- 0:00Hi friends, You're listening to Lose the Plot with Carla and
- 0:03Emily. In this episode we're reading
- 0:05Pen Pal by JT Geisinger. We're talking about the entire
- 0:09book, so warning, there will be spoilers.
- 0:26I'm Carla, and we skipped the dinner dates and polite
- 0:29conversation and jumped straight to kinky fuckery.
- 0:33I'm Emily, and maybe the big bad line has enough of an appetite
- 0:36to Take Me Out of this world. Before we dive into this juicy
- 0:42episode, we have a tiny favor to ask.
- 0:45This is the bit where we beg and plead you to pause.
- 0:49I believe it's raining, for fuck's sake.
- 0:54Kill us five stars on whatever platform you're using, Please.
- 1:07So basically what that does, it helps us reach more people and
- 1:12makes our show more legit. So if you happen to have friends
- 1:15that also are hoi ho bags, share our podcast directly with them.
- 1:21Just spam them. And thank you for supporting us.
- 1:25OK, so I heard about this book, obviously on Teacher, but I did
- 1:30get the trigger warning from the author's website.
- 1:32I thought, let's just go to the top G and figure out what's
- 1:36going on. Let's.
- 1:36Not make any assumptions. So here's the trigger warnings,
- 1:41explicit language, graphic sex, power play dynamics, detailed
- 1:46descriptions of death and grief, miscarriage, domestic violence
- 1:50and mental illness. Jenna just sounds like my 20s.
- 1:56Not games, you know. It was, to summarize, my early.
- 2:0320s That was to summarize my trauma, though.
- 2:06Who wouldn't be this? No just playing.
- 2:09OK, we go to therapy. Oh, shit.
- 2:14Yeah. Oh, no.
- 2:16I have to retire that. This one's not a punching phone.
- 2:20Oh. So do you want to start off
- 2:23telling us a little bit about you, girl Kayla?
- 2:26I don't know, OK? I want to start by saying no,
- 2:29no, fuck this. Let's go somewhere else.
- 2:33I would start by saying usually I spoil books for myself, right?
- 2:37I see it all on TikTok. I will Google it, I will spoil
- 2:42it all. I did not because I went in this
- 2:44going. This is just a pen pal prison
- 2:47romance and I was like, that was enough information for me and I
- 2:50clearly was not doing. Yikes, because I was wrong and
- 2:54very confused. We have to keep that spoiler
- 2:57shit to the very end because I've got things to bitch about.
- 3:01So if you have not read the final chapters of this book, or
- 3:05if you're just like midway through and you're just having a
- 3:07casual gander on Spotify, fuck off until you finish the book.
- 3:12Literally none of this makes sense.
- 3:14Unless you decide not to finish the book, and you decide this is
- 3:17the way to finish. If if you trust us to tell you
- 3:23how this book ends, the Lord help you in the 1st place.
- 3:27So it's so anyway, Kayla, you girl Kayla, she's our main girl.
- 3:35She's just a little girl living in a spook spook house.
- 3:38A big, big spook spook house. A big big spook spook house.
- 3:42A big old spook house. Sorry okay.
- 3:47So she's an artist that illustrates books which
- 3:51convenient. Works from home, lots of free
- 3:54time. Lots of free time works from
- 3:56home. Yes.
- 3:58No places to be, no workplace to go.
- 4:02Yeah, I don't know if she's quite well to do, though.
- 4:07I think, what, is she rich? She's not, no.
- 4:12She'd be struggling to pay them bills because.
- 4:14She makes enough. To get by.
- 4:18She's scraping. I haven't seen her in a single
- 4:20meal. Yeah, I know.
- 4:23Well, I was going. To need to.
- 4:26For that later, but me. OK, so we're off to a great
- 4:31start, don't we? We're just.
- 4:32We're probably going to spoil it before we get it, yeah.
- 4:34Sorry. No, no, that's not bad.
- 4:36It's out of rage. Yeah.
- 4:38I didn't know what to expect with this book because as
- 4:41always, I avoided all. All I knew was that there was a
- 4:44good twist ending. And you girl goes frothy for A
- 4:48twist ending. For a just out of nowhere
- 4:50ending, I need A twist. It was twisty all the way
- 4:54through and nothing was consistent.
- 4:55There's no consistency, if anything is the opposite.
- 4:59There was one thing that was consistent and we'll talk about
- 5:02it later when. We get to it.
- 5:04OK, So what We know at the beginning.
- 5:08Kayla. She was married to a man,
- 5:11Michael, but he's dead now. He's dead.
- 5:14He drowned like a man drowned, but like a man, San Francisco
- 5:19man, dried. Like a person drowned?
- 5:21No, but they didn't even give that info straight up.
- 5:24We found out a bit later and it's randomly thrown in that he
- 5:28fell off a boat and drowned. Yeah, and her memory is this
- 5:31creepy laughter in the background.
- 5:33And. That's it.
- 5:35Yeah. Yeah, fights out.
- 5:37She doesn't remember getting to the funeral.
- 5:41She doesn't remember getting home from the funeral.
- 5:43No, no. But obviously she's all fucked
- 5:46up because they own this house together, the spooky one, and
- 5:49she's like, I've got them bills to.
- 5:51Yeah, the house is falling apart.
- 5:52It's alright. What did he even have?
- 5:55Did he have life insurance? Yeah, he did.
- 5:59OK, point to Michael. Point to Michael.
- 6:04So she's Are you able to pay some bills or she had a will?
- 6:09Someone had life insurance, he mentioned.
- 6:11In the end, one Kayla or Michael either had lunch.
- 6:19Well, it's only relevant if Michael has it because he.
- 6:22Thought he died? Exactly.
- 6:23Yeah, so it doesn't matter. Kayla, it doesn't.
- 6:28So the beginning is giving very much Haunting Avalon vibes.
- 6:32I was like, am I accidentally rereading Haunting Avalons it?
- 6:35Was very much very similar, and actually I wish we looked up
- 6:38when each was published. I do have a computer right in
- 6:42front of me immediately, OK. Google is our friend pal book.
- 6:48Oh, it was last year published. OK, that was 2022 and then
- 6:52haunting Avalon book. Was published drum roll 2021, so
- 7:02a whole year later after haunting out of line.
- 7:05So maybe Haunting Out line was inspired by Pen Pal cuz they
- 7:09have by the way room pen pal was inspired by Haunting Out line.
- 7:13Oh, OK, Walking out line was 2021 and then pen pal the year
- 7:16after. Oh, OK.
- 7:17Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:17I thought you said 2020, so no, no, no.
- 7:19Sorry, my bad. The first couple of chapters are
- 7:22pretty much exactly the same. I know.
- 7:23It's like cut and paste. Yeah, it was like that thing in
- 7:27the office where Pam's sitting there and she goes.
- 7:29The picture is exactly the same. There was the spooky house.
- 7:34It was the illustrator instead of an author.
- 7:36It was the. Big.
- 7:39Old mansion, Yeah. Big yard around it.
- 7:42The river, not a Cliff. A river with a boat.
- 7:45Yeah. And.
- 7:46She did get a security system too.
- 7:48Yes, that's right. There was other things also.
- 7:51Also. Also, the little Bunny rabbit
- 7:55dynamic, yes, was exactly the same.
- 7:57It was exactly the same and they also mentioned like they just
- 8:01want to play a cat and mouse game and I was like.
- 8:04Here we are. Again, we're back.
- 8:06I've been here a couple of months ago.
- 8:09I didn't think okay. So when I thought pen pal, I
- 8:12thought, okay, give me some prison long distance romance
- 8:17letter vibes. Yeah.
- 8:19But guess what? It's exactly like quanting out
- 8:21alone. I honestly thought it was going
- 8:22to be like therapist. In jail?
- 8:26Gotcha. Don't ask me where the cuts kind
- 8:28of made me feel like. I don't.
- 8:29Know the cover's giving you all sorts of information feel like.
- 8:32You know what? All romancy books, all types of
- 8:35romance, cut and paste very much the same.
- 8:39So I just assumed right, That's actually kind of more fun than
- 8:43what it was. I assumed wrong, obviously, but
- 8:45why has she conveniently got a stalker writing her letters?
- 8:49Yeah, I. Didn't get in a house from the
- 8:50prison. And why did she keep responding?
- 8:52She seemed so unhappy with every letter.
- 8:55Yeah, I wouldn't respond. I would move house.
- 8:57I would have sold that house from the minute she was talking
- 8:59about her husband. Her husband sounded like a Dick.
- 9:02Oh yeah. And also the letters that she
- 9:04was getting were very There was no reference to anything.
- 9:08Like, they properly knew her. It was so vague.
- 9:10And I was like, you're going to hang on for vague.
- 9:13Yeah, the first thing was I'll wait forever if I have to for.
- 9:16What for? What?
- 9:18Do you even know me, Sir? The mystery of who was mailing
- 9:22her was just dumb. It made it really confusing
- 9:25because the whole 1st 300 pages of book, even though it's 312, I
- 9:30was confused. Literally I was dude, I was more
- 9:33confused than. But anyway the bit that was
- 9:35funny was it's very like cloak and dagger trench coat man
- 9:38standing behind a tree. You're getting letters from
- 9:41Prison Pick. Pick one.
- 9:44Pick one it's giving you. Yeah, it's giving Joe Goldberg.
- 9:48The coin that kept showing up. How?
- 9:51How? How?
- 9:52How? How?
- 9:53I mean, we know how, but we know how, but we don't want to know
- 9:56how. But at the start, we didn't know
- 9:58how. I'm like, yeah, And then I'm
- 10:01like, yeah. Yeah, and then her roof was
- 10:04leaking. She had electrical problems.
- 10:07Her dryer smelled like it was burning.
- 10:09Don't use to dry then. Actually, I do want to point out
- 10:12that I realized that Australian, we're lucky.
- 10:16We have our little filters in the front of the.
- 10:18Dryer yeah. And it makes.
- 10:19Sense. And Americans have it up there.
- 10:21They hold you. Through their roof, outside
- 10:23their wall, they've got a whole chimney system.
- 10:25I'm like, you can't even clean that out.
- 10:27You have to get someone to clean it out, whereas I can just take
- 10:30it out. It just makes sense.
- 10:31There wouldn't be no burning smell.
- 10:33But you know what though? It's very satisfying watching
- 10:35those dryer chimney. Cleaning videos?
- 10:38Imagine having. To buy an appliance and having
- 10:40to put a whole pipe it. Sorry, I'm going off track.
- 10:43Literally, That's us with air conditioners, I suppose.
- 10:46Yeah, one hand give us and one hand check.
- 10:49It away and. We're talking about this book.
- 10:56We're not talking about white goods.
- 10:57What do you mean? I thought that's what this whole
- 10:59podcast was about. I'm a good white good, Oh my
- 11:03God, the Segway. And to us, I could podcast.
- 11:06Sorry, and her light bulbs keep burning.
- 11:08Out. I'm just ignoring everything.
- 11:12So home improvement, Her whole house.
- 11:14It sounds like it's made of match sticks and it's collapsing
- 11:16around her, yeah? Just collapsing around her.
- 11:19It's so big. And they have like, the square
- 11:21feet in there. I'm like, you really only ever
- 11:23talk about the kitchen in your bedroom, girl.
- 11:26But what was Michael doing for work?
- 11:28He was professor, a mathematic professor makes sense while he
- 11:32was a dickhead. So he's kind of.
- 11:36Maybe he's raking it in. I don't know, maybe they were
- 11:40kind of well to do with their two incomes.
- 11:42Yeah, I don't know, but how did it get run down so fast?
- 11:45They bought it and it was like 100 years old.
- 11:49They did that ship. Really.
- 11:51They bought it recently. Hey, Yeah.
- 11:53I was thinking like girl do some maintenance and I've.
- 11:59Rather been grieving for a couple of weeks.
- 12:02Me just like nagging her. So she's living in this run down
- 12:06house alone now. Obviously right after her
- 12:08husband's funeral she starts looking around for the cheapest
- 12:13handyman to fix cuz the roof is the biggest problem.
- 12:15Yeah, it's literally got a fucking cave in Bubbles.
- 12:18Tsunami. Bye, bye.
- 12:21It scones all the time, apparently, apparently.
- 12:24Apparently, apparently. So.
- 12:26Obviously that's gonna be. That's gonna be a lot of dosh.
- 12:29A lot of dosh. So she calls someone in.
- 12:31He's useless. That's the end of Eddie, right?
- 12:35It was such a weird point. I was like, OK.
- 12:37OK. Cool.
- 12:38That's cool for Eddie. And didn't he give her a
- 12:41business card that didn't have the right info on it or
- 12:44something? There was something weird about
- 12:45the business card and I was like, Oh yeah.
- 12:46Yeah, we have to talk about it at the end, right.
- 12:48Right. No, I didn't.
- 12:50Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:51She just pulled it. She whipped.
- 12:52It out of the drawer. And she was like, yeah, this
- 12:53Stoner handyman is a perfect man to come fix my house, right?
- 12:57So she's rude. I know she's breathing, but
- 12:59she's rude as fuck the entire time to anyone.
- 13:04And I feel like her expectations were so weird at the start.
- 13:07Like a tradie doesn't go around doing these kind of jobs for
- 13:11charity, for free for people. What?
- 13:13He's probably got jobs booked back-to-back.
- 13:17The fact that he's coming out to meet you is probably already the
- 13:20first hurdle to schedule that, yeah.
- 13:23I mean, and then she's like judging and she's like, I'm sure
- 13:26he lives in a commune or something and just smokes pot
- 13:28all the time. I'm like, about Eddie.
- 13:30Yeah, yeah, straight up. He come out for free.
- 13:34He's like sliding down. The cut he's trying.
- 13:42His hardest right now Killer in enters Aiden.
- 13:46Yeah, straight away. He's that silent beef cake.
- 13:51And he's wearing flannies. Yeah, he's covered in tattoos,
- 13:55right? Not his type, but the sexiest
- 13:57man she's ever seen. And that's what I'm assuming is
- 14:01the cover of the book, right? That's Hayden.
- 14:02Yeah, OK. And that's the reason I was
- 14:06confused the entire time. I agree.
- 14:09Because between him and Dante, I was like, who is who, where is
- 14:12where? And then there was like really
- 14:14good banter and I was all for it.
- 14:15But I was like, who's Dante? How did we get done?
- 14:18And yeah, and wasn't Dante the mystery writer from jail?
- 14:23Yes. And so why is she even?
- 14:25That's the bit that was weird. It's like, why are you even
- 14:29sending letters back if I'm going?
- 14:30To be honest, Kayla is fucking stupid.
- 14:34She's the dumbest bitch I've ever read about, so she's taking
- 14:39the cake. She's taking the lead.
- 14:40Probably not. Probably not in the scheme of
- 14:43things. OK, but.
- 14:46She's not the smartest cookie. You know what?
- 14:48You said there was banter and there was dialogue, but to me?
- 14:53OK. It was aggressive being mean to
- 14:56each other. OK, maybe this is just me
- 14:58thinking at the start. When I wrote this, I was just
- 15:01getting 0 charisma from both of them at the.
- 15:03Start like I just didn't think that this was even going to be
- 15:06the pairing and I thought Old Maid on the cover was the Dante
- 15:09from jail. I honestly thought Dante was
- 15:12going to kill Aiden. I thought that's how that was
- 15:14going to go. Yeah.
- 15:15But I just thought she was going to say no to him wanting to be
- 15:18with her. And then it was this weird, like
- 15:20them trying to sort out. Is she going to pay?
- 15:23Is she not? Is she going to fuck for the
- 15:25roof being fixed or not? Just say it, bro.
- 15:29Just say what I've got to do to get my roof done, bro.
- 15:32Like you're. Hot.
- 15:33I'm like, that was a small amount of banter and I was OK
- 15:36with that. That's where I was vibing.
- 15:37You're hot, bro. Like I pretty much do it for.
- 15:39Free. With your abs if you.
- 15:41Want me to? Sweaty and all, but it's like,
- 15:46bro, you're going to fix my roof?
- 15:49I don't know. Like it was such a weird because
- 15:52she wasn't happy about it, but then she kind of wanted him like
- 15:57it was so. Weird, but she also thought.
- 15:59He would be dumb because of how he looked.
- 16:02Yeah, she's super judgy. Yeah, she's never known.
- 16:05Not judgy, but why is she so hoity twey?
- 16:08Is it because she's, oh, I'm married to this maths professor
- 16:12and we're better than everybody? Or yeah, is that reckon her
- 16:16vibe? Her vibe, Yeah, Whenever she
- 16:18talked, she was very hype about her husband.
- 16:20But she talked about him like she hated him.
- 16:22Yeah, there was never very. Confused, I kind of thought
- 16:27maybe she Loki drowned. I went through so many stages
- 16:31where I thought. Dante did.
- 16:33And then I thought Aiden did. And it was just a circle.
- 16:35Yeah. I didn't know who killed anyone.
- 16:37And you know what I also thought?
- 16:39I thought he somehow faked his own death, lived and was in jail
- 16:41and was pretending to be Dante and was sending her letters.
- 16:44Yeah, that's what I thought as well.
- 16:45I was like, that's gotta be the twist.
- 16:47Yeah. So it's so funny because they
- 16:49they somewhat getting to know each other, somewhat trying to
- 16:52strike some kind of deal, but it was stupid fucking roof.
- 16:55It was banter, but it was depressing.
- 16:57Yeah. So she didn't want to get too
- 16:59personal with him, though, and she didn't want to admit
- 17:03anything to him, including the fact that her husband's dead,
- 17:06which I thought, that's kind of something you should say.
- 17:08She's walking around with the wedding ring on all the time.
- 17:10She's flirting with this brand new man.
- 17:13How is that too personal? It's kind of like it does basic
- 17:17information. Does he not read the newspaper?
- 17:20Probably not, because he's dumb, remember?
- 17:24But if you even if this was in the local newspaper and it was a
- 17:27couple months ago, do you read the obituaries every day and
- 17:31think, I'm gonna run into the wife of this guy, He's probably
- 17:35not on your radar. Probably not, especially when
- 17:37you look. At him, I mean.
- 17:39You're too busy. You're too busy.
- 17:40You're booked and busy. Yeah, you're too busy on
- 17:43rooftops. Yep, in the sun.
- 17:45So he probably has no idea. He has no idea who this chick
- 17:48is. No, but I think originally I
- 17:51thought it's because she had random bruises on her neck and
- 17:54stuff and he just assumed that she was getting because it just
- 17:58kept going back to DV, right? Yeah.
- 18:00So I think, but it was nothing to do with that obviously.
- 18:04It's almost like he assumed that they were separating, but he
- 18:07didn't just straight up ask. Yeah, why didn't he ask?
- 18:09He could have just said, oh, clearly it's complicated that
- 18:13you're separating. But she did say in a bit, she's
- 18:16like, Oh yeah, we're separated. But she could have just been
- 18:18like, yeah, he's dead. That's so much easier.
- 18:21Saved a lot of problems, I know. Saved the entire
- 18:24miscommunications about everything.
- 18:26Would have saved us at least 50 pages.
- 18:28It would have saved me a lot of angst because I was the one
- 18:31being angsty. And like mad at her.
- 18:33Yes, yes. If you're grown adults and this
- 18:36is how you choose to communicate with someone new in your life,
- 18:40you're a fucking idiot and someone.
- 18:41She murdered her husband. Unless she did.
- 18:44I was thinking at the time it. Really doesn't want to
- 18:47incriminate herself. Yeah, but yeah, it didn't make
- 18:50any sense to hold that back. It's kind of basic information,
- 18:53and it would make sense why you're a mopi depressing bitchy
- 18:55bitch right now. Yeah, yeah, Because this person
- 18:57doesn't even know you. I don't get what appealed.
- 19:00Him to her at the start. Because she was sad and mean.
- 19:04Yes. Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 19:06This guy is hot. Yeah, he is laying pipe all over
- 19:11down. He is seeing like milk after
- 19:14milk after milk. I just don't get it.
- 19:17She's like this sad, cranky Tim Burton girl.
- 19:20She's the one. We never.
- 19:21Get what she looks like either? No, she's very vague as a
- 19:25character. There's no description.
- 19:27None. Do you think she's just a self
- 19:28insert? Yeah, for the sex scenes, I
- 19:31guess. I wasn't here for it, yeah.
- 19:35Probably an opinion I probably should keep to myself, but I
- 19:37wasn't here for no. Why would you keep that to
- 19:40yourself? That's the half the reason,
- 19:41that's why. We're here.
- 19:42Yeah, literally. We have.
- 19:44What? Yeah, let's keep our opinions to
- 19:46ourselves on our own podcast. I just don't.
- 19:48Want people to be mad. No one's getting mad.
- 19:52No one's even commenting right now.
- 19:53So it's OK. This is when we can let our
- 19:55freak flag fly. It's like once we start getting
- 19:59people who put comments and start bashing us, that's how we
- 20:02know we've made it. OK, he agrees to do the work on
- 20:09the House, which is obviously the whole roof repair, blah
- 20:12blah. There was back and forth.
- 20:15I guess that's what you would consider flirting I suppose.
- 20:18In their reality, she gave him the nickname Fight Club pretty
- 20:22early on and I was just like, bro.
- 20:24If she could pick any other nickname, that would be fine.
- 20:27Honestly, out of the list of nicknames in this book, it makes
- 20:30me want to die. It didn't even make.
- 20:33Nothing makes sense. But why Fight Club?
- 20:36That's such an old movie. This girl, well, this woman is
- 20:40like a young woman. She couldn't call him.
- 20:41Is called Fight Club. She could have called him any
- 20:44other name. Every time I read the word.
- 20:47Fight Club I. Literally.
- 20:50Between Fight Club Lion and Bunny, I couldn't hope I nearly
- 20:58quit the book I was. Like you've already read the
- 21:00whole thing. I couldn't even beat.
- 21:01I was. It was so funny because when you
- 21:04send me that screenshot and I knew you were fighting me alive,
- 21:07I was like the middle of the book.
- 21:09I fucking love because I read it a couple weeks ago and I was
- 21:14like. The screenshot said.
- 21:20That your little. Birdie worked up an appetite
- 21:22from getting fucked so well by her big bad lion.
- 21:25I was done. It was only 80 pages in, but is
- 21:28it a wolf or a lion? Because there was one point He
- 21:31looked at her wolfishly. Was like.
- 21:35Well, it's. Just hairy.
- 21:37Well, he's got pits for days. Oh shit, so funny.
- 21:41You know, this flirting, it was very clunky to me.
- 21:45It wasn't sexy and it wasn't even interesting.
- 21:47Like, you know how sometimes you get the quirky couple and their
- 21:50flirting's like, okay? That's maybe not what I would
- 21:52say, but it's fine. I love a good, mean flirting,
- 21:55though. Yeah, but it wasn't.
- 21:58In the right area. Here's my reenactment of them
- 22:01floating. I'm ready.
- 22:02He's just like, well, that's just cuz I'm smarter than you
- 22:05little rabbit. And then she'll be like, well,
- 22:08there's that humor again. Fight Club or something.
- 22:10I'm like you guys even talk about.
- 22:12The same person, so they don't know what's sad.
- 22:16That was the only thing getting me through, and it wasn't even
- 22:20good. But there was a constant or
- 22:23there's that humor again. And he's not humorous.
- 22:25He is the most grump grump that ever grumped and she was the
- 22:28most sad sack that ever sacked. So it's kind of like what is
- 22:31happening here? But they both thought that they
- 22:34were falling into this like. Deep rich.
- 22:37I mean, I think we're pretty funny, love.
- 22:39And I'm like you guys. So maybe it's just gone on out.
- 22:42Their level of funny is like a one an ounce is a 10 and that
- 22:45one, I love that that turned into a flex about us 00 K So OK,
- 22:54sorry, I literally just. Go back.
- 22:57I read OK, so. I've got a quote for you.
- 23:01And I read it a bit ahead, and that's why I started gagging.
- 23:04OK, before I say the quote, can we just establish that this is a
- 23:12total fucking proximity rebound? Fuck, this man just walked into
- 23:19your house and he has a he didn't.
- 23:21Even say who he was, he just said Aiden.
- 23:24She was like, who are you? And he was like Aiden and she's
- 23:26like, OK, Aiden, who are you? Why are you at my house?
- 23:30Right? Because she didn't call him
- 23:31either. But can we just establish that's
- 23:34what this is? Let's not, like, stop.
- 23:36That's why I thought. He was the stalker.
- 23:40Like he's immaterial to me. He is nobody.
- 23:45He is a fuck boy. He's nobody.
- 23:47I don't get what what are we supposed to be getting from this
- 23:50material? That he is the book boyfriend of
- 23:52the century. He's not.
- 23:53He's not like, put him back in his place.
- 23:56Sprinkle, sprinkle. Like I just don't.
- 23:59Are we reading the same story? Ready for the quote?
- 24:03OK, this is when I guess they're fucking ready.
- 24:05I just got to get it going. I just didn't even care.
- 24:07He stops licking to suckle my clit like he like he's drawing
- 24:13milk. For the new I oh get some in his
- 24:18mouth mindlessly. Girl, I'm so glad you're praying
- 24:23this up, because that was going to be my quote at the start, and
- 24:25I did. You can't just put it on people
- 24:27like that at the start. You can't.
- 24:29That's just too insane. People click.
- 24:31On I never. It'll be like touching a whole
- 24:33story, but they're going to be like, ah, I never puked this,
- 24:37but. I don't know what it is about.
- 24:38Anytime I know, OK, I know. You OK?
- 24:44I would just. My friend is fried.
- 24:54OK, for one. I don't want to think about a
- 24:58little Milkies from the Clitty, OK the Clitty milk.
- 25:11You need to get that shit. On I'm fucking orbiting your
- 25:16Fuck it, I'm calling Elon Musk. I'm going to Mars.
- 25:19This is fucked. I'm done.
- 25:21Done with this planet. I'm fucking done.
- 25:26I'm done taking you out of here. Nah.
- 25:30OK. Because that was.
- 25:31The worst. That was the worst.
- 25:34Quite. You know what?
- 25:36She was right about one thing, She is fucking mindless, she
- 25:41said. Orgasm in his mouth, mindlessly.
- 25:44Everything you're doing is mindless.
- 25:45You're. Too bad you're laying there,
- 25:48right? And you're like.
- 25:50In your brain as you'll get. Now you're like.
- 25:55He's sucking on it like he's sucking titty milk.
- 26:02Just breastfeeding this big old baby.
- 26:07You cannot move back from that. I'm so sorry.
- 26:11I was just retired from having. That's one of them.
- 26:15Intrusive thoughts I would think about all the time.
- 26:19Yeah, I'd be like. Why did my brain do that to me,
- 26:22but something I also hate? Is when they're talking.
- 26:26About getting licked out. I know it's licking, but he
- 26:29they'll be like he's licking. Just a word.
- 26:32Licking. I don't know.
- 26:33It gives me the like. I understand.
- 26:35But surely there's a I've never, I've never read it in another
- 26:39book before. I don't think probably have.
- 26:42It didn't affect. Me like as.
- 26:43Much as this. One, I think it's the fucking
- 26:46combination of the obscure things we didn't need that we
- 26:50didn't need that JT. Take it back.
- 26:52Take it back. Take it back.
- 26:54I want this fucking republished. I want you to fucking take it.
- 27:00Back out again. I need an apology from the
- 27:03fucking publisher. I need a fucking.
- 27:07Refund. Also also before we get to the
- 27:12clean milk Okay okay. Alright.
- 27:18I can't When they're in the bar and he's like hitting on her and
- 27:21he's straight up just goes, I just want to hear you moan.
- 27:24If any other person said that in the bar to me, I'd call the
- 27:27police. I would call.
- 27:29I'd go. Home, I'd be scared the whole
- 27:33conversation. I'd be too scared.
- 27:35The whole conversation. In the bar, yeah.
- 27:38Even if they hotly answered that to me, yeah, I'd be traumatized,
- 27:41of course. And he just casually and she was
- 27:43just like, I'm overwhelmed. I'm overwhelmed because you're
- 27:46scared for your. Or overwhelmed because he's
- 27:49attractive. Where's the line?
- 27:50I don't know. And I also don't know.
- 27:53They didn't specify, like, yeah, we fucking for the roof.
- 27:57He never long said. Straight up I'm interested in
- 27:59you kind of thing. It was just all very It was all.
- 28:03I just want to hear you moan straight up.
- 28:06Fucking subscribe to my only fans then, bitch.
- 28:09But like even he says, I really want to make you cum just out of
- 28:12nowhere, there at the bar, at the table, drinking around.
- 28:15People have some dinner chance, some glass.
- 28:26We don't want to hear about you moaning, orgasming, coming, you
- 28:29fucking clitty milk 'cause nobody needs this right now.
- 28:33Keep it to yourselves, you filthy animals.
- 28:38I just stop. I can't go to the weird boomers
- 28:43actually cannot wait until it's 70 years old and we're just
- 28:46going. Damn.
- 28:47Do you know? What's wild to me when we're
- 28:50old? So you know how, like boomers
- 28:52listen to their music from the 80s, nineties now, Yeah.
- 28:55Our music when we're old, in our 90s is probably going to be like
- 28:58a whap. So are we going to in the Yeah,
- 29:01I'm going to break a hip. Drop it low.
- 29:05Literally, Yeah. Oh, fucking hell.
- 29:09Of course that quote took us fucking 20 minutes to work
- 29:12through in process. So Kayla's main concern about
- 29:17hooking up with this new guy is what her freshly dead husband
- 29:20would think, which at the time she thought was What are you
- 29:24doing? This man probably doesn't even
- 29:26have a college degree. Michael, is sugar in his grade?
- 29:30Jesus, she's just busted it open for any guy with a high school
- 29:34education. He's like, how dare that man get
- 29:42on that roof? He's like, in heaven or he's in
- 29:44hell, or he's in his jail cell, whatever the fuck.
- 29:47And he's just like looking down at it and just being like, oh oh
- 29:51damn. This man has tattoos.
- 29:55Scandalous. Isn't that just funny, though?
- 29:58Because Michael sounds like a weirdo.
- 30:01He's probably. I mean, if you were to pick a
- 30:05rebound, this is the guy for it. He probably twitches.
- 30:09There's nothing wrong with, yeah, there's nothing wrong with
- 30:11either of them things. But on Michael, there is
- 30:12something wrong, Yeah, but I just feel like he's the most
- 30:15rebounding rebound that ever rebounded.
- 30:17So what do you what? Do you mean if you're going to
- 30:19rebound, you might as well shoot from the stars?
- 30:21Yeah, he is the epitome of rebound material.
- 30:23I thought you Michael can throw it around?
- 30:26Nah, Nah. Nah, but then roofing arms.
- 30:30But I just think that's what you're thinking about when
- 30:32you're hooking up with this hotty, hotty hot hot potato
- 30:35you're thinking about. She did it with her ring on.
- 30:37What would Michael think? I mean, that's the part that
- 30:41stressed her, not everything else in this riveting sex scene.
- 30:46Oh, in this riveting. He goes I'm going to devalue
- 30:51little Bunny rabbit piece by tasty piece.
- 30:54I'm going to eat you up and. I continued to die.
- 30:58I thought you were going to say End Quote and I was like.
- 31:01End Quote Get done Cancel. Cancel.
- 31:05I honestly think that might have been my piece.
- 31:08Before the screenshot I said you saw, I was just getting
- 31:10overwhelmed. Yeah, that's when you were
- 31:13starting to drown. I.
- 31:15Was like, I was almost OK with this book and then we just got
- 31:18to hear. I just want to speak to Dead
- 31:21Michael real quick. OK.
- 31:24OK. So, Michael, you do not need a
- 31:27university education to get the job done, my bro, what are you
- 31:32thinking? To also to add to that, Kayla
- 31:35admitted that she's only ever done missionary.
- 31:39I must have missed that one. I just felt like a bullet.
- 31:42I was like. She hasn't done anything.
- 31:46That's why they were going slow, cuz she's only done missionary
- 31:50going slow. The first time she fucking came
- 31:53over, she was running around naked, her tits just flapjacking
- 31:56in the wind. Actually, yeah, nothing cringe
- 31:58is more cringe than them flapjacks kitties.
- 32:01But then knowing someone for two days, dude, you could not pay me
- 32:07a billion dollars to run around someone's home naked.
- 32:10And the first time you're hooking.
- 32:12Up. Especially since she said she
- 32:14does it in the dark. She's confident the second my
- 32:18size. What if she tripped?
- 32:23Well, naked? That would give me the X so
- 32:25fast. Oh my God, what if?
- 32:29She knocked herself out and she was naked and he was someone
- 32:32would be like, call the police. But honestly, she was like, I'm
- 32:36not this type of girl, but she met him a day ago.
- 32:39You are this kind of girl now, bitch.
- 32:41You are now and she kept using the words love.
- 32:44She was like, I love it, Aiden. She was just so intense, but
- 32:48then very vague. They had a lot of big sappy
- 32:50quotes in between all of this weird Bunny fucking.
- 32:55Yes, that is so true. And that was a lot of the weird
- 32:57Bunny. Fucking There was a lot.
- 32:59There was a lot. And every time she spoke, it was
- 33:01giving, you know, Debbie Ryan when she does the the hair.
- 33:05Well, someone will know what? I'm talking about Debbie Ryan
- 33:07when she does a little smoke and she pushes her hair behind her
- 33:10ear across. Between that and ballast one
- 33:14with the flickering eyes, that's what it was.
- 33:16The energy. Yeah, I.
- 33:18Found the quote that gave. The energy.
- 33:20Oh, and it goes. I don't know anything beyond
- 33:23that. And I hope you won't press me
- 33:24for more, because I tend to act like a cornered wolf when I get
- 33:27backed up against the wall. And believe me when I tell you
- 33:29that it's not pretty. So who's the wolf now?
- 33:33I don't know, but if anyone. If anyone said that to me, I
- 33:36would fade into the Bush. You'd pull her home a Simpson.
- 33:40I would be like this is not. It for me and it's.
- 33:44Whenever people say that, they're just full of shit.
- 33:47I'm like OK. What have you been?
- 33:50Doing. You're like, what could you do
- 33:52to me? I'm a big.
- 33:53You're a big boy. You're not the that much of the
- 33:56main character. Like, chill?
- 33:58Yeah. Are you the widow?
- 34:00Or are you the wolf now? Oh, OK, so I've got a quote.
- 34:03Sorry. I just.
- 34:07I always spoil it for myself. OK, get ready to take my cum,
- 34:11baby. Open that sweet pussy wide.
- 34:16Yep. I heard that just before the.
- 34:20Baby. Maybe he should have gone to
- 34:22university because he does not understand anatomy.
- 34:26I'm done. Yeah.
- 34:31I'm done, yeah. We.
- 34:34Can't open our pussy wide, Sir. She just spread them like she.
- 34:38Just put some clams. Smells just like she's holding
- 34:42it. Open.
- 34:45Hands stop it. Fingers to sides.
- 34:50I'm done. That was enough.
- 34:53That was enough that was. That's cancelled.
- 34:55That whole that was. Like chapter 12 and Chapter 13.
- 34:59And let me tell you, it was enough.
- 35:02Why are we? Here why?
- 35:03Why are we doing this? And I was still.
- 35:05Fucking confused. OK, so like, they're fucking
- 35:09cool. Why are they pretending?
- 35:11Like there's depth, not? Where is it?
- 35:14There's none. Because let me tell you, there's
- 35:17another quote, OK? We're just a quote podcast now.
- 35:22I'm sorry and it. Give your.
- 35:24Lion a kiss. Bunny, make it sweet followed up
- 35:27with Can we sit at your house now?
- 35:29I can't wait to find out what kind of palace a Lion King
- 35:32builds for himself. Not that exact moment I.
- 35:39Questioned all my life decisions.
- 35:43Like, maybe these guys just want to be fairies and like, that's
- 35:46fine, but just. Like fucking if that's what.
- 35:50If that's if they put that in the start and they're like this
- 35:52is a fairy room, that would be OK that would make more sense.
- 35:56But this is grown. 3035 year olds and interweaved in Was all
- 36:00this normal, realistic shit? Yeah.
- 36:03And then they just they never talked about it.
- 36:05They never talked about role play.
- 36:07They never talked about it. They're just like, let's just do
- 36:10it. Do this.
- 36:13And it's only because she's only ever done missionary.
- 36:15So this is all like his idea, right?
- 36:17Yeah, of course. So you're just going?
- 36:18To do whatever the guy you just met wants to do, Yeah, or he
- 36:22could also. Murder you, girl?
- 36:24Yeah, like what? I'm not adjusting to someone
- 36:26else's kinks. No.
- 36:28Fuck. That not without talking about
- 36:31it or something. Any conversations?
- 36:35The fucking and the Bunny and line thing, that's what I mean.
- 36:39Except she saw that poetry book or something once.
- 36:43Yeah, and that was at the end. But then.
- 36:45But then she just kept cracking jokes about and he was just
- 36:48like, that's because I'm smarter than you, babe.
- 36:51Like Bunny, that's because I'm just.
- 36:53Smarter than you, Bunny. No, another quote that was
- 37:06actually fucked. Okay.
- 37:07I've got another quote. So here's one from Pitney Hall
- 37:10of Fame, right. So this is when she's talking to
- 37:12Aiden. This is generally before they're
- 37:14even dating, cuz you know how it takes them a long time to sort
- 37:16of get there with the dating, the dating.
- 37:19They're fucking, but they're not dating.
- 37:20Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. So this is what she says.
- 37:23The past is dead, so whatever happened, whatever you've done,
- 37:27just know that I'll never ask you to explain yourself to me.
- 37:31I'll also never judge you for something like you did to keep
- 37:34someone else from getting hurt, no matter how bad that something
- 37:38was. Life is messy and we all have
- 37:40reasons for doing what we do. I don't care about anything you
- 37:44did before we met for context. He murdered.
- 37:47His father and. I feel like that should matter
- 37:52to someone. I mean, he was.
- 37:54Abusing his mum, but but she's just the queen of clean slate.
- 37:59That's what I mean. They would either have.
- 38:01The Bunny line thing. Or they have these really deep
- 38:05long paragraphs where no one speaks like that.
- 38:10I feel like the author didn't read it out loud.
- 38:13And also. Like, why is she coming so hard
- 38:15for him? Why are you defending this man
- 38:17that much he just don't like? I think it's after the first.
- 38:21They have sex and that's what's it was just so weird.
- 38:24He gives her a bath. And gives her some wine and it's
- 38:27kind of like she's trying to say it's okay, that you've
- 38:30technically been a disgusting, horrible person as long as I'm
- 38:34with you now. Like I can make your life better
- 38:36kind of thing. And I'm like, yeah, me, yeah,
- 38:39biggest pick me energy. No, she is, though.
- 38:42The whole time. Because he did go to jail.
- 38:45Yeah, right. So like.
- 38:46It was very much. Oh, I'll.
- 38:48Be your redemption me. Okay, I'm con.
- 38:53Call is the community service in your pussy.
- 38:58Not that community. Michael like I'm just looking
- 39:03down like. Not the community.
- 39:07Not the Community Center Dick, Anyway.
- 39:11So that's when I decided she's gone to the Pygmy Hall of Fame
- 39:14and I'm done with her. Oh yeah, literally.
- 39:17I was willing to give her a chance.
- 39:19I was willing to get past the whiny stage because she was
- 39:21like, grieving and shit. And then I just didn't.
- 39:24Carry more. I was like, OK, like just admit
- 39:26that you're getting Dick down instead of going to therapy.
- 39:28Yeah, I. Mean she even went to.
- 39:31Like a grieving, grieving group. And she said, put it's maltre.
- 39:36And. She just.
- 39:40She left. She didn't.
- 39:42She was there for a minute and that's when they.
- 39:44Actually started hooking up, I think with her not telling him
- 39:47about her dead husband. She told Eddie and she even
- 39:49goes. I told Eddie the handyman my
- 39:51husband was dead. He never riled me up the arse
- 39:54and called me his Bunny, though. I well.
- 39:57You'd hope not. That's a working class man.
- 40:01Working now too. Fast.
- 40:03You have to do many places to be.
- 40:06Not everyone loves that from you, Kayla.
- 40:07You're fucking weirdo. Like.
- 40:10Jesus. Can we find out how?
- 40:12Easily. She took it up the bar, though.
- 40:15That's a whole separate thing, okay.
- 40:20Go back to Eddie. Go back.
- 40:21To this so like so I didn't get why did she tell Eddie and not
- 40:27him? Yeah, make that.
- 40:29Make sense? Why are you so sad?
- 40:31But you could tell Eddie I know. You just told him, but you
- 40:34thought he was a donor. Idiot.
- 40:36But she also told it Eddie. She was having blackouts and
- 40:39migraines, and he could have been the psycho.
- 40:41He could have been like, well, I'll just come back when you're
- 40:43fucking blacked out on the couch again.
- 40:44And like, how many times did any even visit?
- 40:46Wasn't it just the one time? Didn't he give her the
- 40:50information about the therapist? Yeah.
- 40:52Yeah. So this is.
- 40:54When I all started going. Downhill with Sheriff, yeah.
- 40:59I only have one more thing and then we can talk about anal.
- 41:03I love something about anal. We love it.
- 41:06It's only a good topic. So during the whole book she
- 41:08needs to draw 27 illustrations for a book.
- 41:11She only has six weeks left. The fact that she was never
- 41:16putting pen to paper had me sugar.
- 41:19I was like, go, You've got a deadline, you crazy bitch.
- 41:21You don't have time to be getting Dick down this much.
- 41:24Maybe she works good under pressure.
- 41:26Of course she was drawing rabbits.
- 41:28Some bunnies for children's books?
- 41:30Yeah, that's too close. To home, but she's probably.
- 41:34She's 7 to do. Maybe she couldn't draw.
- 41:36The rabbits, because she was it was hitting too close.
- 41:40She was like, this will be me later, wasn't she?
- 41:44Making them all depressed by accident, Yeah, she was trying
- 41:47to draw them all cutesy and then they were like, just sad, sad.
- 41:53Sad. Sad.
- 41:54Sad rabbits OK, anal. In this book, anal just came out
- 41:59of nowhere. It was just OK.
- 42:01You just rammed it in. It came out of nowhere.
- 42:04He didn't even loop it up. They didn't talk about it
- 42:08properly, she. Literally, practically from what
- 42:12I remember, I was probably wrong because this whole book is a
- 42:14whirlwind. She just pulled them cheeks
- 42:17apart and was like, yes, do it. I know there was no working up.
- 42:22Towards his massive Dick. I'm assuming he had because they
- 42:25all have massive money. And also, again, it's the same
- 42:29trope in books where they never have that discussion and somehow
- 42:33it's. Always when they're in their
- 42:35most loving period, that's what. I don't.
- 42:38Understand. It's like, oh, now I've done all
- 42:41the rough stuff. Now that I'm in love with you,
- 42:43let me ram it in the Boo holes job.
- 42:49Yup. You would not do that to someone
- 42:51you'd love, no. You would at least.
- 42:55Buy a bucket of blue. Before you try at least and you
- 42:58would maybe. Why?
- 43:00You love? Yeah.
- 43:02He didn't even put a finger. In I don't think.
- 43:04It was straight. It's always like he accidentally
- 43:06did it, like he got his way, lost on the way to the purse,
- 43:09but he just, he just went out with it.
- 43:10He's like, Oh well, we're in there now, she cried.
- 43:13You know the difference. It's always.
- 43:16Wild to me. Oh my God, we haven't even
- 43:17gotten to the stupid the bit that the bit.
- 43:21That had me buying my ticket to escape earth if I could afford
- 43:25it, which unfortunately I can't. So like here I am, right?
- 43:28Otherwise I wouldn't be here if I have to.
- 43:30Go for it out for Elon Musk. I might have to pull out my
- 43:33retirement fund because. And I've got a direct quote, and
- 43:41this is during sex, right? So they're literally fucking
- 43:47through credit teeth, he says. Repeat the safe word.
- 43:51Cheesy. Good girl.
- 43:55Gripping. Gripping my hips, he shoves
- 43:58inside me with a guttal grudge. Fuck off, Cheesy.
- 44:04You're not going to. Say cheesy.
- 44:06Before. You stick your Dick in me.
- 44:11Because she thought it was cheesy.
- 44:14Go. Nothing would make my legs clamp
- 44:16shot faster than someone saying cheesy mm HM.
- 44:20Isn't that the point? What songs is?
- 44:22Supposed to be laughing when he's putting the D?
- 44:25In because that would make me do you.
- 44:27Fucking lose it, do you not? Laugh when you get the.
- 44:29D in because I sometimes do. Oh my God.
- 44:34I just don't. I just.
- 44:38To be fair, this. Whole book was in parts, right
- 44:41in my brain. It was in parts.
- 44:42It was the weird banter. It was the chapters of sex that
- 44:47had nothing else. But sex in it?
- 44:49And then it was the rest. Yeah, I know, but it was like
- 44:53the sex. The.
- 44:55Next bit and then the end. Yeah, yeah, so true.
- 44:58The mid was very much sex, yeah, and meaningless.
- 45:02There was no. Working into the romance.
- 45:05There was no romance. There was no build up.
- 45:06There was no, oh, they know each other so well now, now.
- 45:09It's good that they're together always.
- 45:11Yeah. It was always sex in the
- 45:14apartment, chasing around the apartment.
- 45:16Yeah, they fucked in the forest, on the floor, on the floor of
- 45:20the forest, the floor of the forest.
- 45:21Forest the friends, Right. Friends of the forest.
- 45:24Little Bunny in the forest. I just.
- 45:27Yeah, that bit was giving me very much murdery vibes because
- 45:31she was a little naked, splayed out on the ground and he was
- 45:33still fully clothed. And I was like, yeah.
- 45:36Yeah. Could you imagine driving past?
- 45:41So I was imagining other people seeing it, but yes.
- 45:46Like why call the? Police wouldn't.
- 45:48Why wouldn't you? It's like a naked lady because
- 45:51she's like laughing. I.
- 45:53Don't know, maybe. Depends how far away you are.
- 45:56Yeah, true. Cuz even if they're laughing,
- 45:58they could be. What if you're like trying to
- 45:59help her? And then?
- 46:00He's she's like into it. And then you're like, and then
- 46:03he turns around and he's got a wolf mask on and he starts
- 46:05running. And do you like wolf speed?
- 46:07You're. Like.
- 46:10Arms in the air like. Them car things you need to be
- 46:14here, they're just trying to help, but it's.
- 46:18She's all good. I get it.
- 46:19It's. Like I get it, I interrupted
- 46:22you. I don't have the problem.
- 46:23Now OK, so. Why were they in the?
- 46:26Forest because he had like. A thing.
- 46:29A house he was building in the middle of the Palace of the
- 46:32Lion. Lion Palace, the.
- 46:35Lion King. The Lion Palace.
- 46:39We must visit it at the stroke of midnight.
- 46:42Oh look, she tripped. And now we're going to fuck on
- 46:44the ground. Even met.
- 46:46To be clear, we you obviously called the police thinking about
- 46:51it as we move past. And I was like, it sounds like I
- 46:53would just ignore that, but I would probably call the police.
- 46:55Yeah, I wouldn't approach, no. But.
- 46:59Even when they were talking about this House.
- 47:01They were like, she see The Lion King Palace, but then she was
- 47:04like, hopefully your other little Bunny pallets are not
- 47:08hanging up on the wall. Do you believe that this man has
- 47:12never called anyone else Bunny cause he no brand new?
- 47:15I feel like he's. On repeat.
- 47:17This man's on repeat. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:19He's got no new material because apparently he hates everyone.
- 47:23You don't just come at someone brand new with little Bunny and
- 47:26start fucking chasing around the house naked.
- 47:27Sorry. OK, but.
- 47:29Bunny is arguably cuter than calling someone Lion and Fight
- 47:32Club. Like that would send.
- 47:34If he was every now and then like oh hey Bunny or something,
- 47:38even though I'd probably die inside it, well, they're as bad
- 47:41as each other. So if my partner called.
- 47:43Me Bunny, I'd literally go tell him to fucking.
- 47:47Yeah, because you'd be like where does that?
- 47:49Because I'd be like I. I'm not the one.
- 47:53I feel like that the type of guy that's going to call you little
- 47:56Bunny or whatever, the fuck, he's got to play the part
- 48:01because. If someone dead off, put it in
- 48:03the eyes and call me people, I gotta have the.
- 48:05Masculinity. Wow.
- 48:07That word? Masculinity.
- 48:11If he hasn't got it like a hundred 110 testosterone's.
- 48:15Out of 100, he cancelled. Yeah, if he's not chopping.
- 48:18Wood in the backyard. I don't want to hear it.
- 48:20I don't want to hear it. And that's not us being sexist.
- 48:23That's just like, you can't pull it off, bro.
- 48:25Yeah, so don't. Even try.
- 48:27Yeah. You were mentioning how this
- 48:29book is in lumps. It lumps, yeah.
- 48:33Can I just take us to the next lump?
- 48:35Let's move on from the sex. Lump, yes.
- 48:38So that's fine. The next lump is when it's about
- 48:40halfway through the book, everything just suddenly takes a
- 48:44weird turn, and suddenly everything's about ghosts,
- 48:48blonde children running around the house, creepy dude standing
- 48:51behind the trees, and Michael's fucking antique coin out of
- 48:54nowhere. Out of nowhere, there's no.
- 48:56Flow. There's no flow into it.
- 48:58And it was just like, cool, This is a fucking conjuring.
- 49:00Book me out. Like go.
- 49:02And I was like, did I accidentally press something on
- 49:04my Kindle? I mean, like we literally had.
- 49:06Two bits where it was like, oh, there's creaking in the house
- 49:09and we're like, yeah, it's an old house, but then it's like.
- 49:12Creaking in the house. It goes from pure sex to
- 49:14creaking in the house. My cupboards are everywhere.
- 49:16The TV's standing on the doorbell keeps going just out of
- 49:19fucking nowhere. There's a poltergeist.
- 49:21Yeah, poltergeist. There's a little kid running
- 49:24around my backyard and I need to get security cameras because
- 49:27yeah, my. Security cameras don't work.
- 49:30This random man looks familiar. And there was an entire chapter
- 49:34about old love. What's the name?
- 49:36Whose cousin or sister or whatever is the medium?
- 49:40Oh yeah, so but why do we? Need a whole chapter, so Fiona
- 49:43is the house. She comes Mondays and she, her
- 49:46sister Claire was a medium, but immediately that whole thing,
- 49:52she's going through all of that when Aiden tells her she needs
- 49:55to get her shit together and work out the room.
- 49:59That's why that happened, because there was no fucking,
- 50:01because she was too busy getting clarity.
- 50:04And The funny thing is he was like, we should have space, but
- 50:09then later got mad about it and be like, I didn't know the space
- 50:12would turn into distance. I'm like, fucking what?
- 50:16Get fucked. Get fucked.
- 50:17That's what happens. With space, yeah.
- 50:20Idiot. Like, don't be surprised when
- 50:25you don't hang. Out as much and stop.
- 50:27This is what you wanted. You also have a.
- 50:30Yeah, like you could have initiated or said I made a
- 50:32mistake or put some effort in bro.
- 50:34What effort has Aiden done so far?
- 50:37Absolutely. Has he even fixed the roof.
- 50:39We don't technically even know he's never he put.
- 50:42Patchings on it or a top? The weather has been too hectic.
- 50:46Oh mate, Eddie could have done that for free and she wouldn't
- 50:49be having loose balls. Exactly.
- 50:51So before that happened, she goes to, she gets jealous and
- 50:55goes to dinner. And This is why they're on a
- 50:57break. Yeah, because she's goes to the
- 51:00building Eddie suggests, and there's no therapist there
- 51:04there. How conveniently is a medium
- 51:07like a psychic, where she gets her tarot red and then she's
- 51:11free for free again, and then she's really jealous and because
- 51:15he's walking in with his friend's wife?
- 51:18And that was so weird that didn't make sense.
- 51:21When you think about the end of the book, no it did not.
- 51:24Make any. I'm still confused about that
- 51:26part. It was just to make her look
- 51:28like a clingy bitch, essentially, Yeah, but I don't
- 51:31understand. The friends anyway.
- 51:33Paranormal. OK, so the smartest thing she
- 51:35ever said to herself is when Kayla said maybe I should go see
- 51:39a therapist. That seems as if it might be
- 51:42money better spent. And I'm like, yeah, girl, yeah.
- 51:45And then she doesn't. Go to therapy.
- 51:47I know. Well, she attempted to find the
- 51:49office, so that's nice. It's called Google though.
- 51:51Love. She could have had any other
- 51:53therapist. But it's called.
- 51:55Google someone close by. Yeah, it's called Go to the
- 51:58Yellow Pages. This therapist near me.
- 52:01Yeah, it's that simple. There's a map that comes.
- 52:03Up with little dots. Choose Eddie's therapist.
- 52:07Why would you trust Eddie anyway?
- 52:09I. Know they arranged the seance to
- 52:13be later on when it's quote UN quote, the right timing, yadda
- 52:16yar. Which is convenient for us as
- 52:17book readers because then they just go back to fucking once
- 52:20they reestablish. But they didn't really.
- 52:23Reestablish anything? She's rocked back up at his
- 52:25house, right? Yeah, I think they're still.
- 52:27Kind of on the break, though, because he was like, you need
- 52:30clarity. Ready first.
- 52:32But he just wanted her to take the ring off.
- 52:33Yeah, but he wasn't man enough to say that, yeah.
- 52:37Just man up, Aiden. It's not that hard.
- 52:38Or at least tell me why you're wearing it.
- 52:40Yeah, that. At the bare minimum, even Aiden
- 52:42deserves that, Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:45Like he's investing his own time and feelings into this, yeah,
- 52:48whole life. He's putting his whole bodusi
- 52:51into this. He's putting his whole Dick into
- 52:53your ass. Like, at least let him know.
- 52:57I mean you want this to. Be long term.
- 52:59And you're not even telling him your husband's dead.
- 53:01I know, like make it make sense, girl.
- 53:05So she's getting. Quanted to.
- 53:06The shit house. I love it.
- 53:09I'm just like. It's fine.
- 53:10We'll just be passing it. At this point, it doesn't
- 53:12matter. She's getting quanted to the
- 53:14shit house. Yep, her doorbell's.
- 53:16Going on and on. She's still getting the letters.
- 53:20By Dante, longer one. So they're telling her she is a
- 53:23storm because there is a storm outside.
- 53:24You know, why is she responding? You know what I mean?
- 53:28Like, he has to be responding to something because he keeps
- 53:30responding with stuff back. Yeah.
- 53:33So there is a dialogue happening.
- 53:34Just sell your house and move. Why am I talking about a sex
- 53:38scene again? So maybe this is when they were
- 53:40hooking back up. Yeah, so there was one point she
- 53:42was running around the house and then it literally says grabbing
- 53:46me by the scruff of my neck. He pulls me back against his
- 53:48body and wraps an iron arm around my ribs, since when the
- 53:52human beings have a scruff of the neck, she is a bunning.
- 53:57She never said she. Hairy And then they were.
- 54:01Ass. Fucking again.
- 54:01Right on some couch. Sorry to bring all this back up
- 54:06okay. So afterwards, she still had her
- 54:08ass in the air. What are you doing?
- 54:12No prep. No.
- 54:13Prep So who knows what's oozing out?
- 54:15Airing her ass out at that point.
- 54:18I mean, do you need to? She did, apparently traumatizing
- 54:22this is. Traumatizing.
- 54:24This is why she needs to air it out.
- 54:25Maybe she's just she's got that. Drippy ass wap wap.
- 54:30She got that whack. Whack ass.
- 54:34She got that way. She.
- 54:37Got that moist. Asshole.
- 54:39She got that Betty Crocker asshole.
- 54:44I'm done. Okay.
- 54:44No more anal. No more anal.
- 54:46It's not that you're so quick on.
- 54:47That one. I'm just gonna cancel myself.
- 54:50Okay. I'm fine with it.
- 54:53Okay, trigger over. Anal.
- 54:56Over. No more anal.
- 54:59We're moving. Back to the paranoid.
- 55:01We're moving. We're moving forward.
- 55:03Forward. We'll probably move back.
- 55:06We're moving. Upward and onward on to better
- 55:09things. So Aiden keeps bringing up that
- 55:13he's scared of being hurt. Yeah, and she's.
- 55:15Still, at this point, she's still this is getting into a
- 55:18girl. She hadn't explained the wedding
- 55:20ring, and she just kind of keeps ignoring the topic.
- 55:23There's only so many ways you can keep ignoring it.
- 55:26Yeah, you know, it's just like, what?
- 55:28The thing about the writing about this book?
- 55:31Aiden's pretty much described to be the love of her life, which
- 55:36doesn't make sense. Like we know barely anything
- 55:38about Michael. At least give us more.
- 55:41For us to compare why he's so much better than Michael, you
- 55:44know what I mean? We have nothing on Michael.
- 55:46We know that he has schizophrenia and we don't even
- 55:49know that by then. Yeah, we don't know.
- 55:51We know the bare minimum. We don't know that.
- 55:53Yet all we know is he's a bit of a Dick.
- 55:55Yeah, he's bit rude. And so if if Aiden's the love of
- 55:59her life, like you've got to tell us why, there's nothing.
- 56:03And she's moving on from her full marriage.
- 56:06So you just assume when you have this bare minimum information,
- 56:10you assume that that marriage meant something to her, Right.
- 56:12Because you just assume. Yeah, so.
- 56:15So this guy is supposed to be important.
- 56:18She's like, ooh, Aiden, like love with him.
- 56:20Never thought I'd ever be in love with someone again, yada
- 56:22yada. And he'll pop into every scene
- 56:26and the the most substance he ever says is something like, Oh
- 56:31my God, then fuck. I can bang my little Bunny right
- 56:33in the Boo hole. That's all he's bringing to the.
- 56:36And you're like, that's the love of your life, girl, yeah.
- 56:40Hit it with your car. That's the man.
- 56:42You chose oh God. It's giving 15 year old energy.
- 56:48That's. Honestly, if you.
- 56:50Think about you take away all the sex scenes.
- 56:54All that explicit talk, it's giving 12 year old reading
- 56:59level, it's giving 13. Year old virgin who doesn't know
- 57:03how sex works? No.
- 57:05And they're trying to sext. Like that's what the sex scenes
- 57:07were like. Reminds.
- 57:09There's a bit in there where he she goes, Aiden's not sexing me
- 57:13up anymore or something, or he's still sexing me up.
- 57:16And that was just as traumatic as the licking and the nipple
- 57:20milk. The clip Is this author OK?
- 57:24Have they had sex? Lately, do we need to?
- 57:26Read a different book by them to compare maybe.
- 57:29Do they need to know? About the birds and the bees,
- 57:32like are we going back there is this?
- 57:35Do they need an anatomy book? Do they need sex Ed?
- 57:41That's sort of one of the most fucked up things we could say
- 57:43about someone who's trying to write sexy books.
- 57:46And they Do they need some sand? No.
- 57:48But it's giving lack of education.
- 57:52There's a whole TV. Called sex education that does a
- 57:55little bit more, but there is a bit.
- 57:58I'll see if I can find it because it literally send me.
- 58:03This whole book is sending us into.
- 58:04Orbit every 5 minutes she goes. He flexes his hip when he says
- 58:10here, letting me know he's not done sexing me up yet.
- 58:13Isn't that a song I wanna sex? You up maybe?
- 58:17That's where she's. Getting this from.
- 58:21So can I just say for someone who's supposed to be giving soul
- 58:24mate energy? It's not enough.
- 58:27It's just not enough. I'm done.
- 58:30It's just it's. Just this is your soul mate off.
- 58:42But then look on the other. Hand They're taking each other
- 58:46off the dating scene. It's fine.
- 58:49It's a win win for. Someone oh, when is a win?
- 58:53Just. Not for them.
- 58:54It's like a double negative. It's just fine, OK, So we we
- 59:00we're getting towards the end we are we're getting.
- 59:03Towards the paranormal and why it was so annoying.
- 59:07Dude, this is when the book was like fully had changed genres.
- 59:11Yeah, and This is why lots of people got upset about it later.
- 59:15I, for one, don't give a fuck because you take me on all the
- 59:18twists. I'm gonna give a fuck where we
- 59:19end up. Yeah, that's your choice As the
- 59:21other. That's wrong to me.
- 59:23I mean, it was. A twisty twist, yeah.
- 59:26It did take me off guard, yeah. But that's what I like.
- 59:29Because one thing that I'll appreciate about this book is it
- 59:32didn't drop fun. There was no consistency.
- 59:35There was no knowing a single thing.
- 59:38I was confused from day one. And I never stopped being.
- 59:42Yeah, I know. That's what I.
- 59:44Liked. About it because other times,
- 59:46and I don't understand this. Someone please explain it to me.
- 59:48If this is what you need to do, explain why.
- 59:50Why would you look up a book to make sure something's happily
- 59:54ever after? First, you're.
- 59:57Looking at me like this is exactly what I do, but.
- 1:00:00Why is? Trying to spoil it because,
- 1:00:02like, why do you need to know the ending before you even
- 1:00:05commit to the book? Isn't the point of a book to not
- 1:00:08know the fucking ending? Okay.
- 1:00:09Well, I never look up the. Ending, but I need to know the
- 1:00:12general web if it's going to be good enough for my expectations.
- 1:00:17But some people said that they were so upset that the author
- 1:00:20didn't confirm when they put the book out.
- 1:00:23If it was a happily ever after, no, I don't care.
- 1:00:26Every romance, somehow, is a happily ever after.
- 1:00:31Like have. You found a book.
- 1:00:33That is not because we've been looking for one where they just
- 1:00:36stay apart forever and it has not happened.
- 1:00:39That's my dream. That's my.
- 1:00:40Favorite. No, that's what I mean.
- 1:00:41When you pick up a romance, yeah, well, that's the genre.
- 1:00:44Isn't it? There's some level of happily
- 1:00:46ever after. I guess I get labeling it wrong.
- 1:00:50It was definitely labeled wrong I.
- 1:00:53Get. That but.
- 1:00:54Also, who cares? Yeah, it was not in the.
- 1:00:58Right category, no, it was not. If the categories were not
- 1:01:01category, but honestly, what is in this book, There's a lot.
- 1:01:05It's. Very.
- 1:01:06Fitting to have. It in the wrong category.
- 1:01:13That's why I've. Never been so.
- 1:01:15Confused by a book? I have like not finished a book
- 1:01:18before because it's so annoying. But I've never I if we didn't do
- 1:01:22it for the podcast, I would not finish it because I did not know
- 1:01:25what the fuck was going on and that annoys me.
- 1:01:30Paranormal. Keep trying to get there.
- 1:01:32And we keep going. Down.
- 1:01:33We're getting somewhere, I swear to God.
- 1:01:36It's just hard like this is. Just as.
- 1:01:39As a book, so. Don't you love how he had the
- 1:01:42typical book boyfriend? He smelt like cedar Musk and
- 1:01:47hood smoke. Okay.
- 1:01:49Well, I never seem to see him outside.
- 1:01:53I know he's. Not chopping any.
- 1:01:55No. He seems like an indoor.
- 1:01:56Girly he is an indoor. Girly he He's on the roof.
- 1:02:00Girly I was 90. 2% of the book, right?
- 1:02:04And things are still not making sense, but anyway.
- 1:02:07If I had to read Fight Club one more time, I was going to
- 1:02:10fucking eat my Kindle. I was.
- 1:02:12Going to be done, I'm. Like I've come too far to.
- 1:02:16Hear this throwback? Every time I thought we were
- 1:02:19getting past it. And why there was no?
- 1:02:23Fight Club. Energy No what?
- 1:02:26No. OK.
- 1:02:27I've got a question for you. SO.
- 1:02:30New Year's is. Coming up is your ideal way to
- 1:02:32spend New Year's in some fucking dinghy.
- 1:02:36On some fucking little like so that you can fuck and listen
- 1:02:40Fireworks, to be fair, they don't make.
- 1:02:43Any sense as people I love how? He's like.
- 1:02:47Have you heard of the refractory period?
- 1:02:48And she's like, yes. And he's like, well, my Dick
- 1:02:52hasn't. And then she was about to fuck
- 1:02:54him. And then he's like, no, hold
- 1:02:55that for actually, we're going to go do this in a fucking boat.
- 1:03:00Mosquitoes. Why bring it up then?
- 1:03:02I don't talk about the erection. If we're not fucking naughty,
- 1:03:07naughty. We don't ignore it if it's just
- 1:03:09in the. I know so.
- 1:03:11The lead up to? New Year's is the seance, the
- 1:03:15crazy shit going on in the house, the little kid running
- 1:03:19around, the birds dying. There was a lot of dead birds.
- 1:03:23None of it ever made sense. None of it ever.
- 1:03:25And none of. It and then.
- 1:03:27This made creepy child. Running around, This creepy
- 1:03:30child running around. Just trying all of his life.
- 1:03:32Literally. Though that queen kept showing.
- 1:03:35Up in places they did the seance.
- 1:03:38It was scary. It was traumatic for her.
- 1:03:41Don't ask me how she. Did it in her husband's.
- 1:03:44Office, She took the ring off for the first.
- 1:03:47Time ever. And then it dropped from the
- 1:03:48ceiling and she had a panic attack.
- 1:03:51And then she was like. Dating problem solved.
- 1:03:53Dating problem? The rings off and then, yeah.
- 1:03:56They. Were like we can't work out who
- 1:03:58this ghost is and is wanting her and then a life jacket just
- 1:04:01showed up on her. Right.
- 1:04:05And then she works it out. And then we're all confused.
- 1:04:09And working anything. Else would you like someone
- 1:04:11needs to hold my hand through this.
- 1:04:13I don't know what's going on so. Do we talk about what happened?
- 1:04:16Sure. Okay.
- 1:04:17So Michael is not dead. Shock.
- 1:04:21Horror. Shock.
- 1:04:22Kayla and Adina because Michael murdered them both.
- 1:04:27So then they go. A little bit back in time,
- 1:04:29because obviously we need to understand what's been going on
- 1:04:31for these full months, yeah, because all we've been reading
- 1:04:34about. Is fucking Did that fucking
- 1:04:36happen? It was in the past.
- 1:04:37No all of. That book was in the Now they're
- 1:04:41on a different plane, I'm assuming because while no wonder
- 1:04:45why they. Didn't need Lube true.
- 1:04:47It's all starting to make sense. It's all starting to make sense.
- 1:04:50So. That little boy lived in the
- 1:04:52house, so someone bought it a month after she died.
- 1:04:56And there was a family living in the house, so all that shit
- 1:04:59moving around was her. She was.
- 1:05:02Haunting the house. And she was haunting them.
- 1:05:04To the sheer house. And this little boy was just
- 1:05:06trying to live with his life, and she kept calling.
- 1:05:08Him like full creepy kid, Yeah, she kept pointing at.
- 1:05:11He kept seeing her. And then what was the man behind
- 1:05:13the? Tree Then Pretty much the man
- 1:05:15behind the tree was Michael, so. When Michael murdered them, so
- 1:05:20he was off his medication. Her and Aiden were living their
- 1:05:25best lives. Actually, the only substance
- 1:05:27they have as a character together, as in romantic, was
- 1:05:31when they go back and look at them before they died.
- 1:05:35That's the only time they have any substance of cutesy
- 1:05:38relationship. But I'm confused about the.
- 1:05:40Timeline then that's where I got confused.
- 1:05:43OK, so the whole first. Part of the book is her in
- 1:05:47denial, Yeah. That she's dead.
- 1:05:49She doesn't know she's dead. But then they met.
- 1:05:51As ghosts, so they were. Together before they were dead,
- 1:05:56right? And then when they were going,
- 1:05:58when that dingy bit on New Year's was before they died.
- 1:06:01That's the night they died. So they went out there.
- 1:06:04Michael thought that. Aiden was working for the CIA,
- 1:06:08stealing his math equations, blah blah blah, shot him in the
- 1:06:11head, and then he drowned Kayla. So all these.
- 1:06:14People they were. Meeting were ghosts.
- 1:06:17Eddie was dead. Eddie was about dead 100 years
- 1:06:20ago, right? And then it was just her coming
- 1:06:24to terms with the fact that she died.
- 1:06:26Aiden was already aware and because.
- 1:06:29Claire kind of said it. She was like, if you can't tell
- 1:06:32them you're dead, they're dead because they'll go in denial.
- 1:06:35They've got to work it throughout for himself.
- 1:06:36So Aiden was trying to get her to work it out, take off the
- 1:06:39ring, work out that her husband was abusive, and kill her.
- 1:06:42It's just that's why it's confusing because it literally
- 1:06:46nothing leads up to it. I know.
- 1:06:49But it's still sad. Yeah.
- 1:06:51But then I. Think I don't understand about
- 1:06:54them being dead is Jake and Deb. Yeah, Aiden's best friend.
- 1:06:58So are they dead too? And that that whole.
- 1:07:01Didn't make sense? No, because.
- 1:07:03The reason Eddie made sense was he was already dead.
- 1:07:06She pulled out her old card and then the psychic was seeing her
- 1:07:10because she was a ghost. But then Jake and Deb, are they
- 1:07:14also dead? Yeah.
- 1:07:15When did they? Not been there in denial and
- 1:07:17then they hadn't come to terms with it.
- 1:07:19Yeah, I don't know. That's the only.
- 1:07:21Part I can, That's what I was. I thought like some.
- 1:07:23Bits were real life and then some bits were not.
- 1:07:26I know how. When he killed them, he was
- 1:07:28wearing the hat and the coat. So I'm assuming.
- 1:07:32It was her memory trying to tell her that it was someone had
- 1:07:36killed. And it was just yeah.
- 1:07:39But OK, so just imagine you're about to die, so you're Aiden.
- 1:07:43He's kind of distracting him away from Kayla so that he's
- 1:07:47going to get shot and. She's on.
- 1:07:49And then the last thing he says to her though, is.
- 1:07:52I love you, Bunny. I love you until the end of
- 1:07:54time. It's like, bro, you just fucking
- 1:07:56confess that you guys love each other.
- 1:07:58I know he's gonna. Shoot her.
- 1:07:59Like, you know what I mean? I'm like, bro, why did you even
- 1:08:02bother? Why did you bother pretending?
- 1:08:03And is that really worth it saying I?
- 1:08:05Love you, Bunny. She knows.
- 1:08:07I think she. Yeah, like shut up.
- 1:08:09Yeah, and then the. Weird bit at the.
- 1:08:12End you know how. It was implied that Michael was
- 1:08:15a shitty guy and she had a suspicion that he was cheating
- 1:08:18on her, but it was very vague. So in the end, the psychiatrist
- 1:08:23or whatever is interviewing Michael in the prison prison.
- 1:08:28Because he's pending charges or. And he's interviewing him, the
- 1:08:32psychiatrist or whatever. It's like, So what about this
- 1:08:35affair you were having with Karen or Sharon?
- 1:08:38And I was just like. The fact that Michael was
- 1:08:41cheating with the Casa or Shazza just took me.
- 1:08:45Out of. Every other.
- 1:08:46Name So. Kayla realized that she's dead.
- 1:08:49Her and Aiden are reunited. Happy family.
- 1:08:52Ooh, yay. So she's compelled.
- 1:08:54She's feeling like she's moving into the light, so she's got
- 1:08:56this like. And then Aiden's like, now fuck
- 1:08:58that detour. We're going to go fuck.
- 1:09:01This guy over, right? So they go swoop into jail.
- 1:09:06They visit him all. What's that Christmas movie like
- 1:09:09The 12 Nights Before Christmas? And it's giving me like Donald
- 1:09:14Duck and so they swoop into fucking jail.
- 1:09:17What do they say to this man? Boo?
- 1:09:22To be. Multiple times they're saying
- 1:09:24Boo over and over. To be fair, if I was going.
- 1:09:27To fuck someone up, I'd probably sit there and say Boo too.
- 1:09:29Could you imagine? They're like, they're just
- 1:09:31saying Boo to me. You sound more crazy.
- 1:09:34It's giving. Toddler.
- 1:09:35I know it's. Giving toddler.
- 1:09:36But that's so fucking funny to me, because that's.
- 1:09:39Something I would do. I'd be like Boo bitch.
- 1:09:42But it also, it's just like, why are you trying to end it so
- 1:09:44serious? Because you know how they had
- 1:09:45those little, those bits that were supposed to be deep and
- 1:09:47meaningful like death is when? Your memory.
- 1:09:50And and to mingle in me and then they're like, boom, and I'm like
- 1:09:54such high. Like is this book trying
- 1:09:57serious? Are they literally fucking with
- 1:10:00us? I think she must have been so.
- 1:10:05That's the last thing you're going to.
- 1:10:06Say to anybody I would and then you're going to just peace out
- 1:10:10and then could you imagine you could just.
- 1:10:11Go into his jail cell all the time and just but I thought they
- 1:10:14were going to move on from. There, that was their revenge.
- 1:10:17I think that they just. Live not in denial?
- 1:10:20I don't know. Okay.
- 1:10:22Well, I have no idea my idea. Was that they?
- 1:10:24Then were like, oh, we're going to live in this funny lion
- 1:10:28dynamic forever. Like, just eternally.
- 1:10:31Anal fucking into the Sorry I mentioned it again.
- 1:10:34It's just anal fucking into the stratosphere and that's it.
- 1:10:37Like, cool. I don't know how redundant when
- 1:10:40all of these people's. Yep.
- 1:10:42Absolutely meant nothing. Also the letters.
- 1:10:47The letters also meant nothing. Because it was just an anagram
- 1:10:50for Aiden, and Aiden was sending letters, this man had too much
- 1:10:53free time, too much leaving in his.
- 1:10:57Timeline did he die of? A roofer?
- 1:10:59Or did he just magically cook that up to get into a house?
- 1:11:02I don't know. That's what I'm confused.
- 1:11:05About did they? Meet when they were alive, Or
- 1:11:07did they meet when they were dead?
- 1:11:08They had to have met when they were alive because they met them
- 1:11:10when they were alive. They were together and they
- 1:11:12died. Again.
- 1:11:13Someone explained this to me. I feel like I could and I.
- 1:11:16Would just. No, I would explain it terribly
- 1:11:18and it doesn't matter. It doesn't.
- 1:11:20Matter anyway, because we're never going.
- 1:11:23To think about this book again was not about the destination.
- 1:11:26It was about the journey. The journey.
- 1:11:28Was. Australia to fucking Antarctica
- 1:11:32to Canada, like all over the place.
- 1:11:34It was like imagine. You're in Lord of the Rings and
- 1:11:36you do the entire trip, and then you get somewhere and it's just
- 1:11:39like a little fucking pothole in the ground.
- 1:11:43Like that's more. And it's like when.
- 1:11:46You watch Game of Thrones and they literally are somehow in
- 1:11:50every destination at once, right?
- 1:11:52But then nothing. Happens again.
- 1:11:53Yeah. I don't know.
- 1:11:56Like I don't know what. This book was trying to serve
- 1:11:59not consistency. And I felt unsatisfied.
- 1:12:03I felt bewildered. I felt confusing.
- 1:12:09So what should we rate this out of?
- 1:12:12Out of it. Clitty milk no I.
- 1:12:16Knew you were. Going to say it, I was trying to
- 1:12:19start myself from saying it clitty.
- 1:12:22Milk. Milky clitties.
- 1:12:25Okay, how many Milky clitties out of five?
- 1:12:29What? Yeah.
- 1:12:31Dude, like, I gave it 2 and that's being generous.
- 1:12:34I don't. Yeah, I'm not.
- 1:12:35Sure, if a two is for me. I don't even know if it's true.
- 1:12:38I don't know what. Did I get 2 from?
- 1:12:40Because it wasn't what? It wasn't character development.
- 1:12:44It was not sex scenes. It was not banter.
- 1:12:47It was not. It was not anything.
- 1:12:50It was look, I get the romance for the twistiness.
- 1:12:52That's it. Yeah.
- 1:12:54For the surprise, for the strong factor.
- 1:12:58And the quotes were funny. I'm supposed to be.
- 1:13:03I read this book pretty. Quickly considering, I had to
- 1:13:05put it down, so it was. Digestible.
- 1:13:08I feel like it's rewilded. By brain, but not in a good way
- 1:13:12same. Like, I feel like the richest
- 1:13:14scale of anxiety has just gone up.
- 1:13:18Like if I had to relive. This in a couple of months with
- 1:13:20a different book. I'm going to be so traumatized.
- 1:13:22Dude, I didn't. Know it would be so close to
- 1:13:24haunting out alone. In a way.
- 1:13:26Like it wasn't. It was.
- 1:13:27But it wasn't. It was and it wasn't.
- 1:13:30At least you're. Like at least dot dot dot, I
- 1:13:39don't know, I hope. People don't come for us, but
- 1:13:41that's fine. Just come for us anyway.
- 1:13:43It's okay. It's okay.
- 1:13:45We're all we're all safe. You know what I get.
- 1:13:47Why? People like it, but yeah.
- 1:13:52No, I. Think it's the shock value?
- 1:13:54Because whenever I see Tik Toks about it, they're like, oh, that
- 1:13:57twist. It was shocking.
- 1:13:58And that's all that people can say, yeah, and I'm in a couple
- 1:14:01of. Book form rooms.
- 1:14:02And that's all I've seen about it.
- 1:14:04When we read Dun and Dusty, I think about them right.
- 1:14:06Dun and Dusty is it done? And Dusty, done and dusted.
- 1:14:09Done and dusted. Dusted and we should rename it.
- 1:14:15I like. I think about the other
- 1:14:18characters and I'm like, yeah, I.
- 1:14:19Would read that I want to be dusty and you can be.
- 1:14:23Are you sure you want to be dusty?
- 1:14:24Yes, the. Crusty and dusty.
- 1:14:27I want to be the grumpy and you can be the.
- 1:14:30Sunshine. I've got no sun to shine, OK?
- 1:14:33You. Can be.
- 1:14:35You can be. Done with me and I'll.
- 1:14:37Just be dusty. Crusty.
- 1:14:39I will come up with a better. Book than this at least.
- 1:14:42I. Like I think about the side
- 1:14:44characters. And I go, yeah, I read a book
- 1:14:46about them, but I would never read any books in this universe.
- 1:14:50There's not. Enough side.
- 1:14:52Practice to redeem this. There's just nobody.
- 1:14:56Oh shit. We just ripped this one.
- 1:14:58A new asshole without Lube. So look.
- 1:15:02I can't believe I gave it. Too, I don't know what kind of
- 1:15:04thing, what state in mind I was. Would I rate that?
- 1:15:10Because I'll usually rate. Lower than you make my single
- 1:15:12time, Yeah, and I'm usually. Not as like I'm not judging,
- 1:15:16yes. What happened?
- 1:15:18We flip. I think it was because.
- 1:15:22It was just not written well. OK, let's just about to say
- 1:15:26there will be a steaming. Turn on a piece of paper and
- 1:15:29you'll say it wasn't written. Bad.
- 1:15:32There's nothing wrong with this if this.
- 1:15:37It was like the first book this author ever wrote.
- 1:15:39I'd be like, OK, yeah, fair, like, we're learning, We're
- 1:15:42living, we're starting, we're starting somewhere.
- 1:15:45But say they wrote like, 10 other books before.
- 1:15:47This might be like, absolutely not.
- 1:15:49Not your calling. Dude, they're making more.
- 1:15:54Bank than we are, yeah, 100%. Honestly, but.
- 1:16:00No, but get away that it contains 2020.
- 1:16:05Pre-ordered out being very judgmental for.
- 1:16:12Someone who hasn't written a book and I need a chill.
- 1:16:16I need. To have it.
- 1:16:18Let them have it I need to bring.
- 1:16:20Myself back? Down because we haven't read a
- 1:16:22book in a little. Bit we're just being especially
- 1:16:24harsh, which is fine, it's right but for.
- 1:16:28Entertainment value. It is amazing.
- 1:16:31Yeah, we. We never shut up.
- 1:16:33We've been recording for like 10 hours, so that's why they're
- 1:16:39going to do yeah. If you have a small book club
- 1:16:42with your friends, just pick this one up because at least
- 1:16:45you'll have shit to be upset about.
- 1:16:46We're so mad about. But we like this kind of shit
- 1:16:49because it's our only way. Yeah, like if.
- 1:16:52This was just the typical romance.
- 1:16:56We would have been angry anyway, so we never actually happy.
- 1:16:59I'm yeah. So it's fine, it's fine.
- 1:17:01Is that enough? We've ripped enough, asshole.
- 1:17:03Yeah, that's it. Yeah, I'm still 11.
- 1:17:07Girl you clearly. Milky.
- 1:17:09That's fine. I actually want to adjust mine
- 1:17:12to one, but anyway, it's fine. Anything else to add?
- 1:17:15We don't so. And we're done, done and.
- 1:17:18Dusty Coming. 2026 Mark your calendars, 2026 Yeah, I want to.
