- 0:00Speaker 1: Okay, here we go where the plays get broken down
- 0:03Speaker 1: and science gets denied The Bench Hour two of Off
- 0:07Speaker 1: the Bench Live from the Raisin Caine Studio.
- 0:54Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in oh t b our number
- 0:57Speaker 2: two here live from the Raisin Knes Studio.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Now here in just two weeks? Oh man, less than
- 1:06Speaker 3: two weeks? Oh my god? Are we gonna be a
- 1:08Speaker 3: media day in less than two weeks?
- 1:10Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:10Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Because all summer I was like, I'm not
- 1:12Speaker 5: gonna I'm not gonna be here for it.
- 1:14Speaker 6: Oh, I'm going to vacation next week and like Wednesday
- 1:22Speaker 6: because we got media days.
- 1:24Speaker 5: And then I think two weeks after that fall practice
- 1:26Speaker 5: starts and like beginning in August.
- 1:30Speaker 6: Man, I'm a homebody too, and I'm gonna be gone
- 1:33Speaker 6: for like eleven days or something like that.
- 1:37Speaker 4: That ain't me, bud it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Once we get to media day, it gets real for me.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Media Day that whole week, the twentieth or whatever. Come
- 1:50Speaker 2: back home for a couple of days. I think I'm
- 1:52Speaker 2: going back out to Chargers camp at the end of July.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Is your camp the day after we get back for
- 1:57Speaker 4: media days?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Uh, we get back Thursday and it's Saturday.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's Saturday. Ok.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'll give you a.
- 2:03Speaker 6: Day, give you a day to catch your breath.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Am I bullying him on air to be
- 2:14Speaker 2: at the camp?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yes, don't worry about it.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I'm not teaching anything. I'm gonna be in it. I'm
- 2:21Speaker 4: signing up.
- 2:22Speaker 3: That's fine, and that's even better.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Then I go out to Chargers Camp at the end
- 2:25Speaker 2: of July, then I come back home, and then I
- 2:28Speaker 2: am going to be gone August the third until August
- 2:32Speaker 2: the third.
- 2:32Speaker 4: What are you going to Chargers Camp for? Do your show?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Ye, that's not confirmed yet. That's like every other dates
- 2:41Speaker 2: confirmed of where we're going. But yeah, Chargers still out there.
- 2:45Speaker 3: On the table.
- 2:48Speaker 6: Well, I know you're saying it gets real for you.
- 2:50Speaker 6: But a lot more pressure on the side, Bud, A
- 2:56Speaker 6: lot more pressure.
- 2:57Speaker 4: On the side. No, you got to trouble and all that.
- 2:59Speaker 6: But you know, you know when you when we decided
- 3:05Speaker 6: to do this thing, you didn't tell me you're gonna
- 3:08Speaker 6: be gone for a whole month.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Well, to be fair, when I you know, asked you
- 3:13Speaker 2: to do this, I wasn't on NFL radio. I was
- 3:15Speaker 2: on college radio. And we didn't do a training camp tour.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But but silver Lining here. I won't be gone every
- 3:25Speaker 2: weekend from December to March, so that time is going
- 3:29Speaker 2: to be better.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Ish, Okay, we'll see, all right. I forgot the NFL
- 3:37Speaker 6: didn't do postseason.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but not like you know college once.
- 3:43Speaker 2: It's like Championship week, Army Navy, Heisman playoff, playoff, playoff.
- 3:50Speaker 4: You know we were Taylor.
- 3:52Speaker 6: We did the whole Super Bowl week, right, uh yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 6: without this.
- 3:56Speaker 5: But I mean Jake called in a few times, right yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 5: I think twice that we called.
- 4:00Speaker 6: In for like a minute. Don't give him any credit.
- 4:05Speaker 6: You're right in our hotel room and facetimon in this show.
- 4:09Speaker 6: Right then we're like, oh yeah, we probably need to
- 4:11Speaker 6: throw jacobone.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Here, give him a call and help him out, help
- 4:15Speaker 4: him out.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I was on.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Yeah you were. It was late. It was seven something
- 4:21Speaker 4: over there for it because it was we did it
- 4:23Speaker 4: like the nine o'clock hour.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:30Speaker 6: So every year for the last four years, I've done
- 4:32Speaker 6: two shows at the super.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Bowl every day. I don't know that I'm going to.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Be able to do the Super Bowl radio, which kind
- 4:38Speaker 2: of sucks because that's that's the fun one where you
- 4:41Speaker 2: get for what for serious, that's the one that you
- 4:43Speaker 2: get to interview, Like, why won't you be able to
- 4:45Speaker 2: do that?
- 4:46Speaker 6: I think it's the same time as my NFL show. Yeah, well, yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 6: you just said the same thing. Well you just said
- 4:56Speaker 6: you won't be able to do the serious show the
- 4:59Speaker 6: super Bowl Radio. So during the super Bowl they have
- 5:04Speaker 6: a pop up channel that's only that week and it's
- 5:07Speaker 6: its own channel, and it's you know, different stuff and
- 5:11Speaker 6: different coverage, but we're the only live show on it.
- 5:13Speaker 3: We do it three hours a day.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I don't think I'll be able to do that one,
- 5:16Speaker 2: which kind of sucks because that's where you get like
- 5:19Speaker 2: the musicians and the actors and the chefs and like
- 5:23Speaker 2: all the kind of non sports People's where I got
- 5:25Speaker 2: Martha Stewart last year.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Let's go Martha Stewart, SpongeBob.
- 5:30Speaker 3: See him punk SpongeBob.
- 5:35Speaker 7: Martha one dim I hear me?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Ww oh yeah, yeah, that's a bad question by me. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 2: it's my son's favorite. He was on the title last night.
- 5:43Speaker 2: By the way, Luddy dabbles and WW. As soon as
- 5:47Speaker 2: the World Cup end of my son turned.
- 5:49Speaker 3: It to WW.
- 5:50Speaker 4: You couldn't watch the Braves, but you could watch.
- 5:53Speaker 6: One my son wanted to watch and everybody's in there
- 5:55Speaker 6: as a family, and Harlow loves it. Harlow loves it.
- 6:00Speaker 7: Jake was probably a little angry. I want to see
- 6:01Speaker 7: maybe a chair or two.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and I get.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It, Harlow Dak can we watch fight?
- 6:08Speaker 3: That means w W, there's this, there's this. He actually was.
- 6:13Speaker 2: A shot putter at Alabama I think Oba is his name.
- 6:18Speaker 2: A huge, gigantic human being and he kind of walks
- 6:22Speaker 2: out and he does like the strut. Right, Harlow will
- 6:26Speaker 2: get in there do I don't watch fight and it's
- 6:27Speaker 2: just start doing like the strut.
- 6:29Speaker 3: She just wants to see him walk out, so you know.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Well, that's that's it's the excitement, that's the entertainment value,
- 6:37Speaker 4: right there? Does she shruck? Is it like a kind
- 6:39Speaker 4: of a Gregor look like he does this?
- 6:43Speaker 2: If he's just a really large, jacked human so probably
- 6:46Speaker 2: looks a little bit better than when we do it
- 6:47Speaker 2: like this.
- 6:48Speaker 3: No, nothing like that, Nothing like that at all, Nothing
- 6:53Speaker 3: like that at all.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So uh, we started this conversation talking about media days.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I think we got the Sunday Scaries realizing how close
- 6:59Speaker 2: it really was, at least I did.
- 7:00Speaker 3: My palms are a little bit sweaty.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But but Taylor, you have put your picks and who
- 7:07Speaker 2: you think is going to represent L s U at
- 7:10Speaker 2: media days, And I guess I'm a little surprised because
- 7:14Speaker 2: you Aunt Hunt also have your picks here. I'm a
- 7:16Speaker 2: little surprised with a name that I don't see in here.
- 7:20Speaker 5: So I'm actually gonna switch mine in the in the Dock,
- 7:24Speaker 5: I thought I've been I was thinking about this when
- 7:26Speaker 5: you started the segment in the Dock, I have Sam Levitt,
- 7:28Speaker 5: Type Bennifield, Tredas Green. I'm gonna take out Tye Bennifield
- 7:32Speaker 5: and put in Prince will Lumin me elle M went
- 7:39Speaker 5: last year, which is why I didn't have him on there.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Now.
- 7:41Speaker 5: I don't know if that matters to I don't know
- 7:42Speaker 5: if that matters to Lane. If Witt didn't go last year,
- 7:45Speaker 5: he would have totally been on the list, but went
- 7:47Speaker 5: a year ago.
- 7:48Speaker 7: So I didn't include him because that's typically what does
- 7:51Speaker 7: with family.
- 7:52Speaker 4: So no, I get it.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Anything I wanted to put him in there, I just
- 7:56Speaker 5: typically that's what lues done.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I'll be disappointed if WIT's not there. I mean, I
- 7:59Speaker 2: hear you, and you're right, but I'll be disappointed. If
- 8:02Speaker 2: it's not back there, man, he always gives you something.
- 8:04Speaker 2: It's genuine. It's not coach speak. It is straight from
- 8:09Speaker 2: whatever pops in the west. Brain's gonna come out of
- 8:11Speaker 2: his mouth, which I love that.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Let me ask you this, do you The answer is yes.
- 8:17Speaker 6: But like for the sake of an argument and a conversation,
- 8:21Speaker 6: do you not take Sam Levitt? You've brought in three
- 8:27Speaker 6: quarterbacks and the transfer portals you always add. As a coach,
- 8:29Speaker 6: no matter what, you always want to create the illusion
- 8:31Speaker 6: of competition, right, yeah, he hadn't practiced yet. There's other
- 8:36Speaker 6: two have practice. Do you want to keep some sort
- 8:40Speaker 6: of illusion of a competition before you go into training camp?
- 8:45Speaker 6: Or do you want to go ahead and anoint him
- 8:47Speaker 6: by sending him to media day.
- 8:50Speaker 4: A new quarterback obviously a new face at LSU.
- 8:53Speaker 6: There are people that have been at LSU for a
- 8:56Speaker 6: longer period of time who are guarant like that there
- 9:00Speaker 6: is no question mark, you know, potential question mark of
- 9:04Speaker 6: you know, whether they're going to be a starter. I'm
- 9:05Speaker 6: not saying it is with Sam, but like as coaches,
- 9:07Speaker 6: you know, coaches always want to create an illusion that
- 9:09Speaker 6: there is a competition, always, right, especially if all three
- 9:14Speaker 6: of the people in that room are new So yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 6: I would say, like of your list, Taylor, I don't know,
- 9:19Speaker 6: maybe Sam Levitt would be the guy that's on the bubble.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I think he should go.
- 9:24Speaker 6: I think everybody should be mandated to take a quarterback.
- 9:28Speaker 6: I think that should be I think every team should
- 9:30Speaker 6: take your quarterback. But if we're like sitting here trying
- 9:32Speaker 6: to you know.
- 9:34Speaker 2: He did bring a decision maker a quarterback last year
- 9:37Speaker 2: at Old Miss that was not trended at Chambliss.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, so maybe he's like Simmons.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Right, like the guy going into the year he's maybe
- 9:48Speaker 6: it's like, maybe I shouldn't bring.
- 9:52Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I don't know how you don't bring wit if you
- 9:55Speaker 6: if you're choosing between what Weeks and Sam Levitt, if.
- 9:59Speaker 5: You choose between w in anybody. Just again, the reason
- 10:02Speaker 5: I did is because he went last year. Last year
- 10:03Speaker 5: was a nas wid Weeks and Chris Hilton.
- 10:07Speaker 4: I mean I think trade Desk goes for sure.
- 10:10Speaker 5: That that was my one where I was like most
- 10:12Speaker 5: certain about, Yeah, trade goes. I picked Princeville instead of Benifield,
- 10:16Speaker 5: Like I picked Bennifield, But bring one of your Old
- 10:19Speaker 5: Miss guys with you somebody Lane's familiar with. He's he's
- 10:21Speaker 5: going to be a starter on this team if you
- 10:26Speaker 5: think he can handle the interview, because you bring it.
- 10:28Speaker 5: You bring an old miss guy. He's gonna get He's
- 10:31Speaker 5: gonna get hit right, And I've never heard an interview
- 10:33Speaker 5: with Princeville. But he's a veteran player, so I mean,
- 10:35Speaker 5: I don't I don't know.
- 10:37Speaker 6: You gotta think he'll get hit hard though on the question, Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 6: he will, he will, but I do like it.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Brayler Moore could be a potential player as well. Veteran
- 10:47Speaker 2: player senior now been here a couple of years.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 10:58Speaker 2: De Marcus Cooley could be a player. I'm just trying
- 11:00Speaker 2: to think of some different players.
- 11:03Speaker 6: But at the end of the day, if you're giving
- 11:05Speaker 6: the people what they want, it's gonna be Sam Levitt,
- 11:08Speaker 6: trade As Green and wit Weeks.
- 11:10Speaker 7: In a perfect world, that too, I would have.
- 11:12Speaker 6: That's who you work with. You just bring those players, Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 6: bring those players.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Call your quarterback, Bring with who's been at L Shoe
- 11:20Speaker 2: his entire time? Bring trade As who's been at L
- 11:22Speaker 2: SHU his entire time?
- 11:23Speaker 3: Call it it there.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Yeah, use the kiss method.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Keep it simple.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Stupid anyway, we are going to be there. We'll be
- 11:33Speaker 6: there Monday through Thursday. That week LSU doesn't go until Thursday.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So actually, I think it's gonna be better for us
- 11:42Speaker 2: because think about it, like in years past, I know
- 11:44Speaker 2: you're going done one year, but like it's Monday, it's
- 11:48Speaker 2: boom right off the gates, and it's like the rest
- 11:50Speaker 2: of the week has a slow burn died down to
- 11:53Speaker 2: it where it's gonna be.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I think more of a build up to get to LSU.
- 11:58Speaker 6: And look, once all these people start around each other,
- 12:01Speaker 6: they're gonna start bringing up how a link Kevin got
- 12:03Speaker 6: the LSU again.
- 12:04Speaker 3: And it's gonna be all the talk and right.
- 12:06Speaker 2: So I'm actually I think I'm excited about the Thursday
- 12:09Speaker 2: portion of this.
- 12:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I thought that, like when the link even stuff
- 12:13Speaker 6: initially happened, I was like, man, sec media days, we're
- 12:15Speaker 6: gonna be We're gonna be like, yeah, we're going to
- 12:18Speaker 6: play the villain part just because of who we cover
- 12:21Speaker 6: and where we're from.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Because I think.
- 12:23Speaker 2: We're gonna like we're gonna be John Snow in the
- 12:25Speaker 2: Battle of Bastards, absolutely in.
- 12:27Speaker 6: The middle of Radio row with all the mouth breathers
- 12:30Speaker 6: and but.
- 12:33Speaker 3: What, No, I agree with you. I'm just laughing at it.
- 12:37Speaker 6: But I think all that's died down now. I think
- 12:39Speaker 6: it's just like commonplace. There's the things that have happened
- 12:42Speaker 6: since then, that for sure.
- 12:44Speaker 2: But you know, like at a setting on you, I
- 12:47Speaker 2: don't say you hit a complete reset, but a little
- 12:50Speaker 2: bit of that, and then everybody gets together and then
- 12:52Speaker 2: it's sec so there's no Texas tech to talk about.
- 12:55Speaker 2: There's no so then it's like, yeah, a little mob mentality,
- 12:59Speaker 2: that's true. Yeah, I'm sure Kirby's gonna have zinger about
- 13:01Speaker 2: laying Sark's gonna have because they know each other, they're friends.
- 13:04Speaker 4: They're all in the group text. Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 6: As much as as much as everybody wants everybody to
- 13:09Speaker 6: hate each other, all those coaches aren't a group text.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Even if they talk trash to each other, and you
- 13:14Speaker 6: think there's some illusion of like some fighting some I
- 13:20Speaker 6: don't know some these two head coaches that hate each other,
- 13:23Speaker 6: blah blah blah, they're texting each other on the side. Guys,
- 13:27Speaker 6: Hey did you see that I said this about you?
- 13:30Speaker 6: Gotcha loser loser? The other coaches.
- 13:35Speaker 4: I watch this. Hold my beer, probably very expensive beercause
- 13:42Speaker 4: they make a lot of.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Money that they do that they do.
- 13:48Speaker 2: When we come back, you can't pick LSU and Paul,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna make you give one to the team that
- 13:54Speaker 2: you're most excited to find out more information about.
- 13:57Speaker 3: At Media Days.
- 13:58Speaker 6: And why I'm giving you so, I'm giving you a
- 14:00Speaker 6: break to think about it.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Said now, no seeze it.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Radio right now, you talk about it, you act like
- 14:08Speaker 2: you're about to answer it, and then you go to break.
- 14:26Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 14:29Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 14:53Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here, oh t B.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Tuesday Show is brought to you by our friends over
- 14:59Speaker 6: a community Still Community steel co dot com is the
- 15:01Speaker 6: website right there in Gonzals, Louisiana.
- 15:04Speaker 2: But they're gonna be able to service the entire area here.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Go to the website today. Get that Louisiana still at
- 15:11Speaker 2: Community steel co dot com.
- 15:14Speaker 4: All right.
- 15:15Speaker 2: As we went to the last break, I asked a
- 15:16Speaker 2: question of the room SEC Media Days. You can't choose
- 15:21Speaker 2: the LSU Fighting Tigers. Give me the team. Maybe it's
- 15:26Speaker 2: a coach, maybe it's a storyline that you're most looking
- 15:30Speaker 2: forward to at SEC Media Days. Here in just less
- 15:34Speaker 2: than two weeks time, which again little anxiety figuring out
- 15:39Speaker 2: it's that close and the travel is about to start
- 15:41Speaker 2: for your boy here, Matthew Clayton.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Flynn, I'm always excited to hear Kirby talk.
- 15:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I think Kirby's a great coach, and I really
- 15:52Speaker 6: like him as a person, and I think that he
- 15:55Speaker 6: is just really given the microphone when he wants to be.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Yep, Marla talked about drink yesterday and how like.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Actually really good he is when you get him like
- 16:02Speaker 6: in a spot just to talk, and how kind of
- 16:04Speaker 6: funny he is. I think we all like to hate
- 16:09Speaker 6: Texas A and m I think they are Enjoyabley're an
- 16:12Speaker 6: easy target on a lot of the stuff. I do
- 16:15Speaker 6: think Mike Elko is a really good head coach, and
- 16:17Speaker 6: I do kind of want to hear people's opinions on
- 16:21Speaker 6: you know, you see a lot of these quarterback rankings
- 16:23Speaker 6: coming out, like SEC quarterback rankings, and of course, like
- 16:25Speaker 6: I think I saw one was it from our station?
- 16:27Speaker 6: I saw like Sam was like Sam, it was like
- 16:31Speaker 6: fourth or fifth on the list or something coming in
- 16:34Speaker 6: from never played in SEC.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, but you got a guy like Texas A.
- 16:39Speaker 6: And m's quarterback Marcel Who's who's ranked like eighth or ninth, right, Like,
- 16:43Speaker 6: I wanted to see what people think about him right
- 16:48Speaker 6: going into this year.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Now, he is a veteran. Veteran like he's played.
- 16:52Speaker 6: For a couple of different years with the same team. Right,
- 16:55Speaker 6: it's unheard of. Yeah, right, the same team, the same system.
- 17:00Speaker 6: And LSU fans know him well because he's played incredible
- 17:06Speaker 6: against US.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Now he doesn't always play that that well against other teams.
- 17:10Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that's That's one of the storylines that I'm
- 17:13Speaker 6: looking at, looking forward to.
- 17:15Speaker 3: All Right, Taylor Sharp.
- 17:18Speaker 7: Two coaches, two coaches, first one being Alex A. Golish.
- 17:23Speaker 5: I'm really interested see what he has to say because look,
- 17:26Speaker 5: all this talk was what is Lane Kiffin going to do?
- 17:28Speaker 7: Is it going to be LSU owed miss or Florida?
- 17:30Speaker 5: He was kind of the the leftover guy, right like,
- 17:33Speaker 5: because Florida missed out on Lane Kiffin.
- 17:34Speaker 7: I think, uh, I'm sorry, not Golish. Some are All.
- 17:39Speaker 5: That's where I'm atummer all at Florida because Lane Kiffin
- 17:43Speaker 5: chose LSU over Florida. I think some are All is
- 17:46Speaker 5: a good coach. I mean, I know a lot of
- 17:47Speaker 5: people around here liked him. It'll be interested to see
- 17:49Speaker 5: you know, hey, how you got this job?
- 17:52Speaker 4: All that?
- 17:53Speaker 5: Can you turn Florida into the power that we know
- 17:55Speaker 5: them to be in years past? And then uh, Caitlin
- 17:58Speaker 5: de Boores the other you know, he still has to
- 18:01Speaker 5: decide on a quarterback. The last time we saw him
- 18:04Speaker 5: not you know, for better or worse. So they were
- 18:05Speaker 5: getting blown out on the field against Indiana. And if
- 18:08Speaker 5: it was any other school it wouldn't matter. But the
- 18:10Speaker 5: fact that it's Alabama, people are gonna hold you to
- 18:12Speaker 5: a higher standard. Also, you look at the recruiting ranking
- 18:15Speaker 5: right now, they have the thirty fifth ranked recruiting class
- 18:17Speaker 5: in twenty twenty seven. I've seen articles recently about can
- 18:21Speaker 5: Kaylen de Boor cut it at Alabama? I think there's
- 18:23Speaker 5: gonna be some questions for him. So John Summer, all
- 18:26Speaker 5: Kayln de Bor those are kind of the two coaches
- 18:27Speaker 5: I'm keeping an eye on.
- 18:31Speaker 8: Paully So I'm kind of with Taylor there, I'm gonna
- 18:34Speaker 8: I'm gonna go with two new coaches. The first one
- 18:37Speaker 8: is obviously John Summer all of Florida. Yeah, got the
- 18:41Speaker 8: Louisian He's.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Really good on the mic too. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 8: Yeah, he's also gonna have a new starting quarterback, DJ
- 18:48Speaker 8: Likeway no longer a Florida. And then I'm also interested
- 18:51Speaker 8: to hear in Alex Golist at Auburn. I don't know
- 18:55Speaker 8: much about him. I didn't watch too many USF games
- 18:58Speaker 8: as a Yeah, probably know what he did.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I think Golish, I believe was born in Russia.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Was in Russia.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I believe so.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Uh, he was an assistant at Ohio State for a while.
- 19:12Speaker 2: But to your point, Poly, I mean, we weren't probably
- 19:15Speaker 2: diving into South Florida games to see like scheme and
- 19:18Speaker 2: different you know, tendencies that he had.
- 19:20Speaker 4: As a coach.
- 19:22Speaker 8: And he's also bringing his quarterback with him, Byron Brown, So.
- 19:25Speaker 3: It was it was a good player there.
- 19:28Speaker 7: I like Byron Brown. I think he's going to translate well.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Golish is also I've had a chance to talk with
- 19:35Speaker 2: him a bunch on air. He's also really good on
- 19:38Speaker 2: the mic and and polished and you.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Know all those things.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to think where Golish. What years he was
- 19:47Speaker 2: at Ohio State. Uh oh, it was during Bobby Sound.
- 19:51Speaker 2: That's how I knew because Bobby knew him and I'm like,
- 19:53Speaker 2: I forget how Bobby he was, Like he started his
- 19:55Speaker 2: career as a GA like at Ohio State when Bobby
- 19:59Speaker 2: and Ag and all those guys were there.
- 20:01Speaker 3: So that's where he got to start.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And then he was at Illinois for a long time,
- 20:06Speaker 2: went to UCF as the OC, then went to Tennessee
- 20:09Speaker 2: of course as the OC during those Hindon Hooker like
- 20:12Speaker 2: those those offenses that they were scoring a lot of points.
- 20:14Speaker 2: And then he became the head coach there at South Florida.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Now going to be the head coach of the Auburn
- 20:19Speaker 2: Tigers for me, And I'm a little bit surprised that
- 20:22Speaker 2: none of y'all said this.
- 20:24Speaker 3: It's Pete Goldie.
- 20:25Speaker 2: That's the person that I'm most excited to hear about,
- 20:28Speaker 2: if it's not las Hue.
- 20:29Speaker 7: I just didn't because I thought one of y'all, uh, we.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Talked about this yesterday. And look, I've played around a
- 20:36Speaker 2: golf with Pete before. I've had off the recas and
- 20:40Speaker 2: I don't play golf. I kind of drove the cart
- 20:41Speaker 2: and putted because I don't like golf. But so I've
- 20:46Speaker 2: had some really good conversations with him, some open conversations.
- 20:50Speaker 3: The thing that I do like about Pete a lot.
- 20:54Speaker 2: When he gets behind a microphone, I think he forgets
- 20:56Speaker 2: that people are watching. I think you forget his comfort
- 20:59Speaker 2: zone a little bit. I know he never gets out
- 21:01Speaker 2: of his comfort zone. So he's gonna say something. I
- 21:05Speaker 2: don't know what it is. I don't know if it's
- 21:06Speaker 2: gonna be good. I don't know if it's gonna be bad.
- 21:09Speaker 2: But and there's gonna be cuss words. You can tell
- 21:12Speaker 2: Pete that he can't cuss, and that's fine. He's gonna
- 21:16Speaker 2: it's gonna happen.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Sounds like a guest on our show.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yes, yes, again, I like pe a lot. I think
- 21:24Speaker 2: he's a really good football mind. We don't know how
- 21:26Speaker 2: Pete is going to be as a head coach. He's
- 21:28Speaker 2: never been a head coach in his coaching career. He
- 21:31Speaker 2: has been a GA at Delta State where he played.
- 21:35Speaker 2: He went to high school.
- 21:36Speaker 6: I believe I'm not mistaken for a little bit, went
- 21:39Speaker 6: back to Delta State, goes to Southeastern where he's a
- 21:41Speaker 6: d C there.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Remember he is from him in America. He goes to
- 21:45Speaker 2: Southern Miss as a dB coach. Then he's a defensive
- 21:48Speaker 2: coordinator at UTSA. Then he gets the ultimate elevation of
- 21:52Speaker 2: being the DC at Alabama from twenty eighteen to twenty
- 21:54Speaker 2: twenty two. Then he goes to Old Miss the last
- 21:57Speaker 2: three seasons and now he's the head coach. He has
- 21:59Speaker 2: been hey coach for exactly three games in his life,
- 22:03Speaker 2: and so all this, all this portion of it will
- 22:07Speaker 2: be a.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Little bit new to Pete.
- 22:08Speaker 2: And again I actually appreciate that he'll say something that
- 22:12Speaker 2: he means yeah, and you're gonna get something.
- 22:14Speaker 3: You're gonna get a SoundBite that's gonna bite a little bit.
- 22:17Speaker 6: I feel like it's kind of funny because there's this,
- 22:20Speaker 6: you know, there's this obvious rivalry between Ole Miss and
- 22:25Speaker 6: LSU right now, I know that like historically it's a rival,
- 22:28Speaker 6: but like it's it's a the flame is rekindled, certainly
- 22:33Speaker 6: because Lane chose to go here. And there's a lot
- 22:37Speaker 6: of things not to like about them, right because their arrival,
- 22:40Speaker 6: Like we we we want to beat them, we want
- 22:42Speaker 6: to destroy them, and we can make fun of them,
- 22:44Speaker 6: blah blah blah.
- 22:45Speaker 4: It's kind of funny.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Like the one thing I kind of like about him
- 22:48Speaker 6: is their head coach, Like kind of like him. He's
- 22:52Speaker 6: good on the mic, he's he's just real. He's there's
- 22:56Speaker 6: really not a whole lot to make fun of when
- 22:59Speaker 6: you talk about about that. Uh so while everything else is,
- 23:04Speaker 6: you know, in our opinion right now, cringey. And we
- 23:07Speaker 6: don't like him like we I think we can kind
- 23:10Speaker 6: of all admit Peak Golden.
- 23:10Speaker 3: It's kind of cool, and he's gonna have a Peak
- 23:15Speaker 3: Golden school now, like I don't.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I don't.
- 23:16Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I don't like his hair, but I do
- 23:19Speaker 7: like Pete.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I do like the way you look, but you're cool.
- 23:23Speaker 5: He I'd have a beer with him. Yeah, That's that's
- 23:26Speaker 5: how I view a lot of the color.
- 23:27Speaker 6: We can hate everything else, but like, yeah, because I
- 23:29Speaker 6: hope every SEC team somehow loses every game.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I'm not that guy. I am not cheering for any
- 23:34Speaker 2: team that is not l S and U. Yeah, well
- 23:37Speaker 2: yeah for sure. But even like when he's been on
- 23:39Speaker 2: the mic since Lane has.
- 23:40Speaker 6: Left, it's been always like all there's all this noise
- 23:43Speaker 6: about Laying doing this, and he's like, I don't know
- 23:45Speaker 6: if he's really like that, like all that you said,
- 23:48Speaker 6: you know, he's like it's kind of blown it out
- 23:50Speaker 6: of proportion a little bit. Yeah, Yeah, he's like I
- 23:52Speaker 6: got a great opportunity here because because he left him
- 23:54Speaker 6: that So I'm cool with it.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Oh Man.
- 23:59Speaker 2: So the it's just a couple of the storylines. I
- 24:02Speaker 2: think Josh Heipel is gonna be interesting because Tennessee feels
- 24:05Speaker 2: like they're in a little bit of a pattern of
- 24:09Speaker 2: being stuck a bit, not really going up, not going down.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Just kind of feels like they're at a point where
- 24:16Speaker 2: I don't want to say that.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I don't know med by any means I mean interesting
- 24:21Speaker 3: at all.
- 24:21Speaker 6: I know it's it's I don't think he's going to
- 24:23Speaker 6: be interesting. I don't think Beamur is gonna be interesting
- 24:26Speaker 6: because there's just Shane.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Shane's good.
- 24:29Speaker 6: I actually came away last year saying Shane really impressed me.
- 24:32Speaker 6: But like we know, they're not gonna be relevant Tennessee.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Like there's teams that have the same coach and are
- 24:39Speaker 6: doing things the same way as they've been doing it.
- 24:42Speaker 6: They hadn't changed anything that are gonna say the exact
- 24:45Speaker 6: same things they did last year, right, So it's like
- 24:47Speaker 6: those are I'm not excited about hearing the same press
- 24:50Speaker 6: conference again, which is what you're gonna get with Shane now.
- 24:53Speaker 4: It was good and he's good on the mic.
- 24:55Speaker 6: He's gonna say all the right things, and he's gonna
- 24:56Speaker 6: get you get a little juice flowing. Like I was
- 24:59Speaker 6: sitting there, I was like, all right, I actually believe
- 25:01Speaker 6: South Carolina is gonna be good this year. That's how
- 25:04Speaker 6: I came away last year. I was like, remember that
- 25:06Speaker 6: it's about dark Horse. This year, they're gonna be good.
- 25:08Speaker 6: I heard him talk like, I'm not excited about it
- 25:11Speaker 6: because they're just gonna be whatever I am.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I hear you, And that's a good point. I am
- 25:17Speaker 2: excited to hear Clark.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Lee.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Clark speaks very well. Obviously a very intelligent guy. But
- 25:22Speaker 6: what's life without Diego Pavi?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Are gonna look like Andy?
- 25:25Speaker 5: And he got Jared Curtis away from Georgia the number
- 25:28Speaker 5: one quarterback in the country.
- 25:29Speaker 7: A lot of people didn't think that was gonna happen.
- 25:30Speaker 3: He's gonna play. I mean, yep, he's just he's gonna play.
- 25:33Speaker 2: The only people that have success that they like, man
- 25:36Speaker 2: had this much success, right yeah, And that's like, that's
- 25:40Speaker 2: the only teams and coaches that are you look forward
- 25:44Speaker 2: to and they're exciting to hear what they have to say.
- 25:46Speaker 6: Are teams that have the arrow pointing up with their
- 25:51Speaker 6: with their team and their school, like doing things they've
- 25:53Speaker 6: never done before, or people that are controversial, right, those
- 25:56Speaker 6: are the only people that are exciting to actually go.
- 25:59Speaker 6: People that are just there and doing kind of the
- 26:02Speaker 6: same thing every year. That's why, like if Kirby wasn't
- 26:05Speaker 6: such so good on the mic and didn't give you
- 26:07Speaker 6: such good sound clips, they'd be kind of boring, right right,
- 26:10Speaker 6: because it's they're just there's no change to them every year.
- 26:14Speaker 4: They're just always really good.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 6: But the teams that are exciting, and you like, ooh,
- 26:18Speaker 6: what's he gonna say, is the teams that are doing
- 26:20Speaker 6: things they've never done before or are controversial, because you know,
- 26:27Speaker 6: here in America we got to be entertained, constant entertainment.
- 26:34Speaker 6: You don't get that from hearing the same thing over
- 26:37Speaker 6: and over coach speak.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I mean, no, you don't, and it becomes boring and
- 26:42Speaker 2: it becomes like you're just like, why are we here?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Why do we all gather together to hear you do this?
- 26:47Speaker 2: And so we do look for those coaches and there's
- 26:50Speaker 2: some that we don't know, like there's some that are
- 26:52Speaker 2: going to be new to the conference, and and Paul
- 26:54Speaker 2: mentioned a couple of them.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I know, and so did Taye.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Some new guys that we've seen in other leagues are
- 26:59Speaker 2: gonna are they going to be that same guy in
- 27:01Speaker 2: the SEC. We don't know that, Like we have to
- 27:03Speaker 2: wait and find that information out.
- 27:05Speaker 3: So nobody said Sark.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Though is well Sark and arc is gonna go years ago?
- 27:14Speaker 4: Was there last year?
- 27:15Speaker 7: Yeah, he'll go again. It's arch Man and he'll go again.
- 27:19Speaker 5: The SEC media days might shut down if he's not there.
- 27:22Speaker 4: It's SEC me day. He'll be there every year he
- 27:27Speaker 4: should be.
- 27:29Speaker 6: Oh, let me ask you this arch Manning overrated last year,
- 27:35Speaker 6: underrated this year?
- 27:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I think so.
- 27:38Speaker 3: And you we're about to tease that god.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Yeah, what an amateur.
- 27:43Speaker 3: You switched chairs and you just man just.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Completely what a team.
- 27:48Speaker 7: Sorry for ending the show. Yeah, what's my deal? Guys,
- 27:54Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 27:54Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Something about your face?
- 27:58Speaker 6: No, don't do Harry came him, don't put him in
- 28:01Speaker 6: a box a Harrycane.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Alright, Tigers Turn Talkers, this is off the bench.
- 28:40Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTV.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Remember get in the hashtag O TB mail bag inside
- 28:50Speaker 2: of the chat. We'll get to as many as we
- 28:52Speaker 2: can here in this segment, and let's get to a
- 28:54Speaker 2: little OTB mailbag.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Put something I help this special delivery for the bench
- 29:02Speaker 4: and look it is marked most urgent.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Writing to you.
- 29:07Speaker 4: What the is the Internet?
- 29:20Speaker 2: All Right, we're gonna get to a couple of hashtag
- 29:22Speaker 2: OTB mailbags, some comments inside the chat our gut l
- 29:27Speaker 2: s U Yet he says.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Arch Manning is overrated, af.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Overrated, overrated.
- 29:35Speaker 6: Last year, certainly overrated this year, I think a bit underrated.
- 29:41Speaker 5: He finished the season really really well after that Florida loss.
- 29:45Speaker 5: That was that was a bad loss. Florida was not
- 29:47Speaker 5: a good football team. He went seven and one the
- 29:49Speaker 5: last eight games. I think only turned the ball over
- 29:51Speaker 5: twice in the last eight games. Like, arch Manning was
- 29:53Speaker 5: actually really good. He was never gonna live up to
- 29:55Speaker 5: those expectations coming into the.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and it wasn't nobody really could.
- 29:58Speaker 6: But like going into this, I think because he didn't
- 30:01Speaker 6: live up to the early season expectations when the spotlight
- 30:04Speaker 6: was certainly on him very bright, I think people are
- 30:10Speaker 6: have pumped the brakes on him a little bit. And
- 30:13Speaker 6: and I'm not saying everybody. I'm not saying every national
- 30:16Speaker 6: but I'm just saying in the overall court of public opinion.
- 30:20Speaker 6: I think people are not talking or thinking about and
- 30:24Speaker 6: being one of the top guys right going into this year. Yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 6: and again it's not everybody.
- 30:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 30:30Speaker 6: There's probably some people out there, some lists that are
- 30:32Speaker 6: saying he's going to be the number one quarterback take
- 30:34Speaker 6: and blah blah blah. But just think about where he
- 30:37Speaker 6: was a year ago. He had never started, they were
- 30:41Speaker 6: going into Ohio State to play on the road for
- 30:45Speaker 6: the first game, and somebody had already had him projected
- 30:49Speaker 6: number one overall in the NFL draft for this past draft.
- 30:53Speaker 6: So absolutely this year underrated compared to his hype for
- 30:59Speaker 6: that from a season.
- 31:00Speaker 1: A year.
- 31:04Speaker 3: All right, hashtag oh TB mailbag.
- 31:06Speaker 2: My ten year old son is about to have his
- 31:09Speaker 2: first practice for his first season of tackle football. Any
- 31:13Speaker 2: pro tips or advice I should pass on to him,
- 31:22Speaker 2: I would just tell him, Well, I mean, there's a
- 31:26Speaker 2: thousand things that I would tell him, but I think
- 31:28Speaker 2: the main thing would be like, look, you're gonna get hit.
- 31:35Speaker 2: That's gonna happen. It happens to everybody. Once you get
- 31:38Speaker 2: that first one out of the way. It's it's kind
- 31:41Speaker 2: that part I think gets over with it really does.
- 31:44Speaker 2: But I would say, be the hammer, not the nail. Like,
- 31:48Speaker 2: if you're timid in like tackle football, that's typically when
- 31:51Speaker 2: you kind of get hurt. That's typically like when you
- 31:53Speaker 2: take the hardest hits. So keep your head on a swivel,
- 31:57Speaker 2: stay aggressive. Be the hammer, not the nail. I just
- 32:00Speaker 2: know everybody gets hit. The first one's gonna hurt the worst.
- 32:05Speaker 6: They're ten, they've ever played tackle football. They're not gonna
- 32:09Speaker 6: go to scholarship today. I would tell them, when you
- 32:14Speaker 6: put your helmet on, it's gonna hurt a little bit.
- 32:17Speaker 6: It's not gonna be super comfortable. It's not like wearing
- 32:20Speaker 6: a baseball cap. It's gonna be a little bit uncomfortable.
- 32:23Speaker 6: So don't whine about it after that, just go have fun.
- 32:29Speaker 6: I'm like, way on the opposite end of the spectrum
- 32:32Speaker 6: from like a lot of people when it comes to
- 32:34Speaker 6: the youth sports situation. Though, my son's also going to
- 32:38Speaker 6: be playing for the first time, and that's exactly what
- 32:40Speaker 6: I told him. I told them two things. Your helmet's
- 32:43Speaker 6: gonna hurt, Yeah, you're the pads are gonna hurt. Break
- 32:47Speaker 6: It's not gonna be comfortable. And I get it. You're
- 32:50Speaker 6: you're little all you and your friends and this your
- 32:53Speaker 6: little age group. Y'all like things to be real comfortable.
- 32:56Speaker 6: It's not gonna be comfortable. You're gonna be uncomfortable for
- 32:58Speaker 6: a little bit, but it's okay. There's beauty in that uncomfortability.
- 33:02Speaker 6: And then also, it hurts a lot more if you're
- 33:05Speaker 6: it hurts a lot less if you deliver the hit
- 33:07Speaker 6: instead of get hit.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Be a hammer, not to them.
- 33:09Speaker 3: That's right. Hashtag go to be mail bag.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Will Elijah Haven win a Heisman and be the number
- 33:15Speaker 2: one overall pick when he's done in college?
- 33:17Speaker 7: I know who asked that question.
- 33:19Speaker 3: That was Huff. It was Matt. I mean Huff.
- 33:25Speaker 6: Well, I think Elijah Haven is a phenomenal kid, and
- 33:30Speaker 6: so I wish him all the success. And I know
- 33:32Speaker 6: he's committed to Alabama. Yeah, but I wish him all
- 33:35Speaker 6: the success in the world.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Not when just say anybody is going to win Heisman
- 33:40Speaker 2: to be the number one pick as a seventeen year old.
- 33:43Speaker 5: Little we were just talking about arch the unrealistic expectations.
- 33:47Speaker 7: Let's pup the brakes are a little bit. Let's let
- 33:49Speaker 7: him finish his high school career first.
- 33:50Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean their player. I mean he's doing incredible
- 33:53Speaker 6: in high school at the place for a great program.
- 33:57Speaker 6: No winer in them, incredible program, but they are playing
- 34:00Speaker 6: a small school. So like there's you just never know.
- 34:03Speaker 6: But I can tell you one thing from the gifts
- 34:08Speaker 6: that God gave him, the Good Lord gave him, he
- 34:11Speaker 6: will have every opportunity to be successful. And he's got
- 34:14Speaker 6: a great head on his shoulders, a great family. And
- 34:17Speaker 6: wish him all the success.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Um hash, I go to be mailbag. Can we check
- 34:23Speaker 3: Old Mulkey to get a vibe check on the team. Yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 3: I'll reach out to coach, a.
- 34:28Speaker 7: Big fan of MAP.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Coach is always I'll text her.
- 34:32Speaker 3: It's just gonna say they got a text from.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Austin text we're on text terms.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I'll do that. I'll see if I coach
- 34:41Speaker 3: can come on.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Mum. It's also from huff He says he signed his
- 34:49Speaker 2: five year old up for Tackle Foot Body Leap this fall.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Tackle the five year old.
- 34:57Speaker 6: Well, when it says twelve, you you know you.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Think I think we go that that young out in
- 35:06Speaker 5: Elton Walker, I think, I.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Mean I played that young, but I don't think we
- 35:09Speaker 3: do that.
- 35:09Speaker 7: I started I started at seven. I think but I
- 35:11Speaker 7: think most of my friends actually been a year before me.
- 35:13Speaker 6: So I played in third grade. That's that's when I
- 35:17Speaker 6: was always young for my grades. So like I graduated
- 35:19Speaker 6: high school souper, and so I was. I think I
- 35:23Speaker 6: was like third grade. I was like ninety five pounds,
- 35:24Speaker 6: so I had to play with the fourth graders. So
- 35:27Speaker 6: then I was like two years younger than everybody. I
- 35:30Speaker 6: had a terrible experience.
- 35:31Speaker 5: You were ninety five pounds and third grade, I think
- 35:34Speaker 5: so with a hoss, I think I was like fifty something.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, any of those pounds were from his knees down.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Okay.
- 35:45Speaker 6: I had a terrible experience and I quit football. I
- 35:48Speaker 6: played left guard. Yeah, and I wore like I wore
- 35:52Speaker 6: the forearm pads, the elbow pads like I was.
- 35:55Speaker 4: I was padded up.
- 35:56Speaker 6: I had a terrible experience and I quit, and I
- 36:00Speaker 6: almost never put on a helmet again. Right, So be
- 36:06Speaker 6: careful with your expectations. Careful what they push. You push
- 36:09Speaker 6: people to do, push kids to do, because a lot
- 36:12Speaker 6: of times they'll listen, even if they don't really want it.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Did you'll have a weight limit to run the football?
- 36:17Speaker 4: We did, I know, not that I remember. No, we
- 36:20Speaker 4: just one league.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Now in Streetport we didn't, but we played in two
- 36:23Speaker 2: league Sreeport and Bosier Bocher.
- 36:24Speaker 3: You had to.
- 36:25Speaker 2: And I remember my parents being like, hey, if you've
- 36:28Speaker 2: got to get down to your undies to be able
- 36:30Speaker 2: to run the football, we might have to do that,
- 36:32Speaker 2: because you know, in the Boser league you get like
- 36:34Speaker 2: the basically like the.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Red X on the back of your helmet. Streetford didn't.
- 36:39Speaker 6: I remember our first practice, the coach outs doing like
- 36:41Speaker 6: sprints and like the fastest kids. He told to go
- 36:44Speaker 6: to one line, then everybody else, and I didn't hear
- 36:47Speaker 6: him call my name. Faskets to like go play a
- 36:50Speaker 6: skill position. So I got pumped in with the lineman.
- 36:52Speaker 6: Then after Bradus my dad was like, hey, they called
- 36:54Speaker 6: your name.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 6: I was like, oh, I didn't hear miss helmet was uncomfortable. Yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 6: I couldn't hear anything. Hurt my neck one time too.
- 37:01Speaker 3: It was the first time you disappointed at Alvin.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Yeah, hurt my neck one time. Put up.
- 37:06Speaker 3: We were the We were.
- 37:06Speaker 4: The We were the Chiefs.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Okay, not a big deal. Defeated no one's scoring us
- 37:11Speaker 2: all year. We were chiefs. We were the Sunset Acres Indians.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Team names.
- 37:18Speaker 5: It was literally the Redskins logo, but green and white
- 37:22Speaker 5: youth football team.
- 37:23Speaker 3: The name of them.
- 37:25Speaker 8: I didn't play football.
- 37:26Speaker 3: That's a weird name.
- 37:29Speaker 7: Central was still the Wildcouts like their high school.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Anyway, my advice, yeah, don't push them. Just be careful.
- 37:37Speaker 2: All right, let's do this because we've got more questions
- 37:40Speaker 2: coming in. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back
- 37:42Speaker 2: when answer more of these o TV mail back questions
- 37:44Speaker 2: when we come back here on o TV.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Off the Bench mm hmm, two thousand and seven Champs

- 38:08Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 38:12Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in and ot B Gonna continue
- 38:15Speaker 2: on some mail bag questions here hashtag go to be mailbag.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Will someone please tell Joe Dumars that the off season
- 38:21Speaker 2: has started?
- 38:23Speaker 3: Pelicans gonna Pelican?
- 38:25Speaker 7: They resigned Andre Jordan does not a big deal.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Don't ask who Joe Dumars is. I won't ask who
- 38:33Speaker 2: Joe Mars is. He's the one that makes decisions for
- 38:36Speaker 2: the Pelicans. He was a guard for the Detroit Pistons.
- 38:40Speaker 2: He's a GM in the in the NBA, he's he's
- 38:43Speaker 2: a decision maker, he's the everything.
- 38:46Speaker 4: So what is he? But for real? What is he?
- 38:51Speaker 6: Joe's also front Joe played at McNeese right in college,
- 38:55Speaker 6: thinks so nice from Louisiana. Yeah, so the official title
- 39:00Speaker 6: as president of basketball Operations. Okay, so he makes any
- 39:04Speaker 6: just decision maker like roster decisions.
- 39:07Speaker 2: And he was born in Shreveport. By the way, Joe
- 39:08Speaker 2: Dumore is throwing eight through him. Great if he does something.
- 39:13Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying, are you us through an we
- 39:15Speaker 6: claiming him if he does if he does something, is
- 39:17Speaker 6: he new last year?
- 39:19Speaker 4: Okay? First year? We'll give him some time speed under him?
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he said enough hashtag go to b mailbag. Who
- 39:27Speaker 2: is your favorite rock and roll band? If you listen
- 39:29Speaker 2: to that type of music?
- 39:31Speaker 6: Motley Crue Okay, you have been playing some well what
- 39:36Speaker 6: I would envision as LP eighties music.
- 39:40Speaker 7: Okay, this last song is good?
- 39:42Speaker 4: Was going Van Halen?
- 39:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Juice is pluming.
- 39:47Speaker 6: Kind of depends on what era we're talking about when
- 39:49Speaker 6: it comes to your rock music. I've always been a
- 39:53Speaker 6: huge zeppoint guy, but I don't that's classic.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I mean I don't think. I don't know if you
- 39:57Speaker 4: call them.
- 39:58Speaker 2: But like the first because rock and roll on it
- 40:01Speaker 2: is like kind of tough to define. I guess I
- 40:03Speaker 2: went aerosmith in my in my brain the first place
- 40:06Speaker 2: that I went to.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Uh. Me and my youngest little hemmy, we've been.
- 40:16Speaker 6: I've introduced her to come sail away recently and she
- 40:19Speaker 6: wants to listen every day. She gets on my shoulders,
- 40:23Speaker 6: she gets my shoulders and I use her. I use
- 40:25Speaker 6: her legs as like a guitar, clearly. And so that's
- 40:29Speaker 6: been our rock and roll. So I don't know, there's
- 40:33Speaker 6: a lot. There's always genre hashtag O t B mail bag.
- 40:38Speaker 6: That's a Switzerland answer.
- 40:39Speaker 2: By the way, what's the most valuable position on the
- 40:42Speaker 2: football field after quarterback?
- 40:44Speaker 4: Backup quarterback?
- 40:46Speaker 5: They always say the one that protects the quarterbacks will
- 40:49Speaker 5: left tackle, right.
- 40:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean NFL is pretty much answered this question.
- 40:54Speaker 6: Past rushers, quarterbacks, left tackles.
- 40:59Speaker 2: H Nothing can affect a game like an edge rusher offensively,
- 41:03Speaker 2: at least for me. I mean quarterback might say something
- 41:05Speaker 2: different like corner safety, but an edge rusher when he
- 41:08Speaker 2: is a problem man, it's it's it just changes everything
- 41:13Speaker 2: you do like you, you do everything surrounding around that player.
- 41:18Speaker 2: But again, backup quarterback is the answer. Hash go to
- 41:25Speaker 2: be mailbag. Is that a new type of My High
