- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, howdy ho. There we go.
- 0:01Speaker 2: 307.
- 0:01Speaker 1: What a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon we have here. It's June 16th,
- 0:06Speaker 1: already the middle of June. Can you believe how summer
- 0:08Speaker 1: is flying by? So we are sitting with 76 degrees.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's pleasant weather. I mean, low humidity, nice breeze. Just
- 0:16Speaker 1: an ideal day out there. Wherever you are, whatever you
- 0:19Speaker 1: might be doing, hope you're enjoying it. We'll proceed on
- 0:22Speaker 1: here this afternoon as always.
- 0:23Speaker 3: 330-729-9977.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We'll get you in touch with us. You're on air.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Iran.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Good afternoon, sir.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Good afternoon, Richard.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Yesterday was all about Iran, and I'd like to do
- 0:38Speaker 5: a little bit of a pivot today if we could
- 0:40Speaker 5: talk about something a little different. Now that this, if
- 0:45Speaker 5: this is successful, and it looks, you know, if this
- 0:48Speaker 5: ceasefire holds, I think it's going to, alleviate some of
- 0:53Speaker 5: the concern we had going into November, because you're going
- 0:56Speaker 5: to see gas come down, inflation come down, what have you.
- 0:59Speaker 5: And the American public in general has a very short memory. Generally,
- 1:08Speaker 5: what happened in April, May, June will probably soon be
- 1:11Speaker 5: forgotten if everything's way better in September, October, and November.
- 1:17Speaker 5: That said, there's still some things that the Republicans are
- 1:21Speaker 5: doing that trouble me. And the one that I had
- 1:25Speaker 5: sent you a couple articles on it, the thing that
- 1:27Speaker 5: they need to address is some of this H-1B visa stuff.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Explain what that is to our listeners.
- 1:34Speaker 5: An H-1B visa is a special sort of pass that
- 1:39Speaker 5: the government gives you to immigrate to the United States.
- 1:43Speaker 5: if you are in a field that is in demand.
- 1:47Speaker 5: And typically that's healthcare and STEM right now. But you
- 1:50Speaker 5: can also see it in certain computer science, things like that.
- 1:54Speaker 5: So basically you're allowed in. You sort of bypass the
- 1:57Speaker 5: normal immigration process, and we give you a visa that
- 2:00Speaker 5: allows you to come work in the United States. The
- 2:03Speaker 5: theory is because we are short in those areas. maybe
- 2:09Speaker 5: computer engineering, all types of engineering, actually. I mean, the
- 2:14Speaker 5: number of engineering graduates for the last five years has really,
- 2:17Speaker 5: really gone down, which is alarming, and I don't know
- 2:19Speaker 5: how we rectify that, but that's a whole other topic.
- 2:23Speaker 5: But it allows these people to come in, nurses, pharmacists, doctors, engineers,
- 2:27Speaker 5: people like that. Typically, it can be others, but the
- 2:31Speaker 5: Trump administration was supposed to put And businesses like this,
- 2:35Speaker 5: and typically they like it because most of these people
- 2:37Speaker 5: that come here then work for a lot less than
- 2:40Speaker 5: an American worker in an equivalent position with an equivalent degree.
- 2:46Speaker 5: One of the biggest issues, most of these people, a
- 2:49Speaker 5: lot of these people, a good chunk of them are
- 2:50Speaker 5: coming from India. India's biggest export to the United States
- 2:55Speaker 5: is probably human capital, to be perfectly honest with you.
- 2:59Speaker 5: And I wouldn't have a problem with that if... it
- 3:02Speaker 5: was being done on a level playing field. But I
- 3:05Speaker 5: don't know if you remember, this was probably at least
- 3:06Speaker 5: 10 years ago, there was a 60 Minutes article where
- 3:09Speaker 5: Disney used these H-1B visas to replace an entire department.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Their whole, I think it was their computer animation, or
- 3:17Speaker 5: not animation, but the people that ran Walt Disney World,
- 3:20Speaker 5: the parks that ran all the computers and infrastructure behind that.
- 3:26Speaker 5: They hired all these engineers from India on H-1B visas,
- 3:29Speaker 5: brought them over... told the Americans they had to train
- 3:32Speaker 5: them and then they were going to be terminated at
- 3:34Speaker 5: the end of the training period. And if you left
- 3:38Speaker 5: before you trained them, then you didn't get any of
- 3:40Speaker 5: your severance package. That was a 60 Minutes article, like
- 3:43Speaker 5: I said, probably about 10 years ago. And that was
- 3:46Speaker 5: sort of the first time I had ever heard of it.
- 3:48Speaker 6: But now.
- 3:50Speaker 5: It's becoming problematic. And it's flying under the radar for
- 3:54Speaker 5: most people because obviously this doesn't affect you. If you're
- 3:57Speaker 5: not in that field, you're not really affected by it.
- 4:01Speaker 5: But who it's really starting to affect are young graduates
- 4:03Speaker 5: with STEM degrees. My daughter sent me one. Two of
- 4:08Speaker 5: my three kids are engineers, and they see it all
- 4:10Speaker 5: the time, where these companies are trying to hire, instead
- 4:13Speaker 5: of hiring Americans, they're going over and trying to get
- 4:16Speaker 5: these people from foreign countries to come in because they
- 4:21Speaker 5: work for a lot less money. And it's getting to
- 4:23Speaker 5: the point now where a lot of these departments are
- 4:27Speaker 5: more foreign than they are American for a lot of
- 4:29Speaker 5: these companies. So what you're doing then is turning a
- 4:33Speaker 5: young demographic that overwhelmingly voted for Trump, you know, pushed
- 4:37Speaker 5: him over the edge probably in the last election in 24.
- 4:41Speaker 5: And I know a lot of young kids that will
- 4:43Speaker 5: not vote for the Republicans in general. Vivek Ramaswamy, they're
- 4:50Speaker 5: very worried about him because he's Indian and he said
- 4:52Speaker 5: we need to embrace India and, you know, we're going
- 4:55Speaker 5: to need these Indian workers. Sort of what you're seeing
- 4:58Speaker 5: on the general non-H-1B visa with what you saw down
- 5:02Speaker 5: in Springfield with the Haitians and what you're seeing down
- 5:04Speaker 5: in Columbus with the Somalis coming in. Those are political refugees,
- 5:08Speaker 5: but these companies will then say, oh, we need them.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Without them, we can't run our company without these workers,
- 5:14Speaker 5: which is a bunch of hogwash. I think the labor
- 5:19Speaker 5: market is somewhat tight, but if you've got a competitive
- 5:21Speaker 5: pay and benefit package, I don't think you're going to
- 5:24Speaker 5: find employees. But I can tell you right now, there's
- 5:28Speaker 5: a lot of young people I know that are turned
- 5:31Speaker 5: off and either won't vote or will vote Democrat instead
- 5:35Speaker 5: of voting Republican this coming fall.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but if they vote Democrat, they're going to vote
- 5:40Speaker 1: for the lunacy. I mean, sometimes it is the lesser
- 5:44Speaker 1: of two evils that you have to look at. I mean,
- 5:47Speaker 1: sometimes there isn't always a great choice. And I would
- 5:50Speaker 1: say that was probably, and I don't know about you,
- 5:52Speaker 1: most of my life. I didn't enthusiastically vote for anybody.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I looked at this one seems better than that one.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And that was the selection, with the exception of Trump.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I enthusiastically voted for Trump. So there are exceptions to that.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But I mean, so you'd say, OK, I disagree with
- 6:08Speaker 1: Ramaswamy on this. these visas. And let me put it
- 6:11Speaker 1: this way. When you were talking and you were saying, well,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we've got a shortage of this, a shortage of that. Well,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we've got a lot of shortages supposedly in the labor sector.
- 6:19Speaker 1: We've got a lot of shortages of people that need
- 6:21Speaker 1: roofing crews. We've got shortages of painters. We've got shortages
- 6:26Speaker 1: of a lot of people that do manual labor type work.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So should we say, well, they don't get a special
- 6:34Speaker 1: visa only if you've got this certain degree, only if
- 6:39Speaker 1: you've got The smarts for this degree. And incidentally, was
- 6:44Speaker 1: it not you that sent me an article the other day,
- 6:48Speaker 1: which I've always suspected. How do you know that the
- 6:51Speaker 1: degrees are legit that are coming over here from those countries?
- 6:55Speaker 5: They're not. That was an article. I think it was, what,
- 6:58Speaker 5: 30,000 or 35,000 fake degrees were sold by a diploma mill.
- 7:01Speaker 6: Over in India.
- 7:03Speaker 5: But that's the other issue. You get a lot of
- 7:04Speaker 5: these people in, and when American-trained workers have to start
- 7:08Speaker 5: working with them, they find out these people are incompetent
- 7:10Speaker 5: because they don't know what the heck they're doing. Right.
- 7:13Speaker 1: In other words, people assume that they have the same education,
- 7:19Speaker 1: the same standards as you would have here in America.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But they do not. And in some cases, this is
- 7:25Speaker 1: just all phoniness. It's all... it's a fraud. They don't
- 7:30Speaker 1: even have the background.
- 7:32Speaker 5: You can't buy a degree in our country either. It
- 7:36Speaker 5: may be in very rare cases, but you can't go
- 7:38Speaker 5: to YSU or Ohio State and pay somebody to print
- 7:41Speaker 5: you out a degree and put your name on a
- 7:43Speaker 5: list that says you graduated and got a degree in
- 7:46Speaker 5: mechanical engineering or what have you, you know, medicine, pharmacy.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I mean, do you understand? I mean, I'm always concerned
- 7:53Speaker 1: when it's like, well, look at all these people are
- 7:56Speaker 1: here from other countries. Do they have the same standards
- 7:59Speaker 1: as we do with their education? Now, and I'm sure
- 8:03Speaker 1: there are tests that they have to pass to get here.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Once they get here, I would assume, would you not,
- 8:08Speaker 1: to go in?
- 8:09Speaker 5: No, but there are, like, the one thing that surprised
- 8:11Speaker 5: me with engineering, once you graduate, you don't take a test.
- 8:14Speaker 5: It's not a profession, so to speak, the way the
- 8:18Speaker 5: medical professions are where you're board certified. And you have a,
- 8:24Speaker 5: I think your daughter's an engineer, isn't she?
- 8:25Speaker 7: Yes.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Yeah, so they don't have to take state board testing to,
- 8:31Speaker 5: you know, certify that they know what they know. They
- 8:34Speaker 5: just graduate with that degree. I'm not sure if teachers
- 8:38Speaker 5: do either, to be honest with you. They've got a
- 8:40Speaker 5: lot of requirements. I'm not sure if they have to
- 8:42Speaker 5: take an exam that says they're qualified to be a teacher.
- 8:44Speaker 5: There are certain professions that don't. Most of your, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 5: professions where you've got lives and things like that at stake,
- 8:54Speaker 5: are required to do that, every medical profession.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm not so sure. Well, nursing, you've got to take
- 9:00Speaker 1: your boards for nursing, right?
- 9:03Speaker 5: All the medical fields. I don't know one that you can't.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Even cosmetology and things like that, where you're dealing with
- 9:07Speaker 5: people's health and well-being, you have to have boards.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But what was that story where they were just giving
- 9:13Speaker 1: them degrees, basically? They were buying degrees, right?
- 9:17Speaker 5: Yeah, they were just paying money and buying degrees. And
- 9:19Speaker 5: apparently that is a big thing in India. that it's very,
- 9:23Speaker 5: you know, if you've got the money and the connections,
- 9:26Speaker 5: it's very easy to go out and buy a phony degree.
- 9:28Speaker 5: So that's not saying that everybody that comes here from
- 9:31Speaker 5: India has that, you know, obviously, I mean, there's the
- 9:34Speaker 5: doctors and the medical professionals are coming over here, still
- 9:37Speaker 5: have to pass boards in this country. So we have
- 9:38Speaker 5: to know something. Um, so, and a lot of those
- 9:41Speaker 5: people probably have real degrees, but you know, 30, 35,000
- 9:44Speaker 5: fake degrees is concerning. Um, So these are issues that,
- 9:52Speaker 5: you know, hopefully this little foreign escapade that we've had
- 9:55Speaker 5: for the last four months is winding down and we
- 9:58Speaker 5: can start to address issues. that need to be addressed
- 10:00Speaker 5: in this country again.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but I go back to say this. I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I understand what you're saying about these visas and I
- 10:07Speaker 1: get it. But so would you say, well, they either
- 10:11Speaker 1: won't vote, which is a mistake, or they'll vote for
- 10:13Speaker 1: the Democrats to go what? Vote for the crazy agenda
- 10:17Speaker 1: that the Democrats stand for? I mean, I don't know,
- 10:20Speaker 1: where do the Democrats stand on these visas? Are they
- 10:22Speaker 1: opposed to them? It seems like the Democrats stand for
- 10:25Speaker 1: open borders and letting everybody in.
- 10:27Speaker 5: I can't imagine the Democrats would be opposed to them.
- 10:30Speaker 5: The more the merrier. Hopefully that's a fresh new voter
- 10:33Speaker 5: that they can wrangle, and that's where the Democrats stand.
- 10:36Speaker 1: No, but I'm saying that's a foolish vote. I'm going
- 10:38Speaker 1: to vote for the Democrats. Well, they don't believe in
- 10:40Speaker 1: a secure border in anything. They've got this crazy agenda
- 10:43Speaker 1: of theirs. So you're voting for something worse than... I mean,
- 10:47Speaker 1: it's the lesser two evils as opposed to Ramaswami. I mean,
- 10:53Speaker 1: that's how I would view it.
- 10:53Speaker 5: A lot of people look at it, though, as if
- 10:55Speaker 5: it's a protest vote. And is it really going to
- 10:59Speaker 5: make much of a difference who you vote for? Does
- 11:01Speaker 5: it really change? Like, what disturbed me just now listening
- 11:04Speaker 5: to the news before you came on. was you have
- 11:07Speaker 5: DeWine saying that he believes the death penalty should be abolished.
- 11:10Speaker 5: And he's entitled to that opinion. I'm not a big
- 11:13Speaker 5: fan of the death penalty, personally. But that said, it
- 11:16Speaker 5: would not surprise me, before he leaves office, that he
- 11:21Speaker 5: goes out and commutes all the sentences of those on
- 11:23Speaker 5: death row to life in prison without possibility of parole.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Because I could just see DeWine, that would be his
- 11:29Speaker 5: last parting shot as the little rhino Republican that he is,
- 11:33Speaker 5: to basically, you know, stoop your MAGA Republicans and the
- 11:39Speaker 5: people that believe in law and order and things like
- 11:43Speaker 5: that in the foot. Because he's been nothing but an
- 11:46Speaker 5: obstructionist in the Republican Party the.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Last four years. He was talking about that and saying, well,
- 11:51Speaker 1: maybe the people of Ohio should get a vote on it.
- 11:54Speaker 8: And..
- 11:56Speaker 5: I wouldn't object to that. I mean, I wouldn't object
- 11:58Speaker 5: to that, but I'm just telling you, you mark my word,
- 12:01Speaker 5: before he leaves office, if he doesn't commute all of them,
- 12:04Speaker 5: he will commute a significant number of the death row sentences.
- 12:08Speaker 5: That's my prediction.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I hope you're wrong on that.
- 12:14Speaker 5: He's Catholic, and I mean, I was raised Catholic, and
- 12:17Speaker 5: the death penalty is realistically against..
- 12:21Speaker 6: Your religion.
- 12:22Speaker 5: If you're Catholic, you don't believe in killing anybody for
- 12:24Speaker 5: any reason ever. But I could easily see him. It
- 12:29Speaker 5: would fit right into the DeWine modus operandi, the way
- 12:33Speaker 5: he operates. And remember, whatever the date is today, I
- 12:39Speaker 5: can't remember, but it would not surprise me to see
- 12:41Speaker 5: him do something like that. Not at all.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Well, I'll be glad to see when it's his time
- 12:46Speaker 1: to go. I'll be glad to see him go. If you...
- 12:50Speaker 1: Get Amy Acton as governor in Ohio. Good luck.
- 12:56Speaker 5: In that respect, is she really going to be any
- 12:59Speaker 5: worse than DeWine has been? I mean, look at all
- 13:00Speaker 5: the stuff that Dave Thomas passed last year that he
- 13:03Speaker 5: then line item vetoed. You know, we'd have better property
- 13:08Speaker 5: tax reform if DeWine wasn't in there. Although I'm sure
- 13:11Speaker 5: a Democrat would have line item vetoed it, too. But,
- 13:13Speaker 5: I mean, he's really no better. And that's the argument. Like,
- 13:16Speaker 5: when I talk to my kids about it, that's the
- 13:19Speaker 5: argument they make. They're like, is there really a difference?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Well, I think they'll find out that there's a big
- 13:23Speaker 1: difference if Amy Acton wins as far as the taxes
- 13:27Speaker 1: and all the nonsense that you see in a lot
- 13:30Speaker 1: of progressive states. And then you want to see that
- 13:33Speaker 1: in Ohio? I think there'll be a huge difference and
- 13:36Speaker 1: a regret that they've even went down that road. All right, Ricardo.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Thank you. Appreciate it. Rich, the pharmacist, starting things off.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You're on air.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Wow. That was a bundle of information.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Well, it's true. DeWine did say that today. I got
- 13:54Speaker 1: the story right in front of me. Death penalty announcement
- 13:57Speaker 1: from Governor Mike DeWine today could affect nine inmates on
- 14:00Speaker 1: Ohio's death row who were convicted of capital crimes in
- 14:03Speaker 1: the Mahoning Valley.
- 14:05Speaker 6: I was talking about that, the information about these Immigrants
- 14:09Speaker 6: coming in here saying they've got degrees in engineering. That's
- 14:12Speaker 6: what I'm saying. Wow.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I just was reading the article the other day where
- 14:17Speaker 1: they say there's a bunch of this. It was somewhere
- 14:21Speaker 1: in India or something that they just had. They didn't
- 14:24Speaker 1: really actually have the degree. It was all phony.
- 14:30Speaker 6: What a way to make a buck. But that's not
- 14:32Speaker 6: why I called.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Here it is. Wait a second. India's academic sector has
- 14:39Speaker 1: been shocked. Stand by for one second. Let me come
- 14:41Speaker 1: right back to you. I'll get right back to you
- 14:43Speaker 1: and take more of your calls. 322 on a gorgeous
- 14:46Speaker 1: looking Tuesday afternoon. Ron Furb from the Kingdom of Mahoning.
- 14:51Speaker 1: 570 WKBN. Here's a new story. It says Indian University
- 14:56Speaker 1: caught selling 36,000 fake degrees as graduates working. So they
- 15:02Speaker 1: sold all these degrees. And It's ridiculous.
- 15:09Speaker 6: What scares me is now when I go in to
- 15:11Speaker 6: see a doctor or a nurse, and they're from India,
- 15:15Speaker 6: do they really have the education to do it, to
- 15:19Speaker 6: do the job?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Well, I think they have to take some type of
- 15:25Speaker 1: boards to get certified here in this country.
- 15:28Speaker 9: What about nuclear physicists?
- 15:32Speaker 6: The ones that are going to work on the nuclear reactors? Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 6: I mean, it opens up a whole different thing. This
- 15:41Speaker 6: is where my, this is when I start thinking, what if,
- 15:44Speaker 6: what if, what if. But anyhow, I'd like to ask
- 15:47Speaker 6: you to do me a favor.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Oh, yes. You need some money or something? You in trouble?
- 15:52Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 15:52Speaker 10: I'm not in trouble.
- 15:53Speaker 6: I'm worried about money.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I didn't know if you needed a couple of bucks.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Oh, well, that's it. Where am I going to buy
- 16:01Speaker 6: something for a couple of bucks?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just trying to help you out. That's all.
- 16:05Speaker 6: I appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. I've been reading
- 16:08Speaker 6: here for the past month and a half now. Trump
- 16:11Speaker 6: wants to take the post office and have them check
- 16:15Speaker 6: the absentee ballots. Now, we both understand that there are
- 16:19Speaker 6: some areas, California, where it smells rotten fish. Okay. So,
- 16:29Speaker 6: with that in mind... Now the post office is going
- 16:33Speaker 6: to have to take each ballot and figure out whether
- 16:35Speaker 6: that person can actually vote. They've got all they can
- 16:40Speaker 6: do to get the mail out, plus now they've got
- 16:42Speaker 6: to stop it. So these mail-in ballots, each post office
- 16:47Speaker 6: may carry, let's say, a thousand of them, and they
- 16:49Speaker 6: don't have time to check them all out. That's supposed
- 16:52Speaker 6: to be the state's job. So, I mean, he just
- 16:58Speaker 6: wants to corner that up, tie it up, But it
- 17:00Speaker 6: was okay for him to do an absentee ballot. I've
- 17:03Speaker 6: been doing absentee ballots since Reagan, and so has my wife.
- 17:08Speaker 6: And they're going to turn around, and I'm going to
- 17:11Speaker 6: trust the mail to send it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but here's my question. You've been doing an absentee ballot.
- 17:15Speaker 1: How do I know you're not dead?
- 17:19Speaker 6: Oh, I'm AI. I'm sorry. I should have.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Told you that. I mean, you could be dead for
- 17:26Speaker 1: all I know.
- 17:28Speaker 6: I might be. I don't know yet. I just bit
- 17:31Speaker 6: my tongue.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 3: So..
- 17:34Speaker 1: All right, but I said this to you yesterday, and
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'd say it to you again today. We do it
- 17:39Speaker 1: the right way in the state of Ohio. I mean,
- 17:43Speaker 1: it's out of control. I was talking to you yesterday,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and I want to bring that back today. You've been
- 17:48Speaker 1: around long enough like I have. Was it that big
- 17:51Speaker 1: a deal when you went to vote on Election Day?
- 17:54Speaker 1: The polls were open from 6 in the morning. till
- 17:56Speaker 1: seven at night. I mean, was that that big a
- 18:00Speaker 1: deal during that, what, 13-hour period to actually go down
- 18:04Speaker 1: and vote? You could go down really early in the
- 18:06Speaker 1: morning or in the evening to vote. I mean, I
- 18:09Speaker 1: don't understand why all of a sudden we have like
- 18:12Speaker 1: voting month. Like, oh, geez, a lot of my life,
- 18:16Speaker 1: there was election day. The people that got an absentee
- 18:19Speaker 1: ballot were people that were in the military or like
- 18:23Speaker 1: pilots or salesmen or people that weren't going to be around,
- 18:26Speaker 1: truck drivers during Election Day, that they could get an
- 18:29Speaker 1: absentee ballot. Those are the people who had to go
- 18:31Speaker 1: get absentee ballots. But everyone else we expected to show
- 18:34Speaker 1: up on Election Day. Now it's like election month. It's ridiculous.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Stand by. Stand by. Let me do my commercials. I'm
- 18:45Speaker 1: coming right back to him in a minute. Ron Verp,
- 18:47Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 18:49Speaker 7: 256 NewsRadio 570 WKBN. All right, Heidi Ho, 335 in
- 18:56Speaker 7: the afternoon, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. So why is that such
- 18:59Speaker 7: a big deal back in the day when I'm tired
- 19:02Speaker 7: of this election month?
- 19:05Speaker 1: I mean, I just think the whole period of time
- 19:08Speaker 1: for you to go vote is just getting out of
- 19:10Speaker 1: control and way too long.
- 19:12Speaker 6: I kind of disagree with you because, well, they shortened
- 19:16Speaker 6: it in the state of Ohio, you know. They shortened
- 19:19Speaker 6: that time span, which is okay for me because I
- 19:21Speaker 6: can still make it work.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Right, I mean, even if we said it's going to
- 19:26Speaker 1: be four days, as far as one day the polls
- 19:30Speaker 1: are going to be open, but... It just seems like
- 19:32Speaker 1: it's going on for a month and it's getting and
- 19:35Speaker 1: it's getting ridiculous. We do it the right way in Ohio.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You show up at the polls. You got to show
- 19:40Speaker 1: your ID and then you go vote. And whenever I've
- 19:44Speaker 1: gone to the polls whenever I went to vote, I
- 19:47Speaker 1: never really had to wait in line very long. It
- 19:50Speaker 1: seemed like they always had enough people there, and it
- 19:52Speaker 1: moved right along.
- 19:53Speaker 6: Well, you're kind of, you're a unique case in itself,
- 19:57Speaker 6: being unique as you are anyhow.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yes, does that mean special? I'm special?
- 20:02Speaker 6: Well, I don't know about that. Trump thinks he's unique.
- 20:05Speaker 6: I don't think he's special, but anyhow. My wife thinks
- 20:08Speaker 6: I think I'm unique, but my wife don't think so either.
- 20:10Speaker 6: But anyhow, as it goes, there's your privilege in yours,
- 20:17Speaker 6: because you worked in, let's just say, the second trick.
- 20:20Speaker 6: So you had almost all morning to where you could
- 20:24Speaker 6: at least have four hours at 6 o'clock in the morning.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Right, exactly.
- 20:29Speaker 6: But in my case, or what about the young woman
- 20:33Speaker 6: that's got two or three kids, she's got to run
- 20:35Speaker 6: up there. And my wife, when she came home, said,
- 20:39Speaker 6: I had to be up there with them kids for,
- 20:42Speaker 6: you know, 10, 15 minutes and waiting and then have
- 20:46Speaker 6: to watch them at the same time. I mean, our
- 20:49Speaker 6: kids are great. At that time, they were disciplined. But anyhow,
- 20:54Speaker 6: the fact of the matter is, is when she did
- 20:56Speaker 6: her first absentee ballot, she said, I'm going to do
- 21:00Speaker 6: this for the rest of the time. I'm not going
- 21:02Speaker 6: to be getting in line and waiting. Mm-hmm. So, I mean,
- 21:05Speaker 6: that's how that worked. But my question to you is,
- 21:10Speaker 6: if you were willing to do it, take a week,
- 21:16Speaker 6: take your little clipboard there that's off on the right-hand
- 21:18Speaker 6: side of the desk and draw a line on a
- 21:20Speaker 6: clean piece of paper and mark on there who uses
- 21:26Speaker 6: the mail-in ballots and who doesn't when they vote. Just
- 21:34Speaker 6: to see how that would work out.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Well, I'll say again, I don't have a huge problem
- 21:40Speaker 1: with it in the state of Ohio. I mean, I
- 21:43Speaker 1: do think we do it the right way in Ohio.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'm just saying in the states where they mail everybody
- 21:48Speaker 1: a ballot is wrong. I mean, here you have to
- 21:53Speaker 1: request one. You have to actually request it.
- 21:56Speaker 6: I agree with you, because I could be dead. I mean,
- 21:59Speaker 6: I could be AI, like I said, but I'm still
- 22:02Speaker 6: saying it. Right. How many states do that now? Just
- 22:08Speaker 6: mail them out there.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Well, I think Colorado does that. I think California does.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I mean, I would have to research it more. I
- 22:15Speaker 1: know California, Colorado. I'm sure there are others. But I
- 22:19Speaker 1: just think that's wrong. Listen, I want there to be
- 22:22Speaker 1: security in my vote. Like I said, I don't want
- 22:25Speaker 1: to lose confidence in a system. When you're saying to
- 22:28Speaker 1: me we're mailing everybody out of ballots, and then I
- 22:31Speaker 1: don't know if they moved or if they're dead and
- 22:34Speaker 1: who's voting that ballot, it just puts fraud into the system.
- 22:38Speaker 1: And I think that is wrong. That's wrong. What if
- 22:41Speaker 1: you're mailing a ballot to somebody that has dementia in
- 22:44Speaker 1: the nursing home? Who's voting that ballot? it's strange when
- 22:48Speaker 1: you look at that kind of stuff. So you have
- 22:50Speaker 1: to eliminate that. In Ohio, we do it the right way.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I understand being an old person like yourself, you don't
- 22:55Speaker 1: like to leave the house, and you don't want to
- 22:59Speaker 1: go to the polls and vote. I would think that
- 23:01Speaker 1: would be a big day out for you at your age.
- 23:03Speaker 1: You'd be looking forward to it. Like, hey, honey, guess what?
- 23:07Speaker 1: We get to go for a car ride tomorrow and
- 23:08Speaker 1: go vote or something like that. You don't look at
- 23:10Speaker 1: it that way at your age?
- 23:13Speaker 11: No.
- 23:13Speaker 6: I'm so used to doing it, like I said, from
- 23:15Speaker 6: the time... Reagan was in, and that's when I got
- 23:18Speaker 6: hooked on it.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, look at it. Listen, I know
- 23:24Speaker 1: you old people and how you are. Like, big days
- 23:26Speaker 1: for you when I ask old people like you, hey,
- 23:28Speaker 1: what are you doing today? Oh, I got to go
- 23:30Speaker 1: to the dentist. What are you doing tomorrow? I got
- 23:32Speaker 1: to go to the doctor. These are big days for
- 23:34Speaker 1: you old people, people like you. It's like every day
- 23:38Speaker 1: it's like, oh, I got to go to the grocery store.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I got to go to the dentist. I got to
- 23:42Speaker 1: go to the doctor. I have to go pick up
- 23:45Speaker 1: a prescription. That's how you get out of the house.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Isn't that how you old people work?
- 23:50Speaker 6: Oh, I get out of the house when I feel
- 23:52Speaker 6: like getting out of the house.
- 23:53Speaker 12: But I'm not in a big push.
- 23:57Speaker 6: Why should I?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like I said, you only go if you have to, what,
- 24:01Speaker 1: pick up a prescription, go to the doctor, right? Or
- 24:06Speaker 1: go to a hardware store. Or go get groceries. Or
- 24:10Speaker 1: I'd go.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Get groceries or go someplace where I can get two-cycle
- 24:14Speaker 6: oil for my... Right.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Or you say, listen, we can't go now. The Price
- 24:20Speaker 1: is Right is going to be coming on, and I
- 24:22Speaker 1: want to see the showcase today. Well, we can't go
- 24:25Speaker 1: now because the Jeopardy is coming on and the Wheel
- 24:28Speaker 1: of Fortune. We've got to watch that. I know how
- 24:30Speaker 1: you old people operate. I know your days. I know
- 24:33Speaker 1: like the back of my hand.
- 24:35Speaker 6: The next thing you're going to be telling me is
- 24:37Speaker 6: I watch all those noon-on shows of the life of– Whatever.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Now, don't be making fun of General Hospital because my
- 24:46Speaker 1: wife watches that. She tapes it. And sometimes when I'm there,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I watch it with her. So don't be making fun
- 24:53Speaker 1: of these soap operas because General Hospital's been on forever,
- 24:57Speaker 1: I want you to know. And it's not a bad show,
- 24:59Speaker 1: just so you know.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Well, I wouldn't waste my time. I could..
- 25:04Speaker 1: How would it be then if it was election day
- 25:07Speaker 1: and I came down and I picked you up and
- 25:08Speaker 1: I took you to the polls to vote? And I said, here,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I'll drop you off at the door and I'll wait
- 25:13Speaker 1: for you out here.
- 25:15Speaker 6: You want to know something?
- 25:16Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 6: You'd get tired. You'd get tired waiting.
- 25:22Speaker 14: You'd get, what the hell?
- 25:24Speaker 1: And listen, I understand how you old people are because
- 25:28Speaker 1: you don't want to be in line because dinner is
- 25:30Speaker 1: usually at 4.30, right? You like to have dinner by 4.30.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And then you like to be in bed by, what,
- 25:36Speaker 1: 9 o'clock. So you can get up at 5 in
- 25:38Speaker 1: the morning. For what reason? God only knows. Isn't that
- 25:42Speaker 1: what you old people do?
- 25:44Speaker 6: When my wife or I make dinner or supper... When
- 25:48Speaker 6: it's done, it's done. Whether it's at 4.30, 5 o'clock,
- 25:51Speaker 6: 6 o'clock, 7 o'clock, it makes no difference. And the
- 25:57Speaker 6: things I want to watch on TV, I record so
- 26:00Speaker 6: I don't have to listen to them stupid commercials.
- 26:05Speaker 1: So you're doing what? Listen to this. Listen to this,
- 26:07Speaker 1: you old people. You're doing what you want when you want.
- 26:10Speaker 1: You're living life kind of wild and free, right?
- 26:15Speaker 6: I don't know about the wild part.
- 26:18Speaker 1: No, it sounds to me, all kidding aside, it sounds
- 26:21Speaker 1: to me like you're enjoying your retirement. Is that true?
- 26:26Speaker 6: Except for my disabilities, yes. Other than that, yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Remind me, what is your disability?
- 26:36Speaker 6: I have to walk with a rollator or a walker.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Have to walk with what?
- 26:40Speaker 6: Have to walk around with a rollator or a walker.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay. So it's tough to go out and take
- 26:46Speaker 1: a walk around the block or something, right?
- 26:50Speaker 6: If it was 10 by 10 feet.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Okay. So I would say a guy like you deserves
- 26:58Speaker 1: to have a mail-in ballot because it's tough for you
- 27:00Speaker 1: to move around. Like you say, you can't just get
- 27:04Speaker 1: up and walk like a lot of other people. So
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'll throw you that bone.
- 27:09Speaker 12: Okay.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Well, what's in the bone?
- 27:13Speaker 5: Okay.
- 27:15Speaker 6: I've got to watch my sugar now, you know what
- 27:17Speaker 6: I mean?
- 27:17Speaker 1: A knuckle sandwich.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Oh, no, wait a minute now. I've already got falsies.
- 27:23Speaker 6: I don't need any more.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Right, right. You're a joy. I enjoy my talks with you.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Thank you for calling.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 27:32Speaker 5: All right.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I'll tell you something about that guy I just enjoy.
- 27:37Speaker 1: News Radio 570, WKMU, and you're on the air.
- 27:43Speaker 15: Yeah, it was nice that he could choose whether I'm
- 27:46Speaker 15: going to eat at 4 p.m.
- 27:48Speaker 7: Or 4.30.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Well, he's retired. He can do whatever he wants, whatever
- 27:51Speaker 1: he wants. That's what he's saying.
- 27:53Speaker 10: Right.
- 27:56Speaker 15: I heard. And the only issue I would have is, okay,
- 28:02Speaker 15: you have all this time and you're choosing to do
- 28:04Speaker 15: everything else. We're asking you to just vote within this
- 28:08Speaker 15: one week and maybe go there.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But you learned he has a tough time moving and
- 28:19Speaker 1: walking in that sense. Listen, I'm not against absentee ballots.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Like I say, there's a reason for them. People in
- 28:26Speaker 1: the military, truck drivers, pilots, people that aren't going to
- 28:28Speaker 1: be around, or somebody that's got some issues like he has.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I'm cool with that.
- 28:35Speaker 15: Me too. And thank you for saying truckers because my
- 28:39Speaker 15: first four years going to Tamarkin, I was on call 24-7. Well,
- 28:45Speaker 15: guess what? I might go to work at 6 a.m.
- 28:50Speaker 15: and have a 14-hour day. Guess what? I'm out, right?
- 28:55Speaker 15: So for those four years, that's what I did because
- 28:59Speaker 15: I might miss out, right? You can't have me not vote.
- 29:06Speaker 15: that's not right uh..
- 29:07Speaker 1: The uh..
- 29:12Speaker 2: Uh..
- 29:12Speaker 15: Rich pharmacist uh... recall except for the uh... death penalty
- 29:17Speaker 15: thing in the catholic thing just open up the old
- 29:20Speaker 15: catechism of the catholic church or uh..
- 29:24Speaker 6: Uh..
- 29:24Speaker 15: Look at the canon law you it's it's not against
- 29:27Speaker 15: the catholicism it's against uh... some leftist freak from hell
- 29:31Speaker 15: like pope leo it's like against some leftist freak from
- 29:35Speaker 15: hell like pope francis so just to clear that up
- 29:41Speaker 15: Going back to my career at Giant Eagle, Tamarkin, when
- 29:47Speaker 15: I went there in 1994, they had a prohibition against
- 29:56Speaker 15: having trailers with our own banners on them in Ohio.
- 30:04Speaker 15: So when you would take a trailer to Ohio, it
- 30:07Speaker 15: could not have a giant eagle, you know, big ice
- 30:12Speaker 15: cream picture or potato chips or something. It couldn't have
- 30:15Speaker 15: that because of the whole farm war mess. And before that,
- 30:20Speaker 15: they were in trouble because they were selling jobs So
- 30:27Speaker 15: in 1991, they're selling jobs, $ 5, 000. Boom, you get hired.
- 30:33Speaker 15: And you know what? It was worth every penny. I
- 30:35Speaker 15: didn't get the opportunity to do it.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I would have.
- 30:38Speaker 15: It was amazing to get right on instead of be
- 30:42Speaker 15: on call for four years. They needed people then. They
- 30:46Speaker 15: need people today. So I think we have to shut
- 30:50Speaker 15: off the dole.
- 30:52Speaker 6: Right.
- 30:53Speaker 15: People sitting around and not doing anything that can do something.
- 30:57Speaker 15: We have too many jobs going unfilled. I agree with
- 31:01Speaker 15: Rich and the whole thing about the visas, especially the
- 31:05Speaker 15: fraudulent ones from India. That's what they do. But we
- 31:09Speaker 15: need to put a halt to everything. Remember when Trump
- 31:12Speaker 15: in his first term said, stop, we're just stopping immigration.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Stop it.
- 31:17Speaker 15: Because we had to, because everything's out of control. And
- 31:21Speaker 15: so we have people here that won't go to work
- 31:25Speaker 15: because somebody might be on the dole, right? And then
- 31:31Speaker 15: those people aren't going to work. We have these jobs.
- 31:34Speaker 15: What do you want the poor business to do? Now,
- 31:37Speaker 15: is it skullduggery with Disney and other businesses.
- 31:42Speaker 14: That do it the bad way?
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yes. Yes.
- 31:44Speaker 15: But you hate to have to have so much goddamn
- 31:48Speaker 15: regulation in a government, but you have to. The company's
- 31:52Speaker 15: scamming you on one side, bringing these people in. The
- 31:55Speaker 15: people not going to work are scamming you on the
- 31:57Speaker 15: other side. We have to put a stop to it.
- 32:03Speaker 15: You have to appoint somebody to look at this situation.
- 32:08Speaker 15: Rich is right. You have to get somebody, but... You
- 32:12Speaker 15: have to stop the people from sitting around doing nothing
- 32:16Speaker 15: and getting paid for it by our tax dollars. It
- 32:22Speaker 15: can't work that way. You're paying people not to work
- 32:25Speaker 15: and then bringing foreigners in to do whatever. It's all wrong.
- 32:32Speaker 15: So did you enjoy the wrestling matches on Sunday night?
- 32:38Speaker 1: I said it yesterday. I didn't watch it. I mean,
- 32:40Speaker 1: I actually I didn't I didn't tune into it. I'll
- 32:45Speaker 1: say it again. Listen, and people might get I don't
- 32:47Speaker 1: care if they get upset about it. I just don't listen.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I don't go for the White House. I think it's
- 32:52Speaker 1: a little bit of sacred ground there. I didn't go
- 32:54Speaker 1: for Biden with the what gay pride parade or whatever
- 32:57Speaker 1: he had at the White House yesterday. And I don't
- 33:00Speaker 1: go for we're going to have this boxing or fighting
- 33:04Speaker 1: match at the White House. I mean, it's just I
- 33:07Speaker 1: just don't foresee that that's what the White House is
- 33:11Speaker 1: there for, for that type of stuff. I mean, it's
- 33:13Speaker 1: I just I think it belittles the White House.
- 33:18Speaker 15: And that's fine, and that's your prerogative. When I found
- 33:24Speaker 15: the UFC, I started practicing it in 1994. Went to
- 33:34Speaker 15: New York City in 2007 to sign up for the
- 33:38Speaker 15: TV show that you didn't watch, The Ultimate Fighter, right?
- 33:43Speaker 15: And guess who was there? Donald J. Trump. It's just
- 33:48Speaker 15: a thing. It's just an audition, and he's walking around
- 33:51Speaker 15: schmoozing everybody.
- 33:51Speaker 14: That's what he does.
- 33:53Speaker 3: So you have him and Dana White.
- 33:56Speaker 15: Who Dana White took over the UFC, and he's about
- 34:02Speaker 15: to go under. And Trump says, no, look, everything's fine.
- 34:08Speaker 15: And Dana White's going, no, no, I'm going to lose everything.
- 34:12Speaker 15: And Trump says, why? He says, I can't have it anywhere.
- 34:15Speaker 15: They didn't have the rules like the Nevada Athletic Association
- 34:20Speaker 15: and blah, blah, blah. Trump says, hey. Come to bring
- 34:25Speaker 15: it to Trump Taj Mahal and we'll do it there.
- 34:28Speaker 15: And Dana White says, I can't afford it. There's no
- 34:32Speaker 15: way I can afford that. Trump says, we'll work it out.
- 34:35Speaker 15: So those two have a very special bond. And Trump's
- 34:40Speaker 15: been there from the beginning. All I'm saying to you
- 34:42Speaker 15: who's worried about, so, right, it's a personal thing for me.
- 34:45Speaker 15: That's my sport. And it's either no holds barred fighting
- 34:50Speaker 15: or mixed martial arts. Stop saying a wrestling match.
- 34:54Speaker 1: All right, stand by. Stand by. Stand by. Back with
- 34:58Speaker 1: Jake in a minute. More of your calls straight ahead.
- 35:00Speaker 1: 352 on a gorgeous Tuesday. Our radio app. Youngstown's news, weather,
- 35:06Speaker 1: and talk station. 570 WKBN. All right, so we'll pause
- 35:11Speaker 1: here for, I've got to get back to the caller
- 35:14Speaker 1: in a bit, on NewsRadio 570 WKBN, because we have
- 35:19Speaker 1: the headlines coming up, so stay tuned for that in
- 35:22Speaker 1: a minute, and then we'll come back with more. NewsRadio
- 35:24Speaker 1: 570 WKBN, Youngstown, Ohio.
- 35:39Speaker 16: Five people have been charged. The group of nearly two dozen, though,
- 35:43Speaker 16: were using signal chat.
- 35:44Speaker 17: Officials say multiple suspects in multiple states were involved in
- 35:47Speaker 17: the plot to target the UFC fight. Secret Service Deputy
- 35:51Speaker 17: Director Matthew Quinn told reporters.
- 35:53Speaker 1: It was an active plot, and it's ongoing.
- 35:55Speaker 17: Quinn says the plot involved the purported use of drones
- 35:59Speaker 17: and snipers. But noting that not all the suspects were
- 36:02Speaker 17: yet in custody, the Deputy Secret Service Director pointedly said this.
- 36:05Speaker 13: In order to maintain the integrity of the investigation and
- 36:08Speaker 13: the security plan, we chose not to leak it.
- 36:11Speaker 17: The remark's been read as a criticism of FBI Director
- 36:13Speaker 17: Kash Patel, who announced the first arrests online. Stephen Portnoy,
- 36:18Speaker 17: ABC News, Washington.
- 36:19Speaker 16: New questions surrounding the memo of understanding between the U.S.
- 36:23Speaker 1: And Iran.
- 36:24Speaker 16: President Trump at the G7 summit in France says the
- 36:26Speaker 16: memo will be signed Friday. The terms, though, have not
- 36:30Speaker 16: been made public. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demanding the
- 36:33Speaker 16: president privately brief the gang of eight lawmakers.
- 36:36Speaker 1: And the public.
- 36:37Speaker 16: Majority Leader John Thune today says he's confident the president
- 36:40Speaker 16: is on the right path, but also says he and
- 36:42Speaker 16: members of Congress need more information. I think we're all
- 36:44Speaker 16: hoping to get more information, more detail about that.
- 36:47Speaker 17: I expect that will be forthcoming.
- 36:49Speaker 16: It's primary day across four states, along with Washington, D.C.,
- 36:52Speaker 16: where voters are casting ballots in the mayoral race in D.C.
- 36:55Speaker 16: In California, primary races for the U.S. House seats are
- 36:58Speaker 16: taking place. More than 30 years after his killing spree began,
- 37:02Speaker 16: Gilgal Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is set to be
- 37:04Speaker 16: sentenced tomorrow. For the strangulation deaths of women whose bodies
- 37:08Speaker 16: were buried on Long Island, the 62-year-old pleaded guilty to
- 37:12Speaker 16: the murders of eight women, the majority of them sex workers.
- 37:15Speaker 16: The terms of his plea agreement require him to spend
- 37:18Speaker 16: the rest of his life in state prison without the
- 37:20Speaker 16: possibility of parole. Heuermann also agreed to be interviewed by
- 37:23Speaker 16: the FBI's behavioral unit. You're listening to ABC News.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570 at ODKVN. Ron Furb,
- 37:32Speaker 1: it's 407 here in the afternoon. 76 degrees. All right, Jake,
- 37:36Speaker 1: go ahead. I'm sorry for the delay.
- 37:38Speaker 15: Not a problem, sir. Thanks for having me. I'm just saying,
- 37:42Speaker 15: in my experience in the mixed martial arts world, it's overwhelmingly...
- 37:49Speaker 15: I'm not saying Republican. I'm saying on Trump's.
- 37:53Speaker 6: Side, right?
- 37:54Speaker 15: Or somebody like that. An outsider... He's always looking out
- 37:58Speaker 15: for that. John McCain was a great example because he
- 38:01Speaker 15: was completely against it and said it was human cockfighting
- 38:05Speaker 15: and wanted to ban it because it's John McCain, a
- 38:08Speaker 15: great war hero and a terrible politician, a terrible senator.
- 38:12Speaker 15: He wouldn't even protect his own border. So it tells
- 38:15Speaker 15: you where that is. So I'm saying– and who was
- 38:19Speaker 15: the audience in attendance? Military, veterans, and first responders?
- 38:27Speaker 14: Right.
- 38:27Speaker 15: This only pushed them further in Trump's direction.
- 38:32Speaker 7: Right.
- 38:32Speaker 15: So if it's not Trump, if it's J.D. Vance, if
- 38:35Speaker 15: it's Marco Rubio, I think it really bolstered the people
- 38:39Speaker 15: who hate the UFC also hate Trump.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:43Speaker 15: So, that's a wash. You know, I don't think you're
- 38:47Speaker 15: losing anything. I don't mind your argument of saying we
- 38:51Speaker 15: shouldn't have.
- 38:52Speaker 5: That at the White House.
- 38:54Speaker 15: That part doesn't bother me. I'm saying for the voting,
- 38:57Speaker 15: because you were talking about the war. Well, we're going
- 39:00Speaker 15: to lose the midterms, but we're going to lose this. Right,
- 39:03Speaker 15: because what if Trump's... of what Trump's doing, and I'm
- 39:08Speaker 15: saying this was bringing more people into the fold.
- 39:11Speaker 5: That's all.
- 39:12Speaker 15: That's my only, you know, I'm in favor of it anyway. However,
- 39:15Speaker 15: I'm saying for the election aspect of it, I think
- 39:21Speaker 15: this only bolstered Trump's chances.
- 39:24Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, Jake. NewsRadio 570 WQN, you're on
- 39:27Speaker 1: the air.
- 39:28Speaker 8: Yeah, how you doing, Ron?
- 39:29Speaker 1: I'm well.
- 39:31Speaker 8: I enjoyed your show yesterday, especially the closing with your colleague.
- 39:35Speaker 8: That was really entertaining.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Oh, that was, how about that? A little insight there.
- 39:41Speaker 1: That's how I ended up here.
- 39:43Speaker 8: Was that Carolyn Persutti?
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yes, Carolyn Persutti is how I ended up in Youngstown.
- 39:49Speaker 8: Yes, and that was fascinating. I remember the old, the other,
- 39:54Speaker 8: you were talking about how she looks the same now
- 39:56Speaker 8: as she did then. That's her Italian genes.
- 39:58Speaker 10: Yes.
- 39:59Speaker 8: It's like, remember Gina Marinelli and Mary Jo Maluso, the
- 40:03Speaker 8: news anchors?
- 40:04Speaker 1: Well, Carolyn Persutti looks so very, time has treated her well.
- 40:08Speaker 1: She's aged gracefully. So, I mean, it's, I mean, she's, really,
- 40:13Speaker 1: it's really, it was a pleasure to see her, but
- 40:17Speaker 1: that's really how I how I ended up in Youngstown
- 40:21Speaker 1: because of her and bringing my name to Pete Gabriel
- 40:28Speaker 1: because she was already here. Well, that's how it all materialized.
- 40:31Speaker 1: That's what I was talking about yesterday to her. And,
- 40:34Speaker 1: you know, if you think like you should really think
- 40:36Speaker 1: about people that have really made huge changes in your
- 40:39Speaker 1: life as you go through your life. I mean, it's
- 40:44Speaker 1: interesting how one individual can can make a huge difference
- 40:48Speaker 1: in your life in so many ways. I mean, somebody that's–
- 40:51Speaker 1: think about it, all of you that are listening, the
- 40:53Speaker 1: first person who ever hired you for a job when
- 40:55Speaker 1: you were a young person and hired you and paid
- 40:59Speaker 1: you and taught you how to work. I mean, there's
- 41:02Speaker 1: so many people that– wouldn't you agree that are like–
- 41:05Speaker 1: changed your life, uh, to, to a large extent. I mean,
- 41:08Speaker 1: I would not.
- 41:09Speaker 8: All it takes is that one, one opportunity and that
- 41:12Speaker 8: one day where they, you know, do something that makes
- 41:14Speaker 8: the big change.
- 41:15Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 41:16Speaker 1: The change is your course. I mean, I, uh, I
- 41:19Speaker 1: will tell everybody, I would not have ended up in
- 41:21Speaker 1: broadcasting if it wasn't for my older brother. I have
- 41:23Speaker 1: an older brother who's 10 years older than me that, uh,
- 41:26Speaker 1: that wasn't broadcasting at the time. And I would go
- 41:29Speaker 1: with them. I was just a little kid, a 10, 11,
- 41:31Speaker 1: 12 years old when he would go to work. And, uh,
- 41:35Speaker 1: that's how i became exposed to it uh back when
- 41:38Speaker 1: i was just a just a little kid to say
- 41:40Speaker 1: and again kind of my brother was uh guiding me
- 41:44Speaker 1: in a direction there and i didn't even didn't even
- 41:46Speaker 1: realize it but you know if you didn't carolyn pursued
- 41:49Speaker 1: he didn't uh bring my uh we worked together in
- 41:52Speaker 1: canton and if she didn't come here and tell pete
- 41:55Speaker 1: gabriel about me and then pete gabriel hiring me i'd
- 41:59Speaker 1: I don't think any of this would have materialized, and
- 42:01Speaker 1: I would have never dreamed I would be here for
- 42:03Speaker 1: 41 years. It's amazing.
- 42:05Speaker 8: And I like that crack reporter comment that you made
- 42:09Speaker 8: about her.
- 42:09Speaker 1: That was good. Well, I meant it in good fashion.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Make no mistake. She just took it wrong at that point.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Now let me go back to you for a second.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I want to go back to you and give me
- 42:21Speaker 1: your assessment on a couple of things because you're a
- 42:24Speaker 1: sharp guy with finances. I want to pick your brain
- 42:27Speaker 1: for a second. So what are your thoughts– today on
- 42:33Speaker 1: the spacex stock as it went up again today.
- 42:37Speaker 8: Still positive this is unlike your last caller yesterday where
- 42:41Speaker 8: he said he would short the stock uh you can't
- 42:45Speaker 8: do that with spacex there it's uh there's not enough
- 42:49Speaker 8: shares to be available to short and it's you can't
- 42:53Speaker 8: even margin spacex so you've got to have the cash
- 42:56Speaker 8: you can't buy it on margin it's non-marginable but uh
- 43:02Speaker 8: I went back and I re-watched that interview on CNBC
- 43:07Speaker 8: on YouTube with Ron Barron about his assessment, and it
- 43:12Speaker 8: was so positive. And what I didn't know, that SpaceX
- 43:18Speaker 8: is getting $ 1. 5 billion a month from Anthropic to use their...
- 43:28Speaker 8: They call it a computing center, but it's a data center.
- 43:31Speaker 8: In Memphis, Tennessee, it's the biggest in the world. And
- 43:35Speaker 8: that's going to add up to $ 25 billion a year
- 43:40Speaker 8: just from Anthropic renting a space on their computing platform,
- 43:46Speaker 8: their AI platform.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Isn't that similar to, and you would know this, like Amazon,
- 43:52Speaker 1: when we think of Amazon, I mean, they come to
- 43:55Speaker 1: your house and they bring you your stuff. But Amazon
- 43:57Speaker 1: really makes, I think, the bulk of its money from AWS,
- 44:01Speaker 1: Amazon Web Services. I mean, it's huge. I mean, it
- 44:05Speaker 1: is just about everything, everything, and I do say everything
- 44:10Speaker 1: goes through AWS.
- 44:12Speaker 8: Well, look at Amazon when it started out. What did
- 44:14Speaker 8: they do? They sold books online.
- 44:16Speaker 10: Right.
- 44:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 44:17Speaker 8: That was it. And then they developed into the giant
- 44:21Speaker 8: that they were in retail, and then they got into
- 44:27Speaker 8: computers and AI and cloud data, and it's fantastic.
- 44:32Speaker 1: And you would remember when Amazon stock went public, Amazon
- 44:36Speaker 1: wasn't making any money. I mean, the delivery service, it
- 44:41Speaker 1: took a long time before it started to become profitable.
- 44:44Speaker 8: I remember when Jeff Bezos went on the Jay Leno show,
- 44:48Speaker 8: the Tonight Show.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Yes.
- 44:50Speaker 8: And he had the big, remember the big funny hat
- 44:52Speaker 8: he had? And Leno was making fun of him. You
- 44:56Speaker 8: run a company, it doesn't make any business, and why
- 44:59Speaker 8: should we believe you? And it was, I couldn't believe it.
- 45:02Speaker 8: I said, boy, he's really mocking this guy, and look
- 45:06Speaker 8: what he's become.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I mean, can you imagine? I mean, Amazon is great.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I mean, it is, it's, it's great. You can order any,
- 45:14Speaker 1: I could order something during a commercial break and it'd
- 45:16Speaker 1: be at your house tomorrow or the next day. I mean,
- 45:19Speaker 1: it's just, it exposed you to so many other products
- 45:22Speaker 1: that you might not have in your local store. It
- 45:25Speaker 1: can be delivered right to your house. It's just, it's phenomenal.
- 45:29Speaker 1: It's hard to imagine now that you have it, life
- 45:32Speaker 1: without it. But, uh, I mean, it's just a great thing.
- 45:38Speaker 1: And I bring that up. I just want to go
- 45:39Speaker 1: back to this SpaceX. So did you buy any?
- 45:44Speaker 8: What I did do, I sold contracts this morning.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Okay, so you're way over my head on this. I mean,
- 45:51Speaker 1: are you going to buy any of the actual stock?
- 45:55Speaker 8: Well, here's what I did today. I laid out, if
- 45:59Speaker 8: I have to buy the stock... It's like $ 124, 000 today.
- 46:06Speaker 8: It's cash-secured puts. I sold six. Actually, I sold two
- 46:13Speaker 8: more when I was listening to you on the radio
- 46:17Speaker 8: with the callers. At a quarter to four, I sold
- 46:20Speaker 8: two more contracts through Schwab. So I have eight total contracts.
- 46:26Speaker 8: The strike price is $ 155, 000. Exploration date is July 17th.
- 46:34Speaker 8: So if in July, on the 17th, if that SpaceX
- 46:39Speaker 8: is trading at $ 155 or below, I'm obligated to buy
- 46:44Speaker 8: the shares. I have to buy 100 shares for contract,
- 46:50Speaker 8: which would be 800 shares. And my profit today was...
- 46:57Speaker 8: The average, I averaged out in the morning, I was
- 47:00Speaker 8: getting six, I think it was $ 620, $ 630 a contract.
- 47:04Speaker 8: And when I made my last trade, it was $ 7, $ 710.
- 47:11Speaker 8: So I made about $ 5, 200 today selling those contracts. And
- 47:18Speaker 8: I'm just going to let them go until next month.
- 47:21Speaker 8: If they expire and they're above $ 155, I'll just rewrite
- 47:26Speaker 8: the contracts. There's two outcomes. You have outcome A, the
- 47:32Speaker 8: stock drops. You have to buy the shares. But you're
- 47:37Speaker 8: buying the shares at a lower price, and you got
- 47:39Speaker 8: paid to buy the shares. Outcome B is the stock
- 47:43Speaker 8: stays up. The options expire.
- 47:46Speaker 3: They're worthless.
- 47:47Speaker 8: You keep the cash that you sold the contracts for,
- 47:50Speaker 8: and you just repeat the process. And actually, there's one
- 47:54Speaker 8: other option. You can always buy to close your contract.
- 47:58Speaker 14: At any time.
- 48:00Speaker 8: If you want to get out of the contract, you
- 48:02Speaker 8: can buy it at any time before it expires.
- 48:06Speaker 6: All right.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you're in a whole other realm than the average investor.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Would you not agree? I mean, when you're talking this
- 48:13Speaker 1: kind of stuff. I mean, do you think the average,
- 48:17Speaker 1: in your opinion, do you think the average guy I
- 48:19Speaker 1: think the stock was at $ 200 or something today, if
- 48:22Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken. Do you think the average guy should buy,
- 48:25Speaker 1: if you can, some shares of SpaceX?
- 48:31Speaker 10: I wouldn't buy it at $ 200.
- 48:32Speaker 8: I mean, I would buy it at $ 155. The range today,
- 48:34Speaker 8: it went up to $ 225. It opened around $ 251. Right now,
- 48:37Speaker 8: it's trading at $ 201. 58. Like I said, it's a great company,
- 48:50Speaker 8: but the average guy should not be buying one stock.
- 48:55Speaker 8: And I listened to your financial show last night. Was
- 48:58Speaker 8: that a tape show?
- 48:59Speaker 1: Yes, yes.
- 49:00Speaker 8: Okay, so I guess I'm breaking all the rules that
- 49:04Speaker 8: I don't have a diversified portfolio. I'm mainly 95% stocks
- 49:12Speaker 8: in tech, and they're concentrated.
- 49:15Speaker 15: Okay.
- 49:17Speaker 8: What got me to do that was back when Warren Buffett,
- 49:21Speaker 8: through Berkshire Hathaway, made Apple his number one stock. And
- 49:26Speaker 8: the slogan back then was, just buy Apple, stupid. That's
- 49:29Speaker 8: the only thing you have to do in the market,
- 49:31Speaker 8: just buy Apple. At one time, it was 42% of
- 49:34Speaker 8: his portfolio was Apple. Berkshire Hathaway.
- 49:39Speaker 1: And that's what you..
- 49:40Speaker 8: Number two stock was Bank of America, I believe.
- 49:43Speaker 1: So did you, as a result of that, then you
- 49:46Speaker 1: bought a bunch of Apple back then?
- 49:47Speaker 8: I bought a bunch of Apple. Well, I had Apple.
- 49:50Speaker 8: I bought a bunch more, and I told all of
- 49:52Speaker 8: my relatives, just buy Apple. They thought I was crazy.
- 49:56Speaker 8: They didn't do it, but some of them did. But
- 49:59Speaker 8: I haven't sold a share, and that's where they were
- 50:03Speaker 8: saying last night, they're correct. Take some money off the table.
- 50:07Speaker 8: Take some profits off. When your stocks run so far,
- 50:11Speaker 8: you want to pare back. All of the fund managers
- 50:14Speaker 8: do that. I don't know if you know who Kathy
- 50:17Speaker 8: Woods is that runs the ARK Funds.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I do not, but my question to you would be,
- 50:22Speaker 1: let's say if you could buy SpaceX at, let's just
- 50:25Speaker 1: say $ 200, you don't think that potentially a year from
- 50:29Speaker 1: now that stock could be significantly more than that? I'm
- 50:33Speaker 1: not saying like a NVIDIA, but it could soar?
- 50:37Speaker 8: Here's the thing. The lockup is going to expire in
- 50:41Speaker 8: six months on SpaceX. So I think that puts a
- 50:45Speaker 8: ceiling on the stock as far as, When that lockup hits,
- 50:50Speaker 8: all the people can get out of their shares at
- 50:54Speaker 8: a profit, at a very big profit. Those are the
- 50:57Speaker 8: employees for the company and all the funds that had
- 51:01Speaker 8: access to the IPO. So, no, I wouldn't buy it.
- 51:05Speaker 8: I think it's going to be higher in a year
- 51:07Speaker 8: from now or two years. But in the meantime, every month,
- 51:12Speaker 8: I'll be knocking down probably $ 5, 000 for the next four months.
- 51:17Speaker 8: And when it gets closer to the lockup, that's when
- 51:19Speaker 8: I'm going to stop selling the options on it, the
- 51:22Speaker 8: cash secured.
- 51:23Speaker 1: So you think in six months when people can start
- 51:26Speaker 1: to sell their shares, the price will come down?
- 51:29Speaker 8: Yes, there's always an opportunity. You've got to be patient
- 51:32Speaker 8: in the market. Never get caught up in the mania.
- 51:36Speaker 8: And who said it?
- 51:39Speaker 1: All right, so you think six months from now, wouldn't
- 51:43Speaker 1: it be something, because many of these people got a
- 51:45Speaker 1: lot of these shares, the employees and what have you,
- 51:48Speaker 1: you would think to a certain extent they would want
- 51:51Speaker 1: to keep them because the future, at $ 200 a share,
- 51:55Speaker 1: the future they could be $ 1, 200 a share or more.
- 51:59Speaker 8: Well, it depends on their circumstance. A lot of the
- 52:02Speaker 8: employees aren't upper-level executives or engineers anymore. They're just basic
- 52:07Speaker 8: janitors at the company. They're going to be millionaires. So
- 52:13Speaker 8: they'd probably be inclined to sell their shares.
- 52:16Speaker 1: So you think that in six months you'll be able
- 52:18Speaker 1: to buy it for less, in your opinion, than you
- 52:20Speaker 1: can today?
- 52:21Speaker 8: I think there's always an opportunity. That's what Buffett always said.
- 52:25Speaker 8: You buy when there's blood on the streets. When everybody's selling,
- 52:28Speaker 8: you buy.
- 52:29Speaker 1: And when there's mania... Stand by. Just hang on for
- 52:32Speaker 1: a minute. I'll get back to him with more in
- 52:34Speaker 1: a minute. News Radio 570 WKBN. This is a 570 WKBN.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I want to go back here and say, I mean, theoretically,
- 52:43Speaker 1: I mean, it's one of those stocks that I'm wondering
- 52:46Speaker 1: if you shouldn't buy and hold, like a SpaceX, whatever
- 52:49Speaker 1: that number is, 155 or 200. and sit on for
- 52:53Speaker 1: 10 years. I mean, if you're young, if you're young,
- 52:57Speaker 1: you buy it and just sit on it, and it
- 53:01Speaker 1: could make a big difference. I'm not talking about buying
- 53:04Speaker 1: it and selling it a year later. I'm saying actually
- 53:06Speaker 1: sit on it for a while and see.
- 53:08Speaker 8: I'm going to say one thing before I bore more
- 53:11Speaker 8: of your audience and they start shutting the radio off.
- 53:14Speaker 8: There was more call buying today than put selling. So
- 53:19Speaker 8: people were buying... in the money deep in the money
- 53:23Speaker 8: puts excuse me deep in the money calls on spacex
- 53:28Speaker 8: it for that same time period seven seventeen at a
- 53:32Speaker 8: strike price of two hundred it would cost you uh...
- 53:36Speaker 8: two thousand seven hundred dollars to buy one contract which
- 53:40Speaker 8: would give you the right to buy so they're bullish
- 53:43Speaker 8: that that stocks going to be at two hundred or
- 53:46Speaker 8: above and there was like way more call buying than
- 53:52Speaker 8: put selling. So there are a lot of people that
- 53:54Speaker 8: are bullish. And you could make a lot of money
- 53:59Speaker 8: buying deep in the money calls. And that's a whole
- 54:02Speaker 8: other ballgame, but I'm not going to bore you.
- 54:03Speaker 1: But it shows you that people are thinking it's Elon Musk,
- 54:07Speaker 1: it's SpaceX, it's going to be similar to like Apple
- 54:12Speaker 1: in the beginning or Amazon in the beginning.
- 54:14Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 54:15Speaker 8: A guy like Musk, like I said, he only comes
- 54:18Speaker 8: around once every 500 years. And when he does... Take
- 54:21Speaker 8: advantage of it.
- 54:24Speaker 1: So you still, you're mainly in, like AI is going
- 54:28Speaker 1: to be huge. I don't care where it goes. It's
- 54:31Speaker 1: going to be around. So you're heavily into NVIDIA and
- 54:35Speaker 1: AI as far as you're not diversified. You're saying you're
- 54:40Speaker 1: betting it all on the future of AI.
- 54:42Speaker 8: I've been doing that for the last 10 years. And
- 54:45Speaker 8: I listened to the show last night and I said, yeah, boy,
- 54:48Speaker 8: I'm breaking all the rules, but it's paid off. And
- 54:53Speaker 8: basically my stocks, I'll just run down them real quick. Apple, Amazon,
- 54:57Speaker 8: I have crypto, Coinbase Global, Google, both classes, Meta, which
- 55:03Speaker 8: I love a lot for AI, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palantir Technologies.
- 55:10Speaker 8: And then I have my options that I trade. These
- 55:14Speaker 8: other stocks I just hold.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Right, okay. And how do you think the economy's going
- 55:21Speaker 1: to do? If you had to judge it today, Tuesday,
- 55:24Speaker 1: June 16th, it looks like it appears that maybe the
- 55:29Speaker 1: war will be behind us, oil prices down. How do
- 55:32Speaker 1: you assess where things are going?
- 55:35Speaker 8: I think things are going good, but it's like trying
- 55:37Speaker 8: to turn around a big supertanker. I mean, Trump has
- 55:41Speaker 8: screwed it up so much that he didn't have to,
- 55:44Speaker 8: but now he's headed back on the right path. And
- 55:47Speaker 8: I'm very, you know, I've got to see what happens
- 55:51Speaker 8: this week with the Fed. That's the big thing. I
- 55:54Speaker 8: hope they just leave interest rates the same and don't
- 55:56Speaker 8: hike them. If they do, that will be okay. And
- 56:00Speaker 8: then if they cut later on in the year, it'll
- 56:02Speaker 8: be a lot better.
- 56:03Speaker 1: All right, stand by for a minute. I want to
- 56:06Speaker 1: come back to him in a minute and pick his
- 56:09Speaker 1: brain a little bit more. Smart guy. Back in a minute.
- 56:11Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKVN. NewsRadio 570 WKVN. Oops, there we go.
- 56:37Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN and Runford. All right, let me
- 56:40Speaker 1: go back to you. So how do you think things
- 56:42Speaker 1: are going to happen with the economy?
- 56:45Speaker 8: Well, like I said, I'm waiting for Warsh, Kevin Warsh,
- 56:48Speaker 8: to come out this week, and we'll see what he's
- 56:51Speaker 8: going to do with interest rates. And hopefully he'll hold
- 56:55Speaker 8: them where they're at and not raise them because of
- 56:58Speaker 8: the inflation that was caused by the war that's It's
- 57:02Speaker 8: going to be wrapped up soon, I hope.
- 57:04Speaker 1: But you think the economy is going to turn around
- 57:06Speaker 1: and start going in the right direction?
- 57:08Speaker 8: We still have that oil shortage. It's going to impact
- 57:12Speaker 8: us for the next couple of months. Until that gets
- 57:15Speaker 8: back to where it was, there's that hole. They keep
- 57:19Speaker 8: saying the hole. I don't really follow oil. But they
- 57:22Speaker 8: said this is going to go into late August, possibly September,
- 57:26Speaker 8: with the high prices rising. But other than that, the
- 57:29Speaker 8: economy is good. Everything looks good. If we can just
- 57:32Speaker 8: take care of the fraud, we'd be in great shape.
- 57:37Speaker 8: They had a story on California on fraud. This is
- 57:44Speaker 8: a quick example. This was in 2021. California had a
- 57:49Speaker 8: program for children to provide hearing aids for low-income children.
- 57:55Speaker 8: It was a $ 23 million program. Okay, fast forward. New
- 57:59Speaker 8: York Post just did a follow-up on where we're at today.
- 58:03Speaker 8: They've only given out 300 hearing aids after five years
- 58:09Speaker 8: at 76,000 per hearing aid. So the fraud in California
- 58:13Speaker 8: is rampant. And I hate to say Ohio is not
- 58:17Speaker 8: much better, but we've got a governor that I hate
- 58:19Speaker 8: to call him a crook, but the guy I think
- 58:21Speaker 8: is a crook. He's ignoring Columbus. ignoring Springfield, ignoring all
- 58:27Speaker 8: the other Medicare fraud that's been going on in the state.
- 58:33Speaker 8: And we're talking about lowering our property tax. If we
- 58:36Speaker 8: just took care of the fraud, we wouldn't need a
- 58:39Speaker 8: property tax. But that's my big concern.
- 58:43Speaker 1: He doesn't seem very motivated to do anything with it.
- 58:46Speaker 8: No, and there's only a few state senators that care.
- 58:49Speaker 8: Like the guy that you have on every Thursday, he's
- 58:52Speaker 8: really good.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Dave Thomas.
- 58:54Speaker 8: Yeah, but the other politicians I have no use for.
- 58:59Speaker 8: But I'm bullish on the economy two years out, and
- 59:03Speaker 8: the people that I follow who are really smart people
- 59:08Speaker 8: see very big positive things in the next two years.
- 59:13Speaker 1: Are you concerned– the other night when I was talking
- 59:15Speaker 1: with John Arnold on his program, John Arnold actually said–
- 59:19Speaker 1: he said, I don't really like to use the word
- 59:20Speaker 1: scared because he just doesn't like to use it. But
- 59:23Speaker 1: he says AI– I'm paraphrasing. AI scares me. He says
- 59:27Speaker 1: because already you can see where AI has cut a
- 59:30Speaker 1: lot of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs at this
- 59:34Speaker 1: point in time. And he seems to think it's going
- 59:37Speaker 1: to cut– in a very short period of time, it's
- 59:40Speaker 1: going to cut a lot of jobs.
- 59:42Speaker 8: But it's going to increase in other areas. It's going
- 59:46Speaker 8: to increase employment, I believe, and it's actually going to
- 59:49Speaker 8: help us. It's going to be a tool to grow
- 59:52Speaker 8: the economy. I'm very positive on AI, except that they
- 59:57Speaker 8: had to put the brakes on as far as the
- 59:59Speaker 8: government was concerned. It was so advanced that it was
- 1:00:05Speaker 8: finding software bugs and looking into software places that it
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: shouldn't be doing That's what worries me, that it sort
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: of takes.
- 1:00:13Speaker 15: Off on its own.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: So you don't think it's going to devastate the workforce?
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: I don't think so.
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: No.
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: Certain sectors it will, but other sectors it won't.
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: All in all, the people that I follow, they're not
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: concerned about that as far as the employment. I mean,
- 1:00:37Speaker 8: there will be jobs out there. You might have to
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: go into different areas, but.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: The technology will replace some, but not all.
- 1:00:47Speaker 18: Right.
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: And you're going to still need, like I said, plumbers, electricians, welders.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Yeah, painters.
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: Those people can make it.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Nurses.
- 1:00:58Speaker 19: Yes.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: Technical people. People like Dieter.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:01:03Speaker 8: Putting in air conditioners and heaters. I mean, you need
- 1:01:06Speaker 8: skilled people like that. right now they make a pretty
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: good buck you know it's not like any they make
- 1:01:13Speaker 8: not like the old days but uh... wolf we shall
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: see if they can chop government employment that's why musk
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: was so successful when you've went in there and i
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: had high hopes for him the first year of the
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: trump adam there uncovered all the fraud showed where all
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: the fraud was going showed that we could have eliminated
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: eliminated our income tax if he would we would just
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: stop the fraud, and our Congress and senators did nothing.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: No, they did something. They were against Musk. I mean,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: they really wanted to drive him out because he was
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: exposing all of the corruption and the money-stealing, and if
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: he can't solve the problem, I don't think there's anyone
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: that's going to be willing to take it on that
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: has the brainpower, the technology, or the buffer that he has.
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: No, and he paid the price when his Tesla stock
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: went in the tank. and people were keying Tesla cars
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: and destroying dealerships. I mean, he paid a price for
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: he was working for free trying to help the country out,
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: and that's how we repaid him.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Yeah, which is the politics of it all, by name-calling
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: him and terrorizing his dealership, so much so that he
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: left it to go address his own business. So the
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: people who use those techniques, it worked, but his taxpayers
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: were screwed as a result of it, I think.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: Yeah, and what I really like is when he's going
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: to put these compute centers in orbit. And there was
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: a Democrat that came out criticizing Trump.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's so hard to imagine that. Like,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: basically what you're saying to me, now this is hard
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to even grasp this. I mean, you're saying these data
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: centers that all these communities are bellyaching about and this
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: kind of stuff. As I say, everyone will use it.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: And a data center is not a bad thing to
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: have in your area. I don't think it's an evil thing.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: It's not like having a big polluter or anything like that.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: It's probably worth having. But you're saying you think, you
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: honestly think that, let's say, I'll give you five years
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: or so, that they'll be obsolete because Musk thinks you
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: can put them in like a satellite in outer space?
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: His top engineer at SpaceX said it'll be 30 to
- 1:03:30Speaker 8: 32 months. They'll be in space. It's very doable. They
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: have the rockets. And here's my other question. Why do
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: we have NASA with our diversity programs and our astronauts?
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: We have one from Canada. We have one minority. We
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: have a, you know, give it to SpaceX. You can't
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: make rockets better than Musk. He makes the biggest rockets.
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: They're reusable.
- 1:03:59Speaker 15: They're cheap.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: They're dependable.
- 1:04:01Speaker 13: And uh..
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: I don't know why they got anything the government gets
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: involved in a kid they can't uh... they can't compete
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: with the uh... private sector as far as cost and
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: efficiency and when.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: You look at it and when you look at the
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: line must you say he's a he's what he's like
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: that thomas edison of his time yeah.
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: He's like the uh... davinci of this time the guys
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: i don't know how we'd be how come he comes
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: up with all these ideas And the most fascinating one is,
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: which I never thought he would do, is the NeuroLink.
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: For people that are paraplegics and they can't walk, they
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: can't move, he's doing the NeuroLinks where it's going to
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: advance medicine to the point where these people are going
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: to be mobile again. And it's, I don't know how
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: he thinks of these things at night, but..
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Well, I don't know if it's just him. He's got
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: a whole staff of people.
- 1:04:55Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, right, right. But he is, the idea is
- 1:04:58Speaker 8: the seeds come from his brain. and then he hires
- 1:05:01Speaker 8: the right people, and people want to work for him.
- 1:05:05Speaker 8: But real quick to the data centers, the Democrat, this
- 1:05:08Speaker 8: lady congressperson, said that, oh, he can't put those in
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: space because space is a vacuum, and you won't be
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: able to get rid of the heat.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Or cool it down.
- 1:05:19Speaker 8: And I'm going, oh, you moron. This is what we
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: have in Congress. That's why he's going to put them
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: up there. Cooling is going to be zero. It's going
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: to be zero. Not a cost, whereas if you put
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: them on Earth, you need constant water cooling and you
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: need power generation. The generation in space will be so
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: efficient and the cooling 100% efficient. And his biggest plant
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: now is in Memphis, Tennessee, his data center. And I
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: don't hear any complaints about that. It's the largest in
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: the world.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: It's amazing. I mean, you see, it's amazing. All right.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I appreciate everything. Thank you for all you do. Appreciate it.
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: Talk to you later.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: All right. Snooze Radio 570. Don't you kill you. And
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: you're on the air.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Oh, glad to hear that. How you doing, Ron?
- 1:06:08Speaker 14: Good.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: You haven't been by to see the new antenna.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Oh, no, I have not.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: It's up there.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: How's it working?
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: It could be better, I think.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Now, why could it be better? Why shouldn't it be
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: good from, I mean, you put it back together, shouldn't
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: it be working fine?
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: I put an intent above it, and it might be
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: affecting it.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: All right, well, take it down.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: So anyway, I really felt sorry for your buddy, the retiree,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: that doesn't have time to go vote, but he voted
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: here for probably, what, 40, 45?
- 1:06:48Speaker 15: Six years.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know that he said he didn't
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: have the time as I explored it further. He has,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I mean, mobility's an issue for him. So that's why
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: he doesn't know.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: Wait a minute.
- 1:06:58Speaker 14: He started off.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: He didn't have the time to, And he didn't want
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: to stand in line and wait.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: As if he has so many things to do during
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: the day that he knows, like, what to advance.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Well, if you would have listened, you would have found out. Because,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I mean, some things people don't like to say. He's
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: got some mobility issues.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: And he talked about it.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: And I was really going along with his story. And
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: then when he said about he had a mobility issue,
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: then I really got mad. Because, you know, I think
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: you know I work the polls. And there is no
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: reason for him to blame his mobility issue because he
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: can go curbside. He doesn't have to get out of
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: his car.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Okay, but wait.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: You're attacking a guy.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: What's the big damn deal? He does it the way
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: that it's legally. Well, I'm going to tell you. Okay.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Knock it off.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: He votes.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: He just does it through Ohio's system of a mail-in ballot.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: And here's the bottom line. He doesn't have to justify
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: it to you. I didn't say he has to. No,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: but you're attacking him for it.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: Is a good, well-done in Ohio. It's for people like him,
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: for people like you, you point out, all the reasons
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: you point out. Those who live in a nursing home
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: who obviously hope somebody with a little bit of common
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: sense is helping them vote, not somebody voting for them.
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: And I.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Like the way Ohio's done. I got involved with working
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: the ballots to see... that things will change. done on
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: the up and up. Because with all the conspiracy, and yesterday,
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I think it was, he said, all this conspiracy's talking.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: It's coming out more and more. It's being proven in
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: all these other states that the fraud is there. It's
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: just a matter of time for it all to come out.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: So Ohio, I feel, from my viewpoint or how I
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: take part in working the ballots, I feel Ohio is
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: doing it right and pretty darn secure.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: I know how everything's done.
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I'm not talking about California with mailing the ballots out.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: And I don't have a problem with the guy getting
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: a mail-in ballot in Ohio. I don't either.
- 1:09:47Speaker 20: I don't either.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: But he complains about if he goes, he has to wait. Well,
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: guess what?
- 1:09:53Speaker 15: He should be glad that he.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Has to wait. I tell you what, that's his business.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: And when it comes to people being stupid about voting,
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: not voting enough, you know what? If they're too stupid
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: not to vote, I don't want them to vote because
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: they're probably not well-informed voters.
- 1:10:14Speaker 21: Okay?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: I want well-informed voters. When I was a kid, I
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: thought the great— I don't think I have voted— I think
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I voted every single time from high school, graduating in 1977.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: I don't think there's one time I've ever missed voting.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: At the very most, once.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: And at that time, computers were coming out. And I thought, oh, man,
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: this would be great. We'll be able to vote from home,
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: or we'll be able to shop from home. And I
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: realize all the fallacies now of doing that. The fraud
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: is possible because somebody's voting from home on their computer,
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: or somebody's helping them vote, or voting for them.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Listen, I don't know how to tell you this. I
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: sit here in Ohio, and I'm not worried about a
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: lot of fraud in Ohio and how we do our elections.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: So I'm not worried about how we do it here.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: This is where I live. I pointed out in California,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I'm glad I don't live there. And I think there
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: in Colorado is ripe with fraud when you're mailing everybody
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: a ballot. So I have no problem with people in
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Ohio mailing a ballot in, and I'm not going to
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: question a guy that has mobility issues doing it his
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: way or criticize him for it. It's none of your
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: damn business. Okay, period.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: That's the way the system is done intentionally so he
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: can vote.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: And without a problem.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: Listen, I'm not going to go on with this if
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: you want to criticize him. Because I don't agree with
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: it at all. He can do what he wants to do.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: It's his life. We have mail-in ballots. You don't have
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: a problem with it. Who are you to tell him
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: he should be doing it the other way? He doesn't
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: have to. He's going to do it his way.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Okay, he's entitled to his opinion.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Okay, but you don't know him, and you don't know
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: his mobility issues or what his problem is. Okay, who
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: are you to criticize him? I'm going to say it again.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: It's none of your damn business. It has nothing to
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: do with you. It's none of your damn business.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: Him criticizing other people being here to vote. Because he
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: has to wait for them to vote.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: He says he doesn't want to wait.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: The way things are done.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Okay, you know, I'm not going to go. Listen, I
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: don't give a damn. He's entitled to his opinion with
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: his issues that he's having. And whether he wants.
- 1:12:45Speaker 12: To go, you don't have to get out of the car.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I don't give a damn. He doesn't even have to
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: do that. He can vote by mail. Who are you
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: to criticize him? Then get off his ass. Then get
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: off his ass. Who are you to tell him what
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: he should do?
- 1:13:01Speaker 14: I'm done.
- 1:13:02Speaker 22: I'm done. I'm done.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: Hello.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: You're on the air. Wait a second. You're on the air.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Stand by.
- 1:13:15Speaker 14: I gave you a hard time.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Stand by.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Hang on.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I'll come right back to you after this. Youngstown's News, Weather,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: and Talk Station, 570 WKBN. All right. Your turn.
- 1:13:31Speaker 14: Well, first of all, they allow that guy to work
- 1:13:34Speaker 14: at the polls?
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I mean, it's like. I have no problem with how
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: we do the mail-in ballots here, but it's like, I
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: guess you do have a problem because this guy with
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: mobility issues does it that way, and you don't want
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: to stand or be in line, and you want to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: tell him he should get in his car and drive
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: down there. It's none of your damn business.
- 1:13:53Speaker 14: Well, how do you let this guy work at the polls?
- 1:13:54Speaker 14: I don't get that. The second thing is, before I
- 1:13:59Speaker 14: get into what I told you two months ago, is
- 1:14:01Speaker 14: the reason why the gas prices are going down is
- 1:14:03Speaker 14: because we've dipped way, way, way into our strategic reserves.
- 1:14:07Speaker 14: And I think that's going to come back and bite
- 1:14:08Speaker 14: us because we're going to have to pay more for
- 1:14:10Speaker 14: it to replace it, more per barrel to replace it
- 1:14:14Speaker 14: than what we used. Now, I told you something two
- 1:14:16Speaker 14: months ago. I think I told G2 this, right? I
- 1:14:20Speaker 14: hope G2 was listening. When you guys are saying, well,
- 1:14:24Speaker 14: how do we come out of this? I told you
- 1:14:27Speaker 14: how we can come out of this, but Donald Trump
- 1:14:31Speaker 14: is not going to let us. Now, let me tell
- 1:14:34Speaker 14: you what happened. You can believe me or not, but
- 1:14:36Speaker 14: I got the receipts. This is what happened. The European Union,
- 1:14:42Speaker 14: led by France's prime minister, United Kingdom, Canada, Russia, China,
- 1:14:52Speaker 14: I think it was like 38 states, All 38 of
- 1:14:55Speaker 14: those countries were speaking to Iran's foreign minister. And they
- 1:15:05Speaker 14: came up with the deal. Now, think about it. These
- 1:15:08Speaker 14: are the same people that came up with the deal
- 1:15:10Speaker 14: with Barack Obama. They came up with the deal. Iran says, okay.
- 1:15:16Speaker 14: Trump finds out about it, and he wants to say, well,
- 1:15:19Speaker 14: we need to do a memorandum of understanding, which would
- 1:15:23Speaker 14: give him 60 days, you know, towards the midterms to
- 1:15:28Speaker 14: help him out. But the fact of the matter is this.
- 1:15:31Speaker 14: The deal is on the table. The deal was made
- 1:15:33Speaker 14: without Donald Trump. That's when Donald Trump says, well, I
- 1:15:37Speaker 14: don't really know what the deal is because he didn't
- 1:15:39Speaker 14: negotiate it. All the other nations, and they set a
- 1:15:43Speaker 14: trap for them. When you come over with the G7,
- 1:15:45Speaker 14: nobody's talking to them. They make them look like a fool.
- 1:15:48Speaker 14: But everybody but the United States is on board with this.
- 1:15:52Speaker 14: And you know what the bad part about it is?
- 1:15:54Speaker 14: This deal is worse than Obama's deal.
- 1:15:59Speaker 12: All right, stand by.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: One minute, stand by. Let me do my headlines at
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: 5 and hear more of this. NewsRadio 570, Dodie Kivian
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: and Ron Furb from the Kingdom of Mahoning. Back in
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: a bit.
- 1:16:15Speaker 23: From ABC News, I'm Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming
- 1:16:19Speaker 23: weeknights on ABC News Live. The FBI director announced five
- 1:16:23Speaker 23: arrests today in connection with a foil drone attack at
- 1:16:26Speaker 23: the UFC event at the White House Sunday. Sources tell
- 1:16:28Speaker 23: ABC News the alleged plot involved using drones packed with explosives.
- 1:16:32Speaker 23: The suspects across multiple states allegedly used signal chat and
- 1:16:36Speaker 23: the group involved nearly two dozen people. ABC News contributor
- 1:16:39Speaker 23: and former FBI profiler Brad Garrett says it raises questions
- 1:16:42Speaker 23: about other possible plots.
- 1:16:43Speaker 16: We don't know their motivation for doing this, but the
- 1:16:46Speaker 16: point being, could they have something else lined up?
- 1:16:50Speaker 15: It's a long, hot summer.
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: There's a lot of events that occur around the country.
- 1:16:55Speaker 15: Did they have something else planned?
- 1:16:57Speaker 23: President Trump at the G7 summit says he believes Iran
- 1:17:00Speaker 23: will finalize a memo of understanding this Friday, and it
- 1:17:02Speaker 23: includes Iran not having a nuclear weapon.
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: But terms of the peace deal have not been made public.
- 1:17:07Speaker 23: Senate Leader John Thune says members of Congress need more information.
- 1:17:11Speaker 23: Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is calling for the
- 1:17:13Speaker 23: president to hold a classified briefing.
- 1:17:15Speaker 24: Americans need to know how and when this war will
- 1:17:19Speaker 24: truly end. They need to know what's the deal on
- 1:17:22Speaker 24: the Strait of Hormuz, which has caused gas prices to
- 1:17:26Speaker 24: go through the roof.
- 1:17:27Speaker 23: Severe storms are targeting parts of central Texas, Louisiana, and
- 1:17:30Speaker 23: Mississippi again today, raising the risk of more flooding.
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: ABC's Melissa Dunn has more from the Gulf region.
- 1:17:36Speaker 25: Over already in San Antonio, there was flash flooding concerns there.
- 1:17:39Speaker 25: That turned deadly. A woman was trapped in her car,
- 1:17:42Speaker 25: did not survive. So that right now is the kind
- 1:17:45Speaker 25: of danger and concern we're seeing. Over in Houston, where
- 1:17:48Speaker 25: we were, the issue there is, of course, the bayous.
- 1:17:50Speaker 25: That's what controls essentially to prevent any flooding in the area.
- 1:17:55Speaker 25: They get filled up more than just half a foot
- 1:17:57Speaker 25: and can be life-threatening.
- 1:17:59Speaker 23: In California, dry and hot conditions are the concern. Fire
- 1:18:02Speaker 23: crews are battling a wildfire for a second day in
- 1:18:05Speaker 23: Riverside County. The blaze has charred at least 2,600 acres
- 1:18:08Speaker 23: and is 25% contained.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: You're listening to ABC News.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: All right, so back to it. 5.06 on a Tuesday afternoon.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Middle of June already. Nice day out there, 75 degrees.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Emanuel is basically saying... You're basically saying you're acting as
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: though the president, Trump, has nothing to do with this deal,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: and he can't mix it or doesn't have any say-so
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: on it. And I would argue with you, he's got
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: every say-so on it.
- 1:18:37Speaker 14: Okay, well, let's talk. Okay, now listen. Now, check this out, right? Now,
- 1:18:42Speaker 14: everybody else has come to an agreement, not a memorandum.
- 1:18:47Speaker 14: They've come to an agreement, to sign. Now, I told
- 1:18:50Speaker 14: you Donald Trump won't go for this. So Donald Trump
- 1:18:54Speaker 14: is saying, now listen to what he says. Well, I
- 1:18:56Speaker 14: don't really know what's in the negotiation, right? You know,
- 1:18:58Speaker 14: we're going to sign it. He's not getting what he wanted.
- 1:19:02Speaker 14: You better believe if Donald Trump got what he wanted,
- 1:19:05Speaker 14: we would know about it right now. So what he's
- 1:19:08Speaker 14: going to do is he's going to try to step
- 1:19:10Speaker 14: up in front, right, and say that he's doing this.
- 1:19:13Speaker 14: But that memorandum is for 60 days. What's the saying?
- 1:19:19Speaker 14: Within those 60 days, there won't be no more bombing.
- 1:19:23Speaker 14: So the bottom line is this. What I'm worried about
- 1:19:28Speaker 14: is a word back from the 1960s in Vietnam. It's
- 1:19:32Speaker 14: called mission creep.
- 1:19:34Speaker 12: China.
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: China.
- 1:19:36Speaker 14: I don't know if you know this, but China has
- 1:19:38Speaker 14: a railroad that goes from Beijing to Iran. It goes
- 1:19:43Speaker 14: through four countries. I don't know if you know about that,
- 1:19:45Speaker 14: but it's there. And also, Iran, since they sent weapons
- 1:19:51Speaker 14: to Russia to fight Ukraine, Iran has factories across the
- 1:19:57Speaker 14: border in Russia building doggone drones and things like that.
- 1:20:04Speaker 14: So the bottom line is this. Just like in Vietnam,
- 1:20:07Speaker 14: what Trump needs to do is he needs to shut
- 1:20:09Speaker 14: up and go along with everybody else. Because as long
- 1:20:14Speaker 14: as he does this, our economy is going to be
- 1:20:16Speaker 14: terrible and he can't win. We can't win this, Ron.
- 1:20:21Speaker 14: When everybody else say, listen, sign it, and he says, well,
- 1:20:25Speaker 14: I'm just going to do a memorandum or whatever, right?
- 1:20:29Speaker 14: Just sign the doggone thing, right, and get out of there.
- 1:20:33Speaker 14: And he says, well, I need the Europeans to help
- 1:20:36Speaker 14: me unblock this. They already did what they're going to do.
- 1:20:40Speaker 14: Nobody's paying Donald Trump no attention. Don't you understand that?
- 1:20:44Speaker 14: He is messing up.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Go along with the agreement.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Well, what am I missing? I thought he did. I
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: thought they docu-signed it. And I don't know the details
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: of it yet. They haven't released it all yet. As
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong, it's been docu-signed,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: electronically signed, and J.D. Vance is going to go to
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: the actual physical presence when this is, what do you say,
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: finalized or whatever? And it appears, I don't know what
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: the details of it are. I mean, everybody speculates what
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: they could be. I don't know what the details of
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: it are. They say, and I don't know how they
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: would know, the Strait would reopen. There won't be any tolls.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: Some of Iran's money will be released back to them
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: if they meet certain criteria. And the nuclear, I don't
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: know where the whole nuclear issue goes. If I back
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: up for just a bit with you to bend your ear,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: as I said, I think this was a bad idea
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: from the very beginning. I think it's a bad idea.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I think he was brought into it with Netanyahu. I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: think he thought that this would be over much sooner
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: than it is. And it didn't. And I think Trump's
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: back is up against the wall, too. I think Trump
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: is saying, OK, we are running out of oil. We
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: have a shortage of oil. We're hitting tank bottom, if
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: you will, in our refineries. We have a shortage of
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: where oil's an issue now. So his back is up
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: against the wall when he's looking around saying, as far
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: as supply is concerned, as far as inflation is concerned,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: and he's got to reach a deal, or this thing
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: would have gotten a lot worse. as far as the
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: cost of gasoline or diesel, and inflation would have got
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: a lot worse. So his back was up against the wall.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: So do I think this is, I don't know what
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: the deal is. Do I think it's going to be
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: some great deal? No, I think he probably compromised on
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: a lot of stuff to get something accomplished so he
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: could get out of this mess that he created. I mean,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: if I had to speculate to get out of this
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: mess that he created. Now, there are some people, Emanuel,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: which I would be totally opposed to this. There are
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: some people I saw Marjorie Taylor Greene was talking about,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: and I hope this isn't accurate, and I hope it's wrong,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: that we would give Iran $ 300. Billion or– I think
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: it was billion or million. I don't know. A huge
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: sum of money. It's either– it's got to be 300
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: billion that we would give Iran $ 300 billion to rebuild.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: And if that's the case, for example, what she was
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: saying is, this war cost us $ 2 billion a day.
- 1:23:39Speaker 10: A day.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Is what it cost us. And she's saying, and she doesn't,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: I don't think anyone knows the details yet, but I
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: would like to know if this is, when they come out,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: if we're giving Iran $ 300 billion to rebuild their country
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: for all the damage that we did out of our
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: taxpayer money. I don't care if they get whatever sum
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: of money it is of their money that we've been
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: holding to rebuild their country. I mean, I get the
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: fact that their money's been held, and I have no
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: problem if they would release a large sum of their money.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: I don't know how much is involved in that for
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: them to be able to rebuild their country. But I
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: would be 100%. Opposed to any deal that says we're
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: going to give you $ 300 billion of American taxpayer dollars
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: to rebuild your country. And Marjorie Taylor Greene was saying that,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: I don't know how, if she knows or not, speculating
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: or not, that that's part of the agreement. If that
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: is part of the agreement, then I think Trump got taken.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Under no circumstances should we give our tax dollars to
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: rebuild their country at all. And as I understand it,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: they would release some of the money that is held
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: if they meet certain criteria. And I don't know enough
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: about the deal to even say where it is. And
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: the only thing I would agree with you on, it
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: would seem to me. that if it's a slam-dunk deal,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: we would know the terms of it by now, don't
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: you think? I mean, they'd be saying..
- 1:25:13Speaker 14: No, no, no, because Donald Trump wants to be out
- 1:25:17Speaker 14: in front. You have to do these things without Donald
- 1:25:21Speaker 14: Trump knowing about it. Now, what I'm trying to ask you,
- 1:25:24Speaker 14: I don't think you've ever lied to me over all
- 1:25:26Speaker 14: these decades, right?
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Well, there was that one time.
- 1:25:31Speaker 14: Okay, don't tell nobody about it.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:25:34Speaker 14: Now, don't you think if Donald Trump has a victory, right,
- 1:25:40Speaker 14: and this was such a great deal, he would have
- 1:25:42Speaker 14: been talking about it on Truth Social? He's treating this
- 1:25:46Speaker 14: like he did the Epstein file.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yes. Do I find it strange that we don't
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: have the details of this great deal?
- 1:25:54Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Yes, I mean..
- 1:25:57Speaker 14: Well, because he didn't make the deal. The same people
- 1:26:00Speaker 14: that made the deal there with Obama are the same people,
- 1:26:03Speaker 14: France and all those people, right? Well, I don't know.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: I don't know who made the deal. I can't even
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: speculate on who made the deal, but I do know
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: who has the final say-so on the deal. I mean,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: obviously Trump can say we're going to do it or
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: we're not going to do it. He ultimately has the
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: final say-so on whether or not we agree or disagree
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: with it. But I'm going to tell you again, I'm
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: going to go right back to what I was saying
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: to you. I believe Trump's back is up against the wall.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: I believe he's saying, go back to it. I think
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: he thought this would be over much sooner than it is.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: I think that he thought Iran would cave and they
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: did not.
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: And..
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: He's got a big problem. This cannot go on for
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: the United States much longer, or it will be an
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: economic disaster, I think, for this country. An economic disaster.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I got one more question. This move was wrong from
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: the very beginning. And I'm going to be curious what
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: the details of this are. If you're asking me, do
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I find it odd that the details aren't out there?
- 1:27:14Speaker 14: That's not what I'm asking you.
- 1:27:17Speaker 6: Go ahead.
- 1:27:17Speaker 14: I'm asking because I'm confused.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Well, I'm here for you.
- 1:27:22Speaker 14: Just what the heck is a memorandum of understanding? And
- 1:27:25Speaker 14: is it the same thing as a deal or a contract?
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a preliminary of the deal. So it's not
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: a deal, right?
- 1:27:35Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: I guess you could say it's a deal until it's
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: a memorandum of understanding is exactly that. We agree to this.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: They agree to that. And then J.D. Vance goes and
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: represents a country when it's the official signing or whatever.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: But I was told that it was DocuSigned, electronically signed already.
- 1:27:54Speaker 15: It was.
- 1:27:55Speaker 14: So, but, but, but see, the thing about it is like, like,
- 1:27:57Speaker 14: like I'm trying to say, if Trump was involved in
- 1:28:00Speaker 14: doing this, right, he would be telling you everything that
- 1:28:02Speaker 14: he's doing it. Cause Trump, Trump is the type of guy.
- 1:28:05Speaker 14: And well, I got to tell you this with Obama.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Well, let me ask you this. Let me back, let
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: me back up. You're basically saying that you don't think
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: it's a slam dunk deal. Remember when, when Trump was saying,
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: when this is going on, we won't accept anything short
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: of unconditional surrender. Remember when he was saying that?
- 1:28:20Speaker 12: Well, regime change.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Yeah, regime change, unconditional surrender. All of that stuff's been
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: thrown out with the wash. I mean, you know, it's
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: like we unless we have all of this kind of stuff.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: So now we're at a point where what is the
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: details of it is is a straight open and we'll
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: there be no tolls ever on the straight?
- 1:28:43Speaker 14: Uh, can I let you in on a secret?
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:45Speaker 10: Qatar, right.
- 1:28:46Speaker 14: Qatar made a deal with, uh, with, uh, Donald Trump
- 1:28:51Speaker 14: and Iran and they, and they paid Iran a whole
- 1:28:53Speaker 14: bunch of money and Qatar has been sending their ships
- 1:28:55Speaker 14: out with oil. People found out about that and like, man,
- 1:28:58Speaker 14: that's crazy. But the bottom line is this, right? I
- 1:29:02Speaker 14: don't think Trump is going to let this end. I
- 1:29:04Speaker 14: believe now. I know you don't believe this, but one
- 1:29:08Speaker 14: of the Israeli Secret Service guys, they're retired. He came on, said, listen,
- 1:29:15Speaker 14: you know, Netanyahu got something on Trump and he think
- 1:29:18Speaker 14: it's Epstein. So I don't know. But I just don't
- 1:29:20Speaker 14: think it's going to end. I just don't see Trump.
- 1:29:22Speaker 14: If Trump can't be the leader, if he can't be
- 1:29:25Speaker 14: the bully.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I don't think he can afford to let it go on, though.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: I mean, if you're asking me, do I think Netanyahu
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: will be pissed at Trump if we do this agreement
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: and bail? Probably so. But that's Israel's agenda to deal with.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: I believe Israel. Do you believe this? Do you believe
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: that Netanyahu and Israel got Trump to reverse himself and
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: get involved in this in the first place?
- 1:29:54Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: All right. So do you believe this was a mistake
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: from the very beginning? Yes. And so then do you
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: believe that this agreement or memorandum of understanding is not
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: going to be unconditional surrender or any of the other
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: nonsense that he was talking about?
- 1:30:11Speaker 14: No, there's going to be more bombs flying around.
- 1:30:13Speaker 8: You heard it here.
- 1:30:14Speaker 14: It ain't over with.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: So what do you mean? You think that he's not
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: going to go along with it, Trump?
- 1:30:20Speaker 26: No.
- 1:30:21Speaker 14: Listen, they already set up J.D. Vance as the fall guy.
- 1:30:24Speaker 12: Just listen to him.
- 1:30:27Speaker 14: The guy from South Carolina, right? You know, Lindsey Graham,
- 1:30:30Speaker 14: Linda Graham, whatever her name is.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: It's not Linda. Well, it could be. I mean, he cross-dresses,
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: but it's supposedly Lindsey Graham.
- 1:30:37Speaker 14: But they're going after J.D. Vance, right? They're saying that J.D.
- 1:30:41Speaker 14: Vance made this deal, and J.D. Vance couldn't have made
- 1:30:43Speaker 14: the deal because they said a month ago that they
- 1:30:47Speaker 14: didn't want to talk to J.D., they don't want to
- 1:30:49Speaker 14: talk to Jared, they don't want to talk to none
- 1:30:50Speaker 14: of those people. Remember they said that?
- 1:30:52Speaker 20: Yep.
- 1:30:53Speaker 14: So if they're not talking to him, how can he
- 1:30:54Speaker 14: make the deal?
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe they're talking to Rubio.
- 1:30:59Speaker 14: Yeah, so Trump's going to say he's going to blame
- 1:31:02Speaker 14: it on... Rubio showed up at the airport and nobody
- 1:31:05Speaker 14: met him there. He's looking around like, I don't get
- 1:31:07Speaker 14: nobody here. Listen, the United States has been... Single out.
- 1:31:11Speaker 14: They've been like a cuddle horse. They've been cuddled from
- 1:31:15Speaker 14: the dog on a herd. You know how a horse
- 1:31:18Speaker 14: gets in there and gets a cuddle away from the herd? Well,
- 1:31:21Speaker 14: that's what happened to Donald Trump. And that's the only
- 1:31:23Speaker 14: way you can deal with this guy. But I've got
- 1:31:24Speaker 14: to tell you this, what Obama said, right, which is true.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: I saw Obama said that he'd be surprised if it's
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: any different than the deal that they had in place.
- 1:31:34Speaker 14: Yeah, he'd be surprised if it's that good. He'd think
- 1:31:37Speaker 14: it's going to be worse. But he said the days
- 1:31:39Speaker 14: of bullying people and bombing people and submission are over with.
- 1:31:44Speaker 14: And that's Donald Trump. He's a bully. But he's our bully.
- 1:31:50Speaker 14: He got elected legally, right?
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: You better hope it. Listen, as an American, you better
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: hope it's a decent enough deal that we can put
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: this behind us.
- 1:32:00Speaker 14: As an American, I can't wait to vote. Love you, man.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: All right. See you. You're on air.
- 1:32:07Speaker 21: Hey, Ron, remember when John Arnold told you never listen
- 1:32:13Speaker 21: to a nonprofessional? That caller that just told you I
- 1:32:18Speaker 21: was wrong, that SpaceX is nonmarginable, he does not know
- 1:32:24Speaker 21: what he is talking about. I could have short-sold SpaceX
- 1:32:29Speaker 21: yesterday if I had wanted to, because I have a
- 1:32:32Speaker 21: margin account. But as you were talking to him, I
- 1:32:36Speaker 21: checked with the margin department and my mutual fund company,
- 1:32:40Speaker 21: and they said, yes, I can sell SpaceX short. Now,
- 1:32:45Speaker 21: SpaceX just overtook Amazon to become the fifth largest company
- 1:32:51Speaker 21: in the world and is very close to overtaking Microsoft
- 1:32:55Speaker 21: as the fourth largest. And yesterday, when the market closed,
- 1:33:00Speaker 21: Musk's net.
- 1:33:01Speaker 27: Worth went from $ 1. 75 trillion to $ 2. 1 trillion just on
- 1:33:08Speaker 27: SpaceX's capitalization alone. And that other caller also said that
- 1:33:16Speaker 27: when oil prices come down, inflation will come down.
- 1:33:20Speaker 21: He was wrong again. Inflation will come down if Kevin
- 1:33:25Speaker 21: Warsh contracts the money supply like Paul Volcker did. Rising
- 1:33:31Speaker 21: interest rates do not reduce inflation, Ron. Contracting the money
- 1:33:36Speaker 21: supply is the cause of deflation, and rising interest rates.
- 1:33:41Speaker 6: Are the effect.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Well, no, I mean, no, no, pause for a second.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: I disagree with both of those, and I'd be curious
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: your reaction to it. The point of when they raise
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: interest rates, it's to squash demand. So if we raise
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: interest rates, it discourages you from buying a house or
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: discourages you from running a credit card balance. Stand by
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: for me. Just stand by. I'll pick it up with
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: you after the break. News Radio 570 WKBN. 570 WKBN.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Let me go back and let me just take on
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: two things that you said when it comes to inflation.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: When you said lower oil prices doesn't reduce inflation. And
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: I'll say again, yes, it does. Because those costs are
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: all passed on to the cost of the product. If
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: it costs more to truck a product, if it costs
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: more for the farmer to fill the tractor, the costs
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: are passed on. If it costs more to truck it
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: to the store, the costs are passed on. Gas prices
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: increase in prices that people are charging for things. Energy
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: costs do create an increased price, if you will. And
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: in addition to what you were saying, interest rates, the
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: whole point of if you raise interest rates, to get
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: rid of inflation is to squelch demand because you don't
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: buy a house because the loan's too high or your
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: interest rate on your credit card. That's why they raise
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: interest rates to lower demand, which lowers prices and inflation.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: and energy costs are passed on as well. That would
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: be my disagreement with what you're saying. And I'm not
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: saying that government policy also doesn't create inflation, because it
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: does as far as printing more money and that kind
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: of stuff. But there's more than one factor to creating inflation.
- 1:35:34Speaker 21: Well, Ron, when you say they increase interest rates, the
- 1:35:40Speaker 21: Federal Reserve controls short-term interest rates. The free market controls
- 1:35:47Speaker 21: long-term interest rates. So you are absolutely correct. When long-term
- 1:35:52Speaker 21: interest rates go up, it's more expensive to get a mortgage.
- 1:35:57Speaker 21: It's likely that fewer houses will be sold.
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: I'm not saying... Was it Volcker? You would remember that.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: You do that and you can actually cause a recession
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: because it squelches demand so much that people start losing
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: their job because there's no demand.
- 1:36:15Speaker 21: Yeah, he did cause a recession because the prime rate
- 1:36:18Speaker 21: went up to 21.5%. And that was only for top
- 1:36:24Speaker 21: quality corporate borrowers. The average person that had a good
- 1:36:28Speaker 21: credit card... If they had perfect day one credit, they
- 1:36:32Speaker 21: were paying 30% on their credit cards back then.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Like the guy that Trump replaced,
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: what was his name and was running a Fed? I
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: can't remember. It escapes me right now.
- 1:36:44Speaker 6: Jerome Powell.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: Jerome Powell. I don't think Jerome Powell was an idiot.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: I disagreed with Trump and everything. I actually thought he
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: did a pretty decent job at running the Fed because
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: we didn't have a major recession yet. They always talked
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: about soft landings. Well, I think that his stewardship was good,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: not bad, as far as running the Fed. But he
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: didn't kowtow to Trump and do what Trump wanted him
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: to do, and that's why Trump wanted to replace him.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: I don't think he was a bad Fed chairman.
- 1:37:22Speaker 21: Well, I'm going to disagree with that other caller that said,
- 1:37:25Speaker 21: I can't short sell SpaceX. He says the economy is
- 1:37:29Speaker 21: doing good. Well, yeah, if you're rich, the economy is
- 1:37:32Speaker 21: doing great. But the average person can't make ends meet.
- 1:37:38Speaker 21: I mean, credit card defaults are increasing. Yeah, unemployment may
- 1:37:46Speaker 21: have went up recently, but I think the government's budging
- 1:37:50Speaker 21: the numbers.
- 1:37:50Speaker 6: That's because..
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: As they always do, yeah, I would agree.
- 1:37:54Speaker 21: Two part-time jobs, or if your unemployment runs out after
- 1:37:58Speaker 21: six months, then they no longer count you as unemployed.
- 1:38:02Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: I don't believe any of the government numbers because they're
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: skewed for political purposes. I don't care if it's Republicans
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: or Democrats. I don't believe their inflation number. I think
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: it's always lower than it is, and I don't believe the...
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: employment or unemployment numbers at all. They're all skewed. It
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: frustrates the living hell out of me, because how do
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: you fix a problem, Frank, if you don't really know
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: how severe the problem is because of politics?
- 1:38:27Speaker 21: Well, as you have said many times, before, they don't
- 1:38:32Speaker 21: include core inflation, which is food prices and energy, and
- 1:38:37Speaker 21: that's what's going up the most.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, like you don't need energy, Frank, and food. I
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: was reading today, stand by for a minute, let me
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: do my headlines, I'll come back to him, and I'll
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: get to more of your calls. We're here until 7 tonight,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Ron Verb, NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 1:38:50Speaker 7: NewsRadio 570, WKBN. All right, 534, NewsRadio 570, WKBN. All right, Frank,
- 1:38:57Speaker 7: what were you saying?
- 1:39:00Speaker 21: Warships between Iraq in a hard place, Ron. If interest
- 1:39:06Speaker 21: on the national debt alone keeps rising, soon all tax
- 1:39:12Speaker 21: revenues will go just to pay interest on the national debt.
- 1:39:17Speaker 21: Forget Social Security, forget Medicare, forget everything.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: Well, you would have to go up substantially because, as
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: I tell everybody, it's your second biggest expense just paying
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: the interest right now. I mean, it would have to
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: go up substantially to become the first expense, but that
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: doesn't mean it takes all of the money of your
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: tax dollars. It means the majority, it becomes your biggest
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: expense out of everything.
- 1:39:40Speaker 21: But I think interest expense on the national debt is what,
- 1:39:45Speaker 21: the third or second largest expense.
- 1:39:47Speaker 10: In the federal budget now?
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: Second, I thought it was.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: Second largest, yeah, I.
- 1:39:51Speaker 21: Believe you're right. Now, let me say, I want to
- 1:39:56Speaker 21: mention something about SpaceX?
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:00Speaker 21: J.J. said nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Well,
- 1:40:05Speaker 21: you know, when I started calling your show in the 90s,
- 1:40:09Speaker 21: I said, Ron, astrophysicists have been observing objects traveling in
- 1:40:15Speaker 21: space anywhere from 2 to 10 times the speed of light.
- 1:40:20Speaker 21: There's something out there traveling faster than the speed of light.
- 1:40:26Speaker 21: Are they extraterrestrials?
- 1:40:28Speaker 6: I have no idea.
- 1:40:30Speaker 21: But SpaceX is an American aerospace manufacturer, and they're also
- 1:40:37Speaker 21: a transportation services company. Musk founded them in 2002 with
- 1:40:43Speaker 21: the goal of reducing space transportation costs because they want
- 1:40:49Speaker 21: to colonize Mars and to exploit its vast metal and
- 1:40:54Speaker 21: mineral wealth at a number... of scientists believes exist on
- 1:40:58Speaker 21: that planet planet now if if they travel in rockets
- 1:41:04Speaker 21: at conventional speed it would take thirty years or more
- 1:41:08Speaker 21: to get the mars he would have to have people
- 1:41:12Speaker 21: say in their forties have children on their spaceship because
- 1:41:17Speaker 21: by the time they get the mars are going to
- 1:41:19Speaker 21: be like seventy years old must see.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: You should have left how long ago that frank You're right. Listen,
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: did you buy any SpaceX?
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: Yes?
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: No?
- 1:41:29Speaker 21: No, I didn't buy any SpaceX at all.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Are you going to?
- 1:41:35Speaker 21: Well, I'm not sure yet, but..
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: Well, let me know. I mean, if you buy the stock,
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: what is it, like $ 200 or something like that? I'll
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: be curious if you purchase any. It seems to me
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: like it's one of those that you'd want to buy
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: and hold, in my opinion. But that's my opinion.
- 1:41:52Speaker 21: Yeah, that's true, but It's probably overvalued right now.
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: But what about the long term?
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: When you say overvalued, is it the next, for example,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: there's people kicking themselves in the arse that they didn't
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: buy Amazon back when it started, or Tesla and that
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: kind of stuff, and look what it's valued at today,
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: or NVIDIA.
- 1:42:13Speaker 21: Well, Ron, the entire market is overvalued. The PE ratio
- 1:42:18Speaker 21: on the S & P 500 is now overvalued. 40
- 1:42:21Speaker 21: to 1. Remember the dot-com bubble when everything crashed in 2000?
- 1:42:27Speaker 12: The P.E.
- 1:42:27Speaker 21: Ratio was 33.5 to 1 back then, and everybody thought
- 1:42:32Speaker 21: that that was outrageous. We're in uncharted territory now.
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: Right. I don't disagree with that. But I will say
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: with the other caller, that guy's made a gazillion dollars,
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: but he's all in on AI stuff.
- 1:42:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: He's got a very narrow portfolio, and he's done quite
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: well over many, many years on it. And I think
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: AI is going to be the future, whether people like
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: it or not. If you made the right decisions, as
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: some of you guys have done years ago, they made
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: big money. Well, what did they say? Musk made a
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: lot of people millionaires who worked for his company just
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: in putting his stock up.
- 1:43:12Speaker 21: Let me ask you a question, because I know you've
- 1:43:15Speaker 21: been teaching yourself about Tank bottom and oil prices.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: I'm now an oil guru. Aren't you impressed?
- 1:43:25Speaker 21: Do you remember in 2000 when I called your, well,
- 1:43:29Speaker 21: you probably don't remember, but the dot-com bubble, okay? I
- 1:43:33Speaker 21: said that during these bubbles from what I know from
- 1:43:38Speaker 21: studying investment history, that 90% of those dot-com companies would
- 1:43:44Speaker 21: go bust and go bankrupt. Do you think that with
- 1:43:48Speaker 21: AI stocks it's going to be the same thing? 90%
- 1:43:52Speaker 21: of them might end up going bankrupt and only 10%
- 1:43:56Speaker 21: might make it?
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: I think is there a possibility? Yes, I would say
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: there's a possibility of that.
- 1:44:06Speaker 21: You know, Warren Buffett years ago said, I stopped buying
- 1:44:10Speaker 21: technology stocks.
- 1:44:11Speaker 6: You know why?
- 1:44:13Speaker 21: He said, I can't pick technology. the winners from the losers.
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but he, he often said he didn't buy
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: stuff that he didn't understand, but what did, uh, what did, uh,
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: what did that guy say about Buffett when that went
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: into sectors there? He was looking at Buffett at, at
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: that particular time. Listen, you know, NVIDIA is, is they're
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: talking about NVIDIA now doing stuff for, uh, consumer computers
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: and stuff. It seems NVIDIA is, is just growing as
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: far as consumers are concerned.
- 1:44:44Speaker 21: Uh, By the way, I didn't buy Amazon when it
- 1:44:50Speaker 21: first came out because I don't think it went public
- 1:44:53Speaker 21: until 2015. Remember when Amazon first started?
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: Never made money.
- 1:44:58Speaker 21: They basically just sold albums, CDs, and books.
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but look at it today. But as I said,
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: it didn't make a profit for years. Wouldn't you wish
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: you had stock when it first came out? And then
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: that AWS is a large part of Amazon Web Services,
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: makes a ton of money. I mean, from the government
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: and all private sector business, that's huge. That's huge. All right, buddy.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Thank you. You're on the air. Well, Ron.
- 1:45:32Speaker 6: Hello.
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: Hello.
- 1:45:33Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I just heard on your news article, your local news,
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: Iran says if Israel forces stay in Lebanon, it's a
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: violation of the deal. And I got a news article
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: today that says just that. Israeli ministers say Israel is
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: bound by the U.S.-Iran deal, won't withdraw from Lebanon. Iran
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: reaffirmed that any deal with U.S. hinges on an end
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: to Israel's war in Lebanon. And Israel's defense minister, Israel Katz,
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: vowed that Israeli defense force will not withdraw from the
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: so-called security borders in Lebanon, which include a major swath
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: of Lebanese territory, and where they also continue their occupation
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: in Syria and Gaza.
- 1:46:20Speaker 10: So it's going to be debatable if this deal even
- 1:46:22Speaker 10: goes through.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: There's no question in my mind, and I would ask
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: this of you, that Israel would love to see this
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: deal resolved. disappear because it appears to me, and I
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: would ask you this, it appears to me Trump knows
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: his back's up against the wall and he wants to
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: get out of this. And Israel doesn't want us to
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: leave and get out of it. They want us to
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: stay and do their agenda. And if they can nix
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: the deal, I think they'll try to nix the deal.
- 1:46:53Speaker 10: I agree.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 1:46:55Speaker 10: They don't go for the deal at all.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: But, I mean, the bottom line is we've got to say, listen,
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: then if you're going to continue this, I really think
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: at that point we, the United States, have to say, well,
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: you're on your own then because we're done here. You're
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: not going to tell the United States what deal we
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: can agree or disagree to or tell the citizens of
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: this country you continue to spend $ 2 billion a day
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: on this deal. war with Iran and continue to have
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: higher inflation, higher energy prices, and higher commodity prices. We're
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: just not going to do it. So we have a
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: lot of power over them, too, to pull out.
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:47:36Speaker 10: They seem to have a lot of power on us, too.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's probably in the beginning, but don't you
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: think at this point in time you can't stick this
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: out because of what it's going to do economically? Yeah,
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:47:48Speaker 10: We'll wait and see.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm agreed 100% with you. I'll be
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: happy when it's J.D. Vance, when it's signed and everything is,
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: we're done and see you later. I mean, $ 2 billion
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: a day. Did you hear anything more about what that
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor Greene was saying? And I don't know where
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: these people come up with this stuff. That's why I
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: put the caution light on that part of this agreement
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: has given them $ 300 billion to rebuild.
- 1:48:17Speaker 10: The I didn't hear anything on that. I'm sure it's
- 1:48:22Speaker 10: probably totally true, but I don't know.
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: I certainly hope not. I mean, when we're taking a
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: look at Social Security going belly up in seven or
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: eight years or raising the retirement age on Social Security,
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: why on God's green earth would we give Iran any
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: of our tax dollars to rebuild their country? I don't
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: care if we give them some of their money back,
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: their money to rebuild their country, but zero of our
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: tax dollars should go for it.
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: Agree?
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I agree. I got another article. Oil shortages are
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: the lowest since 1983.
- 1:48:54Speaker 6: Reserved.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Oil reserves. That doesn't surprise me even. That doesn't surprise
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: me at all. Does it you? I mean, we got
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: a serious problem if this thing goes on. And that's
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: why I say Trump's back is against the wall when
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: it comes to inflation, when it comes to the oil
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: reserves being depleted. There aren't a lot of options right now.
- 1:49:15Speaker 10: We're in big trouble if this don't get solved soon.
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: I'm in total agreement with that. I'm in complete agreement.
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: It was reported even on your local news that Iran's
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: not going to sign a deal if Israel don't withdraw
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: from Lebanon. They got no intention of leaving Lebanon.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: Then Trump's got to talk to them and tell them
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: this is the way it is because we're getting out.
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: I agree. I don't think Israel can go without the
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: United States, in my opinion.
- 1:49:47Speaker 10: I don't think they can either, especially if all the
- 1:49:49Speaker 10: Arabs unite.
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you've got to get out of this.
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: It's $ 2 billion a day. You've really depleted in selling
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: your missiles and a lot of your military equipment to
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: the Ukraine, and then you use so much over here.
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: What is your stockpile at this point in time? Because
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: you can't increase it overnight with this high-tech stuff. I
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: think he created a mess.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: I wanted to call in. Even your local news is
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: reporting it.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: Well, let me know if you hear any more. I
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: appreciate it. That guy's always on top of things. You're
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: on the air.
- 1:50:29Speaker 10: It's Paul Rehn-Pinko.
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:50:32Speaker 22: Hello, Ron.
- 1:50:33Speaker 6: How are you?
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: I'm well, sir. Thank you.
- 1:50:38Speaker 22: There's $ 300 billion that they're talking about rebuilding. I think
- 1:50:42Speaker 22: Trump's in favor of it because his company is going
- 1:50:45Speaker 22: to be the one that does all the construction over there.
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: Well, if you think of that, I haven't thought of that.
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: I haven't read it officially yet. The only person I
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: heard this from was some Archie Taylor Greene. If it's true,
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: I don't care who's doing it. I'm against American tax
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: dollars going to rebuild it.
- 1:51:03Speaker 22: But Trump's going to do it just to pat his
- 1:51:06Speaker 22: own pocket.
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: Well, good luck with the fallback from that. I mean,
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: how would you assess it if you said, oh, we
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: reached an agreement, and I don't know, this is fact
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: or fiction, and we're going to give you $ 300 billion
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: of our American tax dollars to rebuild all the stuff
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: we blew up?
- 1:51:22Speaker 22: I'm opposed to it, too.
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 1:51:25Speaker 22: Oh, you talk about AI.
- 1:51:26Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:51:27Speaker 22: And I'm a person that uses AI. As you know,
- 1:51:32Speaker 22: I'm blind. And I have what's called metaglasses that The
- 1:51:37Speaker 22: AI helps me see what I'm looking at. And as
- 1:51:42Speaker 22: far as I'm concerned, AI is a great thing for me.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: Now, does it work?
- 1:51:47Speaker 14: Yeah, it does.
- 1:51:47Speaker 22: I'm wearing them right now.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: So you put on Metaglass. When you say you're blind,
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: do you see just black or is it blurry?
- 1:51:56Speaker 22: No, I see a little bit of light, but I'm
- 1:51:58Speaker 22: not totally the black yet. I'm probably 80% dark.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: What caused your blindness again? Remind me.
- 1:52:07Speaker 22: It's a genetic thing.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: Okay. So when you put on the metaglasses, could you
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: watch television?
- 1:52:15Speaker 14: Yeah, they would tell me.
- 1:52:16Speaker 22: What's on the TV. Or, for example, if I say,
- 1:52:20Speaker 22: what am I looking at, it will describe. I mean,
- 1:52:23Speaker 22: I can't see the room, but it will describe what
- 1:52:25Speaker 22: I'm looking.
- 1:52:26Speaker 14: At in the room.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: Oh, so you don't actually get a visual of it.
- 1:52:31Speaker 22: It doesn't give you vision, but it describes what you're
- 1:52:34Speaker 22: looking at.
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: So it would say there's a coffee table 10 feet ahead.
- 1:52:39Speaker 22: Yeah, or it would describe what kind of carpet you
- 1:52:43Speaker 22: have on the floor or what color your sofa is
- 1:52:47Speaker 22: or other things like that.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: Now, how did you get these glasses? That's interesting.
- 1:52:51Speaker 22: I went up to, there's a place up in Mentor,
- 1:52:53Speaker 22: Ohio called Magnifiers and More. And that's where I bought,
- 1:52:58Speaker 22: she's an optometrist up there. I bought a lot of
- 1:53:01Speaker 22: my stuff from them. I have magnifiers and all this
- 1:53:03Speaker 22: other stuff that, Although you can buy them at Best Buy.
- 1:53:08Speaker 22: I didn't want to buy them at Best Buy because
- 1:53:09Speaker 22: they're connected with your phone. And I wanted somebody that
- 1:53:15Speaker 22: could help me connect it, and the Best Buy guys
- 1:53:18Speaker 22: don't do that. They just basically sell you, and you're
- 1:53:21Speaker 22: out the door. They don't give a damn about you.
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: Is it somewhat life-changing for you?
- 1:53:26Speaker 22: Oh, yeah, it has been life-changing for me because it will,
- 1:53:29Speaker 22: you know, It won't help me navigate where I'm going,
- 1:53:34Speaker 22: but it will tell me what I'm looking at when
- 1:53:38Speaker 22: I go there.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: So I don't have to worry about passing you on
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: South Avenue tonight?
- 1:53:42Speaker 22: No, I don't drive.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: No, I'm just teasing.
- 1:53:47Speaker 22: I haven't driven in about 20 years.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: I mean, Jake, I wonder what the technology, like when
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: you're talking about Musk, where he's talking about perfecting this
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: to get people that are unable to walk to be
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: able to walk.
- 1:54:02Speaker 22: It's called Project Blindsight. And I don't know that this
- 1:54:06Speaker 22: is it, but it might be. I'm not sure. But
- 1:54:10Speaker 22: it's a game changer for me.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: I tell you, and it's interesting because anybody that's listening
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: that's ever had a cataract operation, And I had cataracts,
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: and I had them.
- 1:54:23Speaker 6: So did I.
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Okay, so you want to know what's interesting is those
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: of you that have had cataract operations, those of you
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: who never have, there's no pain involved in it at all.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Everyone will get it if you live long enough. I
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: got it at a younger age because of sun exposure
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But as a result of it,
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: you know, you go in. that you lean back, they
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: actually tape your head down. You're awake, you know, because
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: you have to have your eyes open. You don't feel
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: any pain or any discomfort. This is hard for people
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: to imagine. And they actually, you know, cut into your eye.
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: You don't feel anything. But I remember you're looking up,
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: and when they take out your lens, because it's your
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: lens that is cloudy. You follow me?
- 1:55:06Speaker 22: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: And when they suck that out, your vision in that
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: eye goes black, literally goes black. And then you wait
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: for them to put what's like contact lens, basically, into
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: your eye and expand it. And when they do that,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: then if all goes well, you should be able to
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: see again. But I remember that moment when he pulled
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: out the cataract lens, you know, your natural lens that
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: went that way. And then when he put the contact
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: lens inside your eye, it was amazing. You were so
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: thankful to be able to get your vision back. Can
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: you imagine, Beck, if this would have been, Gene, like, what,
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: 50 years ago, you would have had to live your
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: life with– which is like looking through wax paper. You know,
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: everything's kind of blurry and not clear. I mean, technology,
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: somewhere with technology, they come up with, okay, we're going
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: to cut in your eye, we're going to suck the
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: lens out, we're going to put a contact lens in,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: it automatically seals up, you're not going to feel any pain,
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: and you're going to have perfect vision again. It's incredible.
- 1:56:14Speaker 22: I credit a lot of this to the space program, Ron.
- 1:56:18Speaker 22: From the time of John Kennedy.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: I got a story for you.
- 1:56:22Speaker 22: Over the last 60 years, what do you think about?
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: Stand by for a minute. I got a story I
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: want to tell you on the air. Hang on a minute.
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: I'm going to come back to you in a minute.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKBN. Stay tuned. Youngstown's news, weather, and
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: talk station, 570 WKBN. And Ron, for 556 here on
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: a Tuesday, what I was going to tell you, Gene,
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: there's two things I wanted to mention to you. When
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: you talk about the space program, and for everybody out
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: there that's ever had the procedure done to fix your
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: vision so you don't need glasses or contacts, LASIK or
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: whatever procedure you had done, that was not discovered by
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: the space program. I want all of you to understand
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: how that was discovered. All of you that said, hey,
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: I don't have to wear glasses or contacts and have
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: had that eye procedure done, that was discovered in Russia.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: And it was discovered because a kid got in an
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: auto accident in Russia. and was driving in the car,
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: and the windshield busted in his face, in his eyes.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: And when he was recovering and he opened his eyes,
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: he noticed he could see without the need of his glasses, okay?
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: Because when the windshield broke, it made some cuts in
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: his cornea. And it flattened the cornea and he could
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: see fine. It's because of that auto accident that busted
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: that windshield in Russia that it was discovered, the LASIK procedure,
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: to fix your vision so you don't need glasses or contacts.
- 1:57:56Speaker 22: That's great.
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: That's wonderful. And here's my second thing I got for you.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Like I said, I've had cataracts in both eyes at
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: a younger age, too. And I said, well, why why
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: is this you know why why is this and they
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: said well if you and i never knew this like
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: if you spent a lot of time in the sun
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: as as i did uh and still do as as
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: a younger person and uh and what have you, you
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: should wear polarized sunglasses, not just polarized. It helps prevent cataracts.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: They've got to be polarized. And also, if you ever
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: got hit in the eye, if you've been hit in
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: your eye, as I have, as you would suspect, numerous times.
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: But I've been hit in my eye by baseball and
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: stuff like that. That also can cause..
- 1:58:39Speaker 22: I thought maybe one, two, three.
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: That was over the head with a frying pan. But
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: that can also give you cataracts. So if you're going
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: to be in the sun, make sure you wear polarized
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: sunglasses and sunscreen. There's my eye tips. But when you
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: said the space program, I wanted you to know how
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: that was discovered because it was like an accident and
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: a fluke.
- 1:59:01Speaker 22: That's true, but the space program did have a lot
- 1:59:04Speaker 22: to do with the computers that we have and all
- 1:59:07Speaker 22: these people that don't think that it's worth our time
- 1:59:11Speaker 22: to go out and explore outer space. I would be
- 1:59:15Speaker 22: able to disagree with that because of all the technology
- 1:59:19Speaker 22: that has gone over the years.
- 1:59:24Speaker 16: From ABC News, I'm Michelle Franzen. Delaware police and emergency
- 1:59:29Speaker 16: crews on scene at Wilmington Hospital this hour following a shooting.
- 1:59:32Speaker 16: The hospital remains on lockdown. Wilmington Police Department Chief Administration
- 1:59:36Speaker 16: Officer David Karras.
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: Officers arriving have located two gunshot victims at this time.
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: Right now we're holding back on releasing their conditions until
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: families can be notified.
- 1:59:45Speaker 16: Law enforcement officials tell ABC News preliminary information indicates the
- 1:59:49Speaker 16: incident began when one hospital employee shot two other employees.
- 1:59:53Speaker 16: the alleged shooter may have been only a temporary employee.
- 1:59:56Speaker 16: The suspect said to be known to police who are
- 1:59:58Speaker 16: currently conducting a manhunt. A possible deal to end the
- 2:00:01Speaker 16: war with Iran set to be finalized this Friday that,
- 2:00:04Speaker 16: according to President Trump, terms of a memo of understanding
- 2:00:07Speaker 16: yet to be signed has not been made public. The
- 2:00:10Speaker 16: president at the G7 summit says the deal will reopen
- 2:00:12Speaker 16: the Strait of Hormuz and jumpstart nuclear talks. Democratic Senate
- 2:00:16Speaker 16: Minority Leader Chuck Schumer now calling for the president to
- 2:00:19Speaker 16: hold a classified briefing with the so-called Gang of Eight
- 2:00:21Speaker 16: lawmakers And then Americans.
- 2:00:23Speaker 24: Americans need to know how and when this war will
- 2:00:26Speaker 24: truly end. They need to know what's the deal on
- 2:00:30Speaker 24: the Strait of Hormuz. which has caused gas prices to
- 2:00:33Speaker 24: go through the roof.
- 2:00:34Speaker 16: Prices for oil beginning to drop. Gas prices also seeing
- 2:00:37Speaker 16: a dip. ABC's Elizabeth Schulze is in Bridgeport, Alabama, and
- 2:00:41Speaker 16: says it could take longer for prices at the pump
- 2:00:43Speaker 16: to stabilize.
- 2:00:44Speaker 28: The national average right at $ 4 a gallon, and GasBuddy
- 2:00:48Speaker 28: does expect that number could go down to $ 3. 75 by
- 2:00:51Speaker 28: the 4th of July if shipping does start to pick
- 2:00:54Speaker 28: up in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. There are
- 2:00:56Speaker 28: still some big ifs there. One is that shipping companies
- 2:00:59Speaker 28: are still waiting for clarity on this deal, with the
- 2:01:01Speaker 28: ceasefire potentially expiring in 60 days.
- 2:01:04Speaker 16: The FBI announcing five people have been arrested in a
- 2:01:07Speaker 16: failed plot to attack UFC matches at the White House
- 2:01:10Speaker 16: last weekend. Sources tell ABC News the alleged plot involved
- 2:01:13Speaker 16: using drones packed with explosives. Authorities say nearly two dozen
- 2:01:17Speaker 16: people used signal chat to talk. You're listening to ABC News.
- 2:01:27Speaker 7: And now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: Well, hidey-ho, it's 6.05. Welcome to a Tuesday evening. It's
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: 76 degrees. What beautiful weather we've had yesterday and today.
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: Just perfect temperature-wise, humidity-wise for this middle of June. It's
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: going quick, isn't it, June? Middle of June already? Son
- 2:01:49Speaker 1: of a gun. With you till 7 tonight, 330-729-9977 is
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: our top secret number. If you want to conversate, 330-729-9977.
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: All right, that's the number. It's unlisted, so keep it
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: to yourself. 330-729-9977, and you're on air. I want to
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: ask a.
- 2:02:11Speaker 20: Question of you guys when you say this about Israel
- 2:02:14Speaker 20: and the United States and Donald Trump in particular. What
- 2:02:19Speaker 20: in the world could they.
- 2:02:21Speaker 12: Have said to Donald Trump to make him.
- 2:02:24Speaker 20: Go over there and attack Iran?
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: I have no idea, but he did a reversal of
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: himself when he's talked about getting involved in regime change
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: and conflicts in the Middle East, just as he did
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: on the Epstein files. They were dramatic reversals. that disappointed
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: a lot of his base.
- 2:02:46Speaker 20: No, no, they weren't.
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: Yes, they were.
- 2:02:48Speaker 12: No, they weren't.
- 2:02:49Speaker 20: And I'm going to tell you why they weren't.
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: Okay, I'm all ears.
- 2:02:54Speaker 20: Okay, almost those files could not be released because the
- 2:02:59Speaker 20: victim said they didn't want them released. And that was
- 2:03:04Speaker 20: the big thing.
- 2:03:04Speaker 14: Now they have to.
- 2:03:05Speaker 20: Go through and they have to pick apart One file
- 2:03:09Speaker 20: from another until they know what they.
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: Can and what they can't. So do you believe those
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: victims are entitled to justice?
- 2:03:18Speaker 12: It has nothing to do with this.
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: Okay, okay. So you say it has nothing to do
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: with this. This is nonsense. And here's why it's nonsense.
- 2:03:28Speaker 20: Why is it nonsense?
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: I'm going to explain it to you. There are victims here,
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: many of whom have gone public, that were basically sexually
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: abused as children. This is what we're talking about here.
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: And are you seeing anybody arrested or going to jail
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: or on trial for it in the United States?
- 2:03:46Speaker 20: Not too many.
- 2:03:47Speaker 11: No, no, no.
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: Not any. When you say not too many, there's been none.
- 2:03:52Speaker 20: That's not true.
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: Well, tell me who went to trial.
- 2:03:56Speaker 20: Then some of them didn't have to go to trial
- 2:03:58Speaker 20: because they were removed from their position.
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: I don't care. And they're awaiting court cases. Who went
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: to jail? I'm not talking civil lawsuits. Who in this country,
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: who in the Justice Department or in any state issue
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: has been prosecuted for sexually engaging in sex acts with minors?
- 2:04:23Speaker 6: Who?
- 2:04:24Speaker 8: Who?
- 2:04:26Speaker 20: What did they do with the prince?
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: That's in England.
- 2:04:31Speaker 10: That's not the point.
- 2:04:32Speaker 9: No, it is.
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. He didn't go to jail either.
- 2:04:36Speaker 14: No, he sure didn't.
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: But the royalty over there relieved him of his duties,
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: but he wasn't put on trial.
- 2:04:44Speaker 20: No, he wasn't, but..
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, but..
- 2:04:49Speaker 12: He's sitting there waiting for the trial to come.
- 2:04:54Speaker 14: Really?
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: When is that trial going to happen? When is that
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: trial scheduled?
- 2:05:00Speaker 20: It's not scheduled yet.
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 2:05:03Speaker 3: You know why?
- 2:05:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:05:04Speaker 20: Because you have too many outliers. You want to be
- 2:05:07Speaker 20: just right all the time, but the outliers are there.
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: No, you're making excuses. I want you to hear me
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: for a second.
- 2:05:14Speaker 14: That's not an excuse.
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: Yes, it is an excuse.
- 2:05:17Speaker 20: Ask the lawyer when he comes in.
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: I am saying to you directly. This was an intelligence
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: operation that was using minor girls to engage in sexual
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: activity with adult growing men. And I don't give a damn,
- 2:05:34Speaker 1: and I want to make this clear to you, if
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: they're Republicans, Democrats, Bill Gates, or anybody else, if you're
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: responsible for having sex with them, you should be on
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: trial immediately. in the judicial system. I'm not talking about
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: suing Epstein's estate and getting a chunk of money. I'm
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: talking about the criminal... Well, that's all that's happened because
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: there's been no criminal cases.
- 2:05:57Speaker 20: Well, that's all that you see happening at this moment
- 2:06:00Speaker 20: because there's too many things.
- 2:06:02Speaker 14: That have to be overturned.
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: How long ago did this..
- 2:06:04Speaker 14: You're not listening.
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: Okay, so why don't you tell me... Ask the lawyer
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: when he comes in. Forget the lawyers. I'm asking you.
- 2:06:09Speaker 1: When are the cases coming?
- 2:06:12Speaker 20: I don't know because I'm not a lawyer.
- 2:06:14Speaker 1: Okay, I'll answer your question. I'll answer your question. There
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: are none. There are absolutely no criminal cases that have
- 2:06:23Speaker 1: taken place and are taking place. Period.
- 2:06:26Speaker 20: Choose to believe what you want.
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: You tell me where they are. I'm telling you they're
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: going to get away with it.
- 2:06:36Speaker 20: You rejected what I just.
- 2:06:38Speaker 10: Told you, Ron.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: Because it's nonsense.
- 2:06:40Speaker 20: There's too many outliers that they have to solve before
- 2:06:44Speaker 20: they can. They can't take people to court if one
- 2:06:49Speaker 20: person doesn't want to be identified. If two people, ten people, you.
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: Can't do it. Of all the girls that have come
- 2:06:59Speaker 1: forced publicly, have any of those people been taken to
- 2:07:03Speaker 1: court and convicted that were engaged in that activity?
- 2:07:06Speaker 20: And like I said, I don't know if I don't
- 2:07:09Speaker 20: think so, but I'm telling you they can't.
- 2:07:11Speaker 12: Just do it.
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: Well, I'm here to tell you, listen, I don't care whether..
- 2:07:16Speaker 12: I think that should be taken out and shot, Ron.
- 2:07:18Speaker 1: I don't care whether you like or dislike Trump or
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: make excuses for him.
- 2:07:22Speaker 20: It has nothing to do with Trump.
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it does. It has everything to do..
- 2:07:26Speaker 20: It has to do with the law.
- 2:07:27Speaker 1: It does not.
- 2:07:28Speaker 20: Once again.
- 2:07:29Speaker 1: It has to do with the Justice Department.
- 2:07:31Speaker 12: Then why..
- 2:07:32Speaker 20: If it wasn't due to the law..
- 2:07:34Speaker 12: Then tell me how in.
- 2:07:35Speaker 20: The world that you're going to take them to court
- 2:07:40Speaker 20: and convict them and send them to jail if it has.
- 2:07:44Speaker 12: Nothing to do with the law.
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: Everything has to.
- 2:07:46Speaker 14: Do with the law.
- 2:07:47Speaker 1: Did Trump run on releasing the Epstein files?
- 2:07:53Speaker 20: I don't care.
- 2:07:54Speaker 12: He ran on a lot of stuff.
- 2:07:56Speaker 20: When he gets in there, he can't just..
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: And did he then reverse himself? Did he mysteriously reverse
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: himself when he said one day..
- 2:08:03Speaker 20: No, he doesn't reverse anything until the end of his presidency.
- 2:08:07Speaker 20: That's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: Boy, you make excuses for him. You know what? Here's
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: my problem. I voted for Trump. I'd vote for him
- 2:08:16Speaker 1: again overall. I think he's doing a good job. But
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: if you don't think for a minute that he disappointed
- 2:08:22Speaker 1: people on his reversal on where he stood on Epstein
- 2:08:24Speaker 1: during the campaign, in addition to his total reversal on
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: regime change wars in the Middle East. and you don't
- 2:08:32Speaker 1: ask yourself the question, why did that happen, then you're
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: sticking your head in the sand because he reversed him
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: on both of those.
- 2:08:38Speaker 12: I'm not sticking my head in the sand that you
- 2:08:40Speaker 12: don't listen.
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: I'm listening.
- 2:08:41Speaker 20: I told you, I don't.
- 2:08:42Speaker 29: Think he doesn't intend to have those people go to trial.
- 2:08:50Speaker 29: You can't just not pay attention to the victims that
- 2:08:55Speaker 29: don't want to be identified.
- 2:08:57Speaker 20: You can't do it. So what do you want to do?
- 2:09:00Speaker 12: You think that that's fine, they should be able to
- 2:09:03Speaker 12: do it?
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: Yeah, the victims can be unidentified. And incidentally, I go
- 2:09:07Speaker 1: back to you once again, get it through your thick skull.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: There's plenty of victims that have come forth. Have you
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: not seen them? And identified themselves. Are there any cases
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: involving them? Yes or no? I'm asking you specifically. I'm
- 2:09:25Speaker 1: asking you specifically. I'm saying because.
- 2:09:28Speaker 20: You are making excuses.
- 2:09:29Speaker 29: You are making excuses.
- 2:09:41Speaker 14: Well, that's the law. Do what it does.
- 2:09:44Speaker 1: Well, where's the justice for the victims? Well, no.
- 2:09:49Speaker 12: What's so funny?
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: Do you think a 14-year-old girl being sexually abused, let's say,
- 2:09:55Speaker 1: by Prince Andrew is acceptable?
- 2:09:58Speaker 29: No, it's not.
- 2:09:59Speaker 12: Why would you say something stupid like that?
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: Because we're, we're, we're, well, then where's the criminal case?
- 2:10:06Speaker 1: Then where is it?
- 2:10:07Speaker 14: You have to wait, Ron.
- 2:10:09Speaker 12: You have to wait.
- 2:10:10Speaker 20: Until all of it.
- 2:10:12Speaker 1: Oh, for God's sakes. You, you, you are just an
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: excuse maker. Honest to God.
- 2:10:17Speaker 20: I didn't make no excuse.
- 2:10:18Speaker 29: I think they should be taken out.
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. How long are you supposed
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: to wait? Another 10 years?
- 2:10:24Speaker 20: No, it's been how long since the first dump happened?
- 2:10:29Speaker 1: Yippee, years and years and years. These were 14-year-old girls
- 2:10:33Speaker 1: at the time. They're now 24, 25 and older. It's
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: been a decade.
- 2:10:40Speaker 29: When the files came out, I'm here with a friend of.
- 2:10:44Speaker 12: Yours, by the way. Dave Saunders said to tell you hello.
- 2:10:52Speaker 1: Who did?
- 2:10:52Speaker 29: But anyway, Dave Johnson.
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: Oh, Dave Johnson. Okay. But no, no, I do not
- 2:10:59Speaker 1: agree with this.
- 2:10:59Speaker 14: How the hell are you, Ron?
- 2:11:01Speaker 6: You troublemaker? How are you?
- 2:11:03Speaker 1: Dave, I'm doing well, but I'm in a big argument
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: with that guy sitting there, and I'm telling you what,
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: I'm going to arm wrestle him when this is done,
- 2:11:10Speaker 1: and it's going to get ugly.
- 2:11:11Speaker 14: We're eating sushi.
- 2:11:14Speaker 12: We don't have time for this. What do you mean
- 2:11:15Speaker 12: you're eating sushi?
- 2:11:16Speaker 14: I miss you, man. I've got to get back on
- 2:11:18Speaker 14: your program.
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: All right. Well, you come on back sometime. I have
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: no problem with that, David.
- 2:11:23Speaker 6: All right.
- 2:11:24Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 2:11:25Speaker 12: Anyway, listen, I wanted to tell you, first of all.
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: Why are you eating sushi?
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: Stop.
- 2:11:31Speaker 12: I don't eat sushi. I'm saying that because we're.
- 2:11:37Speaker 20: In an upper crust.
- 2:11:38Speaker 12: You know that.
- 2:11:39Speaker 26: Not him.
- 2:11:40Speaker 20: But anyway, anyway, check it out. Ron, you have to listen.
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: I don't have to listen.
- 2:11:50Speaker 12: We are not in that.
- 2:11:51Speaker 20: War because of Israel.
- 2:11:53Speaker 12: We're in the war because.
- 2:11:55Speaker 29: Iran said in a form that they had so much
- 2:12:02Speaker 29: nuclear fission material.
- 2:12:05Speaker 15: And if they had.
- 2:12:06Speaker 29: Got there, which we have been told by, no doubt
- 2:12:10Speaker 29: about it, Israel did tell us that before that they
- 2:12:13Speaker 29: were on their way to it, blah, blah, blah. Yes,
- 2:12:17Speaker 29: that's one way you can say.
- 2:12:19Speaker 1: We were involved with Israel. So what about our own
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: intelligence department, which said that isn't true?
- 2:12:27Speaker 12: Well, I can't explain that because they said they did.
- 2:12:31Speaker 20: Well, there you go.
- 2:12:34Speaker 1: But our own intelligence department said that isn't true. And
- 2:12:37Speaker 1: do you remember that bunker buster where it's all buried underground?
- 2:12:40Speaker 1: I thought that was the end of it. And frankly,
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: I do think it's the end of it. It's buried
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: deep underground. You know, the bomb that went right down
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: the tunnel and took care of it. That's the end
- 2:12:49Speaker 1: of it.
- 2:12:50Speaker 10: Okay.
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: Yeah. And what now they say, oh, we want the dust.
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: Let's dig on down there and try to recover it,
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: which is ridiculous.
- 2:12:59Speaker 20: Why is it ridiculous?
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: Because did you see the explosion? Did you see what happened?
- 2:13:05Speaker 1: I mean, come on. You're going to drill down into
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: that mountain, and who's going to pay for all of
- 2:13:11Speaker 1: that and go down and get it? They're not going
- 2:13:13Speaker 1: to go down and get it.
- 2:13:14Speaker 14: That was the whole point.
- 2:13:16Speaker 12: We would have been in a hell of a fix.
- 2:13:18Speaker 29: Had they come up and produced a bomb.
- 2:13:23Speaker 20: We would have been in a hell of a fit.
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: Really? How so?
- 2:13:25Speaker 20: I'm telling you, it would have been worse than the
- 2:13:28Speaker 20: straight-up hard moves.
- 2:13:30Speaker 1: Well, I tell you what, we'll see what the outcome
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: is of the deal.
- 2:13:34Speaker 20: Yes, sir, we will.
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: I've had enough of you.
- 2:13:36Speaker 12: Let the law take care of Epstein-Fowler.
- 2:13:38Speaker 14: They will.
- 2:13:39Speaker 1: I've had enough of your excuses.
- 2:13:41Speaker 26: I'm not excused.
- 2:13:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:13:43Speaker 12: And that has nothing to do with Trump.
- 2:13:46Speaker 1: It has to do with the law. You know what?
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: When will these victims get justice?
- 2:13:53Speaker 12: As soon as they get enough of the evidence together
- 2:13:57Speaker 12: to make sure these other people get arrested.
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: I'm going to make a prediction to you. You will
- 2:14:03Speaker 1: never see anybody go to jail over this. That's my
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: prediction to you right now. You're right, because I don't know.
- 2:14:10Speaker 12: What the statute of limitations is.
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: So if I'm right, then, the adult men that sexually
- 2:14:16Speaker 1: abused those children got away with it because there's a
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: double standard of justice. Because they're either influential political people
- 2:14:24Speaker 1: or rich people. Do you support that?
- 2:14:27Speaker 12: No, I don't support that.
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: Well, that's what's happening. Well, that's what's happening.
- 2:14:33Speaker 29: We're going to take Bill Clinton out and shoot him.
- 2:14:35Speaker 1: I'm not saying Bill Clinton did or didn't do it.
- 2:14:38Speaker 1: But the reality is it should be looked at. Absolutely.
- 2:14:44Speaker 20: I totally agree.
- 2:14:46Speaker 12: But I'm telling you, they can't.
- 2:14:49Speaker 29: Just do it until they have all the evidence, one,
- 2:14:53Speaker 29: and they have number two.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: You disgust me.
- 2:14:56Speaker 29: Just because somebody said it in a file doesn't make
- 2:14:58Speaker 29: it true.
- 2:14:59Speaker 1: You disgust me today.
- 2:15:00Speaker 20: You disgust me.
- 2:15:02Speaker 12: They're getting scared all the time and going back.
- 2:15:06Speaker 20: On your beliefs.
- 2:15:07Speaker 1: No, it's not my beliefs.
- 2:15:08Speaker 6: Listen.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: Listen.
- 2:15:10Speaker 1: Trump reversed himself, and you know it but won't admit
- 2:15:14Speaker 1: to it. He reversed himself on regime change. No, he didn't.
- 2:15:19Speaker 15: He reversed.
- 2:15:21Speaker 1: Himself. He reversed himself on Epstein, and he reversed himself
- 2:15:27Speaker 1: on regime change in the Middle East.
- 2:15:31Speaker 26: All right, Ron.
- 2:15:32Speaker 20: I still love you, man.
- 2:15:34Speaker 1: And I still love you, too. Thank you. You're on
- 2:15:36Speaker 1: the air.
- 2:15:38Speaker 30: Ron, Billy Goat. Hey, I wanted to, I appreciate the
- 2:15:41Speaker 30: kind words after I got off the phone Wednesday.
- 2:15:44Speaker 14: I really appreciate it. It means a lot.
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: Did you have your hernia dealt with? No.
- 2:15:48Speaker 30: July 14th is my scheduled surgery. They're still doing their thing,
- 2:15:54Speaker 30: but that is my.
- 2:15:55Speaker 14: Scheduled date for the surgery.
- 2:15:56Speaker 30: So I got a little under a month to go now.
- 2:15:58Speaker 6: Jeez.
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: Okay. I mean, I'll make sure I say a prayer
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: for you.
- 2:16:04Speaker 6: Well, I appreciate it.
- 2:16:06Speaker 30: And, you know, catching all that nice go back and forth,
- 2:16:10Speaker 30: quite frankly, waiting on the bureaucracy, you might be dead
- 2:16:13Speaker 30: before any of that gets solved, quite frankly, because that's
- 2:16:16Speaker 30: about how much I really, you know.
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: You're right.
- 2:16:19Speaker 30: And quite frankly, you know what? No matter if Trump
- 2:16:23Speaker 30: reversed himself or somebody.
- 2:16:26Speaker 1: 570 WKBN. And your fearless leader, Ron Verbier, on the air.
- 2:16:32Speaker 3: You're on the air.
- 2:16:35Speaker 26: Yeah, hi, Ron. Please don't yell at me. You've been
- 2:16:38Speaker 26: yelling at a lot.
- 2:16:39Speaker 15: Of people today.
- 2:16:39Speaker 10: Well, they got it coming.
- 2:16:44Speaker 14: Oh, okay.
- 2:16:44Speaker 26: Well, maybe I will, too. So many, let's see, many
- 2:16:51Speaker 26: weeks ago when we were talking about Epstein, and sometimes
- 2:16:55Speaker 26: what I like to do is when you mention things,
- 2:17:00Speaker 26: and I don't want to say necessarily fact-check things, But
- 2:17:03Speaker 26: I check my phone, I Google AI to find out
- 2:17:07Speaker 26: more information about what I hear from the people on
- 2:17:12Speaker 26: the radio, including you. And I just want to say
- 2:17:17Speaker 26: that from months ago, I mean, there is the claim
- 2:17:24Speaker 26: that Trump campaigned on releasing the Epstein files has frequently
- 2:17:29Speaker 26: been repeated by critics of the president. And despite viral
- 2:17:34Speaker 26: posts and opinion articles from the left, commentators and politicians,
- 2:17:41Speaker 26: as Trump having to pledge to release the Epstein client list,
- 2:17:45Speaker 26: the president never mentioned the issue in any major... campaign speech, rally,
- 2:17:52Speaker 26: or policy announcement before the 2024 election. Now, Chuck Schumer
- 2:17:58Speaker 26: said that he did, but he really hadn't. Now, during
- 2:18:01Speaker 26: a podcast interview, he said he would probably be open
- 2:18:06Speaker 26: to releasing the Epstein-related documents. But it was the Democrats
- 2:18:11Speaker 26: that pushed that narrative that he said that he would
- 2:18:16Speaker 26: do it and that he campaigned on it. He did not.
- 2:18:19Speaker 26: But he did decide after getting pressure from both Democrats
- 2:18:25Speaker 26: and Republicans, he signed legislation compelling the Department of Justice
- 2:18:32Speaker 26: to make the Epstein files public. I don't know what
- 2:18:35Speaker 26: you want the guy to do. besides go in there
- 2:18:39Speaker 26: and dig them out himself. So what they did is,
- 2:18:42Speaker 26: following the legislation, the DOJ released millions of pages of documents,
- 2:18:47Speaker 26: flight logs, FBI interview summaries, multiple references to Trump, social circle.
- 2:18:56Speaker 26: I mean, even though he said that he didn't do
- 2:18:58Speaker 26: any wrongdoing. But the fact is, he did not make
- 2:19:02Speaker 26: the Epstein files a core, prioritized platform of his 2024
- 2:19:07Speaker 26: presidential campaign. So he did express openness. So I just
- 2:19:11Speaker 26: wanted to say that, because I know you've said that
- 2:19:16Speaker 26: a lot.
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: Well, not only do I say that, I stand by that,
- 2:19:21Speaker 1: because that is exactly what he stood for, and that
- 2:19:25Speaker 1: is exactly where things were heading when Pam Bonney said,
- 2:19:28Speaker 1: I have the files, they're on my desk, we're going
- 2:19:31Speaker 1: to release all of this stuff.
- 2:19:32Speaker 26: Yeah, but that's after he was president.
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: I understand that, but I'm also talking about when he
- 2:19:37Speaker 1: was running. It was one of his platforms that he
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: talked about.
- 2:19:41Speaker 26: AI and Google said differently.
- 2:19:44Speaker 1: Well, AI and Google are wrong on that because this isn't...
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: history from 20 years ago. We were around during that
- 2:19:54Speaker 1: time when he was talking about the Epstein files.
- 2:19:57Speaker 26: So it's really easy to go through all of his
- 2:20:00Speaker 26: campaign speeches, do his rallies, his campaign speeches.
- 2:20:05Speaker 1: Well, I tell you what, let me back up with you.
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: What do you think, what was his stand on the
- 2:20:11Speaker 1: Epstein files when he was running?
- 2:20:15Speaker 26: When he was running during a podcast interview, somebody asked him,
- 2:20:20Speaker 26: And he said he would be open to releasing the
- 2:20:26Speaker 26: Epstein files. But it was, supposedly, it was a July
- 2:20:30Speaker 26: 29th speech by Chuck Schumer.
- 2:20:33Speaker 1: Okay, no, wait a second. Don't read to me. He
- 2:20:37Speaker 1: said he would be open to releasing them. Now, he
- 2:20:39Speaker 1: released some of them, but he hasn't released all of them,
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: has he?
- 2:20:44Speaker 26: I don't know.
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: I don't know that anybody, he's released. Let me back
- 2:20:52Speaker 1: up with you. Do you think these girls deserve justice?
- 2:20:56Speaker 1: Do you think the 14-year-old girls that were raped by
- 2:20:59Speaker 1: these guys deserve justice?
- 2:21:01Speaker 12: Well, yes, I do.
- 2:21:02Speaker 26: But I do believe that many of them may have
- 2:21:05Speaker 26: signed their rights away when they accepted the money. Okay?
- 2:21:09Speaker 10: That happens all the time.
- 2:21:12Speaker 1: No. They can't sign their rights away. That's a civil case.
- 2:21:15Speaker 1: What rights would they sign away?
- 2:21:17Speaker 14: Stand by.
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: Stand by. News Radio 570.
- 2:21:22Speaker 10: WKVKVN.
- 2:21:22Speaker 8: 634.
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: 76 degrees. Tuesday, June 16th. We're on verb till 7
- 2:21:26Speaker 1: at 7.
- 2:21:26Speaker 14: Guardians pregame.
- 2:21:27Speaker 1: 730 first pitch. You're on News Radio 570.
- 2:21:29Speaker 6: WKVN.
- 2:21:39Speaker 1: I think I was talking to you, wasn't I?
- 2:21:41Speaker 26: Yeah, you were talking to me.
- 2:21:44Speaker 1: Now, this is, I mean, this is simple. And I
- 2:21:48Speaker 1: want to make this perfectly clear, as Tricky Dick Nixon
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: used to say. It doesn't matter if I voted for Trump.
- 2:21:58Speaker 1: I think he's done a good job. But I will
- 2:22:00Speaker 1: sit here and I will say time and time again,
- 2:22:03Speaker 1: Trump did two things that I'm not part of a
- 2:22:06Speaker 1: cult that says everything he does, I'm OK with. OK,
- 2:22:10Speaker 1: just hang on. I'm not part of that. He did
- 2:22:14Speaker 1: a reversal. This whole situation with Iran was a big mistake.
- 2:22:18Speaker 1: He reversed his own position. on this, and I think
- 2:22:21Speaker 1: he did so because of Israel. I am the bunker buster,
- 2:22:26Speaker 1: mission complete, boom, the stuff is down there, and you're
- 2:22:30Speaker 1: not going to go down and get it. So let
- 2:22:32Speaker 1: me just start with that when it comes to this
- 2:22:34Speaker 1: Israel situation. I will be very interested in seeing what
- 2:22:38Speaker 1: this deal is when it's done and signed off and
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: what was agreed to. I'm troubled by that we don't
- 2:22:46Speaker 1: have any of the information yet. It hasn't been made
- 2:22:48Speaker 1: public enough that we keep hearing there's a deal, there's
- 2:22:51Speaker 1: a deal, and it's been electrically signed off. But I
- 2:22:56Speaker 1: want to know what is the deal, and this is–
- 2:23:00Speaker 1: our business. You know, Schumer's asking as a Democrat, but
- 2:23:03Speaker 1: I want to know as a citizen, what's fact, what's fiction?
- 2:23:07Speaker 1: I want to know, is Marjorie Taylor Greene, is it
- 2:23:10Speaker 1: fact or fiction? I don't know, because I don't think
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: any of these people know. Are we going to give
- 2:23:14Speaker 1: them $ 300 billion to rebuild their country of our tax dollars?
- 2:23:17Speaker 1: I certainly hope that's BS. Are we going to release
- 2:23:21Speaker 1: some of their money? Maybe we are if they meet
- 2:23:24Speaker 1: certain conditions. I don't have a problem with that. That's
- 2:23:28Speaker 1: cool if they meet these certain conditions. But what is
- 2:23:32Speaker 1: the deal? What's the ramifications? Will a straight be open?
- 2:23:35Speaker 1: And does that mean there won't be any tariffs? I
- 2:23:39Speaker 1: want to see where this all goes. That's all I'm
- 2:23:44Speaker 1: interested in.
- 2:23:46Speaker 26: Well, I was getting a little bored with all the
- 2:23:50Speaker 26: financial stuff because I know you have two financial shows.
- 2:23:54Speaker 26: So I was getting a little bored with that. So
- 2:23:56Speaker 26: I decided to turn on the fives. And the five
- 2:24:01Speaker 26: actually had J.D. Vance as one of the five. They
- 2:24:05Speaker 26: asked him the questions about that. First off, and I
- 2:24:10Speaker 26: knew he said on Just Eat Waters, absolutely, positively, zero
- 2:24:15Speaker 26: tax dollars, not the $ 300. billion or million or whatever
- 2:24:20Speaker 26: none of that is tax money is is there's zero
- 2:24:24Speaker 26: u.s tax dollars going to iran that's the first thing
- 2:24:28Speaker 26: good second thing is because they had to work with
- 2:24:32Speaker 26: and i can't remember qatar and one of the other
- 2:24:35Speaker 26: pakistan i don't know who were also the go-betweens this
- 2:24:39Speaker 26: is kind of the way they wanted to do it
- 2:24:44Speaker 26: all right don't ask me why i'm wasn't part of
- 2:24:46Speaker 26: it but That was what he said. And Trump had
- 2:24:50Speaker 26: said that, you know, we'll we'll. In fact, they asked
- 2:24:56Speaker 26: him today and he says, well, you know, maybe I'll
- 2:24:59Speaker 26: have a press conference and I'll.
- 2:25:01Speaker 3: Read it word for word.
- 2:25:03Speaker 26: Verbatim so that there are no questions. So the media
- 2:25:09Speaker 26: doesn't spin it or lie about it or whatever. And
- 2:25:14Speaker 26: that's what they're worried. He said, I don't understand.
- 2:25:17Speaker 14: There's leaks.
- 2:25:19Speaker 26: There's from this newspaper. All these newspapers in the Middle
- 2:25:23Speaker 26: East act like they know what's going on. None of
- 2:25:26Speaker 26: them do.
- 2:25:27Speaker 1: All right?
- 2:25:28Speaker 26: So they're kind of keeping it under wraps so that
- 2:25:31Speaker 26: we don't have this, you know, it's going to be this,
- 2:25:34Speaker 26: it's going to be that. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a
- 2:25:37Speaker 26: lot like Tucker and a lot like some of these
- 2:25:39Speaker 26: other ones who are who kind of like bomb throwers anymore, okay?
- 2:25:44Speaker 26: They throw out these things, they get their attention, they
- 2:25:48Speaker 26: get their clicks, they get that, and they maybe have
- 2:25:51Speaker 26: to rein it in later when it's not.
- 2:25:54Speaker 1: Well, I don't think they know either.
- 2:25:55Speaker 26: That's how they have to make money now.
- 2:25:57Speaker 1: I don't know that's how they make money. She's just doing...
- 2:26:01Speaker 1: expressing her opinion on it based on what she's heard. Okay,
- 2:26:06Speaker 1: I don't know if she has any inside information that
- 2:26:09Speaker 1: she knows.
- 2:26:10Speaker 26: Do you really think that these people are giving Marjorie
- 2:26:15Speaker 26: Taylor Greene the inside scoop?
- 2:26:18Speaker 1: I don't know. If you listen to her commentary today,
- 2:26:21Speaker 1: as I did, She said, if that's accurate or not,
- 2:26:25Speaker 1: I hope J.D. Vance is right. I don't know. Everybody
- 2:26:28Speaker 1: that's talking about this, the only people that I'm listening
- 2:26:32Speaker 1: to that actually have the facts would be J.D. Vance
- 2:26:36Speaker 1: and Iran. They're the two parties involved in it. Right.
- 2:26:41Speaker 1: If you get a chance.
- 2:26:43Speaker 26: Well, he was on, Tucker, I get this, not to
- 2:26:47Speaker 26: Jesse Walters last night, but he was on with the Five,
- 2:26:50Speaker 26: and I don't know, maybe in the rerun, I know
- 2:26:52Speaker 26: it comes on kind of late. Maybe, what is it?
- 2:26:57Speaker 1: Don't you think you have a right to know, as
- 2:26:59Speaker 1: an American, what is this agreement? I mean, we should
- 2:27:03Speaker 1: all know the details. When's that going to come out?
- 2:27:06Speaker 1: That's all I'm asking.
- 2:27:08Speaker 26: Exactly. And I also believe, though, that So many things
- 2:27:12Speaker 26: come out. They get leaked. They cause problems. They are
- 2:27:16Speaker 26: not accurate. And they will do anything to... There's no
- 2:27:25Speaker 26: way a Democrat is ever going to say, yeah, that's
- 2:27:29Speaker 26: a good deal. Okay? None of them are ever going
- 2:27:32Speaker 26: to say that. There's always going to be some kind
- 2:27:34Speaker 26: of problem. And what J.D. was talking about is that... yeah,
- 2:27:41Speaker 26: they'll say, oh, they get this and they get that.
- 2:27:43Speaker 26: It's like Obama. Well, not exactly. They have to meet
- 2:27:48Speaker 26: all these criteria. They step out of line, they don't
- 2:27:51Speaker 26: get anything. That $ 300, 000 is from sanctions, you know, where
- 2:27:57Speaker 26: they did sanctions. And it's not even..
- 2:28:00Speaker 6: Uh..
- 2:28:01Speaker 26: The united state but also the other other arab countries
- 2:28:06Speaker 26: okay they are kind of all involved with this as
- 2:28:11Speaker 26: well and i think everybody wants this to work nobody
- 2:28:16Speaker 26: want it all packed to do with uh... lebanon and
- 2:28:20Speaker 26: have a lot okay and they're trying to stop that
- 2:28:24Speaker 26: but right now you know he said they don't have
- 2:28:28Speaker 26: the money to be, you know, funding Hezbollah, and they
- 2:28:35Speaker 26: don't have the Navy, they don't have an Air Force,
- 2:28:41Speaker 26: they step out of line, we can keep an eye
- 2:28:45Speaker 26: on them, and I believe it's going to end up
- 2:28:48Speaker 26: being a good thing in the long run.
- 2:28:51Speaker 1: All right, listen, I don't know what to make of it.
- 2:28:56Speaker 1: And just... Well, I've heard 30-something times that we got
- 2:29:01Speaker 1: a deal as close, a deal as close. I hope
- 2:29:04Speaker 1: that this deal comes through. I hope we can get
- 2:29:07Speaker 1: the hell out of there and we can get things
- 2:29:10Speaker 1: fixed economically. That's what I'm hoping for. Listen, I don't
- 2:29:16Speaker 1: know what..
- 2:29:16Speaker 26: If you listen to the business people, if you listen
- 2:29:20Speaker 26: to them, they're all..
- 2:29:21Speaker 1: They don't know what's in it either. All of these
- 2:29:25Speaker 1: people don't know.
- 2:29:26Speaker 26: They're thinking..
- 2:29:27Speaker 1: But, I mean, let's be realistic. They don't know. Iran
- 2:29:31Speaker 1: supposedly would know, and the administration would know. Chuck Schumer
- 2:29:36Speaker 1: doesn't know, and none of these other people. The market
- 2:29:40Speaker 1: and the business people... Okay. All I'm saying to you is...
- 2:29:45Speaker 1: The market reacts to the hope that there's a signed
- 2:29:49Speaker 1: deal that this thing is over. That's why the business
- 2:29:52Speaker 1: is going up and the market goes up and oil
- 2:29:54Speaker 1: prices are done. If it doesn't materialize, what will happen
- 2:29:59Speaker 1: to the market and the price of oil? The market
- 2:30:01Speaker 1: will come down and the barrel oil price will go
- 2:30:04Speaker 1: up because it's based on. the belief that there's a deal.
- 2:30:09Speaker 1: I hope there is a deal and we can get
- 2:30:12Speaker 1: the hell out of there and be done with it
- 2:30:14Speaker 1: and be done with this. This has been a disaster. Now, Obama,
- 2:30:20Speaker 1: I don't know what he knows or doesn't know. I mean,
- 2:30:23Speaker 1: he was a former president. I don't know that he
- 2:30:24Speaker 1: knows anything, but he, but you know, he's making a
- 2:30:27Speaker 1: claim that this deal won't be any better than the
- 2:30:29Speaker 1: one he did. And it could be worse.
- 2:30:32Speaker 26: Well, he still wants to be relevant. He still wants,
- 2:30:35Speaker 26: he doesn't want, anything i don't know that more successful
- 2:30:40Speaker 26: than what he did but obama's deal what they can
- 2:30:42Speaker 26: different obama's deal gave them uh... opportunity that they could
- 2:30:50Speaker 26: get a nuclear thing going within ten years okay that
- 2:30:57Speaker 26: absolutely not not obama buying bombs no pot no doing
- 2:31:01Speaker 26: that they're doing that and I think that his is different. But,
- 2:31:07Speaker 26: you know, Obama still wants to be relevant because there
- 2:31:12Speaker 26: aren't a whole lot of relevant Democrats right now, people
- 2:31:17Speaker 26: that you would believe would know what they're talking about. Oh,
- 2:31:21Speaker 26: and one other thing, just quickly back to the Epstein
- 2:31:24Speaker 26: and you, so while these people aren't going to jail,
- 2:31:26Speaker 26: did you by any chance watch Bill Clinton and Hillary
- 2:31:30Speaker 26: Clinton when they were deposed?
- 2:31:33Speaker 27: Yes.
- 2:31:33Speaker 26: And they were asking him about Epstein. Well, if anybody
- 2:31:38Speaker 26: should have had information, if anybody should have been looked
- 2:31:44Speaker 26: at hard, would have been those two. You flat out
- 2:31:50Speaker 26: ask Hillary about her relationship with Epstein. I don't remember
- 2:31:54Speaker 26: meeting him. Then they have to show her pictures where
- 2:31:56Speaker 26: there they are all together. You ask her about Ghislaine
- 2:32:01Speaker 26: going to her daughter's wedding. Oh, she was somebody's plus one.
- 2:32:05Speaker 26: I mean, this is all you will get. And Bill,
- 2:32:08Speaker 26: Bill is one step better than what Biden was. Well,
- 2:32:12Speaker 26: I don't recall. Well, I didn't. Oh, yeah, I guess
- 2:32:15Speaker 26: that is me in the picture. That's what you're going
- 2:32:18Speaker 26: to get. from all these people. And as far as..
- 2:32:22Speaker 1: Well, what do you expect? I mean, tell me, what
- 2:32:25Speaker 1: do you expect? Bill Clinton said, I didn't have sex
- 2:32:27Speaker 1: with that woman, with Monica Lewinsky. He clearly lied about that.
- 2:32:31Speaker 1: I'm saying to you, what do you expect? Both of
- 2:32:33Speaker 1: them are lawyers. Do you think that they're going to
- 2:32:35Speaker 1: come in front of the committee and say, well, you
- 2:32:38Speaker 1: got us now? Well, I mean, we..
- 2:32:39Speaker 6: Oh, no, never.
- 2:32:40Speaker 1: Okay, so..
- 2:32:41Speaker 26: And not any of the other... Not any of the
- 2:32:45Speaker 26: other ones.
- 2:32:46Speaker 1: Who can afford... Here's my problem with what you're saying.
- 2:32:50Speaker 1: Here's my problem with what Jeff was saying. Here's my
- 2:32:53Speaker 1: problem with the whole damn thing. I don't give a
- 2:32:58Speaker 1: damn about Trump, Biden, or any of these political people.
- 2:33:02Speaker 1: I don't care. What I care about is that this
- 2:33:07Speaker 1: took place in the first place. What I care about
- 2:33:09Speaker 1: is if this was the intelligence community, and this is
- 2:33:12Speaker 1: what you should care about, that had this take place
- 2:33:16Speaker 1: where you had adult men, politicians or influential men in
- 2:33:21Speaker 1: the world of business, engaging in sex with underage women.
- 2:33:26Speaker 1: That is what you should be concerned about. No, no, no.
- 2:33:31Speaker 1: I need you to be quiet for a minute.
- 2:33:34Speaker 26: And I'm concerned about what happened to Justin Bieber. And
- 2:33:37Speaker 26: I'm concerned about what they do in Hollywood.
- 2:33:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:33:40Speaker 26: And what they have done.
- 2:33:42Speaker 1: I'm going to get nowhere with you. You're not getting it.
- 2:33:46Speaker 1: You're not getting it because you keep interrupting. Who has
- 2:33:50Speaker 1: this information that can have influence over people to get
- 2:33:53Speaker 1: them to do things? With threat of exposing it. Is
- 2:33:57Speaker 1: that of concern to you? I'm not worried about Diddy
- 2:34:01Speaker 1: and what he's doing. Diddy actually went on trial. And
- 2:34:06Speaker 1: Diddy had to face a judicial system. You are just
- 2:34:09Speaker 1: there trying to... Go in a million directions without the
- 2:34:15Speaker 1: real direction. You should be concerned that the intelligence community
- 2:34:19Speaker 1: would launch an operation that had minor girls, people's daughters,
- 2:34:26Speaker 1: that would be engaging in sex with adult men that
- 2:34:30Speaker 1: should know better than it. You should be concerned.
- 2:34:33Speaker 26: I am concerned.
- 2:34:34Speaker 1: No, you're not. You are absolutely not.
- 2:34:37Speaker 26: And I couldn't find any.
- 2:34:39Speaker 1: All right. Then I tell you what. When's the trial
- 2:34:41Speaker 1: going to be?
- 2:34:44Speaker 26: Well, the trial would have been, but they killed him.
- 2:34:48Speaker 26: Epstein was there. He was in jail. He was getting
- 2:34:51Speaker 26: ready to go to trial.
- 2:34:53Speaker 1: When are any of the cases going to be launched
- 2:34:55Speaker 1: from the Department of Justice against the perpetrators, the men
- 2:35:00Speaker 1: that engaged, the men that aren't dead?
- 2:35:04Speaker 26: Before you can launch it, take them to trial.
- 2:35:07Speaker 1: How much longer do you think that's going to take?
- 2:35:12Speaker 26: I don't know. You mentioned Prince Andrew. Well, Virginia Dufresne
- 2:35:19Speaker 26: went after him right after Epstein died, the November after,
- 2:35:23Speaker 26: and she was lucky she had a photo. You see
- 2:35:26Speaker 26: what I'm saying?
- 2:35:27Speaker 1: Did he go on trial?
- 2:35:29Speaker 26: He denied her.
- 2:35:30Speaker 1: Did he go on trial?
- 2:35:32Speaker 26: No, but you know what? She took money from him.
- 2:35:35Speaker 26: She took money from him. She took money from the queen.
- 2:35:38Speaker 26: She got a settlement. She got bought off. She did
- 2:35:42Speaker 26: not take them to trial. If anybody could have taken
- 2:35:44Speaker 26: anybody to a trial, it would have been her. She
- 2:35:48Speaker 26: chose cash.
- 2:35:50Speaker 1: No.
- 2:35:51Speaker 26: That's not my decision. I'm sure she would have liked
- 2:35:54Speaker 26: to have seen, but she probably thought she didn't have
- 2:35:56Speaker 26: the money to hire the lawyers.
- 2:35:59Speaker 1: Boy, I'm going to tell you something. You do nothing
- 2:36:02Speaker 1: but make excuses.
- 2:36:04Speaker 10: Who am I making excuses for?
- 2:36:07Speaker 1: Because there's two different things between a civil case and
- 2:36:10Speaker 1: a criminal case. There's two different standards. Okay.
- 2:36:15Speaker 10: So you think there's a.
- 2:36:17Speaker 26: List of all these guys and they're not being taken
- 2:36:19Speaker 26: to trial. Is that what you're saying?
- 2:36:21Speaker 1: I'll tell you specifically what I'm saying if you'll let
- 2:36:23Speaker 1: me speak. I will specifically say to you what I'm saying.
- 2:36:28Speaker 1: I'm saying it's reprehensible that the intelligence community had an
- 2:36:31Speaker 1: operation that would involve minor children engaging in sex with
- 2:36:35Speaker 1: adult men who should know better.
- 2:36:37Speaker 26: You heard that. I heard you say that.
- 2:36:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:36:39Speaker 1: Well, Lynn, let me finish. What offends me is that
- 2:36:42Speaker 1: these men would engage in that activity. What offends me
- 2:36:45Speaker 1: is that justice is not taking place and I can
- 2:36:49Speaker 1: assure you will never take place. That there is a
- 2:36:52Speaker 1: double standard of justice and all of these people will
- 2:36:55Speaker 1: get away with it and the victims will never see
- 2:36:58Speaker 1: justice because of their political connections and or their wealth.
- 2:37:04Speaker 1: That is exactly what is happening. What you are seeing
- 2:37:08Speaker 1: is a double standard of justice, not delayed justice. No
- 2:37:12Speaker 1: one knows where the files are. Oh, we were going
- 2:37:15Speaker 1: to release everything. Now we didn't release everything. The Department
- 2:37:19Speaker 1: of Justice was going to bring criminal charges. We haven't
- 2:37:23Speaker 1: tried anybody criminally on any of this. on any of
- 2:37:27Speaker 1: this and we're not going to and the problem is,
- 2:37:30Speaker 1: it's a double standard of justice. I don't give a damn.
- 2:37:34Speaker 1: If Trump was involved in it, he should be charged
- 2:37:37Speaker 1: as well. Okay? It doesn't matter to me.
- 2:37:41Speaker 26: I don't think he was.
- 2:37:42Speaker 1: I don't care what you think. I'm saying to you,
- 2:37:45Speaker 1: if he was, he should be charged. I don't know
- 2:37:48Speaker 1: if he was or wasn't. If Clinton was, he should
- 2:37:51Speaker 1: be charged. But I'm telling you, you will not see it.
- 2:37:56Speaker 26: What if somebody, what if, to receive their payoff, to
- 2:38:02Speaker 26: receive their money, they signed a document that said... I
- 2:38:07Speaker 26: will not press charges.
- 2:38:10Speaker 1: It's not up to them.
- 2:38:11Speaker 26: It's easier for them than to go through that.
- 2:38:14Speaker 1: The prosecution can bring charges without you. You can refuse
- 2:38:20Speaker 1: to bring charges and the Department of Justice can still
- 2:38:23Speaker 1: bring the case. They determine the charges, not the..
- 2:38:27Speaker 26: Okay, well then these victims, they know who they are.
- 2:38:33Speaker 26: They know who the men are.
- 2:38:35Speaker 20: Okay.
- 2:38:36Speaker 26: Or they might have a subject. The thing, like I said,
- 2:38:39Speaker 26: about Virginia, she had a photo of the prince.
- 2:38:42Speaker 1: Well, supposedly there are plenty of them.
- 2:38:44Speaker 26: So why don't they just do that? Just ask them
- 2:38:47Speaker 26: to do it.
- 2:38:48Speaker 6: All right.
- 2:38:48Speaker 1: I think we're just going around it.
- 2:38:50Speaker 26: Maybe they don't want to go through that.
- 2:38:53Speaker 1: Well, there's a bunch of them who do who are
- 2:38:54Speaker 1: demanding words of justice. Have you not seen them? Are
- 2:38:57Speaker 1: you oblivious to all that whole group of them that
- 2:39:00Speaker 1: are out there that are saying where?
- 2:39:02Speaker 26: No, I'm not oblivious.
- 2:39:03Speaker 1: Well, then all of these women that have identified themselves
- 2:39:06Speaker 1: are saying, where is the justice? Do you think they're
- 2:39:10Speaker 1: entitled to it? We'll be back. Youngstown's News, Weather, and
- 2:39:16Speaker 1: Talk Station, 570 WKBN. All right, News Radio 570, Dodie Cummings,
- 2:39:46Speaker 1: and Ron Verb, 655. Got to go quick here.
- 2:39:50Speaker 10: You're on air.
- 2:39:51Speaker 1: You're on air.
- 2:39:53Speaker 20: Mr.
- 2:39:53Speaker 6: Verb, how are you?
- 2:39:54Speaker 19: It sounds like you're having a dilemma here at the
- 2:39:57Speaker 19: end of the day.
- 2:39:59Speaker 1: Not a dilemma. I'm just deeply troubled by people that
- 2:40:02Speaker 1: are making excuses over something that should be gotten to
- 2:40:05Speaker 1: the bottom.
- 2:40:06Speaker 19: I understand. What do we got here? Five minutes? Thanks
- 2:40:09Speaker 19: a lot, buddy.
- 2:40:10Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 2:40:11Speaker 19: I appreciate that. Five minutes. Yeah, not even five minutes.
- 2:40:14Speaker 19: But it's look over here, look over here, and Mr.
- 2:40:19Speaker 19: Trump will become the first president that probably made half
- 2:40:24Speaker 19: a trillion dollars in office. He's making... He's making more
- 2:40:29Speaker 19: money because look over here, look over there. Okay, you
- 2:40:34Speaker 19: know what I mean. All right, I just want you
- 2:40:36Speaker 19: to know that if you had invested.
- 2:40:38Speaker 1: $ 5, 000.
- 2:40:39Speaker 19: In 2009 in NVIDIA, you know what that would be
- 2:40:45Speaker 19: worth today?
- 2:40:45Speaker 1: In NVIDIA?
- 2:40:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:40:49Speaker 1: How much?
- 2:40:49Speaker 14: $ 2, 664, 278 today.
- 2:40:57Speaker 19: If you had invested, and I think at 09, you
- 2:41:01Speaker 19: had five grand hanging around.
- 2:41:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:41:06Speaker 6: Okay.
- 2:41:07Speaker 19: I just wanted to throw.
- 2:41:08Speaker 6: That out there.
- 2:41:09Speaker 19: In the beginning of your show, I was outside. I
- 2:41:11Speaker 19: had a headset on. I had to work outside. I
- 2:41:14Speaker 19: couldn't sit here and wait for you to get on
- 2:41:16Speaker 19: the phone with me because, anyway, I would never get
- 2:41:19Speaker 19: nothing done. I got a lot of things to do.
- 2:41:20Speaker 14: A lot of places to be.
- 2:41:22Speaker 3: Anyway..
- 2:41:24Speaker 19: I'm just telling you, I can't sit here all the
- 2:41:27Speaker 19: time and wait for you to pick up the phone. Anyway,
- 2:41:31Speaker 19: Netflix is up 43,000% since 2004. Amazon is up 2,000%
- 2:41:33Speaker 19: since 2010. Tesla is up 19,047% from November of 12.
- 2:41:51Speaker 19: And what is that? Shopify is up 3,249% since July
- 2:41:59Speaker 19: of 16. I, like a lot of people, have been
- 2:42:03Speaker 19: too conservative in my life, and I didn't invest a freaking,
- 2:42:07Speaker 19: I didn't, I'm sorry, I didn't.
- 2:42:08Speaker 6: Invest a dime.
- 2:42:10Speaker 1: Right, but I mean, in retrospect, I was making a
- 2:42:14Speaker 1: comparison between those and SpaceX, thinking, hey, listen, if you
- 2:42:18Speaker 1: buy it now and hang on to it, it could be.
- 2:42:20Speaker 19: The next one. How much is it for one.
- 2:42:26Speaker 3: Stock?
- 2:42:27Speaker 19: How much is it for one?
- 2:42:28Speaker 1: It's like a couple hundred dollars a share right now.
- 2:42:31Speaker 21: Well, guess what?
- 2:42:31Speaker 19: Most people can't afford that.
- 2:42:33Speaker 1: That's true.
- 2:42:33Speaker 19: You don't have money to afford that kind of stuff.
- 2:42:35Speaker 1: That's true, but I mean, if you do have money
- 2:42:38Speaker 1: and you've got... $ 20, 000 or something?
- 2:42:40Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, buy it, hang on to it, maybe
- 2:42:42Speaker 19: 10 years. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.

- 2:43:11Speaker 6: No.

- 2:43:16Speaker 19: Motley Fool in the Vindicator.
- 2:43:19Speaker 5: All right.
- 2:43:20Speaker 6: It's a Saturday, Sunday paper.
- 2:43:22Speaker 1: Thank you. Have a great evening.
- 2:43:24Speaker 15: You too.
- 2:43:24Speaker 1: Be back tomorrow.
- 2:43:31Speaker 11: From ABC News, I'm Dave Packer, a manhunt this hour
- 2:43:35Speaker 11: after shooting at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware. Law enforcement officials
- 2:43:39Speaker 11: say preliminary information indicates a hospital employee shot two other employees.
- 2:43:43Speaker 11: One shot in the neck and chest. Hospital employee Brian
- 2:43:46Speaker 11: Pfeffer heard the shots from the ER.
- 2:43:48Speaker 1: It was pretty scary. It was pretty intense.
- 2:43:52Speaker 17: My prayers are out with everyone because it's pretty scary.
- 2:43:55Speaker 5: I've never been a part of anything like that.
- 2:43:57Speaker 1: The hospital on lockdown.
- 2:43:59Speaker 11: David Karras with Wilmington Police.
- 2:44:01Speaker 4: We still have officers from a number of agencies that
- 2:44:03Speaker 4: are searching the building.
- 2:44:04Speaker 11: A plot thwarted by the FBI to use explosive drones
- 2:44:07Speaker 11: to target buildings near the White House during the UFC
- 2:44:09Speaker 11: match there on Sunday.
- 2:44:10Speaker 1: Secret Service Deputy Director Matthew Quinn.
- 2:44:13Speaker 13: Look, it was a serious threat. We take all threats
- 2:44:17Speaker 13: of a large nature. Very seriously, and we investigate them
- 2:44:21Speaker 13: until we can validate 100% that it's no longer a threat.
- 2:44:25Speaker 11: Five people in custody, one person's been charged. President Trump
- 2:44:28Speaker 11: in Europe continuing to tout his agreement with Iran.
- 2:44:31Speaker 31: President Trump today during a meeting with the Emir of
- 2:44:33Speaker 31: Qatar on the sidelines of the G7 World Leaders Summit
- 2:44:36Speaker 31: called the agreement between the U.S.
- 2:44:37Speaker 4: And Iran, quote, fair and good.
- 2:44:39Speaker 31: But he provided no new details of what's in the agreement,
- 2:44:42Speaker 31: nor provided any timeline on when the text would be released.
- 2:44:45Speaker 31: The president claimed that negotiations over Iran's nuclear program to
- 2:44:49Speaker 31: be addressed in this 60-day negotiating window will be, quote,
- 2:44:53Speaker 31: actually easier than getting to this point.
- 2:44:56Speaker 4: Karen Travers, ABC News, Geneva, Switzerland.
- 2:44:58Speaker 11: Inflation and the economy. Vice President J.D. Vance on The
- 2:45:01Speaker 11: View today saying things will get better.
- 2:45:02Speaker 1: We inherited an affordability problem. We're doing a lot to
- 2:45:06Speaker 1: make it better. It's going to take a little bit
- 2:45:07Speaker 1: of time. There's a lot more work to do.
- 2:45:09Speaker 17: But the president knows that a lot of Americans are struggling.
- 2:45:11Speaker 5: In fact, he ran on that.
- 2:45:13Speaker 11: A federal judge has struck down an Idaho law that
- 2:45:16Speaker 11: would have made it a criminal offense to use a
