna you're cut y there was never Joe: Yep. Right. Risi: And the other GMs are g and the other GMs are gonna get smart enough now. Like you said, this this this ruse is kind of like run its course here where they're gonna what are you gonna get for tan or an you might as well might as well just cut them, which one it is. But again, if someone gets injured, which no one's playing anymore, so nothing's gonna change. One of them will get get cut, because it's not gonna be coal. They are high on them. Joe: Yeah. It won't be him. Mike: I I just I didn't I mean, we only saw him play last week for the first time and I thought he looked horrible, honestly. I didn't think he looked like any good. I thought he looked worse. I thought that the other two looked bad. I thought he looked even worse Joe: Yeah, he didn't look great. I mean they know something though. They know there's another team out there that really wanted to draft him or bring him in or whatever. And they they Howie knows that. There's another GM somewhere that's gonna grab him as soon as they let him go. Yeah. Mike: I I I there had to be a reason. I agree. Yeah, I just don't know. I don't I mean like it's weird. Like it's the first I I when was the last time we kept four quarterbacks? Joe: Well, he went from like South Dakota or North Dakota State to playing in the NFL. That's a huge jump. Carson Wentz, right? Yeah, North Dakota State or something like that. That's a huge, huge jump going from North Dakota State to the NFL. And he didn't have the pedigree that Carson Wentz did. You know, Carson Wentz had a pedigree coming in. This guy doesn't. I mean he played well as a division one double A guy, but you know they know there's they Mike: He was went the same s he went to the same school as Carson. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Risi: Is Winch? Joe: They know there's there's he the he has a high ceiling, I think. So but it's gonna take some time. They're gonna have to develop. Risi: Is Wentz officially done? Is is he done this year or is he still with ⁓ Minnesota? Mike: What were you saying, Kristen? Y yeah, I think he's done, right? I think he's done. Is he? Joe: I think he's on Minnesota, isn't he? Risi: I was c ⁓ Yeah, they said he's with Minnesota, okay. That's what it says. But I was I was curious if he's done Mike: ⁓ it says yeah, Minnesota Vikings quarterback. Joe: Yeah. Risi: Well, good for him. Cole Payton will be the next wince. Joe: JJ McCarthy's the three there. ⁓ what's his face? The toddlers can start. And Carson Wentz is the backup. Risi: Is that Kyler Mary the toddler? He does like a toddler. Joe: Yeah, Kyler Murray, the toddler. He runs like a toddler. Mike: Minnesota Vikings silence nor new ⁓ quarterback JJ McCarthy is yeah, yeah. He sits in the end zone by himself every day, right? Before a game. ⁓ anything surprise you about the cuts, especially what we're down to fifty three. Risi: Mm-hmm. Joe: Yeah. Just keeping four quarterbacks. That surprised me. No, not really. Mike: Nothing else. I was kinda caught off guard that Pierce was cut. I thought after the last game that he made I yes, we got him back on the practice squad, but when they initially cut him, I was kind of shocked. Joe: You know, I thought that too when I saw some of the gu like ⁓ Carson Steele, that guy too. I was watching him all but when I looked at it, okay, there are guys all over the league that played like heroes in preseason that wound up getting cut. So we're not unique. You know, like if you look around the league and look at what guys did in the preseason that wound up getting cut, some of ⁓ really, really put up some numbers and had really nice preseasons. So it's preseason and you know. Mike: Back on the practice squad too, yeah. And we brought in a running back from the Cowboys? Today, I saw that? Or yesterday? Yeah. Joe: Yeah, they claim someone on waivers, right? Or that they cut him and he made it through waivers and they just brought him in, I guess. Something something however they'd. Mike: ⁓ let's see. Eagles signed running back. Eagles signed formers cowboy running back to practice squad. So that means we have three running backs on a practice squad now. The Eagles kept three running backs, Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley, which makes sense. And also Brack bought Brack, Damian Pierce, Carson Steele. ⁓ five running backs just isn't enough, apparently. They also brought in Cowboys Rusher Jaden Blue. They're just bringing in the fucking porn star names. Joe: Yeah. Yeah. Risi: Does that tell you anything about our offense? This many running backs? Mike: Yeah. What ⁓ we're running the ball. We are absolutely running the ball. I have the new Madden. It is actually probably the best Madden that's come out in a very long time. Jalen Hurts cannot throw the ball to save his life in that fucking game. I had I won the Super Bowl by just riding Saquon Barkley. Joe: Ha ha. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Passer pat passing skill is like sixty eight. Mike: N i yeah, it's ⁓ that was. I think I ended up at sixty eight. He like ninety yards average a game. Joe: And and fucking running is like Yeah. Risi: ⁓ my gosh. Mike: Saquon broke the rushing record. Two games before the end of the season. Joe: Ha ha ha. Risi: Ha ha ha. Mike: Yeah. So I I I think we're definitely going to be running the ball. I agree with that statement. There's no doubt. Joe: Mm. Risi: Well. Mike: There is no doubt. But all right, Chris, talk to us a little bit. Tell us about ⁓ the Eagles depth chart or how it got rated. Risi: All right. Stor story two is that the Eagles depth gets rated on waivers, four cuts claimed. The downside of having a deep roster showed up immediately. ⁓ the Eagles had a league high, league high. Four waived players claimed by other teams. ⁓ we had our DB. Was this Kapena Gush Gushikin? Gushkin. There you go. He went to Indianapolis. Tight end Cameron Latoo went to New England. ⁓ Joe: Yeah. Risi: O-line Miles Hinton went to Cincinnati and O-line Cameron Williams to Atlanta. Philadelphia did get ⁓ several familiar development players back onto the practice squad, ⁓ including Britton Covey, Carson Steele, and then Pierce, like we talked about, Uar back on the ⁓ practice squad and Joshua Weru. Howie views the practice squad as an extension of the active roster with injuries inevitable. Some of these names are going to matter before the season is over. So which one hurts to lose? Which one of these four are are we upset about? Or are we upset at all? Of Joe: ⁓ overall, no, I'm not. ⁓ but probably Cameron Williams was probably the most in Latu, they were probably the two most talented guys ⁓ from that group. Mike: Yeah, I'll let two, yeah. They I mean they were the ones I kind of was like, all right, I didn't expect. It was good to see the two ⁓ the two boys back, ⁓ Bernard and Wero. That's become a big that was a big thing on the internet. I don't know if you guys saw that, that they thought the Eagles were very fucked up for bringing two foreigners on to the team and then cutting them. Yeah, exactly. They were given a chance. Like I think that was better than nothing. And then now they're in a practice squad? Joe: Yeah. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Well, it's a long shot, you know, no matter what, man. Yeah. Risi: Yeah, I'll take that all day. Joe: Yeah, and I I I called Britton I called Britton Covey getting caught too. I was like he's gonna get caught. Risi: Yeah. Mike: Yeah, but he always comes back somehow. He's never not on the team. Yeah. Joe: Well, he's a returner. He's a returner. And teams l I mean, they'll be able to they could potentially trade him, you know what I mean? 'Cause he's a sure handed return I mean, the fact that he just gets destroyed on every single return, but Risi: Yeah. Mike: Yeah. But but remember, he was the leading returning b ⁓ pump returner for two years. He was the lead. Joe: He made a Pro Bowl. Yeah, he made a Pro Bowl. Kinda weird. Mike: Yeah, 'cause he my b my man takes a hit. Risi: He does take a hit. ⁓ does does this do these cuts do they ⁓ does this validate the depth of our roster? Like it's not Joe: To some extent. Mike: Well yeah, I mean yeah. If you have that many players that are getting picked up, it means that we obviously are doing something right as far as bringing people in. Joe: Some extent. It it says they're guys that are good enough to be on NFL rosters somewhere. And that's wider than you think. That that, you know, you're just good enough to be on a roster. There's guys on a roster that are on a roster for three, four, five years and then they're out of the league and never touch the field in a real game. You know, they'll play in preseason or whatever, but they don't they don't never play in a regular season game. So tells you you have guys that are good enough to fit those spots, but You know, it doesn't mean that you just have studs. It's not like stud every backup you have is a complete and total stud. Risi: Is that is it is it Schmoll here? Joe: That's your mall. Mike: You guys hear that? Risi: ⁓ I thought you was Well I d or is this like or do you think people or do you think the other ⁓ teams are trying to see like are they taking these guys just to see what we got? Yeah. Yeah. Mike: That's more. Or you think it's like strategic to see what we're doing? Well, I ha I had that thought about the Cowboys guy. Like why didn't we take him? We just trying to see what they're doing? ⁓ I do really think so? I think that I I don't think anybody has respect for anything we do. Risi: Yeah. I think there's something to that. I know. I Is it but but is it a gentleman's rule that you're not allowed to like talk about it or are you like under NDA? Like you Mike: No. No, not at all. They bring them in, they question the shit out of them, but I don't think like I I yeah. Go ahead. Think think about all the time during the regular seasons where we signed a player for like one game and then the next week they're gone. It's like, ⁓ that's why they were there. Yeah. Yeah. No, not at all. But I mean I I I don't I I I wouldn't say that's why these four were signed, because I I true I truly believe. Risi: Right? I didn't know actually I don't know that. Joe: ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Risi: Yeah, it's actually not a bad move. Mike: No other head coach has respect for what we do. I think they all view what we do as just simple and they can figure it out. Joe: No? On the field or are you talking about from personnel? Yeah. Mike: On on the field. You know, personnel wise, like what how he does and all that, I think everybody that that's why we get all our ⁓ like scouts and and and and front office people taken away from us. But as far as Risi: Yeah. Joe: Right. Yeah, no, the the f the formula for the Eagles on the field the last couple of seasons is just bear we're bigger, we're stronger, and we're tougher and we're just gonna run straight at you and there's nothing you can do about it. That was the that was the formula that when they won the Super Bowl. Risi: Are you Well, hold on. But we did transition to throwing the ball last year 'cause AJ Brown was upset. And then that whole thing spiled out of control. That did not go well for us. In-Person: Acknowledge me. Joe: Yeah. Mike: Yeah. Yeah. Well we s we switched it up and we didn't make it to the Super Bowl. We switched it up and we didn't Yeah. Joe: No. Yeah. We wanted to give other teams a chance. And you see what you got. You got fucking stupid Seahawks and ⁓ I don't know whoever the hell else they played last year. Yeah. Nobody watched it. Yeah, they got blown out. Risi: Yeah, it's it's it's good. Mike: The Patriots. And remember, like the and they got their and the Patriots got blown the fuck out. And and I like like is it so Well, yeah. But the point of what I was gonna say with the Patriots is they they signed AJ Brown and we had a bunch of I I had a bunch of fancy dress this weekend. ⁓ Risi: Yeah. W was even close. Joe: Well, the Chiefs got blown out the year before that, so Not this week, you gotta save it again. Mike: But I and and and AJ Brown was taken kind of high. And I'm like, I I don't I'm not questioning AJ Brown's capability. My concern is that offensive line, and he's not going to be able to get the ball to AJ Brown. Like, that's what happened in the Super Bowl. He was on his ass. He didn't have the chance to throw the ball, and it's going to happen again. Bringing in a wide receiver isn't going to fucking help, especially a wide receiver that doesn't go short routes, he goes deep routes. He bodies people. Like you Joe: Yeah. Mike: Unless you're just crossing him across the field a bunch, but Joe: They had to do it though. Diana Russini put in a lot of work to make that happen. Mike: Yeah, d yeah, there lots of dick. Lots of dick She's been working that thing for years to get this story. Yeah, yeah. Joe: She's been working that trade for years. So they had to do it. In-Person: I'm about to make a name for myself here Mike: Jesus. I I I don't know. But ⁓ Risi: It's been kinda quiet on that front. Like the v the the vape the vapral thing, that's like Mike: There's been nothing. It went away. There was nothing about it. Joe: That kind of went away. It went away. It's gone. It's gone. It's gone. The NFL is just too big of a machine for that to stop. They just ignore it for a while and people forget. News cycle changes and we forget. Yeah, she got fired because she's not doesn't work for the NFL. He works for the NFL. He's a good coach. Nothing's gonna happen. We've seen the story before. Risi: Yeah, kinda wanna win. Yeah. Mike: She got fired. She got fired. He ⁓ he denied it. ⁓ I mean shit. Let's not yeah, exactly. Let's not forget that the owner of the team was getting rubdowns in fucking random cities. Joe: Yeah. Yeah. This kind of shit. Like the guy who's gonna play quarterback week one in Cleveland. Hello? Risi: Yeah. That's bad. That one's that one's s I mean, not all the other ones are bad. Mike: Yeah dude. And yeah. Yeah. It clearly is just rubbing them the wrong way. Just rubbing them the wrong way. Risi: ⁓ coin Yeah, did do yeah, g you gotta hit that one. Mike: ⁓ where's it that? I don't ⁓ That was the wrong one. Joe: Not the right one. Mike: Where'd it go? It's not there anymore. ⁓ no. Risi: Hitch them all breathing. Joe: No. Mike: Right, we need ⁓ it's gone. It's like we I don't even ha like it used to be a like the joke. It's gone. It's completely fucking gone. I'm so sad. ⁓ no, they changed the icon. It's now a clown face. Makes sense. That makes ⁓ anyway. All right, Joe. Talked about talk about Jonathan Grenard. Big trade we made before the C ⁓ off season. Risi: There you go. Joe: There you go. All right. Mike: We're at the beginning of the all season. Joe: Yep. So Jonathan Grenard avoids pup, but how ready can he be for week one? So Jonathan Grenard missed training camp and preseason with a pectoral injury, but the Eagles did not put him on pup. That means he's eligible to play as soon as he's healthy. Roseman said the expectation is that Grenard will play sooner rather than later, but the team is keeping the exact timetable private. That matters because the edge group is talented but young and Washington's mobile quarterback is the kind of player who pushes bad rush who punishes bad rush lanes. Even if Grenard is active in week one, conditioning and snap count could be just as important as the injury itself. So ⁓ question for you guys what would you play Grenard in week one if he is medically cleared but barely practiced? You would not, okay. Mike: No. I think he need he he needs you know he he came from what Minnesota. He doesn't know the scheme here. He doesn't I mean he had the book, he studied it, but he hasn't Yeah. But I I I I think no. You just gotta rely on Nolan to to to take the space. I mean that's what I would weigh heavily on. I think it's Smith that picks it up at that point. Joe: Yes. Sure he's reading. Risi: I think we're pretty strong there. Like I don't think he needs to start week one, right? 'Cause what you can have what Jelix Hunt in instead of him? Right to start. Yeah. I I think that's a stronger week one that I would get in. I I'd I'd if he's healthy, have him dress, filter him in as you go, like get him some reps in and and build him up. But I think Jalex Hunt has been strong enough to to earn that spot for now until you know Grenard's ready to go. Mike: Yeah, you would do Nolan and Jalix versus Nolan and him. Yeah, and I don't know if I'm underestimating the commanders, but I like that like I think that that that combination can handle the commanders. We've seen it. They did it last year. I mean i i yeah, I yes, ⁓ Witz Daniels was hurt last year a lot, but not was he healthy for both of our games, I think, or at least one of ⁓ Joe: Yeah, yeah. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Yeah, I think he was. Risi: Yeah. Yeah. Joe: I mean nobody's healthy toward the end of the year, but you know, yeah. I don't know if you yeah, he me yeah, he missed significant time. ⁓ and I think a backup did play one of the games. But I would play him. I but he'd be on like a pitch count. Like he'd five to ten five to ten snaps, second long, third and long, get out there and go after the quarterback. That's what it would be. Mike: Yeah, but he was out for like seven games last year or something, wasn't he? Risi: Yeah he Yeah, give him the give him the B G as last year kind of roll, you know? Mm mm. Joe: Yeah, that's what he would get. He'd be on a snap count. Mike: He missed the week sixteen matchup. Yeah. Joe: Okay. Mike: He didn't play week sixteen, he returned to the lineup against us in week eighteen. For the regular season finale. Joe: Okay, who needs to ki who needs to carry the load if Grenard is limited? Smith, Jalexon, or somebody else? Yeah. Mike: I think it's on Smith. I think it's on Smith. Smith's got I mean, I sm I my opinion, I think Smith is more talented than Jalex Hunt. ⁓ or maybe ceiling isn't as high as Jalex Hunt's, but I think overall talent at this point, Nolan Smith is the better of the two. And I think Nolan's gonna have to step it up. We're gonna need like the Super Bowl run playoff no Nolan Smith. Yeah. Joe: Nolan Smith. Yeah, maybe this is the year he puts it together. But I mean the guy I'm watching this year a lot is Jalex Long because I said he's the Milton Williams idea. Mike: Yeah, I I mean I I think I think Jalex Hunt can be better than Nolan Smith. We just haven't seen it yet. Joe: Yeah. Risi: Well, week one's a good opportunity for him. Mm-hmm. Mike: Yeah, exactly. Joe: ⁓ what's your guys' confidence level in the Eagles pass rush right now? Like on a scale of one to ten? You think it's gonna be good or five being mediocre? Mike: Hi. Risi: ⁓ Mike: I'd say eight. I mean, y you got Carter is signed and healthy and supposedly looking good. Davis is in the best shape he's been since last year, who was amazing last year. And if he's still as good and healthy as he was last year, I mean what really changes? Where what what who are we losing from? Yeah, I'd say eight. Risi: I was yeah, I was going eight to eight and a half. Like I'm s Davis. Like I because I think about Jalen Carter. He's like kind of the the ultimate he He does he does everything and if he can really be if he can really flourish into that like all time player, this would be that, you know, kind of start of that run right there. He's got he What? ⁓ no well no I don't even mind that. Yeah, you know what? Not not before the game starts. Joe: He does everything. He does everything. Mike: Question mark. No spitting. No spit. No spitting. Joe: Yeah, don't spit in someone's face. Mike: Not game one. Not game one before the game starts. Joe: Ph. Risi: Yeah. I I just I I just Jalen Carter is just I'm I'm really looking forward to him this season. And we get to the pass rush. ⁓ all the other guys, he will he will rise the tide for everybody and give other guys an opportunity. I just he's such a difference maker and I think him and and Jordan up front there, I th this is gonna be really good pass rush. Mike: Yeah, I I I think that's d that's a very solid combo that causes some problems, and I think it causes a it has caused a lot of problems. And I gotta imagine that they're both happy. They both did get extensions this year, right? They both got paid, so I I didn't really have that worry with Jordan Davis. He seems like a really just like I just want to play football kind of guy, but with Carter, I thought that could have been an issue. But they got it done. So I I I don't know. I think they're gonna be dangerous. I think the defense is gonna be dangerous again. You didn't I I think you got an upgrade in the secondary. I I know we were I'm going off of the line now, but secondary-wise, you got an upgrade bringing in ⁓ what's his name from Mullen from the the Seahawks. Him, ⁓ Quinyon and and and and ⁓ fucking Coop the issue is safety And also like we said be and losing Woodsame ⁓ Reed. But I think we have a better second cornerback than we did last year. Risi: Read Lack and Chip. Mm-hmm. Joe: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think you're right. Risi: Yeah, good pass rush. Mike: So I a and and and if you have yeah, and if you have the decent secondary, it should lead to the pass rush being even better. So I I I may I might be talking myself into a nine, maybe a ten. Maybe nine, maybe nine. Risi: And our linebackers are stacked in between. But like Jihad Campbell and Zach Bone in the middle there and linebacker, I mean solid. Joe: ⁓ it's a little much. Little much. More than solid. That's ⁓ that's that's an all-pro and probably a pro bowler. You could have that. Yeah, he could be a pro bowler. Risi: It's really solid. Shout out to Jahad Campbell. Mike: Yeah, I i it it's it's really good. Yeah, I think jihad makes it yeah. Risi: He did a ⁓ did you see he did a ⁓ a back to school ⁓ he did like a whole backpack thing here at Timber Creek area and then he's ⁓ on the big billboard. I was just driving over to Walt Whitman this morning. ⁓ yeah, he's ⁓ Primo hoagies, man. Look at Jahai look. Mike: Yeah. ⁓ is he? He was at the at the end of the season, he was at the ⁓ what the hell is it around the corner the the the barbecue place. Yeah, he was there to eating one day when I went in there. He walked out, I was walking in. I was like, ⁓ somebody's home visiting his parents. Risi: Mission Barbecue. ⁓ yeah. Ha ha ha. Mike: That's nice. Yeah, I I think it's gonna be good. I think it's gonna be good. I I'm I'm I'm going with nine. I've upgraded myself. I talked myself into a nine. No, ⁓ no. I Joe yelled at me. I was feeling a little Risi: Yeah, I I'm looking forward to this ⁓ pass rush. Do I hear nine point one? Joe: No, no, no, no. I I I I would say like seven point five. I think they'll be I think they'll be good. And it could go to an eight if Jalex Hunt like really shows up. You know, I think they're I'm lo I'm looking at for a lot out of him this year. So I've moved off of Keely Ringo and ⁓ I'm on to Jalex Hunt. Mike: Whoa. Wow. Risi: Whoa. Mike: But look good preseason. He looked really good in the preseason. Joe: He always does. Yeah. Yeah. No, he's a really good he's a special team's ace. That's what he is. You can put him out there. You know, he'll give you a yeoman's effort, I think, but he's gonna get Yeah. He's gonna get he's gonna get torched a few times against good wide receivers. He can't cover a good wide receiver. You gotta put him on like a guy who's not that good. Risi: But he gets lost. I just can't stand the fact that he just loses himself. Mike: Yeah, I mean where where he's not gonna fit in as a corner. Like he's he Yeah, yeah. His mom can wear all the shiny shoots suits she wants to wear. It's not gonna make a difference. Yeah. Alright, what do we got next? Paul. Joe: Still on the team though. You just want to do you want to do ⁓ the fancy ball. Well, we're not doing fancy ball. Mike: No. ⁓ I don't Risi: Man, I gotta tell you this ⁓ Mike: Got a little crazy there. Didn't know what to do. It was new. Risi: ⁓ caught me off guard. ⁓ all right. So Flyers Minute. ⁓ let's go with the offseason. They had a tremendous offseason. Did you guys pay attention to the re-signings that we had? I mean, Danny Briere, we signed ⁓ re signed ⁓ Tyson Forrester. Big deal for us. We re signed ⁓ Zegris, re and we signed Dan ⁓ yeah, a hundred percent. We're locking down our core ⁓ Joe: Good. Mike: Yes. Joe: Good too, right? Risi: for the for the future re-signed ⁓ Jamie Drysdale and then signed Dan Vladar. So I mean, yeah, they basically locked down their core. And then the big one at the end, the big story that they did was they sent a huge contract ⁓ offer to Leo ⁓ Carlson at a five year ninety million and really screwed the ducks because the ducks either had to say lose their top guy and he's legit. I mean he's a top five player in the NHL ⁓ Do I lose Leo Carlson to the Flyers and let them have it, or we sign him? They matched a deal, and now they're screwed because they're gonna the Ducks have some good young players, one of them being Cutter Gautier, who screwed us because he's an asshole, ⁓ who should get booed every time he touches the puck, ⁓ which he will forever for his entire career. He'll get booed. ⁓ so now he is gone he's already causing stink over over the Anaheim Ducks. No. Mike: Mm. Well 'cause now he th they're gonna be to pay him, right? Risi: And he and he knows that. So he's already causing it because the kid's a little prick. So he's already calls in a stink over there. So nice job, Danny B and Keith Jones. thousand per s we did this before with Shea Weber, ⁓ years ago with ⁓ tr yeah, the Shea Weber deal. It's the same thing. The fli this is but this is what you have to do in the NHL and this the Flyers are they're not scared to you know, play little ball here. So ⁓ Mike: Like I was gonna say, how much do you think Danny B did that shit on purpose just to fuck him? Joe: I remember that. So it's it's like a situation like well it's great if we get ⁓ but it's also good if we don't. You know, 'cause it puts the ducks in a spot that are Yeah, you're fucking ⁓ hard. Yeah. Risi: It was a win win. Mike: Yeah, if we don't get ⁓ we're fucking that team so hard. Risi: Yeah, we had the money for it. ⁓ but the and the one thing to look out for is that we did get rid of Garnet Hathaway, ⁓ to the Panthers. Now, he's not like he went on like the biggest like no point, no goal streak with us forever, but like he will be fun to watch with the Panthers because he's gonna be like their their their I don't know to call it, like betwe that's gonna be fun to watch him down here 'cause I like Garnet Hathaway, but that sucked. We got rid of him. But otherwise it's been a great offseason for the Flyboys. They are Joe: Once the season starts. Risi: October something or another. I don't know the exact date, but ⁓ nah it'll be before that. It's it's coming up soon. When is the flyer start date? Joe: Around Halloween. Playoffs this year again? Risi: Yeah, I'm counting on it now. ⁓ no, sip ⁓ yeah, preseason's the twenty first. Yeah, it'll be October or something. It'll start. I think it's October first. But ⁓ yeah, I I'm fully confident they'll make the they'll make the ⁓ postseason again. They that's a really, really good young team. They're gonna still need to make a splash to pick somebody else up, but like they're Danny B's doing the right things here, so it's really good to see. Another another we need one more big in big piece here, hopefully a center. ⁓ but the defense is stacked, goaltending. Joe: Okay. Risi: Really good spot. Joe: What well what they really can't do cr and I don't know, I'm not a hockey guy. I you know what I but this could be a hopefully they don't fall into this trap like, ⁓ we need a center, so let's just go get a center and get the wrong guy and then you're stuck. Like hopefully they don't do that. They're just like, okay, we still need a center, let's get these guys out of here and see what they can do. You know what I mean? And not make a dumb move and pay somebody that doesn't deserve it. Risi: That's what the Well. Well, that's what they did last year with in the playoff even in the playoffs. They were bringing up the young guys. They had the Barkeys and so I mean, Jonesy and and Danny B are they're they're hockey guys and they're doing the right thing. So it was I said it last year when they signed Rick Tocket as our head coach. I'm like, ⁓ it's gonna be more of the same crap. I'm I ⁓ they're they make those dumb decisions, but I was wrong. Like it's been a great team. They've done a they're they there is they're bringing in fresh blood and they're doing the right things to build the team. Joe: Yeah, you were out on Rick Tocket when they hired him. I remember that. Mike: Yeah. Risi: Because I didn't I mean I love Rick Taket, but I didn't want like I didn't want what you just said. They're gonna make this dumbass move and they're gonna screw us again. Like I I just didn't want the what's been happening. I've never seen the cup. I I was actually at W I w well, I was at Wildwood when the cup was there from ⁓ I forget ⁓ the one of the hurricane guys who won local guy. And he and I'm and I'm at Wildwood with in its in its right. I'm not fucking seeing it. I'm not touching it. It's all Fugazi. Joe: Never, right. Mike: Yeah. It's not ours. Risi: It's not ours. I can't stand it. The Holly the the cup was at Hollidale again, and I'm I'm not doing it. I won't I refuse to do it until the Flyers win. Not doing it. I got one more thing real quick on this. That Broads douchebag, ⁓ that fucking clown. He went on the parade. He went to the fucking the Carolina Hurricanes parade. Like Yeah, ⁓ I it's all it you just don't do it. Like even if I I got invited, like unless it's like a direct family member, even then it's kind of debatable. Like, no Joe: Mm-hmm. In-Person: you Mike: ⁓ because the kid from fucking here? Joe: Why do you do it? Mike: No. Nah. In-Person: That's okay. Mike: Yeah. That's the Joe: Nah, Chris, if Liam played for the fucking the Rangers and they won the Stanley Cup, you'd be out there. Yeah. He said maybe though. Risi: ⁓ all right, never. Mike: He said if it was yeah, if it was family he just said family. Risi: Alright, that but it if it's a cousin, I d I don't know. Like it I don't know. I'll go to the after party maybe, but like to celebrate with a different Ye apparently. I didn't watch it. I'm not wa Mike: ⁓ yeah, yeah, I can get with Chris there. Like if it's a cousin, I don't know. Like that's cool. Was he on the float? Like on the bus? Joe: That guy that guy's your nemesis, right? Like he's your nemesis in ⁓ the sports radio, Philadelphia sports radio, he's a guy you hate. Risi: I do I do hate him, yeah. I do. I don't know. I'd kick his ass, guaranteed, no doubt about it. Mike: Did you s did you play hockey against each other? Joe: Chris, no doubt in my mind. I'd fucking kick his ass. Mike: 'Cause like I I know one or both of my brothers know him. Like yeah. Like they went to school together, so these had to have played in leagues against each other, right? I would imagine. Risi: ⁓ really? I'll kick his ass. No guaranteed in hockey, no doubt about it. I don't know, he don't want none of this. He don't want none of this. I have no idea. In-Person: you Joe: Breaking news. Mike: We have jersey number updates. Risi: Ooh. Mike: QB Cole Payton is going from number 10 to number 18. Cornerback Jonathan Jones will be going from number 32 to 31. Rocco Underwood, 37 to 41. ⁓ on the injured reserve list, we have Sandre Sam from number 31 to 32. Practice squad changes. Jaden Blue will now be number 30. Robert Longerbeam will be 38. Mason Rager will be 43. Kira Majigad will be 73. And Britain Covey. Joe: All right. Mike: This is the big one. We'll be going from number eighteen to number eighty five. Risi: ⁓ I gotta switch my jersey number. Eighty five. Joe: Wow. Wow. Mike: Yeah, that's Joe: Those are pri I think those are the guys they don't even ask. They just give ⁓ jerseys with their names on it and it's like, ⁓ my number was eighteen last year and they're like, ⁓ okay. Risi: Ha ha ha. Mike: But that was Brain Covey. Bray and Covey's worn eighteen since he's been here. Like no, I I agree. I agree. But I'm just saying that's a little weird, right? Like he's had that for a while. Why Covey was So Covey was a here we go. Covey was a victim of Peyton having to change out of number 10. The rookie quarterback took number 18 to force Covey into number eighty five, which he briefly had after rejoining the team last year. Risi: Yeah, why would Joe: I don't care what Britton Covey has to say about his number. Like I don't think Maybe he doesn't care either. He might not care either. And they're like, he got one with eighty five and he's like, Whatever. Mike: Too big of a number for such a small receiver stock down. I agree. That's too big of a number for somebody that small. Risi: ⁓ You know on a s on a side note, we did his HVAC at his house. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey shot a very nice guy. Forgot all about this. The team did a excellent job fixing his HVAC. New system and everything. I forgot all about that. He l he's in Utah. Joe: Yeah. Mike: ⁓ cobbies? So we have fourteen sixteen ⁓ this is a thing that's going on. So Cole Payton went from ten to number eighteen. So we have number one, we have number fourteen Andy Dalton, number sixteen, Tanner McKee, and number eighteen is Peyton is Payton. So they're playing this ⁓ every other number deal in the quarterback room. Yeah. Joe: Even numbers. Mike: No, that's our yeah, I don't like it either. It's kinda stupid. That's kinda dumb. yeah, what do we get? Risi: I don't like it. I don't like it. Mike: ⁓ wait, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Can't do that. Risi: Hold on, I got a do you I got another one about Britton Covey. Do you know who his grandfather is? It's Stephen Covey, the guy who wrote the seven habits of highly effective people. Yeah, I did not know that. Mike: ⁓ is it really? I've I've I've read that book like fifteen times. Risi: Me too. I have like the cards right here on my desk. I didn't realize this is grandfather. Yeah. Mike: I didn't re that's his grandfather? I mean what the I guess he went to college for free. He went to college What did he need a scholarship for? Anyway, ⁓ all right, what do we got? ⁓ fantasy ball Paul is postponed yet again. One day the segment will happen. ⁓ quick ⁓ let's go quick things. ⁓ Great Eagles Final fifty three man roster, eighth ref, Joe. Risi: Ha ha. Joe: ⁓ B. Mike: ⁓ Chris. Risi: I gotta go with D as well. Mike: Yeah, I think so too. I'm gonna go B. ⁓ Chris, four quarterbacks, smart or overkill? Risi: And how we we trust smart. Mike: Joe. Joe: Overkill. Mike: One player you're happy that survived the cut down day? Anyone? Britain Covey. He's on the yeah. Joe: Breaking coffee. Risi: Mm. Well, did he survive? Well I guess he did survive. Joe: Well he's on the practi they can bring him back if they need some Yeah, like who's gonna be returning kicks if he has a bad week, you can just press the button and get covey. You he's gonna catch the ball Risi: Yeah, yeah. I Mike: I'm going Carson Steel. Joe: I love Carson Steele. Risi: ⁓ I'm going covey as well. Mike: Who do you wish they kept? One player we lost. Joe: I don't I don't care. Any of those guys. Yeah. Maybe Latu, maybe Latu. He had some you know I think he has a future. Mike: Yeah, I I agree. Yeah. Do you have anybody that sticks out to you, Chris? Risi: No. No no no one I'm gonna remember. Mike: Who scores the touchdown week one? Risi: ⁓ Jalen. Jalen hurts. Tush push. Mike: S saquan. Saquon Joe. Joe: Jalen Hurts on a touch push. One yard sneak, Jalen Hurts. Mike: ⁓ okay. What NFC team do you think is overrated entering this season? I think Joe said it already. Yeah, I agree. Actually I'm not even gonna go Rams. I'm going Detroit. They're done. They're done. They're done. Joe: Rams. Yeah, it's another one. I think they're done. Yeah. Risi: The w they were done last year. Mike: Chris, who do you should? Risi: Mm I don't know what I who would I pick for overrated? I still go with Chicago. Mike: Chicago? Joe: Yeah, well you know why I don't say Chicago? Because I'm I yeah, I'm not the only one out there that says that they're gonna be not good. There's a lot of people saying that. So Risi: I don't trust I don't trust in him. Mike: Yeah. Risi: No. I d Mike: Who do you think we're overlooking in the NFC? Joe: I got one. Mike: I say l ⁓ mine's Atlanta. Joe: ⁓ I got the the Packers. Mike: Yeah? I mean I think everybody thinks they're decent. Joe: I think so. I mean everybody thinks they're decent. I think they're better than decent though. I think they're gonna b they're gonna make some noises. Mike: Chris? Risi: Overlooking this year. ⁓ don't know if I'm over Mike: Or I I got another one. Joe: You said Atlanta. You gotta defend that. Like Risi: Yeah I don't know. Mike: I I think Atlanta's finally gonna put their shit together. They have like a a decent running game, they have decent wide receivers. The quarterback's the biggest question, right? But like Joe: Fucking Tua Taglio via. Like I yeah, no. Kinda, sorta's kinda Panix is still hurt, so kinda. So they're being Risi: Yeah. Mike: He he he beat out Penix, right? Risi: Yeah. Mike: Yeah. Yeah. My other one I was gonna say is I I'm kinda maybe a little worried about the Giants. I think what's the same Harbaugh can kinda turn him around. Joe: Yeah. Yeah, he's a good coach. Like they're gonna be good they're you know. Mike: ⁓ my my saving grace to why I'm thinking they might not be good is because I think the the the two stars are are literally fucking retarded. Joe: Yeah. Risi: Well, and that and they still play on that field. So like Mike: Yeah, I mean and and Scadaboo who I think is or could be a really good player, I just think he's dumb and he's gonna hurt himself. Yeah. Yeah. Joe: Yeah. He's gonna get concussions like over and over again and he's gonna get mad and they're gonna be like, You have a concussion He's gonna be like, No, I'm not like you know, it's gonna probably be some of that shit. Mike: Yeah. And and I think Dart's the same way too. Not as extreme. Sorry. Risi: Yeah, who You know who I but ⁓ here's my overlook. I'm gonna go with ⁓ I kinda hate to say this, but I think the Cowboys. Like if Dax healthy, ⁓ pretty good. Mike: No. No. The they they are who they always are. Joe: Ye ⁓ dude, the Cowboys are the same thing every year. They're always pretty good. Risi: Yeah. Okay. But like I don't know. They I don't I so I just feel like sometimes they they can get some this I just don't want them to be like if they end up playing us this year and like I could just see them catching fire just to kick our ass. Mike: ⁓ I I ⁓ You just feel like this th this is our year? This is our year. It's like Joe: You feel like it's her year? Mike: I really feel like if Chris stands up he's gonna be wearing jean shorts and a pair of blue and white Allen Irison shoes. Joe: Ha ha Mike: ⁓ shit. It's our year. I I mean look look I I I never I never think the Cowboys are gonna be bad. I don't think I ever think that that they're gonna be a shitty team. It's like they but they're the same team every year. They're gonna do decent and then the end of year. Yeah, exactly. We'll contend with them for the for the what's his name? For the c for yep. Joe: Sorry. Risi: It's our year. Joe: Right. Pretty good. They'll win ten, eleven games. You know, the pat ⁓ Yeah. It'll be us or them that win the division. And, you know, the Dak Prescott's gonna throw for a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns if he s you know stays healthy and all that stuff. But they just they are what they are. They're they're designed to be relevant. You know, they're not really designed to win a championship. Risi: That's fair. Mike: Alright, let's wrap this show up. ⁓ let's wrap it up on this ⁓ fun a little exercise. ⁓ one player you think has the most pressure going into week one from the Eagles. Yeah, right. I don't know if Okay. Yeah, I think yeah, 'cause Jalen's the I I think he has the most pressure the whole entire year. And he has a he did it he just did a whole GQ article that's supposed to be really good read and listen to the talks we yeah, it just came out yesterday or today. Supposedly really good, so check it out. I'll go check it out. Joe: Jalen Hurts. Risi: ⁓ let's go offense and defense at least, because that's gotta be slam duncan's it's Jalen Hurts. Yeah. Joe: Yeah. Risi: ⁓ really? Joe: ⁓ on defense fr on d I think jihad Campbell, because they're handing him the keys to the car. You know, I think he's got a lot of pressure on like here you go, kid. You know, we clear we kinda cleared it out for you. You're you know, it's Zach's gonna be next to you. It's you two are our guys. And you know, he's a hometown guy for the most part. Like he's where he grew up, Siclerville or something like that. So he's ⁓ you got the keys to the car. Mike: ⁓ defensively? ⁓ yes, I agree with that. Yeah. He he also has friends that can stake d that can take the star wide receiver's car and hide it in a different city. Joe: Yeah. Risi: I I'm thinking on the D's like, what do you you have ⁓ Coop all by himself? He's got Coop like Coop losing his best pal, Reed. I that's ⁓ he's got some pressure back there to kind of hold it back together. Now I know he's gonna he's a good player, right? So I think he'll be okay. But that to me, there's some pressure there for Coop. Mike: I was just actually gonna say that. I kind of agree. I think there might be two, I agree. Like it like two good years in a row, rookie season and second season. Like is he gonna be able to hold his own again on the third season? Joe: Right. These guys, they've been given leadership of the secondary unit, those two guys. Mike: Yeah, like I wouldn't even say Quinyon because like I feel like we just y you never hear his name. We never talk about Quinyan, you never f like like n everybody knows he's good. So like I don't think there's a t but but like Coop I feel like got kind of just thrown into the spotlight. And, you know, I I Risi: Perfect. Yep. Joe: Yeah. Well, he's more flashy 'cause he does more. Like Q, you don't talk about him because it's like you didn't hear his name all game, but then you look at the end of the game and the guy he was on had, you know, four targets for one catch for seven yards, you know what I mean, and that's it. And Coop gets involved around a line of scrimmage, ⁓ you know, covers why he does it all kinda. But Mike: Yes. Two catches Yeah, exactly. Risi: Mm-hmm. Joe: They they really did turn turn the keys over to the secondary of those two guys 'cause re don't discount what Reed Blank and show he wasn't as talented as those other guys, but he was the calming force, the veteran at that position that kinda made sure those guys were probably looking at the right things. I'm positive. ⁓ now they don't have that. They're gonna be it's gonna be them.
