- 0:56Speaker 5: Who loved being the fillins fill in.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Right, that's a great way to look at it, isn't it. Hey,
- 1:02Speaker 4: It's Friday. Hope you've had a fantastic week as we
- 1:04Speaker 4: gear up for the warm up to Texas game.
- 1:09Speaker 6: That's how we're looking at this right the extended Texas
- 1:11Speaker 6: Hate Week. Yeah, extended hate week, Caleb. Aside from like football,
- 1:17Speaker 6: how are things as a student going? Because it's about
- 1:19Speaker 6: finals time, isn't it?
- 1:20Speaker 7: Now?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Really coming up on that right now?
- 1:21Speaker 6: We've got two more weeks. I think finals are mostly
- 1:27Speaker 6: the second week of December, and then there's a few
- 1:29Speaker 6: I think that third week as well. So we still
- 1:31Speaker 6: got a little while. We started late this year. Normally
- 1:35Speaker 6: we start like two weeks before the football game started
- 1:38Speaker 6: this week the first week of school. The UTSA game
- 1:42Speaker 6: was that Saturday, So I think we started a little
- 1:43Speaker 6: later this year. So it actually the semesters going a
- 1:46Speaker 6: little farther into December. But yeah, we're past the halfway point.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Class is class. School is school. That's all. That's about
- 1:55Speaker 4: all I got. Listen. I completely feel that I went
- 1:59Speaker 4: through it myself, so I know the feeling good luck.
- 2:03Speaker 4: That's all I can say. Good luck to classes this semester,
- 2:06Speaker 4: So that's okay. That's always a good thing. I was
- 2:08Speaker 4: not so fortunate when I went through college. There was
- 2:11Speaker 4: a semester or too where it was just couldn't do it.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Same mostly was math related stuff.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Yeah, there's there's some classes that I'm not super looking
- 2:22Speaker 6: forward to taking.
- 2:24Speaker 5: But you know that's college.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it very much is. Well, Sanford is this weekt
- 2:29Speaker 4: Were you at the South Carolina game last weekend?
- 2:31Speaker 5: Yes? Okay, I did not leave.
- 2:33Speaker 6: I don't think very many people did, though, which is
- 2:35Speaker 6: pretty impressive.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Well, A twelfth Man's loyal. Oh my goodness, gracious microphone here,
- 2:39Speaker 4: the twelfth man is loyal. So I would expect that
- 2:42Speaker 4: I would be disappointed if you had told me otherwise.
- 2:44Speaker 4: But I did want to ask you, since you were
- 2:46Speaker 4: somebody that was at the game, what the vibe in
- 2:50Speaker 4: there was like at halftime.
- 2:53Speaker 5: People wanting to break stuff?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Okay, okay, so it's not expectable because I was not
- 2:59Speaker 4: at the game. I was watching it awestruck from my
- 3:02Speaker 4: couch at heart at my apartments, right. I was texting
- 3:06Speaker 4: back and forth with Louie about the game, just like,
- 3:09Speaker 4: what the heck is going on here? How is this possible?
- 3:14Speaker 4: But somehow, in the back of my mind, I never
- 3:16Speaker 4: had the idea that A and M was out of it,
- 3:17Speaker 4: especially at halftime, and I think everybody kind of felt
- 3:20Speaker 4: that way because you know, Mike Elko's like the king
- 3:23Speaker 4: of halftime speeches.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Yeah, so the whole time. My mindset was we're a
- 3:27Speaker 6: second half team, but we've never been down twenty seven
- 3:30Speaker 6: and come down.
- 3:31Speaker 4: That was a big hole.
- 3:32Speaker 6: It was that first drive after coming out of halftime,
- 3:39Speaker 6: the fourth and twelve, going forward on fourth and twelve, and.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, you have to go for this.
- 3:44Speaker 6: I mean, you can't punt, you're down twenty seven points,
- 3:48Speaker 6: and Marcel just made magic happen. And as soon as
- 3:51Speaker 6: that play happened, I was like.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, we're good because you had to play a perfect
- 3:55Speaker 4: game at that point. I mean there was no more
- 3:58Speaker 4: margin for error. They won by a single point, so
- 4:01Speaker 4: obviously you couldn't even afford to give up.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 6: I just the drive chart for this game is so
- 4:06Speaker 6: much fun to look at. So South Carolina started first
- 4:08Speaker 6: quarter field goal, field goal, three to three. South Carolina
- 4:12Speaker 6: touchdown A and M. And this will continue to baffle me.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Randy Bond misses a field goal from forty five yards
- 4:20Speaker 6: and coach Elco came out and said that Randy's still
- 4:22Speaker 6: the guy, which I don't really understand.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Because Circle won.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Jared Zirkle won the kicking competition in preseason camp, got
- 4:29Speaker 6: hurt and now he's fully healthy and Elco said he's
- 4:32Speaker 6: fully healthy, but Randy's still the guy.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Don't understand that at all.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Randy missed two more field goals in this game, so
- 4:38Speaker 6: I don't get why I was sticking with him, but
- 4:40Speaker 6: you know that's not my call obviously. Anyway, miss field goal,
- 4:43Speaker 6: South Carolina, punts A and M fumbles, South Carolina scoop
- 4:47Speaker 6: and score, touchdown A and M punt, South Carolina field
- 4:50Speaker 6: goal and M punt. South Carolina punt A and M punt.
- 4:53Speaker 6: South Carolina interception and a missed field goal from twenty
- 4:57Speaker 6: four yards.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Was bit of an off day one.
- 5:01Speaker 5: This is college football.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, you should not be missing twenty four yard nowls,
- 5:04Speaker 4: not at all.
- 5:05Speaker 6: South Carolina punt A and M interceptions, South Carolina touchdown
- 5:08Speaker 6: A and M interception, South Carolina field goal into half.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It's it's so crazy because it was a crazy first half. Literally,
- 5:14Speaker 4: the first half was Murphy's Law put into yes, like
- 5:18Speaker 4: on a football field. What anything that could have gone
- 5:21Speaker 4: wrong went wrong.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I'm gonna first agree honestly because Marcel had three other
- 5:26Speaker 6: throws that should.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Have been picked.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Oh my, yes he did. Like he had South Carolina
- 5:29Speaker 4: could have been up by forty Oh yes, Okay, so
- 5:31Speaker 4: it was it was mur like like it could could
- 5:35Speaker 4: have been worse, which thankfully it wasn't. And I mean
- 5:38Speaker 4: you also kind of think, okay, this is classic eleven
- 5:40Speaker 4: am football game. The news had just come out about
- 5:43Speaker 4: the Mike Elco exception as well some bad time before,
- 5:46Speaker 4: and I guess we'll we're on that note. The news
- 5:48Speaker 4: today as well that Trev Albert's got a six year
- 5:51Speaker 4: deal that runs through twenty thirty one, so that.
- 5:53Speaker 6: I think it's a little I don't. I think we're
- 5:56Speaker 6: a little early on extending the ad. We're like, I
- 5:59Speaker 6: think that Aggie Sports in general is in a good place, right,
- 6:03Speaker 6: But I mean, looking at football, obviously, it's one of
- 6:06Speaker 6: the top teams in the country. The women's basketball team
- 6:08Speaker 6: has started off the season really hot.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Yeah, volleyball has been great.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Kind of surprised to see that, but yeah, the volleyball teams,
- 6:15Speaker 6: you know, number two seed in the SEC tournament. The
- 6:18Speaker 6: baseball team is getting there. I mean, there's a couple
- 6:21Speaker 6: new coach saying with the men's basketball team. So I
- 6:24Speaker 6: think overall, Trev's done a good job.
- 6:27Speaker 4: It's a good spot to being sure for the school
- 6:30Speaker 4: as a whole. I think, yeah so, But anyways, back
- 6:34Speaker 4: to the game. So it's this what can go wrong,
- 6:38Speaker 4: will go wrong? First half and then second half is
- 6:41Speaker 4: just like the opposite opposite of that, and.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Thirty to three, and then we come back and we
- 6:46Speaker 6: go touchdown to start touchdown, four straight drives, four straight touchdowns,
- 6:50Speaker 6: and I thought we were going to just start putting
- 6:52Speaker 6: it on them. And then so the thing I was
- 6:56Speaker 6: most worried about with the comeback was where we going
- 6:58Speaker 6: to have time? Like I thought South Carolina was just
- 7:00Speaker 6: gonna sit on it, run as much clock as they could,
- 7:02Speaker 6: and I think they could have ran a little more
- 7:03Speaker 6: if they wanted to. Yeah, they they were on the
- 7:09Speaker 6: the tipping point between being aggressive and being too passive,
- 7:12Speaker 6: and they just couldn't decide what they wanted to do,
- 7:15Speaker 6: Like when they went for it on fourth down on
- 7:17Speaker 6: that first drive. All they got to do is kick
- 7:18Speaker 6: a field goal and they probably win this game. I
- 7:21Speaker 6: still don't understand why they didn't just kick the field goal.
- 7:23Speaker 4: I don't either, but I'm glad they didn't. Yeah, me too,
- 7:27Speaker 4: I think we all are. In hindsight.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I was.
- 7:28Speaker 6: I was thinking we weren't gonna have enough time to
- 7:30Speaker 6: come back. And then we score to go up at
- 7:32Speaker 6: the start of the fourth quarter, and then we can't
- 7:34Speaker 6: do anything else.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Dude, I after that game, like that night, I'm not
- 7:39Speaker 4: even gonna lie. I went to the backyard and got drunk,
- 7:43Speaker 4: and I'm not I was out there and I just
- 7:47Speaker 4: started drinking like I was. I think most people probably
- 7:50Speaker 4: started a halftime. Yeah, I you know what, I think
- 7:52Speaker 4: you're right, So in that note, I was probably late
- 7:54Speaker 4: to the party. But oh man, that that was such
- 7:59Speaker 4: as a character builder right there, something like that. And
- 8:03Speaker 4: you know, but I am glad that they had that
- 8:05Speaker 4: kind of scare game now and not in the postseason
- 8:09Speaker 4: before having to play Texas because now it's Samford tomorrow,
- 8:12Speaker 4: which it's it's a warm up game. You know, Marcel
- 8:14Speaker 4: doesn't play past half time tomorrow in all likely or not.
- 8:17Speaker 6: You better not if any starters out there past the
- 8:20Speaker 6: past halftime, I don't want to.
- 8:22Speaker 4: So I I am glad that that game happened the
- 8:26Speaker 4: way it did.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Yeah, because of the thing I was really worried about
- 8:29Speaker 6: with us being undefeated was just being on top of
- 8:31Speaker 6: the world. Yes, thinking your invincible. So I think it's
- 8:34Speaker 6: good that we had that scare without taking the loss
- 8:37Speaker 6: because most of the time those games are losses and
- 8:39Speaker 6: you have to come back from that. Like Alabama losing
- 8:42Speaker 6: to Florida say that the yeah, yep, yep, yep. But
- 8:45Speaker 6: we managed to come back and actually get the win.
- 8:48Speaker 6: So I think it's going to have the same effect
- 8:50Speaker 6: as a loss would have, but without having a loss
- 8:53Speaker 6: on your.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Own, yes, which who knows how far we would have dropped.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Who to South Carolina?
- 8:58Speaker 6: Yeah, because Alabama dropped seven spots after losing to Oklahoma
- 9:01Speaker 6: and Oklahoma's ranked. It would have been interesting, and I'm
- 9:05Speaker 6: glad that we don't have to worry about that scenario.
- 9:08Speaker 6: Now we're, you know, one hundred per We're pretty much like,
- 9:11Speaker 6: I don't think there's a possibility of us missing the
- 9:13Speaker 6: playoff now.
- 9:14Speaker 4: No, I mean it's locked in because tomorrow is the
- 9:17Speaker 4: eleventh win and eleven win SEC team is making it
- 9:20Speaker 4: into the into the playoff. Yeah, like that, that is
- 9:23Speaker 4: just how it is.
- 9:23Speaker 6: It will be interesting if Texas beats us, if they
- 9:26Speaker 6: get in, but I don't think that'll happen.
- 9:27Speaker 5: So I don't think.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I don't think Texas. I mean I don't think they
- 9:30Speaker 4: they who were they? Again? They lost? But who was
- 9:33Speaker 4: it against Georgia. Already lost against Georgia, so I don't
- 9:37Speaker 4: on side kick, did you watch that game? I watched,
- 9:39Speaker 4: I saw the highlights. I saw the on site was amazing.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I saw, and I saw like the whole breakdown. Kase
- 9:44Speaker 4: they they were leaving Texas was like leaving early. So
- 9:47Speaker 4: they decided We're.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Smart might actually be the best coaching college.
- 9:50Speaker 4: That That was awesome to see them do. Anyways, the
- 9:54Speaker 4: whole rundown of the show because we got Chip and
- 9:56Speaker 4: Kirk coming up, but we'll get into like a little
- 9:58Speaker 4: rundown of what we've got coming up. Obviously, we're gonna
- 10:00Speaker 4: get into that in just a couple of minutes. Chip
- 10:02Speaker 4: and Kirk, they will talk Me and you were talking
- 10:05Speaker 4: off the air before we got on. We're gonna do
- 10:07Speaker 4: some baseball, like there's some free agency stuff that came
- 10:09Speaker 4: out this week Astro. But yeah, we'll do a couple
- 10:14Speaker 4: of entertainment themed things. Because this is actually gonna be
- 10:16Speaker 4: the final show before Thanksgiving. We will not be on
- 10:19Speaker 4: the air next week. It's for Black Friday, unfortunately, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 4: because the big game that day. But I know Louie
- 10:25Speaker 4: will have his game day show that day. But we
- 10:27Speaker 4: will not be here on the air, So the next
- 10:29Speaker 4: time you hear from me and Will will be into
- 10:31Speaker 4: the month of December. So we'll do some entertainment stuff
- 10:34Speaker 4: as well, some kind of Thanksgiving themed things, since that
- 10:36Speaker 4: is coming up next week. That's gonna be a big one.
- 10:38Speaker 4: We will talk college football, of course, we'll do that
- 10:40Speaker 4: entire into the five o'clock hour. Chip and Tony they
- 10:43Speaker 4: will meet and talk. We will absolutely talk about the
- 10:48Speaker 4: misery night that Josh Allen had last night against the
- 10:51Speaker 4: Houston Texans and that defense because my goodness, oh wait,
- 10:55Speaker 4: wait till we get to that. And then we will
- 10:57Speaker 4: close off the show with the police reports as we
- 11:00Speaker 4: do every week. Will is not here, but that does
- 11:02Speaker 4: not stop. The show goes on, as they say. So
- 11:06Speaker 4: that's the show. Let's get into Final Lap. Then we'll
- 11:09Speaker 4: hear from Chip and Kirk. Final Lap is brought to
- 11:12Speaker 4: you by Chad Jones.
- 11:13Speaker 8: Law.
- 11:14Speaker 9: I'm Chad Jones. We know sports injuries hurt, and so
- 11:17Speaker 9: do injuries from car res. But you didn't sign up
- 11:19Speaker 9: to be in a car wreck with someone who wasn't
- 11:21Speaker 9: paying attention. It was their fault and now you're left
- 11:24Speaker 9: to deal with the consequences. You need to see a
- 11:26Speaker 9: doctor and you're missing work. Chad Jones Law can help.
- 11:29Speaker 9: We've been helping our neighbors for more than two decades.
- 11:31Speaker 9: Stop getting frustrated with the other side's foot dragging. Remember,
- 11:35Speaker 9: don't get mad. Get Chad. Call Chad Jones Law at
- 11:38Speaker 9: ninety seven nine five to nine five five thousand, or
- 11:41Speaker 9: go online to Chad Jones Law dot com.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Twenty twenty five. NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Ricky Rudd.
- 11:49Speaker 10: I mean, I think I don't think it was a
- 11:51Speaker 10: question going in next week. You know, just just make
- 11:54Speaker 10: sure you all that cooling stuff that will make sure
- 11:56Speaker 10: that we make sure that worked again. But you know,
- 11:58Speaker 10: NAT stuff was working a kind of spoiled you. And
- 12:01Speaker 10: that's really reason I got burnt so bad. Is it
- 12:02Speaker 10: because it works so good, We're able to dig a bunch,
- 12:04Speaker 10: you know, probably five or ten pounds of weight out
- 12:06Speaker 10: of the car with insulation. So and that's why I
- 12:08Speaker 10: got burnt so bad because a lot of times, JENNI,
- 12:09Speaker 10: for years you ran without anything cool and wise and
- 12:12Speaker 10: it worked. But the history behind that is because of
- 12:15Speaker 10: the way that all that insulation was dug out. So
- 12:18Speaker 10: now that heat is transferred right into the sea. But
- 12:20Speaker 10: I don't remember the following week being all that difficult,
- 12:22Speaker 10: you know. I think because of the how you get
- 12:24Speaker 10: from a win kind of carries you through for a while,
- 12:27Speaker 10: that that momentum and that adrilline, and so I don't
- 12:31Speaker 10: think it was I wouldn't give it anything to go
- 12:33Speaker 10: to it next week, because that's when you get to
- 12:34Speaker 10: you know, hear everybody wishing, well, it is a great race.
- 12:36Speaker 7: I didn't want to miss that, you know.
- 12:38Speaker 10: When it first started, it was it was just out
- 12:40Speaker 10: of out of my memory, out of my thoughts. I
- 12:42Speaker 10: didn't really think about, I've got to get to that
- 12:44Speaker 10: next racetrack and keep a streak going, because I would
- 12:46Speaker 10: get asked out a lot, and I'm thinking, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 10: that's a streak. It didn't really mean anything. And then
- 12:51Speaker 10: later on, as you go into it and you're adding
- 12:54Speaker 10: up those years, and all of a sudden you starts in, hey,
- 12:56Speaker 10: I'm pretty high on the list. You know this might
- 12:59Speaker 10: be a record. And then you're getting older and you're
- 13:01Speaker 10: you know, you're not just seem like your performance wins
- 13:04Speaker 10: are starting to taper off about that time, and it's
- 13:06Speaker 10: like you look back, you say, what that is? Probably
- 13:08Speaker 10: pretty amazing. You know, they keep that street going like that.
- 13:11Speaker 4: This is the final app.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Hi.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I'm Kylie, I'm John, and I'm Garrison.

- 15:08Speaker 7: I don't know if he banned me or not, but.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Uh hey, I finally gave that thing up. They wouldn't
- 15:15Speaker 1: call me ever hardly, so I just liked kay, okay.
- 15:20Speaker 7: I think there are fewer people on too, Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 1: That's probably true. Yesterday, I think there were a few.
- 15:25Speaker 7: More, well, Clark Lee receipts Sark and he's the talker, yes,
- 15:31Speaker 7: and he went probably four or five minutes over. So
- 15:35Speaker 7: Sark's times got shrunk. And he's followed by Mike Elko,
- 15:39Speaker 7: so that may have been part of it. But no,
- 15:41Speaker 7: I didn't get into question. Then obviously Stark atting decoration
- 15:46Speaker 7: of sorts, if you will, so that that cut into
- 15:49Speaker 7: the time as well.
- 15:50Speaker 1: But it's all good, So he doesn't he doesn't particularly
- 15:55Speaker 1: apparently enjoy the underachieving tag.
- 15:59Speaker 7: No, and not only that, I don't even think you
- 16:02Speaker 7: agreed with it, you know, which called the attention of
- 16:05Speaker 7: a few longhorned fans who probably you know, echoed my sentiments.
- 16:11Speaker 7: And it was a massive underachievement to this point, and
- 16:15Speaker 7: and maybe it could get worse, you know, yes, give
- 16:19Speaker 7: them the schedule, but yeah, I think I think there
- 16:23Speaker 7: was some denial going on. And uh and pride obviously
- 16:29Speaker 7: has he been Uh.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Kirk, would you describe him as as sensitive versus some
- 16:34Speaker 1: of the other coaches you've dealt with are about the same?
- 16:37Speaker 7: I would I definitely would you know back Brown was
- 16:41Speaker 7: would be in that company. Yes, And it's funny because
- 16:45Speaker 7: you know, and everybody as you try not to take
- 16:49Speaker 7: anything personal, right, And you know, I grew up a
- 16:51Speaker 7: Longhorm fan. My dad was played on the Long Harm
- 16:55Speaker 7: football team, and I had three brothers. They all went
- 16:57Speaker 7: to UT. One of my sons went to UT. And no,
- 17:00Speaker 7: I don't hate UT. You know, I'm proud of my
- 17:03Speaker 7: alma mater. But I'm a journalist first and foremost, and
- 17:06Speaker 7: I'm going to ask questions and I think the answered
- 17:09Speaker 7: what the answers to and to me, I think if
- 17:12Speaker 7: you did a poll, I think most of the hard
- 17:15Speaker 7: fans would think this team is underachieved. And when he asked,
- 17:19Speaker 7: according to who you know, I thought, well, you were
- 17:22Speaker 7: number one. And then people on Twitter some of them go, well,
- 17:26Speaker 7: sports writers don't know anything, which is probably true. But
- 17:29Speaker 7: the coaches voted a number one.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Two, and I believe Kirk kind of embraced that, did
- 17:35Speaker 1: he not before the season started.
- 17:38Speaker 7: I don't think there's a question about it. I've pulled
- 17:40Speaker 7: out a quote from Media Days in July and he said,
- 17:44Speaker 7: We've got a championship roster. This is what we've been
- 17:46Speaker 7: building for three years and that's you know, the reason
- 17:50Speaker 7: they got in the playoffs is the only team to
- 17:53Speaker 7: make the semifinals last few years. So with that rises expectations.
- 17:57Speaker 7: We all know that, and he does too, but you
- 18:01Speaker 7: know he doesn't like you know, maybe facing up to that.
- 18:05Speaker 7: But quite frankly, they you know, see did his poorest
- 18:09Speaker 7: job coaching this year?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Well that, honestly, the biggest thing I look have looked
- 18:15Speaker 1: at Kirk is that is disciplined. This team is really undisciplined.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You can tell me. But I think they're in the
- 18:22Speaker 1: bottom five in terms of penalties, are they not?
- 18:25Speaker 7: Every year every game they get like eight or nine penalties. Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 7: and that's what they got against Georgia, and Georgia got one.
- 18:32Speaker 7: Georgia had one penalty for fifteen yards and I think
- 18:37Speaker 7: it came in the fourth quarter when it was already decided. Yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 7: so you know, you don't see Georgia making silly, disciplined penalties,
- 18:47Speaker 7: but you know Texas had so many penalties that were critical. Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Well, I mean I would argue that's been the same
- 18:55Speaker 1: all season.
- 18:56Speaker 7: It is. It's been a recurring problem. And we've asked
- 19:00Speaker 7: how do you fix that? And he said, well, we
- 19:02Speaker 7: have more attention to detail and more focus and and
- 19:06Speaker 7: but it but it's not fixed. No, we all know that,
- 19:10Speaker 7: and that was a decisive factor in the game against Georgia.
- 19:13Speaker 7: Georgia didn't needed help, but but Texas sure gained it
- 19:17Speaker 7: some help with bad penalties. So you know, that's that's
- 19:21Speaker 7: just a kind of a sideline, you know, issue in
- 19:26Speaker 7: what's happened to text because they can't run.
- 19:27Speaker 1: The ball at all, correct, They just you suggested this
- 19:31Speaker 1: week the air raid against Arkansas, let Arch throw it
- 19:34Speaker 1: sixty times. But my I guess my response is Arch
- 19:38Speaker 1: may last, may not last dropping back sixty times.
- 19:41Speaker 7: I'm surprised he's lasted this wall, I mean even and
- 19:45Speaker 7: the rest. From the get go, the line has gotten
- 19:49Speaker 7: better at past protecting. Yes, blocking, not so much. I mean,
- 19:54Speaker 7: you know, when you get twenty three yards rushing and
- 19:57Speaker 7: start saying, well that we actually ran them pretty effectively.
- 20:01Speaker 7: I don't know what game he's talking about. Yeah, I mean, uh,
- 20:05Speaker 7: you know, this is a Georgia team that ran for
- 20:07Speaker 7: three hundred yards and it's missip States for beeing sakes,
- 20:11Speaker 7: so you know, and coaches say, well, you can't do that,
- 20:14Speaker 7: you can't abandon the run. Well, Texas all but did, Yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 7: abandon the run. And if you're not getting anything out
- 20:22Speaker 7: of it. You are just wasting plays. Does play action
- 20:26Speaker 7: passes work right when you run to twenty three yards?
- 20:30Speaker 7: I don't think so.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Well. You know that the defense is what they've hung
- 20:34Speaker 1: their hat on most of the season. What has happened
- 20:36Speaker 1: to them the last three.
- 20:37Speaker 7: Games, Well, the secondary has just been shredded they Is.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It too simple to say Michael taff has been missing
- 20:46Speaker 1: and he certainly wasn't one Saturday night he wasn't very good.
- 20:50Speaker 7: I think, no, he wasn't. I think it goes so
- 20:52Speaker 7: far beyond that. I have a lot of its schemes.
- 20:56Speaker 7: You know, they clearly they missed today Bear who won
- 20:58Speaker 7: the Thorpe Award. Yeah, Butkoba, a rookie who's you know,
- 21:02Speaker 7: playing really well for Philadelphia. But they don't. They don't
- 21:08Speaker 7: use press coverage, they don't use man coverage that much.
- 21:11Speaker 7: They drop back into zolves and it's they're just getting
- 21:15Speaker 7: picked apart. Because the quarterbacks to this league are pretty good.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 7: I mean you look at the quarterbacks who are mentioned
- 21:22Speaker 7: for the Heisman. Yeah, just in the SEC you got
- 21:26Speaker 7: Ty Simpson, you got you know, Gutter Stockton, whom even
- 21:31Speaker 7: should be the favorite because you know, had five touchdowns
- 21:35Speaker 7: against Texas for them through the air. You have Diego Pavia,
- 21:39Speaker 7: you have Marcia Reid, you got Taylor Green, who could
- 21:43Speaker 7: be the best of all of them. You got Aguilar
- 21:47Speaker 7: from Tennessee. You got Arch Manning who thrown twenty touchdowns.
- 21:51Speaker 7: I mean that's just in one league, a loan. You
- 21:53Speaker 7: don't have good secondary rorda mighty. You're gonna take the
- 21:58Speaker 7: part they've given up, even up twelve just down passes
- 22:01Speaker 7: in the last three games.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's a lot. Uh. And you you mentioned Taylor Green,
- 22:06Speaker 1: who's extremely dangerous obviously, and this is a season making
- 22:12Speaker 1: game for Arkansas this this week. We had this argument
- 22:16Speaker 1: earlier in the week. But Bobby Petrino could get a
- 22:19Speaker 1: job by beating Texas, could he not?
- 22:23Speaker 7: Or at least a lifetime pension.
- 22:26Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:27Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, it's funny. I was on that conference
- 22:30Speaker 7: call yesterday and I asked Bobby. I said, you know,
- 22:34Speaker 7: kids today in a l transfer pull and move around.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Uh.
- 22:38Speaker 7: And the roster's just going to change, you know, entirely
- 22:41Speaker 7: one year to the next. I said, do they understand
- 22:43Speaker 7: this rivalry, the depth into the ribery? And his answer
- 22:47Speaker 7: was not yet? And they said, we're trying to educate him.
- 22:52Speaker 7: He said, daddy was a history teacher. Yeah, and I'm
- 22:55Speaker 7: trying to be as good as history teacher as he
- 22:57Speaker 7: was this week. So and I'm not sure understand.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Wait, you know we said that now for about three
- 23:03Speaker 1: years and that was that was Sark's coming out party
- 23:07Speaker 1: was in Feanville with that beat down.
- 23:09Speaker 7: Uh.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And he didn't understand it either. The players didn't understand it.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And it'd be interesting to know if they understand what's
- 23:17Speaker 1: coming tomorrow.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Well, you would think they'd better. I mean, here's a
- 23:21Speaker 7: team that's desperate. They all call them dangerous, and they
- 23:24Speaker 7: are dangerous because they've had one of the six to
- 23:27Speaker 7: one possession games now and blue one leading the fourth quarter.
- 23:31Speaker 7: I mean, the Aggy thing was competitive. I know they
- 23:35Speaker 7: kind of came back late to make it a look closer,
- 23:38Speaker 7: but I mean, of course, every Aggie Arkansas game is competitive.
- 23:41Speaker 7: Is just the He's always win it, yep. So yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 7: they're a desperate team. Taylor Green is terrific, and you
- 23:50Speaker 7: know they haven't had much success against great quarterbacks. So
- 23:54Speaker 7: you know, I don't know what to expect Saturday. I
- 23:57Speaker 7: expect the super f Anthony Hill looks like he may
- 24:01Speaker 7: have a broken hand, his career could be over. Wow,
- 24:05Speaker 7: is truly desperate. Yah know that if he's out, who
- 24:10Speaker 7: knows that he'll play again. So it's just kind of
- 24:13Speaker 7: a pride game. I think you know they're they're on
- 24:16Speaker 7: the outside looking into the playoffs. I mean, probably the
- 24:19Speaker 7: only way they get in would be two big wins,
- 24:22Speaker 7: decisive wins for them to get looked at now. But
- 24:27Speaker 7: I don't know if it's interesting to know how much
- 24:29Speaker 7: Texas has left an emotional tank. And I'm not ponited.
- 24:35Speaker 7: I'm picking Texas to win just because it's at home.
- 24:42Speaker 7: I don't know why, honestly, I just you know, the
- 24:47Speaker 7: Arkansas on is as much to play for as Texas.
- 24:50Speaker 7: Because Texas looks like it's playing for a bold game.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm going to take the Longhorns. They've been better at home,
- 24:56Speaker 1: for sure. We've talked about that they have, they have,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and I Arkansas has found a lot of different ways
- 25:03Speaker 1: to lose. So, uh, I'm gonna pick. I'm gonna pick Texas.
- 25:07Speaker 1: But uh, if Arkansas wins, I don't think too many
- 25:11Speaker 1: people that follow the game closely will be surprised.
- 25:13Speaker 7: To you, nobody will be surprised. I'll give credit Ark
- 25:17Speaker 7: for plane as hard as they are. Yeah, yeah, Can
- 25:20Speaker 7: you look at some of the LSU games and forwarda games, right,
- 25:24Speaker 7: Arkansas's trying hard, they're playing.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 25:27Speaker 7: I'll give Petrinal credit for that.
- 25:28Speaker 1: All right. We'll continue with Kirk Bowles after this for
- 25:32Speaker 1: Tigler Chevrolet and Brass's Home Care.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Brass's Home Care has been voted best of the Brasses

- 26:35Speaker 1: Kirk Balls of the Houston Chronicle joins us on Friday's Kirk,
- 26:40Speaker 1: let's start with the game. I put Harvard at Yale
- 26:43Speaker 1: in there, and I'm just gonna tell you, I'm I'm
- 26:48Speaker 1: taking Harvard. They've been throwing the ball a lot all
- 26:51Speaker 1: around the field, and uh, I'm I'm I'm picking them close.
- 26:57Speaker 7: Taking them close.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:00Speaker 7: And as I've said it, there's an SCS playoff berth
- 27:04Speaker 7: on the line.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I did not know that.
- 27:06Speaker 7: Yeah, they've agreed to take part of that. I think
- 27:10Speaker 7: for the.
- 27:10Speaker 1: First I did know that. I did, Yes, I did
- 27:13Speaker 1: know that they had changed their mind on that.
- 27:16Speaker 7: You know, we're talking about the depth of the Texas
- 27:18Speaker 7: Arkansas ribery. What's the what's the intensity of the emotion.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Well, I think I think it supersedes that Texas Arkansas
- 27:26Speaker 1: robbery by a little bit.
- 27:28Speaker 7: In might supersede everything they've played one hundred and forty times.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Wow, that's awesome.
- 27:33Speaker 7: And I would love to go to one of those games.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be fun.
- 27:37Speaker 7: You know that's from my bucket. Lant so is Army Navy.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been. I've been to Army Navy, but I
- 27:42Speaker 1: would like to go to Harvard and Yale.
- 27:44Speaker 7: Yeah, you love it when the emotions is so big.
- 27:47Speaker 7: The records don't matter. They're both good teams, but they
- 27:51Speaker 7: don't matter. Oh and I love the guy from Yale,
- 27:53Speaker 7: their linebacker. His name is in you midden Io Dural Jayaya.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Okay, so how long did you practice this?
- 28:05Speaker 7: Just? Hey, I'm glad.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I'm glad I'm not calling the game. Let's put it
- 28:09Speaker 1: that way.
- 28:10Speaker 7: They've got ninety one tackle so wow. They got a
- 28:13Speaker 7: guy that eki with nine and a half sacks.
- 28:16Speaker 1: So you're you're liking that Bulldog defense.
- 28:20Speaker 7: I do, but not to be at a.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Harvard Okay, all right, So yeah, Dayton Craig.
- 28:26Speaker 7: One and sixty seven yards passing the game. He's a
- 28:29Speaker 7: real deal.
- 28:30Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 28:30Speaker 7: They can stop the run. Crimson all right.
- 28:36Speaker 1: So Haines King is still way near the top of
- 28:39Speaker 1: my Heisman list. They're hosting Pitt tomorrow. Georgia Tech I
- 28:42Speaker 1: think is the best team in that league personally, I
- 28:47Speaker 1: know they've stumbled, but I'm I'm gonna take the rambling
- 28:50Speaker 1: wreck against Pitt tomorrow.
- 28:52Speaker 7: I don't think it's Louisville anymore.
- 28:55Speaker 1: No, I mean neither.
- 28:56Speaker 7: I'll watched that Friday night.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that wasn't pretty.
- 29:00Speaker 7: That was it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: That was so ugly. That was some ugly football that
- 29:03Speaker 1: that looked a lot like the fourth quarter of Georgia
- 29:05Speaker 1: and Texas very much.
- 29:07Speaker 7: Yeah. The difference was it was the kind of shame
- 29:10Speaker 7: anybody had to win.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Exactly exactly. That was ugly.
- 29:15Speaker 7: Couldn't couldn't go butt lou could make a field goal?
- 29:18Speaker 7: That was crazy. And you know I was. I was
- 29:21Speaker 7: the only voter to put Pitt in the top twenty
- 29:24Speaker 7: five a few weeks ago. And uh, I thought I
- 29:28Speaker 7: gave him a puncher's chance against Notre Dame. Not so much. No,
- 29:31Speaker 7: not so that. I don't know, padim R. Doozy did
- 29:34Speaker 7: a many favors, but I.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Said, exactly, I don't care exactly.
- 29:39Speaker 7: I mean, that's that's a bad, bad message into your team.
- 29:42Speaker 7: But I'm with you. I'm you know, I'm a Brent
- 29:45Speaker 7: Keith fan. I think in Arkansas that was sure, and Auburn, no,
- 29:49Speaker 7: look at him, yep, because it seems are always tough, yep,
- 29:53Speaker 7: and that's a quality you can't get enough of.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Ben Hey, maybe maybe Texas should look at him when
- 29:59Speaker 1: Sark goes of the NFL.
- 30:02Speaker 7: Oh, okay, do you have news here? I think, sorry,
- 30:05Speaker 7: if you're breaking.
- 30:07Speaker 1: News now, I thought i'd just jump on Desmond Howard's back,
- 30:11Speaker 1: you know.
- 30:12Speaker 7: There you go, mister responsible. Yeah, yeah, journal, Okay, yeah,
- 30:16Speaker 7: I'm with you, I'm with you. I'm going with Georgia Tech,
- 30:19Speaker 7: I believe.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Okay, at home and Lincoln Roley keeps winning at USC,
- 30:25Speaker 1: which kind of annoys me because I really don't think
- 30:27Speaker 1: he's that great of a coach.
- 30:29Speaker 7: Uh anoys everybody.
- 30:31Speaker 1: But going up to Austin, I just I have to
- 30:33Speaker 1: pick Oregon.
- 30:35Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean in Oregon, whether they look at what
- 30:38Speaker 7: they did in Minnesota last week, you know, just crushed them.
- 30:42Speaker 7: Dante Moore, you know, Silla heis kids. Yes, he is
- 30:47Speaker 7: thirty or thirty three of that game.
- 30:48Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 30:50Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, and the Oregon's you know, has a
- 30:53Speaker 7: really really good secondary and that's the thing that us
- 30:56Speaker 7: he does best. So I'm with you. I think Oregon
- 30:59Speaker 7: will with USC out of his misery as a as
- 31:02Speaker 7: a fringe at art C and I'll go in with
- 31:05Speaker 7: with the ducks.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Okay, just quick bonus. I wish i'd have had included
- 31:09Speaker 1: TCU in Houston tomorrow.
- 31:13Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm taking Houston.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, TCU is my gosh, they're all over the map.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I mean they have a lot of they have a
- 31:23Speaker 1: lot of talent, and I just I don't get that.
- 31:28Speaker 7: They've been a mystery team a lot like Texas this year.
- 31:32Speaker 7: It's the sun is not greater than the.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Maybe maybe you should go out and talk to Sunny Dykes.
- 31:38Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm the big fan of Sonny Dikes, did you know.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll ask him if he's underachieved this year.
- 31:45Speaker 7: Oh, I can just coaking campus the campus. I tell
- 31:51Speaker 7: you who's not under achieved of that's Lake Giffland, who
- 31:54Speaker 7: can have any job he wants, probably including president.
- 31:57Speaker 1: What do you think he's gonna do?
- 31:59Speaker 7: I've thought for all long he's going to Florida, and
- 32:02Speaker 7: I've been told by other journalists who I respect, you
- 32:06Speaker 7: know that it's a lock he's going to Florida. What
- 32:09Speaker 7: But why do you drag it out like.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I think he enjoys it.
- 32:14Speaker 7: I need too, you know, anybody.
- 32:16Speaker 1: And I still, I still think that there's a good
- 32:19Speaker 1: chance he's not going anywhere.
- 32:21Speaker 7: He shouldn't go anywhere. What is he unless he just
- 32:24Speaker 7: hated living in Oxford?
- 32:25Speaker 1: Now, I mean, if he hated living in Oxford, Oxford,
- 32:28Speaker 1: he's done a very good job in disguising that he is.
- 32:31Speaker 7: Uh.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You know, he's talked incessantly about how much he likes it.
- 32:34Speaker 7: So right, right, so wily, you're making ten millions, You
- 32:38Speaker 7: got a chance to get in the playoffs. Obviously you
- 32:41Speaker 7: can recruit the n al ploria's working well. So you
- 32:44Speaker 7: know he can grow quarterbacks, Yes he can. Yeah, his
- 32:48Speaker 7: old quarterbacks done pretty well with the New York Giants.
- 32:51Speaker 1: So maybe maybe my uh next week will know. But uh,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I think they've told him they need an answer before
- 32:57Speaker 1: the Egg Bowl next next Friday.
- 32:59Speaker 7: Yeah, he goes on Pat McAfee, he'd say, oh, that's
- 33:02Speaker 7: not true. I don't have an ULTI beata, you.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Know, ultimatum deadline. There's a lot of semantic games that
- 33:07Speaker 1: can be played, you know.
- 33:09Speaker 7: Yeah, And I do think he liked it. I think I.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Agree, of course he does. He loves it.
- 33:14Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, why go on a national talk show.
- 33:16Speaker 7: You know it's gonna be the one question and he's
- 33:20Speaker 7: just you know, that's why he is teasing your toy
- 33:23Speaker 7: with the hearts of rebel fans.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Well, that that part's true. Unfortunately, that that is true.
- 33:29Speaker 7: It's putting him through the riger here, and they should
- 33:31Speaker 7: have an ultimatum.
- 33:32Speaker 1: But hey, if he stays, he's a hero, right he.
- 33:35Speaker 7: Is, at least until the next job comes over.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Or until he loses. Kirk Balls joins us mostly on

- 35:40Speaker 4: FM, where it's not how good you are, but how
- 35:42Speaker 4: bad you want to do? Less Good Zone eleven fifty
- 35:50Speaker 4: ninety three point seven Ryan and Caleb on a Friday.
- 35:53Speaker 4: That was Chip and Kirk that you just heard, of course,
- 35:57Speaker 4: says Chip said at the end of that they will
- 35:58Speaker 4: be talking on Wednesday next week since it is a
- 36:01Speaker 4: short week with the holiday, I wanted to do a
- 36:05Speaker 4: little bit of baseball talk, short little segment here. But
- 36:08Speaker 4: there was some stuff that happened around the league. I
- 36:11Speaker 4: know the Astros. It came out the other night that
- 36:14Speaker 4: they traded Mauricio Dubon for what was his name? He
- 36:18Speaker 4: came from the brook Allen from the Braves, correct, So
- 36:21Speaker 4: Nick Allen.
- 36:22Speaker 6: Allen was a actually a Gold Glove finalist.
- 36:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw the shortstop. Defensively, he's he's on par
- 36:29Speaker 4: He may not be as good offensively, I think as Dubon.
- 36:32Speaker 4: So he was.
- 36:33Speaker 6: He had like a five hundred something open Yes, it
- 36:35Speaker 6: was rough with Dubon, you know, pretty light hitting guy.
- 36:38Speaker 5: But you can he's usually a.
- 36:40Speaker 6: Pretty decent contact bat and one another Gold Glove this year, his.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Second one with time. I mean this was a money saving.
- 36:48Speaker 6: So yeah, that that same day they also Deafatee Ramon Urius,
- 36:51Speaker 6: who we traded for at the deadline from Baltimore, also
- 36:55Speaker 6: utility infielder. Yeah, so from those two transactions, the Astros
- 37:00Speaker 6: trimmed a net eight point seven million off their payroll projection,
- 37:04Speaker 6: and Jim Crane really wants to stay under the luxury tax,
- 37:08Speaker 6: which is two forty four million right now according to fangrafts.
- 37:13Speaker 6: The Astros are about twenty five million below that, which
- 37:16Speaker 6: doesn't give them a whole lot of leeway right in
- 37:18Speaker 6: free agency. So and they were looking for, you know,
- 37:21Speaker 6: mostly pitching help with everybody basically still being hurt.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw and this is not Astros wise, but
- 37:29Speaker 4: I saw this posted a little while ago, because then
- 37:31Speaker 4: this was I think expected to be coming. But this
- 37:33Speaker 4: was with the Rangers. That Adulus Garcia was non tendered
- 37:36Speaker 4: by the Rangers and is now a free agent.
- 37:38Speaker 5: Okay, that's interesting.
- 37:40Speaker 4: So yeah, they're they're letting a Doles walk, which again
- 37:43Speaker 4: I think I had read that, so I don't think
- 37:46Speaker 4: that's entirely surprise. Yeah, I'd heard some things about that.
- 37:49Speaker 6: It's just kind of crazy how fast that his perception
- 37:53Speaker 6: of in the Rangers fan base changed from owns the
- 37:56Speaker 6: Astros to this guy secks Let's get him out of here.
- 37:59Speaker 4: I mean, that's how it goes. What have you done
- 38:02Speaker 4: for me lately? That is how it is.
- 38:05Speaker 6: So I wanted to take a look at some of
- 38:06Speaker 6: these free agents, like you mentioned, Mark fine Sand at
- 38:09Speaker 6: MLB dot com released a comprehensive.
- 38:12Speaker 4: This is a thick stack of That is a very
- 38:14Speaker 4: thick stack.
- 38:15Speaker 6: Tiered look at the free agent class, so Tier one.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Some of the notable names we've got Pee Alonzo obviously,
- 38:20Speaker 6: who opted out of his deal with the Mets.
- 38:22Speaker 4: He just you know, had a big He's a big
- 38:25Speaker 4: power bat.
- 38:26Speaker 1: You know.
- 38:27Speaker 6: Astros have the opportunity to do the funniest thing and
- 38:29Speaker 6: signed a right handed first baseman for like the third
- 38:32Speaker 6: time in the last four years. Don't think that's gonna happen,
- 38:35Speaker 6: but it would be funny. Boba Schett also a free agent,
- 38:40Speaker 6: Bregman going back on the market age thirty two, third baseman,
- 38:44Speaker 6: would really be interested to see where he's gonna go.
- 38:47Speaker 6: You know, people talk about the Tigers last year. Yeah,
- 38:50Speaker 6: that'll work out if they try to make a push
- 38:51Speaker 6: this year.
- 38:52Speaker 11: Right.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Dylan Ceese, which is a picture that the Astros tried
- 38:55Speaker 6: to trade for the deadline, which and people have said
- 38:59Speaker 6: that they're going to go after in free agency, which
- 39:00Speaker 6: I don't really understand because his projected salary is only
- 39:03Speaker 6: like ten million lower than Framber's and they've made it
- 39:06Speaker 6: very clear they don't want to bring Framber back. Right, Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 6: I'm not sure why you'd want to go after a
- 39:09Speaker 6: guy that's pretty similar. Age hasn't honestly hasn't been as good.
- 39:14Speaker 6: He had a four to fifty five RA this past season,
- 39:16Speaker 6: but he's projected to make one hundred and thirty million
- 39:18Speaker 6: over five years. A guy that I really think we
- 39:21Speaker 6: should go after. Michael King, who was in that same
- 39:24Speaker 6: Padres rotation that so the Padres got him in the
- 39:28Speaker 6: Wan Soto trade when they sent him to New York
- 39:31Speaker 6: and moved him to he moved him to the rotation.
- 39:34Speaker 5: He was a reliever.
- 39:34Speaker 6: But yeah, Yeah, in the two years that he's been
- 39:36Speaker 6: a starter for the Padres, he's had a two nine
- 39:38Speaker 6: two ERA, He's only thirty one. He's projected to make
- 39:41Speaker 6: under one hundred million. That's that's my number one on
- 39:46Speaker 6: free agent chart if I'm Dana Brown.
- 39:47Speaker 4: I mean, it sounds like it fits the mold of
- 39:49Speaker 4: what Dana Brown wants to do exactly.
- 39:51Speaker 6: So I think that would I think they could sign
- 39:53Speaker 6: him and figure out a way to say under the
- 39:55Speaker 6: luxury tax, and that'd be a pretty good addition to
- 39:57Speaker 6: the rotation. There's some other guys that, you know, a
- 40:00Speaker 6: little lower money, lower performance, like Zach Gallon, Yeah, who
- 40:04Speaker 6: had a career high year a last year, but he's
- 40:06Speaker 6: been pretty solid and you know, forty three year old
- 40:09Speaker 6: justin Berlanders always an option.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that is.
- 40:13Speaker 6: I mean there's been some buzz another right, there has
- 40:15Speaker 6: been some buzz. He had a I mean, he had
- 40:17Speaker 6: a pretty decent season last year. He started off really slow,
- 40:20Speaker 6: uh four nine in his first sixteen starts, but he
- 40:23Speaker 6: had a two sixty e ra A after I think
- 40:26Speaker 6: that was after the All Star break thirteen starts to.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Six zero e r.
- 40:29Speaker 4: That's a pretty solid forty three year old.
- 40:31Speaker 5: It is.
- 40:32Speaker 4: I don't know if we want to go back down
- 40:34Speaker 4: that road again. I've tore on it. I mean, so
- 40:37Speaker 4: it brings the.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Vibes back of the of the glory days, which feels
- 40:42Speaker 6: crazy to say that the glory days are gone, but yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 6: it it brings back some of the old, the old
- 40:50Speaker 6: energy from those World Series winning teams. I think it'd
- 40:53Speaker 6: be fun. Everybody.
- 40:54Speaker 4: All of our starters are on the il why not.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Why not?
- 40:57Speaker 7: Right?
- 40:57Speaker 6: We already we already took a flyer on Neat Pearson,
- 41:00Speaker 6: a twenty nine year old right hander from Toronto who's
- 41:04Speaker 6: a big prospect when he was coming up but never
- 41:06Speaker 6: really worked out.
- 41:07Speaker 5: Yeah, so get him in the lab.
- 41:09Speaker 6: We'll see how that works out, if he can pan out,
- 41:12Speaker 6: because you know, the farm system is pretty mid for
- 41:17Speaker 6: being honest. And then Victor Kartini is also a free agent.
- 41:20Speaker 6: Dana Brown has said that he wants to bring him back.
- 41:23Speaker 6: And I really like Kartini. I think he's a great,
- 41:25Speaker 6: you know, kind of platoon catcher guy to match up
- 41:28Speaker 6: with Yanier Diaz, so I'd be I'd be really happy
- 41:32Speaker 6: about bringing him back.
- 41:33Speaker 5: He's in tier five on Fine San's list. Or was
- 41:37Speaker 5: that twer four?
- 41:38Speaker 4: I think it was tier four?
- 41:39Speaker 6: Tier five, yeah, tier five, he's it's whatever, tier five.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I'd like to see him come back. This
- 41:48Speaker 4: is not astro stuff. But I did want to mention
- 41:49Speaker 4: how it just makes me so sad that the Dodgers
- 41:52Speaker 4: and Yankees are the favorited landing spots for Kyle Tucker.
- 41:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean so, Kyle Tucker's kind of the consensus
- 41:58Speaker 6: number one player on the market this year.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Yeah, he was so good start of the season. He
- 42:03Speaker 4: wouldn't have got hurt.
- 42:04Speaker 6: Who I mean, he might have been an MVP conversation
- 42:06Speaker 6: with I mean, show he exists. But other than that,
- 42:09Speaker 6: he probably would have been right up there and.
- 42:11Speaker 4: He would he would have been in the conversation. Which
- 42:14Speaker 4: is it.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 6: He hit seventeen homers through June. Yeah, and then just
- 42:17Speaker 6: kind of fell off, but you know he had that
- 42:18Speaker 6: hand injury. Yeah, and I'm really interested to see where
- 42:21Speaker 6: Framber goes to.
- 42:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that'll be interesting too. We gotta get not coming back, No, no,
- 42:26Speaker 4: he is not. That ship has saaled. We got to
- 42:28Speaker 4: get into Texans Report. We'll do a little bit of
- 42:31Speaker 4: entertainment fun stuff after that. That's coming up.
- 42:33Speaker 6: Texans Report brought to you by Redfield Meats and Dent Magic.

- 43:16Speaker 16: big story once again will be Davis Mills starting under
- 43:18Speaker 16: center for the injured CJ. Stroud, who remained sidelined after
- 43:22Speaker 16: suffering the King cushion on November two against the Broncos.
- 43:25Speaker 16: Davis Mills has been vocal about the importance of preparing
- 43:28Speaker 16: for games as the starting quarterback and getting valuable practice
- 43:31Speaker 16: reps as the number one option, and it's shown. The
- 43:34Speaker 16: Texans have not two straight wins with Mills as the quarterback,
- 43:37Speaker 16: and we'll look to get above the five hundred mark.
- 43:39Speaker 4: For the first time this season. Mills on running the offense.
- 43:42Speaker 12: As the season progresses, the starter usually it's the bulk
- 43:45Speaker 12: of the reps, but I mean it's it's been good.
- 43:47Speaker 12: We've got a lot of really valuable reps these last
- 43:49Speaker 12: couple of weeks, and I feel like the offense has
- 43:51Speaker 12: a good feel for each other and we've been meshing well.
- 43:54Speaker 12: So it's been fun to continue to develop and go

- 46:08Speaker 4: sure you've noticed, Caleb that it's gotten very festive around
- 46:11Speaker 4: here inside the holiday. No, no, no, it is not
- 46:15Speaker 4: time to decorate for Christmas.
- 46:16Speaker 6: Y oh, yesterday, it is not. Yes, it is next weekend.
- 46:19Speaker 6: You can decorate for Christmas and start playing Christmas music.
- 46:22Speaker 6: I will die on this hill. I despise.
- 46:24Speaker 4: I've been playing Christmas music since Halloween ended. I don't
- 46:28Speaker 4: why do people skips Thanksgiving, skip Thanksgiving?
- 46:31Speaker 5: I just like you skip Thanksgiving. You play Christmas musics.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is part of the Christmas season. For me,
- 46:39Speaker 4: I just enjoy I That's that is how I choose
- 46:41Speaker 4: to enjoy my Thanksgiving holiday. Well, that's your freedom. You
- 46:44Speaker 4: live in America. It makes it more festive for me,
- 46:48Speaker 4: you know what I can I can see in Caleb's
- 46:52Speaker 4: face that he has to choice I just don't.
- 46:54Speaker 6: I just don't like it when people decorate for Christmas
- 46:56Speaker 6: before Thanksgiving.
- 46:57Speaker 5: Well, you know, follows the best season of.
- 46:59Speaker 6: The now we don't didn't really get one this year,
- 47:01Speaker 6: but Paul is the best season of the year.
- 47:04Speaker 4: It's techrid man. We can never count on having an
- 47:06Speaker 4: actual thing, you can't, but when we do have one,
- 47:08Speaker 4: it's the best. Yeah. And it was a funny story yesterday.
- 47:11Speaker 4: And I don't think you've heard this story, because I
- 47:13Speaker 4: sure didn't tell you this yet, but we we We've
- 47:18Speaker 4: been slowly adding more decorations as the week has gone on,
- 47:21Speaker 4: Like I feel like every time I come in, there's
- 47:23Speaker 4: something more up that was not there before. Yeah, and yesterday,
- 47:28Speaker 4: and I'm kind of pulling back the curtain here, the
- 47:31Speaker 4: radio curtain of things that go on behind the scenes.
- 47:33Speaker 4: And this crosses over to the show that I usually
- 47:35Speaker 4: do on Candy. So we had Emily go in there,
- 47:40Speaker 4: who she is one of our part time workers. Was
- 47:42Speaker 4: her heart. She does so much work for us. She's
- 47:44Speaker 4: been working really hard to help decorate this place. And
- 47:47Speaker 4: she went into the Candy studio to decorate and at
- 47:50Speaker 4: we already we have our Christmas tree that went up
- 47:52Speaker 4: in there and she was adding some more like table ornaments,
- 47:56Speaker 4: and I had left the studio to take a prize
- 47:59Speaker 4: up front, and I see her go in there with
- 48:01Speaker 4: some decorations and she comes walking out and comes walking
- 48:06Speaker 4: up to me as I'm talking to Jamie from Peace
- 48:08Speaker 4: down the hallway, and she's like, hey, I dropped something
- 48:12Speaker 4: on the keyboard in the studio. And I look at
- 48:15Speaker 4: her and I just start laughing, and I'm like, oh,
- 48:17Speaker 4: as long as they didn't take us off the air,
- 48:18Speaker 4: that's fine, and she goes, oh, no, it's silent in there.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Let me tell you, I ran faster than I have
- 48:24Speaker 4: run since probably high school. Like I bolted down this
- 48:29Speaker 4: hallway so fast. And I went into full like freak
- 48:32Speaker 4: out mode in there because I'm like, oh my god, what.
- 48:33Speaker 10: Do I do?
- 48:33Speaker 4: What do I do? Because so long story short? No, no, no,
- 48:39Speaker 4: I'm not it's a funny story. I think it's a
- 48:42Speaker 4: hilarious story to tell now in hindsight. At the time,
- 48:46Speaker 4: I was absolutely freaking out. So that's the story of
- 48:48Speaker 4: how a little tabletop Christmas tree took us off the.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Air that day. Now you know why?
- 48:55Speaker 4: Yeah, oh man, I guess. Keeping on the talk of
- 48:59Speaker 4: holiday stuff, we are kind of doing the theme of
- 49:01Speaker 4: that here for this entertainment. Fake Christmas trees are now
- 49:05Speaker 4: the norm. You know, when I was little, we always
- 49:09Speaker 4: did a real Christmas tree, and then it just gradually
- 49:11Speaker 4: kind of transitioned from that to fake ones.
- 49:14Speaker 6: So we had a Christmas tree farm in not our town,
- 49:19Speaker 6: but you know, our general rural area that served you know,
- 49:22Speaker 6: like the whole county basically, and a lot of people, honestly,
- 49:25Speaker 6: a lot of people I feel like from Houston Massonville
- 49:26Speaker 6: would drive up for it.
- 49:29Speaker 5: And it was a big Christmas tree farm.
- 49:31Speaker 6: Actually worked there one season, like the last season before
- 49:35Speaker 6: they shut it down, and as long as they were around,
- 49:39Speaker 6: we had a real Christmas tree and it was always
- 49:40Speaker 6: really fun and go out there.
- 49:42Speaker 4: That's part of the tradition.
- 49:43Speaker 5: Yeah, isn't a lot of fun.
- 49:44Speaker 6: But then they shut down, so we didn't really have
- 49:46Speaker 6: one in the area, and then that's when we gave
- 49:49Speaker 6: into the corporate greed.
- 49:51Speaker 4: I mean, I look, I think the biggest thing is
- 49:53Speaker 4: people are tired after the holidays, and then nobody wants
- 49:56Speaker 4: to so much more vacuum up a bunch of needles
- 49:59Speaker 4: off the floor, lug that thing out to the side,
- 50:01Speaker 4: and hope that the trash people are willing to pick
- 50:03Speaker 4: it up. So I get it. It's sad at the
- 50:07Speaker 4: same time, but I'm true. I lived in a suburban
- 50:10Speaker 4: neighborhood where you had to take it out and hope
- 50:12Speaker 4: that the trash people would pick it up. So I
- 50:14Speaker 4: get it.
- 50:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I get why people do it, and it's it's
- 50:17Speaker 6: way easier to deal with and then you can just
- 50:20Speaker 6: pack it up and put in the attic. Yeah, let's
- 50:23Speaker 6: see a lot of money too.
- 50:25Speaker 4: On the note of traveling for Thanksgiving, they found that
- 50:31Speaker 4: the average person is willing to drive one hundred and
- 50:34Speaker 4: seventy two miles to pick up a loved one for Thanksgiving. Wow,
- 50:38Speaker 4: that is a long way, isn't it.
- 50:39Speaker 5: A long way? It's like two and a half hours.
- 50:41Speaker 4: Yeah, And I will say if it's on the way,
- 50:44Speaker 4: like it. Because my family, we would always take road
- 50:46Speaker 4: trips up to like Indiana. I have a lot of family.
- 50:49Speaker 4: I have a lot of family that lives in Indiana.
- 50:52Speaker 4: My mom went to Notre Dame, my grandfather went to
- 50:54Speaker 4: Notre Dame. I've been to Notre Dame's campus many times.
- 50:57Speaker 4: It's a beautiful campus. I'm glad we beat the hell
- 50:59Speaker 4: out of them early this season. We needed to get
- 51:01Speaker 4: our revenge. But it is a beautiful school. It's a
- 51:02Speaker 4: beautiful campus. We would drive all the way from here
- 51:06Speaker 4: to there over the course of a couple of days,
- 51:08Speaker 4: and we didn't have a family member along the way there.
- 51:11Speaker 4: But I would totally understand picking them up. Going completely
- 51:15Speaker 4: out of the way to pick up a family member
- 51:17Speaker 4: that that is that far away is kind of crazy.
- 51:20Speaker 4: If you have If you have somebody in your life
- 51:22Speaker 4: that is willing to do that for you, hold them
- 51:23Speaker 4: closely because that person loves you a whole lot.
- 51:26Speaker 5: That is crazy.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that is crazy. If you're hosting Thanksgiving this year. Uh,
- 51:33Speaker 4: they say these are the top five things that will
- 51:35Speaker 4: make your home perfect for it. Yeah, they say having
- 51:38Speaker 4: a big kitchen. That's is the number one thing. That
- 51:42Speaker 4: is that thousand the right number one. Dude, Trying to
- 51:46Speaker 4: cook in a small kitchen for something like Thanksgiving is
- 51:50Speaker 4: an absolute nightmare because you got to do the turkey.
- 51:53Speaker 4: If you're making casse rolesh potatoes, stuff, yes, if you're
- 51:58Speaker 4: doing it right, But I know that they're a big kitchen.
- 52:00Speaker 4: Got to have a big fridge. There are people out
- 52:02Speaker 4: there that will want to do that all all themselves,
- 52:05Speaker 4: and bless their souls for doing that. My uncle, back
- 52:08Speaker 4: to the Indiana thing, he would make the turkey in
- 52:12Speaker 4: the grill, okay, and it was something we had never
- 52:16Speaker 4: seen before, but he does it every single year. And
- 52:19Speaker 4: he and it's like it's not directly on on the grill,
- 52:24Speaker 4: but he would put it in one of those foil
- 52:27Speaker 4: trays and then put it in the grill, close the grill,
- 52:30Speaker 4: and it's like, do not You can't, I guess kind of,
- 52:34Speaker 4: but it's like, you can't open the grill until it's done.
- 52:37Speaker 4: You got to just let it go. But it made
- 52:39Speaker 4: a darn good turkey, dude.
- 52:40Speaker 6: Interesting And I don't know if I've ever heard of anybody
- 52:43Speaker 6: cooking a turkey that way.
- 52:44Speaker 4: He does it in there. He swears by it. We've
- 52:46Speaker 4: had it it is. So if you want to be
- 52:48Speaker 4: adventurous this Thanksgiving, try grill in your turkey. I would
- 52:51Speaker 4: recommend you look up a instructions online for it first
- 52:56Speaker 4: so you don't mess it up.
- 52:57Speaker 6: Yeah, but I mean talking about messing up turkey. People
- 53:01Speaker 6: try to fry their turkeys and blow their house up.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Yeah. And back to the home thing, they say, a
- 53:06Speaker 4: big kitchen followed by a big living room, a big
- 53:08Speaker 4: dining room, at least one extra bathroom, and lots of
- 53:10Speaker 4: outdoor space. That is the ideal home for hosting Thanksgiving.
- 53:16Speaker 4: That this is a non Thanksgiving related thing, but I
- 53:19Speaker 4: thought it was really interested from this week. Did you
- 53:21Speaker 4: know Amazon is selling cars now? They are selling used
- 53:25Speaker 4: cars on Amazon. I think I had heard that. Yeah,
- 53:27Speaker 4: Amazon Auto. Is that what it's called now? I guess,
- 53:29Speaker 4: so they are now selling used cars on Amazon. Me
- 53:32Speaker 4: and Ted were looking at this on the computer out
- 53:34Speaker 4: there watching college football earlier this week, and they they
- 53:38Speaker 4: will list it, and they'll list financing options. They'll list
- 53:43Speaker 4: things about the car like gas mileage, whatever you would
- 53:46Speaker 4: need to know.
- 53:47Speaker 6: Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't just like buy an auto
- 53:49Speaker 6: trader or something like that.
- 53:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I know right. They will not deliver the car
- 53:54Speaker 4: to your house.
- 53:55Speaker 5: Oh, they should have bought Carvana.
- 53:56Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying, because I sound like I got
- 53:58Speaker 4: a car Mazon.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Yeah, that's their whole things that they deliver everything.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Because I bought a car back in May of this year,
- 54:04Speaker 4: and I did go through Carvana and they will bring
- 54:06Speaker 4: it right to your door. Amazon, they will bring it
- 54:08Speaker 4: to a participating dealer that you can go pick it
- 54:11Speaker 4: up from yourself.
- 54:11Speaker 5: Interesting, So see, I feel like that's a big miss.
- 54:15Speaker 6: I do all think I do? Do You can order
- 54:17Speaker 6: anything off of Amazon and they'll bring it to you.
- 54:19Speaker 6: That's your whole branding, Like you gotta stay consistent.
- 54:22Speaker 4: I completely completely, No, I completely agree with what you're saying.
- 54:27Speaker 4: So that is a big miss for me too. Carvana
- 54:30Speaker 4: does it better still, as far as I'm concerned, until
- 54:32Speaker 4: Amazon decides that they will bring it straight to your door,
- 54:34Speaker 4: and maybe that's something that they're going to launch later on,
- 54:36Speaker 4: I wouldn't be surprised at all. But for right now,
- 54:40Speaker 4: you can buy a car on Amazon at least? How
- 54:41Speaker 4: about that? How about that? Indeed, what have we got here?
- 54:45Speaker 4: Four fifty five? All right, we got to close out
- 54:47Speaker 4: this hour, but I guess we'll tease a little bit
- 54:48Speaker 4: of what we have coming up here inside of the
- 54:51Speaker 4: five o'clock hour. We're going to start the hour with
- 54:53Speaker 4: college football, of course, big weekend for that. We will
- 54:56Speaker 4: never skip over that. Chip and Tony they're going to
- 54:58Speaker 4: talk a little bit after that. Around five point fifteen,
- 55:01Speaker 4: we will hit more on the Texans and Bills will
- 55:05Speaker 4: recap that game last night that apparently the Texans report
- 55:08Speaker 4: we played thought was tonight. I guess we put the
- 55:10Speaker 4: wrong one in there or something. And then we'll close
- 55:12Speaker 4: out with police reports at the end of the five
- 55:15Speaker 4: o'clock hour. So that is all coming up.
- 55:17Speaker 5: What do we have here?
