Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Alright, alright, you're alive from Billy. It's the Polly and
- 0:10Speaker 1: Tony Foolsco Show. Yo. Yeah, always Polly Foolsco Here with
- 0:16Speaker 1: Tony Foolsco and Tony Huge show today. You know, a
- 0:21Speaker 1: lots to talk about. You know, first off, people out
- 0:24Speaker 1: there claiming that the Eagles lost to the Commanders. We'll
- 0:29Speaker 1: tell you who the real loses off people, and I'll
- 0:32Speaker 1: give you a hint. It's the Commander's fans. And you know,
- 0:36Speaker 1: also we said last week, you know, hit the nail
- 0:38Speaker 1: right on the head. We said Jeff Saturday was a
- 0:41Speaker 1: smart higher by the Colts and we were proven right
- 0:45Speaker 1: once again, weren't we Tony? Of course? What else is now?
- 0:49Speaker 1: You heard it here first? Exactly? Well, the execs a
- 0:52Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio. You know, we have this new partnership
- 0:55Speaker 1: with them that you know, I'm already starting to regret, Tony.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You know, they asked us to have a guest on
- 1:00Speaker 1: the show this week to talk about the Colts coaching situation. Uh,
- 1:04Speaker 1: They're given us a former NFL offensive lineman, and you
- 1:08Speaker 1: know he said, there's many times who wants to hear
- 1:10Speaker 1: from an offensive lineman? Just a terrible booking today and
- 1:15Speaker 1: on top of that, get this Tody he owes the podcast.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Listen to this title. This is the title of his podcast,
- 1:22Speaker 1: Jeff Schwartz is Smarter than You. That is the actual
- 1:26Speaker 1: title of the podcast, which just shows you what this
- 1:29Speaker 1: clown thinks of himself. Yeah, pretty big ego on this guy.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. You know we're gonna have to put him
- 1:35Speaker 1: in his place. But before we get to all that,
- 1:38Speaker 1: got to do a little business up top, a sponsor
- 1:40Speaker 1: read for our dear friends at Casper Mattress. Did you
- 1:45Speaker 1: get your mattress at a department store where a hundred
- 1:47Speaker 1: people could have slept on it? That's disgusting. Yeah, you
- 1:52Speaker 1: probably can't sleep at night because you're too busy worrying
- 1:55Speaker 1: about all the diseases that you caught. Casper Mattress is
- 1:58Speaker 1: because if your mattress doesn't come in the box, it's
- 2:01Speaker 1: gross us. The discount code Polly and Tony number one
- 2:04Speaker 1: show for one point to percent off your first order
- 2:07Speaker 1: on the twenty dollars Casper. Alright, well, we got that
- 2:11Speaker 1: business out of the way, Tony, and there's so much
- 2:13Speaker 1: to get do, so let's get right into a top
- 2:16Speaker 1: story story. Alright, First, out the gate War of words
- 2:23Speaker 1: breaking out in the NFL over the controversial hiring of
- 2:28Speaker 1: Colts head coach Jeff Saturday. And you know, all last
- 2:31Speaker 1: week people out there, they were moaning and whining about
- 2:35Speaker 1: the hiring because Saturday had zero professional coaching experience. Well
- 2:40Speaker 1: now look now, look it was a career winning percentage there.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You know, people that's still just up in arms about this.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You got the former Steeler's head coach, Pil Kalla. He
- 2:51Speaker 1: was on CBSS NFL today, you know, that show which
- 2:55Speaker 1: is literally never interesting at all, but for one show
- 2:58Speaker 1: in the history of television, and you go anyway, you know, Colla.
- 3:02Speaker 1: He came out and he said that the hiring of
- 3:04Speaker 1: Jeff Saturday is an insult the coaches who have worked
- 3:08Speaker 1: their way up the ranks, you know, spent years in coaching.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Well then just the other day, on the other side
- 3:13Speaker 1: of this, you've got Mad Dog Russo, who is now
- 3:15Speaker 1: on the ESPN's first Take for some reason that nobody
- 3:19Speaker 1: could explain, but that's another story. Anyway, Russo comes out
- 3:22Speaker 1: and he says that Kawa is an insult to broadcasters
- 3:26Speaker 1: because he had no broadcasting experience and yet got a
- 3:30Speaker 1: job at CBS. And you know, tell any when you
- 3:32Speaker 1: look at it, Russo for once as a very good
- 3:36Speaker 1: point here, doesn't it absolutely Bill cow was mere presence
- 3:40Speaker 1: on television is an insult to all the broadcasters who
- 3:43Speaker 1: worked their way up, like Mike Tarrico. I mean, Mike
- 3:47Speaker 1: Tarrico put in the time, and it's sad to see
- 3:50Speaker 1: Bill Coward disrespect Mike Tarrico that way. When you think
- 3:54Speaker 1: about it, it's only fair that when an NFL coaches
- 3:58Speaker 1: want to get into broadcasting, they should have to start
- 4:01Speaker 1: out in a small market like Wichita, Topeka, you know,
- 4:05Speaker 1: on the six o'clock news as an entire or production
- 4:08Speaker 1: assistant for a few years before they earn their way
- 4:12Speaker 1: to a bigger market like maybe Des Moines or Sancramento,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and then they can get to be on CBS. Great point, Tonty.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And you know, this story actually has sprung a whole
- 4:23Speaker 1: news storyline because now people are bashing Raiders head coach
- 4:28Speaker 1: Josh McDaniels because he lost to Jeff Saturday. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: they're saying that McDaniels should have won the game because
- 4:35Speaker 1: he has twenty years more professional coaching experience, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 1: compared to Saturday. But these fools are once again missing
- 4:42Speaker 1: the point, aren't they, Tony? They don't get it at all.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You know, people keep focusing on coaching experience, but what
- 4:50Speaker 1: about life experience. Jeff Saturday is one year older than
- 4:55Speaker 1: Josh McDaniels. He's forty seven, and Josh McDaniels is just
- 4:59Speaker 1: forty six. Think about it. Remember when you were in
- 5:02Speaker 1: seventh grade, you know way more than you did in
- 5:05Speaker 1: the sixth grade because you had a whole extra year
- 5:09Speaker 1: of life. As the saying goes, you can't teach an
- 5:12Speaker 1: old dog new tricks, but an old dog knows way
- 5:16Speaker 1: more than a young dog. So well, put that, Tony,
- 5:21Speaker 1: and you know, truly a lot of food for thought there.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And you know another point that I haven't heard anyone
- 5:26Speaker 1: in the media make because they're lazy. Jeff Saturday, he
- 5:30Speaker 1: played center. I mean, people always act like quarterback is
- 5:33Speaker 1: the most important position on the theme great, that's not
- 5:36Speaker 1: true at all, right, right, Tony, It's called center for
- 5:42Speaker 1: a reason. You can't run a play without your center.
- 5:45Speaker 1: The center is at the center of the entire football organization.
- 5:50Speaker 1: This is why we've always said Peyton Manning is overrated.
- 5:54Speaker 1: If Jeff Saturday hadn't expertly delivered the ball to Peyton
- 5:58Speaker 1: Manning's hands every time that nobody would even know who
- 6:01Speaker 1: Peyton Maning is today. You know, Tony, sometimes the truth
- 6:05Speaker 1: is very hard for people to accept. And you know
- 6:07Speaker 1: you can't deny that that was all true what you
- 6:10Speaker 1: said right there. Thank you? Yeah, yeah, there we go.
- 6:14Speaker 1: All right. The next story here, not the top story
- 6:17Speaker 1: because frankly it's not that big a deal. But the Eagles,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you know, finally quote unquote lost their first game of
- 6:22Speaker 1: the season to Washington on Monday night. Now people are
- 6:25Speaker 1: saying this is because the command has played well. No,
- 6:29Speaker 1: there was a clear missed face most penalty on the Eagles.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Dallas go to it and you know that was the
- 6:35Speaker 1: whole game right there. And you know this would have
- 6:38Speaker 1: never happened, Tony, if the NFL had been smart and
- 6:41Speaker 1: had taken our advice, the advice we gave right on
- 6:44Speaker 1: the show. If you're weeks to go the Dean Blandino,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and it implemented the system that we suggested. You know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: instead of having one team of refs on the field
- 6:53Speaker 1: and letting them do whatever they want, no, you have
- 6:55Speaker 1: another team of refs that to overseeing them. As we said,
- 6:59Speaker 1: ref ref the refs. You know, this is America. Our
- 7:05Speaker 1: country was founded on a system of checks and balances.
- 7:08Speaker 1: We're giving refs way too much power. If our founding
- 7:12Speaker 1: fathers like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln saw what was
- 7:16Speaker 1: going on in the NFL, they would be absolutely horrified.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You're absolutely right, Donty. And you know it's even more
- 7:23Speaker 1: horrifying here there are young kids at home watching these games.
- 7:28Speaker 1: What example is the league setting if a player can
- 7:31Speaker 1: just openly break a rule and totally get away with it.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You know, what are we kids these days? You know,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you and need We don't have kids, luckily, but if
- 7:39Speaker 1: we did, I would be horrified by the terrible example
- 7:43Speaker 1: the NFL is setting it. I mean, I don't want
- 7:46Speaker 1: to sound like this is hyperball, but this makes me
- 7:49Speaker 1: worry about the future of our country. To be honest,
- 7:52Speaker 1: You're not the only one, Tonty. And you know, just
- 7:54Speaker 1: another small thing to mention here, because you know the
- 7:57Speaker 1: media refuses to cover it, you know, because that hoards
- 8:00Speaker 1: another bone I have to pick with the commanders. They're
- 8:03Speaker 1: stealing a page right out of the Eagles playbook, right
- 8:06Speaker 1: before everybody's eyes. You know, it's pure and simple plagiarism.
- 8:09Speaker 1: What they're doing. They saw how the Eagles want a
- 8:11Speaker 1: Super Bowl, right, you're bringing conson Wentz constum Wentz goes
- 8:14Speaker 1: down with an injury because he's brittle and his body
- 8:16Speaker 1: can't be trusted. And then you go to a backup
- 8:19Speaker 1: You'll be who nobody has ever heard of. That is
- 8:22Speaker 1: totally straight out of the Eagles playbook. Totally plagiarism. And Donty,
- 8:26Speaker 1: you know this would be an uproar. That would be
- 8:28Speaker 1: an uproar if we saw this in some other industry,
- 8:31Speaker 1: because you see it all the time, don't you. Absolutely
- 8:35Speaker 1: we also see this plagiarism in Hollywood. You know, I
- 8:38Speaker 1: remember when one of the all time great volcano movies
- 8:41Speaker 1: came out, of course I'm talking about Dante's Peak with
- 8:44Speaker 1: Piers Brosnan. Well, a month after that came out, Tommy
- 8:49Speaker 1: Lee Jones came out with another volcano movie called Volcano,
- 8:53Speaker 1: And if I remember correctly, Dante's Peak sued Volcano and
- 8:58Speaker 1: that's why nobody ever talks about Volcano to this day. Wow,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you know, Tony, such a terrific and clear analogy that
- 9:07Speaker 1: uh so perfectly connecting the dots for the audience. So
- 9:10Speaker 1: they can understand that Dante's peak is the Eagles and
- 9:14Speaker 1: Volcano is the commander. Is terrific job by your thank
- 9:18Speaker 1: you well. On the subject of not doing a terrific job.
- 9:22Speaker 1: That goes to whoever guest today, because now it's time
- 9:25Speaker 1: for a guest segment. I see him coming on the line,
- 9:28Speaker 1: so let's bring him on the Fusco Satellite network. Satellit Alright,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I guess former offensive lineman with the Panthers, Vikings, Chiefs Giants.
- 9:43Speaker 1: You can hear him on Fox Sports Radio. He also
- 9:45Speaker 1: hosts a podcast this is very interesting, called Jeff Schwartz
- 9:50Speaker 1: is Smarter than You, which is a hell of a
- 9:53Speaker 1: title for a show. There. You know, clearly thinks very
- 9:55Speaker 1: highly of himself there. Yeah, anyway, so let's just get
- 9:58Speaker 1: him on the show. We're gonna have to just take
- 10:02Speaker 1: you down a couple of nine games. We're gonna have
- 10:04Speaker 1: to get he was given the benefit of the doubt here.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Maybe maybe he is maybe he is smart, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: Jeff obviously the big story out of the NFL, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 1: Jeff Saturday winning his first game as head coach of
- 10:17Speaker 1: the Cults, which we totally called. He beat the Raiders
- 10:20Speaker 1: despite having no previous NFL coaching experience, and even in
- 10:24Speaker 1: the process he shut up all his critics like yourself,
- 10:28Speaker 1: isn't that game just proof right there that you and
- 10:30Speaker 1: everyone else but totally wrong about the Jeff Saturday Higher Maybe,
- 10:36Speaker 1: I mean, we'll see how it goes afterwards. It could
- 10:38Speaker 1: be the Raiders also stinged UM and they got Matt
- 10:42Speaker 1: Ryan back, which I think a lot of us would
- 10:43Speaker 1: have felt differently if we knew Matt Ryan was playing
- 10:47Speaker 1: for He was playing thirty minutes before the game. So
- 10:50Speaker 1: we could be wrong, certainly, But I think that maybe
- 10:55Speaker 1: we have we have we think too highly of coaches
- 10:59Speaker 1: at time, how much kind of work they put in Um.
- 11:02Speaker 1: But we'll see. I mean, you know, well, I'm curious
- 11:05Speaker 1: if anyone else does this, Like if the Raiders fire,
- 11:07Speaker 1: Josh McDaniels are gonna be gonna bring in how he
- 11:10Speaker 1: longed to coach a team, like who's gonna be the Raiders?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Well that would actually I would actually be kind of interested.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Don't see how long coach of Dame. You know, he
- 11:17Speaker 1: is a level star, you know, I mean, don't you
- 11:20Speaker 1: think I mean, you're getting somewhere with this, you know, Jeff,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Jeff Saturday was a center, right, so he was the center.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Everything had to go through him. So doesn't that seem
- 11:29Speaker 1: like you are an offensive lineman. Doesn't it make sense
- 11:32Speaker 1: why a center would make a great coach. They're calling
- 11:35Speaker 1: all the plays quarterbacks called the place, Um, but who's
- 11:41Speaker 1: the one who has to stop the play? That's the
- 11:44Speaker 1: definitely anything. He definitely is one of the two guys
- 11:48Speaker 1: that that that touches the ball every single place. So there,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I'll give you this credit on that one. Um. I
- 11:53Speaker 1: think Saturday is is very bright. He's a good motivator. Obviously,
- 11:56Speaker 1: we obviously not as as things. There's obviously game planning
- 12:01Speaker 1: whatnot that he nailed in a week one already. So
- 12:03Speaker 1: it kind of makes guys like me look stupid to me. Yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 1: is it really great? Yeah, we go see. Was starting
- 12:09Speaker 1: addition that maybe you should retitle your show. Jeff Schwartz
- 12:14Speaker 1: is not as quite smart as he thought he was.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Wasn't that would not be a more accident. Yeah, it's
- 12:20Speaker 1: not as catchy though. I feel like it's a little
- 12:22Speaker 1: catch Great, what about you are smarter than Jeff Schwartz.
- 12:26Speaker 1: That's also a good part. I'll run that run that
- 12:30Speaker 1: by my my my podcast. But you know you hear
- 12:32Speaker 1: on something there. You said head coaching experience is overrated.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You know, we pointed out something early in the year,
- 12:38Speaker 1: though what I said, I said, I said it might
- 12:42Speaker 1: be overrated. Take he's moon walking? What explain yourself. I
- 12:51Speaker 1: did not say that it's overrated every single situation. But
- 12:54Speaker 1: I think we've seen at times that even if you
- 12:57Speaker 1: get the head coach before you were unsuccessful, that does
- 12:59Speaker 1: not mean you will be successful the second time around, right, um,
- 13:02Speaker 1: And so maybe it's something to the idea again one
- 13:05Speaker 1: game sample size, that not having an experience for this
- 13:08Speaker 1: specific position might pay off and you can have good
- 13:11Speaker 1: coaches around you. Well, are you saying that you hadn't
- 13:14Speaker 1: experienced somewhere with a head coach and you realize this
- 13:17Speaker 1: person was overrated and you'll potentially want to name names
- 13:20Speaker 1: here right now on this show. Yeah, I play with
- 13:24Speaker 1: some good coaches. Man. I never felt like anyone was
- 13:26Speaker 1: looking back out of the answer today. Okay, and you
- 13:29Speaker 1: know somehow no that a head coach could be overrated? Okay,
- 13:32Speaker 1: keep going, Yeah, you kiss as answer? All right, that's
- 13:37Speaker 1: some good because I mean is that the thing you
- 13:40Speaker 1: hacker good right now is a Broncos coach. Good are
- 13:43Speaker 1: you asking us? It just looked at his reckon you're
- 13:46Speaker 1: not good. I thought you were smarter than everybody. Can
- 13:50Speaker 1: you read a NFL? Looked like I'm a little concerned.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Thought y'all thought you're your head coaching hired two years ago?
- 13:57Speaker 1: Was a bum? No that said that. In fact, when
- 14:00Speaker 1: he said that legendary press conference. Yeah, were the ones
- 14:03Speaker 1: who said this is a sign, a good sign? YEA.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Go back to the people said arian he couldn't put
- 14:10Speaker 1: two words together. We said, who cares? He? That is
- 14:14Speaker 1: more focused on football? You're focused on speaking exactly fair enough,
- 14:19Speaker 1: fair enough. Yeah? I was wrong about that one too,
- 14:22Speaker 1: But then again, why do you call your show? Jeff?
- 14:25Speaker 1: You've admitted that you're wrong now, I think twenty times
- 14:28Speaker 1: in this interview. I think it's time correct. I'm absolutely
- 14:33Speaker 1: horrified by your performance in this interview. It's really been
- 14:36Speaker 1: terrible for you. So can I just get you to
- 14:38Speaker 1: admit that after this interview, you're gonna go change the
- 14:41Speaker 1: name of your podcast. Let me give you a better topic. Yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 1: here's a better title for you. Jeff Schwartz is of
- 14:47Speaker 1: below average intelligence? Will you change it to that? Yeah?
- 14:51Speaker 1: If everyone goes and yes, of all the shameless plug,
- 14:57Speaker 1: he's adding conditions. Bolly, you know the title for this show,
- 15:01Speaker 1: it's called Jeff Schwartz has got his task kicked off? Jeff,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you finished what? You can't admit anything this show? Jeff
- 15:16Speaker 1: st is he off the line? Jay, hang up the phone?
- 15:22Speaker 1: You know, don'ty If that's the type of person that
- 15:25Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio considers talent, I am definitely questioning this
- 15:29Speaker 1: spot in the ship. Absolutely, we shouldn't known. Yeah, anyway,
- 15:35Speaker 1: all right, let's not go out on a negative note.
- 15:37Speaker 1: He a positive note. We're gonna thank god sponsor that
- 15:39Speaker 1: Casper mattresses no corrections. If it isn't the one person
- 15:46Speaker 1: Jeff Schwartz is actually smarter than the produce Jet there
- 15:50Speaker 1: what what number one? You said, Jeff Saturday has a
- 15:55Speaker 1: career winning percentage of he does that? That's not how
- 16:00Speaker 1: stats work. You can't use percentages when a guy has
- 16:04Speaker 1: only coached one game. Oh yeah, well here's a percentage.
- 16:10Speaker 1: You are a d annoying Yeah, I'm gonna hate you
- 16:14Speaker 1: with one of my car after this show. Now we're done.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah. Second second, another one you called the
- 16:23Speaker 1: Eagles player Dallas go dirt. Yeah. No, his name is
- 16:29Speaker 1: pronounced Goddard, Yeah, as in God. Why did you give
- 16:35Speaker 1: us such a producer? Yeah, your face is going to
- 16:39Speaker 1: go in the dirt when I see you after this
- 16:43Speaker 1: show with no more one more thing? What what On
- 16:50Speaker 1: the subject of pronunciations, Tony, you said the word hyper bowl. Yeah, no,
- 16:58Speaker 1: it's pronounced hi pur bow ye. Oh yeah, Well I'm
- 17:04Speaker 1: going to kick you in your hyper bowls if you
- 17:07Speaker 1: catch my drift. Yeah, pronounce this, you suck producer j
- 17:12Speaker 1: good one that anyway. But I do have a reason
- 17:19Speaker 1: to interrupt right now, Tonty, because I just got a
- 17:21Speaker 1: big word now booked on the show for next week.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Eagles Legends, super Bowl Hero Nick Falls. Wow, we look Wow.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Finally forget to follow us on our many hugely successful
- 17:36Speaker 1: social platforms Dick doc Instagram, Twitter, We're all yeah, We're
- 17:40Speaker 1: all over, Donty. Great job as always, Same to you, PAULI.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Another flawless show. You go, all right, We'll see if
- 17:49Speaker 1: people next week to fight. See you
