- 0:44[SPEAKER_06]: Are you got a gift that you didn't like?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, it's Christmas morning.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: So...
- 0:49[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, energy should be way up.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, because you got that gift.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, Stuart, yeah, we're not, we're actually not recording this on Christmas Eve, but it should be coming out.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure on Christmas Eve.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_06]: So, when you just pretend it's Christmas Eve and then people just waking up with us,
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, good morning, everybody.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that you're having some sort of delicious Christmas Eve.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_06]: Fresh chocolate milk.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, you're a chocolate milk.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: With some marshmallows, cinnamon rolls.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_06]: You're having cinnamon roll and you know what I want to make?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sick of it.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I want to make?
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Panetoni French toast.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know what, a pantotone?
- 1:28[SPEAKER_06]: I love that word.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_06]: I love that word.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: Pantotone or a pantotone?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, there's her words when someone says that you know, like, this has to be a favorite word.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: No, I was on the phone by mom earlier, and she was at Trader Joe's, and she was like, you ever have to spend it on a... Balathon?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's what she said.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I do not like the Trader Joe's, but I don't know him on.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, yeah, so I'm gonna for Christmas day morning like yeah Christmas morning like before we're opening presents I'm making Panotoni French toasts.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so can you tell us cuz I don't know what's in it?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Panotoni is like a sounds great.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: uh... like a big brio shenotami muffin i know that is huge is like a big bread oh my gosh is hell of fluffy this is my weakness what i'm excited so it's an italian um... pretty sure it's like an italian christmas dessert thing and it's what do you what do you dip it in?
- 2:31[SPEAKER_06]: i think you have it with milk like a milk or cold milk
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really eat milk like that.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I think you have it with milk.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: I would probably just have it with coffee.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: And but most of the time, it usually has like dried fruit in it.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like scatters.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_06]: Well, no, no, please.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like raising.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_06]: It's like this is really losing me.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: And there's so many different flavors of pantatoni.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I like just a classic, whatever the classic flavors, I don't know, but then you can get them in, you know, like,
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: Let me in cinnamon ran up shit.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Give me the classic potato Tony.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: I am definitely going to make a cinnamon A French toast recipe and I'm definitely going to post it on the screen.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: So follow me on there.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_06]: You guys But can you please not put raisins in it like a close here?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: You buy it and there's raisins in it already
- 3:22[SPEAKER_06]: That's what the classic that you buy it from the store and then you I will make French toast what I used to do as a kid because we used to have that okay and when I when I am as a kid I would always pick the bread apart.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: to take the raisins out.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_06]: To take the raisins out, like before we would take even a single buy, I'll just take about everybody's eating, everybody's taking all the pieces, I'm still working on this one piece and I'm breaking that shit down.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_06]: So that was me as a kid.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_06]: My plate would have.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_02]: Just hell of raisins on it.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, hell of raisins on it and then I would just need to bread by itself.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the bread is crazy.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is, if you want to get a good pan of Tony, you've got to go, because it has a bad rep.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: But on it, don't it?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Just this rep on it, don't it?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: You guys.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_06]: Why does it have a bad rep?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: It has a bad rep because if you have a bad one, it's hell a dry.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's so dry, the flavor is kind of like a fake sort of like processed muffin that comes in a plastic bag.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, because that sounds just bad.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: So it has a bad rep, but you got to go.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know like in luckily New York is full of Italian Italian little like mom and pop own shops where you can go you get yourself amazing Italian like um You know cold cuts like prostuto salami like so many different things you can get all these like imported Italian
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: cheese and shakuduri and tomato shit.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's amazing.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: So we have a lot of those because the obviously Italian American Sorry, obviously Italian American and why see it's a whole thing.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: So there's so many places you can get good fun at Donet
- 5:13[SPEAKER_06]: All right, I'm excited.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: And before to make yourself the dearest of the service, I don't know, like, do some research, figure out what is a good planet on a brand?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Because you better have a good one.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_02]: Don't buy no cheap, dry pantatoni.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'm going to say for now.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: But we're not here to talk about that.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: I hope everybody's having a good conversation.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: I hope everybody's having a good Christmas.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's having, you know, if you have any photos, if you're listening to the pod, around the holiday days, share it.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going on a walk, pre Christmas dinner, and you're listening to pod, send it to us, you know what I'm saying?
- 5:51[SPEAKER_06]: Shout out to everyone's dog.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_06]: I'm so sorry.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_06]: I haven't been, and the collecting you guys,
- 5:56[SPEAKER_06]: you haven't really been sharing it can't just like people need to to let us know when you're on a walk walking your dog well no the the shout out to your dog phenomenon was at its peak when I was mentioning that she at the end of every episode that bring it back next year we got to bring it back you know I mean so if you if you're going on a walk with your dog listen to the part please screenshot if you had a park
- 6:22[SPEAKER_06]: You know how you can put the photo on the photo and then screenshot and tag us.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_06]: Do that shit because we miss it.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_06]: And we see everything on one, or at least like, you know.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know what you should do now?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's like the, I don't know if it's on it.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: Is it on like the new phone?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't figured it out, but you know how now?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's either Instagram has it or my phone has it.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's gonna say like now you have like the dual photo.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: and the tool video where it's like you can take, maybe it's only on new phones, you can take all of the new phones on like the front and the back at the same time.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I don't have that new phone.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I have that new phone, but I haven't figured out that feature yet.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I gotta figure that out.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, if you are just just share something about what you're doing today, but
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about something that we talked about at the end of last episode.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: So if you have a listen, so if you haven't listened yet, listen to the last episode.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_06]: Go back in turn.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but I specifically hung out with a new friend today.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: If you listen to a few episodes back, and maybe it was like the Patreon.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: I was talking, we were talking about like making new friends.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: We have some friends that moved, et cetera, and today I hung out with somebody new that we've been trying to hang out since January.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: And we both haven't made the time and enough effort to really plan to hang out.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: I was one of those people that it's like, oh, yeah, let's hang out.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yes, totally, we need to get together.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: It just never do.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_06]: That's 12 months ago.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so almost 12 months ago.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now we hung out, it was lovely, it was great.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: And when I was hanging out with a new friend, I, you know, you're meeting somebody sort of like you're making a new friend.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: So you have to go over the whole life history.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_06]: That was funny.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: What's funny?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_06]: It's last episode.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_06]: Or the one before that, or maybe you will spate you on, that Alio was like, you know, I just don't have space for making new friends, I just got, I think I'm just good for now, you know?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_06]: And then here you are, when I was hanging with this new friend, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: I said that that, that's how I felt like a few months ago, I felt like my friend roster was like, good.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, you know, like I felt like I barely feel the friends that I have now that I ain't got time for a new friendship because a new friendship we got a nurturing You got to spend time together before you really get in that friend friend.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right Anyways, the someone we're here to talk about if you want to say that I episode I think it's on patreon so go over there
- 9:00[SPEAKER_06]: a lot of episodes, full video episodes.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you want more, it is by Gompageon.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's linked in the description.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: What's it to read to the resume?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I was thinking about this friend today, and you know, if you've seen that TikTok trend or whatever trend, where it's this audio, and on the top of the video, it says,
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: When you made a new friend and you're you're an adult and you just made a new friend and then the audio says Okay, chapter 54 what the fuck did I marry goes into like what does this sound like sex in a city
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: because it is something, it's like that vibe.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're reading so many for the first time.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like across several times because they're hanging out.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: You like keep going back in time to like explain your history as a person.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Cause like when you meet somebody in your annoying years, you sound like just like carry.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Did I?
- 9:55[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_06]: Did you hear that?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do it again.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: Can't do it on command.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: But so that's kind of, oh, sorry.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of,
- 10:03[SPEAKER_06]: don't break this chair.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what was happening today.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I was talking about, you know, my life, I lived to you, then I lived there, then all these things.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I every time I tell the story of how I used to dance ballet.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: wanted to make making my career was my entire life, and then one day it was kind of over.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't have a job, I didn't have a contract, the only way I was injured, so coming back from my injury, timing was bad, and long story short, like it was over.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I could have if I really really wanted to, I could have found a way to dance for another
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I decided not to because I was like I'm fed up with this shit like it's open for me And then also the next year COVID happens so even if I would have stayed in another year, it would have been over anyways So I bring that up because as I was talking to her like that's a story that I say all the time You know the same people with you where it's like you explain okay You came to the US with basketball That was everything to you that's all you want it to do and then like one day that should is just over
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think for me, even though like that part of my like I can still remember so vividly
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: how it felt for that to be over because it was my entire life.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: It was everybody.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Everything that I was was like, Alia being a ballet dancer, Alia, like that was my entire identity.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: That was my entire trajectory.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I ever saw.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_06]: It was a little bit different for me.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_06]: I didn't have that with basketball.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_06]: I was just decent at it and I was giving it a shot.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it wasn't my identity.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like, didn't people think of, oh, Yoni, oh, he plays basketball.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_06]: But it was a time where I played soccer.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_06]: It was a time where I was skateboarding.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_06]: It was a time where I was doing the ball.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm talking about seriously.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you didn't move to the US to go to skateboarding.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_06]: I know.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_06]: But that seriously you're talking about?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_06]: You asked about for me started at 14 years old.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_06]: Oh.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean still.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_06]: When you were 14 years old, you've been doing ballet for 14 years.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_06]: No, I was too much for ten years, but what I'm saying is is that you started like a late, late thing for me.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, yeah, for me, ballet was like since I was so young.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_06]: And I also didn't feel basketball in my bones like you felt with ballet.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_06]: That was like in you.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was everything.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: So when that was basically over, I, I had to do like the biggest pivot.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: of my life that I probably will ever have to do.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully I don't have to ever do something like that again.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: We're have to just figure out my life from zero all over.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: And like where I end, and when I was telling the story,
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: to kind of make it a little bit lighter, which like now it is, you know, it's just a story of like, that part of my life, but after I finished saying that I was like, but you know, like, I don't regret anything and I'm for like reflecting on where I am now.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy that things turned out the way that they did.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: And that's something that I attached to that story all the time.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: When I say, like, I'm really happy how things turned out despite everything.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: but then I also remember how ridiculously painful that time was.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: How I just couldn't believe it, how I was so disappointed in myself, but I was also like, my relationship with ballet was so toxic.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah, you did not wanna see anything.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_06]: You didn't wanna hear ballet.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_06]: If you saw a picture of someone doing ballet, you would've got off.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: It literally was like, if you imagine a toxic relationship where you love somebody so, so, so, so much with your entire being and after they put you through so much hardship of trying to get them to love you back and all these things and in the end you still lose, despite all your best efforts to make that person love you just as much as you love them.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: It ends with them still not loving you and them leaving you.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: Think about the heartbreak you must feel.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: After so many years of your life devoted to this person, that's exactly how I felt.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody heals from that.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody feels good and has closure from that.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: And also, you're always going to feel this sort of like, um, what do you call it like resentment revenge?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like, uh, you're going to have a grudge against this person.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_06]: You had a grudge against that against
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: my last straw with this life, like you meant when I was trying to make it.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'll make you when you was still in a shit.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: I got it.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: I was injured and after healing from that injury is when the real heartbreak was going to happen.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: So you're right there for that.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm basically making this point to say, I'm kind of trying to personify what this relationship was to me.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: Because everybody can think of one X that they had a relationship they were in.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: That just broke their heart.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: That just just really shred of that shit to pieces.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_06]: And you did not deserve it.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: And in the moment, you're just like,
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: And like all you feel is just pain, and all you feel is just like, you can't feel, you can't fall asleep, you can't do your homework.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Just want to see like, if this shit and like, oh, it's just, it's terrible.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: And you're holding onto this grudge and it's heavy and it's dark in your heart.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you just can't let it go.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it's so, that feeling is so real.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's the only real thing.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's like there's nothing else but this.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_06]: But even when people tell you, which is actually the truth.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_06]: But people always say, time will heal.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_06]: The only way you can heal from this is time.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_06]: There is no, there is no therapist.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_06]: You can go to, that's going to make you feel better.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, no, wait, wait, wait.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hold on.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: you can do things to make you so feel better.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like going there, peaking help, like working on your on things helps.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think that the thing that helps, I mean, it's time.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_06]: It's time the other things can help, obviously.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because I also don't want to say, like, go to therapy doesn't help, because that's not true.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, but I just want to say, if someone just broke my heart,
- 17:04[SPEAKER_06]: If someone just broke my heart that way, right?
- 17:06[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_06]: The next week I go to therapist, they're not going to make me feel bad.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, it's not like an instant.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's like an instant bandage.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_06]: So that's what I'm talking about.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're still going to be bleeding for a minute, but eventually your brain, your your body's going to create some platelets in your assort.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_06]: At least for my heartbreak that I've had in the past, it was just time that that made it go away.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, in life, these little heartbreak, like, there's big ones that I just described.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's like medium size ones that's still annoying and like, you know, they still hurt and they're real in the moment.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then a month later, you almost forgot about that shit.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: But then the big ones are the ones that are going to make like a huge difference in your life.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why I bring this up is because there are so many things, I mean, that one is really a big one for me because if that didn't happen and let's say I did get a job in ballet, I don't know what the hell my life would look like now.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't know what I even be happy.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea But I'm also looking at crazy to think about all the things that I have now.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: I have a beautiful marriage I'm gonna have a beautiful child soon and not I'm not pregnant guys.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry But I'm just saying like I want to see it We live in New York
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I get to do the job that I get to do.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: I get to meet so many cool people.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: I get to touch and have these conversations that I care about, you know?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, life would have been weak.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_06]: Like, it couldn't be more opposite.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's like I get to not be.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: I get I get to have a better healthier relationship with my body than I would have a photo continued.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's so many things.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so grateful for now that I would not have now.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: If that heartbreak didn't happen.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I think something that we often have a debate about is were things meant to be or do things just simply work out.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because at the end of the day, it's because things are meant to be or is it because we just have to adapt.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: You just have to make your work.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever the shit is, whatever the problem is, whatever the hard break is, you don't get to just stay still.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: Life goes on, so if you have to do something.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, life goes on and life doesn't care what's happening to you.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_06]: It's just gonna continue.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_06]: I remember there's so many things like that that happening my life to, this is not like a,
- 20:01[SPEAKER_06]: that kind of heartbreak I would say in mind is like a very the example about to give is about failing a class and some of you may have failed classes before maybe some never failed a class before don't know what that feels like but I failed a math class before and I remember I was like because this was the only the last class I needed to graduate college
- 20:25[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and I needed to pass that class.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_06]: If I don't pass that class, I have to go to summer school and I don't get to graduate on time Everything is just set back.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_06]: So I gave my grade back and I'm like a few points away from I don't know.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_06]: I remember I was really close to passing the class.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_06]: And it was I just failed you know, and
- 20:53[SPEAKER_06]: I remember I was in Seattle and I used to go to this building that I used to love in Seattle.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_06]: You get the view of the whole city, and it was an evening, I think it was right before Christmas break or something, and I was so sad that I didn't pass the class so I was crying.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_06]: Mmm, you ever cried because of a class.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, totally.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so I was crying that I didn't pass the class But I'm because I didn't pass the class.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_06]: It was like I wanted to graduate so badly.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I wanted to be done with it I was so done with school
- 21:30[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I feel that I was looking forward to the day that I do not have to go to a class or do homework again.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_06]: That was me, right?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_06]: And I felt that math class.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_06]: So I go up to this building.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_06]: It was really high floor somewhere out of no 42nd or whatever.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_06]: And I was just like looking out to the city.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_06]: And I, I mean, looking back on it now is so dramatic.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: There are so many moments that it's like we're just being direct as fuck.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_06]: It was so dramatic, but in that moment I felt like my life was just not over, obviously.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_06]: But I had to go tell my parents because at the time I stayed with my mom and my stepdad.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_06]: And I just remember thinking like, oh my god, they're not going to believe this.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_06]: They're going to be so mad.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_06]: And I was mad on myself.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_06]: So what do I do?
- 22:20[SPEAKER_06]: I was just like, you know what?
- 22:21[SPEAKER_06]: You're going to fix this moment.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_06]: this is not you're gonna pass this class so I wanted to like make it happen so you know what I grab my phone and I say I'm gonna email the teacher right now and tell him how bad I need to pass this class the teacher has no idea how I'm feeling the teacher doesn't care what's happening my brain it was just another grade for that
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's like some other person.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_06]: So I wanted to crack the code.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_06]: I wanted to be like, I'm going to get in his feelings.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_06]: I want to get him, so he understands how I feel.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_06]: So I write him this along as email.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it's like one of those emails that you open, and you just don't want to read.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: And especially because it's about the Christmas break.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my god.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_06]: I know enough.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, especially since he just turned in all the bread all all the grades.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know what about the cheese?
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: Just done.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_06]: He's done.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_06]: He's like, oh, cool.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_06]: So anyways, I seldom do the long ass email.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, and you know, this is what happened and this is why I failed because I couldn't do this.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_06]: Please, I really need to graduate.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_06]: You don't even know my story.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my god.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_06]: I just gave him my life story in that email.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_06]: I gave it everything I had.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_06]: And then I send it, didn't hesitate, whatever, I just sent that shit.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_06]: Because I can't do anything else.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: Here's in Yoni's eyes right now.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: And now right now, I'm not saying, like, when you're typing that.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, and then I sent it and I just walked home.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_06]: And the next morning I wake up and I saw his response and he was like, I'm so sorry, Yoni, I can't do this.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, do what?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: What did you ask him to do?
- 24:06[SPEAKER_06]: I, well, I basically told him, can you like pass me?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously he can't.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_06]: I know, but I had to try something because I was, I already failed.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, he's a minute, that's not ready.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_06]: So I was just like, can you please, like, maybe you can change something?
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or like, okay, so he say it can't.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_06]: he can't do it and I was sad all over again and then I finally had to tell my parents.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_06]: So anyways, so the reason why I brought this example up is because I remember exactly how I was feeling in the moment and I was like life is so fucked up right now.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like life is just over.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's everything is bad.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_06]: It was dark out.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_06]: It was a Seattle.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_06]: It was probably raining.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_06]: fast forward obviously to now even just like two months after that, you know, I graduated and everything is good.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_06]: I was happy again, right?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_06]: But what I'm saying is that there's so many moments like that and that's just one example.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_06]: So many moments that I had like that in my life where I thought quote unquote, it's over.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's never over.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_06]: It's now you just get through it.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because you have no choice but to get through it.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_06]: I know, but also sometimes the thing already happened.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_06]: So let it happen if you want to cry for a week, cry for a week.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_06]: That boyfriend broke up with you.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_06]: You want to cry for a week?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not even saying, oh, don't cry or be stronger than no.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes you just got to feel some shit.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, of course.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm the queen of feeling shit.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: I hate to feel my fear.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_06]: No, exactly.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_06]: So, you have to feel it because if you don't, you kind of try to like tough it out.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_06]: You never really dealt with it, you have to deal with it and that's what I did time of time again and then now to his advice that I give everybody if anything bad happens to you.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_06]: deal with it.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_06]: If you're sad, be sad because it's actually okay.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_06]: Like I used to think like, oh, you got to be stronger than your strongest feelings.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you got to be stronger than all that shit.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_06]: But it's just like, no, if this shit hurts, it hurts.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_06]: But like, don't let it, obviously, don't, don't let it take over your life.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_06]: It's really important to actually feel whatever it is that's happening because that's just a human.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, sometimes it's just a human thing to do.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's not as violent of things that need to happen for you to realize, like when things when some things don't happen, they're just not meant to be.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: In the scenarios, we gave it's a little bit more like something impactful, it's happening like you fail a class or like your dream is over, you know, things like that that are kind of like on impact, sort of like they're very, like black and white and they had a super
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like in your case, it was a class and you had to like make it up or for me, it was like a lifelong dream and the biggest thing that just felt so disastrous is that I've imagined this for most of my entire life.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the outcome that I've envisioned forever.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's just no longer there.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you're building a house and then the house is just never complete.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's gone.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and then there's the other moments where it could be something that maybe you're not super attached to it's an opportunity that comes up maybe it's a prospect for a new job or it's a potential like
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if you're in the creative world, it's having the other time up, a tent of project they could work on.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: Or it's maybe a prospect of a new friendship, or a prospect of a new relationship.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm saying prospect to make the point that it's something that is relatively fresh on the horizon.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: You're not super attached to it.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're not like, I've worked at this for years or even a year, even six months.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: But still, it's exciting.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're like starting to envision.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Is the same thing when you're like apartment hunting?
- 28:14[SPEAKER_06]: If there's someone who envisioned something way too soon, it's me.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_06]: I can get an email right now about an opportunity.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_06]: In my head, I'm thinking I already made it.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_06]: In my head, I'm thinking, oh, this just happened.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's literally like when you're apartment touring for an apartment or somewhere to move and you look at an apartment and you're already starting to envision like how you're going to decorate like we're going to put the couch Like we're going to put this in that is like that.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_06]: I do this to a fall without especially what opportunities because you really break your own heart.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, if you would get attached and it's too hard for me to not tell people
- 28:50[SPEAKER_06]: If I get a potential brand, right?
- 28:53[SPEAKER_06]: Let's say, for example, everybody knows Nike.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, only we would love to work with you, but whatever.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_06]: In my head, just then approaching me, it's like, I'm gonna do the thing, and it's gonna be amazing, and I'm gonna kill it, like, that's how I think.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: Which is not a bad quality.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_06]: Like, I don't even think that, oh, this is not gonna work out.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_06]: There's a few back and forth, you gotta go.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes you can't even go, she is.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes I'm just like, y'all, let's do the shit.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but so I think this sort of like something new on the horizon is something that can happen anytime as I said whether it's like a new friend that you just made or whatever it is, right?
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I had something like this happen in the summer where I got invited to go actually we got invited.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: to go on a brand event, or on a brand trip.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, I remember.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_05]: And are you talking about the one far away?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: It was going to be that we were potentially going to go back to Japan, you guys.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go back to Japan on flights paid, like state paid.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be like a work trip, which is how these work.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like people fly you out and then you like make, it's a work day.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_05]: That would have been a dream.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I was just like, oh my God, I came late.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: This is happening.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was already like trying to figure it out because this was going to happen on the back of like it was going to be back to back with our trips.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: When I went to Italy and then Yoni was in Belgium, this past summer, and I was trying to figure it out.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: We already got our tickets.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: I was trying to see, like, can I change the ticket?
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't even really talked, like, my agent wasn't talking yet to, like, this part.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, the emails were early days.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: But I got myself so excited.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yoni and I have both got so excited.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: I made it a whole thing to surprise him.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're going back to Japan, you know?
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: All these things I told my mom and mom and all my dad told my sister and my brother.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's excited.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're waiting to confirm all these different things back and forth every day is like, is this happening?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: Are we doing this?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever, trying to figure it out, you know?
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I got ahead of myself because if I'll through and I didn't know, listen, this was, I haven't been on, I've only been on one brand trip before, like, which actually came after that invite.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: But because I had never been on a branch before, I didn't know how they're very volatile.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're they're very last minute last minute and until you're on that plane or don't until you have that that take it confirmation that you will be going to the airport and you have a flight to catch.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_06]: No, until you're there and you met the people.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Basically, nothing is guaranteed and I didn't realize that it's so, like, flip floppy at any point, like, the ruckin' be pulled up, like, from under you.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: I just didn't know that, so I got so attached, so quick, and I think we often do this with new relationships, somebody asks you out, and then you get so excited, and then you get, like, really invested, and you're really starting to see, like, the future, and all these things that
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I went along to a relationship, or I'm not ready for a relationship right now.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: This happened recently one of my friends and she's like, bro, what the hell's going on?
- 32:30[SPEAKER_06]: Do you know how often this happened to me also?
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: Someone would show interest like a girl in school or whatever.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_06]: In my head, I'm thinking like, oh, this could be my future girl.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_06]: This could be my, this is my, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is the, this is
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is the mom of my children.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and we're just on like first date.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_06]: And I'm thinking, like, I think I just met one wife.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_06]: It's so crazy how I had it myself, I'd be.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_06]: Because I just, I just wanted it to happen so badly.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_06]: And I, I just want all the good things to happen.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_06]: But then, you know, people have different, different feelings and sometimes it works out.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes it doesn't.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_06]: And, and, but.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_06]: this is what we're talking about exactly.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_06]: I'm happy that none of those days work because I wouldn't have been here exactly.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_06]: So that's that's I would have never met Alia if I if I if one of those girls was like, you know, actually I am going to be the mom of your kids
- 33:27[SPEAKER_06]: I'm glad you said no because because I'm good you know.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, it's so true.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's so true because I swear if you're listening to this me being you know, if you're listening to this right now everybody can look back
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: on their life history.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure you have many points that you probably already thought of as we're as you're listening to this episode.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: We were thinking like, in this moment, I thought the world was coming down.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: Or in this moment, my sugar turned upside down.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know, up from down.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I just like really didn't know what was about to happen.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I was down in the dumps, and I wasn't feeling good.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_06]: everybody got that.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: And you came out the other side and look at where you are now.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_06]: Listen to WTJ on a beautiful walk on Christmas.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, believe it.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're so anxious.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_06]: No, but it's so true.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's true.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_06]: It's so true.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Everything you think about, it could be a friendship that was no longer serving you and in the moment you're like, damn, I'm really sad.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like when no longer friends, like all these things.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes, there are certain things that don't have a clear outcome.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: There are different things ending.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Jobs you didn't get or like different things like that.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: You still wonder, but what if I would have gotten that?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like, where would I have ended up?
- 34:48[SPEAKER_06]: rejected to a school in different states but then you went to another school in a different state and then you met the love of your life there exactly exactly and in a way it's like this is just how this is just how life works but it's so beautiful no it is people I think it's so it's like
- 35:07[SPEAKER_06]: You know that one school you really wanted to go to, but then they rejected you, so you ended up settling for another school and then you met the level of your life and then now you have a beautiful kids and beautiful children what if that school accepted you like you actually don't know where you would be who you would be who you would be happy in relationship but I also wanted to say before we end if you are in a shitty situation right now.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_06]: Just everything we talked about in this episode, just apply that to your situation and I promise you a week from now, maybe days from now, maybe a month from now, you'll look back and be like, I was either over dramatic like Yoni.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_06]: That'd be dramatic about that.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Or dramatic, right fully so.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: Based on what's going on, I just think like,
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: Whether it's a decision that you're making, whether it's something that happened against your will, whether you were like, go from a job and force to get another job and uh, I don't know, maybe just break up because there's so many things that can happen that in the moment, my feel like you're failing.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: But maybe you're just like, you're forming, like this failure has to happen for you to like go on to the next thing.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: Whether that's a relationship, a friendship, like a place you are gonna live.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: And then you live there.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there's so many, you guys know this trend that's happening online right now where people are using the...
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't wanna say that, I don't wanna say that.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let me think.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: I can't do not let Alias say again.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_06]: I sure got so happen.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know what song I'm talking about right?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, Silver Springs by Mac by a by Fleetwood.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, our guys are our guys right there So you guys know how everybody's using this audio to basically show a clip of them like at at one point in their life and then the writing on top says You know like
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: a guy asked you out in a bar and it's really important that you say yes and then the the song flips and then it shows like them traveling the world and like they have a kid in the house or whatever or it's really important that when you get
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: asked if you want to move to Tokyo, you say yes.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_02]: She's like that, and then it goes into like- Why did you say Tokyo?
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of different things.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: Different moments like that that are basically showing, like it's really important that the decision that you make, you stand by it and you see it through.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: And you also take chances, and you also,
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: like get through the dumps and get through the hardships and know that you're gonna come out the other side the way that you are meant to.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you didn't go through that, you wouldn't be who you are today.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: If I didn't go through my one of the biggest heartbreaks in my life,
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: I would not be as strong as I am now, as mature and self-aware and grown as I am now.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't have the wounds that I have healed from that have taught me so much if I never went through everything that I did.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: If I at one point decided actually there was a point where I was choosing whether or not I want to continue with ballet or not when I had my knee surgery when I was 15.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: There was a point when I hadn't danced for a long time and I was like, honestly, I kind of want to be a regular person.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: Because I wasn't around ballet.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of like, was so excited to be a regular kid and like go to regular high school.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: And, and, yeah, I kind of was like, thinking about it.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, damn, don't want to go back.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to slint to it.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then, what if, in that moment, I could have decided, honestly, I'm good, and I would have just moved back.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: I could have stayed in Seattle.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: Never went back to Canada.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: finished high school in Seattle, and then like who knows, but those four years right there are like three years left over of high school that I then went back to Canada did all that like All the experience that I had was so detrimental to my growth and to who I am now.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: If I would have missed out on it, who would I have been?
- 39:44[SPEAKER_06]: to your growth.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_06]: That's your mental music.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_06]: He wasn't good.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: Was it?
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: Is that what I mean?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it means like impactful.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: It would have been so impactful to my growth or important for.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think you guys get the point.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're kind of repeating ourselves.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's so important to remember because I myself and somebody that catastrophizes and when something shitty happens or something doesn't go, I'm I'm such a planner.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: don't they all yeah okay yeah and I'm trying to get better with that but I think it's helpful in those moments to remember when something is kind of looming over you for several days where you're like damn I'm really like I'm really disappointed that this didn't happen I'm really disappointed that we didn't get to go to Tokyo I don't know I keep saying Tokyo like that
- 40:38[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I don't think about, I don't think about it like that anymore now.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_06]: I feel like the older I got, because I've always been a calm person or like when things go wrong, I always think about exactly what we're talking about now.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's meant to go wrong because something else is waiting for me.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, like so when shit is going when when things are not going the way we want them to And sometimes you wish that I would react differently is because the back of my mind I know that everything is gonna be fine.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a case by case basis.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think so.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_06]: I think everything is gonna be fine And everything has been fine.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean the thing is like everything has to be fine.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like you adapt two things going wrong.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_05]: Okay
- 41:28[SPEAKER_05]: like what's the other place where you know you should have reacted to this?
- 41:36[SPEAKER_05]: Like what can happen for me that I need to break something?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean it's hard for me to think about right now and to the for the record like I've never broken any.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: No no no you're making it seem like something goes wrong at like erosion.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_06]: No but my demeanor I'm always just like okay cool but you're also calm in general.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: Think about, oh, you know what, we're gonna close out on this example, you guys.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: We weren't Seattle, and we weren't together in this moment.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: I was with, who was it with?
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: I was with my friend, and Yoni was with his sister, his mom, our nieces, at the park.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: And Yoni was actually supposed to meet me at my friend's house to hang out a little bit, but then he called me on his way,
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: He calls his sister, his sister's at home at her house, right?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's asking her, like, can you look for the camera?
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: Can't find it.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: She's looking around the house up and now she's at Yoni.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: It ain't here.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's starting to freak out.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_02]: This is a film camera he got in Toronto.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: He got it in Tokyo, went to Japan.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: How many times are gonna say Tokyo?
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: So young is like, not good.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's not freaking out.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_06]: And I wasn't freaking out, but I just would be really angry and sad that I just somehow magically,
- 43:08[SPEAKER_06]: forgot my film, porn and shoot cam that I got in Tokyo that I love very much.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_06]: I use this camera more.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_06]: I have it on me.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like you have your phone.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_06]: Like I have my phone.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_06]: It's like it's like my third arm and you guys know how much I love taking photos.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_06]: So that is just the last thing.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_06]: I need to lose.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_06]: I would
- 43:34[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I don't know.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_06]: He's just like, it's really important.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: It almost feels like it is less, like your phone is more replaceable than the camera.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_06]: So, okay, go ahead, continue.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_06]: That's a good story.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, Yon is like, okay, I think I'm going to go, uh, he's not going to come meet me at my friends anymore.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: So he's going to go look for the camera at the park because he's thinking, what if I dropped it at the park?
- 43:59[SPEAKER_06]: And right now it's already dark.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's already dark.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna rain soon or it rained actually It's already left the park.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: So if the camera was at the park, it probably rain on it.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm like babe I'm not gonna let you go by yourself.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Let me pick you up from the train station and that we'll go together I'm you know the funny thing is right I'm bringing up
- 44:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm bringing up this story to make a point, but I'm gonna fail making that point.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: Because despite, like, if this was me, if this was me and I had lost my camera, that had my work, let's say, let's say I actually had filmed the video that I'd need for work on that camera and then I lose that camera.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: In that moment, if you're trying to tell me, Alia, everything happens for a reason.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: I must slap you.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I must slap you because I'm like, there's no reason for this.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: There's no reason for this because I need this footage.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm failing to make the point that I thought I was going to make because Yoni was actually very calm and collected.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: We were looking for the camera.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't there.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously he was upset.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: But he was not reacting the way I would have if that was me.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_06]: and it's funny because while we were looking for it, we were looking through that park like... We were using our phone flashlights and I'm just walking around the grass.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_06]: It's like wet, dark.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Look, you can't get you.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_06]: Crazy thing back every single step, I'm like, I put the camera right.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_06]: I didn't even put it anywhere, but I was here with the, I took, I went to the last spot where I took a photo of my mommy, my niece.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, I took a photo.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_06]: This was the last picture at the park.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_06]: And I said, obviously, I didn't even have, I didn't see any of the photos, but I knew that this is where I took the last photo.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_06]: So then we go home and kind of talk on to myself.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_06]: Like, I'm calm, but I'm just like, you know, like how I was just angry like this person who took it because I felt like someone took the camera.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because our theory was that if the camera did fall in the park, it's possible that somebody saw it and took it.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and that person does not deserve this camera because they didn't go all the way to Japan to get it and I don't know I was just like Bro, why couldn't you just leave the camera here?
- 46:26[SPEAKER_06]: It's not yours like anyways.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, listen, you find the camera you take right so then you only made peace What the fact that you lost your camera you dropped you back off at your sisters.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: I was meant to like go meet my mom.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: My sister for dinner.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_06]: You feel like I was calm?
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like you almost kind of made peace with it
- 46:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I really did.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_06]: And quick, too.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and what we're talking about is, and this is something so close to me.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was later, it was later, right?
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Yoni, I dropped him off.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's looking.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: He, he, he text, because that all, because then he was like, okay, now I'm gonna go to the house and I'm gonna literally look that house up and down.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_06]: I'm gonna look for this camera.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: But you know sometimes there's people that look for stuff, but they don't really look like they're kind of looking around a little bit.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: But there's some people that are really good at looking for things and binding them.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_06]: It's different.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like, my sister's really good at finding shit.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_06]: It's different when you're looking for something that's yours and you lost it versus looking for someone else's thing you can kind of look and be like God, what you looking for when you're looking for something that's yours and that's meaningful to you you will punish if it's in the house.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's true, it's true.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, I left.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and I felt sorry for you.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: I was felt like
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like how sorry, I felt for you as if I lost my camera and it wasn't even my camera.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: I was trying to imagine how you felt that this is actually your camera that you lost.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I was also sad because all the photos we had from like things giving, with like our family was on there.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_06]: Now, when we were at the park looking for it, I was just kind of like talking to myself, angry or whatever, still calm, but just like frustrated.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_06]: It's funny how calm you are.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_06]: Because you're just looking like you don't say anything.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: You just kind of like, Well, don't say because I'm not used to you being like angry a little bit.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so you out there wasn't saying a word.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_05]: You're just looking like a whole family today.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it would have been worse, like that's how you act when it's kind of your fault that you can't find it.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, has it ever been your fault when like someone can't find something?
- 48:24[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I'm sure, yeah.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you're just like, like, I can't say shit in the shut up.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, we get to the house and I'm looking everywhere.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_06]: Can't find it.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_06]: I made peace with it.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_06]: I was just like, I'm not finding this camera.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, I met dinner with my mom, my sister, hanging out, doing our thing.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably like three, two or three hours after I dropped you off.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_06]: And we're just hanging out.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_06]: At this point, I'm playing with my nieces.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, damn, I'm sorry.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_06]: I can't take a photo right now.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: I, we're walking, me my mom and my sister are walking from the restaurant, from the dumpling shop to the car, Yoni's calling me, FaceTime, FaceTime, and I was like, because I was really sad.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was just like, oh, well done, you know, he's calling me, and then, and then he calls he, I answer, and then I see his face and I'm just like, oh, babe, I'm so so because in the meantime, you had texted me like,
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: maybe when I was still driving from the house from your house, from your where I dropped you off to me, my mom and my sister.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: I saw like on the GPS when I was looking at the GPS, I saw your text saying like babe, it's not here, like I can't believe it's gone.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_06]: So then once I got home, yeah, I felt like somebody like passed away of something.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I feel that.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: So when I got home, I remember I like texted you and I said, like I'm so sorry, like
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: you started sending me like a screenshots of cameras on eBay that you can buy like the same camera again from Japan.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: You're like actually considering it.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's the last thing I saw from you about the camera.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_02]: So then when we're like two hours later, we're walking back to the car and
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: You open the, I open the thing and I see you how like a sad face.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was sad.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like kind of like a silly sad face like trying to be sad a little bit, you know?
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like, and I'm just like, hey, like I'm so sorry.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: They can't find the camera.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: And what did you do?
- 50:41[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember what you did.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_05]: Well.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: You were like, yeah, baby, like you're kind of going along with it and then you move the camera like further away from you.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then you like show that you have the film camera in your hand and you guys I literally screamed in the parking lot.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: My mom looked at me like what happened?
- 51:05[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I had a dramatic on my part, but at the same time really genuinely It was a shame, and yeah, I can tell you what's going on And I just had to face to me because we found it under a blanket on the couch That's how you know you can't trust people looking for your shit
- 51:19[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, it was just like it was under a blanket on the couch you guys and we were yeah Do you ever think when you're you lost something and you're out there looking?
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking tracing back the steps.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we did, yeah In the dark you're like in the mud looking for a shit.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: How do you want it when I'm doing that?
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking if this object
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: Is a person?
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: They're looking down on us like you guys are stupid.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_06]: I'm right here right now and you don't even know I thought I'm always thinking about and my sisters were friends like because we were just like hanging out and stuff You're at the house at that point.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_06]: I was already over the offer, you know I was looking on eBay playing with the nieces and then he's laying on the couch and then there's he was he was laying on top of a blanket And it under the blanket He felt something hard was just like huh?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_06]: So he felt maybe he thought he was like the remote control or something.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_06]: Then it was like, where was this?
- 52:16[SPEAKER_06]: Because he was hitting his head.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_06]: And then he grabbed it and it was the camera.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_06]: I couldn't believe it.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_06]: I was like, it's almost like magic theories.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_06]: That was like that one of my happiest days of this year.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah feeling like you lost something and And finding that shit again.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_06]: Like I almost wanted to go to bed with the camera right next to me
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's just so many, I mean, okay, so I guess I brought that story up to talk about like how Yoni isn't always like calm, but he's actually always calm.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I failed, but we told you guys that story, I guess.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_06]: It's a good story though.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know, more of the story of this entire episode, I think, in general, is it's always a good thing for us to remember that there's many times in our life so far that we have felt maybe how you're currently feeling.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: And you have to come out on the other side and you will and you will adapt.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_02]: So if it feels like I can't believe this guy fuck me over or I can't believe like this didn't work out.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_06]: Or this girl fucked me over.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, I am talking from, you know, I have a few friends that are going through some shit, you know?
- 53:35[SPEAKER_02]: So, so because of that, in the moment you're like, I just can't believe it, and you're kind of in the dumps in shit, girl, guy, just remember, you're gonna feel, you're gonna be fine.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I never heard you speak like that because usually it's me saying all this shit like that's me two alley or two whoever I love the opportunity to tell you guys how important it is to just remain calm and things will work out like I should have a tattoo of that on my own or something.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's really easy to say when you're not in it.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to think of like what's like one of the
- 54:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's like one of the most recent things that happened that was kind of like that.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember, but the camera, my camera.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_06]: No, for me.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's that was like my recent thing.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_06]: I feel like there was maybe something else.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, but, but with your camera, nothing ended up really happening.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I just think it's a good, uh, it's a good reminder.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe going into the next year for all of us to,
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I don't know, be a little bit more like gentle with moments.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you tend to be more like me, I know I can be more gentle in these have some moments that come and test you.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: And instead of trying to rip some shit to shreds, you could maybe look at it as an opportunity for growth.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: And as an opportunity to just, you know, like this just sucks right now, but like it just wasn't meant to happen for me.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's that's kind of it you guys.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_02]: I hope this was a good episode to listen to whenever you listen to because maybe you didn't listen to it Christmas vibes Christmas vibes.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean this is just I don't know I felt right to talk about today I'm glad you wanted to talk about this this topic.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's important and I think it's one of those episodes that
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully it didn't come off like pre-cheek because that wasn't the intention at all.

- 55:41[SPEAKER_06]: I think that times is sound a pre-cheek, like at times.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I think sometimes you gotta get a little pre-cheek that's how you feel.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's sometimes it's okay with it, you know, it's okay.

- 55:50[SPEAKER_06]: But just not too much.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_06]: So, but if we keep talking right now, it'll definitely be too pre-cheek.
