- Sue: Do you greet your loved ones differently than non-loved ones? Meaning loved ones, people you were married to, close friends, relatives, and then everybody else are the non-loved ones. I mean, yes, you may have some reverence for those people and care and compassion, but what I'm trying to make the point with is I noticed in my life that in my effort, to no longer ask, how are you? As a greeting and to replace it with something more meaningful, such as, it's really lovely to see you today or something of that sentiment. It's really hard to do. As I started to reflect on how it is that I connect with my relatives, loved ones, it's more of just a continuation of where we left off. There's no hello for the most part. There's no hi. It's, you left your sweater at my place last week or look who turned up. You know, you start right in at a point in conversation that has nothing to do with asking about somebody's vibe. And I'm resonating with the two different approaches, trying to get out of non-loved ones, how are you? And to also be prepared when somebody does ask me how I am, that's not a loved one, an appropriate response that doesn't give that asker a chance to siphon my energy. And while it may not be exactly appropriate to address non-loved ones in the way that you address loved ones, I think you can still craft a greeting that certainly states your happiness at connecting with this person, at the same time, 17-17, at the same time does not come off as an energy siphon. I'm trying to eliminate the potential for sneaky. energy siphoning by those who are overtly not asking how I am, but to ask a question that basically yields in a very similar siphon. It's been ages since I've seen you. What you been up to? That's an obvious siphon. And again, it's not because you don't want to share what's been going on in your life. It's just the way that it gets shared. You are no longer in control when somebody asks you to share that information instead of you choosing share that information without having a question without having a request for energy. The reason why that's important is because if you know yourself, you're going to notice the times in your life when you feel drained. You're feeling drained. That is the potential for having that energy siphon from you, leaving you feeling depleted. You you suddenly feel like it's time to lie down and have a nap. That's something that you don't normally do. Or maybe you relate to the fact that sometimes you have to deal with certain personalities and you feel drained after that and you think, it's only so great that I'm only working with them on this project and I'm not working with them as a regular team member, for example. Those are all distractions from you holding onto your energy and being creative with how you choose to use it on your own. And it can be really deceiving sometimes because it's coming from a non-loved one whom you respect. My goal is that I'm trying to treat everybody equally and in balance. you find out that you're being siphoned by certain souls and that just won't do because even if somebody asks you how you are you have no obligation to actually share that information. You can make it congenial and not have your energy taken from you because after all that's spiritual trespassing. Anybody, whether they're a loved one or not, who truly respects you and values you. won't ask such question because they will either continue the conversation that you two started previously, as you would with a loved one, or you will have elevated that communication with that non-family, non-loved one to be the equal part of who you are when you communicate with everybody so that you are approaching everybody equally. You you're not giving everything away, but you're not being cold or distant. You're finding that balance of what it is that meaningfully is. The communication, it can be a very difficult thing to do to catch yourself sort of hacking your salutations now. And the boundaries that you establish with strangers trying to connect with you are a bit more visible and pronounced compared with that of your relationships that are already established. That's my experience. Maybe you share the same. I'm only chatting about this because I sometimes have to work alongside people who are repetitively asking how I am. are not satisfied at stopping asking that question until I give them some sort of response and that they believe because I'm avoiding answering the question that I'm being evasive instead of just understanding that they can learn to communicate in a different way. That's all right. But it nonetheless can be something that throws you off kilter when somebody repeatedly asks you how you are. And I don't wish to give them an answer like, oh, I'm fine. I know. I want to give them something meaningful. contributes to the conversation, not upset them to let them know just how rude they're being. It is rude to spiritually trespass and try and siphon somebody's energy with reaching questions like, how are we? What did you do last weekend? Thing is, everybody's so used to hearing and saying those questions that it's normal. And I'm being potentially viewed as just being overly sensitive, whatever. And I'm just saying, actually not. I'm mindful to protect my boundaries. And in a way, it protects them as well, prevents them from hurting themselves. You know, I think a good substitute for asking how are you is to replace it with, you good? Because that answer is either yes or no. And if it's not, I'm not going to ask to tease it out of them. If they volunteer it, well, and then you know, you know they're not for you. This is just another sharing of my experiences of learning to better manage my spiritual energy settings. can happen so frequently in our lives that they're really normalized in the way that we express ourselves and we don't think about the potential for individual impact. The impact of feeling drained and not understanding fully why, particularly when it's such a subtle feeling off vibe. It's just raising your awareness of the signs and still be a compassionate, loving soul because you're holding in all of your energy so that you can be there up ⁓ everyone ⁓ needed. Are you good?
