- 0:00Speaker 1: Look who's in the studio is Andrew Ordison got Super Rugby.
- 0:02Speaker 1: You know, during the week I was thinking Super Rubby
- 0:05Speaker 1: too soon, too hot, and then of course what happened.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I watched all of it over the weekend and the
- 0:09Speaker 1: crowds were big and the footy was great. I think
- 0:12Speaker 1: a compelling start and also those closest games as well.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I think it had really helped with keeping you, I guess,
- 0:20Speaker 1: entertained and engaged in all those fixtures. So yeah, good starting.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I mean, you know when you see that the Blues
- 0:26Speaker 2: are kept on the bottom of the table at the moment,
- 0:28Speaker 2: defending Jambians up for the first week, well you've got
- 0:31Speaker 2: to go that decent competition.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's because some father called Damian McKenzie, who had a
- 0:34Speaker 1: funny old season last year he was either genius ordatrocious,
- 0:39Speaker 1: shows that he's learned something over the off season.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Oh well that's right, and you know he's got a
- 0:44Speaker 2: guess some of incentive still to go Damian McKenzie to
- 0:47Speaker 2: be in the mix et cent for the All Blacks
- 0:49Speaker 2: later on and those sorts of things. So yeah, it's
- 0:52Speaker 2: I mean, whine A Pacific are putting up a good
- 0:54Speaker 2: show as well.
- 0:55Speaker 1: They traveled halfway around the world and took the Western
- 0:59Speaker 1: Force to town and only lost by one US is
- 1:02Speaker 1: it forty five forty four?
- 1:04Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, I mean that's all part of it,
- 1:06Speaker 2: is it? But I think most people would be quite
- 1:09Speaker 2: entertained by that first week and just your boats well
- 1:13Speaker 2: for the competition, because I'm always reluctant as well. I
- 1:15Speaker 2: think I'm mid February. Is that really the time to
- 1:19Speaker 2: be starting rugby?
- 1:19Speaker 1: But yeah, great and warm, Yeah, and it made for
- 1:23Speaker 1: some running rub.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Exactly exactly and the part of grounds, et cetera.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So that definitely helps two things. Yannick Simmer, the Italian
- 1:32Speaker 1: tennis player, doping and all that sort of thing, tell
- 1:35Speaker 1: me about what's happening with that band?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well not, it's a bit of a sweetheart deal and
- 1:41Speaker 2: what will be a two year band has been reduced
- 1:43Speaker 2: to three months. Probably some good lawyers involved there, but
- 1:46Speaker 2: it's the fact that it really is we bus ticket
- 1:50Speaker 2: type type punishment and he's not even going to miss
- 1:53Speaker 2: the French Open, so it's three months. So it's kind
- 1:55Speaker 2: of negotiated and it looks like he's had more power
- 1:59Speaker 2: than actually the institutions involved in running the sport. Yeah,
- 2:03Speaker 2: that he's able to negotiate the deal.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm sorry, the excuse seemed flimsy. Yeah, exactly, exactly so.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And I just think doping's doping, and you've got it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You've got to be so vigilant about that. And others
- 2:18Speaker 2: have gone for skates for probably lesser crimes.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah, and that remember, well the other was lucky.
- 2:24Speaker 1: He is lucky. I think so too. Meanwhile, shanevan Gisberg
- 2:27Speaker 1: is doing the Daytona five hundred the super Speedway and
- 2:30Speaker 1: I was hearing that over the news. You know, this
- 2:33Speaker 1: is a very even competition. I actually think he's going
- 2:35Speaker 1: to be quite good because he's an elbows out driver. Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I always I don't like that description.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Actually, yeah, it's and and of course with the Dayton
- 2:43Speaker 2: five hundred, I think they'd reduce the horsepower down at
- 2:45Speaker 2: least from what correspondents telling us, and that means you
- 2:48Speaker 2: get more pack racing involved in it. And I'm sure
- 2:51Speaker 2: we'll become experts on dayton across the course of the morning.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But you know, it's it's another for a by New
- 2:58Speaker 2: Zealand motorsport driver to the top echelon of a certain
- 3:02Speaker 2: discipline and I think we're going to look back on
- 3:04Speaker 2: this as a real golden era for New Zealanders and
- 3:07Speaker 2: most across the board.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So you've seen Liam Lawson playing the guitar, No, it's
- 3:12Speaker 1: on social media, came out.
- 3:14Speaker 2: He just sits.
- 3:15Speaker 1: He's amazing and he can sing. I mean, is there
- 3:19Speaker 1: that right? Is there nothing? This is what we can't do?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Is no end to his talents? Yeah? Look, and also
- 3:26Speaker 1: I really loved all your skiing, your skiing commentary, just
- 3:31Speaker 1: the tricks and the names of the tricks. It's like
- 3:33Speaker 1: you're speaking another language. It is.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I've got no idea what I'm saying, but there I
- 3:37Speaker 2: felt like putting allegedly in front of it. Sick work
- 3:41Speaker 2: Andrew and words they say. For more from Early Edition
