Transcript
- 0:02Hello, everyone. My name is Gary Dean. I'm with EyeOpener Society.
- 0:06Thank you again for tuning in. And I'm just bringing you another shorter attention
- 0:09span podcast here and storytelling.
- 0:14I miss,
- 0:17Right now, Ann Lund from Haunted and Waiting. I haven't heard much from her
- 0:21as far as her podcast goes.
- 0:24And like I say, she is the artist. She is the creator.
- 0:27When it feels right, I know she will bring a show out for us.
- 0:32But I miss her storytelling.
- 0:34And it would be great for me to sit here. And who knows, with all of the time
- 0:39slots that I want to start filling up in the near future, I might do some story
- 0:44time. maybe actually getting scripted.
- 0:47And when there's a good story that I would like to bring forward to you, I can do that.
- 0:52Uh, stories are great. It's no different than reading where it opens up your
- 0:57imagination and it places you into a, you know, a moment that you're drawing
- 1:01the pictures in your mind.
- 1:03You're only being fed the words, but your mind actually starts writing that,
- 1:07you know, or publishing the illustrations.
- 1:10And to me, that is very amazing that we have that capability to do that whenever
- 1:16we pick up a book and we turn those pages, the crispness.
- 1:19And I'm not talking about eBooks or anything like that.
- 1:22I do sometimes look at those, but I still prefer real books where you're turning
- 1:27and you got that feel. There's just something about that.
- 1:31And to hear somebody read a story is also wonderful as well.
- 1:36Hearing the way another person reads, the inflictions in their voices and just
- 1:40the way they are interpreting the story just through the way they read.
- 1:46And then you're taking it and you're changing the story in your head,
- 1:50changing a little bit of the scenery and all of that.
- 1:53That storytelling at its finest. And I think it's such a wonderful thing.
- 1:58And again, I'm actually considering doing some story times on my podcast,
- 2:04getting some really great stories, things that would really enhance your mind,
- 2:11get you to go down some rabbit holes, open up some new doorways into your soul.
- 2:18I would love to do that.
- 2:20And I just might do that. And I'm going to put it down on the whole podcast
- 2:23platform, you know, checkoff sheet that I have where I got tons of ideas and
- 2:31I want to bring them and I just write them down.
- 2:35And maybe we can all as a collective sit around and hear these stories,
- 2:40whether they're made up, whether they're real, whatever the case may be, I'll think about it.
- 2:44But in the meantime, pick up a book again, read something, read a novel. Read a short story.
- 2:52Listen to someone reading. Let the words nourish you.
- 2:55Let the words paint pictures and enjoy that space in your imagination that's
- 3:01going to give you a feel that you are a player in that story.
- 3:08You become a character in the background and you're interwoven into that story
- 3:13just based on what you are thinking.
- 3:14My name is Gary Dean. I'm with EyeOpener Society.
