- 0:00Speaker 1: Brought to you by.
- 0:04Speaker 1: What is that? Victoria knows what I mean. I'd like
- 0:12Speaker 1: a mug of.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Time to talk to Victoria about some sweet reality show
- 0:22Speaker 1: that she's now hooked on. Victoria, our friend in Chicago
- 0:25Speaker 1: who watches these reality shows so we don't have to
- 0:29Speaker 1: You know, I haven't watched any of the Housewives shows
- 0:32Speaker 1: much at all because I just don't want to see
- 0:35Speaker 1: all that. And now this seems so, ah, I don't
- 0:39Speaker 1: think I want to see this one either.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's one extreme or the other.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I know.
- 0:44Speaker 2: We just can't win.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So love on the spectrum.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yes, that's what we're talking about. So I had never
- 0:51Speaker 2: watched this before. I jumped right into season four. I'm
- 0:54Speaker 2: recapping episode seven, which is the last episode of the season.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So I'm going to just summarize each of the couples
- 1:00Speaker 2: and what they're doing, and then we're going to get
- 1:02Speaker 2: to lessons learned because I should have been doing this
- 1:04Speaker 2: the whole time. And this information comes from just what
- 1:07Speaker 2: happened in the episode, but then we also get an
- 1:09Speaker 2: epilogue of where each couple is at. So Madison and
- 1:13Speaker 2: Tyler live in Florida. They get engaged and they have
- 1:15Speaker 2: an engagement party. Connor and Georgie go on a trip
- 1:18Speaker 2: to London, but then they break up. By the end
- 1:22Speaker 2: of the episode, we find out which... Well, it was
- 1:24Speaker 2: interesting because he was struggling with just some of their interactions.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And so he talked to his mom about what to do.
- 1:30Speaker 2: And so they ended up breaking up. So you got
- 1:32Speaker 2: to do what you got to do, which we'll talk about.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It does.
- 1:34Speaker 3: We'll talk about that in Lessons Learned.
- 1:36Speaker 2: So Logan and Haley live in Las Vegas. Logan and
- 1:40Speaker 2: his sister go to visit Haley. Things seem to be
- 1:42Speaker 2: going well with Logan and Haley. And then even when
- 1:45Speaker 2: he leaves her house, she says, oh, do you want
- 1:47Speaker 2: to kiss? And And then, but it turns out she
- 1:49Speaker 2: just wants to be friends. So he is still on the,
- 1:51Speaker 2: he's still looking for someone.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Can't you kiss your friend?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Let's try it. Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 1: No, no, no. I'll answer that. No. Well, I've kissed
- 2:03Speaker 1: my friends.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Abby and David live in Los Angeles. This is the
- 2:10Speaker 2: first time I've seen them, so they must be from
- 2:11Speaker 2: a previous season. They're friends with Madison and Tyler, and
- 2:14Speaker 2: so they get brought into the episode because they're invited
- 2:17Speaker 2: to the engagement party. She also explains how what's going
- 2:20Speaker 2: on with her experience of being on the spectrum. And
- 2:23Speaker 2: one of the things she's working on is her impulsive behavior.
- 2:25Speaker 2: She says her smart brain didn't want to stay on
- 2:28Speaker 2: and her emotional survival brain wanted to take over. And
- 2:31Speaker 2: what she compares this to is Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And she kind of reenacts it.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's really funny.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And her mom's a little embarrassed. And so we'll talk
- 2:41Speaker 2: about that some.
- 2:42Speaker 1: More, too.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yes. But and so anyway, so I appreciate the insight
- 2:46Speaker 2: into her journey. James and Shelly are on vacation in
- 2:49Speaker 2: Cape Cod. They're still looking for a house is what
- 2:51Speaker 2: we get in the epilogue for them. They're very sweet.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Emma and Eric are in Utah. They are what we
- 2:57Speaker 2: find out in the epilogue is they're still dating and
- 2:59Speaker 2: taking things very slowly. So here are all the amazing
- 3:02Speaker 2: lessons we learned just from this episode alone about From
- 3:05Speaker 2: Love on the Spectrum. All right. So I'll start with
- 3:08Speaker 2: this quote. I should line my stomach first.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So this is Connor in England.
- 3:13Speaker 2: He drinks his beer, but he hasn't had anything to eat.
- 3:16Speaker 2: And so it goes right to him.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. These are good.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I think what Victoria is getting at is these are
- 3:21Speaker 2: lessons for all of that.
- 3:22Speaker 1: We can all learn. Yeah, right. You should learn your stomach.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Line your stomach first. Sure, okay.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, eat.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Don't drink on an empty stomach.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Listen, I don't eat because I want to get there faster.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I guess as long as it's intentional, do it with intentionality.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So the next lesson is you can do whatever you
- 3:43Speaker 2: want as long as it doesn't bother the other passengers.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And this is Abby talking to her mom about what
- 3:48Speaker 2: she can and can't do on the plane, which, you know,
- 3:51Speaker 2: you got to check in. And then what we also
- 3:53Speaker 2: learned from Abby is sometimes all of us have experiences
- 3:56Speaker 2: of our emotional survival brain taking over, a la Will Smith,
- 3:59Speaker 2: laughing Chris Rock. Tyler and his dad, and then James
- 4:03Speaker 2: is a different character. They are not afraid to show
- 4:05Speaker 2: their emotions and cry. We get some amazing moments where
- 4:08Speaker 2: they are.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Just in their feelings and they cry.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Guys, don't be afraid to cry.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I cry all the time. I do.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Are they sad tears?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And then one of the lessons learned is telling the truth.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So this is Connor's mom to him when he's trying
- 4:27Speaker 2: to figure out what to do with his relationship with Georgie.
- 4:29Speaker 2: She's like, you just need to tell the truth. If
- 4:32Speaker 2: you want to kiss someone, just ask. Haley asked Logan
- 4:36Speaker 2: if he wants to kiss. So, you know, don't jump
- 4:38Speaker 2: in there.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I think our HR department would disagree.
- 4:42Speaker 3: No, no, not disagree.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Can I just be anybody? Not disagree. You ask.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Asking is right.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So, I mean, if I'm out on the street and
- 4:50Speaker 1: I see somebody that I like to kiss, I can
- 4:53Speaker 1: walk up to them and ask them to kiss you.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's consent.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Well, don't just kiss them.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's consent. Go name it. Go name it.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And then, and this was, I can't remember who said this,
- 5:05Speaker 2: but I actually think it was Connor. He says, we
- 5:07Speaker 2: date for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. And
- 5:10Speaker 2: so you know what? It's not always forever. It's always
- 5:13Speaker 2: for a moment. He says, when you're dating people, you
- 5:15Speaker 2: never know how long it's going to be. And then
- 5:17Speaker 2: this was Danny to Connor. She says, it's not about
- 5:21Speaker 2: finding the right person, but being the right person.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I love all this. I love all. These are all
- 5:27Speaker 1: good things. Hi, Gina. I hope you write them down
- 5:30Speaker 1: and read them through every day. Yes.
- 5:33Speaker 2: If you follow me on Instagram, I put up a
- 5:35Speaker 2: new post of my summary of this episode, and I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: going to rate the shows I'm watching, and I rated
- 5:40Speaker 2: this five awkward hearts.
- 5:42Speaker 3: It's so good. Exactly.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Oh, my cup is full. My drinking game this week
- 5:52Speaker 2: is no ifs, ands, or buts. You're going to take
- 5:55Speaker 2: a drink each time you hear but or but. Or
- 5:58Speaker 2: a synonym for butt or butt, because Abby's dog had
- 6:01Speaker 2: butt surgery, and she really wants to keep going every day.
- 6:05Speaker 1: That's what she said. My dog had butt surgery.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yes, that's what she said.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 6:13Speaker 2: You just tell the truth. You just tell the truth.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So here's what's so exciting. So next week, the Real
- 6:18Speaker 2: Housewives of Salt Lake City are back. They start on Wednesday, which, remember,
- 6:22Speaker 2: is also Mexican Independence Day. And then The Secret Lives
- 6:26Speaker 2: of Mormon Wives dropped five episodes late last night. And
- 6:30Speaker 2: so this is going to be the event leading up
- 6:33Speaker 2: to what happened with Taylor, Frankie, Paul, and Dakota, I think.
- 6:37Speaker 2: We will try and recap both of those at the
- 6:39Speaker 2: same time since we only have those five episodes, and
- 6:42Speaker 2: then we'll see what happens with The Secret Lives of
- 6:44Speaker 2: Mormon Wives. Watch the Mormon.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Drama next week.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Whatever the opposite of awe.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Do you think there's a chance that The Secret Lives
- 6:56Speaker 1: of Mormon Wives will just go away at some point?
- 6:59Speaker 2: I mean, everything goes away at some point. I mean,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I would say that except for the Real Housewives of
- 7:07Speaker 2: OC has continued to live on. And so, you know,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I think we'll have to see because there's this idea
- 7:13Speaker 2: of having a queen bee on these shows. And Taylor
- 7:17Speaker 2: Frankie Paul is clearly that queen bee. And without that,
- 7:21Speaker 2: I don't know if people will be interested either because
- 7:23Speaker 2: actually she's the one that started this with her whole
- 7:26Speaker 2: swinging scandal.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And if you try to put somebody else in there
- 7:30Speaker 1: to fill that role, it's just like you're– It'll be tough. Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you're just forcing it.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Right. Right, exactly, which I mean we say these shows
- 7:38Speaker 2: are produced, but when you have the right person or
- 7:40Speaker 2: quote-unquote right person to follow, it does create storylines. But no,
- 7:45Speaker 2: when you do try and make it happen, it doesn't work.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And then there is like the idea that there's this
- 7:49Speaker 2: organic relationship and friendship among these groups. And so that
- 7:52Speaker 2: also is where you try to force that and it
- 7:54Speaker 2: doesn't work. That is why people like it. I don't
- 7:56Speaker 2: know if they know that, but having that natural friendship
- 7:59Speaker 2: does make a difference for their interaction. So, I mean, TBD, I,
- 8:03Speaker 2: you know, we'll follow it as long as, I mean, well,
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'll follow it for you as long as there's a show.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Because I don't want to do it.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 8:12Speaker 1: All right. You're doing the Lord's work, Victoria.
- 8:15Speaker 3: You are.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You're so welcome. Bless us all.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Follow her on Instagram, Judgy Empath.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Judgy Empath. Thanks so much, guys.
- 8:25Speaker 1: All right. See you later. Thank you.
- 8:27Speaker 2: See you.
- 8:28Speaker 3: All right.
