- 1:13a Saturday and ends on a Friday.
- 1:16Yes.
- 1:17So today is Monday, May 11th, 2026.

- 1:41But before I do that, I have my
- 1:43hot chocolate here, which is really good.
- 1:47And I've also got my RO water here,
- 1:50also delicious, with a spot of fresh lemon
- 1:54in there, which is really, really good, really
- 1:56a nice trick.
- 1:57So let's kick this show off.
- 2:00Ladies and gentlemen, this is Inspirations for Your
- 2:03Life.
- 2:04And yeah, we're going to be talking about
- 2:07control reassembly and how this begins.
- 2:10I think that's an important thing for a
- 2:12lot of people to realize, you know, how
- 2:16does that begin?
- 2:17How does that work?
- 2:19And it can be daunting for, you know,
- 2:22a lot of people, I'll just be honest
- 2:24with you.
- 2:25So like I said, everyone, welcome to Inspirations
- 2:28for Your Life.
- 2:30Who am I?
- 2:30I'm John C.
- 2:31Morley.
- 2:32I'm a serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video
- 2:34producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student,
- 2:39a passionate lifelong learner, and now a graduate
- 2:42student and a published author.
- 2:44So thank you, everyone.
- 2:46Today we are focusing on a critical stage
- 2:48in human performance, the moment when scattered attention
- 2:52begins to come back together into, well, a
- 2:55structured focus.
- 2:56This is not about motivation, guys.
- 2:58It's not about discipline, okay?
- 3:00It is about reassembly.
- 3:03The process we're thinking, the execution and decision
- 3:06-making begin to reorganize after the fragmentation.
- 3:10Now when attention becomes too divided for too
- 3:12long, performance does not fail all at once.
- 3:16It starts to break in layers.
- 3:19And today I'm going to look at the
- 3:20first stage of rebuilding that whole structure.
- 3:23I think this is really a very, very
- 3:26big key thing, all right?
- 3:28So control reassembly.
- 3:31Number one, attention isolation techniques begin forming.
- 3:38And you know, you don't realize what you're
- 3:40doing, but you're actually blocking yourself from success.
- 3:44You're blocking yourself from success, unfortunately, all right?
- 3:47That's important to know.
- 3:49And you develop this pattern and you keep
- 3:51doing things over and over again, and you
- 3:53think that you're actually getting better, but really
- 3:55what you're doing is you're getting worse.
- 3:57Yeah, not good.
- 3:58Number two, guys, task grouping starts reducing fragmentation.
- 4:05So when you group things together, you reduce
- 4:08the fragmentation, okay?
- 4:10Kind of like organize things better, more efficient.
- 4:13Number three, input filtering begins to improve clarity.
- 4:17You know, we've got so many signals coming
- 4:20at us a day, and we don't respond
- 4:23to every one of them.
- 4:24We couldn't.
- 4:26But these signals are affecting our nervous system,
- 4:30our brain, our body.
- 4:32I think that's an important thing to understand.
- 4:35Number four, guys, decision pacing increases accuracy under
- 4:40reduced pressure, under reduced pressure.
- 4:46And I can't believe all the things that
- 4:55are happening, but I can't believe
- 5:04people are, you know, sometimes stuck.
- 5:18I think sometimes people just don't understand, okay?
- 5:30And I think that's hard for a lot
- 5:32of people.
- 5:35Number five, work boundaries begin reappearing naturally.
- 5:44Focus windows begin stabilizing during the day.
- 5:50I think these are important things to understand.
- 6:00It's important to understand, guys, really important to
- 6:05understand.
- 6:05And I think the more that we can
- 6:10have a moment that we can be stabilized
- 6:16during a day, I think that changes who
- 6:24we are, changes our outcome.
- 6:28Number seven, guys, execution blocks begin forming.
- 6:35Structured work cycles happen.
- 6:38When we get structured work cycles, we get
- 6:41success.
- 6:44We get success.
- 6:51I think that's important to know.
- 7:00I think that's important to know.
- 7:06I think sometimes people don't get it.
- 7:15And I think the cycles, we go into
- 7:19wrong cycles.
- 7:20And these cycles cause us to just spiral
- 7:24down.
- 7:25You ever kicked your foot maybe in the
- 7:28morning or something and, you know, you do
- 7:30that and then maybe you, let's say, follow
- 7:33it by a whole bunch of adjectives or
- 7:35words that are not really polite words and
- 7:40your morning starts to go downhill and everything
- 7:45during that day just goes down and down
- 7:49and down and down until you realize that
- 7:57your focus is taking you down.
- 7:59Have you ever broke a glass?
- 8:01I've done that before, right?
- 8:01So, like, I broke the glass.
- 8:02Okay, great.
- 8:03I'm going to clean the glass up.
- 8:04I'm going to put the glass away and
- 8:05I'm fine.
- 8:06And the rest of my day is going
- 8:07to be great because, you see, when you
- 8:09don't do that, you know, you could have
- 8:13spilled something.
- 8:14I know this happens sometimes.
- 8:16I'm visiting my parents and they spill something.
- 8:18I say, you know, nobody died.
- 8:19Everybody's fine.
- 8:20You just broke a glass.
- 8:21You just spilled some soda.
- 8:22You just spilled some wine, some beer.
- 8:24You just spilled the drink, right?
- 8:26You just knocked over the food.
- 8:28It's no big deal.
- 8:30No big deal.
- 8:33Number eight, guys, priority stacking becomes more organized,
- 8:42becomes more organized.
- 8:47Number nine, information intake begins limiting unnecessary overload,
- 8:56unnecessary overload.
- 9:00So, we have to limit the intake so
- 9:02that we can deal with what we're processing.
- 9:05Otherwise, it becomes like that cup that I
- 9:08was telling you the other night.
- 9:09You pour some water or liquid and then
- 9:10you pour a little more.
- 9:11And before you know it, it goes over.
- 9:12Every time you've gone to one of the
- 9:13restaurants, you know, they have those fountains and
- 9:15they have the wrong, the wrong size was
- 9:17hit.
- 9:18Like, they used to have small, medium, and
- 9:19large.
- 9:19And if you hit the wrong size, well,
- 9:21there was no way to stop it, unfortunately.
- 9:23Now, you just kind of go until, you
- 9:25know, you want to stop.
- 9:26And then you should pull in and it
- 9:28usually stops within a second.
- 9:30Number 10, guys, context switching begins reducing gradually,
- 9:35gradually.
- 9:38And when we can do that, that means
- 9:40we're present in the moment.
- 9:44Mental load begins decreasing through structure, through structure.
- 9:51The more structured we become, the less energy
- 9:56that we actually burn out, the less energy
- 10:01we burn out.
- 10:06The mental load can take a toll on
- 10:08you.
- 10:10So, and it decreases when we get the
- 10:16right structure.
- 10:18Number 12, guys, workflow segmentation begins improving clarity,
- 10:25begins improving clarity.
- 10:34Number 13, task ownership becomes more clearly defined.
- 10:44Attention discipline begins forming internally.
- 10:52And I think that's something that we don't
- 10:55all realize.
- 10:57External interruption resistance begins improving day by day.
- 11:05Output focus begins returning consistently every single day.
- 11:12Output focus begins returning consistently.
- 11:17Number 17, planning structure begins reestablishing itself.
- 11:28Cognitive clarity begins increasing through reduction, through reduction.
- 11:38And I think sometimes we're afraid to stop
- 11:43doing things.
- 11:47But we have to focus on the things
- 11:50that are going to matter in our life.
- 11:55Things that are going to give us more
- 11:58joy in our life.
- 12:04When thinking about joy, I'm not going to
- 12:08mention the person's name directly here on the
- 12:10show.
- 12:11But somebody I got a chance to know,
- 12:15not personally, but I got a chance to
- 12:17know.
- 12:20And I was on LinkedIn just before the
- 12:23show.
- 12:26And this guy, a lot younger than me,
- 12:31he took his life.
- 12:39Last night, 2 a.m. He was crying
- 12:43in a bar.
- 12:52And I'm sad about that.
- 12:55I'm almost tearing.
- 12:58I think his parents actually wrote the thing.
- 13:05I'm going to mention his first name.
- 13:06I'm not going to mention his last name.
- 13:08But I'm also going to probably link the
- 13:09video to the thing.
- 13:13And Connor, I want to let you know
- 13:16that I don't know you very well.
- 13:19But I really believed in your mission.
- 13:23And, you know, being an entrepreneur is not
- 13:25easy.
- 13:26Okay?
- 13:27It's challenging.
- 13:30I'm crying because, you know, one of the
- 13:35things that I wanted to do was, I
- 13:38wanted to meet you someday.
- 13:39And I wanted to hire you.
- 13:44Working on growing a group that I have.
- 13:46And I said, this would be great.
- 13:47You know, the things you do.
- 13:50So he's in this bar.
- 13:53He's saying he was homeless and nobody hired
- 13:58him.
- 14:01He puts amazing content out there.
- 14:03He had some of the best, I should
- 14:06say, he grew his Instagram page up so
- 14:09much.
- 14:10I'm tearing for you, Connor.
- 14:13In the discretion of his family, they can't
- 14:23post exactly what happened.
- 14:31They talked about a ray of hope he
- 14:33was.
- 14:38And they put down here, he did everything
- 14:41he did solo.
- 14:44He was left homeless.
- 14:47But he posted like everything was just going
- 14:50well.
- 14:52Every room he went into, he lit up.
- 14:53I really wanted to meet this gentleman.
- 14:56He was full of joy.
- 14:57He loved his page.
- 15:03And Connor, I'm actually tearing right now.
- 15:10I'm tearing.
- 15:16I had heard that you had a trip
- 15:17you were going on, you were doing.
- 15:19And I thought the trip was something that
- 15:22you were running.
- 15:23I thought it was something profitable for you.
- 15:25And I was actually happy for you.
- 15:30I was happy for you.
- 15:37And I can't say very much.
- 15:44And it was just kind of going off
- 15:45the rail of the show.
- 15:46I didn't plan this.
- 15:47This literally happened a few seconds before it
- 15:49was going on the air.
- 15:50And I said, I can't just ignore this.
- 15:52I have to talk about this.
- 15:56His parents actually posted it on his LinkedIn
- 15:58profile.
- 15:59And I don't know if they posted on
- 16:01his other profile.
- 16:02I don't know if I go to his
- 16:03Instagram.
- 16:06I'm looking right now.
- 16:11And I'm just looking to see if here
- 16:16it is.
- 16:18Two hours ago, the family posted.
- 16:23Looking at his eyes, we love our ray
- 16:29of sunshine.
- 16:31Last night at 2 something a.m., they
- 16:44posted here some more things.
- 16:47They said he lost his life at 34
- 16:49years last night following a horrendous time of
- 16:53online bullying.
- 16:55Emma's last seen at 2 a.m. crying
- 16:57at a bar.
- 17:01Again, this is a question of his family.
- 17:03They're not going to post what happened.
- 17:09And then they just put down here if
- 17:11you or someone you know is struggling with
- 17:17suicidal thoughts, reach out to a mental health
- 17:20professional or a support network and show kindness
- 17:24instead of hate.
- 17:28The person who encouraged him or supported network
- 17:33is showing kindness instead of the person who
- 17:34encouraged him to end it.
- 17:41Connor, I'm so sorry.
- 17:45They didn't tell how it happened, but he
- 17:48killed himself.
- 17:54You know, I don't get very emotional guys
- 17:56on the shows.
- 17:57I really don't.
- 18:01It's as if you or someone you know
- 18:03is struggling with suicidal thoughts.
- 18:05Reaching out to a mental health professional or
- 18:07a support network is showing kindness instead of
- 18:10this person who encouraged him to end it
- 18:17and end it.
- 18:23There's a person on TikTok.
- 18:33And I'm just looking at it right now
- 18:36for this person.
- 18:40But this one person, I'm looking here.
- 18:49He didn't even have that many followers, the
- 18:52other guy.
- 18:55But this guy on Instagram, I mean, what
- 19:00he did, I mean, was amazing.
- 19:0789,000.1 followers.
- 19:12And he was only following 2,746.
- 19:16There was a picture posted here, his first
- 19:19trip, everything to see.
- 19:21It was him and a few other people.
- 19:27And it looked like he was just having
- 19:30a great time.
- 19:36Connor, I didn't have the chance to know
- 19:38you personally.
- 19:40I didn't.
- 19:46But I wish that I would have had
- 19:53the chance to talk to you.
- 19:54I wanted to talk to you, but I
- 19:59knew, you know, having 90 some thousand followers
- 20:01or whatever, like you're probably never going to
- 20:04talk to me.
- 20:10But I wanted to talk to you.
- 20:16I sent you a, I think, a message
- 20:23or something that I wanted to talk to
- 20:25you.
- 20:28I think I even gave you, I'm trying
- 20:30to remember, I think I even gave you
- 20:32my scheduling link.
- 20:34I think I did.
- 20:39And I, I just don't know what to
- 20:44say.
- 20:50I don't know what to say.
- 20:56He had a very, very good heart.
- 21:03So I, what I would have said, Connor,
- 21:11I would have said to you, I'm here.
- 21:14I never knew what you were going through.
- 21:18I had no idea, but I, I wanted
- 21:24to just be your friend, to get to
- 21:28know you and tell you, I thought what
- 21:29you were doing was amazing.
- 21:35And to tell you that I wanted to
- 21:38know what, you would charge me to do
- 21:40some things for me, but you were busy
- 21:44and I never heard from you.
- 21:49And I feel really bad tonight.
- 21:55I am in so many tears right now.
- 22:00Okay.
- 22:02So many tears.
- 22:05And I'm looking at his, I'm looking at
- 22:07the post.
- 22:08Okay.
- 22:09I'm looking at the post and the post
- 22:15is got six things on it.
- 22:33I know I want to write something back
- 22:35after the show, but I also want to
- 22:37let them know, Connor, that I'm dedicating tonight's
- 22:41show to you and to your family.
- 22:43I know I can't bring you back.
- 22:46I know that.
- 22:51It's important ladies, gentlemen, that we choose kindness.
- 22:59Sometimes I know this is going way off
- 23:01the topic of the show.
- 23:06Sometimes it's easy to choose hate or to
- 23:08choose something else because we see that's what
- 23:11other people are doing.
- 23:12But when we choose kindness, it's so much
- 23:19better for ourselves.
- 23:20And it's so much better for everybody else.
- 23:24And this hits home.
- 23:26And I'll tell you why this also hits
- 23:27home.
- 23:29Connor, when I was in, well, undergrad school,
- 23:34college, back in college again, my grad studies,
- 23:38there was somebody that I was kind of
- 23:43trying to befriend, nice person who was in
- 23:45my class.
- 23:45I think I was, I forget what year
- 23:47I was, but anyway, he came there.
- 23:51I'll tell you his first name.
- 23:52His first name was Craig.
- 23:55And he was just absolutely amazing.
- 24:03He was great, but there was something about
- 24:08him I didn't know.
- 24:11And one night I was at the Hartford
- 24:15Counseling Lines and I was a peer facilitator.
- 24:19I forget what night it was.
- 24:21It was Friday or Saturday night.
- 24:22Got a call.
- 24:22And when I got that call, I said,
- 24:28thank you for calling such as a counseling
- 24:30line.
- 24:30This is John speaking.
- 24:33Can I ask your first name?
- 24:37And he came on the phone and first
- 24:40thing I heard his voice and I was
- 24:41like, oh my gosh, this is Craig.
- 24:45So I didn't know why I was calling.
- 24:47I just was listening.
- 24:49And he says, John, I said, yeah.
- 24:52And I'm like, Craig, he's like, I said,
- 24:56are you okay talking to me or do
- 24:59you want me to get you somebody else?
- 25:03Why would you get me somebody else?
- 25:06I didn't know if he wanted to talk
- 25:07to me.
- 25:08I mean, we're kind of friends.
- 25:11I guess better to talk to you than
- 25:13a stranger, right?
- 25:15I said, yeah.
- 25:18So he was telling me how he wanted
- 25:20to take his life and got him to
- 25:28enjoy his life a little bit.
- 25:29I was talking to him on the phone
- 25:30for a while, but then in school, I'd
- 25:35see him around and he'd tell me something
- 25:40like he was gonna slit his wrist or
- 25:41something.
- 25:41And I was just like, and I'd pop
- 25:45by to say hello to him.
- 25:46And I haven't heard from him in a
- 25:47while.
- 25:47I'd pop by, hey, Craig, how you doing?
- 25:48Let's go grab someone.
- 25:50And I wanted to seriously be his friend,
- 25:53not for, I mean, this was even before
- 25:55that.
- 25:56And so normally at college, you're not allowed
- 25:59to befriend somebody that calls the line, but
- 26:03I asked my supervisor and I said to
- 26:06him, I already knew him before he called.
- 26:09And I said, that's okay.
- 26:14And I said, well, now I have an
- 26:15obligation because I don't know what he's doing.
- 26:20But real quick, I'm gonna tell you the
- 26:21story.
- 26:23Stories, I was invited up to his home
- 26:27from one weekend and there was a problem
- 26:30with the cell phones or whatever.
- 26:31And I couldn't get him.
- 26:33There's bad service coming back from Connecticut to
- 26:35New Jersey.
- 26:36And he lived one stop after Newark.
- 26:39He lived the next stop.
- 26:39I think it was Menlo Park where it
- 26:40was.
- 26:41And I got there, but I got there
- 26:44late.
- 26:44I couldn't call him.
- 26:47When I got to the train station, he
- 26:50wasn't there.
- 26:51I couldn't get him on the phone, just
- 26:53his voicemail.
- 26:55I waited there for several hours.
- 26:56I didn't know his parents' phone number or
- 26:59anything.
- 26:59I just knew there were two dentists in
- 27:00town.
- 27:01I didn't know.
- 27:03They came and picked me up.
- 27:05Long story short, I said, how are you
- 27:08doing?
- 27:08And they said, fine.
- 27:09And I said, what's quick?
- 27:11Oh, he's home.
- 27:13Oh, okay, okay.
- 27:15Why didn't you call him?
- 27:16I said, well, my phone went bad and
- 27:21I left him a message and I couldn't
- 27:23get through.
- 27:24Oh my gosh.
- 27:28So I get to his house.
- 27:31And long story short, they make me dinner
- 27:35and apple pie and all that.
- 27:36I go to his room and I see
- 27:37this letter on the dresser.
- 27:41And it basically says, if you didn't even
- 27:45want me, why should I be here?
- 27:50And it was very sad.
- 27:54So Connor, I dedicate this show to you
- 27:57tonight and also to all the people out
- 28:00there that are contemplating, should they leave this
- 28:04world?
- 28:06And my answer to you is, no, you
- 28:08should stay in this world.
- 28:10There's a lot of people in this world
- 28:12that love you.
- 28:13Yeah, there might be some people in this
- 28:14world that don't like you very much, but
- 28:16there's a lot of people that like you
- 28:18and there's a lot of good in this
- 28:19world.
- 28:21And I'm so sorry, Connor.
- 28:25I wish I would have been able to
- 28:27befriend you, to talk to you.
- 28:29I would have told you how important you
- 28:31are.
- 28:37I pray that tonight you're in no pain
- 28:42and that the Lord's taken you and that
- 28:44you're up in heaven.
- 28:46I pray that.
- 28:49And I pray for the parents that they're
- 28:55able to get some peace soon.
- 29:01Get some peace soon.
- 29:04So I'll say, God bless you.
- 29:06I know the show went off track and
- 29:07I'm sorry about that, but this was a
