And so with that being said, I would like to introduce to you

my guest. Her name is Sherry Dodd. She's one of three children born

on December to six, nineteen sixty eight, to the late Johnny F.

Dodd and Bellemadd. She's my cousin. She answered the call to ministry.

She's also a cancer survivor. So Sherry, Hello, how are you,

how are you well? Thank you so much for having me here. Thank

you for answering the call to be here tonight. Oh you more than welcome.

I'm just so excited, so exciting, and you never take granted when

people allowed me to come and share on their platform. So thank you for

inviting me absolutely, Um, first and first and foremost, UM, I

would like to say that I know that you are a cancer survivor. I

am. I am. Tell me a little bit about that. Yeah,

at the age of I think, thank you lump and pressed so um turned

sorry. A couple later year check up and like, okay, I got
4:05
a really you're going in and out, You're going in and out. I'm
4:15
sorry. Can you hear me? I can now? Yeah, well I

was. I was thirty seven. Um when when we started this process and

uh, you know I went to my guyologists for really check up and I'm
4:27
like, okay, okay, obviously wasn't well it might be a little something
4:34
there. No, it was very obvious that it was a lump in my
4:39
breast um. So one thing, you know, a type of cancer that
4:46
wouldn't spread. But after the lump was removed, we found out right I
4:56
can't hear me, hear me? Yes? Yeah, okay, so Um,

when you were diagnosed with cancer. Um, what went through your mind?

Honestly? You know when a lot of women received this type of diagnosis,

you know you all. I really didn't. I really wasn't flooded with

a lot of thoughts. My mind sat and my attitude was just like,

okay, oh that I need to do. You know, I'm willing to

do it. I wasn't scared, I wasn't nervous. I didn't cry,

and I never I never ever life to this disease. And I can honestly

say I stood my faith the entirety. Okay, yeah, I mean it

was just like I never I never went to bed at not and I thinking,

oh God was ready to happen. Never like that for me, I
6:10
just just happen. God. Um, I know that you are a minister.

When did you accept that call? I I was licensed to minister in
6:26
two thousand ten, and that when I really really knew, Okay, this
6:34
is a call in my life and what the Lord has for me to do.

Um, you know, I embraced it. I accepted it. I
6:42
was preparing myself go rest. What I didn't know then and what I came
6:50
to know after I was getting close to getting into ministry. Everything that I
6:56
went through was just okay. Um, as a minister, what would you

say has been the most rewarding thing for you? Being able to answer the
7:14
call that God placed during your life? Oh? Man, you know,
7:17
for me, it's so rewarding. Um. You know, whether fool or
7:24
whether thing got a text message, whether I'm just having a casual conversation with
7:30
somebody, you know, when people begin to react or what that word was
7:33
so for me, you really blame me. Oh, you must have been
7:36
in my prayer closet that that is so rewarding. Either one I have heard
7:45
from God or either God is working through and I don't even realize that I
7:49
don't I don't even know it. They're like, oh my god, what
7:55
the it repels? Or I may just be carrying on a conversation and God

is just speaking through me and I'm not even realizing that He's doing it.

And you know, I'll tell anybody like anything, Yeah, I kay,

what I am supposed to be hurting? You're breaking up. There are a

lot of people that are that are hurting. Can you hear me? Yeah?

That are hurting your need of customized Okay. I also know that you

are an author. Yea. And with that, we have this lovely book

that you're written, and I would like for you to tell us a little
8:52
bit about your book. Well, my my book is entitled My first book

is entitled My Journey from Breast Cancer to Heal. And I'm actually that's of

being the station answer. But um I was done with the break answer.

And my sickness actually went from and going through radiation and going through chemo because

it actually took me on the path. But I was diagnosed with congestive heart

failure and I ended up having a major stroke and the Lord healed me.

And so I was going through through my sickness and everything, you know,

and I'm just like, oh, you know, like okay, you know,

in my mind, I'm thinking, oh, I'm not gonna forget all
9:50
of this, you know. But I did obey, and then I did
9:54
take some notes, you know, just to remember some things that happened.

And thank God that I did, because I had no idea at that time

that book and I to share my story in a book because I'm like,

you know, God, there's so many people. Um else was at stage

one, somebody else was at stage two for you know, but it was

could share my story in this book and you know, and I tell people,

you know, it is a phenomenal testimony. I don't say that just

because it's mine and I'm not bragging on me. I'm bragging on God.

And true, I didn't think that I would make it through it. But

but you know, I want the story to get out, which is why

I'm so thankful for this platform to be able to Well. Um, we

have a question. Um. The first question I saw was did you get

your calling before the diagnosis or after I had been told prophetically h time that

I would be in ministry. But um, I knew I would be in
11:26
ministry, but at that time, you know, like, um, like,

oh, I'm not ready to answer the call. It wasn't anything like
11:35
that. I just knew I was called to preach at that time. Okay,

And another question, um, the title of your book again, it

is my journey from breast cancer to heal uh huh? And where can they

It is not a long book. It is a very easy read. If

you have like an hour maybe an hour and a half tops, uh,

to just sit down read the book, you know it will it will not

take long to read. But they're just just dynamics of the book, dynamics

of my story, you know, because I mean at people that, uh

that they read the book. I've been told on more than one occasion,

you know when I read the book, they were tea and you know,

you don't look like what you do through I tell the Great God it's because

of his grace and his glory that was just resting upon me during this time.

But that I was I went through that for this to be birth really

for somebody else. I remember the first time, uh, both each I

can't you no, so I can't Okay, good, Yeah, what you

know this book what was kind about each? Everything I went through was really

for somebody else. And and when the first time I was ever told that
13:35
about me, I went through all of this it wasn't about me. But
13:39
not knowing to you know, really being I not eve to the use I
13:48
as a but you know he because both one day would reach and say,

well God, if you can do it, for her. I know you
14:05
can do it for me because I have no idea how. And we have
14:16
another question, UM asking did you have days where you fell down like UM?

What encouraged you to push forward throughout the process. If I'm not mistaken,

there were two days that right her day was UM an appointment with my
14:39
oncologist and one of the medicines that I have to do part of my therapy.

What And I was. I was stunned. I'm like God, I
14:52
did not my life. So a couple of days after I saw my oncologists,

you know, I cried about that, and uh, I keep on
15:05
therapy. And when I got there, I sat down and she's ready to
15:09
start drawing blood, and I just I just said, you feel about UM
15:16
have to do? Keep me? I thought, oh my God, I'm
15:22
gonna be having all this sickness for for the next year of my life,
15:24
all these doctor disappointments. But those were only two things that the only two
15:30
times that I cried. But I could and I can't, said Lord.

I constantly told God, can you hear me? M hm, can you
15:46
hear me? Yeah? I just constantly I said, God, by your
15:52
stripe, I'm killed. And that's what kept me motivated because I put on
15:56
that word. My family was very supportive, of my church family, my

friends were very supportive. I mean I had people praying for me on a
16:07
constant, consistent basis. I had such a great network of people that there
16:12
was no way that that I could get down and stay down because they weren't
16:17
gonna let me. Right right, Um, I do remember when you had
16:25
your stroke because you were in the hospital the same time my mom was in
16:30
the hospital and our aunt Elizabeth was in the hospital right right right, being
16:37
that God brought you out seemingly with with no issues. What what does that
16:45
mean to you in your walk with God? Now? Now you know,
16:49
because my mom has issues with her memory, and of course we lost our
16:55
aunt. So you being the one that was able to walk away with a
16:59
testimony, what what does that mean for you? Like I said, Hey,

God really to me something great? Um. But because as you're talking

about our act, which is my mom side of her, you're going in
17:18
and out. Yeah, can you hear me? Yeah? Okay? Good?

Because okay, the aunts you were talking about is of course my mom's

side of the family. But keep to run on my dad's side of the
17:30
fact cousin, two or three people's aunt from my dad's side of the family,

and I'm just I'm like, but okay, but God, you you

still kept here. And that makes me encouraged and cultivated to know that I'm
17:48
still here for a reason. I am still here for a purpose that is
17:52
so much thinker that I can't fight it because I do know now that my

ministry is healing and deliverance. So I had to go there's that part of

my testimony, that part, you know, bring them out. I know,

um, as an Arthur that you know sometimes we go through things to
18:23
be able to write it out and and share our story with the world.

Um, when you were writing your book, what was the basis behind what
18:34
you had to say? Well, you know, writing this book was really
18:41
very easy for me because I had to do to tell the story, and
18:45
no one knew the story better than me because I was was right about talk
18:55
about everything that I because so on the outside, people knew that I had

cancer. They knew I had chemo therapy because now I'm walking around with a
19:03
ball head. People knew that that now I'm sick because one of the medicines
19:08
damaged my heart. I had just a heart failure. People knew that I
19:11
had a stroke, but but people don't. People didn't know the details that
19:17
happened in between, and and those little things that happened in between that they
19:22
were vitally important as well, be because it also showed U talk about how
19:27
God I did for me during that time. Okay, Um, Being that
19:40
you are are a minister and you wrote this book, and from this book,

I take it, you know, from breast cancer to Healed, I
19:52
feel like anybody can receive a word from that book and be healed. Absolutely

with that question, Um, are you considering writing any more books in the

future. Yes. Yes, As a matter of fact, I have also

written another book. So I'm just you know, waiting for the Lord is

just really giving me to I'm trying to make sure that I have the ending

it for him to give me the okay to go ahead and release out and

it may be it may be this year, but it's but this book is

also um a but it's really a whole another scenario that But you know,

with this book, as you said, UM, you know, and I

tell people when you read the title and it says from breast cancer to Heal,

I don't want people to think that my uh my book just somebody with

breast cancer or somebody that's dealing with cancer. It's that thickness because the Bible

tells us that that He can heal all manner of sickness and diseases. This

this book is for somebody who has a lack of faith, who who hey,

hey body, and they may feel like, okay, well you know

God will do it. But how you're going in and out here, I

hear you. I'm sorry about the connection, but yeah, but this but

it's for anybody that that that you need a healing, that that you that
21:33
this book allows people to see that God is who he says he is when

he says that he is a healer, because you can do it. And

as I said in my book, I mean, you know, you read
21:44
my story. My health went from bad to worse. I went from stage
21:48
to breast cancer to congestive heart failure to having a major stroke. And I'm
21:53
you know and about you know, right before I had the stroke, I
21:56
mean, I was thinking tired, and it was it was just that was

just almost a point. I feel like this is out of being sick or
22:10
whatever. But after I got sick, and tired of being sick and tired.

Then I had broke. I had to go on disability and quit work

it and God, God, he just did. Um, what would you

tell somebody that wants to write a book that may be going through something similar,
22:34
or or just wanting to share their story in general, what would you
22:41
tell them? Well, the first thing I would tell you is to me

at your late I would have ever thought about right now. I mean I
22:52
never in a media years with an amasa because because we have our testimonies,

but we just never know how how God is going to use us to deliver
23:06
it. So you know, be prayerful and make sure that this is something
23:08
that the Lord is leading you to do. I think it's awesome and phenomenal

if someone wants right away, but the information out, you know, it's
23:22
what we need. We we we have to share our testimonies because it's telling
23:27
of the goodness of God. It is telling about who He is, how
23:32
gray he and you know my story my breast cancer or to hear hear me.

Yeah, so just just think, just seek the Lord about it because

um, and you know I want to write a book. Well, it

may not be for you to write a book. God, God might have

you to you know, start the ministry some other type of way, do

some kind of group sessions, or you may be able to go into places,

go into church and you know cozation. Yes, that's gonna lead you

to you never Yeah, you're going in and out. Hear me, I

hear you? Okay. UM, My next question for you, UM,

anyone battling breast cancer, what advice do you would you have for them?

Trust in the Lord, stand on his word. That's us in the Bible.

But this be the power healing hat lay because right that we already healed.

And you know, and as you said, it's a battle. You

know some people, you know, the Lord may just healed them instantly right

that that that wasn't for me. I had to go through the process so

that I would be able to tell somebody. I had to go through the

process so that I can even get this book. You know. But if

I tell you just just to hang on, you know further God that foundation.

Well, I want to say to you, um, being that you

know I grew up in your home, like you're you're more than a first
25:52
cousin to me. You're like a sister to me. And you're my my
25:56
son's godmother. And um, when you wrote this book, that gave me

the answers that I needed to write my book. I mean, my journey

is not the same as yours, but you know I had a story to

tell as well. And you know, so I want to thank you for

for being the trail blazer that you are and setting the tone to have people

look at what you're doing and want to follow. Wow, we thank you

so much that just that just really really means a lot, because you know,

I want my light to shine. Um, I want to. I

mean, as you said, a trailblazer. You know that that's so powerful

right there in itself, m because I want to bork out everything that God

has impregnated them with because we need to empty and not fool and there's just

so much greatness on the fib but that that doesn't get to come to get

people and people throw in the towel when when they like to say when the

tod when the going gets tough, but got to keep going. And I'm

just like I said, I'm just so excited for you. I'm so excited
